| Getting Festive! How Celebs Celebrated Christmas 2021 Posted: 26 Dec 2021 11:00 AM PST 'Tis the season! It's no surprise that stars love to celebrate Christmas just like Us. From cooking with their families to wearing matching pajamas, celebrities embrace the joy of the holiday season and share photos from the festivities when December 25 rolls around. Prior to Christmas, Jana Kramer got real about marking the holiday for the first time since her divorce from Mike Caussin. (The duo — who share daughter Jolie, 5, and son Jace, 3 — split in April after nearly six years of marriage and finalized their divorce in July.) "I wanted to start a whole new tradition since this year's the first one making new traditions [since my divorce]," the actress, 38, exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month. "So, I decided to put a tree in the master as well because trees just make me smile." Kramer noted that she wanted to include her children in the creation of new traditions. "What I'm looking forward to the most this Christmas is just making new memories with my kids. Enjoying every single minute and being truly blessed that it's us three. And we're happy and healthy," she continued. "We're also going to make some cookies because that was always a tradition growing up with my mom too." The One Tree Hill alum told Us in November that she was not ready to scrap all of the customs that she and Caussin, 34, had with the kids. "I'm looking forward to it, but I'm scared of it too," she explained at the time. "I want to do some of the same things that we've always done with the kids, which is, like, they [bake] cookies and decorate the tree together and open one gift on Christmas Eve." All in all, Kramer — who spent Thanksgiving apart from her children as they celebrated with the former football player — knew the holidays would be difficult for her post-divorce. "I can honestly barely talk about it without getting emotional," she confessed. "It's going to be rough." As for Reese Witherspoon, she revealed her one Christmas wish during her Wednesday, December 22, appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. "We're just doing the regular stuff. We're gonna be with my mom and hanging out with the whole family. Oh yeah, we dress up," she shared. "Trying to get all the family members in one picture is really my goal for the year." Witherspoon, 45, then quipped: "All I want for Christmas is all my kids in one photo. Smiling. Hopefully, smiling." Kim Kardashian's comedian beau’s mom was rumored to have attended the family's annual Christmas Eve party on Friday, December 24. While the 28-year-old Saturday Night Live star was not pictured at the festive gathering, eagle-eyed fans speculated that his mom, Amy Davidson, might have made the coveted guest list. The 41-year-old Skims mogul’s sister Khloé Kardashian posted an Instagram gallery of her silver party dress on Friday, and several fans thought they saw Amy, 52, in the background of one of the snaps. Social media users started flooding the 37-year-old Revenge Body host’s comments, discussing the merry party’s special guests. “IS AMY DAVIDSON (PETE'S MOM) W/ THE KARJENNER'S ON XMAS EVE !?,” an Instagram user speculated, as several other fans agreed. While the reality TV stars have not confirmed the final guest list for their soiree, other social media followers weighed in that the woman in question was either wedding planner Mindy Weiss or the Kardashians’ cousin Cici Bussey. The KKW Beauty CEO has been linked to Davidson since late October, the same month she hosted SNL. The romance came 10 months after she filed for divorce from Kanye West, with whom she shares daughters North, 8, and Chicago, 3, and sons Saint, 6, and Psalm, 2. Amid the 44-year-old rapper's public pleas to get Kardashian back in recent months, the reality star filed a petition to be declared legally single on December 10.  "Kim knows Kanye is a good person and respects him. She was surprised by his comments about wanting to get back together," an insider told Us earlier this month, adding that Davidson "is not worried about Kanye trying to get back with Kim" as "he's very laid-back and understanding." The source added, "Pete's mom really likes Kim and thinks she's very sweet. Kim and Pete are still having fun, but things are really heating up." Nearly one month after Tayshia Adams and fiancé Zac Clark called it quits on their engagement, she is taking her first post-split holiday in stride. "Beautiful, serene morning. Merry Christmas, everyone," the former Bachelorette season 16 star, 31, said via Instagram Story on Saturday, December 25, while standing on an empty beach in Laguna Beach, California. "And, it's honestly raining. It's full-on raining, right now. It's so magical." The ABC series cohost wore a cozy fleece-lined jacket and a red beanie, captioning her Story slide, "Merry Christmas to you & yours."  In a second caption, she opened up about how she was feeling in the moment, writing, "No better place to give gratitude, pray & reflect." Hours earlier, the California native was all smiles as she spent Christmas Eve with her family — laughing alongside her brothers. Nearly one month earlier, the former phlebotomist and the New Jersey native, 37, ended their engagement nearly one year after their proposal aired in December 2020. The duo, who first met on season 16 of the ABC series, "couldn't fully commit to each other," a source previously told Us Weekly in November. "They eventually realized it wasn't going to work and their relationship ran its course," the insider added, noting that they hadn't begun wedding planning. The Kardashian-Jenner family stayed booked and busy throughout 2021, sharing their highs and lows with the world, from breakups to engagements. The year started with a jaw-dropping divorce as Kim Kardashian ended her six-year marriage to Kanye West. Before news broke of their split, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the duo had a “big fight” that left the Skims CEO feeling “done” with the relationship. “Kanye blew up at Kim and she was really upset,” the insider noted at the time, adding that things between the pair seemingly never “healed” after the argument. As Keeping Up With the Kardashians came to an end, Kim broke her silence on the struggles she was facing at home. “I just honestly can’t do this anymore,” she said during a June episode. “Why am I still in this place where I’m stuck for years? Like, he goes and moves to a different state every year. I have to be, like, together so I can raise the kids. He’s an amazing dad, he’s done an amazing job.” The reality star believed West “deserves someone who will support his every move and go follow him all over the place and move to Wyoming,” which wasn’t something she was willing to do. “I feel like a f–king failure,” she said. “It’s my third f–king marriage. Kit Harington and Rose Leslie met while filming season 2 of Game of Thrones in 2011. While Harington starred as Jon Show in the HBO hit, Leslie made several appearances as Ygritte during seasons 2 to 4. While the actress' character was killed off in 2014, the twosome had begun an offscreen romance. After briefly calling it quits in 2013, Us Weekly broke the news that Harington and Leslie were back on in the summer of 2014. The Pompeii star later spoke candidly about falling for his costar in an interview with Vogue Italia. "Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love," Harington gushed in May 2016. "If you're already attracted to someone and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love." "We've got the boys, we got their cup-cups," Young shared Instagram Story footage on Saturday of her fiancé feeding their dogs, Percy and Chief, in the car before they took the pups for a walk around town. Shortly after the Bradley University alum accepted a proposal from the Texas resident during the Tuesday, December 21, season finale, the pair gushed about their future plans and starting a life together. "We're thinking summertime," Olukoya exclusively told Us Weekly after the finale aired. "In the near future, we'll put it that way." While they've already begun wedding plans, the former Bachelorette contestant revealed during After the Final Rose that he was set to move to his love's Minnesota in a few months and that they've started house hunting. "We are tired, but excited, running on adrenaline, just really happy that we can be out in the open. Just do, like, the smallest things, like, I think we're both really excited to walk through the airport together," Michelle told Us. "That's been something that's crossing my mind. We can finally get to do that today." "When you think about Mormonism, there's, like, a laundry list of things [you] don't ever do, which basically makes you perfect, and I am far from that, but so we just found Mormon religion in general is a choice," she elaborated at the time. "But for me, I'm like, you know what, I'm still an individual. I'm not like everybody else. So why would we all check off the same boxes? So I'm just doing Mormonism my way." Barlow added that the Mormon community in Salt Lake City loves that the franchise is in the area. "I think everyone in Utah wants to be on the show," she said. "I think some people might start coming back to church again when they figure out they can be Mormon 2.0." Despite her modern stance on the religion, the TV personality's costar Heather Gay told Us in December 2020 that Barlow is the best Mormon in the cast because "she defends it vehemently." This year, especially, I understand why,” Elizabeth, 95, explained in her annual broadcast, which aired on Saturday, December 25. “But for me, in the months since the death of my beloved Philip, I have drawn great comfort from the warmth and affection of the many tributes to his life and work – from around the country, the Commonwealth and the world.” She continued: “His sense of service, intellectual curiosity and capacity to squeeze fun out of any situation – were all irrepressible. That mischievous, enquiring twinkle was as bright at the end as when I first set eyes on him. But life, of course, consists of final partings as well as first meetings; and as much as I and my family miss him, I know he would want us to enjoy Christmas.” As the queen paid tribute to the late royal’s legacy, she noted how the holidays wouldn’t be the same without his joyful presence. “And for me and my family, even with one familiar laugh missing this year, there will be joy in Christmas, as we have the chance to reminisce, and see anew the wonder of the festive season through the eyes of our young children, of whom we were delighted to welcome four more this year,” the queen said. She further honored her late spouse with her sartorial choices, donning the same sapphire chrysanthemum brooch that she wore during her honeymoon with Philip in 1947. Us Weekly confirmed earlier this month that the queen would not travel to Sandringham House for the merry holiday, instead she's staying at Windsor Castle for a small gathering of her family members. However, daughter Princess Anne was notably absent after her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week. During last year's festive holiday, the sovereign spent the occasion at Windsor Castle with late husband Prince Philip — who died in April at age 99 — amid the country's lockdown. "Having considered all the appropriate advice, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have decided that this year they will spend Christmas quietly in Windsor," a Buckingham Palace spokesperson confirmed in December 2020. Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon gave Us Weekly an exclusive tour of the holiday decorations at their new coffee shop, Audrey's, and revealed how they honored Bachelor Nation at the eatery. "You might recognize this guy. We use our friend Ben Higgins‘ coffee," Haibon, 33, told Us while showing off a sign with the former Bachelor's face on it near the shop's front door. "It's called Generous Coffee, it's a nonprofit. It's incredible coffee. It's great tasting coffee and it's a great cause." The couple, who are expecting their first child together, have a Bachelor-themed custom sign above the store's fireplace as well. "Monday nights we drink wine and watch The Bachelor," it reads. "Tuesday mornings we drink coffee and recap."  The duo, who met on season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise and tied the knot four years later, explained that their Rhode Island coffee shop and lounge is named after Iaconetti's mom. It also features a giant mural done by one of their friends that pulls together all of the things they love: Haibon's home state of Rhode Island, The Bachelor, coffee and their family. When it comes to Christmas, the pair amped up the holiday decorations to make their place of work feel more welcoming. "We love this place for Christmas time because it came with this stone fireplace, which we put a little wreath on," Iaconetti, 33, told Us. "I went a little crazy at Home Goods." The space, which features another fireplace by the reading nook, was decked out with candle center pieces, a mini Christmas tree and lots of poinsettias. "We're a little concerned that we're starting off the place so strong, because the Christmas décor makes it so warm," the "Almost Famous" podcast cohost joked. Haibon also had a say in how they would deck the coffee shop halls this year, with the Virginia native saying that her husband was put in charge of the Christmas village. "I really wanted Snoopy, but Ashley wouldn't allow me," the "Help I Suck at Dating" podcast cohost told Us. "The reason we decorated like this, I really envisioned people coming in first thing in the morning, reading the newspaper. It feels like a living room. That was the goal." The entrepreneurs previously put their new business venture on display in their Christmas card. The Bachelor in Paradise alums posed in front of the shop's stone fireplace with their dog, Lois, to celebrate their last holiday season without a baby in the family. | Alec Baldwin Thanks Supporters Amid ‘Tough Time’ After ‘Rust’ Shooting Posted: 24 Dec 2021 11:45 AM PST While filming his movie Rust on Thursday, October 21, Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun that injured the director and killed another crew member. The incident occurred at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico. According to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department, the weapon was “discharged” by the 30 Rock alum, 63, and Deadline later reported that production on the Western was paused. “Mr. Baldwin came in voluntarily to speak with investigators,” sheriff’s office spokesman Juan Ríos noted in a statement, asserting that the situation would be treated like “any other investigation.” Detectives were trying to determine “what type of projectile was discharged” as the set remained on lockdown. The victims — director Joel Souza and director of photography Halyna Hutchins — were rushed to receive medical attention after being struck. Hutchins, 42, was pronounced dead at University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque. The 48-year-old filmmaker, for his part, was taken to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center via helicopter. While his condition was initially unknown, Deadline was told by Souza’s rep that he was released from the hospital on Friday, October 22. The movie’s production company, Rust Movie Productions LLC, noted in a statement regarding the accident, “The entire cast and crew has been absolutely devastated by today’s tragedy, and we send our deepest condolences to Halyna’s family and loved ones. We have halted production on the film for an undetermined period of time and are fully cooperating with the Santa Fe Police Department’s investigation. We will be providing counseling services to everyone connected to the film as we work to process this awful event.” Hutchins was originally from the Ukraine and had been sharing updates about the filming process with her Instagram followers ahead of her death. “One of the perks of shooting a western is you get to ride horses on your day off:),” she captioned a video of herself on Wednesday, October 20, as she joined a group on horseback. The Emmy winner broke his silence on Hutchins’ death on Friday via Twitter, writing, “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours. I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.” Before Baldwin addressed the incident, tributes poured in for the late cinematographer. “I’m in shock. I was so lucky to have had Halyna Hutchins as my DP on ‘Archenemy,'” Joe Manganiello tweeted. “An incredible talent & great person. I can't believe this could happen in this day and age… gunfire from a prop gun could kill a crew member? What a horrible tragedy. My heart goes out to her family.” Ava DuVernay left a comment on casting director Sidra Smith‘s Instagram post about Hutchins, writing, “Devastating. Absolutely horrific. The assistant director called out “cold gun” when handing Baldwin the weapon, the AD wrote in an affidavit, according to the New York Times. “Cold” means no ammunition is in the gun. The crew member “did not know live rounds were in the prop gun,” Detective Joel Cano declared in an affidavit. They accused the production of not properly following safety protocols, including gun inspections. The workers claimed that there were two accidental gun discharges on set before, with Baldwin’s stunt double allegedly firing a gun that was announced as “cold” only to find a live round in it. “There should have been an investigation into what happened,” a crew member alleged to the LA Times. “There were no safety meetings. There was no assurance that it wouldn’t happen again. All they wanted to do was rush, rush, rush.” Chris Pizzello/Invision/AP/Shutterstock  Many film and TV sets are taking action and vowing not to risk having “hot” or “live” — meaning loaded — weapons on set. ABC’s police drama The Rookie has officially banned live rounds. “As of today, it is now policy on The Rookie that all gunfire on set will be with Air Soft guns with CG muzzle flashes added in post,” showrunner Alexi Hawley wrote in a memo obtained by The Hollywood Reporter on Friday, October 22. “There will be no more ‘live’ weapons on the show. The safety of our cast and crew is too important.” Amazon Prime’s The Boys, which is known for its violent action sequences, will also forgo live rounds. Showrunner Eric Kripke, who worked with Rust cast member Jensen Ackles on Supernatural and The Boys, announced the news on Friday via Twitter. “In [Hutchins’] memory, a simple, easy pledge: no more guns with blanks on any of my sets ever. We'll use VFX muzzle flashes. Who's with me?” he wrote. Eric McCandless/ABC/Kobal/Shutterstock  This is not the first time a prop gun has led to fatalities on a film set. In 1993, the late Brandon Lee was killed during filming for The Crow after an improperly loaded prop gun was fired. His sister, Shannon Lee, reacted to the Rust incident on Thursday. "Our hearts go out to the family of Halyna Hutchins and to Joel Souza and all involved in the incident on 'Rust,'" she tweeted via a memorial account set up for her brother. "She was kind, vibrant, incredibly talented, fought for every inch and always pushed me to be better. My thoughts are with her family at this most difficult time. I am humbled and grateful by the outpouring of affection we have received from our filmmaking community, the people of Santa Fe, and the hundreds of strangers who have reached out. It will surely aid in my recovery." Producers told the outlet that an incident report was filed and a new assistant director was brought in. Andres Leighton/AP/Shutterstock  On October 22, a Rust crewmember named Serge Svetnoy shared a photo of Hutchins that he claimed was taken shortly before the fatal shooting. “This is the last photo with Halyna on set,” he wrote via Facebook. The snapshot showed the cinematographer shooting a scene with Baldwin in a small church on the New Mexico set. Two days later, Svetnoy shared an emotional post in which he revealed that he “was holding [Hutchins] in my arms while she was dying. Her blood was on my hands,” he wrote via Facebook on October 24. In that same message, the electrician stated that, in his opinion, Hutchins’ death was “the fault of negligence and unprofessionalism.” Courtesy of Halyna Hutchins/Instagram  Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirmed during a press conference on October 27 that a lead bullet was recovered from Souza’s shoulder after he was taken to the hospital. The bullet is believed to be the one that fatally struck Hutchins. Police also collected approximately 600 items of evidence, including 500 rounds of ammunition from the set, which were a mixture of “blanks, dummy rounds and what we are suspecting were live rounds,” according to Mendoza. During a September episode of the “Voices of West” podcast, the former model admitted “the best part” of her job was “just showing people who are normally kind of freaked out by guns how safe they can be and how they’re not really problematic unless put in the wrong hands.” Reed is the daughter of longtime armorer Thell Reed, who was Brad Pitt’s shooting coach on the 2007 film The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. However, the 24-year-old had only worked on one movie before landing the role of head armorer on Baldwin's western. The Hollywood rookie noted she had “figured” out most of the job's requirements on “my own” and said that “loading blanks” is the “scariest thing to me.” Jae C Hong/AP/Shutterstock  Gutierrez Reed's lawyers, Jason Bowles and Robert Gorence, released a statement to Us on October 29. "First Hannah would like to extend her deepest and most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Halyna," the statement read, referring to Hutchins as "an inspirational woman in film who Hannah looked up to." The statement went on to allege that she had been "slandered" in the aftermath of the shooting. "Safety is Hannah’s number one priority on set. Ultimately this set would never have been compromised if live ammo were not introduced," the lawyers claimed on her behalf. "Hannah has no idea where the live rounds came from. Hannah and the prop master gained control over the guns and she never witnessed anyone shoot live rounds with these guns and nor would she permit that. They were locked up every night and at lunch and there’s no way a single one of them was unaccounted for or being shot by crew members. Hannah still, to this day, has never had an accidental discharge." Though there have been reports that there were two accidental discharges in other situations on set, Gutierrez Reed's lawyers allege that others were at fault. "The first one on this set was the prop master and the second was a stunt man after Hannah informed him his gun was hot with blanks," they alleged. "Hannah was hired on two positions on this film, which made it extremely difficult to focus on her job as an armorer," they said in the October 29 statement. "She fought for training, days to maintain weapons, and proper time to prepare for gunfire but ultimately was overruled by production and her department. The whole production set became unsafe due to various factors, including lack of safety meetings. This was not the fault of Hannah." "I’ve been ordered by the sheriff’s department in Santa Fe, I can’t answer any questions about the investigation," Baldwin said. "I can’t — it’s an active investigation in terms of a woman died. "The guy is overwhelmed with grief," Baldwin said on October 30. "There are incidental accidents on film sets from time to time but nothing like this. This is a one in a trillion event, and so he is in shock [and] has a 9-year-old son. We are in constant contact with him. We’re very worried about his family and his kid, and we’re eagerly awaiting for the sheriff’s department telling us what their investigation has yielded.” Andres Leighton/AP/Shutterstock  Dave Halls, the assistant director on Rust, released a statement in which he praised his “friend” Hutchins. “I’m shocked and saddened by her death,” he said. “It’s my hope that this tragedy prompts the industry to reevaluate its values and practices to ensure no one is harmed through the creative process again.” He continued, “My thoughts are with all who knew and loved Halyna.” Halls did not address the details of the incident or the reports that he was the one who handed Baldwin the gun involved in the shooting. Davis’ post, which the actor shared via his Instagram account on November 2, claimed “the story being spun of us being overworked and surrounded by unsafe, chaotic conditions is bulls—t.” Davis stated that she “never worked more than a 12.5-hour shoot day,” saying that only happened once and “most days” were under the 12-hour mark. She recalled the day that Hutchins died, saying, “We had come off a 12-hour turnaround after an 11-hour shoot day,” noting they had a “56-hour weekend right before” the prolonged day. “No one was too tired to do their jobs,” she said. She refuted claims that the producers on the film didn’t care about their crew, writing, “They were some of the most approachable and warm producers I’ve ever worked with.” Davis explained that “concerns were heard and addressed” by the producers. According to her, the crew had a union rep who told production “not to give in to the camera crew” demands because they were asking for things that “the union does not require.” Davis alleged that she has spoken with the producers on the project since the accident, and they told her they have chosen not to defend themselves against the “blatantly false accusations” because they want the “focus to be on Halyna” and they want to “grieve and recover.” Kristina Bumphrey/StarPix/Shutterstock  Matthew Hutchins, the husband of the late cinematographer, has retained California-based law firm Panish Shea Boyle Ravipudi, according to Deadline. The actor, who has now made his Twitter profile private, also shared a screenshot of the tweet via his Instagram page. Her husband, Matthew, confirmed that a funeral was held on the weekend of Saturday, November 20, ET reports. Matthew revealed that Hutchins' grave marker has her name followed by ASC, indicating her association with The American Society of Cinematographers. The late mother's headstone also features images of a camera and film reel, emphasizing her passion for moviemaking. Underneath her years of birth and death is an inspirational quote: "Her light shapes our lives. Keep chasing your vision." Chris Pizzello/Invision/AP/Shutterstock  The It's Complicated actor sat down for an in-depth interview with ABC News more than one month after the tragedy, opening up about the aftermath of the shooting. In a clip from the December 2021 special, Baldwin cried while reflecting on what went wrong on set. "The trigger wasn't pulled. I didn't pull the trigger," he said. "I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them. Never. I have no idea [how a bullet got in there]. Someone put a live bullet in a gun. A bullet that wasn't even supposed to be on the property." Baldwin went on to say the incident was the "worst thing" that's ever happened to him, explaining, "Because I think back and I think, 'What could I have done?'" Lumeimages/MEGA  Baldwin confessed during his first sit-down interview about the incident that he didn't feel guilty, revealing, "I might have killed myself if I felt that I was responsible. I don't say that lightly." He continued to deny pulling the trigger, asserting that he was simply following Hutchins' directions on set. "I've been told by people who are in the know, in terms of even inside the state, that it's highly unlikely that I would be charged with anything criminally," he added. ABC News  Baldwin shared a two-page letter via Instagram in December 2021 that was written by the Rust crew, which defended the film’s production. The writers of the note clarified that the note had "not been sanctioned or influenced in any way by the producers,” but was intended to "express a more accurate account" of their "workplace tragedy." The letter stated that Hutchins was the “heart of the production” and “losing her hurt every single one of us." "We are hurting from the loss of our togetherness, our spirit, and the loss of our labor,” the message continued. “We are hurting for our friends that have been targeted by the public as they themselves grieve." While those who worked on the film said the production had its challenges, “the descriptions of Rust as a chaotic, dangerous, and exploitative workplace are false and distract from what matters the most: the memory of Halyna Hutchins, and the need to find modern alternatives to outdated industry firearm and safety practices.” imageSPACE/Shutterstock  Police sought a warrant to obtain the Boss Baby actor's cell phone in December 2021, according to Deadline, requesting the device to determine whether there might be "any evidence relating to the death investigation of Halyna Hutchins." A judge signed off on the paperwork, which stated, "Such information, if it exists, may be material and relevant to this investigation." At the time, Baldwin's lawyer noted, "We are confident that the evidence will show that Mr. Baldwin is not responsible civilly or criminally for what occurred on October 21, and he continues to cooperate with authorities."
