Kristin Chenoweth's Latest Exploits: Here's What She's Been Up To

Posted: 13 Nov 2021 04:07 PM PST

Actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth has had a busy year. In 2021, the 53-year-old stage, movie, and television star appeared in one TV series (Schmigadoon!) and one podcast series (The Bystanders). She's also released a new yuletide album, HAPPINESS is…Christmas!, and is gearing up for a performance at The Metropolitan Opera on December 13. And did we mention she got engaged?

Outside of music and acting, the Wicked star has been involved in a number of projects, keeping fans up to speed on her latest exploits through her Instagram page. Here's what she's been up to lately.

Thanksgiving Day Parade

Chenoweth is one of the many stars appearing at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade this year. Back in its original format, the event is slated to be more dazzling than ever, with its starry deck of guests including Carrie Underwood, Foreigner, Jimmie Allen, Glee alum Darren Criss, Busy Philipps, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Mickey Guyton, to name but a few.

"It's back, and we're excited to bring it back to the streets of New York City in its full form, in the way that audiences have grown to know and love us," parade executive producer Will Coss said in a statement.

"It's going to be a celebration of spectacle, a celebration of performance, a celebration of culture, a celebration of love. It's going to be a really exciting day, and we're really just elated to have the opportunity to bring it back in its true form," he added.

Oklahoma Cultural Ambassador

While anxiously waiting for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 25, the Broken Arrow native returned to her home state of Oklahoma earlier this week to accept an honorary title. Recognized at this year's Oklahoma Governor's Art Awards, Chenoweth was bestowed the mantle of Oklahoma Cultural Ambassador.

"I was highly emotional, and I didn't expect it," the Emmy and Tony winner told The Oklahoman upon accepting the title on Tuesday. "I never get to be at home... and I'm leaving in the morning to continue to work. But I've loved it. Tonight was very special."

New Children's Book

Among Chenoweth's many accomplishments as of late was writing a children's book. Twelve years after completing her first tome, A Little Bit Wicked, the star is releasing a second title, What Will I Do with My Love Today?, due to come out on March 8.

This will be Chenoweth's first picture book, featuring gorgeous illustrations by Maine Diaz, People is reporting.

The book aims to encourage kids to "look for ways to be kind and loving every day," per a press release. It details the adventures of a young girl named Kristi Dawn, who goes around New York City performing acts of generosity and kindness, including adopting a dog.

"As a child of adoption, I wanted to write a book about what it was like for me to rescue a dog," Chenoweth told People. "I don't think it's all that different. It's you love who you love, and you pick your family sometimes and sometimes it's nature versus nurture. In my case, I got the right parents and in my dog Thunder's case, she definitely got the right parent."

'My Moment' Book

That is not the only writing venture she's undertaken this year. Together with four other talented ladies -- Hocus Pocus star Kathy Najimy, 4 Non Blondes frontwoman Linda Perry, country singer Chely Wright, and writer Lauren Blitzer -- Chenoweth is compiling a book of essays coming out on April 26.

Titled My Moment: 106 Women on Fighting for Themselves, the essay collection is inspired by the #MeToo movement and comprises the stories of 106 women, celebrities included, notes Variety.

"For so long, women have been silent about things that have hurt them or made them feel ashamed," said Chenoweth. "I've kept my story quiet for a long time, and yes, it was scary to tell, but I'm doing it because I feel so empowered to stand with these incredible girls and women. Working on this book has changed us all, and we cannot wait to share it with the world."

Among the celebrities featured in the book are musicians, actors, and TV personalities, such as Brandi Carlile, Rosanne Cash, Cyndi Lauper, Debra Messing, Carol Burnett, and Alicia Silverstone, Brooke Baldwin, and Soledad O'Brien.

NFL Rumors: Patriots' Mac Jones Is Already Making Enemies Around The League

Posted: 13 Nov 2021 02:05 PM PST

From a football standpoint, New England Patriots rookie Mac Jones has had a pretty decent start to his career.

Thus far, he's thrown for 21,35 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions while completing 68.0% of his passes.

The Patriots are 5-4 for the season and have a shot at taking down the Buffalo Bills at the top of the AFC East.

But when it comes to his reputation, it seems like the Alabama product has already pissed off some colleagues around the league.

Haason Redick Says Jones Is Dirty

Jones grabbed Panthers' Brian Burns leg after a sack and appeared to twist it. Burns had to leave the game but Jones wasn't called for a penalty.

However, his teammate Haason Reddick didn't hesitate to call out the rookie for that dangerous play:

"Definitely thought it was a dirty play,'' Reddick told ESPN.

"I actually saw and witnessed the play while it was happening. At first, it felt like he was trying to trip or kick Burns. And the next thing you know I saw him tugging on Burns' ankle. I thought it was completely dirty. Hopefully, it's something the league addresses.''

Jones Says He Didn't Try To Make A Dirty Play

Jones denied those accusations by saying that he didn't really know what was happening and he just wanted to make a tackle:

"After I got hit pretty hard, I didn't really know exactly what was going on. I thought he had the ball and it was my job to try and make the tackle. That was pretty much it," Jones said, as reported by CBS.

"And you know, obviously when you get up and you see the ball is actually down the field a little bit more … it was just a bang-bang play and I didn't mean to hurt anybody or anything like that. I was just trying to tackle him and make the play. Because you know, I didn't really know what was going on."

Brian Burns Also Called Him Out

The Panthers aren't buying that story, though. Burns recently addressed the media and said that the league should've taken action against Jones for that play:

"Even if you thought I had the ball, it's not legal to trip somebody or to leg-sweep somebody, let alone twist ankles," Burns said, per Boston.com. "It's not legal to do that. And everybody else ran past us. If I had the ball, don't you think I'd be getting tackled or your teammate would help? So I don't think it's cool, but it's whatever."

Panthers DL Wishes Rivals A 'Happy Hunting' On Mac Jones

Burns said that he knows that neither Jones nor the Patriots will apologize for the dirty play, and went as far as to with his fellow pass-rusher 'happy hunting' on Mac Jones:

"They're not going to hit me up," he said. "… It would be nice to have an apology. It would be nice to have an apology, but it's not going to happen. However the NFL handles it is on them. I would just like to play them again. I wish all my [defensive end] brothers happy hunting. That's all."

Whether other players will take Burns' words literally or not, that's yet to be seen. But that's not how you want to get your career started.

NBA Rumors: Jaylen Brown To Sixers, Karl-Anthony Towns To Celtics In Suggested Three-Way Blockbuster

Posted: 13 Nov 2021 01:39 PM PST

After the Boston Celtics were linked to Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons, rumors have started to swirl around Jaylen Brown and his future in the NBA. In the potential deal that would send Simmons to Beantown, the Sixers are reportedly demanding a package that is centered on Brown. Unfortunately, despite their interest in Simmons, the Celtics have no plan of giving up the former third overall pick.

That isn't surprising since, as of now, most people would agree that Brown is a better player than Simmons.

Proposed Three-Team Trade Involving Jaylen Brown

However, the Celtics could change their mind about keeping Brown if they are presented with an opportunity to land a legitimate superstar. In a recent article, Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report came up with a hypothetical three-team blockbuster trade idea featuring Brown, Simmons, and Karl-Anthony Towns.

In the proposed trade scenario, the Celtics would get Towns, the Sixers would receive Brown and Patrick Beverley, while the Timberwolves would obtain Simmons, Robert Williams III, Matisse Thybulle, Jaden Springer, and a 2022 first-round pick. If the trade becomes a reality, it would help the Celtics, Sixers, and the Timberwolves in filling up the needs to improve on their roster.

Celtics Pair Jayson Tatum With Karl-Anthony Towns

The Celtics shouldn't mind parting ways with Brown since they would be getting the best player in the deal. Towns doesn't only perfectly fit Jayson Tatum's timeline, but he could also be a much better superstar running mate for him than Brown.

Towns would significantly improve the Celtics' frontcourt. He would give them an All-Star center, a very reliable scorer, a monster rebounder, a quality rim protector, and an efficient floor-spacer. This season, he's averaging 23.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 1.6 steals while shooting 49.7 percent from the field and 47.4 percent from beyond the arc, per ESPN.

Sixers Finally Land Jaylen Brown Plus Patrick Beverley

With the help of the Timberwolves, the Sixers would finally swap Simmons for Brown. Brown would give the Sixers another young star who would complement Joel Embiid on the court. Unlike Simmons, Brown is capable of knocking down shots from beyond the arc which would allow Embiid to focus more on dominating under the basket.

The Sixers aren't expected to miss Simmons' defense since they would also receive Beverley in the potential deal. Though he's not an All-Star, Beverley is one of the league's best perimeter defenders.

Timberwolves Overhaul Roster In Post KAT-Era

Meanwhile, engaging in a three-team blockbuster trade with the Sixers and the Celtics would make a lot of sense for the Timberwolves if Towns expresses his desire to leave. Instead of keeping an unhappy superstar in Minnesota, the Timberwolves could turn him into a young All-Star in Simmons, three promising prospects in Williams III, Thybulle, and Springer, and a future draft asset.

"Simmons' playmaking could help bring this group together, and he would work some open-court miracles with Edward," Buckley wrote. "Williams could slide into Towns' former spot and inject the middle with defensive versatility and underrated distributing. Matisse Thybulle would give the Wolves one of the most disruptive wing defenders in the Association, while Jaden Springer and the draft pick would give the franchise a couple of long-term wild cards."

Kaley Cuoco In 'The Flight Attendant' Season 2: Conflict With New Cast Member?

Posted: 13 Nov 2021 11:05 AM PST

Kaley Cuoco is currently filming The Flight Attendant season 2 and there are new cast members who will be joining the star.

Cuoco plays troubled flight attendant Cassie Bowden, who got caught up in a murder mystery in the first season.

The HBO Max series was well-received by the public and has a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Thanks to the success of the first season, it didn't take long for the network to renew the show.

Cuoco will be working with new cast members but is there tension on the set?

Scroll down for more on this story.

How Is Cassie Bowden In Season 2?

Last season, Cassie was a bit of a mess. Dealing with a murder mystery and drinking problems simultaneously definitely wasn't easy for her mental health.

According to Cuoco, Cassie will be living a sober life in the upcoming season but will still be dealing with a lot of challenges that come with her new lifestyle.

"She definitely going to be trying to live a sober life while still trying to be who she was," Cuoco said in an interview.

"And I think that's what she's going to struggle with the most. 'Am I the same person I was before? Or are people going to like me? Am I still fun?"

Alanna Ubach Joining Kaley Cuoco In 'The Flight Attendant'

Aside from Cassie's new lease on life, the show will also be adding new characters to the mix.

One of the names that have been confirmed for season 2 is Alanna Ubach, who was seen in Euphoria and Legally Blonde.

She will be playing "Carol Atkinson, also known as Black Market Carol, a perfectly groomed, icy flight attendant who is not a fan of Cassie."

It looks like Cassie will be clashing with this pretty brunette in the upcoming season.

Kaley Cuoco's Relationship With Her Co-stars

While Cassie may have found herself some competition in "Black Market Carol", Kaley Cuoco has no bad blood with her castmates.

In fact, the actress has been actively posting their bonding sessions on Instagram. New additions to the cast include Mo McRae, Callie Hernandez and JJ Soria. Returning are series regulars Zosia Mamet, Griffin Matthews, Deniz Akdeniz and Rosie Perez.

'The Flight Attendant' Season 2 Plot

What's next for Cassie? Reportedly, there will be another murder mystery to solve. Cassie will also be taking a small side gig in the CIA.

"When an overseas assignment leads her to inadvertently witness a murder, she becomes entangled in another international intrigue," according to the streamer.

"We have had a very clear path for what a Season 2 would look like and we know exactly what it'll look like, and we hope we'll get the opportunity to do that," Cuoco shared.

Best Bedtime For A Healthy Heart, According To Study

Posted: 13 Nov 2021 10:35 AM PST

Nothing beats a good quality sleep -- but heart-smart people should also be mindful of the time they go to bed, reveals a new study.

As it turns out, falling asleep past a certain interval can significantly increase your risk of heart disease, researchers from London health tech company Huma have discovered.

Those with an earlier bedtime aren't much better off either, the new study published Tuesday in the European Heart Journal — Digital Health has uncovered. Keep scrolling to find out what the heart-health sweet spot for falling asleep is.

Best Bedtime

According to the new research, the best time to go to sleep heart-health-wise is between 10 and 11 p.m. This goes for both sexes, although there is a bit of a difference -- we'll get into that in a bit. Falling asleep any later, whether it's within an hour or more, increases the cardiovascular risk by different percentages, depending on how late you turn it.

Specifically, a bedtime between 11 and 11:59 p.m. raises the risk of heart disease by 12 percent, with the percentage jumping to 25 for those dozing off at or after midnight. Meanwhile, falling asleep before 10 p.m. ups the cardiovascular risk by 24 percent.

"The body has a 24-hour internal clock, called circadian rhythm, that helps regulate physical and mental functioning," explained neuroscientist David Plans, study co-author and head of research at Huma. "While we cannot conclude causation from our study, the results suggest that early or late bedtimes may be more likely to disrupt the body clock, with adverse consequences for cardiovascular health."

Sleep Data

These results were obtained through an extensive analysis of biomedical data from a little over 88,000 adults with an average age of 61, who were tracked for a period of around six years. The data came from UK Biobank, a biomedical database hosting information about more than 500,000 volunteers aged 37 to 73 and recruited between 2006 and 2010, NBC is reporting.

For the purpose of this study, the authors used data gathered from accelerometers the participants wore on their wrists for seven days, which recorded when they moved and helped gauge their bedtime and waking up schedule.

As the authors point out in their paper, "accelerometers provide an alternative tool for measuring sleep parameters objectively," as opposed to questionnaires, which is the standard method in sleep research.

Women Vs. Men

During the six-year follow-up period, 3.6 percent of volunteers suffered cardiovascular events, such as strokes, heart attacks, or heart failure. According to the study, the highest number of cardiovascular incidents occurred in people falling asleep at midnight or later. Conversely, the lowest number was recorded in those with a 10-10:59 p.m. bedtime.

Interestingly enough, there was a notable difference in the bedtime linked to the greater heart risk for men and women. In women, the cardiovascular risk was higher for volunteers going to bed later. However, in men, the situation was reversed, with the risk being more pronounced in those falling asleep before 10 p.m.

Sleep & Cardiovascular Disease

The findings reinforce the knowledge that sleep is a risk factor in cardiovascular disease, points out Dr. Francoise Marvel, an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore, who was not involved in the study. Just like bedtime, sleep duration is also important, previous research indicates.

According to the American Heart Association, people who sleep less than six hours are at risk for hypertension, which is a major cardiovascular risk factor.

Nevertheless, "there is no evidence to suggest at this point that improving sleep will effectively reduce cardiovascular events," says Marvel, who is co-director of the Johns Hopkins Digital Health Lab.

"Cardiovascular disease (CVD) continues to be the most significant cause of mortality worldwide, with an estimated 18.6 million deaths each year," the Huma researchers write in their paper.

"Evidence suggests circadian rhythm disruption could be an understudied risk factor for CVD, and that prolonged misalignment of circadian rhythms is associated with elevated blood pressure, reduced sleep quality, increased risk for cardiovascular disorders, and may also stimulate atherosclerosis, providing a possible biological mechanism for increased cardiovascular risk," they show in the study.

Eric Adams Urges Fellow Democrats To Condemn BLM Leader

Posted: 13 Nov 2021 10:25 AM PST

Thousands of Americans took to the streets in the summer of 2020, protesting the murder of George Floyd and demanding an end to police brutality.

Floyd was killed by Minnesota Police Department officer Derek Chauvin, who knelt on his neck for more than nine minutes.

There were protests in virtually every major city in the United States, including New York City, where the government disbanded plainclothes units.

NYC Mayor-elect Eric Adams has vowed to bring back the unit, however, prompting criticism from progressive activists.

BLM Leader Slams Adams

Hawk Newsome, the co-founder of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York, slammed Adams for promising to reintroduce plainclothes.

In an interview with New York Daily News, he said that "there will be riots, there will be fire and there will be bloodshed" if Adams follows through.

Newsome said that Adams' promise "made me think about the death of Eric Garner, it made me think about the death of Breonna Taylor, it made me think of the death of George Floyd."

"And to think that Eric Adams is legitimately wanting to put our children in danger -- it scares me," he added.

Adams' Response

Adams said on Friday that he stands by his words, and added that he has "no idea" why Democratic politicians haven't condemned Newsome's remarks.

"I think that this is an excellent moment for the local and state and federal Democratic Party to state: We could have justice without violence," Adams said.

"National, state and city electeds should stand up and say, 'we will never allow anyone to make those comments,' that there will be blood in our streets, because you know where that blood ends up? In the streets of our community," he added.

'Smoke And Mirrors'

Responding to Adams, Newsome said that the mayor-elect should focus on the issue at hand, instead of calling on other Democrats to condemn an activists.

"So he wants to make this a political circus. What I want is to stick to the issue -- what's the plan?" Newsome asked.

Though Adams wants to bring back plainclothes units, he has also said that it is imperative to ensure they aren't staffed with "bad apple" cops.

According to Newsome, the mayor doesn't actually have a real plan.

"Instead of talking about the issues, he is seeking to discredit an organization that has served the community. This is smoke and mirrors to cover up for the fact that he doesn't have an actual articulate plan," he said.

de Blasio Chimes In

Outgoing Mayor Bill de Blasio, who disbanded plainclothes units, said on WNYC's The Brian Lehrer Show that he disagrees with Adams.

"Commissioner Shea -- who has been at this work now for, you know, most of 30 years -- he felt that the unit as constructed was not only creating a disconnect with communities, and ill will and some bad incidents," de Blasio said, as reported by Spectrum News.

"He thought it was also not the best way to get guns off the street and the best way to have successful prosecutions. And he wanted more of those officers in uniform -- same talented officers, doing the work a different way," he added.

Wisconsin National Guard Activated As Kyle Rittenhouse Trial Nears End

Posted: 13 Nov 2021 10:03 AM PST

Seventeen-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse wounded one and killed two people in the streets of Kenosha, Wisconsin on August 25.

The incident was caught on camera, garnering unprecedented attention from members of the press and the American public at large.

Charged with multiple counts of homicide and unlawful possession of a firearm, Rittenhouse claims he acted in self defense when he shot the rioters.

Rittenhouse's trial began earlier this month, and will most likely end next week. The authorities, meanwhile, appear to be bracing for riots.

Read more below.

Wisconsin Activates National Guard

As The New York Post reported, around 500 Wisconsin National Guard troops have been activated in anticipation of unrest.

As Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers explained, the troops will be on standby outside Kenosha and respond "if requested by local law enforcement" in the event of riots or unrest.

Evers added that the troops will be operating "in conjunction with hundreds of officers from volunteering law enforcement agencies."

"We continue to be in close contact with our partners at the local level to ensure the state provides support and resources to help keep the Kenosha community and greater area safe," he said.

More Below

Evers also said that people from other parts of America should cancel any plans to travel to Kenosha, describing the local community as "strong" and "resilient."

"The Kenosha community has been strong, resilient, and has come together through incredibly difficult times these past two years, and that healing is still ongoing," Evers stated.

'I urge folks who are otherwise not from the area to please respect the community by reconsidering any plans to travel there and encourage those who might choose to assemble and exercise their First Amendment rights to do so safely and peacefully," he added.

Mobilizing National Guard

Evers previously mobilized the National Guard in January this year following the Kenosha County District Attorney's announcement that he will not charge Rusten Sheskey, the officer who shot Jacob Blake.

Blake, a 29-year-old black man, was shot in the back seven times, per CNN. Blake survived, but was left paralyzed from the waist down.

The Blake shooting polarized the nation, with some accusing Sheskey of white supremacy and police brutality, and others claiming that the officer was just doing his job and well within his rights to shoot Blake.

Rittenhouse Trial

Rittenhouse's trial has also polarized the public, with liberals demanding Rittenhouse be sentenced and conservatives claiming he acted in self defense.

As The Inquisitr reported, NBA star LeBron James recently made waves when he suggested that Rittenhouse faked crying at his trial to garner sympathy.

"What tears????? I didn't see one. Man knock it off! That boy ate some lemon heads before walking into court," James tweeted.

Conservative politicians, media figures, pundits, and activists were quick to condemn the Los Angeles Lakers' small forward, with some accusing him of bullying a teenager.

Donald Trump Defends Supporters Who Wanted To 'Hang' Mike Pence

Posted: 13 Nov 2021 09:50 AM PST

On January 6 this year, a large group of former President Donald Trump's supporters stormed the United States Capitol building in order to stop the certification of 2020 election results and block Democrat Joe Biden from assuming the presidency.

Incited by Trump's baseless claims that the election was rigged, the violent rioters clashed with security forces and threatened then-Vice President Mike Pence.

Some of them even chanted "hang Mike Pence!" as they stormed the Capitol. According to Trump, that wasn't such a big deal.

Pence's Role

Trump has long claimed that Pence had the authority to overturn election results by sending votes back to states, despite constructional scholars and the former vice president himself saying he had no such powers.

But rioters believed the former president, and were apparently so furious at Pence for certifying Biden's win that they wanted to hang him.

ABC News anchor Jonathan Karl spoke with Trump about these threats against Pence's life. A key part of the conversation was shared this week with the press.

Read more below.

The Interview

As reported by Axios, Karl asked Trump whether he was worried about Pence's safety during the chaotic riots.

"No, I thought he was well-protected, and I had heard that he was in good shape" the former president replied.

"Because you heard those chants -- that was terrible," Karl noted.

"He could have -- well, the people were very angry," Trump countered.

"They were saying 'hang Mike Pence," the reporter pointed out.

Trump then gave a shocking response, appearing to justify the rioters' violent actions.

Transcript below.

Trump's Response

Trump told Karl that "it's common sense, Jon. It's common sense that you're supposed to protect."

"How can you -- if you know a vote is fraudulent, right? -- how can you pass on a fraudulent vote to Congress? How can you do that?" the former president asked.

"And I'm telling you: 50/50, it's right down the middle for the top constitutional scholars when I speak to them. Anybody I spoke to -- almost all of them at least pretty much agree, and some very much agree with me -- because he's passing on a vote that he knows is fraudulent. How can you pass a vote that you know is fraudulent?" he continued.

Pence Distanced Himself From Trump

This summer, Pence distanced himself from Trump.

Speaking at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, the former vice president said he was "proud" to certify Biden's win, per The New York Times.

"I will always be proud that we did our part on that tragic day to reconvene the Congress and fulfilled our duty under the Constitution and the laws of the United States," Pence said.

"The truth is, there is almost no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American president," he added.

'Love Life' Season 2 Finale: Did Marcus Get His Happy Ending?

Posted: 13 Nov 2021 09:20 AM PST

William Jackson Harper has won fans' hearts with his role as Marcus in Love Life and everyone just wants him to have his happy ending.

The second season of the HBO Max series shifted from Darby to Marcus - a 30-something newly-divorced guy who is navigating the dating world again.

With lots of challenges and even a pandemic getting in the way, it wasn't easy for Marcus to find love again. His story's ending isn't the perfect romance but creators thought it was more fitting for the character.

The Character Was Built Around William Jackson Harper

Creator Sam Boyd revealed in an interview that he has always been a fan of William Jackson Harper and built the character around him.

"For me, it really just started with Will. Having that blank slate, we had such a unique opportunity to build this character study around an actor who's really exciting to us." Boyd explained.

Will was actually considered as one of the love interests for Anna Kendrick's Darby in season 1 but they ended up making him the lead in season 2, which worked even better.

Did Marcus And Mia End Up Together?

It took a few episodes for Marcus and Mia to finally get together but their first try at a relationship didn't really last long. Later on, Marcus finds himself reconnecting to Mia again, after some time on his own first.

According to the showrunners, they wanted Marcus to face himself and be alone first and spend time looking inward before taking the next step.

"The ending is fitting because it shows their growth in that love is a choice. Like, you're actively choosing to love your partner and I think it says a lot about Mia's growth."

Darby Makes A Small Appearance

As Marcus and Mia finally make the commitment, Darby makes a small but significant appearance to remind Marcus that everything was going to be fine.

After a time jump, we see Marcus and Mia start their family but the new baby and Marcus' new book make things more complicated. In a fateful encounter, Darby reassures Marcus that "it's all worth it."

Darby's small appearance are the creators' way of giving the audience a feel of the show's "shared universe".
