Telling Her Story! Britney Spears Inks Multimillion-Dollar Book Deal Posted: 21 Feb 2022 05:39 PM PST ![]() Write on! Britney Spears has inked a deal to pen a memoir after being released from her conservatorship last year, Us Weekly confirms. A source tells Us that the “Gimme More” singer, 41, signed a multimillion-dollar contract for her book, which will be published by Simon & Schuster. Page Six first broke the news on Monday, February 21, citing a $15 million payday for the Crossroads star. Spears’ conservatorship put her in the public eye throughout much of 2021 after she finally spoke out about the situation in June during a bombshell courtroom testimony. At the time, the pop star revealed that she had no desire to be under a legal adult guardianship with her father, Jamie Spears, making all of her financial decisions. (Jamie, 69, had been in charge of his daughter's estate since 2008.) After switching legal teams and several hearings, Britney’s conservatorship ended in November. "The conservatorship of the person and estate of Britney Jean Spears is no longer required," Judge Brenda Penny said during the ruling. "The conservatorship is hereby terminated." With no conservator of her person or estate in charge, the Mississippi-born performer was free to express herself on social media. Along with her trademark dance routines and sharing sweet photos with fiancé Sam Asghari, Britney has recently taken aim at sister Jamie Lynn Spears on social media. Jamie Lynn's recent memoir, Things I Should Have Said, which was released in January, fueled most of Britney’s comments. "Congrats best seller … I'm not surprised at all Jamie Lynn, 30, responded to her sister’s messages via Instagram. "It's hard to see these posts, as I know the world also feels. I just wish her well," the former Nickelodeon star wrote last month. "Brit, I am always here, you know behind the scenes I have always been here. It's become exhausting when conversations and texts we have in private don't match what you post on social media. I know you're going through a lot and I never want to diminish that, but I also can't diminish myself.” The “Stronger” singer later sent the Zoey 101 alum a cease-and-desist letter through her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, asserting that she will "no longer be bullied" for her family's benefit. "We write with some hesitation because the last thing Britney wants is to bring more attention to your ill-timed book and its misleading or outrageous claims about her," the document read, in part. "Although Britney has not read and does not intend to read your book, she and millions of her fans were shocked to see how you have exploited her for monetary gain. She will not tolerate it, nor should she.” This memoir will not be Britney’s first book. The songstress previously penned Heart-to-Heart with mother Lynne Spears. The duo also made their fiction debut together with the 2001 novel A Mother’s Gift. Both were released through imprints of Random House (now known as Penguin Random House), a major competitor of her new publisher Simon & Schuster. |
Bachelorette Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark’s Relationship Timeline Posted: 21 Feb 2022 05:01 PM PST Coming up roses! Tayshia Adams' journey on season 16 of The Bachelorette was unconventional from the start, but after meeting Zac Clark her love story seemed complete. The California native stepped in as the lead on the ABC dating series after Clare Crawley found her person in suitor Dale Moss two weeks into filming. As her adventure began in November 2020, Adams stepped into the limelight meeting some of the men who previously competed for Crawley’s heart and a few new men. Clark, who hails from New Jersey, was one of the contestants who stuck around after the hairstylist left the show, and as luck would have it, his instant connection with Adams proved to be the winning formula. The pair hit it off during the former phlebotomist's first group date, although he did not earn the first impression rose. By the time they made it to their first one-on-one date — which featured the pair pretending to be married while taking photos — the two's connection was obvious to viewers. Both the addiction specialist and Adams have been married before — her to Josh Bourelle and him to Jennifer Stanley- George — and bonded over their past relationships. When Clark revealed he is nine years drug-free after struggling with addiction and recovery after taking pain medication following a surgery to remove a brain tumor, the duo grew even closer. After a few ups and downs on Adams’ end during the rest of the season, she ultimately chose Clark as her last man standing. "There was one point in my life when I thought I would never get married, because of all the pain and the heartbreak I had been through, and I hit absolute rock bottom. And I know that I told you that I love you, but … it's more than that," she told him during the show's finale on December 22, 2020. "It's this wild, wild love that I have tried to come up with so many reasons to not believe, and you have truly just made me believe there doesn't need to be flaws, and that I deserve a love with a man that won't run away. You've truly woken up my heart, and yes, it is real. I feel it too." Clark was quick to return the sentiment and asked Adams to marry him. "I can't picture another day, another moment without you in my life," he said. "And if you'll let me, I'm going to choose you right now. I'm going to choose you tomorrow morning. I'm going to choose you next week and next year. I'm going to choose you forever, because I love you." Adams said yes, replying, "You're mine!" In November 2021, however, the duo called it quits, nearly one year after their engagement aired on ABC. "Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark are no longer a couple," a representative told Us Weekly at the time. ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() The couple’s first one-on-one date (which aired on December 1, 2020) seemingly foreshadowed their eventual engagement. The pair took wedding photos on their intimate afternoon, with Clark wearing numerous suits and Adams dressing up in ballgowns fit for a bride. The addiction specialist also opened up about his past with drugs during the date, and his openness earned him a rose. ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() Clark swept Adams off her feet with his hometown date, which aired on December 15, 2020. He showed her what a day in New York City would be like for the two of them after she told him she had considered moving there. The pair even drove around in a cardboard taxi at the La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs, California. ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() Although the couple had a rocky final date, as Adams' fears about getting married again set in, she ultimately gave Clark the final rose of the season and said yes to his proposal during the December 22, 2020, episode. “The other night when we were talking, you spoke about this idea of someone choosing you, and I can’t picture another day, another moment without you in my life,” he said after getting down on one knee. “And if you’ll let me, I’m going to choose you right now. I’m going to choose you tomorrow morning. I’m going to choose you next week and next year. I’m going to choose you forever, because I love you.” ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() During the show’s finale, Adams' dad expressed concerns for her getting engaged again after such a whirlwind romance, but she told Us exclusively that her dad’s tough love was the clarity she needed to say yes to Clark. “My dad, he always means, obviously, the best and he wants me just to be happy,” she told Us in December 2020. “And I feel like I just figured out what I wanted to do after that conversation. … I knew what I had to do after talking to him just because I want my family and the person I choose [to have] beside me to get along and I want it all just to work out.” Clark, for his part, is also a fan of his future in-laws, telling Us, “They’re the best of all time. We had an opportunity to hang a little bit with them last night during the finale. And I’m just so grateful that they’re a part of my life. And it’s no mistake that Tayshia is a byproduct of that family because they’re just really good people.” ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() “I’m going to be bicoastal,” the former phlebotomist told Us in December 2020. “I’ll have my place [in California] and I’m looking forward to spending time in New York with him and just getting used to being bicoastal.” ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() Adams told Us in December 2020 that the couple were going to be spending the holidays in New York, saying it is “going to be amazing.” The pair teased their trip via their Instagram Stories on December 23, before she tweeted on Christmas Eve, “NYC here we come!” Courtesy Tayshia Adams/Instagram ![]() Adams gushed about how “surreal” it was to be able to “just be out in the open” with Clark in NYC in December 2020. There are plans to get married, but it’s been a wild start to the year,” he teased, adding that they did not have a date set at the moment but would eventually. Elsewhere in the interview, he admitted the pair struggled to maintain their relationship after the show ended. “We’re both passionate, driven, busy human beings. And with that, we need to remind ourselves to work each other into it and we’ve done [that],” he explained. “So yeah, a couple months after, there was some ups and downs, of course, and, like, well-documented, but at the end of the day, it’s all good right now.” ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() Fans speculated that Adams and Clark had called off their engagement after his mom unfollowed his fiancée on Instagram. He revealed during an April 2021 appearance on the “Chicks in the Office” podcast that his mother “probably did it accidentally” while trying to decrease ads for Adams’ podcast. “It’s always great to be loved, but at the end of the day we are in a relationship with each other, so all that noise and all that drama doesn’t really matter,” he said. Andrew H. Because to be honest with you, we go through it kind of together when we’re all watching the show. However, you have to realize that it’s a real relationship behind the scenes.” Courtesy of Tayshia Adams/Instagram ![]() Clark shared an Instagram photo of himself and Adams at a basketball game with friends in June 2021. “NOTHING LEFT TO DO BUT TRUST THE PROCESS,” he wrote. “Thank you @sixers for having us out. That same month, Clark opened up to Us about maintaining their romance while Adams is away. “In terms of long-distance, FaceTime is a valuable tool and phone calls and just trying to be thoughtful, like, little notes and little gifts,” he told Us. “Little things go a long way when you’re spending this much time away from someone, but we’re going to get to spend a New York City fall together, which I am really excited about. I have a feeling she’s going to like it.” He added that the pair have “no date yet” for their nuptials. “It has been a busy year for both of us. That time we’re going to get here very, very shortly — I can’t wait. I mean, [she’s] coming here this week. We’re going to get to spend some time together and reunite. I’m sure that conversation will start to gain some traction here in the near future,” he said on September 8. The news came three days after Life & Style reported that the duo were taking a break. ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() During the Men Tell All episode of The Bachelorette in December 2021, Adams admitted that she was "heartbroken" when Kaitlyn Bristowe noted she wasn't wearing her engagement ring. "We tried really hard and I still love him very much and I’m not sure what the future holds,” she said. “You know how it is, it’s really tough.” She later walked off stage for a moment to herself but rejoined the taping shortly thereafter. One day later, Adams told Becca Kufrin that she didn't have much to add after the Men Tell All special. "I really said all I had to say on that stage," she said during an episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast. "I don't really have anything to add to it just because I'm still going through it all. And yeah, I spoke my piece. And one day, when I feel like I have more to say, I'm sure we can talk about it all." ABC/John Fleenor ![]() A source exclusively told Us in February 2022 that the exes are “still in communication” with each other after calling it quits three months prior. “There are some lingering matters between them that haven’t been resolved yet. They were working on projects together, planning things, and it seems like there isn’t closure yet,” the insider said. “It’s more him still having to figure things out post-split between what they had and also move on from the bond she had with his family and friends.”The source added that Clark has not started going on dates post-split, due in part, to how the public breakup affected him. “He gets excited about the idea of dating again but has trust issues from being in the spotlight,” the insider told Us. “His biggest fear is getting close to someone, breaking up and then that girl sharing with the world about their relationship.” Andrew H. Bachelorette’s Zac Faces 'Trust Issues' With Dating After Tayshia Split Posted: 21 Feb 2022 04:57 PM PST ![]() Focused on himself. Zac Clark is doing "fine" after splitting from fiancée Tayshia Adams, but he isn't quite ready to get back into the dating game. “He hasn’t started going on dates but is open to it," a source exclusively tells Us Weekly, noting the 36-year-old addiction specialist's friends have suggested he join an exclusive dating app like Raya. "They’re trying to help him move on." The New Jersey native, who fell in love with 31-year-old Adams while on season 16 of The Bachelorette in 2020, is hesitant about getting into a new relationship now that he's a public figure. "He gets excited about the idea of dating again but has trust issues from being in the spotlight," the insider says. "His biggest fear is getting close to someone, breaking up and then that girl sharing with the world about their relationship." Clark wants to "build that trust with his next partner," after his breakup with Adams became so public last year, per the source. The exes, whose proposal played out during the ABC finale in December 2020, sparked split speculation in November 2021 after running the New York City marathon together earlier that month. She fueled split rumors on November 15 when she tweeted a cryptic message about trusting the process. "Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark are no longer a couple," a rep confirmed to Us the following week. But we tried really hard, and I still love him very much and I'm not sure what the future holds," Adams told cohost Kaitlyn Bristowe. "You know how it is, it's really tough." Through all the ups and downs, Clark has managed to stay focused on his career and maintained his sobriety. “He’s working on Release Recovery and has some upcoming projects in the works," the insider tells Us. "He’s still very much sober and has been hanging out with friends in the city. He’s been turning to friends and family for advice.” |
How Bindi Irwin and Robert Irwin Have Paid Tribute to Their Late Dad Over the Years Posted: 21 Feb 2022 04:42 PM PST Forever in their hearts. Bindi Irwin and Robert Irwin have paid tribute to their father, Steve Irwin, many times in the years since his heartbreaking death. Steve — a wildlife conservationist and beloved television personality — died at age 44 after being pierced by a stingray barb in September 2006. He was survived by his children and his wife, Terri Irwin. Although Bindi and Robert were only 8 and 2 at the time of their father's passing, they've grown to carry on his legacy in ways both big and small. Today, the family continues to run the Australia Zoo, which Steve's parents started in the 1970s. Those who have come into the siblings’ life in the years since Steve's death also love to pay tribute to the beloved zookeeper. "Thank you for inspiring me and the whole world to love all wildlife," Bindi's husband, Chandler Powell, captioned a photo of Steve with a crocodile to celebrate the late naturalist's birthday in February 2020. "You would be so proud of Bindi, Terri and Robert carrying on the amazing work you started. We will all make sure your message lives on for generations During a September 2019 conversation with Us Weekly, Bindi and Chandler revealed their plan to honor Steve by incorporating khaki and animals into their wedding. "I really wanted Dad to be a big part of the day, so I'm excited to be able to incorporate him throughout the ceremony and the reception, and I think it's going to be really special because I feel like his spirit lives on in us," Bindi told Us at the time. "It's going to be a celebration of family and friends, our wildlife, and I think that night, it'll be about our lives together and the joining of families. It's going to be beautiful." Terri noted that she was reminded of Steve often while wedding planning with her daughter and Powell. "I always think about what would Steve be doing, and while we're discussing the wedding planning and the details, I know he would just be crying because he was so soft on the inside and loves [Bindi] and Robert so much and would have loved you, Chandler, and he would have definitely cried at the wedding. He couldn't have given a speech. … It would have been incredibly special," she told Us. The couple tied the knot at the Australia Zoo in March 2020. One year later, they welcomed their first daughter, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. James D Morgan/Shutterstock ![]() Bindi told Us in May 2019 that filming her family’s reality show, Crikey! It’s the Irwins, made her feel close to her father. “It just feels right. I know when Dad passed away, it was a really challenging time and I was quite little,” she said. “I was really, really young and when you’re at that age, everything’s a little scary and unknown territory and we’re all dealing with grief and I remember saying to my mom, ‘When can we start filming again?’ Because it was something that I knew and I was used to.” Robert also works hard to continue his father’s legacy through his own conservation efforts. “Today marks the end of our annual crocodile research trip to the #SteveIrwinWildlifeReserve. Over the last month we caught 39 crocodiles, from ‘Ryan’ who tied for being the largest croc in the system at over 15 feet long to little ‘Pingu’ at just under 3 feet. This year brought the total crocs tagged to 213 in the study. This research was all started by Dad and to this day we still use the same methods of capture that he created,” the wildlife photographer wrote via Instagram in September 2020. “Our crocodile research began 17 years ago when Australia Zoo joined forces with the University of Queensland to conduct world leading science and lead the charge in crocodile conservation. And today we get to keep this vital work going, using state of the art solar tracking technology to learn even more about these amazing animals make sure Dad’s mission and passion for croc conservation continues! 🐊.” Discovery ![]() Powell told Us exclusively in September 2019 that the pair planned to incorporate khaki into their wedding in honor of Steve. Drew Barrymore Through the Years Posted: 21 Feb 2022 04:30 PM PST In the spotlight! Drew Barrymore has had her ups and downs — and they’ve all played out in the public eye. The former child star overcame a rough past and is now a Hollywood vet with more than 70 credits under her belt. The California native launched onto the entertainment scene with the 1982 sci-fi E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, which was directed by her godfather, Steven Spielberg. The following year, she presented at the Academy Awards at age 4. Barrymore was born into an acting legacy thanks to her father, John Drew Barrymore, who was an actor. Her great uncle Lionel Drew famously played Mr. Potter in Frank Capra's 1946 classic It's a Wonderful Life. The actress’ early years in Hollywood weren’t always glamorous, however. She took her first drink at 9, struggled with depression and went to a drug-and-alcohol rehab to get sober at 14. She also was estranged from her mom but recently revealed that she financially supports her. Today, Barrymore is a box office success. She’s starred in a strings of hits — including Never Been Kissed, The Wedding Singer, Charlie’s Angels and He’s Just Not That Into You. She’s added director to her résumé and made a splash on TV with Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet, which lasted three seasons from 2017 to 2019. Off set, Barrymore has had tough times with love as well. The author and Flower Beauty creator previously married Welsh bar owner Jeremy Thomas in March 1994 and was briefly married to Tom Green in 2001. Scheana Shay and Brock Davies Reveal Wedding Plans, New Engagement Pics Posted: 21 Feb 2022 03:06 PM PST Preparing for the future! As Vanderpump Rules stars Scheana Shay and Brock Davies prepare to tie the knot, the pair opened up about how different the experience was compared to their respective pasts. “I mean my first time around, I was in a different relationship — completely different. So marriage at this time around, I don’t know if this comes with the territory, like I’m not going anywhere and I don’t want to be with anybody else,” Brock, 30, exclusively told Us Weekly on Monday, February 21, about the new chapter in their lives. “So it kind of helps us build the family for me.” Scheana, for her part, revealed that there were no worries because she knew she found The One, saying, “I’m good. He’s my forever. So I’m happy. I can’t wait to marry him.” The couple, who got engaged in July 2021, teased that fans could get a glimpse at their ceremony if Vanderpump Rules gets picked up for season 10. “We don’t know anything about next season yet, but if this happens to fall in the timeline of filming then absolutely. We would welcome [it],” the “Good As Gold” singer, who previously filmed her wedding to Mike Shay on the show, shared with Us. Meanwhile, Brock joked that he expected something “to go wrong” at his nuptials if cameras covered the occasion. During season 9, the former rugby player caught some backlash for thinking about having a quiet ceremony with Scheana elsewhere during James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss‘ engagement party. The Australia native, who shares two kids with his ex-wife, noted that they would be “happy” if another couple had a special moment during their wedding, saying, “We’d be like, ‘Look, it’s a good place to do it. Not a problem. Just don’t do it as I’m saying my vows.’ Because if I’m saying my vows and I have to turn around and headbutt somebody — I will. I wouldn’t skip a beat. I’ll come back to my vows.” Although the duo are hoping to tie the knot sometime “between August and November,” they aren’t committed to a specific date yet. “We were flexible because we realized that so many people from 2020 had to reschedule their weddings and same with 2021. So we understand we’re probably not gonna get our 11/11 date that we wanted. So we’re like, ‘OK, as soon as August [and] as late as November,” Scheana told Us. “But before Thanksgiving, so everyone can travel and be home.” Scheana, who previously asked costar Ariana Madix to be her bridesmaid on her podcast, confirmed that her former boss Lisa Vanderpump will be attending as a guest, but would not be an officiant. The former SUR waitress also explained that the most important part of the wedding would be her getting to change her name to reflect her family. “I don’t know how soon we’ll get that whole process going, but that is like one of the main reasons. I mean, I wanna marry him because I love him, but one of the main reasons I wanna do it as soon as possible is just to get the process going,” Scheana, who shares 10-month-old daughter Summer with Brock, said. “I definitely want to have the same last name as my future husband and my daughter. And I realized that Summer and I will have the same initials, which is pretty.” Scroll down to see all the photos from Scheana and Brock’s beachside engagement shoot: ![]() The podcast host gushed about their growing daughter, telling Us, "I mean, she is everything and she keeps us so busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way." Who Is Sam Hunt's Estranged Wife? 5 Things to Know About Hannah Lee Fowler Posted: 21 Feb 2022 02:51 PM PST The long and winding road. Sam Hunt and Hannah Lee Fowler had many ups and downs before filing for divorce earlier this month. The duo dated on and off for nearly a decade before news broke of their engagement in January 2017. Three months later, the pair tied the knot, but after nearly five years of marriage, Us Weekly confirmed on Monday, February 21, that they had separated. The split made headlines three days after Fowler accused the "Body Like a Back Road" crooner, 37, of "inappropriate marital conduct" and "adultery" in court documents. Hunt's estranged wife, who is pregnant with their first child, filed for divorce in Tennessee on Friday, February 18, just a few months shy of their five-year wedding anniversary. Though the twosome had not publicly announced Fowler's pregnancy ahead of their split, court documents obtained by Us note that her due date is in May. While Fowler has stayed out of the limelight as much as possible, Hunt gushed over his longtime love before and after they got married in April 2017. The musician even sang Fowler's praises during a break in their relationship in 2015. "Respect for women was a very important part of my upbringing. The women in my life demanded that from me," the Georgia native told Billboard in August of that year. "I spent a lot of time talking to [Hannah] about the songs [on my debut album, Montevallo] and asking, 'What do you think about this?' Her perspective was a powerful part of me being able to connect with a female audience, not just a male audience." After the pair reconnected the following year, Hunt released his 2017 hit song, "Drinkin' Too Much," in which he apologized for bringing attention to Fowler on his first album — especially since her hometown was the record's title. “I’m sorry I named the album Montevallo / I’m sorry people know your name now / A strangers hit you up on social media,” he sings on the track. “I know you want your privacy / And you got nothing to say to me / but I wish you’d let me pay off your student loans / With these songs you gave me.” In a rare public act, Fowler seemingly showed the country crooner support in March 2020 by attending one of his shows. The outing came months after Hunt was arrested in November 2019 for a DUI. The "House Party" singer was ordered to pay a fine, complete an alcohol safety course and had his license suspended for one year. He was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail, but the Tennessean reported in August 2021 that all but 48 hours of his jail sentence were deferred. He was set to serve the remaining time in the DUI Education Centers. Scroll down to learn more about the musician's estranged wife: ![]() Fowler grew up in Montevallo, Alabama, which later inspired the name of Hunt’s debut album, Montevallo, which was released in October 2014. Chris Noth Returns to Social Media After Sexual Assault Allegations Posted: 21 Feb 2022 01:50 PM PST ![]() A subtle return. Chris Noth started to post on his social media feed again after he previously halted his activity amid sexual assault allegations. Noth, 67, shared an Instagram photo of his son Orion, 14, during a basketball game on Thursday, February 17. The actor also gushed about his son Keats, 2, on Saturday, February 19, in a birthday tribute posted to his account. The Good Wife alum’s last post was in December 2021, days before several women accused him of sexual assault. In an article published by The Hollywood Reporter, one woman, who went by the alias Zoe, alleged that Noth "rape[d] her from behind" in 2004. Another woman, who used the name Lily in the report, recalled meeting the actor in 2015 and claimed he assaulted her in his New York City apartment. The Sex and the City alum denied the allegations in a statement to Us Weekly, saying, "The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could've been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual.” Noth, who has been married to Tara Wilson since 2012, was later fired from CBS’ The Equalizer as more accusations surfaced. The Wisconsin native’s scenes in the And Just Like That season 1 finale were deleted, making his character Mr. Big’s episode 1 death scene his final appearance in the series. Before he was dropped from the HBO Max series, his costars issued a joint statement addressing the allegations against him. "We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth," read a message shared by Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis via their Instagram Stories in December 2021. "We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it much be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it." At the time, a source told Us that the Hocus Pocus star, 56, was “livid” and felt "blindsided" by the accusations. "It is not about the money, but rather her legacy. Carrie was all about helping women and now, under her watch, women are saying that they have been hurt,” the insider shared. "She takes the power of being Carrie Bradshaw very seriously. With great power comes great responsibility and although SJP knows this is about him, not her, she feels like she has let everyone down." Before the Breakup: Sam Hunt’s Ups and Downs With Hannah Lee Fowler Posted: 21 Feb 2022 01:34 PM PST A rocky road to romance. Sam Hunt and his now-estranged wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, had a love story worthy of a country song — or maybe even a whole album. After meeting in their early 20s, the country star and Fowler dated for roughly four years until he decided to move to Nashville and pursue a music career. “She was under the impression, and I had sure expressed this to her at some point, that she was the No. 1 priority. I would choose her over everything,” Hunt told The New York Times in March 2020 about the reason for their initial split. “And then it sort of turned around and I said, actually, I want to choose [my career].” Despite the breakup — and Fowler’s subsequent move to Hawaii — Hunt couldn’t let go of their memories together, even naming his debut album, Montevallo, after her hometown. “It was either [be with] her or push on as a bachelor,” the “Leave the Night On” singer recalled in a January 2017 interview with Nash Country Daily. “I realized she was meant to be a part of my life and when I realized that, as fast as I could, I went to try to convince her that was the way it needed to be.” The couple reconciled in 2016, although they have kept the exact timeline under wraps, and announced their engagement in January 2017. Around the same time, Hunt released the painfully honest ballad, “Drinking Too Much,” as a public apology to Fowler for all of the hurt he caused her during their relationship and their time apart. “I’m sorry I named the album Montevallo / I’m sorry people know your name now / And hit you up on social media,” he sings in the first verse. “I know you want your privacy / You’ve got nothing to say to me / But I wish you’d let me pay off your student loans with these songs you gave to me.” Though Hunt had Fowler’s permission to release the track on New Year’s Day 2017 — she even plays a few bars of “How Great Thou Art” on the piano near the end — the musician acknowledged that she struggled with being a public figure. "She has her own life and her ambitions and her own dreams and things are important to her, and I want to support those as much as she's supported me,” the “Breaking Up Was Easy in the ’90s” singer told Entertainment Tonight in June 2017. “I think it's been a little lopsided these first few weeks of marriage, so I owe her for sure … but she's having fun.” Despite his fame and some legal troubles — including his 2019 arrest for driving under the influence — the duo appeared to be enjoying married life and were even looking towards the future together. “We’ve been talking about [having kids] for a while, but we’ve really started thinking about it seriously here these past few months, so that’s on the agenda right now,” Hunt confessed during a July 2021 appearance on KISS Country 99.9 Miami’s TC & Dina radio show. “And I’m hoping that we’ll have some good news sooner than later.” However, the next time the “Hard to Forget” musician and Fowler made headlines was in February 2022 when Us Weekly confirmed that she filed for divorce. According to court documents, a pregnant Fowler alleged that Hunt is “guilty of inappropriate marital conduct” and “adultery.” Later in the filing, the registered nurse claims that “all hopes of reconciliation” with Hunt had been “exhausted.” Keep scrolling to relive all of Hunt and Fowler’s ups and downs through the years. ![]() The couple met in 2008, around the time when Hunt — who had previously tried out for the Kansas City Chiefs following an impressive college football career — began pursuing music. Courtesy Sam Hunt/Instagram ![]() Many of the songs on Hunt's 2014 debut album were inspired by their years-long, tumultuous romance. "I spent a lot of time talking to her about songs. I probably should have included her as a co-writer on a lot of these songs because I spent a lot of time chatting with her," the "Cop Car" singer told ABC News Radio in 2014. "I got a lot of insight into females in general from being in a close relationship with her. I used a lot of that when writing on the songs, because a lot of the songs are relationship-based." Scott Gries/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() A few years after their breakup, Hunt realized that he couldn't stop thinking about Fowler and flew to see her in Hawaii, where she was living at the time. "I think last summer I went out [to Hawaii] about seven times in about three months," the "Kinfolks" musician told Entertainment Tonight in 2017. "Trying to talk to her about coming back. And the seventh trip I convinced her." Debby Wong/Shutterstock ![]() Just two days after he dropped "Drinking Too Much," Us confirmed that Hunt and Fowler were engaged. The "Take Your Time" singer popped the question during a trip to Israel, though he confessed to radio host Bobby Bones that they had a "little disagreement" not long beforehand. "We got real for a minute, after this little rift that we had. In that moment, it just felt perfect," he said during a January 2017 appearance on The Bobby Bones Show. "Everything — after I asked her to marry me — just fizzled away, and we celebrated and got excited together." Larry Marano/Shutterstock ![]() While performing "Body Like a Back Road" at the Academy of Country Music Awards in April 2017, Hunt put the spotlight on his normally-private partner by singing to Fowler in the audience. "I told her that I might come down and sing to her; I don’t think she knew I was going to plop down next to her," he told E! News afterward. "It was her first time to an awards show like that ... so I just wanted to throw her into the deep end. But she came out, and after that she was so much more comfortable even though she didn’t enjoy those 30 seconds very much!" Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Hunt's hometown of Cedartown, Georgia, in April 2017. "We are both kind of introverted people for the most part, so we don’t like celebrating ourselves too much," the songwriter told CBS earlier that month. "If there ever is a time to do it, it is now, and it is more to celebrate the union of marriage than it is each other. I am excited about doing that.” Jim Smeal/Shutterstock ![]() Following the success of "Body Like a Back Road," Hunt took a musical and social media hiatus to focus on his marriage. "I had made myself answer the question, you know, if it comes down to it, are you willing to retire? Give all this up [for Fowler]." Hunt told The New York Times in March 2020. "I did commit to that." The "Break Up in a Small Town" singer added that he knew the attention "wore" on his wife and he wanted to ensure she felt comfortable with what he shared through his music. "One of my biggest concerns was for her not to ever think that I was trying to exploit anything from her or our relationship [but] she likes to hear the person that she knows in the songs," Hunt added. Chris Pizzello/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() In November 2020, Hunt was arrested for driving under the influence in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Officers took him into custody after he was allegedly observed driving the wrong way and swerving in and out of the lanes. His blood alcohol content was measured at .173 — well above the legal limit of .08. Hunt apologized on Twitter the following day, writing that "it was a poor and selfish decision and I apologize to everyone who was unknowingly put at risk and let down by it." Two months after his arrest, Hunt released the single "Sinning With You," which touched on some of his personal issues and how they've affected Fowler. “My past was checkered, your spotless record was probably in jeopardy / Your place or my place, his grace and your grace, felt like the same thing to me," he sings on the track. Metro Nashville Police Department ![]() In the lyrics of his sophomore album, Southside, which was released in April 2020, Hunt opened up about his relationship with Fowler and apologized for what he put her through before they reconciled. "I thought I wanted my freedom, I told myself I'd have a ball / But it turns out going out and chasing dreams and lonely women / Ain't freedom after all," the country star croons on "2016," the album's opening track. "If I could go back now and take it back somehow / I'd drive a thousand miles to your house, walk in like I walked out ... I'd take 2016 and give it back to you." Ben Hider/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() In August 2021, Us confirmed that Hunt had pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors related to his DUI arrest. He was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail, though all but 48 hours had been suspended. Hunt was expected to serve the remaining hours of his sentence in the DUI Education Centers, an alternative sentencing facility, instead of in prison. She's been candid about the fact that their relationship was rocky as they navigated young love. "Our college relationship was the typical college, I would say, relationship — where there wasn't really one because he didn't want one," the former Dawgs cheerleader said on KFC Radio in February 2022. "We went back and forth there for a little bit with a love-hate. … We were all over the place. I dated the backup [quarterback] to piss him off. That was the type of situation we were in. … He deserved it!" Things got more serious post-college, with Matthew signing with the Detroit Lions, the team he played with for 12 seasons. The twosome exchanged vows in 2015 and went on to welcome four daughters: Sawyer, Chandler, Hunter and Tyler. During Matthew's tenure in Michigan, Kelly made headlines when she put tickets to a game on StubHub. "Just an FYI: I bought those New Orleans tickets to take my family to the game, but found out at the beginning of this week my grandfather is very ill so I am going home to see him instead," she wrote via Instagram in 2015. "I'm also sorry for being HUMAN and wanting to sell the tickets we purchased because we are not able to go. We do a lot for this community and I'm beyond tired of getting badgered for this … get over yourselves." The following year, however, the couple were praised for giving away free tickets to first responders in Detroit. During Matthew's first season with the Rams, Kelly made a public plea for L.A. fans not to sell their NFC championship tickets to 49ers supporters, buying a reported $250,000 worth of tickets to give away. "I have never seen so many of the opposing team's fans at a game," she said on her "The Morning After with Kelly Stafford" podcast in 2022. "And we came from Detroit, and there are a lot of good traveling teams there, but that was wild … It was crazy. I've never seen anything like that, but it made it very hard for us." While the duo had a lot to celebrate after the Rams won Super Bowl LVI, a video of Matthew seemingly walking away from an injured photographer after she fell off a platform at the February 2022 parade subsequently went viral. "We have been in communication with Kelly Smiley since yesterday's incident and we are sorry for what happened," the couple and the Rams said in a joint statement at the time, noting they would cover her medical bills. Scroll through for a breakdown of the controversial moments: ![]() The podcast host apologized for previous comments she made about Colin Kaepernick protesting racial injustice via kneeling during the national anthem. “When Kaepernick knelt during the national anthem, I had strong feelings about it. Even when he kept saying it had nothing to do with the flag or military, I didn’t listen. I kept not listening to him or anyone else and let the political rhetoric persuade me that him kneeling was disrespectful to our military,” she wrote during summer 2020, revealing that the Stafford family was donating $350,000 to “endow a social justice program” for UGA at athletics. “Over the past several months, I have opened my ears, mind, and heart and it has opened my eyes to see how wrong I was and for that I am sorry. … We are proud to be a part of this program and we will keep fighting to help end this social injustice. Black Lives Matter.” Courtesy of Kelly Stafford/Instagram ![]() In August 2020, Kelly revealed that she was about to “lose my s—t” after a “nightmare” couple of days after Matthew falsely tested positive for COVID-19. “I have been losing my mind because of how my Family has been treated since my husband was put on the Covid-IR list. Even after we knew it was a false positive, I was approached in a grocery store told I was ‘endangering others,’ my kids were harassed and kicked off a playground, I was told I needed to wait in my car when trying to pick up food, and people closest to us had to get tested just so they could go back to work … and that’s just to name a few things,” she said at the time. Kelly added: “I blame the @NFL for not holding themselves accountable. These are people’s lives and livelihoods that are in those results in THEIR test sites. Maybe we should be absolutely positive a person has covid before releasing that info to the world. I’m sharing our experience because I don’t want it happening to any other family that plays for this league.” Courtesy of Kelly Stafford/Instagram ![]() The Georgia native was under fire in November 2020 for referring to Michigan as a “dictatorship” amid coronavirus restrictions. “I understand there’s a pandemic, and I understand it’s very scary. I’m scared of it, too. If you are at risk, do not leave your house until there’s a vaccine,” she said via Instagram at the time. “Shutting down all these small businesses, things that people have worked their life for, shutting them down again is not the answer, because they will not make it, so once we are able to leave our house, once this dictatorship decides to let us have some freedom, there will be nothing left. I’m just over it.” Kelly later apologized, acknowledging that she "should never have used the word 'dictatorship.’” She continued: “I got caught up in the heat of the moment, that is my fault. i don't know the answer and i won't pretend to. i care about the people who are losing their lives or battling this … and also the medical staff who care for them. and it is hard knowing these local business owners and watching them struggle and having to lay off their employees, not knowing how they are gonna make it. so i'm sorry. i let my emotions get the best of me. i love michigan and the people here … don't get that twisted ... This place was my rock during my tough times. and i wish there was an answer that pleased everyone but we know that is definitely not the case." Courtesy of Kelly Stafford/Instagram ![]() Kelly isn’t the first — and likely won’t be the last — spouse to call out refs via social media. In 2019, she reposted an image of Aaron Rodgers and Packers fans celebrating a win against the Lions, alluding to the officials as the reason Green Bay won writing, “They are missing their most valuable players of the night in this picture…” In 2021, she wrote via Instagram Stories, “Do refs get fined for bulls—t calls? If not, they 10000% should.” Courtesy of Kelly Stafford/Instagram ![]() During Matthew’s first season with the Rams, Kelly was asked to leave SoFi Stadium after she threw a soft pretzel at a San Francisco 49ers fan who was trolling over the game. "I'm an idiot. He was saying a bunch of things that were aggressive towards our crew but zero excuse," she posted via social media after the November 2021 incident. "I tried to apologize, but in the end I knew I was wrong. Will always stand up for my guy and everyone I love, but obviously needed to do it completely different! … I’m embarrassed too! Sorry you had to witness me in my weak moment!" Courtesy of Kelly Stafford/Instagram ![]() While Kelly rushed to see if the photographer who fell at the Super Bowl parade — Kelly Smiley — was OK, it appeared that Matthew wanted no part in the situation. In their statement, the spouses and the Rams noted, “As we told Kelly, we will be covering all her hospital bills and replacing her cameras. We wish her a speedy recovery.” Courtesy of Kelly Stafford/Instagram |
Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark Are ‘Still in Communication’ After Their Split Posted: 21 Feb 2022 01:19 PM PST Keeping things civil. Two months after Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark called off their engagement, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly that they are “still in communication” with each other. “There are some lingering matters between them that haven’t been resolved yet. They were working on projects together, planning things, and it seems like there isn’t closure yet,” an insider shares with Us, noting that the former Bachelorette, 31, isn’t “very responsive” to Clark, 36, as she attempts to move forward. The addiction specialist isn’t attempting to win back his ex-fiancée, the source explains, saying, “It’s more him still having to figure things out post-split between what they had and also move on from the bond she had with his family and friends.” Even though Clark “gets a bit emotional” when he brings Adams up, he is also ready to start fresh following their breakup. The former reality TV couple fell in love when Adams stepped in to replace Clare Crawley during season 16 of The Bachelorette in 2020. After walking away from the season engaged, Clark opened up about the challenges they faced in their long-distance romance. "We're both passionate, driven, busy human beings. And with that, we need to remind ourselves to work each other into it and we've done [that]," he told Us in April 2021. "So yeah, a couple months after, there was some ups and downs, of course, and, like, well-documented, but at the end of the day, it's all good right now." The New Jersey native pointed out that there was no rush to tie the knot, adding, "Obviously, there's wedding plans. There are plans to get married, but it's been a wild start to the year.” Later that year, Adams and Clark sparked split rumors after the former “Click Bait” podcast host was spotted without her engagement ring. Us confirmed that the ABC personalities called it quits in November 2021, with a rep saying that they were “no longer a couple.” ![]() That same month, the California native broke her silence while hosting The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All special alongside Kaitlyn Bristowe. "All I have to say is that I'm heartbroken. But we tried really hard and I still love him very much and I'm not sure what the future holds,” Adams, who cohosted seasons 17 and 18 of The Bachelorette, said at the time. “You know how it is, it's really tough." The Bachelor in Paradise alum later admitted that she wasn’t ready to discuss her personal life with the public. "I really said all I had to say on that stage. I don't really have anything to add to it just because I'm still going through it all. And yeah, I spoke my peace. And one day, when I feel like I have more to say, I'm sure we can talk about it all,” Adams explained later that month on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast. "It was just very heavy, but I had a job to do at the same time, and so I'm really happy I was able to be surrounded by all of you guys and be supported by that. But it doesn't make any of that easier." Since their decision to part ways, the source explained that the duo haven’t “cut each other out of their lives completely,” noting, “There isn’t bad blood between them, they just aren’t close anymore.” |
Everything Kelly Clarkson Has Said About Her Split From Brandon Blackstock Posted: 21 Feb 2022 12:37 PM PST Keeping it real. Kelly Clarkson surprised some when she filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock on June 4, 2020, after nearly seven years of marriage. At the time, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the former couple "clashed on so many levels and being in quarantine together [amid the coronavirus pandemic] heightened their problems to the point of no return." The insider added that the pair, who tied the knot in October 2013 and later welcomed two children, daughter River Rose and son Remington, "definitely didn't" have a perfect marriage. "Brandon's very laid-back, whereas Kelly's pretty high-strung," the source explained. The former American Idol winner made it clear in April 2015 that Blackstock wasn't her "other half," noting that the two did, however, have a lot in common. "He's a whole and I'm a whole," the "Miss Independent" singer told Redbook at the time. "I've never believed in someone taking care of me, and that's probably because I grew up poor and without a lot of family stability." Clarkson added: "We put each other first. I call it the oxygen-mask mentality — take care of yourself first!" Since calling it quits, Clarkson has been even more open about her dynamic with her estranged husband and how she's feeling amid the breakup. "I mean, it's no secret. My life has been a little bit of a dumpster," the Grammy winner said in September during an interview on Sunday Today With Willie Geist. "Personally, it's been a little hard the last couple months." When it comes to their family, however, the Voice coach has vowed to use discretion. In addition to their two children, Blackstock is father of two children, Savannah and Seth, from his previous marriage to Melissa Ashworth. "What I am dealing with is hard because it involves more than just my heart. It involves a lot of little hearts," the "Already Gone" singer said during the season 2 premiere of The Kelly Clarkson Show in September. "We have four kids and divorce is never easy. We're both from divorced families, so we know the best thing here is to protect our children and their little hearts." Scroll down to see what the "Since U Been Gone" singer has said about her split from Blackstock. ![]() The River Rose and the Magical Lullaby author opened up about her life amid the coronavirus quarantine — ahead of her split announcement — calling herself “an emotional roller-coaster.” Clarkson told Glamour UK in a YouTube video posted in June 2020, but seemingly filmed before her divorce news broke, that “this has been really hard as a working parent ‘cause I’m still doing all the same jobs. It’s been exhausting, honestly.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() After winning a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for the first season of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the singer gave her estranged husband a shout-out. “Thank you so much to @BBlackstock for believing in me & convincing me to do @KellyClarksonTV show and @lifeofT for being the greatest friend/assistant,” she wrote via Instagram in June 2020. Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() Clarkson shut down a social media troll in August 2020, who claimed her marriage to Blackstock ended because she was fame hungry. The exchange began after the “Heartbeat Song” artist tweeted at America’s Got Talent judges Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum, as she filled in for Simon Cowell after his back injury. “Now Kelly is taking Simon’s place…no wonder her marriage didn’t work,” the Twitter user wrote after seeing the singer’s tweet. “Surprise she has time for her kids…not the good old country girl we fell in love with…it’s all about Kelly being on tv…and no one else…no tears for her…but for her kids.” The Voice coach quickly fired back, tweeting, “Wow. Shaming a woman who has a great work ethic, is a great mom, and who steps up and fills in when a friend asks for a favor because that’s actually what ‘good old country girls’ do…. This can’t be who you are deep down. I have more faith in your heart. Aim higher please.” Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock ![]() The musician revealed during an interview on Sunday Today With Willie Geist in September 2020 that making her upcoming album was helpful in dealing with her breakup. “This next record, this will probably be the most personal one I’ve ever released,” the Texas native teased. “The whole record is basically every emotion you experience from the beginning of a relationship to the end of what it is now or where it is now. It’s been very therapeutic for me. It’s very honest.” Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() “I am a very open person, but I’m not going to be able to be truly open about this in certain aspects because there’s kids involved,” Clarkson told the Los Angeles Times in an interview published in September 2020, when discussing her breakup. “I think that I will navigate a way in which to be open and honest about it eventually, probably via [The Kelly Clarkson Show], and it’ll probably, I’m assuming, happen organically when someone says something in conversation or something. It definitely wouldn’t be planned.” Shutterstock ![]() While chatting with Willie Geist in September 2020, the Trolls World Tour actress got real about her life post-split. “I mean, it’s no secret. My life has been a little bit of a dumpster,” she said. “Personally, it’s been a little hard the last couple months.” Clarkson added: “I’ve been talking to friends that have been through divorce. I don’t know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet because it is the worst thing ever for everyone involved.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() “You can ask anyone who’s gone through a divorce, I don’t think anyone expects it,” the Grammy winner told Hoda Kotb during an interview on Today in September 2020. “You see yourself growing old with someone and then life has a different path. It’s so hard on everyone, and you know me, I’m really open. I try to be open and share … It’s just a tricky thing to navigate.” The “A Moment Like This” singer also explained how divorce affects everyone, not just the two people separating. “We all go through things,” she continued. “But at the same time, we have four kids total with each other. That’s a lot of hearts involved, and you just have to be really careful. … We’re in the public eye so that’s hard too, to try and be truthful but also keep your privacy.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() When kicking off season 2 of The Kelly Clarkson Show in September 2020, the “Love So Soft” artist opened up about her rough couple of months. “Let’s just get this out of the way, 2020 has been a dumpster fire. That’s really what it feels like,” she explained. “2020 has brought a lot of change also to my personal life. Definitely didn’t see anything coming that came.” The UglyDolls actress continued: “What I am dealing with is hard because it involves more than just my heart. It involves a lot of little hearts. We have four kids and divorce is never easy. We’re both from divorced families, so we know the best thing here is to protect our children and their little hearts. I’m usually very open, and I usually talk about everything, but in this case, I will talk a little bit here and there about how it affects me personally, but probably won’t go too far into it. Because, you know, I’m a mamma bear and my kids come first.” Eric Charbonneau/Shutterstock ![]() The American Idol winner revealed in September 2020 that she’s turned to fellow Voice coach John Legend’s Bigger Love album as a source of light to get through her breakup, revealing the “sexy songs” are her go-to tracks. “This is a testament of how good this album is,” Clarkson said on the season two premiere of The Kelly Clarkson Show. “I started this show saying, ‘Hey, my personal life is kind of like [mimes explosion].’ And so, I’m just saying, if this album can be so great for someone like me that’s really wanting some Joni Mitchell, Alanis Morissette at this point, it’s a great album.” Willy Sanjuan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Clarkson admitted that she was grateful to have plenty of helping hands when it comes to her kids. "I have a great family and friends that are there for me," she explained to Extra in October 2020. "It's a very hard thing to navigate, to be able to be honest and share your story, so maybe you can help someone else [by speaking up], but at the same time protecting these little kids you adore. ... We have a lot of help as far as therapists or child psychologists because we want to do it right. Everyone's sad and it's OK to be sad." Courtesy Kelly Clarkson/Instagram ![]() Following the breakup, Clarkson gave brutally honest dating advice to a fan whose crush only messaged her through Instagram. “I don’t understand why you'd want to be with someone who only does it in front of people. That’s my thing,” she said on The Kelly Clarkson Show in October 2020. “Like, if they’re only going to show you they care in front of people … you need to know what’s happening behind closed doors, not in front of the doors, because that’s who you're going to be with.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() “It’s horrible. There are so many hard parts. The hardest for me is the kids. That’s the hardest for me,” the singer said on The Kelly Clarkson Show in December 2020. I looked at Kevin in our art department and I was like, 'Please help me make this make sense,'" Clarkson said after Drescher described her own 1999 divorce. "I just wanted to feel happy. The colors make me feel very good." Weiss Eubanks/NBCUniversal ![]() During a thoughtful conversation about songwriting with Garth Brooks on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the Texas native admitted that her song "Piece By Piece" has taken on new meaning amid her split. "I wrote this song for my daughter and my husband at the time and little did I know it was only a piece of this whole puzzle," Clarkson said in December 2020. "Because now ... literally, there's a lyric on my new album in a song called 'Rock Hudson,' and it's like, 'By the way, piece by piece, I found out my hero's me.'" The Voice coach also revealed that Brooks' music has also resonated with her as her life moves in a new direction. "I kid you not, I was listening to my playlist and 'The Dance' came on and I was like, 'No, that's the thing. That's it,'" she said. "I think what's interesting about it is, I sang that song from childhood and it never hit me. ... [Now] I got the point." Weiss Eubanks/NBCUniversal ![]() In February 2021, the talk show host bonded with guest Khloé Kardashian about the struggles of coparenting. “It’s tough," she admitted on The Kelly Clarkson Show. "I know with me and Brandon, it’s just a difficult thing because we’re in different places, and it’s like, we both agree on the main things, but it’s a hard thing when you’re not together all the time, for me personally.” Weiss Eubanks/NBC ![]() While speaking with Gwyneth Paltrow during a March 2021 episode of her talk show, Clarkson admitted she's not sure she'd marry again. “Coming from someone who’s literally amidst a divorce, I can’t even imagine doing it again," she said. "So that’s amazing that you found love, and you found the space and the vulnerability — that level to say yes, and do it again. Was that hard for you?” Weiss Eubanks/NBCUniversal ![]() During her talk show, Clarkson admitted that she prefers a coffee date over a cocktail. "I might be more of a coffee person. "I’m gonna be real with y’all — when I wrote this next song, I was crying my face off, which happens even at Christmastime, everyone. I had just put my kids to bed and I was just going through it, having a really hard time, and it’s been a really tough year for a lot of us. And I wrote this song for me, but also because there aren’t many holiday songs for people feeling alone or lost or just plain sad other than Dolly Parton’s classic ‘Hard Candy Christmas,’ which we all love. It’s about getting through a tough holiday. I absolutely love that song and it allowed me to write this.” NBC ![]() During an appearance on the “Love Someone with Delilah” podcast in December 2021, the "Since U Been Gone" singer said she has no regrets amid her divorce. "Also I feel like that’s what shapes you, it’s what makes you a better person, it’s what makes you recognize: ‘OK I missed those red flags, I missed that, I ignored that on purpose,’" she shared, before adding that she's not ready to date again. "I don’t think you have to have someone with you all the time. I really do enjoy my work, my kids, my creative self, that sometimes — I got stifled. Like in relationships, it’s hard to be as creative as I can because I wear my heart on my sleeve, so I really enjoy [being single]. ... Maybe in the future, you never know — well, I do know I won’t get married again — but you never know about love. I think we’re engineered, especially from where I’m from, to have to have that, and I don’t have that need. And I think that’s also what you learn about yourself in those hard moments.” Weiss Eubanks/NBCUniversal ![]() The "My Life Would Suck Without You" singer was honest about the difficulties of being a single parent after quarantining with her children in February 2022. "Sometimes women don’t rise. Sometimes we fall," Clarkson jokingly told guest host Taraji P. Henson during an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show. "I thought we were done with quarantining, and I’m so tired. I broke a nail. I’m so broken. This is me broken. My almond milk just expired. America, this is what I look like. You’re welcome." Erika Jayne Sued, Allegedly 'Aided and Abetted' Tom Girardi's 'Scheme' Posted: 21 Feb 2022 12:04 PM PST Update 2/21 at 3:00 p.m. ET: Erika’s lawyer responded to the latest lawsuit filed against her in a statement to Us, claiming, “The complaint is another misguided effort to blame Erika for the conduct of others in which she had no part. Erika has no law degree and never worked at or managed her former husband’s law firm. Whatever Mr. Girardi or others at his law firm did or said to the plaintiffs in this case, Erika had no knowledge or role in any of it. The focus should be on Mr. Girardi, his law firm and anyone else who enabled what he did. Piling on Erika may generate publicity, but it’s without any basis in law or fact.” Original story below: The drama continues. Erika Jayne is being sued in yet another lawsuit amid her ongoing legal woes with estranged husband Tom Girardi. Documents filed on Thursday, February 17, and obtained by Us Weekly, claim that Erika, 50, “knew about the scheme” allegedly conducted by Girardi, 82, to withhold money from clients. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is being sued for aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty and for financial elder abuse. Attorney Manuel H. Miller and Kathleen Bajgrowicz claim in their complaint that the Broadway performer “aided and abetted Girardi’s breach of fiduciary duty and has direct liability for participating in and facilitating the conduct.” The “victims” of the former lawyer’s supposed wrongdoings “were funding [Erika’s] notoriously lavish lifestyle chronicled on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” the docs allege. Miller and Bajgrowicz, the mother of the late NFL star Chuck Osborne, are suing for $277,630.40 and $1,889,150.50, respectively. Osborne died in 2012 after repeated head trauma, and Bajgrowicz was jointly represented by Girardi and Miller when she sued the NFL over her son’s death. The attorneys agreed to share their fees. When a settlement was reached with the league, Girardi was allegedly tasked with distributing the money to Bajgrowicz and Miller. “Unknown to Plaintiffs, Girardi had already taken their money and breached his and the firm’s fiduciary duty to distribute the funds to Plaintiffs,” the pair claim in their lawsuit, accusing the Colorado native of “lull[ing] Plaintiffs into believing that the funds could not be distributed to anyone until various issues were first resolved.” Bajgrowicz and Miller allege that Erika was “intimately involved” with her then-husband’s business and “should be required to compensate Plaintiffs for the harm” that was supposedly inflicted. The Bravo personality was married to Girardi for more than 20 years before filing for divorce in November 2020. Amid their split, the twosome were slammed with multiple lawsuits accusing them of embezzling money and defrauding clients. Erika’s ups and downs were documented on season 11 of RHOBH as she continued to maintain her innocence. ![]() “This has been the darkest part of my life,” she said of her legal woes during an appearance on E!’s Daily Pop earlier this month. “Just the most desperate, most afraid I’ve ever been in my life. Most unsure, most volatile.” The Pretty Mess author continued: “I’ve been angry, I’ve been sad, I’ve been happy, I’ve been everything. And it’s really challenged me to my core.” Erika claimed that she’s unfairly held the brunt of the backlash, adding, “You know, when they can’t get to that man, then they turn to his partner. … I think that I have taken a lot of the attention that should be for other people.” Last month, the Dancing With the Stars alum scored a small victory when the complaints against her in Illinois were “dismissed without prejudice and without cause.” Though there’s still a long way to go, Erika is “in a better place,” according to costar Dorit Kemsley. “She went through a lot and I think she’s coming out the other side and she’s feeling better and feeling stronger,” she told Us exclusively in January. “I think it’s still, you know, a battle and it’s not over, but I think that she is doing better and better.” |
Director James Gunn Is Engaged to 'Peacemaker' Star Jennifer Holland Posted: 21 Feb 2022 11:52 AM PST Ready to walk down the aisle! Several celebrity couples took their love to the next level in 2022 by getting engaged. Josh Duhamel popped the question to Audra Mari in January after two years of dating. The actor was previously married to Fergie from 2009 to 2019, and the exes share son Axl, whom they welcomed in August 2013. "They are both really good people and committed to their son, but they are too different to make it work," a source told Us Weekly in September 2017 shortly after the duo confirmed their split. Fergie opened up in October 2017 about calling it quits with Duhamel. "It wasn't my plan," she said on The Wendy Williams Show at the time. "I wanted to stay married forever." A year later, the Las Vegas alum hinted at his desire to remarry. "I want to have more kids in the next few years. So it's more about finding someone young enough to have kids," he explained on the "Armchair Expert" podcast in December 2018. "It's not as if I'm out there just trying to f–k anything. That's really not who I am. I'm trying to find a girl that I can be with and have a family with, you know?" Duhamel also reflected on his failed romance with Fergie at the time. "Ferg and I had a great relationship. I love that girl and I always will. Unfortunately, we didn't work, but I will always have her back and she is the mother of my baby," he shared. "She's awesome. So I'm just trying to find somebody. That's kind of what I'm looking for." After the Transformers star posted on social media about his betrothal to Mari, the former Black Eyed Peas member wished her ex-husband well. "Congrats!!!" she commented via Instagram, adding six green heart emojis. Jeremiah Duggar, meanwhile, announced his engagement to Hannah Wissmann in January. The news came three months after the pair revealed their courtship. "Never been so happy. Never felt so blessed!!" the 19 Kids and Counting alum gushed via Instagram in October 2021. "Getting to know each other has been one of the greatest joys of our lives! We are excited to start sharing our story with all of you and to see what God has in store for our future. #mygirlfriend." Courteney Cox Reflects on How Matthew Perry 'Struggled’ During 'Friends' Posted: 21 Feb 2022 10:51 AM PST ![]() Friends forever. Courteney Cox is reflecting on the "pressure" Friends costar Matthew Perry was under during his time on the hit series — as well as how the actor is doing today. In an interview with The Times of London on Sunday, February 20, the Scream star, 57, opened up about a specific comment that her onscreen husband, 52, made at the Friends HBO reunion special in May 2021. During the reunion, the Whole Nine Yards actor — who famously played Chandler Bing on the series — said he "felt like I was going to die if [the audience] didn't laugh" while filming the NBC comedy. Of this, Cox noted in the February 20 interview, "That was a lot of pressure he put on himself. That’s a lot to think how much he relied on that for his own self-worth." "He's just struggled for a while," the actress, who portrayed Monica Geller, added. "I think he's doing great now." The Fools Rush In star has spoken candidly about his substance abuse over the years. The Massachusetts native dealt with a Vicodin addiction and alcohol addiction while on the '90s sitcom, during which he went to rehab twice. In 2011, seven years after Friends went off the air, Perry checked into treatment again. He later transformed his Malibu home into Perry House, a men's sober living facility. The comedic actor is currently working on a memoir titled Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, which is set to be released in November. Earlier this month, a source exclusively told Us Weekly what's in store with Perry's autobiography. "He wants to recount his experiences, both good and bad, to help others and set the record straight over a number of incidents that were either untold until now, taken out of context or in some cases totally twisted the wrong way and needing complete clarification," the insider claimed. "He'll delve into his addictions, of course, plus clear up rumors about his feelings for the Friends costars. Plus, he'll discuss what went wrong in a number of his past relationships," the source continued. "It wasn't always a bed of roses for Matthew on and off the Friends set, and Matt isn't going to sugarcoat the tougher times that he went through with the cast. He'll also discuss what it was like at the reunion, both good and bad." Perry's appearance at the reunion — which also featured castmates Cox, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc — caused some concern among viewers after he appeared to be slurring his words occasionally. But Friends producer Kevin Bright told The Hollywood Reporter in May 2021 that there was nothing to worry about. "What people say is what people say. I don't have any to say about that, except it was great to see him," he explained. "I think he's OK. “He seems stronger and better since the last time I saw him, and excited about going forward." |
Aaron Rodgers Reflects on Love Amid Shailene Woodley Split Posted: 21 Feb 2022 10:50 AM PST Prioritizing love. Aaron Rodgers shared some inspirational words about relationships less than a week after his split from Shailene Woodley was confirmed. The NFL star, 38, shared an image of a tweet from Aubrey Marcus, a motivational speaker, via his Instagram Story on Sunday, February 20, along with two red heart emojis. “The rarest gift you can give, is Love,” the Own the Day, Own Your Life author wrote before sharing an inspirational quote. “I Love you no matter what, just as you are, and you are always forgiven,” the image reads. “I expect nothing and am grateful for everything. I give you the truth only and always. You are learning in the perfect way.” ![]() Marcus added via Twitter, “Give this give to yourself first.” Alongside the Instagram image of the tweet, the “Aubrey Marcus Podcast” host added, “There are a lot of ways we try to show Love. There are even books written about ‘love languages.’ But Love in its raw and wild form needs no translation. It just is. Give Love and you give the gift of a king or queen, at the price any pauper can pay.” The meaningful words about feelings of the heart come shortly after multiple sources confirmed to Us Weekly on Wednesday, February 16, that Rodgers split from the Big Little Lies star, 30. The breakup news broke after Rodgers accepted his fourth MVP award at the NFL Honors ceremony on February 11 without a mention of Woodley. He had announced their engagement at the same event a year prior when he thanked his “fiancée” for her support. The quarterback kept his speech strictly professional at the Tampa, Florida, ceremony this year. "Shailene has been super busy with work," a source exclusively told Us after the split, noting that Rodgers is always "focused" on football. The insider continued, "Everything was so different during lockdown, and they had been living in their bubble. Friends of Shailene didn't believe Aaron is the best match for her." The Green Bay Packers player previously insisted that they could handle a little distance. "I think it's going to be a good thing. I mean, her work was shut down for an entire year [during the coronavirus pandemic], and she's booked a number of projects," he told Haute Living in September 2021. "She enjoys working and her own routine, which I obviously enjoy, too." However, another source explained that after getting caught up in their whirlwind romance and engagement, a little time apart made them realize they just weren’t life partners. “They thought were a good match for each other in the beginning but the more they got to know each other they realized their careers, their interests [and] their political views weren't aligned,” the insider explained. The breakup was low-key, the source said to Us, with no grudges held by the Descendants star or Rodgers. “It was an amicable split and they are on good terms now." |
Celebrity Couples Who Got Engaged and Married Within 12 Months Posted: 21 Feb 2022 10:43 AM PST When you know, you know! Through the years, countless celebrities have been bitten by the love bug — hard and fast. While couples traditionally spend months, even years, planning their weddings after getting engaged, it's not totally uncommon for Hollywood to do it differently. Take Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer for example: Just three days after the chef popped the question to the comedian in bed ("He kind of threw the ring box at me and he goes, 'I got you this,'" she later recalled), they exchanged vows during a super low-key ceremony in Malibu in 2018. "Most of the guests found out the wedding was happening from a text Amy sent," a source told Us Weekly exclusively at the time. "It was, 'Hey, this is happening. If you can make it, great. If not, no worries.' … It was very laid-back — just how Chris and Amy wanted it." Of course, Schumer and Fischer were not the first — nor the last — celebrities to get engaged and married within a 12-month period. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries did it in 2011, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline in 2004 and Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin in 2018. In October 2021, Meghan King married President Joe Biden's nephew Cuffe Owens just weeks after they sparked their romance. “We connected on a dating app, texted for a day or two, then spent five straight hours on the phone the first time we spoke,” the former Real Housewives of Orange County star told Brides after her nuptials took fans by surprise. “By the time that call ended, Cuffe was booked and packed for a flight to St. Louis that took off in about eight hours. Within a week, we were back on the East Coast, meeting his family, and starting to plan our future together. We didn't leave each other's side for weeks.” Multiple sources later told Us that the duo had known each other for less than one month before they walked down the aisle in Pennsylvania. While some of the lovebirds' whirlwind romances quickly came crumbling down, others are still going strong today (here's to you, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen). 'Siesta Key' Cast's Dating Histories: A Guide to Who's Hooked Up With Who Posted: 21 Feb 2022 10:27 AM PST Finding love on the beach! Since its 2017 debut on MTV, Siesta Key has featured hookups, breakups, makeups and everything in between. When the show debuted, Alex Kompothecras was at the center. He was introduced as the most popular guy in the Florida town and had worked his charm on many of the women in the area. Before the show began filming, he had a relationship with his lifelong friend Madisson Hausburg and went on to date Juliette Porter and Kelsey Owens before settling down and starting a family with Alyssa Salerno. Madisson, for her part, had an up-and-down journey of her own, dating Brandon Gomes until he cheated. She eventually settled down with the last person anyone expected: the show’s former producer Ish Soto who is 20 years older than her. "It's been a really, really tough journey with, like, social media and just, like, having everyone, you know, constantly tear something that you cherish so much," Madisson told Us Weekly exclusively in May 2021. "It's really tough. I mean, I'm so grateful that people care and want to, you know, put their two cents in and have their opinions and, like, are so invested in our show. But at the same time, like, it's really hard to put ourselves out there and then to get so much criticism in return.” Over the course of the show, fans saw her get emotional when talking about the couple’s future with her family, who didn’t always support the relationship. Eventually, her parents came around and the twosome got engaged in 2020, but had a difficult time planning amid the coronavirus pandemic. "It's a struggle for sure," she said at the time. "It's weird to plan a wedding. We can't have, you know, groups of a hundred people. I wouldn't feel comfortable with that. And I know he wouldn't. So it's tough to plan the dream wedding when you're in COVID." After a season of talking about how much she couldn’t wait to become a mother, Madisson announced her first pregnancy in August 2021.
