NBA Rumors: Warriors Trade Is Unlikely For Ben Simmons

Posted: 05 Nov 2021 02:15 PM PDT

A few weeks since the 2021-22 NBA season officially started, Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons remains one of the centers of controversies in the league. Though the Sixers are currently making efforts to convince him to stay, it seems like the former No. 1 pick is determined to leave the City of Brotherly Love.

In the past months, Simmons has already been linked to several title contenders that need additional star power to boost their chances of winning the NBA championship title this season.

Simmons To Warriors

One of the top favorite landing spots for Simmons is the Golden State Warriors. Since the 2021 NBA offseason, rumors were circulating that the Warriors are eyeing to acquire a fourth superstar who would help Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green reclaim their throne and revive their dynasty this season.

Simmons may still have major flaws in his game but in a recent appearance on HoopsHype podcast, Anthony Slater of The Athletic revealed that there are some people inside the Warriors' organization who would be "intrigued by the idea" of bringing in the three-time All-Star to Golden State.

Why Trade Won't Happen

However, though they currently have enough assets to engage in a blockbuster deal, Slater also said that the Warriors' top officials, specifically team owner Joe Lacob, have some concerns about Simmons' fit with the team.

"Simmons could fit in the Warriors' read-and-react style, but he'd make the most sense in the Draymond role as the pick-and-roll guy with Curry," Slater said. "What matters most is that the guy up top, Joe Lacob, has literally been fined for giving his opinion about not believing in Simmons' fit with the Warriors. If you talk to him behind the scenes on or off the record, he's transparent that he's not giving up the young guys, particularly for a flawed type of star like Simmons."

Attractiveness Of Trade Assets

Even if Lacob and the Warriors' front office has a change of heart regarding Simmons' fit, it still remains a big question mark if the Sixers would be interested in what Golden State could offer for their disgruntled superstar. James Wiseman and Jonathan Kuminga may have shown huge potentials, but the Sixers don't currently need young prospects that they could develop.

Since the 2021 NBA offseason, the Sixers have been telling everyone in the league that they are seeking an All-Star caliber player in any potential deal involving Simmons.

Missed Opportunity For Simmons

Despite the major concerns regarding his fit, Simmons would definitely love the idea of being traded to the Warriors. The Warriors are currently one of the teams that are situated in California and like the Sixers, they also have a realistic chance of reaching the NBA Finals and capturing the Larry O'Brien Trophy in the 2021-22 NBA season.

Also, in Golden State, Simmons may be able to address his shooting woes by playing alongside elite three-point shooters like Curry and Thompson.

Draymond Green Reacts To Suns' Owner Robert Sarver's Alleged Racism

Posted: 05 Nov 2021 02:11 PM PDT

The Phoenix Suns' workplace culture is under heavy scrutiny.

A report by ESPN dug deep into Robert Sarver's 17-year tenure as the team owner in an attempt to shed light on multiple allegations of misogyny, racism, and personal mistreatment.

At some point, the report even cites Sarver questioning why he's not allowed to say the N-Word like Warriors star Draymond Green:

"You know, why does Draymond Green get to run up the court and say [n-word]," Sarver allegedly said, repeating the word numerous times after that. "You can't say that," (Former coach Earl Watson) replied. "Why?" asked Sarver. "Draymond Green says [n-word]."

Green, as outspoken as he is, took to Twitter to address the situation with a not-so-cryptic comment: "But I was fined?? Lol smh," he wrote.

Suns Owner Under Heavy Fire

The controversial mogul didn't waste time denying those rumors through a statement.

"I've never called anyone or any group of people the n-word," he said, as quoted by Complex](https://www.complex.com/sports/phoenix-suns-robert-sarver-draymond-green-racism). "I don't use that word. It is abhorrent and ugly and denigrating and against everything I believe in."

He later admitted to using the word but in a whole different context:

"On one occasion a player used the n-word to describe the importance of having each others' back. I responded by saying, I wouldn't say n***a, I would say that we're in the foxhole together. I immediately apologized and haven't said it ever again," he claimed.

Toxic Workplace Culture

This isn't the first time that Sarver has been accused of building a toxic workplace culture.

ESPN's report talks about multiple times when Sarver openly talked about him or his players' sex life during staff meetings.

Others claimed that women "have very little value" within the organization.

Also, Sarver allegedly suggested that the team should have local strippers impregnated by NBA players so they would feel pressure to sign with the team and be close to their children:

"Sarver remarked to two basketball operations staffers that the Suns needed to have local strippers impregnated by NBA players so those players would have children in the Phoenix area and feel obliged to be closer to them, giving the Suns a potential edge in free agency, the now-former staffers said," continued the report.

Will Sarver Be Forced To Sell The Suns?

The NBA is most definitely going to investigate this matter and all the allegations against Sarver.

That means that they could force him to sell the team the same way it happened to former Clippers owner Donald Sterling back in 2014.

Sterling used racial slurs towards Magic Johnson in some leaked conversations with his couple, while other former staffers and players also accused him of being a racist during his time on the team.

Eventually, tech mogul Steve Ballmer bought the franchise for $2 billion.

Struggling On The Court Also

These kinds of distractions are the last thing the Suns need right now as they look to prove that last year's success wasn't just a fluke.

Following one of the best seasons in franchise history and a failed trip to the NBA Finals, Monty Williams' team has failed to find that same form during the early season.

Thus far, the Suns are just 4-3 to start the season and look far from the dominant defensive unit they were last year with Chris Paul at the helm.

Trae Young Reveals Why Hawks Are Struggling Earlier In 2021-22 NBA Season

Posted: 05 Nov 2021 02:08 PM PDT

There were high expectations for All-Star point guard Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks before the start of the 2021-22 NBA season. After a recent trip to the Eastern Conference Finals, most people believed that the Hawks would immediately make their presence felt this season. Unfortunately, the Hawks are off to a slow start and currently not playing like a legitimate title contender in the Eastern Conference.

As of now, they are sitting in the No. 12 spot in the Eastern Conference with a 4-5 record.

Hawks' Early Struggle

Following their 116-98 loss to the Utah Jazz on Thursday night, Young talked about the Hawks' struggle earlier in the 2021-22 NBA season. In a post-game interview, the former No. 5 overall pick cited the lack of motivation as one of the main reasons behind their poor performance.

"I think guys are learning that," Young said, as quoted by The Athletic's Chris Kirschner on Twitter. "We're no longer the hunters. It's regular season. I'm not going to lie, it's a lot more boring than the playoffs. You got to find that motivation to play like the playoffs."

Young Got Roasted

Young earned plenty of criticisms for his recent comment about the Hawks' struggle earlier in the 2021-22 NBA season. Ending their playoff drought and reaching the Eastern Conference Finals is indeed a huge accomplishment for a young team like the Hawks, but Young's statement sounded like they achieved an even bigger goal.

With the way he speaks, Jason Jones of The Athletic said on Twitter that Young and the Hawks are acting like a team going for a "three-peat." Some NBA fans shared the same sentiment as Jones, with one saying that the Hawks are playing with a "championship hangover without the championship."

Hawks' Defense A Big Problem

Young is still dropping impressive numbers in the 2021-22 NBA season. In nine games he played, he's averaging 22.4 points and 9.2 assists while shooting 40.7 percent from the field, per ESPN. As a team, the Hawks are also doing well on the offensive end of the floor.

However, their defense proved to be a major concern earlier this season. As of now, the Hawks are No. 23 in the league in defensive efficiency, allowing 106.9 points per 100 possessions, per ESPN.

Lineup Changes Possible

In their first nine games in the 2021-22 NBA season, Hawks head coach Nate McMillan used a starting lineup featuring Young, Bogdan Bogdanovic, DeAndre Hunter, John Collins, and Clint Capela. However, with their recent struggle, McMillan said that it's a possibility for them to make lineup changes in the upcoming games.

"We need a spark," McMillan said, as quoted by Sarah K. Spencer of Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Twitter. "We need some energy to lift us, and we need some guys that'll go out there and defend... We need two-way players, and not all of your energy focused on one end of the floor."

Inside Ariana Grande 'Extravagant' $14 Million Los Angeles Mansion

Posted: 05 Nov 2021 01:53 PM PDT

Nearly a year and a half after purchasing her Los Angeles mansion, Ariana Grande has bid adieu to her luxurious Hollywood Hills home. After forking $13.7 million for the 10,094 square-foot property in June 2020, the pop star has sold it for $14 million earlier this week, multiple news outlets are reporting.

However, this doesn't mean the 28-year-old is planning to leave Montecito any time soon. The singer, who reportedly owns two other properties in the celebrity-studded enclave, will be relocating to a smaller house next door. Here's what she's saying goodbye to.

Penthouse Bedroom & Double Fireplace

Located in the exclusive Bird Streets neighborhood high above L.A.'s iconic Sunset Strip, Grande's former residence is a four-bedroom, seven-bathroom manse boasting floor-to-ceiling windows that offer a panoramic view of the scenic hillside.

All glass and black metal, the "exceedingly contemporary exterior" is balanced out by the "warm" interiors, with photos published on Tuesday by Vogue Australia giving an intimate glimpse at the refined decor.

The lower level harbors a sprawling open-plan living room, separated from an elegant formal dining room by a double-sided fireplace. Meanwhile, the penthouse level is entirely reserved for a master bedroom complete with a boutique-sized walk-in closet. What a dream!

Infinity Pool

Grande's "extravagant" Hollywood Hills mansion comes with state-of-the-art amenities worthy of a pop princess. The first floor seems specially designed for R&R, as it's equipped with a massage and sauna, an at-home theatre, and a bespoke wine cellar that can hold up to 300 bottles of wine.

There's also a wet bar and a chef's kitchen complete with Miele appliances and a black granite island.

As for the top floor, the future owners are in for a treat: an L-shaped infinity pool and adjacent spacious patio more than make up for the lack of garden space. Click here for more snaps of the incredible home!

'Dark' History

Grande's Bird Streets abode is a house with a reputation. Built just three years ago, the modern edifice is connected to the name of fraudster and convicted criminal Robert Shapiro, having been constructed by his company, Woodbridge Group.

The Grammy-Award winner was reportedly the first owner of the home, which has been on and off the market, with a substantial decrease in price. Originally listed for $25.5 million, the asking price has dropped to $23 million, then to $19.5 million in 2019, and $17.5 million in 2020, until Grande splashed $13.7 million for it last summer.

Moving Next Door

Now that she's unloaded the lavish Hillside mansion, the pop chanteuse and her real estate agent husband Dalton Gomez, 27, will be taking up residence in the star's Bird Streets cottage next door, which she acquired in March just after meeting her future hubby.

While their new love nest only offers 1,590 square feet of living space, it's situated on an impressive 0.74-acre hillside plot, with plenty of tall hedges and trees offering privacy to the young couple. According to Architectural Digest, Grande spent $8.9 million for the 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom house.

The singer also owns a third Montecito property, namely the 5,500-square-foot Tudor-style manor she bought off of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi for $6.75 million.

Known as Porter house, the building has a "fantastically interesting backstory,", having been built in England in the 1700s as two separate barns, and later dismantled and reconstructed in California as a single edifice with two wings linked by an orangery. This is where Grande's nuptials famously took place in May.

'Squid Game' Season 2 Release Date, Cast, and Plot - Everything We Know

Posted: 05 Nov 2021 01:06 PM PDT

Netflix's Squid Game was a huge hit and quickly became the platform's most watched TV series in history.

The series first premiered on September 17, 2021 and was created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, who also directed all the episodes.

It stars Jung-jae Lee, who plays the lead character Seong Gi-hun and supporting actors Hae-soo Park, Ha-joon Wi and breakout star HoYeon Jung.

Aside from gaining popularity among viewers, the show was also well-received by critics, earning a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Here's everything we know about Squid Game season 2.

When is the Release Date of 'Squid Game' Season 2?

While Netflix hasn't officially renewed the series for season 2 yet, it is highly unlikely that it will be canceled, given its huge success.

The series was first announced back in 2019 and it took about two years before it aired. With that timeline, we are expecting the second season to be ready by early 2023.

Creator Hwang told Variety that he has no solid plans for the second season yet:

"I don't have well developed plans for Squid Game 2. It is quite tiring just thinking about it. But if I were to do it, I would certainly not do it alone. I'd consider using a writers' room and would want multiple experienced directors."

If you haven't seen the series, watch the trailer of Squid Game on YouTube.

Who is in the cast of 'Squid Game' Season 2?

Jung-jae Lee will most likely be back to reprise his role as Seong Gi-hun.

Since a lot of the past characters have already been killed in the first season, it is unsure whether they will still be making an appearance in the upcoming season.

Fan favorite HoYeon Jung was asked in an interview wether she will be part of the next season and here's what she had to say:

"To be honest, I have never thought about [participating in] the next season, because I am dead," she joked to The Korea Herald. "We should all wait for brilliant imagination and ideas from the director and Netflix.

"Let's wait together."

What is 'Squid Game' Season 2 About?

The plot of the second season will likely revolve around Gi-hun's story, who was seen plotting revenge in the final episode of the first season.

A new set of players will probably be collected to participate in another round of games. There is a possibility that the police will be involved or there may be an active investigation because of what happened to Hwang Jun-ho, the police officer who was looking for his brother.

Actor Jung-jae Lee told the New York Times what he thinks would happen next:

"That's a very difficult question because the story could go in any direction, and some of Gi-hun's emotions are very complicated. He's a very intriguing character. I guess he could go and try and punish the creators of the game. Or he could try to stop new contestants from playing it. Or he could try to join the game again. I have no idea at this point."

Which Two Marvel Characters Has 'Eternals' Star Gemma Chan Played?

Posted: 05 Nov 2021 11:16 AM PDT

Gemma Chan is one of the few actors who had the honor of playing not just one but two Marvel characters.

The 38-year-old actress is gracing the big screen once again as a Marvel superhero - a title that not many actors get to experience.

In a recent interview, Chan spoke out about how she really feels being cast twice in a Marvel movie.

Scroll down to see what she had to say.

Marvel Debut

Gemma made her Marvel debut in Captain Marvel in 2019. She played Minn-Erva, a blue-skinned Kree who was a secondary antagonist in the film.

Because she has already played a Marvel character, many were surprised to see Chan cast in another Marvel role, as this rarely happens in the MCU. Even Chan herself was pretty surprised that she was hired again.

According to Gemma, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige approached her months after Captain Marvel and insisted that she come back for another future role.

"We'd love to make better use of you. We'd just love for you to come back. We want you to do something else so let's find that project." Feige said.

One Of The Last Ones Casted

In a recent interview, Chan shared that she felt incredibly lucky to be part of the cast of Eternals. In the movie, she plays Sersi - a humankind-loving immortal who has the power to manipulate matter and shape them into whatever she pleases.

"I wasn't expecting to be called in. I did a screen test for Sersi quite late in the game," Chan said.

"I am very lucky in that this is my second time; I feel very fortunate. It was as much of a surprise to me, as to probably everyone else, but I feel very, very lucky to be part of this film, and amongst this incredible, talented cast."

Is Gemma Dating Richard Madden?

Many fans were delighted to see Chan come back for another role. She is perfect for the role of Sersi and her chemistry with Richard Madden, who plays Ikaris, is also palpable, leading viewers to wonder if there is a romantic relationship budding off-screen.

The two are not dating but they are actually great friends and have known each other for ten years.

When Madden was asked how it was to work with Chan, he said that he was over the moon.

"Because we've known each other so long, we already have this trust and rapport. We know how to push each other's buttons. We know how to make each other laugh."

NFL Rumors: 3 Teams That Should Sign Odell Beckham Jr.

Posted: 05 Nov 2021 11:10 AM PDT

Even though it just happened today, Odell Beckham Jr.'s departure from the Cleveland Browns was years in the making.

The talented wideout never got on the same page with Baker Mayfield and was rarely involved in Kevin Stefanski's offense.

Things further escalated when OBJ's father posted an 11-minute clip of Mayfield either ignoring or overthrowing a wide-open Beckham Jr, with plenty of people criticizing the Browns' quarterback.

Beckham Jr. was later "excused" from team practice as they reached a financial settlement to finally cut him loose.

Who Should Sign Odell Beckham Jr.?

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk reported that OBJ asked to be traded multiple times in the season.

Nonetheless, Beckham's recent story with injuries, his obvious desire to leave, and his big contract were issues no team wanted to deal with.

Then again, no one can argue that OBJ is a game-changing wideout when healthy. He's strong, athletic, and can outduel nearly every big-time defender in the league.

So, now that he's set to become a free agent, who should try and make a run at him? Let's take a look.

Patriots Get A Big-Play Threat

Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels have taken a conservative approach with Mac Jones leading the offense.

But the Alabama product has looked more comfortable as the weeks go by and has been efficient in the few occasions he's dared to throw downfield.

The Patriots lack a true big-play threat in their offense and they've been known for pursuing former stars looking to get back at their doubters.

They're 4-4 for the season and, even though their defense deserves most of the credit, it wouldn't hurt them to get a new pair of hands of their offense.

Saints Homecoming Makes Sense

Even though he's said his family roots for the Dallas Cowboys, Odell Beckham Jr. has big ties to the city of New Orleans from his days at LSU.

The Saints have big needs in their receivers corps, especially with Michael Thomas set to miss the whole season with a foot injury.

Beckham Jr. may not want anything to do with a team that has Trevor Siemian at QB, though, as poor quarterback play was the reason why he wanted to leave the Browns in the first place.

Aaron Rodgers New Weapon?

The Green Bay Packers have been one of the best teams in the NFL this season but their offense still has room for improvement. Thus far, they've only averaged 24 points per game, as per Team Rankings.

Aaron Rodgers has picked apart opposing defenses even without Devante Adams, so imagine what he could do if they give him another top-tier weapon?

Rodgers could force his way out of Green Bay at the end of the season, so they might as well make the most of his talents while they still can.

Miley Cyrus Honors Dolly Parton With '80s-Inspired Gucci Look

Posted: 05 Nov 2021 10:48 AM PDT

They share a special bond that has lasted all of her life, so it's no wonder that Miley Cyrus chose to honor godmother Dolly Parton at the star-studded Gucci Love Parade on November 3.

Hitting up the Hollywood Boulevard runway show in a glimmering blue fringe maxi dress with lavish feather details, Cyrus, who's also the face of Gucci's Flora Gorgeous Gardenia Eau Perfume, channeled the 75-year-old country icon's legendary look with an '80s-inspired hairstyle. The 28-year-old pop star later shared pics from the event on Instagram, snagging 1.5 million likes from her legion of followers.

Aside from being a beloved family member, Parton has served as a source of inspiration for the "Wrecking Ball" singer on numerous occasions. Read about their close relationship below.

Keeping In Touch The Old-Fashioned Way

Cyrus -- whose Gucci look celebrated Parton with a voluminous wavy hairstyle described by Vogue as "glam on top, party on the bottom," has collaborated professionally with her famous godmother a number of times.

Aside from fittingly playing her godmother on Hannah Montana, the country music legend teamed up with the former Disney Channel star for a couple of music projects. One of their notable onstage appearances together was at the 2019 Grammy Awards, where they delivered a stunning rendition of "Jolene." A year later, they were collaborating on Parton's holiday album, A Holly Dolly Christmas.

Although their relationship is certainly hip, the duo made headlines last December for using an outdated communication method to keep in touch. During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Cyrus revealed Parton reached out the old-fashioned way while working on the album.

"She faxed me," said the "Prisoner" singer, who told Norton she didn't own a fax machine at the time. "She gets upset when you don't respond. And it's like, I'm sorry, I don't even know. Half the people watching your show might not even know what a fax machine is."

Why Dolly Won't Give Miley Advice

Parton, who says she's Cyrus' "honorary godmother," has been there for the young musician every step of the way. However, despite serving as a mentor for many years, the 11-time Grammy Award winner made it clear that she prefers to be a guiding influence rather than give her goddaughter advice.

"I've told her some things that I think are valuable and that she uses, but I'd rather live an example," Parton told People in 2019. "[I'd rather] be an example rather than just try to tell somebody to do this, do that because I don't think that's right."

According to the country superstar, Cyrus doesn't need any words of wisdom from anyone.

"Who am I to tell Miley what to do? Lord, I've done everything, and what I ain't done, I intend to. She's going to do that, too," Parton pointed out. "But Miley's smart; Miley knows what she's doing. I know we think she doesn't, and she might not every minute, but I still know that she's got good stuff in her."

The "9 to 5" singer further explained why she refuses to give advice to the 28-year-old: "Everybody's different. You've got your own journey. And some people are going to help you along the way and they can kick a few rocks out of the road for you, but you got to walk it."

Who Has The Higher Net Worth?

While it's clear that Cyrus followed in her godmother's footsteps -- both she and Parton are acclaimed singers, songwriters, actors, authors, and philanthropists -- the two multi-talented ladies have done things a bit differently throughout their respective careers.

After her big break in Disney's Hannah Montana, Cyrus kicked off her music career in 2007, releasing several successful solo albums, including Bangerz(2013), Younger Now (2017), and Plastic Hearts (2020). She was a coach on NBC's The Voice, she's been in Netflix's Black Mirror, and has launched a non-profit organization called the Happy Hippie Foundation.

All her hard work has definitely paid off, with Cyrus creating an estimated net worth of $160 million for herself.

Meanwhile, Parton has been in the music industry for over 50 years, releasing 41 top-10 country albums and 25 number one singles. The country legend has sold more than 100 million albums as a solo artist. She even has her own theme park called Dollywood, which has about 3 million guests each year.

As of 2021, the "Jolene" singer boasts an estimated net worth of $650 million.

Mutual Adoration

Parton may be Cyrus' "unofficial" godmother but the love she harbors for her runs deep and true.

"I've known her since she was a baby," the country star opened up about their close bond back in 2009. "Her father's a friend of mine, and when she was born, he said, 'You just have to be her godmother,' and I said, 'I accept.' We never did do a big ceremony, but I'm so proud of her, love her and she's just like one of my own."

Over the years, Parton has always shown her support for her honorary goddaughter, singing her praises in interviews.

"The kids love her because she's Hannah Montana, but what people don't realize about her is she is such a fantastic singer and songwriter," Parton gushed about Cyrus to AOL Music back in 2008. "She writes songs like she's 40 years old! She's really deep."

Meanwhile, Cyrus paid a heartwarming tribute to Parton when she was named one of TIME magazine's most influential people of the year in September.

"There's a theory that you shouldn't meet your heroes, but I wish everyone had the chance to meet Dolly Parton, because she's even better than your sparkliest dreams," the "Malibu" singer said of her "idol" and "role model." "She may be my fairy godmother, but I think she's that to everyone else too. I am happy to share her with the world."

Deshaun Watson Suffers Another Legal Setback

Posted: 05 Nov 2021 09:53 AM PDT

A lot of people expected Deshaun Watson to be all over the news throughout the first half of the NFL season.

Nonetheless, no one expected it to be for being involved in over 20 accusations of sexual misconduct.

Watson had let the Houston Texans know about his desire to be traded. His frustration with the team grew rapidly but the franchise was still reluctant to move him, which is why most analysts expected a long stand-off that could go all the way to the trade deadline.

Dolphins Trade Fell Apart

The Miami Dolphins were reportedly trying to reach a deal to acquire his services.

They were the only team that Watson had openly agreed to waive his no-trade clause for, but the Texans eventually backpedaled.

"We never got to a point where anything was going to be realistic in terms of happening," Dolphins GM Chris Grier told ESPN. "It was still us just doing our due diligence, just talking through things. We never got to a point where anything was that close to happening."

Legal Situation Taking Longer To Resolve

The Texans reportedly drove Watson's price up as they came under the impression that a settlement with the 22 women who accused him was imminent.

And, even though he wasn't likely to play a single snap this season, they could still have a full year to try and convince him to reconsider his stance and stay put with the team.

However, a report by ESPN states that Watson and his accusers are far from reaching any sort of agreement at this point.

Settlements Broke Down Over NDAs

According to attorney Tony Buzbee, the Watson camp's push for NDAs caused the 22 women suing him to back out of the settlement:

"The attorney representing 22 women suing Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson says settlement talks between the two sides broke down before the NFL's trade deadline because of language Watson's legal team insisted they include in nondisclosure agreements," read the report.

Buzbee modified the language of the proposed agreements but even after that, some of the women allegedly claimed that they'd never sign them.

What's Next For Watson?

If the women continue to pursue legal action, the earliest the cases could go to trial is in early May, with May 2, 2022, as the most likely date.

The Texans won't be able to trade Watson until the end of the season but with all those questions about him, teams could be wary of pursuing him once again.

Also, he's still expected to be disciplined by the NFL once the cases settle or the jury makes a decision, so chances are that we won't see him play until 2023 at the earliest.

Should The New York Jets Be Concerned About Zach Wilson?

Posted: 05 Nov 2021 09:24 AM PDT

It's been a while since the New York Jets were actually competitive. But for the first time in years, they've actually been kind of fun to watch.

Don't get me wrong, by no means Robert Saleh's team is a good one, nor they will be in the foreseeable future.

But now, it seems like they could play spoilers and ruin your favorite team's plans with their grittiness and newly-found offensive spark.

Notably, that has come without quarterback Zach Wilson on the gridiron.

The Jets Backups Have Been Impressive

First, it was Mike White who came out of nowhere and completely lit up the Cincinnati Bengals for 405 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. More importantly, he led the Jets to their second win of the season.

White later threw for 91 yards and 1 touchdown before exiting Thursday's night game against the Colts with a forearm injury.

Then, Josh Johnson took over and completed 27 passes for 317 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception in just three quarters of action.

Wilson Has Struggled Mightly

Zach Wilson's backups have now combined for 817 yards and 8 total touchdowns in two games, while Wilson has thrown for 1,168 yards with 4 touchdowns and 9 interceptions through 6 career starts, per Football Reference.

Obviously, it's still too early to give up on the 2nd-overall pick of the Draft, especially after what he showed during his days at BYU.

But the contrasts in the offense with and without him have to be an eyebrow-raising concern for the fans and the organization going forward.

Wilson Could Miss More Time

On top of that, Wilson could be in for a long spell on the sidelines.

The initial report on his knee injury stated that he could miss two to four weeks but knee conditions are often tricky and teams don't want to rush their franchise players back into action.

That means that we'll get to see the backups competing for a starting job for at least an extra couple of weeks, and that could only make people doubt Wilson's role with the team even further.

The Jets Need To Focus On The Draft

Truth be told, the Jets should just give up on this season. It's nice to see them compete and all but they have no business winning games at this point.

They're not likely to win many more games until the end of the season, so why rush Wilson back into action?

Even if you want to develop him if they really believe he makes them more competitive, then they should shut him down for the year.

Ironically, that would only leave the door wide open for one of his backups to take over for good.
