Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Ups and Downs Through the Years

Posted: 06 Feb 2022 11:30 AM PST

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have experienced both highs and lows in their years-long relationship.

Kardashian and West met in the early 2000s when he was recording a song with her pal Brandy, a singer who is also the older sister to Ray Jthe KKW Beauty mogul's ex. The duo reconnected years later after her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries ended. At the time, Kardashian visited Paris to attend West's fashion show.

"Right before I got married to Kris Humphries, [Kanye and I] were talking and I just went a different direction. I think I had to go through that to figure out what I wanted," she explained on the Keeping Up With the Kardashians 10th anniversary special in 2017. "After my breakup, I was feeling really low and down and he said, 'Just come to Paris and see my fashion show.'"

The businesswoman added, "He jokes that he put on this whole fashion show just to get a date with me. So, I went there and I stayed with him, and that’s where we started dating. I swear from the moment I landed, I fell madly in love with him and I thought, 'Oh, my God. Why didn't I do this sooner?' Like, this is what real life is like — love and fun and real support."

The twosome began dating in the spring of 2012 and Us Weekly confirmed that December that Kardashian was expecting the pair's first child, North. Four months after welcoming North, the "Gold Digger" rapper proposed to Kardashian. The couple wed in Italy in May 2014.

As their marriage progressed, the pair encountered issues when trying to grow their family. Though Kardashian gave birth to son Saint in 2015, she would welcome daughter Chicago in 2018 and son Psalm in 2019 via surrogate.

"You get your surrogate attorney, you get your surrogate broker and then the broker recommended that we use a therapist that would communicate with me first and then communicate with her and kind of be our liaison," she explained on Laura Wasser's "All's Fair" podcast in February 2020. "Toward the end, we got close enough where we could communicate really without that."

The pair continued to encounter and overcome hardships over the years, including Kardashian being held at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room in 2016. West abruptly ended his New York concert and rushed to his wife's side upon hearing of the scary incident.

In July 2020, the Grammy winner announced his run for the U.S. presidency. During his campaign rally in South Carolina, he revealed a very personal tidbit about how he and Kardashian considered aborting their daughter North. He then proceeded to go on a Twitter rant, during which he claimed that Kardashian tried to get a "doctor to lock me up" after his behavior at the South Carolina event.

After months of split rumors, Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021.

Early Beginnings
The pair continued to remain in contact after initially meeting through Brandy in the early 2000s. Kardashian said she was talking to West ahead of her marriage to Humphries, but she ultimately reconnected with the Yeezy designer after the marriage ended in October 2011. Expectant Parents

Romantic Engagement
West planned the sweetest proposal to Kardashian in October 2013. At the time, he brought the reality star to the San Francisco Giants baseball stadium, AT&T Park. A sign at the stadium read, “PLEASE MARRY MEEE!!!” Kardashian’s family and close friends were all in attendance. Shutterstock
Fairytale Wedding
The couple tied the knot at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, in May 2014. Kardashian wore a Givenchy dress worth nearly $500,000. The nuptials cost an estimated $12 million. Shutterstock
Pregnancy Complications
Kardashian faced major health issues while she was pregnant with North and Saint. She opened up to Allure in October 2017 about the possibility of carrying her third child, saying: “I would like to, but I’ve had lots and lots of complications. I had preeclampsia. And then I also had something called placenta accreta. We’ve explored surrogacy. We’re thinking about it.” Both Chicago and Psalm arrived via surrogate. Shutterstock
Feuding With Taylor Swift
Despite interrupting her 2009 VMAs acceptance speech, West and Swift later appeared to be on good terms. The “Lover” singer even presented him with an award at the 2015 VMAs. However, they encountered issues when West made an offensive statement about Swift in his 2016 track “Famous.” After Swift spoke out against the derogatory remark, Kardashian leaked footage of Swift seemingly giving West permission to use the lyric. Swift would go on to address the feud through songs on her Reputation album in 2017. Cut to June 2019, Swift called out Kardashian in a Tumblr post for having “orchestrated an illegally recorded snippet of a phone call to be leaked.” In the year that followed, full footage from the frenemies’ call was leaked and Swift claimed in her Instagram Stories that she “was telling the truth the whole time.” Meanwhile, Kardashian tweeted in her husband’s defense and alleged that Swift was “actually lying.” Shutterstock (3)
Kim's Scary Robbery at Gunpoint
Kardashian flew to France in October 2016 to attend Paris Fashion Week. She was alone in her hotel room one evening when she was robbed at gunpoint by men disguised as police officers. They tied her up and put her in the bathroom before leaving the scene. Upon hearing the news, West abruptly left his set at the Meadows Music & Arts Festival in New York. West told fans at the time, “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Family emergency, I have to stop the show.” Kardashian would later recall the scary experience in a March 2017 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. “I saw two guys holding another guy down in police uniforms, right outside of my bedroom, five feet away,” she explained. “So I slid off my bed and picked up my phone, and I’m like, ‘I don’t know how to call 911 in a different country.’ So I called [my bodyguard] Pascal [Duvier] and then the guy came in, grabbed the phone from me, and threw me on the bed. I was like, ‘This is it.’” Shutterstock (2)
Kanye's Hospitalization
West was hospitalized for extreme exhaustion in November 2016 at the UCLA Medical Center. Just before his hospitalization, West ranted about Jay Z and Beyoncé at a concert in Sacramento, California. He also canceled the remaining dates on his Saint Pablo Tour. A source told Us that his workload, Kardashian’s Paris robbery and the anniversary of his late mother’s death contributed to his breakdown. “He’s been shaken up ever since the robbery in Paris,” the insider said. “It did a number on him as much as Kim. The mere thought that anything could happen to her sent him in a tailspin. He wasn’t sleeping, and he was having nightmares about it.” Shutterstock
Standing by President Trump
West made headlines for his controversial support of President Donald Trump. In April 2018, the rapper even referred to Trump as his “brother” and said that they share “dragon energy.” Though Kardashian claimed that she would not vote for Trump in the 2016 presidential election, she ultimately visited the White House to work alongside the former reality TV star to improve prison reform. Shutterstock
Kanye's Mental Health
West said on his 2018 album, Ye, that he suffers from bipolar disorder. He later opened up about his mental health struggles on David Letterman’s Netflix show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. “I wouldn’t be able to explain that as much just because, you know, I'm not a doctor,” he said in May 2019. “I can just tell you what I’m feeling at the time, and I feel a heightened connection with the universe when I’m ramping up. It is a health issue.” West added, “This — it’s like a sprained brain, like having a sprained ankle. And if someone has a sprained ankle, you’re not going to push on him more. With us, once our brain gets to a point of spraining, people do everything to make it worse.” Stephen Lovekin/WWD/Shutterstock

Supporting Each Other's Achievements
After Kardashian sold a stake in her KKW Beauty brand to Coty in June, Forbes confirmed that her net worth had increased to $900 million. West congratulated her via Twitter by noting how “proud” he was of her becoming a billionaire. Before this, Kardashian raved about West’s Yeezy brand making a deal with Gap. “If anyone knows Kanye, they know how much the Gap and Yeezy means to him so this partnership is his dream come true,” she tweeted. “I am so proud of him.” Shutterstock
Presidential Run
West announced his run for president in July 2020. Later that month, he made headlines for a series of outrageous statements he made during a campaign rally in South Carolina. At the political event, he claimed that Harriet Tubman “never actually freed the slaves” and “just had the slaves go work for other white people.” He also stated that he “almost killed” daughter North via abortion. A source told Us that Kardashian was “deeply upset with Kanye for talking about their personal life and for making matters that are very personal to them and their family public.” MEGA
Kanye's Erratic Twitter Rant
After his South Carolina rally, West took to Twitter to post several rambling tweets. In one post, he claimed that Kardashian tried to get a doctor to “lock” him up after the comments he made at the political event. “She’s tried so hard to help him, but now Kim and her family feel as though he’s really crossed a line by talking negatively about them publicly and sharing private family matters with the public,” a source told Us. “She feels helpless at this point.” Shutterstock (2)
Standing By Him
After West made more claims about Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, via Twitter in July 2020, the KKW Beauty CEO released a statement about the musician’s struggles with bipolar disorder.   “I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health,” she began via Instagram Stories. “Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor. People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgmental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.” Kardashian went on to call West “brilliant but complicated,” noting he is under a lot of pressure. She added: “Living with bipolar disorder does not diminish or invalidate his dreams and creative ideas, no matter how big or unobtainable they may feel to some. That is part of his genius and as we have all witnessed, many of his big dreams have come true.” After asking for “compassion and empathy,” the reality TV star signed her message, “Kim Kardashian West.” Gregory Pace/Shutterstock
Sticking Together
After jetting off to the Dominican Republic together in August 2020, a source told Us that the pair are back on track. “Their vacation definitely helped put things at ease for the time being, but the issues they were dealing with go deeper than that and unfortunately won’t just be solved with a trip,” one source said. “Their marriage definitely faced some hardships and was just hanging on with Kanye not being able to fully be present for their family, but ultimately Kim wants to keep everyone together and work things out for their kids.” According to a second insider, Kardashian and West “agreed” to stop talking about politics while they work on their marriage. Breaking Point
In January 2021, multiple sources confirmed to Us that Kardashian and West were headed for a split. “They have both been living separate lives for many months now. Kim and Kanye haven’t been on the same page for a while now,” a source told Us at the time, noting that the makeup mogul was “done dealing with Kanye’s unpredictable behavior.” Gregory Pace/Shutterstock

Divorce Specifics
Kardashian sought joint legal and physical custody of their four kids and asked a judge to enforce their prenup and terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support. West responded to the filing in April 2021, requesting the same conditions for custody and spousal support that his estranged wife put forth. MEGA
Opening Up
During a June 2021 episode of KUWTK, Kardashian shed some light on the state of her relationship with West after sister Khloé Kardashian noticed her "struggling privately behind [the] camera." After previously getting cagey about her marriage throughout the season, Kim broke her silence. "I just honestly can't do this anymore," she said. "Why am I still in this place where I'm stuck for years? Like, he goes and moves to a different state every year. I have to be, like, together so I can raise the kids. He's an amazing dad, he's done an amazing job. I just think he deserves someone who will support his every move and go follow him all over the place and move to Wyoming. I can't do that. ... I feel like a f–king failure. It's my third f–king marriage. Yeah, I feel like a f–king loser. But I can't even think about that. I want to be happy." E!
Family Reunion
In July 2021, the estranged couple reunited with their kids in San Francisco for a private art showing at the Asian Art Museum. “They came in as a normal family who was there to have fun,” a source exclusively told Us at the time. “They had a really great time with the kids and everyone looked really happy and in a good mood. The kids were running around and laughing.” Courtesy of Kim Kardashian/Instagram
Music Magic
Kardashian attended West’s Donda release and listening party in Atlanta in July 2021. The reality star sat in the stadium with the pair’s four little ones and her sister Khloé Kardashian, sharing footage from the arena via social media.  At the event, West stood silently as his music played throughout the stadium, including lyrics about his life as a newly single man and “losing my family.” One track featured his late mother’s voice saying, “No matter what, you never abandon your family.” MEGA; Courtesy of Khloe Kardashian/Instagram
New Confidence
Six months after Kardashian filed for divorce, she gushed over the lessons she learned from West throughout their nearly 10-year romance.  "As long as he was true to himself, that taught me so much in the best way [about] just being me and living in the moment," she said on the "We Are Supported By" podcast in August 2021. "You don't have to please everyone. As long as I'm myself and as long as I'm doing it the way that I want to, like, you have one life and you're living it for you. That taught me to just be more confident in myself and truly not care as much of what other people thought." Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock; Stephen Lovekin/Shutterstock
Met Gala Collaboration
West didn't attend the 2021 Met Gala, but he did help his estranged wife choose the controversial Balenciaga look that she wore to the September event. After the big night, the rapper shared a series of photos of Kardashian via his Instagram account. His Yeezy company's official account responded by leaving a goat emoji in the comments of the post. ‘SNL’ Digs
When Kardashian made her Saturday Night Live hosting debut in October 2021, she used her monologue to get in a couple of jabs at her ex. "I married the best rapper of all time," she said. "Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America: a talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids. So when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality.” She later poked fun at West's 2020 presidential bid in a joke that also targeted Caitlyn Jenner's gubernatorial run. “Now I know we’re divided as a country, but I’d love America to come together, which is I’m here to announce that I’m running for ... I’m just kidding, guys," she quipped. "I’m not running for president. We can’t have three failed politicians in one family.” Rosalind O'Connor/NBC
Getting the House
In October 2021, Kardashian paid West $23 million for his share of the Hidden Hills, California, home they purchased shortly after their wedding. “She has made her life there and it’s her kids’ main home,” an insider previously told Us of the house. “There was never a question — Kim was going to keep the home.” Broadimage/Shutterstock
Pete Davidson Drama
Amid rumors that the Selfish author had moved on with Pete Davidson, West said that he wanted to get back together with Kardashian. “SNL making my wife say ‘I divorced him’ on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off and I never have seen the papers. We’re not even divorced,” he claimed during an interview with Revolt's "Drink Champs" in November 2021. “So how we — because [it’s] no joke to me, my kids want their parents to stay together. I want their parents — I want us to be together.” That same month, a source exclusively told Us that the Yeezy designer was "hurting" and "not happy" about Kardashian spending time with the comedian.  Shutterstock (2)
Reconciliation Attempt
Shortly after sharing a throwback PDA photo on social media, West made a public plea for his estranged wife to take him back while performing "Runaway" during a benefit concert in Los Angeles. "I need you to run right back to me," he sang. "More specifically, Kimberly." Evan Agostini/AP/Shutterstock
New Court Filing
One day after West mentioned Kardashian during a performance, Us confirmed that the beauty mogul filed legal paperwork to be declared legally single and restore her original last name. Shutterstock (2)
Birthday Party Mishap
In January 2022, West made headlines when he claimed that he wasn't invited to his daughter Chicago's 4th birthday party. “Y’all, I was just wishing my daughter a public happy birthday. I wasn’t allowed to know where her party was, there’s nothing legal that’s saying that this is the kind of game that’s being played,” the Yeezy designer claimed during an Instagram Live at the time, according to TMZ. “It’s the kind of thing that really has affected my health for the longest and I’m just not playing. I’m taking control of my narrative this year.” He added: “I’m being the best father — the Ye version of a father — and I’m not finna let this happen. ... Chicago, happy birthday. I love you and I’m just putting this online because I need y’all’s support.”Shortly after calling the alleged snub, West was spotted in several videos from the outdoor event. A source later told Us that Kardashian was shocked by her estranged husband's comments, noting, “There were always two parties planned for Chicago, which was Kanye’s idea. He was scheduled to celebrate with her at 4pm today." Shutterstock; Courtesy of Kim Kardashian/Instagram
Some Choice Words
West seemingly revealed his real feelings about Kardashian's whirlwind romance with Davidson in a leaked song titled "My Life Was Never Eazy."“God saved me from the crash just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass," he rapped in the January 2022 snippet, which was shared via Twitter. Shutterstock (3)
TikTok Trouble
In February 2022, West slammed Kardashian for letting North use TikTok. The makeup mogul clapped back via Instagram Stories, accusing West’s “constant attacks” of making a “healthy and supportive coparenting relationship … impossible.” Stephen Lovekin/Shutterstock; Zelig Shaul/Ace Pictures/Shutterstock
Serious Allegations
In February 2022, West claimed Kardashian accused him of drug abuse, theft and "putting a hit out on her" in a lengthy Instagram post.  “YESTERDAY KIM ACCUSED ME OF PUTTING A HIT OUT ON HER,” West alleged, two days after slamming his estranged wife for allowing North to launch a TikTok account. “SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT I BEG TO GO TO MY DAUGHTERS PARTY AND IM ACCUSED OF BEING ON DRUGS THEN I GO PLAY WITH MY SON AND I TAKE MY AKIRA GRAPHIC NOVELS AND IM ACCUSED OF STEALING NOW IM BEING ACCUSED OF PUTTING A HIT ON HER THESE IDEAS CAN ACTUALLY GET SOMEONE LOCKED UP THEY PLAY LIKE THAT WITH BLACK MENS LIVES WEATHER ITS GETTING THEM FREE OR GETTING THEM LOCKED UP IM NOT PLAYING ABOUT MY BLACK CHILDREN ANYMORE.” APEX/MEGA; Shutterstock

"YESTERDAY KIM ACCUSED ME OF PUTTING A HIT OUT ON HER," the Yeezy designer, 44, claimed via a Sunday, February 6, Instagram post, alongside an iPhone screenshot, in which he sent an unnamed recipient a message that read, "Send me Kim's number."

The "Off the Grid" rapper — who tagged the 41-year-old Skims mogul in his post — further detailed the accusations that this estranged wife allegedly made against him.

"SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT I BEG TO GO TO MY DAUGHTERS PARTY AND IM ACCUSED OF BEING ON DRUGS," West wrote, referring to his previous claims that he was barred from attending Chicago's birthday party last month until Travis Scott allegedly sent him the address for the celebration. "THEN I GO PLAY WITH MY SON AND I TAKE MY AKIRA GRAPHIC NOVELS AND IM ACCUSED OF STEALING. NOW IM BEING ACCUSED OF PUTTING A HIT ON HER."

He continued: "THESE IDEAS CAN ACTUALLY GET SOMEONE LOCKED UP THEY PLAY LIKE THAT WITH BLACK MENS LIVES [whether] ITS GETTING THEM FREE OR GETTING THEM LOCKED UP.”

West concluded, “IM NOT PLAYING ABOUT MY BLACK CHILDREN ANYMORE."

One day earlier, the Grammy winner made headlines after accusing the KKW Beauty entrepreneur of barring him of bringing their four children — North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2 — to his hometown of Chicago.

"Kim is stopping that, how is this joint custody?" West wrote via Instagram on Saturday, February 5.

Kardashian — who filed for divorce from the rapper in February 2021 after six years of marriage — has yet to address the Illinois native's latest allegations.

Kanye West's Most Outrageous Moments

The former couple previously went back-and-forth earlier this weekly after West blamed the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum for allowing North to launch her own TikTok account "against my will."

Kardashian, for her part, denied his claims via Instagram Story on Friday, February 4.

"Kanye's constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create," the reality TV star wrote at the time. "As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness. Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye's obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all."

This Is Us’ Mandy Moore and Husband Taylor Goldsmith Debut Joint Song

Posted: 06 Feb 2022 10:50 AM PST

True love! Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith fell head over heels for each other when they first met, and their quiet love story slowly captured all of our hearts.

The This Is Us star never stopped believing she deserved love after she went through a devastating split from her estranged husband, Ryan Adams. Moore and Adams called it quits in January 2015 following nearly six years of marriage. Though the pair stated things remained amicable and respectful at the time their separation was first announced, the A Walk to Remember star opened up about her "sad" and "lonely" marriage in early 2019, alleging that Adams was often emotionally and verbally abusive toward her. Adams, for his part, admitted in a statement to Us Weekly that he’s “not a perfect man” and has “made many mistakes” following the claims of abuse.

After experiencing heartbreak, the “Candy” singer says life with Goldsmith "couldn't be more different. The newlyweds met through Instagram in May 2015. Moore outed herself as a big fan of Goldsmith's band, Dawes, posting the cover of one of their albums.

“Real excited about this one. Have a feeling it’s going to be the soundtrack of my summer. #Dawes #rightontime," the Emmy nominee captioned the post. When the Dawes frontman noticed his famous new fan, the two began DMing, bonded over their shared love of music. The rest is history.

The pair had been happily dating for two years when Us first reported that they were quietly engaged in September 2017, shortly before the couple made their official announcement.

Since the lovebirds had kept their relationship relatively private, it was only fitting that Moore said they were planning a low-key wedding. "I don't think I'm going to have a big, old affair," the former popstar told Us in October 2017. "I think it will be small, and quiet, and private."

Just over one year later, Moore finally married "the right person" in an intimate, romantic ceremony in Los Angeles. The two exchanged vows at sunset in the actress' backyard in front of friends and family on November 18, 2018. Moore's This Is Us costars Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz and Sterling K. Brown celebrated the special moment, as well as close friend Minka Kelly and the bride's ex, Wilmer Valderrama.

"Thank you for your grace, patience, humor, understanding and so much more. There is no one better, Taylor. Oh and I can't wait to meet this baby boy of ours!! Happy Anniversary, my love." Ben Platt and Noah Galvin’s Relationship Timeline

Posted: 06 Feb 2022 10:10 AM PST

It's only them! After years of friendship, Ben Platt and Noah Galvin's relationship turned romantic as they spent time together in lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"Ben and I are dating," the Good Doctor actor first revealed during a May 2020 appearance on Ilana Levine's "Little Known Things" podcast. “I asked him this morning. I was like, ‘Are we allowed to talk about this?’ And he's like, 'Don't go into our nitty-gritty, but yeah, people can know.' It's still relatively new."

The duo — who have both portrayed the titular character in Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen — kept their romance relative private after confirming the news. However, they often can't resist gushing about one another.

"Long story short, Ben made me a birthday video. Ben very sweetly for the past, like, probably three months, has been putting together this video for me," the Real O'Neals alum said during the podcast interview. "It's all my favorite drag queens from RuPaul's Drag Race and beyond and all of my friends in drag, wishing me a happy birthday."

Shortly after the musical theatre stars quarantined together — and costarred in a series of "QuaranTunes Dance Parties" on Instagram — the pair grew even closer while staying at Platt's childhood home, eventually getting a labradoodle named George together. The budding romance has provided major creative inspiration for both of the actors.

"The song ['Imagine'] came to me from Michael Pollack, who's a really brilliant songwriter [and is] my EP on my whole second album … It spoke to me immediately because I recently entered into a relationship this year with my boyfriend, Noah Galvin," the Politician star explained during a June 2021 interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show. "We've been together for about a year and a half now. It was really crazy, we've been friends for, like, five years and right before the pandemic, we finally decided to, like, really give it a shot."

He told host Kelly Clarkson, "We've kind of skated around it for a long time and then it was, like, zero to 60, like we're living together with my parents in [my] childhood home and seeing each other all the time. But it ended up being a beautiful time."

Since then, their relationship has continued to flourish as they've each shared sweet tributes via social media.

"2021 often deeply sucked and yet he somehow made it mostly wonderful," the California native wrote via Instagram in December 2021 alongside a cozy selfie of the pair.

Sadie Robertson and Christian Huff: A Timeline of Their Relationship

Posted: 06 Feb 2022 09:00 AM PST

Meant to be. Sadie Robertson and Christian Huff fell hard and fast for one another, and they’re planning to make it work for the long haul.

“My faith is the most important thing to me, his faith is the No. 1 most important thing to him, and that's what we talk about. That's what gets us excited and that's what we share a huge bond in,” the Duck Dynasty alum told Us Weekly in November 2019 while explaining why she and Huff work so well as a couple. “I think that's what makes it extra special. We celebrate each other's lives, and I think, for us, we truly love the other person.”

The couple — who began quietly dating in September 2018 — have often talked about their friendship and how it has helped them develop a stronger romantic relationship. “Wanted to post a picture with my best friend and give some public praise for how amazing she is and all that she does that goes unnoticed,” the Florida native wrote on Instagram in January 2020, gushing over his wife.

He continued: “Sadie, you are unlike any other and love so beautifully with no limits. … I love you more every day and am grateful for every moment with you. I will stand with you through anything and I know you'd do the same for me. Can't imagine this life without you standing by your side cheering you on.”

Just under one year after their November 2020 wedding, Robertson announced that she and Huff were expecting their first child together. While they were thrilled with the news, the Dancing With the Stars alum confessed that they hadn’t planned to have children so soon. “I guess we shouldn't have been that surprised, but we were super surprised and so I didn't think I was pregnant at all,” Robertson said on a December 2020 episode of her “Whoa, That’s Good” podcast. “I was just overjoyed and I was just thanking God because Christian and I have said since we got married we kinda left it in God's hands. We want a baby when it's God's time for us to have a baby.”

When their baby girl was born, the pair chose the name Honey, inspired by a Bible verse with significant meaning, Proverbs 16:24: “Gracious words are like honey, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Both Robertson and Huff loved its sentiment. “On our first date we went to do pottery together and on my cup I simply wrote ‘honey’ because I called [Huff] the boy with the honey words,” the Who Are You Following shared on Instagram ahead of Honey’s birth.

“Fast forward 2 and a half years later and we have a daughter on the way who we so proudly get to name after one of the loveliest words,” she added.

Keep scrolling to see how Robertson and Huff’s relationship has unfolded over the years.

February 2019
Robertson subtly confirmed that she was in a new relationship on Valentine's Day 2019, sharing a photo of Huff holding balloons and a giant teddy bear on Instagram. "Celebrating this kind of love everyday, but with a teddy bear and balloons today," the Louisiana native wrote. "Thank you for how you love and who you are!" Two days later, Huff shared his own tribute on social media, describing Robertson as "my butta half and my best friend." He continued, "Thank you for every moment and every memory, nothing you do goes unnoticed. There is nobody in the world like you." Courtesy of Christian Huff/Instagram
March 2019
One month later, the couple celebrated their six-month anniversary, with Robertson writing on Instagram that Huff "brought so much life and freedom" into her life. "Today marks half a year of being your girl and it has been the sweetest and purest JOY! There’s no one that loves like you do," she wrote, concluding her post by adding that "I love you some kinda crazy." Courtesy of Sadie Robertson/Instagram
June 2019
Huff popped the question on his 19th birthday and his new fiancé was so happy that she "screamed YES" in response. "I’m the happiest human in the world on June 9th, 2019 today and for the rest of my life," she continued. "I GET TO MARRY THIS MAN. God is faithful and so so good." The "4:8 Men" podcast host, for his part, described the proposal as the "best day of his life," and gushed about his new fiancée. "I love you more than words and I love getting to celebrate who God created you to be," he wrote on Instagram about Robertson. Courtesy of Sadie Robertson/Instagram

Ahead of their wedding, the couple moved into a new house together. Robertson chronicled the day on social media, writing on Instagram that she had "all the feels" about this new chapter. Courtesy of Sadie Robertson/Instagram

"I want him to succeed in all the things and he wants me to succeed in other things, and we enjoy doing it together because he’s my best friend and I think that those elements make it really special," the Finding Freedom author told Us exclusively, gushing about why Huff is her perfect partner. "I think a friendship is the most important thing in a relationship and ours is really strong." Courtesy of Sadie Robertson/Instagram

The couple tied the knot on Robertson's family's farm in West Monroe, Louisiana. Nearly one year later, Robertson announced that she and Huff were expecting their first child by sharing a photo of them holding up the ultrasound pictures on Instagram. "We are thankful to be carrying a miracle into the world!" she wrote at the time. "Baby, you are already loved and already believed in. Can’t wait to welcome you into the world with all the joy, hope, and excitement you will bring into the life of so many by your miraculous incredible life." Courtesy of Sadie Robertson/Instagram

Robertson's sister Rebecca Robertson Loflin revealed that the couple were expecting a baby girl. Huff, meanwhile, took a joking approach to sharing the news, captioning a photo of him and the Sun, Sand and Romance star covered in pink paint with, "Sadie’s pregnant, I’m the father and the child is a girl." December 2020
Ahead of the birth of their baby girl, the twosome took a moment to reflect on everything that they experienced in the year since their wedding. "We’ve had an incredible start, a crazy start," Robertson told Us at the time. "We feel like we’ve been married for a year. That actually should count as five years because COVID years are like dog years. So it’s been incredible. It really has. We were very grateful that we had each other through this year." The Life Just Got Real producer added that quarantine helped her and Huff realize "just how good of friends we have become and how good of friends we are to one another." She continued: "And I think that’s so huge. Like, you want a partner who’s a friend and who’s a good one. And so it’s really cool to look back at this year and see that light, man." April 2021
After announcing that they had decided to name their daughter Honey, Robertson explained the sweet meaning it held for the couple. "When Christian and I started dating we went through the book of Proverbs together," she wrote on Instagram. "I remember getting to chapter 16 and as I read verse 24 I said to him, 'You have words like honey. They are so sweet and are healing places in my heart I didn't even know needed to be healed.'" The new mom confessed to E! News that they were already thinking about giving Honey another sibling ... or three. "One day we’ll say [we want] four kids, one day we’ll say three," she said, adding that they have also talked about possibly adopting another child one day. "I've just seen the beauty of it, what a blended family can look like from adoption." Courtesy of Sadie Robertson/Instagram

One month later, Robertson told her Instagram followers that she and Huff weren't in a rush to expand their family just yet. "Yes!" the Live on Purpose author wrote, when a fan asked if they wanted to have more kids. "But not anytime soon. Courtesy of Sadie Robertson/Instagram
February 2022
"Christian and I have never felt closer as a couple just because went through the most vulnerable time ever together," she told Us, adding that her husband supported her through her experiences with postpartum depression and the early days of parenthood. "There were certainly days where, you know, it’s hard not to get frustrated at each other or whatever. But I will say, like, it did kinda help realizing that we’re both struggling." She added: "[We realized that] we're literally in this together. I’m about to lose my mind [and] you’re about to lose your mind. Like, 'OK, we’re a team here. … Let’s be in this together.'" "You know, for me, this has all had this amazing glow to every single decision, every single competition because I have decided this will be my last Olympics and with that, I've given it my all," White, 35, told reporters during a Saturday, February 5, press conference. "There's been some ups and downs along the way to get here but through all of that, I feel like I've gotten stronger [and] gotten better — and now, I'm with these amazing teammates and I'm just so excited about everything."

He added at the time: "[I'm] just enjoying everything single moment and, I don't know, I've done so much in the sport. … I'm always trying to push and progress and do the next biggest thing and try to pick up on what trends are happening within the sport and be ahead of the curve."

White noted that he believes his Beijing appearance will be his last competition, but that doesn't mean he's letting go of his board just yet.

"I definitely don’t think I’ll be leaving the sport anytime soon,” the California native added. “I think the beautiful part about snowboarding is there’s still a life to be had within the sport outside of competition. … So, I'm excited for that next chapter."

Before the Air + Style owner announced his competitive retirement, his girlfriend, Nina Dobrev, exclusively told Us Weekly how she would feel about her man stepping back from the Olympics after this year.

“I support him in whatever decision he makes, always," the Vampire Diaries alum, 33, revealed to Us on Friday, February 4. "He's the only one who could make those decisions. [He's had] such an incredibly long and amazing, successful run of the sport. He knows when the time is to throw the hat in, and he's decided that it's now."

While Dobrev is not able to support her love in person, whom she was first linked to in 2020, she's cheering him on from home.

"We'll be anxiously watching from home and cheering him on," she added. "I'm very, very excited for him. I can't wait. I taped [his event], so it's at the house, and as soon as I get home, I'm gonna sit down with my girlfriends and we're gonna catch up and watch."

While the Fresh Vine Wine founder is an avid supporter of her love's athletic prowess, White is equally enthusiastic when the pair can hit the slopes together.

"What's been really great is she can snowboard really well because I'm not the best teacher," White previously told Us in October 2021. "For some reason, I can do it, but I just have a really hard time explaining it how. I remember our first riding day together, I was like, 'OK, I'm getting ready for her to be falling,' and I zipped down the mountain and I turned around. I was like, 'Oh gosh, I hope she's OK.' I'm sitting there for a minute and I was like, 'Uh-oh. Do I unstrap and walk up? Maybe she fell. I'm the horrible guy that just took off.' She had passed me during my run somehow. Going way faster than me. She was already waiting at the chairlifts."

Throughout White's professional career, he has gone to the Olympics five times, taking home three medals and earning his first gold trophy at the Turin 2006 Winter Games.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood's Relationship: A Timeline

Posted: 06 Feb 2022 07:53 AM PST

A storybook love. Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are one of the country music’s most famous couples, but they’ve definitely had their ups and downs.

"People thought, Well, two celebrities who are in the same business, they won't last,'” Yearwood shared with Us Weekly in 2018. "I'm invested in this family, this is what I want for myself and no offense to anything else in my past, but I get it, I get it now and this is what I want. So we just earn it. Day by day."

She also added that in order to make their relationship work, they’re all about the scheduling. “We plan our days if we're gonna be apart so that we can get back together as soon as possible,” the “Walkaway Joe” singer said.

The following year, the two-time Grammy Award winner said that he’s continuously learning more about his wife — something he can’t get enough of.

"I think how she inspires me is she thinks differently than me. And so it forces you out of just what you think you know, into what don't you know, and to look over in there," he told Us ahead of their 14-year wedding anniversary. “We're kind of in that stage where we have discussions that are intense, a little more than usual.”

"I think what he's saying is that he listens to me and I'm usually right," Yearwood responded.

Over the years, the pair couldn’t help but compliment each other. “I just want to be wherever she's at. I love breathing the same air she's breathing,” the “Long Neck Bottle” crooner told Parade magazine in 2016. In that same interview, she revealed that it’s all about really knowing each other.

“I just think we’re meant to be,” the three-time Grammy Award winner said. “We have a friendship that's a great base for all of it.”

In 2019, Brooks took home the Entertainer of the Year Award at the American Music Awards. They shared a long kiss when he was announced as the winner and at the end of his speech, he couldn’t help but send love to his wife. “I love you Trisha Yearwood,” he yelled.

Scroll through the gallery below for a timeline of their relationship:

First Meeting
Although they met in 1988, the pair were not single at the time. Yearwood was married to Christopher Latham from 1987 to 1991. Chris Gardner/AP/Shutterstock
Doting Dad
Brooks was married to Sandy Mahl from 1986 to 2001. Together, they had three children: Taylor Mayne Pearl, born in 1992, August Anna, born in 1994, and Allie Colleen Brooks, born in 1996. Greg Mathieson/Shutterstock
Friends Only
"I had been married 13 months when I met her. When someone said, ‘What’d you think when I met her?’ I said, ‘I felt like I just met my wife,’ which is weird, right?" Brooks said ahead of his A&E documentary in November 2019. However, they were both married at that time. Gregory Pace/BEI/Shutterstock
A Blossoming Friendship
In 1985, Yearwood began interning for MTM Records while in college and recorded background vocals for artists. Three years later, one of the artists she worked with was Brooks. At the time, he promised her that if he was successful, he'd help her sign her own recording contract. Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Big Break
In 1991, he introduced her to his producer and her career began growing. She sang on his second album, No Fences, and signed a contract. She opened for Brooks that year and her breakout hit, "She's in Love With the Boy," dropped in March 1991. Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
An Item
Yearwood was married to Bobby Reynolds from 1994 to 1999. Meanwhile, Brooks separated from Mahl in 1999; they officially divorced in 2001. He and Yearwood then began a relationship. Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
A Big Surprise
Despite his preference for privacy, Brooks popped the question on stage as he was being honored at Buck Owens' Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, California. "Garth proposed to me and I’m freaking out onstage in front of 7,000 people. But I did say yes," Yearwood told Us exclusively about the proposal in June 2021. "I was very surprised that’s what happened that night." Picture Perfect/Shutterstock

Do Good
The pair have been inseparable since their marriage and love mixing work and home life. In October 2019, they worked together with Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn Carter, for Habitat and Humanity. "That tool belt, that hard hat, everything. She is gorgeous anyway — they call her the nail gun diva — but when she’s in her full sweat and everything and swinging that hammer, yes, she is more than sexy," he told Us. Stuck Together
The couple chose to use the coronavirus pandemic quarantine to strengthen their bond. “We decided to use quarantine as a time to face everything, ‘cause now you can’t leave, you can’t walk away,” Brooks said in a July 2020 press conference. “This is probably, you know, the blessing and the curse. This has probably been the most we’ve ever gone through as a couple, but what’s on the other side is so great especially when you are with the right one.” Courtesy of Garth Brooks/Twitter
Still In Love
Nearly 15 years after they tied the knot, Yearwood gushed about what makes her husband a great partner. "At the end of the day, even when I’m mad at him, [Garth] listens," the "How Do I Live" singer told Us. "Even when I think he’s not listening to me, he is. And he’s kind. He’s very generous and he’s very thoughtful." She added that Brooks still makes an effort to be a gentleman both on and off stage. "He does call me 'Miss Yearwood' at home. And I’m like, ‘Dude, like, we’ve been together for a long time. You can call me Trisha," Yearwood continued. "It’ll just be, like, ‘Miss Yearwood’ or ‘the queen.' And I never asked him to call me the queen. I never asked him to bow. I allow him to, but I don’t ask him. I don’t make him do that." Kevin Wolf/AP/Shutterstock

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis' Hot Romance

Posted: 06 Feb 2022 07:53 AM PST

Another TV couple turned offscreen duo! Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis made That '70s Show fans' dreams come true when they began dating in 2012.

The costars appeared as Michael Kelso and Jackie Burkhart from 1998 to 2006. Kutcher married Demi Moore in September 2005, but their relationship ended six years later. They finalized their divorce in November 2013.

After reconnecting, the Ranch star and Kunis shifted their friendship into a full-fledged romance in 2012. The twosome got engaged in February 2014 and tied the knot in July 2015. In the meantime, they welcomed daughter Wyatt in October 2014 and son Dimitri in November 2016.

"I did a movie called Friends With Benefits. He did a movie that was very similar: No Strings Attached," the actress recalled on the "WTF" podcast in July 2018. "We lived our movies out, where we were like, 'Let's just hook up. Let's have fun. We're both single. We both trust each other. Everything's great.' None of us wanted tension. OK, great. We hooked up for three months. And just like our movies, one of us caught feelings."

Kunis got jealous when Kutcher revealed he was dating someone else. After admitting her realization to him, he asked her to move in with him.

She later pointed out that they forged ahead despite public perception and events from previous relationships. "We went into this relationship super transparent with one another, so we knew 100 percent each other's faults, we knew exactly who we were," she explained on the "Armchair Expert" podcast in July 2018. "And we were like, 'I accept you for who you are.'"

The Bad Moms star noted in August 2018 that their onscreen collaborations were likely in the past. "Probably not going to happen," she confessed on Sunday TODAY With Willie Geist. "I can't look at him and not be like, 'What are you doing?' It's like a weird — no, no, it's weird."

The pair don't deprive their supporters of cute moments, though. "Oh, Mila Kunis, I love you," Kutcher declared during a September 2019 episode of Hot Ones. "If I don't make it out of this, honey, take care of the children."

Kunis proved that love should be fun when she recalled a hilarious Valentine’s Day present gone wrong from her husband. “It’s the thought that counts, guys, and it was such a beautiful thought,” the Bad Moms actress told DeGeneres about Kutcher’s idea to get her two love birds as a pet for the holiday. “I guess [Ashton] called a Petco-like store, and they were like, ‘Yes, come in, we have lover birds,’ and so he walked in and they were like, ’These are love birds,’” Kunis explained, noting that it wasn’t until they went in to get the animal’s nails cut they were informed what type of bird they actually were. “So now we have really beautiful two little Parakeets and one is, like, teal and one is blue. But they’re not love birds.” Christopher Polk/Getty Images for Kershaw's Challenge

Kutcher gushed over Kunis again in September 2019 after ex-wife Moore made shocking revelations about him in her memoir, Inside Out. “We’re very goofy parents when it comes to our children, but that doesn’t [mean we] have skill,” Kunis said on the “Teach Me Something New” podcast. “I think that’s just [us] being idiots. Kunis recalled Kutcher’s hilarious reaction after she brought up her interest in appearing on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in the distant future. “I did ask my husband once. He literally goes like this: ‘Are you watching a porno?’ He was so confused about what was happening.”   The entrepreneur remembered being caught off guard, adding, “I didn’t know what was going on. I’m like, ‘Is there someone else in the bed?’ It was terrifying. You are cheating on me with this show.” NBC

Kunis revealed that Kutcher asks her opinion on which companies he should invest in, but she has given him some bad advice in the past, including to not put their money in Bitcoin or Uber. “This happens nightly. The couple inadvertently kicked off a summer-long debate about celebrity showering habits when Kunis revealed that they don't bathe their kids every day. “I wasn’t that parent that bathed my newborns — ever,” she said during an episode of Dax Shepard's "Armchair Expert" podcast. “Now, here’s the thing: If you can see the dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point.” Within days, celebrities including Jake Gyllenhaal, Kristen Bell, Jason Momoa and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson chimed in to share their own shower routines (or lack thereof).  A few weeks later, the duo acknowledged what they started with an Instagram video that showed them bathing Wyatt and Dimitri. “Are you trying to injure them with water?” the Iowa native joked in the clip. “This is ridiculous. Champs! Every Olympic Medal Team USA Has Won During 2022 Olympics

Posted: 06 Feb 2022 07:27 AM PST

Go team go! Team USA has a long history of winning at the Winter Olympics and the 2022 Beijing Games are no different.

The athletes donning stars and stripes ended the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics with 23 total medals, including nine gold. The country's strong showing put Team USA in the No. 4 spot overall for the most medals at the games.

With seven wins in the snowboarding events — four golds, two silver and one bronze — the U.S. athletes had a lot of hype around them coming into the 2022 competition.

All four of the snowboarding gold medalists — Shaun White, Chloe Kim, Red Gerard and Jamie Anderson — made their way back to the slopes of the China-based Games in February and fans took notice.

"To be going at my fifth time here is pretty spectacular," White, 35, told the Today show hosts after the February 4 opening ceremonies. "It's tough to say goodbye. I've had an amazing run. I'm so thankful for everything I've achieved and I'm ready to pass the torch to the next generation."

The snowboarding legend couldn't wait to hit the slopes in his final Winter Games, saying, "I'm so thankful to be here, feeling healthy. Body's feeling great. I'm ready to put on a performance."

Figure skater Nathan Chen was also prized to take home the gold in men's singles during his second Olympic appearance after landing just off the podium at the 2018 Games.

"It's always been a dream of mine to be able to win a national title, to win a world title, to win an Olympic title," Chen, 22, said in January 2021 via USA Today. "Easier said than done. I thought that I had a chance in 2018 and that didn't happen and I'm able to live with that."

The Yale University student revealed he would "love to be able to win the next Olympics," but wasn't putting too much pressure on taking home a medal.

"If that doesn't happen, it's not like my legacy or who I am is ultimately diminished. I'm still happy with everything that I've done," he added. "I'm proud of everything that I've already accomplished in skating."

Queen Elizabeth II Hopes Camilla Will Be Queen Consort Once Charles Is King

What she wants. As Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Platinum Jubilee — 70 years on the British throne —she opened up about her wishes for the future of the U.K. monarchy.

A Breakdown of the Royal Line of Succession

"When, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me," the sovereign, 95, wrote in a statement, released on Saturday, February 5. "And it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service."

Prince Charles, 73, previously wed the Duchess of Cornwall, 74, in 2005 following his 1996 divorce from the late Princess Diana, with whom he shared sons Prince William and Prince Harry. As the twosome's bond continued to grow upon their nuptials, they remained gracious by the longtime monarch's recent public statement.

"On this historic day, my wife and I join you all in congratulating Her Majesty The Queen on the remarkable achievement of serving this nation, the Realms and Commonwealth for seventy years," Charles and Camilla wrote via a statement on Sunday, February 6. "The Queen's devotion to the welfare of all her people inspires still greater admiration with each passing year."

They added: "We are deeply conscious of the honor represented by my mother's wish. As we have sought together to serve and support Her Majesty and the people of our communities, my darling wife has been my own steadfast support throughout."

Buckingham Palace had previously never confirmed the official title that Camilla would receive as the eventual consort when her partner, the Prince of Wales, takes over as regent. (For his part, late Prince Philip was referred to as a prince consort throughout wife Elizabeth’s reign.)

At the time of the duo's engagement, however, the palace noted that Camilla "should use" the titles of HRH The Princess Consort upon her spouse's accession. (Camilla has widely been referred to as the Duchess of Cornwall while Diana was known as the Princess of Wales following her July 1981 nuptials to Charles.)

"I honestly don't know if Mum will be called queen," Camilla's son, Tom Parker-Bowles, previously told The Times in April 2021. "That hasn't been decided. There are a lot of interesting Sky documentaries about that I'm sure, but I honestly don't know if that's true."

A source previously confirmed to Us Weekly in November 2020 that Elizabeth's heir intended to serve as king with Camilla by his side. "This is something he's dreamed about his entire life — he sees it as his birthright, and Her Majesty would find it extremely difficult to deprive him of that," the insider noted.

Until then, the queen's Jubilee has been marked with a commemorative coin, a British baking competition and a four-day bank holiday in June.

"This anniversary also affords me a time to reflect on the goodwill shown to me by people of all nationalities, faiths and ages in this country and around the world over these years. I would like to express my thanks to you all for your support," Elizabeth concluded her Accession Day message on Saturday. "I remain eternally grateful for, and humbled by, the loyalty and affection that you continue to give me. And so as I look forward to continuing to serve you with all my heart, I hope this Jubilee will bring together families and friends, neighbors and communities – after some difficult times for so many of us – in order to enjoy the celebrations and to reflect on the positive developments in our day-to-day lives that have so happily coincided with my reign."

Prince Harry’s Cutest Moments With the Queen Through the Years

Posted: 06 Feb 2022 06:06 AM PST

Prince Harry' bond with Queen Elizabeth II has remained strong through the years, despite his decision to step away from his senior position within the royal family along with his wife, Meghan Markle.

Despite reports that Harry “blindsided” his grandmother, the prince turned that down during a March 2021 interview on CBS. “I have too much respect for her,” he shared at the time, noting that they discussed the exit three different times before it became public information.

"I've spoken more to my grandmother in the last year than I have done for many, many years," he said during the interview, adding that they’ve Zoomed with her so she could see her grandson Archie. “My grandmother and I have a really good relationship and an understanding. And I have a deep respect for her. She's my Colonel-in-chief, right? She always will be.”

Last year, Prince Charles' former butler, Grant Harrold, spoke about the queen's "very special relationship" with her grandson in a Quest Red royal documentary. Harrold said that the queen is able to "let her guard down a bit with" Harry.

"Sometimes, I wonder if maybe he reminds the Queen a little bit of [her husband] Prince Philip," Harrold continued. "You know, with that wonderful, let's say, the kind of glint in his eye."

Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl gave an inside look at Harry's relationship with Queen Elizabeth in her 2010 book, William and Harry: Behind the Palace Walls. Nicholl revealed that the monarch has been "on the receiving end" of Harry's pranks. She was informed about a prank Harry pulled that involved changing her voicemail recording, giving the queen's private secretary Robin Janvrin the "shock of his life."

Harry, who Nicholl described as "more troublesome" than his brother Prince William, said in the recorded voice message: "Hey, wassup? This is Liz! Sorry, I'm away from the throne. For a hotline to Philip, press one, for Charles press two, for the corgis, press three."

In the 2016 ITV documentary, Our Queen at Ninety, Harry praised the queen for her work over the years. "I look at the Commonwealth and think, 'Look how much it's achieved,'" he said at the time. "She should be incredibly proud of what she's led and what she's achieved and what she's created amongst a huge amount of people from different ethnic backgrounds, different skin colors, different experiences, different islands — whatever it be. Hats off to her, it’s incredible."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced via Instagram on January 8, 2020, that they step down as senior members of the British royal family and "become financially independent." The parents of Archie revealed they have chosen to "carve out a progressive new role" for themselves after "many months of reflection and internal discussions."

In the wake of the pair's joint statement, a source told Us Weekly exclusively that their announcement was made "without the official blessing" of the queen. "It's not that they didn't care — it was a miscommunication," the insider added. Still, Harry and his grandmother have had love and laughs over the years.

Despite the family drama, Harry returned to the U.K. after Philip died in April 2021 and the prince spent time with his grandmother on at least two different occasions during the visit. While he left before her 95th birthday — which came days after the funeral — Elizabeth knew Harry was thinking of her.

"Prince Harry got to say goodbye to the queen before her birthday and he left her a gift and card from him and Meghan," a source told Us at the time.

Queen Elizabeth II's Royal Family Tree

Posted: 06 Feb 2022 06:06 AM PST

Family first. Queen Elizabeth II and the late Prince Philip were the longest-married couple in the history of the British royal family before his April 2021 death, with many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to show for it.

The pair wed in 1947, five years before the queen ascended to the British throne. They welcomed their first child, Prince Charles, who is first in line for the throne, in 1948. Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh also share daughter Anne, Princess Royal, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.

"He has, quite simply, been my strength and stay all these years, and I, and his whole family," Her Majesty said of her husband in November 1997 on the couple's 50th wedding anniversary. "This and many other countries, owe him a debt greater than he would ever claim, or we shall ever know."

As the duo grew in love, so did their family. All four of their children have two kids of their own, with Anne's son, Peter Phillips (born in 1977) and daughter Zara Tindall (1981) becoming the queen's first grandchildren.

Charles then welcomed two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, with ex-wife Princess Diana. Andrew has two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

Edward and his wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex's kids are significantly younger than their cousins, with Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn being born in 2003 and 2007, respectively.

The Queen has continued to cater toward her family while balancing her duties as Sovereign of the United Kingdom. She is especially close with her grandsons William and Harry and has a special bond with William's wife, Duchess Kate.

"She's really taken Kate under her wing," a source told Us Weekly exclusively in April 2019. "The two of them will often spend hours discussing royal life and the future of the monarchy."

A second source said that the Duchess of Cambridge and the queen sometimes "casually catch up over afternoon tea" while other meetings include "intense one-on-one training about taking on the crown."

When Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in July 2020, she wore her grandmother's vintage gown and diamond fringe tiara. The tiara was previously worn by both Her Majesty and Princess Anne on their wedding days.

Eugenie, on the other hand, named her firstborn son, August Philip Hawke, whom she shares with husband Jack Brooksbank, in honor of her grandfather in February 2021.

Although Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped back from their roles as senior royals in January 2020, and have since relocated to California, Elizabeth and Philip tried to maintain their strong relationship with their grandson and his firstborn, Archie.

"The last thing Elizabeth wants is for Harry to feel estranged from his family," a source told Us in March 2020. A second source added that Harry "feels terrible about hurting his grandmother, whom he adores" because of his family's decisions. A third source revealed in February 2021 that the queen FaceTimes with Archie and is "desperate" to give him a hug.

In June 2021, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced the arrival of their second child, daughter Lili, whose name is a nod to the queen.

Scroll down for a look at four generations of Queen Elizabeth II's royal family tree.

In April 2021, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Philip "passed away peacefully" at the age of 99, one month after being discharged from his 28-day hospital stay. "The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss. Further announcements will be made in due course," the palace noted.    Getty Images

Royal Family's Most Heartwarming Quotes About Queen Elizabeth II

Posted: 06 Feb 2022 06:03 AM PST

One of a kind! Queen Elizabeth II has been the head of the British royal family since 1952 — and her devotion to her country has become an inspiration for her loved ones through the years.

After her father, King George VI, died in 1952, a then-25-year-old Elizabeth inherited his place on the throne. Her coronation occurred the following year. As one of the longest-reigning royals in history, the queen became the first British monarch to reach a Sapphire Jubilee, which she celebrated in 2017 after 65 years as the leader of the Commonwealth.

Through several decades of her reign, Elizabeth had her husband, Prince Philip, by her side. The duo exchanged vows in November 1947 and went on to become the longest-married royal couple until the Duke of Edinburgh’s death in April 2021.

Elizabeth and her husband shared four children — Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Princess Anne — along with eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Charles’ sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, have always been fond of their grandmother, as has Andrew’s youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie. Following Philip’s death, Eugenie promised to “look after” her beloved “Granny” in a heartfelt tribute to her late grandfather.

In March 2020, Harry stepped away from his senior royal duties and moved to California with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their son, Archie, who was born in May 2019. The move came as a shock to plenty inside the palace, but the couple did their best to remain on good terms with the monarch.

“They have kept a great relationship with Philip and the queen,” royal expert Omid Scobie told Entertainment Tonight in March 2021 as the Sussexes prepared for their CBS tell-all.

When the sit-down interview aired, Harry reiterated that he’ll “always” love his grandmother no matter how many miles are between them.

“I’ve spoken more to my grandmother in the last year than I have done for many, many years,” he said at the time, adding that he and Elizabeth have been able to reach “an understanding” since his royal exit.

Since Harry and Meghan decided to depart from their palace roles, the queen has had many a “heart-to-heart” with her grandson. “The last thing Elizabeth wants is for Harry to feel estranged from his family,” a source previously told Us Weekly exclusively.

Keep scrolling for a look back at some of the royal family’s sweetest quotes about their matriarch:

Doting Grandsons
Harry and William gave rare insight into what it's like to be raised in the royal family during a 2012 interview with Katie Couric. "Behind closed doors, she's our grandmother, it's as simple as that," Harry said, while his older brother teased, "As I learned from growing up, you don't mess with your grandmother." Shutterstock
Royal Role Model
Charles famously joked of his introduction to official royal life, "I learned the way a monkey learns: by watching its parents." Shutterstock
Style Icon
Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's youngest daughter has a close bond with her dear "Granny," who she frequently visits at the royal family's Balmoral estate in Scotland. "I think Granny is the most happy there, I think she really, really loves the Highlands," Eugenie said in ITV's 2016 documentary, Our Queen at 90. The queen was also "one of the very few people" who were the first to learn of Eugenie's engagement to her now-husband, Jack Brooksbank, and is a fashion inspiration for the princess. "Lots of my friends say, 'Oh, she's just the best style person there is, you know she looks great in her clothes,'" she previously told Tatler. "The style is something that is very unique to her."   Shutterstock
In Her Good Graces
Zara Tindall said her grandmother was never stern with her. "I always get the good look," she joked during an episode of husband Mike Tindall's "House of Rugby" podcast in 2019. Shutterstock
Harry’s Pride
Though he stepped back from his senior royal duties in March 2020, the Duke of Sussex has never stopped holding his grandmother in high regard. "Being able to serve Queen and Country is something we all are rightly proud of, and it never leaves us," he said in one of his final 2020 engagements at the Endeavour Fund Awards at Mansion House in London. "Once served, always serving." Insiders have previously told Us that Harry "adores" the queen. During his tell-all interview with his wife in March 2021, the former military pilot asserted that he will always have "deep respect" for the matriarch. "I've spoken more to my grandmother in the last year than I have done for many, many years," he said at the time. "My grandmother and I have a really good relationship and an understanding. ... She's my Colonel-in-chief, right? She always will be." Shutterstock (2)
Connecting With Meghan
"The queen, for example, has always been wonderful to me," Meghan told CBS in March 2021 while reflecting on her time as a senior royal. "I mean, we had one of our first joint engagements together. She asked me to join her, and I went on the train. And we had breakfast together that morning and she gave me a beautiful gift and I just really loved being in her company." The Suits alum recalled being given "some beautiful pearl earrings and a matching necklace" from her grandmother-in-law. "We were in the car going between engagements," she added. "And she has a blanket that sits across her, her knees, for warmth and it was chilly and she was like, 'Meghan, come on,' and put it over my knees as well." Shutterstock
Motherly Love
Sarah Ferguson praised her ex mother-in-law in August 2021 for always being her “greatest mentor” even after she split from Prince Andrew in 1996. "I think to myself that honestly, my mother-in-law has been more of a mother to me than my mother," she said during an episode of the “Tea With Twiggy” podcast. "I absolutely admire the incredible way Her Majesty is so modern. And how flexible, and how understanding, and how forgiving and how generous. I absolutely think there is no greater mentor. The consistency of Her Majesty has been a great honor. A huge honor. Makes me want to cry.” Shutterstock (2)

The monarch, 95, succeeded to the British crown on February 6, 1952, following the death of her father, King George VI. Seventy years later, Elizabeth is having a bittersweet celebration of her Platinum Jubilee on Sunday, February 6, per Pearce.

"This is an unusual time for her because she is about to remember [and] commemorate 70 years of her father’s departure. And she had a very, very close connection, a very close relationship with her father," the Diana the Voice of Change author explains, noting that the queen will take in the occasion at Sandringham surrounded by loved ones. "It will be a time of great memory for her."

Her majesty is "gathered by the younger members of the family, particularly of course, [Duchess] Kate and [Prince] William‘s children, whom she loves," Pearce adds.

The monumental day will include "quiet time on Sunday, but at the same time, she'll be celebrating in memory of her late father and Prince Philip," the inspirational speaker tells Us, pointing out that the queen's late husband Philip was an "extraordinary stalwart in her life."

Happiness will also be in high supply as she kicks off her Platinum Jubilee year, according to Pearce, who notes that the "whole family" will most likely not be in attendance, but William, 39, and Kate, 40, who live "very close by" should be on site to toast the monarch.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to join the queen alongside their three children, Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3.

Her majesty "loves being with the innocent ones. She loves being with the children. It reminds her of those powerful motors that work through her, you know, the whole idea of heritage tradition and legacy," Pearce tells Us.

Ultimately, Elizabeth is "very exhilarated by the extraordinary nature of the fact that this is the 70th year of her monarchy, of her reign," he adds.

The queen is the longest reigning monarch in the world, which is why her Platinum Celebration will last more than one day. In January, Buckingham Palace announced a nation-wide cooking competition to create a Jubilee Pudding in honor of the occasion, which kicked off the official festivities.

Come June, there will be a four-day weekend packed with activities to officially mark the queen's long reign. The annual Trooping the Colour parade on June 2 will start the bank holiday weekend. The event will end with a special Royal Air Force flyby that the royal family will watch from the balcony of Buckingham Palace — and that's just day one of the celebration.

Her next big role is as a mom! Jackie Cruz exclusively invited Us Weekly to experience a day in her life while soaking up the sun in Mexico during her pregnancy.

The actress — who fans might recognize as Flaca from Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black — announced in December 2021 that she is expecting twins with her husband, musician Fernando Garcia. The pair said “I do” at their Mexico wedding in August 2020.

“In the middle of Braxton Hicks contractions,” Cruz told followers in a Monday, January 31, Instagram video that showed her dancing through the pain. “First false alarm. Babies coming soon.”

Before the discomfort started, the mom- and dad-to-be enjoyed some bonding time in Garcia’s native country. They made sure to start their day with some positive affirmations and had plenty of delicious snacks to satisfy Cruz’s fruit cravings.
