Celebrity Weddings of 2021: Stars Who’ve Tied the Knot Posted: 19 Dec 2021 07:00 PM PST Even a pandemic can't stop wedding bells from ringing. As the world slowly began to open back up in 2021 following the COVID-19 crisis, stars were eager to exchange vows. First came Alexander Ludwig and Lauren Dear, who announced they'd eloped in Utah following a one-month engagement on January 4. Next up, Jennifer Wayne and Austin Moody wed on January 9 after a two-week engagement. “I’m still in complete shock but I'm humbled and honored to introduce you to Mrs. Moody,” the bluegrass musician wrote via Instagram at the time. “Now more than ever, I am able to truly admire and appreciate everything she is. I’ve never met anyone so kind and generous to people she knows as well as complete strangers. Without even knowing it, she teaches me how to be a better person every day that I am with her. I can't believe I got to marry my best friend … Jennifer, now I stand before the world a brand new man because of the love you've shown me. From this moment on you will never walk alone.” Another 2021 trend? Secret weddings! Aubrey Plaza subtly revealed on May 7 that she and her longtime beau, Jeff Baena, tied the knot by referring to him as her "darling husband" in an Instagram post. "Whoa!!!! Just took in the word husband and I am sending you both love and congratulations and blessings!!!!! Just over a week later, Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez got married in a secret ceremony. "It was tiny and intimate — less than 20 people," Grande's rep told Us Weekly on May 17. "The room was so happy and full of love. The couple and both families couldn't be happier." Us confirmed the pair's engagement five months earlier. "Ariana is beyond excited. She has really enjoyed getting to know and falling in love with Dalton out of the spotlight, something she didn't get to do in her past relationships," an insider said in December 2020. "They are so in love and committed to spend the rest of their lives together." Other 2021 newlyweds included two Duggar brothers — Justin Duggar and Jed Duggar — who married Claire Spivey and Katey Nakatsu, respectively. "We are overjoyed about adding another daughter-in-love to our family," Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar wrote via Instagram to celebrate one of their son’s weddings. "Jed and Katey have enjoyed a quiet, low-key relationship that has allowed them to prepare for a beautiful life together. Congrats to this wonderful couple on their wedding day! We are excited to see how their story continues to unfold in the future." Surprise! The Band Perry's Kimberly Perry Secretly Married Johnny Costello Posted: 19 Dec 2021 04:45 PM PST Their best-kept secrets! From Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner‘s Las Vegas vows to Niecy Nash‘s hush-hush ceremony, some celebs have hidden their wedding days from the public eye. The Jonas Brothers singer and the Game of Thrones alum tied the knot two times in 2019: first during a private ceremony in Las Vegas and again in France in front of friends and family. Clips from their Vegas nuptials were shared online by Diplo and took everyone by surprise — even Jonas’ parents. “Well, in my mind, you know, that was the legal portion of the marriage,” the DNCE singer said during a radio interview in June 2019. “So I was thinking, like, ‘Look, this is not the most important day. There’s an important day, I mean, I’ll keep private, but ahead of us. So we were, like — this is, like, just whoever’s in town.” The former Disney star later revealed that his mom and dad, Denise and Paul Kevin Jonas, learned about their son’s legal ceremony secondhand. “[My parents] have an amazing restaurant in North Carolina and I think, like, a couple of their staff walked up and were, like, ‘Congratulations! I saw.’ And then they had to find out,” he said, teasing that he was “doing a lot of apologizing” in the aftermath. The Jonas family aren’t the only ones who’ve been late to the party. Some celebs have made their big announcements solely via social media, leaving fans and followers shocked by the reveal. “Mrs. Carol Denise Betts,” Nash wrote via Instagram in August 2020 alongside a photo from her wedding to singer Jessica Bettes. In a separate post on her Instagram Story, the Claws star joked, “#PlotTwist.” Niecy was previously married to Don Nash from 1994 to 2007 and to Jay Tucker from 2011 to 2019. In February 2020, the When They See Us star tearfully discussed the end of her second marriage, admitting that she and Tucker were “better friends than life partners.” “The one that made me laugh the most was an ode to him being attractive. [They said] ‘Well, you never had to put a sack on his head to sleep with him,'” she said of her family’s reaction to her divorce. “I replied, ‘What about my happiness?'” Scroll down to see more stars who married in secret! ![]() After the Pretty Little Liars alum gushed over his beau while celebrating their 18th anniversary together, Ross let it slip that the pair had secretly tied the knot. Bella Giannulli, for her part, wrote on Saturday: "If you have GAC, be sure to check out this wonderful woman's performance tonight. It also airs on IMDB & Amazon." The Dancing With the Stars season 30 alum, 22, also shared a second message of support, gushing over the 57-year-old Full House alum's talents. "Check out the 2-hour holiday special of WHEN HOPE CALLS tonight on the new GAC Family Network! 8pm ET/ 5pm PT," the influencer wrote via a second Instagram Story snap. "Mom doesn't have Instagram so I've made the decision that I will be taking it upon myself to promote for her because I love her and she is a wonderful woman and actress. That's all! Tune in weeeeee. #hearties #gac family #whenhopecalls." She jokingly added in her post, "See I know the fandom name and the hashtags and everything. Where’s my check?" ![]() Loughlin, for her part, acted for the first time since her prison sentence after her involvement in the nationwide college admissions scandal, reprising her When Calls the Heart role on the When Hope Calls spinoff. During the Saturday premiere of the GAC Family series, the 90210 alum reprised her role as Abigail Stanton during the two-part episode, titled "A Country Christmas." Loughlin was originally cut out of the Hallmark Channel series, which she starred on from 2014 to 2019, after she was indicted that March. Amid the scandal, the historical drama went on hiatus to edit her scenes out. When the Hallmark fan-favorite show returned, her character was written off in a May 2019 episode to take care of her ailing mother back East. Two years later, the actress' character returned to Hope Valley with her adopted son, Cody (Carter Ryan Evancic). She reunited with Lillian (Morgan Kohan), who's now the sole owner of the New Hope Orphanage. Elsewhere in the episode, Loughlin's Abigail got a special visit from Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing). While Jack had previously died during season 5, he appeared in an emotional dream sequence during Saturday's episode to deliver a message to his wife, Elizabeth (Erin Krakow). "Will you let her know that I am happy that she is moving on with her life?" Jack asked Abigail during the episode. "And let her know that she is doing a fine job with little Jack, and I cannot be more proud of both of them. … And one more thing: You tell her that true love never dies. I know that now more than ever." Loughlin's character tearfully replied, "Oh, Jack. There is so much that she wants to tell you." The New York native and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were previously accused of paying bribes to secure their daughters’ admission to the University of Southern California. The duo later pleaded guilty to fraud charges in May 2020 before each serving a prison sentence. Loughlin was released in December 2020, and Us Weekly confirmed in September that she would return to the WCTH universe for her first acting gig since the scandal. "Lori can't wait to get back to work, she has been waiting a long time to get back on set," an insider exclusively told Us at the time. "Lori is looking forward to the future and is ready to get back to filming When Hope Calls." Olivia Jade, for her part, recently finished up competing on DWTS, often gushing about her mom's own invaluable support. "Literally right after we got off the stage, I called her! She's the biggest support ever. She's really proud of me and I love her so much," Olivia Jade told Us Weekly and other reporters in October. "She's, like, my hero. So it's really nice to know she's watching and she's really proud. … Mama bear! She's excited." |

Forbidden Romance! Tom Holland, Zendaya Told Not to Date on 'Spider-Man' Set Posted: 19 Dec 2021 12:56 PM PST Forbidden romance! Tom Holland and Zendaya‘s instant chemistry on the Spider-Man set left executive producer Amy Pascal concerned that her leading actors would start a real-life romance — so she told them not to date. “I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first cast them and gave them a lecture,” Pascal, 63, revealed in a Friday, December 17 interview with The New York Times. Of course, romance rumors have long swirled around the couple until they were photographed packing on the PDA in July. Snaps of Holland and Zendaya, both 25, kissing in a car in Los Angeles finally confirmed that they were in a relationship. Pascal, however, warned them back in 2016 before they filmed Spider-Man: Homecoming to keep the chemistry onscreen. “Don't go there — just don't. Try not to,” Pascal recalled telling them. The producer also warned Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone about set romances when they played Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man, which was released in 2012. The couple dated for four years, until they split for good in 2015, a year after their final Amazing Spider-Man movie hit theaters. “I gave the same advice to Andrew and Emma. It can just complicate things, you know?” the producer explained. “And they all ignored me.” ![]() Pascal, who has worked on every Spidey flick, might have some experience with the complicated side. While Stone and Garfield didn’t split until after their franchise wrapped, Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst started dating while making their first Spider-Man film and split before filming the second. “They apparently began dating with each other, I think, in the middle of the first movie … although I didn’t know it at the time … but definitely they eventually broke up before the second movie,” director Sam Raimi told the Sydney Morning Herald in 2007 as the third film in the Maguire-led franchise was released. Raimi continued, “I was concerned they wouldn’t get the same chemistry back, but it was just me worrying. They really like each other, I think, very much. And that relationship probably just added to their ability to trust each other.” Clearly, Holland and Zendaya didn’t have trouble working together. The England native is even campaigning to work with his love again on another project, HBO’s Euphoria. "Listen, I have been petitioning for this for a long time, and it has not happened yet," Holland told IMDb in response to a fan question about when he would make a cameo on the teen drama. "I must have come to visit Euphoria at least 30 times this season," he added. Season 2 started filming in Los Angeles in the spring before wrapping up in November, but Holland stayed off camera — much to his dismay. “I want to be in Euphoria," the Marvel star whined to his costar. Zendaya, who won an Emmy for her role as teen addict Rue Bennett on the show, told him she’d work on landing him a spot . "Let me talk to some people," she said. "HBO, let's get them on the phone." For now fans can see the couple on the big screen as Peter and MJ in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which hit theaters on Friday, December 17. |
Bah Humbug! Larry David, Miley Cyrus and More Celebs Who Hate Christmas Posted: 19 Dec 2021 12:55 PM PST Bah humbug! The holiday season is the most magical time of the year for a lot of people, but some celebrities have more in common with Scrooge than Santa Claus. Miley Cyrus has been candid about her struggles around Christmas and wants her fans to know they aren’t alone. The “Prisoner” singer shared a “Sad Christmas Song” in December 2019, which she penned during a lonely period in her life. “A sad Christmas song I wrote a few years back right before the holidays,” Cyrus wrote via Instagram at the time. “Was feeling like s–t cause I couldn't be with the one I loved. Even with a house full of family and friends I still felt alone. In ways that still feels relevant and someone reading this right now could possibly relate!” She added, “If you feel lonely this season just know YOU ARE COMPLETELY MADE OF MAGIC! You are as special as a snowflake, beautifully unique and I hope inside your soul feels light, hope, peace, and joy knowing how singularly amazing YOU are! Love always wins!” One year later, Cyrus revealed she wanted to have a “goth Christmas” vibe for the holiday season. “I want an all-black tree this year,” she explained on the KISS FM Breakfast Show in November 2020. “I wanna do, like, goth Christmas. I think instead of a garland do, like, rosaries, like, upside-down studded crosses and like, yeah, very goth, medieval kinda vibes.” The Hannah Montana alum added that Christmas with her family always ends in “fistfights, and usually with each one of us removing ourselves and slamming the door in some way and a lot of apology texts." Cyrus added, "I mean we’re all kind of conspiracy theorists and I remember one year we got onto the topic of, like, aliens and it ended with my brothers not talking for a week and my mom crying." Colin Firth isn’t the biggest fan of Christmas cheer either. The actor told the Daily Mail in November 2009 that he has a “profound loathing” of the holiday. “At this time of year, I am careful not to switch on the radio because those novelty jingles make me homicidal and plunge me into the heart of Scrooge territory,” he said at the time. “I think Christmas turns us all into Scrooge. Everyone is trying to throw happy stuff at you, and that's when I come over all humbug." Keeping scrolling to see more celebrities who hate Christmas: ![]() “I’m a creature of habit and can’t tolerate anything that throws me off my normal routine,” the Seinfeld creator wrote in a December 2021 Air Mail essay. “That’s why I detest all holidays, but none as much as Christmas. There’s the loathsome music. The movies with their ridiculous, treacly sentiments. The presents—thinking about them, shopping for them (never without resentment), and the attendant pile of garbage that accumulates from opening them, an environmental disaster simultaneously taking place in living rooms across the country.” Danny Moloshok/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() The "Wrecking Ball" singer shared her melancholy thoughts on Christmas via Instagram in 2016. “Call me the grinch but Christmas always makes me feel deeply sad," she wrote at the time. “It is filled with so much excessiveness & greed. I just hope everyone gives the gift of love and acceptance this year to not only their own family but those around the globe who don’t get everything they wished for due to life’s unfair circumstances! My parents always made Christmas about others. And I hope you find it in your heart to do the same!” Shutterstock ![]() The "Crazy Train" singer admitted in December 2009 that he's not a fan of the consumerism behind Christmas. "I have to unravel all these f--king presents. What a f--king waste of paper,” he told Express at the time. “I f--king hate Christmas. I f--king hate it. Everything stops. When I used to drink, it was a good excuse to get f--ked. Now, I just hate it.” Shutterstock ![]() The 'Rain on Me" singer took out her aggression around the holiday season when she bit a Santa toy during a concert in 2010. “I hate the holidays. We both hate Christmas,” he told the Mirror at the time. And I was like, ‘I’m fine, I don’t need anything, I don’t want it.’” COOLMedia/NurPhoto/Shutterstock ![]() The Mamma Mia! star told the Daily Mail in November 2009 that he isn't interested in Yuletide celebrations. When Waltz was asked what he wanted that year, he replied, “No Christmas. That’s my biggest wish, no Christmas.” Shutterstock ![]() The Friends star now throws an annual tree-trimming party for her friends — but she used to despise her family’s yuletide traditions. “When I was a kid, they used to make me belly dance. On Christmas Eve,” she told Entertainment Weekly in 2016. “My dad’s whole side of the family is Greek, so I would dress up as a little Greek girl and then on Christmas, after taking belly-dancing classes, I would do that. It had nothing to do with Christmas, even. It was just, ‘Let’s humiliate Jen on Christmas.'” Willy Sanjuan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() The Rogue One: A Star Wars Story actor told Celestrellas in 2010 that Christmas didn't feel authentic to him. "I hate the wave of consumerism and the feeling that you have to do things that you normally don't have to do at any other time of the year," he said at the time. Shutterstock ![]() The Oasis singer doesn’t just hate Christmas, he hates it “with a passion.” In a 2017 speech, he referred to what many consider the most wonderful time of the year as a “f–king stain on society” that includes “too much food, too much ‘We Are The World,’ the jumpers, the TV presenters, the s–t adverts, the f–king weather.” Tell us how you really feel, Noel. MAFS’ Jamie Otis Shares Touching Holiday Tradition to Honor 'Angel' Son Jonathan Posted: 19 Dec 2021 11:00 AM PST Always in their hearts! Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner gave Us Weekly an exclusive tour of their RV holiday decorations and revealed how they honor their "angel" son Jonathan every year. "This is the first year that we're going to celebrate Christmas in an RV," Hehner, 38, exclusively told Us of the couple's digs, which they moved into earlier this year to work on their marriage. After picking up their two children — daughter Henley, 4, and son Hendrix, 19 months — from school, Hehner and Otis, 35, treated the little ones to a decorating party. They all worked together to put up a third tree inside the vehicle, in addition to other festive items like a snow rug, pinecones and a light-up fox and squirrel. "Because every RV has to have a light-up fox," Hehner joked. The Married at First Sight alums, who recently visited Otis' family, also brought back their daughter's Elf on the Shelf to kick off the holiday excitement. Hehner then enlisted the help of his eldest child to start decorating the mini fake tree, before pointing out a special ornament that they make sure to put on display. "Jamie and I tried to get a lot of ornaments that were relevant for this year. Henley got her ballerina," he said, before holding up the angel wings for their late son, Jonathan, who was stillborn in 2016. "He was our firstborn [who] was too good for earth. So we always have angel wings to put on the tree for Jonathan." Otis chimed in, "He went to heaven to be an angel," hence the sweet ornament. The Bachelor alum explained that the family makes sure to "buy presents for little boys who would be Jonathan's age" every year and donate them in his honor. The New York native previously reflected on the loss of Jonathan on Rainbow Baby Day in August. "I've never wished for my children to stop growing up or to stay little forever," Otis captioned throwback photos from her pregnancy with her daughter in 2017. "I thank God every. single. day that they have been able to grow big and strong because their older brother, Johnathan, wasn't able to. I'll always wish there had been *something* I could have done to protect Johnathan and keep him safe so he could be here with us." The Hanging With the Hehners YouTube star noted that her pregnancy loss was the "sharpest pain" she's experienced mainly because she had to go into labor with him at 17 weeks and then deliver him. "[I] didn't want to let him go. If they would've let me walk out of that hospital with him, I would have," she continued. "Instead, I just held him, kissed him, and rocked him until they took him from me." The Wifey 101 author, however, believes that Jonathan is "looking down watching over his little sister and baby brother making sure they're safe, healthy, and strong." She added that Johnathan will "forever be my baby boy and I will never, ever stop honoring you or talking about you to anyone who will listen." The couple, who wed in 2014, have been vocal about their relationship ups and downs, including their desire to live in closer quarters to try and help bring them back together. "We are moving our family of 4 into an RV and we are hoping that by decluttering & simplifying our lives we will be able to strengthen our marriage & focus on what's most important in life: family & love," Otis wrote via Instagram in October. Throughout the clip, Tanner and his fellow wedding guests can be heard cheering loudly for the happy couple. Tanner, 29, wasn't the only Riverdale star in attendance. The costars, who all sat at adjoining tables, gushed over their pal's big day via their respective social media pages. We'd be sitting in the middle of a field in the rain and this would be the best …" Throughout his speech, Morgan panned her camera around her costars' seats. The Carnegie Mellon alum, for his part, later confirmed the pair's nuptials with a sweet selfie of the duo showing off their rings via Instagram Story. "They're aware of their responsibilities coming up. … Luckily, we kind of planned a lot in the very beginning, and now we're into the details, which is fun and exciting and stressful. But we're having a blast. We are in full-blown planning mode. We may or may not be doing our food tasting this week." At the time, the actor revealed that the pair anticipated having a small ceremony amid the coronavirus pandemic. "My family lives in the States, obviously, and her family, they're Canadian," he told Us. Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinart, Camila Mendes and Vanessa Morgan are among the Riverdale stars whose offscreen relationships have made headlines over the years. So viewers were ecstatic to discover the duo were a real-life couple when they were first linked in July 2017. After dating on and off for more than two years, the costars called it quits in 2020. "Lili and I initially separated in January of this year, deciding to more permanently split in March," Sprouse explained via Instagram in August 2020. "What an incredible experience I had, I'll always feel lucky and cherish that I had the chance to fall in love. I wish her nothing but the utmost love and happiness moving forward. All I'll say about it, anything else you hear doesn't matter." As for the Chemical Hearts star, she revealed that she felt like she was "dying" during the aftermath of the split. "It was f—king rough, and there's no other way through it than just through it," she told Refinery29 that same month. "I've seen a lot of people when it comes to heartache and grief and breakups, and they try to get that void filled with sex, with coke, with food, with drinking, [but] the void is still there. I took the road less traveled and just dealt with my s—t. I had to face my own pain head-on." Sprouse and Reinhart were not the only Riverdale stars to pair up off screen. Mendes also dated Charles Melton from 2018 to 2019. "I write letters to my girlfriend," the Sun Is Also a Star actor exclusively told Us Weekly in 2019. J. Lo Responds to Claims She Was 'Angry' at Ben Affleck's Jen Garner Comments Posted: 19 Dec 2021 09:33 AM PST ![]() Setting the record straight! Following Ben Affleck's controversial remarks regarding his marriage to Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Lopez has denied claims that she was upset with what her boyfriend said. "This story is simply not true,” the Marry Me star, 52, told People on Saturday, December 18. "It is not how I feel. I couldn’t have more respect for Ben as a father, a coparent and a person." The Grammy winner's denial came days after the Argo director, 49, opened up about his previous relationship with the 13 Going on 30 star, also 49. "We had a marriage that did not work. This happens. It is somebody I love and respect, but to whom I should not be married any longer," Affleck — who wed the Denison University alum in 2005 — said during an episode of The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday, December 14. "I was like, 'I can't leave because of my kids, but I am not happy. What do I do?' What I did was drink a bottle of scotch on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution." After the Massachusetts native admitted that he "would probably still be drinking" had the exes not gotten a divorce, noting, "And then we said, 'You know what? We tried. We tried because we had kids.'" At the time, Affleck — who shares children Violet, 16, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, 9, with Garner — noted that the pair, who separated in June 2015, had an amicable breakup. “Did we have moments of tension? Did we have disagreements over the custody? Was stuff difficult for us? Did we get angry? Yes,” he told Howard Stern. “But fundamentally it was always underpinned with respect. I knew she was a good mom. I hope that she knew that I was a good dad. I was. I had to get sober — I knew that too — and I acknowledged that. I said, ‘You’re right. I’ve got to quit drinking.'” Shortly after Affleck's radio show appearance, he faced backlash over his comments about their former marriage. "Because the movie [The Tender Bar] is about family and all this stuff that is meaningful to me, [Howard and I] talked a lot about my family and divorce and alcoholism and struggling with real things and how you have to be accountable and loving and how I work with my ex-wife and how I'm so proud of the way that we work together for our kids," the actor addressed the criticism during a Wednesday, December 15, appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! "The irony is I was really happy with it." ![]() Affleck — who was sweetly supported by the "Let's Get Loud" songstress during the late-night show — continued: "I had gone on and said how much we respect each other and cared about each other and cared about our kids and put them first and went through our stuff. They said that I blamed my ex-wife for my alcoholism and that I was trapped in this marriage and just made me out to be the worst, most insensitive, stupid awful guy. … I would never want my kids to think I would ever say a bad word about their mom." The Oscar winner and Lopez previously rekindled their 2000s-era romance earlier this year after her April split from ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez. "Jen and Ben are both very happy with each [other] and are excited to see where the relationship goes," a source exclusively told Us Weekly in May. "They are full-on dating and very happy together." Since then, Lopez — who shares 13-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony — and the Good Will Hunting star's romance has continued to flourish as they've blended their families. The couple even spent Halloween alongside Garner and their children this year. "Everyone's focus was on all of the kids having a great holiday," a second source exclusively told Us last month. "All the parents were very civil with each other, everyone was happy that they could bring the kids together because all the kids get along so well with each other.” |
Date Night! Kim K., Pete Davidson Go to the Movies Amid Downsized ‘SNL’ Posted: 19 Dec 2021 07:54 AM PST ![]() Back in Staten! As Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian's romance has continued to heat up, the pair indulged in a low-key date night at the movies. The Freak Brothers star, 28, was photographed inside a local movie theater in his native Staten Island, New York, on Saturday, December 18, alongside the Skims mogul, 41, via Page Six. While few details about the pair's date night have been revealed, they were also spotted alongside Scott Disick. The 38-year-old Talentless founder — who shares children Mason, 12, Penelope, 9, and Reign, 7, with the Selfish author's sister Kourtney Kardashian — was also seen at the same cinema. ![]() The pair's Staten Island date night made headlines shortly after Saturday Night Live, in which Davidson is a featured player, announced a smaller cast and crew amid rising coronavirus concerns. "Due to the recent spike in the Omicron variant and out of an abundance of caution, there will be no live audience for tonight's taping of Saturday Night Live and the show will have limited cast and crew," a spokesperson for SNL told Us Weekly via a statement on Saturday. "The show continues to follow government safety guidelines in addition to a rigorous testing protocol." While the show aired pre-recorded sketches and past favorites, the King of Staten Island star made a splash during his "Night With Pete" skit. In the taped segment, Davidson played an older and accomplished version of himself while teasing his sex symbol status (though he didn't reference his recent romance with the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum) and longtime friendship with rapper Machine Gun Kelly. The newly dating couple, who first connected on the NBC set in October after her hosting debut, made headlines earlier this week after Kim played coy about her favorite member of the NBC cast. ![]() "What a setup, what a setup, Bari," the mother of four — she shares North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2, with estranged husband Kanye West — revealed on the Thursday, December 16, episode of the "Honestly With Bari Weiss" podcast, while seemingly alluding to the comedian. "You know who it is." After the pair's initial meeting (and stage kiss) during her SNL hosting gig, they seemingly confirmed their romance weeks later during several NYC dates before holding hands in Palm Springs, California. "The past few years of Kim's life have been super intense a lot of the time, so this is a real positive transition for her," a source previously told Us last month of the duo’s romance. "She's learning to move past day-to-day stresses and focus on the fun and sexy things." |
Relive Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve Parties Through the Years Posted: 19 Dec 2021 06:01 AM PST Oh, what fun it is to attend a Kardashian Christmas Eve party! The famous family is known for throwing an extravagant bash every year. The tradition began with Kris Jenner, but Kim Kardashian and sister Kourtney Kardashian have since picked it up for their mom. When the momager passed the baton on a June 2019 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians to Kim, she broke down in tears. "I want you guys to be able to do this until you're my age and one of your kids takes over. That's the joy," the In the Kitchen With Kris author told the KKW Beauty creator at the time. "It's just the thought of actually not doing at my house. … I'm getting emotional. It makes me sad. It does. It makes me so sad. It's just that magic that you can make, and make everybody feel so amazing on one night a year. It's that love." Jenner added: "It's not just a party. It's changing of the guards." After getting her mom's "blessing," Kim went on to explain her decision to take over the party planning. "Our Christmas Eve party was always this fun party that I just remember being friends and family and my grandparents and cousins. It was just the best night ever," the Selfish author said in a confessional. "But my mom's been doing it for so long that it's turned into something different. It's kind of a party just for my mom and mostly her friends. We want it to be a place that we can just have fun and it's all of our friends and definitely family and my mom's friends, too. But a good mix of both so we can have a good time and really just enjoy each other." From Kim reuniting with Paris Hilton one year, to North meeting Santa Claus, the bash is always a memorable one for lucky guests. The famous bash, however, doesn't always go off without a hitch. Khloé Kardashian announced in December 2020 that the family's beloved celebration would not be happening for the first time in 40 years amid the coronavirus pandemic. "The Covid cases are getting out of control in CA," she said via Twitter. "So we decided that we're not doing a Christmas Eve party this year. Trevor Noah Files Lawsuit After Alleging Doctor Botched 2020 Surgery Posted: 18 Dec 2021 06:15 PM PST ![]() Going to court. Trevor Noah has filed a lawsuit against a New York City-based orthopedic surgeon and hospital after an allegedly botched operation in 2020. The Daily Show host, 37, filed a complaint last month, citing negligence after having "serious personal injuries" upon his recovery from surgery. According to the court docs obtained by Us Weekly, the Born a Crime author alleges that such ailments left him "rendered sick, sore lame and disabled.”. Per the complaint, the South Africa native further claimed that he also "sustained severe nervous shock, mental anguish, severe emotional distress and great physical pain" amid his recovery, noting that he was "confined to bed and home for a long period of time" and has been "prevented from engaging in his usual occupation." The docs also alleged that "since some of his injuries are of a permanent nature, he will continue to suffer similar damages in the future." Noah claimed that the defendants — including the Hospital for Special Surgery — were "negligent and careless in failing to treat and care for [him] in a careful and skillful manner." Details about what type of surgery the TV host had and why remain private. In response to the comedian's suit, the hospital has denied any claims of wrongdoing. "HSS received a complaint filed on behalf of Mr. Trevor Noah. We have shared with Mr. Noah's attorney a detailed rebuttal to the claims, which are meritless," a representative for the hospital told Law & Crime via a statement earlier this month. "Due to HIPAA, we are restricted by law from addressing publicly specific aspects of the treatment of any patient. HSS is committed to excellence in the care we provide to each of the more than 150,000 patients we treat each year. This commitment has made HSS the world's leading academic medical center specialized in musculoskeletal health, consistently ranked #1 in orthopedics globally and nationally." Per its website, HSS is one of the oldest orthopedic hospitals in the United States. "HSS is the world's leading academic medical center focused on musculoskeletal health," a description on its website read. "At its core is Hospital for Special Surgery, ranked No. 1 in orthopedics for 12 years in a row by U.S. News & World Report (2021-2022). HSS has also been among the top-ranked hospitals for both orthopedics and rheumatology for 30 consecutive years." While Noah, for his part, hadn't publicly addressed his 2020 surgery, he aired a late-night episode on November 19 before his November 23 operation. After seven days off, he later returned to the show on November 30.

NBC confirms to Us Weekly that the cast will be downsized and live audience removed amid concerns about the rise in positive COVID-19 cases. “Due to the recent spike in the Omicron variant and out of an abundance of caution, there will be no live audience for tonight's taping of Saturday Night Live and the show will have limited cast and crew,” a spokesperson for SNL said in a statement to Us on Saturday, December 18. “The show continues to follow government safety guidelines in addition to a rigorous testing protocol.” The announcement was made at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday, less than seven hours before the broadcast. It isn’t clear which cast members will be included in season 46, episode 9. I am devastated and heartbroken,” the singer, 29, shared via Instagram on Saturday afternoon. “Myself, Caroline, Christine and all of our crews and teams have worked so hard all week alongside the SNL team to bring the most amazing musical performance to live. It can’t happen this time, but I’ll be back! I am verdantly safe and healthy but of course very sad. Please look after yourselves out there and make sure you get vaccinated if you haven’t already. Lots of love, Charli.” SNL’s scaling down comes amid skyrocketing positive COVID-19 cases in New York City have forced various other productions to close their doors. Broadway shows including Hamilton, Moulin Rouge!, Jagged Little Pill and more have gone dark amid breakthrough cases of the delta and omicron variants. Even The Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes unexpectedly closed. MSG Entertainment announced on Friday, December 19, that the Rockettes took their last bow for 2021 more than two weeks ahead of schedule. "We had hoped we could make it through the season and are honored to have hosted hundreds of thousands of fans at more than 100 shows over the last seven weeks," MSG Entertainment said in a statement. "We have loved bringing back this cherished tradition that helps usher in the holiday season in New York City and look forward to welcoming fans back to Radio City Music Hall in 2022." After the downsized December 18 episode, the Saturday Night Live cast will go on their traditional holiday hiatus. The comedy is expected to return to NBC in January. |
