How Naya Rivera's Death Pushed Her Sister Nickayla to Change Her Life Posted: 11 Jan 2022 11:46 AM PST Grieving her sister. Nickayla Rivera returned to YouTube after a four-year hiatus with a video that explained how she changed her life after the death of her sister, Naya Rivera. The model, 28, discussed how she found her place in front of the cameras alongside sweet home videos from her childhood, which showed her and her sister strutting around their backyard “modeling” as children. However, Nickayla noted that her mental health had taken a downturn by 2019 as her career hit a plateau. At the time, she was living in New York City, thousands of miles away from her family in Los Angeles. “I lost a lot of confidence in myself. I wanted to get out of this dark place that I was mentally, and I felt like 2020 was going to be my year,” the California native explained in the 10-minute YouTube video, uploaded on Monday, January 10. While Nickayla promised herself that she’d do more for her career, the COVID-19 pandemic hit just a few months later, forcing her to spend some much-needed time at home. “I got to spend a lot of time with my family, which I hadn’t had before because I was always traveling and I was always working,” she said. Her time with the Glee alum, however, was cut short. “My family and I experienced a tragic loss. In July of 2020, my sister Naya passed away,” she recalled. “And when that happened, I was in complete shock. My whole family was in complete shock. It was like someone pulled the rug from under us and we didn’t see it coming. The dark place that I was in before only progressed when that happened. At that time, I had no thoughts of my future. I had no thoughts of myself, really. I was only just experiencing pain.” Nickayla’s older sister was reported missing on July 8, 2020, after her son Josey, who was 4 years old at the time, was found alone on a boat they rented at Lake Piru in Los Angeles. The 33-year-old actress was pronounced dead after her body was recovered from the lake on July 13. Naya is survived by Josey and Nickayla as well as brother Mychal Rivera, father George Rivera and mother Yolanda Previtire. The loss of the Sorry Not Sorry writer sent Nickayla into a depression until she decided to take control of her mental health. “I realized that the pain that I was experiencing wasn’t going to go anywhere until I decided to find the good in this world,” Nickayla explained in Monday’s video. “So from then on, I went on this journey of discovering who I was.” Her first change was dropping her worst habit, vaping, which she’d picked up two years prior. “Quitting that was really hard, but when I did, I felt so empowered. I felt like I could do anything after that,” she said. She also started to work toward a healthier lifestyle in other ways. “I picked up journaling and started writing about my feelings. I said no to doing a lot of things that I didn’t want to do but normally would for other people. I started putting myself first,” she noted. “I became mindful and observed how I felt each day.” The vlogger continued: “I started asking myself the tough questions of what’s stopping me from being myself? What’s past hurt am I still holding onto? And why am I not living like every day is a gift? Because it is. When I started answering all those questions honestly to myself, and I stopped the act, I stopped lying, I stopped pretending, I found myself. I can say that I am a completely changed person.” Nickayla, who had been on a four-year hiatus from her YouTube channel before returning earlier in January, said that her entire outlook on the human experience is different now that her priorities have shifted. “Before I looked at life like it was a burden because of small, minute things that in the grand scheme of things, don’t matter," she concluded. "Now I look at life for what it is: an opportunity to show the world who you are, for your authentic self and nothing less. They say we only have one life, so live it. But I feel like we only have one day. We only have one moment. The next moment is not promised, so live this moment like you stole it.” |
Jana Kramer Finds ‘Happiness’ With Boyfriend Ian: ‘It Feels Really Nice’ Posted: 11 Jan 2022 11:23 AM PST ![]() She's smitten! Jana Kramer gave fans a look at her day-to-day life with new boyfriend Ian Schinelli, confirming their relationship after months of speculation. "Sometimes you just have to stop fighting it and listen to your heart," the 38-year-old actress wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, January 11. "I don't know what the future holds and honestly who does … Everyday [sic] I continue to heal and I know there is still lots of work to do, but damn it feels really nice to find happiness along the way." The Holiday Fix Up actress shared a series of photos with her new man, including snaps of them kissing on a boat and building a snowman. "To find someone who doesn't look at your scars as a challenge or problem but rather helps you hold them and stands there to encourage you with love, strength and empathy along the way," she added, tagging Schinelli, 36. ![]() One day prior, Kramer joked, "I found my rental husband" while the fitness trainer did work on her house. Schinelli shared the same video with his followers on Monday, January 10, writing, "Girl House. Girl Tools," as he had to use a pink screwdriver. Hours earlier, the One Tree Hill alum tried to side-step questions about the former Navy SEAL during the Monday episode of her "Whine Down" podcast. Inquiries about her new man came flooding in after Kramer posted a TikTok video with the single dad from her bedroom earlier this month. "Trying to do a challenge. This is almost 40," she captioned the goofy attempts at popular challenges, including one where a shirtless Schinelli attempted to lift the "Voices" songstress. The duo also shared a kiss in one of the outtakes. During her podcast on Monday, however, Kramer appeared to be hesitant about the TikTok clips. "It was cute," the Christmas in Louisiana actress admitted. "I'm too old to be doing TikTok." The "I Got the Boy" singer explained that although she's posting photos and videos with her beau, she wasn’t ready to go fully public. The duo have, however, been sharing videos and photos on their Instagram Stories during the past few months. "I'm scared. It's a scary thing. Dating is scary," Kramer said on Monday. "It's a scary world out there." The Michigan native didn't go into too much detail about her love life post-Mike Caussin split, but she revealed that she didn't cry on New Year's Eve — which could be in part thanks to Schinelli. "I made my little goal list. I did personal, work and relationship," she explained about her holiday celebration. "It was great and then I played ping pong. Had some friends over. It was really, really great. That was a good way to go into the new year." Kramer, who split from Caussin, 34, in April 2021 after six years of marriage, sparked relationship speculation with Schinelli in early December 2021. At the time, the pair shared separate photos from a trip to the Florida Keys, which eagle-eye fans noticed had multiple similarities. Us Weekly exclusively confirmed Schinelli's identity later that month as the pair continued to be spotted together in Nashville. The mother of two, who shares daughter Jolie, 5, and son Jace, 3, with the former NFL player, has been hesitant about sharing details about her boyfriend. She told her podcast listeners in December, "I don't want to be embarrassed again. I was mortified with the stuff that came out with my ex and I." |
Jana Kramer’s Relationship History: Past Engagements, Divorces and More Posted: 11 Jan 2022 11:00 AM PST Jana Kramer's relationship history has the making of a great country song. The "I've Done Love" songstress has been candid about her love life, past and present, with her fans. Most recently, Kramer filed to end her third marriage, announcing she and Mike Caussin called it quits in April 2021 after six years of marriage. "I've fought y'all. I've loved hard. I've forgiven. I've put the work in. I've given everything I have, and now I have nothing else to give," she wrote via Instagram. "I just can't fight any longer. It's time to heal. Thank you for all the love, heart, and support, in many ways you have fought on this journey alongside me, and for that I am grateful. I'll always encourage you to continue the good fight, but you can't fight it alone. News of their split came four years after Us Weekly exclusively revealed that the former NFL player was unfaithful. The twosome attempted to navigate Caussin's battle with sex addiction for years before pulling the plug on their relationship. Kramer was previously married twice before she met Caussin. During her stint on Dancing With the Stars in 2016, the One Tree Hill alum revealed she was in an abusive marriage when she was 19 years old. Several years later, Kramer was briefly married to actor Johnathon Schaech. The duo filed to end their union during the summer of 2010 after less than a month of marriage. Despite her tumultuous relationship history, Kramer has maintained she believes in love and marriage. In 2018, she referred to herself as a "total love addict." "I need to go to meetings. [Mike and I] were both love addicts attracting each other," the actress said on the "Scrubbing In With Becca Tilley & Tanya Rad" podcast. "We were both unhealthy, which is why we moved so fast. If you don't tell me you love me within two weeks, if I didn't make you fall in love with me in a couple weeks, I was out. My challenge was always to get the guy to do that … It's bad. Like, love addiction is a real thing. It's real bad." Three months after their split, Us confirmed that Kramer and Caussin’s divorce was officially finalized. "That was the hardest of all the days," Kramer emotionally recalled the moment she signed her divorce papers during a May 2021 episode of her “Whine Down” podcast. "Just, like, seeing all the signatures and it not being what I wanted. That was a very hard day. And I called him after I signed the papers … and I expressed to him, you know, 'I know I wasn't a perfect wife, but I would have fought forever for this family and for you.’" Scroll through for a complete breakdown of Kramer's relationship history: ![]() Kramer detailed the alleged abuse she endured during her first marriage after she married Michael Gambino in Las Vegas in 2004. "I still have that fear when I’m alone, him coming to grab me and … throwing me out of bed,” she said on Nightline in 2016. "The verbal and the mental abuse they give you is almost more painful than the physical because it tears you down even more with the words.” Kramer recalled hiding in the brushes after Gambino attacked her and tried to kill her when he was under the influence. He was subsequently convicted of premeditated attempted murder in 2005 (the same year they split). While he was released on parole after five years behind bars, Gambino died by suicide. Peter Brooker/Shutterstock ![]() Kramer started seeing her Prom Night costar in 2008 and the twosome got engaged in 2009. While they exchanged vows in July 2010, Kramer and Schaech announced their breakup in August of that year, calling it quits just 12 days after the ceremony. Their divorce paperwork was finalized in June 2011. More than a decade after their split, Schaech posted a picture from their nuptials, tweeting, “I had to explain this photo to my son today. I told him I’ve been married three times. But I got it right when I married his mother [Julie Soloman].” Kramer fired back at Schaech, who she referred to as her “friend,” on her podcast. "It bothered me,” she said. "I ended up texting John because he started to continue commenting about how it was a horrible day, and nothing was real about it. And I'm like, can you be nice and not say mean things about me on Twitter?" BDG/Shutterstock ![]() Kramer’s next high-profile romance was with the fellow musician. The pair got engaged after six months of dating in January 2013. They called off their wedding plans that August. "I'm really sorry for the person that I was and the way that I wasn't healthy enough to be in that relationship,” she said while reflecting on the engagement during an April 2020 podcast episode. "I wasn't the best version of myself in that relationship. I just wasn’t. I always have a little bit of regret that I didn't handle things better." Gilbert, for his part, said during a 2014 radio interview that their relationship just “didn’t work.” He explained: “Some things happened, and it didn't work out. … I think the world of her. She's one of the most genuine people I know. And that's the honest to God truth. I think the world of that little girl." Frank Micelotta/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Us reported in 2013 that Kramer was dating Clint Eastwood's son. While sources said they met through mutual friends, their romance didn’t last. Shutterstock (2) ![]() Kramer met the former NFL player in 2014. “When he walked on my tour bus, I was like, ‘That’s the man I’m going to marry,’” she recalled to Us in 2015. While they fell hard fast, she hinted that he was unfaithful when she unfollowed him on social media shortly after they started dating. The twosome reconciled and he proposed that December and they wed in May 2015. Less than two years into their marriage — and shortly after she gave birth to daughter Jolie — Us exclusively revealed that he cheated on her with multiple women. The duo subsequently separated as he entered treatment for sex addiction. Kramer later revealed in her 2020 memoir (cowritten with Caussin about fighting for your relationship) that she had some "flings and flirts” during their separation. After the athlete completed treatment, the twosome renewed their vows in December 2017 and welcomed son Jace the following November. The spouses continued to document their ups and downs on their podcast, “Whine Down,” revealing in March 2019 that Caussin suffered a "sex addiction relapse.” That October, she found a topless photo on her husband’s phone. While they later agreed it was a "bot," they hit another rough patch in early 2020 when Kramer briefly wiped Caussin from her social media profiles, declaring that February that they were having a New Year’s Eve “re-do" after a big fight. Three months after admitting to Us that she doesn’t completely trust Caussin, Kramer filed for divorce in April 2021.Their divorce was finalized three months later. Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() Kramer was briefly linked to Cutler after they were spotted spending time together in September 2021. One month later, a source exclusively told Us that their whirlwind romance was over, noting, "The real reason [they broke up] is because he didn't succeed at making [estranged wife] Kristin [Cavallari] jealous." The One Tree Hill alum, for her part, explained that the twosome were never exclusive. "Obviously the whole Jay stuff, that became public because we went out and he was a very public person so obviously that came out, but I never spoke on it because I didn't know what it was," she said during a December 2021 episode of her podcast. "Just because I went on a date with someone doesn't mean we're exclusive and he's my boyfriend. He was never my boyfriend." At the time, Kramer posted a photo of herself in a robe where a mystery man was clearly visible in the reflection. Us exclusively confirmed his identity later that month after eagle-eyed fans noticed they were both in the Florida Keys at the same time in early December — and later posted similar photos from the getaway. “Sometimes you just have to stop fighting it and listen to your heart,” Kramer wrote via Instagram in January 2022, confirming her relationship with the former Navy SEAL. “Everyday I continue to heal and I know there is still lots of work to do, but damn it feels really nice to find happiness along the way. Did John Mulaney's Ex Anna Marie Tendler Make Her Divorce Playlist Public? Posted: 11 Jan 2022 10:18 AM PST ![]() The soundtrack to heartbreak. Fans think Anna Marie Tendler went public with her breakup playlist after her divorce from John Mulaney was finalized — and it packs a powerful punch. Spotify users discovered a mix titled “Rooms In the First House,” which also happens to be the name of one of the 36-year-old’s recent artworks. The creator of the 95-track playlist is listed as AMT. As it began to attract attention, Tendler clarified the inspiration behind the arrangement. “People are referring to this as a breakup playlist, it’s not!” she wrote in an Instagram Story on Tuesday, January 11, confirming she was the one behind the music. “It’s just all my favorite songs, many of which have inspired my work this year. … Hope you enjoy.” The Spotify account is following four artists — Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus — all of whom are featured on the extensive playlist. Billie Eilish, Fiona Apple, Mitski, Bon Iver, Kacey Musgraves and Fleetwood Mac are also prominent players on the mix, which is nearly six hours long. Tendler and Mulaney, 39, tied the knot in July 2014 after four years of dating. Us Weekly confirmed in May 2021 that the twosome had called it quits following the comedian’s relapse in his drug and alcohol addiction. (He voluntarily checked into a 60-day rehab program in December 2020.) “John will not have any further comment as he continues to focus on his recovery and getting back to work,” the Chicago native’s spokesperson told Us following the pair’s split. The makeup artist, for her part, noted in a statement at the time: “I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage. I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery.” Us confirmed on Thursday, January 6, that the duo finalized their divorce proceedings in New York City. The former Saturday Night Live writer submitted the paperwork to end his marriage five months prior. Ahead of the settlement, Tendler reflected on her tumultuous year in a candid Instagram caption. “Melancholia is oft amplified by circumstance and the circumstances of my year have been harsh and punishing,” she wrote in the New Year’s Eve post. “I find myself asking, ‘when will I feel normal?’ but in reality I recognize that the normal from before has expired; ‘normal’ is an impossibility, there is only ‘new.'” Mulaney has been through significant changes of his own over the past few months, welcoming son Malcolm with Olivia Munn in November 2021. Us confirmed their relationship in June 2021, shortly before the Big Mouth star announced the Newsroom alum, 41, was pregnant. “Olivia and this baby have helped save me from myself in this early journey out of recovery,” he said on Late Night With Seth Meyers in September 2021. Fans have been fascinated by the timeline of the new parents’ relationship — but Munn defended their romance shortly before giving birth. “They think they know our relationship so well. When in reality, they don’t,” she told the Los Angeles Times of online commenters in November 2021. “There’s no way anyone could know what any of his relationships were or what our relationship is. … There’s this vulnerability that I feel that makes me want to … just turn everything off. I’d rather close the door to that and just take care of myself and my baby.” |

The model, 23, shared an inspiring quote via Instagram on New Year’s Day along with a lengthy caption about what she experienced over the past 12 months. “2021, You changed my life. This year I fought 365 battles,” the quote read. “Some that I lost. Some that I won. Some days were very good. Some days were very bad. I learned that in order to rise I had to fall. To grow, I had to heal. To feel happy, life had to be painful. I learned that nature would not take anything less.” The passage continued: “This was a year of spiritual awakening. I realized not all things matter in life, but the things that do I must hold on. This year I warred with myself. Above all, this year I survived.” In the comments, the 58-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star dropped a string of red heart emojis. Us Weekly confirmed on Monday, January 10, that Delilah Belle and Booker, 26, called it quits after more than two years of dating. The twosome were first linked in April 2019 and confirmed their romance the following month. ![]() Before their breakup made headlines, the California native seemingly shared her last Instagram photo with the Love Island alum in November 2021. “Attending my first ever wedding for the beautiful @ivygetty so naturally I had to dress up.. but OH MY YOU LOOKED INSANE I HAD CHILLS,” she captioned a mirror selfie with her then-beau. Booker celebrated Christmas with the Hamlins, shortly after Delilah Belle opened up about experiencing a series of health struggles throughout 2021, including her battles with Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS), Epstein-Barr virus and encephalitis. Amelia Gray Hamlin‘s sister also told her social media followers that she sought treatment after being over-prescribed Xanax. “I wasn’t like a drug addict,” she explained during an emotional Instagram video last fall. “But my body was dependent on it because of how much the doctor had prescribed me.” At the time, Booker showed his support in the comments, gushing, “I love you & know you will get better. Day by day The pair were forced to date long-distance throughout the coronavirus pandemic, a source exclusively told Us in November 2021, noting that “travel restrictions” made it hard for the twosome to spend time together. However, the U.K. native was Delilah Belle’s “rock” amid her health scare. “[Eyal]’s been super supportive all along,” the insider said. “It’s been hard on him too but he’s 100 percent there for her.” If you or someone you know is struggling with substance abuse, contact the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357). |
Jennifer Lopez Wants to Be the 'Best Partner' to Ben Affleck in 2022 Posted: 11 Jan 2022 09:05 AM PST ![]() New year, new goals. Jennifer Lopez revealed her intentions for 2022, and one of them was all about her romance with Ben Affleck. The Hustlers actress, 52, discussed her resolutions for the year in an Instagram video posted on Monday, January 10. “[I’m] just thinking about being really mindful of what I want my life to be and knowing that my thoughts create my life, and keeping those really positive so I can grow and be my best this year,” the “Jenny From the Block” singer began. “Better than ever — mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally.” The next part of her speech, however, is what caught fans’ attention. “[I want] to be the best mother I can be, the best partner I can be, the best friend I can be — the best daughter, sister, boss, person that I can be,” Lopez said. The New York City native and the Argo director, 49, rekindled their romance last year after Lopez split from ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez. The Oscar winner and the JLo Beauty founder, who were engaged from 2002 to 2004, made their relationship Instagram official in July 2021. Last month, an insider exclusively told Us Weekly that the duo are thinking about wedding plans even though they’re not yet engaged. "Both Ben and Jen want their wedding to be an elaborate statement of their love story for their friends and family," the source said in December 2021. "They really want [everyone] to have a good time. They want it to be intimate, but immaculate." After the Last Duel star and the “Get Right” songstress appeared on their first red carpet together in almost 20 years, a second insider told Us that the pair are ready to walk down the aisle. "Things just keep getting better for J. Lo and Ben,” the source said in September 2021. “They're so in love and it's only a matter of time before they're officially engaged. They are both all in and looking to spend the rest of their lives together. It doesn't even cross their minds that it might not work out for the long term." The Wedding Planner star was previously married to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998 and to Cris Judd from 2001 to 2002. She shares twins Emme and Max, 13, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, from whom she split in 2011. Affleck, for his part, split from ex-wife Jennifer Garner in 2015 after 10 years of marriage. Jenna Jameson shared a Monday, January 10, hospital video, telling her Instagram followers that she has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome. "Hey guys, first of all thank you for all the love and support through my DMs," the former adult film star, 47, captioned the footage. "I see each and every one of you, and I appreciate it. I hope to be out of here soon." ![]() The Las Vegas native noted that she "did NOT get the [coronavirus vaccine] or any jab," concluding, "This is NOT a reaction to the jab. The social media upload came two days after the Hawaii resident's fiancé, Lior Bitton, posted an update from her account, saying that she hadn't been "feeling so good" and was "throwing up for a couple weeks." ![]() The businessman, 48, explained on Saturday, January 8: "She wasn’t able to walk to the bathroom. She was falling on the way back or to the bathroom, and then I would have to pick her up and take her to bed. And then within two days, it got really not so good. Her legs started to not hold her. She wasn’t able to walk.” Bitton, who shares daughter Batel, 4, with Jameson, wrote, "Today is her third day in the hospital. The hospital did CT, MRI and Spinal Tap tests. Waiting to find out what's going on and how we can treat her so she can get better and feel better." The CDC defines Guillain-Barré Syndrome as a rare, autoimmune disorder in which a person’s own immune system damages the nerves, which causes muscle weakness and paralysis. The condition can last for a few weeks to several years, even giving some people permanent nerve damage. Jameson got engaged to Bitton in 2019, two years after she gave birth to Batel. While the little one is their first child together, the How to Make Love Like a Porn Star author is also the mother of twins Jesse and Journey, 12, with ex Tito Ortiz. In September 2018, Jameson revealed that her sons had "unfortunately not" met Batel as they live full-time with their mixed martial artist dad, 46. She wrote via Instagram Stories: "That is important to me, and I hope one day things get better and it's possible." |
Alia Shawkat: How Brad Pitt Reacted to Rumors We Were Dating Posted: 11 Jan 2022 08:09 AM PST ![]() Not on his radar. Alia Shawkat was “shaken up” by the rumors about her relationship with Brad Pitt — but he wasn’t even fazed. The Search Party star, 32, reflected on being caught up in the whirlwind of the dating rumors, telling The New Yorker in a new profile that the attention “came in hot and left as fast as it came in.” The twosome initially raised eyebrows when they were spotted together at a November 2019 art exhibition. “It was so weird. Now it's like a weird dream, where I'm like, ‘Did that happen?’ … [Brad] had no awareness of it at all. Which is so funny. Because he doesn’t read that s–t,” Shawkat teased in the interview, which was published on Sunday, January 9. “I was like, ‘You know everyone thinks we’re dating? And there’s this whole thing, and I’m being followed.’ And he was like, ‘I’m sorry. It happens. If you hang out with me, it happens.’ He had no awareness of it at all.” When the pair first sparked dating rumors, a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time that there was nothing romantic going on between the actors. While Pitt, 58, may not have been bothered by the speculation, Shawkat’s family kept track of all the headlines. “The other day I was at my grandmother’s house, my father’s mother. She’s been in this country for over 30 years and still barely speaks English. [She’s] an Iraqi Muslim woman. She’s sitting there, watching her Turkish soap opera. And next to her is this old gossip magazine with Brad's face, and my face in a small circle. … I looked at my grandmother, like, ‘Why do you have this?'” the Arrested Development alum recalled. “She’s like, ‘It’s you and this movie star! And it’s your face.’ I was embarrassed by it. I told her she had to throw it away. And she laughed.” Shawkat and the Ad Astra star were first spotted together less than one year after he became legally single in the wake of his September 2016 split from Angelina Jolie. In May 2020, an insider told Us that the California native’s connection with Pitt was “organic and easy.” She firmly shut down the romance rumors during an interview with Vulture one month later. “We’re not dating,” she told the outlet. “We’re just friends.” The heightened attention was a new experience for the Duck Butter star, whose personal life — despite her decades in Hollywood — hadn’t often made headlines. “At the time, it was not fun at all. … There’s something ironic about it. It has nothing to do with Brad as a person — he’s a great f–king guy,” she told The New Yorker. “But of course, the idea of me being romantically involved with an older white guy is what gets me the most attention. Not a 20-year career. That’s what gets me.” Shawkat felt grateful that the frenzy was “super brief,” even though the drama was a little “stupid” and “embarrassing” in her eyes. “I was shaken up by it because I have a studio in Highland Park where I go every day. Robin Thicke and More Stars React to Bob Saget's Death: 'Heartbroken' Posted: 11 Jan 2022 07:49 AM PST Remembering a legend. Following the death of comedian Bob Saget at age 65, many of his former costars and friends paid tribute and shared their condolences. "Just heard the news. Devastated. I'm going to miss you, my friend," Tom Bergeron tweeted on Sunday, January 9, sharing a clip of the pair discussing their careers. "For my very last @AFVofficial, I asked my friend for a special favor. He said yes. I'm forever grateful." Both Bergeron, 66, and Saget had previously hosted America's Funniest Home Videos in their careers. "We are saddened to hear about the passing of the great @bobsaget. Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this time," the official AFV Twitter page wrote on Sunday. Shortly after, other stars opened up about Saget's warm heart and their history with the late comic. "He had the biggest heart and wore it on his sleeve. He was so generous with his feelings. A mensch," Andy Cohen tweeted on Sunday after learning the news. Tom Green, another comic, tweeted: "I am extremely saddened to just hear of the passing of my friend Bob Saget. You were always hilarious and kind. You made my life and so many other people’s lives better Bob. Rest In Peace." Several of Saget's former costars also reacted to the news via social media. “Oh god. Bob Saget!!! The loveliest man. I was his TV daughter for one season and he was always so kind and protective. So so sorry for his family," Kat Dennings, who acted opposite the star in 2001's Raising Dad sitcom, tweeted on Sunday night. In the one-season comedy, the Pennsylvania native played widowed father Matt Stewart who was working to raise his two daughters (Dennings and Brie Larson, respectively) with the help of his live-in father, played by Jerry Adler. "I went, ‘Oh, man. I don’t know,'” Saget told Deseret News in September 2001 about taking on another single father role after the finale of Full House. “But then I read it, and I really liked it a lot. And even though it was stuff that I invested in before, I wanted to do it. “I’m not going to be doing Danny Tanner. He's not needy. He doesn’t hug people a lot. He listens to brand-new music. He’s edgy.” Saget, who was best known for his role of Danny Tanner on Full House and its Fuller House revival, was found dead at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday. He had been in Florida to perform at a comedy showcase on Saturday, January 8. Orange County Sheriff's Office confirmed his death via Twitter. "Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room," the tweet read. "The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case." Saget, in addition to his role as the Full House patriarch, had featured roles in the likes of Entourage, How I Met Your Mother, Meet Wally Sparks and Madagascar. Any run in or hang out or meal he always made you laugh and always left you feeling better than you felt before.” Ferrara went on to write, “I still remember his first day on Entourage when he showed up at our front door. From moment one he was ON FIRE. The handshake at the end of that scene sealed the deal. He was gonna be around for awhile on the show. 'Full House' Cast and Creator Mourn Bob Saget: 'I'll Never Let Go' Posted: 11 Jan 2022 07:14 AM PST Touching tributes. Bob Saget's former Full House costars shared their emotional reactions to the late actor's death on Sunday, January 9. The Fuller House alum died at age 65 in a hotel room in Orlando, Florida, the Orange County Sherriff's Office confirmed. "Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room," the organization tweeted. "The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case. #BobSaget." The Pennsylvania native was in the middle of a comedy tour, which began in September 2021 and was scheduled through May. "Loved tonight's show @PV_ConcertHall in Jacksonville," the Dirty Daddy author tweeted on Sunday morning alongside an onstage selfie. "Appreciative audience. Thanks again to @RealTimWilkins for opening. I had no idea I did a 2 hr set tonight. I'm happily addicted again to this s–t. Check http://BobSaget.com for my dates in 2022.” In addition to his career as a stand-up comedian, the Grammy nominee was best known for playing Danny Tanner on Full House from 1987 to 1995. He went on to reprise the role from 2016 to 2020 for Netflix's revival series. Saget gushed exclusively to Us Weekly in December 2019 about the "really nice goodbye" that cast members gave fans of the show, noting that he was "crying all over the place" when saying bye to Tanner for good. "I was very, very verklempt," the former America’s Funniest Home Videos host said at the time. "It brought back a lot of memories for me. At the end of Full House, I just kind of stayed by myself. We had no warning that we were going to be canceled. We were asked to go to the WB or CW and John [Stamos] and I said, 'No, let's not do that.'" The Temple University grad added that he and Stamos, 58, among other cast members "have stayed friends all these years," saying, "It's not just a press thing that we say. To see [Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber] so accomplished and see three empowered women do a comedy kids show with morality lessons — it had those elements in the original series. I was more emotional about seeing them and being with them. It's not the same show it used to be, but it can't be." The onscreen family man had kids of his own, welcoming daughters Aubrey, Laura and Jennifer while married to then-wife Sherri Kramer from 1982 to 1997. Following his split from the screenwriter, 65, the Raising Dad alum went on to wed Kelly Rizzo in 2018 in California. I am gutted that I will never be able to hug him again. Bob ended every text, every interaction with 'Love you,'" Barber wrote via Instagram. "Didn’t matter how long or short we’d been apart. He loved so deeply and so fiercely. And he never hesitated to tell you just how much you meant to him. This is the greatest lesson I learned from Bob Saget - don’t hesitate to tell people you love them. I feel at peace knowing that Bob knew exactly how much I adore him." She continued, "Rest well, my dear friend. I have no doubt you are making everyone in Heaven laugh until their cheeks hurt, just as you did here on Earth." Later that same day, Barber shared a video of Saget delivering a speech during a Fuller House table read. “Bob could never resist an opportunity to make a speech,” she wrote via Instagram. “He was so gifted at knowing exactly how to articulate the moment and feelings. … I wish he were here to say the perfect speech to heal our hearts with love and laughter.” Mediapunch/Shutterstock ![]() "I am broken," the Grandfathered alum tweeted. "I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby." Stamos went on to write via Instagram that he was “not ready to accept” Saget’s death, adding, “I’m going to imagine him out there, still on the road, doing what he loves with all his heart and humor. … He goes to sleep dreaming of when we'll all meet again — and he's smiling. I know in my heart he's smiling, still hearing the laughter from a few hours before. I’m just not ready to say goodbye yet. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe.” Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock ![]() "Words cannot begin to express how devastated I am. Bob was more than my friend; he was my family," the When Calls the Heart alum said in a statement to Us. Jim Smeal/Shutterstock ![]() The actress wrote a lengthy Instagram tribute, quoting her Full House character. "There aren’t enough words to express what I’m feeling today. Nor are they big enough to capture even a slice of who he was. One thing I do know, is that we never missed a chance to tell each other, 'I love you,'" she wrote in part, later adding, "But you were supposed to be here longer… How Rude." The character was kind, genuine, neurotic, a bit nerdy, a hugger with a heart of gold, and endearingly funny. That was Bob," Full House creator Jeff Franklin shared via Instagram. "And the x-rated sense of humor that was left out of Full House. But Bob’s charm and love-ability was the reason people embraced Danny Tanner. It was my joyful honor to be a brother of Bob’s for 42 years. Comedy icon and exceptional human being. Your spirit and your work will live on. Love you Bob." Fuller House's Andrea Barber Shares Bob Saget's 'Perfect' Table Read Speech Posted: 11 Jan 2022 07:13 AM PST Memory lane. One day after Bob Saget's sudden death, Andrea Barber posted touching footage of the late actor giving a speech at a Fuller House table read. "Bob could never resist an opportunity to make a speech," the 45-year-old actress captioned the Instagram video on Monday, January 10. "He was so gifted at knowing exactly how to articulate the moment and feelings. This speech which he made at our season 5 first table read so perfectly encapsulates Bob. It's full of so much laughter, love, and heart." The Los Angeles native concluded that she misses her fellow Full House alum "so much," writing, "I wish he were here to say the perfect speech to heal our hearts with love and laughter." In the speech, Saget gushed about how "proud" he was to "be able to raise" Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, noting that he met them while starting his own family. (The Pennsylvania native shares Aubrey, 34, Lara, 32, and Jennifer, 29, with ex-wife Sherri Kramer.) ![]() "I only had one kid when the show started and I didn't like her," the Dirty Daddy author joked. "Then Jodie slept over at the house. Candace was 10 and we would look forward to our scenes together because they were so real." The Grammy nominee went on to praise Bure, 45, Sweetin, 39, Barber and the rest of the Fuller House cast and crew on the success of the revival, which aired on Netflix from 2016 to 2020. "[Full House] is a show that is so loved all over the whole world and will always be. It's a piece of television history and what you guys did with Fuller [House] is amazing," the stand-up comedian said, gushing about the "high-style comedy bits" and family values. "You guys are so amazing to have done this and I couldn't be prouder if I was your own dad. And I love you and here is to a wonderful, beautiful flourish to a long annuity of things that are gonna run forever." ![]() Barber could be heard laughing in the background of the footage as Saget cracked jokes. The social media upload came hours after the Full Circle author addressed her former costar's Sunday, January 9, death for the first time. "This one hurts," the Whittier College grad captioned an Instagram slideshow on Monday. "He had the biggest heart of anyone in Hollywood. He gave the biggest hugs. I am gutted that I will never be able to hug him again. Bob ended every text, every interaction with ‘Love you.’ Didn't matter how long or short we'd been apart. He loved so deeply and so fiercely. And he never hesitated to tell you just how much you meant to him. This is the greatest lesson I learned from Bob Saget — don't hesitate to tell people you love them. I feel at peace knowing that Bob knew exactly how much I adore him." Barber concluded with a message to Saget, writing, "Rest well, my dear friend. I have no doubt you are making everyone in Heaven laugh until their cheeks hurt, just as you did here on Earth." |
John Stamos Doesn’t ‘Accept’ Bob Saget’s Death: I’m Not Saying Goodbye Yet Posted: 11 Jan 2022 06:44 AM PST Missing his friend. John Stamos shared a heart-wrenching update about how he's coping with the loss of his Full House costar Bob Saget. "I'm not ready to accept that he’s gone — I’m not going to say goodbye yet," the 58-year-old actor began on Monday, January 10, via Instagram. "I'm going to imagine him out there, still on the road, doing what he loves with all his heart and humor. He’s standing on stage, killing! Another two-hour set in front of a couple hundred of the luckiest people on the planet. They’re laughing so hard, they weep." Saget was found dead in his Florida hotel room on Sunday after performing stand-up at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Florida. He was 65. "On his way to the hotel, he calls his beautiful, loving wife, Kelly," Stamos continued, referring to Kelly Rizzo, whom Saget married in 2018. "He says he feels 26 again, alive! Then asks her to fix up a picture he wants to post. She tells him it doesn’t need fixing, and tells him how handsome he is. He tells her he loves her with every bit of his heart. And when he gets to the hotel to put his head on the pillow, he misses his daughters, his family, his friends. God, he loves us all so much." The Big Shot star's message made references to Saget's final Instagram post about Saturday's two-hour set, which read in part, "I'm back in comedy like I was when I was 26. I guess I'm finding my new voice and loving every moment of it." Stamos concluded: "And he goes to sleep dreaming of when we’ll all meet again — and he’s smiling. I know in my heart he’s smiling, still hearing the laughter from a few hours before. I'm just not ready to say goodbye yet. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe." The You alum previously tweeted that he was "broken" and "gutted" after hearing the news of Saget's death on Sunday, writing, "I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby." The cast of Full House, including Stamos, David Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Lori Loughlin and creator Jeff Franklin also released a joint statement via social media on Monday. ![]() "Thirty-five years ago, we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family. And now we grieve as a family," the statement read. "Bob made us laugh until we cried. Now our tears flow in sadness, but also with gratitude for all the beautiful memories of our sweet, kind, hilarious, cherished Bob. He was a brother to us guys, a father to us girls and a friend to all of us. Bob, we love you dearly. We ask in Bob's honor, hug the people you love. No one gave better hugs than Bob." Full House aired for eight seasons from 1987 to 1995. With the exception of the Olsen twins, the cast reunited for Netflix's revival series, Fuller House, which wrapped in 2020 after five seasons. Saget is survived by Rizzo and his adult children, Aubrey, Lara and Jennifer. He shared his daughters with ex-wife Sherri Kramer. |
Jimmy Kimmel Breaks Down in Tears Over Bob Saget: He Was 'The Sweetest’ Posted: 11 Jan 2022 05:55 AM PST Trying to put it into words. Jimmy Kimmel struggled to deliver an emotional tribute to Bob Saget after his friend died on Sunday, January 9. “If you’ve read anything about Bob online last night, if you saw any of the many thoughts from people who knew him personally, a word that came up a lot was ‘the sweetest,'" the 54-year-old Jimmy Kimmel Live! host began in a pre-taped opening monologue on Monday, January 10. "Bob was the sweetest, he was the sweetest man, and the reason people wrote that is because it’s true. It’s the best word — if you had to pick one word to describe him, that was it — ‘the sweetest.'” ![]() Kimmel noted that he had "many wonderfully kind and supportive texts and emails, calls" from Saget that he revisited after the 65-year-old comedian was found unresponsive in his Florida hotel room on Sunday. "He always had a compliment. He would write sometimes just to tell me he loved me, and I know he did that for many people," Kimmel continued, calling the late actor "so funny" — beyond his roles on Full House, America’s Funniest Home Videos and his stand-up sets. “I mean funny for real, like when you walked into a party and you saw Bob and his wife, Kelly [Rizzo], in the corner, you go straight to them and stay for as long as you could because he had something funny to say about everything and nothing bad to say about anyone." The late night host went on to share part of an email that Saget sent him about fatherhood, which read, “One night soon let’s go out and have some meat and some good damn drinks and talk about how lucky we are that we have them.” ![]() Kimmel began to cry when he referenced his 4-year-old son, Billy, who underwent several heart surgeries as a newborn. “And we did do that, many times. When my son was in the hospital, Bob checked in a lot," Kimmel said. "So, I want to send love to his daughters, to his wife, Kelly, and to his friends who loved him so much.” Saget is survived by Rizzo, 42, whom he married in 2018, and his daughters, Aubrey, Lara and Jennifer, whom he shared with ex-wife Sherri Kramer. Kimmel got visibly emotional several times during the tribute, admitting he taped the opening, "like, 14 times." Before sharing clips from Saget and John Stamos' 2017 appearance on his show, Kimmel concluded his speech by encouraging viewers to donate or learn more about Scleroderma Research Foundation. (Saget's sister Gay died from the disease in 1994.) "He was very committed to finding a cure for this incurable disease that took his sister’s life," Kimmel said. "And I know that if you want to remember him there’s nothing he would appreciate more than if you support S.R.F." |
Brian 'Q' Quinn: Joe Gatto's 'Impractical Jokers' Departure 'Shocked' Me Posted: 11 Jan 2022 05:53 AM PST Breaking his silence. Brian "Q" Quinn addressed Joe Gatto's Impractical Jokers exit for the first time, nearly two weeks after news broke. "The only thing I'll say that's new information is I was f–king shocked when I found out too," the former firefighter, 45, said during the Monday, January 10, episode of his "Tell Em Steve-Dave" podcast with Walt Flanagan and Bryan Johnson. "I didn't necessarily see that coming. He's a friend and I'm not gonna talk about his personal life, which is clearly where he's gone now. It is what it is." The New York native noted that he, James “Murr” Murray and Sal Vulcano were "back to work," saying, "Initially, we didn't even know — ‘Is this even worth doing without Joe?’ But you just look at it and yeah, [it is]. I don't want to not do it. If I left the show, I wouldn't want the guys to stop just because I left. There are so many negatives to Joe not being there. We're losing a comedic powerhouse." The comedian added that there's "nothing" to do but "accept" the new reality and "give [themselves] permission to have fun." He explained, "Once I got through that feeling, it's been a f–king blast. It's almost like a new show now. Isn't that weird? He was so instrumental behind the scenes and that's just gone now so it's a new vacuum. You can only fill parts of it here, everywhere. The show, it's gonna be a bit weirder. I'm able to get a little bit more of my s–t [in]." ![]() Gatto, also 45, announced via Instagram in December 2021 that he was leaving the TruTV show — as well as divorcing his wife, Bessy Gatto. "I just wanted to let you all know that I will no longer be involved with Impractical Jokers," the Tenderloins member wrote at the time. "Alongside my friends, I've devoted a decade of my life to building this franchise and couldn't be prouder of what has been accomplished. However, due to some issues in my personal life, I have to step away. Bessy and I have decided to amicably part ways, so now I need to focus on being the best father and coparent to our two incredible kids. Bessy, 39, added in a post of her own: "With love and respect, we have decided to separate. Although we will no longer be a couple, we will always be a family to our beautiful kids and we look forward to coparenting together. We ask that you please respect our privacy as we navigate this new chapter together. And of course we will still continue to help animals and rescue dogs, which is something we are both passionate about!" In a TikTok video one week later, the mother of two raised her hand when asked to show the "broken" item in her house "that everyone just accepts and lives with." |
Everything to Know About Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Posted: 11 Jan 2022 05:00 AM PST A royal affair! Queen Elizabeth II is set to hit a very important milestone in 2022 — and the palace is celebrating the occasion all year long. The monarch will mark 70 years on the throne on February 6, making her the first British ruler to ever celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. (She is already the commonwealth’s longest-reigning monarch, surpassing her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria in 2015.) Buckingham Palace announced the initial plans for the celebration on January 10, kicking everything off with a nationwide baking competition to create a Jubilee Pudding in honor of the occasion. The festivities will culminate in a four-day weekend in the U.K. lasting from June 2 through June 5. “The bank holiday will provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the United Kingdom to come together to celebrate the historic milestone,” the palace said in a statement at the time. The queen is no stranger to setting unprecedented records, becoming the first British monarch to celebrate a Sapphire Jubilee — which occurs after 65 years on the throne — in 2017. Elizabeth rose to power in February 1952 after her father, King George VI, died at age 56. She was coronated in June 1953. Since taking the throne, the queen has been served by 14 British prime ministers including Winston Churchill (her first), Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair. She is also the longest-serving female head of state in the history of any country. Though the upcoming event is supposed to be a joyous occasion, it will also mark the queen’s first jubilee without her husband, Prince Philip, who died in April 2021 at age 99. On a happier note, however, it may provide the monarch with the chance to see all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren after the coronavirus pandemic forced her to scale back her Christmas plans. In January 2021, royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti exclusively told Us Weekly that Prince Harry could make the journey to the U.K. for the celebration with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Archie and Lili. Since her birth in June 2021, Lili hasn’t yet been to her father’s home country. “This is an extremely exciting moment,” the British journalist told Us, noting that the jubilee could give the family another opportunity to mend fences after the Sussexes announced they were stepping down as senior royals in January 2020. “Sometimes all families might use a special occasion or an event to put some things behind them that maybe have been causing trouble,” Sacerdoti explained. “Hopefully, this jubilee year will be the opportunity for them to do so.” Keep scrolling for everything to know about the queen’s Platinum Jubilee: ![]() The queen officially passes the 70-year mark on February 6, but the pudding competition kicked off one month prior. Additional events will take place across the U.K. throughout the spring, culminating with the four-day bank holiday from June 2 to June 5. Matt Dunham/AP/Shutterstock ![]() The bank holiday weekend will kick off with Trooping the Colour on June 2, the traditional parade to mark the queen's official birthday. Pandemic permitting, the event will close with a Royal Air Force flyby, watched by the queen and members of the royal family from the balcony of Buckingham Palace. Over 1,500 beacons throughout the U.K. and its commonwealth countries will be lit to commemorate the occasion. On June 3, a service of thanksgiving for Elizabeth's reign will be held at St. Paul's Cathedral. The following day, the queen will attend the Derby at Epsom Downs. Also on June 4, the BBC will host a concert live from Buckingham Palace featuring "the world’s biggest entertainment stars." June 5 will see the London-based Platinum Jubilee Pageant, with "artistic performers, dancers, musicians, military personnel, key workers and volunteers" uniting to tell the story of the queen's reign "in an awe-inspiring festival of creativity." The day is also set aside for the Big Lunch, which will be hosted in communities throughout the country. The competition is open to all amateur U.K. bakers over the age of 8, with entries accepted until February 4. After four weeks of judging, the final winner will be announced on March 14. The winning baker's recipe could become as famous as some other royal recipes throughout history. Coronation chicken, for example, was developed in 1953 for Elizabeth's coronation. Victoria sponge, a common element on GBBO, is so named because of Queen Victoria's fondness for the fluffy dessert. "Designed by esteemed artists and made with original craftsmanship, Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee coins are enduring pieces of art that will be collected, cherished and passed down for generations," Clare Maclennan, divisional director of the Royal Mint in Llantrisant, Wales, told the BBC in January 2021.
