Jennifer Lopez Seemingly Gives Subtle Nod to Ben Affleck in 'Cozy' Pic Posted: 23 Dec 2021 12:38 PM PST ![]() A romantic Easter egg. Jennifer Lopez recently showed off a new coat, but eagle-eyed fans noticed a possible hidden reference to her boyfriend, Ben Affleck. “Cozy morning in my Super Puff,” the “Jenny From the Block” singer, 52, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, December 21, alongside a photo of herself relaxing in a white Aritzia puffer jacket. In her hand, however, was the object fans found interesting: a coffee mug bearing the initial “B.” As J. Lo fans know, there is no one in the Grammy winner’s immediate family whose name starts with a “B.” The 13-year-old twins she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony are named Max and Emme, and her sisters names’ both start with “L.” Her mother, meanwhile, is named Guadalupe Rodríguez. The Hustlers actress and the Oscar winner, 49, rekindled their relationship earlier this year after Lopez split from ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez. The JLo Beauty founder and the Argo director were previously engaged from 2002 to 2004. Last month, the Marry Me star said she would “100 percent” consider getting married again in the future. "You know me, I'm a romantic, I always have been,” she said during a November appearance on the Today show. “I still believe in happily ever after, for sure." The New York City native has been married three times: to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, to Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003 and to Anthony, 53, from 2004 to 2014. Affleck, for his part, was married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018. The duo share daughters Violet, 16, Seraphina, 12, and son Samuel, 9. Earlier this month, the Good Will Hunting actor hinted that he hasn’t ruled out another walk down the aisle. “The most important thing is being a good father,” he told WSJ. Magazine for its January 2022 issue. “The second most important thing is to be a good man. And a good person. And, ostensibly, you know, a good husband. Hopefully." After the Deep Water star and Lopez made their red carpet debut in September, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the pair were seriously thinking about their future together. "They feel so blessed to be living this real-life fairy tale, and will be getting engaged — then married — down the line," the insider said at the time. "Without any shadow of doubt." The twosome were partly encouraged by their successful outing at the Venice International Film Festival premiere of Affleck’s film The Last Duel. "Going red carpet official was a wonderful experience, and they were just so proud to shout their love from the rooftops like they did," the insider explained. "The messages were pouring in from all over Hollywood and beyond, saying how cute they looked, and that meant the world to both Ben and J. Lo." |

All the Feels! Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's Friendship Through the Years Posted: 23 Dec 2021 12:28 PM PST Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga may have played onscreen love interests in A Star Is Born, but it's their offscreen bond that has driven fans wild. The twosome formed a friendship while filming the critically acclaimed 2018 musical, which also marked Cooper’s directorial debut. The filmmaker revealed that one of his first encounters with the singer actually happened before they joined the project when they bonded over a shared meal. "I was hungry, she made me food," Cooper shared during an appearance on Conan in September 2018, noting that Gaga offered him some leftover pasta that she had in her home. "It was insane. She made me feel so comfortable." When A Star Is Born premiered the following month, viewers couldn’t help but wonder whether the chemistry between Cooper and Gaga in the roles of Jack and Ally, respectively, was more than acting. At the time, the American Hustle star was in a relationship with Irina Shayk and Gaga was engaged to Christian Carino. Cooper and Shayk began dating in 2015 and welcomed their first child together two years later. Following the birth of their daughter, Lea, the "Million Reasons" singer gushed about the Limitless actor’s transition to parenthood, telling Elle in November 2019, "He's a beautiful father.” Earlier that year, Cooper and Shayk called it quits after four years of dating. Gaga, for her part, ended her engagement to Carino in February 2019 after two years together. In June 2019, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Shayk wasn’t worried about Cooper’s close friendship with Gaga, but the movie still had “a major impact” on the model’s relationship. "Even though there was nothing romantic between Bradley and Gaga, the noise was difficult for Irina to deal with," the insider said. However, the "Bad Romance" singer clarified that she and Cooper played up their chemistry with the goal of promoting their film. “For me, as a performer and as an actress, of course we wanted people to believe that we were in love,” she told Elle in November 2019, reflecting on their iconic rendition of “Shallow” at the Academy Awards earlier that year. “And we wanted people to feel that love at the Oscars. We wanted it to go right through the lens of that camera and to every television that it was being watched on.” Gaga later revealed that the Nightmare Alley star’s support impacted her acting career after A Star Is Born was released. (She went on to earn acclaim for her performance in 2021’s House of Gucci.) “Bradley Cooper really believed in me for the role of Ally Maine. The way that he empowered me to take helm of that character, as well as take helm of the soundtrack, and work with him so closely on a movie about music and a movie about musicians, [that] really was the success of our artistic collaboration,” she told Entertainment Weekly's "Awardist" podcast in December 2021. "And I think that landed me where I am now, which is where I'm able to read lots of scripts and talk to lots of different directors. And it's a true honor." Scroll down to see all the times Cooper and Gaga were friendship goals: ![]() The Hangover star also dished on bonding with Gaga over their heritage. “I didn’t know you were Italian,” Cooper recalled at the Venice Film Festival in August 2018, speaking directly to the Grammy winner. He added: “I remember when we first met, after 10 minutes we were eating homemade food that she cooked – I love to eat – and that was actually a huge bond that we both came from East Coast Italian-American families. So we had a real synchronicity on that level from our upbringing." Stephane Cardinale - Corbis/Corbis via Getty Images ![]() "She really gave me the confidence," Cooper told Vogue in September 2018 of Gaga’s assistance in helping him gain the momentum to channel his inner singer to portray Jackson. Gaga added: “He sings from his gut, from the nectar. I knew instantly: This guy could play a rock star. And I don't think there are a lot of people in Hollywood who can. That was the moment I knew this film could be something truly special." Clay Enos/Warner Bros. ![]() After the Pennsylvania native was snubbed of an Oscar nomination for his directorial debut, the “Born This Way” songstress expressed her gratitude to him, revealing he’s “the best director” in her eyes. “I know that he’s so happy that we’ve all been nominated and that the film was recognized and we all feel really, really beyond elated for the recognition," Gaga told the Los Angeles Times in January 2019. Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for The Critics' Choice Awards ![]() Gaga and Cooper delivered a swoon-worthy performance of “Shallow” at the 91st annual Academy Awards in February 2019 that had fans convinced that the costars had real feelings for each other. The pair rarely broke eye contact during the ballad, with Cooper later joining Gaga at the piano where he lovingly nestling his head in her neck. Kevin Winter/Getty Images ![]() Three years after A Star Is Born introduced people to the twosome sharing the screen, the Wedding Crashers star addressed speculation about the duo's steamy Oscars performance. “Just from a personal standpoint, it reduces the anxiety level,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in November 2021. “They kind of fall in love in that scene in the film. It’s that explosive moment that happens to happen to them on a stage in front of thousands of people. … It would have been so weird if we were both on stools facing the audience.” James Gourley/Shutterstock ![]() During an episode of Entertainment Weekly’s “Awardist” podcast, Gaga revealed that she “absolutely” asked the Marvel actor for advice before taking on the role of Patrizia Reggiani in House of Gucci, noting, “I’ve confided in Bradley for years. And I’ve always appreciated his support and his advice, his thoughts on my future endeavors.” Andrew H. Walker/Shutterstock |
Jaden Smith Reveals He’s Gained 10 Lbs After Family Intervention Posted: 23 Dec 2021 11:25 AM PST ![]() Getting back on track. Jaden Smith detailed how an intervention from his parents, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, helped him gain weight after photos of him looking very thin went viral. The Get Down alum, 23, said on the Wednesday, December 22, episode of Red Table Talk that he “definitely” feels better after his mom and dad encouraged him to alter his diet. “I was able to work with the doctors and really get my vitamins and get my supplements and protein shakes,” he explained. “That’s half of my diet. It’s like a password that I have to find to my body.” The Karate Kid star added that he’s “10 pounds heavier now,” noting, “I feel like I’m keeping on my weight. I’m able to put on my muscle.” Back in 2019, the Magic Mike XXL actress, 50, and her husband, 53, revealed that they had a “bit of an intervention” with their son when they thought his health was suffering because of his strict eating habits. “We realized he wasn’t getting enough protein,” Jada said in September of that year. “He was wasting away. He just looked drained, he was just depleted, he wasn’t getting the nutrients.” Will, for his part, said that Jaden had “dark circles” under his eyes and developed a “grayness” tone to his skin. “We got really nervous,” he added. At the time, the “Cabin Fever” singer said that he was switching back and forth between vegan and vegetarian diets, but he admitted that he probably wasn’t eating enough each day. “I was just eating, like, two meals a day … maybe one,” he explained. “Maybe just that one big meal and I’m like, ‘Oh, you know, I didn’t get around to it.'” ![]() Though Jaden previously expressed annoyance with his parents for publicly discussing their “intervention,” he changed his tune, noting on Wednesday that he's happy that he has a better handle on his nutritional needs now. “That was a long way from where I was when I was at Coachella, where I just was just, like, bones,” he said on Red Table Talk, referencing his April 2019 appearance at the musical festival. “I thought I was so tight! I was like, ‘This. I’m swagging on this. Like, I need to take off my shirt right now.'” Earlier this year, Jaden’s sister, Willow Smith, was similarly candid about her mental health during an episode of “The Yungblud Podcast.” The “Whip My Hair” singer, 21, discussed whether releasing new music had helped her heal from some of the anxiety she faced as a child star. “For so long, I had a lot of fear that was just, like, in my heart, and just sitting there. I felt extremely unsafe in my music career in the past, and that feeling of insecurity or un-safety — I just didn't feel protected, which went really deep," she said in July. "And now I'm kind of going back in, and it's so interesting because all of those memories and emotions have just been resurfacing.” New episodes of Red Table Talk are available to stream via Facebook Watch on Wednesdays. |
Olivia Jade: Tom Felton Slid Into My DMs — But I 'Didn't Get' His Joke Posted: 23 Dec 2021 11:03 AM PST ![]() A sly Slytherin! Olivia Jade Giannulli revealed that Tom Felton once slid into her DMs — but his Harry Potter reference didn't get her attention. “I’m really sorry I’m going to expose you, but I think you’re probably a really nice person,” the Dancing With the Stars alum, 22, said during the Thursday, December 23, episode of E!’s Down in the DMs before sharing Felton's unsuccessful opening line. According to Giannulli, the 34-year-old British actor wrote, “Hello mate. Dig your work,” adding a snake emoji which playfully referenced his Harry Potter character, Draco Malfoy, and his house mascot. “I haven’t seen the Harry Potter movies, so I didn’t get the joke,” the beauty influencer explained. “I didn’t respond and now I just exposed that I’ve seen it and I didn’t respond so that’s also rude of me." The California native noted that "most people would probably understand [the snake] and be excited by it," but it was over her head. "I just need to watch more movies," she joked. Felton may have crashed and burned with Giannulli, but he has found love on more than one occasion. The Forgotten Battle actor was previously linked to singer Melissa Tamschick and The Originals' Phoebe Tonkin before dating Harry Potter crew member Jade Olivia Gordon from 2008 to 2016. Felton has previously raised eyebrows for his relationship with Harry Potter costar Emma Watson, who revealed she had a crush on the Ophelia star when they were kids. Despite fans' desire for them to be a romantic couple, both actors have maintained they are just friends these days. "Lovely Emma. We do see each other quite a lot actually. We just don't always post pictures about it," the Flash alum exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2018. "Everyone loves the reunion of it. We're reuniting all the time. We just don't always post it on Instagram. … I always enjoy spending time with her." The "Conversations With Olivia Jade" podcast host, for her part, had an on-off relationship with musician Jackson Guthy beginning in January 2019. The influencer confirmed in August that the duo had parted ways. Earlier this month, the daughter of Lori Loughlin sparked relationship speculation with Jacob Elordi after he split from Kaia Gerber one month prior. The YouTuber and the Euphoria actor, 24, are "enjoying hanging out together," a source exclusively told Us on Wednesday, December 22. The pair have been on "some dates" recently but are "keeping it casual" for now, the insider added. |
Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid’s PDA-Filled Romance Before Split Posted: 23 Dec 2021 11:02 AM PST One kiss is all it took! Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid showed major PDA throughout their romance ahead of their 2021 split. The couple's romance first made headlines in June 2019, when Lipa was on hand for Hadid's 20th birthday festivities. The Sun published a video of the singer laughing as the birthday boy received his cake, and the newspaper reported that the duo had just enjoyed a "string of dates" in Malibu and that Lipa "really gets on with" Hadid. That birthday bash came just weeks after Lipa split with boyfriend Isaac Carew, ending three and a half years of dating on and off. In July 2019, Lipa reportedly locked lips with Chris Martin after he briefly split from Dakota Johnson, but the Coldplay frontman's rep denied the rumors and asserted the pair are "just friends." For his part, Hadid split from Bates Motel actress Nicola Peltz in 2018 after more than a year of dating. He was also spotted making out with Kendall Jenner at a CFDA Awards afterparty in NYC that June. Lipa, who rose to fame with tracks like "IDGAF" and "New Rules," gave glimpses into her love life in September 2018 as she played the role of advice columnist for Elle UK magazine. "There's so much fun in being single," she observed at the time. "When I'm single, I end up having so much more time to do a lot of other stuff. When you're in a relationship, the time you do have off, you tend to dedicate to that one person. While that can be fun, it's also good to go out and do everything on your own terms. I am totally into monogamy, but I think it's also important to experience life on your own, at least for a little bit. I think you learn so much about yourself when you're completely alone and you have no one to go to for help for certain things. You learn to rely on yourself in a different way." She also talked about those three little words: "There is a danger in saying 'I love you' too soon, but sometimes you'll meet someone who makes you feel a certain way, and it seems like the most natural thing to say. You shouldn't be afraid of it. If it's meant to be, there's no such thing as 'going too fast'. It will feel right. And if it doesn't work out, that's OK, too. As much as I tell myself not to rush into something, or be careful not to say 'I love you' too fast without knowing if there's any substance in the relationship, it's important to go with your gut. Life is too short not to say 'I love you.'" Us Weekly confirmed in December 2021 that Lipa and Hadid had split after two years of dating. Tiffany Haddish and Common’s Relationship Timeline Posted: 23 Dec 2021 10:57 AM PST Finding love on set! After first connecting while playing love interests in the 2019 film The Kitchen, Tiffany Haddish and Common took their time time bringing their romance off screen. In April 2020, the duo sparked dating rumors when they teamed up for Bumble's virtual dating campaign. One month later, Haddish and the Oscar winner (real name Lonnie Rashid Lynn) seemingly confirmed that they were quarantining together during the COVID-19 pandemic. They were also spotted with one another at a Black Lives Matter protest in Los Angeles in June 2020. The comedian hinted at their bond later that summer, telling Stephen Colbert that it “was quite a negotiation” to get the musician to participate in a TikTok video with her. “I’m like, ‘Look, I want to shoot this video. I need you to be in it with me.’ And he was like, ‘Nah, that’s really not my style. I’m not really known for that. That’s not really my thing,'” the Bad Trip actress said during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in July 2020. Although Common wasn’t up for it at first, he became interested in the process and the pair eventually did 18 takes for the short clip. “I’m like, ‘For somebody who didn’t want to do this, you now want to do another take and another take, come on bro,'” she joked. “But we had a good time. We were laughing.” Soon after, the Like a Boss star confirmed her romance with the rapper while detailing how they moved out of the friend zone. “I met Common when I was filming my movie The Kitchen, he was in it. He was, I guess, kind of like my love interest,” Haddish explained during an interview on the “Wild Ride! With Steve-O” podcast in July 2020. “I made out with him in the movie and we became friends but it wasn’t anything sexual … because my eyes were set on something else.” Working together on the Bumble campaign helped the twosome grow closer — and the Night School star found herself falling for the Chicago native. “I've lost 20 pounds since I've been in this relationship. I feel more confident in me and it's not him that's doing it,” Haddish noted at the time. “I'm just way happier and it's, like, knowing I got somebody that cares about me, that really has my back. It seems like he does anyways, and I love it. I love him.” As their romance got more serious, the California native revealed that she had "taken the precaution to protect" herself against an unplanned pregnancy with her boyfriend. “Let me tell you, if I get pregnant, that is all God — tearing down all walls, all barriers," the Grammy winner joked during an appearance on E!’s Daily Pop in May 2021. “Now, if that did happen, we’re gonna hire some help, then we’re gonna cry a lot. … And I’m not gonna be ‘baby mama,’ I’m gonna be ‘wife.'” Scroll down to relive Haddish and Common’s love story: ![]() The couple met after they were both cast in the crime drama The Kitchen in 2019. I don’t think the love really dispersed … [but] we weren’t feeding the relationship. … Neither one of us is gonna stop,” he explained. “We both care about our crafts and what we do. Royal Family’s Merriest Holiday Cards Through the Years Posted: 23 Dec 2021 10:52 AM PST A very royal Christmas! Britain's beloved royal family has been spreading holiday cheer over the years through their festive season's greetings cards. Prince William and Duchess Kate often used the special occasion to document their growing family after their 2011 nuptials. The pair, who share Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, showed how much their children have grown in their festive 2021 photo, writing via Instagram, "Delighted to share a new image of the family, which features on this year's Christmas card.” In the sweet snap, William and Kate matched in green while their children kept it casual with their blue and camouflage outfits. That same month, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the royal family was expected to reunite with Queen Elizabeth II for the holidays after having to isolate the previous year due to COVID-19. “The Cambridges are spending Christmas with the Queen at Sandringham. It's going to be a big family affair,” the insider detailed to Us in December 2020 noting that, “George, Charlotte and Louis are absolutely delighted to be seeing their great grandmother in person again.” According to the source, William and Kate’s kids “spent hours picking out their own festive gifts for [the queen], and Charlotte and George made her paintings of The Christmas Story in art class at school.” Amid the exciting holiday preparations, the insider also added that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would be attempting to shift their focus in 2022 following a hectic year. “[William and Kate] are looking forward to starting fresh in the New Year. We'll be seeing a transition of responsibility — they're taking on additional charity work, attending more events and making appearances,” the source said at the time. “There's even a royal tour in the works, and of course they're heavily involved in the Platinum Jubilee.” The royal family’s plans to focus on the future came after major ups and downs with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2021. Harry and Meghan made headlines when they announced that they were stepping back from their duties as working members of the royal family one year prior. In February 2021, they confirmed their decision to not return to their senior roles and instead move to California. The Sussexes went on to address the reason why they chose a different path for their family during a tell-all interview on CBS in March 2021. "I was trapped but I didn’t know I was trapped," Harry, who shares Archie and Lili with his wife, said at the time. "Trapped within the system like the rest of the family. My father [Prince Charles] and my brother are trapped. They don’t get to leave and I have huge compassion for that." One month later, tragedy struck the royal family when Prince Philip passed away at the age of 99. At the time, Elizabeth shared a special tribute to her partner of over 74 years. “While as a family we are in a period of great sadness, it has been a comfort to us all to see and to hear the tributes paid to my husband, from those within the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and around the world,” she wrote in a statement via Instagram shortly after Philip’s death. “My family and I would like to thank you for all the support and kindness shown to us in recent days. We have been deeply touched, and continue to be reminded that Philip had such an extraordinary impact on countless people throughout his life.” As the monarch entered her mourning period, another source told Us that the queen was “overwhelmed” by the “outpouring of love” that she received. “Elizabeth has found it cathartic to soak up all the well-wishes and tributes to the man she loved unconditionally for countless decades,” the insider shared with Us. “Seeing how many lives he touched has been nothing short of extraordinary.” Scroll down to revisit the most merry royal holiday cards: ![]() King George V and Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth’s grandparents, sent this elegant card to British World War I soldiers. Congressional Panel Launches Investigation After Astroworld Tragedy Posted: 23 Dec 2021 10:26 AM PST Travis Scott's 2021 Astroworld Festival left nine attendees dead and more injured after a crowd rushed the stage. While the 29-year-old "Sicko Mode" rapper performed in Houston, Texas, on Friday, November 5, the crowd surged forward and caused a mass accident. "This is a tragic night," Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña said during a news conference early on Saturday, November 6. "We know that we had at least at least 8 confirmed fatalities tonight and we had scores of individuals that were injured here in this event." Peña noted that nearly 50,000 individuals attended the music festival, explaining that around 9:00 p.m. the crowd had "began to compress toward the front of the stage," which caused panic and injuries. "At the start of the mass casualty incident, when it was triggered … We transferred 17 patients to the hospital," Peña added at the time. "We won't know the cause of death of the eight that were confirmed until the medical examiner has completed his investigation, but we are in the process — Houston Police Department — is sending units to the hospitals to identify these patients." The incident took place at the sold-out outdoor festival, which was held at NRG Park. The crowd surge “was from panic because people were running for safety,” a source close to the investigation tells Us Weekly. “The quick response from Astroworld security and staff on site undoubtedly saved even more people from being hurt or worse." During the show, Scott paused his performance "three times" to ask what had happened, according to one source. "He asked for everybody in the area to go help them and bring them to the front," an insider told Us. "As soon as they were made aware of what was happening, they ended the performance in the interest of public safety.” The event's official social media page shared a statement of support early on Saturday, writing, "Our hearts are with the Astroworld Festival family tonight — especially those we lost and their loved ones. We are focused on supporting local officials however we can." In the statement, it was confirmed that the festival's Saturday lineup had been canceled. "As authorities mentioned in their press conference earlier, they are looking into the series of cardiac arrests that took place," the social media statement read. "Thank you to our partners at the Houston Police Department, Fire Department and NRG Park for their response and support." Scott's partner, Kylie Jenner, shared footage from the concert hours earlier via Instagram Story, having attended alongside sister Kendall Jenner. The 24-year-old Kylie Cosmetics founder posted snaps of a trailer with 3-year-old daughter Stormi's name on it alongside concert videos during the rapper's set. In Jenner's Instagram videos, the packed crowd was seen jumping during her beau’s performance, which was complete with pyrotechnics on stage. The musician's annual festival completed a week's worth of "Astroweek" programming, which he described via Instagram in October as "a wild week." "But injecting the city with inspirational features and activities for charity is a must," Scott wrote at the time. "Join us thru out the week for a bunch of Scroll below to learn more about the incident so far: ![]() The sold-out crowd in Houston, Texas, rushed the stage during Scott’s set at 9:30 p.m., which caused mass panic and hysteria and led to numerous accidents and injuries. During a press conference on November 11, attorney James Lassiter announced the death of a 22-year-old college student who was in the crowd, bringing the total number of casualties to nine. On November 14, 9-year-old Ezra Blount died of injuries sustained during the festival, bringing the number of deaths to 10. Blount, who also became the youngest person to die from injuries at Astroworld, was placed in a medically induced coma after he was trampled on November 5. "The Blount family tonight is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son," the family's attorney, Benjamin Crump, said in a statement. You want to make sure fans get the proper attention they need. Anytime I could see anything like that, I did. I stopped it a couple times to just make sure everybody was OK. Aly & AJ's Dad Hospitalized for COVID-19 After Voicemail 'Alarmed' Them Posted: 23 Dec 2021 10:19 AM PST A harrowing update. Aly and AJ Michalka revealed that their father, Mark Michalka, has been hospitalized for pneumonia and COVID-19 after he left them a worrying voicemail. “Reminder to check in on your loved ones this holiday season,” the sisters tweeted from their official account on Wednesday, December 22. “Our Dad wasn't feeling well & we became alarmed after hearing a voicemail from him. Immediately dropped everything & drove to his house.” After Aly, 32, and AJ, 30, went to check on him, they realized he needed medical attention. “Long story short he has Covid & Pneumonia,” the singing duo added. “He's being treated at a hospital now.” In a second tweet, the musicians reflected on how it feels to become more responsible for an aging parent’s health. “It's hard to come to terms with, but as we get older it's our turn to take care of our parents when they won't/can't take care of themselves,” they wrote. “A lot of times they want to hide their suffering from us because they think it's a burden, when really it's our duty to step in.” The “Pretty Places” singers are the latest celebrities to speak out about their personal connection to the coronavirus as cases rise across the United States. Earlier this month, Billie Eilish revealed that she suffered from a breakthrough case of COVID-19 in August. "I didn't die, and I wasn't gonna die, but that does not take away from how miserable it was. It was terrible," the Grammy winner told Howard Stern on December 13. "I still have side effects. I was sick for, like, two months almost." The “Bad Guy” singer went on to credit her vaccine with saving her life. "I think if I weren't vaccinated, I would have, like, died, because it was bad," she explained. "When I say it was bad, I more just mean that it felt horrible. But really, in the scheme of COVID, it was not bad. You know what I mean? When you're sick, you feel f–king horrible." The pandemic has also continued to wreak havoc on concert tours and film and TV production schedules, with plenty of events being postponed and canceled again because of outbreaks. The Critics Choice Association announced on Wednesday that the 2022 Critics Choice Awards, originally scheduled for January 9, will be postponed to a still-unannounced later date. "After thoughtful consideration and candid conversations with our partners at The CW and TBS, we have collectively come to the conclusion that the prudent and responsible decision at this point is to postpone the 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards,” the organization told Variety in a statement. "We will be sharing additional details with our friends and colleagues throughout the entertainment industry as soon as we can." |
Why Tiffany Haddish Is 'Disappointed' in Ex Common's Breakup Explanation Posted: 23 Dec 2021 10:18 AM PST ![]() Not on the same page? Common may have blamed a busy schedule for his split from Tiffany Haddish — but she has a different version of events. Haddish, 42, revealed during an interview on FOX SOUL’s Hollywood Unlocked Uncensored with Jason Lee that the explanation Common, 49, gave for their recent breakup didn’t make sense to her, according to a Wednesday, December 22, clip. “He might be the type of person that never really settles with somebody, maybe he’s like, you know, like a bee going from flower to flower to flower,” the comedian claimed. “I don’t know. I wish him nothing but joy and happiness, you know. He will always be cool.” The Girls Trip actress admitted that she was “disappointed” to hear the reasoning the musician gave for them going their separate ways, adding, “I was very disappointed. I was like, ‘Oh, OK. ‘Cause that’s not what you told me, but OK.'” Although Haddish still had questions about why the romance really fizzled out, the Emmy winner attempted to look on the bright side, calling the split “a new opportunity” for her. “I miss him. I miss him from time to time, but that’s with, I think, any intimate relationship that you might have, you miss them,” she shared in the Wednesday video. “But I’m fine with it. It’s cool.” Haddish and Common met while playing love interests in the 2019 film The Kitchen. One year later, the duo sparked dating rumors when they teamed up for Bumble's virtual dating campaign. Shortly after they quarantined together during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Last Black Unicorn author confirmed that she was dating the rapper. “I've lost 20 pounds since I've been in this relationship. I feel more confident in me and it's not him that's doing it,” Haddish said during an interview on the “Wild Ride! With Steve-O” podcast in July 2020. “I'm just way happier and it's, like, knowing I got somebody that cares about me, that really has my back. It seems like he does anyways, and I love it. I love him.” Multiple outlets reported in November that the pair called it quits after more than one year of dating. Earlier this month, the Golden Globe winner gushed about the time he spent with Haddish before their split. “That's what made me love her and be in love with her and want to be in a relationship with her and grow with her,” Common explained on Hollywood Unlocked With Jason Lee: Uncensored, referring to the California native as “one of the best people I’ve met in life, one of the best-hearted and most authentic and caring people that I've met in life.” Common noted that they had “a real healthy and loving relationship,” but things in their professional lives just didn’t line up, claiming the duo “came to an understanding” about putting their careers first. “It probably was the most mature relationship I have been in … meaning the communication, the respect, just all around, man,” he added at the time. “Even from the standpoint of dealing with the pandemic and being around each other, and communicating, and knowing how to navigate that. … a lot of relationships that I honestly have been in, I’ve been on the move because me and that person, we both had professions. I don't think the love really dispersed. I just think it was like we weren't feeding the relationship.” He continued: “Neither one of us is gonna stop. We both care about our crafts and what we do. We care about love too and partnership, but I think the energy that has been put into our careers and continuing to want to do the things that we do for ourselves and for the people, it was hard for me to balance all of that and keep the relationship fed.” Before going their separate ways, the former costar’s friends saw their love lasting. A source exclusively told Us Weekly in July that the pair have been “such a great couple” and that their loved ones “love them as a couple,” adding that many even “see them in it for the long run.” |
It’s Over! Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid Split, Go 'On a Break' After 2 Years Posted: 23 Dec 2021 10:00 AM PST ![]() Pressing pause! Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid are "on a break" after dating more than two years, a source confirms to Us Weekly. "They’re no longer dating," the insider adds of the twosome who were first linked in June 2019 but haven’t been seen together since early November. The 26-year-old singer and the 22-year-old model first made headlines in 2019 after Lipa was spotted at Hadid's 20th birthday celebration. The former couple took their romance public in October 2019 when they were seen together in New York City on multiple occasions. Lipa appeared to grow close with Hadid's family later that month as she attended Anwar's sister Bella Hadid's 23rd birthday and posed for photos with the whole group, including his eldest sister, Gigi Hadid. The pair made their red carpet debut the following month while attending the 2019 American Music Awards. While the former lovebirds continued to post photos together on social media during the first year of their romance, it wasn't until May 2020 that Lipa revealed how they first linked up. The British singer revealed during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that she slid into Anwar's DMs before they started dating. “I definitely did that,” the pop star teased. “We actually met at a barbecue, but it then carried on to DMs.” The "Levitating" artist gushed over her man on their one-year anniversary in June 2020. “Nothing sweeter than 365 days joint at the hip with you The "Don't Start Now" songstress opened up further about her relationship with Anwar in a February interview with British Vogue, noting they are "quite private" for the most part. “We have all these incredible memories and experiences, and if there’s something that we want to share together, then OK that’s fun," she explained at the time. “We’ll only show you as much as we want you to see. It’s a little bit of give and take, trying to find the right balance of being so excited and being in love, and wanting to share that with the people around me, but at the same time not wanting to put too much out there.” The following month, Anwar showed his then-girlfriend some love after she won Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys by throwing her a butterfly-themed party. Lipa posted a series of photos with Anwar in September during a trip to the Big Apple. "I Anwar, however, isn't the only person in his family to have a recent breakup. Gigi, 26, called it quits from Zayn Malik earlier this year amid drama with her mom, Yolanda Hadid. Getting Cozy! Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler Are 'Low-Key' Dating Posted: 23 Dec 2021 08:51 AM PST New couple alert! Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler are officially dating following her split from Jacob Elordi, Us Weekly confirms. “They are low-key dating," a source exclusively tells Us. "It’s still very new." Earlier this week, Gerber, 20, and the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor, 30, attended a yoga class together. In the photos, they wore workout clothes and face masks, per COVID-19 guidelines, as they walked on a sidewalk together. Days later, they were spotted arriving at the Los Angeles airport on Wednesday, December 22. ![]() The couple's romance comes one month after Us confirmed that the model had split from the Euphoria star, 24, after one year of dating. "She handles herself wonderfully publicly," the Australia native told Men's Health in an interview published on Monday, December 20, noting that he has "learned so much" from Gerber about dealing with fame. "[She taught me] how to deal with it and just kind of be whatever about it, you know?" The daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber — who also briefly dated Pete Davidson in October 2019 — was first linked with the 2 Hearts star in September 2020 after they were photographed together in New York and California. While the exes primarily kept details of their relationship under wraps, the American Horror Story alum gushed about her then-partner and finding love during a May Vogue profile. "Being able to be with someone I trust, where we don't want anything from each other, having a safe, steady relationship like that, has really opened my eyes to the possibilities of love and what it feels like to love without conditions," the Los Angeles native told the outlet. "Lust is touching other people or wanting them, but love is really seeing someone." (Elordi, meanwhile, is currently seeing Olivia Jade Giannulli and the pair are keeping things casual.) Nearly one year earlier, Kaia opened up about codependent relationships after her breakup from the Saturday Night Live star, 28. "I've always kind of been the person who's like, 'I'll let everyone else be sad,’" Kaia told Lena Dunham during an April 2020 Instagram Live, revealing she has a difficult time being vulnerable about her emotions. "One of my favorite self-help books is Codependent No More … Even if you're not technically codependent, just not allowing your happiness to rely on someone else's I think is a huge thing. Because I was like, 'I'm so independent. I'm good,' and I was reading that book and I was like, 'Nope, I am absolutely codependent.’" Before romancing Kaia, Butler, for his part, was previously spotted kissing Lily-Rose Depp in August, months after he split from longtime girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens. "Vanessa and Austin are officially broken up, and Vanessa has been telling those close to her about their breakup," a source exclusively told Us in January 2020. Inside Prince William, Duchess Kate's Christmas Plans Without Sandringham Posted: 23 Dec 2021 08:34 AM PST ![]() Making it work. Queen Elizabeth II canceled her traditional Christmas trip to Sandringham, but she’ll still get to spend some time with the royal family. The monarch, 95, will spend Christmas Day at Windsor Castle with Prince William and Duchess Kate as well as Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, according to royal expert Omid Scobie. The group is also expected to be joined by the queen’s youngest sons Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. Elizabeth’s daughter, Princess Anne, will likely not participate in the festivities as she will still be self-isolating with her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, after he tested positive for coronavirus. Earlier this month, Elizabeth canceled her annual pre-Christmas lunch because of rising coronavirus infection rates in the U.K. Days later, Us Weekly confirmed that she also scrapped her usual visit to Sandringham. This will mark the second year in a row that the queen hasn’t spent Christmas at the countryside estate. ![]() Hours before Us confirmed Elizabeth’s change of plans, royal expert Kerene Barefield said that aides were already looking at backup options for a holiday celebration at Windsor if the Sandringham trip couldn’t happen. “I think close aides are kind of looking at an alternative Christmas and how that would look at Windsor instead of everyone going to Sandringham,” Barefield explained to Us. “What I understand from sources is that she won't be spending it alone, but it might be just slimmed down even further.” Ahead of her possible visit with the queen, the Duchess of Cambridge, 39, spearheaded a TV concert special called Royal Carols: Together at Christmas, which will air on Christmas Eve in the U.K. The event was filmed earlier in the month, but on Wednesday, December 22, Kensington Palace released a transcript of the speech Kate gave before the service. "We've been through such a bleak time," the duchess said. "We've seen so many challenges. We've lost our loved ones. We've seen our frontline workers under immense pressure. And also, we've been more emotionally and socially distanced and isolated from each other." Though Kate noted how difficult the past two years have been, she told the crowd that she thought the hardship had helped people understand the importance of connection. “I suppose through that separation, we've also realized how much we need each other and how acts of kindness and love can really bring us comfort and relief in times of distress,” she continued. "In the congregation tonight, we've got many inspirational individuals. We owe them a huge debt of gratitude for all they've done in bringing people together and supporting their communities." According to a press release from the palace, the audience was made up of “unsung heroes” from around the U.K. “in recognition of the inspirational efforts to protect and care for those around them." |
'Home Alone’ Actor Devin Ratray Arrested After Allegedly Strangling Girlfriend Posted: 23 Dec 2021 08:14 AM PST UPDATE 12/23/21 11:14 a.m. ET Devin Ratray has been arrested in Oklahoma City after allegedly strangling his girlfriend, Us Weekly confirms. The Hustlers actor was charged with one count of domestic assault and battery by strangulation and another count of domestic assault and battery. Original story below: Devin Ratray, who played Buzz McCallister in the original Home Alone movies, was reportedly issued a ticket for assault and battery after an alleged altercation with his girlfriend. Ratray, 44, allegedly attempted to strangle his partner when the pair were staying together at an Oklahoma City hotel on December 9, multiple outlets reported after the supposed dispute. Ratray was issued a citation that morning, though no arrest was made. One day later, the former child star's girlfriend met with authorities to give a statement, claiming that Ratray "beat the crap out of her," per the police report. ![]() The Girls alum's rep told TMZ earlier this month that the pair got into a verbal argument before breaking up, denying the situation turned physical. The subject of their disagreement remains unknown. Ratray is best known for portraying Kevin McCallister’s (Macaulay Culkin) older brother in the 1990s-era holiday movies, recently returning to his role on the Disney+ reboot, Home Sweet Home Alone. "On November 12th … Officer McCallister is on patrol. Keeping the streets safe. From Trout Sniffers," the actor wrote via Instagram in November alongside a snap of himself in costume. In the 1990 film and its 1992 sequel, Ratray played Kevin's eldest brother, who had a difficult relationship with his younger sibling before growing up to be a police officer in the revival. In the new iteration — which premiered last month — Ratray's character told his fellow officers to ignore calls about children being left behind at home during the holidays, noting, "[Kevin] called in the 289 to mess with me. The idiot does it every year." The My Girl star, 41, did not appear in the comedy, but his onscreen brother was excited to bring his character back to life. "People either know me right away or they find out after knowing me for some time. It can be quite a surprise. I don't look the same as I did when I was 13," the New York native told Den of Geek in December 2020 about his experience working on the first movie. "Chris [Columbus, the director] encouraged me to explore the material. If I felt like throwing in a line or improvising, he wanted me to do that so he could get a better sense of who I was. He made me feel at ease and very comfortable and I walked out feeling quite relaxed. It was a pretty good experience in terms of an auditioning process and just a total joy when I got the part." He added at the time, “Maybe he felt that he could work with someone who didn't come across as nervous on camera. I don't know what it was but I'm just grateful that I got it. … Up until then, I had played either nerds or bullies — both ends of the spectrum — but playing the bad guy is always more fun, and playing a nasty, surly, rude teenage bastard like Buzz was great." |
Former 'SATC' Stand-In Claims Chris Noth's Set Behavior Was ‘Disgusting' Posted: 23 Dec 2021 08:10 AM PST Less than one week after Chris Noth made headlines regarding his brief return to the anticipated Sex and the City revival, he has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women. Shortly after the HBO Max premiere of And Just Like That, two women came forward in December 2021 with claims that the Equalizer alum had previously assaulted them. One of the alleged victims, who went by the moniker of Zoe in a Hollywood Reporter profile, claimed that the actor "raped her from behind" in 2004 after they met during a high-profile Los Angeles event. Zoe, who was 22 at the time, claimed that the Wisconsin native flirted with her before inviting her to his West Hollywood apartment. There, Zoe claimed that he kissed and assaulted her, even laughing when she asked him to wear a "condom" amid the "painful" experience. "I realized there was blood on my shirt. I got out of there. I went to my friend's apartment [in the same building]," Zoe allegedly recalled to the outlet, noting that she later went to the hospital. "I had stitches. Two police officers came. I wouldn't say who it was." A second woman, Lily, also accused him of misconduct in the THR report after the pair met while she was working at a New York City nightclub in 2015. She claimed that the actor invited her back to his apartment after a night of drinking. "He said marriage is a sham. Monogamy is not real," Lily claimed, revealing that the next thing she knew was that Noth "was having sex with me from the back in a chair. We were in front of a mirror. I was kind of crying as it happened. … I went to the bathroom and put on my skirt. I was feeling awful. Totally violated. All of my dreams with this star I loved for years were gone." One day later, a third alleged victim came forward, telling the Daily Beast that she was sexually assaulted by the Golden Globe nominee while working as a hostess and lounge singer at New York's Da Marino restaurant in 2010 when she was 18. "At first, it felt as though I was the only person in the universe who could hear me saying no," the woman, who is referred to as Ava, recalled to the newspaper, claiming that her limbs hurt the next morning. "He wasn't hearing 'no,' but he heard me when I said 'not here' and convinced him that I would meet him somewhere else." Amid the allegations, the Good Wife alum has continually denied the claims. "The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false," Noth told Us Weekly via a statement at the time. "These stories could've been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It's difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don't know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women." Following the recent headlines, Noth — who has been married to Tara Wilson since 2012 — had been dropped by his talent management firm, A3 Artists Agency. Additionally, Noth's collaboration with Peloton following his SATC character's death has since been scrubbed from the fitness company's social media. "Every single sexual assault accusation must be taken seriously. We were unaware of these allegations when we featured Chris Noth in our response to HBO's reboot," Peloton, who teamed up with Ryan Reynolds for the commercial, told Us via a statement shortly after the news broke. "As we seek to learn more, we have stopped promoting this video and archived related social posts." "He asked why and I told him it was because I couldn’t separate the actor from the man, and the man is a sexual predator. My friend was alarmed at my word choice. And to be honest so was I. … On the few occasions he would show up, he was consistently sexually inappropriate with a fellow female promoter. That same year I was a guest star on Law and Order and it was his first episode returning as a detective after SATC. He was drunk on set.” She further alleged, “In one take he got close to me, sniffed my neck, and whispered, ‘You smell good.’ I didn’t say anything. My friend at the club never said anything. It’s so rare that we do.” Sophia Bush, Helen Hunt, Anna-Sophia Robb and more celebrities have rallied around the New Girl alum in the wake of her social media message. In the snaps, which were first obtained by Daily Mail, the pair donned workout clothes and wore face masks per COVID-19 recommendations. After walking on a sidewalk together, they were later photographed driving away in the model's car. After debuting their romance on Instagram in November 2020, the Euphoria star and Cindy Crawford's daughter broke up amid conflicting schedules, In Touch first reported last month. Following their breakup, the Australia native — who has since been linked to Olivia Jade Giannulli — couldn't help but praise his ex-girlfriend and how she's impacted his view on fame. "She handles herself wonderfully publicly," the Kissing Booth actor told Men's Health in an interview published on Monday, December 20, noting that he has "learned so much" from Gerber about handling the spotlight. "[She taught me] how to deal with it and just kind of be whatever about it, you know?" Elordi continued at the time: "I want to have a life. I want to have the same 80, 85-year — more or less — experience that everyone has. I don't want to miss anything by sitting on some overly sour pile of candy." The former couple were first seen together in September 2020 in New York and California. Since then, the exes’ romance continued to blossom as they got closer to her parents — Crawford, 55, and Rande Gerber — and even packed on the PDA. TMI Alert! Jana Kramer and More Celebs Who Overshared in 2021 Posted: 23 Dec 2021 06:00 AM PST There’s no such thing as TMI for these celebs! Jana Kramer, Nikki Bella and more shared every juicy detail about their personal lives throughout the year. The country singer has never shied away from telling fans about her struggles, but after she split from husband Mike Caussin in April 2021, she became more candid than ever. “It’s still super hard. It’s still, like, I’m gonna have to deal with him for the rest of my life,” Kramer said during a June 2021 interview on the “Unzipped” podcast of where she stood with the ex-NFL player. “I wish we could just be, like, ‘All right, peace out.’ Like, ‘Great knowing you. You do you.’ [But] we have kids that essentially bind us together and there's still so much, like, hate and hurt between us.” The Friday Night Lights alum continued: “I’m trying my best to, like, lead with love and when he doesn’t do it and I’m, like, ‘Well, wait a minute, like, you don’t get to be mean to me. I didn’t want this.’ So it’s very hard for me not to go to that same place, but I know that he deals with his sadness in his way of more anger.” Six months later, the “Beautiful Lies” songstress confessed that she felt wary about getting back into dating, despite having been linked to Graham Bunn, Jay Cutler and another mystery man in the wake of her divorce. “I feel like there’s no way that someone can be honest and that it can be good,” she said on her “Whine Down” podcast in December 2021. “I’m used to just war and not being on steady ground. … For seven years, I was always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Clearly, there’s another shoe to drop and I don’t want to be fooled again.” Bella, for her part, frequently discussed how her relationship with fiancé Artem Chigvintsev changed after becoming parents to son Matteo in August 2020, telling Us Weekly exclusively in March 2021 that things aren’t as “hot and heavy” in the bedroom as they once were. “When you have tired sex with each other, it’s like one’s leaning onto someone too much,” the former pro wrestler said at the time. “And it’s like, ‘OK, wait. … I need something else.’ Like, I need energy. Even for me, I’ll be like, ‘Let’s see. I’ll be on bottom. It’s OK. Let’s just do missionary.’ … When you’re with a dancer and how they work, it’s bomb.” The Dancing With the Stars pro, however, hasn’t been as forthcoming about what happens with Bella at home. “He gets really embarrassed with all that,” the “Bellas Podcast” cohost joked to Us in October 2021. “And when I talked about, like, having hemorrhoids, he’s like, ‘I can’t believe you told people about your hemorrhoids.’ And I’m like, ‘It’s real life. [That’s what] it’s like to push out a baby.'” Brie Bella, Nikki’s twin sister, noted at the time that she hears the same concerns from her husband, Daniel Bryan. “[He] will always just be like, ‘When is it enough info [that] you give to everyone where you feel like it's also OK to be private?’ And I told him, ‘I was put on earth to be as open as possible. So people know it’s OK,'” Brie told Us. “That’s my purpose, to just be fully honest, authentic, raw and real so that other people can listen and be like, ‘Thank goodness I’m not alone.'” Scroll down to relive some of the biggest TMI moments of the year, from Meghan Trainor‘s double toilets to Jamie Otis‘ marriage woes: ![]() The Total Bellas star frequently discusses her relationship with Chigvintsev on her podcast with her sister — but the dancer isn't always happy about it.
