Dua Lipa Reportedly Earned $2.5 million Each Month In 2021

British singer and songwriter Dua Lipa has come a long way since the start of her music career in 2013.

After releasing her first album in 2017, Dua has produced hits after hits that not only got her accolades, including three Grammy awards, but her beautiful looks, coupled with her deep voice, has also won her fans' hearts.

The 26-year-old also modeled for a while but later quit to focus on her music. Owing to the successful career that earned her worldwide acclaim within a short period, there's no doubt that Dua Lipa makes a lot of money.

But this year turned out to be particularly lucrative for her, as she reportedly earned over $2.5 million each month.

Financial Success

According to The Sun, the "Levitating" hitmaker has become one of the music industry's top earners after she reportedly almost doubled her wealth this year by earning a whopping £1.9million — which is equal to US$2.5 million — each month.

The singer is earning so much money not only through her music sales and endorsement deals with brands like Evian water and Yves Saint Laurent, but her touring company, Dua Lipa Live LLP, also adds massively to her wealth.

Her financial documents revealed that in 2021, Dua made around £28 million (US$37 million) through the company.

Net Worth

Per Sunday Times Rich List 2021, Dua Lipa's net worth was £36 million (US$47.6 million) as of May this year. As compared to that, the singer's net worth was reportedly between US$1.1 million to US$1.4 million in 2019, per The Things.

While it seems like a piece of cake to release hit numbers each year and continue to make money, it wasn't easy for the songstress.

"I feel like especially on streaming services for me having been a new artist…pretty much until you put out your second record, you're kind of considered a new artist… it's a lot of hard work to be heard and be seen," she told First Post in an exclusive interview.

Humble Beginnings

While Dua Lipa is one of the richest musicians in the world today, she — like many other celebrities — comes from a humble background. According to The Guardian the singer's parents, Anesa and Dukagjin Lipa, used to work as waiters in cafes and bars while continuing their education.

She told the publication that her parents had to flee their native country, Kosovo, because "war was coming."

Prior to moving to the UK, her father was studying to become a dentist, while her mother was enrolled in a law course. But after settling in London, both had to give up their careers to make ends meet and sustain their growing family.

How She Spends It?

Since the "New Rules" singer is loaded, it shouldn't come as a surprise that she loves to splurge on herself. According to The Richest, Dua lives in a huge mansion in London.

The luxury real estate, per the piece, not only has a stunning exterior made up of brick walls and white-and-emerald tiles, but the interior also boasts fancy furniture and quirky decors.

The Grammy-winning singer has also spent a lot of money buying luxury cars, including a BMW M4 worth $90,000 and an Audi A6, which costs about $135,000.

While Dua also splurges on her luxurious wardrobe and her uber-expensive manicures, she is also charitable.

Emmy-winning Zendaya and Holland first interacted with each other on the sets of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016. In the movie, Holland played the role of Peter Parker, while Zendaya starred as his classmate, MJ. Since then, the two actors were cast in two more Spider-Man films, which naturally increased their interactions.

According to PEOPLE magazine, rumors started circulating at the time that the two were romantically linked, and a source told the magazine that the "couple" had secretly gone on vacations together.

"They've been super careful to keep it private and out of the public eye but they've gone on vacations with each other and try and spend as much time as possible with one another," the source had told the magazine.

Constant Denial

While rumors were spreading about their brewing relationship, both continued to deny being into each other in a romantic way. Holland even said that Zendaya is his best friend.

"We are like the best of friends. She's so great and amazing. I'm a little worried [about dealing with fame … but] Zendaya is super famous and she's been through this and I just call her up and say, 'How do I manage being famous?' I'm very glad I have a friend like her," Holland had said, per PEOPLE.

On the other hand, Zendaya took to Twitter and made fun of the rumor about the two going on vacations, saying that she has never done so. Holland also joined her and said: "Does the press tour count?"

Dating Other People

Since fans and speculators were going crazy over the couple's alleged romance, Zendaya and Holland started dating other people. In 2019, Zendaya was reportedly linked to actor Jacob Elordi after they starred together in Euphoria.

However, the Lakers aren't expected to trade Westbrook just for the sake of getting him out of Los Angeles. If they decide to move him, it would likely be in a deal that would strengthen their chances of reclaiming their throne this season.

Lakers Could Trade Russell Westbrook For Ben Simmons

One of the potential trade targets for the Lakers in the deal involving Westbrook is All-Star point guard Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers. Though they are yet to make Westbrook officially available on the trading block, the Lakers are already starting to be linked to Simmons, who has been finding his way out of the City of Brotherly Love since the 2021 NBA offseason. Sixers Daryl Morey 'Still Likes' Russell Westbrook

The success of the potential Simmons-to-Lakers blockbuster depends on whether the Sixers view Westbrook as an All-Star. However, according to an anonymous general manager who spoke to Heavy.com, the man who's calling the shots in Philadelphia, Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey, "still likes" Westbrook.

"I think Morey still likes Westbrook and there could be a deal in there," the anonymous general manager said. "I think you would need a third team to make the money work because the Lakers do not have a lot of middle-tier guys or draft picks they can add to get the Sixers' interest."

The connection between Westbrook and Morey would likely play a major role in the potential Lakers-Sixers blockbuster involving Simmons. Westbrook and Morey worked together on the Houston Rockets for one year. Morey was the team's general manager when the Rockets executed a trade that sent Chris Paul to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Westbrook.

The pairing of Westbrook and James Harden may not have produced an NBA championship title for the Rockets, but it still gave Morey a glimpse of how good a player "The Brodie" is.

For the Sixers, swapping Simmons for Westbrook is about trading a disgruntled star who is on indefinite leave for a player who could immediately contribute on the court. The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the teams that are expected to make major moves before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. The Sixers may be slowly finding their way back to the top of the Eastern Conference, but they obviously need more help around Joel Embiid to have a realistic chance of reaching the NBA Finals and capturing the Larry O'Brien Trophy in the 2021-22 NBA season. As of now, they are still hoping that they could trade Ben Simmons for the likes of Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal.

However, if Lillard and Beal won't be available, the Sixers are better off exploring other options on the trade market.

Proposed-Three Way Blockbuster Involving Ben Simmons

Recently, Bobby Marks and Kevin Pelton of ESPN discussed three realistic trade options for the Sixers involving Ben Simmons. These included a hypothetical deal that would send Sabonis to the City of Brotherly Love. For the deal to work, both analysts agreed that the Pacers and the Sixers would need to find a third team.

Marks suggested that the Pacers and the Sixers could engage in a three-team deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. In the proposed trade scenario, the Sixers would get Sabonis, Collin Sexton, and Cedi Osman, the Pacers would receive Simmons, and the Cavaliers would obtain Caris LeVert.

Sixers Get Two Starters & Solid Bench Player For Ben Simmons

The proposed three-team blockbuster trade with the Cavaliers and the Pacers would undeniably be worth exploring for the Sixers. Though none of them are legitimate superstars, swapping Simmons for Sabonis, Sexton, and Osman would strengthen the Sixers' chances of making a deep playoff run in the 2021-22 NBA season.

Sabonis and Sexton would give the Sixers two starting-caliber players. Sabonis could serve as Embiid's frontcourt partner or primary backup, while Sexton could fill the hole left by Simmons in the Sixers' backcourt. Osman would provide the Sixers a reliable bench scorer who could step up in the starting lineup when one of their starters needs to rest or suffers an injury.

Domantas Sabonis & Collin Sexton's Availability Via Trade

Between the two starters that the Sixers could get in the potential three-team trade, Sabonis is the only one who is currently available on the trade market. With the Pacers struggling in the 2021-22 NBA season, Shams Charania and Bob Kravitz of The Athletic reported that they are planning to undergo a "substantial rebuild" and have started listening to offers for their veterans, including Sabonis.

However, that doesn't mean that the Cavaliers won't entertain suitors for Sexton. Though Sexton is yet to become officially available on the trading block, rumors have been swirling around him since the 2021 NBA offseason. If the Cavaliers don't have any plan of giving him a huge payday, it would be best for them to trade Sexton now than risk losing him in the 2022 NBA free agency without getting anything in return.

Sixers' Plan B

If they don't think that the Sabonis-Embiid pairing would work and don't want to handle Sexton's free agency, Marks suggested another three-team blockbuster trade for the Sixers. The Sixers and the Pacers are still involved but instead of the Cavaliers, the Sacramento Kings would serve as the third team.

"The other thought is finding a third team such as the Sacramento Kings for Sabonis. The framework of Simmons to Indiana, Sabonis and LeVert to Sacramento and De'Aaron Fox to the 76ers works," Marks said.

Colleagues 'Shellshocked' After Chris Wallace Leaves Fox News For CNN

Veteran anchor Chris Wallace ended his broadcast on Sunday with a shocking announcement.

"It is the last time -- and I say this with real sadness -- we will meet like this," he told Fox News viewers.

"I want to try something new, to go beyond politics to all the things I'm interested in. I'm ready for a new adventure," is how Wallace ended his broadcast, without offering an explanation.

On Monday morning, it was revealed that Wallace left Fox News to join CNN's upcoming streaming service CNN Plus.

CNN Plus

CNN Plus, which is also stylized as CNN+, is launching in early 2022 and Wallace will host a show featuring interviews with people "across politics, business, sports and culture."

CNN president Jeff Zucker said in a statement that the 74-year-old anchor's appointment "speaks volumes about our commitment to journalism and CNN+, and we are thrilled to have Chris on the ground floor of helping us build the next generation of CNN and news."

But why did Wallace decide to leave Fox News after 18 years?

Leaving Fox News

Wallace is known as a tough interviewer, as he tends to pose challenging questions to all of his guests, regardless of their political affiliation.

His tendency to treat Democratic and Republican politicians equally and grill them in interviews stood out on Fox News, which has -- especially in recent years -- leaned into hyper-partisan coverage.

Wallace has reportedly objected to some of his colleagues' biased coverage, especially to popular host Tucker Carlson over his "conspiratorial content."

Unlike other Fox hosts, Wallace has repeatedly criticized former President Donald Trump, once accusing him of engaging in "the most direct, sustained assault on the free press in our history."

'Shellshocked' Colleagues

Most people at Fox News had no idea Wallace was leaving, a person familiar with the matter told The Washington Post.

News of Wallace leaving reportedly left many of his now-former colleagues "shellshocked." The network has not named a replacement for Wallace as host of Fox News Sunday yet -- several anchors will rotate in the position until a permanent replacement is found.

According to Carl Cameron, who worked for Fox News for 22 years, Wallace always "worked hard" on his show and was "cautious" about getting into internal disputes.

Reactions

Fox News issued a brief statement after Wallace announced his departure, saying "we are extremely proud of our journalism and the stellar team that Chris Wallace was a part of for 18 years."

"Sad to see Chris go -- he's had an amazing run at Fox News Sunday," host Bret Baier wrote in a tweet.

"Chris Wallace had an incredible run. He served as a great example of how to do news - and do it well - during tumultuous and often disorienting times. It was an honor to appear on his panel. Eager to see what comes next," former Fox News commentator Stephen Hayes said on Twitter.

An unidentified woman fell overboard a Carnival Cruise Line ship and into Pacific Ocean waters early Saturday morning, according to reports.

United States Coast Guard crews have searched for the woman for over 30 hours, but to no avail. The Mexican Navy also assisted in the search, since the woman apparently fell off near Ensenada, Mexico.

The cruise ship left the Long Beach Cruise Terminal on Thursday, and was scheduled to return Saturday.

But what really happened and how did the woman fall overboard?

Suspected Foul Play

The woman fell overboard from the fifth-floor balcony of her stateroom around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Many passengers believe foul play was involved, according to Daniel Miranda, a Northern California firefighter paramedic.

"Someone has lost their life, whether it was done by accident or by foul play I don't know -- there's some high suspicion of foul play. A lot of people are concerned because that's somebody's life, and that's a high likelihood that this person will not be found alive," Miranda said.

Initial Searches

U.S. Coast Guard crews began searching for the woman as soon as they could, and Miranda tried to help them.

"They immediately did their best efforts to get crews out on little boats and rescue, to start a search. They had crew literally around the deck to look all the way around the ship to be able to see if somebody was out in the water," Miranda explained.

"They had lights out in the water trying to flash out there, but again it's pretty dark," he added, noting that he believes around 1,100 passengers were on board of the cruise ship.

Falling Overboard

Carolyn Spencer Brown, a cruise industry veteran and chief content officer of Cruise Media LLC, told The New York Times that it is highly unlikely the woman accidentally fell overboard.

"It's becoming much more uncommon than it was 20 years ago," Brown stated, pointing to the "increasingly sophisticated design specifications" such as those required per the 2010 Cruise Vessel Security and Safety Act.

"They are designed to keep you safe. You really don't hear about it very often, and when it happens, typically there are other factors involved," she said.

Carnival Miracle

The cruise ship the woman was on, called Carnival Miracle, can host up to 2,100 passengers. Carnival Cruise Line did not provide details about how the woman fell from the ship.

In a statement released on Saturday, the company said, "we advised Carnival Miracle guests this morning of an overboard incident involving one of our guests from the balcony of her statesroom... Our thoughts are with the guest and her family, and our care team is providing support."

FBI agents reportedly went to the ship on Monday "with an evidence response team."
