Red Carpet Debut! Michelle Young, Fiance Nayte Olukoya Kiss at Fenty Party

Posted: 12 Feb 2022 02:25 PM PST

From roses to happily ever after! As soon as Nayte Olukoya stepped out of the limo to vie for Michelle Young‘s heart, viewers could tell there was something special between him and the season 18 Bachelorette.

Nayte received the first impression rose during the October 2021 premiere of the ABC show, and he later said he didn’t understand the significance of the gesture at the time.

“Obviously, you can assume that it’s just who Michelle [Young] had a really good first impression of, right?” he said on an episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast that same month. “But, like, the world of Bachelor Nation? I didn’t have a clue.”

While sparks continued to fly between the pair, the Minnesota native found herself falling in love with runner-up Brandon Jones as well. After revealing in the December 2021 finale that she was “in love with them both,” the teacher was forced to face her feelings for her remaining two suitors.

“They have given me everything that I’ve asked for and tomorrow is going to be the hardest decision I’ve ever made,” she explained during a confessional in the emotional episode.

After Brandon and Nayte each chose Neil Lane engagement rings, the former Bachelor contestant turned down the Texas native’s proposal, noting, "It's not that I don't love you, because I do. It's just that my heart is pushing me in a different direction and I have to go with what I feel and it hurts so much because you are this unbelievable person.”

Michelle later reflected on her instant connection with her now-fiancé after he got down on one knee.

"This has not necessarily been a smooth ride, but I’m also not willing to face that fear of walking away from this without you," she shared. "Because I have never felt a love like this before. And I love you with my entire heart and don’t ever want to think about waking up next to anyone besides you and doing life with anyone besides you. And at the end, I wanted to be standing in front of my soulmate and he is definitely standing right in front of me."

During the live After the Final Rose special, Michelle opened up about how much closer the couple became after they finished filming the reality series.

"I think what’s so hard is that you go through this experience and you have these magical moments, and you leave, like, in love, but then you spend so much more time together. You get to text, FaceTime, talk to each other’s families come and get significantly closer," she said in December 2021. "I think the biggest thing is we communicate through everything. And it doesn’t always have to be this perfect communication but we both know we’re going to stick in it. We are going to not let go. We are going to hold on, and that is the biggest part. Because it is not easy. There’s going to be uncomfortable emotions, and we definitely had them."

Nayte, for his part, candidly discussed his love for Michelle as fans got to see them take the next step in their relationship.

“Michelle, ever since September 9th, 2021, when I got on one knee to ask you to spend the rest of our lives together, it has been an absolute dream come true,” he wrote in a lengthy Instagram post at the time. “There will inevitably be ups and downs, just like any other strong relationship. But I don't care if it's tomorrow, 5 years from now, or 50 years from now. I plan on always giving you my full effort and working through life with you.”

Scroll down to relive Michelle and Nayte’s sweet romance:

First Meeting
The Canada native stood out from the start of Michelle's Bachelorette journey, receiving the first impression rose and the first kiss of the 18th season. During an interview on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast in October 2021, Nayte admitted that he didn't expect to reach both milestones, noting, "I'm not a smooth individual." Although the contestant wasn't "expecting" a kiss so soon, he said it was an "ever happy" moment for him. ABC/Craig Sjodin
Ready for a Commitment
Amid concerns that Nayte was not ready to get married, the account executive set the record straight on the “Click Bait” podcast in December 2021, saying, “When Michelle's asking me, like, ‘There’s one thing between being in love with somebody or falling in love with somebody, and then an engagement,' what I was trying to say in that moment was, ‘I don't have all the answers. I don't know what life is going to look if you and I [were] to leave this bubble.’”  He added: "All I knew is that I trust myself, like, I trust that I'm falling in love with you, I'm trusting that I seriously want to be with you. And I don't have all the answers. … I’m not the perfect answer guy who's going to tell you everything you want to hear." Michelle, for her part, explained that there was more to Nayte than met viewers' eyes.   “When Nayte just stepped out of the limo, he was just very confident — but he didn't have that overconfidence. He was still nervous,” she excluslveiy told Us Weekly while her season aired. “I was nervous as well. Through the season, [I've] always enjoyed peeling back different layers, and, at the moment in the season, I’m really, truly figuring out just how many layers he has.”   ABC/Craig Sjodin
The Proposal
After sending Brandon packing, Michelle said yes to Nayte's proposal, calling him her “person.” Nayte, for his part, gushed: “Michelle, the very first night I met you, I knew right then and there that we had a connection that I wanted to hold on to. The second night that we were together, we talked about running away together. I’m standing in front of you right now and the feelings are the same. I want to run away with you. I want to run away to forever with a woman that I've come to love this amazingly, crazy, wow kind of love. And through this journey, you've shared a lot of vulnerable sides of your past and I know that you've felt unseen at times and I want to let you know that I am completely prepared, willing and ready to make sure that you are always chosen first, seen now, today, tomorrow and for the rest of our lives. I love you, Michelle.”   ABC/Craig Sjodin
Parental Stamp of Approval
During the After the Final Rose special, Michelle’s mom, Lavonne Young, responded to the assumption that she favored Brandon over her future son-in-law.   “We are in love with Nayte. Absolutely in love with Nayte,” she told host Kaitlyn Bristowe in December 2021. “You know, Michelle, I don't know if she's told you, but she shared one of the texts that you sent her, and I won't say — but it was beautiful. It was so heartwarming. It was so — it made me cry.” Nayte’s mother, also revealed that she and Lavonne were in contact "after each episode" aired. ABC/Craig Sjodin
Shutting Down Those Red Flag Concerns
Nayte took to social media to call out "the edit" that his relationship received throughout season 18 after viewers watched him pop the question on screen.  "Thank you for seeing past what people have always seemed to get stuck on when it comes to me. My whole life people have taken one look at me and thought they had me all figured out," he captioned an Instagram post in December 2021. "Maybe it’s the tattoos and piercings. Maybe it’s the way I carry myself. Maybe it’s as silly as my height or as ignorant as the color of my skin. Maybe it’s how awful I am at expressing myself or how gosh darn awkward I almost always am." The Bachelorette contestant credited his fiancée for embracing his true identity, despite fans' opinions that he was a "walking red flag." He continued, "But you, Michelle, you saw me for me from the very first night, and I will always always always love and appreciate you for that." He concluded: "All in all, Michelle, you’re all I see, you’re all I’ve ever wanted, and you’re all I’ll ever want. Thank you for being you and thank you for being the one to unlock my hearts potential. I can’t get enough of living this dream come true with you."   ABC/Craig Sjodin
Looking Toward the Future
Following the conclusion of her journey, Michelle addressed why her love story didn't need to be "perceived as perfect" to others.  "As long as it’s perfect for you and me," she wrote in a lengthy tribute to her fiancé via Instagram in December 2021. "You’ve quickly become the pep in my step, The reason I smile through hard days. I love the way you love, You make me feel beautiful in so many ways."  The reality star noted that although they have "no idea what’s in life’s plan," she was "incredibly at peace" having Nayte by her side. Strong Start of 2022
Michelle and Nayte kicked off the new year by sharing several silly snaps and revealing that they sometimes share a toothbrush. “For those asking … Definitely my toothbrush. Had to snap the milestone in our relationship,” he wrote via Instagram Stories alongside a snap of Michelle brushing her teeth. She subsequently took to Twitter and wrote: “If you see @kingbabatunde94 and I fighting in public it’s because he told the entire world that we occasionally share a toothbrush.” Courtesy of Nayte Olukoya/Instagram

Champs! Every Olympic Medal Team USA Has Won During 2022 Olympics

Posted: 12 Feb 2022 02:20 PM PST

Go team go! Team USA has a long history of winning at the Winter Olympics and the 2022 Beijing Games are no different.

The athletes donning stars and stripes ended the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics with 23 total medals, including nine gold. The country's strong showing put Team USA in the No. 4 spot overall for the most medals at the games.

With seven wins in the snowboarding events — four golds, two silver and one bronze — the U.S. athletes had a lot of hype around them coming into the 2022 competition.

All four of the snowboarding gold medalists — Shaun White, Chloe Kim, Red Gerard and Jamie Anderson — made their way back to the slopes of the China-based Games in February and fans took notice.

"To be going at my fifth time here is pretty spectacular," White, 35, told the Today show hosts after the February 4 opening ceremonies. "It's tough to say goodbye. I've had an amazing run. I'm so thankful for everything I've achieved and I'm ready to pass the torch to the next generation."

The snowboarding legend couldn't wait to hit the slopes in his final Winter Games, saying, "I'm so thankful to be here, feeling healthy. Body's feeling great. I'm ready to put on a performance."

Figure skater Nathan Chen was also prized to take home the gold in men's singles during his second Olympic appearance after landing just off the podium at the 2018 Games.

"It's always been a dream of mine to be able to win a national title, to win a world title, to win an Olympic title," Chen, 22, said in January 2021 via USA Today. "Easier said than done. I thought that I had a chance in 2018 and that didn't happen and I'm able to live with that."

The Yale University student revealed he would "love to be able to win the next Olympics," but wasn't putting too much pressure on taking home a medal.

"If that doesn't happen, it's not like my legacy or who I am is ultimately diminished. I'm still happy with everything that I've done," he added. "I'm proud of everything that I've already accomplished in skating."

Scroll down to see whether White, Chen or their many Team USA teammates took home a medal at the Beijing Olympics:

An early Valentine's Day celebration! Ahead of the loved-up holiday, Jennifer Lopez shared the sweet, personal gift that boyfriend Ben Affleck made: a special remixed music video of her new single "On My Way."

"I am going to share something very special and personal with you that normally that I would only share with my inner circle," Lopez, 52, wrote via her OnTheJLo newsletter on Friday, February 11, alongside a link to the video. "It's an early Valentine's Day present from Ben."

The Hustlers star, who was previously engaged to Affleck from 2002 to 2004, continued in her note: "Watching it made me think about the journey of true love, it's unexpected twists and turns, and that when it's real, it actually can last forever. This seriously melted my heart."

The video, directed by the 49-year-old Tender Bar star, featured throwback footage of the twosome (plus a brief cameo from his pal Matt Damon!) through the years before the New York native starts crooning her new song, which is included in her new movie, Marry Me.

"My valentine," Affleck captioned the final slide of his film.

In Marry Me, Lopez plays pop star Kat Valdez whose fiancé Bastian (Maluma) is caught cheating ahead of their planned nuptials. Trying to avoid potential embarrassment in front of concertgoers, she plucks single dad Charlie Gilbert (Owen Wilson) from the crowd and proclaims that she will marry him instead. The movie, which was released on Friday, follows the unlikely duo's public relationship.

Affleck's remixed version includes clips of Lopez from the original music video, directed by Santiago Salviche, which was released in December 2021.

The Massachusetts native and the "Jenny From the Block" songstress — who were all smiles at the Marry Me red carpet premiere earlier this week — reconnected in May 2021 after her split from ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez. Their romance has continued to heat up as they've vacationed together and bonded with one another's children. (Affleck shares Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 9, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, while Lopez shares twins Max and Emme, both 13, with ex-husband Marc Anthony.)

"You have to do what feels good to you all the time. But at the same time, you learn from the past, you do things better the second time," she told The New York Times in an interview published earlier this month. "There's a part of it that, yes, we're together. But there's a part of it that's not, you know, being so open the way we were when we were so young and in love many years ago."

She added: "We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things. We’re so protective because it is such a beautiful time for all of us," she said. “I just feel very happy and lucky to be in a relationship that’s happy and loving, and I want to do everything I can to protect that and keep it safe. It deserves that, it really does. … We hold it sacred."

Marry Me is currently in theaters and is available to stream on Peacock.

J.Lo: Ben Affleck's Valentine's Day Gift 'Seriously Melted My Heart'

Posted: 12 Feb 2022 01:55 PM PST

The word "Bennifer" might include flashbacks to frosted lip gloss and butterfly clips, but everything comes back in style eventually. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are spending time together, nearly 20 years after their romance took the world by storm.

Affleck has reportedly been getting picked up in a white SUV that takes him to Lopez's Los Angeles home. It's easy to understand why they'd keep their hangouts on the down-low when remembering their high-profile romance.

The pair first connected in 2002 on the set of the ill-fated Gigli. The two played gangsters who fall in love while attempting to kidnap a neurodivergent man. The movie flopped at the box office and among critics, who claimed Affleck and Lopez didn't have much chemistry.

It was a different story off-screen. Lopez filed for divorce from second husband Cris Judd in June 2002, and she went public with the Good Will Hunting star after.

The "Waiting for Tonight" singer had another rock on her finger by November. Affleck proposed with a 6-carat pink diamond that had smaller white diamonds on the sides.

The ring caught plenty of media attention as did J. Lo's "Jenny From the Block" music video. Paparazzi caught Bennifer filming in various cities throughout the fall before the clip was finally released in November. It included plenty of scenes of the couple showing their affection for each other.

The duo even welcomed Dateline's Pat O'Brien into their Vancouver rental home to discuss their relationship, but they wouldn't say exactly when they fell in love. "You can't pinpoint it," Lopez said. "We became friends first. That is the honest to God truth."

Their wedding was set for September 2003, and Lopez said she'd change her name to Jennifer Affleck after the wedding. However, they never made it to the altar, canceling just days before the ceremony due to "excessive media attention."

They announced their official breakup in January 2004. Lopez would marry Marc Anthony in June 2004 while Affleck moved on with Jennifer Garner that year as well.

Though it didn't work out, Affleck and Lopez have only been kind to each other in the press. "We just happened to be together at the birth of the tabloids, and it was like ‘Oh, my God.’ It was just a lot of pressure," she told PeopleTV's The Jess Cagle Interview in 2016.

She continued, "I think different time, different thing, who knows what could’ve happened, but there was a genuine love there."

Affleck, meanwhile, praised her in InStyle in April 2021 as "the hardest-working person I’ve come across in this business. She has great talent, but she has also worked very hard for her success, and I’m so happy for her that she seems, at long last, to be getting the credit she deserves."

Duet Partners for Life! Blake and Gwen Sing Together at LA Concert

Posted: 12 Feb 2022 01:30 PM PST

Opposites attract! Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton might seem as different as can be — but they make a perfect match.

The musical duo met while working on The Voice in 2015 and quickly fell for each other in the wake of their divorces from Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert. After five years together, Shelton finally popped the question in October 2020.

“Hey @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020… And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!” the country crooner gushed via Instagram alongside a sweet PDA pic from his proposal.

Stefani, for her part, teased that her answer was an obvious one. “Yes please! 💍🙏🏻,” she captioned her own Instagram post at the time.

Two years earlier, the Oklahoma native revealed that his budding relationship with Stefani helped him get back from “rock bottom” after the end of his four-year marriage.

“It’s a miracle that I met somebody that was going through the same exact thing that I was at the same exact moment in time,” Shelton told Willie Geist during a June 2018 episode of Sunday Today. “I think if Gwen and I were being honest right now talking about this, I think in the back of our minds, we both kind of thought this is a rebound deal. … But now here we are three years later, and every day that goes by just feels like a stronger bond between the two of us, and it constantly feels like it’s going to the next level.”

Stefani split from Rossdale in August 2015, and the exes share three sons: Kingston, Zuma and Apollo. While the “Hollaback Girl” singer and Shelton hunkered down together amid the coronavirus pandemic, an insider told Us Weekly exclusively that Stefani’s kids have a soft spot for Shelton.

“Those boys look up to Blake in a big way,” the source said in August 2020. “He’s earned their respect as a father figure. He’s gone from being their friend to being a serious parental influence.”

Scroll down to take a look back at all of Stefani and Shelton’s sweetest moments together.

The “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” singer gushed about her fiancé during a December 2020 episode of Zane Lowe’s “At Home With Apple Music,” revealing “it’s hard not to like almost everything about Blake Shelton.” Stefani noted that the country crooner is her “best friend,” but that’s just part of her attraction to him. “We tell each other everything. I don't want to do anything without him. He's my homie,” she explained. “And he's just a very generous, generous guy. He's full of love and generosity. And like you said, he's a smart, smart guy as well. So you feel safe, you could lean on him and trust him.” The California native also opened up about Shelton being a true “artist” and revealed that he has “a lot of different sides to him. She noted: “His true love is just of nature and of just being at that ranch. And he loves animals and he knows every single name of every salamander and every tree and every bush and snake. He's just always been the same. He's the same guy no matter where he goes, you know what I'm saying? And there's some things just so cool about that.  And there's just something great about someone that's so genuine and then super talented, because then you watch him sing and you're just like, ‘My God, your voice.’ He's really good.” Trae Patton/NBC

The Oklahoma native dished on the details of his proposal to Stefani two months after popping the question — and revealed that things could have taken a wrong turn. "To be honest with you — and this is scary — I had the ring in the compartment on my door of my truck for about a week," Shelton said during a December 2020 interview on The Bobby Bones Show. "I don't know about you, but stuff falls out of that damn thing on my truck all the time. ... I kept thinking, 'Man, somebody's gonna hit the jackpot whenever I drop this thing out of my truck.' I wanted to keep it there all the time because I didn't know when I would have the exact, right moment. But thank God, I didn't lose the ring." YouTube; Shutterstock (inset)

Stefani appeared on DJ Khaled's "The First One" podcast in March 2021, where she opened up about her relationship with Shelton and how he factors into her career, revealing that she bounces ideas off him, just like she used to do with her No Doubt bandmates. "When you're on your own [but used to collaborating] and writing with a bunch of different people, you kind of feel like you need someone to do that with," she said during the podcast episode. During a special for the 10th anniversary of The Voice, the country star said one of the best bonuses he got out of his participation in the TV show was his future wife. "People ask me all the time, 'What's the greatest thing that has happened for you since you've been on The Voice?'" he shared. "That's a no-brainer, right? I met my fiancée here. It's hard to resist Gwen Stefani. You know, here's this iconic rock star coming to be a coach on The Voice in a black minivan. That was cool to me." He added that their relationship made filming the reality series more fun because she inspires his competitive instincts. "I love it when she's here," he said, noting that he "would have laughed you out of the room" if you told him "back in 1996" that the No Doubt frontwoman would become his girlfriend. "She brings a very complicated element of competition, for me in particular. But I love that. I love the challenge. Just knowing that she's there, and she has my back, is pretty cool."  Rob Latour/Shutterstock

Shelton still gets excited when it comes to working with Stefani. "I still have those moments when we get into work mode, I know that it should be super, like, emotional and personal and this, because we haven't done that many, we've done four songs together, and I'm still more in blown away fan shocked mode when I actually work with her," Shelton said during an interview on Apple Music 1 in June 2021. He even loves bringing Stefani out as a surprise guest at his concerts. "And there's been times where she comes out on stage, we'll have a plan if she's at one of my concerts and we always try to keep it on the down-low, and then we'll start 'Nobody But You' or 'Go Ahead And Break My Heart,' and then I'll be singing it," Shelton explained. "And here I am dying from the time I stand on stage, walk out on stage, until that moment hits, because I know on that set list people are going to [flip] in their seats when Gwen Stefani walks out here. It's like I'm a kid on Christmas morning." Rob Latour/Shutterstock

Daly, who officiated the couple's wedding ceremony on July 3, shared some details about the big day during an episode of the Today show. “They're an unlikely pair,” he explained. “They're like if you pair delicious fried chicken with a glass of champagne. On paper and on the menu it doesn't seem to work, but it works. It's comfort food with class. And everybody roots for that.” The TRL alum said he encouraged the duo to write their own vows and Shelton chose to present his in the form of a song. "Blake starts by saying, 'Gwen's always giving me a hard time about not writing enough songs so I wrote a song,'" Daly recalled. "He wrote her a song, and he sings her song while he's crying that he wrote specifically for her — 'Reach the Star,' I think it was called. And not a dry eye in the house. And that was really a highlight." A source told Us that Stefani's father walked her down the aisle, adding that her sons were also part of the ceremony. So Cute! Andy Cohen, Son Ben Meet Anderson Cooper's 2nd Child Sebastian

Posted: 12 Feb 2022 01:15 PM PST

Two peas in a pod! Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper share everything from identical initials to similar professions, which makes it easy to see why the twosome are best friend goals.

The Watch What Happens Live host and Cooper first met in the early ’90s when they were almost set up on a blind date. However, the pair’s dynamic never became romantic because Cohen broke the CNN news anchor’s “cardinal rule” of dating — mentioning his socialite mother, Gloria Vanderbilt.

"Andy and I were first set up on a blind date, which never happened because we had a phone call and after two minutes I said, 'I'm not dating this guy,’" Cooper recalled on Watch What Happens Live in December 2016. "He broke my cardinal rule … he mentioned my mom within the first four sentences of meeting me."

Although the duo never went on a date, they forged a friendship that developed into an equally strong working relationship. Cohen and Cooper have hit the road together every year since 2016 for their conversational stage tour, "AC2: An Intimate Evening with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.” The Radio Andy host has also joined Cooper to cohost CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live since 2017.

Cohen and the Nothing Left Said author not only support each other professionally but have leaned on each other through the ups and downs of their personal lives. The Bravo exec shared a touching tribute in honor of Cooper’s mother, Gloria, when she died in June 2019.

"Gloria Vanderbilt was an amazing woman who lived a life filled with incredible peaks and impossible obstacles," Cohen wrote at the time via Instagram. "Through it all she remained eternally optimistic with a wicked sense of humor. In fact, Anderson's iconic and infectious giggle comes from his mom. Sending Anderson all my love, and may she Rest In Peace."

Cooper was also by Cohen’s side — while still respecting social distancing guidelines — as the Bravo host recovered from coronavirus in April 2020. Cohen shared a photo of his pal riding by his New York City apartment via Instagram.

“This is about as close as I'll be getting to @andersoncooper for a while…. (on 10x zoom lens btw!)” Cohen captioned the blurry photo.

The BFFs have also both achieved a major milestone —becoming parents. Cohen welcomed his son, Benjamin, via surrogate in February 2019. Cooper, for his part, announced the birth of his son, Wyatt, via surrogate in April 2020.

Cohen revealed via Instagram in May 2020 that he hopes their sons will “be best friends” when they get older — just like their dads.

How BiP’s Hannah Godwin, Fiance Dylan Barbour Plan to Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Posted: 12 Feb 2022 01:10 PM PST

Another Bachelor Nation success story! Hannah Godwin and Dylan Barbour went searching for love on Bachelor in Paradise, but the real paradise began when they found each other.

Godwin joined season 6 of the ABC reality show in the summer of 2019 after striking out on Colton Underwood‘s season of The Bachelor. Barbour, for his part, previously competed for the affections of Hannah Brown on season 15 of The Bachelorette.

The couple’s relationship had a rocky start with Godwin first showing interest in Blake Horstmann, who even flew to her hometown to see her a week before Paradise began filming. Godwin later sparked a connection with Barbour but ended up kissing Horstmann multiple times in front of him.

Eventually, Godwin chose Barbour and the twosome got engaged at the end of the season. At first, the couple had a long-distance relationship between Godwin’s house in Los Angeles and Barbour’s home in San Diego. However, they found themselves unexpectedly living together amid the coronavirus quarantine.

"Luckily, we're both easygoing so being trapped together in sweats all day with my BFF isn't a bad day," the Bachelor alum told Us Weekly in March 2020. Barbour added, "It makes us want to live together and puppy fever is through the roof."

The pair’s time in self-isolation also helped them discover new things about each other. "I've learned that Dylan has zero fear when it comes to expiration dates on food," Godwin said at the time. "Pretty sure we used two-year-old mustard the other day. Honestly, not too bad!"

Barbour, meanwhile, stumbled upon the social media influencer’s favorite food. "I didn't know Han liked banana pancakes till I made them the other morning," he said. "Now, they're on my regular breakfast menu."

Four months later, Godwin shared that she wasn’t sure if they would have issues living together, but the former beauty pageant contestant was pleasantly surprised.

"Although we have a good balance in our relationship, you never know what type of roommate someone will be until you actually live with them for a long period of time," she said in July 2020. "Luckily, Dylan has been an awesome roommate and we really balance chores out well. We're also good at giving each other personal space when we need it, too!"

Godwin told Us that they aren't "rushing" their wedding plans because of the coronavirus pandemic. "So, the wedding planning journey I put to a little bit of a pause just with COVID and everything," the Alabama native said at the time. "And we're trying to wait to see what the state of the world is going to be in the next year or two. So, for now, I'm Pinterest boarding it and saving photos and we're talking about it and getting excited about it. But, I think that'll just make it even more special when we're able to actually have our big fun day." Shutterstock

What's taking you forever?' ... We're chillin’. I think why we've been kind of cool with just chillin’ is because, like, we have a mortgage together. It's funny how people get so angry. One day we'll give it to them and they'll be really excited, hopefully." Barbour chimed in, revealing the pair were eyeing a spring 2023 wedding date. "It takes 12 months to plan a wedding, but we're not gonna get married in the winter," he said. "We did look at venues. We have a planner." Marion Curtis/StarPix for Kensie/Shutterstock
February 2022
“You’re the most loving, caring and selfless woman I’ve ever met,” Barbour gushed via Instagram on Godwin’s 27th birthday. “You focus your energy on anyone and everyone you come across, and you know how to light up a room with your wit and humor. From launching your website and app (and it literally being on the top trending charts) to walking in NYFW, it’s been a privilege to watch you accomplish your goals, and I know you’re just getting started. I love you and happy birthday. Like this photo if we should have 5 kids, comment for 6.” Courtesy of Dylan Barbour/Instagram

A human’s best friend! Many celebs have offered fans a look at their most adorable moments with their pets.

Justin Theroux, who adopted his dog, Kuma, proudly celebrated the third anniversary of her gotcha day.

“I know you can't read Kuma, but thank you for being so open, making me laugh, sleeping in later than me, going everywhere by my side, reminding me to stay in the present, to let things roll off me, to have gratitude and joy for everything, even just waking up,” the Wanderlust actor wrote via Instagram in June 2021. “Reminding me to be playful. For showing patience.”

The actor has enjoyed showing off his new best friend and Kuma was even included in his April/May 2021 cover of Esquire magazine. Theroux continued his post by thanking his dog for “showing kindness first.”

“For being an exceptional (but not uncommon) Pitbull ambassador. For helping save other Pittbulls like yourself by letting me tell people your story… For being loyal. Kimberly continued: “It’s a process that involves patience and love, and we’re here for it! To all the dog lovers out there please watch Dog: Impossible on Disney Jr. Its a game changer and @thezendogla helps you meet your dog where they’re at so that you can learn and grow together.”

James, for his part, thanked the rescue center that allowed him and his family to learn more about adopting animals.

“Thank you to incredible humans @haileysani and @tabv who rescued him from a kill shelter in LA on what would have been his last day on Earth, fostering him, and then driving him halfway across the country… and thank you @thezendogla for helping us deepen our understanding of what it means to live in harmony with these sentient four-legged beings who are so wise… but speak a little different language than we do,” he wrote via Instagram in March 2021.

The former model shared a slideshow of photos of the black lab through the years, including a snap where two of her daughters — she shared Natalia, 19, Gianna, Bianka, 5, and Capri, 2 with Kobe — cuddled the pup.

Natalia also shared an emotional tribute to the longtime family pet, writing via Instagram on Friday: "I truly have no words except for the fact that Crucio was the best dog I could have ever asked for. To the most handsome, loving, selfless and brave dog- you will forever be missed. 🤍🐾"

Crucio's death comes nearly two years after the basketball legend and daughter Gianna died in a helicopter crash in January 2020. A statue of the father-daughter pair was erected at the Calabasas, California, site by sculptor Dan Medina in their honor, which was dedicated last month.

Supportive Ex! Chrishell and Jason Reunite at Book Signing Post-Split

Posted: 12 Feb 2022 12:15 PM PST

From coworkers to costars to friends to dating to exes! Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim had serious history before taking their relationship to the next level in 2021.

The soap star met Jason and his twin brother, Brett Oppenheim, when she started working for The Oppenheim Group in 2018. During her first year at the agency, the group, which also includes Christine Quinn, Heather Rae Young, Maya Vander and Mary Fitzgerald, started filming the Netflix reality show Selling Sunset.

When the pair met, Stause had recently married Justin Hartley. The actress and the This Is Us star split in November 2019 while she was filming season 3, with Stause alleging she found out about the divorce petition via text message.

"Because of the crazy way in which this went down, people want answers, and I f—king want answers," she told Fitzgerald on the 2020 season of the show. "I know people are saying we were only married two years, but it's like, we were together for six years. … In a fight, that's his go-to, you know? Like, 'I'm out, I'm out.' I hate that kind of impulsive stuff, but I always just thought, you know, that's just an issue that we work through it."

Following the divorce, Stause competed on Dancing With the Stars and was dragged into partner Gleb Savchenko's messy split from his now-ex Elena Samodanova in November 2020. Both Stause and Savchenko denied that their relationship was anything but professional at the time. The real estate agent did, however, briefly date fellow professional dancer Keo Motsepe. They split in February 2021 after a few months of dating.

"Keo was caught in a web of lies," a source told Us at the time. "He's not denying the fact that he lied to her and is truly ashamed about something he did. … He genuinely loved her but made a big mistake. I don't see them getting back together."

Although he didn't directly address the split, Motsepe told Entertainment Tonight in May 2021, “Everything that happens in life, people deal with things differently, and I deal with things differently. So I think for me personally, with everything in my life, I [turn to] music or dance, it just depends on the feeling at the moment."

Fast-forward to the summer of 2021 — while the cast was seemingly taking a break from filming seasons 4 and 5 — Stause and Jason announced they are dating.

"Chrishell and I became close friends and it has developed into an amazing relationship," he told Us Weekly in July 2021 statement when he confirmed they were dating. "I care about her deeply and we're very happy together."

In November 2021, Jason explained that their friendship provided the perfect base for an open and honest relationship.

"There was definitely a transition," Jason told Us exclusively at the time. "We had been so open about what we were looking for with each other because we had become close friends. She knew my dating life, and we would almost joke about our each other's dating lives and what we were looking for and things like that."

He gushed, "I love her.”

Less than a month later, a source confirmed to Us Weekly that the Selling Sunset stars split before Christmas.

Scroll through for a timeline of Stause and Jason's relationship and see the way they were:

Selling Sunset started streaming on Netflix in March 2019. During season 1, Stause was still with Hartley, who never appeared on screen, and fans learned about Jason’s past with Fitzgerald. “I don’t give her special treatment,” he told Good Housekeeping about his working relationship with Fitzgerald after their split. “I understand that there can be frustrations from other agents because they see that Mary is being involved in and brought on to many of my listings. While I don’t share the financials with everyone because that’s confidential, I think that everyone would admit based on just the obvious work that she’s done, that she’s bringing more money into this brokerage and selling more properties than anyone else.” Netflix
May 2021
After dating Fitzgerald prior to Selling Sunset, Jason told Page Six in May 2021 that dating another costar “probably wouldn’t be an epic idea.” He added, “It’s not that I’ve taken a step back from dating — it’s not on my priority list to be honest. And no, that wouldn’t be a priority for me. I think that would be complicated.” ITV/Shutterstock
July 2021
Stause and Jason went public with their romance in July 2021 during a group trip to Italy with Fitzgerald and her husband, Romain Bonnet, and Jason’s brother, Brett, and his girlfriend, Tina Louise. “Nothing makes me more excited than to see two of my closest friends together and making each other so happy!” Fitzgerald commented via Instagram. Bonnet added, “So happy for you guys! Finally people will stop with Jason and Mary hopefully.”   Courtesy of Chrishell Stause/Instagram

After making her relationship with Oppenheim public, Stause revealed that he was the person who sent her a lavish display of flowers and balloons for her 41st birthday earlier in the month. Ahead of Selling Sunset's return to Netflix, Chrishell confirmed to Cosmopolitan UK that her romance with Jason wouldn't be highlighted on season 4 because they went public months after filming started. That same month, Fitzgerald opened up about when she first learned about her costars' relationship. "We were out together and I noticed the way he was looking at her was different, so when she went to the bathroom I confronted him," Fitzgerald told Cosmopolitan UK in November 2021. "When she came back Jason said, ‘Sorry Chrishell, Mary knows.'" Gregory Pace/Shutterstock

During an exclusive interview with Us, Jason opened up about how the couple went from friends and colleagues to more. “There was definitely a transition. We had been so open about what we were looking for with each other because we had become close friends," he shared with Us. "She knew my dating life, and we would almost joke about each other’s dating lives and what we were looking for and things like that." He also shared that Chrishell wanted to keep the relationship private for as long as possible. "I think that we were both more comfortable with that approach, and I liked that. I followed her lead on things, and I respected her decision-making on that,” he explained. “I think that that’s the right approach for anyone." JENNIFER GRAYLOCK/INSTARimages.com

The cast of Selling Sunset has been completely supportive of the couple. Maya Vander admitted that "it doesn’t hurt to [date the boss]," but reiterated that the actress wasn't getting special treatment. "At the end of the day, she does have good clients now that she built on her own. So whatever Jason decides to help here and then it’s his call, it’s his brokerage," she told Us. Mary Fitzgerald later told Us at the People's Choice Awrads: "I was surprised but they started off as friends and they're very good for each other. I'm waiting to see what happens but they are two of my very, very best friends and I want nothing more than for both of them to be happy and right now, they make each other happy."   MEGA

"This has been the darkest part of my life,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 50, said on the Friday, February 11 episode of E!'s Daily Pop. "Just the most desperate, most afraid I’ve ever been in my life. Most unsure, most volatile."

She continued: "I've been angry, I’ve been sad, I’ve been happy, I’ve been everything. And it’s really challenged me to my core."

The Pretty Mess author's legal drama first made headlines after she filed for divorce from Tom Girardi in November 2020 after 21 years of marriage. Less than one month later, the estranged spouses were named in a fraud lawsuit, accusing them of embezzling $2 million in settlement funds from the families of the Lion Air Flight 610 crash victims. In the suit, the 82-year-old former attorney was also accused of mishandling the money of several of his clients.

The trustee had named the "Roller Coaster" performer in the case, claiming she had prior knowledge that the Colorado native's law firm had covered her expenses for nearly 12 years. (The reality TV star, for her part, has continually denied the allegations.)

"You know, when they can’t get to that man, then they turn to his partner. And that’s what I think has happened," the Bravo star told the outlet on Friday. "I think that I have taken a lot of the attention that should be for other people. … I’ve been the whipping girl for a lot of people, and I’ve taken the beating in the public when others should be. I think it would be a bad legal story and I think it would have gone away, [but] I do think that because I am on a reality TV show, it is magnified. I think that because of what I’ve done professionally, it is magnified."

Us Weekly previously confirmed in January that the complaints against Erika were dismissed in Illinois as the court docs found that the allegations against her were "dismissed without prejudice and without cause."

The Dancing With the Stars alum has since returned to filming for RHOBH season 12 in better spirits.

"I think she is in a better place," costar Dorit Kemsley exclusively told Us last month. "She went through a lot, and I think she's coming out the other side and she's feeling better and feeling stronger. I think it's still, you know, a battle and it's not over, but I think that she is doing better and better."

MGK and Megan Fox Are 'Great Together,' According to Steve-O

No pranks here. Steve-O revealed his true thoughts about his friend Machine Gun Kelly's relationship with Megan Fox — and it’s safe to say he ships the pair.

"Of course, they’re great together," the Jackass Forever star, 47, exclusively tells Us Weekly on Friday, February 11, about the newly engaged couple. "I'm a big fan of being in a committed relationship."

MGK, 31, is a very game victim of one of the many pranks in the latest Jackass film. (At one point, he gets slapped by a giant hand with such force that he flies backward into the pool behind him.) While shooting the movie, the "My Ex's Best Friend" singer and Transformers star, 35, were "together on set," Steve-O tells Us.

While the stuntman and the rocker have been friends for "a decade," the former MTV star wasn't sure if the twosome are “close enough [for MGK] to have me at [his] wedding [to Fox]," he tells Us. (Steve-O will eventually be walking down the aisle himself when he marries his fiancée, Lux Wright.)

When speaking of his relationship with Kelly, the prankster revealed that the two have shared some pretty unique moments together — including when the Dirt actor name-dropped him on his 2012 hit "Wild Boy" and the unforgettable moment he tattooed the Jackass lead's butt.

"I've known him for years," the TV personality tells Us about his friendship with the "Bloody Valentine" artist, praising the track that seemed to help introduce them. "The chorus of ['Wild Boy'], it said, 'Yeah, bitch, yeah, bitch, call me Steve-O,'" the actor noted, explaining that he uses the song as his walk-out music for his Bucket List comedy tour. "I love it."

As for how the rapper managed to infamously ink Steve-O, the actor set the scene for Us. "I asked him to give me a smiley face tattoo on my butt cheek with a high-powered BB gun," he tells Us, explaining that he told MGK to "just put the BBs [in] and draw the smiley face," and after, the stuntman would "smear [ink] all over it" to turn it into a tattoo. In 2015, Steve-O shared an NSFW video of the whole (dangerous) process via Facebook. (He also showed Us the finished product, as well.)

Underneath all of their outrageous stunts, however, is a relationship filled with respect. After first meeting Kelly in 2012, Steve-O tells Us he was "just really, really impressed by how thoughtful he was. … And I just thought, 'Man, there’s a lot more to this kid than what there appears to be."

Jackass Forever was released February 4.

Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun's Relationship Timeline

Posted: 12 Feb 2022 09:00 AM PST

Finding love in the studio! After Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun collaborated on a single, fans quickly picked up on the chemistry between the musicians.

In December 2020, Lavigne teased that she was working on a new album that would include Mod Sun, Travis Barker and more. One month later, Lavigne and Mod Sun released the song “Flames,” which appeared on the rapper’s album Internet Killed the Rockstar.

At the time, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the pair were “seeing each other” after forming a connection through music. Mod Sun later revealed that they were introduced through their mutual friend Machine Gun Kelly.

"We linked up through just talking about music," the Minnesota native told Metro in February 2021, noting how starstruck he was when the Grammy Award nominee showed interest in his work. "It's hard to even say because it's f–king Avril Lavigne but she was like, 'I really like your song, I really like your music,' and she was like, 'Send me some other stuff that you're working on,’"

Although Mod Sun was initially nervous to ask Lavigne to work with him, the “Complicated” performer ended up as the only collaboration on the album.

“All of a sudden she comes through and I understood the song better after she sang it. I understood why this is a great song. Sometimes as an artist you don't really know,” Mod Sun added. “It's really hard to be, like, ‘This is the song that's gonna make it, or this is the song that's gonna blow up,’ You might think in your head that you have the idea of what's gonna work every time, but most of the time you have no idea what you're making when you're making it.”

The Canada native, for her part, admitted that she tried to resist her connection with Mod Sun when they first met because of her past relationships. Lavigne was previously married to Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2010. She was also married to Chad Kroeger from 2013 to 2015.

“Honestly, I really believed in love. And then I went through the wringer with it,” she told Nylon in December 2021. “Then I finally got back up on my feet and had a relationship just to get f–ked over again. I was just like, ‘I can’t believe that I’ve been hurt or mistreated by this many people. I need a break from relationships.”

Lavigne wasn’t looking for love when she started to grow closer to her now-boyfriend.

“I feel like I’ve had the wind knocked out of me over and over. I’m f–king sick of it. I need to take care of me right now.’ So I bought a house, and I wasn’t waiting for a guy to start a future with. I was like, ‘I’m doing this for me now. I’m the only person, I’m the only one I can rely on,'” she added, noting that she originally put in the “most” effort to not act on her feelings for Mod Sun.

Mod Sun recalled having to "build" up the courage to ask the "Sk8er Boi" singer to work together. "I actually sent her Flames, I want to say maybe two months ago at the most. That’s how this all happened, was that quickly," he told Metro in February 2021. "I sent it to her and she was like 'Wow, I really love this song.' and I didn’t have the guts immediately to be like 'So, you wanna sing on it?'" He continued: "I finally got the guts to ask her, and I was like 'Yo, there’s no one else on my album — I want so badly for you to be on my album as the only person that appears besides myself on it, and you said you really liked that Flames song.'" "Happy birthday to my soulmate, the love of my life, my favorite person in the world…..my angel. To the most radiant + graceful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on, you have made my dreams come true in so many ways," Mod Sun gushed about his girlfriend in a birthday tribute via Instagram. "You are my calm in the chaos + my shelter from the storm. You are elegance + rock n roll wrapped up in one body. I was born without you, dying to find you, I’ll always remind you….I love you with all my heart @avrillavigne + the best is yet to come. Happy birthday my little icon 💚." Courtesy Mod Sun/Instagram

The pop punk songstress opened up about how "hilarious" it was that she found love while working on music inspired by past heartbreak, telling Nylon, "It was like, 'OK, don't tell me you love me unless you mean it. Because I don't want to get f--ked up again.'" MediaPunch/Shutterstock

"I think, in some weird way, [my breakup] hurt me in a sense where I'm finding the more that I fail, the more things that I find that I know I don't want in a relationship," the Canada native, 31, exclusively told Us Weekly at the h.wood Group and Revolve's Homecoming Weekend party in Los Angeles on Friday, February 11. "I think I have more understanding of exactly what I want [and] I think [that] has made me more picky, but the right person will come along and I'll know what it is because I've failed so many times now."

While Moynes, who competed on both season 16 and season 17 of The Bachelorette, admitted he had a "long list" of qualities for a future girlfriend, he's "very happy on [his] own" at the moment.

Moynes revealed he's been on a "few" dates since his breakup from the 31-year-old former bank marketing manager but has not taken it too seriously. "I'm trickling in, I'm not diving in the deep end,” he joked.

Moynes first appeared on Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams' shared season of the ABC reality TV series in October 2020 before returning the following year to romance Thurston. After his late arrival, he proposed during the August 2021 finale. They eventually called off their engagement three months later.

"It is with mutual love and respect that we have decided to go our separate ways. "We ask for kindness and privacy as we both navigate this transition. Both of us will forever want the best for one another and ask you to please support us in our decision."

Celebrities' Most Empowering Quotes About Being Single

Posted: 12 Feb 2022 06:04 AM PST

Flying solo! Celebrities are known for making headlines for their romances, but the single life can be just as fulfilling as being part of a twosome.

Jennifer Aniston has enjoyed her fair share of high-profile relationships including marriages to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 and Justin Theroux from 2015 to 2017. The Friends alum explained to Elle in December 2018 that her marriage to Theroux ended because she chose to put her happiness before the fear of not being in a relationship.

"Sure, there were bumps, and not every moment felt fantastic, obviously, but at the end of it, this is our one life and I would not stay in a situation out of fear,” Aniston said at the time. “Fear of being alone. Fear of not being able to survive. To stay in a marriage based on fear feels like you're doing your one life a disservice.”

As for Pitt, the Horrible Bosses star sent fans into a frenzy when he and Aniston were spotted chatting backstage at the 2020 SAG Awards in January 2020. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star even paused backstage to listen to Aniston give her acceptance speech for her role in The Morning Show. However, a source told Us Weekly in February 2020 that the pair’s relationship is strictly platonic despite the speculation.

"There's nothing romantic going on between Brad and Jen and they actually think it's hysterical that fans are so obsessed with them getting back together," the insider explained.

Taylor Swift is also known for her many famous exes including John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Harry Styles and Calvin Harris. Although the “Lover” songstress has finally settled down with her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, her dating history led her to learn a few lessons about being single.

“[Guys] can be a part of your life but never let the guy be your life,” Swift told Katie Couric in October 2012. “They can live in your world, but never make the guy your world. Knowing who you are and being independent and strong will be attractive to the right guy.”

"If that special man walked into my life, I'm the first one to say I would probably pack my bags and go with him. But it’s a very elusive thing. ... Most women would not be happy being me. Demi Lovato
"The best part about being single is knowing that my happiness is coming from no other person than myself," the "I Love Me" singer wrote in an Instagram Story in December 2020, three months after calling off their engagement to Max Ehrich. Lovato's honest social media upload came shortly after they discussed their "roller-coaster" of a year. "I think the most important thing that I've learned is how much I am OK with myself and loving myself. It wasn't until this year that I really started exploring the things that bring joy to my life in little ways," they said on Today With Hoda & Jenna in November 2020.  The following year, the Disney alum publicly discussed their non-binary identity.  Christopher Polk/E! Drew Barrymore
"Sexual love is secondary to me right now," the Charlie's Angels star told Parade magazine in 2014. Mindy Kaling
"In my 20s, I was not only boy crazy, but marriage and relationship crazy," the Mindy Project star recalled to Flare magazine in 2014. "Now it's almost the opposite. Female Stars Who Proposed to Their Significant Others

Posted: 12 Feb 2022 06:03 AM PST

Shutting down the patriarchy! A man doesn't have to be the one who pops the question — and there are many female stars who have taken control and proposed to their significant others.

Dax Shepard originally proposed to Kristen Bell in 2009, but the pair chose to wait on getting married until marriage equality existed in the U.S. When the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage in June 2013, the Good Place alum asked the former Parenthood star to marry her via Twitter.

".@daxshepard1 will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove," she tweeted at the time, to which he responded, "@IMKristenBell F—k Yes!!!!!!!!!!!"

The longtime pair tied the knot in a Beverly Hills courthouse room later that year. The Chips costars welcomed daughters Lincoln in 2013 and Delta in 2014.

In the fourth episode of Britney Spears' 2005 series, Britney and Kevin: Chaotic, the pop star revealed that she popped the question to Kevin Federline when they were on a flight to New York City to film her "Outrageous" music video. The dancer said that he "didn't expect it" even though he had an idea of where their relationship was heading.

"I was like, 'No, no. It's not supposed to be that way. I'm supposed to propose and do the whole, get on one knee and beg and plead,'" he recalled. "So, she was like, 'Alright, you gotta ask me then.'"

Spears added, "He did, right then and there."

The twosome tied the knot in 2004 and welcomed two sons: Sean Preston in 2005 and Jayden in 2006. They divorced in 2007.

After P.K. Subban proposed to Lindsey Vonn in August 2019, she decided to return the favorite months later. "I was like, 'Well, I have an engagement ring, but you don’t. So, not everybody knows we’re engaged.' And I think it should be like, really equal," she recalled while cohosting Entertainment Tonight in December 2020. "We were going to give each other rings, so I just kind of made a thing about it."

The former alpine ski racer added, "But I never knew it was going to be that big of a deal … I just wanted to do something that was for us, and special for us."

The athletes ultimately pumped the brakes on their romance later that month, splitting after three years together.

Back in 2019, Haley Lu Richardson opened up about her unrehearsed proposal to Brett Dier in a mall food court while eating pizza. "I didn't prepare at all. I had no idea when I woke up that morning that I was going to ask someone to marry me that day," she told Cosmopolitan at the time. "I was totally in the moment and this gut feeling came up and coerced me to ask him to marry me and I did. And he said yes. I feel like the trick to that was just not thinking about it at all before it happened. I just kind of did it."

The Succession star secretly married “one of her best mates” amid the coronavirus pandemic. She revealed in an October 2021 interview with Vogue Australia that she was the one who asked the big question.  “We’ve been friends since 2014, lived together, traveled together, always excited to see each other, but totally platonic,” the Australian actress told the magazine of her new comedian husband who is also an Aussie. “We’ve just never been single at the same time.”  She continued, “I proposed and we got married in February in my backyard."

"She asked me, yeah! On New Year's Eve. We were in Nicaragua. It was very beautiful, incredibly romantic. We were walking down the beach, and she asked me to marry her," Jackson revealed during a July 2021 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "There was, like, a preamble. There was a lead-up to it. ...  I did not know [it was coming], but she was quite adamant, and she was right. This is the best choice I ever made." Joel C Ryan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline

They marked the sweet moment by giving each other rings they made out of twigs from a nearby bush. “We were like, ‘We’re gonna have to do something about it,’ because we didn’t have any rings,” the Five Feet Apart actress recalled to Cosmopolitan in 2019. “So, we went over to this bush and got these twigs and each knelt down one at a time and tied these twigs around our ring fingers. Celebrities Who Had Horrible First Kisses: Jennifer Garner, More

Posted: 12 Feb 2022 06:02 AM PST

Mwah! Puckering up on camera is a major part of many celebrities' careers — and some stars were fortunate enough to have good kisses from the start.

Taylor Swift, for example, ended up in a relationship with the boy who smooched her for the first time. “I was one of the last of my friends to ever kiss a guy. It wasn’t a bad kiss," the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer told Tiger Beat in 2013. "I think it was cute. We ended up dating for a year!"

Similarly, Milo Ventimiglia said his first kiss, which happened when he was a freshman in high school, was scary, but very sweet. "I was shocked and terrified and in love and feeling something I'd never really felt before," he told W magazine in June 2017. "And it was amazing and I wanted it again."

Khloé Kardashian, on the other hand, remembers the circumstances surrounding her first kiss, but can't recall details of the person she shared it with. "It was on a family vacation in Hawaii when I was 12 or 13," she wrote in a blog post on her website in April 2016. "The teenagers were allowed to be out until 10 p.m. and we were in an arcade where the hotel kids hung out. I remember I kissed some guy there and I thought I was so cool and so grown. I don't remember the boy and I can't tell you anything else about the experience."

However, some stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Kristen Stewart, Selena Gomez and Shailene Woodley didn't get as lucky in the kissing department, and have horrible memories of the first time they puckered up.

After the Wizards of Waverly Place alum opened up in March 2020 about her awkward smooch with Dylan Sprouse while filming The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, the actor's twin brother, Cole Sprouse, poked fun at him. Gomez called the moment "one of the worst days of my life" on The Kelly Clarkson Show, leading the Riverdale star to quip via Instagram, "@dylansprouse I can safely say I've never had a girl say this about me."

Making matters a bit more complicated was Gomez's crush on Cole. "I was obsessed with that show, and I thought we were going to be together one day," she recalled on the talk show.

Emily Blunt
The Mary Poppins star opened up about her disastrous first kiss while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in May 2021. “We played spin the bottle and it was my first kiss,” Blunt recalled of her 13th birthday party. “It was a horror show. I was just horrified by the whole thing. I just remember surreptitiously wiping my mouth afterwards. It was horrible.” The English actress said the young man was “attractive” and had great hair, but he went in for the kiss with way too much tongue. “Massively! Not ‘slipped,’ that sounds kind of delicate,” she added. Magnus Sundholm/Shutterstock
Colton Haynes
The Arrow star recalls his first lip-lock as an unpleasant mess. “My first kiss was in the fifth grade, and I was a really big nerd and didn't know how to kiss,” he once told Seventeen. “I think we were playing Truth or Dare, and it was the worst, sloppiest kiss, because we were in fifth grade. There were just too many tongues and it was disgusting." Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images
Selena Gomez
Unlike most people, the “Fetish” singer had her first kiss while cameras were rolling. Gomez opened up about the smooch, which happened with Dylan on an episode of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, with Tiger Beat magazine in 2009. “I actually leaned in to kiss him and I had my eyes closed a little too early and I ended up missing like half of his lip,” she cringed. “So it ended up being the most awkward kiss in the world. But I was 12 so it was okay and it was good.” Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images
Meghan Trainor
The “All About That Bass” songstress had a disgusting reaction to her first kiss. She noted on a January 2016 episode of The Late Late Show With James Corden: “He backed me up to my wall and he was like, ‘Can I kiss you,’ and … I was like, ‘Yeah, hold that thought,’ and then I ran to my bathroom and threw up — not because I was grossed out, because I had the flu and it hit me at that moment in time.” Nathan Congleton/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images
Shailene Woodley
Woodley’s first lip-lock was slightly unbalanced. “My first kiss was just awkward as hell," she told Yahoo in August 2013. "I had no idea what I was doing and he knew exactly what he was doing, so it was awkward for me. You have to nurture your inner child and forgive yourself when you think back on things like that because it's OK!" Stephane Cardinale - Corbis/Corbis via Getty Images
Justin Bieber
The Biebs told ET Canada in February 2011 that kissing a girl for the first time was “kind of awkward.” He explained, “I was, like, 11 or 12. And I was on a snow hill and it was late and we were all cold and I was, like, with this girl and we were together and then I kissed her. It was really awkward.” Shareif Ziyadat/Getty Images
Rihanna
How was the “Diamonds” singer’s first-kiss experience? Traumatic! “My first kiss was in high school and it was the worst thing ever,” she told Rolling Stone in 2011. “He pretty much dumped his entire saliva glands into my mouth. It traumatized me. I didn’t kiss for, like, ever.” Samir Hussein/Samir Hussein/WireImage
Ed Sheeran
The British crooner was inspired by a popular action film, but it didn’t go quite as he planned. “My first kiss with tongues was probably like everyone's first kiss with tongue,” Sheeran told andPOP in 2012. “I think the first kiss I saw on TV was in a James Bond movie where Pierce Brosnan just goes in with tongue, so yeah, it was one of them! Very awkward and wet." Patrick Aventurier/WireImage
Leonardo DiCaprio
Yuck! The Oscar winner called his first smooch “the most disgusting thing in my life.” He explained to Movieline in 1995, “The girl injected about a pound of saliva into my mouth, and when I walked away, I had to spit it all out. It was awful." Robin Utrecht/AFP/Getty Images
Lucy Liu
Liu had a crush on the boy who gave her her first kiss, but she still found it quite gross. “This guy that I had a huge crush on invited me to see Return of the Jedi. I was, like, 15, and very awkward,” she told Entertainment Weekly in March 2010. “He walked me home and then he kissed me. I didn’t know what French kissing was. I remember [thinking], ‘Oh, my God! It’s so disgusting!”’ Bruce Glikas/FilmMagic
Katy Perry
The “Chained to the Rhythm” singer’s first kiss came during a game of Spin the Bottle when she was in sixth grade. “I spun the bottle and, all of a sudden, I felt like there was a wet fish in my mouth,” Perry said in the September 2017 issue of W magazine. “That was my first kiss. When you're in sixth grade, there's no art to French kissing. There's no cadence, no beautiful up and down, no waves. Instead, it just feels like your mouth is getting invaded by a slug." Kristen Stewart
The Twilight alum vividly remembers her first kiss being “horrible.” She told The Daily Beast in September 2015, "It was f—king repulsive. I was 14 and it was gross. It was not good." Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic

Cheer’s Monica Aldama: A Day in My Life

Posted: 12 Feb 2022 06:00 AM PST

Working hard! Monica Aldama exclusively invited Us Weekly to experience a day in her life as the coach of the cheerleading team at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas.

Aldama, 50, who has been featured in Netflix’s docuseries Cheer since its debut in 2020, recently reflected on her career in a new memoir.

“27 years of coaching has taught me many lessons in all areas of life. From parenting, coaching, to relationships, to gaining more confidence – I'm happy to finally share my stories with you in my book, Full Out,” Aldama wrote via Instagram before showing a photo of the dedication page in January. The note read, “Dedicated to everyone who stays after practice to clean up.”

The Dancing With the Stars alum told Us last month that she hoped that readers are able to form a connection with various portions of the book, which hit shelves before season 2 of the sports series dropped on Netflix.

"I definitely think that if you ask different people, the most important chapter is based on what they’re going through in their own personal life," Aldama explained at the time. "There is that whole chapter about positive self-talk. You have to believe in yourself. People love to see other people fail. This past year was really, really tough. There were a lot of times that I just talked to myself and just encouraged myself because I was going through a hard time. It’s very important. You're going to believe everything you tell yourself, so you definitely need to be careful what you say."

Scroll down to take a look at a day in Aldama’s life:
