Prince Harry and Charles ‘Are in Communication’ But Have ‘A Lot of Issues’ Posted: 03 Dec 2021 11:08 AM PST ![]() All good? Not quite. Prince Harry and his father, Prince Charles, have not been on the best terms for a while, and although the two are now speaking to each other, their relationship still requires some TLC. "Charles and Harry are in communication," a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. "There [are] still a lot of issues the two of them need to work out and move forward." The insider shares that the Prince of Wales, 73, and the Duke of Sussex, 37, were not "speaking very much" after Harry and his wife Meghan Markle's 2020 royal exit and the couple's CBS tell-all interview, which aired in March. While the father-son duo are on the road to mending what has been broken between them, it will not be an easy process. "There is still a lot of work to do before their relationship is rebuilt," the source adds. Harry and Meghan, 40, upset his family in January 2020 when they announced their plans to "step back" as senior members of the royal family. An insider told Us at the time that Charles was "livid" with his youngest son over the decision. The pair relocated to her native California in March 2020 and kept a relatively low profile as they quarantined with son Archie, now 2, amid the coronavirus pandemic. Buckingham Palace confirmed in February that they would not return as working royals. The following month, Meghan and Harry made shocking allegations about his family in their first TV interview since their exit. For one, he claimed that Charles cut him off financially and "stopped taking my calls" after he and the former actress made their January 2020 announcement, noting that he had "a lot to work through" with the British heir apparent. "I feel really let down because he's been through something similar, he knows what pain feels like … Archie is his grandson," Harry explained. "I will always love him. There's a lot of hurt that's happened. I will continue to make it one of my priorities to heal that relationship." The Invictus Games founder then spoke out against his father's parenting style on more than one occasion in May. "My father used to say to me when I was younger, he used to say to [Prince] William and I, 'Well, it was like that for me, so it's gonna be like that for you.' That doesn't make sense," he said on The Me You Can't See. "Just because you suffered, it doesn't mean that your kids have to suffer. In fact, quite the opposite. If you suffered, do everything you can to make sure that whatever experiences, negative experiences that you had, you can make it right for your kids." Royal expert Nick Bullen told Us later that month that Charles was "hurt" and "disappointed" by his son's comments. Elsewhere in her and Harry's March joint interview, Meghan claimed that there were "concerns and conversations about how dark [Archie's] skin might be when he was born," but she and Harry declined to name the individual who allegedly discussed the topic. Earlier this week, Charles told Us in a statement that a claim in Christopher Andersen's book Brothers and Wives that he speculated about his grandson's skin color was "fiction and not worth further comment." (The author also alleged that the two were not referring to Charles in their tell-all.) Amid the family drama, Harry and Meghan welcomed daughter Lilibet in June. Although the prince returned to the U.K. in July for the unveiling of a Princess Diana statue, his wife and their two kids did not accompany him. Bullen told Us in September that Charles "really wants to meet his granddaughter" and "is incredibly sad about everything that's gone on." |
Tristan Thompson Sued for Child Support Amid Claims He's Expecting 3rd Baby Posted: 03 Dec 2021 11:02 AM PST Tristan Thompson is the target of a paternity suit as personal trainer Maralee Nichols claims she’s pregnant with his third child. Nichols, who has not yet given birth, is suing the 30-year-old Sacramento Kings player for child support. According to court records obtained by Us Weekly, the baby is due in December. The fitness instructor attended doctor’s appointments in April and May, the first of which cost $518 and was covered by Thompson. The NBA player has not paid for the second appointment, per the docket. Thompson filed documents of his own in July, submitting to a courthouse in Houston, where Nichols is based. (She has temporarily been living in California.) Since then, the pair have been locked into a legal back and forth, with the professional athlete requesting to seal records in November. In August, Nichols’ lawyer urged the court to bring in Thompson for a deposition “in the next three to four weeks.” That same month, an alleged text message received by Nichols from the former Boston Celtics player was presented. “You know how I feel. My feelings haven’t changed at all. [I] won’t be involved at all,” the exchange read, per a screenshot submitted in an August filing. “Btw if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money. It’s completely wrong. You are aware that I’m retiring after this season. So in terms of support it will be whatever is required monthly for someone who’s unemployed.” The message continued: “It’s texas so it will be only a couple hundred dollars. So you better off taking this 75k I’m offering cause you won’t get nothing near that with having a kid with a father who’s unemplyed [sic] All you will have is a baby with a father who has zero involvement with the child and a few hundred dollars of child support a month.” After initially offering September dates for a Zoom hearing, Thompson was deposed in October. One month later, an objection from Nichols claimed that the Canada native “refused to answer basic questions relating to jurisdictional issues between California and Texas,” as allegedly advised by his legal team. Separate court docs claimed Thompson denied sending Nichols texts, Snapchats and other forms of communication regarding her pregnancy “despite the fact that his contact information is present in the messages.” Nichols reportedly conceived her future child in March while celebrating Thompson’s birthday, while he was still dating Khloé Kardashian. He confessed to having sex with Nichols in a declaration obtained by the Daily Mail. Thompson shares son Prince, 4, with ex Jordan Craig and welcomed daughter True with Kardashian, 37, in April 2018. Shortly before True’s arrival, Thompson was caught cheating with multiple women. While the duo initially stayed together, they split in February 2019 after he kissed Jordyn Woods. One year later, Us broke the news that Kardashian and Thompson were quarantining together during the COVID-19 pandemic. In August 2020, a source exclusively revealed that the on-off pair were giving their romance another try — and thinking about baby No. 2. “Khloé is hopeful that Tristan has changed for good and will continue to grow and be the great and loyal partner that he has been throughout their time together during the quarantine,” the insider noted at the time. However, the reconciliation was short-lived. Us confirmed in June that the twosome called it quits once again, with a source revealing that “there was no drama” between the former couple. “They remain amicable toward each other and will continue to coparent,” the insider noted at the time. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum has yet to respond to allegations about her ex possibly fathering another child, but on Thursday, December 2, she shared a series of cryptic quotes on social media. “I just don’t have time for negative energy and even when I do, I still don’t,” one excerpt read, while another noted, “You are currently living at least one of the prayers you used to pray.” Earlier this year, Thompson also made headlines when model Kimberly Alexander was ordered to pay him $52,000 in a libel lawsuit he filed in May 2020 after she claimed that he was the father of her 5-year-old son. The payment consisted of $50,000 in general damages and $2,901.95 in costs. According to court documents obtained by Us in June, Thompson agreed to take a DNA test to prove the child was not his after previously sending Alexander a cease and desist letter. |
Ew, David! Dan Levy Gives Update on Possible 'Schitt's Creek' Movie Posted: 03 Dec 2021 11:01 AM PST More to the story? While the Schitt's Creek cast and creators have continued to tease fans about a potential film adaptation since the conclusion of its final season, cocreator Dan Levy has weighed in about its progress. "[There's] no update on a Schitt's Creek movie," Levy, 38, exclusively told Us Weekly while attending Glenn Close and Bring Change to Mind's annual "Revels & Revelations" Gala on Thursday, December 2. While there's nothing presently in the works, the Canada native teased what it would take to get a project on the table. ![]() "A really good idea, and until that happens, we’re leaving it as is," he told Us during the mental health event in New York City. "But the book [Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: The Story of Schitt’s Creek] was good, and the book was something that I spent a really long time on. So until that happens, if that happens, there’s a wonderful book that people could pick up." During the City Winery-held gala — Dan and his father Eugene Levy accepted the Robin Williams Legacy of Laughter Award, presented by Zak and Zelda Williams — the Happiest Season actor couldn't help but gush over his former costars. "The cast of that show is like a second family to me," Levy explained, noting that he talks "to them almost every day." Following the Emmy-winning series six-season run, the cast has been outspoken about returning to the lives of the Rose family for one last hoorah, including the Degrassi: The Next Generation alum's father and costar. "The idea of working with these people again is still something that is kind of at the front of our brains," Eugene, 74, previously noted during a November 2020 interview with Fox 5 New York. "We've never ruled out the possibility that, you know, we could come back in some form, be it a movie or another Christmas thing or who knows? But nothing has been ruled out, believe me. The opportunity to work with everybody again would be fantastic, because it was the best six years of my life, no question." However, at the time, the Serendipity actor previously thought they concluded the comedy series in the right way. "We've said, and Daniel has said too, that we ended the show when we thought the show should have ended. It was the right time to end it," he explained at the time. "All the stories kind of resolved themselves in as natural a way as you could, and there was no point in really extending it." Eugene is hardly the only cast member yearning to return to the lovable yet quirky town of Schitt's Creek. "I mean, I've been sending Dan $5 a day in the mail as a bribe. So far, I have not heard back about a movie officially," Annie Murphy, who plays Alexis Rose, exclusively joked to Us Weekly in May. "But, oh, my God, I would be just over the moon if that ever came to pass because I miss everyone so much every day. Just to see Moira again, I would pay a lot of money to do that." ![]() Dan's sister, Sarah Levy, also weighed in on the chance to return to her role of Twyla in a potential film. "I wouldn't put it past [Dan] for a second. I have all the hope in the world that there will be a movie," the SurrealEstate actress, 35, exclusively told Us in July. "I think we'd all just drop every project we were on just to get a chance to work together again. We just love each other so much and have kind of experienced this just incredible experience over the past six years together, seeing how the show has really taken off and affected so many people around the world. And I think through that, we're all kind of tied together forever in a way, but we would in a heartbeat do it." After six seasons on Pop TV, the Emmy-winning series concluded in April 2020 when Murphy's Alexis moved to New York City to launch a public relations career while her brother David (who wed Noah Reid's Patrick) stayed in town to run their Rose Apothecary store. Then, proud parents Johnny and Moira (Eugene and Catherine O'Hara, respectively) returned to Los Angeles to debut a Rosebud Motel franchise. With reporting by Diana Cooper |
Bonding? Kim K. Subtly Shows She's Getting Close to Pete Davidson's Family Posted: 03 Dec 2021 10:41 AM PST ![]() Part of the family? Kim Kardashian is seemingly getting close to new beau Pete Davidson's loved ones, especially his sister, Casey Davidson. The Saturday Night Live star, 28, took his sister, 24, to see the Brooklyn Nets play the New York Knicks at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Tuesday, November 30. Casey later shared a photo with her brother from the family outing, causing fans — and Kardashian, 41 — to instantly react. "Caption this," Casey wrote alongside a snap of her and Pete chatting courtside. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum "liked" the photo, prompting speculation that the Skims founder is already bonding with the comedian's family. ![]() While Kardashian didn't leave a caption suggestion, plenty of fans mentioned her romance with the King of Staten Island star as possible lines Pete could have been saying to his sister. "Yea now I get a lifetime supply of Skims," one user joked, while another quipped, “What does someone even get Kim Kardashian for Christmas?” A third fan added: “You’re right, Keeping Up With The Davidsons does have a nice ring to it!” Some of Casey's followers poked fun at her dynamic with her big brother, joking that Pete was telling her, “Borrowed your nail polish again … soz," or, "I'm thinking about getting mom a 4th dog for Christmas.” While Casey and Pete were laughing it up at the basketball game, Kardashian reunited with her estranged husband, Kanye West, to honor late designer Virgil Abloh at his final Louis Vuitton runway show on Tuesday. The KKW Beauty founder, who filed for divorce in February after six years of marriage, sat beside the Yeezy designer, 44, and their eldest daughter, North, 8, during the show. Both West and Kardashian previously mourned the loss of their friend, sharing touching tributes via social media. The duo's Miami reunion marked the first time they were spotted together since Kardashian started dating Pete. The reality star and the New York native were first linked in late October after they were seen together at Knott's Berry Farm in California ahead of Halloween. The pair, however, shared their first kiss publicly on October 9 during an SNL sketch when Kardashian was the host. After weeks of speculation — and multiple bicoastal outings — the twosome confirmed their romance while walking hand in hand in Palm Springs, California, in November. The PDA moment came shortly after the couple celebrated the Meet Cute actor's birthday with Kardashian's mom, Kris Jenner. The budding romance has been a welcome change for the makeup mogul. "The past few years of Kim's life have been super intense a lot of the time, so this is a real positive transition for her," an insider exclusively told Us Weekly last month. "She's learning to move past day-to-day stresses and focus on the fun and sexy things." West, however, isn’t pleased to see Kardashian moving on, previously claiming that he has yet to see divorce papers from his estranged wife, with whom he shares Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2, along with North. "SNL making my wife say 'I divorced him' on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off, and I never have seen the papers. We're not even divorced," the "Jesus Walks" rapper alleged during an appearance on Revolt's "Drink Champs" in November. "So how we — because [it's] no joke to me, my kids want their parents to stay together. I want their parents — I want us to be together." |
Kim Kardashian Joked About Catching Wedding Bouquet Amid Pete Davidson Romance Posted: 03 Dec 2021 10:24 AM PST ![]() Next in line? Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson have continued to make headlines after they confirmed their relationship last month — and according to Nicky Hilton, the reality star isn’t ruling out another walk down the aisle. During an interview with Extra on Thursday, December 2, Nicky, 38, revealed that Kardashian, 41, was looking to catch the bouquet at her sister Paris Hilton’s wedding to Carter Reum. “It’s funny, at the wedding, Kim joked, ‘I’m gonna catch that bouquet!” the fashion designer shared about the November wedding ceremony. The Skims founder was photographed enjoying the nuptials with friend Nicole Richie, who sat side by side during the reception. Kardashian also helped Paris, 40, on her big day when she fluffed the bride’s veil. The beauty mogul, who has previously tied the knot three times, making a joke about marriage comes after she recently confirmed her new romance. Kardashian and Pete Davidson originally sparked dating speculation after the California native hosted Saturday Night Live in October. After the duo worked on several skits together, they were later spotted hanging out in New York and California. A source exclusively told Us Weekly last month that Kardashian is having fun with Davidson, 28. “Kim lights up when she's around Pete," the insider shared in November. "Their chemistry is off the charts and getting stronger each passing day. No one can remember seeing her smile and laugh so much around a guy. He just has this ability to hold Kim's total attention and have her in stitches with his hilariously dry sense of humor. He's so down to earth and humble, which she really digs." ![]() After the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum joined the comedian on his 28th birthday, the couple were photographed holding hands in Palm Springs. At the time, a second source noted that the KKW founder’s famous family was supportive of their "unique chemistry" and "strong connection.” "The family is happy for Kim, and they really have taken a liking to Pete," the insider said. "A lot of the Kardashians met him in the past and have hung out with him, so he's not like this new stranger that just entered into their lives. They think he's funny and is fun to be around." Amid Kardashian’s new romance, her estranged husband Kanye West went viral when he claimed that he never received any divorce papers. The exes share North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2. "SNL making my wife say 'I divorced him' on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off, and I never have seen the papers. We're not even divorced," West, 44, said during an appearance on Revolt's "Drink Champs" in November, referring to Kardashian filing for divorce in February after almost seven years of marriage. "So how we — because [it's] no joke to me, my kids want their parents to stay together. I want their parents — I want us to be together." |
Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph: The Way They Were Posted: 03 Dec 2021 10:20 AM PST Another Bachelor Nation love story has come to an end. Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph didn’t have the traditional romance — or even the traditional Bachelor timeline. However, from the moment they met on the season 23 Bachelor premiere, the pair were connected. Although their onscreen journey wasn’t an easy one (the fence jump!), they began a real relationship after the cameras stopped. "It was a lot of changes, for sure, because we went from these more simple, more normal lives and then all of a sudden, we film a show and then you're thrown into craziness where everyone is very hyperaware of everything that goes on in your life and your relationship," the speech pathologist told Us Weekly exclusively in October 2019. "It was a little bit of a struggle at first, I think — like adjusting to everything. But I feel like now we've kind of gotten used to it and learned to balance everything a lot more." The former NFL player also noted that the show actually helped them grow their relationship. "I think you learn to communicate too," he explained. "Just with whether it's tabloids or someone speculating a certain thing or people reading into your body language, you know. You just learn how to communicate with each other and you'll be on the same page with everything going on. … Nobody could ever prepare you for what life is like after that. Like, you can have people tell you all you want, like, 'Oh, wait for this, wait for this.' But until you're in it, you don't really get the full magnitude of it.” Colton later revealed that while he got a great outcome, he felt a bit “burnt” by the shows’ producers. "They always asked to rank the girls. And very early on, Hannah [Godwin] was up there. And she got left off of a date," he said in August 2019. "I sort of recall remember feeling a little burnt when they did that. I was like, 'So let me get this straight. Hannah's No. 1 on my list right now, and she's not getting a date this week?'" He then decided to change things: "From there on out, I was like, 'All right, if you're going to do that to my top girls, I'm not really going to tell you who my top girls are, because I don't want you messing with them.’ So in a weird way, I tried to defend myself and defend the girls by not being truthful to them who my top was.” However, in May 2020, the pair announced that they had split. Scroll through the gallery below for a full timeline of Colton and Cassie’s relationship: ![]() During the premiere, Colton and Cassie met in front of the mansion and she brought a box of butterflies.“I have so many butterflies. "I love Colton very much and have an enormous amount of respect for him. We have both learned and grown so much these past couple years, and will always have each other's back. Always." AFF-USA/Shutterstock ![]() The duo’s split turned messy after Colton shaded Cassie’s decision to appear on The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons Ever! in July 2020. While she didn’t give many details of their breakup during her interview with Chris Harrison, the football player took to Instagram to reiterate that they agreed to handle their breakup privately. As a result, Cassie fired back and accused Colton of planning to profit off their split with a new chapter in his book, The First Time. “You informed me you intend to monetize our breakup by writing a new chapter to discuss your experience with COVID (where you stayed in my family’s house during your recovery and about our breakup),” he wrote. “You have also refused to give me any sort of approval on the chapter you will be writing, which will heavily feature me … This seems a bit unfair to me. Colton, you can do what you want, but please do not have a double standard. … It seems you are subtly engaging in a tactic that peppers in aggressive comments such as ‘that obviously changed this week’ in order to make me look like the bad one.” Colton’s rep told Us at the time that Cassie’s accusations were “simply not true.” CraSH/imageSPACE/Shutterstock; Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() While Colton claimed he and Cassie were on OK terms during an appearance on Reality Steve’s podcast in August 2020, she unfollowed him on Instagram later that month. Stewart Cook/Shutterstock; Jason Merritt/Radarpics/Shutterstock ![]() News broke in September 2020 that Cassie filed a restraining order against Colton, claiming he had planted a tracking device in her car, harassed her via text message and showed up uninvited to her apartment and her parents’ house after their breakup. I wish that I had been courageous enough to fix myself before I broke anybody else." John Salangsang/Shutterstock ![]() Underwood apologized once again for the legal situation with Randolph during his Netflix series, Coming Out Colton, which debuted on December 3. He shared with Us ahead of the premiere that he may not have come out if the restraining order hadn't happened. “I think that was sort of a huge wake-up call. I’m sad that it even got to that point to where that had to be my wake-up call and me affecting other people in my life was sort of the moment that I realized I had to come out,” he said. “Obviously, I wish I would have had the courage to come out without having to be pushed.” Although Randolph was asked to be part of the series, she declined. Due to legal restraints, he was unable to give her a heads up before the show dropped. Netflix |
Everything Colton Underwood Has Said About His Struggle With His Sexuality Posted: 03 Dec 2021 10:13 AM PST In the words of Colton Underwood, he's been on a "journey" when it comes to his sexuality. Fans met Underwood on season 14 of The Bachelorette when he competed for Becca Kufrin's heart. While he made it to the final four, the former NFL player was sent packing after the hometown dates. Underwood subsequently appeared on Bachelor in Paradise during the summer of 2018, briefly rekindling his fling with Kufrin's pal Tia Booth, whom he met before he appeared on the publicist's season. During the fall of 2018, ABC named Underwood the season 23 Bachelor. His season debuted in January 2019 and had a rocky finish, with front-runner Cassie Randolph quitting the competition ahead of the finale. The athlete ultimately broke up with his other finalists and convinced Randolph to stay and give their romance a shot. After more than one year together, the twosome confirmed in May 2020 that they went their separate ways. After battling coronavirus and facing allegations of stalking and harassment from Randolph (which he denied), Underwood came out as gay in April 2021. "I've ran from myself for a long time. I've hated myself for a long time. … I'm gay," he told Robin Roberts on Good Morning America. "And I came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing it. And the next step in all of this was sort of letting people know." Following the interview, the 30 women who appeared on Underwood's season began to speak out. "Do I regret being the Bachelor? Do I regret handling it the way that I did? I do think I could have handled it better, I'll say that," he told Roberts at the time. "I just wish I wouldn't have dragged people into my own mess of figuring out who I was. I genuinely mean that, but I also, at the same time, I can sit here and say I'm sorry to all of those women, I can also say thank you. Without them and without the Bachelor franchise, I don't know if this would have ever came out." When it came to Randolph, specifically, Underwood offered an apology. (Us Weekly confirmed in September 2020 that the Huntington Beach native was granted a restraining order against her ex, which was dropped that November.) "I loved everything about her and it’s hard for me to articulate exactly what my emotions were in going through that relationship with her was because I obviously had an internal fight going on," he said. "I would just say that I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart. I’m sorry for any pain and emotional stress I caused. I wish that it wouldn’t have happened the way that it did. I wish that I had been courageous enough to fix myself before I broke anybody else." Scroll through for Underwood's candid quotes about his sexuality over the years: ![]() Underwood revealed in his 2020 memoir, The First Time: Finding Myself and Looking for Love on Reality TV, that he wondered about his sexuality after his second high school relationship ended. "I didn't know who I was," he wrote. "And I come from an athletic family, so it was always, ‘Move on, you're good.' So that threw me off. In high school, when I was struggling with my sexuality, I'm not going to talk to my parents about it. So I internalized it." Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() Underwood took to the internet after rumors spread around school that he was gay. “[My dad] pulled up the history of recent Google searches, which included gay porn sites and a variety of questions: Am I gay? How do you know if you’re gay? Why don’t I like having sex with my girlfriend?” Underwood wrote in his book. “At first, I denied responsibility. Then I owned up to having been curious. He asked if I wanted to talk about it. I said no, explaining that I’d figured things out on my own. I begged him not to tell Mom. I’m sure he did. But neither of them ever spoke about it with me.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() “Sometimes I wonder if my life would have been much easier if I had been gay,” Underwood, who was a virgin during his stint in Bachelor Nation, wrote in the book. “Maybe it would’ve helped me to know myself better and sooner. Maybe I wouldn’t have stayed a virgin. Maybe I wouldn’t have asked 'Who am I?' as often as I did and suffered as much angst because I didn’t have an answer. Identity was such a big question mark with me. Yes, I was a football player. But what else was I? Was there anything more?” John Salangsang/Shutterstock ![]() “The hardest part was definitely opening up and sort of talking about early on in grade school and even in high school, getting called gay,” he said exclusively on Us’ “Here For the Right Reasons” podcast in March 2020. “The reason I say that is because it came back up when I was the Bachelor. I think it was very easy for fans and very easy for people to just — [when] they don’t understand something or if they don’t agree with somebody, they have to, in their mind, get from point A to point B. So point B is, ‘Oh, he’s gay. That’s why he’s a virgin. He’s just hiding it from us.'” MediaPunch/Shutterstock ![]() Even before he came out, Underwood was candid about how much he struggled with the label of the “virgin Bachelor.” During his chat with Roberts, he reflected on being asked about his sex life during his time on the show. “I could never give anybody a good enough answer about why I was a virgin. The truth is I was ‘the virgin Bachelor’ because I was gay, and I didn’t know how to handle that,” he said. “I put myself in really bad situations on purpose. I put myself in these situations so I could try to force myself to be straight.” Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() Underwood told Roberts in April 2021 that he knew he was “different” when he was six years old. “I couldn’t process it and I couldn’t put my finger on what it was until high school, my freshman year when I knew I was gay,” he continued. “By that time, I had already grown up in the Catholic Church, I had gone to Catholic grade school. I had learned in the Bible that [being] gay is a sin.” MediaPunch/Shutterstock ![]() “I used to wake up in the morning and pray for Him to take the gay away. I used to pray for Him to change me and I can now wake up and pray to God,” Underwood told Roberts in April 2021. “I can actually have faith and I can go into church and be present; not have it be conditional on this topic of, ‘Take this off my plate and I’ll still worship you and I’ll still be there.’ It’s more, I’m closer to him. And that’s helped.” MediaPunch/Shutterstock ![]() “Overall, the reason why [I came out] now is because I got to a place where … I would’ve rather died than say I’m gay,” Underwood said on GMA. “There was a moment in L.A. that I woke up, and I didn’t think I was going to wake up. I didn’t have the intentions of waking up. I think that for me was my wakeup call.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() "I still have a lot to work through. I'll go on the record and say I still haven't had an emotional connection with a man,” the reality TV personality said in April 2021. "I've never allowed myself to. And it's never been sort of in my cards to let myself get there. I want to more than anything. … I'm looking for someone who can push me and challenge me in all the great ways." Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock ![]() Underwood admitted he may not have come out had Randolph not filed a restraining order against him. "I think that was sort of a huge wake-up call. I’m sad that it even got to that point to where that had to be my wake-up call and me affecting other people in my life was sort of the moment that I realized I had to come out,” he told Us ahead of his Netflix series, Coming Out Colton. “Obviously, I wish I would have had the courage to come out without having to be pushed." Netflix ![]() During Coming Out Colton, the reality star said that his connection with Cassie was so strong that "I felt like I found somebody who could change me." When she left, he thought, "If I can’t get there with you then I definitely can’t with any other woman." Shutterstock (2) ![]() "The reason I’m coming out is because I’m ashamed and I’m sort of mortified of what got me to this position in the first place. I knew that I couldn’t hide it anymore because I didn’t want to affect or harm anybody else in my life," he added about Randolph during the Netflix show. "I knew that if I let her go, I would have to deal with me and I didn’t want to and I wasn’t ready for it." Danny Moloshok/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Ahead of Coming Out Colton, the athlete told Us that he was hesitant to do another reality show. “There was a lot of thought that went into it, but I really realized my story and who I was. I was always told who I was my entire life — whether it was [during] football or in the church, then obviously on The Bachelor,” he explained to Us. “I felt like it was important for me to come to terms. … and really own who I am and say, ‘Hey, this is actually who I am.’ And for the first time, I’m going to let people truly see that.” Netflix |

What? Stars You Didn’t Know Were Related to Each Other Posted: 03 Dec 2021 09:46 AM PST All in the family! While many famous faces have made a name for themselves on their own, some have surprising familial connections to one another. Beanie Feldstein, who rose to fame after starring in 2019's Booksmart, is the younger sister of Superbad's Jonah Hill and has frequently gushed over their sibling bond. "The greatest person in the world turned 35 and all he got was this incredible sweatshirt," the How to Build a Girl actress wrote via Instagram in August 2018, alongside a snap of the Moneyball star wearing a "Beanie's Brother" sweatshirt. Years later, the Broadway performer couldn't help but rave about her older brother, who even got a tattoo of her name amid her Great White Way debut in Hello, Dolly. "Oh, my God, I mean, he's my best friend in the world, so I'm always excited for him," the American Crime Story: Impeachment star told Us Weekly and other reporters in January 2020. The acting siblings are hardly the only celebrities with surprising connections. Legendary Today meteorologist Al Roker shares common ancestors with Lenny Kravitz, which they discussed during a September 2011 appearance on the morning show. "We both have Roker," the Grammy winner explained at the time. "My mother was Roxie Roker, my grandfather Albert Roker is from the Bahamas. Has to be [related]." Years later, Kravitz greeted his distant relative with a "What's up, cousin?" when he appeared on the NBC talk show in October 2020. The weatherman isn't the "Fly Away" crooner's only famous relative. Kravitz was previously married to actress Lisa Bonet, with whom he shares daughter Zoë Kravitz. While the exes divorced in 1993, they have remained tight coparents. Lenny, for his part, even developed a close bond with the Cosby Show alum’s second husband, Jason Momoa. "People can't believe how tight Jason and I are, or how tight I still am with Zoë's mom, how we all relate," Lenny told Men's Health in November 2020. "We just do it because that's what you do. You let love rule, right? I mean, obviously, after a breakup, it's work — it takes some work and time, healing and reflection. As far as Jason and I? Literally, the moment we met, we were like, 'Oh, yeah. I love this dude.'" Nearly one year later, the musician even called the Aquaman star his "brother" in a birthday tribute. "Happy Birthday, Jason. I'm proud to call you my brother. One love. One family," he tweeted in August 2021. The Mary Poppins Returns actress, for her part, wed Krasinski two years earlier in July 2010. Dave Allocca/Starpix/Shutterstock ![]() The Evil actor and the How to Get Away With Murder star are second cousins and were born in the same town, he revealed on The Talk in September 2019. However, they didn't meet until April 2019. “Honestly, we had never met but our families have family reunions, and they talk about us and stuff. They are very proud of us! We’re just very busy," he said at the time. "In L.A., you could be right next to someone, in the same neighborhood, you’re never home. You’re filming somewhere, they’re busy, life happens. And we just never got caught up.... I figured we would just work it out, and we connected, and we just made it happen. Took us about a week. We were like, 'Let’s get some coffee and talk,' and I met her mom. Good times.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() The My Cousin Vinny star and the Hannibal actress didn’t even know they were related, only discovering that they were genetic cousins after Tomei appeared on the PBS series Finding Your Roots. According to the Oscar winner’s results, she shares an “identical stretch of DNA along her X-chromosome” with Moore. “I KNEW WE WERE ALIKE! @marisatomei is my COUSIN!!” the Big Lebowski star wrote on Instagram in January 2019. “OMG I’m so excited, thank you @henrylouisgates for letting us know we have identical segments of DNA.” Theo Wargo/Getty Images for AHA; Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for Louis Vuitton ![]() The Curb Your Enthusiasm star revealed the family connection after he appeared on PBS' Find Your Roots. Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline's Relationship Timeline Posted: 03 Dec 2021 09:30 AM PST Sparks flying on the set of Outer Banks. Shortly after the Netflix drama started streaming in April 2020, fans began rooting for Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline, who play John B. and Sarah Cameron, respectively, on and offscreen. “I think there is such thing as a love that just absolutely takes over and it flips your world upside down," Cline told Seventeen magazine in May 2020 about John B. and Sarah's love story. "I remember when I was a teenager, I was into young adult books and there was always a pinnacle love story of star-crossed lovers. So to be able to be a part of creating that for this next generation was really a dream come true as a storyteller." She added that the chemistry between her and Stokes came naturally. "Chase, [our creator] Jonas [Pate] and I all sat down from the get-go and spoke about the relationship. We wanted to make sure it was real and it had depth to it," Cline explained. "There were things that Chase and I specifically added to the script that felt personal. You have to sell it. It’s got to be compelling. Thankfully the cast all clicked and we had such great chemistry, so we all had this friendship from the very beginning. So building on that and then projecting it on the screen felt very, very real." Stokes, for his part, told Nylon magazine that he and Cline "wanted to do justice to shows of the past and create a really authentic love experience," citing Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, The O.C. and 90210 as examples. "You watch these shows and you genuinely think these people are in love with each other," he said in May 2020. "We did a lot of research, did a deep dive into those shows, and made sure we followed the structure of how those worked. We decided to strip away the layers of the physicality of it and focus more on the intellectual connection between the two of them. John B. and Sarah obviously don't have the same upbringing. They fall in love not because of what their worlds bring, it's about what their emotional connection is. We just really wanted to make sure that Maddie and I became good enough friends to where we knew each other and find little ticks and nuances that would make each other laugh, and make sure we translated that into the performance." After months of fan speculation, the duo confirmed in June 2020 that they are dating. Scroll through their cutest moments and quotes about each other: ![]() “We have such great writers, and they're very, very receptive to our ideas. I remember there was a point when one asked me, ‘Do you think you, as Sarah Cameron, would choose your family or John B.?’ I remember thinking on it and telling her, ‘I wholeheartedly believe Sarah is 100 percent absolutely head over heels for John B., and I think she absolutely would get on that boat with him,’” Cline told Glamour about the season 1 finale in April 2020. “There's one part in the show when John B. tells Sarah, ‘You're all I have.’ I told the writer that at that point John B. is also all Sarah has. Her world just crumbled around her, so it's a no-brainer that she would have gotten on that boat with him and risked everything.” Courtesy of Netflix ![]() Based on the blooper reel alone, it’s clear the cast of Outer Banks — and Cline and Stokes — had a blast filming the show. Stokes and Rudy Pankow (JJ) also lived together while filming in Charleston. “On the weekends people would come over, and we would blast music and play games and shoot the s—t,” Stokes told Refinery29. “We just liked being close and we wanted to spend every second of our time together because we were just so thankful for the opportunity at hand. Nicole Kidman: I 'Wouldn't Be Here Without' My 'Rock' Keith Urban Posted: 03 Dec 2021 09:23 AM PST Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are both natives of the land down under, but the couple met and fell in love on the other side of the world. The Big Little Lies star and Urban first crossed paths at the G’Day USA Gala — an event honoring Australians in Los Angeles — in 2005. Kidman was immediately smitten with the country singer, but Urban took a little longer to come around. “I remember thinking, I had such a crush on him, and he wasn’t interested in me,” Kidman told Ellen DeGeneres in 2017. “It’s true! He didn’t call me for four months.” However, the “God Whispered Your Name” singer didn’t immediately contact the actress because he wasn’t in the right mindset for a relationship at the time. “Somebody had given me her number and I had it in my pocket for a while. I kept looking at it thinking, ‘If I call this number, she’s going to answer. I don’t know what [to] say,'” Urban recalled on the Australian talk show Interview in 2018. “I wasn't in a very healthy place in my life.” He added, “I’d never have thought she'd see anything in a guy like me. But, at some point, I plucked up the courage to call those numbers and she answered, and we started talking and we talked and talked and talked and talked and it was effortless.” The couple later tied the knot in June 2006 in a romantic ceremony in Manly, Australia. Kidman and Urban’s wedded bliss was short-lived as the “Wasted Time” crooner entered rehab in October 2006 after the Bombshell star staged an intervention. “I caused the implosion of my fresh marriage,” Urban told Rolling Stone in 2016. "It survived, but it's a miracle it did. I was spiritually awoken with her. I use the expression 'I was born into her,' and that's how I feel. And for the first time in my life, I could shake off the shackles of addiction." Kidman gave birth to their first child, daughter Sunday Rose, in July 2008. Urban and the Moulin Rouge star welcomed their second daughter, Faith Margaret, via surrogate in December 2011. The Oscar winner is also the mother of daughter Isabella and son Conner, whom she adopted with her ex-husband Tom Cruise. The Lion star told Harper’s Bazaar in 2018 that her marriage has been successful because the couple always make time for each other. “Obviously I work hard, but when I'm off, I'm off," she explained. "Keith and I are very good at immediately clicking off because we have a really good life in Nashville that's very simple, quiet and nourishing because we've made it like that." Javier Bardem Gushes Over Penelope Cruz: 'I'm Very Proud of Her' Posted: 03 Dec 2021 09:21 AM PST A love that was years in the making! Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem knew each other for more than a decade before their relationship became romantic, and since then, they have managed to keep their personal lives relatively private. The couple met while filming the 1992 film Jamón, Jamón. They reunited for 2008's Vicky Cristina Barcelona and sparks flew. Cruz and Bardem began dating in 2007. They secretly tied the knot in July 2010 and went on to welcome two children: son Leo in January 2011 and daughter Luna in July 2013. The actress reflected on the start of her relationship with the Eat Pray Love star in Marie Claire's February 2019 issue. "You know it's the beginning of something, but you don't know what it's the beginning of," she explained at the time. Cruz noted that she did not rush into settling down, although it was always one of her goals. "My life is … a very different life. But it's the life that I always wanted since I was a little girl," she said. "When I was 4 or 5, I was already performing, and the characters in my games were always mothers. I really wanted to be a mother, for as long as I can remember. But I did it when I felt the time was right — the right time, the right person." The American Crime Story alum and Bardem have continued to act together through the years as their dynamic evolved both on screen and off. "Life has changed. We have grown," he told Vulture in February 2019. "Everything is different once you're a family. That is the priority, as it should be. We're no exception from that. We work as hard as we can, but we recognize how hard we can work depends on each other's needs. It's important not to be confused by fiction. Fiction is fiction, reality is its own thing." The Skyfall actor acknowledged how his approach to starring alongside Cruz changed over time. "When you're younger — because we've worked together many times over the years, we met when I was 21 and she was 16 — you tend to confuse one for the other, or mix them," he elaborated. "Now, I'm going to be 50 in a few weeks, and I don't do this anymore. She's the same way. You must always know when you're working on a level of recreation, outside of real life." He concluded: "Penélope and I, we have to protect the 'us.'" What's going on on your side?'" he told ET on December 2. "But at the same time, we know how to take all of this. ... We know that we have to take it with distance. Because otherwise, it's too crazy." Danny Moloshok/Invision/AP/Shutterstock |
Chase Stokes: Ex Madelyn Cline Is 'One of My Favorite People on the Planet' Posted: 03 Dec 2021 09:18 AM PST ![]() Friendly exes! Chase Stokes insisted he’s still close with ex-girlfriend Madelyn Cline one month after their split broke Outer Banks fans’ hearts. “She’s one of my favorite people on planet Earth,” Stokes, 29, told Us Weekly exclusively at Glenn Close and Bring Change to Mind’s ninth annual Revels & Revelations Gala on Thursday, December 2, at City Winery in New York, advocating for teen mental health awareness. “You know, it’s super awesome to work with somebody that you care about that much, and yeah, I’ll leave it at that.” When asked about his official relationship status, the actor played coy, teasing that he had “no comment.” Along with Cline, 23, the Maryland native has strong bonds with all of his Netflix costars, including Madison Bailey, who also attended Thursday’s event. The North Carolina native, 22, is “like a sister,” Stokes gushed. “We still talk every single day, collectively, as a group and, you know, you just kind of dream for opportunities like that,” he added. “I mean, Outer Banks is a dream situation and to continue to tell this story as we have been has been … the biggest blessing in disguise I could have ever asked for.” Stokes and Cline, who play lovebirds John B. and Sarah on the fan-favorite series, met while filming the first season in 2019. However, they didn’t immediately pursue a romance off screen. They confirmed their relationship in June 2020, two months after Us confirmed that they were quarantined together amid the coronavirus pandemic. After more than one year of dating, the duo sparked split speculation in September when the Knives Out 2 actress was spotted with Ross Butler in Milan and Paris. However, Butler, 31, told TMZ that Cline was “just a friend.” Rumors about the pair’s status continued to swirl when they didn’t appear to celebrate Halloween together. Us confirmed in November that they had called it quits. “They’ve been trying to work it out for quite some time but decided going their separate ways was best,” an insider exclusively revealed at the time. “They both have busy schedules, which made it hard for them to spend a lot of time together. They have no bad feelings toward each other and remain friends.” Fans later began to wonder whether the costars were back on when they were seemingly seen together over Thanksgiving weekend. Season 2 of Outer Banks dropped in July, and while no official announcement has been made regarding the show’s renewal, viewers are already eager to see what’s in store for the Pogues next — and so are the cast members. “Every time we get a script it’s just kind of blowing our seats off, so I’m just excited to get my hands on it [and] hopefully Netflix gives us the green light,” the Beach House actor explained, adding that the series is still “in limbo” when it comes to season 3. “We’re still patiently waiting, just sitting back trying to figure out when it’s going to happen or if they’re going to give us the call. … But fingers crossed.” Stokes received the Champion of Change Award on Thursday for his advocacy and support of BC2M high school students. “This is not for me — this is to 15-year-old Chase who didn’t know his place in society and was not sure of who he was and to every 15-year-old right now, or every teenager who’s coming to the Bring Change to Mind clubs and is finding themselves and finding comfortability and accepting no normal,” he said on stage. “So here’s to you.” With reporting by Diana Cooper |
Joshua Bassett: Olivia Rodrigo ‘Hasn’t Spoken to Me’ Since 'Drivers License' Posted: 03 Dec 2021 09:13 AM PST Disney drama! Us Weekly is breaking down Olivia Rodrigo's alleged feud with High School Musical: The Musical — The Series costar Joshua Bassett and Sabrina Carpenter, amid their music faceoff. The Bizaardvark alum, 17, made headlines in January 2021 after releasing her debut single, "Driver's License." The hit song resonated with Rodrigo's fans, including Taylor Swift, but it also caused some to think that it was about the rumored drama between her, Bassett, 20, and Carpenter, 21. Eagle-eyed fans pointed out that Rodrigo changed the lyrics from her 2020 teaser track from "brunette" to "blonde," seemingly referencing the Girl Meets World alum in one verse. "And you're probably with that blonde girl / Who always made me doubt / She's so much older than me / She's everything I'm insecure about," the Grace Stirs Up Success star sings, hinting at Carpenter's hair color and the fact that she is three years older than her. Rodrigo's track came six months after Bassett released the song, "Anyone Else," in July 2020, which appeared to be about her. "How am I supposed to think about anything else? / How am I to go on keeping this to myself? / I am done pretending I want anyone else / Anyone else, anyone else," Bassett sings. He later confirmed that the track was written about falling for a friend who was unavailable. In her song, Rodrigo, sings, "I just can't imagine how you could be so OK now that I'm gone / Guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me." Although the costars have never addressed whether they were ever romantically involved, fans believe that Rodrigo and Bassett were an item in 2020. The Stuck in the Middle alum, however, seemed to move on with Carpenter in June 2020, after the pair were spotted at a protest together in L.A. Rodrigo has yet to identify who inspired her new track, but both Bassett and Carpenter have since dropped songs of their own, hinting that they are in fact the source of inspiration for "Driver's License." Bassett's January 2021 release, titled, "Lie, Lie, Lie," came out on January 14, one week after Rodrigo's song hit the airwaves. "I wrote 'Lie, Lie, Lie' after I found out a friend had been lying about me behind my back for a long time," the Oceanside, California, native wrote via his Instagram Stories at the time. "It always sucks to hear that someone you thought you could trust would throw you under the bus when it benefits them." He added: "It happens to all of us, and I think all you can do is seek out people that build you up rather than tear you down." The following week, the Clouds actress shared what appeared to be her side of the story, in the January 22 release of "Skin." "Maybe we could've been friends / If I met you in another life," Carpenter sings at one point in the track. She later seemingly referenced Rodrigo's title, with the lyric, "Don't drive yourself insane.” Scroll down to see everything that has unfolded between the Disney Channel stars amid their alleged feud. ![]() Fans claimed that the costars dated in 2020, but neither Rodrigo nor Bassett have confirmed whether they were more than friends. He later spoke about the inspiration behind the song, telling Broadway World that he wrote it after realizing “that I was hopelessly falling in love with a close friend … who was in a relationship with someone else.” ![]() After the Bizaardvark alum released her song “Driver’s License” in January 2021, fans speculated that it was about her rumored feud with Bassett and his new flame, Carpenter. “And you’re probably with that blonde girl / Who always made me doubt / She’s so much older than me / She’s everything I’m insecure about,” she sings in one verse. Eagle-eyed fans pointed out that in her teaser of the single, released via Instagram in 2020, the lyrics were about a “brunette,” but was changed on the final version to “blonde,” seemingly hinting at Carpenter. Rodrigo also sang, “Guess you didn’t mean what you wrote in that song about me,” which some listeners think was referring to Bassett’s “Anyone Else” track. ![]() “I totally understand people’s curiosity with the specifics of who the song’s about and what it’s about, but to me, that’s really the least important part of the song,” Rodrigo told Billboard in January 2021 about who inspired her hit single. “It’s resonating with people because of how emotional it is, and I think everything else is not important.” Walt Disney Pictures/Kobal/Shutterstock ![]() “I know what you say about me / I hope that it makes you happy / You can’t seem to get me off your mind (Get me off your mind),” Bassett sings in his January 2021 track, “Lie, Lie, Lie,” seemingly reacting to Rodrigo’s song. “Oh, I know you’re lying through your teeth / You told them the lies that you told me / I’ve had enough of it this time (Had enough this time).” The musician also released a corresponding music video on January 14, showing him driving alone in a car, in what appears to be a nod to his costar’s song. Shutterstock ![]() The Girl Meets World alum released her own song, “Skin,” in January 2021, seemingly about the alleged feud between her and Rodrigo over Bassett. “I’m not asking you to let it go / You been tellin’ your side / So I’ll be tellin’ mine,” Carpenter sings, noting in the chorus, “You can try / To get under my, under my, under my skin / While he’s on mine / Yeah, all on my, all on my, all on my skin / I wish you knew that еven you / Can’t get under my skin if I don’t let you in.” In another line, the Adventures in Babysitting star sings that “maybe ‘blonde’ was the only rhyme,” allegedly pointing to being called a “blonde girl” in Rodrigo’s track. ![]() “Been stuck in my head since I heard it,” Bassett wrote on his Instagram Story in January 2021, praising Carpenter’s new song. “Congratulations @sabrinacarpenter on ‘Skin,’ the new label, & all that’s to come.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() Hours after the Horns actress dropped “Skin,” Rodrigo posted a video of herself on her Instagram Story singing Taylor Swift’s “…Ready for It?” while in her car. The Disney star sang the verse, “I see nothing better I keep him forever / Like a vendetta-ta / I-I-I see how this is gonna go / Touch me and you'll never be alone / I-Island breeze and lights down low / No one has to know,” which seemed to hint at the back and forth drama between the three stars. Courtesy Olivia Rodrigo/Instagram ![]() Carpenter shut down rumors that she "wrote a diss track" about Rodrigo in a January 2021 Instagram post about the release of "Skin." She also called "Drivers License" a "magnificent" song. "['Skin'] isn’t calling out one single person,” she insisted. “Some lines address a specific situation, while other lines address plenty of other experiences I’ve had this past year.. it also shows that many things have actually gotten under my skin.. and I’m still learning to not give other people so much power over my feelings." Shutterstock (2) ![]() Bassett released “Only a Matter of Time” on January 28, which he revealed was written in the summer of 2020, around the same time that he first started seeing Carpenter after his alleged fallout with Rodrigo. In the song, he talks about drama and a back-and-forth relationship, seemingly hinting at his own love triangle. “It’s only a matter of time / An eye for an eye / You’ll go blind / And when did you stop being kind? / You twisted your words like a knife,” he sings in the chorus. “I’m sure that you’re hurting inside / Why would you make your pain mine? / Making me pay me for your crimes.” YouTube ![]() "It's such a struggle not to be able to control the narrative and know that whether you say something or whether you don't say something, people are gonna be mad at you either way," Carpenter told Radio.com in a February 2021 interview, seemingly denying that the "blonde" lyric in "Skin" is a reference to Rodrigo's chart-topping single. "It's really just one of those things where you have to kind of to do for yourself at the end of the day and do it in the hopes that someone can find inspiration in the message. ... At the end of the day, the more I dance around the subject, the less people kind of understand where I'm coming from. Not that the goal is to get them to understand, because I don't think at the end of the day you're ever going to accomplish that." Though her song was the latest to ignite feud rumors, Carpenter thinks its message is one that "a lot of people have probably felt" they can relate to. "There's very obviously gravity in the words that we put out," she said. "people feel the need to always insert their opinions. Sometimes it's easier to shut your mouth than other times ... And this time I wrote a song and I'm very proud of it, and I'm glad that people are receiving it well." RMV/Shutterstock ![]() In February 2021, Carpenter teased a collaboration with Bassett called “We Both Know” during a Radio.com interview. “I can’t say too much. It’s on his project, so I’m like, I don't want to say too much that I can't say, but it’s a collaboration very dear to my heart that I’m excited about,” she explained. “We did it a while ago now. I guess you'll have to see!” Bassett also opened up about the project while speaking to Febre Teen the month before. At the time, he revealed that he reached out to Carpenter via Instagram after writing the track. “I sent her a quick message and was like, ‘Hey, I think you’re really awesome and I have this song I think you would sound great on, let me know what you think,’ and she responded like 10 minutes later, gave me her number, and I sent her the song,” he recalled. “Fortunately, she liked it, so we got together in the studio and it was just a blast to make. I’m really happy with how it all turned out.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() Nothing to see here! Bassett revealed in February 2021 that he cut a duet with Carpenter off his upcoming EP. “I didn’t want my EP to be overshadowed by some other narrative that people were trying to make,” he told Billboard magazine. “I really want the focus to be on the art instead of some of the talk and the chatter. You shouldn’t live to please everybody, but at the same time, there are ways to be sensitive to situations where maybe [the duet] has a better chance at a different time.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() Rodrigo revealed in a March 2021 interview with Radio.com that she doesn’t know Carpenter “at all” after months of drama between the pair. “I think we’ve met once or twice in passing, but I’ve never had a conversation with her,” she explained. “I don’t think I could write a song that was meaningful or emotional about somebody that I don’t know.” Mark Von Holden/Invision/AP/Shutterstock; Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Three months after “Drivers License,” Rodrigo dropped her second single, “Deja Vu,” and all signs pointed to Bassett and Carpenter. As she sang about watching an ex move on, Rodrigo seemingly referenced Bassett’s jacket (again), teaching him about Billy Joel (he covered “Vienna” in 2019) and singing duets together. The most-telling lyric pointed to her ex dating someone else in the entertainment business. “Do you call her, almost say my name? / ‘Cause let's be honest, we kinda do sound the same,” Rodrigo sings. “Another actress, I hate to think that I was just your type.” Shutterstock ![]() Weeks after her second single dropped, Bassett sent his costar love via Instagram Stories. “SUUUUUUPER late on this but!” he wrote in April 2021. “I love this song so much @oliviarodrigo!!! The world better watch out for the album!!!!!” Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() Rodrigo addressed the increased interest in her love life in her May 2021 Elle cover story. “It’s truly any songwriter’s dream,” she said in the profile, which was released online in April 2021. “There’s something so powerful in being vulnerable and open, like, 'This is my life, and I’m f—king sad' or 'I’m insecure.' That’s what makes songwriting so special." ![]() Ahead of the season 2 premiere of HSMTMTS, Disney released a new song from the show titled "Even When/The Best Part," which is a duet between Bassett and Rodrigo. "I played guitar when we filmed it, and sang along to Olivia’s vocals in my ear while she shot her side separately!" Bassett told Billboard of the track in April 2021. "I’m stoked to see how it all came together and really think people are gonna love it!" Walt Disney Pictures/Kobal/Shutterstock ![]() During a June 2021 interview with GQ, Bassett explained that "the hardest thing" about the rumored love triangle is not talking about. "The reality is it’s kind of like a lost cause trying to talk about any of that stuff, and I refuse to feed into any of the bulls--t, so I just don’t," he said. "[Everyone] is asking me about Sabrina and Olivia. Why don't we focus on these women for who they are? Let's focus on the art that they're making and how great they are instead of their relationship to a boy." Mark Von Holden/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Carpenter reflected on the speculation surrounding “Skin” in a September 2021 interview with Teen Vogue. “I felt like in that moment, the most honest thing would be to put it out when it was accurately reflecting what was going on in my life,” she explained. “Because that’s literally all I ever do is write about my life and my situations, not just my life, but the way I see the world through situations I’m experiencing, people I’m experiencing. Then it’s kind of on everyone else and what they choose to make it about. You know what I mean?” She pointed to Swift as an inspiration, though she noted that she does not want her music to fuel rumors about its subjects. “That’s what I hope to do with my songs, is to be able to not have people care so much about who or why or what happened in my life — that’s a secret I’ll never tell,” she teased. “They can conspire all they want, but they’re wasting a lot of time because it doesn’t matter.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock; Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock ![]() Bassett and Carpenter were photographed together at Harry Styles' concert in New York City in October 2021. Inside Amy Duggar's Estranged Relationship With Her Family and Cousins Posted: 03 Dec 2021 09:00 AM PST Finding her own path. Amy Duggar earned a reputation as the rebellious cousin throughout her extended family’s tenure on 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On. Amy is the only child of Terry Jordan and Deanna Duggar, whose brother, Jim Bob Duggar, shares 19 children with wife Michelle Duggar. When the former politician and Michelle’s first reality series debuted in 2008, Amy and her parents would frequently make appearances — and showed how their lifestyle differed from that of their conservative relatives. Viewed as the “black sheep” of the Duggar clan, Amy was often outspoken about her uncle’s strict rules for his children, from eldest son Josh Duggar to youngest daughter Josie. During an early episode of 19 Kids and Counting, Amy called out Jim Bob’s expectations for chaperoned courtship. “I would probably ditch my chaperone,” she told the cameras before turning to the real estate agent. “You don’t want me to be [your kids’] chaperone. I will pretty much let them do whatever.” The Arkansas native went on to imply that her relatives were hypocritical for enforcing such restrictive rules, joking, “Come on now! I’m pretty sure you and Aunt Michelle were not like that when you were younger. I’m pretty sure they kissed before they were married.” Amy married Dillon King in her home state in September 2015. Four years later, the pair welcomed their son, Daxton. While some of her cousins — including Jill Duggar, Jinger Duggar and Jessa Duggar — have their own large broods, Amy didn’t appreciate the pressure to have more children. In October 2020, she shared an alleged DM from a social media user who urged her to “pick up the pace” and expand her family, clapping back in a lengthy “rant” about the double standards women experience. “I’m a very hands on mom, and I also want to give my son my full attention. This toddler stage is so amazing and I don’t want to miss a thing!” she wrote via Instagram. “A women’s [sic] body is not a factory!! Yes our bodies can do miraculous things! But I hate that phrase ‘pop out’ umm. No. It’s WORK. And our bodies go through a lot!” Amy added at the time: “I am an only child, and I think I grew up just fine. So cheers to the mama’s who decide to have one child! Honestly we are teetering on that idea. Some women are designed not to have large families. I am one of them. … It’s exhausting always being compared to other people. I’m in my thirties now, away from that show and I’m so over it. It just has to stop.” Scroll down to see Amy’s ups and downs with her extended family over the years: ![]() Amy was regularly featured on 19 Kids and Counting, which ran for 10 seasons between 2008 and 2015. "I think we are all just trying to find our path and we're all just doing things differently," she explained. "I'm doing things differently and I'm happy where I'm at. I'm happy for them. Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s Relationship Timeline Posted: 03 Dec 2021 08:32 AM PST Sticking together. Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have encountered many ups and downs during their decades-long marriage, but they are still fighting for their relationship. The rocker was married to his first wife, Thelma Riley, from 1971 to 1982. He adopted her son, Elliot; then the pair welcomed daughter Jessica in 1972 and son Louis in 1975. Ozzy met Sharon, who would become his second wife, in 1970. She was 18 at the time. Their relationship did not turn romantic until 1979. They tied the knot in 1982 and later became parents of daughters Aimee and Kelly and son Jack. Things took a turn in 1989 when Ozzy attacked Sharon and was arrested for attempted murder. She hit a panic button, and the police arrived to intervene. The former Talk cohost ultimately chose to stay married to the musician. "Thank God the judge put him in treatment for six months. I had time to really think about what he should do," she recalled on the Biography: Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne documentary in September 2020. "I told him, 'I don't want the money … but if you do this again, either I am going to kill you or you are going to kill me. And do you want that for the kids?'" After overcoming that obstacle, the couple faced a cheating scandal in 2016 that led them to split. However, they soon reconciled and renewed their vows. "You just, you make mistakes, and you learn by your mistakes, I think," Ozzy said during a Good Morning America appearance in July 2016. "It's just a bump in the road. … Some days it's good, some days it's terrible, some days you just drift apart for a while. But you get back on the horse, you know." Despite their rocky road, Kelly thanked her parents in July 2018 for "showing me what true love is" as the twosome celebrated their 36th anniversary. The former Fashion Police panelist is inspired by Ozzy and Sharon's love story, but she admitted in September 2018 that it has caused her to have doubts about her own trajectory. "It makes me believe I'll never find forever love, if I'm honest," she exclusively told Us Weekly at the time. "It's not because of me by any means! I think that the world has changed and people are not as inclined to want to work things [out]." And I’m not just saying that.” Ozzy revealed that Sharon was “devastated” by the allegations that she made racially insensitive remarks, but she had “weathered the storm” and was “marching on.” He added: “This was just another bump in the road. We’ll get through this.” Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock ![]() Sharon reflected in September 2021 on the previously “volatile” nature of her relationship with Ozzy. “Our fights were legendary,” she told the Daily Mail. “We would beat the s--t out of each other. Bachelor Nation's Katie Thurston and John Hersey's Relationship Timeline Posted: 03 Dec 2021 08:23 AM PST Even Katie Thurston didn't know what she was promising when she declared her Bachelorette ending was a "first" for the franchise. After appearing on season 25 of The Bachelor, which aired in early 2021, ABC named the Washington native their season 17 star. She subsequently started filming in Palm Springs and met 30 contestants, including bartender John Hersey. She sent the California native home during week two of the competition. Blake Moynes, who originally competed on season 16 of The Bachelorette in 2020, joined the cast when there were 14 men remaining. The Canada native admitted that he reached out to Thurston while Matt James' season was airing and felt like they would have a connection. After two of Thurston's top four quit — Greg Grippo and Michael Allio — she gave Moynes her final rose, sending home Justin Glaze. Thurston and Moynes' proposal aired on the August 2021 finale of The Bachelorette. The twosome told Us Weekly at the time that they weren't in a rush to move in together as they navigated their post-show future. By October, she admitted to Us that the twosome were "winging" things as Moynes traveled to Africa for work. "The short version is we're figuring it out. We don't know. This is very new to us still. I'm just focusing on myself, he's focusing on him, and if we work doing that, great. If not —” Thurston told Us before trailing off backstage at Whitney Cummings' comedy show. Days after the performance, Thurston and Moynes announced their engagement was over. She subsequently told her Instagram followers that the twosome "owe it to each other to step away" from their relationship because it wasn't working. "We were together for six months [and] Blake and I are very level-headed and mature, and we communicate very well on our thoughts," Thurston told fans on October 31, 2021. "And we just both knew if this was how our first six months was as a couple, going forward it was going to not be in our best interest for our happiness to stay together." Moynes, for his part, admitted things haven't "been easy" for him as he returned to social media post-split on November 9, 2021. Later that month, Us broke the news that Thurston was seeing Hersey. Her rep later confirmed the news via a statement: "It's known Katie and John became close friends post-season. John has been there for her through all the major changes in her life, and they are excited to explore this newly found romantic connection." Scroll through for a complete timeline of her relationship with Hersey: ![]() During night one of Thurston’s season, which filmed in March 2021, she admitted that Hersey was her “type” when he walked out of the limo. By week two, however, she sent him packing. ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() In May 2021, Thurston nearly ran into Hersey at a San Diego beach with friends. “John is surfing on this exact beach — very, very randomly, a rose floats by in the water. And he's like, ‘That's incredibly strange.’ … Just a very strange occurrence,” the duo’s mutual friend Stephen Lovegrove later recalled on Us’ “Here for the Right Reasons” podcast in September 2021. “He surfs, he goes home, we take photos, we get ice cream, we go home. And later that afternoon, John sees from Katie's account, all these photos go up and realizes as he was surfing with this random rose floating by, he was literally 100 feet away from the Bachelorette, who he had just filmed this season [with]. It was such a random coincidence that we didn't find out about till a long time later.” During that trip, Thurston was also spotted at Duke’s in La Jolla, where Hersey was a bartender. As her season aired in summer 2021, there was a fan theory that she got back together with Hersey due to the photos from the bar. “Through all of that speculation, at some point, I reached out to John and made a joke about I hope you and Katie are doing so well,” Lovegrove told Us. “And anyway, our friendship was born out of all of that. But yes, the Duke’s trip that threw off every spoiler page by total accident happened in the midst of the now-infamous San Diego trip [that sparked the love triangle with Alana Milne, Chris Conran and Jessenia Cruz on Bachelor in Paradise], as well.” ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() Despite his early departure, Hersey was always team Thurston, defending her after she accused finalist Greg Grippo of gaslighting her during their messy split on an August episode. “I watched [Monday] night's episode and was shocked by some of the behavior I witnessed, namely the words and body language exhibited by Greg,” Hersey wrote via Instagram Stories at the time. "Watching these actions get defended (and therefore normalized) strikes me as extremely unhealthy and a step in the wrong direction.” He added: "An individual can be a good friend to some while simultaneously being harmful to others in another relationship. Friendship cannot be an excuse to blindly defend someone's behavior.” ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() After spending the month apart amid his work trip to Africa, Thurston and Moynes reunited and announced their split on October 25, 2021. “It is with mutual love and respect that we have decided to go our separate ways. We are so grateful for the moments we shared together and the entire journey that has unfolded this year, but we ultimately have concluded that we are not compatible as life partners, and it is the most caring choice for both of us to move forward independently,” the twosome wrote via Instagram at the time. “We ask for kindness and privacy as we both navigate this transition. Both of us will forever want the best for one another and ask you to please support us in our decision.” ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() Social media began to speculate about Thurston’s relationship with Hersey after she shared a picture of the flowers she received following her split from Moynes with a note that read: “These are not romantic flowers. These are happy flowers. Because I do not want you to be… I want you to be happy.” Bachelor Nation was convinced that the note was from Hersey. Three days later, Thurston posted a throwback video on November 7 of “the first time I saw John since filming.” She then hinted that fans weren’t on the right track by sharing Polaroid photos with him, writing, “Y’all getting wild in my DMs." Courtesy Katie Thurston/Instagram ![]() Thurston began her “12 Days of Messy” challenge in mid-November, dedicating Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” to her former fiancé. Next Step! Katie Thurston and John Hersey Make Their Red Carpet Debut Posted: 03 Dec 2021 08:22 AM PST ![]() Not slowing down! Katie Thurston and John Hersey are not pumping the brakes on their new relationship, despite criticism from some fans about the speed at which she moved on from ex-fiancé Blake Moynes. The former Bachelorette, 30, and the bartender, 27, made their red carpet debut as a couple at their mutual friend Stephen Lovegrove's First Noelle Ball on Thursday, December 2. Us Weekly broke the news in November that they would attend the event together. The duo first shared Instagram Stories of each other getting ready together for the event before heading out and posing together on the carpet. Other guests included Bachelor Nation’s Katie Morton, Tammy Ly and Cassie Randolph, who attended with boyfriend Brighton Reinhardt. “I am unbelievably grateful to Krista and the entire team at Maverick's for helping me bring my vision to life,” Lovegrove told Us about the event. “This was the holiday party of my dreams. They helped me create it from the ground up, and I expect this to be a new annual tradition that only gets bigger and better every year! Thank you to everybody that came and celebrated with me. It was a magical night that I know we will never forget.” Thurston confirmed on November 23 that she is dating Hersey when she ended her "12 Days of Messy" challenge by dedicating Taylor Swift's "Begin Again" to the contestant she sent home during week two of season 17 and remained friends with after filming. The news came less than one month after she announced her split from Moynes, 31, whom she got engaged to during the August Bachelorette finale. The wildlife manager reacted to his ex's new romance one day later. "I really don't think there was any physical cheating there, but there [was] clearly emotional [cheating] for it to transition as quickly as it did. I feel stupid and foolish for allowing it to happen, to some degree," he said during the November 24 episode of the "Talking It Out With Bachelor Nation" podcast. Moynes noted that he was blindsided when Thurston revealed her status with Hersey. "Everyone is asking questions like I have the answers. I don't. I had no idea," the former season 16 Bachelorette star shared. "When everyone heard this, I heard the exact same thing. There was speculation, I think, obviously, but I really thought there was no way just based on the timeline." While Thurston has yet to address the Canada native's claims, Hersey denied that the Bachelor alum was unfaithful during her engagement. "You guys — she was engaged. It is apparent that many of you misjudge how both her and I view that commitment," he wrote in a letter posted via Reddit on Friday, November 26. "Neither Katie nor I would ever cheat, push someone to cheat or be involved in cheating. It is not in our nature. It is not acceptable. It is not OK. On second thought, maybe this message deserves its own paragraph: There was no wrongdoing prior to the end of their engagement." Hersey acknowledged that the timeline seemed "fast and messy" to fans, but he defended his and Thurston's choice to take things to the next level anyway. He concluded: "Once Katie and I realized there was a romantic connection that we were interested in exploring, we were not starting from scratch; we were building off of the foundation of a close friendship through which we had already gotten to know each other so well. … Our decision to come out publicly was a decision to pursue happiness in the way we wanted." |
Jenna Dewan and Steve Kazee: A Timeline of Their Relationship Posted: 03 Dec 2021 08:20 AM PST Life is better together! Jenna Dewan and Steve Kazee are crazy about each other, and Us Weekly is taking a look back on their love story. News of the Witches of East End alum's romance with the Broadway star came in October 2018, six months after she and estranged husband Channing Tatum announced their split after nine years of marriage. "We have something we would like to share … It feels odd that we have to share this kind of thing with everyone, but it's a consequence of the lives we've chosen to lead, which we also happen to be deeply grateful for. We're living in an incredible moment in time, but it's also a time where truth can easily get distorted into 'alternative facts,'" read a joint Instagram statement from Dewan and Tatum in April 2018. "So we want to share the truth so you know that if you didn't read it here then it's most certainly fiction. We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together." Us confirmed that Dewan — who shares daughter Everly with Tatum — was dating Kazee after the two were spotted kissing at the Casamigos Halloween party. Shortly after, the duo celebrated fall with friends at the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride. The former World of Dance host and the Tony Award winner began gushing over each other on social media the following month, and haven't shied away from packing on the PDA. In December 2018, Dewan proved she was a proud girlfriend while she and her mom, Nancy Lee Bursch, supported Kazee at his performance of Love Actually Live in Beverly Hills. "Jenna was constantly pointing at Steve when he was on stage and she was clapping and laughing and whispering to people next to her," an eyewitness told Us Weekly at the time. "She seemed to be having a total blast." After nearly a year of dating, Us confirmed in September 2019 that the couple were expecting their first child together. Every Bachelor Nation Engagement of 2021 Posted: 03 Dec 2021 08:15 AM PST If 2020 was the year of Bachelor breakups, 2021 seems to be the year of Bachelor engagements! Kaitlyn Bristowe, Haley Ferguson, Sydney Hightower and more alums have accepted new bling this year. Bristowe, for her part, previously got engaged to Shawn Booth during her season of The Bachelorette, which aired in 2015. After the twosome announced their split in 2018, the season 11 Bachelorette started seeing Jason Tartick, who appeared on Becca Kufrin's season 14 of The Bachelorette. "It was everything I could have asked for," Bristowe told Entertainment Tonight on May 11 about the proposal, which went down as the couple sat down to record an episode of her "Off the Vine" podcast. "The words that came out of his mouth were insanely beautiful. We've never locked eyes like that in our lives. We were holding hands, so intense, and I was listening to his every word, but still blacked out. Jason's like, 'Kaitlyn, we're not doing a podcast.' And I'm like, 'You forgot to hit record, didn't you!’" She added, "He was like, 'No, this is something else,' and he got up and I saw him bring out a ring box from the drawer." The weekend after Bachelor Nation celebrated Bristowe and Tartick's milestone, three more former Bachelor contestants announced their engagements. Sarah Herron, who appeared on Sean Lowe's season of The Bachelor and two seasons of Bachelor in Paradise, accepted a proposal from longtime love Dylan Brown on May 15. "To everyone who thinks life has to go in one particular order, or by a specific time… IT DOESN'T," she wrote alongside snaps from the Colorado proposal. "I'd wait a lifetime all over again—through the heartbreaks, years of self-work and countless rose ceremonies—to end up with this person. We make each other better, we have so much fun and we're going to become parents together, so we decided to do the damn thing!" The same day, Peter Weber's contestant Sydney’s man, Fred Warner, got down on one knee. "05•15•21 It's you & me," the season 24 alum wrote alongside pics with the San Francisco 49ers player. "When you know, you know." Haley, meanwhile, got engaged to Finnish hockey player Oula Palve several months after twin sister Emily Ferguson accepted a proposal from fellow NHL star William Karlsson. "Emily and I are conjoining our bachelorette [party] and bridal shower since we have the same bridal parties. We really just get to help each other out for planning both!" Haley gushed to Us Weekly on May 16. "Luckily, we both have different styles of weddings we like, so we will be able to incorporate our own touch."
