Penélope Cruz Changed The Storyline For Her The 355 Character

What's better than an actor who knows their onion? Someone who can contribute positively to a script, and that's the definition of Penélope Cruz. Most directors and co-stars who've worked with the Spanish actress testify about her work ethic and contributory skill.

She brought her magic into "The 355" set when she insisted her character go in a different direction than the scriptwriter intended.

She Knows What She Wants

Cruz had a list of demands regarding her character in The 355 Graciela. Contrary to the popular government agent trope where characters are perfect badasses who know what they want, Penélope wanted Graciela to be human. She asked that her character be flawed – being perfect at her job but clueless at other things.

In his Variety interview, director Simon Kinberg said, "Initially, we imagined the character being more action-oriented, but Penélope said she'd seen the stereotypical fiery Latina character, and wanted to go in a completely different direction."

Family-oriented At Work And In Real Life

Kinberg said, "She wanted her primary concern to be the safety of her family. She's the person who sort of resists the mission they're on, and that makes it more interesting." Coincidentally, fellow actress Diane Kruger stated that's the same way Cruz is in real life. She admired the Spanish actress' marriage to Javier Bardem.

While presenting Cruz's MoMA award, Kruger commended the couple to work as a unit and inspire her. Being a new mother back on the job, Kruger got some parenting tips from Cruz, including, "Just always make them feel like they're welcome no matter what happens."

Awardee Museum of Modern Art

On Dec. 14, the Museum of Modern Art and Chanel honored Penélope Cruz celebrating film at its 14th annual Film Benefit. The mother of two accepted her award, surrounded by industry friends turned family. She shared some pictures with her Instagram followers, one of which had her flanked by Diane Kruger and fellow Oscar Award Winner Anne Hathaway.

Other celebrity invitees included Rosalia, Ricky Martin, Leslie Mann, and many more. Her years of hard work are finally paying off.

The 355

The 355 movie which is a tribute to the first female American spy Agent 355 employed by Washington, hits the theaters in January 2022. However, it was set to release earlier this year; the producers pushed the release due to Covid-19 complications. The film promises to be action-packed and emotional with an all-female A-list cast, including Oscar Award Winner Lupita Nyong'o and Nominee Jessica Chastain.

Cruz plays a compassionate Colombian DNI agent who's worried for her family's safety yet focused on executing her mission. Her demands changed the trajectory of Graciela's character, who was supposed to be all brawn and no feelings.

Dr. Dre To Pay Nicole Young $100 Million In Divorce Settlement

Dr. Dre's year-long divorce has finally reached a settlement, with his ex-wife Nicole Young set to receive $100 million from the 56-year-old rap icon, payable in two increments. After 24 years of marriage, the 51-year-old lawyer, who filed for divorce in June 2020 after accusing her partner of domestic abuse, will be walking away with more than one-fifth of the Compton rapper's fortune and roughly half of his liquid assets, per Rolling Stone.

While both TMZ and the Daily Mail are reporting that Dre (born Andre Romelle Young) is worth $820 million, Consequence states his fortune only amounts to $458.2 million, while Celebrity Net Worth estimates it at $500 million.

As such, Young is getting just over 20 percent of his assets, despite originally seeking half, with the hip-hop mogul reportedly feeling "delighted" to have managed to "only" pay her $100 million.

$50 Million Increments

Under the terms of their property settlement agreement, which news outlets report seem favorable to Dre, the former NWA member will be able to split the $100 million payment into two equal shares to be received by Young now and in one year.

It's also been reported that the reason she's not getting half of his assets is a prenup that the former couple had signed in 1996, which she challenged claiming it was signed under "duress."

Insiders close to Dre told TMZ that Young could have scored an even better deal if she had settled sooner and agreed to her ex's terms last year, with Dre reportedly being open to paying more at that time.

"She could have even been on the field for the Super Bowl halftime show as a friendly ex-wife," said one source.

Dividing Properties & Cars

Dre, who earlier this month celebrated the divorce by posing in front of a massive "Divorced AF" balloon bouquet, will retain seven of the properties he has shared with Young, per the settlement. The rapper will be holding on to their Malibu home, two Calabasas estates, and four Los Angeles properties, including their $100 million Brentwood mansion.

Meanwhile, he's saying goodbye to four vehicles in favor of Young -- a Rolls Royce, a Range Rover, a Spyder motorcycle, and an escalade limousine -- while keeping six for himself.

Master Recordings & Trademarks

Likewise, Dre is retaining the rights to his master recordings, as well as all of his trademarks and commercial partnerships and trusts that he's already invested in. This includes the Apple stock he earned following the sale of his Beats by Dre company for $3 billion in 2014, which netted the mogul over $800 million at the time.

The divorce settlement also stipulates that Young won't be getting any spousal support, putting a stop to the $293,306 monthly payments that Dre has been required to make following a previous temporary order from the judge overseeing the divorce.

She's Keeping Jewelry & More

While she won't be getting any more money in the future apart from the $50 million Dre is set to pay in a year's time, Young is walking away with all the bank accounts she has managed throughout their marriage.

In addition, she'll be keeping the entirety of her "pricy" jewelry, along with all of her possessions that Dre had placed in storage after she filed for divorce last summer.

Young will also have to pay her own legal fees, which reportedly are expected to amount to millions of dollars given their lengthy acrimonious divorce.

Dre and Young married in 1996 and share two adult children, 24-year-old son Truice and 20-year-old daughter Truly.

While the rapper has denied all abuse allegations by his ex-wife, the Daily Mail notes that he has been accused of abusing women multiple times throughout his career.

Last week, Sex and The City fans got their long-awaited revival in the form of the new spin-off, And Just Like That. However, something, or rather someone noticeably missing from the quartet friendship group. Not everyone is ready to accept that Kim Cattrall's character Samantha Jones wouldn't join the rest of her sisterhood.

Many fans were relieved to discover the show didn't kill off her character (thereby canceling every possibility of a reappearance. However, we're not sure holding out hope would yield positive results because Cattrall maintains her stance on not wanting any parts of the new show.

Sneak-Dissing And Liking Controversial Tweets

Amidst fans tweeting up a storm on the premiere night of the new show And Just Like That, Samantha's (Kim) stans supported her decision to pull out of the franchise. Some even mentioned they were boycotting the new series in solidarity for Kim's new show How I Met Your Father featuring Hilary Duff as her younger self. Being a major talking point of the season premiere, it's not surprising that Cattrall followed up on the gossip.

She took it a step further when she liked some shady tweets dissing the AJLT in support of her new projects. Not one to bite her tongue, especially regarding her dislike for SJP, Kim liked a fan's tweet seemingly expressing her thoughts. The tweet alluded to her old interview with Piers Morgan, where she cited making empowering decisions as her reason for leaving.

What Happened Between Kim Cattrall And Her Co-Stars?

Reports first hit the internet about ten years ago that Kim and fellow Sex and The City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker weren't friends as they portrayed in the film. In her 2017 Piers Morgan interview Cattrall said the relationship with her SATC co-stars was toxic as they never tried to reach out or ask after her.

She told Piers in the interview that it was a clear decision to end that chapter of her life as a 61-year-old and open a new page. SJP had a different reaction saying she didn't recall their relationship as toxic the way Kim said. She also expressed hurt over the situation, telling Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that she was heartbroken.

Kim Wasn’t Having It

In 2019, when Kim Cattrall lost her brother, Sarah Jessica Parker showed support by offering condolences, but she rebuffed the concern. Cattrall then amped the beef by calling SJP out in a scathing Instagram post, saying, "I don't need your love or support at this time, @sarahjessicaparker." She then threw more expletives in her caption, insinuating SJP is a pretender as she was cruel during the films.

She finished the post saying they weren't family or friends. Even though Cattrall has the same energy towards the other co-stars, Sarah Jessica Parker received the most vim.

A Possible Samantha Spin-Off?

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

Although Kim's character didn't appear physically in the new series, her name made a cameo. Much like the planned SATC 3 plot, when the pilot episode of AJLT killed off Chris Noth's character, Mr. Big, SJP's character Carrie Bradshaw received flowers and a note saying, "Love, Samantha." Fans went into a speculation frenzy, theorizing this as a backdoor to a possible spin-off.

In the very least, if the spin-off falls through, having Samantha move overseas leaves room for her return any time. The writers and producers certainly would love to have her back on set.

It's an influencer – whether a model, movie star or some other type of celeb – who shares their literary interests with their millions of followers on Instagram. Think style influencer, but books instead of fashion. Or Oprah's Book Club, but in the digital age. Over on TikTok, these well-read creators go by the name "BookTokkers."

The 20-year-old daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford started her book club on IG in March 2020, when the pandemic was just beginning and people were looking for ways to entertain themselves during lockdown. She posted about it, saying, "i know we are all feeling isolated right now, so I was trying to think of easy ways we can stay connected (beyond just scrolling) and decided i'm gonna start a book club. i read a lot on my own, but would love to be able to talk to you guys about it."

Driving Sales And Followers

In terms of sales, it's clear that "bookfluencers" like Gerber, Ratajkowski and Jenner are just as effective for authors and publishers as style influencers are for fashion brands. As another example, when Gerber and Ratajkowski featured Alisson Wood's Being Lolita on their lists, the author saw a spike in book sales as well as in social media followers. Kaley Cuoco can't get enough peanut butter and she's detailed the whole obsession. The 36-year-old sitcom star, who made mid 2010s headlines for revealing she eats the "same" little bit of peanut butter on toast every morning, opened up to NY Mag this year, listing ten things she can't live without and making sure her trusty nut butter was on the list.

The Flight Attendant actress vows by a brand offering jars at $10 a pop, although she actually listed almond butter in this particular interview.

Kaley, whose super-fit body gets shown off on Instagram where her 8 million followers know to expect a workout, did list the $50 Rollga Foam Roller as one of her top 10s, but talk quickly turned to food as she name-dropped Justin's $10 Honey Almond Butter.

"The first thing I eat when I wake up every morning is this on toast. Sometimes I'll take a spoon to it, or have it with a banana, or put it in smoothies. My sister actually introduced me to the brand," she began.

NBA Rumor: Three Potential Trade Deadline Targets For Indiana Pacers

After hiring Rick Carlisle as their new head coach, the Indiana Pacers headed into the 2021-22 NBA season with the goal of fully dominating the Eastern Conference and winning the NBA championship title. Unfortunately, as of now, the Pacers aren't playing like a team that is ready to capture the Larry O'Brien Trophy. So far, they are sitting in the No. 13 spot in the Eastern Conference with a 14-20 record.

With their current struggle, some people started questioning if the Pacers are still eyeing to remain competitive or already planning to undergo a rebuilding process.

Pacers Moving Toward Substantial Rebuild

Earlier this month, Shams Charania and Bob Kravitz of The Athletic shared an interesting rumor about the Pacers. The Pacers still have plenty of games left to turn things around this season, but they are reportedly considering the idea of undergoing a "substantial rebuild."

"In need of a new direction amid a 10-16 start to the season, the Indiana Pacers are moving toward a substantial rebuild and are expected to open up trade conversations around some of their veteran stalwarts, sources tell The Athletic," Charania and Krovitz wrote, as quoted by NBC Sports.

If they decide to take a different route, the Pacers are expected to trade their veterans for young players who could be part of their long-term future.

Pacers Get A New Centerpiece

One of the most intriguing trade targets for the Pacers is All-Star point guard Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers. The Pacer would no longer wait for Simmons to be available on the trading block since he has been finding his way out of the City of Brotherly Love since the 2021 NBA offseason.

Simmons may still have some major flaws in his game but compared to all the young players on the Pacers' roster, he has more potential to become a legitimate superstar in the league. After successfully acquiring him from the Sixers, the Pacers could immediately make him the centerpiece of the next title-contending team that they will try to build in Indiana.

Cam Reddish Becomes Part Of Pacers' Rebuilding Plans

If the Pacers undergo a full-scale rebuild, it would be necessary for them to add more young players that they could develop. According to Nicolas Kyle Pring of Fansided, the Pacers should strongly consider adding an up-and-coming star like Atlanta Hawks small forward Cam Reddish to their list of trade deadline targets.

"One player loaded with potential that the Indiana Pacers should try to make a move for is Atlanta Hawks wing Cam Reddish," Pring wrote. "Reddish, the 10th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, has turned heads this season with his electric play off the bench for the Hawks. After juggling between undefined roles in his first two seasons, the Duke product seems ready to make a huge leap."

Pacers Resume Pursuit Of Gordon Hayward

If the Pacers want to overhaul their roster without giving up on their plan to return to the playoffs, targeting Charlotte Hornets small forward Gordon Hayward would make a lot of sense. The Pacers have long been interested in adding Hayward, an Indiana native, to their roster. Hayward is currently not available on the trading block, but the Hornets may consider moving him for the right offer.

In the proposed trade scenario by NBA Analysis Network, the Pacers would be sending Myles Turner, Jeremy Lamb, and a 2023 first-round pick to the Hornets in exchange for Hayward and two future second-round picks.

It won't be surprising if the Knicks expressed strong interest in acquiring Davis before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. The Knicks have been eyeing to add Davis to their roster from the time he demanded a trade from the New Orleans Pelicans in 2019. However, to get Davis from the Lakers, the Knicks would need to sacrifice one of their core players.

In the proposed trade scenario, the Knicks would be sending Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson, Evan Fournier, a 2022 first-round pick, and a 2023 first-round pick to the Lakers in exchange for Davis.

For the Timberwolves to consider trading for Davis, their main man, Karl-Anthony Towns, must express his desire to leave Minnesota. Instead of keeping a disgruntled superstar, Bitar suggested that the Timberwolves could offer him and a 2022 first-round pick to the Lakers in exchange for Davis. This would be one of the best offers that the Lakers could get for AD.

Warriors Finally Get Anthony Davis

The Warriors were also among the top suitors of Davis on the trade market before he was traded to the Lakers in the summer of 2019. Like the Knicks, the Warriors would also have to give up one of their best guys to convince the Lakers to engage in a blockbuster deal. In the potential deal that would send Davis to Bay Area, Bitar proposed that the Warriors could offer James Wiseman, Draymond Green, and Jordan Poole to the Lakers.
