Jason Is Still 'Madly in Love' With Chrishell, 'Selling Sunset' Costars Say Posted: 03 Feb 2022 03:18 PM PST Selling shock! Mary Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet were totally thrown by Selling Sunset costar Jason Oppenheim‘s split from Chrishell Stause. “I was surprised,” Mary, 40, told Us Weekly exclusively of the former couple during a joint interview with her husband, 28, on Thursday, February 3, noting that Jason, 44, is still “madly in love” with the Dancing With the Stars alum, 40. “It’s sad because I love them together.” The Oppenheim Group cofounder and the soap opera actress went public with their romance in July 2021 during a group getaway with some of their Netflix castmates. By the end of the year, however, Us confirmed the pair called it quits. ![]() At the time, Jason revealed that he and Chrishell “have different wants regarding a family,” writing via Instagram in December 2021, “While Chrishell and I are no longer together, we remain best friends we will always love and support one another. She was the most amazing girlfriend I’ve ever had, and it was the happiest and most fulfilling relationship of my life.” The Kentucky native later confirmed that her desire to start a family was the reason for the pair’s split, noting in a social media statement of her own, “Men have the luxury of time that women don’t and that’s just the way it goes.” She concluded: “And thank you Jason for the most incredible relationship and for consistently being honest with me even when it hurts.” Mary, who previously dated the California native before marrying Romain in October 2019, told Us on Thursday that she was aware of Jason’s hesitation about becoming a father. ![]() “I know that [Jason] was going back and forth because kids — to him — that’s something, I mean, he’s never wanted,” she said, adding that she was “shocked” to see him possibly reconsidering his stance. “I think he was trying to make sure, like, that [he had] an option if he was able to get himself on board with it. … [But] he just realized it’s not for him.” Romain chimed in: “He loved [Chrishell] so much. … I think that, in his head, it was like, ‘Yeah, I think I could [have kids] because of the way I feel [about her].'” The real estate agent noted that Jason “doesn’t do anything lightly,” and recalled him asking “strangers” about their kids “every place he would go” to get advice. “I think, at the end of the day, he didn’t feel it was right,” Mary continued. “But they’re mutually OK with it. They’re still really good friends. And I think they would wish it would’ve worked out because they both love each other very, very much, but they just want different things as far as a family life.” Chrishell, who finalized her divorce from Justin Hartley in January 2021, has been candid in the past about wanting to be a parent. She revealed last year that she was in the process of freezing her eggs, which Jason was “a little bit” involved in, according to Romain. As things began to get more serious, the reality of possibly having children sunk in. “He never misled her, like, ‘OK, this is definitely happening,'” Mary clarified. “But they were putting it in place, and he was on board because, you know, of age. There’s a time limit on how long she’s got. … He’s not going to be ready in her timeframe. He wishes he could though.” While Mary said her boss felt “heartbroken” over the pair’s disagreement, the France native told Us that he’d love to see the exes get on the same page. “But at the end of the day, they split for the good of each other because he knew couldn’t give her what she wanted,” Romain said. “And she knew that he couldn’t give it to her. … So, even though they love [each other] so much, at the end of the day, they [couldn’t make it work].” With reporting by Christina Garibaldi |
'90 Day Fiance' Alum Geoffrey Paschel Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison Posted: 03 Feb 2022 03:05 PM PST ![]() Nearly four months after his conviction for multiple crimes, 90 Day Fiancé alum Geoffrey Paschel was sentenced to 18 years in prison without possibility of parole. The former reality star, 44, received his sentence on Thursday, February 3, during a court appearance in Knoxville, Tennessee. He had been held in custody since October 2021, when he was found guilty of aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault and interference with emergency calls. Paschel was arrested after a June 2019 incident involving his ex-fiancée, Kristen Wilson. After police responded to a domestic disturbance, Wilson told officers that Paschel assaulted her in her home. He allegedly grabbed her by the neck and slammed her head against a wall several times, then threw her to the floor and dragged her. Wilson claimed that the TLC personality took her cell phone and refused to let her leave the house, but she escaped to a neighbor’s place once Paschel was asleep. After the incident, Wilson was diagnosed with a concussion, and officers reported seeing bruises and abrasions on her body. During the trial, Paschel claimed that Wilson’s injuries were self-inflicted. Paschel appeared on season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, which aired in 2020. He got engaged to Varya Malina on the show, but he was not asked to attend the tell-all taping because of his legal issues. "I'm not sad that I wasn't on it," he said during an Instagram Live in June 2020. "The mentality of keeping me off the tell-all because somebody said something is the most absurd thing I've ever heard in my life. … I want my court case to be over with, and as soon as my court case is over with, then my life will proceed." Malina, 33, hasn’t confirmed whether she and Paschel are still together, but she was present at his sentencing on Thursday. She has also kept in touch with him throughout his incarceration, sharing updates about his needs with her social media followers. “Last night while talking on the phone Geo mentioned that he's using this time now to finally slow down and reevaluate what's important in his life and focus on it,” the Russia native wrote via Instagram in December 2021. “He always sees positive aspects in everything that happens in his life. We are so alike in this exact way.” That same month, the wedding planner responded to a follower who asked why she wouldn’t confirm whether she and Paschel had gotten married. “This is a great question,” she said in an Instagram video. “And the answer is that I am annoying.” In a written caption, she added, “I still can't and have zero desire to discuss the legal case.” If you or someone you know are experiencing domestic violence, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 for confidential support. |
RHONJ’s Jennifer Aydin Is ‘Glad’ She Stayed With Husband Bill After Affair Posted: 03 Feb 2022 01:59 PM PST ![]() Forgive and forget. Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jennifer Aydin reflected on her marriage to husband Bill Aydin after his past affair became public. “I'm glad I stayed … and forgave,” the Bravo star, 44, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, February 3, alongside a throwback photo of her family. During the Tuesday, February 1, premiere of RHONJ, costar Margaret Josephs revealed that she knew about Bill’s previous infidelity. Ahead of season 12, Jennifer exclusively told Us Weekly that she kept the information under wraps for “the greater good” of her family — and that she has “no idea” how it was uncovered. “I thought nobody would ever find out. … I never told anybody,” Jennifer explained. “Nobody knew — [not] my mother, my sister, my best friend, my cousin. Like, when I say I was taking it to the grave, I kept that secret inside.” The couple met in 2001 and tied the knot one year later. They share five children: son Justin, daughter Gabby, son Jacob, son Christian and daughter Olivia. Jennifer confessed that she learned about Bill’s infidelity “days” before Christian, now 11, was born and decided to keep the secret for the benefit of her kids. “I wanted to go through the motions of playing this game of life, so to speak, to try to put on a brave face for my children,” she told Us, adding that her kids have since been made aware of the plastic surgeon’s affair. “Because I wasn't nasty towards him and we were playing the role of this happy family life — and of course, he was so remorseful and, you know, always petting me, trying to kiss [and] care [for] me — after a while I was just like, 'You know what? Let's just pretend this never happened.' And that's what I did.” Since Jennifer joined the Real Housewives franchise in 2018, she and Bill have dealt with a great deal of speculation about their relationship. During a January 2019 episode, Margaret, 54, alleged that her costar’s marriage was on the rocks and that Bill was “sleeping in the pool house.” At the time, Jennifer fired back, “My husband doesn't sleep in the pool house, honey. I'm secure in my marriage, so it doesn't bother me where the f–k he sleeps.” The Macbeth Collection designer, for her part, explained earlier this month that she didn’t want to hurt her castmate by outing Bill’s affair. Instead, she simply wanted to point out Jennifer’s “hypocrisy” on the show. “I was like, 'You're not honest and you're not honest with everybody.' And it's bad. And I think that's why I had said it,” Margaret told Page Six on Thursday. “Listen, I didn't want to cut her to the core, and I did not want to hurt Bill. That's not what the intention was.” The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. |
Khloe Kardashian Has a Strong Reaction to Harry Jowsey Dating Rumors Posted: 03 Feb 2022 01:44 PM PST ![]() Not so fast! Khloé Kardashian is setting the record straight on her current relationship status amid Harry Jowsey romance rumors. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum, 37, clapped back after a Kardashian fan account posted a rumor about her and the Too Hot to Handle star, 24, chatting via Instagram on Thursday, February 3. The account shared an alleged message from a fan who claimed that the Good American cofounder was recently "talking" and "DM-ing back and forth" with the Australia native. The post alleged on Wednesday, February 2, that Jowsey "picked up a Bentley and flowers just to deliver them to her house." Kardashian, however, denied the claims, commenting on the post, "ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE." The romance speculation came eight months after Us Weekly confirmed that the Revenge Looks Better Naked author split from Tristan Thompson for good. The pair, who share 3-year-old daughter True, were on and off since 2016. The exes made headlines in December 2021 when news broke that Maralee Nichols was suing the former Cleveland Cavaliers player, 30, for child support after claiming he fathered her child in March of that year. Us later exclusively revealed that Nichols gave birth to a baby boy on December 1. One month later, Thompson confirmed that he was the father of the fitness model's child. "Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son," the Canada native wrote via his Instagram Story in January. The NBA player — who is also the father of 5-year-old son Prince, whom he shares with ex Jordan Craig — apologized to Kardashian as he was dating her at the time of conception. "Khloé, you don't deserve this," Thompson added. "You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years." A source exclusively told Us later that month that Kardashian was "doing well" in wake of the scandal. "[Khloé] is stronger this time around when it comes to Tristan," the insider said. "Since she has been hurt by him before, she's hardened and is not as sad and torn up about it this time." Jowsey, for his part, previously dated Francesca Farago for one year after meeting while filming Too Hot to Handle in March 2019. Farago, 29, announced their breakup in June 2020 via an emotional video. The Netflix star was briefly linked to Larsa Pippen in October 2020 before seemingly rekindling his relationship with Farago in May 2021. At the time, the duo shared photos from the same Mexican resort as Jowsey celebrated his birthday, causing fans to think they were back together. The "Tap In With Harry Jowsey" podcast host exclusively told Us in June 2021 that he was single after briefly reuniting with his ex, saying, "We tried to give it another go, but [there was] just clear miscommunication on lot fronts. … I can tell you now [until] forever [that] I'll never be put in a relationship or put myself in that situation again." In December 2021, Jowsey posted a series of photos with a mystery woman. On Thursday, he added fuel to speculation that he had a new lady in his life, sharing snaps of flowers and a Bentley. |
RHONJ’s Jennifer and Bill Aydin’s Relationship Timeline Posted: 03 Feb 2022 12:35 PM PST Immune to the curse? Jennifer Aydin and Bill Aydin are one of the rare couples who have been able to survive reality TV, but their marriage is not perfect. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star and the plastic surgeon met at a wedding in September 2001, and after hitting it off, they tied the knot one year later. They went on to welcome five children: son Justin, daughter Gabby, son Jacob, son Christian and daughter Olivia. The pair's relationship was put under a microscope in 2018 when Jennifer joined season 9 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Over their years in the spotlight, the reality star and Bill faced cheating rumors and criticism from her fellow Housewives. Margaret Josephs, for instance, once told Jennifer that her biggest accomplishment was "marrying rich." "It's so funny because people think they know so much. My husband didn't have money when I married him. I mean, his parents supported him and he was a resident when I met him. So, I didn't marry him for his money," Jennifer exclusively told Us Weekly in February 2020. "I mean, obviously I knew he was going to have a good future. I married him to get in his pants, not his wallet, people." The TV personality also pointed out that she is partly responsible for her husband's success. "My husband is tall, dark, handsome, educated, [elegant], classy. He opens the door for me, but that's what you give him credit for," she noted. "The money is a plus and a perk, but we built that together. When he was doing his residency, he asked me what field to go into and he took my advice, and I said, 'Plastics,' because I felt that plastics would be less stressful." The duo's solid foundation has helped them stick together through tough times, including when issues from their past resurfaced during season 12 of RHONJ. "[Bill] didn't shy away from talking about it because he knew that it was important to me," Jennifer told E! News in January 2022. "If there's one thing that I do wanna be known for on the show, it is about my honesty. It's about the brutal honesty on how hard it is. It's hard to show the dirty laundry that's going on in my family. I mean, it's not hard for me. I always tell people it's my gift. But it's hard for me to expect my family members and loved ones to be OK with it." Miranda Lambert Celebrates 3-Year Anniversary With 'Sunshine' Husband Posted: 03 Feb 2022 11:50 AM PST Not wasting any time! Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin tied the knot in January 2019 after a whirlwind two-and-a-half-month courtship. The nuptials came amid turmoil in the police officer's personal life stemming from past relationships. Before the country singer's wedding to McLoughlin, she was married to Blake Shelton from May 2011 to July 2015. News of his ex-wife's second marriage came as a shock to the Voice coach. "Blake found [out] about the wedding at the same time as everyone else did," a source told Us Weekly in February 2019, shortly after Lambert announced her new relationship status. Shelton, who has since moved on with Gwen Stefani, mentioned to the No Doubt singer that "the timing of Miranda's announcement of the marriage was certainly curious," according to an insider. However, "just because Miranda got married in a quickie situation doesn't change anything for Gwen and Blake." McLoughlin has a complicated past too. The New York City police officer got another woman pregnant while cheating on his fiancée, Jackie Bruno, his ex's mother, Carol Bruno, claimed in February 2019. "[Brendan] tried to deny it and then begged her to stay with him," she told Us at the time. "She was only going [abroad] for a few months to play [soccer], he was begging her to marry him before she left, even though he knew the girl was pregnant." McLoughlin welcomed a son with Kaihla Rettinger in November 2018, days after he met Lambert for the first time. The Grammy winner previously made headlines for getting close to musician Evan Felker while she was still in a relationship with Anderson East. Two weeks after Lambert split from East in April 2018, Us confirmed that she had moved on with Felker, who was still married to Staci Felker at the time. The duo divorced in August 2018 but later reconciled, welcoming their first child in 2021. Lambert has a history of moving fast in relationships, but she explained that her pace with McLoughlin was actually beneficial for the duo. "We didn't date very long before we got married. And so we sort of got to just really, really, really get to know each other," she said during a SiriusXM interview in February 2021. "It was just us two with no distraction, at my farm outside of Nashville. And so I was really thankful for it because it made us really strong." John Mellencamp Is 'Proud' of Teddi for 'CBB' — But Doesn't Know What It Is Posted: 03 Feb 2022 11:20 AM PST ![]() Gigantic dad energy. John Mellencamp congratulated his daughter Teddi Mellencamp on her new job, but he can’t seem to recall what it is. “A television show that Teddi is on premieres tonight,” the rocker, 70, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, February 2, alongside a photo of himself with the reality star, 40, and her daughters Slate, 9, and Dove, 23 months. “I don't know what she's doing, but I'm proud of her and hope she achieves her goals.” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum is one of the contestants on season 3 of Celebrity Big Brother, which premiered Wednesday on CBS. Her father may not be totally sure what the show is about, but the “Teddi Tea Pod” podcast host is already thinking about strategy. “I have been told by, like, fanatics of Big Brother not to win the first competition, as if that’s just like gonna be effortless for me to win,” the Indiana native told Us Weekly ahead of the season premiere. “However, I just don’t think I could do that. I think I have to play every single game with my full heart.” If any challenges involve math, however, all bets are off. “Code red,” she joked. “Let’s just say I struggle helping my son do his first-grade math.” In addition to Slate and Dove, Teddi shares son Cruz, 7, with husband Edwin Arroyave. She is also a stepmom to Isabella, 13, her husband’s daughter from a previous relationship. ![]() Ahead of the Celebrity Big Brother premiere, host Julie Chen Moonves told Us that she thinks Teddi could be a “dark horse” of the season, which also stars Lamar Odom, Chris Kirkpatrick, Todrick Hall, Carson Kressley, Todd Bridges, Shanna Moakler, Mirai Nagasu, Cynthia Bailey, Miesha Tate and Chris Kattan. “If you watch her on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — and my stepdaughter does and she's a fan of Teddi's — I think she's someone who I've been told is very likable, and I think likable can get you very far,” the Talk alum, 52, explained. For her part, however, Moonves is “pulling for” Bridges, 56. “I loved him on Diff'rent Strokes. And I'll just leave it at that,” she told Us. “I don't know if he's gonna be good at this game, if he's gonna get along with others and do well in competitions, but my heart is rooting for Todd Bridges.” Celebrity Big Brother airs on CBS multiple nights a week. It is also available to stream via Paramount+. |
Kanye West and Julia Fox’s Relationship Timeline Posted: 03 Feb 2022 11:03 AM PST Forming a bond in an unexpected place. Nearly one year after Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West, the musician publicly moved on with Julia Fox. West, who married Kardashian in 2014, was linked to Irina Shayk and model Vinetria before he celebrated New Year’s Eve with Fox. The Gotham Awards nominee, for her part, was married to Peter Artemiev before meeting the songwriter. Shortly after West and Fox were spotted together in January 2022, Us Weekly confirmed that the pilot filed for divorce from the actress two years prior. The exes welcomed a son six months after their divorce proceedings were finalized in July 2020. Fox previously opened up about the ups and downs in her relationship with her ex, referring to Artemiev as a “deadbeat dad” in December 2021. “This man left me with a 5 month old and a dog and a home and ALL THE BILLS. It's wrong!!! It's not fair," Fox claimed in an Instagram Story. "He 1000 percent intentionally got me pregnant, It's a blessing. I'm happy about it. I would not change it.” Artemiev denied the accusations, telling Page Six in a statement, "I was saddened to learn of the utterly false statements made on social media by Julia Fox, my coparent, who is clearly struggling. Out of respect for her privacy and to protect our child, I will not comment further." While speaking to The Cut, Fox apologized for bringing up her issues with her ex on social media. “My son's father and I had our issues and I wanted to scare him into being a better dad, but I went about it the wrong way,” she explained at the time. “My son's dad loves his son more than anything in the world. He just has some issues that I shouldn't have made public." One month later, Fox confirmed that she started dating West — who swept her off her feet with one-of-a-kind experiences. “I mean, I’m still in shock,” she wrote in a post for Interview in January 2022. “Ye had an entire hotel suite full of clothes. It was every girl’s dream come true. It felt like a real Cinderella moment. I don’t know how he did it, or how he got all of it there in time. But I was so surprised. Like, who does things like this on a second date? Or any date!” The artist gushed about her “organic” courtship with West, saying, “I don’t know where things are headed but if this is any indication of the future, I’m loving the ride.” The Puppet star later shared her thoughts on how she became the Chicago native’s "muse." "You know, I'm so used to being f—ked over in relationships, so I keep waiting for him to disappoint me because he makes very grandiose promises, and it's like, 'How could he ever pull it off with all the other things he has going on?' But he always does," Fox told Interview that same month. "Right now, the vibes I'm getting are very much about tolerance, kindness, and love. I'm canceling cancel culture and putting an end to this black-and-white thinking. People shouldn't be defined by their darkest moment. As humans, we commit violence to each other, we police each other. We've created such a hostile environment, especially on the internet." "His energy is so fun to be around," the actress said shortly after their outings made headlines. "He had me and my friends laughing, dancing and smiling all night. We decided to keep the energy going and fly back to New York City to see Slave Play. Ye's flight landed at six and the play was at seven and he was there ON TIME. I was impressed." She continued: "After the play we chose to do dinner at Carbone which is one of my favorite restaurants. Obviously. At the restaurant, Ye directed an entire photo shoot for me while people dined! The whole restaurant loved it and cheered us on while it was happening." Fox also addressed talk about her romance with West happening "so quickly," saying, "I’m going with the universe and the flow and seeing where it takes me." Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock; Stephen Lovekin/Shutterstock ![]() After Fox and West publicly packed on the PDA one day after Kardashian's date night with Pete Davidson, the Italy native shut down claims that her relationship was a PR stunt. "I feel like, to the people who know us both personally, like, all the people that we have in common, like, friends in common, have texted me like, 'Oh, my God, this makes so much sense,'" Fox shared on the "Forbidden Fruits" podcast in January 2022. "There's always people that think every single celebrity scandal is a setup. I personally don't." For the No Sudden Move star, her new connection with West came from a "meta" place. "Listen, for right now, I'm just living in the moment and I don't have any expectations — there's no labels, none of that. It's just people that make each other feel better," she said at the time. "We were all connected, like even prior. You know what I mean? We're all artists." Shutterstock (2) ![]() In January 2022, Fox recalled how her romance with West included him offering input into her wardrobe. “My transformation [was the wildest thing he created for me]. After meeting him, a couple days later, all my s—t was in boxes, gone. It was so cathartic,” she told Interview. “It wasn’t like I was just packing up my old clothes, it was like I was packing up my old life. I was like making that very conscious decision to really put everything in the box. To let go of the past.” Even though Fox considered herself "such a control freak," she found the process refreshing. “I’ve been the primary caretaker of everyone for so long, so it’s a new sensation, but honestly, I think I deserve it. Even a month ago, I was so f—king like not getting along with my son’s father or not having help. It was just me alone. I was so tired and everything was work," she added. "And then a few days later there I am with Ye, and it was the most instant natural organic attraction and connection. I just feel really safe with him. It’s a redemption story.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() "It's funny cause I'm getting all of this attention, but I really couldn't care," Fox said on the January 21, 2022, episode of her "Forbidden Fruits" podcast. She claimed that West wasn't her first beau with a high net worth, adding, "People are like 'Oh, you're only in it for the fame, you're in it for the clout, you're in it for the money.' Honey, I've dated billionaires my entire adult life, let's keep it real." Fox would prefer people pay attention to her work. "Watch my movie, read my book," she added. "That is more thrilling to me now than eyes on me. I couldn't care less." Shutterstock (2) ![]() The "Jesus Walks" rapper made his first public appearance with Fox on January 22, 2022 in Paris. Inside Julia Fox’s ‘Cozy’ 32nd Birthday Celebration With Kanye West Posted: 03 Feb 2022 11:00 AM PST ![]() It's her party! Kanye West helped Julia Fox ring in her 32nd birthday with a New York City soiree. The actress celebrated with the rapper, 44, and friends at French restaurant Lucien on Wednesday, February 2. "It was a great time," a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. "Kanye and Julia were looking cozy with [their] arms wrapped around one another." Attendees, including models Richie Shazam and Paloma Elsesser, musician Zola Moon and playwright Jeremy O. Harris, were invited to an afterparty following dinner. According to the insider, the couple "took the guests to an unfinished storefront next door, where they partied all night listening to music via a DEWALT construction boom box." Fox was also showered with presents in honor of her special day. She received "multiple Birkin bags" as well as "a red box by designer Thermal Taveras, who gifted her exclusive items from his brand." The Italy native was later seen showing West the jewelry inside the box. The Grammy winner met the Uncut Gems star on New Year's Eve in Miami. "It was an instant connection. His energy is so fun to be around," she told Interview magazine in January. "He had me and my friends laughing, dancing and smiling all night." Fox denied later that month that her romance with West was a "PR stunt," insisting on the "Forbidden Fruits" podcast: "There's always people that think every single celebrity scandal is a setup. I personally don't. Listen, for right now, I'm just living in the moment and I don't have any expectations — there's no labels, none of that. It's just people that make each other feel better." The model credited the musician with helping her move on from her past. "My transformation [was the wildest thing he created for me]. After meeting him, a couple days later, all my s–t was in boxes, gone. It was so cathartic," she told Interview in January. "It wasn't like I was just packing up my old clothes, it was like I was packing up my old life. I was, like, making that very conscious decision to really put everything in the box. To let go of the past." Amid his romance with Fox, West has been involved in drama with estranged wife Kim Kardashian, who filed for divorce in February 2021 after six years of marriage. In January, he dissed the 41-year-old reality star's boyfriend, Pete Davidson, in a song and claimed that he was not invited to daughter Chicago's 4th birthday party. (The duo are also parents of daughter North, 8, and sons Saint, 6, and Psalm, 2.) The ordeal has not had a negative effect on Kardashian's romance with Davidson, 28, though. "It's not impacting their relationship at all," an insider told Us last month. "If anything, this drama is bringing Kim and Pete closer together because he makes things so easy." Tyler Cameron: How I'm Dating Differently After ‘Bachelorette,’ Camila Split Posted: 03 Feb 2022 10:59 AM PST After making a splash in Bachelor Nation, Tyler Cameron is used to making headlines for his love life — but he's taking a different approach in 2022. "Slow down!" the 29-year-old Real Dirty Dancing star exclusively told Us Weekly with a laugh on Tuesday, February 1, when asked what he's learned about dating in recent years. "[On] The Bachelorette, you grow so fast in that relationship, like, you have to. And I think it kind of pushed me and my other relationships to kind of want to grow so fast and it’s OK to slow down and take a breath. [That's] something I have to work on and get better at. But yeah, slow down for sure." After finishing as the runner-up on Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette in 2019 — and nearly rekindling their romance post-show — Cameron was briefly linked to Gigi Hadid. More recently, he dated Camila Kendra for eight months, calling it quits in August 2021. "The love life update? Well, my dog is here and we’re having a good time together and that’s about as good as my love life has ever gotten," he told Us on Tuesday. "There’s no love life update here." When asked whether he's actively looking for a relationship or on dating apps, Cameron added, "If it comes, it comes. That’s kind of how it hit me last time. That’s how I like it to happen. … I’m in no rush right now. I’m so busy, so focused and excited for this [year] — it's gonna be a big year. I feel it, it’s gonna be good." The general contractor kicked off 2022 on Fox's The Real Dirty Dancing, partnering with Loni Love to try to win the title as the ultimate "Johnny" and "Baby" as they recreate scenes and dates from the 1987 film. "I'd do this a hundred times over. This is just so much fun and so light and so easy," he told Us about the differences between filming the competition show and The Bachelorette. "We literally had fun for 18 days. I had fun on The Bachelorette — don’t get me wrong, I had a great time — but there’s definitely some more serious times and some aggravating times. Here, we just were dancing. And the only time we ever would get nervous is, like, eliminations 'cause no one wanted to go home. We wanted to stay in summer camp." Overall, Cameron told Us that his goals for the year included being a healthier person and spending more time with his family. "I want to help my family get healthier as well," he said. "I want to succeed in my new construction endeavors. I’m building four houses right now … I wanna sell those and keep growing and keep going." Cameron, who is close to his father and brothers, lost his mother in 2020. He dedicated his performance on The Real Dirty Dancing to his late parent. "It was definitely emotional to see [and] every time you see it, you relive it and you’re like, 'Damn, I just wish she was here right now,'" he told Us. "But my Nana is like, 'She is here, and you are making her proud and she’s watching this. I know she is, and she’s loving it.' I know she’d be having a ball watching this. We just try and honor her, and like I always say, 'Make mama proud.'" The Real Dirty Dancing airs on Fox Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. |
Puppy Parents! Ben Higgins and Wife Jessica Welcome New Dog Waylon Posted: 03 Feb 2022 10:41 AM PST Ben Higgins may have given his final rose to Lauren Bushnell, but he found lasting love with Jessica Clarke. Bachelor Nation first met Higgins when he competed for Kaitlyn Bristowe's heart on season 11 of The Bachelorette. After finishing in third place, ABC named the Colorado native the season 20 Bachelor. Higgins subsequently got down on one knee and proposed to Bushnell during the March 2016 finale. The duo, who landed their own spinoff, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?, called it quits in May 2017. "I would say the joy that we felt toward our relationship at the beginning was — for some reason — slipping away," Higgins revealed on his "Almost Famous" podcast at the time. "And we were both working very hard to bring that joy back. And it just never seemed to get there. So it was a long time coming but it wasn't necessarily like we dragged it out. … It's hard to say goodbye to somebody that you spent so much time with and it's hard to say goodbye to somebody that you really did believe was The One." While Higgins returned to reality TV to compete on The Bachelor: Winter Games in 2018, he quit the spinoff without a love connection. By the end of that year, however, Higgins met Clarke through Instagram. "She's a very kind, pure, emphatic and supportive person in general. And she's not only like that to me. I'm part of that, but she's like that to everybody around her," Higgins gushed to Us in April 2019. "She challenges me to be more empathetic, more loving, more caring, more kind as well. So I'm very happy." The pair’s relationship got serious quick. "We're great. It's fun. It's just healthy … I think she would say the same. Our relationship is healthy," Higgins told Us in January 2020. "I'm a better version of myself, a more free version of myself than I've been in a while." Higgins proposed to Clarke in March 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee. "From my first date in life to the moments in between they all led me to getting down on one knee in front of you @jessclarke_," he wrote at the time via Instagram. "This weekend I asked Jessica to give me the honor of being her partner for life. She said YES! I now officially have the most beautiful, kind-hearted, supportive, well-intentioned person to spend life with! Our adventurous ride through life together is just starting." Hey friends meet @jessclarke_!” Higgins wrote on February 20. “I successfully slid into her Dm’s a few months ago. I took a risk and I am glad I did. She is someone special, and I look forward to where life is going to take us. Stay tuned for the journey.” Courtesy Jess Clarke/Instagram ![]() The pair were in a long-distance relationship when they first started dating. “Long-distance isn’t ideal, I don’t love it. I want to be around her more and we don’t get to be around each other a ton, so that’s not something I want to keep doing,” Higgins told Us in March 2019. “But I think there’s a good compromise, and that’s giving up more of my time to go see her. And I’m ready for that. … She’s just an incredible person.” Courtesy Jess Clarke/Instagram ![]() Higgins put a ring on it in March 2020. Us broke the news of their engagement. I forget the exact scenario that it came up,” Higgins told Us at the time. “We didn’t know at that point — who knew where it was going, but like, you know, [I said], ‘Let’s just make this commitment now.’ We had talked about it and agreed to it. Oftentimes that we bring it up. Like, we still have the desires and we still have the emotions and the physical desires to love each other.” Shutterstock ![]() The twosome wasted no time planning their nuptials. “All I want is our reception to be in a huge tent with twinkly lights. That’s the only dream I’ve ever had of a wedding,” Clarke told Us in May 2020. Courtesy of Ben Higgins/Instagram/Shutterstock ![]() When Higgins’ season of The Bachelor re-aired as part of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever! in June 2020, he told Us that Clarke wouldn’t be tuning in. “She is my partner, and I want her to know that I don’t want her to feel any sort of heartbreak or sadness from that. So she’ll make an appearance on the show, but she will not be watching it,” Higgins told Us about The Bachelor: GOAT. “She’s going to get through that day, and probably the week afterward, with all the comments about my season, and then we’ll move on. But it’s not healthy, I don’t think, for her to probably watch it.” Clarke took to Instagram to show Higgins support, however. “Cheering you on from afar tonight,” she wrote. “I’m so proud of who you are and happy for all of the steps that led me to you! You make me smile so big it smushes my face.” Courtesy Ben Higgins/Instagram ![]() Clarke shared a photo on Instagram of Higgins kissing her and marked a special anniversary. "Every Thanksgiving from now on, I’ll remember the first message you sent me!" she wrote of receiving a message from her future husband on Instagram. "Waking up 2 years ago and seeing a DM from a random stranger, I never imagined I’d be marrying him." "Thank you for supporting me in following my dreams, loving me on my most tired days, making me a better person, and always making me feel like I am good enough just as I am," Clarke continued. "This photo is from last year when we were traveling all of the time. I remember being so worried that one day life would slow down and we wouldn’t know what to do with one another, but this year I’ve learned that those slow days are my favorite." Courtesy of Jessica Clarke/Instagram ![]() Higgins revealed via Instagram that the couple are officially homeowners in Colorado. “Jess and I now own a house together (staying in Denver)! We don’t own any furniture but we are hoping Mr. Claus and Mrs. Claus send some our way this Christmas,” he captioned a photo of the pair in their new home. “Until then, our and probably next many dinners in the new house will be on the floor, just the way it should be! Also, before you start blowing up the comments this will be Jess private VIP party pad until the wedding, then I move in to crash the place! Let the fun begin!” Courtesy of Ben Higgins/Instagram ![]() As Clarke gushed about her future following 2020’s many challenges, she shared her excitement about finally marrying Higgins. “This year I hope to be able to see friends and family more, continue making our house a home, begin a career as an esthetician, and of course GET MARRIED,” she shared via Instagram. Courtesy of Jessica Clarke/Instagram ![]() “Had the opportunity to stop watching football on Sunday to go pick up the future wife of the party!” Higgins wrote via Instagram alongside photos of the couple at Clarke’s bridal shower. “Only a month till I get to show off my tux and watch @jessclarke_ cry (beautifully and happily) down the aisle!” Courtesy of Ben Higgins/Instagram ![]() The couple exchanged vows at Cherokee Dock in Nashville with Nick Viall, Shawn Booth, Ashley Iaconetti, Jared Haibon, Becca Kufrin, Thomas Jacobs and more Bachelor Nation members in attendance. In an Instagram post, Clarke called it "the most romantic week," adding that the duo's favorite food from the trip was truffle pizza. "I personally loved the mornings and breakfast by the ocean," she wrote. Higgins, for his part, said in his own Instagram post that he enjoyed seeing sea turtles while snorkeling. Selena Gomez Shares Her Tips to Stop ‘Intrusive Thoughts’ Posted: 03 Feb 2022 10:37 AM PST Starting a dialogue. Selena Gomez has spoken candidly about her struggles with mental health over the years. The singer first sought treatment in 2014 after she was diagnosed with lupus. She has since attended various voluntary programs to manage anxiety, panic attacks and depression. Nine months after she completed treatment in January 2018, Us Weekly confirmed she was seeking "opened-ended" mental health treatment. In April 2020, the Getaway star revealed that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. “It doesn’t scare me once I know it,” she told Miley Cyrus in an episode of the latter’s “Bright Minded” Instagram series. “I think people get scared of that, right?” The Rare Beauty founder has also used her platform to raise awareness about mental health, both by hosting conversations with experts and shedding light on various issues through her projects. From 2017 to 2020, she served as an executive producer on the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, which sparked many discussions about the struggles contemporary teens and young adults face. "This is happening every day," Gomez said during an Elvis Duran and the Morning Show interview in 2017, referring to the show’s serious themes. "Whether or not you wanted to see it, that's what's happening. The content is complicated. It's dark and it has moments that are honestly very hard to swallow, and I understood that we were doing something that is difficult.” During the coronavirus pandemic, which brought mental health to the forefront for people all over the world, the “Bad Liar” songstress continued to speak out about the importance of checking in with your emotions. In October 2020, she hosted an Instagram Live with Dr. Vivek Murthy, President Joe Biden’s surgeon general, to discuss the feelings of loneliness she was experiencing while in lockdown. "In the beginning I couldn't deal with it that well," she said, discussing the early months of quarantine. "But then I started going into a place where I as writing and being active; it forced me to have that time. I've been able to spend time with those quality people a lot more than I ever have, and I'm spending a lot more time with my family." Murthy explained that Gomez’s story was a great example of why it’s important to share how you’re feeling. "If you recognize that [almost everyone is struggling in some way], you'll recognize that there's many ways to reach out," he said. "When we serve other people, we shift the focus from ourselves to them in the context of a positive interaction … and we reaffirm to ourselves that we have value to bring to the world." ![]() A rep for Gomez confirmed she sought treatment in February 2014. Shortly after, she thanked fans for their support on Instagram: “I’ve done everything I could to the best of my ability. Thank you for the unconditional love and cyber hugs. You inspire me." Allen Berezovsky/WireImage/Getty Images ![]() The Disney alum gave an inspiring speech at the We Day conference in March 2014. "I'm surrounded by people who are supposed to guide me, and some of them have, and others haven't. They pressure me. There's so much pressure. You gotta be sexy, you gotta be cute, you gotta be nice. You gotta be all these things,” she told the crowd. "They tell me what to wear, how to look, what I should say, how I should be. Until recently, I had given into that pressure. I lost sight of who I was. I listened to opinions of people, and I tried to change who I am because I thought that others would accept me for it." C Flanigan/FilmMagic/Getty Images ![]() After Gomez sent a struggling fan words of encouragement on Instagram, she screenshotted her message and shared it with her millions of followers. "By me following you is not me saying it's ok to think these thoughts. It's not me saying 'hey you said sad things, so I'm going to follow you to make you feel better'. God puts us in situations that are so unexplainably difficult for a reason. There is someone in the world feeling so much, just like you,” she wrote in February 2015. "People everyday feel so many emotions they wish they could turn it off. But that's not why we are here. We are here for relationships, for people just like us who feel worthless. Your purpose is to share, help, encourage. Remember that. Please. Before you think of taking your life, think of all the [lives] you could save. I love you. More importantly there is a God that will love more than I ever could." Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic/Getty Images ![]() In April 2016, the “Same Old Love” songstress explained her decision to go to rehab years earlier. "I got diagnosed with lupus. My mom had a very public miscarriage. So I had to cancel my tour. I needed time to just be OK,” she told GQ. ”It’s really frustrating, because I am 100 percent allowed to have that, but I think people just want to have some sort of — I understand what you’re asking. But I’m just saying, I don’t think it really matters. My past seems to be way more fascinating for people than my future, which bums me out … Why do you care?" Angela Weiss/Getty Images ![]() Gomez revealed she was taking a step back from the public eye in August 2016 to cope with the side effects from Lupus. “As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have Lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways. I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of Lupus, which can present their own challenges,” she said in a statement to Us Weekly. “I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off. Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best. I know I am not alone and by sharing this, I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues.” Emma McIntyre/Getty Images ![]() The “Hands to Myself” crooner made her first post-rehab appearance at the American Music Awards in November 2016. “In 2014 this stage was actually the first time I was authentically 100 percent honest with all of you,” a teary Gomez told the audience. “I think it’s safe to say most of you know a lot of my life whether I liked it or not. I had to stop because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside and I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down.” “I don’t want to see your bodies on Instagram. I want to see what’s in here,” Gomez continued while pointing to her heart. “I’m so grateful to be able to share what I love with people that I love. You guys are so damn loyal but if you are broken you do not have to stay broken.” Barcroft Images/Barcroft Media/Getty Images ![]() Gomez shared an emotional message with fans on Thanksgiving Day in 2016, admitting it was her “hardest” but “most rewarding” year yet. “I’ve finally fought the fight of not 'being enough.' I have only wanted to reflect the love you guys have given me for years and show how important it is to take care of YOU,” she wrote. “By grace through faith. Kindness always wins. I love you guys. God bless.” Kevin Winter/Getty Images ![]() While promoting season 1 of 13 Reasons Why, Gomez, who served as an executive producer on the series, revealed she related to the story. “I went away for 90 days and I actually met tons of kids in this place [and] we are talking about a lot of the issues that these characters are experiencing, [so] I would say yes,” Gomez said during a panel in February 2017. “I had to deal with it on a different scale. Whether it was kids or just growing up in the biggest high school in the world which was the Disney Channel, it was also adults that had the audacity to kind of tell me how I should live my life. It was very confusing for me. … I had no idea who I was gonna be, what I'm still going to become. It definitely hit home.” She added: “I think this is what they need to see. We are not gonna post things, like, ‘Hey be empowered,' because that's not what they wanna see. Kids don't care. They have to see something that's gonna shake something. I want them to understand it. I would do anything to have a good influence on this generation. It's hard, but I definitely relate to everything going on.” JB Lacroix/WireImage/Getty Images ![]() Gomez admitted to Vogue in March 2017 that she feels “really lonely” on tour. “My self-esteem was shot. I was depressed, anxious. I started to have panic attacks right before getting on stage, or right after leaving the stage. Basically I felt I wasn’t good enough, wasn’t capable,” she revealed. “I felt I wasn’t giving my fans anything, and they could see it—which, I think, was a complete distortion. I was so used to performing for kids.” “At concerts I used to make the entire crowd raise up their pinkies and make a pinky promise never to allow anybody to make them feel that they weren’t good enough. Suddenly I have kids smoking and drinking at my shows, people in their 20s, 30s, and I’m looking into their eyes, and I don’t know what to say. I couldn’t say, ‘Everybody, let’s pinky-promise that you’re beautiful!’” Gomez continued. “It doesn’t work that way, and I know it because I’m dealing with the same shit they’re dealing with. What I wanted to say is that life is so stressful, and I get the desire to just escape it. But I wasn’t figuring my own stuff out, so I felt I had no wisdom to share. And so maybe I thought everybody out there was thinking, This is a waste of time.” Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images ![]() When Gomez moderated a movie screening for Heaven Knows What in August 2017, she revealed she “really like the mental aspect” of the film. “The beginning of the movie struck with me… that’s not really a secret, but, I for sure have talked about that and have done a lot of those exercises.” Jeff Spicer/Getty Images ![]() “Anyone who knows me knows I will always start with my health and my well-being,” she began in her March 2018 Harper’s Bazaar cover story. “I’ve had a lot of issues with depression and anxiety, and I’ve been very vocal about it, but it’s not something I feel I’ll ever overcome. There won’t be a day when I’m like, ‘Here I am in a pretty dress — I won!’ I think it’s a battle I’m gonna have to face for the rest of my life, and I’m OK with that because I know that I’m choosing myself over anything else.” Samir Hussein /WireImage/Getty Images ![]() “The beauty myth- an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfill society’s impossible definition of flawless beauty,” Gomez wrote on Instagram in March 2018. “I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone. Wind in her sails.” Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images ![]() After Gomez completed another stint in treatment in December 2018, she broke her silence via Instagram the following January. “It’s been awhile since you have heard from me, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and to thank you for your love and support,” she wrote. “Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth. It’s always those challenges which show you who you are and what you are capable of overcoming. Trust me, it’s not easy, but I am proud of the person I am becoming and look forward to the year ahead. Love you all.” George Pimentel/Getty Images for Sundance Film Festival ![]() Gomez sang about her mental health battle in a song with Julia Michaels titled “Anxiety,” released in January 2019. “But all my friends they don't know, what it's like, what it's like / They don't understand why, I can't sleep through the night,” she sings. “And I thought that I could take something to fix it / Damn I wish it, I wish it was that simple, ah, ah.” Emma McIntyre/AMA2017/Getty Images for dcp ![]() “I feel great, yeah,” she told NPR in January 2020. “I'm on the proper medication that I need to be on, even as far as my mental health. I fully believe in just making sure you check in with your doctors or therapist. [Taking care of mental health — ] that's forever. That's something I will have to continue to work on. Yes, I don't think I just magically feel better. I have days where it is hard for me to get out of bed, or I have major anxiety attacks. All of that still happens.” Global Citizen/Shutterstock ![]() The “Lose You to Love Me” singer opened up about seeking professional help and treatment during an interview with WSJ. Magazine in January 2020. "I found out I do suffer from mental health issues. And, honestly, that was such a relief," she said. "I realized that there was a way to get help and to find people that you trust. I got on the right medication, and my life has been completely changed.” Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() In April 2020, Gomez revealed she was bipolar during an appearance on Miley Cyrus’ Instagram Live series, Bright Minded: Live With Miley. “Recently I went to one of the best mental hospitals in the world … And I discussed that after years of going through a lot of different things I realized that I was bipolar,” she explained. “When I have more information, it actually helps me, it doesn’t scare me once I know it,” the former child actress continued. “When I finally said what I was going to say, I wanted to know everything about it and it took the fear away.” Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() During a virtual WarnerMedia Television Critics Association press tour in August 2020, Gomez spoke about her diagnosis and coping amid the coronavirus pandemic. "It's not easy for anyone to be walking through what we're walking through. It's not normal, and it's affecting people, specifically with mental health, and people who could have never thought about things they're thinking about now. And it's really confusing.” Willy Sanjuan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() In March 2021, the 13 Reasons Why producer spoke about when she knew she needed help. “I knew I couldn’t go on unless I learned to listen to my body and mind when I really needed help,” she told Vogue. “And then I start thinking about my personal life, and I’m like, ‘What am I doing with my life?’ and it becomes this spiral.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() In April 2021, the "Lose You to Love Me" songstress announced a new campaign with her Rare Beauty brand "to help support mental health education, empower our community and encourage financial support for more mental health services in educational settings." In an Instagram post about the new initiative, called Mental Health 101, Gomez opened up about her own past struggles with depression, explaining that she wants her experience to remind others coping with mental health issues that they are not alone. "I know firsthand how scary and lonely it can feel to face anxiety and depression by yourself at a young age," she wrote. "If I had learned about my mental health earlier on — been taught about my condition in school that way I was taught about other subjects — my journey could have looked very different. The world needs to know that mental health matters. It's just as important as your physical health, and I wish we could all acknowledge that, not just in words but through our actions." Shutterstock ![]() Gomez candidly spoke about her treatment via a Vogue Australia interview in June 2021. “I’ve studied DBT, which is Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I’ve been to four treatment centers,” she explained. “I think in mental health, I never understood the stigma until I went to my first treatment center because that was years ago. But then there was a photograph that got out, and it’s wild to see how mean they were. It was like: ‘She’s the next this person, she’s the childhood star,’ whatever. And: ‘She’s doing drugs.’ They’re saying all this stuff about me. I’m watching all of that change, slowly but surely, because now, if any media outlet made fun of me, they’re the ones that look like the asshole because we don’t tolerate that anymore. It’s actually crazy that I’m watching it happen, even though I know we have so much more to do. And I have goals. I want to put this as a curriculum into schools. I feel like I practice [DBT] every day … And then I also love being in the studio. Because the first hour I’m in a studio, I just talk. It’s like therapy. You just go in and you share your heart.” Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock ![]() In June 2021, the beauty founder spoke with Stellar magazine about how “impossible beauty standards” took a toll on her mental health, which inspired her to launch her own makeup brand. “Society constantly tells us that we’re not enough, so I wanted to start a brand to challenge and eliminate that pressure – to change the conversation,” she said. "My goal with Rare Beauty is to break down these unrealistic standards of beauty. I saw from personal experience how these impossible beauty standards were having such an effect on my mental health and I know a lot of people who felt the same way.” Richard Shotwell/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() “My lupus, my kidney transplant, chemotherapy, having a mental illness, going through very public heartbreaks — these were all things that honestly should have taken me down,” Gomez said in Elle’s first LatinX issue, published in August 2021. “Every time I went through something, I was like, ‘What else? What else am I going to have to deal with?’” The former Disney Channel star explained that she looked inward to get the strength to move forward. “You’re going to help people,” she recalled telling herself. “That’s really what kept me going. There could have been a time when I wasn’t strong enough and would have done something to hurt myself.” Inez & Vinoodh ![]() In October 2021, the former child star recalled feeling "an immense amount of pressure" to set a good example for her fans early on in her career. "It was really confusing growing up, and once people created this narrative of my life, I realized I can't be quiet anymore," she told Beauty Inc. of the "unrealistic" expectations she was held to as a young actress and singer. "I have to just address what needs to be addressed, and that's me reclaiming my story, which is, 'OK, yeah, I was definitely going through a hard time, and this is why, and this is what I deal with.'" Shutterstock ![]() In a November 2021 interview with Entrepreneur magazine, Gomez revealed she teamed up with her mom, Mandy Teefy, and Daniella Pierson to launch the Official Wondermind, a mental fitness company. Teefey struggles with ADHD and anxiety, while Pierson has OCD. "[The conversation between the three of us] is one of the moments I felt closest to my mom — us coming together to talk about something we each have experienced in our own manner. It was wonderful," Gomez said. "And then to be understood by Daniella was even better." Shutterstock ![]() “Sometimes I’m not good at [taking care of my mind], like, it just happened where I’ll wake up and I struggle maybe sometimes just getting out of bed,” Gomez admitted via a December 2021 Instagram video via the official Wondermind page. “What helps me, first and foremost, just picking up the phone and calling someone. But I constantly try to fill myself with knowledge of what it is that I’m feeling and triggers that happen to me.” She added in her message: “I think what really helps me understand myself a bit more is that I can take a step back and think of all the tools that I’ve learned and try to implement them in my everyday life. Also, I suggest working out. I hate working out, it is not fun, but I’ve been doing intense boxing classes recently and it has really helped me get a lot of frustration [and] energy out.” LRNYC/MEGA ![]() “I’m a big advocate for therapy,” Gomez told Glamour UK in February 2022. “I also love to keep sticky notes around my house with positive affirmations. I have a lot of various ones, but ‘I am enough’ is a favorite of mine – I call them ‘Rare Reminders.’ And taking a scrolling break from social media helps!” The “Selfish Love” songstress added: “From the time I can remember, I’ve always felt like I had to be perfect or look a certain way. It took me a long time to realize that I only wanted to be myself – that what made me unique was also what made me beautiful.” GHOST/Shutterstock |
Shady Spice! Mel C Takes Aim at Victoria Beckham’s Vocals on ‘Drag Race’ Posted: 03 Feb 2022 10:32 AM PST ![]() A little spicy. Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm threw shade at former bandmate Victoria Beckham while appearing as a guest judge on Drag Race UK vs The World. Sporty Spice, 48, was critiquing drag queen Baga Chipz when she noted the similarity to the Spice Girls‘ music. “Baga, I think you completely embody the humor of British drag and I love that,” Chisolm said on the episode, which aired on Wednesday, February 2. “You are giving me lots of Spice Girl inspiration tonight.” The singer continued: “You lip-syncedbadly, but when you were performing, I was like, ‘There's a resemblance [to] Posh Spice!’ But you know what? Your vocals are much better!” While the comment was likely a reference to Baga Chipz’ catchphrase, “Much Betta,” Chisolm’s dig at the fashion designer, 47, left many fans in shock. “Mel C came for Victoria Beckham hard and they kept it in the edit?” one fan wrote on Twitter. Another social media user praised the singer’s appearance on Drag Race, writing, “Mel C was a great guest judge. Funny and playfully shady towards Victoria and Geri [Halliwell].” Despite her comments about Beckham’s vocal ability, Chisholm previously defended the makeup mogul when she opted out of the Spice Girls’ 2019 reunion tour. “I'm sure, Victoria wouldn't mind me saying, the Olympics [Closing Ceremony performance] was hard for her [in 2012],” the “Here it Comes Again” singer confessed on a March 2019 appearance on the “Out For Lunch” podcast. “You know, she's moved on, her life has changed, and she just doesn't have that love of performing, and in fact, it completely petrifies her.” Adding that Beckham is also “extremely busy and successful in what she's doing,” Chisolm said that neither she nor the other Spice Girls have any resentment toward their former bandmate. “We're all very sensitive of that, and we completely understand,” she said at the time. “We're all sad that Victoria won't be joining us, but it's all genuinely very supportive you know, obviously understand and support her.” In July 2020, however, the Dancing With the Stars alum revealed that there is one thing that could possibly entice Beckham back to the stage. “We talk about [another reunion tour] all the time,” she told journalist Ranvir Singh. “Between you and I, I know Mrs. Beckham would love to do Glastonbury,” Chisholm teased, referring to the annual music festival held in Somerset, England. Whether or not Posh Spice rejoins the group, Chisholm is determined to bring girl power back to the world in the future. “[Another tour has] been rumored a lot, but we do constantly talk about getting back on stage because the shows in 2019 were incredible. We’d love to do it again once the world allows and we can do it safely,” she told Singh. |
Chris Hemsworth’s Kids Use Him as Human Jungle Gym in Rare Family Photo Posted: 03 Feb 2022 09:50 AM PST Family forever! While Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky's whirlwind romance was always something special, their relationship continued to bloom after they welcomed their three children. The Marvel star and the model tied the knot in 2010 after less than a year of dating. Two years later, they became a family of three with the birth of their daughter, India, in May 2012. Prior to welcoming their baby girl, Pataky accompanied her husband on the red carpet for The Avengers' U.K. premiere, where he sweetly rubbed her baby bump. “She’s so proud of Chris and he’s proud of her,” a source told Us Weekly at the time. “They are an adorable family already!” Less than two years later, the family grew even more when they welcomed twin boys, Tristan and Sasha, in March 2014. The following year, the Extraction actor noted that watching the Spain native take on motherhood caused him to fall even deeper in love with her. “Once we had kids we were like, ‘We’re in it, this is it.’ All of a sudden I had a greater appreciation for my wife, she kind of came into her own when we had kids," he told WHO magazine. "She certainly keeps me sane. I complain about things, she gets on with it.” Amid the coronavirus pandemic in May 2020, Hemsworth shared that he'd always struggled to balance his career with other things that were important to him. "I've spent probably 15 years in what felt like a marathon, a constant workload," he told GQ Australia at the time. "So much of my energy has been geared toward that, and then having kids at the same time, I've been constantly trying to find the balance. … For a little while, you don't think the kids notice and then you realize they do." The Star Trek actor continued: "I absolutely want to continue to make films that I'm proud of, but that can also wait. Now what's more important is my kids are at an age I don't want to miss. And I'd hate to look back in 20 years and go, 'Right, let's get to work as a parent,' and I've missed it all." DWTS' Artem Chigvintsev Starts 2nd Round of Pneumonia Treatment Posted: 03 Feb 2022 08:55 AM PST ![]() Still fighting. Dancing With the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev shared a health update after he abruptly left the ABC show’s national tour in January. “Hi everyone, just wanted to give you a little update on my wellbeing,” the dancer, 39, shared in a video via Instagram Story on Thursday, February 3. “So, I had another x-ray done yesterday, and it came back still positive for pneumonia, so I just got another set of antibiotics.” The Russia native noted that this was his second round of medication. “Hopefully, this one will do the magic, will do the trick, to kick out the pneumonia out of my lungs,” he said. “So that’s where I’m at. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.” The update comes two weeks after Chigvintsev announced his break from the Dancing With the Stars tour for his health. “Hi DWTS family — My time on tour so far has been wonderful — unfortunately I am having to step away from tour for a while, due to some unexpected health issues,” Chigvintsev wrote in a statement shared via Instagram on January 20. “My goal is to recover as quickly as possible so I can rejoin my cast and crew on this incredible tour.” He continued, “Thank you for your patience and understanding. See you soon.” Artem shares son Matteo, 18 months, with fiancée Nikki Bella. The wrestler’s twin sister, Brie Bella, shared some insight exclusively with Us Weekly on her future brother-in-law’s health a week after his abrupt exit. “He did have COVID,” Brie, 38, explained to Us, clarifying that it was also “something more than COVID.” The Real Dirty Dancing star said it “was hard on him” to get sick in the middle of the tour, but he was seeing some improvement. “He’s doing a lot better, which is so great,” Brie said. “I know it’s really made him feel good seeing everyone just reaching out and thinking of him and sending their thoughts and prayers his way.” Ahead of the tour, Nikki revealed that she and her beau, who she met on DWTS season 25 in 2017, went to couples counseling during a tumultuous time. With COVID-19 protocols and filming their separate reality shows, the two ended up being in a long-distance relationship, which wasn’t easy. "We're actually in a good spot. We were doing a little rocky for a bit," the former Total Bellas star said in a November 2021 episode of “The Bellas Podcast.” "[We] had to get back into therapy. You know, distance is really hard. … Now we're stronger than ever." |
Savannah Chrisley's Ex Nic Details Suicide Attempt, Credits Family for Help Posted: 03 Feb 2022 08:28 AM PST Chrisley Knows Best star Nic Kerdiles opened up about how he survived a suicide attempt with the help of Savannah Chrisley and Todd Chrisley. "I'm super grateful to be here today," Kerdiles, 28, who was joined by Savannah, 24, and Todd, 52, said in a lengthy Instagram video on Wednesday, February 2. "I recently went through COVID as well, and now, reading a lot more about it, I kind of understand why this situation might have happened that occurred the other night." The former athlete explained that he was on an unspecified medication due to his COVID diagnosis, noting, “I decided to mix alcohol with it to a point that I don't remember anything that happened that night." Kerdiles, who split from Savannah in September 2020, recalled that he was "blacked out" as a result of mixing the medication and alcohol. He had plans to see a friend, who he credited for helping him during the incident. "If he wasn't there, I don't know if I would still be here today to be completely honest," the Texas native said. "I had a gun by me, and I don't know where I was at in my mental state, but between the depression, anxiety, the COVID effects, the medication, the alcohol I did something that I never thought I would ever do." According to TMZ, law enforcement received a 911 call on Monday, January 31, from a panicked Savannah and Todd about a suicidal individual with a gun. During his Instagram video, Kerdiles shared how "grateful" he was to his ex-fiancée and her father for their support and how he hoped his story "could help somebody else” going through a similar situation. Savannah, for her part, spoke out about the rising rate of anxiety and depression because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. "Not only has the disease truly impacted us, so has mental health,” she detailed, reminding viewers that it is “OK not to be OK” as long as you are able to seek assistance. "That's something I feel like I've told Nic for a little while now … it's OK to talk about your feelings, it's OK to ask for help." Meanwhile, Todd reminded the former hockey player that he would always have a place in their family in an emotional conversation. "I love you to this day, and son, I will always love you. I don't care if you marry my daughter. I don't care if y'all date," the reality star said. "I don't care if you are ever boyfriend and girlfriend. I love you for you because you're a good kid with a great heart and you don't deserve the glass bowl or the fishbowl lifestyle that you've inherited because of us." In the caption on his post, Todd included a link to a suicide prevention hotline as he reflected on how “proud” he was of Kerdiles, writing, “Mental health is real … this is our truth. Thanking God everyday that he's allowed us to keep you.” Viewers of Chrisley Knows Best were introduced to Kerdiles after he started dating Savannah in November 2017. The pair, who met on Instagram, got engaged in April 2019 but later decided to postpone their wedding. "We made [the decision] together. We both realized that things moved way too fast and we needed to go back to dating," she explained on the "Chrisley Confessions" podcast in June 2020. "I just knew we had to work on things on a different level. We had to dig deeper, and it's hard." Three months later, the fashion designer announced her split from Kerdiles. "Nic and I have decided to call it quits," the Atlanta native wrote via Instagram at the time. "There's no hatred between the two of us…and in all honesty…that makes saying goodbye even harder. We have nothing but love, respect, and admiration for one another but it's time for us to move forward individually." Although the duo decided to go their separate ways, Savannah later noted that she wasn’t ruling out a possible reconciliation, telling Us Weekly in November 2020, "Nic and I, we're on good terms. We're both so young and ambitious, and you know, we're trying to find our way in life. No decision is ever permanent, so you never know what can happen. We have the rest of our lives to figure things out." If you or someone you know is in emotional distress or considering suicide, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). |
