NBA Rumors: Cam Reddish Could Be A Frontrunner To Win Most Improved Player & Sixth Man Of The Year

Posted: 06 Nov 2021 04:06 PM PDT

Since being selected as the No. 10 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, former Duke small forward Cam Reddish has already gone through plenty of ups and downs in the league. In his first two years with the Atlanta Hawks, Reddish has failed to live up to expectations from a lottery pick and spent the past two seasons dealing with multiple injuries.

After struggling in his first two years in the NBA, Reddish's future with the Hawks became uncertain. In the 2021-22 NBA season, the young wingman found himself being demoted to the Hawks' bench.

Cam Reddish Having A Great Start

However, though his first two seasons in the league didn't go as planned, Reddish didn't give up on his dream to become a legitimate superstar in the NBA. Instead of being distracted by his critics, he continues to work harder and focus on improving his performance on both ends of the floor. So far, the Hawks are seeing the result of Reddish's efforts.

Despite coming off the bench, Reddish is currently off to a great start in the 2021-22 NBA season, averaging 13.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.4 steals while shooting 41.8 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from beyond the arc, per ESPN.

Cam Reddish Could Win Two Major Awards After 2021-22 NBA Season

In a recent article, Matthew Hallett of Fansided's Soaring Down South talked about Reddish and his impressive start in his third year in the NBA. Reddish and the Hawks may have only played nine games but if he could become consistent and provide the same intensity until the end of the 2021-22 NBA season, Hallett is confident that the young small forward would be a frontrunner to win two major awards - Most Improved Player of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year awards.

Is Cam Reddish A Strong MIP Candidate?

Reddish indeed has a strong chance of winning the Most Improved Player of the Year award. After dealing with health issues in the past two seasons, he's currently starting to play like a real lottery pick.

"Reddish has started this season by being incredibly aggressive on offense," Hallett wrote. "He is starting to make the right decisions between passing and shooting, and is usually the first man into the game. His defense is also a crucial part of the Hawks second unit."

Cam Reddish Becoming More Comfortable In Second Unit

With the impact that he's providing for the Hawks despite coming off the bench, it won't be a surprise if Reddish would also be mentioned in the conversation for the Sixth Man of the Year award. Being demoted to the bench by Coach Nate McMillan turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Reddish as it helps him become a more reliable contributor for the Hawks.

"While nine games are a very small sample size, Reddish is showing that he likes the style of play that the Hawks are playing under McMillan," Hallett wrote.

Three Potential Trade Targets For Warriors Before 2022 NBA Trade Deadline

Posted: 06 Nov 2021 04:03 PM PDT

Since the 2021 NBA offseason, rumors are circulating that the Golden State Warriors are actively searching for their fourth superstar on the trade market. They may currently have the trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, but some people believe that they still need additional star power on their roster to have a realistic chance of fully dominating the Western Conference and winning the NBA championship title this season.

With the current assets they have, the Warriors are in a strong position to engage in a blockbuster deal before the 2022 NBA trade deadline.

Pascal Siakam Boosts Warriors' Wing

In a recent article, Kenneth Teape of NBA Analysis Network created a list of early-season trade targets for the Warriors. These include Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors are yet to listen to offers for Siakam but since the departure of Kyle Lowry in the 2021 NBA free agency, there's a growing belief around the league that Toronto would move their veterans and undergo a full-scale rebuild.

Bringing Siakam to Golden State would allow the Warriors to fill the hole left by Kevin Durant in the wing, giving them an All-Star who has championship experience.

Ben Simmons Finally Goes To A California Team

Aside from Siakam, Teape also mentioned Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons as a potential trade target for the Warriors before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. Unlike Siakam, Simmons is currently available on the trade market. The former No. 1 pick may have major flaws in his game, but he's a three-time All-Star.

His potential arrival in Golden State would boost the Warriors' performance on both ends of the floor and lessen the loads on Stephen Curry's shoulders in terms of ball-handling and playmaking.

Karl-Anthony Towns Upgrades Warriors' Starting Center Spot

Another player who could be on the Warriors' radar before the 2022 NBA trade deadline is All-Star center Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves. After liking a controversial "#FreeKat" tweet, some people around the league believe that it would only be a matter of time before Towns demands a trade from the Timberwolves.

Towns would be an incredible target for the Warriors. He would be a massive upgrade over James Wiseman at the starting center position, giving them a very reliable scoring option under the basket, a monster rebounder, a quality rim protector, and a decent floor-spacer. This season, he's averaging 23.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.6 steals while shooting 51.2 percent from the field and 49.0 percent from beyond the arc, per ESPN.

Potential Trade Package To Acquire Karl-Anthony Towns

Of all the three players mentioned, Towns would undeniably be the best trade target for the Warriors before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. However, he would also be the most expensive one. To acquire him from the Timberwolves, the Warriors would likely be needing to pay the king's ransom.

According to Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report, the Warriors could engage in a three-team trade with the Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder to land Towns. In the proposed trade scenario, the Warriors would get Towns and a 2025 second-round pick, the Timberwolves would receive James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Luguentz Dort, and a 2026 first-round pick, and the Thunder would obtain Andrew Wiggins, and two 2022 first-round picks.

Gemma Chan Thinks Working With 'Eternals' Director Chloe Zhao Is "Dangerous"

Posted: 06 Nov 2021 03:58 PM PDT

Gemma Chan recently spoke out about what it's like to work with director Chloe Zhao in the new Marvels film Eternals.

The 38-year-old actress stars as the immortal being Sersi, who is one of the stewards of the planet Earth, along with other Eternal beings.

In one interview, Gemma Chan and co-star Richard Madden, who plays Ikaris in the film, shared how they feel about working with the legendary Zhao, who is known for being a perfectionist.

Scroll down to find out what they had to say.

This Is Gemma Chan's Second Marvel Role

This is Chan's second time to be cast in a Marvel film. Her MCU debut was in Captain Marvel, where she played a Kree soldier.

When asked how she feels about being a second-time Marvel character, Gemma revealed that she wasn't actually expecting to come back.

"I am very lucky in that this is my second time; I feel very fortunate. It was as much of a surprise to me, as to probably everyone else, but I feel very, very lucky to be part of this film, and amongst this incredible, talented cast."

Why It Feels "Dangerous" To Work With Zhao

While doing promo for their new film, Gemma Chan and co-star Richard Madden shared how much they respect Oscar-winning director Zhao.

In an interview, the stars discussed how Zhao's insistence on filming in natural light led to time crunches.

"It affects things in terms of timing. You end up with a very limited window in order to get the shot that the director wants." Madden said. "So it's always quite exciting when you're shooting like that. It's dangerous and exciting."

A Worthy Challenge

Gemma agreed with Madden's statement and added that it was a worthy challenge.

"It's a challenge, as Richard said. You do have a small window where the light is perfect and it's weather-dependent as well," Chan said.

"We were soaked and dusty, and it's hard to replicate that when you're in a studio environment. There's just something about being in the elements."

Zhao Kept An Eye On Harry Styles

Zhao's traditionalist execution in filming is not the only risk she took on. She also made an unexpected decision, like casting Harry Styles as Eros (a.k.a Thanos' brother) in the film.

According to Chloe, she has kept an eye on singer Harry Styles since Dunkirk.

"I kept tabs on Harry Styles since he appeared in Dunkirk 'cause whoever Nolan casts I always keep an eye open and I immediately thought, 'This person makes me think of Eros as a character.' He comes to life when I met him. It was very much a package."

Directors Olivia Wilde & Chloe Zhao Impressed By Harry Styles' Acting

Posted: 06 Nov 2021 03:55 PM PDT

Harry Styles made a successful crossover from singing in a boy band to acting in films, a feat that very few pop stars have crossed off their list.

When news broke out that Styles will be trying his hand in acting, there were a lot who had doubts in his acting skills.

The pop star, however, seemed to have proven that he has so much more to offer than good looks. He has been cast in major films and has impressed directors and critics.

Scroll down to see why they are impressed by Styles' acting.

Harry Styles' Acting Debut

While Styles' music career started in 2010, he didn't do acting until 2017. His feature-film debut was in Christopher Nolan's World War II epic Dunkirk, where he played fiery soldier Alex.

His role was small but significant and he delivered a great performance, despite being a newbie in the film industry.

Movie critics agreed that the former One Direction frontman was a revelation in his role. "For the One Direction fans wondering, Harry Styles is also solid, seamlessly blending into the ensemble," one critic said.

Landing A Role In Marvel's 'Eternals'

Thanks to his impressive acting in Dunkirk, Styles earned the respect of the movie industry. One of the big names Harry impressed is Eternals director Chloe Zhao, who admitted she has been keeping an eye on Styles since his acting debut.

"I kept tabs on Harry since Dunkirk, I thought he was very interesting," Zhao said in an interview.

Zhao also revealed that she cast Harry as Eros because he is so much like the character.

"After meeting him I realized he is that character — the same way I cast the rest of my cast. There's so much of Eros in him."

Working With Girlfriend Olivia Wilde

Another director who was amazed by Styles is his girlfriend Olivia Wilde.

Wilde is working with Styles in the thriller movie Don't Worry Darling. Harry stars opposite Florence Pugh and will be playing the mysterious husband Jack who may be hiding disturbing secrets.

The film will be released in theaters in 2022. See the teaser trailer on YouTube.

Appreciation Post For Harry

In an Instagram post, Wilde showed appreciation for her man for being comfortable in a supporting role and letting a woman lead hold the spotlight.

"Little known fact: most male actors don't want to play supporting roles in female-led films. The industry has raised them to believe it lessens their power," Olivia started and proceeded to say that Styles took on the role with no problem at all.

"He jumped on board with humility and grace, and blew us away every day with his talent, warmth, and ability to drive backwards."

Predicting The Next 4 WWE Superstars That Will Leave The Company

Posted: 06 Nov 2021 01:27 PM PDT

After the past two years and massive cuts in both the office and wrestlers, the WWE seems to be trying to cut as much money off the books as possible. Fans are completely confused by some of these releases and are starting to wonder what is going on in the mind of Vince McMahon and Nick Khan. There have been several rumors of a potential sale to Disney or NBC Universal. For a company that continues to gain record profits, it seems like they no longer care about the product, simply the bottom line.

Kevin (Steen) Owens

The former NXT, Tag Team, Universal, and United States champion is likely on his way out when his WWE contract expires, whenever that may be. There have already been several hints dropped from both Owens himself and several All Elite Wrestling superstars. Most notably his former Pro Wrestling Guerrilla "Mount Rushmore" stablemates, the Young Bucks and Adam Cole. A talent of Steen's level would surely elevate anyone he works with no matter the company. This next entry on the list is also closely related to Kevin Owens, as they could continue their "fight forever" in AEW or elsewhere on the independent scenes across the country.

Sami Zayn (El Generico)

As previously mentioned, Kevin Steen's real-life best friend may also be on his way out of the company, however, this one is more fan speculation than anything. He made his name in Ring Of Honor as the masked sensation El Generico. But the now Sami Zayn has also seen some success under the WWE umbrella as well. Unfortunately though it never quite seemed like he was destined for the main event on the main roster as he has never progressed past the mid-card. If used properly Zayn could have been one of WWE's next superstars, but that was sadly not the case and it will likely lead to his exit from the global promotion.

Charlotte Flair

The daughter of the legendary Ric Flair has been one of the most successful superstars in World Wrestling Entertainment. Having already racked up double-digit championship wins in such a short time in the company already. However, things have started to go sour as of late and it started with her fiance Andrade's exit from the company. With her father also being let go in a recent round of cuts it seems even more and more likely that she will exit the company. This would be one of the biggest blows to WWE's reign of terror over the professional wrestling industry.

Kyle O Riley

He was rumored to be the next face of NXT after his feud with Adam Cole, that is until the company debuted the new 2.0 style. Feeling left out in the cold could certainly be enough motivation for "KOR" to pack his bags and leave for greener pastures. With 2 of the 4 members of the former Undisputed Era already in AEW, a reunion could be very likely soon as he could reignite his feud with Cole or join forces with Bobby Fish again and become a dominant tag team. Or even reform the Undisputed Era to feud with the Elite.

NBA Rumors: Suns Could Acquire Ben Simmons For Package Centered On Chris Paul

Posted: 06 Nov 2021 01:17 PM PDT

Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons is expected to be one of the hottest commodities on the trade market before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. Despite strong efforts from the Sixers to convince him to stay, Simmons seems determined to leave the City of Brotherly Love.

Though he has already joined the Sixers' in their previous practices, the former No. 1 pick is yet to play a single game in the 2021-22 NBA season. With his continuous absence, the Sixers recently decided to resume fining him for every game he misses.

Ben Simmons To Phoenix Suns

In a recent article, Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report created a list of NBA teams that need to trade for Simmons the most before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. These include last year's NBA Finalists, the Phoenix Suns. The Suns may currently have Chris Paul as their starting point guard but if they want to take a "light-years approach" in extending their run, Hughes believes that they should strongly consider swapping CP3 for Simmons.

Simmons may still have plenty of flaws in his game, but he perfectly fits the timeline of the Suns' core of Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges, and DeAndre Ayton.

Ben Simmons Boosts Suns' Struggling Defense

Simmons would be an interesting addition to the Suns. Despite his shooting woes, he remains a solid two-way contributor in the league. He would give the Suns a reliable scorer, a great rebounder, playmaker, and lockdown defender. Last season, he averaged 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 1.6 steals while shooting 55.7 percent from the field, per ESPN.

The successful acquisition of Simmons before the 2022 NBA trade deadline is expected to improve the Suns' mediocre defense that currently ranks No. 15 in the league, allowing 104.6 points per 100 possessions, per ESPN.

Sixers Get An 'All-Star' For Ben Simmons

Meanwhile, though he's already on the downside of his career, Hughes thinks that Paul still satisfies the Sixers' "transformative or bust" asking price for Simmons. Paul would give the Sixers a veteran All-Star with more than a decade of playoff experience.

CP3 would immediately fill the hole that Simmons would be leaving at the Sixers' backcourt. Aside from being a prolific scorer and an incredible playmaker, Paul is also an elite three-point shooter, making him a great fit with the face of the Sixers' franchise, Joel Embiid.

Will The Suns Make The Trade?

As of now, there's no indication that the Suns are planning to trade Paul for Simmons before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. As Hughes, noted, the Suns are only expected to consider such trade if they aren't confident that they have what it takes to fully dominate the Western Conference and capture the Larry O'Brien Trophy this season.

Compared to last season, their quest for the NBA championship title has become more difficult, especially with the emergence of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors on the West Coast. Instead of keeping an aging star, the Suns could replace him with a young franchise cornerstone who could be part of their long-term plans.

NBA Rumors: Karl-Anthony Towns Breaks Silence On Liking Controversial '#FreeKAT' Tweet

Posted: 06 Nov 2021 08:24 AM PDT

Despite numerous calls for him to demand a trade, All-Star center Karl-Anthony Towns hasn't given a strong indication that he would be leaving the Minnesota Timberwolves soon. Though they have only reached the playoffs once since he was drafted as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Towns remains committed to helping the Timberwolves win their first NBA championship title.

However, without a clear path to title contention, most people continue to believe that Towns would be available on the trade market before the 2022 NBA trade deadline.

'#FreeKAT' Tweet

Recently, Towns was once again involved in a controversy after he was caught reacting to a Twitter post urging the Timberwolves to trade him before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. On Twitter, NBA Central posted a screenshot of Towns liking a "#FreeKAT" tweet.

After it became viral, Towns decided to break his silence to address the issue regarding his controversial social media action. In an interview with Dane Moore of The Dane Moore NBA Podcast, the Timberwolves superstar said that he wasn't the one who liked the tweet, adding that he was "hacked."

Apologizes To Fans

While explaining the truth about his controversial action on social media, Towns also used his interview with Moore to offer an apology to the Timberwolves' fans.

"Sorry to the Wolves fans," Towns said. "I ain't want to cause no hysteria or anything like that. But just know I'm very happy. I know we're on a skid so it came at the worst possible time, that little hacking. Just know I'm very happy here. I'm excited to build more years here, not just this year."

Teams Monitoring Towns' Situation

Towns' recent statement has undeniably given the Timberwolves' fans one less thing to worry about in the 2021-22 NBA season. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to stop his potential suitors from monitoring his current situation in Minnesota. According to Kenneth Teape of NBA Analysis Network, there are "those around the league" who are "watching his situation closely."

Like other superstars who parted ways with the team that drafted them, there remains a possibility for Towns to leave the Timberwolves, especially if they continue to lose games this season.

Golden State

One of the most intriguing landing spots for Towns before the 2022 NBA trade deadline is the Golden State Warriors. Since the 2021 NBA offseason, the Warriors have been active on the market searching for a fourth superstar who would help Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green return to the NBA Finals and capture the Larry O'Brien Trophy next year.

By using young and promising talents like James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga, and Moses Moody as trade chips, the Warriors would be in a strong position to acquire Towns should he and the Timberwolves decide to part ways this season. Pairing Towns with Curry, Thompson, and Green would allow the Warriors to create another superteam that could beat any powerhouse team in a best-of-seven series.

Inside Chanel West Coast's Tragic Real-Life Story

Posted: 06 Nov 2021 07:43 AM PDT

For someone who's famous for her laughter, Chanel West Coast has faced plenty of sorrow in her private life. While it may seem like the successful rapper and TV personality has it all -- she's built a thriving music career, runs her own clothing line and boasts a net worth of $3 million -- the Ridiculousness host has suffered the loss of her boyfriend, as well as that of a few close friends who have meant a great deal to her.

Despite the tragic deaths she has mourned over the years, the 33-year-old continues to spread a message of positivity on her social media, with 3.5 million following her on Instagram.

Scroll for a look at Chanel's sad real-life story.

Lost Her Boyfriend At 19

Long before she dated Scottish musician Liam Horne, Chanel endured the tragic loss of her boyfriend, Saul Garcia, when she was just 19 years old. According to the Los Angeles Times, Saul and his friend Kevin Deville, who was also friends with Chanel, were shot and killed in a double homicide in Los Angeles' Van Nuys neighborhood in 2007.

As of 2017, the case was still unsolved, with the perpetrator reportedly being a gang member. Both young men were 21 at the time of the death.

Their grievous passing has left a deep mark on Chanel, who regularly commemorates them on social media.

"On 12/05/07 my ex boyfriend and his best friend were shot and killed. I can't believe you've been gone 2 years. I love u! RIP Saul & Kevin," the former Fantasy Factory star tweeted in 2009.

Chanel also mourned their loss on Twitter in 2012: "Last week on December 5th it was the 5 year anniversary of my 2 best friends being shot to death.(RIP Saul & Kevin❤)......"

Mourning Actress Nicole Dubos

Tragedy struck Chanel last year as well, when the female rapper lamented the loss of close childhood friend Nicole Dubos. The Alpha Dog actress died on February 3, 2020, as a result of an addiction disorder, with Chanel paying a heartbreaking tribute to her friend on the day of her passing.

"I am absolutely devastated to find out about the loss of one of my best friends since childhood," the "Sharon Stoned" rapper wrote on Instagram, sharing a slideshow of her and Nicole, which you can see below.

Blames Herself For Friend's Death

Chanel penned a long message commemorating her late friend, in which she expressed her anguish at her unexpected death. In one particularly heart-wrenching section, the MTV star blamed herself for Nicole's untimely demise.

"Nicole I am so sorry I didn't do more to help you. I'm so sorry that I was so busy and consumed with my own life and career that I hadn't taken the time to call you in over a year. I have never been more angry and sad about something I KNOW I could've helped prevent," she wrote in the lengthy caption.

Chanel continued: "I feel like such a piece of sh*t for not trying harder to help you with addiction issues and I just don't know how I'm going to ever get over this."

The Love & Hip Hop alum also poured her heart out in a tearful tribute to Nicole on Snapchat, given below, saying: "I really regret not being a better friend."

"If you have someone in your life who is struggling with substance abuse issues, do whatever it takes to help them. Get them off drugs, pill, get them into rehab," Chanel said through tears. "Do not let them die. Because I let my friend die, and I feel terrible."

Grieving Christopher 'Big Black' Boykin

The death of her childhood friend came just three years after Chanel grieved the loss of her friend and MTV co-star, Christopher "Big Black" Boykin, who died of a heart attack in 2017 at age 45. Boykin was known for MTV shows Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory and Rob & Big

"We're all very sad that he's gone. It's super tragic," she told E! Online nine days after his passing. "He was so young and he has a little girl, which makes it even sadder."

Chanel also spoke of Boykin's legacy.

"I think everyone is going to remember him as such a funny guy. He's going to keep people laughing forever in reruns to come. I think we're all going to remember him in a great way," she said. "It's just super tragic. I don't even want to talk about it."

The Story Behind Emily Ratajkowski's NFT

Posted: 06 Nov 2021 07:39 AM PDT

She just released a book titled My Body, but Emily Ratajkowski has been taking strides to regain ownership of her image long before her collection of essays hit Amazon last month.

Earlier in April, the supermodel and entrepreneur, 30, who has been modeling since she was 14, made headlines for creating her very first NFT, a digital non-fungible token. (The Inquisitr explains in detail what an NFT is here.)

The London-born model promoted the piece on Instagram, selling it at Christie's a month later. Here's why she made it and what she got out of it.

'Buying Myself Back'

Titled "Buying Myself Back: A Model for Redistribution," Ratajkowski's NFT was a link to a digital image of the model with a convoluted back story.

In the image attached to the NFT, the Inamorata Woman owner was posing in her home next to a print of a Sports Illustrated picture she had shared on social media. That magazine photo (her first appearance in SI), in which she wears a body-paint bikini, had been taken off of her Instagram account by New York artist Richard Prince, who blew it up and transferred it to canvas along with a comment he posted.

Prince later used that photo for profit without permission, along with another black-and-white nude shot of Ratajkowski that was originally taken for the SI Swimsuit Issue's cover, which he also grabbed from Instagram. The artist exhibited the nude at Gagosian in 2014 as part of his collection of paintings, "New Portraits," comprised of a series of repurposed Instagram screenshots.

Attempt To Buy Prince's Piece

Detailing the episode in her widely-read essay, "Buying Myself Back," published by The Cut last September, Ratajkowski recounted the great lengths she went to in order to get hold of Prince's nude "painting" of her.

After unsuccessfully trying to buy the piece from Gagosian (it had been purchased by an art collector), the Vogue model contacted Prince's studio, securing the second "Instagram painting" of herself.

Ratajkowski forked about $80,000 for the piece, splitting the cost with her then-boyfriend. When the couple broke up, she bought her ex's half of the painting, as well as a smaller "study" the studio had gifted her, which cost her $10,000.

"I was paid $150 for the shoot and a couple grand later, when the magazine came out, for the 'usage' of my image," Ratajkowski wrote in her essay.

NFT Idea

The idea to make an NFT using Prince's "painting" of her occurred to Ratajkowski one month after giving birth to her son this March.

"I was just honestly high off of postpartum hormones and spinning out of control. Everybody was talking about NFTs and I had my first glass of wine post-pregnancy and was like, 'This makes me think about…,'" she told Vanity Fair.

The model, who promoted the NFT on social media as seen below, later put it up for auction at Christie's, where it fetched $175,000 after fees.

"I hope to symbolically set a precedent for women and ownership online, one that allows for women to have ongoing authority over their image and to receive rightful compensation for its usage and distribution," Ratajkowski wrote on Twitter in April.

The model will receive a cut every time her NFT is resold, therefore gaining some degree of continued ownership over her image.

Meanwhile, Prince has defended the appropriation of photos for his "New Portraits," arguing that publicly available Instagram images constitute fair use.

Before the auction, Prince wrote in a since-deleted tweet: "I have no idea who Emily Ratajkowski is or what she does. I have never met her and I have never done her portrait. I have no interest in NFT's, Bitcoin, cryptocurrency."

Copyright Nightmare

Since the NFT Ratajkowski sold was a link representing a composite image that featured a photograph of herself in front of a print by another artist that contained a photo (of herself) taken by yet another artist, the entire thing is a copyright nightmare.

According to The Verge, there are many layers of copyright infringement to be considered. For one thing, even though Ratajkowski owns a physical copy of Prince's painting, she likely doesn't own the rights to digitally reproduce it.

"You've gotta assume Richard Prince isn't suing over this," writes the publication.

The Prince "painting" itself is a major copyright headache. Not only does it include a SI image, of which the magazine and/or its photographer might claim a "reasonable degree of ownership," but also Ratajkowski's profile pic on Instagram (likely a selfie), as well as comments written by followers, explains the Los Angeles Times. Naturally, the copyright issues that can be applied to Prince's "painting" are also applicable to Ratajkowski's NFT.

"If we're counting: there seem to be at least four images within this single image. We can reasonably assume that Ratajkowski owns two of them (the core photo of herself, plus her profile picture inside the Richard Prince painting)," The Verge tries to make heads and tails of the situation. "Richard Prince owns one of them (although that could be litigated). And Sports Illustrated and/or a photographer associated with Sports Illustrated presumably owns the final image."

Multiple WWE Releases Were Due To Vaccination Status

Posted: 05 Nov 2021 11:19 PM PDT

Thursday, it was announced that WWE released 18 members of talent in the company. Former NXT Champions such as Keith Lee, and Karrion Kross were among those let go. As well as former RAW Women's Champions such as Nia Jax and Ember Moon.

This news came as quite a shock across social media. At one point, the news on the releases gained seven of the top ten trending topics in the United States. Many fans were disappointed to see so many talented wrestlers not be given the chance to make a name for themselves any longer in the WWE.

Vaccine The Reason?

Sean Ross Sapp reported some interesting developments in the story on Fightful Select. According to reports, numerous releases were due to wrestlers' vaccination status. Fightful confirmed with their sources that at least five of the released wrestlers were "openly unvaccinated." That does not mean that that was the sole reason for the releases, and not all of the releases were due to vaccine records. It has not been confirmed which wrestlers were unvaccinated, and which were released due to other reasons.

Source Confirms Reason For Nia Jax's Release

Though, quickly after the report of the releases, the New York Post reported that a source "with knowledge of WWE's operations" said that one of the reasons why Nia Jax was released is that she is unvaccinated. This is the only wrestler from the cuts that have had a source say why they were cut. Thursday, WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis stated that budget cuts were a reason why WWE decided to make these releases at this time.

Reason For Vaccination Status

With as much traveling as wrestlers do, going to states where vaccination records shift from lenient to strict, international travel, media appearances, and more, the vaccination status of a wrestler can be important to maintain a spot on a WWE roster. Also, with the amount of physicality going on in the ring, there could be hesitation from vaccinated wrestlers wanting to work with unvaccinated wrestlers, especially if they have children or are perhaps immunocompromised.

Athletes Vs. The Vaccine

Sports are no stranger to controversy with athletes remaining unvaccinated. In the NBA, Brooklyn Nets Guard, Kyrie Irving is openly unvaccinated and has talked numerous times about his desire to do his own research on the subject. On Wednesday, it was reported that Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, [tested positive for COVID-19] (https://www.inquisitr.com/6498166/packers-aaron-rodgers-violated-nfls-covid-protocols-all-season) and that he was unvaccinated and would miss the game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. However, in Rogers case, he took an "alternative treatment" to the vaccine, and was disputing with the NFL to have him considered vaccinated, a request that the NFL ultimately denied Rogers. It will be interesting to see if vaccination status will change any other wrestler's status within the company.
