90 Day Fiance’s Colt Johnson and Mom Debbie’s Ups and Downs

Posted: 25 Feb 2022 12:07 PM PST

While Colt Johnson has faced plenty of highs and lows in his love life while starring on 90 Day Fiancé, his dynamic with his mother, Debbie Johnson, has perhaps been the most turbulent.

Colt first appeared on the TLC reality show during season 6, which aired from late 2018 to early 2019. The episodes documented his relationship with Larissa Dos Santos Lima, whom he met on an online dating website. Colt flew to Mexico and Brazil to spend time with Larissa, proposing 11 days after he met her in person. The Brazil native moved to Las Vegas, and the couple tied the knot in the summer of 2018. Colt filed for divorce in January 2019, and they finalized the proceedings in April 2019.

Amid Colt's relationship drama with Larissa, Debbie often interfered in their marriage and made her feelings about her daughter-in-law known. However, the matriarch was not thrilled when Colt moved on with girlfriend Jess Caroline either.

"I don't think Larissa is evil. I mean, I don't think she is not," Debbie exclusively told Us Weekly in July 2020. "She's a different type of person, and she can't help some of the things that she does and … it's just the way she is. She can't help it, but I think Jess just has a plan."

Debbie seemed more approving of Colt's wife, Vanessa Guerra. After the pair announced their engagement in May 2021, Vanessa shared that Debbie was "super happy" about it.

"I was nervous about that one," Vanessa told Us at the time. "I was like, 'Oh, what's she going to think?' She was very, very happy."

Colt added that his mom "had some reservations" before he proposed to Vanessa, but she was "very, very happy" once the duo were engaged.

Amid her romance with Colt, Vanessa moved in with him — and Debbie. "We all live here. My mother and Vanessa and I, we share the same house," he explained to Us in May 2021. "So we'll see where that goes, but so far so good. We all get along pretty well."

Vanessa insisted at the time that her dynamic with Debbie only got better after living with her. "Sometimes, you know, Colt gets on my nerves and I'm like, 'Debbie, let's go get some lunch or something. Get away from him,'" she joked, as Colt agreed that the women had become "more buddy-buddy."

Although Debbie and Vanessa started out on solid footing, Colt revealed in January 2022 that he and his wife separated because of his mother's interference.

"I just feel very smothered because you're constantly in Colt's face," Vanessa told Debbie during the 90 Day: The Single Life season 2 tell-all. "If I need him, you're in his face."

Scroll through the gallery below to revisit Colt and Debbie's ups and downs through the years:

Close From the Get-Go
Debbie divulged during a November 2021 episode of 90 Day: The Single Life that her doctor once told her she likely could not have children, so she was surprised when she found out she was pregnant with Colt.  “Colt and I have always had a really close relationship. He is my miracle baby,” she said. “Colt was born really early. He was not expected to live. When he was born, he was on oxygen. He was on a ventilator for another four or five months. Thank God he came through, so Colt and I kind of have a special bond between us.”   Discovery+
Alternate Education
Colt detailed during a 2021 episode of 90 Day: The Single Life what it was like to be homeschooled by Debbie as a child. “My mother and I have been very close my whole life,” he noted. “She was my teacher for many years, and she’s important to me. I was homeschooled by my mom for middle school [and] high school. There’s definitely a stereotype with homeschooled kids being weird or socially awkward.”   He added: “I do feel like being homeschooled kind of sheltered me in some ways, especially dating. I was a late bloomer in life.” Courtesy of Deborah Johnson/Instagram
Grieving Together
Debbie and Colt grew even closer after her husband and his father, Harley, died of a massive heart attack in 2008. She explained their tight bond in a 2021 teaser for 90 Day: The Single Life.  “How would I describe it? Helicopter mother,” she said. “Colt’s there for me and I’m there for him. I look out for him when he’s wrong or when he makes a mistake, goes down the wrong road, which unfortunately he has a habit of doing.”   Courtesy of Deborah Johnson/Instagram
Her Feud With Larissa
Debbie had bad blood with Larissa throughout her marriage to Colt. Debbie interjected in the pair’s drama, often fighting with Larissa and taking control of Colt’s finances. Debbie even claimed via Instagram in May 2019 that Larissa would “be deported” following her divorce from Colt, which Larissa’s lawyer denied at the time. Debbie’s issues with Larissa ultimately contributed to the messy split.   Discovery+
Not a Fan of Jess Either
Debbie was no more pleased with Colt’s romance with Jess. “I met Jess. She seemed to be in a little bit of a hurry about getting married,” Debbie said during a 2020 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? “I will do everything in my power to sabotage his relationship.”  The 90 Day Bares All star clued Jess in on Colt’s friendship with Vanessa, which led to tension between the couple. Jess eventually broke up with Colt after learning that he was cheating on her with Vanessa.  Debbie clarified her feelings toward Jess in July 2020. “I think she’s probably a very nice girl,” she told Us. “I think that she’s wrong for Colt. I think she went after Colt for the wrong reasons and I just don’t think they were a good match, but I’m sure she’d be perfect for someone else.” Discovery+
Not Going Anywhere
As Colt and Vanessa reconsidered their living arrangement with Debbie, he opened up about maintaining his close bond with his mom. “My mother’s definitely getting older, and I’m getting older. I’m not going to abandon her or leave her anywhere,” he told Screen Rant in March 2021. “I still want to make sure that her needs and comforts are met, and her quality of life [is good]. … I can’t imagine my life without my mother close by at this point.”   Discovery+
Out of the Loop
During the May 2021 90 Day: The Single Life season 1 tell-all, Colt and Vanessa dropped the bombshell that they secretly got married, noting that he did not even tell Debbie about the elopement before taping the reunion. “I wanted something just for Vanessa and I,” he said. “It was very important that I showed Vanessa that it was just for her and I.”   Debbie claimed at the time that she was OK with not being let in on the major development. “As long as they’re happy [and] they did what they want, I’m perfectly fine with it,” she insisted. “I went to his first wedding and it didn’t end well. Maybe this is better. It shows how independent they are.”  Discovery+
Breaking Up Another Marriage?
Colt and Vanessa blamed Debbie for their separation in January 2022. “I’m upset that you just can’t do anything by yourself. I’m the first person, the first call, the first everything with you,” he told his mother during the 90 Day: The Single Life season 2 tell-all. “You’ve raised me to be just a subservient person to you. … I shouldn’t be bothered with your life. This is your life. It’s not my responsibility.”   Vanessa elaborated that her 2021 miscarriage intensified the situation. “I was just very stressed about well, one, are we gonna raise [a child] here in this house? It was just a lot of stress … so I kind of felt guilty, like maybe I did something wrong, and then I took it out on him a lot,” she said. “It was just a lot.”   Debbie shared her plans to move out of the home she, Colt and Vanessa lived in together, while Vanessa confirmed that she would move back in with Colt if his mom relocated. Amanda Bynes has officially filed to end her conservatorship after nearly nine years.

The former Nickelodeon star, 35, requested to terminate the conservatorship of both her person and estate on Wednesday, February 23, according to Page Six. Bynes also filed a capacity declaration at the Ventura County Superior Court as all conservatorship cases require updated health records about the conservatee's mental state.

The All That alum was first placed under a temporary conservatorship in August 2013 amid an accumulation of mental health and substance abuse issues. The decision was made one month after she was hospitalized and put on a psychiatric hold for setting a fire in a stranger’s driveway.

In August 2014, Amanda’s mother, Lynn Bynes, was named the conservator of her health care and personal matters. Four years later, paperwork was filed to continue the conservatorship until August 2020.

The Easy A star later took to social media to reflect on how she was adjusting, writing via Instagram in June 2018, "My dearest fans, thank you for all the support throughout the year and every year. I know I've been so quiet lately, I just felt that I needed my personal space and that it'd be better for me, but it never was. Just know that you're my happiness."

Amanda also got honest about struggling with her mental health throughout the years.

“I just had no purpose in life. I'd been working my whole life and [now] I was doing nothing. I had a lot of time on my hands, and I would 'wake and bake' and literally be stoned all day long,” she told Paper Magazine five months later. “[I was] hanging out with a seedier crowd and I isolated a lot … I got really into my drug usage, and it became a really dark, sad world for me.”

The California native has since enrolled and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. In February 2020, Amanda announced that she was engaged to Paul Michael after they met at an Alcoholic Anonymous meeting.

Ahead of the former actress’ recent court filing, Us confirmed that she was to remain under her conservatorship after a judge reviewed a status report on her health care in September 2021. The legal docs, which were obtained by Us, stated that the judge was satisfied with Amanda’s progress. The next status report on her health is meant to be submitted by her mother in January 2023.

“She’s doing great,” Amanda’s attorney, David Esquibias, exclusively told Us at the time. “Everyone would love to see Amanda not under a conservatorship. I think that is the goal between myself, her mother, her father, and her care providers. Amanda would love to be unconserved. She’s expressed it over and over. The timing is not right at the moment, so she’s working toward that direction. We all are working toward that direction, and one day we all hope to see it.”

Amanda’s attorney did not immediately respond to Us Weekly‘s request for comment.

Brittany Matthews Celebrates ‘Bach Bash’ Ahead of Patrick Mahomes Wedding

Posted: 25 Feb 2022 11:54 AM PST

Counting down to the big day! Brittany Matthews celebrated her upcoming wedding to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes with her friends — and some fitness.

The Brittany Lynne Fitness entrepreneur, 26, shared photos from the party via her Instagram Story on Thursday, February 24. Her event was decorated with balloons celebrating the bride and a picture wall bearing the phrase “Britt’s Bach Bash.” Matthews and her friends also swam in a pool featuring her name in lights and floaties in the shape of hearts and an engagement ring.

“My girlsssss,” the Texas native captioned a snapshot from her friends’ arrival. “[They] mean everything to me.”

She continued: “[I] cannot wait to decompress and enjoy this with my people.”

Matthews’ bash comes shortly after she was criticized for her behavior at the Chiefs games this year. In January, the trainer and Mahomes’ younger brother, Jackson Mahomes, were criticized for spraying champagne on unsuspecting fans who were seated below their private box after the team’s playoff victory. Fans then began speculating that the pair were banned from attending any future NFL games, citing them as disruptions.

"Y'all just be making stuff up these days 😂😂😂," the Super Bowl champ, 26, tweeted on February 18, denying the claims.

Matthews, for her part, slammed the online trolls for spreading the rumors about her, tweeting, “Yup [sharing hateful messages is] the cool thing to do. Quite hysterical how something like that can become cool.”

Despite the tension between Matthews and some football fans, the Texas Tech alum isn’t shy about showing his love for his fiancée on social media. “Happy birthday to my best friend, the best mom, and my future wife!” Patrick wrote via Instagram in August 2021. “Love you!”

The former soccer player and the NFL athlete got engaged in September 2020 shortly after his team’s Super Bowl LIV victory. One month later, the couple — who were high school sweethearts — announced they were expecting their first child. Daughter Sterling arrived in February 2021.

Matthews’ bachelorette party kicked off just four days after she and her husband-to-be celebrated their daughter’s 1st birthday.

“My Ster Girl is ONE! I can't believe it🥺💕 YOU my sweet girl deserve the world!!,” she wrote via Instagram on Sunday, February 20. “Your Daddy & I love you more & more everyday, we cannot wait to see where this life takes you & all the things you will conquer! #stersworld.”

She continued in an Instagram Story: “She brings so much light & love to my life, never knew how much I needed her till she came to this world! So beyond thankful for my Ster girl!”

Patrick, meanwhile, shared his own birthday wishes for their little girl. “My ❤ turns 1 today! Daddy loves you,” he wrote via Instagram.

“It’s actually so heartbreaking to me because I saw Shanna yesterday and it was so good to see her,” Mellencamp, 40, who was at the season 3 Celebrity Big Brother party with Moakler, 46, said on her “Two Ts In A Pod” podcast on Friday, February 25.

During the episode, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum detailed her interactions with the couple, telling cohost Tamra Judge, “She was back together with the guy and you want to believe that that guy is going to show you — maybe his DMs to me were wrong.”

Mellencamp, who previously called Rondeau, 29, out for sending her negative messages about his girlfriend, called the behavior a “red flag” that she hoped “was a one-off.”

“I hope she doesn’t take him back because even hanging out with him last night, you could see it in his eyes,” the reality star claimed, adding that the Rhode Island native is meant to appear on her podcast next week.

The Indiana native’s insight comes after Rondeau was arrested on Thursday, February 24. That same day, he shared an alarming video on Moakler’s Instagram account.

In the lengthy post, Rondeau accused the CBS personality of having romantic feelings for her ex-husband, Travis Barker, and her Celebrity Big Brother costar Lamar Odom, saying, "We have a laptop that we f–king share together. My name pops up in the f–king laptop; this f–king a–hole is talking to her exes. She ain't over f–king Travis, she ain't over anything. … So that's what she f–king is. She's a f–king whore, I don't give a f–k, you can quote me on it. It's f–king done. You are never gonna f–king see me with this f–king c–t again, I don't give a f–k."

Mellencamp pointed out on Friday that she felt uncomfortable with Rondeau’s behavior.

“I also didn’t like that he showed [her] address and the neighbors. To me, she was probably trying to get away from him,” the accountability coach detailed. “The only thing I’ve talked to her since — I mean I was calling her a thousand times this morning. I just said, ‘Please just tell me that you are OK.’ And she said, ‘I am OK.’ I don’t want to push her because I can’t even imagine what she is going through.”

Shortly after the Murder Party star slammed Moakler, Us Weekly confirmed that the police arrested Rondeau for felony domestic violence after a fight. He was released six hours after his booking.

Later that day, Moakler's manager, David Weintraub, told Us that his client was safe after the dispute, saying in a statement, "Thankfully, the police saved her from harm's way, and she is doing fine. At the moment, she asks that she is given her space to adjust to life after this trauma."

Rondeau, for his part, addressed his legal issues once he was released.

"Today was one of the most heartbreaking days of my life," the model wrote on his Instagram Story on Thursday. "To my family and friends, I just want you to know I love you so so much. You know I'd never lay a hand on another woman. My mother is my angel and my best friend. She raised me right."

He also claimed that the truth had become "flip[ped]” amid the situation. "I'm safe and I'm just moving forward. I'm just mentally drained and in complete disbelief. The love of my life has made me out to be the villain,” he concluded. “This will be my last post for awhile. God bless everyone who actually knows the truth of who I am and how I am as a man."

Mellencamp, however, voiced her concerns about Moakler amid the “traumatic” moments in her romantic relationship, adding, “I really hope that this is the end. I don’t have awareness of what happened, but I can’t imagine what she is feeling right now. It is freaking brutal. I am glad she is safe.”

Dancing Dogs! A Complete Guide to 'DWTS' Cast’s Pets

Posted: 25 Feb 2022 11:00 AM PST

Ballroom buddies! While many of the Dancing With the Stars professionals are used to sharing their dancing talents on television, some of their closest companions are waiting for them in the wings — their pets.

Two-time DWTS champ Cheryl Burke is a proud dog mom to her French Bulldog, Ysabella, who is often featured on her owner's Instagram page. While the Dance Moms alum frequently gushes over the canine, she struggled to adjust to her now-estranged husband Matthew Lawrence's collection of pets.

"I love animals, but he has reptiles," Burke said during a January 2022 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. "He has 45-50 reptiles that live beneath us. No snakes: That was the deal, no snakes. But when we dated a little over a decade ago, I knew I would be marrying a guy who loves reptiles."

The I Can Do That alum — who filed for divorce from Lawrence one month later after three years of marriage — told host Kelly Clarkson that she was cool with the Brotherly Love alum's pets so long as they were kept separate from Ysabella.

"I'm like, 'Stay far away!’" Burke joked at the time. "She's an indoorsy-type dog, likes to go on walks, but stays away from the cages."

The "Pretty Messed Up" podcast cohost is not the only DWTS alum that gushes over her pets. Val Chmerkovskiy and wife Jenna Johnson, whom he married in April 2019, share two toy poodles.

"My three forever Valentines 🖤," the Utah native wrote when she shared a sweet February 2022 Instagram snap of her husband and the dogs lounging in bed.

The couple previously took care of dog Anastasia before its death in August 2018.

"[Anastasia] brought so much happiness to me and really changed my perspective on a lot of things," Chmerkovskiy told Us Weekly at the time. "I didn't grow up with dogs, I never experienced that love that you can have for an animal, so this was new. And again, the permanence of death is also really frightening and scary and how it came out of nowhere, so it's definitely [been] a week-and-a-half for me. … Time heals all and keeps it moving and that's what's most humbling about this whole thing. It's very devastating and there's nothing I can do now."

DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba, meanwhile, is a faithful dog owner to her furry companion, Peanut.

“She keeps watch. Everyday. Always making sure everything is OK," the former Talk cohost wrote via Instagram in November 2021. "She never tires of love. And always has more to give. Her little sweet soul's so courageous and full of spirit… I ❤ her so much."

The Hawaii native is also an avid animal lover, who’s taken care of multiple rescue pups and kittens through the years.

"I grew up with a household that always had at least two cats and two dogs at all times," Inaba exclusively told Us in August 2017. "So, that's the minimum requirement for me. … [My pets] have so many toys and I play with them all the time."

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly’s Relationship Timeline, From Costars to Couple

Posted: 25 Feb 2022 10:55 AM PST

Longing for love? Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly (real name Colson Baker) started off their relationship by being coworkers, but it quickly evolved into something more.

The Tennessee native and "Rap Devil" singer met on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass in March 2020. At the time, Fox was married to Brian Austin Green.

Two months later, the costars were spotted together amid rumors of a split between the Transformers star and Beverly Hills, 90210 alum. Green confirmed that he and Fox had called it quits after 10 years of marriage on his "…With Brian Austin Green" podcast on May 18, 2020. The two share three sons, Noah, Bodhi and Journey.

While discussing the breakup, the California native addressed Fox's friendship with Kelly, saying that the two were "friends." Green explained that he had been separated from the actress since the end of 2019 and he didn't "want people to think that her or he are villains, or I was a victim in any way with any of this because I wasn't."

Despite Green's explanation of the situation, a source told Us Weekly exclusively on May 19, 2020, that the costars had begun "spending more and more time together because of their work schedules and filming together."

The insider added: "They started off as friends and their relationship grew from there. Megan thinks MGK is a really cool guy and their relationship turned more romantic."

Us reported on June 17 that the Jennifer's Body actress and "I Think I'm OKAY" rapper were "officially dating" after sparking romance rumors a month prior.

"Megan and MGK have gotten more serious," the source told Us exclusively. "[They're] referring to one another as boyfriend and girlfriend. They're enjoying spending more and more time together and have a strong connection."

The couple were spotted showing PDA in Los Angeles on multiple occasions and in July 2020, they were photographed leaving California to resume filming Midnight in the Switchgrass in Puerto Rico, according to Randall Emmett‘s Instagram post.

In an interview with Nylon, Kelly opened up about how Fox has positively impacted his life. “Love is not what’s being encouraged now.
