Kate Beckinsale might've been front-page news last month as ex Pete Davidson reportedly dates makeup mogul Kim Kardashian, but the Pearl Harbor actress is now fronting media outlets on her own clock. Kate is fresh from rocking Kate Middleton-adored designer Jenny Packham to the BIFA Film Awards, where it was a figure-hugging and classy affair as the British beauty went classic in white.

Kate quickly followed her dress post with a glam one, this time focusing on the night's swept-up hair, glittering diamond earrings, and another showoff of her ageless complexion and plump pout.

Staying 'Connected' To Her Body

Chris Cuomo Fired From CNN, Accused Of Sexual Misconduct

Democrat Andrew Cuomo resigned this summer as Governor of New York after being accused of sexual misconduct by eleven women.

But Cuomo did not go down without a fight. He vehemently denied the accusations and dismissed the investigation into his alleged wrongdoings as politically motivated.

The now-former governor's brother Chris Cuomo, an anchor on CNN, used his media sources to uncover information about the accusers.

Chris allegedly maintained regular contact with his brother and even helped him draft public statements. This resulted in Cuomo's suspension from CNN, and ultimately his firing.

CNN Fires Chris Cuomo

"Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother's defense. We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately," CNN explained in a statement.

"While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light. Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate," the channel added.

Michael Smerconish will host Cuomo Prime Time next week, but it remains unclear who will take the coveted 9 p.m. slot.

Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Hours after CNN fired Cuomo, The New York Times reported that a "former junior colleague at another network" claims the anchor sexually harassed her.

Cuomo has not yet addressed these accusations directly, but his spokesperson said that they are "not true."

It is not fully clear if these claims played a role in CNN's decision to fire Cuomo, but a CNN spokesperson said that "when new allegations came to us this week, we took them seriously, and saw no reason to delay taking immediate action."

Cuomo Responds To Being Fired

After being fired, Cuomo released a statement saying that he is proud of his team.

"This is not how I want my time at CNN to end but I have already told you why and how I helped my brother," the anchor said.

"So let me now say as disappointing as this is, I could not be more proud of the team at Cuomo Prime Time and the work we did as CNN's #1 show in the most competitive time slot. I owe them all and will miss that group of special people who did really important work," he added.

Don Lemon Is 'Inconsolable'

Some of Cuomo' colleagues did not take the news well, according to reports.

Per eurweb, Don Lemon was "inconsolable" after learning that Cuomo is being let go.

The host reportedly dropped to his knees when he heard the news, and appeared completely "devastated" by CNN's decision.

Cuomo and Lemon -- who host The Handoff podcast together -- are allegedly close friends.

According to the publication's sources, they became friends when Lemon joined the network, because he was "lost" at the time and Cuomo helped him feel at home.

Neighbor Says She Warned Child Protective Services About Ethan Crumbley's Parents

Fifteen-year-old Ethan Crumbley opened fire inside Michigan's Oxford High School last week, killing four of his fellow students.

Authorities believe the shooting was premediated, so Ethan has been charged as an adult with murder, terrorism, assault and weapons possession.

The teenager's parents, James and Jennifer Crumbley, have both been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter.

The tragedy shocked Michigan and the entire nation, leaving many to point fingers at the parents and wonder if more could have been done to prevent the shooting.

Former Neighbor Speaks Up

Before moving to Oxford, James, Jennifer, and Ethan lived near downtown Lake Orion.

In 2014 and 2015, when he was between 8 and 9 years old, Ethan was often left home alone, according to Kayla LeMieux.

LeMieux, who lived in the same apartment complex as the Crumbleys and knew the couple, told the Detroit Free Press that they would go out drinking and leave the boy at home.

"When they were gone, he would come knock on our door. They didn't leave him with a phone," LeMieux said.

Child Protective Services

LeMieux said that she even anonymously contacted Michigan's Child Protection Services (CPS) out of concern for Ethan's well being.

LeMieux explained that she briefly worked with Jennifer and considered her a friend, but that their relationship soured because she made it clear she was concerned about Ethan.

"It was really when I finally started to say more, because I was just like, even after calling CPS, they were still doing it and even me saying something to them, they were still like 'Oh he is fine,'" LeMieux said.

LeMieux said she has no idea if CPS took action following her complaint, and noted that James and Jennifer never discussed guns or talked about owning them when she knew them.

LeMieux also showed to the Detroit Free Press a number of Facebook messages she exchanged with James and Jennifer -- the messages show that she was worried about Ethan being left home alone while the couple was out drinking.

Bob Wheaton, a spokesman with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, said in a brief statement that "CPS complaints are confidential by law."

Crumbleys Locked Up In Same Jail

As reported by The New York Post, James, Ethan, and Jennifer are all locked up in the Oakland County Jail.

As Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard explained, the Crumbleys are not allowed to communicate, they are all in isolation, and have been placed on suicide watch out of an abundance of caution.

"We have nothing to lead us to believe that anybody has any mental health challenges so far. They indicate no interest or desire to hurt themselves," Bouchard said at a press conference.

Dakota Johnson Praises Honest Storytelling Of Mothers In 'The Lost Daughter'

Dakota Johnson shared what attracted her to her latest film The Lost Daughter and how director Maggie Gyllenhaal helped her bring life to her challenging character.

The actress sat down with Gyllenhaal at the Deadline's Contenders Event to talk about some of the important cultural conversations explored in the film, which has been bagging awards and receiving praises from critics.

Breakthrough Director Maggie Gyllenhaal

Maggie Gyllenhaal, who wrote the screenplay and directed the film, has proven that she is a serious director to watch out for. The film has not only received praises from reviewers, it also won multiple awards including Best Breakthrough Director, Best Screenplay and Best Feature at the the Gotham Awards.

"There's something inherently dramatic about telling the truth in general," Maggie shared.

"So I do think that's what drove me. And also because they were truths about things that related to me and my experience as a woman in the world."

Dakota's Challenging Role

Johnson admitted she had trepidations at first but later realized the storytelling was honest and necessary.

"The initial feeling was, 'Oh, I'm a little bit scared to play this young woman who's having a really difficult time as a mother,' because that is typically a very unlikable person," she said.

"But it's so normal and it's so honest, and it was some someone that I recognized more than, you know, a young mother who's who gets everything perfect and is feeling great about it and super happy and all the time doesn't waver from that."

Not Sure About Motherhood

In a separate interview, Dakota said that the honest depiction of women in the movie helped her come to terms with her feelings about motherhood. She also admitted that she wasn't sure yet if she wants to have kids.

'The film makes it OK to have complicated feelings about being a mother,' Dakota said to The Times.

'For somebody like me, who isn't yet a mother and maybe doesn't want to be a mother, it makes that OK. Complicated, but OK.'

Honest Representation

Honest representation is exactly what Gyllenhaal was going for in her directorial debut.

"'I had all these things on my mind [as a mother], but didn't see them represented anywhere. What Leda does is extreme. I'm not going to leave my kids, but no parent has not thought of just walking out that f***ing door.'"

Though he's yet to become trade-eligible, multiple signs are pointing out that Walker would be soon on his way out of Big Apple. Knicks Could Swap Kemba Walker For Damian Lillard

One of the dream trade targets for the Knicks in the potential deal involving Walker is All-Star point guard Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers. In a recent article, Brad Dressler of Fansided's Daily Knicks came up with a hypothetical blockbuster trade idea that would enable the Knicks to swap Walker for Lillard.

In the proposed trade scenario, the Knicks would be sending a package that includes Walker, Kevin Knox II, Nerlens Noel, Evan Fournier, and future draft picks to the Trail Blazers in exchange for Lillard.

Damian Lillard Ends Knicks' Struggle

Targeting a player of Lillard's caliber would make a lot of sense for the Knicks, especially if they are still serious about reaching the NBA Finals and capturing the Larry O'Brien Trophy in the 2021-22 NBA season. After a strong start, the Knicks are currently out of the playoff race, sitting in the No. 11 spot in the Eastern Conference with an 11-12 record.

Though he won't make them an instant title contender, adding Lillard to the core of RJ Barrett, Julius Randle, and Mitchell Robinson would strengthen the Knicks' chance of returning to the playoffs for the second consecutive year.

Knicks' Trade Package Gives Blazers Two Options

The potential blockbuster deal would give the Trail Blazers the choice to remain competitive or immediately undergo a full-scale rebuild in the post-Lillard era. If they believe that they could still turn things around this season, the Trail Blazers could simply keep Walker and try using him as Lillard's substitute in their backcourt, while Fournier could serve as their sixth man.

If they finally decide to take a different route, the Trail Blazers could trade both veterans for young players and future draft assets before the 2022 NBA trade deadline.

Damian Lillard Growing Unhappy In Portland

As of now, the Trail Blazers have given zero indication that they are planning to move Lillard before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. However, they would be left with no choice but to listen to offers for him if he expresses his desire to leave. Lillard may have said on numerous occasions that he wants to retire as a Trail Blazers, but things are expected to change if they fail to show him a clear path to title contention.

Recently, Sam Amick and Shams Charania of The Athletic revealed that the Trail Blazers' start in the 2021-22 NBA season has been "unsettling" for Lillard. Like the Knicks, the Trail Blazers are also currently struggling to win games. So far, they are on a two-game losing streak, sitting in the No. 10 spot in the Western Conference with an 11-13 record.

MLB Rumors: 3 Marcell Ozuna Replacements For The Braves

Against all odds and even though their season seemed doomed right from the start, the Atlanta Braves shocked all of Major League Baseball.

The Braves won fewer games than the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays, a couple of teams that didn't even make the playoffs.

Even so, Brian Snitker's squad went the distance to beat the Houston Astros and win the World Series.

The most impressive part? They did that without Ronald Acuña Jr (injured) and Marcell Ozuna, who was out all year over a domestic violence incident.

The Braves Just Can't Bring Ozuna Back

Ozuna is expected to be cleared back to play at some point and could be back with the team next season.

Nonetheless, the talented outfielder shouldn't be anywhere near a baseball field next year, if ever.

The Braves just can't afford to bring him back after the video of him choking and beating his wife.

Obviously, that's a huge issue from a baseball standpoint. That's why today, we're going to talk about the top 3 free agents that could fill his void in the lineup.

Eddie Rosario

The Braves got Eddie Rosario from the Cleveland Indians midseason and it definitely paid off, so why not try and run it back with him on the left side of the field?

Rosario's contact and timely hitting came in handily for Snitker's team more often than not, especially in the playoffs.

He's a solid defender and, albeit not a powerful hitter, he's still more than capable of getting to base and making things happen on the plate. Also, he shouldn't be that expensive.

Joc Pederson

Once again, the Braves could have an answer for their struggles right in front of them.

Joc Pederson wasn't nearly as productive as he was during his days with the Los Angeles Dodgers but still, he and his pearls played a big role in the Braves World Series run.

He slashed .249/.325/.428 and was pretty solid off the bench and even subbed in for Eddie Rosario when he was on the Injured List.

He can also serve as the team's Designated Hitter if they bring Rosario back.

Kyle Schwarber

And last but not least, the Braves should try and make a run at one of the most sought-after players in free agency: Kyle Schwarber.

Schwarber is the Jack of all trades. He can play first and third base, left field, and even be the team's designated hitter.

He's coming off a huge year with both the Nationals and Red Sox and Boston will try and get him to stay, so he may not be the cheapest choice for reigning champions, though.

MLB Rumors: Clayton Kershaw's Wife And Corey Seager Could Lure Him To The Rangers

For years, Clayton Kershaw has been one of the most prominent figures around Major League Baseball.

Kershaw was an instrumental part of the Los Angeles Dodgers' success and has put together a Hall of Famer résumé, winning one MVP and 3 Cy Young awards while leading the National League in wins three times, three times in strikeouts, and five times in ERA.

However, the team didn't offer the 33-year-old a Qualifying Offer, making him an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

Corey Seager Is Recruiting Clayton Kershaw

That's why it's not surprising to see one of his former teammates try and convince him of switching sides.

In a recent interview, Corey Seager admitted that he's reached out to him to try and get him to go back to his home state and sign with the Texas Rangers.

"Have you reached out to Clayton Kershaw and said 'Hey buddy, it's time to come home'?" the reporter asked.

"I've had some talks with Kersh for sure," the 2020 World Series MVP replied.

Kershaw's Wife And Roots: A Reason To Come Back Home

Kershaw has been a lifelong target of the Rangers. The Dallas native lives there with his wife and children during the offseason.

Moreover, they just welcomed their fourth kid to the world, with Dodger Blue speculating that it could impact his decision to come back home:

"The couple is presumed to be back in their native Texas, and having a home in Dallas has fueled speculation the longtime Los Angeles Dodgers ace may leave to sign with the Texas Rangers in free agency," read the report.

Kershaw's Injury Won't Keep Him Away From Spring Training

Kershaw wasn't able to finish last season on the mound after suffering a left flexor tendon injury.

Nonetheless, the southpaw ace is fully expected to be ready for the start of next season, according to Dodgers insider Jorge Castillo:

"Clayton Kershaw said he was given a PRP injection in his left flexor tendon recently. He said that will be the only treatment he should need and won't undergo surgery. He said he expects to be ready for spring training," Castillo tweeted.

The Rangers Are For Real

The Rangers want to put that 102-loss season on the rearview mirror right away and are pretty bullish about the team's immediate future:

"Now's the time to buy stock in the Rangers," general manager Chris Young said at November's GM Meetings, per Fan Nation. "That's how I feel. And that's as a player, that's what you want to hear. You see the good things that are happening. And I think to get in early and be part of that makes it even more special."

It's still way too early to tell but they've definitely gotten off to a great start.

NBA Rumors: Lakers Could Swap Russell Westbrook For Another All-Star

The Los Angeles Lakers made the boldest move of the -NBA offseason by trading away most of their role players for Russell Westbrook.

The Washington Wizards gladly agreed to take his massive contract off their books and land Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Kuzma, and Montrezl Harrell; all of whom are thriving on expanded roles in the nation's capital.

As for Westbrook, he's left a lot to be desired through the first month-and-a-half donning the purple and gold jersey, and some think it's not going to get any better.

Lakers Could Look To Move Westbrook

Given Westbrook's erratic play and considering how ball-dominant he is, plenty of people think it's just a matter of time before the Lakers take a look at other options in the trade market.

All teams involving LeBron James are often quite active during the trade deadline, and speculation around the league is that they're going to at least consider moving on from him.

Needless to say, trading such a big contract is going to be a bit of an uphill battle, even for Rob Pelinka.

A Russell Westbrook-John Wall Swap Isn't Off The Table

With that in mind, former Mavericks executive Haralabos Voulgaris told Bill Simmons, per Heavy.com. that people should keep an eye on the Houston Rockets as a potential suitor for his services.

"'I'm giving you the only team [Timberwolves], this is it we have no other teams unless it's Lakers' Westbrook for Wall yet again,'" _Simmons said on his podcast.

"'I mean, never underestimate the Lakers' ability to make a trade that people think no one else would make,'" Voulgaris responded._ "'They're definitely the team that does that. They make it happen.'"_

Is Wall A Good Fit For The Lakers?

But would that trade make any sense for either of these teams?

For starters, Westbrook won't want to play for a rebuilding team, and the Rockets don't have any use for veteran players taking minutes away from their young stars, which is why they want to trade Wall in the first place.

On the other hand, the Lakers would be trading a non-shooting, high-earning, ball-dominant guard for another. And Wall has barely been on the court over the past couple of years.

Westbrook Is Turning The Corner

Even if he doesn't always please the eye-test, Westbrook is quickly turning the corner for the Lakers.

Over the past couple of weeks, he's shooting 50% from the floor, 72% from the free-throw line, and averaging 23.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 8.9 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.5 assists per game.

He's also second in minutes per game at 36.2, trailing only LeBron James in that regard.

Westbrook's decision-making will always be a concern but he's one of the best and most athletic players in the league, so maybe the Lakers shouldn't be that worried.

January Jones 'Forced To Bludgeon' Rattlesnake After Another One Bit Her Dog

Back in early April, January Jones was "praying for my pup" Vinny after her black Bernedoodle needed to be taken to hospital following a rattlesnake bite. One day later, the Mad Men star fought a second rattlesnake that had come into their home, stopping at nothing to make sure Vinny and Joey, her other canine companion, were safe.

The 43-year-old actress and model detailed the whole thing on Instagram, revealing she was "forced to bludgeon" the snake to protect her home.

Here's what happened.

Bit By 'Baby Rattler'

Taking to her Instagram Stories on April 7, January alerted her 1.1 million followers that her beloved Vinny, whom she had adopted two years prior, was seeking medical treatment after being bit by what she identified as a "baby rattler."

The X-Men and Love Actually actress uploaded a photo of the snake, which she had caught inside a blue pool net.

"This baby rattler bit my lil Vinny this morning. I caught and released it but praying for my pup who's in the hospital now ❤️," she wrote in the caption, adding a picture of her dog with three heart emoji.

Fur Mom

January welcomed Vinny into her family in mid-April 2018, dedicating a sweet Instagram post to the pooch at the time, as seen above.

Snapping a selfie with her new best friend, she opened up in the caption: "He reminds me so much of our beloved Max who passed away a few months ago. It was a decision I went back and forth on but I'm so happy he's ours. More love in a family is always a good idea ❤️"

The movie star also has a Goldendoodle named Joey, which has been with her since late March 2017. Check out their first picture together below.

Fierce Protector

One day after Vinny's harrowing encounter with the wild "baby rattler," January's snake fight continued when another rattlesnake showed up at her doorstep amid Vinny's recovery.

The star didn't hesitate to resort to drastic measures, sharing a video in which she held a croquet mallet above her head as she got ready to smash something in the grass.

"Right before I was forced to bludgeon yet ANOTHER rattle snake [sic] today. I almost cried," she captioned the Instagram Story, per People.

"I'm sorry snake family, this house is taken," continued the Bandits actress.

Dogs 'At Increased Risk'

The video came two hours after January posted an update on Vinny. Sharing a picture of him resting on a fuzzy blanket on the couch, the actress told fans he was "back home, tired out but doing well" via her Instagram Stories.

Rattlesnakes are widespread in January's home state of California, with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, cautioning that dogs "are at increased risk of being bitten due to holding their nose to the ground while investigating the outdoors."

"Generally not aggressive, rattlesnakes will likely retreat if given room or not deliberately provoked or threatened," states the agency's website. "On rare occasions, rattlesnake bites have caused severe injury – even death."
