NBA Rumors: Mavs' Luka Doncic Expresses Interest In Teaming Up With Ben Simmons Posted: 09 Dec 2021 05:23 AM PST Since they were eliminated in the 2021 NBA Playoffs, rumors have been continuously swirling around All-Star point guard Ben Simmons and his future with the Philadelphia 76ers. After being blamed for their failure to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, Simmons has started finding his way out of the City of Brotherly Love and expressed his desire to play somewhere else. Simmon's partnership with Sixers center Joel Embiid may not have produced an NBA championship title, but some NBA superstars have recently expressed interest in recruiting the former No. 1 pick to their team. Luka Doncic Wants To Play With Ben Simmons![]() After Shams Charania and Sam Amick of The Athletic linked him to Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard, another superstar is reportedly open to the idea of joining forces with Simmons. In a Twitter post, Sixers writer Austin Krell revealed that Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic has expressed interest in teaming up with Simmons. "Luka Doncic is among the players to have expressed interest in playing with Ben Simmons, per source," Krell wrote. "That interest extends all the way back to the summer." Mavericks Need Help![]() As of now, Doncic is yet to release a statement that will confirm or deny Krell's revelations. However, it wouldn't be a surprise if he's really interested in having Simmons in Dallas. Doncic may remain explosive on both ends of the floor, but the Mavericks obviously need more help if they are serious about reaching the NBA Finals and winning the NBA championship title in the 2021-22 NBA season. As of now, Doncic and the Mavericks have lost seven of their last 10 games, sitting in the No. 7 spot in the Western Conference with a 12-12 record. Ben Simmons On-Court Impact On MavericksSimmons may have gone through plenty of ups and downs last season, but he would still be an interesting addition to the Mavericks. Despite his shooting woes, the former Rookie of the Year remains a solid contributor on both ends of the floor. Aside from helping the Mavericks improve in rebounding and defense, his potential arrival in Dallas would also help them ease the burden on Doncic's shoulder in terms of scoring, playmaking, and ball handling. Last season, Simmons averaged 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 1.6 steals while shooting 55.7 percent from the field, per ESPN. Potential Trade Chips For MavericksSimmon's value may not be at an all-time high, but the Sixers are still expecting a decent return for their disgruntled superstar. According to Fox Sports, some of the potential trade chips that the Mavericks could use to acquire Simmons from the Sixers include Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Reggie Bullock. "Any potential move to the Mavericks could also hinge on the future of Kristaps Porzingis, as it is hard to see Dallas being able to offer much else up unless part of a three-way swap," the report reads. "Tim Hardaway Jr and Reggie Bullock are options and keeping Porzingis could then allow him to focus his energy on improving his defence and efficiency." ]]> |

NBA Rumors: Kemba Walker To Kings, De'Aaron Fox To Knicks In Proposed Blockbuster Trade Posted: 09 Dec 2021 05:14 AM PST Veteran point guard Kemba Walker and the New York Knicks](https://inquisitr.com/category/general/new-york-knicks) would soon be heading into an inevitable divorce. Walker may just be in his first season as a Knick, but Coach Tom Thibodeau has seen enough to realize that he doesn't fit with their long-term plan. As soon as Thibodeau revealed his decision to remove him from their rotation, rumors have started to circulate that the Knicks would try to move Walker before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. One of the ideal trade partners for the Knicks in the potential deal involving Walker is the Sacramento Kings. Knicks Swap Kemba Walker For De'Aaron Fox![]() In a recent article, Brad Dressler of Fansided's Daily Knicks came up with a hypothetical blockbuster trade idea that would enable the Knicks to swap Walker for Kings point guard De'Aaron Fox before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. In the proposed trade scenario, the Knicks would be sending a package that includes Walker, Nerlens Noel, Kevin Knox II, Taj Gibson, a 2022 first-round pick, a 2023 first-round pick, a 2024 first-round pick, and the rights to swap first-rounders in 2023 to the Kings in exchange for Fox. De'Aaron Fox Takes Kemba Walker's Spot![]() Trading all those assets would be a difficult decision for the Knicks, but it might be worth it if it means acquiring a player like Fox. In Fox, the Knicks would be getting a new starting point guard and a young star who fits the timeline of Julius Randle and RJ Barrett. Fox may have also gone through ups and downs earlier this season, but he's still a major improvement over Walker in the Knicks' backcourt. Aside from being a great playmaker, Fox would also give the Knicks a very reliable third-scoring option behind Randle and Barrett and a decent floor-spacer. This season, he's averaging 20.1 points, 5.5 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 42.9 percent from the field, per ESPN. De'Aaron Fox Would Welcome A Trade To New York![]() Fox may not have shown a strong indication that he's no longer happy with the Kings, but Dressler believes he would welcome the idea of playing for a big-market team like the Knicks. "Unlike Dame, I think the Knicks could acquire Fox and not necessarily have to make any other 'win now' moves," Dressler wrote. "Fox is locked up for the next 5 years and if he's willing to remain patient with the Kings, he'd surely be willing to buy into what the Knicks' long-term plans are and hang around until they acquire another star…perhaps via free agency in a few seasons." Will Kings Agree To Trade De'Aaron Fox For Kemba Walker?![]() If it's a direct swap involving Walker and Fox, the Kings are highly likely to immediately shut down the trade negotiation. However, the inclusion of other moving pieces would definitely make the Kings think twice if they still want to continue building around Fox. If they realize that he isn't the player that would lead them back to title contention, sending Fox to New York would enable the Kings to acquire the assets they need to undergo another full-scale rebuild. Aside from acquiring another talented prospect in Knox II, the Kings would also be receiving multiple future draft assets that they could use to add more young and promising talents to their roster. ]]> |
Posted: 09 Dec 2021 05:09 AM PST Rumors have been swirling around about Los Angeles Lakers point guard Russell Westbrook since the start of the 2021-22 NBA season. With his struggle to immediately build chemistry with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, there's a growing belief around the league that the Lakers might explore moving him again before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. However, Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka is unlikely to trade Westbrook just for the sake of getting him out of Los Angeles. If they decide to move him, it would be in a deal that would make them a better team before the real battle begins in the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Lakers' Dream Blockbuster Trade Featuring Russell Westbrook & Damian Lillard![]() One of the dream trade targets for the Lakers in the deal involving Westbrook is All-Star point guard Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers. In a recent article, Lee Tran of Fadeaway World proposed a three-team blockbuster trade idea that would enable the Lakers to swap Westbrook for Lillard before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. In the suggested trade scenario, the Lakers would get Lillard, the Trail Blazers would receive Brandon Ingram, Devonte' Graham, Tomas Satoransky, and a 2023 first-round pick, and the New Orleans Pelicans would obtain Westbrook, Talen Horton-Tucker, Nassir Little, and a 2027 first-round pick. Lakers Replace Russell Westbrook With Another All-Star![]() Though it would require them to sacrifice Horton-Tucker and a future first-round pick, the proposed three-team blockbuster would still be a no-brainer for the Lakers. The Lakers have been eyeing to acquire Lillard since the 2021 NBA offseason. Before they engaged in a blockbuster deal with the Washington Wizards to get Westbrook, James and Davis met with Lillard to discuss his future in the league. Lillard may have been hesitant to leave the Trail Blazers during that time, but with his team likely heading into another huge disappointment, there's a strong possibility for him to change his mind before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. Damian Lillard Makes Lakers' Offense More Dangerous![]() Lillard would be an incredible acquisition for the Lakers. He may have encountered some struggles earlier this season, but he could still be viewed as a major improvement over Westbrook at the Lakers' starting point guard position. If he could regain his rhythm and become more consistent with his performance, he would make the Lakers' offense more dangerous this season. A "Big Three" of Lillard, James, and Davis would give the Lakers a better chance of fully dominating the Western Conference and winning the 2022 NBA championship title. Why Blazers & Pelicans Would Make The Trade? With the team expected to undergo a full-scale rebuild after Lillard leaves, acquiring a player like Ingram would make a lot of sense for the Trail Blazers. Ingram would give the Trail Blazers a new centerpiece of the next title-contending team that they will try to build in Portland. Aside from Ingram, Portland would also receive an immediate backcourt replacement for Lillard in Graham and a veteran playmaker in Satoransky. For the Pelicans, the proposed three-team trade would allow them to add a veteran leader in Westbrook. Westbrook may have some inconsistencies but if he could mesh well with Zion Williamson, he could still save the Pelicans' season and help them their playoff drought. ]]> |
