Kaia Gerber Hosts LA Art Show For A Charitable Cause

Posted: 22 Jan 2022 11:06 PM PST

Kaia Gerber proved she's definitely a woman of style and substance as she got glammed up for a charitable cause Wednesday night, January 19. The 20-year-old model and actress looked oh-so-beautiful while hosting the LA Art Show opening night premiere party, benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The yearly event donates 15 percent of ticket sales to St. Jude to support its efforts in providing treatment for pediatric cancer patients. Past show hosts include Rita Ora, Sofia Vergara, Kate Beckinsale, and others. This year was Gerber's turn. See the details below.

A Cause Close To Her Heart

The gorgeous daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford posted about the event on her Instagram with the caption, "[S]uch an honor hosting the 27th annual @laartshow opening night reception last night to benefit a cause very important to me ♥️ thank you to everyone who came out and supported @stjude as they work to ensure that families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food - because st. jude believes that all a family should worry about is helping their child live."

Old Hollywood Beauty

Gerber accompanied her post with a pair of stunning photos of herself wearing a wavy hairstyle and a black-and-white sequined dress by French luxury brand Celine. The overall vibe was very Old Hollywood-esque.

The American Horror Story actress' black dress featured a pointy white collar and cuffs, gold buttons, and all-over sequin detailing which, according to MailOnline, "took 1,848 hours to hand embroider." She teamed it with strappy black heels (also by Celine), a pair of dangling earrings, and natural-looking makeup.

Celeb Guests

Gerber wasn't the only famous celeb in attendance at the LA Art Show. Actor and musician Evan Ross, who's the husband of Ashlee Simpson and brother of Tracee Ellis Ross, was also there, as well as former model and America's Next Top Model judge Janice Dickinson.

East Los High actress Cinthya Carmona, Kaya McKenna Callahan (the daughter of soap opera star Eva LaRue), couple Rena Sofer and Sanford Bookstaver, and Kelly Pantaleoni of 50 Shades of Quarantine were also spotted among the attendees.

Art, Food And Entertainment

Gerber and the rest of the guests enjoyed evening entertainment, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages, and a first look at the exhibits. According to the LA Art Show website, the event "is the unparalleled international art experience with over 80 galleries, museums, and non-profit arts organizations from around the world exhibiting painting, sculpture, works on paper, installation, photography, design, video and performance."

The show runs from January 19 to 23, 2022 at the LA Convention Center South Hall and all the artworks presented are available for purchase.

Draymond Green Reveals Why He Started In Klay Thompson' Season Debut Despite Injury

Posted: 22 Jan 2022 11:03 PM PST

January 9, 2022, marked the first time that the Golden State Warriors' trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green reunited on the court since Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. More than two years after suffering an ACL injury, Thompson finally made his highly-anticipated return to the floor. Green wasn't supposed to be on the court in the Warriors' 92-86 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers since, during that time, he's dealing with an injury.

However, the Warriors' power forward still found a way to start alongside Curry and Thompson.

Draymond Green Honors Klay Thompson's Return

In a recent episode of The Draymond Green Show, Green talked about several interesting topics, including his decision to start in Thompson's return.

"I asked them 'can I at least just start the game' to be out there with them? And then I said 'Nope, I don't want to start the game because then if I start the game and I foul, that takes away from Klay's moment and I don't want to take away from Klay's moment,'" Green said, as quoted by NBC Sports. "And (Warriors director of sports medicine Rick Celebrini) Rick said 'no, I think it actually adds to his moment.'"

Draymond Green 'Pretty Emotional' In Klay Thompson's Return

At first, Green was having second thoughts if he would start in Thompson's return or not. However, after talking to the Warriors' director of sports medicine Rick Celebrini, he made up his mind to accompany Thompson at the start of the game. Green may have only stayed on the floor for a few seconds, but his presence has undoubtedly made Thompson's return more special.

In a recent interview with reporters, Warriors general manager Bob Myers talked about how Green felt that he's unable to play alongside Thompson against the Cavaliers.

"You know Draymond was pretty emotional too because he had realized that night that he wasn't going to play," Myers said. "So he was pretty shook up."

Warriors Struggling Without Draymond Green

The Warriors may already have Thompson back on the floor, but they are noticeably struggling without Green. Since losing him to an injury, the Warriors have gone 5-7 and shown a decline in their performance on the offensive end of the floor. As of now, they are only ranked 11th in offensive efficiency, scoring 108.4 points per 100 possessions, per ESPN.

After losing more games in Green's absence, the Warriors also dropped in the Western Conference standings. So far, they are sitting at the No. 2 spot behind the Phoenix Suns.

Updates On Draymond Green's Injury

As of now, it still remains unknown when will Green rejoin Thompson and Curry on the court. On January 16, the Warriors found out that Green's calf pain stems from a disc issue in his lower back and said that he would be re-evaluated after two weeks.

In an appearance on 95.7 The Game's Damon & Ratto on Wednesday, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr gave an update on Green's injury. Though he couldn't give a specific date regarding his return, Kerr assured their supporters that Green's injury won't require surgery.

Drama Surrounding Julius Randle & Knicks Continues To Worsen

Posted: 22 Jan 2022 10:58 PM PST

It was not too long ago when the New York Knicks' fan base still admired veteran power forward Julius Randle. After being named an NBA All-Star, All-NBA Second Team, and NBA Most Improved Player last season, most people viewed Randle as one of the players who would lead the Knicks back to title contention. However, things have started to change in the 2021-22 NBA season.

After failing to live up to the hype, Randle turned from being one of the most loved players on the Knicks into the odd man out in New York.

Julius Randle Starts War With Knicks' Fans

The relationship between Randle and the Knicks' fan base has started to worsen during their January 6 matchup against the Boston Celtics. After scoring in the fourth quarter, Randle was caught sending a thumbs-down sign to their fans. In a post-game interview, the veteran power forward said that he gave their fans a thumbs down to tell them to "shut the f--- up," according to ESPN.

It was easy to understand why Randle was frustrated with their fans. The Knicks may have beaten the Celtics in their matchup but when they were trailing by double figures, they were being booed by their own supporters inside Madison Square Garden.

Julius Randle & Knicks Got Fined

Randle received a $25,000 fine from the NBA for using profane language twice during interviews. Aside from their January 6 game against the Celtics, Randle also used profane language after a January 5 practice. After that, the Knicks decided not to let Randle attend an interview.

Unfortunately, the Knicks' decision to shut Randle's mouth fired back. In a Twitter post, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports revealed that NBA also fined the Knicks $25,000 for violating league rules governing media interview access.

Opponents Notice Fans' Treatment Of Knicks

After they beat the Knicks on Thursday night, New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard Josh Hart noticed that the Knicks don't really have a homecourt advantage inside the Madison Square Garden.

"It was like we were playing 6-on-5," Hart said, as quoted by Mark W. Sanchez of the New York Post. "Usually on the road, your back's against the wall, really the only guys that you have is guys in that locker room. Today, the fans weren't on our side, but they just weren't on their side, either."

Can Knicks Turn Things Around This Season?

As of now, the Knicks are on a three-game losing streak, sitting in the No. 11 spot in the Eastern Conference with a 22-24 record. The Knicks still have plenty of games left to turn things around in the 2021-22 NBA season. However, a Western Conference executive who spoke to ESPN has doubts if the Knicks can really make their second consecutive appearance in the playoffs this year.

"It's hard to argue [the Knicks] should be anything other than what they are right now," the anonymous league executive said. "I don't think Julius is going to suddenly be more efficient, and I don't think Kemba, Fournier or even Rose -- when he's healthy -- are going to get better defensively."

Patriots Players Share Their Real Thoughts On Mac Jones

Posted: 22 Jan 2022 10:54 PM PST

The new-look New England Patriots had a better season than most NFL insiders expected. Their defense was top-notch, and their offense showed glimpses of great promise.

More importantly, the Pats may have found the right guy to lead the post-Tom-Brady era.

Mac Jones looked poised, ready, and in control for most of the season. Moreover, his work ethic and leadership turned a lot of heads among the team's veterans, earning the respect of his colleagues even before the start of the season.

Jones Earned The Respect Of The Vets

In a recent interview, Patriots veteran Matthew Slater raved about how Jones made a great impression, lauding his development and determination to keep getting better every single day:

"I know my kids and I will watch be watching him a long time to come," Slater told Patriots Wire. "It's certainly been an honor for me to play alongside him and see him grow over the course of the year. Patriots Nation — they should be excited about having No. 10 as a quarterback."

Mac Jones Knows The Pats Will Get Better

Jones was disappointed in the way their season ended but knows he'll grow from that experience, just like the rest of the team:

"We put a lot of effort into it, it's not like we don't do that, but I think just the little things show up in the game. Like tonight, just the little things for everybody, myself included," Jones said, per the Patriots website. "That's just something that I learned. I'll just try to watch the tape and learn from it. I do appreciate everybody on our team for having my back."

Jones Is Looking Forward To Next Season

Per Jones, it's all about getting more reps and real-time situations. Just like a pilot, flight hours and practice will make perfect:

"I think you get more comfortable with anything you do in life," the QB said. "I always relate it back to being a pilot. If you're a pilot and you've only flown so many times, by the time you have hundreds of flight hours, it's just an every day thing for you. For me, obviously I was a rookie and I played like that sometimes and I shouldn't have and I can play better and that's my goal this offseason is just to advance and bring the guys along with me."

The Patriots Are Ahead Of Schedule

In reality, no one expected the Patriots to come this far this season. They overachieved but proved that their success could be sustainable.

All they need is to add a couple of more pieces, give Jones a longer leash, and hope he turns out to be the franchise QB he has the potential to be.

The Pats' defense, albeit humiliated in their last game, was ball-hungry and physical, and Bill Belichick will always be the last guy you want to meet on the other sideline.

Lori Harvey In Bikini Relaxes In The Bahamas

Posted: 22 Jan 2022 07:01 PM PST

Lori Harvey is living it up in the Bahamas with these new snaps. The model's boyfriend Michael B. Jordan recently shared a video showing their time on the Island on her birthday. Now Lori's posting some follow-ups flaunting her sunkissed caramel skin.

See the photos below

Sin-Kissed Beauty

In the first picture, the 25-year-old Michael Kors ambassador sits on a white yacht lounge in a turtle neck Chanel crop top with a black line on the sides and sleeves. She leans slightly backward with her left hand on the chair while looking out to the ocean. Lori stretches her right leg and hikes the left one on her tippy toes, catching the sunlight on her skin. True to her Island girl theme, she ties a blue and white print scarf over her curly black hair and adorns her ears with bold hoop earrings.

A Sea Of Blue And White

Lori moves her photo shoot to a white lounge couch of blue and white colors matching the yacht, sea, and deck pool. She leans once more against the multiple blue and white throw pillows on her couch. She pulls her knees to her stomach as she rests the heels of her feet on the hot tub's edge then beams at the camera. The light reflection on her skin lightened her legs, so some fans falsely assumed she had bleached her skin.

A Vision In Chanel

As though anticipating troll's backlash, Lori posts a timestamped mirror selfie in the same outfit showing her very chocolate skin in all its glory. She brandishes her scarf like a tote, flaunting her gold body and waist chain sitting beautifully on her toned abs and nude string panties.

She also includes a GIF showing herself sitting on the tub's edge while sipping from a rose gold cup. Lori cools her legs in the blue water after a successful shoot under the burning sunlight.

…And Scene

The final picture shows Lori's sunkissed skin at a clearer angle. She leans on the pool lounge seater hiking her right leg to display her thick thighs and flat tummy. The Chanel print scarf is back on her head, alongside her gold accessories – Body Chain, Bracelet, Hoop Earrings, and Lori Harvey is the epitome of island beauty.

She closes her eyes to soak up the sun and enjoy the serenity of the deep blue Bahamas sea. You can almost feel the peace of mind through the screen as the blue skies add the perfect aesthetics to a style goddess' picture.

Chloe Kim Opens Up About Olympic Struggles And Desire To Win Gold

Posted: 22 Jan 2022 06:56 PM PST

Would you believe Chloe Kim trashed her 2018 Olympic Medal? Yes, the Olympian revealed to TIME magazine that she hated her life back then and still maintains a complicated relationship with her mementos as a halfpipe champion.

The pressure of being "the youngest female Olympic gold medalist in snowboarding history" overwhelmed Chloe as she plunged blindly into a life of fame.

Post-Olympic Depression

After her record-breaking win at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang, Chloe Kim faced depression. Being unable to go about her daily activities without fans recognizing her was frustrating, "the minute I come home, I can't even go to my goddamn favorite place. It makes you angry. I just wanted a day where I was left alone," she said.

Although she appreciated the love, Chloe wished, "people could understand what I [she] was going through up to that point."

Dealing With Racists

Being Chinese-American hasn't been easy for Chloe Kim, as she's faced a fair share of racism. When Kim won a Silver Medal in Halfpipe at 13, she received hate from many of them who told her to return to China.

"I ended up crying myself to sleep on the best night of my life. At that point, you're like O. K., who can I turn to? Who has probably dealt with this before?" she said.

Debunking Misconceptions

In those days, the common consensus amongst fans was, 'I just met her, and she's such a b*tch' but Chloe debunks that notion. She explained that the Olympic stress weighed her down, "I'm not a bitch. I just had the most exhausting two months of my life, and the minute I get home, I'm getting hassled."

While Kim didn't understand the need to balance fame and her private life in her early days, she's learned to do better now. "I guess I would tell my younger self that even though things get hard and people are mean to you or whatever, it'll get better, and you're going to realize that you have so much good happening in your life, that the bad isn't going to hurt you."

2022 Beijing Olympics

Chloe Kim, who joined TEAM USA at 13, guns for Gold in the Beijing Olympics, starting Feb. 3. The expectations aren't lost on the young Olympian as she practices ahead of the games. She told TIME magazine that she had new tricks up her sleeves but didn't want any pressure.

"Don't have too many expectations. Just let me vibe. I'm just trying to chill. No, I'm just kidding," she adds. "You just expect a whole lot out of me. I'm going to go off." It's good to see she still has a sense of humor.

Love Island’s Georgia Steel Shows Off 5 Bikini Looks In Mexico

Posted: 22 Jan 2022 06:49 PM PST

Georgia Steel had an amazing time in Mexico this week, and she shares her vacation pictures with her one million-plus Instagram followers. She also calls Cancun "paradise" like another Love Island UK alum Arabella Chi. She shared some of her favorite bikini moments. Here are five of them for your viewing pleasure.

A Sight In Black

Day One in Mexico has Georgia in a black bikini with her hair tied in a low bun and bangs framing her face. A gold ring holds the U-cut top, together on the side hiking a little up to tease some under boob action.

The bottoms also hold on the sides with a similar gold ring which we see when Georgia turns her back and side profile to the camera. Her tanned body glistens under the Mexican sun with a few water droplets, and she accessorizes with simple gold jewelry – a wristwatch, bangle, ring, and stud earrings.

Beach Bum

Again like Arabella, Georgia brands herself a "Beach Bum," posing with her back to the camera in a black bandeau and thong bikini. The model piles her brunette hair on her head in a messy bun as she angles her apple bum to the camera. You can tell she just got up from the beach because her legs still have some sand on them. Cancún's blue skies and ocean serve as the perfect backdrop for her tanned skin.

Selfie Time

The ex-islander shares a mirror selfie of herself in a neon orange bikini for her followers. The bra top forms a knot in the middle of her chest as she covers her face with her white iPhone. She styles her hair in pigtails capturing the Queen-sized bed in the background.

Bombshell in Black

Georgia poses at a beach bar flaunting her well-rounded butt in a black string bikini (it appears the model can't get enough of black.) The triangular design dips in the middle, exposing more flesh as she arches her back towards the camera. Her fresh makeup face stares innocently as she moves her right hand slightly back to tease a side profile of her chest. Georgia adorns her wrist with a bright pink band and thin gold bracelet.

Mellow Yellow

Georgia is a "Yellow Sunshine" sight to behold in this barely-there two-piece swimsuit. The bra's shaped like a bandeau with two strings holding each cup together in the middle, while the bottom is a high-hip thin strap pant. The pastel bikini meshes flawlessly with her smooth skin.

The model Love Island UK alum poses against a big door flaunting different angles of her curves. She even adds a cheeky video at the end to tease fans as she flips her blunt-cut bangs brown hair.

Kim Kardashian Is 'Soaking Up The Sun' In Swimsuit

Posted: 22 Jan 2022 06:05 PM PST

If you thought Kim Kardashian's recent Tiffany & Co knot jewelry campaign looked familiar, you're right. The pictures take us back to an old Keeping Up With The Kardashian episode when Kim was still with Kris Humphreys, and Kourtney dropped the iconic soundbite, "Kim, there's people that are dying."

The business mogul overcame her fear of losing expensive jewelry in the water and delivered several amazing poolside snaps while soaking up the sun.

Check out the recreated pose, and jewelry below.

Double Promotion

Kim executes her cover photo tastefully as she poses wearing a mock neck SKIMS shapewear and positions herself in an emergence pose as she leans her weight on the pool's edge. The 41-year-old ties her black hair in a ponytail to highlight the three knot Tiffany & Co. earrings on her left ear.

The camera zooms in on her fingers in the next slide, showing three Knot rings – two yellow Gold and one white Gold. Kim also wears natural makeup to accentuate the sun's reflection on her skin.

Into The Deep

The model swims in clear blue water submerging her body except for her face and upper left arm. She looks back cheekily at the photographer turning her lips in a half-smirk. It's almost as if she knows the Tiffany & Co. banter is coming.

She joins a slew of celebrities, including The Carters - Beyonce and Jay-Z, and Olympic skier Eileen Gu in promoting the jewelry company. While the Carters promoted a rare yellow stone diamond, Gu also represented the Knot set.

Fans React

If Kim thought she'd outlive one of her embarrassing KUWTK TV moments, she's got another thing coming because fans would never let that happen. Fans jokingly reminded Kim of her ordeal in the comments. One wrote, "Don't drop it in the water," and another said, "Kim, there's people that are dying."

"I lost my diamond earring," Kim said amid tears on the family's vacation in Bora Bora, and Kourtney dismissed her, implying her tears were frivolous because "there are people dying in Africa." The famous jewelry was one ear of a $75,000 Tiffany & Co. stud earring.

New SKIMS

Kim's loungewear brand SKIMS recently released an Outdoor capsule collection a few days after announcing its Olympic collaboration with Team USA. The new collection caters to customers who love outdoor sports like hiking, as we can see from the campaign ad – the models pose in the woods. See the picture below for a glimpse of the new Outdoor collection.

Kaia Gerber Reveals How The Pandemic Influenced Her Lifestyle And Career

Posted: 22 Jan 2022 05:58 PM PST

The COVID-19 pandemic influenced everyone's life in ways we never imagined possible, and the celebrities aren't exempt. Many people learned to readjust their lifestyle to accommodate the new normal, including Kaia Gerber. The 20-year-old model opened up to PEOPLE this week on the changes she's made in her career and lifestyle.

Re-Evaluating Her Personal Life

As a model, it's easy to allow the glitz and glamour to convince you that Hollywood is the only source of joy, and the pandemic took that away from everyone. People couldn't work or jet-set like before, so how else could they get satisfaction? The face of YSL learned to draw happiness from within rather than rely on external gratification.

Speaking to PEOPLE at the St. Jude Hospital benefit on Wed, Jan. 19, Kaia said, "I think it's made me re-evaluate my personal life a lot more. I think it's so important people are realizing how important their happiness is outside of work when you don't have all these outside resources to gain happiness from, where that internal happiness comes from."

Careful Selection Of Locations

Since the pandemic, there have been restrictions on flights worldwide as many countries seek to manage the COVID-19 spread. "I think the most fashionable thing is being responsible," the model said. In light of the spreading virus and new variants, Kaia's being careful with her choices.

She further said, "I think twice about it in a way that I didn't before. It's definitely made me think a lot more before getting on a plane." Perhaps the protocols and tests necessary for boarding a flight these days add to her skepticism.

Vaccination Views

When asked about her views on non-vaxxers, and vaxxers, Kaia said, "It's definitely a group effort, and I think that it's kind of making people realize how everyone is in it together, and everyone's decisions affect the world so much more globally than we ever believe to be true. I think that people are learning a lot more about teamwork in all of this."

Charity Work

The young model was at the event to promote her charity work. She plunged into charity giving to preserve the memory of her uncle, who died of Leukemia as a 3-year-old. "I've worked with St. Jude for a very long time. It's very near and dear to my heart and my mother's heart and to support art. I'm so excited to see the exhibition and to host. It's such an honor, and in the place I grew up," she said during her toast.

Mikaela Shiffrin Outskies A T-Rex In New Jurassic World X Olympics Crossover

Posted: 22 Jan 2022 05:44 PM PST

Olympic Gold Medalist Mikaela Shiffrin is a beast on the slopes, and her opponents know that except for a new, unexpected challenger. The 26-year-old faced her unexpected challenger in a Jurassic World crossover campaign for the Winter sports that had our hearts pulsing. Mikaela expertly navigates the slopes (because her life depends on her skill) as she avoids the human-eating T-Rex. She delivers her role flawlessly, leaving us no choice but to add "Actress" to her list of hidden talents.

A Bigger Threat

As Shiffrin enjoys a leisure ski in the woods, she notices a Raptor hot on her heels and runs fasters to avoid death. She's unfortunately not fast enough as the dinosaur catches up and prepares to eat the Olympic medalist when an even bigger predator – Tyrannosaurs Rex – appears.

Suddenly the Raptor (Blue) retreats, and Mikaela skis faster for her life. Enter credit scene: Olympic Winter Games "Feb. 3." It seems we have an action-packed event to anticipate.

Olympic X Jurassic World Crossover

So, the burning question on everyone's mind is, "Do we prepare for an Olympic against dinosaurs?" No. While that'll be a not-so-cool scene from a sci-fi movie, the Jurassic World crossover was a first look at the upcoming installment of the cult classic Jurassic World: Dominion.

If you remember, the previous film Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Dinosaurs entered America roaming freely on the continent. That was a precursor for this new installment which would have humans come face-to-face with the iconic characters, including a few new members.

Mikaela On Shooting A Crossover Commercial

"We've all grown up being awe-struck by the incredible dinosaurs in the Jurassic World films, so to suddenly be able to step into the world of these films and interact with Blue myself was exciting and unforgettable," she said. The Olympic gold medalist joins two other Olympians – Snowboarder Shaun White and Figure Skater Nathan Chen – who encounter the threatening creatures mid-practice in the crossover event.

The commercials would air during the Olympics premiering on Feb. 3, as teasers ahead of its theatrical release in June. The film would also crossover characters from Jurassic Park merging both cinematic universes in a Climax.

Preparation For The Olympics

Since her Covid-19 diagnosis, Mikaela had to take time off the slopes, which the champion explained was very difficult. She told Today, "I never take more than two to three days max during a season, so having my ski boots off the snow was the hardest thing to overcome."

"It's a little bit up and down with the excitement, and obviously, it's a little bit of nerves," she said about her feeling.
