NBA Rumors: Kemba Walker Could Be Traded To Pelicans For Tomas Satoransky

Posted: 02 Dec 2021 01:11 PM PST

The New Orleans Pelicans entered the 2021-22 NBA season with the goal of ending their playoff drought. Unfortunately, as of now, the Pelicans are struggling to consistently win games. So far, they have lost six of their last 10 games, sitting in the No. 14 spot in the Western Conference with a 6-18 record.

Zion Williamson may be expected to rejoin the team soon after months of recovering from his injury but if they want to have a realistic chance of reaching the postseason, they should still strongly consider upgrading their roster before the 2022 NBA trade deadline.

Kemba Walker To New Orleans Pelicans

One of the most realistic trade targets for the Pelicans this season is veteran point guard Kemba Walker of the New York Knicks. After Coach Tom Thibodeau moved him out of their official rotation, A. Sherrod Blakely of Bleacher Report revealed that the Knicks could explore moving Walker before the 2022 NBA trade deadline.

However, before the Pelicans and the Knicks could push through with the trade, they would need to wait until mid-December since Walker just signed a new contract in the 2021 NBA free agency.

What The Pelicans Could Offer For Kemba Walker?

With his health issues and inconsistent performance in the 2021-22 NBA season, the Pelicans won't need to pay the king's ransom to convince the Knicks to send Walker to New Orleans before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. According to Jack Simone of Fansided's Hoops Habit, the Pelicans could acquire Walker from the Knicks by simply offering them veteran point guard Tomas Satoransky.

If the Walker-for-Satoransky trade becomes a reality, Simone believes it would help the Pelicans and the Knicks in filling up the needs to improve on their roster.

Kemba Walker Boosts Pelicans' Playoff Odds

Though it would only cost them Satoransky, trading for Walker would still be a risky move for the Pelicans. However, if he could stay healthy throughout the 2021-22 NBA season, he would undeniably be a huge help for the Pelicans in achieving their goal to return to the playoffs next year.

Walker would give the Pelicans a very reliable scoring option behind Williamson and Brandon Ingram as well as a veteran playmaker and floor-spacer. This season, he's averaging 11.7 points, 3.1 assists, and 1.1 steals while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 41.3 percent from beyond the arc, per ESPN. Those numbers are expected to further improve once he starts playing for a team that could give him more playing time and a significant role on the offensive end of the floor.

Kemba Walker & Knicks Better Off Ending Partnership

Going into separate directions might really be what is best for Walker and the Knicks. As of now, it's crystal clear that Walker isn't the player that Thibodeau needs to help the Knicks become a more competitive team in the Eastern Conference this season. Satoransky may not be expected to receive significant playing time in New York but with his contract expiring after the season, he would enable the Knicks to open up some salary-cap flexibility in the summer of 2022.

Meanwhile, though joining the Pelicans won't put him closer to winning his first NBA championship title, taking his talent to New Orleans is still better for Walker than spending the reason of the season rotting on the Knicks' bench.

NBA Trade Rumors: LA Lakers Could Swap Russell Westbrook For D'Angelo Russell

Posted: 02 Dec 2021 12:35 PM PST

The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the title contenders that are expected to make big moves before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. The Lakers may be starting to learn how to consistently win games, but there remains a huge question regarding Russell Westbrook's fit with the team. If he fails to show improvement with his chemistry with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, they may strongly consider using him as a trade chip to find a new starting point guard in the 2021-22 NBA season.

D'Angelo Russell Returns To Lakers

One of the most interesting trade targets for the Lakers is All-Star point guard D'Angelo Russell of the Minnesota Timberwolves. In a recent article, Zane Harris of Fansided's Lake Show Life suggested potential trade scenarios involving Westbrook. These include a hypothetical blockbuster deal that would allow the Lakers to send Westbrook to Minnesota and bring Russell back to Los Angeles.

Unlike other players who are on Harris' list of potential trade targets for the Lakers, Russell would no longer need to make himself comfortable in Los Angeles since it's the place where he started his NBA career. In 2015, the Lakers drafted Russell using the second overall pick.

Proposed Lakers-Timberwolves Trade

With the huge difference in their salaries, the Lakers and the Timberwolves couldn't simply engage in a one-for-one trade featuring Russell and Westbrook. To come up with a workable deal, other players may need to get involved. In the proposed trade scenario by Fansided's Lake Show Life, the Lakers would be sending a trade package that includes Westbrook, Avery Bradley, a 2027 first-round pick, and a 2028 second-round pick to the Timberwolves in exchange for Russell and Patrick Beverley.

If the trade becomes a reality it would help both teams in filling up the needs to improve on their roster.

D'Angelo Russell Joins Forces With LeBron James & Anthony Davis

Though it would cost them two future draft picks, bringing Russell back to Los Angeles would make a lot of sense for the Lakers. At 25, Russell would give the Lakers a long-term answer at the starting point guard position. He may not have the same numbers of All-Star recognitions as Westbrook, but he would be a much better fit alongside James and David.

Compared to Westbrook, Russell is a more efficient three-point shooter and commits lesser turnovers. Also, Russell won't have a problem if James wants to run the offense since he could play at the shooting guard position and excel in an off-ball capacity.

Patrick Beverley Heads Back To Los Angeles

Russell won't be the only one who would return to Los Angeles but also Beverley. Beverley was playing with the Lakers' LA rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers, before he was traded to the Timberwolves last summer. Beverley may have been harshed towards the Lakers for years, but he would definitely be intrigued by the idea of being part of their team this season.

Meanwhile, though he recently claimed that they are no longer the best team in Los Angeles, Beverley would still be a welcome addition to the Lakers. He could immediately fill the hole left by Alex Caruso in their backcourt and defense. Beverley may not be an All-Star, but he could help the Lakers become one of the best defensive teams in the league once again.

Dakota Johnson To Direct Mystery Project In 2022

Posted: 02 Dec 2021 12:30 PM PST

Dakota Johnson is exploring her creative abilities and directing a new project in 2022, according to a recent interview.

Following the success of her recent film The Lost Daughter, the 32-year-old actress is excited to start working on new pursuits. She is tight-lipped about her directorial project but shared a little detail on how she feels about the upcoming feature.

Scroll down to find out more about Dakota's new directorial project.

Directing Boyfriend Chris Martin

It won't be the first time Johnson will be calling the shots behind the camera. Last year, she took on the challenging task of directing her own boyfriend Chris Martin in Coldplay's Cry, Cry, Cry music video.

According to Dakota, she applied for the job like every other hopeful director who is vying for a project.

"I wrote the story and pitched it to the band like every other director did – and they chose mine," Johnson told Marie Claire. "Not because they're partial to me at all."

Founding Her Own Production Company

Being a child of veteran actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, Dakota has been around film sets her whole life, which is probably why she gravitated towards the same industry.

When asked how she picks her projects, Dakota answered: "I really don't have a method, and I don't want one – it's very intuitive and emotional."

In 2019, Dakota partnered with former Netflix exec Ro Donnelly to launch TeaTime pictures - a forward-thinking TV/film development company who aims to make thought-provoking content across all genres.

Mystery Project In 2022

In a recent interview, it was revealed that Johnson will be directing her own first feature in 2022. While she was careful not to spill the details, Johnson mentioned that while she has reservations, the project is pushing through.

"We talked about someone else directing, but then I was dreaming about it, having ideas all the time. It's in my bones, this story. I'm like, 'Is this too soon?' But it's happening. I'm gonna do it."

Oscar-Worthy Performance?

Johnson's most recent film The Lost Daughter received a standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival and has racked up four wins in Gotham Awards. Aside from the movie itself, Dakota's performance was also outstanding and has earned itself some awards buzz.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Johnson shared that the film "unlocked" something in her and made her a better artist.

"There was a new woman in me after that one. I came back feeling like I had let go of some things and allowed myself to become something else."

Ridiculousness' Chanel West Coast Promises Fans Unique OnlyFans Content

Posted: 02 Dec 2021 12:25 PM PST

Over the years, we saw Chanel "the host" on MTV's Ridiculousness, "the actor" on Love & HipHop: Hollywood, and "the rapper," at sold out concerts. Are we now getting Chanel the "OnlyFans" model?

Keep reading to find out what the 33-year-old thinks of the social media app.

Earlier this year, Chanel West Coast ended her 23 seasons run as a co-host on MTV's Ridiculousness. She's focusing instead on her music career, which started in 2009. When a 21-year-old Chanel signed to Young Money, we expected her to be the next big star but, her career took a different turn.

The Been On rapper hinted that tensions behind-the-scenes caused her abrupt departure from the big record label. She's since moved on, as we can see on her website.

'The Sky Isn't The Limit, It's Only The View'

In the words of _American Sweetheart, "the sky isn't the limit, it's only the view." West Coast surprised fans when she dropped a 19-track debut album in 2020. According to Spotify Wrapped for Artists the project is a huge success.

American Sweetheart racked 3.8 million streams from 1 million listeners across 168 countries. Chanel took to her Instagram to celebrate her album's success. In a post thanking her 3.5 million followers, she reminded fans and "haters," that she achieved this with "NO LABEL, NO big marketing schemes, NO support from the blogs, NO investor, NO man helping with sh*t."

Choosing Talent Over Being Sexy

Sitting down with In Touch Magazine, West Coast emphasized her need to promote her talent over her looks. "I'd rather be known for my talent than just being sexy," she says. When asked about joining OnlyFans (the social media app for monetizing posts), Chanel replies she might join but not post sexy content.

The In The Clouds rapper reminded the interviewer that she had young fans looking up to her. That's not her being coy, though, because she posts sensual content on her Instagram – her Halloween costume is a testament. Since friends suggest monetizing her posts, Chanel would rather not.

Giving Back To Society

Chanel joins a long list of artists who give back to society from their earnings. She told HipHop1987 on Oct. 2020 how recognizing her privilege prompted her to do that. West Coast's album success is more than streams because she's giving a portion of the proceeds to Jay Z and Meek Mill's REFORM Alliance.

West Coast has a clothing line LOL CARTEL which she sells on her website iamchanelwestcoast.com.

Who Is Chanel?

She may have left the big screens but not the camera. Chanel documents her life via vlogs and blogs. According to her website bio, "Chanel likes to keep her fans up to date on her life and her thoughts because that's the best way to feel someone's vibe." You can start feeling her vibe at Rolling Loud on Dec. 12.

In her Spotify wrapped tribute, Chanel echoes that she does everything for her fans. She also says, "Engaging with fans is something she considers a blessing. Her fans keep her humble and so happy." To keep up with West Coast, visit her YouTube channel.

MLB Star Marcell Ozuna Chokes Wife In Police Video

Posted: 02 Dec 2021 12:15 PM PST

Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna was arrested on May 29 after police officers in Sandy Springs, an Atlanta, Georgia suburb, witnessed him assaulting his wife, Genesis Ozuna.

The Sandy Springs police department released a video of the incident on Wednesday. The footage, taken from a bodycam worn by one of the police officers, shows that the MLB star was choking his wife as cops burst through his door.

Read more about this incident below, and watch the video of Ozuna assaulting his wife.

Video

The video shows a police officer approaching Ozuna's home.

The door is open, so the officer walks into the house, only to encounter Ozuna, his wife, and another male standing next to each other. In the clip, the MLB star is seen grabbing his wife's neck, and choking her.

"Get your hands off her!" the officer says.

"Get on the ground! Get on the ground!" he repeatedly shouts.

Ozuna is seen complying with the orders and laying down on the floor.

"Step out, step out. Ma'am, step outside," the officer tells Genesis Ozuna.

Suspension

Ozuna was retroactively suspended 20 games over the incident. According to ESPN, the suspension covers the final 24 days of the regular season, so the outfielder will lose around $1.55 million of his salary.

In a statement, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred explained the league's decision.

"My office has completed its investigation into the allegations that Marcell Ozuna violated Major League Baseball's Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy. Having reviewed the totality of the available evidence, I have concluded that Mr. Ozuna violated our Policy and that discipline is appropriate."

Braves Issue Statement

The Atlanta Braves also issued a statement, and described Ozuna's behavior as "unacceptable."

'Any instance of domestic violence is unacceptable, and we fully support the decision by the commissioner's office regarding Marcell. We are encouraged to know that Marcell has accepted full responsibility for his actions and is taking the necessary measures to learn and grow from the situation," the Braves said.

As ESPN noted, Ozuna re-signed with the Braves in February, on a four-year $65 million deal. He hit 19 home runs and 56 RBIs for the Braves during the 2020 season.

Charges

As The Washington Post reported, after getting arrested, Ozuna was charged with aggravated assault strangulation and misdemeanor battery family violence.

Aggravated assault, which is a felony in the state of Georgia, was dropped in July.

Ozuna now faces family violence battery and simple assault charges, which will most likely also be dismissed if he completes the conditions of a diversion program he entered in September.

In May, the Sandy Springs police department said that Ozuna also "struck the victim with his arm which has a cast from a previous injury."

Ariana Grande Breaks Down Her Most 'Iconic' Music Videos

Posted: 02 Dec 2021 09:55 AM PST

Ariana Grande fans got the scoop on some of her most popular music videos in a recent interview with Allure. Breaking down "iconic" scenes from hit songs off of several albums, including 2014's My Everything, 2016's Dangerous Woman, 2018's Sweetner and Thank U, Next, and 2020's Positions, the 28-year-old pop star gave a shout out to everyone she's worked with on the clips, while also spilling spicy details about the videos' concepts, glam, and wardrobe.

Details below.

'Problem'

Back in May 2014, Ariana was releasing the music video for "Problem" off of the My Everything album. Featuring Iggy Azalea, the clip directed by The Young Astronauts, who had collaborated on Ariana's "Right There" and "Almost Is Never Enough" the previous year, has since scored over 1.3 billion views on YouTube.

Discussing the clip with Allure earlier in September, Ariana said: "I really love the '60s. I've always loved that era for glamour, for wardrobe, for aesthetic, film, choreography, everything."

The pop star revealed that the famous dancing scene in the video was inspired by the 1969 musical Sweet Charity, noting the costumes they used -- including her glittering little black dress, pictured above -- we "almost identical" to the movie.

"I love that era, so we had a lot of fun dipping a toe in here -- and then I never kinda dipped any toes out for the rest of my life," joked Ariana, adding that she loved Iggy's glam and hairstyle in the vid.

For a trip down memory lane, hit "play" on the music video below.

'Break Free'

Ariana followed that up with "Break Free" in August that year, another huge hit with over 1.1 billion views on YouTube. Directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, known for Britney Spears' "I Wanna Go" and "Criminal," this was one of Ariana's "favorite" videos.

"I had the time of my life shooting this video," she said, giving props to celebrity makeup artist Kristopher Buckle, hairstylist Dalina Rebollo, and stylist Johnny Wujek for creating her looks for the clip. "It was a beautiful, fun video."

Diving into the concept, Ariana explained she's "always loved vintage interpretations of space and what the future looks like, but in the '50s or '60s."

Confessing her admiration for Barbarella, whom she says she continues to channel "as much as possible," the singer and actress described "a really cool deleted scene" where she and the team "recreated the who shot first scene" from Harrison Ford's 1977 Star Wars movie.

"My rocket titties made their debut here. I use them all the time personally, but they publicly made their debut in this video as well," Ariana hilariously added. "They're very useful though."

Check out the music vid below.

'Love Me Harder'

When "Love Me Harder" came out later that same year, Ariana got the chance to work with director Hannah Lux Davis, who went on to direct a number of music videos for the artist. The song also marked Ariana's first collaboration with The Weeknd, which she described as "really fun."

Discussing the video concept, Ariana admitted it "didn't feel very personal to me, as I'm sitting in an old chair in some sand, and I end up in water for some reason." She also addressed the outfit she wore on camera, saying she was "dressed as some sort of whorish kitten."

"I love the look in it," Ariana assured, disclosing how she "really fought Hannah for the kitty ears."

"I'm really glad that I did though, 'cause I really like them. I think it would have felt almost too serious without the ears for me," she said, noting that, for the most part, she "kinda gave up the reins here and was just kind of like, go for it."

Revisit Ariana's look in the music video below.

'Side to Side'

Another iconic collaboration with a fellow singer came in 2016 when Ariana recorded "Side to Side" with Nicki Minaj. The music video was also directed by Hannah, with Ariana giving a comical account of how the concept was born.

"I remember I was on the treadmill thinking and listening to my playlist of what was becoming the Dangerous Woman album. And I got to 'Side to Side' and I, like, why does this feel so fun to listen to on the treadmill? And I FaceTimed Hannah, and I said, we should be on SoulCycle bikes. And she was like, '[gasps], I'll call you back.'"

Watch the music video below!

'No Tears Left to Cry'

Ariana's Sweetner album came with a completely different vibe, which was particularly evident in the "No Tears Left to Cry" music video. Premiering in April 2018, the vid was the work of famed director Dave Meyers, with whom Ariana continued to collaborate throughout her career.

Detailing the sheer amount of preparation that went into the clip, Ariana shared that the rotating set built for the first scene "took so long to get used to."

"I pitched David this idea of sort of multiple fields of gravity because of a game I was playing at the time called 'Monument Valley' on my phone. I told him how much I love Escher's stairs and stuff like that. And we sort of mushed everything together," she said, explaining this video served as the "centerpiece for the Sweetner album and era."

Delving further into the idea, Ariana described the album as a "play on being upside down and not knowing what is right and what is up."

"Because also personally, in my life at the time, I was sort of upside down and not knowing where the ground was and not feeling very grounded or okay," she shared. "I felt like that was a really nice, cool way to visually represent what I was feeling during those moments."

Give the video a watch below.

'God Is a Woman'

Ariana collaborated again with Dave for "God Is a Woman," which premiered in July 2018. Designing her looks was glam team Ash & Josh and Hollywood stylist Mimi Cuttrell, whose portfolio includes magazine covers and red carpet look for Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Priyanka Chopra, Sara Sampaio, and Georgia Fowler.

"This one was so much fun because obviously there are so many beautiful ways to express femininity and what it is to be a woman," said Ariana. "And there's [sic] so many things to lean into as far as paying homage to art that already exists and also creating our own."

Among other things, the pop star revealed that one of her "favorite moments" was the scene where she's "fingering the Earth."

"Loved that a lot," she said, adding: "I also loved recreating the Michelangelo moment at the end because I was able to tease that we were putting that in this video at the Met Gala when I worked with Vera wang on my dress."

Another scene she spoke passionately about was the "watercolor p*ssy that I'm swimming in, in the beginning," sharing that the artwork in the water, as well as on her cheek, hair, and body was made by Alexa Meade.

"That is not random paint, it's not a pool. That's p*ssy for sure," she said.

Watch the music video below!

'thank u, next'

For the "thank u, next" music video, Ariana teamed up with Hannah once again to recreate all of her favorite scenes from all of her favorite movies.

"Nobody is more right to do this with than Hannah. She turned something that felt so torrential at the time in my life into something that felt fun and light, at least while we were doing it," Ariana gushed over the director. "And what I got to share with the world felt bright and beautiful."

Dishing that the duo was actually filming "Breathin'" off of Sweetner when they came up with the video concept for "thank u, next," Ariana said she got a kick out of playing Regina Gorge and Elle Woods.

The superstar continued: "Playing Jenna Rink was a dream come true. I couldn't believe it, Jennifer Garner even reposted it. And I love her so much."

Fans will remember Jennifer raving about Ariana on Instagram at the time.

Another thing that got Ariana excited was working with Jennifer Coolidge. The Boca Raton native, who says she's "a humongous comedy person" and lists Best in Show as her "favorite movie," revealed that Jennifer (who was also in that film) recreated all of her looks from Legally Blonde especially for the video.

"Which was the biggest honor of my entire life," said Ariana, adding: "I worship her."

"You should see the outtakes," she teased, "they're so funny."

Check out the music video below.

'Positions'

Talking about her more recent music video, Ariana disclosed that the concept for "Positions," which came out last October, was actually her husband, 26-year-old real estate agent Dalton Gomez's idea.

"We were in the car driving home, and Dalton just turned to me and was like, what if you were the president?" she said. "This was literally three days away from the shoot," she added, noting that the director -- her old pal Dave -- "made it happen."

Aside from Dave helming, Mimi came back as stylist, with Michael "Manthony" Anthony and Josh Liu doing makeup and hair.

Making the case for feminism and femininity, Ariana added: "I also love the women that are in this video with me. It was really cool just to sort of paint this picture in a feminine way and just say, you know, why couldn't it look like that? Why couldn't it even look half like that? F**k."

Watch the music video below.

'34+35'

Ariana brought the whole crew in to work on "34+35" off of the same album, which only saw a directorial change, with Director X stepping in.

"This was another one where we took inspiration from that '60s sci-fi," she said. "Again, that old horror '60s thing is my favorite aesthetic in the world. So we tried to make it sort of emulate that with the drippy letters and stuff."

Talking about the choreography, which was done by twin professional dancers Brian and Scott Nicholson, Ariana described it as "so silly and fun, but also so chic."

"I've worked with them my whole career, so it's fun to sort of find new stories to tell with them and 'okay, are we voguing today?' 'no, we're being fembots today, actually," she shared. "And they are always able to jump in, and execute everything so beautifully and make me feel beautiful in the movements."

Ariana, who said she feels "so lucky" to have been able to do this video, added: "I appreciate them, and everybody I get to work with."

Ethan Crumbley's Older Brother Speaks Up

Posted: 02 Dec 2021 09:36 AM PST

Fifteen-year-old Ethan Crumbley opened fire inside Oxford High School in Michigan on Tuesday, shooting eleven individuals.

Three students were killed in the shooting. They have been identified as Tate Myre, Madisyn Baldwin, and Hana St. Juliana. Another student, Justin Shilling, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, and several others have been hospitalized.

Crumbley, has been hit with murder, terrorism, assault and weapons possession charges. Authorities claim the shooting was premeditated, so he has been charged as an adult.

But what was Crumbley's motive?

Eli Crumbley

Ethan's half-brother Eli Crumbley, who is 18 years old, said on Wednesday that his younger brother never displayed any violent tendencies.

"The Ethan I knew was just a smart boy who just seemed like an average kid. There was nothing that ever stood out to me. He'd never get suspended from school, or detention," Eli told The Daily Mail.

"He didn't suffer depression or anything like that. He woke up happy, went to school, came home and played games," the teen continued.

School Shooting

Eli and Ethan have the same father. The two boys lived together with their father James and Ethan's mom Jennifer, but Eli moved in with his biological mother last March.

"It mostly had to do with the relationship between my stepmother and I. It wasn't as great as it could be. Moving back to Florida was the best option for me," Eli said, refusing to elaborate.

On the day of the shooting, Eli repeatedly called his father because he was worried for his little brother's safety, but couldn't reach him. He eventually realized that it was Ethan who shot up the school.

'It's Still Hard To Believe'

Eli said that "it's still hard to believe" his brother murdered his schoolmates.

"As far as I knew, Ethan was always good. He was just quiet, kept to himself, kept his circle of friends small. He was a clean kid, didn't smoke or do drugs, nothing. And he got good grades. He wanted to be an archeologist."

"When I was living there, nothing seemed off. We'd just walk to the bus stop in the morning, go to school, come home, maybe play some football outside or basketball. We'd just chill, wouldn't do much," he continued.

Alleged Bullying

Some reports suggest that Ethan was bullied at school. Per The Detroit News, authorities say the school has no reports of Ethan being bullied or harassed.

According to his own brother, he was never bullied as a child.

Eli explained that Ethan was on the bowling and soccer teams in middle school, and that video games were his favorite hobby. He added that he wasn't aware of any issues his younger brother might have been experiencing.

"I really don't know what his reasoning was behind this," Eli said.

NFL News: Mac Jones Is Ahead Of The Tom Brady Curve, Says Hall Of Famer

Posted: 02 Dec 2021 09:33 AM PST

Just when fans from the other 31 NFL teams thought they were finally safe from Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots, Mac Jones came into the picture.

The Alabama product continues to get better every week and keeps turning heads everywhere he goes, and that only means trouble for the rest of the league.

In fact, he's been so good that Hall of Famer Kurt Warner even said that he's ahead of the Tom Brady curve at this point in his career.

Kurt Warner Raves About Mac Jones

Warner said that the Patriots are asking more out of Jones than they did from Tom Brady at that point in his career:

"It might be blasphemous, but someone who wasn't nearly to me what Mac Jones is right now,"_ Warner said, per the New York Post. "just in terms of what they're asking him to do, how they're asking him to make plays, the amount of plays that they're asking him to make. [Brady] he wasn't being asked to do nearly as much as Mac Jones is doing, in my opinion. And that has to excite you."

And, while Warner didn't imply that Jones will turn out to be better than Brady, Patriots fans have plenty of reasons to be excited:

"Now that doesn't mean that Mac's gonna progress like Tom Brady and be better than Tom Brady or anything," Warner explained. "It's just I think Mac is really ahead of his years in understanding how to play the position, and we're seeing that, and we're seeing his team be successful because of it."

Warner Is Impressed With Jones' Big Throws

Warner added that Mac Jones is silencing those who doubted his arm power and athletic ability:

"Mac has shown me that he's got the ability to make some of those big-time throws. I still want to see more." the Hall of Famer added. "(...) Mac Jones is starting to show me that there's some throws I wasn't sure he could make that he's making."

The Alabama product is taking a page out of Brady's book when it comes to constantly proving the doubters wrong:

Jones Leads All Rookies And It's Not Close At All

Jones has been a bright spot for an unimpressive rookie QB class thus far.

Per CBS Sports, he's got more pass touchdowns (16) than Trevor Lawerence (9), Justin Fields (4), and Zach Wilson (4).

He also tops them in passing yards (2,850), completion percentage (70.3%), and passer rating (97.1).

If that wasn't enough, he leads the NFL in games with 65%+ completion this season (10), ahead of bonafide stars like Tom Brady, Kyler Murray, Joe Burrow, Kirk Cousins, and Dak Prescott.

The Pats Keep Rolling

Well, so much for the post-Brady hangover, huh?

Thanks to Jones' surge and their dominant defense, the Patriots are riding an NFL-best six-game winning streak and have a golden opportunity to hold on to the top of the AFC East on Sunday.

The Pats will visit the Buffalo Bills for the first of the two games in the regular season, and we wouldn't want to put our money against the hottest team in the AFC, especially with Bill Belichick calling the shots.

NFL Rumors: Matt Rhule Keeps Drawing Interest From Multiple College Jobs

Posted: 02 Dec 2021 08:31 AM PST

The sports business is brutal and ruthless, and college football is one of the biggest examples of that.

If not, just take Lincoln Riley and Brian Kelly as examples. Both blindsided their teams to see whether the grass was greener somewhere else, leaving their players and their fans hanging.

Now, the CFB monster is trying to get its claws in yet another poor victim, as Carolina Panthers coach Matt Rhule has been tied to multiple openings over the past couple of weeks, including Oklahoma and Notre Dame.

Sooners Want Rhule As Their New Coach

After his success at Temple and Baylor and given his struggles in the NFL, some people believe that the Sooners have made Rhule one of its top candidates to replace Riley:

"A source also told SI All Panthers that Rhule is on Oklahoma's shortlist," reported Sports Illustrated. "I don't know how great of a fit Rhule would be at Oklahoma but there seems to be some interest in him from Oklahoma's side. Rhule had a ton of success at the collegiate level turning around both Temple and Baylor from bottomfeeders to conference championship contenders."

Rhule Shuts Down Oklahoma Rumors

The coach, however, doesn't seem interested in going back to college and would rather trying to build a winning culture with the Panthers:

"I have one of the greatest jobs you can have. I left an unbelievable job at Baylor with a long-term contract and great people for a place to come here," Rhule said, per 247Sports. "I built two football programs and when I say I, I mean my staff, and I built two great football programs at the college level and I wanted to try and do it in the NFL. We went through a tough first year like I expected. We're in the middle of the second year and it's been back and forth and we're not quite where we want to be but you don't get to say that you like to build and then get upset that you didn't inherit something. We're building something. I hope every guy here knows that I'm in it with them for the long haul to get this thing done."

Then again, we've heard that in the past just to see coaches taking the very job they vowed not to take.

Can Rhule Turn Things Around In Carolina?

Through a one-and-a-half season in charge of the team, Rhule is just 10-18 with the Panthers.

His defense has slightly improved in comparison to the last year under Ron Rivera but Christian McCaffrey's constant injuries and the offensive inconsistency have made it tough for Rule to establish his blueprint at Carolina.

So, even if he doesn't take a job in college now, some think that his days at the NFL level could be numbered if he has another losing season next year.

Panthers Need A Quarterback

Once again, the biggest issue for the Panthers has been at the quarterback position.

Teddy Bridgewater wasn't the answer and Sam Darnold is what it is at this point. PJ Walker was a backup in the XFL for a reason and Cam Newton isn't back.

The Panthers are paying 3 QBs starter money even though none of them is starter material and one of them isn't even on the roster anymore.

So, regardless of who's calling the shots or whether McCaffrey's healthy or not, they'll only go as far as their QB can take them, and that's a big concern going forward.
