Next Steps! Harry Styles Has Met Girlfriend Olivia Wilde’s Kids Posted: 21 Dec 2021 12:53 PM PST ![]() Another major step! As Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde continue to open up more about their relationship, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly that the pair have “started getting to know each other's families.” According to the insider, Styles, 27, met Otis, 7, and Daisy, 5, whom Wilde, 37, shares with ex Jason Sudeikis. The Booksmart director has also been introduced to the musician’s mother and “all the meetings have gone very well.” The source notes that following the successful family moments, the couple are looking to spend “some of this holiday season together.” Wilde, who was spotted attending her boyfriend’s concert with her children and parents in November, has previously discussed why she isn’t hiding her dating life from her kids. "Parenting forces you to be honest about how you live your life. It puts in sharp, clear focus decisions you're making," she told Vogue in her January 2022 cover story, published earlier this month. "I think we owe it to children to be happy. They sense it. They're so intuitive. The idea that you can trick your kids into thinking you're happy is ludicrous." The New York native, who split from Sudeikis, 46, in November 2020, noted that she had "no time" for others trying to make her feel “guilt and shame" for how she balances parenting and dating. "You can go deep on Cold War influences on family structure, why we all think we need, you know, a two-parent household and a microwave," Wilde added at the time. "The work I've done personally in the last decade has been learning to have a voice and taking my voice seriously." The House alum also addressed how finding someone special has made her stop caring what other people think. "It's obviously really tempting to correct a false narrative. But I think what you realize is that when you're really happy, it doesn't matter what strangers think about you. All that matters to you is what's real, and what you love, and who you love,” Wilde shared. "In the past 10 years, as a society, we have placed so much more value on the opinion of strangers rather than the people closest to us. I'm happier than I've ever been. And I'm healthier than I've ever been, and it's just wonderful to feel that." Styles and Wilde originally sparked dating rumors after they met on the set of Don’t Worry Darling late last year. The former One Director member was spotted holding hands with the director at his manager’s wedding after replacing Shia LaBeouf in the upcoming psychological thriller. A source told Us at the time that the duo tried not to draw too much attention themselves while working together on set. “Olivia and Harry were able to keep their relationship under wraps for a bit before it became public knowledge,” the insider revealed. “They were very careful about it and even sleuthy at times, although the small group of people who were on set with them every day eventually figured it out.” With reporting by Travis Cronin |
Chris Noth's Ex Beverly Johnson Claimed He Tried to 'Kill' Her in 1995 Posted: 21 Dec 2021 12:45 PM PST ![]() As Chris Noth‘s alleged history of sexual assault continues to make headlines, his ex Beverly Johnson‘s 1995 restraining order has resurfaced. The model, now 69, dated Noth, now 67, from 1990 to 1995, filing a temporary restraining order against him at the Los Angeles Superior Court that August. At the time, Johnson requested that the actor stay 500 yards away from her, her daughter, Anansa Sims, and their dog, claiming that the Sex and the City alum had made threats against them. “Chris Noth punched me in the chest and ribs, injuring my ribs, making it difficult to breathe, punching and bruising my face and body in which I had to have medical attention,” the New York native alleged in the docs, which were obtained by Page Six on Tuesday, December 21. “On July 27, 1995, he made repeated threats on my life making up to 25 calls per day threatening to kill me [and] destroy my face. [He] threatened to kill [the] dog.” Johnson also asked the court to enforce that Noth “make no calls to others with threats against me. Restraining from slandering my character + good name.” In October 1995, a judge signed off on the temporary request. Noth’s attorney confirmed to Us Weekly on Tuesday that the pair agreed to “mutual restraining orders,” with Johnson’s rep clarifying that the arrangement “lasted until 2017.” (A rep for Noth alleged an incident occurred between the now-exes at the premiere of 1993’s Carlito’s Way.) Both Noth and his ex-girlfriend agreed to the order’s terms, pledging to stay at least 500 yards away from each other and any family members, as well as from the residence of the other party and their place of work. The former couple were required to not “contact, molest, attack, strike, threaten, sexually assault, batter, telephone or disturb the peace of the other,” and agreed to avoid making derogatory statements about each other. “Neither party shall make any derogatory statements about the other of any nature or description to another person or entity not encourage or participate in any party making any such derogatory comments about the other to any third person or entity,” the judge declared at the time. Johnson’s past claims recirculated after the And Just Like That star was accused of sexually assaulting multiple women. On Thursday, December 16, two women shared their alleged experiences with The Hollywood Reporter, with one alleged victim claiming she felt “violated” after having sex with Noth at his New York City apartment in 2015. (He married Tara Wilson in 2012.) Zoe, the other accuser, alleged the Good Wife alum “laughed” when she suggested he wear a condom during their supposed encounter in 2004. She told THR that she went to the hospital to report the assault, but didn’t reveal Noth’s name at the time. The Wisconsin native, who was axed from CBS’ The Equalizer amid the allegations, denied any wrongdoing in a statement to Us. “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false,” he claimed. “These stories could've been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross.” Noth continued: “The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.” The accusations have led to professional consequences, with Peloton scrapping the ad Noth starred in following the premiere of And Just Like That. Several of his costars have spoken out amid the controversy, including Cynthia Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis, who issued a joint statement after a third alleged victim came forward. (Noth denied the allegations published by the Daily Beast on Friday, December 17.) “We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth,” the trio noted via their respective Instagram Stories on Monday, December 20. “We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it much be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.” If you or someone you know have been sexually assaulted, contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673). |
Ravens Forever! Best ‘One Tree Hill’ Cast Reunions Through the Years Posted: 21 Dec 2021 12:39 PM PST Ravens for life! One Tree Hill hooked viewers in with its dramatic story lines — but the cast's real-life friendships are what keeps fans talking about the teen series nearly 20 years after its premiere. "We've known each other for almost two decades now. Our friendships have changed immeasurably," Sophia Bush exclusively told Us Weekly in December 2020 of her dynamic with BFFs — and former costars — Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz. "We've been through so many stages of life together. But I think something that we really cherish — Hilarie and I were talking about this not too long ago — is just having, interestingly enough, as we've all gotten older, having our friendships deepen even more." Bush, Burton and Lenz played high schoolers Brooke Davis, Peyton Sawyer and Haley James Scott, respectively, on the CW series, which premiered in 2003. While the show ended in 2012 after nine seasons, the women's bond has remained intact. "We all got to go through this wild ride together and it's a thing that's ours. No one else can really share it with us in the way that we can," Bush, who cohosts the "Drama Queens" podcast with her two pals told Us. "It's such a special thing to leave a journey like that and maintain really deep and trusted connections and we all are able to support each other and inspire each other and it's something I just really cherish." Through the years, the show's leading ladies aren't the only ones who've kept in touch. The teen drama — which followed the lives of half-brothers Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty) and their complex relationship as basketball players and siblings — also created long-lasting friendships among the show's male actors. Lafferty and Stephen Colletti (who played Chase Adams), for example, reunited in 2020 to write, produce and star on Hulu's Everyone Is Doing Great. “We lived enough life to realize and look back on our lives since One Tree Hill had actually ended to say things have been absurd and difficult and wonderful at the same time, enough for us to find some real humor here and a story to tell,” Lafferty told Entertainment Weekly at the time of the show, which is loosely based on their real-life experiences since leaving the teen series. “And we built some characters around some of these experiences that we’ve had or this world that we’ve been exposed to, and what we ended up doing was finding a story that both of us could really relate to.” One Tree Hill also starred Lee Norris (Marvin "Mouth" McFadden), Paul Johansson (Dan Scott), Antwon Tanner (Antwon "Skills" Taylor), Barbara Alyn Woods (Deb Scott), Jackson Brundage (Jamie Scott), Moira Kelly (Karen Rose), Barry Corbin (Whitey) and Craig Sheffer (Keith Scott). Shantel VanSanten, Austin Nichols and Robert Buckley joined the cast in later seasons as Quinn James, Julian Baker and Clay Evans, respectively. Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim: The Way They Were Posted: 21 Dec 2021 12:16 PM PST From coworkers to costars to friends to dating to exes! Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim had serious history before taking their relationship to the next level in 2021. The soap star met Jason and his twin brother, Brett Oppenheim, when she started working for The Oppenheim Group in 2018. During her first year at the agency, the group, which also includes Christine Quinn, Heather Rae Young, Maya Vander and Mary Fitzgerald, started filming the Netflix reality show Selling Sunset. When the pair met, Stause had recently married Justin Hartley. The actress and the This Is Us star split in November 2019 while she was filming season 3, with Stause alleging she found out about the divorce petition via text message. "Because of the crazy way in which this went down, people want answers, and I f—king want answers," she told Fitzgerald on the 2020 season of the show. "I know people are saying we were only married two years, but it's like, we were together for six years. … In a fight, that's his go-to, you know? Like, 'I'm out, I'm out.' I hate that kind of impulsive stuff, but I always just thought, you know, that's just an issue that we work through it." Following the divorce, Stause competed on Dancing With the Stars and was dragged into partner Gleb Savchenko's messy split from his now-ex Elena Samodanova in November 2020. Both Stause and Savchenko denied that their relationship was anything but professional at the time. The real estate agent did, however, briefly date fellow professional dancer Keo Motsepe. They split in February 2021 after a few months of dating. "Keo was caught in a web of lies," a source told Us at the time. "He's not denying the fact that he lied to her and is truly ashamed about something he did. … He genuinely loved her but made a big mistake. I don't see them getting back together." Although he didn't directly address the split, Motsepe told Entertainment Tonight in May 2021, “Everything that happens in life, people deal with things differently, and I deal with things differently. So I think for me personally, with everything in my life, I [turn to] music or dance, it just depends on the feeling at the moment." Fast-forward to the summer of 2021 — while the cast was seemingly taking a break from filming seasons 4 and 5 — Stause and Jason announced they are dating. "Chrishell and I became close friends and it has developed into an amazing relationship," he told Us Weekly in July 2021 statement when he confirmed they were dating. "I care about her deeply and we're very happy together." In November 2021, Jason explained that their friendship provided the perfect base for an open and honest relationship. "There was definitely a transition," Jason told Us exclusively at the time. "We had been so open about what we were looking for with each other because we had become close friends. She knew my dating life, and we would almost joke about our each other's dating lives and what we were looking for and things like that." He gushed, "I love her.” Less than a month later, a source confirmed to Us Weekly that the Selling Sunset stars split before Christmas. Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() Selling Sunset started streaming on Netflix in March 2019. During season 1, Stause was still with Hartley, who never appeared on screen, and fans learned about Jason’s past with Fitzgerald. “I don’t give her special treatment,” he told Good Housekeeping about his working relationship with Fitzgerald after their split. “I understand that there can be frustrations from other agents because they see that Mary is being involved in and brought on to many of my listings. While I don’t share the financials with everyone because that’s confidential, I think that everyone would admit based on just the obvious work that she’s done, that she’s bringing more money into this brokerage and selling more properties than anyone else.” Netflix ![]() After dating Fitzgerald prior to Selling Sunset, Jason told Page Six in May 2021 that dating another costar “probably wouldn’t be an epic idea.” He added, “It’s not that I’ve taken a step back from dating — it’s not on my priority list to be honest. And no, that wouldn’t be a priority for me. I think that would be complicated.” ITV/Shutterstock ![]() After making her relationship with Oppenheim public, Stause revealed that he was the person who sent her a lavish display of flowers and balloons for her 41st birthday earlier in the month. "She knew my dating life, and we would almost joke about each other’s dating lives and what we were looking for and things like that." He also shared that Chrishell wanted to keep the relationship private for as long as possible. "I think that we were both more comfortable with that approach, and I liked that. I followed her lead on things, and I respected her decision-making on that,” he explained. “I think that that’s the right approach for anyone." JENNIFER GRAYLOCK/INSTARimages.com ![]() The cast of Selling Sunset has been completely supportive of the couple. Maya Vander admitted that "it doesn’t hurt to [date the boss]," but reiterated that the actress wasn't getting special treatment. "At the end of the day, she does have good clients now that she built on her own. So whatever Jason decides to help here and then it’s his call, it’s his brokerage," she told Us. Mary Fitzgerald later told Us at the People's Choice Awrads: "I was surprised but they started off as friends and they're very good for each other. I'm waiting to see what happens but they are two of my very, very best friends and I want nothing more than for both of them to be happy and right now, they make each other happy." Selling Sunset's Chrishell and Jason's Quotes About Their Relationship Posted: 21 Dec 2021 12:10 PM PST From coworkers to lovers — and back to colleagues! Chrishell Stause was Jason Oppenheim's employee before their relationship grew into something more. Fans watched Stause and Oppenheim become friends in the early seasons of Netflix’s Selling Sunset, which debuted in 2019. Two years later, the pair surprised everyone in July 2021 when they confirmed that they were dating. "Chrishell and I became close friends and it has developed into an amazing relationship," Oppenheim told Us Weekly after Stause shared an Instagram photo of the couple packing on the PDA during a trip to Italy. "I care about her deeply and we're very happy together." Shortly after the duo made their relationship public, their coworker Mary Fitzgerald, who was with them on the European getaway, replied to the pic, “Nothing makes me more excited than to see two of my closest friends together and making each other so happy! Follow Selling Sunset star Amanza Smith wrote, "Love you both! So happy it's out!! Ahhhh we can all just be normal now! Happy!!!! Makes me sooooo happy for you both!!” Jason’s twin, Brett Oppenheim, also commented on Stause’s post, noting, "Love you Chrishell. Thank you for making my brother happy." One month later, the Emmy nominee explained why she and her beau initially made an effort not to discuss their relationship outside of their friend group. "You don't want to share with everybody and get all their opinions before you really know what it is," Stause said on E! News' Daily Pop in August 2021. Ahead of the season 4 premiere of Selling Sunset, the former soap opera actress elaborated on how her public outings with Jason pushed her to finally address their relationship status. “I didn’t want people to think it was a mistake or they’d 'caught us’ doing something,” she told Cosmopolitan UK in November 2021. “I wanted to be able to hold my boyfriend’s hand at dinner.” During the same interview, Fitzgerald recalled learning about her ex-boyfriend’s romantic connection with her best friend, telling the outlet, “We were out together and I noticed the way he was looking at her was different, so when she went to the bathroom I confronted him. When she came back Jason said, 'Sorry Chrishell, Mary knows.'” That same month, Jason admitted that he wasn’t thinking about Stause romantically when their friendship began. “Even [after we got together], I don’t think we were … taking it very seriously then either. So, it was definitely an interesting process,” he exclusively told Us, noting how supportive the rest of their friend group was after they made their relationship official. “I mean, as we knew they would be. We share such close mutual friends, which is also great in many ways as well. 'Cause when we’re hanging out with our friends, we’re both hanging out with our friends.” The Kentucky native, for her part, gushed about how easy it was to have conversations with Jason about their future. "I think that that's why it works so well and our communication is very open and honest. There's no conversation that we haven't had at this point,” she told Today in November 2021, adding that they already had a "very open" discussion about having children. "I don't know what we're gonna do, but you know, it's just one of those things that I'm very open with where I'm at in life and I think that's the key." In December 2021, a source confirmed to Us that the pair had called it quits. Scroll down to see all of the candid quotes that Jason and the Dancing With the Stars alum have shared about their relationship: ![]() After the duo debuted their relationship, the Days of Our Lives alum admitted that they weren't looking to go public when it happened. “We really were really private and secretive for as long as we could until we realized the walls were closing in," she said during an appearance on E! News’ Daily Pop in August 2021. "People were getting a little savvy to it. We made it to a point where we’re really happy to share it because we knew exactly what it was, so it’s all good.” Gregory Pace/Shutterstock ![]() The real estate broker got honest about the "added pressures" that come with dating in the spotlight. "I think it's nice to kind of start a relationship in the way that normal relationships kind of grow and progress. And that's just between two people," Jason shared with Us in November 2021, noting that he followed his girlfriend's lead on addressing their romance publicly. "I think that we were both more comfortable with that approach, and I liked that," he added. "I respected her decision making on that. I think that that's the right approach for anyone." Jennifer Graylock/INSTAR ![]() “I'm the happiest I've ever been. But nobody's more surprised than both of us. I mean, we did not see this coming," the Under Construction author revealed to Today in November 2021, adding that spending time with Jason during the COVID-19 pandemic pushed their relationship into a new light. “So you have your small group of people that you end up, you know, hanging out with and, you know, it just kind of happened where I think what started as something that was a little, you know, just going to be really light and ... nothing [serious], it just really took a turn,” she continued. “And it really kind of surprised both of us [with] what we kind of saw for the future and I think it was obviously a pleasant surprise.” MEGA ![]() The Oppenheim Group founder explained how his dynamic with Stause only got better once they started dating. "I think we're pretty open and pretty honest about our relationship and where we are and the things that we're talking about," he told Us in November 2021, hinting that their romance would play out on season 5 of Selling Sunset. "When we're together on camera and off camera, it's easy for us to just be open and honest, because I think there's a lot of trust there." Courtesy of Chrishell Stause/Instagram ![]() Although Jason and Stause shared a connection before they started dating, he noted that there "was definitely a transition" that they went through. "We had been so open about what we were looking for with each other because we had become close friends. Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Stause told E! News in December 2021 that when she first joined the Oppenheim Group she came in with a “fake it till you make it” mentality. It wasn’t until she built up a real confidence in herself that she was able to go from coworkers to more with Oppenheim. Luckily, he’s always been her biggest cheerleader. "With Jason, I just feel like the work/relationship dynamic, it's not as complicated as people would think because we were best friends before and we work together all the time,” she said. “It just kind of felt easy." 'Selling Sunset' Cast's Love Lives: Who the Netflix Stars Are Dating Off Screen Posted: 21 Dec 2021 12:10 PM PST All’s fair in love and real estate! Selling Sunset is partly about the luxury home market in Southern California, but it still devotes plenty of airtime to the cast’s personal lives. When the agents of the Oppenheim Group aren’t pounding the pavement in five-inch stilettos, they’re sitting around their West Hollywood office catching up on gossip with their coworkers — especially the latest additions. In season 1, the new girl in town was Chrishell Stause, who joined the firm after acting on soap operas including The Young and the Restless. When the Netflix series premiered in March 2019, Stause was married to Justin Hartley, but seven months later, the This Is Us surprised fans — and his then-wife — by filing for divorce. Selling Sunset covered the surprise filing in the season 2 finale, leaving fans wondering what happened between the former costars and setting a precedent for even more personal drama to follow. Like Stause, Heather Rae Young saw her love life become a subject of interest in season 2. After breaking up with Nick Ebert, the hockey player with whom she had a long-distance relationship in season 1, Young started dating Tarek El Moussa, who was previously married to Christina Haack. Their romance quickly became the subject of much discussion at the Oppenheim Group, perhaps most famously when Amanza Smith questioned whether Young had met El Moussa’s children in the relationship. Nearly two years later after meeting, however, the former model and the Flip or Flop cohost are still going strong and got engaged in July 2020. Young also has a friendly relationship with Haack, who shares daughter Taylor (born in 2010) and son Brayden (born in 2015) with El Moussa. "We coparent very well together," Young told Us Weekly of Haack in April 2021. "We communicate daily about the kids, and they're the most important thing in the world to all of us. So, as long as the kids are happy, we're all happy." Season 4 is yet to premiere, but it seems likely that the relationship drama will only continue, especially given that Stause started dating Oppenheim Group cofounder Jason Oppenheim in July 2021. After photos of the pair cuddling up during a vacation made waves on social media, the businessman confirmed their relationship to Us in a statement. "Chrishell and I became close friends and it has developed into an amazing relationship," he explained. "I care about her deeply and we're very happy together." Us confirmed in December 2021 that the pair had split. Keep scrolling to learn more about the Selling Sunset cast and their love lives: ![]() The former Days of Our Lives star was engaged to Matthew Morrison from 2006 to 2007. Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim Split 5 Months After Announcing Romance Posted: 21 Dec 2021 12:01 PM PST It’s over. Selling Sunset stars Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim have called it quits less than six months after going public with their romance, a source confirms to Us Weekly. The Dancing With the Stars alum, 40, and the Oppenheim Group cofounder, 44, confirmed they were dating in July while they were on vacation in Italy with some of their fellow Selling Sunset costars. “Chrishell and I became close friends and it has developed into an amazing relationship," the real estate broker told Us in a statement at the time. "I care about her deeply and we're very happy together." Later in the summer, the former soap actress revealed that the couple started dating two months before going public with their relationship. "It's just one of those things," she told E! News' Daily Pop in August. "You don't want to share with everybody and get all their opinions before you really know what it is." Though Selling Sunset fans were eager to see the pair’s courtship play out onscreen during season 4 of the Netflix series, the new episodes, which premiered in November, did not include any mention of their romance. A teaser trailer for season 5 hinted that future episodes will cover the twosome’s relationship. Earlier this month, Oppenheim exclusively told Us that his then-girlfriend made the decision not to make their personal lives part of season 4. "I think when [a relationship is] public, it puts a lot of just added pressures and publicity and opinion," the real estate agent explained. "I think it's nice to kind of start a relationship in the way that normal relationships kind of grow and progress. And that's just between two people." ![]() The University of California, Berkeley added that the Kentucky native also made the calls about when they would tell their friends and coworkers about the change in their relationship status. "I think that we were both more comfortable with that approach, and I liked that. I followed her lead on things, and I respected her decision making on that," he told Us. "I think that that's the right approach for anyone." The couple have both said that their coworkers at the Oppenheim Group were supportive of them dating, but that hasn’t stopped social media trolls from implying that Stause’s professional success wouldn’t have happened without her former beau. When an Instagram user messaged the All My Children veteran that she’s only “getting listings and selling them” because of her boss-turned-boyfriend, Stause didn’t mince words in her reply. "It would seem I am not the miserable one here,” she wrote via Instagram earlier this month. “When you are an agent on tv you end up getting so much business you have to refer it out to others Bc there is only so much time in a day. The days of getting more listings because of rank in the office are long gone. But please take a breathe [sic] and have a great day! Thanks for watching!!!!” |
Jamie Spears Is Still Asking Daughter Britney to Pay His Legal Fees Posted: 21 Dec 2021 11:43 AM PST For the longest time, it seemed as though Britney Spears' dark days were finally behind her. After suffering a much-publicized breakdown in 2007 and 2008, the Princess of Pop came out on top, taking home one award after another and landing a four-year Las Vegas residency that grossed nearly $138 million. In February 2019, Spears was set to return to the Las Vegas Strip for Piece of Me's follow-up, Domination. However, she announced a month before the scheduled kickoff date that she would be taking an indefinite work hiatus to care for her ailing father, Jamie Spears, who underwent a life-threatening surgery after his colon spontaneously ruptured the previous fall. Britney subsequently went dark on social media, only posting in mid-January 2019 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her debut album, …Baby One More Time. She did not return until April 2019, when she posted on Instagram that she was taking "a little 'me time.'" Within minutes, news broke that Britney had quietly checked into a California mental health facility in late March for a 30-day stay. A source told Us Weekly exclusively that the Grammy winner decided to seek help after the stress of her dad's hospitalization and the complex process of changing the medications she had been taking for an undisclosed mental illness. The news rocked the Britney Army, which began speculating about the pop star's well-being and picking up the #FreeBritney movement launched by the cohosts of a podcast dedicated to Britney's Instagram. Her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, was quick to shut down unfounded rumors surrounding the "Toxic" singer, writing via Instagram, "I have been here long before anyone else, and I'll be here long after. I love my sister with everything I have. So, anyone or anything that speaks to the contrary can GTFOH with all the comments about what you don't understand. Do not come for me or the ones I love anymore." Britney herself spoke out later that day, assuring fans in a video message that "all is well." The Crossroads actress has been unable to make major personal or financial decisions in her life without the approval of her father since a court-approved conservatorship was put in place in February 2008 after her meltdown and divorce from Kevin Federline, with whom she shares sons Preston and Jayden. As a result, co-conservators Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallett had long been credited with saving Britney's life. Wallett abruptly resigned in March 2019, leaving Jamie as the sole conservator until he temporarily stepped down that September following an alleged altercation with Preston. (Jamie was later cleared of wrongdoing.) Licensed fiduciary Jodi Montgomery later assumed Jamie's position, though he still had partial control of Britney's estate. Britney spoke out against her conservatorship for the first time in June 2021. "The main reason why I'm here is because I want to end the conservatorship without being evaluated," she said during a court hearing, adding: “I just want my life back. It’s been 13 years, and it’s enough.” Two months after Britney laid it all on the table during her court hearing, Jamie filed documents agreeing to step down as the conservator of his daughter’s estate, asserting “he does not believe that a public battle with his daughter over his continuing service as her conservator would be in her best interests.” Jamie was suspended as conservator of the estate in September 2021 before requesting two months later that the conservatorship end "immediately." He was replaced temporarily by John Zabel until the end of December 2021. A judge ruled in November 2021 to officially end the conservatorship after 13 years. After Britney, Lynne and Jamie spoke, the judge ordered a 730 expert evaluation, which is “a very comprehensive report prepared by a team of Britney’s doctors and possibly a court-appointed medical professional,” according to a source. He also argued that her medical and financial issues are “inextricably entwined” and that unsealing the details of one could expose the other. Courtesy Britney Spears/Instagram ![]() Britney objected to the reappointment of Wallet as co-conservator of her estate in court documents filed on September 11, 2020, saying the attorney is “uniquely unsuitable to fill that role” and “had little or no direct contact” with her over the years. Her lawyer, Ingham, argued that bringing Wallet back onto the case would be “a very poor value that Britney cannot afford” given she has not performed in years. The paperwork then laid out the exorbitant amounts of money that Britney has paid her team. On top of his $426,000 annual salary, Wallet received a $100,000 “golden parachute” after his “voluntary resignation” in March 2019. Then, in December 2019, Jamie “modified the compensation” of Britney’s business manager Lou Taylor’s firm, Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group, to “a minimum annual fee of $500,000,” which was “more than double the amount” that Tri Star previously received. “[Jamie] has taken the position that Britney’s decision not to perform will require him to undertake drastic changes to her budget. Apparently, this frugality does not extend to the fees [Jamie] pays from the conservatorship to the financial professionals with whom he surrounds himself,” Ingham said in the documents. “Apart from the fact that Mr. Wallet has been extremely expensive in the past, based on what occurred over the 11 years he served as her co-conservator there is no reason to believe that Mr. Wallet will be able to work with Britney to explain and implement any difficult budgetary choices that must be made.” In response three days later, Jamie claimed that Britney’s filing was full of “untrue” and “misleading” statements and denied that Tri Star is compensated more now than the firm had been in the past. He requested a court hearing to further discuss the matter. Courtesy of Britney Spears/Instagram ![]() Britney's court-appointed attorney, Ingham, filed documents on September 18, 2020, to ask the judge to approve the law firm Loeb & Loeb LLP to help him with the case. Ingham made the move to seek additional lawyers with expertise in conservatorship litigation to help him prepare for upcoming hearings. The judge in the case ruled in Britney's favor on October 14, 2020, and allowed the firm to be brought on to help the pop star regain control of her estate. “The mere presence of Loeb & Loeb has already provoked a massive change,” Ingham said during an hourlong court hearing, referencing Jamie dropping his petition to bring back Wallet. Jamie's attorney Geraldine Wyle, however, argued that there was no need to bring in additional attorneys who would only take away more money from Britney's estate. Courtesy Britney Spears/Instagram ![]() According to court documents obtained by Us on September 29, 2020, Ingham requested for Bessemer Trust Company, a private wealth management firm, to take over Britney’s estate. Jamie responded on October 5, 2020, and indicated that he is willing to work with Britney and her attorney on finding the “most efficient and effective” plan to manage her estate. Stewart Cook/Shutterstock ![]() During a court hearing on October 7, 2020, Montgomery’s attorney, Lauriann Wright, acknowledged that “Britney’s right to privacy does not belong to” the fiduciary. Jamie’s lawyer Wyle agreed, saying that Britney’s desire to unseal certain court documents related to her conservatorship is up to her and her attorney, Ingham, who noted that the singer “is not legally capable to execute a declaration” in the case. The judge ordered both parties to discuss the issue and gave them due dates to file various briefs ahead of a hearing on November 10, 2020. In his response on October 23, 2020, Jamie denied Ingham’s claim that Britney “lacks the capacity” to speak for herself, arguing that she has the “right to be heard” even as a conservatee. Jamie’s legal team also rebutted Ingham’s assertion that he is Britney’s “exclusive voice” as her court-appointed attorney. Courtesy of Britney Spears/Instagram ![]() Britney assured her fan base on November 2, 2020, that she is hanging in there amid her conservatorship battle. “I know that there have been a lot of comments and a lot of people saying a lot of different things about me, but I just want to let you guys know that I am fine,” she said in an Instagram video. “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life.” Courtesy Britney Spears/Instagram ![]() Britney’s attorney filed court documents on November 3, 2020, requesting that Jamie be removed as co-conservator of the singer’s estate once and for all. The filing addressed a letter that Jamie had filed in October, in which he agreed to have Bessemer Trust as a co-conservator after Britney asked for the trust to be the sole conservator of her estate moving forward. Britney’s lawyer claimed that Jamie hired a new business manager without consulting his daughter after Taylor of Tri Star Sports and Entertainment Group “suddenly” resigned from the role. "The October 28 letter is a blatant attempt by James to retain full functional control of her assets, books and records in the face of Britney's objections, Tri Star's resignation and the appointment of Bessemer Trust,” the document read. “His simple litigation strategy is to introduce a new gatekeeper who admittedly has a major working relationship with his legal team.” The paperwork continued: “It is now obvious that any effort to create a viable working relationship between and among Britney, Bessemeer Trust and James would be doomed to failure even without the added stress of litigating Britney's objections to the Account.” Jamie made a case for why he should remain co-conservator of the estate in court documents obtained by TMZ on November 8, 2020. He argued that he succeeded in managing her business affairs and assets for years and even saved her from debt at one point. Jamie also took credit for making sure that Britney had a business manager, Taylor, whom he claimed resigned over death threats from fans. Matt Baron/Shutterstock; Nick Ut/AP/Shutterstock ![]() A court hearing was held on November 10, 2020, to determine whether Jamie would remain the co-conservator of Britney’s estate. However, the judge ultimately decided not to suspend Jamie, saying the matter can be further discussed “down the road.” She did, however, approve Bessemer Trust to oversee the estate with Jamie. During the hearing, Ingham alleged that Britney informed him “she is afraid of her father” and that she “will not perform as long as her father is in charge of her career.” Jamie’s lawyer denied the claim. Lynne’s attorney, meanwhile, said the matriarch supports Britney and wants her ex-husband “to be a part of [Britney’s] life,” although “it has broken her heart to watch” the family’s court drama unfold. Ahead of the hearing, Britney filed an objection to her dad’s financial report, claiming Jamie approved a $308,975 payment to Tri Star without her knowledge. “Objector [Britney] believes that the retroactive fees paid to Tri Star ... are excessive and should be disallowed in their entirety as a credit on the accounting,” Ingham said in court documents obtained by Us. Jim Smeal/Shutterstock; Shutterstock ![]() Jamie told CNN on December 15, 2020, that he had not spoken to his daughter since that August — and believed it was the fault of Britney's lawyers. "I love my daughter and I miss her very much," he said. "When a family member needs special care and protection, families need to step up, as I have done for the last 12-plus years, to safeguard, protect and continue to love Britney unconditionally. I have and will continue to provide unwavering love and fierce protection against those with self-serving interests and those who seek to harm her or my family." At the time, Ingham declined to comment on Jamie's interview. Shutterstock; Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() Jamie’s attorney, Vivian Thoreen, argued in a January 27, 2021, court filing that Britney’s lawyer, Ingham, could not ask the judge to remove Jamie as co-conservator of the estate because a previous court order stated that changes could only be made if Jamie himself agreed to step down. In a response filed on February 2, 2021, Ingham pointed out that Jamie could have objected to the co-conservatorship with the “highly sophisticated” Bessemer Trust but failed to do so. After the documentary premiered, the hashtag #FreeBritney trended on Twitter again as fans and celebrities called for the general public to apologize to the star for the way she was treated in the mid-aughts. FX Networks ![]() During a hearing on February 11, 2021, the judge ordered that Jamie would share equal power with Bessemer Trust as co-conservators of the estate. The judge left it open for Britney’s lawyers to file another petition in the future should she still want to have Jamie removed. “It is no secret that my client does not want her father as co-conservator, but we recognize that removal is a separate issue,” Ingham said in court before requesting that Jamie and the trust company “work together” to come up with an investment plan and a proposed budget for Britney. After the hearing, Jamie’s attorney, Thoreen, said in a statement to Us, “The probate court’s rulings today show the court’s confidence in our client Jamie Spears and Bessemer Trust to manage the conservatorship of Ms. Spears’ estate together. My client looks forward to working with Bessemer to continue an investment strategy in the best interests of his daughter. The probate court is highly experienced in these matters and takes them very seriously.” Thoreen continued, “From the beginning, the court has closely monitored Britney’s situation, including annual accountings and in-depth reviews and recommendations from a highly experienced and dedicated court investigator. Britney’s conservatorship of the estate was comanaged by a private professional fiduciary and her father until early 2019. At that time, Britney requested in court papers that her father be the sole conservator of her estate. Her conservatorship of the person is not managed by her father but by a licensed personal care professional and is similarly subject to the scrutiny of interviews, audits and detailed reports to the judge by the court investigator. My client Jamie Spears has diligently and professionally carried out his duties as one of Britney’s conservators, and his love for his daughter and dedication to protecting her is clearly apparent to the court.” Courtesy of Britney Spears/Instagram ![]() During a Good Morning America appearance on February 25, 2021, Thoreen insisted that Britney “never asked [Jamie] to step aside” from the conservatorship despite the pop star’s attorney filing multiple court documents stating the opposite. The attorney also said he had prepared a revised order for the judge to sign concerning the appointment of Bessemer Trust as the co-conservator of Britney’s estate alongside Jamie. Ingham submitted the paperwork regarding Montgomery succeeding Jamie on March 23, 2021. Broadimage/Shutterstock; Shutterstock ![]() Court documents filed on April 19, 2021, outlined an objection from Britney's mom, Lynne, who argued that the $890,000 in fees requested by Jamie's team of attorneys are "procedurally and substantively improper" given that the Holland & Knight firm's services were not "performed in good faith for the benefit" of Britney. Lynne's filing asked the court to review the fees and that the $224,000 used for press communication be "immediately repaid" to the pop star's estate. "She is 'sick of being taken advantage of' and she said she is the one working and earning her money but everyone around her is on her payroll," the investigator added at the time. I deserve changes.” She continued: “I just want my life back. It’s been 13 years and it’s enough. It’s enough and it makes no sense at all. … I’m done. I want to sue my family, to be totally honest with you.” Britney further alleged that she has been prevented from having more children. “I have an IUD in my body right now that won’t let me have a baby and my conservators won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out,” she claimed. “I want to be able to get married and have a baby. In the documents, which were submitted but have yet to be filed, Jamie claimed Montgomery “has been fully in charge” of Britney’s “day-to-day personal care and medical treatment” for two years, adding that he is “greatly saddened” by his daughter’s alleged mistreatment and wants an “investigation into those claims.” Jamie also pointed the finger at the Grammy winner’s attorney, claiming both Samuel Ingham and Montgomery are the only ones “permitted” to speak with Britney about her “current medical treatment, diagnosis or therapy.” In addition to asking for an evidentiary hearing, Jamie requested a judge postpone the decision as to whether Montgomery’s stint as temporary conservator of Britney’s person should be extended until after a hearing can be conducted. Since being appointed in September 2019, Ms. Montgomery has tirelessly acted in Britney’s best interests with the approval of her doctors and the oversight of the court.” LinkedIn/Shutterstock ![]() According to court documents obtained by Us on June 30, 2021, judge Brenda Pennysigned an order to have Bessemer Trust serve as a co-conservator of the singer’s estate alongside Jamie. One day after news of the co-conservatorship deal made headlines, Bessemer Trust filed an emergency application asking the court to approve their resignation from Britney’s case. The attorneys for Bessemer said their decision to resign was connected to the singer’s June 23 statement and her desire to terminate the conservatorship. Attorneys with the ACLU asked if they could present their petition during the July 14, 2021, hearing and asked the court to authorize an order within 10 days so their attorneys could meet with Britney. A status report would be filed after the meeting. "This petition offers the Court and Ms. Spears a mechanism to make that system of informed, supported choice a reality," docs obtained by Us read. "Petitioner here request confidential communication with Ms. Spears to make sure she is aware of the concept of supported decision-making, and to learn whether she wishes to use supported decision-making to select a successor lawyer. Barring that, the Petition should be continued until Ms. Spears has counsel who can fully represent her interests." "[Jamie] should not continue to act as the Conservatee's Conservator of the Estate, because his doing so is not in the best interest of the Conservatee," the filing read. "Because the paramount concern for this Conservatorship is doing what is in the best interest of the Conservatee, Petitioner hereby joins Conservatee in the Removal Petition." The docs continued: "Ms. Montgomery respectfully notes that Ms. Spears's medical team agrees that it is not in the best interest of the Conservatee for Mr. Spears to be and remain Conservator of the Estate. The Grammy winner's attorney later told Us, "This is a major victory for Britney Spears and another step toward justice. ... According to the legal docs, Jamie was requesting payments for "continu[ing] to do my best to keep current regarding the music, advertising and entertainment business," as well as legal work involving "public, media, and social media attention." Rosengart added that Jamie and his legal team were "now on notice" after the request. "The status quo is no longer tolerable, and Britney Spears will not be extorted," Rosengart wrote in the docs. The legal docs also argued that Jamie didn't think a psychological evaluation would be necessary in order for him to step down and for the conservatorship to end. In a statement to Us, Britney's attorney called the new petition a "massive legal victory." "Having exposed his misconduct and improper plan to hold his daughter hostage by trying to extract a multimillion-dollar settlement, Mr. Spears has now effectively surrendered," Rosengart noted. The same day, Britney’s lawyer slammed her father, Jamie, for his alleged part in the bugging scandal. “The Times reported that Mr. Spears engaged in horrifying and unconscionable invasions of his adult daughter’s privacy,” Rosengart said in court documents filed in September 2021. “Specifically, the Times reported that he and others 'ran an intense surveillance apparatus that monitored [Ms. Spears’s] communications' and also evidently captured attorney-client communications with her prior lawyer, which communications are a sacrosanct part of the legal system. Even more shockingly, the Times reported that Mr. Spears and his cohorts 'secretly captured audio recordings from her bedroom,' including private communications with her children. Mr. Spears has crossed unfathomable lines.” The filing called for Jamie’s immediate suspension from his role as conservator of her estate when Britney’s hearing takes place on September 29. "To be clear, his suspension will not impede the ultimate termination of the entire conservatorship, as Mr. Spears will be required during the transition to work with his temporary successor,” her attorney wrote. “The only thing Mr. Spears will ‘lose’ is something he should not have ever had — the ability to further harm his daughter." Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens Celebrate One Year Together: 'So Happy' Posted: 21 Dec 2021 11:42 AM PST A match made in world-class athlete heaven! Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens‘ relationship began during the coronavirus pandemic, but they’ve still managed to squeeze in tons of adventures together. The Olympic gold medalist and Houston Texans safety met via the dating app Raya in March 2020. "I didn't know who she was," the NFL player told Texas Monthly in June 2021. "I just hadn't heard of her, and when I told her that, that's one of the things she liked." Though the pandemic caused the 2020 Olympics to get pushed back a year, the break in Biles’ training schedule allowed the pair to get closer. "It was one of the few times in her life where everything was just shut off and she couldn't do anything,” Owens explained. “So we used it to get to know each other — really get to know each other. It created our bond and made it stronger. Now I'm so thankful.” The gymnast is seemingly as fearless when it comes to dating as she is on the mat. "He would say I slid into his DMs,” she told the Wall Street Journal in July 2021. “I saw him and I was like, 'Oh, he's pretty cute,' so I said hi. And then I saw that he was in the Houston area, so we started chatting a little bit, and then we went to hang out a week or two later." Because of COVID-19 protocols at the postponed Olympics, Owens wasn’t able to accompany Biles to Tokyo, but he offered his support from afar. After the Texas native withdrew from the team’s all-around finals and individual all-around competition, her boyfriend sent her his love via Instagram. “Imma ride with you through whatever baby,” he wrote in July 2021. “Your strength and courage is unmatched and you inspire me more and more everyday SB In response, Biles replied, “I love you so much.” She later withdrew from the vault and floor exercise finals, but returned for balance beam and took home the bronze medal. “Not at all how I imagined or dreamed my second Olympics would go but blessed to represent the USA,” she wrote via Instagram in August 2021 after winning her seventh Olympic medal. “I'll forever cherish this unique Olympic experience. Thanks everyone for the endless love and support. I'm truly grateful.” Keep scrolling for a complete timeline of Biles and Owens’ relationship: ![]() After the couple met, Owens was instantly smitten. “Her energy is something," he told Texas Monthly. President Joe Biden Rehomes Dog Major, Will Adopt a Cat in 2022: Details Posted: 21 Dec 2021 11:38 AM PST ![]() Giving him the life he deserves. President Joe Biden and first lady Dr. Jill Biden have decided to rehome their dog Major with family friends after he struggled to adapt to life in the White House. "After consulting with dog trainers, animal behaviorists and veterinarians, the first family has decided to follow the experts' collective recommendation that it would be safest for Major to live in a quieter environment with family friends," Michael LaRosa, the first lady’s spokesperson, said in a statement on Monday, December 20, via The New York Times. Major, who was rescued in 2018 from a Delaware animal shelter, had bitten a Secret Service agent and at least one other person in March. Amid other allegedly aggressive behavior, the 3-year-old German shepherd was removed from the White House and brought back to the Biden’s family home in Delaware, where he received more training. Major was in Delaware with the 46th president’s other dog, Champ, who died in June at age 13. ![]() "This is not in reaction to any new or specific incident, but rather a decision reached after several months of deliberation as a family and discussions with experts,” LaRosa added of the rehoming. The news that Major is officially moving out comes amid the first family announcing their third dog and newest addition to the White House, a cat. The feline is a female who is currently living with foster parents. While her name has yet to be announced, officials told the Washington Post that the new pet will arrive in January. The kitten will be the first cat in the White House since George W. Bush‘s India (nicknamed Willie), a black cat who died at nearly 20 years old, just weeks before Bush’s presidency ended. The fur ball will join another new addition, the Bidens’ new puppy, Commander. The 3-month-old German shepherd was born on September 1. The canine was a gift from the president’s brother, James Biden, and James’ wife, Sara Biden. In a video released on Monday via Twitter, the commander in chief, 79, introduced his new pup. The clip showed the Pennsylvania native tossing a ball to play with the dog and giving him a treat after he sat down on command. The first lady, 70, also appeared in one shot where she and her husband walked Commander on a leash through the 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue doors, which were decorated for the holiday season. |
Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma's Relationship Timeline Posted: 21 Dec 2021 11:37 AM PST Hey now, hey now! Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma's relationship is what dreams are made of. The former Lizzie McGuire star and the musician, who got married in December 2019, are one of Hollywood's most adorable couples. They're also one of the most relatable, thanks to their social media posts about scrolling through Postmates in bed, NSFW tattoos and just being happy they found one another. "I will always choose sandwiches and 8 p.m. bedtimes over fancy date nights …. over and over again," Duff wrote via Instagram on the first anniversary of their 2019 engagement. "My best friend, lover, and papa bear that can not be rivaled… it's always been you." The Younger alum met the record producer after collaborating together on her 2015 album Breathe In. Breathe Out. One year prior, Duff split from her ex-husband, NHL player Mike Comrie, with whom she shares son Luca. "They had great chemistry in the studio," a source told Us Weekly of Koma and his now-wife at the time. "Hilary thinks Matt is very talented and cute." However, it wasn't until 2017 — one year after they officially started dating — that the former Disney Channel star and the Winnetka Bowling League band leader made their red carpet debut. The twosome welcomed their first daughter, Banks, in October 2018. The following year, they tied the knot during an intimate backyard ceremony that incorporated their kids, who are "obviously, the biggest part of our life," Duff told Vogue in 2019. Amid the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the A Cinderella Story actress announced that she was pregnant with her third child. "Lol quarantine was fun," the "So Yesterday" singer joked via Instagram that October. In March 2021, Duff gave birth to the pair's second daughter, Mae James, and praised her husband for his support during her at-home water birth. "My hubby is the most calm anchor in the room when I feel like climbing the walls," Duff wrote via Instagram in celebration of Mae’s 4-month "birth day." Raising three kids isn't easy, but the couple have a sense of humor about keeping their romance alive when they aren’t changing diapers. In September 2021, Koma praised Duff for balancing her parenting duties while filming Hulu’s How I Met Your Father, sharing a photo that he described as "one of my favorite pictures of wifey somewhere between supremely fulfilled, exhausted and why the f–k are you taking my photo." She joked in the Instagram comments at that time, "This is bound to get him baby No. 4." How you’re able to be the mom, individual, wife, spirit, and tie dye influencer you are, while making it look so easy is mind boggling and I don’t know what I did right to deserve being on the receiving end of it. Maybe he was like, ‘This is for the better right now.’” MediaPunch/Shutterstock ![]() "Matthew, My dedications can’t touch yours," the Younger actress began a sweet tribute to her husband on his 34th birthday in June 2021. "Mostly I just want to say thank you.... For being my best friend. Giving 1000 percent to our kids. But it's the humor for me. ..sometimes I don't even feel worthy of your sophisticated trolls, how lucky I am to be the chosen one. 😊." Duff felt lucky to be "forever surprised/ impressed/ and learning" from Koma. "Thank you for being the coziest safest blanket for us to all rest our head. Nobody else I'd rather go through the trenches with bubba. HBD love you papa 🐻 who's 34!" she gushed. "Oh! And when you sit down and get really serious trying to do Banks’ hair.... Bethenny Frankel Is 'Still Engaged' to Paul Bernon After Split Speculation Posted: 21 Dec 2021 11:02 AM PST ![]() Happy together! After fans questioned whether Bethenny Frankel and Paul Bernon were going strong, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly that the pair are “still engaged.” The former Real Housewives of New York City star, 51, sparked split rumors when she posted a photo on Tuesday, December 21, where she wasn’t wearing her engagement ring. "Shoutout to all my #jingleladies who can put their own ring on it …,” Frankel captioned the pic of herself in front of a Christmas tree sporting an “All My Jingle Ladies” sweater via Instagram. The reality star’s followers were quick to point out that the Skinnygirl founder was missing her ring, with one fan asking, “Wait is she single?!? An insider explained to Us that “nothing has changed” when it comes to Frankel’s relationship with Bernon, 51. The Bravo personality is wearing a ring in the snap although it’s “not the one she always wears” because that one is “massive.” The A Place of Yes author addressed the speculation via her Instagram Story that same day, saying, “I am engaged to a wonderful man named Paul. We got engaged in February and months later I was swimming and I had my ring on so it came out that we were engaged.” Frankel noted that it was “convoluted” that the couple “planned the date” that she would be spotted “swimming and wearing the ring.” “I don’t always wear my ring. I don’t have to always wear my ring. Sometimes I don’t feel that it is safe, sometimes my fingers swell or contract but I’m doing me,” she continued. “My opinion is that a relationship is about the two people in the relationship, the commitment and the feelings.” Frankel and Bernon originally started dating in 2018 after meeting each other through a dating app. “I'm happy in a way that's different. Not a high or a low, just a balance — which, if you know my personality at all, it's not often that balanced. But I feel just balanced and healthy," the Big Shot With Bethenny star revealed during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan in July 2019. “I'm just settled.” The New York native, who announced her split from ex Jason Hoppy in 2012 after less than three years of marriage, admitted that she didn’t expect to find The One at the time. (Frankel and Hoppy, 51, share daughter Bryn, 11.) “I have a career, I have a daughter, I've had a nasty divorce. So I wasn't sure that I could have just that normal, beautiful, loving relationship that you remember from high school or college or something,” she added. “And that's what it feels like." Amid a brief split in October 2020, Frankel addressed how the twosome managed to stay on good terms. "We had a great, great relationship and I'm really happy. Not everything has to end badly, some things just don't continue and it's not negative, it's just life,” she said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show at the time. “So many people have tried to define my life — our lives — with, 'When are you getting engaged?' 'When are you having a baby?' 'When are you getting married?’ … I've just realized more in life, with people being more open and honest about their lives and what they want, that everything doesn't have to sort of end in a blue box and a bow.” The duo were spotted holding hands three months later and confirmed their engagement in March. Frankel finalized her divorce from her now ex-husband that same year. The entrepreneur gushed about the film producer while celebrating a relationship milestone in September, writing via Instagram, “A good relationship, like a lighthouse, represents strength and safety and the ability to withstand powerful storms and turbulent waters. Happy Anniversary Paul. I love you. You are my lighthouse. With reporting by Travis Cronin |
They Do! RHOM's Alexia Echevarria Marries Todd Nepola in 'Dream' Wedding Posted: 21 Dec 2021 10:36 AM PST Officially man and Housewife! Bravo’s Alexia Echevarria and longtime love Todd Nepola are married, Us Weekly exclusively confirms. “I’m a wife!!! (A real one.) It still feels like a dream I can’t even put into words,” the Real Housewives of Miami star, 54, gushed to Us after the ceremony. “[It was] perfect for us! Truly everything we wanted. Just him and I. … We look forward to celebrating with our friends and family in 2022.” The couple tied the knot on Thursday, December 16, at the Eden Rock hotel in St Barths. The bride wore a Muse by Berta dress paired with a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted Marielena headpiece and Aquazurra shoes. She walked down the aisle at sunset, meeting her groom, who donned a blue tuxedo by Isaia Nepoli and Ferragamo shoes. While reading their vows, the pair cried and laughed, exchanging white gold wedding bands that were engraved with the ceremony’s date. The celebration continued with a romantic dinner at Bonito, followed by dancing and champagne popping at Bagatelle. “Our favorite moment of the ceremony was when a big sea turtle came up to above the water. I knew there was a symbolic and spiritual meaning and the universe trying to tell me something,” Echevarria told Us. “Sea turtles symbolize longevity, peace, perseverance, healing, steadfastness, wisdom and emotional strength. I am a sea turtle!” The newlywed added: “Another special moment was when I closed my eyes, kissed and tossed my flower bouquet into the ocean while thinking of my mom and dad. They both loved flowers and the ocean. I could feel both of them right by my side.” The reality TV personality and the Current Capital Group founder got engaged in December 2019 after two years of dating. Echevarria noted in May 2020 that she wanted to have a “religious wedding,” but the pair were forced to push back their plans due to the coronavirus pandemic. “We’re still trying to figure out if we want it here, if we want a destination wedding, so those are things that we’re still working out,” she told Bravo’s Daily Dish at the time. “But meanwhile, we’re really enjoying each other. He’s an amazing man and I’m very happy.” As the world slowly began to open up, the couple set a new date, hoping to walk down the aisle in August. However, on what would have been her wedding day, the Alexia and Frankie’s Beauty Bar founder announced that her mother, Nancy, died of COVID-19. “The last couple of days have been a rollercoaster of emotions for me. I was on the road to marry the man of my dreams when I had to stop everything as my mother became ill. What was supposed to be the happiest day of my life today has turned out to be the saddest,” the reality TV personality wrote via Instagram at the time, referring to her mom as a “woman of strength and beauty” who “showed me to live unapologetically, never look back and don’t regret the things you’ve done but the things you haven’t.” Echevarria continued: “To say I will miss you does no justice for what I feel. No amount of tears can express the pain I feel in losing you, but then again, thank you for the honor of sharing a lifetime with me. Rest in Peace Mami. I know you’re in a better place dancing and drinking champagne. Please watch over us, as I need all the help from up above. I now have another angel. Until we meet again.” The Cuba native was filming season 4 of RHOM — which originally aired from 2011 to 2013 — when tragedy struck her family. However, her now-husband also experienced a loss of his own. “A lot of people don’t know [but] Todd’s father passed away. The cameras weren’t here,” the Venue magazine cofounder told Entertainment Tonight before her Thursday nuptials. “We had already wrapped up the show, but unfortunately four weeks later, not even four weeks later, he had a stroke and then he never recovered and he passed away. Like I said, the show revolves around my life. So whatever’s going on in my life at that moment, that’s where you’re capturing and the cameras weren’t around, but between him and I, we’re still dealing with so much loss. My mom and his father. … But love wins at the end.” Before Nepola, the entrepreneur was previously married to Herman Echevarria from 2004 until 2016, when he died. The pair separated in 2015. Alexia also shares two sons with ex-husband Pedro Rosello. New episodes of The Real Housewives of Miami stream Thursdays on Peacock. 'Are You the One?' Alum Connor Smith Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault Posted: 21 Dec 2021 09:59 AM PST ![]() Connor Smith, who appeared on season 3 of Are You the One?, was arrested on charges of sexual assault, Us Weekly can confirm. According to court records obtained by Us, the former MTV personality, 31, was arrested on Friday, December 17, and charged with rape, sexual battery and two counts of criminal confinement. The alleged victim, a 16-year-old girl, told police that Smith kidnapped her from her room in July when she was visiting family members in Indiana. The teen claimed that she met Smith online after exchanging info with a person who claimed to be selling a cat. That evening, she alleged that a man ripped open her bedroom window screen and put her in his truck. (She later admitted that she fabricated that part of the story, telling authorities that she was afraid of getting in trouble for sneaking out.) After leaving the house where she was staying, the victim claimed that Smith assaulted her in the truck, then took her to a hotel where he assaulted her again. When he brought her back home, several of her relatives began chasing his truck. Police identified Smith after one of the girl’s family members provided the truck’s license plate number. According to court records, DNA analysis showed that the former reality star was a likely match with the alleged victim’s sexual assault kit. ![]() Smith, who resides in Illinois, was arrested in Oak Lawn, a suburb of Chicago. He is currently in custody in a county jail awaiting extradition back to Indiana, where the alleged crime occurred. Smith appeared on season 3 of Are You the One?, which premiered in September 2015. The show follows a group of single people who are secretly matched into couples by producers. While living together, the contestants try to figure out all of the matches, and if they succeed, they split a prize of $1 million. During episode five, Smith found out that he and fellow contestant Chelsey Perkins were a “perfect match.” After filming, however, they decided not to continue their relationship. “BEST FRIEND STATUS!!!!” Smith wrote via Instagram in November 2015 alongside a photo of himself with Perkins. “Yes for everyone who wants to know @bombshellchels and I are NOT dating. Having said that I could no be happier with my perfect match. What I came out of this experience with is a new best friend! Live your dream.” If you or someone you know have been sexually assaulted, contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673). |
Lala Kent Declares She's Cutting 'The Fat' Following Randall Emmett Split Posted: 21 Dec 2021 09:52 AM PST ![]() Another dig? After Lala Kent announced her rebranded — and solo — “Give Them Lala” tour, some fans couldn’t help but question whether the reality star threw shade at her ex Randall Emmett in the process. “I've got a brand new format for the tour & its everything I've ever dreamed of. Of course I will spill the tea, give behind the scenes commentary, Q&A, have inspiring guests, and most importantly we will get to know each other. I can't wait to hang out with you An account for the podcast “Not Skinny But Not Fat” replied, “Cut Another follower applauded the Vanderpump Rules star for the subtle shade, writing in the comments section, “‘I've cut the fat’ bahahaha STOP.” The tour announcement comes after Kent previously confirmed that she was going to be taking over the podcast on her own following her split from Emmett, 50. "Hello, my loves. I am so excited to introduce my brand-new podcast, 'Give Them Lala,'” the Utah native shared in a November episode clip, after changing the name from “Give Them Lala … and Randall.” Kent and Emmett originally announced their engagement in 2018 after going public earlier that same year. The pair welcomed their daughter, Ocean, now 9 months, in March after postponing their wedding ceremony due to the coronavirus pandemic one year prior. The Bravo personality sparked breakup speculation after she removed all traces of the director from her social media in October. One month later, Us Weekly confirmed that they had ended their engagement. At the time, Emmett announced that he would be stepping down from his joint podcast venture with Kent. “I think for now, for me, I’m going to take a step back from being in front of the camera, even though it’s a podcast and you can’t be in front of the camera, you can be in front of the microphone. [I’m going] to focus right now on family and my children — Ocean, London, Rylee — and also my film business,” he explained in a November episode, referring to his kids with Kent and with ex-wife Ambyr Childers. “I made that decision and I hope that my 15 followers stay loyal to the podcast, while you don’t hear my voice. But I think that’s — for me right now — the right thing to do for myself and I just want to be super focused right now.” Since their split, the Give Them Lala author has offered her followers a glimpse at how she is doing post-split. After showing off her tattoo swap (tweaking her “Rand” tattoo to “bRand new”), the actress explained how seeing photos of Emmett with women in Nashville inspired the change. "I found out about the pictures of his name we shall not mention and the Nashville girls. [And] I decided on October 20th, the day of my book signing, that I was going to change my tattoo from ['Rand'] to 'bRand new,'” she explained on her podcast in November. “The 'bRand new' tattoo is such a vibe. It’s just such a fun thing to say, 'Like, I’m brand new" … and it’s in my handwriting — and I am brand new. With everything that’s going on, my mind is right, you know? … Boss ass bitch.” One month later, Kent opened up about what a “mindf–k” it was when she found out about Emmett’s infidelity. “I think I ignored a lot of things that I probably shouldn’t have, but I think I ignored them because. He’s good at what he does,” the singer said during an appearance on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast on Tuesday, December 21, noting that she would have “put million upon millions of dollars on him never creeping around on me.” For Kent, learning the news “blindsided” her after all the work that she put into trying to make their relationship work. “I think that’s what is so hard to stomach for me is that even when we weren’t connecting, I was so loyal and faithful. I was not sending inappropriate text messages. I was like in it. I went straight to him. If I was ever feeling unhappy, I was willing to do couple’s therapy. I started going to therapy on my own,” she added. “Like I was doing anything I possibly could to make sure that he and I would stand the test of time. To feel like I was doing all of that really for nothing. I mean, I look back on these years with him and I can’t remember any of it.” |
Posted: 21 Dec 2021 09:48 AM PST For the love of men! Jane Fonda fell in love on more than one occasion in her life, but when she hit her 80s, she decided to close up shop. "I’m not dating anymore, but I did up until a couple of years ago," she told Extra in May 2018. "I’m 80. I’ve closed up shop down there!” The Grace and Frankie actress has however a history of long-term relationships, beginning with her first marriage to Roger Vadim in 1965. "There's no doubt that part of my attraction to him and his life was because it was so different from the repressed style in which I had been raised," Fonda wrote in her 2005 autobiography, Jane Fonda: My Life So Far. "But what a reputation he had! In the first years of our relationship, walking down the Champs-Élysées, people would react to him as to a major movie star." Fonda, who grew up under the Hollywood microscope as the daughter of actor Henry Fonda, was rarely single. Following her split from the French filmmaker in 1973, who helped put her on the map with 1968's Barberella, the actress quickly remarried in 1973. Once that relationship fizzled out, the Georgia Rule actress again walked down the aisle in 1991. It wasn't until her eight-year-relationship with music producer Richard Perry, however, that the actress had a sexually fulfilling romance. "At 74, I’ve never had such a fulfilling sex life," Jane said told The Sun in July 2012. "The only thing I have never known is true intimacy with a man. I absolutely want to discover that before dying. It has happened with Richard, I feel totally secure with him. Often, when we make love, I see him as he was 30 years ago.” Throughout her life, the Oscar winner hasn't been shy about sex and intimacy, nor has she shied away from revealing her Hollywood crushes. After appearing alongside Robert Redford in three films — and ahead of their 2017 reunion in Our Souls At Night — the activist opened up about their chemistry and the fact that she always loved him. "I realize that I've grown up because in the three previous movies, I was always in love with him," Jane told Ellen DeGeneres in March 2017. "I fell in love with him every time." In September 2020, the 9 to 5 star got real about the one that got away, naming Marvin Gaye as her "great regret." Jane told The New York Times that she missed her opportunity to sleep with the "Sexual Healing" crooner, because she was married at the time of his advances. "He wanted to and I didn't," she explained, noting she later learned that he had her picture on his refrigerator. Lala Kent Thanks God 'Daily' That She 'Never Married' Ex Randall Emmett Posted: 21 Dec 2021 09:42 AM PST Not holding back. Following her split from Randall Emmett, Lala Kent has offered insight on how she is moving on from the relationship. Vanderpump Rules viewers, who were introduced to Kent in 2014, were kept in the dark when it came to the reality star’s dating life. The Give Them Lala author started seeing Emmett ahead of season 5, but kept their relationship quiet for two years. In 2018, the twosome announced their engagement after going public earlier that same year. After Emmett and Kent postponed their April 2020 wedding ceremony due to the coronavirus pandemic, the pair welcomed their daughter, Ocean, one year later. The Row actress sparked split speculation after she deleted all the photos of the director from her social media in October 2021. One month later, Us Weekly confirmed that they had ended their engagement and were going their separate ways. “Randall did not want to split but it was Lala’s decision. The trust is gone,” an insider exclusively shared with Us at the time. “He’s been trying to win her back. … For now, she’s not wearing her ring and she’s truly focused on her daughter and her projects. She’s trying to keep everything private.” Kent, who had already filmed season 9 of Vanderpump Rules with her then-fiancé, offered a glimpse at what she learned filming the reunion special after her breakup. “I’ve been on this show for six years, I’ve changed a lot as a person — no one can tell me otherwise. … So, when I think back on my time [on the show], I love it, it’s been the ultimate mirror for me, but after that reunion, I sat back and thought, ‘Is this the space for me anymore or do we need to do some soul searching?'” the singer confessed during a December 2021 episode of her “Give Them Lala” podcast. The beauty mogul claimed that she hadn’t received support from most of her costars after addressing her personal life during the reunion. “I didn’t hear from one person on my cast except for Raquel [Leviss] to say, ‘Hope you’re doing OK,'” Kent said. “That was very telling for me. … I’m not saying that this group of my friends are bad people in any way. Just because I’m going through something doesn’t mean the world stops. … But I was visibly upset on the reunion, and for not one of them except for my little Bambi to reach out and say, ‘I just want to say I’m sorry for what you’re going through,’ was, like I said, eye-opening.” That same month, Kent explained how difficult it was to find out new information about the film producer now that they were no longer together. "The only truth I feel that existed in my relationship was me and my daughter Ocean. That is where the truth ended. That is a hard pill to swallow," she shared on her podcast. "There are moments [where] I sit here and say, ‘How can I go out into the world and trust anybody ever again? But it’s important for me to learn how to do that because I know that there are a lot of women out there that are going through the same thing that I am and it’s not right. I have to fight for them. I have to fight for Ocean." "There will be a time where I feel comfortable enough to open up and share. Today's definitely not that day. It's been a lot, I'm going through a lot and at this point in time, I just want to protect my child, [Ocean]." While addressing her split, Kent noted that she felt "strong" and "hopeful" when it came to her future. "I feel like it's weird because I, for the first time, have no idea what my future holds. I don't know what each day is going to look like and for a really long time, I've had a schedule where everything is planned out. My future was ahead of me and I was like, ‘This is the plan,’" she said. "And I'm kind of just letting the universe take control of my life and place me where I need to be. I'm not questioning anything." Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock ![]() Kent discussed the photos of Emmett with two women at a hotel in Nashville one month after they originally surfaced. “I had my head in the sand for a really long time, but I'm grateful no matter what. What's five years and some change versus what I would've been in,” the performer shared during a November 2021 episode of the "Give Them Lala" podcast. “The second that I felt unsafe — I said this in therapy — I said, ‘The second I get a pit in my stomach, it'll be a different conversation.' I got that pit and I got the f--k out. No questions asked. 'Buh-bye.'" Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() During an episode of "Give Them Lala," Kent reflected on how she found herself “meddling in other people’s relationships” because of a possible “projection” of her own ups and downs with Emmett. “I don't know what happened,” Kent added during the November 2021 episode. “All I know is a lot of things … that I meddled in, my comments didn't age well and I'm OK with that. So, I think a lot of it is going to be talking about that and having to answer for a lot of those things.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() For Kent, seeing photos of Emmett with the women in Nashville inspired her to change up the tattoo she had dedicated to him. “I found out about the pictures of his name we shall not mention and the Nashville girls. [And] I decided on October 20th, the day of my book signing, that I was going to change my tattoo from [‘Rand’] to ‘bRand new,'" she explained on her podcast. "The ‘bRand new’ tattoo is such a vibe. It's just such a fun thing to say, ‘Like, I'm brand new” … and it's in my handwriting — and I am brand new. With everything that's going on, my mind is right, you know? … Boss ass bitch." Courtesy of Lala Kent/Instagram ![]() After learning new information about her relationship with Emmett, Kent acknowledged feeling “disposable” by her ex. “Every day I find out something new that makes me feel [like], ‘Lala you were so disposable the whole time. You meant nothing. … You were a possession, a shiny object and nothing more.' And I have to be OK with that,” she said during the "Give Them Lala" podcast in December 2021. “To learn the things that I learn and try my best to just keep my f–king mouth shut for my daughter, not say a word about what I know, it can become torturous. And I have to sit and say, ‘The universe will do its thing.’” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() During the December 2021 podcast episode, the Utah native claimed that her 6-carat engagement ring was not worth $150,000 and had been treated “one or more times” to change its color. “It just was like, ‘Wow, there’s not one piece of the five years I was with this person that has been truthful and honest," she added, referring to the ring as “likely brown” and worth something “in the teens.” Gregory Pace/Shutterstock ![]() After an emotional episode of her "Give Them Lala" podcast, Kent took to social media to share a lesson she had learned from the experience. "Try to remember this — I have to reminder myself often, as well ... When somebody suffers from self loathing, they will grasp for anyone to make them forget how much they hate themselves. It's not us, It's them," she wrote via her Instagram Stories in December 2021. "Be grateful for the person they get their claws into next. That person saved you. That, and decided to get the f--k out. If you see the signs — run." KCR/Shutterstock ![]() "I wonder often where I'm getting strength from and obviously I see my daughter and I know exactly where my strength is from, but I'd be lying to you if I said that, you know, this whole experience has been traumatizing and it haunts me daily," Kent detailed during an appearance on the "Melissa Gorga on Display" podcast in December 2021. She added: "Just how I could feel so safe with someone and to have a conversation about starting a family and him knowing the life that he was living behind my back and him feeling safe enough to bring this beautiful innocent life into this world is hard." Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() "I wish that somebody would have come to me and said, I'm getting DMs about your person. No one voiced any concern for me and my relationship," Kent emotionally explained during an interview on the "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast in December 2021. "James [Kennedy] and [Tom] Sandoval both expressed that they knew things. As time passes, I have a lot of people that are telling me things. Everyone wants to say, 'It's not your business.' How would you feel? I would give everything to turn back the clock and have someone tell me something." The Hard Kill actress admitted that it felt like a "mindf--k" learning about Emmett being unfaithful, adding, "I think I ignored a lot of things that I probably shouldn't have, but I think I ignored them because. He's good at what he does." Kent noted that she would have "put million upon millions of dollars on him never creeping around on me." " I never would have thought in a million years and everyone around me is blindsided as well," she said at the time. "Did we never see it? Did we never question? I mean, I have conversations daily with people in my circle where it's, like, 'What, what the f--k just happened?'" Taylor Jewell/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() While reflecting on her decision to defend her relationship with Emmett on Vanderpump Rules, Kent referred to her situation as "very dark." "I thank God and my dad daily that I never married him. The thought of it sends me into a panic," she explained on "Not Skinny But Not Fat" in December 2021. "I made up all kinds of s--t to protect this person [on Vanderpump Rules], thinking that I was being protected in return." She continued: "At the beginning of our time together, I was being spoiled a lot and that was not how it was throughout our time together. I always said, 'If I ended up in a box tomorrow, I can't think of anybody else I'd rather live in a box with." John Salangsang/Shutterstock ![]() Kent revealed that she and Emmett "don't communicate" since she saw the photos of him in Nashville. "He came home. I had seen the pictures. I kind of knew what I wanted to do. We didn't have a conversation about it and I packed my stuff and I left. No communication about anything. Even now it's through lawyers," the reality star detailed on the "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast in December 2021. "I think that's what is so hard to stomach for me is that even when we weren't connecting, I was so loyal and faithful." Kent candidly discussed how she attempted to make their relationship work even through many ups and downs. "I was not sending inappropriate text messages. I was like in it. I went straight to him. If I was ever feeling unhappy, I was willing to do couple's therapy. I started going to therapy on my own," she shared. "Like I was doing anything I possibly could to make sure that he and I would stand the test of time. To feel like I was doing all of that really for nothing. I mean, I look back on these years with him and I can't remember any of it." Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() While discussing her life after the split on the "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast, Kent revealed that she was looking forward to finding the "amazing love of my life." "I do feel that right now though, I want Give Them Lala to be a f--king empire. That is my baby — that and Ocean. I want to provide her with a beautiful life, that's my priority right now," she added at the time. "Finding love is like beyond on the back burner, even finding a good lay is like beyond on the back burner." David Buchan/Shutterstock |
Pete Davidson Is All Smiles While Leaving Kim Kardashian's NYC Hotel Posted: 21 Dec 2021 08:55 AM PST Walk of no shame. Pete Davidson was spotted beaming as he left Kim Kardashian‘s hotel in New York City. The 28-year-old Saturday Night Live star smiled from ear to ear while walking out of the Four Seasons Hotel in Tribeca on Monday, December 20. In photos posted by the Daily Mail, Davidson kept it casual in a cozy fleece jumper and green T-shirt paired with sweatpants and New Balance kicks. He grinned while holding his phone up to his ear. Days prior, the Guy Code alum was joined by the Skims CEO, 41, at a movie theater in Staten Island. The pair were spotted shortly after news broke that the Saturday, December 18, episode of SNL would be downsized amid concerns of a COVID-19 outbreak. Though his date night raised eyebrows, a source later told Us Weekly that Davidson didn’t “skip” the taping to spend time with Kardashian. The reality star, for her part, is “loving” getting to know the comedian’s hometown, a second source exclusively revealed. “They’re clearly not hiding their romance. It seems like they want to just be able to do things any normal couple would do and have fun together,” the insider noted, adding that Kardashian appreciates the “more low-key” vibe of the NYC borough. Davidson and the California native sparked romance rumors weeks after she hosted the NBC sketch comedy series in early October. The following month, they were photographed holding hands in Palm Springs, California, confirming their relationship. While fans were surprised by the unlikely duo, Kardashian’s inner circle has been totally supportive. “They all encouraged her to go for it,” a source told Us in November of the makeup mogul’s family and friends. “It’s been very obvious for a while now that she’s been missing some fun and laughter in her life, and of course Pete offers that in abundance.” The Selfish author is drawn to Davidson’s “witty and laid back” personality, per the insider, and those close to Kardashian “are happy” to see her with someone new amid her split from Kanye West. In February, Us confirmed that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum filed for divorce from the Grammy winner, 44, after nearly seven years of marriage. The estranged couple share children North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2. While West has made several public pleas for Kardashian to give their relationship another try, she referred to her marriage as “irremediably broken down” in a recent court filing. “[Kardashian] no longer desires to be married to [West],” the December 10 docs state, requesting for the court to declare the KKW Beauty founder legally single. “There is no question that the marriage of the parties is no longer viable. [Kardashian] has no desire to reconcile with [West] and wants their marriage terminated. Irreconcilable differences have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage, and there is no possibility of saving the marriage through counseling or other means.” The musician has allegedly “been non-responsive” as Kardashian attempts to “move this case forward to a speedy and amicable resolution,” per her petition, which concluded, “[West] and I both deserve the opportunity to build new lives.” |
