Twin Updates! Bryan Greenberg and Jamie Chung's Twins Meet Grandparents, Sexes Revealed Posted: 06 Nov 2021 06:12 PM PDT ![]() Double the fun. Jamie Chung and Bryan Greenberg both shared updates about their twins on Saturday, November 6. The couple, who married in October 2015, took to Instagram to reveal some news. “It's been really sweet to have both sets of grandparents meet the babies this week,” Chung, 38, captioned an Instagram photo of her family gazing lovingly at the newborns, who were laying on a pillow. ![]() The Dexter actress, who was candid about the egg freezing and family planning process, also noted that she’d received some baby presents recently, including books from Scribd and shoes from DSW. Greenberg, 42, shared a snap of the two pairs of tiny Timberland boots. “My boys will be ready for NYC,” he captioned the photo via his Instagram story. That’s the first time either Chung or Greenberg has noted the babies’ sex. ![]() Based on his caption, it seems Greenberg is ready to take his twin boys to New York City. The Nebraska native moved to Manhattan in 1996 when he started college at New York University. He and Chung split their time between Los Angeles and New York, so the babies will be bicoastal. The It’s Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong stars, who started dating in early 2012, never revealed they were expecting new additions. Instead, the One Tree Hill alum announced the arrival of their twins on October 24 with a simple video showing the babies on his chest. "We got double the trouble now @jamiejchung On October 27, the Once Upon a Time alum shared a snap of one of her sons rising on her chest, simply captioning it, “x 2.” An insider told Us Weekly earlier this month that the new parents are thrilled with their growing family. "Both Bryan and Jamie have their hands full and are busy with their new little ones but are loving it and are very excited for this adventure," a source exclusively told Us at the time. The insider also noted that the Real World alum "will still be taking on acting roles," adding, "She flew to New York for a day to go to the Dexter premiere [on Monday, November 1], and flew back home. She wants to be part of the twins' life as much as possible in their early stages!" |
Stelena Forever! Nina Dobrev Sees 'Vampire Diaries' Costar Paul Wesley 'A Lot' Posted: 06 Nov 2021 05:00 PM PDT ![]() Undying friendship! The Vampire Diaries stars Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley still see each other regularly despite the show ending in 2017. While answering Google autocomplete questions, the Canadian, 32, found people were looking up: “Are Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley still friends?” The star of Netflix’s Love Hard was happy to answer affirmatively. “Yes, my friends. I would like to report that the Dubs and I are homies,” she told Wired in an interview published Tuesday, November 2. Not only are they still friendly, but the two actually make time to see each other. The Brother’s Bond Bourbon cofounder, who married Ines de Ramon in 2019, hangs out with his former onscreen flame and his real life spouse. Even their dogs are buddies. “I love his wife. My dog and his dog play like best friends that have known each other forever,” Dobrev said. “And I actually see him a lot. Love that guy.” Though Dobrev left The Vampire Diaries in 2015 (and returned for the 2017 series finale), she still isn’t going to answer the age-old question: Stefan or Damon? Her character, Elena, was caught in a love triangle between the vampire brothers, and while Damon (Ian Somerhalder) ultimately won her heart, Dobrev still doesn’t want to offend her passionate fans. “You know I’m not gonna answer [that question] because I don’t want to alienate half of my amazing, loving fans,” the Fresh Vine Wines cofounder said. ![]() Though Wesley and Dobrev are on great terms now, they didn’t bond right away on the Atlanta set of TVD. The Degrassi alum, who is now dating Shaun White, opened up about their tension while on a June 2019 episode of Candice King and Kayla Ewell's "Directionally Challenged" podcast. "Paul and I didn't get along at the beginning of the show. I respected Paul Wesley, I didn't like Paul Wesley," the actress recalled at the time. "I remember everyone would walk up to me after the show aired and they'd be like, 'Are you and Paul dating in real life?' Everyone thought that we had such good chemistry. I realize now that there's a fine line between love and hate and we despised each other so much that it read as love but … We really just didn't get along the first five months of shooting." She added that they eventually got over their differences and wound up being the closest of the main cast members. “We ended up getting to a good place and it was fine,” Dobrev added. “Of everyone, I think I probably see him the most and hang out with him the most. We're probably the closest. We hang out a lot. We're really good friends. I love his wife. It's so funny how time changes everything because I never thought he would be one of my best friends.” |
Robert Downey Jr. Shares ‘Eternal Vow’ to Wife Susan Downey on Her Birthday Posted: 06 Nov 2021 02:21 PM PDT ![]() A gushing tribute! Robert Downey Jr. penned a thoughtful birthday message to wife Susan Downey with one specific caveat included. "Adjusting the halo on my heaven sent partner," the Iron Man star, 56, tweeted on Saturday, November 6, alongside a snap of the married couple. "Mrs D … you are my everything, and November 6th, Always a day of gratitude, for your blessed birth." He then added a postscript in his message: "I will never watch ahead on a co-viewed streaming show … That is my eternal vow." The Avengers: Endgame actor wed the producer, 48, in August 2005 before welcoming son Exton, 9, and daughter Avri, 7. (The New York native also shares son Indio, 28, with ex Deborah Falconer.) The Sherlock Holmes star previously confirmed in July 2014 that they were expecting their second child together, his third. "Um. I don't know if it's a 'man's world,' but I'm certain women run it," he wrote via Facebook at the time. "Susan and I are therefore delighted to announce we are expecting a baby. Girl. November. rdj." Upon Avri's birth that November, the accomplished actor couldn't help but gush over his partner's delivery and their new bundle of joy.
"After 9 months of intensive development, Team Downey is pleased to announce our 2014 fall/winter project," he wrote via Facebook in November 2014. "Principal photography commenced 11-14 and will continue until she says, 'Dad! You are embarrassing me…I'm 30, this has gotta stop.' Yep… Avri Roel Downey joined the party @ 3:22 a.m. on November 4th… she's 7lbs even, spans 20 inches, and is accompanied by a variety of Susan's traits that have seemingly overwritten my 'junk DNA.' I'll post pics here + there when I'm not too busy staring." Two years earlier, the pair welcomed son Exton, and the actor opened up about his desire to be a good father during an April 2012 interview with Esquire. "Does any new parent, even if you're not a first-time parent, ever really know what to do?" he told the outlet at the time, shortly after Exton was born. "Only thing you have to do, the only requirement, if you can hack it, is to not transfer your own discomfort in the moment to this fresh soul, right?… You got to be mindful." The couple initially met on a film set in 2003, and the Judge star attempted to ask out the producer three times before she eventually agreed. "We were up in Montreal prepping for Gothika, and we had lunch with the director and Halle Berry," Susan recalled her first impression of the actor to the Hollywood Reporter in October 2014. "Everybody else ordered Japanese, but Robert told us how oatmeal was the 'superfood.' He brought his own packets of oatmeal to have at lunch. And he had this box of various herbs and stuff. And then he started doing these yoga moves. I mean, he was interesting but weird." |
Pamela Anderson and Ex Tommy Lee Reunite at Son Brandon’s Fashion Event Posted: 06 Nov 2021 02:15 PM PDT Talk about a whirlwind! Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson tied the knot after being together for just four days — and their relationship was anything but a breeze. The twosome met in December 1994 and took a vacation to Cancún six weeks later. Only 96 hours into their getaway, they got married, but their carefree romance quickly soured when they returned to California. In 1995, Rand Gauthier, a scorned electrician who was fired from a job at the Mötley Crüe artist's home, stole a sex tape that the couple made while staying on a houseboat at Lake Mead. While the footage wasn't able to spread around the internet like it would have today, copies were available for purchase — and viewed by thousands. Anderson and Lee filed a $10 million lawsuit to attempt to prevent the tape from being published, but the suit was eventually dropped. Two decades after its release, the Baywatch star admitted she'd "never seen" the tape. "I made not one dollar. It was stolen property. We made a deal to stop all the shenanigans," she said during a 2015 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. Five years later, she clarified during another conversation with Andy Cohen that it wasn't a sex tape, but was instead "a compilation of vacations that we were naked on." Before they called it quits in 1998, the former couple welcomed sons Brandon and Dylan. The drama surrounding their infamous video put a strain on their relationship. "Not being able to do anything … about [the tape] was adding so much frustration and stress to our relationship," Lee said during a 2014 episode of 20/20. "It was just consuming us." Tensions quickly escalated between the pair, and in 1998, the rocker was arrested after an altercation with his then-wife. He was sentenced to six months in prison after pleading no contest to felony spousal battery. "I couldn’t understand why Pamela had followed through with pressing charges,” Lee wrote in his band's 2001 memoir, The Dirt. “She was probably scared and thought I was some crazy, violent monster; she probably thought she was doing the right thing for the kids; and she probably wanted an easy way out of a difficult situation. As much as I loved Pamela, she had a problem dealing with things." In 2008, the duo decided to give their romance its "801[st]" try, with the "Sunday" artist telling Rolling Stone that Anderson and their sons had moved back in with him. However, the reunion was short-lived, and the twosome split for good in 2010. Anderson was also married to Kid Rock from 2006 to 2007, and to Rick Salomon from 2007 to 2008 (and again from 2014 to 2015). She fell into a whirlwind romance with Jon Peters in 2020, and although there were rumors of a marriage, Us Weekly reported in February 2020 that they never obtained a marriage license. She wed Dan Hayhurst in December 2020. Lee, for his part, was married to Elaine Starchuk from 1984 to 1985 and Heather Locklear from 1986 to 1993. In 2019, he wed Brittany Furlan. "If y'all aint figured it out by now why I've been isolating in this crazy awesome Airstream of mine, let me help y'all out by saying I've been fighting off COVID-19. and I have to let y'all know it has been quite a battle. And as in any war, ALL is fair," the 65-year-old wrote in a Facebook post as he shared a negative test result. "And IN the middle of this epic battle I've come to the conclusion that there aint a whole heck of a lot one can do externally, to fight off COVID-19 once it has gotten into your body. This is my personal opinion, definitely not the conclusion of some scientific study. The real battle takes place internally, on a cellular level." The Walking Dead alum wrote that he "made the decision not to take any extra medicines or vitamins or supplements." "I felt that if my immune system was not already prepared for this battle loading up with all this extra stuff would only do me damage as kidneys and liver would have been gravely stressed," he continued. "In the process of fighting off COVID-19, I could feel and see the results of those daily battles, by how I felt and looked the next day. I was either feeling like crap, or pretty dang good, semi human in fact. So, just so y'all know the end result of all those daily battles has come to an end. My body has won the WAR! Maria Shriver Tells Chris Pratt to ‘Rise Above Noise’ After Online Criticism Posted: 06 Nov 2021 12:40 PM PDT ![]() Supportive family. After the ongoing criticism following Chris Pratt's online tribute to wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, his mother-in-law has shared her support for the Marvel actor. "I want to remind you today what a good man you are," Maria Shriver commented on his original Instagram post on Saturday, November 7. "What a great father you are to Jack [his son with ex-wife Anna Faris] and Lyla [his daughter with Schwarzenegger], what a great husband you are to Katherine [and] what a great son in law you are to me and what a great sense of humor you have!!" The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement founder, 66, added in her post, "I love you Chris, keep being your wonderful self, rise above the noise. Your kids love [you,] your family loves you [and] your wife loves you. What a beautiful life, I'm proud of you xo." The Parks and Recreation alum, 42, previously shared a gushing tribute to his wife on Wednesday, November 3, writing, "Guys. For real. Look how she's looking at me! I mean. Find you somebody that looks at you like that!! You know!? We met in church. She's given me an amazing life, a gorgeous healthy daughter, she chews so loudly that sometimes i put in my ear buds to drown it out, but that's love!" He continued at the time, "She helps me with everything. In return, periodically, I open a jar of pickles. That's the trade. Her heart is pure and it belongs to me. My greatest treasure right next to my Ken Griffey Jr Upper Deck Rookie card. Which if you know, you know is saying a lot. It's her birthday in about 6 weeks. So if I don't get her anything, I'll tell her to look back on this post. Love you honey. At the time, his better half chimed in, commenting, "Oh wow. It's only when I'm eating CEREAL but i love you," while her brother Patrick Schwarzenegger added, " Shriver initially posted a sweet response of her own, commenting, "This is so sweet now show us how you look at her," and “I can't agree more! Shortly after Pratt posted his reflective Instagram message, several social media users started criticizing him, thinking his message about having a "gorgeous healthy daughter" was a dig at Faris — with whom he was married to from 2009 to 2018 — and their 9-year-old son Jack, who was born with several health conditions. Jack was born premature, nine weeks early. "He was three pounds, 12 ounces," the actor recalled at the March of Dimes Celebration of Babies Hollywood Luncheon in December 2014. "Anna got to hold him for a moment and then it was off to the NICU — the neonatal intensive care unit. Three pounds, 12 ounces. That's a decent size bass. Very small for a human. He would need a lot. He had jaundice, so they put a blindfold on him and he slept beneath [a] creepy light and he had a PICC line, which is an IV that runs up his arm into his heart. He had a feeding tube and just wires in and out, and he lived in that incubator. That was his first crib." He continued in his speech, "He was hooked up to these monitors and to us it meant that the machine started beeping because he stopped breathing over and over. … My little boy was laying across my neck and chest feeling my heartbeat and feeling my love, and I played him country music and I sang to him and I made him promises just about what kind of dad I wanted to be, and I just prayed that he'd be here long enough and he was going to let me keep him." Faris’ name trended on Twitter earlier this week about his post. One year after he split from Faris, 44, the Guardians of the Galaxy star later started dating the Gift of Forgiveness author in 2018, one year after he split from the Mom alum. After a whirlwind six-month engagement, the couple tied the knot in June 2019. They later announced they were expecting their first child together in April 2020, and daughter Lyla was born four months later. |
Hallmark Channel Stars’ Dating Histories: Candace Cameron Bure and More Posted: 06 Nov 2021 12:00 PM PDT They love love! Hallmark Channel is known for its romantic movies, and the actors who star in them hold special places in fans' hearts. Watching them find their happy endings over and over again on screen makes viewers wonder what their personal lives are like off screen. Candace Cameron Bure, for her part, met her soulmate when she was young, marrying Valeri Bure in June 1996 when she was 20. She has since opened up about the keys to their lasting relationship. "We're apart a lot," the actress exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2018. "Because I travel a lot, that's the secret! Because, you know, being away from each other makes the heart grow fonder." Candace also noted that respect goes a long way in a marriage. "You really try to, I always say, put your spouse on a pedestal," she added. "And in return, you're hoping, which my husband does, we have the same respect for one another … and some days neither of us deserve it, but we do it because we honor one another and respect each other. You hang in there, you're always going to come back on the upswing if you're in a low spot." While the Full House alum once thought distance was important to keep the romance alive, she changed her mind during the quarantine caused by the coronavirus pandemic. "When you're all in a house together for [over a year], you have to start talking about the things you kind of avoid because of work and travel and all that stuff," she told Us in April 2021. "We just pushed through some of the things that were eating away at both of us." Although the process was not easy, it yielded positive results. "There's hurt feelings for a minute. And then there's pouting for a minute and there's anger for a minute. And then you kind of go, well, 'How are we going to figure it out? And what decisions are we going to make? How do we come to a compromise in a way that you feel good?'" the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries star continued. "So, that's just what we did. And that's what marriage is really all about, but it was kind of thrown in your face during quarantine." While Candace seems to be on solid footing in her real-life relationship, she is looking to make a change in her Hallmark Channel romances by not waiting until the end of her movies to kiss her costars. "I just feel like we've done so many where we wait till the end," she explained to Us in August 2021. "I just think that we got to sneak one in and then maybe that's where it's like, 'Oh, maybe it didn't work!' But no, it really does work by the end of it!" 8 Dead After Travis Scott's Astroworld Tragedy: What to Know So Far Posted: 06 Nov 2021 11:56 AM PDT During Travis Scott's 2021 Astroworld Festival, at least eight attendees were pronounced dead and more injured after a crowd rushed the stage. While the 29-year-old "Sicko Mode" rapper performed in Houston, Texas, on Friday, November 5, the crowd surged forward and caused a mass accident. "This is a tragic night," Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña said during a news conference early on Saturday, November 6. "We know that we had at least at least 8 confirmed fatalities tonight and we had scores of individuals that were injured here in this event." Peña noted that nearly 50,000 individuals attended the music festival, explaining that around 9:00 p.m. the crowd had "began to compress toward the front of the stage," which caused panic and injuries. "At the start of the mass casualty incident, when it was triggered … We transferred 17 patients to the hospital," Peña added at the time. "We won't know the cause of death of the eight that were confirmed until the medical examiner has completed his investigation, but we are in the process — Houston Police Department — is sending units to the hospitals to identify these patients." The incident took place at the sold-out outdoor festival, which was held at NRG Park. The crowd surge “was from panic because people were running for safety,” a source close to the investigation tells Us Weekly. “The quick response from Astroworld security and staff on site undoubtedly saved even more people from being hurt or worse." During the show, Scott paused his performance multiple times to ask what had happened. "He asked for everybody in the area to go help them and bring them to the front," an insider told Us. "As soon as they were made aware of what was happening, they ended the performance in the interest of public safety.” The event's official social media page shared a statement of support early on Saturday, writing, "Our hearts are with the Astroworld Festival family tonight — especially those we lost and their loved ones. We are focused on supporting local officials however we can." In the statement, it was confirmed that the festival's Saturday lineup had been canceled. "As authorities mentioned in their press conference earlier, they are looking into the series of cardiac arrests that took place," the social media statement read. "Thank you to our partners at the Houston Police Department, Fire Department and NRG Park for their response and support." Scott's partner, Kylie Jenner, shared footage from the concert hours earlier via Instagram Story, having attended alongside sister Kendall Jenner. The 24-year-old Kylie Cosmetics founder posted snaps of a trailer with 3-year-old daughter Stormi's name on it alongside concert videos during the rapper's set. In Jenner's Instagram videos, the packed crowd was seen jumping during her beau’s performance, which was complete with pyrotechnics on stage. The musician's annual festival completed a week's worth of "Astroweek" programming, which he described via Instagram in October as "a wild week." "But injecting the city with inspirational features and activities for charity is a must," Scott wrote at the time. "Join us thru out the week for a bunch of Scroll below to learn more about the incident so far: ![]() The sold-out crowd in Houston, Texas, rushed the stage during Scott’s set at 9:30 p.m., which caused mass panic and hysteria and led to numerous accidents and injuries. Another One? Shailene Woodley Shares Cryptic Post Amid Aaron Rodgers Drama Posted: 06 Nov 2021 08:07 AM PDT ![]() Following Aaron Rodgers' revelations over skipping the COVID-19 vaccine, fiancée Shailene Woodley has seemingly shared insight into her relationship with the football player. Woodley, 29, reshared a social media post from Co-Star Astrology via Instagram Story on Friday, November 6, regarding what each astrological sign "expects their partner" to do. The horoscope website's initial post noted, "Venus enters Capricorn today; time to raise your standards," as it listed off each star sign and a key trait about relationship expectations. In the Big Little Lies alum's post, she succinctly added, "Yep." Woodley's astrological sign is Scorpio, which Co-Star's Friday entry explained that such individuals expect their partner to "be able to spend extensive periods of time apart while remaining obsessed with them." The 37-year-old football player, for his part, is a Sagittarius. The entry for his sign is that they often expect their significant other to "let them roam." While Woodley played coy about which statement she particularly agreed with, her seemingly positive support of their relationship came hours after she shared another cryptic message on her page. At the time, Woodley posted a quote via Instagram that read, "Calm seas may bring you peace, but storms are where you'll find your power," according to Page Six. The post has since been deleted. Both of the Secret Life of the American Teenager alum's social media messages came after her fiancé made headlines over his recent claims that he "didn't lie" about his vaccination status after previously testing positive for the coronavirus earlier this month. "The league was fully aware of it upon my return to the Packers," the quarterback explained during an episode of "The Pat McAfee Show" on Friday. "It wasn't some sort of ruse or lie, it was the truth. Had there been a follow-up to my statement that I'd been immunized, I would have responded with this: I would have said, 'Look, I'm not some sort of anti-vax-flat-Earther. I'm somebody who's a critical thinker.' I march to the beat of my own drum. I believe strongly in bodily autonomy, [in the] ability to make choices for your body, not to have to acquiesce to some woke culture or crazed group of individuals who say you have to do something." During the lengthy interview, the NFL athlete detailed his reasoning for skipping the shot, which included an allergy to an ingredient in the vaccine and infertility claims, noting his future fatherhood hopes. Rodgers and Woodley first sparked dating rumors in July 2020 before Us Weekly confirmed in February that the pair were an item. Days later, he revealed that they were engaged amid their whirlwind romance. "2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing, memorable moments, 180 straight days of having my nose hair scraped, playing for very little fans or no stands the entire season," Rodgers announced the news during the NFL Honors awards in February, even shouting out his fiancée. "I got engaged and I played some of the best football in my career. So I'd like to thank, first and foremost, my teammates for their support, their inspiration, protection, incredible play on the field … off the field I've got a great group of people that support me, so I'd like to thank my team." |
Why Kim Kardashian’s Friends Told Her to ‘Go for It’ With Pete Davidson Posted: 06 Nov 2021 08:00 AM PDT With a little help from her friends! Kim Kardashian decided to pursue Pete Davidson on the advice of her inner circle, a source tells Us Weekly exclusively. "One of the first things Kim did was to get her family and friends' advice, and they all encouraged her to go for it,” the insider says of the Skims founder, 41, and the Saturday Night Live star, 27. “It's been very obvious for a while now that she's been missing some fun and laughter in her life, and of course Pete offers that in abundance.” The KKW Beauty mogul and the comedian were first spotted together in October when they joined Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker for a group outing to Knott’s Berry Farm just before Halloween. Just days later, they had dinner together two nights in a row — first in Davidson’s native Staten Island, and then in Manhattan with friends. Though the Selfish author is enjoying spending time with someone as “witty and laid back” as the Suicide Squad star, the source adds that her friends have reminded her to take it slow. "People are happy for Kim, but at the same time they're urging her not to get too carried away or ahead of herself,” the singer explains. “Pete has this heartbreaker reputation for a reason, and while his intentions might be honorable, there's a slight fear that Kim could be setting herself up for a vulnerable situation.” The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum is still settling the details of her divorce from Kanye West after their February split. The estranged duo share North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2, and they both have previously requested joint legal and physical custody. Though Kim seems to be moving on, the 44-year-old rapper recently said he wants to give their marriage another shot. "SNL making my wife say 'I divorced him' on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off and I never have seen the papers. We're not even divorced," he said on Friday, November 5, referring to Kim’s October hosting gig on the show. "[It's] no joke to me, my kids want their parents to stay together. I want their parents — I want us to be together." Us confirmed in February that the reality star filed for divorce after six years of marriage to the Grammy winner. Last month, she paid the Yeezy designer $23 million for his share of the Hidden Hills, California, estate they shared before their split. Amid the ongoing drama of the divorce, Kim’s friends are happy that Davidson can offer her a welcome distraction. “It's so refreshing for Kim to be dating someone who's almost the total opposite of her previous relationships,” the insider tells Us. “Pete's just chill and doesn't sweat the small stuff at all, which Kim finds really sexy.” |
Penn Badgley and Domino Kirke's Relationship Timeline Posted: 06 Nov 2021 07:00 AM PDT So nice they did it twice! Penn Badgley and Domino Kirke found their happily ever after — and even celebrated it with two wedding ceremonies. Badgley and Kirke initially sparked romance rumors in 2014. Four years later, the doula admitted that their early relationship didn’t feel too serious. "I was sort of getting used to being a single mom, maybe a little too used to it. I had a really good thing with my kid and we were like this little team. Penn and I were dating, but it wasn't nearly as serious as it is now, of course,” Kirke, who shares son Cassius with ex Morgan O'Kane, told Hey Mama in 2018. “I didn't think marriage was in the cards for us. So I was sort of just chugging along, surviving and getting through the days, and I think the difference now is that I'm really living." The couple, who tied the knot twice in 2017, announced that they were expecting their first child together three years later. "On the road again," the musician captioned a close-up photo of her baby bump via Instagram in February 2020. "Pregnancy after loss is a whole other thing. After two miscarriages in a row, we were ready to call it. I stopped trusting my body and started to accept the fact that I was done. As a birth attendant, I've seen and heard it all. It takes everything I've got to detach lovingly from the losses I've been present for and be in my own experience." At the time, Kirke reflected on how her view of motherhood shifted over the years since welcoming Cassius in 2009. "When I was pregnant at 25, I knew nothing. I had no community. I dove in blissfully unaware about birth and its mysteries,” she noted. “Now, with 10 years worth of experience to pull from, I treasure my birth community and the knowledge I have. You're already teaching us how to stay in the day in a way we've never had to, little one. Thank you." The “Ordinary World” singer confirmed in September 2020 that she and Badgley welcomed a baby boy. Kirke previously Us Weekly that she knew the Gossip Girl alum would be a wonderful parent because he was already such a "good stepdad” to her firstborn. "It's really nice,” she exclusively told Us in October 2019. “The stepparent thing is definitely unchartered territory for me 'cause I didn't grow up with one, but … he takes care of him really well." Your great capacity for empathy is obvious, something anyone can get warm by like a glowing stove. Your desire to be of service to others is miraculous. It is in your DNA. In pictures as a very young child, you exude it—a great care and sweetness; an invitation.” He added: “You make others happy by you. For me, it is a joy to witness you when you are happy. Rob Thomas Says Wife Marisol Maldonado's Brain Surgery Helped Him 'Appreciate' How 'Lucky' They Are Posted: 06 Nov 2021 06:00 AM PDT Two decades of experience. Rob Thomas has been married to Marisol Maldonado for over 21 years — and after she was diagnosed with several disease following brain surgery, he realized how thankful he is for their life together. The Matchbox Twenty singer, 49, exclusively told Us Weekly that he doesn’t have a big secret to a long-lasting marriage. He just really loves Maldonado, 51. “We’re friends. Above everything else, she’s my best friend,” Thomas told Us. “She’s the one that I like to spend the most time with. If something’s happening and she doesn’t know about it, it doesn’t feel like it’s happening.” While discussing his new holiday album, Something About Christmas Time, the Germany-born singer joked that they’re “very codependent” — but he assures Us it’s nothing for his therapist to worry about. “We just rely on each other a lot,” he explained. The couple has faced other struggles, however, as Maldonado, a retired model, battles several severe health issues. After brain surgery to remove a lesion in 2015, she was diagnosed with several tick-borne diseases, including Neurologic Lyme Disease, Babesiosis and Bartonella. Those infections are believed to have triggered Hashimoto's disease and Lupus-like symptoms, as well as Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia (often nicknamed “suicide disease” because the attack of the facial nerves is so painful). Thomas said his wife is pushing through as best she can. “It’s a lifelong thing that she’s kind of [dealing with]. We’re in the mode of trying to control things more than try and cure them,” he explained to Us. The musician revealed that her condition has taught them to cherish the good times. “We’ve learned a lot of perspective on those things,” he noted. “When you don’t have as many good days, when you have them, you really appreciate them, and you really know what to do with them. And maybe what would have been a bad day doesn’t seem so bad sometimes. We kind of realized that there’s certain things that we have, and that we’re really lucky.” Thomas added that he is grateful that he was able to work during the coronavirus pandemic, giving him something to focus on amid the chaos. He wrote “Move” with Carlos Santana, 22 years after their collaboration “Smooth” hit the airwaves, and he finally had time to record the Christmas album he always said he wanted to make. “With everything that’s been happening, that we’ve all been experiencing as a community over the last year and a half, we realize how fortunate we are,” the “Small Town Christmas” crooner stressed. “I have a job that I was able to work during this whole time. I never worried about losing my house or losing my job. We had food on the table. So with everything that was going on recently, I think we even realized how more, how lucky we are in with the relationship that we have and how we can take care of each other.” Plus, Thomas and Maldonado survived quarantine without killing each other. “We’ve been locked down. It’s just been the two of us in the house, and we still like each other,” he quipped. “So that, I think, that says a lot.” Thomas will perform tracks from Something About Christmas during an exclusive livestream concert on StageIt, presented by VNUE, on Monday, November 8, at 8 p.m. ET. Proceeds benefit Sidewalk Angels Foundation, an organization founded by Thomas and Maldonado that benefits no-kill animal shelters. |
