4 Wrestlers Who Should Have Been WWE Champions

Posted: 07 Nov 2021 04:17 PM PST

The WWE Championship has a long and storied history that dates back over the course of decades. There have been hundreds of WWE superstars who have been deserving of a world championship run. This article will feature four of the most obvious ones who never got the title run they deserved. These four stars had to settle for secondary title reigns or sometimes no title wins at all. In fact a few of the guys on this list could have been huge missed opportunities for Vince McMahon to draw a boatload of cash off of their run at the top.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper

The "Hot Rod" is one of the biggest superstars to never hold the WWE World Championship. There have been rumors that say he was supposed to win the belt from Hulk Hogan until Hogan called off the program because he was worried Piper would not want to return the favor. Regardless of the truth to that or not, it is a shame that one of the greatest heels of the 1980s never got his moment in the spotlight. He was more than deserving of a world title run in most people's minds. He would only ever win Intercontinental and Tag Team gold in WWE.

Scott Hall (Razor Ramon)

The "Bad Guy" is one of the most charismatic performers in not only WWE history but in all of wrestling. The toothpick throw and strut he used to do on his way to the ring is something that is still mimicked today outside of wrestling circles. After his amazing Ladder Match with Shawn Michaels over the Intercontinental Championship, he should have had the rocket strapped to his back. He would have made the perfect heel champion for that era. Next to Piper, he is perhaps the WWE's biggest miss when it comes to wrestlers that never won a World Championship over their career.

Owen Hart

He is one of the most gifted technical wrestlers to ever step foot in not only a WWE ring, but any wrestling ring. Before having his career and life cut short due to gross negligence, Owen Hart delivered every time he stepped foot inside the squared circle. His heel turn on his brother Bret is still one of the most remembered turns in wrestling history. Hart is a guy who should have had at least 1 or 2 runs with the top belt in the company. He could have carried anyone to a decent match and putting the spotlight on him would have shown that he was more than deserving.

Jon Huber (Brodie Lee and Luke Harper)

Much like the last entry, Jon Huber is another man whose life and career were cut entirely too short, although for a completely different reason. Huber was never seen as more than a tag team wrestler and mid-card singles guy in World Wrestling Entertainment. It wasn't until he made the jump to AEW that he looked like a serious world title threat. Sadly just as his career was reaching its peak he got sick and passed away. He is surely a guy that in a different era Vince McMahon would have loved to put the title around his waist.

NBA Rumors: LA Lakers Could Target Kevin Love On Buyout Market

Posted: 07 Nov 2021 04:11 PM PST

The Los Angeles Lakers entered the 2021-22 NBA season as one of the top favorite teams to fully dominate the Western Conference and win the NBA championship title. Unfortunately, despite the addition of a third star this summer, the Lakers are currently not playing like a legitimate title contender in the league.

If they fail to consistently win games, the Lakers are expected to find ways to further improve their current roster. Though they no longer have enough assets to engage in a blockbuster deal, the Lakers could target some of the big names that is set to be available on the buyout market this season.

Kevin Love To Lakers

One of the players that the Lakers could be monitoring on the buyout market is veteran power forward Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers. In a recent article, Jason Reed of Fansided's Lake Show Life included Love on the list of players who the Lakers are hoping to get bought out this season.

With the team currently in the initial phase of the rebuilding process, keeping Love no longer makes any sense for the Cavaliers. Instead of letting him stay in Cleveland for the rest of the season, they are better off letting him go and focus on the development of their young players.

LeBron James Connection

With the presence of LeBron James in Los Angeles, it wouldn't be surprising if the Lakers really consider targeting Love on the buyout market. During their time together in Cleveland, Love and James had formed a strong bond both on and off the court. In the years that they played together, they made four consecutive trips to the NBA Finals and captured the Larry O'Brien Trophy in 2016.

Love and James would definitely love the idea of chasing another NBA championship title before they permanently end their NBA career.

On-Court Impact

Love would be an intriguing addition to the Lakers. He may have shown a massive decline in his performance in the past seasons, but he could still make a huge impact for the Lakers on the offensive end of the floor. He would give them a reliable scoring option behind James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, as well as a great rebounder and a decent floor-spacer.

So far, he has a career average of 17.9 points and 11.0 rebounds on 44.1 percent shooting from the field and 36.9 percent shooting from beyond the arc, per ESPN.

Love's Fit With Davis

The Lakers may currently have a loaded frontcourt, but Love offers a unique skillset that Dwight Howard and DeAndre Jordan don't have. With his ability to space the floor and play the power forward and center positions, Reed believes that Love would form a formidable frontcourt duo with Davis this season.

"Neither Howard nor Jordan have been all that great this year and the less that the team can play them when the games matter the better," Reed wrote. "Love would help accomplish that. The Lakers could play a frontcourt of Davis and Love without sacrificing any real floor spacing as both Davis and Love can stretch the floor."

NBA Rumors: Warriors Should 'Go All-In' For Myles Turner

Posted: 07 Nov 2021 04:05 PM PST

The Golden State Warriors are currently off to a strong start in the 2021-22 NBA season. As of now, the Warriors are on a three-game winning streak, sitting in the No. 1 spot in the Western Conference with a 7-1 record. However, despite having one of the best records in the league, some people think that the Warriors still need more star power on their roster to have a better chance of reaching the NBA Finals and capturing the Larry O'Brien Trophy this season.

Trade For Myles Turner

With the trade assets that they possess, the Warriors would be in a strong position to engage in a blockbuster deal before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. One of the potential trade targets for the Warriors is Myles Turner of the Indiana Pacers. According to Ben Stinar of Sports Illustrated, the Warriors should strongly consider going "all-in" to acquire Turner from the Pacers this season.

"Turner would be a massive upgrade over Looney, and while Wiseman has serious potential, he is just 20-years-old and does not truly fit into the timeline of Curry, Thompson and Green," Stinar wrote.

On-Court Impact

Turner would be a great addition to the Warriors. He may not be considered a legitimate superstar, but he's a solid contributor on both ends of the floor. He would give the Warriors a very reliable scoring option under the basket, a decent rebounder, rim protector, and floor-spacer.

This season, Turner is averaging 14.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks while shooting 54.8 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from beyond the arc, per ESPN. Those numbers are expected to further improve once he gets traded to a team that could give him more playing time and a permanent spot in the starting lineup.

Superteam

The successful acquisition of Turner would undoubtedly boost the Warriors' chances of reclaiming their throne and reviving their dynasty in the 2021-22 NBA season. It would still take time for Turner to familiarize himself with the Coach Steve Kerr's system but once he meshes well with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, the Warriors could form another superteam in Golden State.

The core of Turner, Curry, Thompson, and Green would give them a realistic chance of beating any powerhouse team in a best-of-seven series.

Potential Trade Package

The cost of bringing Turner to Golden State won't be as expensive as targeting Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal, but the Warriors would still need to come up with an intriguing offer to convince the Pacers to make a deal. According to Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report, the Warriors should be willing to sacrifice James Wiseman, the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, if they are serious about acquiring Turner before the 2022 NBA trade deadline.

In the proposed trade scenario, the Warriors would be sending a package that includes Wiseman and Andrew Wiggins to the Pacers in exchange for Turner and Caris LeVert.

NBA Rumors: Proposed Trade Would Send Ben Simmons To Pelicans For Zion Williamson

Posted: 07 Nov 2021 03:59 PM PST

In the past months, rumors have been continuously swirling around All-Star point guard Ben Simmons and his future with the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers are still making efforts to fix the issues with Simmons, but the former No. 1 pick looked determined to leave the City of Brotherly Love.

Despite his shooting woes and current mental state, Simmons is still receiving strong interest from aspiring contenders that need additional star power and rebuilding teams that want to speed up their timeline.

Ben Simmons To Pelicans

One of the most intriguing trade partners for the Sixers in the potential blockbuster deal involving Simmons is the New Orleans Pelicans. In a recent article, Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report included the Pelicans on the list of teams that need to trade for Simmons the most before the 2022 NBA trade deadline.

The Pelicans may currently have Zion Williamson as the face of the franchise but if his growing unhappiness with the team leads to trade demand, Hughes suggested that New Orleans could use him as the main trade chip to acquire Simmons from the Sixers.

Swap Makes Sense For The Pelicans

Aside from his growing unhappiness with the team, Hughes cited other major reasons why trading Williamson for Simmons would make a lot of sense for the Pelicans.

"The longer Williamson sits out and the more the losses mount, the greater the need for change," Hughes wrote. "Simmons is far from a perfect fit in New Orleans for a multitude of reasons, but he's an available star on a long-term contract. Measured against a potential best-case scenario in which Williamson gets healthy and leaves via free agency or trade demand, Simmons starts to look pretty good."

New Face Of Pelicans' Franchise

Simmons would be an interesting replacement for Williamson in New Orleans. Like Williamson, Simmons was also a former No. 1 pick. He may still have some major flaws in his game, but no one can deny the fact that he has a huge potential to become a legitimate superstar in the league.

Though it wouldn't put him closer to winning his first NBA championship title, Simmons would definitely love the idea of being traded to the Pelicans. Unlike in Philadelphia where he's only viewed as Joel Embiid's sidekick, Simmons would have his own team in New Orleans.

Williamson A Better Trade Chip

The proposed blockbuster deal would also be worth exploring for the Sixers. When he's 100 percent healthy, Williamson could provide more impact on the Sixers' offense than Simmons. There also wouldn't be a problem if the Sixers decide to stick with Tobias Harris as their starting power forward.

Compared to Simmons, Williamson is a more attractive trade chip. By making him the centerpiece of their trade offer, the Sixers would have a better chance of landing Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal should their teams decide to make them available on the trading block.

Posted: 07 Nov 2021 11:17 AM PST

Alexandra Daddario was all legs and toned back in a stunning, ocean-view snap as she reminded her Instagram followers she rarely stays in one place for long. The White Lotus actress, 35, made 2020 and 2021 headlines for shooting the HBO series she stars on in Hawaii, but she's been jet-setting around Europe, too, and soaking up the Mediterranean sunshine.

Posting to Instagram this fall, the blue-eyed beauty shared photos from her Greece travels, although this particular shot definitely wasn't a posed one. Daddario didn't even show her face.

It's The Greek Life

Scroll for the photo. Daddario, who spent mid-October in glitzy Paris, France and shared a stunning Eiffel Tower snap to mark the travels, was a little farther South later in the month.

The Baywatch bombshell, who hit up Greece with boyfriend Andrew Form, shared a photo of herself traversing a sea-view terrace, one shouting out Greek architecture via its molded and curved whitewash stone walls. Alexandra was in a skimpy, lime-green and backless sundress, one boasting criss-cross back straps - she paired the cute dress with white sneakers.

See The Photo Below

Also rocking a fuss-free bun and hints of shades as she carried a blue jacket, Alexandra tagged herself in super-romantic Santorini, Greece, but she left fans wanting more with a blank caption.

Over 627,000 likes have been left, with fans sending heart and heart-eye emoji. Alexandra has since updated in a series of headline-making looks not limited to her Alo Yoga underpants snaps, sizzling Versace dress, plus a slit dress she joked is her dog's bed. Scroll for more photos after the Greece snap.

Stuns In Versace

More recently, Daddario has been upping her designer game, joining the slew of celebrities wearing luxury Italian label Versace. Posting to Instagram on October 22, the Clinique face rocked the V monogram in a night-time snap, shouting out In Style magazine and even gushing that her shoes matched her dress.

The True Detective alum has also been opening up on life and getting dolled up after well over a year in pandemic sweats and leggings. Well, pajamas, to be precise. More below.

After The 'Pajamas' Year

In September of this year, Alexandra opened up to In Style about her lifestyle, living in NYC, and the sheer "fun" of dressing up after 2020/2021's mess.

"I try to get a good night's sleep and then run all my errands around NYC before letting my makeup and hair artists play around with something fun," she said, adding: "Getting dressed up is fun and I appreciate that more than ever after the year of 'why bother getting out of pajamas?'" Anna Kendrick Shares Crazy Audition Story That Almost Landed Her In 'Dateline'

Posted: 07 Nov 2021 10:26 AM PST

Anna Kendrick stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show to promote the second season of Love Life. During her chat with Clarkson, Kendrick shared a crazy story about her days auditioning as a teen.

Kendrick got candid about the lengths she would go to for an audition. In one particular instance, she almost got herself in grave danger just to land a role.

Scroll down to see what Kendrick had to go through.

Travelling To New York For Auditions

Kendrick shared that when she was 12 years old, she went to a New York audition unaccompanied by her parents.

According to Anna, they lived in Maine and her parents had a full-time job. Driving her to auditions became unsustainable, so at one point she started going on her own.

She was with her brother who was only 14 years old. The two minors rode a Greyhound bus to get to Anna's audition in New York.

"Not a Dateline special in the waiting at all!" Clarkson joked.

"Home Alone" Experience In New York

Kendrick continued telling the story, saying the panel in the audition invited her to come back the next day. She had a "Home Alone in NY" moment and had to stay in a hotel with her brother, unaccompanied by their parents.

"My parents faxed a copy of a credit card to a hotel and they were like 'Our children will be checking in and we'll be along shortly'", Kendrick shared.

The next day, she had to go back to the audition and pretend that she was a totally "normal" person who lived in NY.

Broadway Star At 12 Years Old

The audition was for the role of Dinah Lord in 1998 Broadway musical High Society. Kendrick actually got the part, which landed her a nomination for a Tony award. At just 12 years old, she was the third-youngest nominee of all time.

Clarkson asked if she would allow her future kids to do the kinds of things she did as a teenager, to which Anna replied:

"Maybe I would be the kind of person who would be like 'Have fun, sweetie! Bye, good luck!"

Anna's Upcoming Musical Projects

While Anna hasn't been back on Broadway since High Society, she has had several roles where she gets to showcase her amazing voice.

She will be reprising her role as Queen Poppy in Trolls Holiday in Harmony, which will be aired on NBC on November 26th. Fans are also crossing their fingers for a fourth installment of Pitch Perfect.

Sixers News: Coach Doc Rivers Cites Two Major Reasons Sixers Brought Seth Curry To Philadelphia

Posted: 07 Nov 2021 09:16 AM PST

Veteran shooting guard Seth Curry continues to prove that the Philadelphia 76ers made the right decision to trade Josh Richardson to acquire him from the Dallas Mavericks in the summer of 2020. In nine games he played with the Sixers in the 2021-22 NBA season, he is averaging 17.8 points and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 61.6 percent from the field and 53.1 percent from beyond the arc, per ESPN.

As of now, most people would agree that Curry is one of the main reasons why the Sixers are in the No. 1 spot in the Eastern Conference with a 7-2 record.

Seth Curry's Recruitment

Curry arrived in Philadelphia a month after his father-in-law, Doc Rivers, was named as the new Sixers head coach. However, Rivers didn't recruit him just because he's his daughter's husband. After the Sixers defeated the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night, Rivers explained why they decided to pursue Curry during the 2020 NBA offseason.

"We started talking about him and I kept saying 'We need another playmaker here'," Rivers said, as quoted by Ky Carlin of Sixers Wire. "Seth's a playmaker. He's a great shooter, but he's a playmaker and he's done that for us."

Curry In 2020 NBA Playoffs

Rivers and Curry only started working together in the City of Brotherly Love, but the 60-year-old mentor has been aware of the veteran shooting guard's potential even if he's just watching him as a member of the opposing team. Rivers revealed that he became more impressed with Curry when his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers, faced the Dallas Mavericks in the 2020 NBA Playoffs.

In the best-of-seven series between the Clippers and the Mavericks that lasted six games, Curry averaged 12.8 points while shooting 58.5 percent from the field and 47.6 percent from beyond the arc.

Making Curry A Starter

Unlike his former teams that only viewed him as a bench player, Curry is an official member of the Sixers' starting lineup since last season. Rivers said that they made Curry a starter because he fits well with the face of the franchise, Joel Embiid.

"We saw him as a starter because of his shooting," Rivers said. "You play him with Joel Embiid and we just thought that combination was a good combination. JJ Redick was a great starter with Joel so when you put a shooter like that next to Joel, you become a great shooter."

Historical Record

Despite his impressive performance, Seth is still not viewed on the same level as his older brother, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry. However, Seth is currently on pace for a historical record even Stephen is yet to achieve. If he becomes consistent with his performance until the end of the 2021-22 NBA season, Curry could become the first player in NBA history to average 15 points on 60.0 percent shooting the field and 50.0 percent from the three-point range, according to StatMuse on Twitter.

Inside Miley Cyrus' 'Exuberant' $7.2 Million Los Angeles Home

Posted: 07 Nov 2021 08:52 AM PST

Miley Cyrus' Los Angeles home is a perfect reflection of her personality. Decorated by her mother, Tish Cyrus, the 6,800-square-foot Hidden Hills residence is the ultimate rockstar-worthy oasis, boasting a psychedelic-themed music studio, a powder room covered in Gucci tiger-face wallpaper, and a lagoon-style swimming pool like you'd typically see in meditation resorts.

Although the former Disney Channel star, 28, owned the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom house only for a year, selling it earlier this summer, she has certainly left her mark on the place, described by Architectural Digest as "beautifully boisterous" -- "much like Miley herself."

Scroll for photos!

Decorated By Her Mom

Miley, who bought the house in July 2020, a few weeks after her breakup from ex-boyfriend Cody Simpson, didn't hesitate for one second to enlist her interior designer mom's help with decorating the place.

"My mom's best quality as a mom and as an interior designer is her understanding and non-judgment," the pop star told Architectural Digest back in April when the magazine did a spread on the 1.2-acre property.

"Anything I dream she will create into a reality, even if it isn't her style," Miley added. "She designs for her kids -- I am not the only one that uses my mom as an interior designer, all five of us do -- the same way she nurtures us. She just wants what's best for us, creating spaces that reflect us is what's best for our mental health, our creativity, our songwriting."

Photos shared on Tish's Instagram at the time revealed she had no trouble putting aside her usual "boho chic" tastes to embrace Miley's rock 'n' roll aesthetic and create a colorful living space bursting with personality.

"My biggest thing is that when you walk into someone's house, I want you to know who lives there, what their personality is, what they love, and what they're like. I know Miley so well, and we're so close, so I was really able to do that," said the 54-year-old TV personality, who worked with design partner Mat Sanders on the project.

'Merry Maximalism'

Steeped in Miley's signature brand of luxury maximalism, the star's former Los Angeles abode comes with an imposing "dark and moody" master bedroom complete with a walk-in closet and fireplace, a primary bathroom inspired by Amangiri, and a vibrant glam room papered in ocelot print.

Within the black exterior, the "alternatively trippy and understated" house provides an "Alice-in-Wonderland-level sensory experience" that is particularly pregnant in Miley's studio. The psychedelic ceiling, painted by Brian Robles, is artfully mirrored by patterned throw pillows lining the somber couch, with a yellow polka-dot armchair and bright neon signs adding to the room's kaleidoscopic vibe.

Elsewhere in the home, designer furniture infuses elegance into the living space, brought to life by eccentric accessories such as drippy pastel sculptures by Dan Lam, a cartoonish still life painting by Takashi Murakami, and a wall hanging of Henri Matisse's "Blue Nude III."

A technicolor bookshelf by Ettore Sottsass and a vibrating mouth-shaped chair with a wiggling tongue complete the "exuberant" décor, labeled by Architectural Digest as "merry maximalism."

"We tried to keep the actual structure of the house simple, so that the furniture, the heart, the accessories, the photographs, they can really talk," Miley told the magazine.

Favorite Room

Built in 1957, the clapboard house has been completely reimagined by Miley and her ace interior design team, with older photos showing the great extent of the remodel.

The house features plenty of garden space, as well as an open-air pavilion that houses an outdoor kitchen. Among the exterior amenities is a concrete patio engulfing the swimming pool and a backyard luxe cabana that doubles as a home theater.

However, the room that Tish enjoyed remodeling the most is the sophisticated sitting room that greets guests as they walk in. Painted in Benjamin Moore's smoky Soot color and decorated with custom lounge chairs surrounding a Lawson Fenning coffee table beneath a Blackman Cruz steel Monumental chandelier, the room is "a vibe."

"This is definitely my favorite room in the whole house," said the interior designer, who is also Miley's manager. "I just knew it needed to feel moody and like you want to go in there."

Scroll through the embed below to see some of the impressive interiors.

'Reflection Of My Gender'

One thing that is clear from her Architectural Digest interview is that Mileys sees herself in the space that she and her mom have created.

"One of the things that I love most about my house is that even though there are these flamboyant colors, there is also something that is heavy and more masculine in some spaces. I think it's just a reflection of my gender," said the "Wrecking Ball" singer.

Miley continued: "My outdoor space does that also. There's something that's kind of feminine with all the landscaping. But again, the crushed velvet [in the cabana] reminds me of something that Jimi Hendrix would've had."

The musician and actress acquired her Southern California home for $4.9 million last summer, flipping it for $7.2 million in June.

Miley also owns a $3.9 million mansion in Studio City and a $5.8 million farmhouse-style ranch in Franklin, Tennessee.

Miley Cyrus Shows Off Gucci Sneakers In Skimpy Underwear

Posted: 07 Nov 2021 12:07 AM PDT

Miley Cyrus is proudly showing off her Gucci sneakers in skimpy black undies - and a tank top she's straight-up removed. The 28-year-old singer, making 2021 headlines as she fronts Gucci's fragrance campaigns, is fresh from an Instagram update shouting out the luxury designer, and it was an eye-catching affair for her 151 million followers.

Posting ahead of the weekend, the "Slide Away" singer stripped down to a blank tank top and matching briefs, plus the footwear she was flaunting, also braving a naughty topless snap.

Gucci Gains In Her Undies

Scroll for the photos, ones definitely showing off the former Hannah Montana star's toned workout body. Miley had posed from inside a closet filled with rows of boots, plus the glittery '80s-style Gucci dress donned in a recent Instagram share.

Proudly standing with her hands on her hips and slightly grasping her briefs, the "Prisoner" hit-maker flashed her rock-hard abs while in her Gucci dad sneakers, also holding a loud gold-metallic purse. "The shoe that sold itself," the singer captioned her gallery.

See The Photos Below

Miley, driving her fans to swipe, followed with her signature lip raise as she posed still in the closet. The daughter to Billy Ray Cyrus, better showing off the kinda old-looking footwear, then big-time upped the ante, losing her tank altogether and cupping her bare chest while looking downwards. Giant bouffant hair and the star's tattoos, plus her red nails, completed the look.

Miley's Instagram posts do not go unnoticed, especially when she's nearly all flesh. See more after the snaps, where you can swipe.

Fronting Gucci

Miley has joined the slew of celebrities fronting designer brands - "Don't Call Me Angel" collaborator Ariana Grande is the face of Givenchy, with Canadian pop icon Justin Bieber now fronting Spanish luxury brand Balenciaga.

Cyrus is, however, fresh from stating that she wanted the folks in charge at Gucci against hiring her. "I had on these glasses and, like, a big Gucci hat and all black and I was telling him, 'You know, I always know when something is right for me and I don't think I'm the right girl. I think you made a mistake," Miley told Interview Mag.

Miley continued: "I don't think that I represent the Flora Fantasy. I think I'm very heavy.'"

The singer did seem to have a change of heart, though. "There was so much darkness and there was so much heaviness and it was right in the middle of the pandemic and the protest and the politics of it all," she said, concluding:

"We were right in the middle of presidential campaigns and it was so heavy. The Flora Fantasy was truly an escape for myself at the time and I think it will be for everyone."

NFL Rumors: Broncos Would Have Drafted Micah Parsons If They Didn't Pick Patrick Surtain II

Posted: 06 Nov 2021 09:14 PM PDT

Week 9 of the 2021 NFL season would be featuring the matchup between two of the top defensive rookies in the league - Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons and Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II. Since the season started, Parsons, who was selected No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and Surtain II, the No. 9 pick, continue to prove that they deserve to be lottery selections last summer.

With their explosive performance this season, it wouldn't be surprising if Parsons and Surtain II become frontrunners to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award.

Broncos Explored Drafting Micah Parsons

As of now, the Cowboys and the Broncos seem happy with their decision to select Parsons and Surtain II in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, it was recently revealed that they were also considering other options last offseason. Had the Carolina Panthers took Surtain II at No. 8, Broncos head coach Vic Fangio revealed that they would have drafted Parsons at No. 9.

"We really liked (Parsons)," Fangio said, as quoted by Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post. "If we didn't take Pat, he was a guy that was right there for us."

Cowboys Plan A Before Drafting Micah Parsons

The Broncos weren't the only ones who explored other options in the 2021 NFL Draft. While Denver's No. 1 choice at No. 9 was Surtain II, Parsons wasn't really at the top of the Cowboys' draft board in the last offseason. Before they selected Parsons, the Cowboys were hoping that either Surtain II or Jaycee Horn would be available at No. 10.

However, after Horn and Surtain II were picked by the Panthers and the Broncos, respectively, the Cowboys traded the No. 10 pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for the No. 12 pick, which they used to draft Parsons, and a third-round pick.

Broncos GM George Paton Impressed By Patrick Surtain II

Surtain II still has plenty of things that he needs to work on his game but as of now, Broncos GM George Paton said that he's impressed with what he's seeing with their rookie cornerback.

"Pat -- I've been really impressed," Paton said, as quoted by Jeff Legwold of ESPN. "He's a pro. He keeps getting better every week. I think he's going to be one of the better corners in the league. I haven't wavered off that. ... For a rookie he doesn't get frazzled, that's what I like about him."

Micah Parsons A Perfect Fit With Cowboys

So far, Parsons has shown everyone in the league why the Cowboys shouldn't regret not being able to draft Surtain II or Horn in the 2021 NFL Draft. Parsons may not be their top target last summer, but Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy believes that they found a player who perfectly fits their system.

"An impact player," McCarthy said of Parsons. "He fits in great with our defensive philosophy and how we want to play defense."

Though he's not their No. 1 option, McCarthy revealed that the Cowboys ranked Parsons as the "top defensive player in the draft."
