How Candace Cameron Bure Honored Bob Saget After His 'Beautiful' Funeral Posted: 17 Jan 2022 11:27 AM PST Remembering all the good times. Candace Cameron Bure is still leaning on fellow Full House alum Dave Coulier and his wife, Melissa Coulier, one week after Bob Saget's passing. "This has been one of the hardest weeks of my life and yet, incredibly beautiful because of family and close friends," the 45-year-old actress wrote via Instagram on Monday, January 17. "Yesterday was a better day. We walked, we laughed, we reminisced." The Aurora Teagarden Mysteries star thanked her former costar Dave, 62, and his wife, 38, for their continued support after Saget's death. She also wore a sweatshirt that read, "Love like Jesus, hug like Bob Saget," in the late star's honor. ![]() Saget was found unresponsive in his Orlando, Florida, hotel room on January 9. He was 65 years old. After news broke of the actor's death, the Full House cast quickly rallied around one another. "I The California native went on to explain why she was wearing the custom sweatshirt while out with Dave in Malibu, California, on Sunday, January 16. "I think it sums everything up just right. Love like Jesus, hug like Bob Saget," she concluded, noting that she had the garments made for Saget's wife, Kelly Rizzo, and the rest of her family. Dave posted the same photo with the Christmas Contest actress from their hangout on Sunday, telling his Instagram followers that the twosome were "sharing a funny story, laughing and reminiscing about Bob," adding that the actress' shirt "perfectly" encapsulated Saget's impact. Cameron Bure played the eldest Tanner sister, D.J. Tanner, on Full House for eight seasons alongside Dave (as Uncle Joey) and Saget (as dad Danny Tanner) from 1987 to 1995. The trio reunited in 2016 for Netflix's revival, Fuller House, which ran for five seasons until 2020. On Friday, January 14, members of the series' cast — including John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, Jodi Sweetin and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen — reunited for Saget's funeral. Stamos, 58, and Dave even served as pallbearers during the service before the group attended a celebration of life memorial at the home of Jeff Franklin, the sitcom’s creator. "There were lots of tears, of course, but so much laughter too," a source exclusively told Us Weekly about the service. "It was a perfect goodbye to Bob." One day later, Rizzo, 42, reflected on how much love she was able to share with her late husband during their six years together. The duo tied the knot in October 2018 after meeting through a mutual friend three years prior. "We had that time to make each other the happiest we'd ever been and change each other's lives forever. I got to be the one to love him and cherish him," the blogger wrote via Instagram on Saturday, January 15. "He deserves all the love. Every ounce of it. Because that's how amazing Bob was. He was love. If you were in his life you KNEW he loved you. He never missed an opportunity to tell you." The Eat Travel Rock Productions founder added: "I have no regrets. We loved each other so damn much and told each other 500 times every day. Constantly. I know how much he loved me until the very last moment and he knew the same. I'm so grateful for that. Not everyone gets that." Along with Rizzo, former America's Funniest Home Videos host is also survived by his three daughters, Aubrey, Lara and Jennifer, whom he shared with ex-wife Sherri Kramer. Saget and Kramer were married for 15 years before calling it quits in 1997. |
Joss Whedon Denies Threatening Gal Gadot on 'Justice League' Set Posted: 17 Jan 2022 11:27 AM PST ![]() Joss Whedon denied Gal Gadot‘s allegations that he threatened her career, claiming any conflict between the actress and the director on the set of Justice League was a misunderstanding. "I don't threaten people. Who does that?" Whedon, 57, said in a lengthy interview with New York Magazine, published Monday, January 17. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator, 57, reflected on his time taking over 2017’s Justice League. Warner Bros. brought Whedon in to take over for director Zack Snyder, who stepped down after his daughter died by suicide, and the Avengers director worked in many rewrites and 40 days of reshoots — which caused tension on the set. In April 2021, the Hollywood Reporter outlined how Whedon allegedly "threatened to harm Gadot's career and disparaged Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins” after the Diana Prince actress, 36, brought up creative concerns. Whedon reportedly told her to "shut up and say the lines," threatening to "make her look incredibly stupid in this movie." When asked about her relationship with the filmmaker, Gadot told THR, "I had my issues with [Whedon] and Warner Bros. handled it in a timely manner." In his New York Magazine interview, the director claimed that the Israeli actress — who speaks fluent English — misunderstood him. "English is not her first language, and I tend to be annoyingly flowery in my speech," Whedon told the magazine. The New York native acknowledged that they argued over cutting a scene and claimed he jokingly told her that she “would have to tie him to a railroad track and do it over his dead body,” the outlet explained. “Then I was told that I had said something about her dead body and tying her to the railroad track," he alleged. The Red Notice star disagrees with his recollection. "I understood perfectly," Gadot told NY Mag in an email. The Wonder Woman 1984 actress wasn’t the only one who took issue with Whedon. He denied actor Ray Fisher‘s claims that Whedon abused his power and lightened the 34-year-old Cyborg actor’s skin tone. Whedon said none of Fisher’s allegations were "either true or merited discussing.” The writer is unsure of Fisher’s motives, but he maintains that the actor is lying. "We're talking about a malevolent force," he said. "We're talking about a bad actor in both senses." The problems went beyond the cast. An anonymous crew member alleged Whedon once paused the shoot to announce that he’d never worked with "a ruder group of people.” The outlet quoted another unnamed source on set who noted that Snyder encouraged improvisation while Whedon wanted the actors to be word-perfect, causing even more tension. Still, the Firefly creator lamented that critics were using "every weaponizable word of the modern era to make it seem like I was an abusive monster," he said. He certainly doesn’t see himself that way. "I think I'm one of the nicer showrunners that's ever been." |
Amber Rose Defends Kardashians, Slams Kanye West After Old Tweet Resurfaces Posted: 17 Jan 2022 09:48 AM PST ![]() Leaving the past in the past. Amber Rose distanced herself from an old tweet about Kanye West and the Kardashian family amid drama over his daughter’s birthday party. “Man f–k that old ass tweet,” the Philadelphia native, 38, wrote in a message posted to her Instagram Story on Sunday, January 16. “I never got an apology for his ’30 Showers’ comment but f–k it.” The How to Be a Bad Bitch author dated the Grammy winner, 44, from 2008 to 2010. Five years after their split, the “Runaway” rapper said that he “had to take 30 showers” before he started dating Kim Kardashian. In response, Rose fired off a string of tweets about her ex and his then-girlfriend, 41, including the one that resurfaced and went viral over the weekend. “I’ll leave that up to the Kartrashians to humiliate u when they’re done with u,” she wrote in February 2015. The Dancing With the Stars alum admitted on Sunday that she regretted bringing the Skims founder and her sisters into the conversation, especially given that West was the only person responsible for the “30 showers” comment. “Kim nor her sisters deserved that tweet and y’all shouldn’t cosign it either,” she wrote. “S–t was old and immature af of me to involve the KarDASHians in the mess HE made. Moving forward … Learning from my mistakes. We all have kids and family’s [sic] life is hard enough right now for a lot of ppl I just wanna spread love and positivity.” The model shares son Sebastian, 8, with ex Wiz Khalifa and son Slash, 2, with Alexander "AE" Edwards, whom she split from last year. West, for his part, shares North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2, with Kardashian. The reality star filed for divorce from the Yeezy designer in February 2021. During an Instagram Live on Saturday, January 15, West claimed that his estranged wife refused to give him the address for Chicago’s birthday party one day prior. “I wasn't allowed to know where her party was, there's nothing legal that's saying that this is the kind of game that's being played," he said at the time. "It's the kind of thing that really has affected my health for the longest and I'm just not playing. I'm taking control of my narrative this year." After the musician’s claims made headlines, an insider told Us Weekly that Kardashian was totally caught off guard by her ex’s statements. "There were always two parties planned for Chicago, which was Kanye's idea,” the source explained. "Kim was shocked to learn that he released a video about not being invited to her party — that's not true and as soon as he asked to come he was given the location. He's at the birthday party." In a separate Instagram video posted later on Saturday, West said that he did make it to the party thanks to Kylie Jenner‘s partner, Travis Scott. "Yo, I'm so happy right now," the “Stronger” singer said at the time. "I just came from Chi's party and I just gotta shout out to Travis Scott for sending me the address and the time and making sure that I was able to spend that birthday memory with my daughter to be there with the rest of the family." |

Nikki Glaser Records Song for 'The World's Friend' Bob Saget Posted: 17 Jan 2022 09:36 AM PST Remembering a legend. Following the death of comedian Bob Saget at age 65, many of his former costars and friends paid tribute and shared their condolences. "Just heard the news. Devastated. I'm going to miss you, my friend," Tom Bergeron tweeted on Sunday, January 9, sharing a clip of the pair discussing their careers. "For my very last @AFVofficial, I asked my friend for a special favor. He said yes. I'm forever grateful." Both Bergeron, 66, and Saget had previously hosted America's Funniest Home Videos in their careers. "We are saddened to hear about the passing of the great @bobsaget. Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this time," the official AFV Twitter page wrote on Sunday. Shortly after, other stars opened up about Saget's warm heart and their history with the late comic. "He had the biggest heart and wore it on his sleeve. He was so generous with his feelings. A mensch," Andy Cohen tweeted on Sunday after learning the news. Tom Green, another comic, tweeted: "I am extremely saddened to just hear of the passing of my friend Bob Saget. You were always hilarious and kind. You made my life and so many other people’s lives better Bob. Rest In Peace." Several of Saget's former costars also reacted to the news via social media. “Oh god. Bob Saget!!! The loveliest man. I was his TV daughter for one season and he was always so kind and protective. So so sorry for his family," Kat Dennings, who acted opposite the star in 2001's Raising Dad sitcom, tweeted on Sunday night. In the one-season comedy, the Pennsylvania native played widowed father Matt Stewart who was working to raise his two daughters (Dennings and Brie Larson, respectively) with the help of his live-in father, played by Jerry Adler. "I went, ‘Oh, man. I don’t know,'” Saget told Deseret News in September 2001 about taking on another single father role after the finale of Full House. “But then I read it, and I really liked it a lot. And even though it was stuff that I invested in before, I wanted to do it. “I’m not going to be doing Danny Tanner. He's not needy. He doesn’t hug people a lot. He listens to brand-new music. He’s edgy.” Saget, who was best known for his role of Danny Tanner on Full House and its Fuller House revival, was found dead at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday. He had been in Florida to perform at a comedy showcase on Saturday, January 8. Orange County Sheriff's Office confirmed his death via Twitter. Stars Who Tested Positive for COVID-19 in 2022: Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon and More Posted: 17 Jan 2022 09:34 AM PST The pandemic isn’t over. Just as it did in 2020 and 2021, Hollywood’s A-list continues to be affected by COVID-19 in 2022 — but they largely attribute their fast recoveries to vaccines. In January, Late Night With Seth Meyers only returned from holiday break for one show before suddenly having to go on hiatus amid the omicron variant’s prevalence. “The bad news is, I tested positive for COVID (thanks, 2022!) the good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!),” Seth Meyers wrote via Twitter on January 4. “We are canceling the rest of the shows this week, so tune in next Monday to see what cool location we will try and pass off as a studio!!!” Meyers’ fellow NBC late night host Jimmy Fallon revealed a day prior that he’d recently recovered from COVID-19. The Saturday Night Live alum made it clear that he tested negative before returning to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on January 3. “Hey guys, on the first day of our holiday break I tested positive for Covid,” he captioned a photo via Instagram of himself masked in a room marked “reserved for testing use.” The room was decorated with an iconic Diff’rent Strokes quote, which Fallon appreciated. He continued, “I was vaccinated and boostered which made me lucky enough to only have mild symptoms. Thank you to the doctors and nurses who work so hard around the clock to get everyone vaxxed. Thank you to NBC for taking the testing protocols so seriously and doing a great job – and also thanks for putting me in the ‘What 'chu talkin' about Willis?’ isolation room when they told me the news.” In the comments section, Fallon told a fan that he completely recovered, writing, “The positive came back on 12/18. Back at work today and feeling 100%!” The NBC hosts both advocated for vaccination. As of January, the CDC recommended a booster shot for people over age 16 five months after completing the primary series. Meyers and Fallon each had a booster before testing positive. Similarly, Whoopi Goldberg also had a breakthrough case amid the highly contagious variant’s spread. Her View cohost Joy Behar announced the news on January 3 and said the Sister Act star was expected to be fully recovered within a week. “Why am I here instead of Whoopi? Well, Whoopi, unfortunately, tested positive over the break, but she’ll be back probably next week,” Behar explained. “Since she’s vaxxed and boosted, her symptoms have been very, very, mild. But we’re being super cautious here at The View.” The daytime talk show opted to film remotely for the week in the midst of Goldberg’s positive test. “They say there’s no place like home for the holidays and that’s exactly where we are this year,” Behar said. “Happy New Year from all of our living rooms. As you can see, we’re back in boxes and doing the show remotely — hopefully for just a week. I’m praying that it’s just a week, but you never know because this omicron thing is all over the place.” See the stars who have tested positive for COVID-19 in 2022: ![]() The Hills alum, her husband, Tim Rosenman, and their 4-year-old son, Sonny, tested positive in January. “The nausea last weekend I guess was the first sign of it but we’ve all been fine otherwise,” she said via Instagram Stories on January 15. “A little congested and my taste is not at its sharpest, but we are ok. Just quarantining, cooking, and napping. I lost the fight, and tested positive yesterday. My win, by Gods grace Ace is negative. Health is wealth. Stay safe." The Dash Dolls alum went on to slam "ignorant folks" questioning her fears about infection. "Why am I worried about a 'cold'?" she added in a second tweet. Sara Evans’ Ex Jay Barker Arrested, Accused of Trying to Hit Her With Car Posted: 17 Jan 2022 08:23 AM PST ![]() Country singer Sara Evans' estranged husband, Harry “Jay” Barker, was arrested on Saturday, January 15, after an alleged domestic violence incident between the estranged couple, Us Weekly can confirm. According to an affidavit obtained by Nashville news outlet WIAT, Barker, 49, was charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly tried to hit Evans, 50, with his car. The alleged incident happened at 1:30 a.m. local time on Saturday after the "A Little Bit Stronger" singer left a party at a neighbor's home in the passenger seat of her friend’s car. Evans allegedly saw Barker "backing up his vehicle at a high rate of speed attempting to hit them but missed." While the former University of Alabama quarterback allegedly drove away, the musician called the police and he spoke to officers when he returned to the Nashville home. Barker was subsequently booked and placed on a 12-hour hold for domestic violence. He was released on a $10,000 bond on Saturday evening. His court date is set for March. Evans and Barker wed in 2008. According to reports, the twosome are separated, with the Dancing With the Stars alum reportedly filing for divorce in August 2021. ![]() After his release, the Jay Barker Show host broke his silence on Sunday, January 16, via his radio show's Instagram page. "I am humbled beyond words by the support I have received from friends, supporters, and so many in the Alabama family," Barker wrote. “We all confront challenges in life, and my family and I are facing one now. Unfortunately, headlines and quick-to-publish news stories do not adequately capture the full context and complex fabric of our lives. I love my family dearly, and at this difficult time, I respectfully ask for privacy for the sake of my family and especially for our kids.” Evans, for her part, has yet to publicly comment on her spouse's arrest or their split. She was previously married to Craig Schelske from 1993 to 2007. The exes, who share three daughters, were involved in a nasty back and forth after Evans alleged that he cheated and was emotionally abusive during their marriage. Jim Carrey's Dating History: From Renee Zellweger to Jenny McCarthy Posted: 17 Jan 2022 07:52 AM PST The rocky road to love. Jim Carrey's dating history is filled with high-profile celebrities, from Renée Zellweger to Jenny McCarthy. The Yes Man actor has been married twice: to Melissa Womer from 1987 to 1995 and to Lauren Holly from 1996 to 1997. Carrey shares daughter Jane, who competed on American Idol in 2012, with his first wife. After his second divorce, the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind star moved on with Zellweger, with whom he worked on 2000's Me, Myself and Irene. The duo were briefly engaged but never made it down the aisle. "She was special to me, very special. I think she's lovely," the Golden Globe winner said of his ex during a July 2020 interview on The Howard Stern Show. "I don't regret — I don't have those things. But I do appreciate the people that have come through my life for the good that they gave me … but I don't pine for anybody, it's not that kind of situation. It's just my way of saying, 'There was a very important thing there,' and to recognize that.” At the time, nearly two decades after he and the Bridget Jones's Diary actress called it quits, Carrey confessed that he considered her "the great love of [his] life." Zellweger, for her part, previously reflected on her "unexpected" connection with the Memoirs and Misinformation writer. "It was just a really natural thing to want to be around each other," she told Entertainment Weekly in June 2000. "And we didn't see each other for a few months after we finished the picture — or really speak even — and I just noticed his absence significantly. It just felt like, 'Wow, I really miss him.’" After splitting from the Judy star, Carrey sparked a long-term relationship with McCarthy in 2005 following her divorce from John Asher. The former View cohost and the director welcomed son Evan in 2002. The Truman Show alum and the Scream 3 actress were together for five years before Us Weekly confirmed their split in April 2010. "I’m so grateful for the years Jim and I shared together," McCarthy told Us in a statement at the time. "I will continue to be in his daughter’s life and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart." Shortly before their breakup, McCarthy opened up about why she and Carrey didn't feel pressured to get married. "We say ‘never,’ but I don’t know," she told Us in February 2010. "Maybe for tax purposes, someday, when we are old." Things between the former couple soon turned messy, as the Masked Singer personality claimed that her son felt abandoned by Carrey. "I’ve tried to ask [Jim] numerous times [to see Evan] because my son still asks," she said on The Howard Stern Show in June 2012. "I think that sometimes people need to take a real break from each other. … But I still love him. I think you can love people from a distance and respect him. But as a mother, you just hope when you have a relationship with someone, it has nothing to do with the child when you break up." At the time, the Bruce Almighty actor told Us in a statement that he still cared deeply about Evan, noting, "I will always do what I believe is in the best interest of Evan's well-being. It's unfortunate that Evan's privacy is not being considered. I love Evan very much and will miss him always." Prince Charles Dodges Question About Prince Andrew's Ongoing Lawsuit Posted: 17 Jan 2022 07:17 AM PST Distanced from the drama. Prince Charles kept quiet when asked about his brother Prince Andrew, who was recently stripped of his royal titles amid ongoing sexual assault allegations. The 73-year-old Prince of Wales stepped out in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on Friday, January 14, one day after Buckingham Palace confirmed they were taking action. When a reporter approached him about the latest development in his 61-year-old sibling’s lawsuit, Charles ignored the question and focused his attention on another conversation, according to footage from Sky News. Andrew stepped back from his royal duties “for the foreseeable future” in November 2019 after his alleged association with the late Jeffrey Epstein came to light. At the time, the Duke of York denied Virginia Giuffre‘s claims that she was forced to have sex with him three times between 1999 to 2002, telling BBC, “It just never happened.” News broke earlier this month that Andrew could potentially face trial by the end of 2022 as a judge dismissed his request to have his lawsuit thrown out. While Andrew’s attorneys argued Giuffre’s claims lacked credibility, Judge Lewis Kaplan disagreed. “Ms. Giuffre’s complaint is neither ‘unintelligible’ nor ‘vague’ nor ‘ambiguous,'” the judge’s ruling stated on Wednesday, January 12, per CNN. “It alleges discrete incidents of sexual abuse in particular circumstances at three identifiable locations. It identifies to whom it attributes that sexual abuse.” One day later, the palace announced that Queen Elizabeth II‘s son would lose his HRH titles after largely staying silent amid the scandal. “With The Queen’s approval and agreement, The Duke of York’s military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to The Queen,” the palace’s statement read. “The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen.” According to CNN, Andrew, who is ninth in the royal line of succession, has until July 14 to answer questions under oath about the case. If a settlement isn’t reached, the prince may face trial between September and December. ![]() In the wake of Giuffre’s initial allegations, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Andrew felt “incredibly nervous” about the potential outcome should he be taken to court. While few members of the royal family have addressed the controversy outright, a second source previously revealed that Andrew’s daughters — Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie — knew the claims against their father were serious. “The girls are leaning on each other and are being really supportive of their dad and also understand that this is something that is going to change how he is able to perform his duties moving forward,” the insider noted in December 2019. “They understand the forever consequences of it.” Andrew has attempted to lay low amid the frenzy, briefly emerging following the death of his father, Prince Philip, in April 2021. He mourned the “terrible loss” in his first public statement since announcing his step down. “My father said to me on the telephone a few months ago, ‘We’re all in the same boat and we must always remember that.’ … My father’s death has brought home to me, not just [my family’s] loss, but also the loss that everybody else has felt,” he told reporters ahead of the late duke’s funeral. “The tributes have been amazing. The messages that I’m getting are absolutely outstanding.” If you or anyone you know has been sexually abused, call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673). A trained staff member will provide confidential, judgment-free support as well as local resources to assist in healing, recovering and more. |
Watch: Bob Saget Tribute Airs on 'America's Funniest Home Videos' Posted: 16 Jan 2022 05:55 PM PST Gone but not forgotten. America’s Funniest Home Videos honored former host Bob Saget on Sunday, January 16, following his sudden death a week prior. Saget, 65, hosted the long-running ABC show for eight years, from 1990 until 1997, which overlapped with his time playing Danny Tanner on Full House. During the episode, which featured clips from his tenure on AFV, host Alfonso Ribeiro celebrated the comedian’s talents. "As you've heard, the world lost a legend last week, and AFV lost a family member," the Dancing With the Stars alum, 50, said. "Bob Saget is synonymous with AFV to this day, and this show wouldn't have been the same without his unique sense of humor. It's been my honor to continue carrying the torch Bob so brightly lit." ![]() In his honor, America’s Funniest Home Videos asked that fans consider donating to the Scleroderma Research Foundation. Saget vowed to raise awareness for scleroderma research after he lost his sister, Andrea, to a brain aneurysm in 1987. “For more than 30 years he was a champion of the scleroderma community, helping to raise awareness about this complex disease and millions of dollars to fund research for a cure,” the caption on AFV‘s YouTube video reads. “Bob was unparalleled in his generosity and dedication to the mission of the SRF and will be remembered for his deep compassion, uncommon kindness and huge heart.” One day after a stand-up performance at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Florida, Saget was found dead in his Orlando hotel room on January 9. While the cause of his death has not yet been confirmed, the Orange County Sheriff's Office tweeted that “detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.” After news of his death broke, the comedian was honored with tributes from his friends, costars and fans, including Ribiero himself. “I am deeply saddened by the passing of my friend and fellow [AFV] host @bobsaget today,” the Fresh Prince alum wrote on Instagram. “I had the pleasure of meeting him in the early 90s when the show started. He was amazing.” Ribiero also honored Saget’s influence on the iconic clip show, stating, “There's no AFV without Bob.” Saget is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and his daughters — Aubrey, 34, Lara, 32, and Jennifer, 29 — whom he shared with ex-wife Sherri Kramer. “My whole heart. Bob was my absolute everything,” the Eat, Travel, Rock blogger, 42, said in a statement to Us Weekly after Saget’s death. "I am so completely shattered and in disbelief. I am so deeply touched by the outpouring of love and tribute from our friends, family, his fans and his peers.” Rizzo and the rest of Saget’s family laid him to rest in a private funeral on Friday, January 14, sources told Us exclusively. On the morning of the service, Saget’s Full House costar and friend John Stamos wrote on Twitter that it was “the hardest day of my life.” He continued, “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.” |
Betty White's Final Interview Will Debut in Tribute Movie Posted: 16 Jan 2022 05:08 PM PST ![]() One more time. Betty White‘s final interview will air in theaters as part of the Betty White: A Celebration tribute movie. “Betty shot a tribute to her fans on Dec. 20, which will be in the film,” producer Steve Boettcher told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on Sunday, January 16. “It was her idea to do this. She said, ‘I want my fans to know this.’ We've been asked to share it. We've been asked to put it on social media. The only place we thought was right was putting it in the film and sharing it with her friends, family and fans who are going to be there.” The film, a one-night-only nationwide Fathom Events screening, was initially titled Betty White: 100 Years Young — A Birthday Celebration and intended to celebrate the Golden Girls star’s 100th birthday, which would’ve been Monday, January 17. However, her December 31 death has made it a tribute in memory of White. Now simply titled Betty White: A Celebration, the Monday night screening has been expanded to more than 1,500 theaters across the U.S. The legendary star died after a cerebrovascular accident, according to her death certificate, which can cause tissue damage as a result of losing blood flow to the brain. The document notes that she suffered a stroke several days before her death. Obviously, White’s passing made the filmmakers to completely reevaluate the Celebration documentary and even consider canceling it entirely. “The film was already done and distributed to theaters, and we pulled it back. The first thing we did was sit down and talk with our team and Betty's team — should we just cancel?” Boettcher added during his THR interview. “Betty's team pushed us on, like, ‘No, she would want this. Go forward. Go with this.’ So that was the big decision that had been made that weekend.” The producer, who interviewed White many times over the last 15 years of her life, described the icon’s final appearance onscreen as an emotional watch. “Betty loved getting glammed up, as she called it,” Boettcher recalled. “The dress, the hair, the look — she just loved that. It's probably about a minute or two long clip of just her looking directly in the camera as the graciously fun, warm Betty. Zoey 101's Alexa Nikolas Breaks Down in Tears After Jamie Lynn Spears Drama Posted: 16 Jan 2022 03:05 PM PST Processing her emotions. Days after Alexa Nikolas called out her former costar Jamie Lynn Spears over what was written about their feud, she is still emotional about what went down. "This is what lying and bullying continues to do to others. I've been crying over here while taking care of my daughter and myself," Nikolas, 29, captioned a black-and-white selfie via Instagram on Saturday, January 15. "I wanted to post this to show others that I know how it goes. One minute you are able to laugh it off and then the next moment you are crying endlessly about it. Especially as you keep getting triggered by more hurtful words revealed about you from the person who wounded you deeply as a child." ![]() She continued at the time: “You want to be tough. You want to be soft. You want to move on. You want to get over it. But then you are quickly reminded once again that you are human and you have feelings. Healing is never linear. Even though you pray for it to be nightly. It's hard. Really f—king hard. Reading more cruel lies tonight really broke me down. It's not fair. It's not just. I'm just here processing it all. Goodnight." Nikolas starred alongside Spears in Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 from 2005 to 2006, but she was written out of the kids’ comedy after the first two seasons. The actress is now a director and mother to daughter Nova, 14 months, who she shares with husband Michael Gray. The Criminal Minds alum also shared a screenshot of a text exchange between the two former Nickelodeon stars via her Instagram Story, in which the Mississippi native, 30 had previously attempted to reconcile. "First off, CONGRATS on your baby news — so happy for you," the All That alum allegedly wrote in a text message dated September 2020, per Nikolas' Story on Saturday. "I really wanted to reach out to you, because I do not want any bad energy between us, and I want to apologize for any part I may have played in anything that has hurt you in our past. I know we were both children the last time we spoke, and we weren't capable of handling any conflict or misunderstanding the way we should. Now that we are both adults, I'm hoping we will have the chance to move past any negatively that we had, and I would love for you to be apart of some things me and the cast of Zoey are doing." The actresses made headlines on Thursday, January 13, after Nikolas claimed what Spears had written about their set feud in her Things I Should Have Said memoir was inaccurate. "I was pretty surprised to see her lying up a storm in there," Nikolas wrote via Instagram on Thursday. "I recently thought we were fine after she tried to use me in her Zoey 101 music video to make herself look better after I finally came out about what happened to me while on set/being left out once again during the reunion reboot ploy. I'm guessing the pressure from others made her address the issue. I declined her offer. Why now? But I was happy to get an apology finally. So I forgave her." The Mad Men alum continued at the time: "She never addressed anything that she mentioned in the book to me personally because she knows everything she is saying is a total lie and I would have called her out on that. One on one. It's sad to see someone not change after all these years. Nothing that she said in her book about me actually happened." Passages from the Sweet Magnolias star's book leaked earlier this month, in which Spears alleged that she had tension with her former costar behind the scenes. Things I Should Have Said is set to hit shelves on Tuesday, January 18. |

Her rep, Howard “Howie” Wood, confirmed the news in a statement to Us Weekly. “I got the news last night after returning from a business trip and all I can say is that this is an incredibly sad day,” Wood said on Sunday, January 16. “The last time I spoke with Jordan, she sounded happy and healthy. I wish people had the opportunity to know her away from her struggles as she was a very sweet and kind hearted person. I’m grateful I had the chance to know and work with her all these years. Life was not always good to her and I hope now she is in a better place. RIP sweet girl.” The 16 & Pregnant star’s father, Dennis M. Cashmyer Jr., announced the news on social media Sunday morning. “Last night I received a call no parent ever wants,” Dennis shared via Facebook alongside a black and white photo of the MTV alum. “My oldest beloved daughter, Jordan has passed away, she was only 26 years old. Our hearts are truly broken. No parent should ever have to go through losing a child, EVER.” ![]() He continued, “Please keep my family in your thoughts prayers as we navigate through this terrible tragedy. Please understand and respect our privacy at this time. We are surrounded by the love and support of our children, grand daughter Lyla and family members. Jordan was introduced to 16 & Pregnant viewers in a 2014 episode in which she gave birth to daughter Genevieve, now 7. She signed custody rights to in 2015 to boyfriend Derek Taylor‘s mother, Deadline reports. The reality TV alum gave birth to her second daughter, Lyla, in June 2021. Dennis made the official announcement on Facebook on Father's Day. "We just received wonderful news!! She's Here! So happy today!" Dennis wrote on June 20. He shared photos of the newborn the next day, writing, “I got to see my beautiful granddaughter today. I am so happy! She's healthy and beautiful.” Jordan struggled prior to Lyla’s birth. The 16 & Pregnant episode showed Jordan and her boyfriend struggling with homelessness in Baltimore in early 2014. She was hospitalized for a suicide attempt in November 2014 and checked into rehab in 2016. After that round of rehab, she wrote a since-deleted Tumblr post that detailed her struggles, which included turning to drugs to numb her pain. "I suffered from very bad post-partum depression. While trying to get this issue under control, I started working at a [strip] club, a place that would completely alter my life in ways I never thought," she wrote at the time via Ashley’s Reality Roundup. "For the past two years I have struggled with addiction…I practically used my body as a trashcan and would put whatever was given to me in my body." Jordan was arrested for drug possession multiple times, last pleading guilty to drug possession in November 2019. However, the young mom was said to be committed to sobriety, celebrating her one-year sobriety anniversary in January 2021, six months before giving birth to her second daughter. |
Fresh Start! Why Julia Fox Credits Kanye West for ‘Transformation’ Posted: 16 Jan 2022 01:19 PM PST ![]() Something new. Julia Fox has seen a change in herself after her recent dates with Kanye West — and she's excited about the journey. "My transformation [was the wildest thing he created for me]. After meeting him, a couple days later, all my s—t was in boxes, gone. It was so cathartic," Fox, 31, told Interview in an interview published on Saturday, January 15. "It wasn't like I was just packing up my old clothes, it was like I was packing up my old life. I was like making that very conscious decision to really put everything in the box. To let go of the past." The Uncut Gems actress told the magazine that she was "really surrendering" to this process. "For someone like me who's such a control freak and always so used to taking care of myself, to just let go and be taken care of is foreign at this point in life," Fox explained. "I've been the primary caretaker of everyone for so long, so it's a new sensation, but honestly, I think I deserve it. Even a month ago, I was so f—king like not getting along with my son's father [ex-husband Peter Artemiev], or not having help. It was just me alone. I was so tired and everything was work. … And then a few days later there I am with Ye, and it was the most instant natural organic attraction and connection. I just feel really safe with him. It's a redemption story." The Italy native went on to gush about their evolving relationship and becoming his "muse." "You know, I'm so used to being f—ked over in relationships, so I keep waiting for him to disappoint me because he makes very grandiose promises, and it's like, 'How could he ever pull it off with all the other things he has going on?' But he always does," Fox told the outlet. "Right now, the vibes I'm getting are very much about tolerance, kindness, and love. I'm canceling cancel culture and putting an end to this black-and-white thinking. People shouldn't be defined by their darkest moment. As humans, we commit violence to each other, we police each other. We've created such a hostile environment, especially on the internet." The actress explained that she and the Yeezy designer, 44, often talk about "ideas" when they are alone, gushing, "That's what's so exciting about being in the vicinity of someone who's operating at the level that he is. These seemingly crazy ideas, he can make them come to life.” Fox and the Illinois native's relationship status first made headlines earlier this month after they were spotted on a series of dinner and Broadway dates. At the time, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the duo were "having fun" on the "casual" outing, noting that the "Heartless" rapper "wanted to get to know her better" after connecting through mutual friends. The No Sudden Move actress, for her part, has since praised their budding romance and even fervently denied it was set up as a PR stunt amid his divorce from Kim Kardashian. (The Skims mogul, 41, previously filed in February 2021.) "I feel like, to the people who know us both personally, like, all the people that we have in common, like, friends in common, have texted me like, 'Oh, my God, this makes so much sense,’" Fox explained on the Thursday, January 14, episode of her "Forbidden Fruits" podcast. "There's always people that think every single celebrity scandal is a setup. I personally don't. Listen, for right now, I'm just living in the moment and I don't have any expectations — there's no labels, none of that. It's just people that make each other feel better." |

Britney Spears' Ups and Downs With Sister Jamie Lynn Through the Years Posted: 16 Jan 2022 12:15 PM PST A dramatic relationship. Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn Spears have had a bumpy ride through the years — and haven’t always kept that drama under wraps. In June 2021, the pop star spoke out in court for the first time since being put under a conservatorship in 2008. During the explosive hearing, she explained why she should be able to choose her own attorney, adding that she wanted to take legal action against her family. “I just want my life back. It's been 13 years, and it's enough. It's been a long time since I've owned my money,” the “Lucky” singer said at the time. “I would honestly like to sue my family, to be totally honest with you. I also would like to be able to share my story with the world, and what they did to me, instead of it being a hush-hush secret to benefit all of them.” Following the case, the Sweet Magnolias star responded to fans via Instagram who claimed she wasn’t publicly supporting the #FreeBritney movement because she hadn’t posted on social media. "Maybe I didn't support her the way the public would like me to with a hashtag on a public platform, but I can assure you I've supported my sister long before there was a hashtag. And I'll support her long after. Note that,” the actress shared. “I'm so proud of her for using her voice. I'm so proud of her for requesting new counsel like I told her to do many years ago. If ending the conservatorship or flying to Mars or whatever else she wants to do [will make her happy] — I support that, 100 percent. Because I support my sister. I love my sister. Always have, always will. As long as she's happy. Let's keep praying. That's all.” In July, the Grammy winner was granted the right to choose her own legal representative, appointing former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart in charge. At the time, she also accused her father, Jamie Spears, of “conservatorship abuse,” adding, "If this isn't abuse, I don't know what is. … I thought they were trying to kill me." Amid the hearings, Britney and her sister both shared their thoughts via social media. Scroll through the gallery below for a full timeline of the sisters’ drama: ![]() Following a report that claimed that Jamie Lynn is the only member of the Spears family not on Britney's payroll, the Zoey 101 alum responded via her Instagram Story. "Facts….now leave my broke-ass alone,” she wrote on July 6. Shutterstock (2) ![]() On July 16, Britney shared a quote via her Instagram that read, “Never forget who ignored you when you needed them and who helped you before you even had to ask.” In a lengthy caption, she explained what she is going through. "There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support … there’s nothing worse than that," the Crossroads star wrote. "How dare the people you love the most say anything at all. ... If you’re reading this and you know who you are … and you actually have the nerve to say anything about my situation just to save face for yourself publicly !!! If you’re gonna post something …. Please stop with the righteous approach when you’re so far from righteous it’s not even funny." Mediapunch/Shutterstock ![]() The "Toxic" singer shared a second quote the following day that read, “Take me as I am or kiss my ass, eat s–t and step on LEGOs.” After slamming those who make fun of her dancing videos, Britney called out both her father and sister. "I'm not gonna be performing on any stages anytime soon with my dad handling what I wear, say, do, or think I've done that for the past 13 years," she wrote. "I don't like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes!!!!! My so-called support system hurt me deeply." Shutterstock (2) ![]() Jamie Lynn returned to Instagram on July 18, sharing a selfie of herself in the mirror. "May the peace of the Lord be with you, and your spirit," her caption read at first. She later changed the caption to a peace sign emoji and a heart emoji. Courtesy of Jamie Lynn Spears/Instagram ![]() Shortly after Jamie Lynn's post, Britney posted a new dance video. "May the Lord wrap your mean ass up in joy today," she wrote, seemingly mocking her sister's original caption. "New dance … if you don’t like it ... don’t watch it!!!!!" MEGA ![]() Britney only follows 46 Instagram accounts. While Paris Hilton, Paul McCartney and Beyonce made the cut — Jamie Lynn was notably absent. However, the younger sister still follows the pop star. Shutterstock (2) ![]() Jamie Lynn opened up about her relationship with her older sister during a January 2022 interview with Good Morning America — and Britney was quick to turn the tables. Though the Netflix star claimed that she attempted to provide resources for her older sister to put an end to her conservatorship, Britney argued via Twitter that Jamie Lynn was "never around me much 15 years ago at that time." As the family drama made headlines, Jamie Lynn defended herself in a lengthy social media statement. "I can't help that I was born a Spears too, and that some of my experiences involve my sister. I've worked hard since before I was even a teenager, and I've built my career in spite of just being someone's little sister," she wrote. "There are no sides, and I don't want drama. But I'm speaking my truth to heal my traumas, so I can close this chapter and move forward, and I wish my sister could do the same." She concluded: "No matter what comes, I will always love my big sister and be here for her. It's time to put an end to the unhealthy chaos that has controlled my life for so long." Shutterstock (2) ![]() Jamie Lynn responded to Britney in her Instagram story after the "Bombastic Love" singer walked back a few comments but still maintained that Jamie Lynn was lying. “Britney — Just call me, I have attempted many times to speak to you directly and handle this privately like sisters should, but you still choose to do everything on a public platform,” the former Nickelodeon star shared via her Instagram Story in January 2022. Jamie Lynn continued, writing, “In the meantime, please stop continuing the narrative that I haven’t been there for you or that I’m making things up. I’m happy to share how many times I’ve reached out to you, supported you and tried to help you. This is embarrassing and has to stop. Love you.” Courtesy of Jamie Lynn Spears/Instagram ![]() After Britney implied that her sister was "scum," the Grammy winner walked back some of her jabs. "I said some harsh things because you obviously hurt me by the things you are making up about me,” she wrote via Twitter in January 2022. “All I know is I love you unconditionally!!! So go ahead and say whatever you want … it’s so tacky for a family to fight publicly like this!!! You say you love me … yet your loyalty is still with the people that hurt me most!!!” the engaged singer added. Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock |
Teen Mom's Farrah Abraham Arrested After Allegedly Slapping Security Guard Posted: 16 Jan 2022 11:53 AM PST ![]() Legal trouble. Teen Mom‘s Farrah Abraham has been arrested after allegedly slapping a security guard, Us Weekly can confirm. The 16 & Pregnant alum, 30, was taken into custody on Saturday, January 15, after she allegedly assaulted a security official outside Hollywood's Grandmaster Records club, where she and a friend were partying. While police officers were not initially called to the scene, a bystander made a citizen's arrest and EMTs were called, TMZ reported. EMTs called LAPD for assistance and Abraham was taken into custody, issued her a citation for the misdemeanor and released. No charges have been filed. Abraham is due to appear in court on May 19. Abraham, for her part, has since spoken out about the arrest, writing via Instagram Story on Sunday, January 16, "I will never understand sexism & sexist hatred. To all the men who wish me wrong I give it to the 1 who created us all. I CARE FOR MEN & WOMAN EVERY DAY EQUALLY." ![]() In a separate slide on Sunday, she included footage recorded during her arrest, depicting her lying on the ground with her hands behind her back. She captioned it, "Never again." She continued: "Why is a male on top of me holding me down when I was walking. This is scary and he should be fired and in jail for [battery]. I'm tired of people harassing me, holding me down, hurting me and [lying] about me … it's scary, it [affects] mothers, it is traumatizing and I'm hurt." Abraham further alleged in her Story that she had made a reservation for dinner at the venue, and after the incident, she claimed to have been injured amid the altercation. "Bruised and beaten at dinner," the Nebraska native claimed, alongside a snap of a pair of bruises on her skin. "Stop attacking and hurting woman." Minutes later, the My Teenage Dream Ended author opened up about her decision to share details from her arrest. "I post this as no woman or man should ever be battered, abused, conspired, ganged up on, set up, recorded, and video sold," she claimed via an Instagram statement on Sunday. Abraham alleged that she is “putting a restraining order” on the man who “made this dinner reservation and conspired an attack on myself with the staff at @grandmaster_recorders as it was a 'private persons arrest' complete setup." Continuing, she added, "I've had a very traumatizing year and I don't deserve to be attacked, bruised, men on me, and battered. As a single mother to be harassed, battered, and conspired against as a paying customer. … I thank the HOLLYWOOD police for rescuing myself from being held against my will and being attacked, I NEEDED HELP. I couldn't even use my phone." The Teen Mom: Family Reunion star, who is mother to daughter Sophia, 12, added in her post: "I'm blessed to go to church today. I realize it's no longer safe for woman to go out to eat in their own neighborhoods. I look forward to my law degree and I look forward to court. Justice will be served as always. [Women] it is a scary unsafe world we live in, act upon your rights and always care for others even when everyone hurts you and attacks you. You are resilient and you are stronger [than] all of the weak people out there who hurt and traumatize us." Abraham was previously arrested for battery in June 2018 after an alleged fight with a hotel employee. "At this time, we thank everyone for Farrah's concern and will assure that when she is released Farrah will release a statement on her behalf," a statement from her rep read at the time. "Farrah will return and continue to focus on her businesses and her daughter, [who] is her No. 1 priority. Please remember there are two sides to every story!" |
Kanye West: Travis Scott, Kylie Jenner Gave Me Address for Chicago's Party Posted: 16 Jan 2022 09:38 AM PST ![]() He made it! After previous claims that estranged wife Kim Kardashian had not invited Kanye West to their daughter Chicago's doll-themed birthday party, he ended up making a surprise appearance thanks to Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner's assistance. "Yo, I'm so happy right now," the Yeezy designer, 44, said in a Saturday, January 15, Instagram video, per Hollywood Unlocked. "I just came from Chi's party and I just gotta shout out to Travis Scott for sending me the address and the time and making sure that I was able to spend that birthday memory with my daughter to be there with the rest of the family." West, while smiling in his car, continued in his video message: "I just saw everybody. It was, you know, Kris [Jenner] and Corey [Gamble, Kris' boyfriend] and Kylie. Kylie let me in right when I got to the spot because the security, you know, stopped me, once again when I got there. It's just a matter of just having a conversation, open dialogue and it was just, everyone just had a great time. I'm just really happy that I could be there for my children. I just want to thank everybody's support in this situation [and] let me just calmly and legally take control of my narrative." The Illinois native went on to note that his children — North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2, whom he shares with Kardashian, 41 — were his "main focus." West previously made headlines hours earlier after claiming that the Skims mogul had not invited him to Chicago's 4th birthday party nor let him know its location. "Y'all, I was just wishing my daughter a public happy birthday. I wasn't allowed to know where her party was, there's nothing legal that's saying that this is the kind of game that's being played," he alleged during an earlier Instagram Live from his car. "It's the kind of thing that really has affected my health for the longest and I'm just not playing. I'm taking control of my narrative this year. … I did call Kim, texted nannies. I got on the phone with Tristan [Thompson, Khloé Kardashian's ex], he asked Khloé [and] won't nobody give me the address to my daughter's birthday party right now. That's gonna imprint in her mind that I wasn't there for her." The Selfish author — who previously filed for divorce from West in February 2021 — was caught off guard by his recent claims. "There were always two parties planned for Chicago, which was Kanye's idea. He was scheduled to celebrate with her at 4pm today," a source exclusively told Us Weekly on Saturday. "Kim was shocked to learn that he released a video about not being invited to her party — that's not true and as soon as he asked to come he was given the location." West eventually made it to the party after eagle-eyed fans noticed that Atiana De La Hoya — Travis Barker's stepdaughter — shared Instagram Story footage from the Barbie and L.O.L. Surprise!-themed celebrations, in which the rapper appeared to be chatting with the Safely founder, 66, in front of a pink inflatable trampoline. |
Prince Harry Applies for Judicial Review to Pay for Security During UK Visits Posted: 16 Jan 2022 08:41 AM PST ![]() Taking legal action. Prince Harry applied for a judicial review regarding a previous Home Office decision, in which he is unable to personally fund police protection for his family while in England. "Prince Harry inherited a security risk at birth, for life. He remains sixth in line to the throne, served two tours of combat duty in Afghanistan, and in recent years his family has been subjected to well-documented neo-Nazi and extremist threats,” the 37-year-old Duke of Sussex's legal spokesperson said in a Saturday, January 15, statement. "While his role within the Institution has changed, his profile as a member of the royal family has not. Nor has the threat to him and his family." Harry and Meghan Markle — whom he wed in May 2018 — previously announced in January 2020 that they were stepping down as senior members of the British royal family. Upon their decision, the couple and their son Archie, now 2, relocated to Montecito, California, where they later welcomed daughter Lilibet in June 2021. "Harry doesn't have any regrets about leaving the royal family whatsoever and is really happy in Montecito," an insider told Us Weekly exclusively in January 2021. "He and Meghan are enjoying their new life in California — being a normal family and having the freedom to make their own decisions without anyone watching over them." After their California move, the BetterUp CIO personally funded a private security team for himself, the former Tig founder, 40, and their two children. "That security cannot replicate the necessary police protection needed whilst in the UK," the statement added. "In absence of such protection, Prince Harry and his family are unable to return home." After the military veteran and the Suits alum stepped down from their royal roles, Harry offered to personally pay for U.K. police protection in January 2020, which was dismissed, according to the Saturday statement. ![]() "He remains willing to cover the cost of security, as not to impose on the British taxpayer. As is widely known, others who have left public office and have an inherent threat risk receive police protection at no cost to them,” the lengthy note read. “The goal for Prince Harry has been simple — to ensure the safety of himself and his family while in the UK so his children can know his country." The statement alleged that during Harry's last trip across the pond in July 2021 — to unveil a statue of his late mother, Princess Diana, outside Kensington Palace — his security was compromised since he did not have police escorts. The statement — which the British royals have yet to address — further noted that Harry's attempts at negotiations have also been rejected before he first sought a judicial review in September 2021 to challenge the decision "in the hopes that this could be reevaluated for the obvious and necessary protection required." "The UK will always be Prince Harry's home and country he wants his wife and children to be safe in," the statement concluded. "With the lack of police protection, comes too great a personal risk. Prince Harry hopes that his petition — after close to two years of pleas for security in the UK — will resolve this situation." |
