'RHOC' Alum Kelly Dodd's Most Controversial Moments Through the Years Posted: 04 Nov 2021 02:48 PM PDT Bringing the drama! Kelly Dodd has a history of saying what's on her mind, which has gotten her into trouble on more than one occasion. The former Real Housewives of Orange County star, who appeared on the series from 2016 to 2021, noted that her controversial actions over the years were probably the reason for her termination by Bravo after season 15. "Listen, ultimately, I got fired because of myself. I'm the one who got myself fired," Dodd said during a June 2021 appearance on SiriusXM's Jeff Lewis Live with her husband, Rick Leventhal. "I was causing them a lot of grief. I was causing them a lot of trouble. And, you know, I'm sorry about that. Like, I feel bad." Leventhal, who married Dodd in October 2020, revealed that he was surprised by the network's choice not to renew her contract, calling his wife the "brightest spark" on the show. "You want somebody to love to hate you, or you want people to really love you, but I have a million followers and they are diehard, like, fans, and they love me. And then I have […] this little group of people that are [part of] the cancel culture that hate me," Dodd explained. "And so they're the loud ones. … The woke, broke people. They love to hate me." The former Bravo star's actions in 2021 alone made a lot of waves, including her public feud with Braunwyn Windham-Burke after they were both axed from RHOC that June. Elizabeth Lyn Vargas' contract wasn't renewed either. Outside of the show, Dodd received backlash for attending an event that some fans considered to be a COVID-19 “superspreader” in January 2021. She previously raised eyebrows in May 2020 when she celebrated a meal out in Southern California without a face covering, claiming, "No one is wearing masks here in Orange County. Yup, because no one is dying here of the virus." She also commented on the alleged politics behind COVID-19 restrictions, sharing a message with her Instagram followers in May 2020. "It's not the government's job to protect my health. It's the government's job to protect my RIGHTS," she wrote at the time. "It's my job to protect my health. When you trade liberty for safety you end up losing both." Scroll down to relive Dodd's most controversial moments through the years: ![]() Dodd came under fire in April 2020 after flying during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic. She fired back with a series of since-deleted Instagram comments, calling her haters “judgmental” before sharing her thoughts on the worldwide pandemic. The former reality star claimed that the virus was “God’s way of thinning the herd,” aruguing that those who have died from the disease “would’ve died this year” anyway because “they were compromised.” Days later, she issued a public apology via her Instagram Story. “When I wrote that it’s ‘God’s way of thinning the herd,’ that’s not what I meant. What I meant was, ‘Do these pandemics happen because it’s God’s way?’ I’m not God. I’m not insensitive,” she wrote at the time. “I feel bad for all the families that have lost loved ones, and I do think we should all stay at home and protect everybody. That’s not what I meant, and I want to apologize to anyone who got offended, OK? I’m sorry.” Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() Dodd faced backlash in June 2020 when her past racist remarks from four years prior resurfaced. In the recirclulated TMZ video, the TV personality said she didn’t “like” or “know any Black guys” while standing outside of The Nice Guy restaurant in Los Angeles. She later apologized for her comments in a statement to TMZ, saying, “I am truly embarrassed. There is no excuse for bad behavior or comments that offend anyone. That video does not represent who I really am and I apologize for acting irresponsibly.” In June 2020, Dodd addressed her own experience with racism as a Mexican American. When a fan asked, “But, like, do you truly believe that because ‘You’re Mexican you can’t be racist’?” she fired back, “I’ve experienced racism personally … I am a woman of color and love everyone!” Merritt/Radarpics for/Shutterstock ![]() Windham-Burke’s battle with alcoholism was a main story line during season 15 of The Real Housewives of Orange County. It was the ongoing conversations about her sobriety — and Windham-Burke’s revelation that she is gay — that Dodd had a major issue with. Looking back at all the drama in December 2020, Dodd explained that she didn’t have any regrets about how insensitive she was toward her costar. “I don’t regret it because I think that her whole sobriety thing is contrived and I think it’s fake,” Dodd told Cohen during an episode of WWHL. “I don’t think that she had seven kids so she could ‘not drink’ and I know her well enough that this was a pre-plotted thing that she wanted to do to get her own show. … She wanted to get her own show, her talent agent told her to stop drinking. It’s all contrived. I don’t believe that she is a real alcoholic, no. You’ll see it after on at the end of the show, what happens. It’s really good.” Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() The Newport Beach resident faced criticism in January 2021 after she attended a dinner with friends in California without a mask amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. “Cheers!” she said in a video alongside her husband while raising a glass to "superspreaders" along with the other diners, all of whom appeared to be maskless. One of her pals pretended to cough after shouting, “Spread that s–t!” and Dodd said she was “getting a lot of hate for being at a restaurant we’re allowed to be at.” The TV personality later commented on her actions via her Instagram Story. “I’m not a superspreader because there’s nothing to spread,” Dodd said in the clip. “We all got the vaccine and we don’t have it, so there’s nothing to spread about superspreaders. The sheeple are mad.” Us confirmed that after the videos surfaced, Positive Beverage chose to disassociate with Dodd. “Our stakeholder, Kelly Dodd, was distanced from our company as an ambassador of the brand after the recent weeks and days of social media presence, indicating her opinions about people and the pandemic,” the brand’s founder and CEO, Zach Muchnick, told Us in a statement. “These values weren’t aligned with our tone and priorities of inclusion, diversity, wellness and health within every pillar of daily life. While she remains a minority shareholder in the company, we made the decision today to formally sever ties with her endorsement and likeness with our brand.” Casey Durkin/Bravo ![]() The Positive Beverage cofounder claimed she caught COVID-19 from Heather Dubrow’s son, Nicholas, in July 2021. After receiving a letter from Dubrow’s attorney about the false claim, she said she was sorry for her remark. “I am offering my sincere apology,” Dodd said via her Instagram Story at the time. “I did get COVID at a party New Year’s Eve, and Heather Dubrow’s son and his friends were all there. And while I had information leading us all to believe we could’ve gotten COVID from them, because we all — like, 24 of us — got COVID that night, we obviously have no way of proving or knowing for sure he or his friends were the source of our infection.” She continued: “And for that, I apologize. I’m going on the record right now to be very clear: Rick and I don’t know how we caught the virus, and we’re both very, very sorry for any trouble we caused the Dubrow family.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() In July 2021, Dodd angered some fans when she seemingly made transphobic quips in a Cameo video. While giving a birthday shout-out to someone named Jennifer, who listed her pronouns in the request, the former Housewife appeared to take a jab at the LGBTQ+ community. “Jennifer! They switched up this Cameo bulls–t, right, and [it says] this is Jennifer, she/her. I don’t get this,” Dodd said. “You’re born a girl or a boy. I don’t get it. You’re Jennifer. I’m sorry, I don’t give a f–k.” She later addressed her controversial opinions, saying in an Instagram video that she’d never seen the options for having pronouns in a Cameo message. Dodd noted that she was “drinking” when she saw the request and spoke out of turn. “I was just reacting in my own raw and unfiltered way,” she continued. “I want to be very, very clear about this — that I accept everyone for who they are. I accept everyone for who they want to be and who they believe themselves to be and I don’t hate on anyone. I’m not transphobic. I was just unfamiliar with the language.” Courtesy Kelly Dodd/Instagram ![]() Dodd and Leventhal turned heads in October 2021 when they debuted their Halloween costumes. “Kelly celebrated her Native American heritage & I celebrated the great American film actor Alec Baldwin #happyhalloween🎃,” Leventhal captioned photos of the duo, in which he dressed as a cowboy version of Baldwin and held a prop gun and Dodd wore a full headdress and also held a toy gun. The duo were slammed for their controversial picks after Baldwin was involved in an accident on the set of Rust the same month. The actor fired a prop weapon while on location in New Mexico and it discharged bullets that killed Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. Dodd also received backlash for her wardrobe, with one fan commenting, “Culture really isn’t a costume.” The former Fox News correspondent later released a statement to Page Six, saying, “People twisted our outfits and intent in ways neither of us could’ve imagined and filled our page with hate. We took the post down out of respect for the victims’ families and only hope the cancel culture won’t cancel Halloween next.” Courtesy Rick Leventhal/Instagram |
Sons of Anarchy' Actor William Lucking Dies at 80 Posted: 04 Nov 2021 02:46 PM PDT It's never easy to say goodbye. Larry King, Christopher Plummer and Cecily Tyson are among the celebrities who died in 2021, leaving those in their wake heartbroken. Dustin Diamond died on February 1 at age 44 after a battle with stage IV small cell carcinoma. "He was diagnosed with this brutal, relentless form of malignant cancer only three weeks ago. In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution," his rep told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. "Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful." The actor's Saved by the Bell costars paid tribute to him after news of his death. "I'm deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dustin Diamond, a true comedic genius. My sincere condolences to his family and friends," Mark-Paul Gosselaar told Us in a statement. "Looking back at our time working together, I will miss those raw, brilliant sparks that only he was able to produce. A pie in your face, my comrade." Mario Lopez, meanwhile, wrote via Instagram: "Dustin, you will be missed my man. The fragility of this life is something never to be taken for granted. Prayers for your family will continue on." Tiffani Thiessen echoed Lopez's sentiments in an Instagram post of her own. "I am deeply saddened by the news of my old co-star @realdustindiamond passing," she captioned a photo of Diamond. "Life is extremely fragile and it's something we should never take for granted. God speed Dustin." Later that month, fans lost an iconic figure in Christopher Plummer, who died at age 91. "Chris was an extraordinary man who deeply loved and respected his profession with great old fashion manners, self deprecating humor and the music of words," his longtime manager said in a statement to Us on February 5. "He was a National Treasure who deeply relished his Canadian roots. Through his art and humanity, he touched all of our hearts and his legendary life will endure for all generations to come. He will forever be with us." The Oscar winner's Sound of Music costar Julie Andrews honored him after his death. "The world has lost a consummate actor today. And I have lost a cherished friend," the actress told Us in a statement. "I treasure the memories of our work together and all the humor and fun we shared through the years. Jinger's Pants! Jana's Trip! Every Time Duggar Kids Broke a Family Rule Posted: 04 Nov 2021 01:10 PM PDT Forging their own paths! Jinger Duggar and several of her siblings have seemingly strayed from their conservative parents’ rules through the years — and have shocked some fans in the process. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar raised their 19 kids in a devout Baptist home, which came with some strict guidelines. Daughters were taught to dress modestly, meaning they wore skirts and dresses each day, and were not allowed to read romance novels. When the Duggar children are ready to date — or “court” — they must be accompanied by a chaperone on their romantic outings. Most of the family’s rules are enforced on relationships, including staying abstinent until marriage and keeping physical touch to a minimum (side hugs are fair game, but front-facing ones are not). For many of the young TLC stars, their first kiss occurred on their wedding day. “Jeremy and I had talked about it quite a bit leading up to our wedding day. You sort of have to when your first kiss is going to be in front of a thousand people,” Jinger wrote in her 2021 memoir, The Hope We Hold, coauthored by husband Jeremy Vuolo. “'Tilt your head to the right,' he'd told me. 'Just follow my lead.'” That wasn’t the only big change that followed her November 2016 nuptials. After tying the knot, Jinger made her first foray into a new fashion realm: pants. “Growing up, I had a set of standards that I took as givens. … [But] my convictions were changing,” she wrote in her and Vuolo’s book, noting that she discovered wearing pants “wasn’t disobeying a biblical command.” Still, she “struggled” to reconcile with what she’d been taught her whole life. “I knew [my family] deeply cared about their convictions, and I didn’t want to hurt them now that I didn’t share those convictions,” she continued. “I felt emotional as I worried that my parents would think I didn't appreciate how I was raised.” Jinger’s small rebellion is one that many of her sisters joined in on as they became adults. Other siblings — including Jana and Jill Duggar — have taken things one step further. While Jana has yet to settle down like many of her younger sisters, she’s traveled without chaperones by her side. For her part, Jill has taken a step back from her family’s world, choosing to speak openly about her sex life, drink alcohol and even put her kids in public school. Keep scrolling to see how some of the Duggar siblings defied their parents’ house rules: ![]() After tying the knot with Vuolo in November 2016, Jinger "felt no inner conflict" when she became interested in wearing pants, she explained in her 2021 book. Growing up, she and her sisters were taught to practice modesty by wearing skirts and dresses. In adulthood, Jinger realized that she could follow her own version of modesty, even if it deviated from her family's expectations. "We could come to different conclusions about Scripture but still love one another," she wrote. Not only did the Arkansas native miss curfew while chatting on the phone with Austin unsupervised, but during a 2017 episode of Counting On, she fessed up to "going over the three-second hug" before marriage. TLC ![]() The Duggar children are expected to have a third party join them on their dates during their courtships — but Josiah seemingly threw that rule out the window. In 2018, he took a trip to the Silver Dollar City amusement park in Missouri with then-fiancée Lauren Swanson, and the couple appeared to fly solo. The pair tied the knot that June. Jinger and her 18 siblings were raised in a devout Baptist home, which came with strict guidelines, including that she and her sisters should dress modestly. "My mom had always dressed us girls in skirts and dresses, a standard that was taken from Deuteronomy 22:5, which says, 'A woman shall not wear a man's garment,’" the 19 Kids and Counting alum explained in her May 2021 memoir, The Hope We Hold. Following her 2016 wedding to Vuolo, Jinger made the decision to upgrade her wardrobe and break from her family's "modesty" protocol. "Modesty was a huge topic in our house, and we believed that wearing skirts instead of pants was a central part of being modest," she continued in her book, which was coauthored by Vuolo. "But I wanted to discover for myself what the Bible had to say." After moving to Laredo, Texas, with the former soccer player, Jinger started "digging into" the deeper meaning behind some of the Bible passages she'd known her whole life. "Since Jeremy and I had begun studying Scripture together, I had become more aware of the different beliefs and doctrines Christians held," the Arkansas native explained in The Hope We Hold. "I realized that not everyone interpreted different passages of Scripture the way I always had, and I wanted to find out why." The mother of daughters Felicity, 3, Evangeline, 11 months, whom she shares with Vuolo, came up with her own interpretation of modesty — and "felt no inner conflict" in switching up her wardrobe. She realized that wearing pants "wasn't disobeying a biblical command." While Jinger was concerned her new style would upset her parents, she ultimately realized that they could all "come to different conclusions about Scripture but still love one another.” Fashion isn't the only area in which Jinger's views deviate from her parents. Last month, the reality star celebrated Halloween, a holiday the Duggar brood previously skipped for religious reasons. "Congratulations!," one of her followers wrote via Instagram. "Finally being expressive and free." |
Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson's Rumored Romance: Everything We Know Posted: 04 Nov 2021 12:45 PM PDT True love or just friends? Since Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson were first spotted spending time together in October 2021, fans couldn’t help but wonder what’s really going on between the duo. The Skims founder and the Saturday Night Live star first turned heads when they were photographed holding hands on a roller-coaster ride at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, shortly before Halloween. The pair visited the theme park with other people, including Kourtney Kardashian and her fiancé, Travis Barker, but their cozy moment still made headlines. "Kim and Pete seemed like good friends," an eyewitness told Us Weekly at the time, adding that several security guards accompanied the group on the trip. "Kim seemed very chill. It did seem like she was trying to hide.” The pairing came as a surprise to fans of both the comedian and the KKW Beauty mogul, but they do share many friends and acquaintances in common. Davidson is BFFs with Machine Gun Kelly, who is close to Barker, and Kelly’s girlfriend, Megan Fox, is friendly with Kourtney. (The latter duo teamed up for a racy Skims ad campaign in September 2021.) Perhaps their biggest person in common, however, is Kim’s estranged husband, Kanye West, who often collaborates with Davidson’s pal Kid Cudi. Back in 2019, the comedian went to a birthday dinner for the “Pursuit of Happiness” rapper that the couple affectionately known as Kimye also attended. The Selfish author filed for divorce from the Grammy winner in February 2021 following six years of marriage. The pair share four children: North (born in June 2013), Saint (born in December 2015), Chicago (born in January 2018) and Psalm (born in May 2019). Until she was spotted with Davidson, Kim hadn’t been publicly linked to anyone since she announced her split from West. In June 2021, a source told Us that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum wasn’t yet ready to put herself out there again. "She's not focused on dating at the moment but actually worries that guys will not want to date her because of how public her relationship was with Kanye," the insider explained at the time. "She also knows how hard it is to build trust with someone so she thinks it's going to take time before letting someone into her private life.” The King of Staten Island actor, for his part, called it quits with Phoebe Dynevor in August 2021 after five months of dating. "The distance put a strain on the relationship and it made it hard to maintain," a source told Us of the split. Rachel Lindsay: Chris Harrison Interview Fallout Gave Me 'a Lot of PTSD' Posted: 04 Nov 2021 12:40 PM PDT Clearing the air. Rachel Lindsay took a step back from the Bachelor franchise after she was blamed for Chris Harrison's exit, but she got real about her experience as the first Black lead, the fallout from her controversial interview with the former host and more in a new sit-down. The season 13 Bachelorette, 36, explained during the Wednesday, November 3, episode of the "Tell Me With Ellen Pompeo" podcast why she thought it was the right time to speak out. "I almost feel like I have a little PTSD — maybe a lot of PTSD — from the whole incident, and I needed just to take a beat and take some space away from everything and then find the right place to feel like I can have an honest conversation and be myself," she noted. Lindsay did not hold back when it came to her current relationship with Harrison, 50. She faced backlash in February after she interviewed the Texas native about Rachael Kirkconnell for Extra. His comments in defense of the Bachelor season 25 contestant, 25, amid allegations of past racially insensitive actions led him to take a temporary break from his hosting duties before leaving permanently in June. The former attorney, for her part, was harassed online by viewers who felt Harrison's departure was her fault. She ultimately cut ties with the franchise as a result. The transition came after years of a strained relationship with the show. Lindsay was a fan favorite during Nick Viall's season 21 of The Bachelor in 2017 and she became the Bachelorette later that year, but she felt the pressure behind the scenes. "There were certain things that I was asked, sure, like when it comes to makeup and hair, and I appreciated those things," she told Ellen Pompeo on Wednesday. "But when it came to telling my story or from my experience as being a Black woman, those things weren't received in the same way. Like, I remember when I had a breakdown. It just hit me randomly in a moment where I was struggling with my emotions, and I'm looking around the room and no one looks like me and everybody's a white male except for one female producer, and I'm like, 'You have no idea what I'm going through. You don't understand what you're asking me to do. You don't understand how you're telling me, 'Oh, you can't go in there and confront them,'' 'cause they were telling me that because I would've looked like an angry Black woman." The disconnect between Lindsay, the people behind the franchise and the viewers seemed insurmountable. "There were just so many things that weren't receptive to, I guess, what I wanted [and] how I wanted to portray myself, because an audience couldn't necessarily receive things in that way," she added. Scroll through the gallery below for more revelations. ![]() Lindsay reflected on the reaction to her interview with Harrison. “That was it for me when I saw how the audience — and even people who didn’t watch the show — reacted to me doing what I’m supposed to do in the confines of my job, my job description, asking a question. He responded. It’s a question I would’ve asked anybody who was affiliated with the franchise because that’s what was relevant to what was happening on that season, and somehow it became my fault,” she said. “To strip away everything, there’s only one reason that you could think that it was my fault — because you have certain preconceived notions that are attached to me because of my skin color than you do versus somebody else.” She subsequently became villainized as “a person who likes to cancel people,” which she denied being. “Then to add on top of it, Chris became a martyr for cancel culture to a huge audience, and so people who didn’t watch the show then started to say, ‘Oh, she canceled him,’ and then I got attached to that as well,” she recalled. “So it went beyond just what happened with the show and that interview.” Extra ![]() The reality star revealed that she has not spoken to Harrison since the day after their February interview. He did reach out to her after she accepted his apology on Good Morning America in March, however. “I was mad at myself that I was silent,” she said of her initial regret about the interview. “There were so many things that I wanted to say and I didn’t, and it took a while for me to say, ‘But you were doing your job. It wasn’t a debate, it was an interview, and you had to allow him to say what he wanted to say.’” Shutterstock (2) ![]() Lindsay ended up agreeing to be the Bachelorette because of the impact that she felt her representation of Black women in the franchise could have, but her parents were hesitant. “My parents didn’t want me to do The Bachelorette,” she explained. “They didn’t have a problem with The Bachelor because I was one of many, and I mean, let’s be serious, we didn’t think that I would go far because you typically didn’t see Black women or men go far on the show. So, for them, they just didn’t think that I would have that type of exposure, but when it came to me being the first and me being the lead to this audience that they had curated for so many years that was used to a certain type of person leading this show, my parents knew what was gonna come with it. My mom said, ‘They’re going to crucify you.’” ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() The TV personality got real about checking boxes during the casting process. “I was acceptable on paper to a majority white audience — coming from a certain lifestyle, my father being a federal judge, attending private school, being an attorney,” she said. “I fit a certain mold where you could say, ‘Wow, she’s one of the good ones. We can understand why she became the first and she was chosen.’ And not to diss my other Bachelorettes — I love them all — but if I had the same resume that they had, I wouldn’t have been the first.” Shutterstock (2); ABC ![]() “When I was on The Bachelor, my date was on a Sunday for hometowns, and I was like, ‘Well, typically on a Sunday, we would go to church. We go to church on Sunday, and it’s like this entire experience, and then we gather for dinner afterwards or we go to brunch,’ and they thought it was the most amazing thing ever,” she recalled. “But it felt more like they were exploiting something that’s a part of tradition and a part of our culture and forcing us to have certain conversations rather than saying, ‘Oh, this is who Rachel is.’” ABC/Mitch Haaseth ![]() Lindsay did not qualify to see the franchise’s psychiatrist during filming based on her evaluation, but she asked to meet with the expert anyway to continue the therapy she had begun outside the show. “We would talk about politics, and I was like, ‘Tell me what’s going on in the world.’ I hitched my wagon to her because she was what was real to me,” she noted. “We couldn’t be miked, I could stay in there as long as I wanted to, they couldn’t pull me out, they couldn’t question the things that we talked about. It was a safe place for me, and without her, I wouldn’t have been able to go through The Bachelor and be successful, and I demanded that I got to talk to her weekly for an unlimited amount of time as the Bachelorette, and it saved me.” imageSPACE/Shutterstock |
Halyna Hutchins’ Husband Hires Lawyers Specialized in Wrongful Death Cases Posted: 04 Nov 2021 12:30 PM PDT While filming his movie Rust on Thursday, October 21, Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun that injured the director and killed another crew member. The incident occurred at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico. According to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department, the weapon was “discharged” by the 30 Rock alum, 63, and Deadline later reported that production on the Western was paused. “Mr. Baldwin came in voluntarily to speak with investigators,” sheriff’s office spokesman Juan Ríos noted in a statement, asserting that the situation would be treated like “any other investigation.” Detectives were trying to determine “what type of projectile was discharged” as the set remained on lockdown. The victims — director Joel Souza and director of photography Halyna Hutchins — were rushed to receive medical attention after being struck. Hutchins, 42, was pronounced dead at University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque. The 48-year-old filmmaker, for his part, was taken to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center via helicopter. While his condition was initially unknown, Deadline was told by Souza’s rep that he was released from the hospital on Friday, October 22. The movie’s production company, Rust Movie Productions LLC, noted in a statement regarding the accident, “The entire cast and crew has been absolutely devastated by today’s tragedy, and we send our deepest condolences to Halyna’s family and loved ones. We have halted production on the film for an undetermined period of time and are fully cooperating with the Santa Fe Police Department’s investigation. We will be providing counseling services to everyone connected to the film as we work to process this awful event.” Hutchins was originally from the Ukraine and had been sharing updates about the filming process with her Instagram followers ahead of her death. “One of the perks of shooting a western is you get to ride horses on your day off:),” she captioned a video of herself on Wednesday, October 20, as she joined a group on horseback. The Emmy winner broke his silence on Hutchins’ death on Friday via Twitter, writing, “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours. I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.” Before Baldwin addressed the incident, tributes poured in for the late cinematographer. “I’m in shock. I was so lucky to have had Halyna Hutchins as my DP on ‘Archenemy,'” Joe Manganiello tweeted. “An incredible talent & great person. I can't believe this could happen in this day and age… gunfire from a prop gun could kill a crew member? What a horrible tragedy. My heart goes out to her family.” Ava DuVernay left a comment on casting director Sidra Smith‘s Instagram post about Hutchins, writing, “Devastating. Absolutely horrific. Blessings to you during this difficult time, Sidra. And may her soul be at rest.” Scroll down for the latest updates on the Rust shooting: ![]() Souza is a California-based writer and director whose previous credits include 2015's Ghost Squad, 2017's Break Night and 2019's Crown Vic. Ron Adar/SOPA Images/Shutterstock ![]() As of Thursday, the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office was in the midst of an "open and active" investigation, but no arrests were made. Baldwin was questioned by investigators — as were other members of the crew — but no charges were filed. Andrew H. Andres Leighton/AP/Shutterstock ![]() That is the question investigators are still trying to answer. The assistant director called out “cold gun” when handing Baldwin the weapon, the AD wrote in an affidavit, according to the New York Times. “Cold” means no ammunition is in the gun. The crew member “did not know live rounds were in the prop gun,” Detective Joel Cano declared in an affidavit. Jae C Hong/AP/Shutterstock ![]() The LA Times reports that several crew members walked off set to protest working conditions hours ahead of the fatal accident. They accused the production of not properly following safety protocols, including gun inspections. The workers claimed that there were two accidental gun discharges on set before, with Baldwin’s stunt double allegedly firing a gun that was announced as “cold” only to find a live round in it. “There should have been an investigation into what happened,” a crew member alleged to the LA Times. “There were no safety meetings. There was no assurance that it wouldn’t happen again. All they wanted to do was rush, rush, rush.” Chris Pizzello/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Many film and TV sets are taking action and vowing not to risk having “hot” or “live” — meaning loaded — weapons on set. ABC’s police drama The Rookie has officially banned live rounds. “As of today, it is now policy on The Rookie that all gunfire on set will be with Air Soft guns with CG muzzle flashes added in post,” showrunner Alexi Hawley wrote in a memo obtained by The Hollywood Reporter on Friday, October 22. “There will be no more ‘live’ weapons on the show. The safety of our cast and crew is too important.” Amazon Prime’s The Boys, which is known for its violent action sequences, will also forgo live rounds. Showrunner Eric Kripke, who worked with Rust cast member Jensen Ackles on Supernatural and The Boys, announced the news on Friday via Twitter. “In [Hutchins’] memory, a simple, easy pledge: no more guns with blanks on any of my sets ever. We'll use VFX muzzle flashes. Who's with me?” he wrote. Eric McCandless/ABC/Kobal/Shutterstock ![]() This is not the first time a prop gun has led to fatalities on a film set. In 1993, the late Brandon Lee was killed during filming for The Crow after an improperly loaded prop gun was fired. His sister, Shannon Lee, reacted to the Rust incident on Thursday. "Our hearts go out to the family of Halyna Hutchins and to Joel Souza and all involved in the incident on 'Rust,'" she tweeted via a memorial account set up for her brother. "No one should ever be killed by a gun on a film set. Period." Pressman/Most/Kobal/Shutterstock ![]() "I am gutted by the loss of my friend and colleague, Halyna," Souza said in a statement. "She was kind, vibrant, incredibly talented, fought for every inch and always pushed me to be better. My thoughts are with her family at this most difficult time. It will surely aid in my recovery." Kristina Bumphrey/StarPix/Shutterstock ![]() According to Deadline, assistant director David Halls, who handed Baldwin a prop gun moments before it was discharged, was "removed from set immediately" after the accident. Producers told the outlet that an incident report was filed and a new assistant director was brought in. Andres Leighton/AP/Shutterstock ![]() On October 22, a Rust crewmember named Serge Svetnoy shared a photo of Hutchins that he claimed was taken shortly before the fatal shooting. “This is the last photo with Halyna on set,” he wrote via Facebook. The snapshot showed the cinematographer shooting a scene with Baldwin in a small church on the New Mexico set. Two days later, Svetnoy shared an emotional post in which he revealed that he “was holding [Hutchins] in my arms while she was dying. Her blood was on my hands,” he wrote via Facebook on October 24. In that same message, the electrician stated that, in his opinion, Hutchins’ death was “the fault of negligence and unprofessionalism.” Courtesy of Halyna Hutchins/Instagram ![]() Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirmed during a press conference on October 27 that a lead bullet was recovered from Souza’s shoulder after he was taken to the hospital. The bullet is believed to be the one that fatally struck Hutchins. Police also collected approximately 600 items of evidence, including 500 rounds of ammunition from the set, which were a mixture of “blanks, dummy rounds and what we are suspecting were live rounds,” according to Mendoza. MediaPunch/Shutterstock ![]() Hannah Gutierrez Reed was the armorer — or person in charge of firearms — on the set of Rust. During a September episode of the “Voices of West” podcast, the former model admitted “the best part” of her job was “just showing people who are normally kind of freaked out by guns how safe they can be and how they’re not really problematic unless put in the wrong hands.” Reed is the daughter of longtime armorer Thell Reed, who was Brad Pitt’s shooting coach on the 2007 film The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. However, the 24-year-old had only worked on one movie before landing the role of head armorer on Baldwin's western. The Hollywood rookie noted she had “figured” out most of the job's requirements on “my own” and said that “loading blanks” is the “scariest thing to me.” Jae C Hong/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Gutierrez Reed's lawyers, Jason Bowles and Robert Gorence, released a statement to Us on October 29. "First Hannah would like to extend her deepest and most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Halyna," the statement read, referring to Hutchins as "an inspirational woman in film who Hannah looked up to." The statement went on to allege that she had been "slandered" in the aftermath of the shooting. "Safety is Hannah’s number one priority on set. Ultimately this set would never have been compromised if live ammo were not introduced," the lawyers claimed on her behalf. "Hannah has no idea where the live rounds came from. Hannah and the prop master gained control over the guns and she never witnessed anyone shoot live rounds with these guns and nor would she permit that. They were locked up every night and at lunch and there’s no way a single one of them was unaccounted for or being shot by crew members. Hannah still, to this day, has never had an accidental discharge." Though there have been reports that there were two accidental discharges in other situations on set, Gutierrez Reed's lawyers allege that others were at fault. "The first one on this set was the prop master and the second was a stunt man after Hannah informed him his gun was hot with blanks," they alleged. Myung J Chun/Los Angeles Times/Shutterstock ![]() Gutierrez Reed's lawyers suggested that the blame for the fatal accident lay with other filmmakers. "Hannah was hired on two positions on this film, which made it extremely difficult to focus on her job as an armorer," they said in the October 29 statement. "She fought for training, days to maintain weapons, and proper time to prepare for gunfire but ultimately was overruled by production and her department. The whole production set became unsafe due to various factors, including lack of safety meetings. This was not the fault of Hannah." Andres Leighton/AP/Shutterstock ![]() While in Vermont on October 30, Baldwin told news outlets that he couldn't say much about the incident, but he is cooperating with authorities and mourning the death of Hutchins. "I’ve been ordered by the sheriff’s department in Santa Fe, I can’t answer any questions about the investigation," Baldwin said. "I can’t — it’s an active investigation in terms of a woman died. She was my friend.” Kristina Bumphrey/StarPix/Shutterstock ![]() The actor, who also produced the film, explained that he met with Hutchins' husband as well as her son to offer support. "The guy is overwhelmed with grief," Baldwin said on October 30. "There are incidental accidents on film sets from time to time but nothing like this. This is a one in a trillion event, and so he is in shock [and] has a 9-year-old son. We are in constant contact with him. We’re very worried about his family and his kid, and we’re eagerly awaiting for the sheriff’s department telling us what their investigation has yielded.” Andres Leighton/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Dave Halls, the assistant director on Rust, released a statement in which he praised his “friend” Hutchins. “I’m shocked and saddened by her death,” he said. “It’s my hope that this tragedy prompts the industry to reevaluate its values and practices to ensure no one is harmed through the creative process again.” He continued, “My thoughts are with all who knew and loved Halyna.” Halls did not address the details of the incident or the reports that he was the one who handed Baldwin the gun involved in the shooting. Jae C Hong/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Baldwin reposted a thread from Terese Magpale Davis, who worked on Rust as a costume designer, outlining what they allege really happened on set. Davis’ post, which the actor shared via his Instagram account on November 2, claimed “the story being spun of us being overworked and surrounded by unsafe, chaotic conditions is bulls—t.” Davis stated that she “never worked more than a 12.5-hour shoot day,” saying that only happened once and “most days” were under the 12-hour mark. She recalled the day that Hutchins died, saying, “We had come off a 12-hour turnaround after an 11-hour shoot day,” noting they had a “56-hour weekend right before” the prolonged day. “No one was too tired to do their jobs,” she said. She refuted claims that the producers on the film didn’t care about their crew, writing, “They were some of the most approachable and warm producers I’ve ever worked with.” Davis explained that “concerns were heard and addressed” by the producers. According to her, the crew had a union rep who told production “not to give in to the camera crew” demands because they were asking for things that “the union does not require.” Davis alleged that she has spoken with the producers on the project since the accident, and they told her they have chosen not to defend themselves against the “blatantly false accusations” because they want the “focus to be on Halyna” and they want to “grieve and recover.” Kristina Bumphrey/StarPix/Shutterstock ![]() Matthew Hutchins, the husband of the late cinematographer, has retained California-based law firm Panish Shea Boyle Ravipudi, according to Deadline. Lynne Spears Wants Daughter Britney’s Team to Pay Her Legal Bills Posted: 04 Nov 2021 12:28 PM PDT For the longest time, it seemed as though Britney Spears' dark days were finally behind her. After suffering a much-publicized breakdown in 2007 and 2008, the Princess of Pop came out on top, taking home one award after another and landing a four-year Las Vegas residency that grossed nearly $138 million. In February 2019, Spears was set to return to the Las Vegas Strip for Piece of Me's follow-up, Domination. However, she announced a month before the scheduled kickoff date that she would be taking an indefinite work hiatus to care for her ailing father, Jamie Spears, who underwent a life-threatening surgery after his colon spontaneously ruptured the previous fall. Britney subsequently went dark on social media, only posting in mid-January 2019 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her debut album, …Baby One More Time. She did not return until April 2019, when she posted on Instagram that she was taking "a little 'me time.'" Within minutes, news broke that Britney had quietly checked into a California mental health facility in late March for a 30-day stay. A source told Us Weekly exclusively that the Grammy winner decided to seek help after the stress of her dad's hospitalization and the complex process of changing the medications she had been taking for an undisclosed mental illness. The news rocked the Britney Army, which began speculating about the pop star's well-being and picking up the #FreeBritney movement launched by the cohosts of a podcast dedicated to Britney's Instagram. Her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, was quick to shut down unfounded rumors surrounding the "Toxic" singer, writing via Instagram, "I have been here long before anyone else, and I'll be here long after. I love my sister with everything I have. So, anyone or anything that speaks to the contrary can GTFOH with all the comments about what you don't understand. Do not come for me or the ones I love anymore." Britney herself spoke out later that day, assuring fans in a video message that "all is well." The Crossroads actress has been unable to make major personal or financial decisions in her life without the approval of her father since a court-approved conservatorship was put in place in February 2008 after her meltdown and divorce from Kevin Federline, with whom she shares sons Preston and Jayden. As a result, co-conservators Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallett had long been credited with saving Britney's life. Wallett abruptly resigned in March 2019, leaving Jamie as the sole conservator until he temporarily stepped down that September following an alleged altercation with Preston. (Jamie was later cleared of wrongdoing.) Licensed fiduciary Jodi Montgomery has since assumed Jamie's position, though he still has partial control of Britney's estate. Britney spoke out against her conservatorship for the first time in June 2021. "The main reason why I'm here is because I want to end the conservatorship without being evaluated," she said during a court hearing, adding: “I just want my life back. It’s been 13 years, and it’s enough.” Two months after Britney laid it all on the table during her court hearing, Jamie filed documents agreeing to step down as the conservator of his daughter’s estate, asserting “he does not believe that a public battle with his daughter over his continuing service as her conservator would be in her best interests.” Jamie was suspended as conservator of the estate in September 2021 before requesting two months later that the conservatorship end "immediately." He also argued that her medical and financial issues are “inextricably entwined” and that unsealing the details of one could expose the other. Courtesy Britney Spears/Instagram ![]() Britney objected to the reappointment of Wallet as co-conservator of her estate in court documents filed on September 11, 2020, saying the attorney is “uniquely unsuitable to fill that role” and “had little or no direct contact” with her over the years. Her lawyer, Ingham, argued that bringing Wallet back onto the case would be “a very poor value that Britney cannot afford” given she has not performed in years. The paperwork then laid out the exorbitant amounts of money that Britney has paid her team. On top of his $426,000 annual salary, Wallet received a $100,000 “golden parachute” after his “voluntary resignation” in March 2019. Then, in December 2019, Jamie “modified the compensation” of Britney’s business manager Lou Taylor’s firm, Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group, to “a minimum annual fee of $500,000,” which was “more than double the amount” that Tri Star previously received. “[Jamie] has taken the position that Britney’s decision not to perform will require him to undertake drastic changes to her budget. Apparently, this frugality does not extend to the fees [Jamie] pays from the conservatorship to the financial professionals with whom he surrounds himself,” Ingham said in the documents. “Apart from the fact that Mr. Wallet has been extremely expensive in the past, based on what occurred over the 11 years he served as her co-conservator there is no reason to believe that Mr. Wallet will be able to work with Britney to explain and implement any difficult budgetary choices that must be made.” In response three days later, Jamie claimed that Britney’s filing was full of “untrue” and “misleading” statements and denied that Tri Star is compensated more now than the firm had been in the past. The judge in the case ruled in Britney's favor on October 14, 2020, and allowed the firm to be brought on to help the pop star regain control of her estate. “The mere presence of Loeb & Loeb has already provoked a massive change,” Ingham said during an hourlong court hearing, referencing Jamie dropping his petition to bring back Wallet. The judge ordered both parties to discuss the issue and gave them due dates to file various briefs ahead of a hearing on November 10, 2020. In his response on October 23, 2020, Jamie denied Ingham’s claim that Britney “lacks the capacity” to speak for herself, arguing that she has the “right to be heard” even as a conservatee. The filing addressed a letter that Jamie had filed in October, in which he agreed to have Bessemer Trust as a co-conservator after Britney asked for the trust to be the sole conservator of her estate moving forward. Britney’s lawyer claimed that Jamie hired a new business manager without consulting his daughter after Taylor of Tri Star Sports and Entertainment Group “suddenly” resigned from the role. "The October 28 letter is a blatant attempt by James to retain full functional control of her assets, books and records in the face of Britney's objections, Tri Star's resignation and the appointment of Bessemer Trust,” the document read. “His simple litigation strategy is to introduce a new gatekeeper who admittedly has a major working relationship with his legal team.” The paperwork continued: “It is now obvious that any effort to create a viable working relationship between and among Britney, Bessemeer Trust and James would be doomed to failure even without the added stress of litigating Britney's objections to the Account.” Jamie made a case for why he should remain co-conservator of the estate in court documents obtained by TMZ on November 8, 2020. He argued that he succeeded in managing her business affairs and assets for years and even saved her from debt at one point. Jamie also took credit for making sure that Britney had a business manager, Taylor, whom he claimed resigned over death threats from fans. Matt Baron/Shutterstock; Nick Ut/AP/Shutterstock ![]() A court hearing was held on November 10, 2020, to determine whether Jamie would remain the co-conservator of Britney’s estate. However, the judge ultimately decided not to suspend Jamie, saying the matter can be further discussed “down the road.” She did, however, approve Bessemer Trust to oversee the estate with Jamie. During the hearing, Ingham alleged that Britney informed him “she is afraid of her father” and that she “will not perform as long as her father is in charge of her career.” Jamie’s lawyer denied the claim. Lynne’s attorney, meanwhile, said the matriarch supports Britney and wants her ex-husband “to be a part of [Britney’s] life,” although “it has broken her heart to watch” the family’s court drama unfold. Ahead of the hearing, Britney filed an objection to her dad’s financial report, claiming Jamie approved a $308,975 payment to Tri Star without her knowledge. “Objector [Britney] believes that the retroactive fees paid to Tri Star ... are excessive and should be disallowed in their entirety as a credit on the accounting,” Ingham said in court documents obtained by Us. The judge left it open for Britney’s lawyers to file another petition in the future should she still want to have Jamie removed. “It is no secret that my client does not want her father as co-conservator, but we recognize that removal is a separate issue,” Ingham said in court before requesting that Jamie and the trust company “work together” to come up with an investment plan and a proposed budget for Britney. After the hearing, Jamie’s attorney, Thoreen, said in a statement to Us, “The probate court’s rulings today show the court’s confidence in our client Jamie Spears and Bessemer Trust to manage the conservatorship of Ms. Spears’ estate together. Britney’s conservatorship of the estate was comanaged by a private professional fiduciary and her father until early 2019. At that time, Britney requested in court papers that her father be the sole conservator of her estate. Shutterstock (2) ![]() The ACLU filed a petition on July 12, 2021, asking the court to grant them "confidential communication" with the pop star to offer "supported decision making services" after her attorney's resignation. The civil rights organization also applied to file a brief as an impartial advisor to help Britney select her own lawyer, per a source. Attorneys with the ACLU asked if they could present their petition during the July 14, 2021, hearing and asked the court to authorize an order within 10 days so their attorneys could meet with Britney. A status report would be filed after the meeting. "This petition offers the Court and Ms. Spears a mechanism to make that system of informed, supported choice a reality," docs obtained by Us read. "Petitioner here request confidential communication with Ms. Spears to make sure she is aware of the concept of supported decision-making, and to learn whether she wishes to use supported decision-making to select a successor lawyer. If she so wishes, and if she wishes to consider Petitioner as supporters, Petitioners seek the Court's leave to provide this support to Ms. Spears. As a nonprofit organization with no vested interest in the outcome of this case, Petitioners offer their services confidentially and without cost." Ken McKay/ITV/Shutterstock ![]() After Britney's father petitioned for a "court-ordered investigation," Montgomery fired back in a filing of her own. "This Court should not take the bait," a July 12, 2021, filing read. "Mr. Spears' thinly veiled attempt to clear his name is absolutely procedurally defective, and must fail. Barring that, the Petition should be continued until Ms. Spears has counsel who can fully represent her interests." Montgomery asserted that she "is in full support" of Britney's claims being verified and is "preparing a comprehensive care plan" with the singer's medical team to "offer [her] a path to ending her Conservatorship of the Person, as she so unequivocally desire." Shutterstock; LinkedIn; Shutterstock ![]() At a July 2021 hearing, Britney was granted the right to choose her own lawyer for the first time since her conservatorship began in 2008. The judge approved her chosen attorney, Mathew Rosengart, a former federal prosecutor. “I’m here to get rid of my dad and charge him with conservatorship abuse,” the pop star said during the hearing, adding that she is “extremely scared” of her father. “This conservatorship has allowed my dad to ruin my life.” Ken McKay/ITV/Shutterstock ![]() After Rosengart filed documents in July 2021 requesting Jason Rubin replace the musician’s father as the conservator of her estate, her health team supported the motion with a filing of their own. Montgomery argued in court documents at the time that she and the rest of the singer’s medical staff are on board with Jamie being replaced. "[Jamie] should not continue to act as the Conservatee's Conservator of the Estate, because his doing so is not in the best interest of the Conservatee," the filing read. "Because the paramount concern for this Conservatorship is doing what is in the best interest of the Conservatee, Petitioner hereby joins Conservatee in the Removal Petition." The docs continued: "Ms. Montgomery respectfully notes that Ms. Spears's medical team agrees that it is not in the best interest of the Conservatee for Mr. Spears to be and remain Conservator of the Estate. Ms. Montgomery believes in good faith that Ms. Spears's best interests are served by granting the Removal Petition and removing Mr. Spears and replacing him as Conservator of the Estate with Mr. Rubin as requested in the Appointment Petition." Courtesy Britney Spears/Instagram ![]() Britney’s attorney filed an emergency motion on August 4, 2021, to move up a September 29, 2021, hearing. According to court documents obtained by Us, the "Lucky" singer requested that the hearing to suspend Jamie as conservator occur after August 23, 2021, but no later than September 5, 2021. As an alternative, Britney also asked the judge to immediately suspend Jamie and appoint Jason Rubin as conservator of her estate. Brian J Ritchie/Hot Sauce/Shutterstock; Shutterstock ![]() In August 2021, Us confirmed that the judge denied the emergency motion to move up a September hearing or, as an alternative option, to immediately remove Jamie as conservator of her estate. The next hearing is still set for September 29. MEGA; Shutterstock ![]() Jamie filed court docs to begin the process of leaving Britney's conservatorship team in August 2021, noting at the time, "Regardless of his formal title, Mr. Spears will always be Ms. Spears' father, he will always love her unconditionally, and he will always look out for her best interests." The Grammy winner's attorney later told Us, "This is a major victory for Britney Spears and another step toward justice. ... We look forward to continuing our vigorous investigation into the conduct of Mr. Spears, and others, over the past 13 years, while he reaped millions of dollars from his daughter's estate, and I look forward to taking Mr. Spears' sworn deposition in the near future." Shutterstock (2) ![]() After Jamie expressed plans to step down after resolving issues such as "the pending Twelfth Account and a final account," Britney's attorney hit back at the request. In a supplemental petition on August 30, Rosengart explained that the singer's father would not be getting any more money. According to the legal docs, Jamie was requesting payments for "continu[ing] to do my best to keep current regarding the music, advertising and entertainment business," as well as legal work involving "public, media, and social media attention." Rosengart added that Jamie and his legal team were "now on notice" after the request. "The status quo is no longer tolerable, and Britney Spears will not be extorted," Rosengart wrote in the docs. "Mr. Spears’s blatant attempt to barter suspension and removal in exchange for approximately $2 million in payments, on top of the millions already reaped from Ms. Spears’s estate by Mr. Spears and his associates, is a non-starter." Shutterstock ![]() Days after announcing her engagement, Britney urged the judge to immediately end Jamie’s involvement in her conservatorship so that she could move forward with creating a prenuptial agreement with Asghari. On September 23, 2021, the singer's fiduciary accountant, Jason Rubin, exited and she requested that John Zabel, the CEO of Media Finance, take over as temporary conservator of her estate. Shutterstock (2) ![]() In September 2021, Jamie filed paperwork to terminate his role as conservator of his daughter's estate on the basis that he didn't think it was "longer required." According to court documents obtained by Us, Jamie's petition mentioned that since the start of the conservatorship in 2008, things have changed and now "grounds for establishment of a conservatorship may no longer exist." The legal docs also argued that Jamie didn't think a psychological evaluation would be necessary in order for him to step down and for the conservatorship to end. In a statement to Us, Britney's attorney called the new petition a "massive legal victory." "Having exposed his misconduct and improper plan to hold his daughter hostage by trying to extract a multimillion-dollar settlement, Mr. Spears has now effectively surrendered," Rosengart noted. The attorney added that even though Jamie has decided to step down from his role as guardian of her estate, he still can't "avoid accountability and justice" as their "investigation into financial mismanagement and other issues" will keep moving forward. Shutterstock (2) ![]() While she never spoke out against the conservatorship publicly until 2021, Netflix unearthed a voicemail in the teaser trailer for Britney vs. Spears in September 2021 that indicated she has been fighting to end the legal guardianship for over a decade. In the clip, the singer called a lawyer in January 2009 about “the process of eliminating the conservatorship.” Jim Ruymen/UPI/Shutterstock ![]() The musician commented on The New York Times Presents “Controlling Britney Spears” documentary, which claims Britney’s security team (and her father) monitored her phone calls, in September 2021 via Instagram. “It's really crazy guys ... I watched a little bit of the last documentary and I hate to inform you but a lot of what you heard is not true!!!” she wrote. The same day, Britney’s lawyer slammed her father, Jamie, for his alleged part in the bugging scandal. “The Times reported that Mr. Spears engaged in horrifying and unconscionable invasions of his adult daughter’s privacy,” Rosengart said in court documents filed in September 2021. “Specifically, the Times reported that he and others 'ran an intense surveillance apparatus that monitored [Ms. Spears’s] communications' and also evidently captured attorney-client communications with her prior lawyer, which communications are a sacrosanct part of the legal system. Even more shockingly, the Times reported that Mr. Spears and his cohorts 'secretly captured audio recordings from her bedroom,' including private communications with her children. Mr. Spears has crossed unfathomable lines.” The filing called for Jamie’s immediate suspension from his role as conservator of her estate when Britney’s hearing takes place on September 29. "To be clear, his suspension will not impede the ultimate termination of the entire conservatorship, as Mr. Spears will be required during the transition to work with his temporary successor,” her attorney wrote. “The only thing Mr. Spears will ‘lose’ is something he should not have ever had — the ability to further harm his daughter." MEGA; Shutterstock ![]() Jamie was suspended as conservator of Britney’s estate during a September 29, 2021, hearing. The judge appointed John Zabel as the singer’s temporary conservator until December 31, 2021. Montgomery's role as the conservator of Britney's person will continue through the end of December. Both legal teams will return to court on November 12 to determine whether the conservatorship will be terminated completely. Shutterstock ![]() In November 2021, Jamie filed a report calling for the "immediate" termination of Britney's conservatorship. "Jamie unconditionally loves and supports his daughter," he wrote in court documents obtained by Us. "Full stop. As he has done for her entire life, Jamie will do everything he can to protect and care for her. For the last 13 years, that included serving as her Conservator. Now, it means ending her Conservatorship. So it is said in no uncertain terms, Jamie believes that the Conservatorship should end, immediately." He also reiterated the need for the conservatorship when it was implemented in 2008, but noted again that he thinks it should be ended as soon as possible. "The fact is that 13 years ago, a conservatorship was necessary to protect Britney in every sense of the word," he wrote. "Her life was in shambles and she was in physical, emotional, mental and financial distress. Through the Conservatorship, Britney has been able to return to a path towards stability in all of these phases of her life. The mission has been successful and it is now time for Britney to re-take control of her life. Not tomorrow or next week, now." Nick Ut/AP/Shutterstock; Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock |

'Siesta Key' Cast's Dating Histories: A Guide to Who's Hooked Up With Who Posted: 04 Nov 2021 12:19 PM PDT Finding love on the beach! Since its 2017 debut on MTV, Siesta Key has featured hookups, breakups, makeups and everything in between. When the show debuted, Alex Kompothecras was at the center. He was introduced as the most popular guy in the Florida town and had worked his charm on many of the women in the area. Before the show began filming, he had a relationship with his lifelong friend Madisson Hausburg and went on to date Juliette Porter and Kelsey Owens before settling down and starting a family with Alyssa Salerno. Madisson, for her part, had an up-and-down journey of her own, dating Brandon Gomes until he cheated. She eventually settled down with the last person anyone expected: the show’s former producer Ish Soto who is 20 years older than her. "It's been a really, really tough journey with, like, social media and just, like, having everyone, you know, constantly tear something that you cherish so much," Madisson told Us Weekly exclusively in May 2021. "It's really tough. I mean, I'm so grateful that people care and want to, you know, put their two cents in and have their opinions and, like, are so invested in our show. But at the same time, like, it's really hard to put ourselves out there and then to get so much criticism in return.” Over the course of the show, fans saw her get emotional when talking about the couple’s future with her family, who didn’t always support the relationship. Eventually, her parents came around and the twosome got engaged in 2020, but had a difficult time planning amid the coronavirus pandemic. "It's a struggle for sure," she said at the time. "It's weird to plan a wedding. We can't have, you know, groups of a hundred people. I wouldn't feel comfortable with that. And I know he wouldn't. So it's tough to plan the dream wedding when you're in COVID." After a season of talking about how much she couldn’t wait to become a mother, Madisson announced her first pregnancy in August 2021. Scroll through the gallery below for a breakdown of everyone who’s dated on Siesta Key: ![]() The original star of Siesta Key dated Madisson throughout high school, then moved on to Juliette during the first season of the show. Andy Cohen Remembers His Mom’s ‘Great’ Reaction When He Came Out Posted: 04 Nov 2021 12:19 PM PDT Sharing with pride! Celebrities like Raven-Symoné, Dan Levy and more have become important figures within the LGBTQ community as they've championed equality both on and offscreen. The That's So Raven alum's personal life became the subject of headlines in August 2013 when she tweeted her reaction to the legalization of same-sex marriage. "I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you," she wrote at the time. Three years later, she spoke about her journey to self-acceptance and admitted that she "never thought" she would publicly come out. "Being on television sets from age 3 till age 30, I'm more comfortable there," she said in a May 2016 video for the Lexus L/Studio docuseries It Got Better. "I know what lines I'm supposed to say. Somebody else picks my clothes for me. I have makeup done. I have hair done. And you create a family with these people that sometimes are closer to you than your own family." The Disney alum felt like she couldn't be honest about her sexuality because she had been "branded at such a young age" to fit the network's image. "I never thought I would come out because my personal life didn't matter," she said at the time. "It was only what was supposed to be sold as the Raven-Symoné brand." Though she'd known she was attracted to women from a young age, the former The View cohost took her time when approaching her sexuality in public. Levy, for his part, came out to his parents when he was 18 — but once feared that he would always have to hide his identity from the rest of the world. "I legitimately thought that I would have to live with this secret — my being gay — for the rest of my life because I didn't have the security of seeing a lot of people like myself being celebrated in popular culture," the Schitt's Creek creator and star said in September 2019 at the GLAAD Gala in San Francisco. "Had I not had the love to give me a sense of security, I don't know if I would have found my way out of the closet, let alone create the opportunity for myself to tell stories on television that have effected some kind of positive change in the world." The Emmy winner portrayed queer romance with positivity across the six seasons of Pop TV's Schitt's Creek, which came to an end in early 2020. Though the Rose family is no more, Levy vowed to keep telling honest stories for his communities. "Support, encouragement and love: three relatively simple acts of kindness that can change the course of a person's life," he said at the time. "I promise to continue to do my part in celebrating this radiant community in all the work that I do, big and small." Scroll down to learn more about stars' coming out stories. ![]() The Bravo host recalled coming out to his mom during a November 2021 appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. "Great quote from my mom when I came out to her,” Cohen explained while discussing her notable lines in his Glitter Every Day: 365 Quotes From Women I Love book. “Her response was, 'I probably would have hated your wife anyway.' And you know what, she probably would have!” Scott Kowalchyk/CBS ![]() The Designated Survivor alum opened up about his sexuality his November 2021 book, You Can't Be Serious. Penn revealed he has been in a relationship with his partner, Josh, for 11 years, and they are engaged. "I mean, you know, Josh and I've been together for 11 years," Penn told CBS' Sunday Morning in October 2021 while promoting his memoir. "We had our 11th anniversary in October. So, for me and writing about it, I think the tricky thing was, you're right, it's very matter-of-fact in our lives, and when you're the son of Indian immigrants who says that you want to be an actor, the chaos that that creates in your family and your community, will trump anything else, always." MediaPunch/Shutterstock ![]() During an October 2021 episode of Teen Mom OG, Amber revealed that writing her second memoir inspired her to come out as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. "People are going to be a bit shocked that I am bisexual," the reality star told producers at the time. "That I have had a relationship with a woman for 8 months before." Even though the 16 and Pregnant alum wasn't sure that everyone in her life would be open to her news, she explained that she was coming out because of her children. "[They] are a really big factor of why," Amber — who shares daughter Leah with ex Gary Shirley and son James with ex Andrew Glennon — said at the time. "I don't want them to ever think it's bad. I don't want them to look at other people who are like this and think it's bad. Who am I to sit here and hide forever? Which is actually what I was planning on doing anyways. I was going to go to the grave with this." AMI/MEGA ![]() The Mistress of the Dark, a.k.a. Cassandra Peterson, publicly came out in her 2021 memoir, reflecting on being friends with her longtime girlfriend, Teresa Wierson, for six years before things turned romantic. "After coming home from a movie, I told her goodnight and suddenly felt compelled to kiss her — on the mouth. As shocked as she was, I think I was even more surprised. What the hell was I doing?" Elvira wrote in Yours Cruelly, Elvira: Memoirs of the Mistress of the Dark. "I'd never been interested in women as anything other than friends. I felt so confused." Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() The Never Have I Ever star reflected on her own coming out journey, months after her Netflix character did the same. Her character, Fabiola, identifies as a lesbian while Rodriguez came out as queer in October 2020. “It is ultimately my choice to share,” she wrote in a Cosmopolitan essay published in August 2021. “I could have kept it to myself, and I would have been just fine. But I feel like people were assuming based on my past dating history, which I didn’t appreciate. I asked, ‘Why are people assuming my sexuality?’ I kind of felt pressured, in a way, to share that part of me. I knew it was going to be a thing when taking on the role of Fabiola and I was prepared for that because it’s not okay for straight actors to take queer roles. I personally would not have taken the role if I wasn’t.” She added, “When people kept asking me [about her identity], I felt like maybe I didn’t look like a queer person. But you shouldn’t have to explain your queerness. You don't owe anyone an explanation for your queerness or proof that you're a valid queer person.” MediaPunch/Shutterstock ![]() During a September 2021 podcast with Demi Lovato, Hampshire revealed that people began asking if she was gay after she began dating Teddy Geiger, who had come out as transgender in 2017. "I said to [my Schitt's Creek costar] Dan [Levy], 'This is so weird. What am I?' Because I truly just fell in love with a person, and where they were on the gender spectrum did not matter to me. And since then, it really doesn’t matter to me. I have to like the person. I'm really attracted to a person's vibe," she shared. Levy then recalled the fan-favorite scene in which David and Stevie talk about their broader tastes in wine. "He was like, 'You're pansexual. Don't you watch our show?'" Shutterstock ![]() The RuPaul’s Drag Race alum came out as trans-nonbinary in August 2021. "Almost eight months ago, in January, right at the beginning of the year, I decided to begin the process of hormone replacement therapy,” the model said in an Instagram video. “Which is the process of taking estrogen and testosterone blockers, differing on the person, as a means of bringing in the woman and pushing out the man.” The reality star then confirmed that she identifies as "a trans-nonbinary person" who uses she/her pronouns. She also revealed that she’s in the process of legally changing her name to Gigi. "I knew when I started, I wanted this to be a journey I was going on by myself, on my own, without any input from the outside world," Goode concluded, insisting she kept her story private until she had time to process everything on her own. "The only people that really knew that I was going through this were me and my mom and my close friends living across the street, which is exactly the way that I wanted it, up until this point." Lev Radin/Pacific Press/Shutterstock ![]() The Good Girls actress came out as pansexual in August 2021. “I know ppl might be unfamiliar with what pansexual means; for me it means I know I can fall in love with people of all genders,” she tweeted. “This is the word that fits me best and I’m proud+happy to be part of the Bi+ community :,).” Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() The Crown star publicly came out as queer in August 2021, after previously posting photos wearing a chest binder. At the time, the England native shared an ITV News interview clip about their sexuality via Instagram, captioning it, “First time addressing my queerness and my journey on TV was scary! But visibility is key!” In the video, the Golden Globes winner said, "My journey has been a long one and has still got a long way to go. I think we are so used to defining ourselves. That's the way society works within these binaries and it's taken me a long time to realize that I exist somewhere in between and I'm still not sure where that is yet." Magnus Sundholm/Shutterstock ![]() The Below Deck Mediterranean star came out as sexually fluid to his coworkers in an August 2021 episode of the Bravo show. "I was absolutely not planning on opening up about that whatsoever. It was purely an in-the-moment thing, the level of comfort and security I felt around [my team], and the topics of conversation that had previously been discussed that evening was certainly a big factor in that," the reality star told E! News about deciding to share his truth on television. In the episode, the deckhand labeled himself as "90 percent straight," which he noted wasn't actually right. "Yeah the 90 percent straight thing was my realization that I said it on television and kind of trying to stop it from spiraling to a full confessional of my entire life, but if I were to put it in a statement of such, I completely believe in like a fluid spectrum and as any part of my life, I might move on that spectrum up or down," he added at the time. Laurent Basset/Bravo ![]() The 13 Reasons Why star publicly disclosed her transgender identity during a conversation with Time magazine in July 2021, noting that she'd been "privately identifying and living as a woman" for an entire year. "It's funny to think about coming out because I haven't gone anywhere," she said, calling her transition a "liberating and clarifying" experience. "I view today as a reintroduction to me as a woman, having made a transition medically. Coming out is always viewed as this grand reveal, but I was never not out. Today is about clarity: I am a trans woman. My pronouns are she/her. My name is Tommy. ... Personally, it's wild to be 29 and going through puberty again. Some days I feel like I'm 14." Courtesy of Tommy Dorfman/Instagram ![]() Family Karma star Amrit Kapai recalled the emotional moment he first came out to his grandmother on television during an interview with Entertainment Tonight in July 2021. “I'm not going to lie to you, I was very overwhelmed when I was re-watching it and re-experiencing it all over again. But I thought the final product was so tasteful," Kapai said in the interview. "I mean, with a moment like that, there isn't any editing that's necessary because the words, the conversation, the expressions, everything speaks for itself and everything speaks volumes. Putting aside that, it was a little bit of a somber moment, and there were some happy, there were some sad, but overall, I was very satisfied with how the finished product came out.” The reality star added that the Bravo series aired about “90 percent” of the conversation as it happened. “There was no sugarcoating any of it,” he continued. “There was no beating around the bush. That's how I remember it. I know I said I blacked it out, not because I was under the influence, but because it's one of those moments in life where you just... It's a very intense moment, and we block those out of our memory for better or for worse. It was a lot to re-watch over again and experience it all over again.” Tommy Garcia/Bravo ![]() The Teen Wolf star revealed how his girlfriend, musician Phem, helped him embrace his sexuality. “[Phem] helped me realize that I fit under the queer umbrella and that I’m sexually fluid, I guess,” Posey told NME magazine in July 2021. “No, not ‘I guess,’ I don’t want anyone to take this [interview] and be like: ‘Well, he was kind of wishy-washy about it.'” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() After being asked by a fan during an Instagram Live if he identified as gay, the Shazam actor responded, “I’m bi.” Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() "I just wanted to take a quick moment to say that I'm gay. Nassib, who is the first active NFL player to be publicly out, shared that he would also be donating $100,000 to The Trevor Project in an attempt to help raise awareness. "I just think that representation and visibility are so important," the Las Vegas Raiders defense end continued. "I actually hope that one day videos like this and the whole coming out process are just not necessary. But until then, I'm going to do my best and do my part to cultivate a culture that's accepting, that's compassionate." Uncredited/AP/Shutterstock ![]() American Idol season 7 runner-up revealed in June 2021 that he hadn’t figured out a label, but he knows he is part of the LGBTQ community. "I’ve been open to myself and my close family for some years now that I am not sure about my own sexuality," Archuleta wrote via Instagram. "I came out in 2014 as gay to my family. But then I had similar feelings for both genders so maybe a spectrum of bisexual. Then I also have learned I don’t have too much sexual desires and urges as most people 💀which works I guess because I have a commitment to save myself until marriage 🤣. Which people call asexual when they don’t experience sexual urges." The devout Mormon also called on his fellow Christians to be more accepting of those who aren’t heteronormative and shared a message of encouragement for LGBTQ Christians who are struggling. “I don’t feel comfortable sharing it, but felt I needed to bring more awareness to people in my same situation and let you know you’re not alone. "The biggest thing for me is where I come from, it’s like people like me and people who have identified as bisexual or gay or as any part of the community, you’re just not welcomed. It’s as brutally honest as that." Rubinstein also added that his girlfriend, Jessica Parker Kennedy, fully supported him in this journey. What's Going on With Pete Davidson and Kim K.? Celebrities Weigh In Posted: 04 Nov 2021 12:18 PM PDT Even the stars want answers! Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian‘s recent outings have raised eyebrows among both fans and fellow celebrities. The duo first connected when Kardashian, 41, hosted Saturday Night Live on October 9. In one of the sketches, the reality star locked lips with the Set It Up actor, 27, while they were imitating Jasmine and Aladdin, respectively. Several weeks later, Kardashian was spotted holding hands with the Guy Code alum while riding a roller-coaster at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. Travis Barker, Kourtney Kardashian, Stephanie Shepherd, Harry Hudson and other friends also tagged along for the fun-filled trip. While some fans were convinced sparks might be flying between the KKW Beauty founder and the Meet Cute actor as they went on to spend time together in New York City, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the twosome “are just friends right now.” According to the insider, “No one really knows what is going on with Kim and Pete. … Things could turn romantic.” The California native filed for divorce from Kanye West in February after nearly seven years of marriage. The estranged pair share children North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2. Before she was linked to Davidson, Kim had some concerns about getting back into the dating world amid her divorce. “She’s not focused on dating at the moment but actually worries that guys will not want to date her because of how public her relationship was with Kanye,” an insider told Us in June. “She also knows how hard it is to build trust with someone, so she thinks it’s going to take time before letting someone into her private life. It was easy with Kanye because they were friends before so they had years’ worth of trust.” Davidson, for his part, most recently sparked a whirlwind romance with Phoebe Dynevor. Us exclusively confirmed in April that the pair were dating after they were spotted getting cozy in the U.K. one month prior. They attended their first event as a couple in July during the Wimbledon tennis tournament, but by the following month, they had split. “The distance put a strain on the relationship and it made it hard to maintain,” a source exclusively noted in August, adding that Davidson and the Bridgerton actress, 26, “had a great time while they were together.” Scroll down to see how celebs are reacting to Davidson’s rumored romance with the Skims CEO: ![]() The Underworld actress, who briefly dated Davidson in 2019, was caught "liking" a meme about the comedian's "nice personality" helping him win over major Hollywood stars. Lisa Rinna Speaks Out After Daughter Delilah Belle Reveals Hospitalization Posted: 04 Nov 2021 12:13 PM PDT ![]() Coming together. After Delilah Belle Hamlin got honest about recent health issues, Lisa Rinna addressed the impact of her daughter’s words. “Thank you to all of the angels who have reached out, sharing their stories, sending their love and prayers, we are so grateful to you all for your help and your guidance!!” Rinna, 58, who also shares Amelia Gray Hamlin with husband Harry Hamlin, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, November 3. Delilah, 23, recently got honest about her “scary” health journey in a 30-minute Instagram video on Tuesday, November 2. “Basically, in the beginning of the year, I want to say February and March, is when I got my COVID-19 vaccine,” she explained. “And after the second vaccine, I was sick for, like, 36 hours. I felt like my bones were breaking but, like, whatever. … That’s when everything kind of started.” The California native, who clarified that she was not anti-vaccine, detailed how the second dose “flared up and triggered certain autoimmune diseases” that she wasn’t aware she had. “I started getting really sick, I started feeling like I had the flu. I was getting migraines, I was having panic attacks — it was like my body was in constant ‘fight or flight’ mode. It was horrible,” she said at the time. “I just knew in my gut that there was something else wrong.” After attempting to seek treatment for her panic attacks with a psychiatrist, Delilah revealed that she was over-prescribed and told to take “three milligrams of Xanax a day.” “My body got dependent on Xanax number one, and number two, I overdosed. I didn’t mean to at all. I overdosed on this one medication called Propranolol,” Delilah shared during the video. “I took Benadryl with it and, for some reason, I ended up in the hospital.” An Arizona center, which Delilah emphasized was not a rehab facility, helped her kick her dependence on Xanax but didn’t aid her mental health struggles. “I’m having seizures left and right,” she continued. “My health is getting scary. … Unfortunately, I was I think a medical risk, so I was politely asked to leave after three weeks of being there and making a best friend.” During the lengthy clip, Delilah said she was currently dealing with Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS), Epstein-Barr virus and Encephalitis. Delilah also revealed that she had been in contact with her mother’s former costar Yolanda Hadid, who has been vocal about her journey with Lyme disease in the past. Although the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars struggled to come back from Rinna questioning Hadid, 57, amid her 2012 diagnosis, Delilah thanked the Netherlands native for her advice. “Mentally I am not great, today,” Delilah added. “I’m feeling hopeless since the last place I went to didn’t really work out. I can look perfectly fine and feel perfectly horrible. That’s just that. That’s something I struggle with mentally, is feeling believed.” If you or someone you know is struggling with substance abuse, contact the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357). |
Tiger King’s Joe Exotic Reveals Cancer Diagnosis, Requests Prison Release Posted: 04 Nov 2021 12:04 PM PDT Asking for help. Joe Exotic is hoping to get released from prison after learning that he has an "aggressive" form of cancer. "Doctors called me in today to break the news that my prostate biopsy came back with an aggressive cancer," the 58-year-old tweeted on Wednesday, November 3. The Tiger King star, whose real name Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage, pointed out that his longtime rival Carole Baskin "will have her own party" over the news. Additionally, the former Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park owner outlined his plans to end his 22-year prison stay early amid his health issues. He is currently in jail for allegedly orchestrating a foiled murder-for-hire plot to kill Baskin, 60, and multiple wildlife violations. "Right now, I don't want anyone's pity," the former Oklahoma zookeeper wrote in the letter to "everyone" dated October 27. "What I need is the world to be my voice to be released." The reality star claimed that the courts "have the proof I did not go this" and therefore "there is no reason for the U.S. Attorney to drag this out." Maldonado-Passage pleaded with his fans to help persuade the powers that be to get him early release so he can "go home and get treatment on my own or enjoy what I life I have left with my loved ones." He concluded: "Say a prayer please. Be my voice please." In 2019, the Kansas native was convicted of 17 federal charges of animal abuse and two counts of attempted murder-for-hire after allegedly hiring a hitman to kill Baskin, who is the CEO of Big Cat Rescue in Florida. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison in January 2020, two months before his story became the central focus of Netflix's Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness. Earlier this year, Maldonado-Passage announced via social media that he and husband Dillon Passage were getting divorced. The couple met in November 2017 and wed one month later. Most of their marriage has been spent with the "Here Kitty Kitty" musician behind bars. "Dillon thinks having to sleep alone and not have me out there is so rough and hard to deal with to the point he has to leave me," the Netflix star wrote via Instagram in March. "Now I don't even have a home." Days later, Maldonado-Passage's lawyer Francisco Hernandez confirmed to Us Weekly that the duo had chosen to press pause on the divorce proceedings. After a phone call between the couple, they decided they will "stay married right now so things don't get complicated," Hernandez said in March. Guys' Night! Randall Emmett Leans On Jax Taylor After Lala Kent Split Posted: 04 Nov 2021 11:55 AM PDT ![]() A friendly face. Randall Emmett leaned on Jax Taylor during a recent outing in Los Angeles following his split from Lala Kent, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. The Midnight in the Switchgrass director, 50, was spotted at dinner with the former Vanderpump Rules star, 42, on Wednesday, November 3. The men enjoyed a meal at Casa Vega in the Studio City neighborhood of L.A. with an eyewitness telling Us, "It was just a guys' night and Lala was nowhere in sight.” Throughout the night, Emmett was seen "venting" to Taylor — who left the reality series in December 2020 after eight years — seemingly "needing some advice or someone to talk to," per the source. The boys' night came hours after Kent, 31, addressed her split from Emmett during the Wednesday episode of her "Give Them Lala" podcast following weeks of speculation that the pair had called off their engagement. "There will be a time where I feel comfortable enough to open up and share. Today's definitely not that day," the Utah native explained. "It's been a lot, I'm going through a lot and at this point in time, I just want to protect my child, [Ocean]." The Give Them Lala Beauty founder noted that she felt "strong" and "hopeful" after separating from Emmett, with whom she welcomed Ocean in March, but admitted that she doesn't know where to go from here. "I feel like it's weird because I, for the first time, have no idea what my future holds. I don't know what each day is going to look like and for a really long time, I've had a schedule where everything is planned out," Kent continued. "My future was ahead of me and I was like, 'This is the plan.' And I'm kind of just letting the universe take control of my life and place me where I need to be. I'm not questioning anything." Last month, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the Bravo personality had wiped photos of Emmett from her Instagram profile, sparking speculation that they were over. Kent further fueled the breakup rumors when she was spotted without her engagement ring in October and when she "liked" a meme alluding to the movie producer cheating on her. “Rumors are swirling that Randall might have had some extracurriculars with a couple of cocktail waitresses," the meme's caption read. A source told Us on Wednesday that the breakup was Kent's decision and the Irishman producer "did not want to split." While Emmett is "trying to win her back" for Ocean’s sake, the insider noted that the "trust is gone" between them. The reality star, for her part, is "truly focused on her daughter and her projects. She's trying to keep everything private," the source added. Kent and Emmett got engaged in September 2018 after meeting in December 2015. They kept their relationship somewhat private early one while the filmmaker was going through his divorce from Ambyr Childers, with whom he shares daughters London, 11, and Rylee, 8. The twosome went public with their romance in 2018, one year after Emmett finalized his divorce. The Vanderpump Rules star planned to marry the producer in April 2020, but they had to postpone the nuptials amid the COVID-19 crisis. |
Kris Jenner, Scott Disick Spotted Filming Hulu Show After Kravis Engagement Posted: 04 Nov 2021 11:51 AM PDT Still part of the family — and the show. Scott Disick was spotted filming the Kardashian-Jenner family's upcoming Hulu series with Kris Jenner. Us Weekly can confirm cameras were rolling when the 38-year-old Talentless designer and the 65-year-old momager stepped out for lunch at Maria's Italian Kitchen in Woodland Hills, California, on Wednesday, November 3. The sighting comes less than one month after Us reported that Kourtney Kardashian's now-fiancé, Travis Barker, will be featured on the new show as Hulu captured the October 17 proposal. "Travis spent forever getting the details right," a source told Us at the time. "Kourtney was very surprised at the timing. They both have talked about their wedding and engagement before but Kourtney was very surprised." Disick, for his part, has yet to publicly congratulate Kardashian, 42 — or comment at all on the engagement news. He previously told Andy Cohen that he gave his ex his "blessing to be happy" with Barker, 45, before taking a dig at her former flame Younes Bendjima. "I just want to kill them. … Well, the last guy," he said during the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion, which aired in June. "Let's all be honest here." Disick's disdain for Bendjima, 28, seemingly changed by August when he DMed the former boxer to shade Kardashian and Barker's PDA. "Yo is this chick ok!????? Brooo like what is this. In the middle of Italy," Disick he wrote at the time, unaware that Bendjima was going to put him on blast. Following the proposal, a source told Us that the New York native was "furious" about the mother of his three children — the former couple share Mason, 11, Penelope, 8, and Reign, 6 — officially moving on. "He knew it was possible, but is very jealous of Kourtney and Travis' relationship," the source said in October. "Scott still thinks that they could call things off before the wedding." It's possible Disick will break his silence on the proposal on the upcoming Hulu show, which Khloé Kardashian previously teased will be available to stream in early 2022. Watch Matthew McConaughey Say 'All Right, All Right, All Right' ... Lots Posted: 04 Nov 2021 11:15 AM PDT He wouldn't be Matthew McConaughey without a little "all right." The actor is proud of his catchphrase decades after he first uttered the words on the big screen. McConaughey, 51, made the phrase "all right, all right, all right" famous when he starred as David Wooderson in the 1993 film Dazed and Confused. Since then, the Oscar winner has used the fan favorite line during acceptance speeches at major awards shows and in interviews here and there. The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star explained the origin of the remark in a 2011 interview with George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight. He was not even supposed to work the night he filmed the iconic scene, but director Richard Linklater put him in at the last minute, forcing McConaughey to ad-lib. "I'm nervous. First scene ever on film," he recalled during the sit-down. "Right before we're about to shoot, I've got friends in the car. I'm going, 'All right.' I've been listening to this live Doors album, and in between two of the songs, [Jim] Morrison goes, 'All right, all right, all right, all right.'" ![]() McConaughey used the recording as motivation for his character's development. "So right before we're about to go, I'm like, 'What is Wooderson about? What's he about?' And I go, 'Man, he's about four things. He's about his car, he's about getting high, he's about rock 'n' roll and picking up chicks,'" he detailed. "I go, 'I'm in my car, I'm high as a kite, I'm listening to rock 'n' roll.' 'Action.' 'And there's the chick. All right, all right, all right.' Three out of four." The Serenity star admitted in a 2018 interview with Men's Journal that the line never gets old. "Look, 'all right, all right, all right' has become a national sort of moniker," he said at the time. "People say it all the time, and they want me to say it. I've got no trouble giving it back to them. For me, it's original and genuine because they're the first three words I ever said in a job that I got, that hell, I didn't know if it was gonna be a hobby. It could have been my only gig. It ended up being a career." Watch the video above to relive McConaughey's best deliveries of his catchphrase! |
Swoon! Everything to Know About Kristen Stewart, Dylan Meyer's Wedding Posted: 04 Nov 2021 10:44 AM PDT It's happening! Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer are getting married after two years of dating. The Twilight actress shared the news of her engagement during an interview on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show in November 2021. "We're totally gonna do it," she told the host. "I wanted to be proposed to, so I think I very distinctly carved out what I wanted, and she nailed it. We're marrying, it's happening." Several months prior, the duo sparked engagement rumors after Stewart was spotted wearing a ring on her left hand. Following her appearance on Howard Stern's radio show, the California native hinted that she and Meyer had been keeping the major relationship milestone secret for a while. "[Dylan’s dad] sent us an email congratulating us," Stewart told Today in November 2021. "I'm like, ‘You were at the engagement party months ago!'” The couple were first linked in August 2019 and made their relationship Instagram official the following October. The Panic Room star met the California-born screenwriter years before they started dating — but it wasn't until they were reintroduced at a friend's birthday party that sparks flew. "It was literally, like, the day that I met her, all bets were off," Stewart explained on The Howard Stern Show in November 2019. "I met her years ago on a movie. I hadn't seen her in, like, two years and she had just walked up to a friend's birthday party, and I was just, like, 'Where have you been and how have I not known you?'" From there, Stewart told Stern that she felt a kinship with Meyer because they were "both scumbags" who "felt like trolls as kids," and were "so similar but different" in several ways. The Spencer star went on to admit that she said she loved the Moxie cowriter after just two weeks together. "It was, like, really late and we were in some s–ty bar," she noted in November 2019. "And her friends were there or whatever, and they, like, walked out and I was just like, 'Oh man, I'm so f–king in love with you.' Done." The Happiest Season actress, who previously dated Michael Angarano, Robert Pattinson and musician St. Vincent (born Annie Clark), gushed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2021 that she "knocked it out of the park" with Meyer, saying, "I scored." Keep scrolling to learn more about Stewart and Meyer's wedding plans: ![]() Stewart and Meyer have not revealed when or where they’re getting married — and they may hold off on sharing those details. While fans are just hearing about the engagement, it is old news for the couple and their loved ones. "The funny thing is, even Dylan’s dad sent us an email congratulating us," Stewart told Today in November 2021. "He’s like, ‘Girls, I’m so happy for you.' I’m like, 'You were at the engagement party months ago!'" Brian Prahl/MEGA ![]() “We have to help each other out with stuff, too,” Stewart said during a November 2021 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “You’ve got to do the stuff I don’t want to do, man.” YouTube ![]() While on Stern’s radio show, Stewart talked about the ceremony — and the possibility of hiring Guy Fieri to lead it. “We’re either going to have no one — we’re just going to do it ourselves and just not have somebody officiate,” she told the SiriusXM host in November 2021. “Or ... we did hear that Guy Fieri from the Food Network officiates a lot of gay weddings.” She added, “The idea of that man — that sweet, sweet spikey-headed man — coming to our wedding and officiating it, it just makes me laugh so much.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock; Shutterstock ![]() Turns out, the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives host was very interested in the gig. In a video played during Stewart's November 2021 appearance on Today, Fieri let her know he “heard through the Flavortown grapevine that you are looking for a sweet spikey-haired officiant for your wedding.” He continued, “I’m all in,” which left the Chanel model in shock. When Today’s Hoda Kotb asked Stewart if she was serious about hiring the Flavortown founder for her nuptials, she said, “Absolutely! Do you know where he lives? What’s his address? Does he live in L.A.? We should talk about this." The Adventureland actress joked that that Fieri might only be kidding about taking on the job — but the Food Network star made it clear he was not. “Oh, that offer is legit!” he tweeted in November 2021 after his impromptu morning show appearance.
