Xavier Woods Injured, Will Miss The Royal Rumble

New Day's Xavier Woods has suffered an injury. Unfortunately, this means he will likely miss the Royal Rumble scheduled for January 29th in St. Louis. The injury could even keep Woods out of action long enough to miss the Elimination Chamber PPV which reportedly will take place in February from Saudi Arabia.

The injury occurred on Smackdown while Woods and partner Kofi Kingston faced the Usos with the Smackdown Tag Team Championships on the line. Scroll down to reveal the nature of Woods' injury and how long he is expected to be out for.

Xavier Woods Injured In Match On Smackdown

Woods was on the G4 program Attack of the Show when he mentioned his injury. According to Woods, during the match against the Usos, he tore his Plantaris muscle under his calf.

The injury comes at a poor time for Woods, who achieved his dream of winning the King of the Ring tournament recently. He's even had his own crown commissioned and Kofi Kingston acts as the Hand of the King.

How Much Time Will Xavier Woods Miss?

Fortunately for King Woods, he is not expected to miss much time. His current timetable for return is only 4-6 weeks. He just needs time for the muscle to repair. Woods could very likely return to the ring in time for the Elimination Chamber but he will almost assuredly miss the Royal Rumble.

During a recent interview with Metro UK, Woods pointed out that all 3 members of New Day would like to turn heel.

"It's just super fun to scream at little kids, 'cause when we were heels before, our stuff would see kids getting legitimately mad and upset at us. It's just so much fun to be snarky, to be rude and disliked. Honestly, we have [wanted that] the entire time, we've always wanted to turn heel. It's just so much fun," Woods said.

Kofi Kingston On New Day Potentially Turning Heel

Former WWE Champion and New Day member Kofi Kingston has also commented on the team possibly turning heel. According to Kingston, however, it's not something Vince McMahon is likely to approve of.

"'No, he's not gonna let us do it!" Kofi said of Vince McMahon allowing them to turn heel. "So, it's a fantasy but I dunno… I don't think it'll ever happen again, unfortunately."

Still, Kofi says the whole team would love another heel run.

"To be honest, we fantasise about it all the time. I tell people that I had the most fun in my career when I was yelling at children, and threatening to ground children, and threatening children," Kofi said.

As it usually happens, the playoffs will feature nothing but the creme of the crop when it comes to gunslingers.

Then again, there are levels to everything, even greatness. That's why here, we're going to rank the five best QBs looking to lead their teams to the Super Bowl.

5. Joe Burrow

It took him a season and a half but Joe Burrow has already passed veterans like Matthew Stafford and Dak Prescott, at least when it comes to this season.

Burrow didn't miss a beat despite coming from a campaign-ending injury, entering the MVP conversation towards the end of the year.

Throughout the season, the LSU product proved why he was considered one of the best QB prospects of the decade. throwing for 4,611 yards with 34 touchdowns against 14 interceptions despite missing one game.

Burrow completed 70.4% of his passes and added 40 rushes for 118 yards and 2 scores. He's the real deal.

4. Josh Allen

While he failed to live up to the hype as the leading candidate for MVP, Josh Allen still had quite the remarkable season.

Allen kept the Buffalo Bills' offense afloat despite their non-existing running game, proving again to have the strongest arm in the league, and that he's also a huge threat with his feet.

Per the year, Allen threw for 4,407 yards. 36 touchdowns, and 15 picks.

He also rushed the ball 122 times for 763 yards and 6 rushing touchdowns.

3. Patrick Mahomes

Remember when people said the league had figured Patrick Mahomes out? Well, those were the days, huh?

Mahomes got off to a slow start of the year before he started doing Patrick Mahomes things again.

The Kansas City Chiefs once again have the league's most explosive offense and it's mostly because of the biggest dual-threat in the league.

Pat had a "down" year, throwing for 4,839 yards with 37 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He also rushed 66 times for 381 yards and 2 touchdowns.

2. Tom Brady

The year is 2050, Patrick Mahomes Jr. just entered the league, and Tom Brady continues to be one of the best players in the world.

This guy continues to age like a fine wine and just posted one of the best seasons of his career. Yes, two decades later.

Brady led the league in yards per game (312.7), passing yards (5,316), pass attempts and completions (485 and 719), and touchdowns (43).

He completed 67.5% of his passes and the reigning champions are a big favorite to be back at the big stage.

Not too shabby for a 44 year old.

1. Aaron Rodgers

A controversial bout with COVID-19 and a toe injury limited Aaron Rodgers this season, and he was a complete no-show in Week 1.

Only the reigning MVP could afford to do that and still be considered the best quarterback in the playoffs right now.

Rodgers continues to turn back the clock and leave the league in awe with his unmatched efficiency.

This season, he threw for 4,115 yards, 37 touchdowns, and an absurd 4 interceptions. He's the most talented thrower we've ever seen and is playing like a man on a mission right now.

NBA Insider Reveals Main Reason Behind James Wiseman's Delayed Return

The Golden State Warriors faced a huge dilemma last season when James Wiseman went down with an injury. During their game against the Houston Rockets, the former No. 2 pick suffered a meniscus injury in his right knee that kept him on the sideline for the remainder of the 2020-21 NBA season. Since then, Warriors fans have been patiently waiting for Wiseman's return to the court.

When they recalled him and Klay Thompson from their NBA G-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, it created optimism that it's only a matter of time before Wiseman plays in the 2021-22 NBA season.

James Wiseman Injury Update

Unfortunately, while Thompson has already made his season debut after two years, Wiseman remains on the sideline. In a recent article, Anthony Slater of The Athletic gave a major update on Wiseman's injury. Slater revealed that the young big man underwent another surgery in mid-December that delayed his highly-anticipated return.

"Because of some minor-yet-persistent swelling, Wiseman needed a scope and cleanup in mid-December, flushing out some loose bodies, sources confirm, which slowed his anticipated comeback," Slater wrote, as quoted by CBS Sports.

James Wiseman's Recovery Going To Right Direction

Though it wasn't disclosed when Wiseman will return to the court, his recovery is reportedly going in the right direction. As Slater noted, the former Memphis Tigers is "building toward full-contact activity." He's joining the Warriors in their road trips and has been going individual work.

Also, Slater said that what Wiseman experienced isn't an "uncommon setback" for a player who's returning from a meniscus injury. In 2013, Los Angeles Lakers point guard Russell Westbrook also dealt with the same injury that kept him out longer than expected.

Coach Steve Kerr On James Wiseman's Injury

After undergoing another surgery in mid-December, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said that the expectation for Wiseman is to gain clearance for three-on-three and then five-on-five action.

"His rehab is going really well," Kerr said, via Paul Kasabian of Bleacher Report. "His knee is feeling good. His spirits are up, he's bouncing around practice—high energy. He's getting ready to play with some contact. It's exciting just to see a smile on his face and to see him back after this long of an absence."

Impact Of James Wiseman's Return To Warriors

Wiseman's recovery would be vital for the Warriors, especially now that they are seriously aiming to win to fully dominate the Western Conference and win the NBA championship title this season. His return to the court would give the Warriors another reinforcement in their frontcourt.

Wiseman may still need experience, but he can contribute to the Warriors in terms of scoring, rebounding, and protecting the rim. The former Disney starlet always had a refreshing candor about them but used to feel it conflicted with the image they should project as a pop artist. In an interview with The New York Times, they recalled admitting to a reporter when they were 16 that they were fascinated with heavy metal music. Later, they got worried that they would get flak for it.

"I remember feeling like I know that I'm a role model and I'm not supposed to like this dark metal music, but I do," they said.

Pop Star Formula

Several albums later, Lovato felt more than ever the need to fit the mold.

"So I dove into, all right, what is the formula for a pop star that's top of the charts?" they said. "She shows her skin, she's a lot fitter, and you know, she wears leotards onstage. So I played that role for a minute. And that didn't fulfill me at all."

After being exposed for their drug use and assaulting a dancer when they were 18, the singer/actress decided to be more transparent about their life.

"I could be honest with the world at 18," they said. "I could tell the world my dirty, dark secrets. I didn't care. Because if I told you my secrets, you had nothing on me."

Around 2017, they became more open about their queerness. And although that didn't stop them from getting into a straight relationship in 2020, and even getting engaged, they later realized that they "wouldn't have been living my truth for the rest of my life had I confined myself into that box of heteronormativity and monogamy," they said. As a result, they called off the engagement.

Finally Honest

The nonbinary icon credits singer Billie Eilish for making it easier for them to embrace a more anti-pop star stance.

"I think it was when Billie started wearing the baggy clothes, that was the first time I was like, I don't have to be the super-sexy sexualized pop star," they said. "And it also never felt that comfortable to me. Like it's not the most natural thing to me to go onstage in a leotard."

The 2022 NBA All-Star is still a month away, but fans are already starting to have a clear picture regarding who will be leading the Eastern and Western Conference. The NBA started giving an update on the 2022 NBA All-Star voting in the first week of January. For the first fan returns, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James, Brooklyn Nets small forward Kevin Durant, and Chicago Bulls shooting guard DeMar DeRozan have led their respective position groups for both conferences.

Second Fan Returns Of 2022 NBA All-Star Voting

On Twitter, the NBA Communications released the second fan return for the 2022 NBA All-Star voting. The names on the top of respective position groups for the Eastern Conference and Western Conference remain the same, but three of them have already reached at least four million votes. These include Curry, James, and Durant.

Curry is still the top vote-getter with 4,463,426 votes. James got the second spot with 4,386,392 votes, while Durant has the third most number of votes with 4,088,334.

LeBron James Challenging Stephen Curry As West Captain

While he beat Durant as the No. 2 vote-getter for the ongoing 2022 NBA All-Star voting, James is still not the captain of the Western Conference. However, compared to the first fan returns, James is already inching closer to Curry. As of now, only 77, 034 votes are separating James and Curry.

It's not a surprise that James is starting to get more appreciation from fans. So far, he continues to establish MVP caliber performance, averaging 29.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 1.7 steals while shooting 52.4 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from the three-point range, per ESPN.

Can Giannis Antetokounmpo Catch Up With Kevin Durant?

While it's not as close as the Western Conference, the battle for the Eastern Conference captainship is also getting more intense. While James is looking to reclaim his title from Curry, Milwaukee Bucks power forward and former two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is eyeing to dethrone Durant as the Eastern Conference captain. Based on the second fan return for the 2022 NBA All-Star voting, Antetokounmpo is only behind Durant by 279,876 votes.

Following Antetokounmpo are DeRozan, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young, and Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine.

Two New Names In East Top 10

While Curry, Durant, James, and Antetokounmpo are competing for captainship in the Eastern and Western Conference, other players are fighting to retain their respective spots for the All-Star game. So far, the players in the top 10 of the Western Conference's frontcourt and backcourt remain the same. However, there are two new players that emerged in the Eastern Conference's top 10, according to Kyle Irving of NBA.com.

"In the Eastern Conference, there were only two new names that popped up in the top 10," Irving wrote. "In the frontcourt, Toronto Raptors forward and one-time All-Star Pascal Siakam entered the conversation, receiving 244,042 votes to rank eighth in the East. In the backcourt, Boston Celtics guard and one-time All-Star Jaylen Brown entered the top 10, receiving 217,463 votes to rank 10th in the East."

There were high expectations from former Oregon Ducks center Bol Bol before he entered the NBA in 2019. When he declared for the 2019 NBA Draft, the Sudanese big man was projected to be selected third overall pick behind Duke products Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett, who was drafted first and third, respectively.

However, during draft night, Bol didn't only fall out of the lottery, but he was just selected in the second round by the Denver Nuggets. Bol is yet to create his own name in the league, but he has been recently involved in a controversy.

Voided Pistons-Nuggets Trade Centered On Bol Bol

A few days ago, Bol's stint with the Nuggets was supposed to come to an end. On Twitter, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that the Nuggets were finalizing a deal that would send Bol to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Rodger McGruder and a future second-round pick.

However, four days after he made the report, Wojnarowski revealed that the Pistons-Nuggets trade centered on Bol has been voided. According to Wojnarowski, the Pistons decided not to push through with the trade after the young big man failed their physical tests.

Nuggets Bid Farewell To Bol Bol Before Deal Was Voided

The Pistons' decision to void the trade made things extremely awkward between Bol and the Nuggets. Before the deal has been canceled, the Nuggets already officially announced Bol's departure from Denver in their official Twitter account. The Nuggets thanked Bol for his contribution for the past three years and wished him good luck on his new journey with the Pistons.

The Pistons' decision was a surprise for Bol and the Nuggets as the young big man isn't dealing with an injury. Throughout his basketball career, Bol only had one major injury when he fractured his left foot during his freshman year at Oregon, according to Yahoo Sports.

Donatas Motiejunas Accused Pistons Of Destroying Young Players Future

After learning about the voided Pistons-Nuggets trade, former NBA player Donatas Motiejunas couldn't help himself but speak. Motiejunas had the same experience with the Pistons in 2016 when they voided a trade with the Houston Rockets. On Twitter, the veteran big man called out the NBPA and accused the Pistons of "destroying young players."

"I was failed on physicals and told by Detroit doctors I will not play basketball again," Motiejunas tweeted. "6 years laters I am still here and have many years to go. They destroying young players names and futures in NBA by doing this."

Pistons Would Have Been A Great Landing Spot For Bol Bol

As of now, the Pistons are yet to give a response on Motiejunas' accusations. However, despite the controversy surrounding the deal, most people would agree that the Pistons would be a great trade destination for Bol. Police Made 'Unintentional Mistakes' In Gabby Petito Vehicle Stop

A probe into the Utah Police Department's conduct during a vehicle stop of Brian Laundrie and Gabby Petito has found that the force made 'unintentional mistakes', AP reports.

The results of the independent report were released on Wednesday, and details the interaction between Laundrie, Petito and Moab police officers who were responding to a fight between the couple.

Gabby Petito was found dead after weeks of a massive missing person search. Laundrie, Petito's boyfriend, later killed himself following suspicions that he was the culprit.

The footage on the officer's body cameras has made some question whether a different outcome could have been achieved if officers did not allow the couple to leave as long as they did not see each other for a day.

The Moab Vehicle Stop: What The Report Says

The newly revealed report highlights officers neglecting to acquire a statement from a 911 caller who had made a report of witnessing a man slap a woman outside of their van.

According to the report, officers also did not issue a citation for domestic violence once Petito had shared that she hit Laundrie. However the report shows evidence towards the fact that she was most likely the greater victim in their relationship.

"Would Gabby be alive today if this case was handled differently? That is an impossible question to answer despite it being the answer many people want to know," said Capt. Brandon Ratcliffe from the police department in Price, Utah, and who was responsible for the report.

"Nobody knows and nobody will ever know the answer to that question," he added.

What Else Happened At The Stop?

The stop in Utah occured as Laundrie and Petito were travelling together on a cross-country road trip, which was being documented via Petito's social media accounts on YouTube and Instagram.

The couple had previously taken a road trip in late 2019 and early 2020, but had only recently purchased the van for the 2021 trip that was set to last 4 months.

After setting off in July, officers stopped the couple in their travel van after the vehicle was seen speeding and to have hit a curb close to Arches National Park. It was then that Laundrie reportedly told police that the driving was caused by a 'scuffle' after he had entered the van with dirty feet.

Officers were then given a similar story by Petito, who reportedly blamed her own wishes to maintain cleanliness in the vehicle. She admitted to hitting Laundrie first, and as neither party wished to press charges, the officers settled the incident as a mental health issue, and recommended that the couple spent the night apart.

The Report's Aftermath

The main suggestions made by the report are for greater police training in circumstances of domestic violence, amongst others, but is clear to state that blame for Petito's death does not lie with the responding officers.

As reported in the AP, The city of Moab has agreed to adopt the report's suggestions and has stated that the officers "showed kindness, respect and empathy in their handling of this incident."

Another Piece of the Gabby Petito Story

The missing case and eventual murder investigation of Gabby Petito was one that quickly gained world-wide traction. In light of Petito's frequent use of social media, the story of her disappearance spread significantly in the hours and days following Laundrie's return without her in late August, 2021.

The report is but another development in the widely-publicized case that eventually saw Laundrie commit suicide. Police had considered Laundrie a person of interest from the very beginning, and many online were desperate to find his whereabouts upon his own disappearance following 13 Sept.

SAG Awards 2022: 5 Shocking Snubs That Deserved Better

The Screen Actors Guild Awards 2022 nominations were announced on January 12 but many fan favorites and critically-acclaimed performances didn't make the list.

The nominations were announced via Instagram Live by Vanessa Hudgens and Rosario Dawson. Some of the shows and films that earned a nomination include HBO's Succession, Korean drama Squid Game and House of Gucci.

While many great TV and film projects got their dues, there were a couple of popular roles that were snubbed big time.

Here are some of the biggest snubs of the SAG Awards 2022.

1. Kristen Stewart In 'Spencer'

Kristen Stewart's performance as the late Princess Diana was riveting in Pablo Larraín's Spencer.

The movie, which focuses on Diana's unraveling over the course of three days, showcased Stewart's ability to disappear into a role and captivate the audience.

The movie became one of the most talked-about films of 2021, thanks to Stewart's amazing performance. Shockingly, she didn't get nominated.

2. Selena Gomez In 'Only Murders In The Building'

Over in the TV category, Selena Gomez as Mabel Mora in Hulu's Only Murders in the Building also got snubbed.

The popstar's return to television found her investigating a murder mystery in a fancy New York apartment. Paired with comedy veterans Steve Martin and Martin Short, the young star held her own and impressed both the critics and viewers.

The show, however, received several nominations and both Martin and Short received noms for male actor in a comedy series.

3. Issa Rae In 'Insecure'

Another SAG nomination snub that deserved to be in the spotlight is Issa Rae's Insecure.

Throughout its five-season run, the HBO series never got love from the SAG Awards. The comedy show, which was also created by Issa Rae, tells the story of two modern-day black women who are dealing with their own insecurities and navigating their everyday lives.

4. Leonardo DiCaprio In 'Don't Look Up'

DiCaprio in Don't Look Up gave the viewers an anxious astronomer trying to save the world. While his acting was undoubtedly impressive and the movie had a positive reception, Leo was snubbed by the voting committee.

5. The Cast Of 'West Side Story'

Steven Spielberg's critically acclaimed musical West Side Story received major praise from other award-giving bodies. It got 11 Critics Choice Awards nominations and won Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress in the Golden Globes.

However, despite its accolades and outstanding cast ensemble, it only got one nomination from SAG, which went to Ariana DeBose for her supporting role.
