Nina Dobrev and Shaun White: A Timeline of Their Relationship Posted: 04 Feb 2022 05:00 PM PST More than a summer fling! Nina Dobrev and Shaun White's whirlwind romance has gotten very serious, very quickly. The Vampire Diaries alum and the professional snowboarder sparked dating rumors in February 2020 when fans noticed that they had shared similar photos from a trip to South Africa. One month later, they were photographed together for the first time during a bike ride in Malibu. Us Weekly broke the news in April 2020 that Dobrev and White were, in fact, a couple. A source said at the time, "They're enjoying their time together and getting to know each other better. Nina really likes Shaun, and they both laugh a lot together." The actress made their relationship Instagram official in May 2020 when she shared a photo of herself holding a pair of scissors while the athlete jokingly looked afraid. White later uploaded a video of Dobrev changing up his look, which he captioned, "My hairstylist said he wouldn't, so she did. #QuarantineCuts." An insider exclusively revealed to Us at the time that the duo were "living together" amid the COVID-19 pandemic. "They're super compatible and both free-spirited people," the insider added. "They're very comfortable around each other and both supportive of one another in their fields." Things heated up between Dobrev and White in August 2020 when they took a trip to Tulum, Mexico, where they were spotted getting cozy on a beach and in the water. "Nina and Shaun have gotten really close during the quarantine and have been having the best time traveling together," a source exclusively told Us. "Shaun is super happy and loving life." As the couple's romance has developed, they've become pros at balancing busy schedules and making time to see one another. "We have a nice little system of how to stay in touch," White exclusively told Us Weekly about how the duo manages long-distance dating in October 2021. "Plane tickets are pretty much booked for any opportunity that we can go see one another. So, I know during the holiday break, we're going to meet up, and we're going to meet up again probably around Christmas time. Anything that happens in between, then I'll jet over and see her. You just make it work." He added at the time: "I think that's the goal of it all and the key to it all is just making the time. [Nina’s] super organized and on top of it, so I give it to her. She always finds a way to make it happen." The Degrassi: The Next Generation alum previously dated her Vampire Diaries costar Ian Somerhalder from 2011 to 2013, Bridge of Spies actor Austin Stowell from 2015 to 2016 and former Scream Queens star Glen Powell for most of 2017. The Olympian, for his part, dated rock singer Sarah Barthel from 2014 to 2019. She’s just been so giving in that sense.” White added that the actress has “this overwhelming kindness and care for people,” a quality that he adores. Nina Dobrev Is ‘Anxiously’ Watching BF Shaun White’s Olympic Run From Home Posted: 04 Feb 2022 04:53 PM PST ![]() Team USA all the way! Nina Dobrev might've grown up in Canada, but she is happily rooting for her American boyfriend, Shaun White, to take home the gold at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. "We’ll be anxiously watching from home and cheering him on," the Vampire Diaries alum, 33, exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday, February 4, while promoting her new movie, The One. "I’m very, very excited for him. I can’t wait." The actress was busy celebrating the world premiere of her short film, The One — which is her directorial debut — in Mammoth Lakes, California, when the Winter Games kicked off this week, so she missed the opening ceremonies. (The Olympics officially started on Friday evening in China but aired in the U.S. at 6 a.m. ET.) "I taped it, so it’s at the house, and as soon as I get home, I’m gonna sit down with my girlfriends and we’re gonna catch up and watch," Dobrev, who debuted her short at the Mammoth Film Festival one day prior, explained. The Perks of Being a Wallflower actress, who has been dating the 35-year-old snowboarder since early 2020, expressed excitement over watching her beau compete in one last Winter Games. White previously made it clear that he plans to step back from the Olympics after this year. "I support him in whatever decision he makes, always," Dobrev said. "He’s the only one who could make those decisions." The Degrassi alum pointed out that White has had "such an incredibly long and amazing, successful run of the sport" after already earning three gold medals. "He knows when the time is to throw the hat in, and he’s decided that it’s now," she added. As she patiently waits to see whether White will bring home another medal, Dobrev is focused on her own career, having completed her first film as a director. Now, the Fresh Vine Wine cofounder is ready to add more behind-the-camera work to her resume. ![]() "This is just the first step on a new adventure I plan on embarking on. I’m not gonna not act anymore. I’m definitely gonna do both and produce and continue to write," Dobrev told Us on Friday. "’Cause I cowrote this with William Day Frank and it’s just exciting to have all these different things going on. But directing really kind of felt like an all-encompassing thing. And I loved it." The xXx actress noted that she "loved being on set" and speaking with the actors as well as "guiding them in certain places because I've been there." In addition to going on the film festival circuit with The One, Dobrev has a few other movies coming out soon that she is excited about, including The Out-Law, Sick Girl, Reunion and Woman 99. "I think the common theme between all of them is that [they're] all comedies, which is really fun. Sick Girl is one that I produced and started, so I guess I’m really excited about that one because it’s another one of my babies," she told Us. "It was a real passion project for all of us to bring it together because it was a very low budget film." White is equally as supportive of his girlfriend, exclusively telling Us in October 2021 that Dobrev is "incredibly talented." With reporting by Diana Cooper |
BiP’s Dylan Barbour Hints at Baby Plans With Hannah Godwin on Her Birthday Posted: 04 Feb 2022 04:13 PM PST Another Bachelor Nation success story! Hannah Godwin and Dylan Barbour went searching for love on Bachelor in Paradise, but the real paradise began when they found each other. Godwin joined season 6 of the ABC reality show in the summer of 2019 after striking out on Colton Underwood‘s season of The Bachelor. Barbour, for his part, previously competed for the affections of Hannah Brown on season 15 of The Bachelorette. The couple’s relationship had a rocky start with Godwin first showing interest in Blake Horstmann, who even flew to her hometown to see her a week before Paradise began filming. Godwin later sparked a connection with Barbour but ended up kissing Horstmann multiple times in front of him. Eventually, Godwin chose Barbour and the twosome got engaged at the end of the season. At first, the couple had a long-distance relationship between Godwin’s house in Los Angeles and Barbour’s home in San Diego. However, they found themselves unexpectedly living together amid the coronavirus quarantine. "Luckily, we're both easygoing so being trapped together in sweats all day with my BFF isn't a bad day," the Bachelor alum told Us Weekly in March 2020. Barbour added, "It makes us want to live together and puppy fever is through the roof." The pair’s time in self-isolation also helped them discover new things about each other. "I've learned that Dylan has zero fear when it comes to expiration dates on food," Godwin said at the time. "Pretty sure we used two-year-old mustard the other day. Honestly, not too bad!" Barbour, meanwhile, stumbled upon the social media influencer’s favorite food. "I didn't know Han liked banana pancakes till I made them the other morning," he said. "Now, they're on my regular breakfast menu." Four months later, Godwin shared that she wasn’t sure if they would have issues living together, but the former beauty pageant contestant was pleasantly surprised. "Although we have a good balance in our relationship, you never know what type of roommate someone will be until you actually live with them for a long period of time," she said in July 2020. "Luckily, Dylan has been an awesome roommate and we really balance chores out well. We're also good at giving each other personal space when we need it, too!" "Getting to spend more time in San Diego has definitely made me realize how much I love it and getting to spend more time with Dylan makes me realize how much I love coffee in bed every morning,” the reality star said at the time. “We are definitely on the hunt for a bigger San Diego place that we can both call home!” Marion Curtis/StarPix for Kensie/Shutterstock ![]() Godwin told Us that they aren't "rushing" their wedding plans because of the coronavirus pandemic. "So, the wedding planning journey I put to a little bit of a pause just with COVID and everything," the Alabama native said at the time. "And we're trying to wait to see what the state of the world is going to be in the next year or two. So, for now, I'm Pinterest boarding it and saving photos and we're talking about it and getting excited about it. But, I think that'll just make it even more special when we're able to actually have our big fun day." "They're like, ‘When's the wedding already? What's taking you forever?' ... We're chillin’. I think why we've been kind of cool with just chillin’ is because, like, we have a mortgage together. It's funny how people get so angry. One day we'll give it to them and they'll be really excited, hopefully." Barbour chimed in, revealing the pair were eyeing a spring 2023 wedding date. "It takes 12 months to plan a wedding, but we're not gonna get married in the winter," he said. "We did look at venues. We have a planner." Marion Curtis/StarPix for Kensie/Shutterstock |

The Real Housewives producer cracked a smile and replied, "Don't touch it? You want me to touch it?" Cohen, who welcomed Ben in February 2019 via surrogate, was then met by his little one, who could not stop smiling and bouncing around while taking pictures with the TV personality. He moves through all levels and truly appreciates each and every person he comes in contact with." Everything Kanye Has Said About Kim Kardashian Since Their Split Posted: 04 Feb 2022 03:02 PM PST Still worth discussing. Kanye West has not remained mum about his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, since their split. Us Weekly confirmed in February 2021 that the Skims founder filed for divorce from the rapper after six years of marriage and months of rumors about an impending separation. A source revealed that the pair "had a big fight" in December 2020 that pushed her to her breaking point. Kardashian hinted at the reasons behind the split during a June 2021 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. "I just think he deserves someone who will support his every move and go follow him all over the place and move to Wyoming. I can't do that," she explained. "He should have a wife that supports his every move and travels with him and does everything, and I can't. I feel like a f–king failure. It's my third f–king marriage. Yeah, I feel like a f–king loser. But I can't even think about that. I want to be happy." The reality star elaborated on how West's relocation to Wyoming affected their marriage during an episode that aired later that month. "After turning 40 this year, I realized like, 'No, I don't want a husband that lives in a completely different state,'" she noted. "To me, I thought, 'Oh, my God, that's when we're getting along the best,' but then that is sad to me and that's not what I want. I want someone that we have the same shows in common. I want someone who wants to work out with me. … I have all the big things. I have the extravagant everything you can possibly imagine and no one will ever do it like that — I know that, and I'm grateful for those experiences — but I think I'm ready for the smaller experiences that I think will mean a lot." The KKW Beauty founder insisted during the June 2021 Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion special that there was not "one specific thing that happened on either part" to cause the breakup. Instead, "a general difference of opinions on a few things" led to the decision. Kardashian and West — who share daughters North and Chicago and sons Saint and Psalm — remained friends after their split. They reunited publicly on multiple occasions: He advised her on her 2021 Met Gala ensemble and her Saturday Night Live hosting debut in October 2021 (during which she joked about their divorce) and she agreed to recreate their wedding at one of his Donda listening parties in August 2021. "They have more of a friendship and working relationship as they coparent," an insider told Us in October 2021, adding that she "will be involved with Kanye's work ventures and he will be involved with hers." Scroll through the gallery below to revisit everything West has said about Kardashian since their split. ![]() The Grammy winner seemingly admitted to cheating on the TV personality during their marriage in his August 2021 song “Hurricane.” The lyrics read, “Here I go actin’ too rich / Here I go with a new chick / And I know what the truth is / Still playin’ after two kids / It’s a lot to digest when your life always movin’.” A source told Us the following month that the track was “a testimony from Kanye about everything that went wrong [in his relationship with Kardashian] and him taking accountability,” noting that the “lyrics really speak for themselves.” Another insider revealed that Kardashian was warned about the song’s content. “She wasn’t blindsided, but it is what it is,” the source said. “She’s known her whole marriage/life with Kanye that he’s an open book and there’s nothing she could ever do to stop him from saying whatever he wants. But she had a heads-up.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() Kardashian’s black Balenciaga bodysuit caused a stir at the Met Gala in September 2021, but West showed his support by posting photos of the ensemble — which he helped create — via Instagram. We’re not even divorced,” he claimed during part one of his Revolt’s “Drink Champs” appearance. “So how we — because [it’s] no joke to me, my kids want their parents to stay together. I want their parents — I want us to be together.” Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() West claimed in November 2021 that people around the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum are sabotaging her attempts to become an attorney. “I feel like there’s people who might not want Kim Kardashian to become a lawyer,” he alleged during part two of his “Drink Champs” appearance. “Because you know what happens if Kim Kardashian becomes a lawyer? That shirt gets a little bit higher, that cleavage gets a little bit more covered up.” Courtesy of Kim Kardashian/Instagram ![]() The “Heartless” rapper once again hinted at a reunion with Kardashian during part two of his “Drink Champs” appearance. “But at the end of the day, I ain’t got the paperwork yet, so I’m [going to] come on this joint and try to save my family and keep my family together,” he said. Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock; Willy Sanjuan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() The rapper gave a speech about his marriage while visiting Skid Row in November 2021. “The narrative that God wants is for you to see that everything can be redeemed,” he said at the time. “In all these relationships, we’ve made mistakes. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve publicly done things that were not acceptable as a husband, but right now today, for whatever reason — I didn’t know I was going to be standing right here, I didn’t know I was going to be in front of this mic — but I’m here to change that narrative.” He added, "I have to be next to my children as much as possible. So when I’m out [of] the house, I’ve got a house right next to the house. I’m doing everything to be right next to the situation." Later in the speech, he hinted that God will bring them back together, telling the crowd, "If the enemy can separate Kimye, there’s going to be millions of families that feel like that separation is OK … [but] when God — who has already won and is so — brings Kimye together, there’s going to be millions of families that are going to be influenced and see that they can overcome the work of the separation, of trauma of the devil that’s used to capitalize and keep people in misery while people step over homeless people to go to the Gucci store." "And that’s what I want everybody to know: Don’t play with me, don’t play with my children, ain’t no security gonna get in between me and my children and you ain’t finna gaslight me." Who Is Tracy Romulus? What to Know About Kim K.’s Pal That Kanye Called Out Posted: 04 Feb 2022 02:08 PM PST Pointing the finger. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's divorce got even uglier when they took their disputes public, but he complicated things further when he dragged her friend Tracy Romulus into the drama. The rapper, 44, slammed the reality star, 41, on Friday, February 4, for allowing their 8-year-old daughter, North, to have a TikTok account. "SINCE THIS IS MY FIRST DIVORCE I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO ABOUT MY DAUGHTER BEING PUT ON TIK TOK AGAINST MY WILL?" he wrote via Instagram. West has lashed out at Kardashian — with whom he also shares son Saint, 6, daughter Chicago, 4, and son Psalm, 2 — multiple times since she filed for divorce in February 2021. In January, he claimed during an Instagram Live that the Skims founder would not give him the address of their youngest daughter's birthday party. Following the Grammy winner's most recent post, Kardashian shared a lengthy statement about the situation. "Kanye's constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create," she explained via her Instagram Story on Friday. "As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness." Kardashian went on to accuse West of making matters worse for their kids following their split. "Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye's obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all," she continued. Why Kanye West Is Making Kim Kardashian Divorce Drama Public Posted: 04 Feb 2022 01:51 PM PST Keeping up the controversy? Kanye West can't stop airing his and Kim Kardashian's drama publicly amid their divorce battle. "He likes being in control and having that power," a source exclusively tells Us Weekly, noting that the Yeezy designer, 44, is "feeling powerless" as Kardashian, 41, moves forward with the divorce. The "Jesus Walks" rapper recently has chosen to speak out on social media — bashing the KKW Beauty founder for letting their 8-year-old daughter, North, use TikTok — because "that's where he feels he's heard the most," the insider says. West, who also shares Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2, with Kardashian, has been vocal about not wanting to get divorced after his estranged wife filed for separation in February 2021. “Kanye is putting divorce matters to the back burner," the source adds. "He didn’t choose divorce and isn’t liking that Kim is basically ‘winning’ so far when it comes to the kids [and] the home." The Grammy winner's recent outburst may seem like an attempt to make Kardashian "look like a bad person, but it's not intentional," the insider explains, noting that West is "just trying to win power back." The rapper's comments about wanting North off TikTok is "another example of him just wanting control," the source tells Us, adding that the father of four "feels she's too young to be on social media." West turned heads last month when he claimed that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum and her family wouldn't tell him the location of their daughter Chicago's birthday party. While the "Gold Digger" musician later made an appearance at the January bash, his social media rant about the incident "shocked" his estranged wife, a source exclusively told Us at the time. The "Stronger" artist raised eyebrows again on Friday, February 4, when he posted a screenshot of one of North's TikTok videos, writing, "SINCE THIS IS MY FIRST DIVORCE I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO ABOUT MY DAUGHTER BEING PUT ON TIK TOK AGAINST MY WILL?" Kardashian clapped back at her estranged husband's remarks via a social media statement of her own on Friday. "Kanye's constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create," she wrote via her Instagram Story. "As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness." The Skims founder added: "Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye's obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all." West then fired back via his Instagram, writing, "What do you mean by main provider? America saw you try to kidnap my daughter on her birthday by not providing the address." He claimed that Kardashian "put security on [him] inside of the house to play with [their] son." The Georgia-born rapper alleged that he was also accused of stealing by the Selfish author and "had to take a drug test after Chicago's party cause you accused me of being on drugs." Kanye West: Kim Made Me Take a Drug Test, Accused Me of Stealing Posted: 04 Feb 2022 01:35 PM PST ![]() Not on the same page. Kanye West didn’t waste time addressing Kim Kardashian‘s public clap back at him — and the rapper had even more issues to air out. “What do you mean by main provider ? America saw you try to kid nap my daughter on her birthday by not providing the address,” West, 44, wrote via Instagram on Friday, February 4. “You put security on me inside of the house to play with my son then accused me of stealing I had to take a drug test after Chicago's party cause you accused me of being on drugs Tracy Romulus stop manipulating Kim to be this way…” The performer’s allegations about Romulus, 40, who is a Kardashian family friend and CMO of KKW Beauty, came hours after he ignited a social media argument. West, who shares North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2, with the reality star, 41, initially claimed his estranged wife didn’t include him when it came to parenting their children, writing via Instagram, "SINCE THIS IS MY FIRST DIVORCE I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO ABOUT MY DAUGHTER BEING PUT ON TIK TOK AGAINST MY WILL ?" After the Grammy winner’s post made headlines, the Skims founder accused her estranged husband of “constant attacks” against her since their split. “As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness,” Kardashian explained in her own Instagram post on Friday. “Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye's obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all." The beauty mogul continued: "I wish to handle all matters regarding our children privately and hopefully he can finally respond to the third attorney he has had in the last year to resolve any issues amicably." West previously made people question whether he was on good terms with Kardashian when he alleged that she didn’t invite him to his youngest daughter's 4th birthday party. The music producer later claimed that Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner helped him attend Chicago’s celebration. "Yo, I'm so happy right now," the Georgia native said on Instagram Live in early last month. "Everyone just had a great time. I'm just really happy that I could be there for my children. I just want to thank everybody's support in this situation [and] let me just calmly and legally take control of my narrative." At the time, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum wasn’t thrilled by West’s accusations. “Kim was shocked to learn that he released a video about not being invited to her party — that's not true and as soon as he asked to come he was given the location," the insider said, noting there were "always two parties planned" for their child. Kardashian, who filed for divorce in February 2021 after six years of marriage, has since moved on with Pete Davidson. Meanwhile, West has been dating model Julia Fox after they celebrated New Year’s Eve together. In December 2021, the KKW Beauty founder filed paperwork requesting to be declared legally single amid her divorce. “The parties' marriage has irremediably broken down. [Kardashian] no longer desires to be married to [West]," the documents stated, noting that there was “no possibility of saving” the marriage. "There is no question that the marriage of the parties is no longer viable. [Kardashian] has no desire to reconcile with [West] and wants their marriage terminated. Us Weekly has reached out to reps for Kardashian, West and Romulus for comment. |
Why Julia Fox ‘Immediately’ Told Kanye About Her Past Romance With Drake Posted: 04 Feb 2022 01:04 PM PST ![]() Setting the record straight. Julia Fox confirmed the rumors that she dated Drake before sparking a romance Kanye West — but the Yeezy designer isn’t bothered by their history. “Like, I wouldn’t say that we were dating,” the Uncut Gems star, 32, confessed during the Friday, February 4, episode of her “Forbidden Fruits” podcast. “[Drake is] a great guy and a gentleman and that was it. Nothing really happened. We were just, like, friends hanging out.” Fox went on the joke that her relationship with Drake, 35, was “fully … two years ago” and therefore irrelevant. While the “Flashing Lights” rapper, 44, has feuded with the Canada native in the past, Fox didn’t think her fling would cause an issue. “I feel like they’ve squashed their issues,” the No Sudden Move actress added. “Obviously, when I first started speaking to Ye … I told him, like, immediately.” She continued: “Like, I think [I told Ye] on the first day before it went any further because I’m just an honest person, I guess.” Fox was first linked to the “Gold Digger” musician in December 2021 after they were spotted together on New Year’s Eve — and it didn’t take long for their whirlwind romance to heat up. ![]() “It was an instant connection. His energy is so fun to be around,” the Italy native said in January while recapping one of their dates with Interview magazine. “Everything with us has been so organic. I don't know where things are headed but if this is any indication of the future I'm loving the ride.” West’s budding relationship comes on the heels of his public attempts to win back estranged wife Kim Kardashian after their February 2021 split. The duo were married for nearly seven years and share four children: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2. Despite speculation from fans — and as West airs out his drama with Kardashian, 41 — Fox made it clear that dating the Grammy winner wasn’t a “PR stunt” to benefit their careers. (The reality star, for her part, has moved on with Pete Davidson.) “I feel like, to the people who know us both personally, like, all the people that we have in common, like, friends in common, have texted me like, 'Oh, my God, this makes so much sense,'” the PVT Chat actress said during a January episode of her podcast. “There's always people that think every single celebrity scandal is a setup. I personally don't. Listen, for right now, I'm just living in the moment and I don't have any expectations — there's no labels, none of that. It's just people that make each other feel better.” The Puppet star later said that West gave her hope after her own divorce from Peter Artemiev, with whom she shares son Valentino, 12 months. “The overall message is that if ur in a toxic relationship, get out of it cuz u never know who or what could be waiting on the other side,” Fox told New York Magazine‘s The Cut last month. While Fox admitted that her relationship with the “Heartless” rapper progressed “so quickly,” she said that she just wanted to enjoy it: “I'm going with the universe and the flow and seeing where it takes me.” |
'Manipulation'? Katie Thurston Shades 'Bachelor' Production Tricks Posted: 04 Feb 2022 12:24 PM PST Putting the real in reality TV? While eagle-eyed Bachelor fans shared their theories about potential production tricks to keep the identities of Clayton Echard's final contestants under wraps, Katie Thurston is adding her two cents to the conversation. Katie, 30, replied to a fan's TikTok post on Thursday, February 3, in which a social media user speculated that the ABC producers have attempted to pull the wool over the eyes of viewers while teasing the remained of season 26. "The Bachelor is manipulating you," TikTok user @gillydeee claimed in her video, to which the season 17 Bachelorette lead replied, "Manipulation? Noooo. This is In the rest of the TikTok, the fan points out, "They're making you think [the woman in the black dress] is Shanae [Ankney] and Genevieve [Parisi], but look, black dress [and] red dress. Genevieve is not wearing a red dress, one, Shanae has, like, jewels. They try to make you think Shanae is crying but look at the bitch crying, she doesn't have the jewels on the front!" The social media revelation came after rewatching a December 2021 sneak peek of an upcoming episode, in which the former football player, 28, told two women he was intimate with both of them. While the end of Clayton's journey remains to be seen, Katie's turn as Bachelorette didn't skimp on the drama. The Washington native previously competed on season 25 of The Bachelor before being named The Bachelorette last year. Amid Katie's onscreen journey to find love, she fell for finalists Greg Grippo (whom she alleged gaslit her), Michael Allio and eventual winner Blake Moynes. While the former bank marketing manager nearly quit her overwhelming journey, she stuck it out and eventually accepted a proposal from the 31-year-old Canada native. "At that moment, I was at my lowest and really wanted to leave," Katie previously told Us Weekly ahead June 2021 premiere, noting she was unsure whether she would find her happy ending on the show. "And if it wasn't for the amazing women who have been Bachelorettes before helping me navigate that, I probably would have. And so, I'm so thankful for all of them." She continued at the time: "I think I was just, like, so overwhelmed. You see [me], like, crying of relief and happiness and excitement to have [cohosts Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams] there to help me. … I'm excited. I'm anxious [and] I'm scared, you know, reliving those connections or heartbreak, that's going to be tough." Katie and Blake called it quits on their romance in October 2021, three months after the season 17 finale aired. Since then, she's moved on with former contestant John Hersey, who she sent home during the second week of her journey. The Bachelor airs Mondays on ABC at 8 p.m. ET. |

Ice, Ice, Baby! 6 Things to Know About 2022 U.S. Olympic Figure Skating Team Posted: 04 Feb 2022 12:14 PM PST Ice, ice, baby! Team USA's Olympic figure skating team is packed with talent — making them a strong competitor in every event. The roster for the 2022 Beijing Games, which kicked off on Friday, February 4, is made up of 16 athletes, who will compete in a variety of disciplines both solo and partnered. The ice dancers include Jean-Luc Baker, Evan Bates, Zachary Donohue, Kaitlin Hawayek, Madison Hubbell and Madison Chock. The pairs competitors feature Ashley Cain-Gribble, Brandon Frazier, Alexa Knierim and Timothy LeDuc. The team is rounded out by the women's singles contenders, including Mariah Bell, Karen Chen and Alysa Liu. The men's singles lineup features Jason Brown, Nathan Chen and Vincent Zhou. Fans may be familiar with Nathan, 22, who was the one to watch at the 2018 Olympics. While the athlete didn't make it on the podium in his solo event, he has come to his second Games with even more determination to get the gold. "Rather than it being a demon, I think it was a helpful learning experience," the young athlete told reporters after his short program skate on Friday, reflecting on his past performances at the Winter Games. His return to the Games started with a killer solo skate, which pleased Nathan. "I may not be the most emotional person, but deep down I'm genuinely very happy," he added. Ice dance partners Donohue, 31, and Hubbell, 30, for their part, previously announced that they are retiring after the 2021-2022 season making these Olympics their last chance at a medal. “After 11 years, I've probably been my worst self to Zach, out of anybody in my whole life,” Hubbell told reporters in February, reflecting on her highs and lows both romantically and professionally with her partner. ” And he still looks at me and he's like, ‘It's fine and I love you and I'll see you tomorrow.’ And that's something where it bonds you for life.” The duo dated for two and a half years during the early days of their partnership but have since formed an even stronger bond both on and off the ice. “To be able to just look at someone and say ‘I love you,’ in a way that I don't love other people, is something powerful to admit,” Hubbell, who is now engaged to Spanish ice dancer Adrian Diaz, added. “It's helped us in the last couple years re-form a new bond and a new friendship. And it's part of that calm I think that we're feeling on the ice now with each other. We look at each other and there's full trust and vulnerability and adoration.” Scroll down to learn more about the U.S. figure skating team: ![]() Bates, 33, is the only U.S. figure skater of any discipline to compete in four Olympic Games, appearing in 2010, 2014 and 2018. Ice dancer Baker’s parents were both competitive ice skaters, with his father, Stephen Baker, taking the ice at the 1976 World Junior Championships. His mother, Sharon Jones Baker, represented the U.K. as an ice dancer at the 1988 Calgary Olympics. The 28-year-old athlete, for his part, has been skating with Hawayek, 25, for a decade. Sharna Burgess and Brian Austin Green's Relationship Timeline Posted: 04 Feb 2022 11:26 AM PST Better together! Sharna Burgess and Brian Austin Green found happiness with one another following a PDA-filled Hawaiian vacation in December 2020 — but that was only the beginning of their love story. Burgess first hinted at the romance earlier that month when she exclusively told Us Weekly that she was seeing someone new. "It's been really awesome," the pro dancer told Us at the time. "I actually am not on the market anymore. But it's very new and very, you know, it's dating, essentially. No one's calling us a relationship yet." The Australia native explained that dating during the coronavirus pandemic definitely made it more interesting. "How funny would it be if I actually found the love of my life during a pandemic?" she added at the time. "I’m looking for that soulmate stuff — that thing where that something inside you recognizes that something inside them." The couple went Instagram official in January 2021 with Burgess posting a steamy photo of them kissing on a balcony. That same month, a source told Us that the twosome’s bond was only getting better with time. “Their vacation to Hawaii has brought them closer. While they’ve become Instagram official, people don’t see how close they’ve actually become since their meeting,” the insider revealed. “Those who know them can see them being together for the long haul and getting super serious.” While the source noted that the Masked Dancer judge “doesn’t want to be in that type of limelight,” the duo were still getting more comfortable in their relationship. Burgess even shared a glimpse at how dating in quarantine made their romance more meaningful during their first public appearance together in March. “We took out time and we really got to know each other for who we are on the inside. And we really built something beautiful,” she told Entertainment Tonight during their first public appearance in March 2021. Burgess opened up how she wanted to scream about her relationship “from the mountaintops,” but that at the same time, she wanted to keep it private. “That anonymity, that little secret that was just ours. We kept that for as long as we could,” she gushed about dating in quarantine. “It was a different way of dating. We really took our time. We took four or five dates before we even kissed. It was truly about getting to know the human being, because that’s where we are both at in our lives. I’m not really dating for fun, I’m dating for serious. I want to get to know you on the inside.” The Knots Landing alum was previously married to Megan Fox. He confirmed their split in May 2020 after nearly 10 years of marriage. I've always loved kids. A lot of my friends have kids now and I'm obsessed with them, so it was really wonderful for me to be able to connect with them.” The actor praised Burgess’ ability to connect with his sons, adding, "She's great with them, she really is. She's super fun. They love hanging out with her and doing things and she has a great connection with each one of them. … She just instinctually sort of knows how to not be a stepparent in that way, but really just bond with them and love them." That life and love and all things in between could feel so inexplicably deep and connected and transparent and .... Right. Loving you is the easiest thing I’ve ever done and I’ll celebrate your existence today and all days, In all the ways, always. Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood's Relationship: A Timeline Posted: 04 Feb 2022 11:11 AM PST A storybook love. Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are one of the country music’s most famous couples, but they’ve definitely had their ups and downs. "People thought, Well, two celebrities who are in the same business, they won't last,'” Yearwood shared with Us Weekly in 2018. "I'm invested in this family, this is what I want for myself and no offense to anything else in my past, but I get it, I get it now and this is what I want. So we just earn it. Day by day." She also added that in order to make their relationship work, they’re all about the scheduling. “We plan our days if we're gonna be apart so that we can get back together as soon as possible,” the “Walkaway Joe” singer said. The following year, the two-time Grammy Award winner said that he’s continuously learning more about his wife — something he can’t get enough of. "I think how she inspires me is she thinks differently than me. And so it forces you out of just what you think you know, into what don't you know, and to look over in there," he told Us ahead of their 14-year wedding anniversary. “We're kind of in that stage where we have discussions that are intense, a little more than usual.” "I think what he's saying is that he listens to me and I'm usually right," Yearwood responded. Over the years, the pair couldn’t help but compliment each other. “I just want to be wherever she's at. I love breathing the same air she's breathing,” the “Long Neck Bottle” crooner told Parade magazine in 2016. In that same interview, she revealed that it’s all about really knowing each other. “I just think we’re meant to be,” the three-time Grammy Award winner said. “We have a friendship that's a great base for all of it.” In 2019, Brooks took home the Entertainer of the Year Award at the American Music Awards. They shared a long kiss when he was announced as the winner and at the end of his speech, he couldn’t help but send love to his wife. “I love you Trisha Yearwood,” he yelled. This has probably been the most we’ve ever gone through as a couple, but what’s on the other side is so great especially when you are with the right one.” Courtesy of Garth Brooks/Twitter ![]() Nearly 15 years after they tied the knot, Yearwood gushed about what makes her husband a great partner. "At the end of the day, even when I’m mad at him, [Garth] listens," the "How Do I Live" singer told Us. "Even when I think he’s not listening to me, he is. And he’s kind. He’s very generous and he’s very thoughtful." She added that Brooks still makes an effort to be a gentleman both on and off stage. "He does call me 'Miss Yearwood' at home. And I’m like, ‘Dude, like, we’ve been together for a long time. You can call me Trisha," Yearwood continued. "It’ll just be, like, ‘Miss Yearwood’ or ‘the queen.' And I never asked him to call me the queen. I never asked him to bow. I allow him to, but I don’t ask him. I don’t make him do that." Kevin Wolf/AP/Shutterstock |
Alison Brie and Dave Franco’s Best Quotes About Their Relationship Posted: 04 Feb 2022 10:38 AM PST Just for them. Alison Brie and Dave Franco have been relatively private about their relationship through the years, but on the rare occasion that they do open up about each other, their quotes are swoon-worthy. Us Weekly revealed in May 2012 that the Community alum and the Neighbors actor had been dating for "at least five or six months." The couple largely kept their romance outside the spotlight until Us confirmed in August 2015 that they were engaged. "I don't even know if I want to get married," Brie told Elle Canada in 2012. "I've never been the girl who's planning my dream wedding — I was always practicing my speech for the Oscars. That was my dream, which is kind of sad but kind of great." The actress elaborated on her aversion to marriage before noting that the right person could affect her point of view. "I don't know that I'm the marrying kind," she said. "It's hard to work in an industry that changes from minute to minute and then lock into thinking of something as forever. It's kind of daunting. Maybe I just haven't met the right guy yet — that's the flip side." Us confirmed in March 2017 that Brie and Franco tied the knot. "It was great. It was really special. It was intimate, and it was really fun," he told Entertainment Tonight of their "low-profile" wedding. The GLOW alum got real in June 2018 about the pair's decision to not expand their family, noting that they consider their cats Harry and Arturo to be their "children." "I don't really want to have kids. It's great because I don't worry about when I should get pregnant — between seasons, while we're shooting the show — I don't think about it every day," she explained to The Sunday Times. "It would be nice, but I think of all the things that would be so stressful. I think about how much we're involved in our cats' lives. Oh, my God, if it was a child!" The duo have collaborated with each other on a regular basis since their relationship began. Brie gushed via Instagram in August 2021 that she "wrote a movie with my favorite person in the world and he agreed to direct it too," referring to her and Franco's Somebody I Used to Know. Scroll through the gallery below to read Brie and Franco's best quotes about each other and their marriage! ![]() The Mad Men alum reiterated in a February 2016 interview with Yahoo! Style that marriage “never really interested” her. However, the actor changed her mind. “I just met that person that I was like, ‘Well, I’m really in love with you and would like to grow old with you,’” she recalled. “I actually think it’s much more romantic when two people are like, ‘Oh, I could go either way on marriage, but I want to marry you.’” Shutterstock ![]() Brie revealed during a June 2017 appearance on Larry King Now that Franco got down on one knee in Big Sur, California, but she didn’t answer him right away. “I was so shocked that I actually burst out laughing and asked him a number of times if he was being serious before saying yes,” she recounted. Shutterstock; YouTube ![]() The Now You See Me star joked in September 2017 about how he and the How to Be Single actress connected over their love of cats. “I don’t know when I became the quirky cat guy. … At one point in my life, I was the single guy with two 16-pound cats,” he quipped on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “It definitely weeds out a lot of potential dating partners. … We call them the small panthers. Alison loves them, thank God. She was really my only option [for marriage].” Elsewhere in the interview, Franco divulged that he had the “first panic attack of my life” when Brie threw him a surprise birthday party months into their relationship: “Alison and I still talk about how if we can survive my surprise party, we can survive anything.” Shutterstock ![]() “It’s so nice to work with your person, to be on set with someone who is the person you feel the most comfortable with in the world,” Brie told HelloGiggles in November 2017 of collaborating with Franco. “It’s a really great feeling, especially to be intimate with them on set or to have romantic or kissing scenes with that person. It’s delightfully easy. … We do really love working with each other.” Shutterstock ![]() The Golden Globe nominee described her marriage as “super-mellow” in a June 2018 interview with The Sunday Times. “We spend time together at night. We just like to hang out,” she raved. “Having a really supportive partner in my life and knowing that he loves me no matter what. I’ve found my person.” Shutterstock ![]() Brie recounted the “very romantic story” of how she met Franco in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Her friend invited him to dinner after they bumped into each other at the airport. The pal then texted the Los Angeles native under the table to see if she wanted to hook up with the Nerve actor and she said yes. Franco replied that he was “in,” but their friend made them both promise to keep the exchange quiet. “It was the perfect setup because we both got to leave the restaurant [and] head out to the evening of drinking and debauchery having, like, a sexy secret that we knew the other person was on board,” Brie said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in July 2020. That turned into “48 hours of drugs and sex and a lot of making out.” Brie then followed Franco to New York and Paris, where he was shooting a movie. “He left a secret note in my sweatshirt on our last day of our trip in New York, saying, ‘Come with me to Paris,’ and so in cliché fashion … How could I say no?” Shutterstock ![]() "So my husband’s directorial debut THE RENTAL comes out tomorrow and holy s--t...I’m so damn proud of him," Brie captioned a photo via Instagram of her husband behind-the-scenes in July 2020. "He made a beautiful, complicated, horrifying film. And I got to be in it! This film is special to me in so many ways and I’m just so excited for you all to see it. Here’s a picture of the two of us on set together. You can see how I never fail to make this guy laugh. " Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Brie marked the conclusion of filming for her and Franco’s film with a PDA-filled Instagram pic in November 2021. “That’s a wrap on Somebody I Used to Know!” she wrote. “Spoiler alert: I’m in love with the director.” Courtesy of Alison Brie/Instagram ![]() "My wife and I, we met at Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Over that weekend, she was wearing this silver Mardi Gras mask on her head, and I'd try to take it from her and she wouldn't let me take it. It was this playful back and forth," Franco recalled during an appearance on The Late Late Show in February 2022. "And when she left New Orleans, I was still there for work, she left a little note for me. What she didn't know was that I kept the mask." The Fright Night star later incorporated the special moment into his proposal. "So, cut to five years later, we're going up to Big Sur and I decide this is the trip where I'm gonna propose. I knew she wanted to pick out the ring herself, so I was like, 'I'm not gonna have the ring, but I've got the mask. That's the special thing I've got," he added. "So, she turns around, I'm on one knee, I'm wearing the mask and holding up the ring." Franco concluded: "But, because it had been five years, she couldn't place the mask. She didn't know what it was! So the entire proposal is her saying, 'What is happening right now?' And it's me trying to explain how sweet it is that I kept the mask for five years!" Demi Burnett Says ‘BiP’ Fans Have Maurissa and Riley’s Breakup ‘So Wrong’ Posted: 04 Feb 2022 10:31 AM PST ![]() Setting things straight — or sparking more speculation? Demi Burnett teased that things aren’t as they seem when it comes to Bachelor in Paradise‘s Maurissa Gunn and Riley Christian‘s recent split. “Y’all got the Maurissa and Riley break up SO WRONG,” the “Big Demi Energy” podcast host, 26, wrote on Twitter on Thursday, February 3. After some social media users accused her of using someone else’s breakup to get attention, Burnett explained that she only wanted to correct the narrative surrounding Gunn, 25, and Christian, 32, deciding to end their engagement. “I'm mad at the BS being portrayed!” she wrote. “I don't want to talk about it bc it's stressful and not my business to tell! BUT LOOK DEEPER LISTEN TO UR INTUITION.” Though neither one of her former castmates publicly responded to her comments, Gunn “liked” both of Burnett’s tweets. Gunn and Christian, who got engaged on the season 7 finale of Bachelor in Paradise, announced in January that they had called it quits. “We have decided to go our separate ways,” the couple said in a joint statement. “We've appreciated everyone's love and support so far throughout our journey and we just ask that you please respect our privacy as we navigate through this.” ![]() Leading up to the breakup announcement, Bachelor Nation fans noticed that the Bachelor season 24 contestant had removed photos of Christian from her Instagram profile. Gunn also shared a video without her engagement ring and a cryptic quote that read, “All that glitters is not gold.” Following the statement, the Georgia native shared an Instagram post from Burnett encouraging people to treat women with “respect.” “Just a reminder that people are living in fear every day even people on tv can be going through it without you knowing it so I am saying TALK ABOUT IT MORE and never stop fighting for equal rights!” the post read. “Also remember to be good to women because even if you aren't a misogynistic person they might be living in a world where they are oppressed every day, so maybe go out of your way to make sure she knows she's being treated with respect.” Burnett’s post concluded with the reminder that “women doing this for each other can change the world.” While the couple themselves have not publicly commented on the split, Natasha Parker shared some details about what went wrong between Gunn and Christian. “[Maurissa] was just saying how there was so much that happened between them that they kind of just wanted to keep it between each other,” the Bachelor season 24 alum, 33, said during an episode of her "Click Bait With Bachelor Nation" podcast in late January. She continued: “I think that they just have very different lives, at least from my understanding of what she was saying. She completely integrated into his life and I think that she kind of missed her family, she missed her friends.” Despite throwing herself “full-throttle” into her new romance, Parker added that Gunn “told me she has no regrets, and I think that's a beautiful thing.” |
James McAvoy Confirms He Secretly Married Lisa Liberati Posted: 04 Feb 2022 10:25 AM PST Their best-kept secrets! From Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner‘s Las Vegas vows to Niecy Nash‘s hush-hush ceremony, some celebs have hidden their wedding days from the public eye. The Jonas Brothers singer and the Game of Thrones alum tied the knot two times in 2019: first during a private ceremony in Las Vegas and again in France in front of friends and family. Clips from their Vegas nuptials were shared online by Diplo and took everyone by surprise — even Jonas’ parents. “Well, in my mind, you know, that was the legal portion of the marriage,” the DNCE singer said during a radio interview in June 2019. “So I was thinking, like, ‘Look, this is not the most important day. There’s an important day, I mean, I’ll keep private, but ahead of us. So we were, like — this is, like, just whoever’s in town.” The former Disney star later revealed that his mom and dad, Denise and Paul Kevin Jonas, learned about their son’s legal ceremony secondhand. “[My parents] have an amazing restaurant in North Carolina and I think, like, a couple of their staff walked up and were, like, ‘Congratulations! I saw.’ And then they had to find out,” he said, teasing that he was “doing a lot of apologizing” in the aftermath. The Jonas family aren’t the only ones who’ve been late to the party. Some celebs have made their big announcements solely via social media, leaving fans and followers shocked by the reveal. “Mrs. Carol Denise Betts,” Nash wrote via Instagram in August 2020 alongside a photo from her wedding to singer Jessica Bettes. In a separate post on her Instagram Story, the Claws star joked, “#PlotTwist.” Niecy was previously married to Don Nash from 1994 to 2007 and to Jay Tucker from 2011 to 2019. In February 2020, the When They See Us star tearfully discussed the end of her second marriage, admitting that she and Tucker were “better friends than life partners.” “The one that made me laugh the most was an ode to him being attractive. Ready for Gold! See How Team USA Winter Olympians Prepare to Compete Posted: 04 Feb 2022 09:30 AM PST Going for gold! Winter Olympians often look cool under pressure during televised events — and these seasoned professionals know exactly what it takes to dominate the competition on the slopes or the ice. "I try to do pretty much the same sort of warm-up before every event," speed skater Erin Jackson exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of the 2022 Beijing Olympics. "But I don’t know, maybe I’m weird with the superstitions [because] I feel like if I have a ritual that I have to do before every event, if there’s something that, like, throws off my routine, I don’t wanna feel thrown off, you know? So I don’t really have any, like, things that I have to do before." Other athletes have tried-and-true methods for getting in the zone before they compete in their event. "When I’m putting on my skates before the short program or long program, if it’s competition and I’m putting on my skates, I have to be listening to a Beatles song," pairs figure skater Brandon Frazier — who's partnered with Alexa Scimeca Knierim — told Us. "It started, like, four years ago and I always listen to the Beatles now, consistently, when I’m putting my skates on before we go out." Winter Vinecki also has a musical ritual before tackling a freestyle skiing course. "During my warm-up, I have a playlist. Every year, I make a little bit [of a]different one with a new title depending on what I’m focused on that year," Vinecki, 23, explained. “So I just like to listen to that playlist and get in the right mindset during warm-ups, and then in addition to [that], like, some meditation and doing something that I can just do to calm myself down the night before whether that’s reading or talking to my family, whatever it may be … just [to] calm myself down and getting in the right mindset the morning of [a competition]." Some Team USA stars, like Maddie Mastro, watch The Office before an event, while paralympic alpine skier Thomas Walsh eats a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. However, others take a more relaxed pre-game approach. "Heading into 2018, I definitely had a lot of rituals that I swore by and [I] did not skate well," figure skating medalist Nathan Chen told Us. "So I think, you know, having had that experience … my new ritual [is] not [to] do any rituals. So now, I just try to avoid anything." The Utah native, 22, continued: "Every single day is a new day. Every opportunity is a new opportunity. Every competition’s gonna be different. So if I stick to some ritual that I think has some, you know, performance benefit, it likely won’t have much of a benefit." For more on these athletes' superstitions and pre-competition rituals, check out the video above! To learn more about all the Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls, visit TeamUSA.org. Andy Cohen Admits He Blacked Out During NYE Broadcast Posted: 04 Feb 2022 09:21 AM PST ![]() Surprise! Andy Cohen was just as shocked by his New Year’s Eve rant about Mayor Bill de Blasio as the audience watching at home. “[Anderson Cooper and I] got in the car after [the CNN special] and I saw on Twitter the rant I did about de Blasio,” the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host, 53, confessed during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday, February 3. “And I did not recall — though it was about 40 minutes earlier — saying, ‘Sayonara, sucka’ to the outgoing mayor of New York.” He added that he needed the CNN anchor, 54, to confirm what actually happened. “I go,’Oh, my God I said, ‘Sayonara, sucka,'” Cohen recalled with a laugh. “And he said, ‘Yes, you did!'” While he may not have a clear memory of what happened during the special, the Bravo producer noted that he and Cooper “had a blast” on the night. “It is super fun getting drunk on CNN and just raging on a soapbox,” Cohen said. “There were endorphins that I was releasing. I was like, ‘This is good!'” The Superficial author was wrapping up his annual special, Live From Times Square: New Year's Eve with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, when he decided to share his feelings about the former mayor as the new leader, Eric Adams, was being sworn into office. “[I’ve been] watching Mayor de Blasio do his ‘victory lap’ dance after four years of the crappiest job as the mayor of New York,” Cohen began, as his cohost attempted to rein him in. “The only thing that the Democrats and the Republicans can agree on is what a horrible mayor he has been, so sayonara, sucka!” At the time, the Most Talkative author didn’t have any regrets about his rant. “Guys- I had a ball tonight! Happy New Year!” he wrote on Twitter after the show ended. Cohen poked fun at his outburst the next morning, joking that he had been “a bit over served” while hosting the event. While some viewers critiqued his drunken antics, Cohen is not ashamed of having fun while celebrating the holiday. “Listen, I will not be shamed for having fun on New Year's Eve,” the TV personality said during a January 2022 appearance on The Howard Stern Show. “That's why I'm there. That's why they bring me there.” He continued: “It's a four and a half hour show. … Everyone's focusing on kind of the last 45 minutes or hour we were on the air. [The booze] kicked into high gear with 45 minutes left. We'd done 15 interviews before that point. And I won't be shamed for it.” He added that his job during the broadcast is to “have fun” and that “there will be no apologies” for indulging on air. CNN also defended Cohen following his rant, refuting rumors that he would not be asked back for the 2022 broadcast in a statement at the time. “Andy said something he shouldn't have on live TV. We've addressed it with him and look forward to having him back again next year.” |
Selling Sunset's Chrishell and Jason's Quotes About Their Relationship Posted: 04 Feb 2022 09:08 AM PST From coworkers to lovers — and back to colleagues! Chrishell Stause was Jason Oppenheim's employee before their relationship grew into something more. Fans watched Stause and Oppenheim become friends in the early seasons of Netflix’s Selling Sunset, which debuted in 2019. Two years later, the pair surprised everyone in July 2021 when they confirmed that they were dating. "Chrishell and I became close friends and it has developed into an amazing relationship," Oppenheim told Us Weekly after Stause shared an Instagram photo of the couple packing on the PDA during a trip to Italy. "I care about her deeply and we're very happy together." Shortly after the duo made their relationship public, their coworker Mary Fitzgerald, who was with them on the European getaway, replied to the pic, “Nothing makes me more excited than to see two of my closest friends together and making each other so happy! Follow Selling Sunset star Amanza Smith wrote, "Love you both! So happy it's out!! Ahhhh we can all just be normal now! Happy!!!! Makes me sooooo happy for you both!!” Jason’s twin, Brett Oppenheim, also commented on Stause’s post, noting, "Love you Chrishell. Thank you for making my brother happy." One month later, the Emmy nominee explained why she and her beau initially made an effort not to discuss their relationship outside of their friend group. "You don't want to share with everybody and get all their opinions before you really know what it is," Stause said on E! News' Daily Pop in August 2021. Ahead of the season 4 premiere of Selling Sunset, the former soap opera actress elaborated on how her public outings with Jason pushed her to finally address their relationship status. “I didn’t want people to think it was a mistake or they’d 'caught us’ doing something,” she told Cosmopolitan UK in November 2021. “I wanted to be able to hold my boyfriend’s hand at dinner.” During the same interview, Fitzgerald recalled learning about her ex-boyfriend’s romantic connection with her best friend, telling the outlet, “We were out together and I noticed the way he was looking at her was different, so when she went to the bathroom I confronted him. When she came back Jason said, 'Sorry Chrishell, Mary knows.'” That same month, Jason admitted that he wasn’t thinking about Stause romantically when their friendship began. “Even [after we got together], I don’t think we were … taking it very seriously then either. So, it was definitely an interesting process,” he exclusively told Us, noting how supportive the rest of their friend group was after they made their relationship official. “I mean, as we knew they would be. We share such close mutual friends, which is also great in many ways as well. 'Cause when we’re hanging out with our friends, we’re both hanging out with our friends.” The Kentucky native, for her part, gushed about how easy it was to have conversations with Jason about their future. "I think that that's why it works so well and our communication is very open and honest. There's no conversation that we haven't had at this point,” she told Today in November 2021, adding that they already had a "very open" discussion about having children. "I don't know what we're gonna do, but you know, it's just one of those things that I'm very open with where I'm at in life and I think that's the key." In December 2021, a source confirmed to Us that the pair had called it quits. We made it to a point where we’re really happy to share it because we knew exactly what it was, so it’s all good.” Gregory Pace/Shutterstock ![]() The real estate broker got honest about the "added pressures" that come with dating in the spotlight. "I think it's nice to kind of start a relationship in the way that normal relationships kind of grow and progress. And that's just between two people," Jason shared with Us in November 2021, noting that he followed his girlfriend's lead on addressing their romance publicly. "I think that we were both more comfortable with that approach, and I liked that," he added. "I respected her decision making on that. I think that that's the right approach for anyone." Jennifer Graylock/INSTAR ![]() “I'm the happiest I've ever been. But nobody's more surprised than both of us. I mean, we did not see this coming," the Under Construction author revealed to Today in November 2021, adding that spending time with Jason during the COVID-19 pandemic pushed their relationship into a new light. “So you have your small group of people that you end up, you know, hanging out with and, you know, it just kind of happened where I think what started as something that was a little, you know, just going to be really light and ... nothing [serious], it just really took a turn,” she continued. “And it really kind of surprised both of us [with] what we kind of saw for the future and I think it was obviously a pleasant surprise.” MEGA ![]() The Oppenheim Group founder explained how his dynamic with Stause only got better once they started dating. "I think we're pretty open and pretty honest about our relationship and where we are and the things that we're talking about," he told Us in November 2021, hinting that their romance would play out on season 5 of Selling Sunset. "When we're together on camera and off camera, it's easy for us to just be open and honest, because I think there's a lot of trust there." Courtesy of Chrishell Stause/Instagram ![]() Although Jason and Stause shared a connection before they started dating, he noted that there "was definitely a transition" that they went through. "We had been so open about what we were looking for with each other because we had become close friends. She knew my dating life, and we would almost joke about our each other's dating lives and what we were looking for and things like that," he told Us. "I love her." Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Stause told E! News in December 2021 that when she first joined the Oppenheim Group she came in with a “fake it till you make it” mentality. It wasn’t until she built up a real confidence in herself that she was able to go from coworkers to more with Oppenheim. Luckily, he’s always been her biggest cheerleader. "With Jason, I just feel like the work/relationship dynamic, it's not as complicated as people would think because we were best friends before and we work together all the time,” she said. “It just kind of felt easy." AFF-USA/Shutterstock ![]() In her February 2022 memoir, Under Construction, Stause opened up about the duo's "curveball" romance, explaining that she had "developed a huge amount of respect" for her boss through the years. "Jason was there for every breakup I had, and every bad day, and we became close through all those conversations. He became my best friend," she wrote, adding that "there was nothing romantic" between them for a long time and that "the thought of us being together didn't cross our minds." One night, the duo shared a kiss — and everything changed. "What could have ended up with us laughing and saying, 'What were we thinking?' instead kicked off my first relationship where I've felt like I can be 100 percent myself," she recalled. "At this point, I don't know what the future holds for either of us, and by the time you read this I guess we'll find out. One thing I am sure of is that we will always have an enormous amount of love, respect and friendship between us." John Salangsang/Shutterstock; Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock |
