Khloe Kardashian Will 'Never' Take Tristan Back After Paternity Scandal Posted: 04 Jan 2022 05:07 PM PST ![]() Think again. Tristan Thompson may have seen a romantic future with Khloé Kardashian, but his ex isn’t ready to forgive him for his dalliance with Maralee Nichols. “Tristan wants to make everything right with Khloé,” an insider exclusively tells Us Weekly of the NBA star, 30, and the reality star, 37. “He wants to win her back, but she will never take him back romantically after learning about his cheating. This was the final straw.” One month after Us confirmed that Nichols welcomed a son she claimed was Thompson’s, the athlete admitted that he fathered the child. "Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions," he wrote via Instagram Stories on Monday, January 3. "Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son." In a separate Instagram Story that same day, the Sacramento Kings player publicly apologized to Kardashian. The pair, who share 3-year-old daughter True, were still dating when Thompson hooked up with Nichols in March 2021. "Khloé, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years," the Canada native wrote. "My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.” Though the former Revenge Body host hasn’t publicly addressed Thompson’s apology, the insider tells Us that she’s “staying strong” for her daughter. “Her family and best friends are really her biggest support system,” the source adds. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum and the former Boston Celtics player weathered their share of drama during their romance, which began in 2016. Before True’s arrival in April 2018, Thompson was caught cheating with multiple women. The duo stayed together at the time, but they split 10 months later after the basketball star kissed Jordyn Woods, Kylie Jenner‘s then-BFF. A year and a half later, the couple rekindled their romance while isolating together during the coronavirus pandemic. "Khloé is hopeful that Tristan has changed for good and will continue to grow and be the great and loyal partner that he has been throughout their time together during the quarantine," an insider told Us in August 2020. Less than one year later, however, the pair split again. “There was no drama," a source told Us of the on-off duo in June 2021. "Things just didn't work out." With reporting by Diana Cooper |
Jenna Bush Hager Surprises Savannah Guthrie With Epic Birthday Gift Posted: 04 Jan 2022 05:01 PM PST What makes a great gift? It all depends on who you ask. For stars such as Kylie Jenner and Kanye West, more is definitely more. Money is no object for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum and the rap mogul, who shower their friends and family members with extravagant goods. The Kylie Cosmetics founder has given everything from a Ferrari to Louis Vuitton handbags to those in her inner circle. The Yeezy designer, for his part, has donated $1 million to his then-wife Kim Kardashian's favorite charity in honor of her birthday and also had a one-of-a-kind Hermès Birkin bag hand-painted for her. The KKW Beauty founder's 40th birthday celebration in October 2020, proved that Kardashian is also a great gift giver. The Skims founder flew her closest friends and family to a private island for a week of festivities and fun activities, including dancing, bike riding, movies on the beach and big dinner. "I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now," she wrote via Instagram, referencing the coronavirus pandemic quarantine restrictions at the time. "So in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40." Prince Charles' Prince Harry Climate Change Praise Was a ‘Peace Offering’ Posted: 04 Jan 2022 03:02 PM PST Making amends? Prince Charles' praise for son Prince Harry and his climate change work was a "peace offering," royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti exclusively tells Us Weekly. The Prince of Wales, 73, made supportive comments about both Harry, 37, and Prince William in relation to their fight for a more environmentally sustainable future in a lengthy essay for Newsweek's Tuesday, January 4, issue. The remarks come amid a rocky relationship between Harry and his father, which has been going on for years. "That’s certainly a shift from what the queen did. [Queen Elizabeth II has] now twice made speeches … where she mentioned the environment and the work that her husband Prince Philip had done," the journalist explains. "And the work that her son Prince Charles and his son Prince William have continued to do. But she didn’t mention Prince Harry once in either of those speeches." While Sacerdoti notes that the queen's remarks didn't seem "vindictive," since she was focused on singing the praises of the senior working royals, Charles' statement was much more inclusive. "Charles has made a point of mentioning both his sons. So, I think that’s perhaps a peace offering, let’s say in the court of public opinion, played out in a magazine, which appears to be the way that Meghan [Markle] and Harry like to do things," the British broadcaster tells Us. "So in a sense, he’s making a peace offering, and he is doing it on their turf. That is, to say, in the public gaze." Sacerdoti adds that the royals "would’ve liked to deal with this squabble quietly, privately behind closed doors [but] Meghan and Harry haven’t given them that option." The former military pilot and Meghan, 40, have been seemingly at odds with the rest of Harry's family since they announced their royal step back in January 2020 and subsequently relocated to the U.S. The couple added fuel to the fire when they did a joint CBS interview in March 2021, claiming racist treatment of Meghan in the U.K. and lack of support from the palace led to their move to America. The pair, who share son Archie, 2, and daughter Lili, 7 months, have had ups and downs with Harry's extended family but appeared to be on better terms after the Duke of Sussex flew solo to the U.K. in April 2021 for his grandfather Prince Philip's funeral. As the royals continue to navigate their relationship with Harry and Meghan, Sacerdoti says "They’re going to have to find new ways to [make progress]." The queen's upcoming platinum Jubilee celebrations, which should take place in England in June in honor of her 70 years on the throne, could be the perfect opportunity for the entire group to move forward for good. "Sometimes families might use a special occasion or an event to put some things behind them that maybe have been causing trouble. And it’s not unusual in families to have squabbles," the expert tells Us, noting that Harry may come alone if Meghan doesn't want to make the trip. "Of course, the squabbles and tensions that this family are talking about are very unique. It’s not many people who go on primetime TV around the world to accuse their [father] of cutting [them] off, [or out of] millions of pounds that they were banking on having." Ultimately, Sacerdoti thinks her majesty's milestone festivities could be just the ticket to end the tense relationships between all of the royals. Whether or not Meghan will come back to the U.K. for the first time since her and Harry's royal step back, however, is still up in the air. "Unfortunately for them and for the royal family, it will steal some focus because if she doesn’t come, everyone will be talking about that. If she does come, everyone will be talking about that," Sacerdoti adds. "So whatever happens, I think there’s going to plenty of discussion of how their relationship is with the queen and the wider royal family. That means that this could be an opportunity for them to come back and appear magnanimous and really just throw themselves into the celebrations and keep a low profile." Next Steps! Colton Underwood and BF Jordan C. Brown Buy a House Together Posted: 04 Jan 2022 02:45 PM PST Taking the next step! Colton Underwood and boyfriend Jordan C. Brown have bought a house together one month after they made their relationship official, Us Weekly confirms. The duo purchased the $3 million home in December 2021 after they confirmed their romance on Instagram. That same month, Underwood, 29, gushed about his boyfriend, 38, as he reflected on the significance of sharing his journey on Coming Out Colton. “I’m happy, I’m in love and I’m in a good position,” the athlete exclusively told Us ahead of the show’s debut, adding that Brown has met his family. “Everything as far as that goes has been pretty smooth. What was so cool too was, like, after the show was over, I didn’t know what was really next. I knew that I was still coming out and I still am. So there’s still things to work through right now. … The friends that I have, the support group that I have has been so helpful and impactful.” At the time, the reality star explained why he chose not to include his relationship with Brown on the Netflix series, saying, "I have been through that. I have done that. Even going into the show, that was one of the conversations with the production company. … I'm not in a space right now to really, like, put myself out there like that. I had a lot of self-discovery to do." Although Underwood and Brown haven’t shared the screen yet, the former professional football player didn’t rule out documenting his romance in the future, adding, "I don't want to speak in definitives right now because as I learned, I'm growing and I want to give myself space to really explore new things at the moment. I've definitely drawn boundaries on that. Having a public relationship, for me, was not healthy. I just think right now I'm really sort of protecting and guarding what I have." Viewers originally met Underwood when he joined Becca Kufrin's season of The Bachelorette in 2018. After ending season 14 single, the former NFL player appeared on season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise before he became the season 23 Bachelor. Underwood left the show with Cassie Randolph in 2019, but the duo faced their fair share of ups and downs. Four months after they announced their split in May 2020, Randolph, 26, was granted a restraining order against the Indiana native after he reportedly was "stalking and harassing her." The case was dropped in November 2020. Underwood later addressed his personal life when he came out as gay. “This year’s been a lot for a lot of people and it’s probably made a lot of people look at themselves in the year and figure out who they are,” he shared during an interview with Good Morning America in April 2021. “I’ve ran from myself for a long time, I’ve hated myself for a long time. I’m gay. I came to terms with that earlier this year, and the next step in all of this was sort of letting people know. … I’m the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been in my life. That means the world to me.” The TV personality explained that he went through a really tough time, seemingly discussing his past with Randolph. “I got into a place with my personal life that was dark, and bad, and I can list a bunch of different things, but they'd all be excuses,” Underwood explained at the time. “I think overall, the reason why now is because I got to a place where I didn't think I was ever going to share this I don't, I would have rather died than, say, ‘I'm gay.’I think that was sort of my wake-up call.” Later that year, Us confirmed that Underwood was dating Brown as they enjoyed a tropical getaway together. Jana Duggar Child Endangerment Case Settled Outside of Court Posted: 04 Jan 2022 01:36 PM PST While facing more severe consequences, Josh Duggar isn't the only member of the controversial family in trouble with the law. Jana Duggar has been charged with child endangerment following a September babysitting incident. Jana, the eldest daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's 19 children, was featured on the TLC series 19 Kids and Counting and its spinoff, Counting On. In addition to her twin brother, John-David, she has 17 siblings: Josh, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jedidiah, Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace and Josie. While she may be the second oldest in a family that tends to get married young, Jana is single. “I feel like these days, probably one of the most common questions is, 'Am I in a relationship?'" she said during a September 2020 episode of their former reality show. “Sometimes it gets a little old. I’m like ‘No, I’m not, no I don’t have anyone.’ And usually, I’m just like ‘OK, I’ll just answer it and go on and that’s it.’ Sometimes it can get a little like, ‘What, that’s not the only thing in the world to talk about.'” She added at the time: “Most of my siblings have gotten married really young. Some people are like, ‘Are you picky?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t think so.'” TLC officially cut ties with the Duggars after Josh, who no longer appeared on Counting On, was arrested for possession of child pornography in June 2021. (He was found guilty in December 2021 and is awaiting sentencing.) That doesn't stop the famous family from making headlines, however, as Jana came under fire amid Josh's trial. The same month that Josh was convicted, news broke that Jana was facing child endangerment allegations related to an incident three months prior. "I was babysitting a few months ago when one of the children wandered outside alone," Jana said via a social media statement. "A passerby who saw the child called the police. This resulted in a written citation, as well as a follow-up with child welfare who concluded that it was an accident and the child was unharmed." Scroll through for more on Jana's case: ![]() It’s not public knowledge whose children Jana was babysitting when one of the kids “wandered” outside alone. According to the former reality star, police “recognized [the situation] was a case of a child slipping out of the house when you turn your back for a moment.” She explained: “It all happened so quickly and was scary. I am grateful for law enforcement and those who protect and serve our community. I was certainly never arrested like some may have implied. In the end I was just upset at myself that it had happened at all, but so thankful it all ended safely and that’s truly what mattered the most to me.” TLC ![]() According to the Elm Springs District Country Clerk, Jana was not arrested but rather charged with endangering the welfare of a minor in September 2021 in Arkansas. The misdemeanor could result in paying fines or spending up to 90 days in jail. Courtesy of Jana Duggar/Intagram ![]() Several of Jana’s family members have come to her defense, including her sister Jessa Duggar, who said her sibling made an “innocent mistake.” “She was babysitting and one of the kids slipped out the door unnoticed, but it ended safely. Could’ve happened to anyone,” Jessa, who has four kids, wrote via Instagram Stories in December 2021. “She’s without question one of the most amazing women I know and I’d trust her with my kids any day of the week. Do me a favor — give the girl a break, and all you perfect humans go back to living your lives.” Her cousin Amy King (née Duggar) also showed support. “I will call out what is right and I will call out what is wrong,” she wrote in December 2021 via Instagram. “This couldn’t have been intentional. Thank God the child was OK and found! I bet you were exhausted, stressed and just emotionally worn out. Watching multiple kids is hard! Bc there’s so many of them and you only have two eyes!! It’s a very sad situation going on and my heart goes out to @janamduggar love you.” Courtesy of Jana Duggar/Instagram ![]() While the case was set to go to trial on January 10, it was instead settled outside of court, the county clerk confirmed to Us on January 4. Impractical Jokers' Joe Gatto's Wife Bessy Calls Herself 'Broken' After Split Posted: 04 Jan 2022 01:30 PM PST ![]() After announcing her split from Impractical Jokers star Joe Gatto, Bessy Gatto used self-deprecating humor to address the changes going on in her life. Bessy, 39, took to TikTok on Sunday, January 2, to share a stitch clip of her responding to the question, “What’s that broken thing in your house that everyone just accepts and lives with?” In the video, Bessy was cuddling with her dog as she raised her hand in response. The social media post comes shortly after Bessy addressed her decision to part ways from Joe, 45, following eight years of marriage. “With love and respect, we have decided to separate. Although we will no longer be a couple, we will always be a family to our beautiful kids and we look forward to co-parenting together,” she shared via Instagram on Friday, December 31. “We ask that you please respect our privacy as we navigate this new chapter together. And of course we will still continue to help animals and rescue dogs, which is something we are both passionate about! ![]() That same day, the comedian confirmed the breakup and revealed that he wouldn’t be returning for season 10 of Impractical Jokers. “Sorry in advance for the long and more-serious-than-usual note below, I just wanted to let you all know that I will no longer be involved with Impractical Jokers,” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “Alongside my friends, I've devoted a decade of my life to building this franchise and couldn't be prouder of what has been accomplished. However, due to some issues in my personal life, I have to step away. Bessy and I have decided to amicably part ways, so now I need to focus on being the best father and coparent to our two incredible kids.” The New York native, who shares daughter Milana, 6, and son Remo, 4, with his estranged wife, highlighted his bond with friends James "Murr" Murray, Brian "Q" Quinn and Sal Vulcano over the years. “Outside of my family, my relationships with Murr, Q and Sal have been the most important in my life,” he continued, referring to the Tenderloins comedy troupe that was created in 1998. “I know they will continue to make the world laugh. And even though the four of us are the ones who you all see, this show is only possible due to the hard work of the talented crew members who work behind the scenes. I am very thankful to have worked with each and every one of them.” Joe ended his lengthy statement by thanking his fans for their support as he works through “the challenges I am facing,” writing, “They say that laughter is the best medicine, and I hope I've been able to provide some of that over the last decade. Seeing you laugh has been my own medicine, particularly in these weird and difficult times we find ourselves.” Following a season 10 renewal of Impractical Jokers by TruTV, the rest of the group offered their support to Joe amid his departure. "After all these years together, we never imagined making Impractical Jokers without Joe,” the trio wrote in an Instagram statement on Friday. “While we are saddened to see him go, we want to keep making people laugh, keep our relationship working with the members of our team that we consider family. With the support of our fans, we'll get back to making a new chapter of Impractical Jokers in January." |
Sara Bareilles Opens Up About Her Mental Health Struggle After a 'Very Low Year' Posted: 04 Jan 2022 01:21 PM PST Katy Perry, Selena Gomez and more stars have shined a light on what it's really like to deal with mental health issues in the spotlight. Being in the public eye is part of the job when becoming a star, but it can make it more difficult to navigate one's problems. Many stars, however, have used their platform to normalize mental health problems. From sharing stories of postpartum depression to opening up about anxiety and suicidal thoughts, many of Hollywood's biggest names have become more vocal over the years about real-life struggles. Ahead of welcoming her first child with Orlando Bloom, Perry got real about facing bouts of depression and self-doubt in the past during an August 2020 interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe. Following her 2017 breakup and Witness album releases, Perry revealed she became "clinically depressed and had to get on medication for the first time in my life.” The "Roar" singer said she was "so ashamed of it" when she started taking medication. "I was like, ‘I’m Katy Perry. I wrote ‘Firework.’ I’m on medication. This is f—ed up,'" she recalled. The musician later learned how to "quiet it the f—k down" when it came to public criticism and went on a two year "psychological, spiritual, emotional journey." In April 2020, Gomez revealed that she has bipolar disorder and explained that by knowing that truth about herself she was able to feel more at ease. "When I have more information, it actually helps me, it doesn't scare me once I know it," the "Rare" singer said on an episode of Bright Minded: Live With Miley. "When I finally said what I was going to say, I wanted to know everything about it and it took the fear away." Kristen Bell shared her own mental health journey during an interview on Sunday Today With Willie Geist in November 2019, noting that she felt "incredibly irresponsible" for not speaking out sooner. "Everyone thinks there's some shame in it," the Frozen star said at the time. "I am someone who takes a medication for her anxiety and depression. I am someone who has to check myself and sometimes — if I'm feeling really low — make a checklist of good and bad things in my life to see if it's my mental state or if we really have a problem. And me talking about that actually came from [my husband, Dax Shepard]." Demi Lovato, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Jon Hamm have also opted not to hide their issues, instead speaking out about their past demons. Scroll down to see what some stars have said about mental health. ![]() The “Papercuts” singer got candid with Drew Barrymore during a December 2021 episode of her talk show, in which he admitted he struggled with being vulnerable outside of his music. “I see a lot of pictures of me and there's, like, smiles on them," he said. "It's just weird, though, because I didn't feel good at all that day and I kind of am sick of smiling on days when I don't feel like smiling. And I feel like this odd pressure because I don't want, like, my fans to think that I'm taking something for granted." The Dirt actor continued, "So if, like, I accept an award and I'm like, super smiley but behind the scenes … there was, like, stuff going on, or I didn't feel, I don't know, like, a lot of what I do is for other people and I haven't given myself the time to just accept that it's OK to not be OK." AFF-USA/Shutterstock ![]() The Outer Banks actor was was honored by Glenn Close and her Bring Change to Mind organization for his support of mental health awareness, and he opened up about struggling during his teen years. "I remember being 15 and having my first anxiety attack and not knowing how to process it and not knowing where it came from, and wishing I had an outlet to figure out how to understand those things," he said during his speech via E! Online. "This is not for me. This is for the 15-year-old Chase, who didn't know his place in society. And was not sure who he was." Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() The Dopesick star told E! News in November 2021 that he "really struggled" with his mental health throughout the coronavirus pandemic, thanking his Hulu family for being "very empathetic" as he worked through his ups and downs. "I'm very grateful to them for that," he added. JM Enternational/Shutterstock ![]() The model took to Instagram in November 2021 to share a clip of Willow Smith discussing feeling "lost" and "confused" alongside several photos of herself crying. She urged followers to take care of their mental health. "Social media is not real. For anyone struggling, please remember that," she wrote in a lengthy caption at the time. "Sometimes all you’ve gotta hear is that you’re not alone. So from me to you, you’re not alone. I love you, I see you, and I hear you. Self help and mental illness/chemical imbalance is not linear and it is almost like a flowing rollercoaster of obstacles … there is always light at the end of the tunnel." She hinted at her own struggles with depression and anxiety, adding, "It took me a long time to get that in my mind, but I’ve had enough breakdowns and burnouts to know this: if you work hard enough on yourself, spending time alone to understand your traumas, triggers, joys, and routine, you will always be able to understand or learn more about your own pain and how to handle it. Which is all that you can ask of yourself. Anyways. Not sure why but it feels harder and harder to not share my truth on here. Thank you for seeing me and thank you for listening." David Fisher/Shutterstock ![]() The Fargo star recalled hitting a wall with her depression during her 20s. The “anger” led to Dunst entering a rehab facility and ultimately starting medication. “I feel like most people around 27, the s--t hits the fan. Whatever is working in your brain, you can't live like that anymore mentally. I feel like I was angry,” she told The Sunday Times in November 2021. “All I'll say is that medication is a great thing and can really help you come out of something. I was afraid to take something and so I sat in it for too long.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() The rapper reflected on losing her mother in March 2019 after a battle with brain cancer. “I’ve lost both of my parents,” she said on Peace of Mind With Taraji in October 2021, also referring to her father’s death when she was a teenager. “Now I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, who do I talk to? What do I do?’ I just started learning that it’s OK to ask for help. It’s OK to want to go get therapy.” She continued: “As a Black person, and when you think of therapy, you think of, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m weak,’ you think of medication, and you just think the worst. That’s kind of what you see on TV too; like, therapy wasn’t even presented in the media as something that was good. Now it’s becoming safe to say, ‘All right now, there’s a little too much going on. Somebody help me.’” Michele Eve Sandberg/Shutterstock ![]() Although the singer works hard to stay on top of her mental health, she admitted that returning to antidepressants initially wasn't her first choice. "I've just been trying to deal day by day. To be honest with you, one of the things that I did — I judged myself a little bit for this, but I got back on antidepressants," JoJo detailed in an interview with Very Well Mind in September 2021. "I wanted to believe that I could clean up my diet, and get out in the sun, and write in my journal, and meditate and do yoga and just be okay. But I needed a little lift." Looking back on it now, the performer doesn't feel bad about needing "a little help." "I'm not ashamed that I did that. It was an important turning point for me," she added. ETIENNE LAURENT/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock ![]() The “Driver’s License” crooner opened up about prioritizing her mental health amid fame during an interview with Vogue Singapore, published in September 2021. “I’m taking [fame] one step at a time,” the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star told the magazine. “It can be really tough on your mental health, though. I’m grateful for the people who like me for me, and keep me separated from all the noise and tabloids or what people are saying about me on social media. That’s always been a top priority. It’s funny how recognition changes everything and also changes nothing in your life. The problems I was having a year ago are still the problems I’m having now, and things that brought me joy a year ago are still the things that bring me joy now. It’s just another aspect of life that you need to learn how to deal with, but it doesn’t change who you are as a person." Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() The Full House alum opened up about how she handles her depression in September 2021. She said in addition to the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic, being a working mom and traveling actress can mess with her emotions. “Really another big part why fitness is important for me is it’s so beneficial to my mental health,” Cameron Bure explained in an interview with The Salvation Army. “I not only juggle my family but also work in a lot of different capacities. It can get really difficult. The travel can get strenuous as well. I need to keep my mental health clear. Just sweating that out and all those endorphins really help me a lot. I notice a huge difference when I don’t exercise, how much it can affect me mentally and kind of deal with depression.” Willy Sanjuan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() In a rare interview, Wilson opened up about how struggles from his childhood went unaddressed. “As a kid, there’s a lot of things that you think about. Death — that kind of landed with me when I was about 11,” the actor explained to Esquire in August 2021. “And I don’t remember ever talking with my parents about it.” Wilson, who attempted suicide in August 2007, said that he tried to speak with his parents at the time. “Although I do remember one time saying to my dad — and I remember exactly where in the house — saying, ‘I worry about dying,’ and seeing my dad turn away and catch himself," he recalled. "And I was surprised to see that reaction. But who knows, maybe that was part of why I said it.” Since then, Wilson shared that he’s in a “lucky place” when it comes to his mental health, "feeling pretty appreciative" now. "I know everything’s kind of up and down, but when you get on one of these waves, you’ve gotta ride it as long as you can,” he noted at the time. “I’ve just felt — yeah. Feeling pretty grateful. Well, grateful’s one of those words that get used all the time. Appreciative. Of, you know, stuff.” Action Press/Shutterstock ![]() "When I was told that I couldn't have what I wanted, what I dream of, what I desired, and that was to rap. I was willing to die for it," the Grammy winner recalled during an episode of "Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man" in August 2021, going into detail about attempting suicide when he was 12. "[I] aimed for my heart. How I knew I had mental health problems was I pulled the trigger." Police arrived at the scene, and although the musician was badly injured, he survived. "There is no bar to measure how real. [Mental health is] real," he said. "It's so real that if someone even has the guts, the heart, the bravery, whatever to at least admit that they have something going on up there that they're not sure about, it's so real that we should only react in the realest way possible." Thaddaeus McAdams/Shutterstock ![]() In August 2021, Hudson shared a throwback photo of himself with a powerful caption. "Listen kid.. you’re [sic] future’s gonna be good but you’re gonna have to go on antidepressants," he wrote. "Shouldn’t be much of a surprise with that stupid face you’re making.. anyway, good look." Skip Bolen/Fox ![]() The model admitted that she struggles with "insane social anxiety" that only got worse when she became a public figure. "Partying is not my thing, but I felt enormous pressure to project that image because I assumed that's all people wanted from me," Hadid told Vogue in August 2021. "Now I don't want to live in that box. I definitely feel like I'm allowed to speak." Kathy Hutchins/Shutterstock ![]() “I’ve struggled with anxiety and social anxiety my whole life. I’ve masked it many times and this year has been heavy for all of us,” the stylist wrote via Instagram in August 2021. “Know there is hope. I’ve found it through sobriety and therapy. My life is happy again. I wish this for you all. Thank you for your love this year.” Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() In August 2021, the British actor opened up about how his 2019 stay in rehab was beneficial for his mental health as well as his physical health. “I went through some mental health difficulties after [Game of] Thrones — and during the end of Thrones, to be honest — and I think it was directly to do with the nature of the show and what I’ve been doing for years,” he said during an interview on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show. “I think I took a sort of break after Thrones where I said, ‘I don’t want to work for a year. I want to really kind of concentrate on myself.' I’m really happy I did that.” Later that month, he detailed his "traumatic" struggles in an interview with the Sunday Times, sharing that some of his troubles included alcohol. “You get to a place where you feel like you are a bad person, you feel like you are a shameful person. And you feel that there’s no way out, that’s just who you are. And getting sober is the process of going, ‘No, I can change,'" he said of his state of mind before going to rehab in 2019, admitting that he experienced suicidal thoughts. "I will give you an answer to that question: the answer is yes. Yes of course. I went through periods of real depression where I wanted to do all sorts of things. ... I definitely don’t want to be seen as a martyr or special. I’ve been through something, it’s my stuff. If it helps someone, that’s good." KCS Presse/MEGA ![]() Smith’s May 2021 performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon triggered memories of an anxiety attack she had before a live performance of “Whip My Hair” when she was younger. "I was doing the Jimmy Fallon performance and I had a flashback of being, like, 10 or 9 and, like, having an anxiety attack on set,” Smith explained on a July 2021 episode of “The Yungblud Podcast” for BBC Sounds. “And basically feeling like everyone around me was just, 'You're just a brat… Why aren't you grateful? You're having an anxiety attack,' but they didn't see it as an anxiety attack. They saw it like a tantrum.” The “Transparent Soul” singer explained that she needed to “take time” to process those feelings after reliving the attack. "I need to go into a little meditation," the “Transparent Soul” singer said. "I need to separate myself from the situation a little bit and kind of tell myself, 'You're not 9. You're a grown ass woman.' … And so I have to retrain my mind. So, my mental health is in a very fragile state, but I think it's a state where it's about to grow in a really awesome way.” Janet Mayer/Startraksphoto.com ![]() The Newsroom alum had a powerful conversation about depression and overcoming suicidal thoughts during a July 2021 appearance on The Demi Lovato Show. "For people who deal with depression, like you and me, and who can have suicidal thoughts, anytime you get to that place and it seems like things are too tough and you just can't take it anymore, just ask yourself if you can hold on another day," Munn told Lovato. The Oklahoma native noted that if someone takes their own life then it’s “game over” and you’ll never see what could happen in the future. "The pain is really tough. I know, you know. We've been there,” she continued. “But if I had ended my life when I wanted to, there is so much I would have missed. And that's what's worth staying for.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() The gymnastics champion withdrew from both the team and all-around finals during the Tokyo Olympics in July 2021. “After further medical evaluation, Simone Biles has withdrawn from the final individual all-around competition at the Tokyo Olympic Games, in order to focus on her mental health,” USA Gymnastics said in a statement at the time. “Simone will continue to be evaluated daily to determine whether or not to participate in next week’s individual event finals.” After her exit, Team USA went on to earn the silver medal during the team finals, which Biles claimed they might not have earned had she not withdrawn from the competition. “After that vault, I was like: ‘I’m not in the right headspace, I’m not going to lose a medal for this country and for these girls’ because they worked way too hard for me to go out there and have them lose a medal,” the Dancing With the Stars alum said in a press conference at the time. It reminded me of a moment in my life where I was watching a playback of myself in a fashion show and I thought, 'Oh, my God, I need to lose weight,'" Madison explained in the video, alongside a photo of her from 2005. "[I] thought I had gained weight, and thought I hadn't stuck to my diet, and I thought my thighs were huge and I thought, 'I need to lose five pounds at least,’ and that's ridiculous. I look like a stick." In the video, Madison hoped by sharing her story that others can realize the “off the charts” effects of body dysmorphia. “It's not worth it,” she continued. “It’s not worth feeling bad about yourself. In an essay published by Time, she wrote that she “felt pressure” to disclose her symptoms at the time and worried that people “did not believe [her].” Osaka also mentioned that she thinks every athlete deserves "the right to take a mental break from media scrutiny on a rare occasion without being subject to strict sanctions." After saying she wouldn’t do press for the French Open in May 2021, she received a $15,000 fine. "In any other line of work, you would be forgiven for taking a personal day here and there, so long as it's not habitual. You wouldn't have to divulge your most personal symptoms to your employer; there would likely be HR measures protecting at least some level of privacy," she wrote. "I feel uncomfortable being the spokesperson or face of athlete mental health as it’s still so new to me and I don’t have all the answers. I'm farther and farther removed from the show, and at the same time, I need to figure out what my life is going to look like and what my legacy is going to be." The reality star explained that fame altered his mental health over time, but that he was looking forward to a new chapter in his life even if it came with fear. "It's also really hard," he said. That's not normal.’” From there, she met with a therapist who diagnosed her with depression. “I was like, ‘Damn it, I'm depressed.” With the help of regular therapy and antidepressants, the Emmy Award winner revealed she doesn’t cry every day and can focus on other things in her life. She added, “You don't have to be on drugs for the whole time, but they truly, truly saved my life in the sense that I was not a functional human being and I was able to be a functional human being.” Nina Westervelt/Shutterstock ![]() The "Buy U a Drank" rapper revealed in June 2021 that some harsh criticism from Usher caused his mental health to take a negative turn. And I had a lot of these issues where I couldn't even go outside in public. This is something I worked through. I went to a doctor. I went to a psychologist." The Private Benjamin star added that she hadn't really planned to become famous — she originally moved to Hollywood to become a dancer — and was surprised when she became a household name. Dave Allocca/Starpix/Shutterstock ![]() The Schitt's Creek cocreator and star opened up about his lifelong battle with anxiety during a December 2020 interview with Bustle, revealing that his mental health struggles came with a few physical side effects. "I think that came from a deep-rooted fear of knowing that I was gay and not being able to be free," Levy said at the time. "By the time I got to high school, when your brain is starting to catch up to your physical impulses, it led to a very confusing time. Because on the one hand, you are now being introduced to things like self-awareness and anxiety. At the same time, you’re becoming more and more savvy when it comes to hiding it." While social situations caused a serious amount of stress, Levy found an escape in school plays. "I was starting to develop a sense of confidence by way of being able to entertain people," he explained. Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() The Bachelorette alum posted three photos showing her dancing as she marked World Mental Health Day in October 2020. The former beauty queen recalled the time she went to see a doctor before going into her junior year of college, when the physician asked her a simple question: "Are you happy, Hannah?" "I will never forget that seemingly simple question that came with a heavy answer," she wrote. "I'm the girl that is always wearing a smile! How dare he ask?! But oh, thank God he did." "'No…. I'm not. I don't even remember the last time I felt happy. And I don't know why. I have reason to be happy, but I just can't really feel it,' I said through broken words passing through the lumps of emotions that had felt indefinitely lodged in my throat," the Dancing With the Stars champ admitted. "I couldn't keep up the act anymore. For years, I silently struggled internally as I was externally championed as the one who always seemed happy. I honestly think that day in the doctor's office was the first time someone asked me if I was indeed, happy." "Admitting I wasn't okay, and acknowledging my silent, hostage struggle with anxiety and depression through my crocodile tears was a pivotal day for me," she continued. "I have made big leaps of progress in healing and understanding 'its okay not to be okay', with important tools and support to help manage the thoughts and feelings that take over and store within me. But several times in my progress, I have had setbacks; many being the overflow of not observing, in private, the gradual buildup of the hurtful, impactful emotions which consequently spewed into some, more public, relapses of destructive behavior. " Brown added that it's important to remember that "progress in mental health is a journey with hills and valleys. Our whole world has been through a valley of fear and hurt this year. Be gentle with yourself. Be humble during the process. You aren't going to always get it right and you will make mistakes, but you—just as you are, are enough. You matter. Ask for help. You are worthy of being able to answer the 'are you happy?' question and to say yes, regardless of the circumstances that would usually take your mind and soul captive. You got this. We've got this. You aren't alone." "I always thought OCD was I have to touch this x amount of times or I have to do this x amount of times before I leave the room, but I've also learned that OCD is classified with ruminating thoughts or obsessive thoughts or catastrophic thinking," she explained to host Dax Shepard. "I have that and I'm really trying to work on that right now because sometimes our minds go to our worst-case scenario. " The gymnast revealed that it’s not as easy as simply telling yourself to have a positive mindset. "I feel like for people who don't understand it, they're like, ‘Just don't think about it.' It does not work like that!" she said. "It's so hard because I've been trying to really educate myself on how our minds work just so I can help myself but also just so I can better talk about it and better understand it on a personal level with my family or my friends but also on a public level as well." The Fierce author has continually tried to educate herself on OCD and chose to discuss her personal struggles in hopes of helping others who suffer from the same thing. "So much of the time, our minds don't really realize what's made up and what's real and that's what I struggle with so much is that fight or flight response where it can be something so small and my body is reacting as if a tiger is trying to eat me," she explained. "In my opinion, it relates to trauma and PTSD. Unless you're getting to the root of the problem of why you are not feeling safe or out of control, you're going to keep having OCD and it's going to manifest into other ways of your life." The ache in my chest from the pain felt unbearable. At 18 I didn’t think I was going to be here for a 20th birthday soon to be 21. They felt 1000 years away.” The “Again” singer revealed that she was “so sad, so hurt and so scared” during that time before thanking those who were by her side “during all of my progression and the times where I felt like I was regressing.” Cyrus continued: “Every day is work when it comes to your mental health and personal battles. Thank you Cyrens for being patient.” The “July” artist thanked her fans for “understanding” how “hard” it was for Cyrus to grow up in the public eye, before going into more detail about how important the EP is to her. “I always have written nothing but the truth and this ep was exactly that. It tought [sic] me so much about myself... and looking back at myself then to show I am now I just want to run back in time and give that Noah a huge ass hug.. as she was breaking ever so slowly. While Hart resides in the south and Dorfman currently lives in Los Angeles, the couple have been making their long-distance romance work. "[They] haven't been apart for too long of a stretch of time since they met this summer," the insider says. "They try not to let too much time go by without seeing one another." The Georgia native gushed over her man on December 31, sharing a snap of the couple kissing at The Breakers Palm Beach hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, while in town to celebrate Kacie McDonnell's wedding. Kim Kardashian Subtly Supports Khloe After Tristan Confirms His 2nd Son Posted: 04 Jan 2022 12:38 PM PST Family first! Kim Kardashian stood by Khloé Kardashian‘s side after Tristan Thompson apologized to her younger sister for his messy paternity scandal. Kim, 41, shared a sweet family photo of the two sisters posing for the camera at a Sing 2 event on Tuesday, January 4. The beauty mogul was joined by her son Saint, 6, and daughter Chicago, 3, in the shot while Khloé, 37, held her 3-year-old daughter, True, in her arms. Kim’s daughter North, 8, made an appearance in another snap as well. The Skims founder, who also shares 2-year-old Psalm with estranged husband Kanye West, added the infinity symbol as the caption, which Khloé added in her response to the post. Kim’s subtle supportive message comes one day after Thompson, 30, revealed that he is the father of Maralee Nichols‘ son. "Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions," he wrote via Instagram Stories on Monday, January 3. "Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son." After the genetic test came back positive, the professional basketball player offered an apology to the reality star for the situation, saying, "Khloé, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry." The Sacramento Kings player was originally sued by Nichols, 31, in July 2021 for child support when the fitness model claimed that he was the father of her child. The Canada native, for his part, acknowledged that he previously hooked up with Nichols and requested genetic testing in response to the original court filing. As Thompson’s legal issues made headlines months later, Us Weekly broke the news in December 2021 that Nichols gave birth to a baby boy. At the time, a source exclusively told Us that Khloé found out about the paternity lawsuit through Thompson, noting, “He knew it was inevitable [and] that he would no longer be able to keep it from her." Another insider revealed that Khloé had her famous family’s full support amid the news, noting, "[They] have been very supportive to her. Even though Khloé is hurt, she's staying strong and trying to move forward." According to court documents, Nichols claimed that she knew Thompson since 2020. The NBA star, who also shares a 5-year-old son with ex Jordan Craig, was dating Khloé at the time when his interactions with Nichols occurred. Nichols, for her part, addressed Thompson’s public statement, saying “There was never any doubt that Tristan Thompson was the father.” The Texas native continued via a publicist: "Tristan made numerous false and defamatory statements and declarations about Maralee over the past few months, and she is taking his contrite statement today in the context of all of those statements." |
Seth Meyers and More Stars Who Tested Positive for COVID-19 in 2022 Posted: 04 Jan 2022 12:18 PM PST The pandemic isn’t over. Just as it did in 2020 and 2021, Hollywood’s A-list continues to be affected by COVID-19 in 2022 — but they largely attribute their fast recoveries to vaccines. In January, Late Night With Seth Meyers only returned from holiday break for one show before suddenly having to go on hiatus amid the omicron variant’s prevalence. “The bad news is, I tested positive for COVID (thanks, 2022!) the good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!),” Seth Meyers wrote via Twitter on January 4. “We are canceling the rest of the shows this week, so tune in next Monday to see what cool location we will try and pass off as a studio!!!” Meyers’ fellow NBC late night host Jimmy Fallon revealed a day prior that he’d recently recovered from COVID-19. The Saturday Night Live alum made it clear that he tested negative before returning to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on January 3. “Hey guys, on the first day of our holiday break I tested positive for Covid,” he captioned a photo via Instagram of himself masked in a room marked “reserved for testing use.” The room was decorated with an iconic Diff’rent Strokes quote, which Fallon appreciated. He continued, “I was vaccinated and boostered which made me lucky enough to only have mild symptoms. Thank you to the doctors and nurses who work so hard around the clock to get everyone vaxxed. Thank you to NBC for taking the testing protocols so seriously and doing a great job – and also thanks for putting me in the ‘What 'chu talkin' about Willis?’ isolation room when they told me the news.” In the comments section, Fallon told a fan that he completely recovered, writing, “The positive came back on 12/18. Back at work today and feeling 100%!” The NBC hosts both advocated for vaccination. As of January, the CDC recommended a booster shot for people over age 16 five months after completing the primary series. Meyers and Fallon each had a booster before testing positive. Similarly, Whoopi Goldberg also had a breakthrough case amid the highly contagious variant’s spread. Her View cohost Joy Behar announced the news on January 3 and said the Sister Act star was expected to be fully recovered within a week. “Why am I here instead of Whoopi? Well, Whoopi, unfortunately, tested positive over the break, but she’ll be back probably next week,” Behar explained. “Since she’s vaxxed and boosted, her symptoms have been very, very, mild. But we’re being super cautious here at The View.” The daytime talk show opted to film remotely for the week in the midst of Goldberg’s positive test. “They say there’s no place like home for the holidays and that’s exactly where we are this year,” Behar said. “Happy New Year from all of our living rooms. As you can see, we’re back in boxes and doing the show remotely — hopefully for just a week. I’m praying that it’s just a week, but you never know because this omicron thing is all over the place.” See the stars who have tested positive for COVID-19 in 2022: ![]() The Illinois native canceled a week of Late Night With Seth Meyers on January 4 and attributed his mild symptoms to the vaccine. Joshua Bassett Reveals If He’s Nervous to Return to ‘HSM’ Set With Olivia Posted: 04 Jan 2022 11:19 AM PST Disney drama! Us Weekly is breaking down Olivia Rodrigo's alleged feud with High School Musical: The Musical — The Series costar Joshua Bassett and Sabrina Carpenter, amid their music faceoff. The Bizaardvark alum, 17, made headlines in January 2021 after releasing her debut single, "Driver's License." The hit song resonated with Rodrigo's fans, including Taylor Swift, but it also caused some to think that it was about the rumored drama between her, Bassett, 20, and Carpenter, 21. Eagle-eyed fans pointed out that Rodrigo changed the lyrics from her 2020 teaser track from "brunette" to "blonde," seemingly referencing the Girl Meets World alum in one verse. "And you're probably with that blonde girl / Who always made me doubt / She's so much older than me / She's everything I'm insecure about," the Grace Stirs Up Success star sings, hinting at Carpenter's hair color and the fact that she is three years older than her. Rodrigo's track came six months after Bassett released the song, "Anyone Else," in July 2020, which appeared to be about her. "How am I supposed to think about anything else? / How am I to go on keeping this to myself? / I am done pretending I want anyone else / Anyone else, anyone else," Bassett sings. He later confirmed that the track was written about falling for a friend who was unavailable. In her song, Rodrigo, sings, "I just can't imagine how you could be so OK now that I'm gone / Guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me." Although the costars have never addressed whether they were ever romantically involved, fans believe that Rodrigo and Bassett were an item in 2020. The Stuck in the Middle alum, however, seemed to move on with Carpenter in June 2020, after the pair were spotted at a protest together in L.A. Rodrigo has yet to identify who inspired her new track, but both Bassett and Carpenter have since dropped songs of their own, hinting that they are in fact the source of inspiration for "Driver's License." Bassett's January 2021 release, titled, "Lie, Lie, Lie," came out on January 14, one week after Rodrigo's song hit the airwaves. "I wrote 'Lie, Lie, Lie' after I found out a friend had been lying about me behind my back for a long time," the Oceanside, California, native wrote via his Instagram Stories at the time. "It always sucks to hear that someone you thought you could trust would throw you under the bus when it benefits them." He added: "It happens to all of us, and I think all you can do is seek out people that build you up rather than tear you down." The following week, the Clouds actress shared what appeared to be her side of the story, in the January 22 release of "Skin." "Maybe we could've been friends / If I met you in another life," Carpenter sings at one point in the track. She later seemingly referenced Rodrigo's title, with the lyric, "Don't drive yourself insane.” Scroll down to see everything that has unfolded between the Disney Channel stars amid their alleged feud. ![]() Fans claimed that the costars dated in 2020, but neither Rodrigo nor Bassett have confirmed whether they were more than friends. He later spoke about the inspiration behind the song, telling Broadway World that he wrote it after realizing “that I was hopelessly falling in love with a close friend … who was in a relationship with someone else.” ![]() After the Bizaardvark alum released her song “Driver’s License” in January 2021, fans speculated that it was about her rumored feud with Bassett and his new flame, Carpenter. “And you’re probably with that blonde girl / Who always made me doubt / She’s so much older than me / She’s everything I’m insecure about,” she sings in one verse. Eagle-eyed fans pointed out that in her teaser of the single, released via Instagram in 2020, the lyrics were about a “brunette,” but was changed on the final version to “blonde,” seemingly hinting at Carpenter. Rodrigo also sang, “Guess you didn’t mean what you wrote in that song about me,” which some listeners think was referring to Bassett’s “Anyone Else” track. ![]() “I totally understand people’s curiosity with the specifics of who the song’s about and what it’s about, but to me, that’s really the least important part of the song,” Rodrigo told Billboard in January 2021 about who inspired her hit single. “It’s resonating with people because of how emotional it is, and I think everything else is not important.” Walt Disney Pictures/Kobal/Shutterstock ![]() “I know what you say about me / I hope that it makes you happy / You can’t seem to get me off your mind (Get me off your mind),” Bassett sings in his January 2021 track, “Lie, Lie, Lie,” seemingly reacting to Rodrigo’s song. “Oh, I know you’re lying through your teeth / You told them the lies that you told me / I’ve had enough of it this time (Had enough this time).” The musician also released a corresponding music video on January 14, showing him driving alone in a car, in what appears to be a nod to his costar’s song. Shutterstock ![]() The Girl Meets World alum released her own song, “Skin,” in January 2021, seemingly about the alleged feud between her and Rodrigo over Bassett. “I’m not asking you to let it go / You been tellin’ your side / So I’ll be tellin’ mine,” Carpenter sings, noting in the chorus, “You can try / To get under my, under my, under my skin / While he’s on mine / Yeah, all on my, all on my, all on my skin / I wish you knew that еven you / Can’t get under my skin if I don’t let you in.” In another line, the Adventures in Babysitting star sings that “maybe ‘blonde’ was the only rhyme,” allegedly pointing to being called a “blonde girl” in Rodrigo’s track. ![]() “Been stuck in my head since I heard it,” Bassett wrote on his Instagram Story in January 2021, praising Carpenter’s new song. “Congratulations @sabrinacarpenter on ‘Skin,’ the new label, & all that’s to come.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() Hours after the Horns actress dropped “Skin,” Rodrigo posted a video of herself on her Instagram Story singing Taylor Swift’s “…Ready for It?” while in her car. The Disney star sang the verse, “I see nothing better I keep him forever / Like a vendetta-ta / I-I-I see how this is gonna go / Touch me and you'll never be alone / I-Island breeze and lights down low / No one has to know,” which seemed to hint at the back and forth drama between the three stars. Courtesy Olivia Rodrigo/Instagram ![]() Carpenter shut down rumors that she "wrote a diss track" about Rodrigo in a January 2021 Instagram post about the release of "Skin." She also called "Drivers License" a "magnificent" song. "['Skin'] isn’t calling out one single person,” she insisted. “Some lines address a specific situation, while other lines address plenty of other experiences I’ve had this past year.. it also shows that many things have actually gotten under my skin.. and I’m still learning to not give other people so much power over my feelings." Shutterstock (2) ![]() Bassett released “Only a Matter of Time” on January 28, which he revealed was written in the summer of 2020, around the same time that he first started seeing Carpenter after his alleged fallout with Rodrigo. In the song, he talks about drama and a back-and-forth relationship, seemingly hinting at his own love triangle. “It’s only a matter of time / An eye for an eye / You’ll go blind / And when did you stop being kind? / You twisted your words like a knife,” he sings in the chorus. “I’m sure that you’re hurting inside / Why would you make your pain mine? / Making me pay me for your crimes.” YouTube ![]() "It's such a struggle not to be able to control the narrative and know that whether you say something or whether you don't say something, people are gonna be mad at you either way," Carpenter told Radio.com in a February 2021 interview, seemingly denying that the "blonde" lyric in "Skin" is a reference to Rodrigo's chart-topping single. "It's really just one of those things where you have to kind of to do for yourself at the end of the day and do it in the hopes that someone can find inspiration in the message. ... At the end of the day, the more I dance around the subject, the less people kind of understand where I'm coming from. Not that the goal is to get them to understand, because I don't think at the end of the day you're ever going to accomplish that." Though her song was the latest to ignite feud rumors, Carpenter thinks its message is one that "a lot of people have probably felt" they can relate to. "There's very obviously gravity in the words that we put out," she said. "people feel the need to always insert their opinions. Sometimes it's easier to shut your mouth than other times ... And this time I wrote a song and I'm very proud of it, and I'm glad that people are receiving it well." RMV/Shutterstock ![]() In February 2021, Carpenter teased a collaboration with Bassett called “We Both Know” during a Radio.com interview. “I can’t say too much. It’s on his project, so I’m like, I don't want to say too much that I can't say, but it’s a collaboration very dear to my heart that I’m excited about,” she explained. “We did it a while ago now. I guess you'll have to see!” Bassett also opened up about the project while speaking to Febre Teen the month before. At the time, he revealed that he reached out to Carpenter via Instagram after writing the track. “I sent her a quick message and was like, ‘Hey, I think you’re really awesome and I have this song I think you would sound great on, let me know what you think,’ and she responded like 10 minutes later, gave me her number, and I sent her the song,” he recalled. “Fortunately, she liked it, so we got together in the studio and it was just a blast to make. I’m really happy with how it all turned out.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() Nothing to see here! Bassett revealed in February 2021 that he cut a duet with Carpenter off his upcoming EP. “I didn’t want my EP to be overshadowed by some other narrative that people were trying to make,” he told Billboard magazine. “I really want the focus to be on the art instead of some of the talk and the chatter. You shouldn’t live to please everybody, but at the same time, there are ways to be sensitive to situations where maybe [the duet] has a better chance at a different time.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() Rodrigo revealed in a March 2021 interview with Radio.com that she doesn’t know Carpenter “at all” after months of drama between the pair. “I think we’ve met once or twice in passing, but I’ve never had a conversation with her,” she explained. “I don’t think I could write a song that was meaningful or emotional about somebody that I don’t know.” Mark Von Holden/Invision/AP/Shutterstock; Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Three months after “Drivers License,” Rodrigo dropped her second single, “Deja Vu,” and all signs pointed to Bassett and Carpenter. As she sang about watching an ex move on, Rodrigo seemingly referenced Bassett’s jacket (again), teaching him about Billy Joel (he covered “Vienna” in 2019) and singing duets together. The most-telling lyric pointed to her ex dating someone else in the entertainment business. “Do you call her, almost say my name? / ‘Cause let's be honest, we kinda do sound the same,” Rodrigo sings. “Another actress, I hate to think that I was just your type.” Shutterstock ![]() Weeks after her second single dropped, Bassett sent his costar love via Instagram Stories. “SUUUUUUPER late on this but!” he wrote in April 2021. “I love this song so much @oliviarodrigo!!! The world better watch out for the album!!!!!” Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() Rodrigo addressed the increased interest in her love life in her May 2021 Elle cover story. “It’s truly any songwriter’s dream,” she said in the profile, which was released online in April 2021. “There’s something so powerful in being vulnerable and open, like, 'This is my life, and I’m f—king sad' or 'I’m insecure.' That’s what makes songwriting so special." ![]() Ahead of the season 2 premiere of HSMTMTS, Disney released a new song from the show titled "Even When/The Best Part," which is a duet between Bassett and Rodrigo. "I played guitar when we filmed it, and sang along to Olivia’s vocals in my ear while she shot her side separately!" Bassett told Billboard of the track in April 2021. "I’m stoked to see how it all came together and really think people are gonna love it!" Walt Disney Pictures/Kobal/Shutterstock ![]() During a June 2021 interview with GQ, Bassett explained that "the hardest thing" about the rumored love triangle is not talking about. "The reality is it’s kind of like a lost cause trying to talk about any of that stuff, and I refuse to feed into any of the bulls--t, so I just don’t," he said. "[Everyone] is asking me about Sabrina and Olivia. Why don't we focus on these women for who they are? Let's focus on the art that they're making and how great they are instead of their relationship to a boy." Mark Von Holden/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Carpenter reflected on the speculation surrounding “Skin” in a September 2021 interview with Teen Vogue. “I felt like in that moment, the most honest thing would be to put it out when it was accurately reflecting what was going on in my life,” she explained. “Because that’s literally all I ever do is write about my life and my situations, not just my life, but the way I see the world through situations I’m experiencing, people I’m experiencing. Then it’s kind of on everyone else and what they choose to make it about. You know what I mean?” She pointed to Swift as an inspiration, though she noted that she does not want her music to fuel rumors about its subjects. “That’s what I hope to do with my songs, is to be able to not have people care so much about who or why or what happened in my life — that’s a secret I’ll never tell,” she teased. “They can conspire all they want, but they’re wasting a lot of time because it doesn’t matter.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock; Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock ![]() Bassett and Carpenter were photographed together at Harry Styles' concert in New York City in October 2021. "I'm glad that it's taken this long [to release the songs]," he told the magazine. "I finally found the courage to speak up for myself. The Kardashian-Jenner Family’s Friendships With Their Exes: A Guide Posted: 04 Jan 2022 11:18 AM PST Keep your friends close … but your exes closer? The Kardashian-Jenner family is known to stay on good terms with their exes. Kris Jenner seemingly set the precedent when she stayed friendly with ex-husband Robert Kardashian Sr. before his 2003 death. "It took me a couple of years after Robert and I got divorced, but we became the best of friends," the momager said on Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2019. "So I know a thing or two about being friendly with your ex and coparenting." During the same episode, Kourtney Kardashian revealed her mother and father, who finalized their divorce in 1991, were her inspiration for maintaining a friendship with ex Scott Disick. "I know with my parents, as soon as everyone got along, life was so much easier. It felt like everyone was happy," Kourtney, who shares sons Mason and Reign and daughter Penelope with Disick, explained. Khloé Kardashian and Kylie Jenner have followed in their mother and sister's footsteps with respective exes Tristan Thompson and Travis Scott. "I definitely take a lot of learning [and] tips from Scott and Kourtney," Khloé, who shares daughter True with Thompson, told Us Weekly exclusively in 2019. "They do such a seamless job at it." Following Kylie and Scott's 2019 split, an insider told Us that there was no awkwardness between Stormi's parents. "There's no animosity, no ill will or any negative feelings at all right now. They are both putting aside any romantic differences to be the best parents in the world for their daughter. Kylie has followed the same footsteps as her sisters Khloe and Kourtney in that respect," the insider said in 2019. Scroll through for a guide of the Kardashian-Jenner's relationships with their exes — from French Montana to Adrienne Bailon: ![]() Us Weekly confirmed that the pair called it quits after six years of marriage in February 2021. The news came one month after Us reported that Kardashian and West were in settlement talks after she put lawyer Laura Wasser on "retainer" in the summer of 2020. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star filed for divorce, Us confirmed, with TMZ reporting that they sought joint legal and physical custody of their four children. Kardashian and the Grammy winner tied the knot in Italy in May 2014. They welcomed their first daughter, North, nearly one year earlier. The couple also share son Saint, born in 2015, daughter Chicago, born in 2018, and son Psalm, born in 2019. Courtesy of Kim Kardashian/Instagram ![]() While Khloé’s relationship with the rapper didn’t work out in 2014, Montana maintained a close relationship with the entire family. "Me and Khloé are always going to be friends, and the family still remains close,” the musician told Haute Living in 2019. "I feel like we had a real dope relationship―there was no bad blood, nobody did something to somebody that we couldn’t come back from. The love was real. When the love was like that, it’s always going to be like that. Friendship after a relationship is something that’s real hard to do, and I’m glad we’ve been able to do it." Montana is often spotted at Kardashian family get-togethers, including Kourtney’s 40th birthday party in September 2019. Shutterstock ![]() While things between Khloé and Thompson ended on a sour note after he cheated on her for the second time in February 2019, she made an effort to stay on good terms with him for the sake of their daughter, True. Kim also stepped up to befriend the NBA player after publicly slamming him for his infidelities. “He's like, honestly, so nice," Kim said of Thompson in a deleted scene from season 18 of KUWTK in 2020. "Like, he's really nice. He's really trying, really hard. And it's been a full year of him as a different person." The Skims cofounder added in March 2020 via Twitter that she loves the athlete “like a brother.” While Thompson and Kardashian reunited amid the coronavirus pandemic in August 2020, they split again in June 2021. In January 2022, Thompson confirmed he had cheated on Kardashian again and fathered a son, born the month prior, with Maralee Nichols. Shutterstock ![]() It’s no secret that Khloé dropped everything to help her ex-husband after his 2015 overdose. While they finalized their divorce the following year, the Good American designer publicly supported the basketball player after he released his memoir in 2019. Khloé also spoke about their relationship on KUWTK at the time. “I miss him all the time, but not in a place where I want to get back with him,” she said. “So, he called me and he was like, ‘I just knew we were all gonna talk again at some point. I’m just so happy.’ He was like, ‘I would love to see you. I’ve been dying to see you in person. I just feel like we have so much to talk about.'” While Odom previously said that he wanted to reconnect with Khloé romantically, the Dancing With the Stars alum concluded in 2019 that they are “meant” to be friends. He proposed to Sabrina Parr later that year. Shutterstock ![]() After dating on and off for a decade, Kourtney and Disick called it quits in 2015. While a source told Us in June 2020 that Disick is “always flirting” with Kourtney — especially after his split from Sofia Richie — it’s not likely they will get back together. “Scott is so happy that he and Kourtney get along so well and how easy it is with her. It’s weird to everyone else, but not to them. They are really like best friends,” the insider said. “The family also loves him and he’s like another son to Kris.” During an interview with Us in 2019, Disick opened up about his relationship with Kourtney. “Just because their mother and I couldn’t make it as a perfect, romantic couple shouldn’t have anything to do with the kids,” he told Us. “They don’t deserve our mistakes, so we figured out a way.” Courtesy of Kourtney Kardashian/Instagram ![]() Kourtney and Bendjima split in 2018 after two years of dating, but that didn’t stop them from spending time together. “Kourtney likes having Younes around because they have great sexual chemistry and it’s fun for her,” a source told Us in April 2019.“ She thinks he’s young and hot and has a great body and she’s in control of the situation. She has a much more refined approach to everything in her life, in terms of business and taking care of her kids and coparenting with Scott. Shutterstock ![]() After the twosome split in October 2019, Kylie confirmed that there was no animosity between them. “Travis and I are on great terms and our main focus right now is Stormi,” she tweeted at the time. “Our friendship and our daughter is priority.” A source previously told Us that they’re “great partners” in life. “They love each other and they share a daughter that will bind them together for life,” the source said. Kylie proved that the duo are on good terms by quarantining with Scott amid the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Shutterstock ![]() The model’s on-again, off-again relationship with the NBA star started in 2018. Fast-forward two years and the twosome continue to straddle the line between friends and dating. “They both like having a no-strings-attached type of relationship with each other, for the most part,” a source told Us in February 2020. “They both work and travel frequently and don’t find it very realistic to be in an exclusive relationship with one another. They do really like each other though and love spending time together.” Neil Warner/MEGA ![]() Kourtney may have briefly dated the Instagram influencer in 2018, but that didn’t stop Kendall from maintaining a friendship with Sabbat. “Kendall and Luka are friends and have been forever,” a source told Us in February 2020. “Luka is still so close with Kendall and her family, even after his fling with Kourtney, and it’s because he’s such a fun, down to earth, cool guy.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() When Disick started dating Richie, the model’s longtime friendship with Kylie was seemingly strained. After Disick got on better terms with Kourtney, however, Richie and Kylie’s relationship picked up right where it left off. “Kylie and Sofia have always run in the same circle and are very close in age, so they’ve bonded a lot through the years,” an insider told Us in 2019. “They’ve always been in the limelight, lived very similar lifestyles and grown up around a lot of the same people. They’ve gotten a lot closer as of late now that the Kourtney, Scott and Sofia drama has died down. Once any drama between Kourtney and Sofia blew over, Kylie felt more comfortable spending girl time with Sofia again.” And while Disick and Richie split in May 2020, her friendship with the Kylie Cosmetics CEO didn’t suffer. “Sofia and Kylie are still friends and their friendship hasn’t been affected by her breakup with Scott,” a second source told Us at the time. “They have had a super close relationship for a while and Sofia hasn’t done anything wrong to make their friendship be jeopardized.” Courtesy Sofia Richie/Instagram ![]() The former Disney star’s romance with Rob didn’t work out in 2010, but she found a friend for life in Kourtney. “When I broke up with Rob Kardashian, my breakup buddy was his sister Kourtney,” Balion said on The Real in 2017. “I was definitely more the sad one crying at home and she was like, ‘No girl, we are going to go out. We’re going to hit the clubs in Hollywood. We’re going to have so much fun!’” Two years later, Kourtney made a guest appearance on The Real. While Kim’s friendship with Bailon was rocky after the actress said being “stuck with that Kardashian label” hurt her career during an interview with Latina magazine, the drama proved to be water under the bridge by 2018. "North's obsession,” Kim captioned a video of her eldest daughter watching the Cheetah Girls in 2018. “Should I break the news that to North that this could have been her auntie?!?!?!" Bailon replied at the time, "Just woke up to this! Lol. Hysterical! Cheetahlicious!" Shutterstock (3) |
Jessica Alba and Cash Warren’s Most Honest Quotes About Their Relationship Posted: 04 Jan 2022 11:16 AM PST It's not all sunshine and roses. Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have been vocal about how they try and keep their spark alive while raising three children — and it's not always easy. The couple met while working on 2004's Fantastic Four, which Alba starred in as Susan Storm and Warren was a production assistant. After dating for nearly four years, the duo tied the knot in May 2008. The Pair of Thieves cofounder reflected on their spur-of-the-moment decision to get hitched in 2019 while honoring his wife on their 11-year anniversary. Warren noted that the choice to get married came one month before they welcomed their first child, daughter Honor, in June 2008. "Prior to that day, neither of us thought marriage was important … it felt outdated and we weren't going to fall for an antiquated social construction," Warren wrote via Instagram in May 2019 of the last-minute nuptials. "But something changed in us that morning." The father of three — the pair also share daughter Haven and son Hayes, born in 2011 and 2017, respectively — added that their quick wedding was just the right fit for them as a family. "11 years and 3 kids later, we're still learning, growing, giggling and loving," he added. "Here's to a lifetime of pushing each other to be the best versions of ourselves and catching each other when we fall." Over the years, the Into the Blue actress and her longtime love have made parenting a priority, but they have also focused on keeping their love alive. "After we had Honor, we definitely scheduled date nights, which sounds like it's not romantic. But our lives are so hectic that we said, 'Every Wednesday, this is going to happen,'" the actress told Refinery29 in August 2019. "Now, we have Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night blocked out where we don't do any kind of work. We might go to the movies one night, we have one family dinner night where everyone helps out, and usually one of those nights is just me and Cash." Two years later, the L.A.'s Finest star revealed that her husband sometimes "get the short end of the stick" when it comes to her time. "And it’s not even him, I would say it’s us,” Alba explained during a July 2021 appearance on Katherine Schwarzenegger's Instagram show, Before, During and After Baby. “When I’m seeing him and spending time with him and we’re really enjoying each other, it’s an ‘us’ thing and it feeds me as well. It’s hard. It’s impossible.” The Honest Company founder noted that her marriage is a "life journey" that she and Warren are committed to working on no matter how hard things may get. "If you’re both every day deciding to do it, it’s gonna work out, regardless of the drama, regardless of anything that happens. If you’re both like, ‘I want to figure this out,’ nothing can really break that," Alba added. "The second one of you is checked out then it’s a one-sided relationship. Because you’re not always gonna be on the same page, and you’re not always gonna grow at the same pace.” Scroll down to see Alba and Warren's most-telling quotes about their dynamic: ![]() “Right after I met [Cash], I called my best friend and was like, ‘I met this guy and I feel like I’ve known him forever and I’m gonna know him for the rest of my life,’” Alba revealed during the September 2010 issue of Cosmopolitan. “The romantic stuff comes and goes, but it’s like, ‘Does that person have your back?’ You have to be a team navigating through wherever life may lead you and I want a friend for that.” Picture Perfect/Shutterstock ![]() “Whenever I doubt myself for a second, he’s the first one to come up and say, ‘You can do this, I believe in you,'” the Fantastic Four actress exclusively told Us Weekly when her company first launched in 2011 of her husband’s unwavering support. “I don’t know what I’d do without him there. And he’s so good with the kids. We’re really happy.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() “I just knew when I met him that I was going to know him forever. It was weird; he instantly felt like family. It was so easy. I’d never felt like that with anyone,” Alba told InStyle during her February 2013 cover story. “I was usually pretty self-conscious, minding my p’s and q’s, very aware of every time my fork hit the plate when I was having dinner on a date. With him, there was none of that. We got each other. We’re kindred spirits.” Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() “You have to be structured about carving out time for yourself and your relationship,” the Never Been Kissed actress said during her April 2018 Redbook cover shoot. “I like to go hard. That effort level where you’re pushing yourself to the limit is almost meditative.” Alba explained that she would “always try to get home from work for bath time and to cuddle the kids before bed. After that, Cash and I have dinner together and talk about our days. I need us time all the time.” Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() While celebrating the couple’s anniversary in May 2019, Warren reflected on the “awkward” way their nuptials came to be. “11 years ago ... we were lying in bed having one of those amazing lazy mornings where we we’d do nothing. You were 9 months pregnant with Honor and we were so excited to meet her in the coming weeks,” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “Not sure who thought of it first but the decision we made that day would forever change the course of our lives. We hopped up, got dressed and drove straight to the courthouse.” The Being Terry Kennedy executive producer noted that it “wasn’t the dream wedding you deserved. In fact, it was laughably awkward. Standing under an arch of dusty plastic flowers in the courthouse chapel, we held hands and said I Do.” He remembered not having any friends or family by their side as they tied the knot, but it didn’t matter. “Just you, me and the courthouse employee who served as our witness. We walked out holding hands, giggling with excitement and a touch of nervousness,” he continued. “I remember opening the car door for you and as you climbed in, calling you ‘Mrs. Warren’ for the first time.” Courtesy of Cash Warren/Instagram ![]() The Sin City actress gushed over her man on their 11-year anniversary in May 2019. “#Us #11yearsmarried my @cash_warren ❤️, my best friend, my everything,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “We are better together — the life we dreamt of and manifested together is beyond anything I could have imagined. I love you with my whole self... we got this #rideordie por vida #happyanniversary.” Courtesy of Jessica Alba/Instagram ![]() During a joint interview on “The Skinny Confidential Him & Her” podcast in May 2019, the duo argued over whether onscreen sex scenes were a perk of the job as an actor. Alba called the whole thing “disgusting,” while Warren joked about how nice it would be to get intimate with someone else on camera. “There’s no way hooking up with someone else is not fun. You’re still having fun, that dude’s a stud. There’s no way you’re not gonna enjoy hooking up with him,” the Los Angeles native said. “I would be an actor just to have that moment.” The Flipper alum, however, had a difference of opinion, saying, “That’s the difference between me and you. It’s just disgusting most of the time because they are usually a stranger.” Warren fired back, “Even more fun. No way.” Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() “One thing that Jessica and I are 100 percent aligned on is that we’re not raising a–holes,” Warren said in the June 2020 issue of Drew + Scott Reveal magazine. “If they get out of line, we’re not going to stand for it. We’ve tried to maintain the values our parents taught us.” Alba seconded her husband’s remarks, adding, “I don’t shy away from setting boundaries and routines. They have to make their beds. They have to set the table, clear the table — those are no-brainers, right? They participate in taking care of the home and themselves.” Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() The Dark Angel alum got real about the ups and downs in her marriage during a July 2021 appearance on Schwarzenegger’s Instagram show, Before, During and After Baby. "It's all rosy for two and a half years. But then after that you become roommates," Alba said, laughing. "You're just going through the motions. You have the responsibilities; it's a lot of, like, checking the boxes, right?" The actress explained that her and Warren’s romantic bond has at times become their last priority, despite trying to make time for weekly date nights. "We have, like, obviously the friendship, the comfort of, like, 'You're not going anywhere,' and so sometimes you don't treat those people the best, right?” she added. “You don't consider their feelings in the way that you would consider other people's feelings. So that is something that I think is a constant one to work on." Anthony Harvey/Shutterstock |
Zach Braff Pens Loving Birthday Note to 'Beautiful Human' Florence Pugh Posted: 04 Jan 2022 10:49 AM PST Met their matches. Zach Braff and Florence Pugh have been forced to defend their relationship more than once, but their connection is undeniable. The Scrubs alum and the Oscar nominee first sparked dating rumors in April 2019 when they were spotted holding hands in New York City. The PDA followed their collaboration on his 2019 short film, In the Time It Takes to Get There. The couple left hints about their status on social media in the months that followed, but they did not confirm it until December 2019. Pugh clapped back at a troll who called out the age difference between her and Braff — she is 20 years his junior — at the time. She later revealed how the negative perception surrounding the relationship affected her. "I have the right to hang out and be with and go out with anyone I want to," she explained in her June 2020 Elle UK cover story. "I've always found this part of what people do really bizarre. I'm an actor because I like acting and I don't mind people watching my stuff, but people have no right to educate me on my private life." Pugh noted that she and Braff largely keep their personal lives out of the public eye — even going so far as to attend events, such as the December 2019 premiere of her film Little Women, separately. "I know that part of being in the spotlight is that people might invade your privacy and have opinions on it, but it's bizarre that normal folk are allowed to display such hate and opinions on a part of my life that I'm not putting out there," she said. She added: "It's a strange side of fame that you're allowed to be torn apart by thousands of people even though you didn't put that piece of you out there. My point to all this is that isn't it odd that a stranger can totally tear apart someone's relationship and it's allowed?" Braff, for his part, admitted in a November 2020 interview with MR PORTER that he "chose not to" respond to the trolls because he could not come up with anything as "intelligent and articulate" as the actress' remarks. Despite some people being against them, the pair have continued to support each other and have even occasionally given fans small glimpses into their life together. Scroll through the gallery below to revisit Braff and Pugh's relationship! ![]() The actor shared his admiration for the Little Women star via Twitter. “I watched an incredible film last night that I cannot stop thinking about: ‘Lady Macbeth’ starring @Florence_Pugh,” he wrote. “Beautifully directed, shot, acted etc. It’s very upsetting, so be forewarned. Florence is a movie star.” (He also began “liking” her Instagram posts around the same time.) April 6th and we’re celebrating hard!” she raved via Instagram. “Happy Birthday wishes, boogies and cheers for this special person. Raise those bubbles and jiggle!” Days later, she fired back at naysayers in an Instagram video, calling out the “abuse” and “bullying” over their age difference in the comments of her original post. “I’m 24 years old. I have been working since I was 17, I’ve been earning money since I was 17. I became an adult when I was 18. … I am 24 years old,” she said. “I do not need you to tell me who I should and should not love. And I would never in my life, ever, tell anyone who they can and cannot love.” She continued: “It is not your place and really it has nothing to do with you. If those rules are something you do not like, please unfollow me. The abuse you throw at him is the abuse you throw at me, and I do not want those followers.” Courtesy of Florence Pugh/Instagram ![]() The couple adopted a dog named Billie. “Officially adopted, Billie. What a gift to the world it was that you were born.” Courtesy of Zach Braff/Instagram ![]() The two sparked rumors in January 2021 that they had secretly wed after a friend referred to the Midsommar star as “FPB.” However, the pal later deleted the extra letter from his Instagram post and clarified that the “B” referred to a nickname, not Braff. “They are not married,” he claimed. Speculation ramped up again in March 2021 when Braff was spotted wearing a ring on his left hand. Shutterstock (2) ![]() “It’s this magical persons [sic] birthday. A year ago we got Billie three days before Zach’s day and she’s flopped on her back for tummy tickles from him like this ever since. A special day for a special fella requires special foot wear and fluffy trackies.. obvi,” Pugh wrote via Instagram on Braff’s 46th birthday. “His need to make people laugh and smile is never ending, his constant generosity and love for others is infectious, his creativity and ability to put real and honest words onto the page inspires many and all who’s around him, but above all.. his appreciation for life and excitement for LIVING is something I always take note of. Happy Birthday chicken, odd shoes is a good look.” Courtesy of Florence Pugh/Instagram ![]() Pugh defended her relationship in an interview with the U.K.’s Sunday Times, noting that social media users have come after her in the past after she’s posted about Braff. "I think it bugs people that it's not who they expected," she said. "But it's my life and I'm not doing anything to please people or to make it a better headline or story. I want to also be a person!” She continued, “I am 24 years old. John Hersey 'Couldn't Be Happier' With GF Katie Thurston: See B-Day Tribute Posted: 04 Jan 2022 10:48 AM PST Even Katie Thurston didn't know what she was promising when she declared her Bachelorette ending was a "first" for the franchise. After appearing on season 25 of The Bachelor, which aired in early 2021, ABC named the Washington native their season 17 star. She subsequently started filming in Palm Springs and met 30 contestants, including bartender John Hersey. She sent the California native home during week two of the competition. Blake Moynes, who originally competed on season 16 of The Bachelorette in 2020, joined the cast when there were 14 men remaining. The Canada native admitted that he reached out to Thurston while Matt James' season was airing and felt like they would have a connection. After two of Thurston's top four quit — Greg Grippo and Michael Allio — she gave Moynes her final rose, sending home Justin Glaze. Thurston and Moynes' proposal aired on the August 2021 finale of The Bachelorette. The twosome told Us Weekly at the time that they weren't in a rush to move in together as they navigated their post-show future. By October, she admitted to Us that the twosome were "winging" things as Moynes traveled to Africa for work. "The short version is we're figuring it out. We don't know. This is very new to us still. I'm just focusing on myself, he's focusing on him, and if we work doing that, great. If not —” Thurston told Us before trailing off backstage at Whitney Cummings' comedy show. Days after the performance, Thurston and Moynes announced their engagement was over. She subsequently told her Instagram followers that the twosome "owe it to each other to step away" from their relationship because it wasn't working. "We were together for six months [and] Blake and I are very level-headed and mature, and we communicate very well on our thoughts," Thurston told fans on October 31, 2021. "And we just both knew if this was how our first six months was as a couple, going forward it was going to not be in our best interest for our happiness to stay together." Moynes, for his part, admitted things haven't "been easy" for him as he returned to social media post-split on November 9, 2021. Later that month, Us broke the news that Thurston was seeing Hersey. Her rep later confirmed the news via a statement: "It's known Katie and John became close friends post-season. John has been there for her through all the major changes in her life, and they are excited to explore this newly found romantic connection." Scroll through for a complete timeline of her relationship with Hersey: ![]() During night one of Thurston’s season, which filmed in March 2021, she admitted that Hersey was her “type” when he walked out of the limo. By week two, however, she sent him packing. ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() In May 2021, Thurston nearly ran into Hersey at a San Diego beach with friends. “John is surfing on this exact beach — very, very randomly, a rose floats by in the water. And he's like, ‘That's incredibly strange.’ … Just a very strange occurrence,” the duo’s mutual friend Stephen Lovegrove later recalled on Us’ “Here for the Right Reasons” podcast in September 2021. “He surfs, he goes home, we take photos, we get ice cream, we go home. And later that afternoon, John sees from Katie's account, all these photos go up and realizes as he was surfing with this random rose floating by, he was literally 100 feet away from the Bachelorette, who he had just filmed this season [with]. It was such a random coincidence that we didn't find out about till a long time later.” During that trip, Thurston was also spotted at Duke’s in La Jolla, where Hersey was a bartender. As her season aired in summer 2021, there was a fan theory that she got back together with Hersey due to the photos from the bar. “Through all of that speculation, at some point, I reached out to John and made a joke about I hope you and Katie are doing so well,” Lovegrove told Us. “And anyway, our friendship was born out of all of that. But yes, the Duke’s trip that threw off every spoiler page by total accident happened in the midst of the now-infamous San Diego trip [that sparked the love triangle with Alana Milne, Chris Conran and Jessenia Cruz on Bachelor in Paradise], as well.” ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() Despite his early departure, Hersey was always team Thurston, defending her after she accused finalist Greg Grippo of gaslighting her during their messy split on an August episode. “I watched [Monday] night's episode and was shocked by some of the behavior I witnessed, namely the words and body language exhibited by Greg,” Hersey wrote via Instagram Stories at the time. "Watching these actions get defended (and therefore normalized) strikes me as extremely unhealthy and a step in the wrong direction.” He added: "An individual can be a good friend to some while simultaneously being harmful to others in another relationship. Reality Romance! Blake Horstmann Is Dating Love Is Blind's Giannina Gibelli Posted: 04 Jan 2022 10:32 AM PST ![]() A crossover romance! Bachelor Nation’s Blake Horstmann is dating Love Is Blind season 1 star Giannina Gibelli, Us Weekly confirms. The Colorado native, 32, and the Netflix personality, 28, are “keeping things private” as they explore their connection, a source tells Us. Eagle-eyed social media users began to wonder whether a relationship was brewing between the reality stars after they appeared to upload a handful of photos from similar locations, including A5 Steakhouse in Denver, which they both recently tagged in their respective Instagram Stories. Some fans went even further to connect the dots, spotting Blake’s bathroom and patio furniture in some of Giannina’s Instagram uploads. The new couple also seemed to pose in front of similar wooden barrels while ringing in 2022. “Repeat after me: I am about to walk into the best year of my life,” the Venezuela native captioned a photo after New Year’s Day, standing in a chic white gown — which some followers believed they saw in the background of one of Blake’s recent Instagram Stories — and black gloves. The Bachelor in Paradise alum, for his part, asked his fans to share their new year’s resolutions with him, adding, “2022 is gonna be the best year in a while Giannina’s Love Is Blind costar Kelly Chase wished Blake a Happy New Year in the comments. Longtime viewers of the Bachelor franchise recognize Blake from his time on season 14 of The Bachelorette, where he was Becca Kufrin‘s runner-up. She ended her journey engaged to Garrett Yrigoyen, but the pair announced their split in September 2020. Following the end of his ex’s engagement, Blake told Us why he thought some members of Bachelor Nation were “still shipping” him and Becca, 31, after the duo raised eyebrows with flirty social media exchanges. “The way [she] and Garrett ended — I think people just want to see me and Becca happy, which is a compliment, like, it means a lot,” the “Behind the Rose” podcast host noted in March 2021. “It really, really does. We’re close friends and everything. And we’re, like, always gonna have each other’s back and care for each other.” Five months later, Blake admitted that he “always thought” Becca and Garrett, 32, were meant to be — and confessed that he was “back in touch” with the Minnesota native before she met current boyfriend Thomas Jacobs on season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise, which began airing in August 2021. Giannina, for her part, got engaged to Damian Powers during the 2020 debut season of Love Is Blind. In the final episode, Damian, 30, said he couldn’t go through with the wedding, but the twosome still attempted to make their relationship work. By the time the season 1 cast reunited to film last year’s Love Is Blind: After the Altar special, Giannina told E! News they “weren’t in a good place.” The reality stars eventually called it quits after Damian was linked to Too Hot to Handle‘s Francesca Farago in August 2020. (He denied the dating rumors at the time.) One year later, Giannina hinted that she was ready to move on. “I’m happy, I’ve been just kind of traveling, living my life, living a nomad life and just seeing where the world is going to take me next,” she told E! News. “Someone said I should go for a soccer player. So, any soccer players who are European and can handle a little spice [I’m ready for]. I love watching football.” With reporting by Diana Cooper |
Meghan King Claps Back About 'What's Good' for Her After Cuffe Owens Split Posted: 04 Jan 2022 10:32 AM PST ![]() Not holding back. After her followers questioned her choice to stay active on social media amid her split from Cuffe Owens, Meghan King shut down the advice about how she should deal with the major life change. The reality star, 37, took to social media to share a glimpse at her yoga routine in an Instagram video posted on Monday, January 3, writing, “Warrior your way through your first day back to real life in 2022. It’s gonna be OK. We will do this even if we look or feel silly at times and even if the world is watching. We are I. This together. I love you.” Some of King’s fans were quick to point out in the comments section that they didn’t expect her to be so candid following her breakup from Owens, 42. One social media user replied, “So many people made so many mean comments towards you. In 2022, work on being KIND folks. We are all doing our best to figure this thing called life out. Wishing you and your family all the best Meghan.” Another follower wrote in response, “Except she is trying to figure out for likes … she needs to heal and get off social media.” King, for her part, shut down the criticism, asking, “How about I decide what’s good for me and you follow along or don’t?” The Real Housewives of Orange County alum’s comment comes shortly after she confirmed she and Owens called it quits. “I am rattled. This situation is profoundly devastating,” King wrote in an Instagram Story statement on December 27. “This is obviously not what I imagined when I made my vows — and I’m shocked and saddened by the way things turned out. I am moving forward with my children as we privately process our pain and begin to let go of shattered dreams.” She continued: “At this time I ask for your grace and gentle kindness as I navigate this labyrinth of grief with my family.” King, who tied the knot with Owens in October after just three weeks of dating, has since been spending quality time with her daughter Aspen, 5, and twin sons Hayes and Hart, 3, in Florida. After news of their split made headlines, a source revealed to Us Weekly that there were issues that “ultimately put strain on the marriage.” “They didn’t really get the chance to know each other,” the insider added. “She was hoping for this fairy-tale life with him, but it was far from it.” The Missouri native, who shares her kids with ex-husband Jim Edmonds, noted to Us, “We spent every day together. There was no time apart since we met.” Ahead of her nuptials with Owens, King opened up about her search for “a life partner” following her divorce from Edmonds, 51. “Let’s be honest, like, to be in a rush might not be the smartest decision. I definitely just enjoy my time and I don’t feel like I have to do anything quote unquote by the book anymore,” the TV personality told Us in May 2021. “So I feel really comfortable with who I am, where I stand and I don’t need, you know, paperwork to tell me who I love.” |
Tristan Thompson Confirms Son With Maralee Nichols: 5 Things to Know Posted: 04 Jan 2022 09:42 AM PST Focusing on her little one. Amid her public paternity lawsuit against Tristan Thompson, Maralee Nichols has made it clear that her only concern continues to be the well-being of her newborn. Nichols first made headlines when she alleged that the professional basketball player was the father of her baby. The NBA player acknowledged that he hooked up with Nichols in the past in response to the July 2021 court filing. However, Thompson requested genetic testing to prove that he had fathered a child with Nichols after their meeting that March. As the legal battle continued late last year, Us Weekly broke the news in December 2021 that Nichols gave birth to a baby boy. That same month, Nichols broke her silence about the lawsuit in an effort to “defend her character.” In a lengthy statement, the new mom claimed that the Canada native initially told her that he was “not having a sexual relationship with anyone else” when they met. She noted that their relationship was “not casual sex,” adding, “Tristan and I communicated daily and talked on the phone. We would see each other several times a month." At the time, Nichols detailed Thompson inviting her to see him on Christmas, New Years and his birthday in March. The former Cleveland Cavaliers player was dating Khloé Kardashian, with whom he shares 3-year-old daughter True, at the time of his alleged interactions with Nichols. Nichols explained that she "did everything possible not to draw attention to my pregnancy and the issues with Tristan," including a brief from social media. "I wanted to keep my pregnancy private and as peaceful as possible. I have never sought media attention for my pregnancy, and I wish that I did not even have to send this statement," she wrote in her statement to Us. Thompson, who is also the father of 5-year-old son with ex Jordan Craig, went on to publicly acknowledge that he is the father of Nichols’ baby. "Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions," he wrote via Instagram Stories on Monday, January 3. "Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son." In his response to the genetic testing, the Sacramento Kings player issued an apology to Kardashian as well, writing, "Khloé, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years.” He continued: "My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry." Nichols, for her part, responded through her attorney to Thompson’s public statement, saying “There was never any doubt that Tristan Thompson was the father.” The California resident went on to add, "Tristan made numerous false and defamatory statements and declarations about Maralee over the past few months, and she is taking his contrite statement today in the context of all of those statements." Kardashian-Jenner Family’s Biggest Controversies and Scandals Posted: 04 Jan 2022 09:34 AM PST All the drama! Over the years, the Kardashian-Jenner family has made headlines for the ups and downs that occurred in their personal and professional lives. Kim Kardashian‘s marriage to Kris Humphries went viral in 2011 after they called it quits 72 days after saying “I do.” Humphries filed for an annulment in November 2011, citing “fraud” as the reason. The following year, Humphries defended getting caught up in their whirlwind romance. "To me it was real," he said during an interview with Access Hollywood in February 2012. "I would never go through something and do something that wasn't real or I didn't believe in, so I can really only speak for myself in terms of that." The KKW beauty mogul, for her part, moved on with Kanye West in 2012 and went on to have four children with the musician. Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021, after almost seven years of marriage. That same year, the reality star recalled knowing that her relationship with Humphries wasn’t going to work ahead of their nuptials. "I felt pressure, I thought I was going to let everyone down," the Skims founder said during the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion in June 2021. "The show paid us, obviously, a fee to film the show. I took my entire fee and probably Kris' [fee] because I wanted a bigger wedding than what they were going to pay for. So I used all of our production money on the wedding. So, if that was, like, fake, I would have saved my money!" Kardashian noted that she "handled it totally the wrong way" when it came to how she addressed her relationship issues with her ex-husband. "He's very faith-based, and so, I'm sure he would have loved to not have marriage on his record," she added. "He wanted an annulment. The only legal way to get an annulment is if fraud is involved, so he marked fraud to get an annulment. So the whole world wondered, 'What is this fraud?' … If I was mature, I would have wanted the annulment too. I wish I was only married once." Kourtney Kardashian‘s romantic life has also had its fair share of rocky moments after she started dating Scott Disick in 2006. The duo, who share three children, called it quits in 2015 after the Flip It Like Disick star was photographed getting close with another woman. The California native later found happiness with longtime friend Travis Barker, with Us confirming that the pair were dating in January 2021. Disick went on to make headlines when he allegedly texted Younes Bendjima, who dated Kourtney from 2016 until 2018, about the public PDA between the KUWTK alum and the drummer. "Yo is this chick ok!????? Brooo like what is this. In the middle of Italy," Disick wrote to the model alongside a photo of Kourtney and Barker kissing in August 2021. In the screenshots, Bendjima replied, writing, "Don't matter to me as long as she's happy. PS: i aint your bro." The comments came two months after Disick said that he supported his ex-girlfriend’s new romance. "I think if you really love somebody, right, you want them to be happy no matter what. So I do give her a blessing to be happy," the New York native told Andy Cohen during the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion in June 2021. I felt humiliated.” Stefanie Keenan/Patrick McMullan via Getty Images ![]() Kylie came under fire as a teenager for getting lip injections to enhance her pout. She revealed in a September 2017 episode of Life of Kylie that she decided to modify her appearance after a former boyfriend told her, “I didn’t think you would be a good kisser because you have such small lips.” Years later, she launched her own makeup line, Kylie Cosmetics, which generated $420 million in retail sales in its first 18 months and eventually made her a billionaire. Meanwhile, Odom told Us exclusively in March 2017, “Bitches and THOTs came out of the woodwork. If there is one thing I regret when I was married, it was having multiple affairs with different women.
