Meghan King Says She's 'Done' With Marriage After Cuffe Owens Split Posted: 02 Feb 2022 04:00 PM PST ![]() Water under the bridge. Meghan King has had a rough couple of months since her split from Cuffe Owens, but she’s ready to put the past behind her. “I’m doing great. I’ve been through a lot recently, but it all just feels like a quick memory,” the Real Housewives of Orange County alum, 37, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting her new YouTube series. “I’m in a really happy place. I think I’ve been through enough trauma that once I do experience something bad, I have a pattern of not dwelling on it.” Late last year, the Missouri native confirmed that she and President Joe Biden‘s nephew called it quits after two months of marriage. The duo tied the knot in October 2021 after three weeks of dating. "I am rattled. This situation is profoundly devastating," the reality star wrote in a December 2021 Instagram post announcing the breakup. "This is obviously not what I imagined when I made my vows — and I'm shocked and saddened by the way things turned out. I am moving forward with my children as we privately process our pain and begin to let go of shattered dreams." King shares daughter Aspen, 5, and twin sons Hart and Hayes, 3, with ex-husband Jim Edmonds. The Bravo personality and the former baseball player, 51, separated in October 2019 after five years of marriage. King was also previously wed to Brad McDill from 2007 to 2011. Though the University of Mississippi alum is “doing really well” after her split from Owens, she’s not interested in walking down the aisle again. Asked whether she still believes in marriage, King replied, “No. Nope, done.” ![]() The former software salesperson has another project in mind at the moment anyway: her new YouTube series, in which she watches and critiques old episodes of RHOC. “It’s been a lot of fun going back and rewatching these episodes that I haven’t seen except for when I was on them back years ago,” she told Us. “Now I’m able to watch them with new perspective, and I’ve had a lot of life under my belt. I’ve gotten divorced, I’ve had three children.” The Resale Royalty alum said she was inspired to start the series because friends kept asking her to revisit her time with the Housewives. “It’s been really almost, like, therapeutic for me in a way and definitely eye-opening to see what other viewers saw,” she added. “I was too in it at the time to be able to give perspective.” With reporting by Diana Cooper |
Gwyneth Paltrow, Dakota Johnson, Chris Martin’s Dynamic: Everything We Know Posted: 02 Feb 2022 03:42 PM PST The results of a successful uncoupling! Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin remained friends after their divorce, and since then, his girlfriend, Dakota Johnson, has been welcomed into the family. The Oscar winner and the Coldplay frontman tied the knot in December 2003. During their marriage, they welcomed daughter Apple and son Moses in May 2004 and April 2006, respectively. However, the pair announced their split in March 2014, noting that they still loved each other "very much." "We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been," a statement released at the time read. "We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children, and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner." Paltrow subsequently filed for divorce in April 2015, and the proceedings were finalized in July 2016. The exes remained close, though, for the sake of their kids. "I think we've managed to really stay a family," the Iron Man star told ES Magazine in January 2019. "Chris is a very close friend. I see him every day, I talk to him every day." After their separation, Paltrow moved on with Brad Falchuk. Us Weekly revealed in August 2014 that the couple were dating after meeting on the set of Glee. They announced their engagement in January 2018 and got married that September. Us confirmed in December 2017 that the Grammy winner was dating Johnson. The Fifty Shades of Grey actress soon bonded with Paltrow. "Gwyneth loves Dakota and vice versa. She really likes her and who she is as a person," a source told Us in October 2019, noting Paltrow's stance that anyone who enriched Martin's life would do the same for her children. "She cares deeply for him and wants him to be happy." The insider revealed that the singer and Falchuk were also on good terms. "Brad and Chris have a lot of respect for each other and they always get their creative juices flowing when they hang out," the source said. "They get something from being together — they're both very cool guys." Scroll through the gallery below for everything we know about Paltrow's friendly relationship with Johnson and Martin: ![]() Shortly after news broke of Martin and Johnson’s romance, an insider told Us that Paltrow did not “really know” the Social Network star but they had “some mutual friends.” Despite their unfamiliarity at the time, the Shakespeare in Love actress was “happy if Chris is happy. She only wants the best for him.” The source added: “[Gwyneth] trusts his judgment and knows he’s smart about his decisions and who he spends time with. She leaves it at that. She doesn’t scrutinize his choices or who he dates.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() In 2019, Johnson and Martin reconciled following a brief split. An insider told Us that August that Paltrow was “the one who pushed them” to give their romance another shot. Shutterstock (3) ![]() Paltrow, Falchuk, Martin and Johnson were seen hanging out at the beach in the Hamptons in August 2019. “The adults are all very friendly,” a source shared that October. “It’s not without effort and having to put feelings aside from time to time. They genuinely enjoy being together and there’s a lot of love for one another on all sides.” Shutterstock (4) ![]() The Goop founder detailed her relationship with Johnson in January 2020. “I love her,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “I can see how it would seem weird because it’s sort of unconventional. But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her. I always start to think of the ampersand sign — what else can you bring in, instead of being resistant to or being made insecure by? There’s so much juice in leaning in to something like that.” A fan later asked Paltrow during a January 2022 Instagram Story Q&A, “Do you love Dakota Johnson?” to which she replied, “Very much.” Shutterstock (2) |
Sara Evans, Estranged Husband Jay Barker Separated 9 Months Before Arrest Posted: 02 Feb 2022 03:15 PM PST It seems things between Sara Evans and Harry "Jay" Barker are starting to get ugly. The country singer married the former football player in 2008, one year after she finalized her divorce from Craig Schelske. Evans and Schelske's relationship made headlines in 2006 when she abruptly left Dancing With the Stars as her marriage crumbled amid allegations of cheating from both Evans and Schelske. The former couple, who wed in 1993, share three kids. While navigating her divorce, the "A Little Bit Stronger" singer was introduced to Barker, who was going through a split of his own, by her marital counselor. “He told us he’d never known two people more alike,” Evans told Birmingham magazine in 2015. “He felt we could at least be supportive friends.” The pair connected via emails and text before hopping on the phone. "We would get together with our kids as ‘just friends,'" the University of Alabama alum added. "Before long, they told us we should be dating.” Barker shares four kids with his ex-wife, Amy DiGiovanna. "She's my biggest fan and I'm hers," Barker gushed about Evans at the time. "As great as she is at music, she's even better at being a mom and wife." The duo moved their brood to Alabama after exchanging vows. "We are truly a family. We don't think of it as 'blended'; they are just our kids," Barker told People in 2011. "But we also understand our roles. If I'm around when Sara's kids' father is around, I give him his place as their dad." Evans added, "The kids really love each other. It just works. We're so fortunate." After nearly 14 years of marriage, the twosome made headlines when Barker was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The booking stemmed from an alleged January 2022 incident in Nashville after he allegedly tried to hit Evans with his vehicle. While the arrest drew attention to Evans' August 2021 divorce petition, there were signs of trouble in the pair's marriage. Chris Pizzello/AP/Shutterstock ![]() "I've always liked Alabama," Evans recalled to Birmingham magazine in 2015 of relocating from Tennessee. "When I lived in Nashville and went to the beach, I loved driving through Alabama. Where we live feels like a small town. People are so friendly here. I have four or five girlfriends who are really close. Our kids all play sports, our families get together and have fun. People think I'm always touring but I'm usually here. They were reportedly living apart, with Evans noting in the filing that her estranged husband had been living in Alabama for "approximately three months" after the split. Chris Pizzello/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Evans filed for divorce on August 24, 2021, citing irreconcilable differences, Us later confirmed. The singer's complaint also cited "inappropriate marital conduct" on the part of Barker and stated that they had signed an antenuptual agreement after their wedding which will determine the distribution of the couple's assets. Scott Kirkland/Shutterstock ![]() According to the affidavit from the alleged January 15 domestic violence incident, Evans was in the passenger seat of her friend’s car when she allegedly saw Barker “backing up his vehicle at a high rate of speed attempting to hit them but missed.” Following a 12-hold, Barker was released on a $10,000 bond. He subsequently shared a statement via his radio show’s Instagram page. “I am humbled beyond words by the support I have received from friends, supporters and so many in the Alabama family,” he wrote. “To all of you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We all confront challenges in life and my family, and I are facing one now. Unfortunately, headlines and quick-to-publish news stories do not adequately capture the full context and complex fabric of our lives. I love my family dearly and at this difficult time, I respectfully ask for privacy for the sake of my family and especially our kids. In gratitude, Jay Barker. RHOC's Elizabeth Lyn Vargas Is 'Shaken Up' After Ex Held Her Captive Posted: 02 Feb 2022 02:29 PM PST ![]() A harrowing situation. Elizabeth Lyn Vargas is recovering after her ex-boyfriend barricaded himself in her home, Us Weekly can confirm. The Real Housewives of Orange County alum, 46, called the police on Tuesday, February 1, after an ongoing disagreement with an unnamed ex. According to the Newport Beach Police Department, the man barricaded himself inside Vargas’ home and was subsequently arrested. "She's shaken up and had an extremely traumatic experience," David Weintraub, Vargas’ manager, told Us in a statement on Wednesday, February 2. "Fortunately, the Newport Police Department saved her and she's doing well." The former Bravo starred appeared in season 15 of RHOC, which aired from October 2020 to January 2021. She was previously married to Bernt Bodal, whom she wed in 2000. The duo called it quits in 2017, but their divorce wasn’t finalized until July 2020. "You know, I don't know how I'm feeling today. I'm excited but I'm sad and I — it's the end of an era — I was with the guy for 20 years. 17 years but divorcing for three," she wrote via Instagram at the time. "20 years total of my life and I'm happy but it's a failure. … I paid an arm and a leg to get divorced and to get what I thought I needed … and here we are transitioning to a new phase in my life and I'm excited." When the Missouri native was on RHOC, she dated a man named Jimmy Juarez, but the former couple split sometime after the season aired. “I guess I'm going through a big transition,” Vargas said in a video posted via Instagram in June 2021. “I lost my job, lost my boyfriend, lost my dog — it sounds like a bad country song.” After her exit from RHOC was announced last year, the Vargas Vodka founder thanked fans for their messages throughout her brief tenure on the series. “I can never ever thank you enough for the outpouring of love, support and the kindness you have shown to me,” she wrote via Instagram in June 2021. “COVID 2020 was a very unfortunate and tough year for all of us during filming but we made it happen and I'm very proud of what we accomplished as a team.” Vargas left the show alongside Braunwyn Windham-Burke and Kelly Dodd when Bravo decided not to renew their contracts. Shortly after their exits made headlines, Dodd, 46, claimed she had no idea that she wouldn’t be asked back. “I had no idea,” she said during a June 2021 appearance on SiriusXM's Jeff Lewis Live. “I was blindsided.” |
Miss USA Cheslie Kryst’s Mom Speaks Out After Cause of Death Is Confirmed Posted: 02 Feb 2022 02:24 PM PST Gone but not forgotten. Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst's mother, April Simpkins, spoke out shortly after her daughter’s cause of death was confirmed. “I have never known a pain as deep as this. I am forever changed. Today, what our family and friends privately knew was the cause of death of my sweet baby girl, Cheslie, was officially confirmed,” Simpkins said in a statement via social media on Wednesday, February 2. “While it may be hard to believe, it's true. Cheslie led both a public and a private life. In her private life, she was dealing with high-functioning depression which she hid from everyone — including me, her closest confidant — until very shortly before her death.” The 30-year-old former pageant queen's death was ruled a suicide by the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner on Monday, January 31, after conducting a full autopsy, according to multiple reports. “Cheslie – to the world, you were a ball of sunshine wrapped in smiles. We talked, FaceTimed or texted one another all day, every day. You were more than a daughter — you were my very best friend. Talking with you was one of the best parts of my day. Your smile and laugh were infectious,” Simpkins added on Wednesday. “I love you baby girl with all my heart. I miss you desperately. I know one day we'll be together again. Until then, rest easy and in peace.” Kryst was found dead in New York City on Sunday, January 30. According to police who arrived on scene, the Extra correspondent had seemingly jumped from her apartment building. The Michigan native's family confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement to CNN on Sunday, saying, "In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie." Her loved ones noted: "Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined." Kryst rose to fame after being crowned Miss North Carolina USA in 2019. She went on to represent the state at the Miss USA competition that year, which she won. The Daytime Emmy nominee later placed in the top 10 at the 2019 Miss Universe pageant. It was the first year that all four major title holders — Kyrst as Miss USA, Nia Imani Franklin as Miss America, Kaliegh Garris as Miss Teen USA and Zozibini Tunzi as Miss Universe — were Black women. Outside of her pageant career, Kryst was a broadcaster and an attorney. She earned a law degree from Wake Forest University and founded the fashion blog White Collar Glam amid her fight to reform the justice system. ![]() The TV personality’s sudden death shook the Miss USA community and left a whole in the hearts of her friends and family. “You were always so kind and full of light. The ultimate role model with so much to offer the world. Rest in peace sweet Cheslie,” Olivia Culpo, who was crowned Miss USA in 2012, commented on Kryst’s final Instagram post on Sunday. Bachelor Nation's Caelynn Miller-Keyes — another former Miss North Carolina — shared a message of love via social media, writing, “This is heartbreaking. Cheslie was an incredible human. I was always in awe of her. She was smart, kind, humble and so much more.” The Miss Universe pageant released a statement at the time via Twitter, noting how "devastated" the organization was to learn about the loss of Kryst. "She was one of the brightest, warmest, and most kind people we have ever had the privilege of knowing," the message read. "Our entire community mourns her loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with her family right now." Kryst's mother asked on Wednesday that in lieu of flowers “please make a donation to Dress for Success, an organization that was dear to her heart.” If you or someone you know is in emotional distress or considering suicide, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). |
J. Lo Reacts to Theories She Recreated 'Jenny From the Block' Video With Ben Posted: 02 Feb 2022 01:36 PM PST The word "Bennifer" might include flashbacks to frosted lip gloss and butterfly clips, but everything comes back in style eventually. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are spending time together, nearly 20 years after their romance took the world by storm. Affleck has reportedly been getting picked up in a white SUV that takes him to Lopez's Los Angeles home. It's easy to understand why they'd keep their hangouts on the down-low when remembering their high-profile romance. The pair first connected in 2002 on the set of the ill-fated Gigli. The two played gangsters who fall in love while attempting to kidnap a neurodivergent man. The movie flopped at the box office and among critics, who claimed Affleck and Lopez didn't have much chemistry. It was a different story off-screen. Lopez filed for divorce from second husband Cris Judd in June 2002, and she went public with the Good Will Hunting star after. The "Waiting for Tonight" singer had another rock on her finger by November. Affleck proposed with a 6-carat pink diamond that had smaller white diamonds on the sides. The ring caught plenty of media attention as did J. Lo's "Jenny From the Block" music video. Paparazzi caught Bennifer filming in various cities throughout the fall before the clip was finally released in November. It included plenty of scenes of the couple showing their affection for each other. The duo even welcomed Dateline's Pat O'Brien into their Vancouver rental home to discuss their relationship, but they wouldn't say exactly when they fell in love. "You can't pinpoint it," Lopez said. "We became friends first. That is the honest to God truth." Their wedding was set for September 2003, and Lopez said she'd change her name to Jennifer Affleck after the wedding. However, they never made it to the altar, canceling just days before the ceremony due to "excessive media attention." They announced their official breakup in January 2004. Lopez would marry Marc Anthony in June 2004 while Affleck moved on with Jennifer Garner that year as well. Though it didn't work out, Affleck and Lopez have only been kind to each other in the press. "We just happened to be together at the birth of the tabloids, and it was like ‘Oh, my God.’ It was just a lot of pressure," she told PeopleTV's The Jess Cagle Interview in 2016. She continued, "I think different time, different thing, who knows what could’ve happened, but there was a genuine love there." Affleck, meanwhile, praised her in InStyle in April 2021 as "the hardest-working person I’ve come across in this business. She has great talent, but she has also worked very hard for her success, and I’m so happy for her that she seems, at long last, to be getting the credit she deserves." ![]() The two met on the set of Gigli, which sank at the box office while their relationship sizzled. "The song is out, five years since we’ve done it,” she said on the Today show appearance. “And I believe that that message of loving one another and coming together and love, is never more relevant than it is right now.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() The couple made their subtle debut on Instagram in a video posted by Leah Remini. Crystal Hefner and More React to 'Secrets of Playboy' Allegations Posted: 02 Feb 2022 01:00 PM PST Mixed reactions. Since the premiere of Secrets of Playboy, Hugh Hefner‘s family and friends have weighed in with their thoughts about the A&E docuseries. Some of the late Playboy founder’s associates have slammed the series as “ridiculous,” while others have corroborated the participants’ claims. Crystal Hefner, who was married to the media mogul from 2012 until his death in September 2017, confirmed one of the stories Holly Madison told in the Monday, January 24, series premiere. The Vegas Diaries author, 42, claimed that Hugh would use a disposable camera to take photos of “intoxicated” women who visited the Playboy Mansion. The Holly’s World alum lived in the mansion from 2001 to 2008 while she was dating the Chicago native. “So, if you were messed up and if you were in his bathtub with your top off and some other girl is doing some sexually explicit pose on you, and he took a picture of that on his disposable camera, he’d make a copy and give it to everyone that night and put it in a scrapbook,” Madison recalled. After Secrets of Playboy premiered, Crystal, 35, tweeted that she later found “thousands” of the photos the Girls Next Door alum described. “I immediately ripped them up and destroyed every single one of them for you and the countless other women in them,” she tweeted on Monday. “They’re gone.” Crystal hasn’t always been so publicly supportive of her husband’s ex-girlfriends. Last year, she said that some of the women who’ve spoken out against Hugh would never have become famous if it weren’t for him. "I think everyone's entitled to their opinions. I think for some it was a lot harder than for others," she said during a September 2021 appearance on E!'s Daily Pop. "For some of them, you know, being there is what got them attention. So, to keep talking about it and talking about it keeps the attention on themselves. A lot of the women speaking out negatively wouldn't be where they were if it wasn't for Hef." Earlier that year, however, she acknowledged that Madison “went through some very hard things” while she lived at the mansion. He was generous in nature and cared deeply for people. These salacious stories are a case study of regret becoming revenge.” James Shaw/Shutterstock ![]() Ahead of the premiere, Brande Roderick described Hugh as a "wonderful person" during an interview with Ashleigh Banfield. “How about the girls there preying on these rich men? I mean, come on, that’s ridiculous," the former Playmate, 47, said on Friday, January 21. "They were all there at their free will: No one was holding a gun to their head.” The California native also voiced her disapproval of associates and models who only started speaking out after Hugh's death. "The fact that some women are coming out because maybe they have a book coming out, maybe they want 15 more minutes of fame, maybe they’re out of it, whatever, and to do it now, after he’s dead, when he cannot defend himself, to me is disgusting," she said, adding that the magazine founder was "very much against drugs." The letter also noted that the company supports the women who have come forward with allegations about their time working with Playboy. "We trust and validate women and their stories, and we strongly support the individuals who have come forward to share their experiences," the letter read. "As a brand with sex positivity at its core, we believe safety, security and accountability are paramount, and anything less is inexcusable." During the Secrets of Playboy premiere, the photographer alleged that Hugh had "home videos" of the Manson Family. Sondra Theodore, who dated the former editor-in-chief from 1976 to 1981, also compared life at the mansion to the infamous cult, saying, "There were so many similarities with the way the girls followed everything he said, and we were all one big happy family." Crystal slammed the claims in a tweet posted after the episode aired. "Saying he has interest is definitely a lie," she wrote on Monday. Animal Lover! Meet Kaley Cuoco's Furry Family of Many Pets Posted: 02 Feb 2022 12:50 PM PST Animal lover! Throughout the years, Kaley Cuoco has been a dutiful dog and horse mom to her ever-growing menagerie of pets. "I'm not allowed to say how many I have, because I am afraid they will come knocking, saying that it's an illegal amount," the Big Bang Theory alum previously joked to Variety in February 2021. Cuoco — who has a stable of equine and canine companions — initially bonded with her now-estranged husband Karl Cook over their affinity for animals. (The Flight Attendant star filed for divorce in September 2021 after three years of marriage.) "Must love dogs is No. 1," Cuoco previously told Us Weekly in 2016 of her dating requirements, noting that the equestrian, whom she met at a horse show that year, "checked that off quite quickly." Upon their 2018 nuptials, the former couple blended their animal brood, including Cook's bulldog Tank, Cuoco's horse Shmooshy and her dogs Ruby, Shirley and Norman. The latter, who was her faithful companion for nearly 14 years, died in January 2021. "Norman, can't believe you have been gone a year. I'll truly miss you forever After Norman's death, Cuoco and Cook adopted a new dog together. "When you know you know! Welcome to the family, Larry! He's a 9-year-old ginormous mastiff chunk mutt of love and we are obsessed," she captioned a July 2021 Instagram gallery. "Thank you @pawsforlifek9 & @rita_earl_blackwell for the perfect addition to our lives. #seniorsunday #adoptdontshop #rescuedog Cuoco, who frequently shares social media snaps with her pups, is equally enamored with her larger animal companions. “I never thought I would be so obsessed with our #bigbaycity baby horse Scroll down below to see Cuoco's pets' photo album: ![]() The Meet Cute star’s Chihuahua, named Dumps, often accompanies her on the set of the HBO Max series. Hundreds of Former Playboy Associates Sign Letter Supporting Hugh Hefner Posted: 02 Feb 2022 12:42 PM PST ![]() Speaking out. Hundreds of former Playboy employees, models and Playmates have signed a letter in support of the late Hugh Hefner in the wake of A&E’s docuseries Secrets of Playboy. “We sign our names to support Hugh M. Hefner. From all we know of Hef, he was a person of upstanding character, exceptional kindness and dedication to free thought,” read the missive, obtained by Us Weekly on Wednesday, February 2. “He demonstrated a commitment to living an honest life beyond everything else. Our time within Hugh Hefner’s Playboy and the organization’s subsidiaries remains a period all of us are fond of.” The signatories concluded the letter by calling the allegations detailed in Secrets of Playboy “unfounded.” Several of the participants, including some of Hefner’s exes, attached their own personal statements to the letter. “All people should be encouraged to share their individual experience in this world, but no one should be emboldened to rewrite the truth at the expense of another person’s character,” said Kimberley Conrad, who was married to Hefner from 1989 to 2010. (The Playboy founder died in September 2017 at age 91.) ![]() “What the allegers who speak out now seem to ignore is that there were many of us throughout the years who were there with them as well,” Conrad, 59, continued. “I’m saddened, mostly, that these accounts take light away from true victims of sexual abuse, and hope that in time those selling lies to defame Hef find peace within their own lives.” The 10-part docuseries premiered last month and includes interviews with former Playboy employees and Hefner associates. During the Monday, January 31, episode, several participants claimed that multiple women were assaulted by members of Playboy clubs, a now-defunct chain of nightclubs founded by the brand in 1960. ![]() “There were girls that were silenced after being raped in parking lots outside the clubs,” alleged PJ Masten, who worked in the clubs from 1972 to 1982. “In the 10 years that I worked for Playboy, I would venture to say that there were probably 40 to 50 young women that were silenced by Playboy because of abuse, sexual abuse.” Multiple people interviewed for the show also alleged that Playboy attempted to silence them when they tried to speak out about their time working for the company. During the January 24 series premiere, former Playmate Miki Garcia claimed that Hefner himself sent someone to pay her off when she was working on a book. She eventually became so afraid of retaliation that she hired a bodyguard. Shortly before the series debuted, Playboy issued a statement denouncing the brand’s founder. “The Hefner family is no longer associated with Playboy, and today's Playboy is not Hugh Hefner's Playboy,” the statement read. “We will continue to confront any parts of our legacy that do not reflect our values today, and to build upon the progress we have made as we evolve as a company so we can drive positive change for you and our communities.” Secrets of Playboy airs on A&E Mondays at 9 p.m. ET. |
Adele and Rich Paul’s Relationship Timeline Posted: 02 Feb 2022 11:53 AM PST Someone like him! Adele is the queen of emotional breakup songs, but in her real life, she’s been more successful at finding love. The Grammy winner was first spotted with her boyfriend, Rich Paul, in July 2021 attending Game 5 of the NBA Finals. Though that was their first time in public, a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time that the duo had been dating “for months” before the game. “He's very shy and keeps a low profile when they go out, whereas Adele is super sociable," the insider added, noting that the pair managed to stay under the radar by mingling with the same inner circle. "The people they hang out with know them both personally already, so they don't have to introduce each other, which is probably why nobody picked up on their relationship sooner.” Two months later, the couple made things Instagram official when the “Easy on Me” songstress shared a photo of the duo dressed up to attend NBA star Anthony Davis‘ wedding to Marlen P. (Paul, a sports agent, represents Davis as well as his Los Angeles Lakers teammate LeBron James.) “They're very committed at this point and it's hard to imagine they won't be together for an extremely long time,” a source told Us of Adele and her beau in October 2021, adding that the twosome “complement each other” very well. “She really feels like she hit the jackpot." The Oscar winner was previously married to Simon Konecki, with whom she welcomed son Angelo in October 2012. The former couple called it quits in April 2019 after seven years together and finalized their divorce in early 2021. "I was just going through the motions and I wasn't happy," she told Vogue of her marriage in October 2021. "Neither of us did anything wrong. Neither of us hurt each other or anything like that. It was just: I want my son to see me really love, and be loved. It's really important to me." In the same interview, the “Rolling in the Deep” singer revealed that she’d actually met Paul years before their romance began. “He was always there, I just didn't see him,” she explained, adding that they reconnected at a party a “couple” of years earlier. "He was dancing. All the other guys were just sitting around. He was just dancing away." That infectious charm is one of the things that captivated Adele from the start. “He's always making her feel special and doesn't have a single drop of selfishness or meanness in his body,” an insider told Us in October 2021. I know what I want. And I really know what I don’t want.” She added that she didn't mean to go public with their romance at the NBA game — she just wanted to spend some time with her boyfriend. "I just love being around him. I just love it," she said. “He was like, 'What are people going to say?' And I was like, 'That you signed me. As an athlete. You’re my agent.' Channing Tatum Gave 'Perfectionist' Zoe Kravitz Advice Before Directing Debut Posted: 02 Feb 2022 11:13 AM PST Sparks flying on set! Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz are the latest celebrity couple to taking their working relationship to the next level. The actor previously found love with his Step Up costar Jenna Dewan while filming the 2006 movie. The twosome subsequently wed in 2009 and welcomed daughter Everly in 2013. Five years later, fans were surprised to learn the pair were going their separate ways, with the former couple finalizing their divorce in 2019. "We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now," the actors said in a statement at the time. "There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best friends realizing it's time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving, dedicated parents to Everly." While Tatum went on to date Jessie J on and off from October 2018 to April 2020, Dewan started seeing Steve Kazee and welcomed son Calum with her fiancé in 2020. Kravitz, for her part, married Karl Glusman in May 2019 after three years of dating. The High Fidelity alum and the Greyhound actor called it quits after less than two years of marriage in December 2020. Us Weekly confirmed in August 2021 that their divorce was finalized — the same month she was spotted getting cozy with Tatum. Earlier that summer, the X-Men: First Class actress opened up about Tatum being her first choice to star in her directorial debut, Pussy Island. "[He was the one] I thought of when I wrote this character," she told Deadline in June 2021. "I just knew from Magic Mike and his live shows, I got the sense he's a true feminist and I wanted to collaborate with someone who was clearly interested in exploring this subject matter." Tatum added at the time, "When Zoë called me about this, I was shocked. … I'd watched her in movies, knew she produced High Fidelity and had seen that, but I didn't know she was creating on a level like this, where she wanted to direct. This came out of nowhere and the subject matter made me say, 'Wait, why are you thinking about me for this?' No one gives me a chance to play a role like this, everybody throws me down a different alley and expects me to do a certain thing. It was scary and liberating, just to be able to have a free conversation, where I was allowed to mess up, and say the wrong things." A source told Us in August 2021 that "things turned romantic fast" between the pair after "working together so closely." Simon Cowell Is ‘Feeling Much Better’ After Bike Accident Posted: 02 Feb 2022 11:06 AM PST ![]() UPDATE 2/2 On the mend. One day after Simon Cowell‘s recent bike accident made headlines, he is opening up about his recovery. “I’m OK,” Cowell told the Daily Mail on Wednesday, February 2. "I’m feeling much better, thank you. … I'm a bit of a nutter. I’ll definitely wear a helmet next time." Original story below: Simon Cowell was hospitalized after being involved in a second electric bike accident, Us Weekly can confirm. The former American Idol judge, 62, had an accident near his home in West London on Thursday, January 27. "Simon is lucky to be alive," a source tells Us. "He was pedaling along, with his electric motor on, when the wheels suddenly went from under him after hitting a wet patch. He slipped and went flying over the handlebars into the middle of the road." Cowell was not wearing a helmet. "He's got a broken arm," the insider says, noting that he was released from the hospital the night of the accident after getting a cast. "Despite this being his second great escape, Simon insists he's not ditching the bike — but he will start wearing a helmet." Cowell is expected to make a full recovery. The America's Got Talent judge was previously hospitalized in August 2020 after falling while testing an electric bike at his Malibu home. "Simon has broken his back and will be having surgery this evening," his spokesperson told Us at the time. Cowell had a metal rod placed in his back because of his injuries. "Some good advice … If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time," he tweeted shortly after his first accident. The reality star was thankful at the time that his injuries were not more extensive. "The surgery he had needs to heal right, so he's taking care to make sure that happens properly and will make a total recovery on it," a source told Us in August 2020. "As bad as the accident was, he's incredibly grateful because he knows it could have been much worse." An insider revealed in October 2020 that Cowell had "been up and walking since day two" of being home from the hospital, while a separate source noted that he was "doing 10,000 steps a day and swimming regularly" amid his recovery. The England native's latest accident comes weeks after Us confirmed his engagement to Lauren Silverman. The couple, who share 7-year-old son Eric, kept the news under wraps for a bit, as he proposed on Christmas Eve in December 2021. Cowell praised Silverman, 44, in February 2021 for helping him recover from his back injury. "She was amazing," he told Extra. "Both her and Eric, they were, like, my support. I couldn't have gotten through it without them, so we got closer." |
Erika Jayne Ordered to Surrender $750,000 Earrings Amid Tom’s Legal Woes Posted: 02 Feb 2022 11:03 AM PST UPDATE: February 2, 2:00 p.m. ET — Erika was ordered to turn over the earrings to the trustee for safekeeping and preservation in a safe deposit box at a bank, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly. She was given five days to deliver the jewelry, after which it will be appraised. “The stipulation confirms what Erika all along has said she would do: namely, allow the earrings to be held in trust with a full reservation of rights between Erika and the Girardi Keese (‘GK’) bankruptcy trustee, pending a final court decision and order,” Erika’s attorney, Evan C. Borges, said in statement on Wednesday, February 2. “Erika has cooperated fully at all times, including a year ago when she disclosed and showed the earrings to a jeweler representative of the trustee in the Tom Girardi (‘TG’) bankruptcy. The next step will be formal discovery into the actions of TG and GK 15 years ago when they bought the earrings. Erika had nothing to do with and no knowledge of these actions of TG and GK, but she is being blamed for them. All Erika did was receive a gift of earrings from her then-wealthy husband 15 years ago. By law, the GK Trustee stands in the shoes of GK, and it's undisputed that GK knew about the earrings purchase in 2007. Now, 15 years later, the statute of limitations bars any alleged claim against Erika, who never did anything wrong.” Original story: After her bling. Erika Jayne may be forced to surrender a pair of earrings that cost $750,000 amid allegations that her estranged husband, Tom Girardi, purchased the jewelry with funds that did not belong to him. Tom, 82, allegedly bought the earrings in March 2007 with money from a client trust account and cited the purchase as costs for a case, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly. While he initially claimed that the jewelry was stolen from their home, the earrings were allegedly in a safe. "The evidence filed in court by the trustee shows a clear money trail to the purchase of these earrings," Ronald Richards, former attorney for the trustee overseeing the bankruptcy case involving Tom's former law firm, exclusively told Us in a statement on Wednesday, January 26. "Erika should return them immediately. They were purchased with estate funds. She will not be able to hide behind her attorney in her response. She will have to provide testimony under oath and be subject to a deposition if she persists." However, Erika's lawyer fired back at the allegations on Wednesday. "I am disturbed by everyone jumping to conclusions about Erika, who is innocent, and trying to blame her for the actions of others," Evan C. Borges said in a statement to Us. "If the law matters, the trustee's motion is completely out of bounds. Even based on the incomplete hearsay evidence filed with the motion, the trustee has no claim based on Erika innocently receiving a gift of earrings 15 years ago from her now estranged and then-extraordinarily wealthy husband." The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 50, "has agreed to hold and not transfer or sell the earrings," according to court documents filed by her attorney. Additionally, she plans to give the jewelry to a third party to hold in trust until the trustee's investigation is complete. There will be a hearing on February 15 to discuss the matter. Erika filed for divorce from Tom in November 2020 after 21 years of marriage. The following month, they were accused of embezzling $2 million in settlement funds from the families of Lion Air Flight 610 victims. He also allegedly mishandled money that belonged to several of his clients. The trustee previously sued the "XXPEN$IVE" singer for $25 million in August 2021, claiming that she knew Tom's law firm was covering her expenses for at least 12 years and requesting that the court order her to repay the money she allegedly spent plus interest. Erika's lawyer insisted at the time that she did not have "legal liability" for "actions taken by Girardi Keese." Meanwhile, the reality star addressed the allegations against Tom during the October 2021 RHOBH reunion. "It does not look good. However, we still need to get to the bottom of it. Only one side of the story has been told," she said at the time. "I feel terrible. This is not who I am. And I hope this is not who he is. … I hope that he has not done what is alleged here." Lala Kent Claims Tom Sandoval Didn't 'Acknowledge' Her Split From Randall Posted: 02 Feb 2022 10:58 AM PST ![]() Didn't have her back? Lala Kent called out Vanderpump Rules costar Tom Sandoval for not showing up for her amid her split from Randall Emmett. “That group has been absolutely incredible. I mean, Tom has yet to even acknowledge what I’m going through, Tom Sandoval, but I wouldn’t expect anything less,” Kent, 31, shared during the Wednesday, February 2, episode of her “Give Them Lala” podcast. “I take him for who he is, ask him about his bar. We talk about him a lot.” The Utah native also opened up about feeling distant from Ariana Madix, adding, “I sometimes think she doesn’t know how to approach me — and maybe that’s my fault — but the rest of the group, they’ve been all hands on deck.” After joining the hit Bravo series in 2014, Kent initially chose to keep her love life private. The beauty mogul started dating, 50, Emmett ahead of season 5, going public with their relationship in 2018 once the producer’s divorce from ex-wife Ambyr Childers was finalized. Kent and Emmett went on to make their onscreen debut during season 8 following their 2018 engagement. In October 2021, the Give Them Lala author sparked breakup rumors when she deleted all the photos of the director from her Instagram feed. One month later, Us Weekly confirmed that Kent and Emmett called it quits. The singer, who shares 10-month-old daughter Ocean with the Florida native, addressed her split while filming the reunion special in December 2021. At the time, Kent claimed that her costars didn’t support her amid the major life change. “I didn’t hear from one person on my cast except for Raquel [Leviss] to say, ‘Hope you’re doing OK,'” she said during an episode of her podcast at the time. “That was very telling for me. … I’m not saying that this group of my friends are bad people in any way. Just because I’m going through something doesn’t mean the world stops. … But I was visibly upset on the reunion, and for not one of them except for my little Bambi to reach out and say, ‘I just want to say I’m sorry for what you’re going through,’ was, like I said, eye-opening.” ![]() That same month, Kent questioned why her costars didn’t come to her when they started to hear rumors about Emmett's alleged infidelity. (The filmmaker has not publicly commented on the cheating accusations.) “I wish that somebody would have come to me and said, 'I’m getting DMs about your person.' No one voiced any concern for me and my relationship,” Kent claimed on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast in December 2021. “James [Kennedy] and [Tom] Sandoval both expressed that they knew things. As time passes, I have a lot of people that are telling me things. Everyone wants to say, ‘It’s not your business.’ How would you feel? I would give everything to turn back the clock and have someone tell me something.” The 38-year-old TomTom co-owner, for his part, clarified during the January 25 reunion episode that Kent never “wanted to know these things” when it came to Emmett, saying, “You didn’t seem like you wanted anyone to mention anything even remotely about your personal life.” On Wednesday, however, Kent apologized for saying that her Vanderpump Rules costars weren’t there for her. “My group of friends that are on the show — so they’re my cast members and my friends — have been very supportive, beyond, like, extremely. And I feel badly [that] during that moment, doing that podcast after the reunion, that I fixated on, like, just, like, my emotions were running so high, I should’ve taken a step back,” she shared. “I was very emotional.” The Row actress also noted that she hoped people around her would start “showing their true colors,” adding, “I look forward to burning the bridge with people who do not deserve to be in my presence. I have more friends around me now than I had before all of this happened.” |
Prince William, Duchess Kate’s Taj Mahal Pic Was a ‘Last Minute Decision’ Posted: 02 Feb 2022 10:47 AM PST Opening up the vault. Princess Diana was photographed millions of times, but now some of her most famous pictures are on display. Photographer Anwar Hussein chronicled Diana's journey from 1980 up until her death in 1997 at the age of 37. Today, 140 of his images are featured in Princess Diana Exhibition: Accredited Access, a walk-through experience that is paired with exclusive, never-heard-before stories from Hussein, 83. ![]() On the Wednesday, February 2, episode of "Royally Us," Us Weekly sat down with Hussein's sons, Samir and Zak Hussein, who are also royal photographers, and they explained why, as a family, they wanted to tell the story of Diana's life through pictures. "It's been nearly two years in the making and we, as a family, felt it was kind of the right time to share some of our favorite pictures and stories behind them," Zak explained to Us. "It’s the first time all of our pictures have been displayed side-by-side." The exhibition shows tender moments between Diana and her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, along with iconic modern photographs such as Duchess Kate and William, 39, at the Taj Mahal in 2016. The photograph mirrored the late Princess of Wales' solo shot in front of the famous Indian monument in 1992. "The photo of William and Kate, we didn’t actually know if they were gonna do it or not. We were told that they might do it, but, you know, it was ultimately up to them," Zak explained to Us. "They weren’t asked to do it by anyone and it was a case of them making a decision at the the last minute, whether they were gonna sit on that bench. I was there poised up ready to take the picture, but not knowing if it was gonna happen, but of course they did and it was — it was just a really special moment." He continued, "It’s such a historical picture and in the back of your mind, you’re photographing it thinking, 'Wow, this is a real special moment.' And also, not only that, but knowing that my dad had done, you know, the same picture with William's mother, Diana, as well on the same bench. So it was one of those kind of great moments and it’s just so nice to share that in the exhibition as well." Princess Diana Exhibition: Accredited Access is currently open in Los Angeles and Chicago, with plans to come to New York City. For information and to reserve tickets, visit princessdianaexhibit.com. After Snoop Dogg sent out a social media plea to help him locate his beloved French bulldog, he is relieved that the pooch has been found. "Yo, I wanna thank y'all for returning the dog back to us," the "Gin and Juice" rapper, 50, explained in a Tuesday, February 1, Instagram video. "We appreciate that. Frank made his way back home. We appreciate all the love and support we had on Instagram to get the dog back." The California native offered a sweet reward to the individuals who found the pup and reunited him with his musical owner. "To the lovely couple that brought the dog back: I got some gifts for y'all for looking out," the musician added, captioning the post: “Thank you @ganderwess.stupid for reuniting us back with our dog.” The Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party host previously confirmed that their family's pet was missing, sharing a snap of the poster they made. "Our dog Frank went missing on January 30th 2022 in South LA (49th St/ Figueroa) He is a Grey French bulldog. If you see him please DM me at @reyg213," he wrote via Instagram on Monday, January 31. Snoop Dogg is an avid animal lover, who takes care of 11 pet dogs and two Siamese cats. He previously made headlines when he offered to take in an abandoned pooch that shared his moniker after it was found on a street in England. "It is heartbreaking. There is always room for another dog in Casa de Snoop," the "Young Wild & Free" crooner told the Daily Star in January 2019. "If he really needed a home then he has one with us. But I don't think there is going to be any shortage of loving homes after all the exposure he has got." "I’m honored to be co-hosting the only sporting event on the planet guaranteed to raise the 'woof,’ with the magnificent Martha Stewart," he said via a statement last month. The pair — who previously hosted last year's game — will provide play updates, lead training sessions, run drills, and provide "paws-itive motivation and encouragement" to their squad as they compete for the "Lombarky Trophy." |
Brooklyn Beckham Recalls ‘Nerve-Wracking’ Proposal: Nicola ‘Kept Crying’ Posted: 02 Feb 2022 10:17 AM PST Love at first sight! Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz are two of young Hollywood’s brightest stars, so it’s no surprise that their relationship has been full of sparks from the moment it started. The pair, who began dating in October 2019, got serious fast, making their relationship Instagram official in January 2020 and getting engaged less than a year into their romance. "Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes,” the photographer wrote via Instagram in July 2020 after popping the question. “I am the luckiest man in the world. I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day The model’s famous parents, Victoria Beckham and David Beckham, are super supportive of their eldest son’s relationship and are huge fans of their future daughter-in-law. "[Nicola] is just wonderful," the former Spice Girls member said during a December 2020 appearance on the talk show Lorraine. "She's sweet, she's kind, she's such a lovely, warm, wonderful, wonderful woman. We couldn't have asked for Brooklyn to meet a more adorable, lovely lady. We are very happy. We love her. He's so happy." After news of the duo’s engagement broke in 2020, both of Brooklyn’s parents took to Instagram to wish the couple well. "The MOST exciting news!! We could not be happier that @brooklynbeckham and @nicolaannepeltz are getting married!” the fashion designer wrote via Instagram. “Wishing you so much love and a lifetime of happiness The soccer star joined in with his own post, writing, “Congratulations to these two beautiful people … As they begin this exciting journey together we are so so happy for you guys.” Though the twosome haven’t yet walked down the aisle, they have already made permanent commitments to each other in the form of tattoos. In April 2021, Peltz showed off a tattoo of her fiancé’s name written in cursive on her back. Brooklyn, for his part, has a tattoo of Peltz’s grandmother’s name as well as a pair of eyes that fans speculated were drawn to look like those of the Bates Motel alum. He also has a tattoo on his arm that reads, “My life, my love, my truth, my breath, my reason, my beauty, my precious." For a less painful tribute, the Last Airbender star had matching necklaces made with their wisdom teeth. “You’re my best friend,” she captioned the Instagram Story showing off the jewelry. Simu Liu Announces Memoir: It’s ‘My Whole Heart and Soul’ Posted: 02 Feb 2022 10:14 AM PST Putting pen to paper! Whether it be a memoir, children’s book or something in between, celebrities — including the Kardashian sisters, Michelle Obama and Mindy Kaling — have all taken their talents outside of the realm of Hollywood by becoming successful authors. The Mindy Project alum made her authorial debut in 2011 when Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) hit shelves, followed by Questions I Ask When I Want to Talk About Myself: 50 Topics to Share With Friends in 2013 and Why Not Me? in 2015. Her 2020 essay collection, Nothing Like I Imagined (Except for Sometimes), explored her identities as an Indian woman, an actress and a single mom. “I think I am so used to labels. The labels have been the center stone of my entire career. And sometimes they’re useful because it separates me from other people,” the Never Have I Ever producer told NPR in October 2020. “But I don’t think I would get far in this business if I had a thin skin about labels because for me — and it’s not just those. It’s, like, not traditionally thin, like, dark-skinned, like, not your Bollywood — so I’ve had these since — pretty much since I had my own show, I was sort of inundated with how other I was and really quickly. I think I’m pretty comfortable with them. And actually as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to embrace them a little bit.” Kaling welcomed her daughter, Katherine, in 2017, and her son, Spencer, made a surprise arrival three years later. Dating as a single mother has been “complicated,” she wrote in her 2020 book. “Sometimes it’s the most liberating and lucky feeling in the world,” she explained. “Sometimes I am just so grateful to be an independent woman doing what I want, when I want, that I could cry with gratitude. … I save a truly staggering amount of time not having to run my parenting decisions by another person. Good or bad, I can just, like, quickly make a decision and move on with my day.” While the Office alum chose to go into detail about her current lifestyle, Obama delved deeper into her upbringing in her 2018 memoir, Becoming, which sold more than 2 million copies in two weeks, breaking the record for the year’s highest-selling book. In 24 chapters, the former first lady describes how her childhood in Chicago led her to where she is now. Obama embarked on a nationwide tour to promote the book, sitting down with an accomplished and diverse group of guests in front of sold-out crowds. In 2020, the Princeton University grad earned the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for her reading of the audiobook and released a Netflix documentary based on her memoir. “So little of who I am happened in those eight years [in the White House],” she said in the film’s trailer. “So much more of who I was happened before. … We can’t afford to wait for the world to be equal to start feeling seen.” Scroll down for a recap of some of the most successful stars-turned-authors: ![]() The Spy Kids star and the Big Time Rush alum wrote a memoir titled What If Love is the Point? Celebs With Secret Social Media Accounts: Kylie Jenner, Beyonce and More Posted: 02 Feb 2022 10:07 AM PST Secret identities! It’s not unusual for celebrities to have public social media accounts for their fans — and private ones for their friends. The Kardashian sisters are all super-active on Instagram, but according to Kourtney Kardashian, there’s more going on behind the scenes that fans don’t get to see. During a June 2019 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the Poosh founder revealed that her younger sisters Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner have finstas, or fake Instagrams. Kourtney revealed the names of her sisters’ secret accounts on the show, but the intrepid editors at KUWTK censored them. While live-tweeting the episode, Khloé Kardashian noted that she also had an undercover account, but she couldn’t see the appeal. “Kourtney made me a Finsta when we were drunk and I’ve only used it once,” she wrote at the time. “To me, it’s pointless.” While some celebrities use their secret social media accounts to share private photos with their inner circle, others give their alternative profiles a theme. In 2017, Lorde was outed as the mastermind behind Onion Rings Worldwide, an Instagram solely devoted to reviewing onion rings at restaurants around the globe. During a June 2017 interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the “Solar Power” singer confirmed the she was the appetizer connoisseur who made the page. “I sort of naively didn’t realize it would be, like, a thing that I was going to different places and trying the onion rings at each of those places,” she explained. “I feel like it reads like the kind of thing that a pop star would do to, like, look relatable.” The Grammy winner added that the account started as a “funny thing” she and her friends thought of while on tour. “I was like, ‘This is a good pastime,'” she joked before noting that she deleted it after just four posts. “I just felt like it was, like, ‘Now everyone knows about it,’ and … people are gonna be throwing onion rings at me on tour, and it’s gonna, like, turn into a whole thing. It was fun for, like, five seconds, but I’m still gonna keep eating onion rings.” Eventually, however, the pull of fried onions proved to be too strong, because Lorde reinstated Onion Rings Worldwide in December 2020. “Don't call it a crumb back,” she wrote alongside a photo of two golden rings.
