Salma Hayek's Perfect Gucci Dress On House Of Gucci Premiere Red Carpet

With almost ten nominations at the upcoming BAFTAs, there's no denying the impact of House of Gucci as a biopic in the film industry. What makes its success so commendable is the collaboration with the real-life Italian Fashion House.

The cast showed up and showed out in the week-long rollout, shinning and turning heads on the red carpet in custom-made Gucci outfits. Salma Hayek, for one, didn't only dazzle; she showed us the many sides of the fashion house's prowess. Co-signing doesn't get better than that.

Smooth As Velvet

This T-cut keyhole velvet dress is a crossover between vintage and modern style, and we love that. The tastefully executed the long-sleeved blue velvet bodice with diamond detailing on the cuffs and neckline. Talk about sewn-in jewelry, so you don't have to bother finding the right set to compliment a masterpiece.

Its black skirt flowed down into a train with a left overlapping thigh-high slit, and the 55-year-old Mexican-American actress flaunted her sexy legs. Salma covered them in skin-tone stockings and black high-heel T-strap sandals, which you can see every time she takes a stride ahead - it's the attention to details for us.

A Shining Star

Before the movie premiere, Salma attended the LACMA Gucci Gala dressed in a sequined Ombre Gucci dress. The sweetheart neckline and bodice in deep purples faded into lighter shades from the waistline to the hemline. When you can't settle on a color, we guess the next best thing is to merge as many shades as you can into one outfit - take note, people. The Eternals actress wore a silver and violet chandelier necklace and carried a bold violet clutch purse. Oh, the perks of wearing a multicolored dress.

Lady Hera

The Academy Award Nominee borrowed a leaf from her Eternal's character Ajak's playbook here as she walked onto the red carpet looking like a goddess. The shiny gold dress with a cinched waist and V-neckline framed her upper body perfectly as the skirt flowed down in a pleat. Salma wore a statement necklace with yellow-stone diamonds scattered carefully on a silver chain.

Gucci All Day

Salma's love relationship with the Italian fashion house didn't start at the movie premieres. Even when she's relaxing on a leisurely pool day, you can't stop the lady from wearing her Gucci, as she proved in the picture below.

Gina Gershon Defends Woody Allen, Speaks Out Against Cancel Culture

Gina Gershon has had it with cancel culture, particularly as far as Woody Allen is concerned. The 59-year-old Riverdale actress is defending Allen, who wrote and directed her 2020 movie Rifkin’s Festival, amid allegations of child sexual abuse leveled against him by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow.

The director, 86, has denied the allegations and no criminal charges have been filed, but some Hollywood personalities have called him out and expressed regret over working with him in the past.

Gershon is showing strong support for Allen, though. See below.

Why She Decided To Work With Allen

In an interview with WGN9, the Don’t Look Up actress defended her decision to work with Allen when others are choosing to distance themselves, saying “he’s a genius” and those who are against working with him “just shouldn’t.”

“It serves no one to keep great artists from working, even the alleged victims, right?” Gershon added. “It makes me a little sad that that’s how you lead this whole talk, talking about all that controversy instead of talking about what an incredible artist he is. And for me as an actress, I mean, he's been inspiring me ever since I can remember. So I was really thrilled to work with him.”

‘Innocent Until Proven Guilty’

Gershon believes that the allegations against Allen are “a family matter” and “not really any of our businesses.”

She then touched on cancel culture, saying, “I find in this world we’re living in right now, it’s a little bit tricky to even talk about it, because things are pulled apart and put on social media and clickbait, and no one is safe. It’s sad, and that’s the world we’re living in right now. Because really, I always thought in this country you’re innocent until proven guilty, because if the opposite were true, we’d all be canceled, basically.”

Dakota Johnson’s Take On Cancel Culture

Gershon is just one of many Hollywood celebrities who have spoken out against cancel culture. Dakota Johnson, in an interview with Hollywood Reporter in November 2021, defended past co-stars Johnny Depp, Shia LaBeouf and Armie Hammer, who have also been accused of abuse.

“I never experienced that firsthand from any of those people,” Johnson said. “I had an incredible time working with them.”

“I think there’s definitely a major overcorrection happening,” the Fifty Shades of Grey star added. “But, yeah, cancel culture is such a f***ing downer. I hate that term.”

Other Celebs Weigh In

Depp himself has weighed in on the issue, along with other celebs like Kelly Osbourne, Alec Baldwin and Demi Lovato, to name but a few.

Back in September 2021, Depp talked about cancel culture as “this instant rush to judgement based on what essentially amounts to polluted air,” also noting that “no one is safe.”

Osbourne, meanwhile, expressed her opinion following racism accusations against her mom Sharon Osbourne. “I say f**k cancel culture, it's all about counsel culture,” she said. “Educate people, teach people. A gentle nudge in the right direction is so much better than a public execution.”

Baldwin talked about it in an Instagram video, saying, “Cancel culture is getting out of hand.” He also noted that many of those people “don't deserve to have their careers and their lives destroyed.

Lovato, meanwhile, asked, “Where is the forgiveness culture?” after the hashtag #DemiIsOverParty went trending on Twitter.

NBA Rumors: Proposed 3-Way Trade Sends Anthony Davis To Hawks, Russell Westbrook To Sixers & Ben Simmons To LA Lakers

As the 2022 NBA trade deadline draws closer, several crazy blockbuster trade ideas continue to surface on the internet. These include a hypothetical three-team blockbuster trade featuring Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook of the Los Angeles Lakers and Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers. Another team that would be involved in the suggested deal is the Atlanta Hawks.

In the proposed "3-team mega deal" by Addam Goldman of Fadeaway World, the Hawks would receive Davis and Tobias Harris, the Sixers would get Westbrook, Bogdan Bogdanovic, De'Andre Hunter, Malik Monk, Onyeka Okongwu, a 2023 first-round pick, a 2024 first-round pick, and a 2027 first-round pick, and the Lakers would obtain Simmons, John Collins, Seth Curry, Lou Williams, and a 2023 first-round pick.

Anthony Davis & Tobias Harris Join Forces With Trae Young

For the Hawks, making major roster upgrades before the 2022 NBA trade deadline is necessary. They may be finally learning how to consistently win games, but they obviously need more star power around Trae Young to have a realistic chance of fully dominating the Eastern Conference and winning the NBA championship title in the 2021-22 NBA season. Davis would give the Hawks a legitimate superstar and an immediate replacement for Collins in their frontcourt, while Harris would take the starting small forward spot.

If the core of Young, Davis, Harris, Clint Capela, and Kevin Huerter mesh well on the court, the Hawks would be a tough team to beat in a best-of-seven series.

Sixers Dump Ben Simmons & Tobias Harris, Get Valuable Assets

This may not be the ideal deal for the Sixers, but it's still worth exploring. The proposed three-way trade would allow them to end the drama surrounding Simmons and dump Harris' massive contract while acquiring assets that they could use in future blockbuster trades. Westbrook may be also owed a huge amount of money, but his contract is set to expire after the 2022-23 NBA season.

While waiting for their top trade targets to become available on the trading block, the Sixers could experiment on whether the Westbrook-Joel Embiid could work in Philadelphia or not.

Lakers Overhaul Roster Around LeBron James

For the Lakers, the suggested three-way blockbuster would enable them to get younger and more durable replacements for Davis and Westbrook in Collins and Simmons. Collins would serve as the Lakers' new starting power forward, while Simmons would take the role as the team's primary playmaker.

Curry and Williams aren't only included in the deal for salary-matching purposes. Curry would bring the much-needed improvement for the Lakers in terms of outside shooting, while Williams would provide them with a solid offensive contributor off the bench.

Ben Simmons Finds A New Home

This would be a win for Simmons. The proposed three-way deal would give him the opportunity to play for a team that is situated in California while teaming up with the biggest client of Rich Paul in James. Joining forces with James in Los Angeles would give Simmons a realistic chance of reaching the NBA Finals and winning his first NBA championship title.

Being mentored by one of the greatest players of all time could also help him quickly regain his confidence and speed up his development into a legitimate superstar in the league.

Texas Rangers Aren't Done Spending On Players

Although Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players' Association have not agreed on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Texas Rangers are still looking to make acquisitions and moves when this incessant lockout is over. Let's take a look at what the have done this offseason and what is likely to come.

Money, Money, Money

Jon Daniels has been apart of the Rangers organization since becoming the general manager in 2005. He was promoted to President of Baseball Operations in December 2020, with Chris Young taking over the role of GM. A decade and change since the Rangers lost their second consecutive World Series to the St. Louis Cardinals, ownership has finally given the front office permission to create and sign players to extremely lucrative contracts. For most Rangers fans, this is a pleasant departure from the penny pinching and frugal years they have had to endure.

Half A Billion

In the wee beginnings of this offseason, the Texas Rangers did something they hadn't done in quite a while. They reached deep into their pockets and shelled out the "big" money. In two days, they signed four players: 2B Marcus Semien (7 years, $175 million), P Jon Gray (4 years, $56 million), OF Kole Calhoun (1 year, $5.2 million), and finally SS Corey Seager (10 years, $325 million). Breaking the doors down on the offseason, the Rangers allocated over half a billion dollars over the course of two days. While the lockout has prevented any new signings or transactions for the Rangers (or any other team), the word around the league is that the Rangers are ready to keep spending.

What's Next?

The mantra of every Rangers fan is consistently the same. When asked about their team's prospects for the coming year, they reply "We need more pitching." And they are usually right. Rangers have been known for unbelievable talent when it comes to the batter's box. But, they fail to provide a consistent, quality outings from their pitching staff. Clayton Kershaw (Dallas native) will forever be remembered as one of the LA Dodgers' greatest pitchers (if not the entire MLB), and he is a free agent this offseason. He may be a little long in the tooth, and his arm may be banged up, but bringing a solid veteran to help hold down a starter pitcher role would provide the Rangers some small relief. If Kershaw can't be convinced to return to the Lone Star State, then the Rangers' front office has to keep looking for other quality arms. Come on Texas, sign more pitchers. Sign more pitchers. Sign more pitchers.

Before the vortex of competitive sports suck us in once again, let's take a lighthearted moment to reminisce on the pre-Olympic days. When the weather was warmer and the clothing was scantier.

We're talking about one of the many times Mikaela Shiffrin expressed gratitude to her one million Instagram followers.

When The Party Is Over

The Gold medalist soaked in a cool pool wearing a horizontal striped red and white bikini and dark sunshades. Her bright smile displayed pearly white teeth as she beamed at the camera with the blinding sunlight in her background. Hair tied back, arms folded protectively across her chest, and lower body submerged in the pool, Mikaela expresses her gratitude.

2018-2019 World Skiing Champion

Mikaela was thinking about when she won her first GS Globe as a professional skier in the 2018-2019 Winter games when she wrote that - so the smile you see in the Instagram post above is that of a Winner. Let's come back to the present. Mikaela is again representing the USA at the Beijing Winter Olympics this month, and she's one of the biggest names to watch if you haven't been paying attention. The 25-year-old would appear in five events, and the odds of her clinching a gold medal in at least one are good.

Mikaela would ski in the Grand Slalom, Super G, Slalom, Downhill, and Alpine. Her first event is on Feb. 7, then 9, 11, 15, and 17. Mikaela is three medals shy of becoming the most decorated American skier of all time (male and female)!
