Makeout mishap! Jamie Otis still remembers the moment she stopped Ben Flajnik from going in for a kiss on The Bachelor because he was coming in too hot.

The 35-year-old reality star exclusively told Us Weekly during a game of "Reality TV Regrets" that she doesn't feel bad about teaching Flajnik, 39, how to smooch, but it was a bold move.

"Oh, my goodness, I can't believe we're going there. That was literally a decade ago," Otis explained of the uncomfortable 2012 TV kiss. "I still blush over this. How could you not? I honestly have zero regrets."

The Bachelor Pad alum recalled the California native coming in toward her with his mouth wide open, which is why she put her hand out and directed him on national television.

"I was, like, so painfully awkward and weird. That's just who I am. I am still painfully awkward and weird," Otis said. "Back then, I would be so embarrassed about myself, and put myself down. But it's like, [you have to] come into your own. It's fine. We weren't meant to me."

The Wifey 101 author joked, "I don't like the way he kissed, obviously," adding that the failed romance "led me to my husband so I'm OK."

Flajnik, for his part, got engaged to Bachelor winner Courtney Robertson, but they called it quits in October 2012. Otis, on the other hand, found love on a different reality series, Married at First Sight, which premiered in 2014.

While the registered nurse went on to marry her TV match, Doug Hehner, she has mixed feelings about telling her now-husband that she wasn't attracted to him the first time they met.

"I have no regrets for saying that. I wouldn't have wanted to lie to him because we're filming a TV show," the mother of two, who shares daughter Henley, 4, and son Hendrix, 7 months, with Hehner, 38, told Us. "Obviously, I was on The Bachelor and that seemed very staged a bit to me. I thought going into Married at First Sight was different."

She recalled panicking on her wedding day because she "really put so much faith and trust in the experts" and was surprised by their choice for her initially.

"Why was I so shallow — and instantly [freaked out] when I saw him, [saying], like, 'No, that can't be true' — I don't know," the New York native admitted. "But you live and you learn. What I have learned is that brutal honesty is unnecessary."

Selling Tampa's Sharelle Rosado and Chad Johnson's Relationship Timeline

Posted: 08 Jan 2022 05:00 AM PST

Taking their love to the small screen. Fans were introduced to Sharelle Rosado‘s sweet romance with Chad Johnson when they appeared on Netflix’s Selling Tampa in December 2021.

When Johnson was only featured in a few scenes on the reality show, Rosado clarified that was on purpose, explaining why she chose to limit her personal life on screen.

"I didn't want people to think he was the reason why I got this show," the broker told Page Six at the time. "I wanted to focus on mainly my agents, myself and my business, and it's not about Chad right now. He has his own thing going on and he supports me from afar and the same here. I support him."

The former football player was previously married to Evelyn Lozada in 2012. After 41 days, Lozada filed for divorce when her then-husband was arrested on a domestic battery charge. At the time, the athlete pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 12 months of probation. He ultimately violated his probation and served 30 days in prison in 2013.

Lozada later revealed that she was on better terms with Johnson after the incident, telling Page Six in June 2019, "I am cool with Chad. We don't phone each other all the time, but if I see him, I don't have one ounce of hate in my heart for him."

She continued: "You have to be able to forgive people because I feel if I am walking around angry, it takes away from the person that I want to be."

Johnson, who is the father of eight children from previous relationships, got into a long-distance romance with Rosado two years later. After the couple went public, the Allure Realty founder announced that they were expecting a baby.

"It's with full hearts, a ton of joy and love to reveal we're expecting!" he told her Instagram followers in August 2021. "It's been so hard keeping this a secret but I'm excited to finally share the news with all of you! We're so blessed to have such amazing people in our lives and in our hearts. Looking forward to a future of fun, love and adventure."

Ahead of their little one’s arrival, the business owner candidly detailed their commitment to one another even though they aren’t always located in the same place.

"We still haven't decided [where we are going to settle down],” Rosado shared with Page Six in December 2021. "We have my house in Tampa and are building a house in Miami. We'll just travel back and forth — it's only a three hour drive."

One month later, Johnson confirmed the arrival of their first child together.

The Netflix personality revealed that she was the one to reach out to Johnson before they started dating. “I slid in his DMs. We used to tell — the joke was, we met on Christian Mingle, but I actually slid in his DMs,” Rosado shared during an episode of the "I Am Athlete" podcast. “He was always a crush of mine. Like for years. Sexy, tall, chocolate. That thang know he fine." The realtor recalled seeing her future fiancé at track meets when she went to support her daughters, adding, "I would see him. I didn’t say anything, but I slid into his DMs, and he responded like two seconds later. We exchanged numbers. He FaceTimed me right away, and then we just started talking.” Although the twosome both showed an interest in one another, Rosado noted that it took a few years for them to take the next step in their relationship, saying, "We were friends, and then I stopped talking to him. You never know what goes on between things. I don’t want to speak on that because I wasn’t there, but Chad is a great person," she said at the time. "People go through things, people make mistakes, and you learn from them. If you base things off of mistakes that people made, then you’ll never make it in life. Kim Kardashian Shares Photos From Bahamas Vacation With Pete Davidson

Posted: 07 Jan 2022 05:27 PM PST

Wish you were here! Kim Kardashian gave her fans a peek at her quick vacation to the Bahamas with Pete Davidson.

The reality star, 41, posted multiple Instagram Story photos and videos from the trip on Friday, January 7. The shots mostly showed off the picturesque beach, but there were a few fun things that could be spotted in the pics, including a pig running in the sand and a massive water slide sitting in the middle of the ocean.

Kardashian and Davidson, 28, were seen boarding a private jet on Monday, January 3, and getting off of a boat in the Bahamas on Wednesday, January 5. She turned heads on Thursday, January 6, when she shared a bikini selfie captioned, "Sweet sweet fantasy baby." Later that day, the pair were spotted arriving back in Los Angeles after the whirlwind trip.

"Kim and Pete wanted to spend this time together because they're both going to be working a lot during the coming months," a source told Us Weekly earlier this week. "Pete will be filming, and Kim is launching some new products, so they'll still be able to see each other, but this is the last time they'll be able to spend a lot of quality time together for a few months."

Kardashian and Davidson enjoyed time by the pool, embarked on boat rides and took a break from the real world during the getaway.

"Kim is so relaxed right now," the insider added. "Her divorce was a very tough time and now her life is brighter."

The KKW Beauty founder filed for divorce from Kanye West in February 2021 after six years of marriage. They are parents of daughter North, 8, son Saint, 6, daughter Chicago, 3, and son Psalm, 2.

Following the split, the Skims founder moved on with Davidson in October 2021. A source told Us in December 2021 that the duo were "getting serious" and "things have definitely escalated quickly but in a healthy, fun way."

The insider added, "Right now, they are just enjoying their time together and seeing where things go."

While Kardashian did not "want to rush into anything too serious" with the Saturday Night Live star, she was enjoying the "early stages" of their relationship.

Amid the growing connection between the two, a source confirmed to Us earlier this month that Davidson "bonded" with the aspiring lawyer's family, adding, "Kim and Pete are very in sync right now. They're very in step with each other and the relationship is easy. They're getting closer and closer and are a really great pair."

Celebrity Splits of 2022: Stars Who Broke Up This Year

Posted: 07 Jan 2022 04:18 PM PST

Calling it quits. It happens all the time, but the world never gets used to seeing celebrity couples break up. Chanel Iman and Sterling Shepard were among the stars who made headlines for their splits in 2022.

Us Weekly exclusively revealed in January that the model and the NFL star were "getting divorced," though they were "going to try and remain civil and friendly towards each other."

Divorce documents obtained by Us claimed that the pair were having marital issues as far back as December 2020.

"The parties have experienced irreconcilable differences [and the] differences have caused a break down in the marital relationship," the papers, which were filed in June 2021, read. "Said irreconcilable differences have existed for at least six months prior to the filing [of] this Complaint and there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation."

After Iman and Shepard welcomed daughter Cali in August 2018, he got real about balancing their parenting responsibilities and their relationship. (The duo also share daughter Cassie, whom they welcomed in December 2019.)

"It's honestly tough whenever you put a baby into the situation because you've got to still try to find time for each other and a lot of the focus goes onto the baby," he told Us in August 2019. "So that's the main thing is just me trying to carve out a little time in my schedule and her trying to carve out time in her schedule because we're both pretty busy. That's the toughest thing about it, but we find a way to get through it."

Another split that made news in 2022 was Joe and Bessy Gatto's, though they technically announced it in December 2021. The comedian revealed the separation in an Instagram post that also explained his exit from Impractical Jokers.

"Alongside my friends, I've devoted a decade of my life to building this franchise and couldn't be prouder of what has been accomplished," he wrote on New Year’s Eve in 2021. "However, due to some issues in my personal life, I have to step away. Bessy and I have decided to amicably part ways, so now I need to focus on being the best father and co-parent to our two incredible kids."

Bessy, for her part, addressed the breakup in her own Instagram post. "With love and respect, we have decided to separate. Although we will no longer be a couple, we will always be a family to our beautiful kids and we look forward to co-parenting together," she noted. "We ask that you please respect our privacy as we navigate this new chapter together. And of course we will still continue to help animals and rescue dogs, which is something we are both passionate about!"

"The overall message is that if ur in a toxic relationship, get out of it cuz u never know who or what could be waiting on the other side,” the Uncut Gems actress, 31, told New York magazine’s The Cut in an interview published on Friday, January 7.

Before meeting the Grammy winner, 44, Fox was married to Peter Artemiev, whom she wed in 2018. Us Weekly confirmed that the pilot filed for divorce from the actress in February 2020, and the proceedings were finalized in July of that year. In January 2021, the duo welcomed son Valentino, now 11 months.

Last year, the No Sudden Move star called Artemiev a “deadbeat dad” in an Instagram Story. “This man left me with a 5 month old and a dog and a home and ALL THE BILLS. It's wrong!!! It's not fair," Fox claimed in December 2021. "He 1000 percent intentionally got me pregnant, It's a blessing. I'm happy about it. I would not change it.”

Her ex, for his part, denied her accusations in a statement to Page Six, saying, "I was saddened to learn of the utterly false statements made on social media by Julia Fox, my coparent, who is clearly struggling. Out of respect for her privacy and to protect our child, I will not comment further."

Speaking to The Cut, Fox admitted she now regrets calling out Artemiev, adding that she didn’t expect her posts to gain so much attention. “My son's father and I had our issues and I wanted to scare him into being a better dad, but I went about it the wrong way,” she explained. “My son's dad loves his son more than anything in the world. He just has some issues that I shouldn't have made public."

Fox and the “Stronger” rapper have only been linked since New Year’s Eve, but the duo have already appeared in an Interview magazine photo shoot together. In the accompanying article, the Day by Day star said she felt an “instant connection” with West after they met in Miami on December 31.

The duo later met up in New York City, where they had dinner at Carbone. After the meal, the Yeezy designer surprised Fox with a hotel room full of clothes for her to try.

"I mean, I'm still in shock," she gushed to Interview on Thursday, January 6. "It was every girl's dream come true. It felt like a real Cinderella moment.”

Fox told The Cut that she realizes the duo’s romance is happening “so quickly,” but she’s trying to let it develop organically. “I'm going with the universe and the flow and seeing where it takes me," she added.

“They’ve been dating for a few months now," a source exclusively tells Us. "They secretly have been on a few getaways together. They both love to travel.”

The Blue Crush star, 39, and the Accepted actor, 43, are "not hiding the fact that they're together," the insider explains, noting that the twosome are "just staying low-key and private about their relationship."

The couple initially sparked romance speculation after working together on a film last spring.

"There are some movie experiences when you learn a lotttttt about another person. Well, we just wrapped one of those — all night shoots, working 6-day weeks," Bosworth wrote via Instagram in May 2021 alongside photos of herself and Long and adventuring around Fayetteville, Arkansas. "The exhaustion & insanity was off the grid. Holy moly @justinlong you are a truly spectacular / fun / funny / kind / rare / thoughtful / totally. fckn. rad human being."

The Remember the Titans actress thanked Long for "lifting us up" on set and keeping it "light and full of laughter daily." She added, "You gnome how much I love ya 💛 (sorry had to ;)," referencing the gnome artwork throughout the town.

The duo were later spotted getting cozy at a deli in Fairfield, Connecticut, which is Long's hometown, according to a fan sighting.

Bosworth has since "liked" a variety of Long's social media posts, including a November 2021 photo of the F Is for Family actor making "the traditional Thanksgiving hummus" and a December 2021 snap of him sitting on Santa's lap.

The Bring on the Dancing Horses actress was spotted without her wedding ring in June 2021 and announced two months later that she and Polish, 51, had called it quits. The estranged pair tied the knot in 2013.

"Our hearts are full, as we have never been so enamored and deeply grateful for one another as we do in this decision to separate," Bosworth wrote via Instagram in August 2021. "Together, over the last ten years, Michael and I have chosen love, every time. We hold hands as tightly today as we entangled fingers on our wedding day."

While speaking with guest Fortune Feimster about her love of pineapple pizza, Long referred to his mystery girlfriend for what appeared to be the first time.

“People have been saying [pineapple] lately and it’s funny my girlfriend said that hers is uhh — she loves the pineapple, too," the Jeepers Creepers actor said. "I’ve never been with anyone who likes pineapple on pizza.”

Pump Rules' Raquel Details James Split for 1st Time, Reveals When It Ended

Posted: 07 Jan 2022 01:26 PM PST

Speaking her truth. Raquel Leviss opened up about her split from James Kennedy for the first time on Friday, January 7, sharing details about when it was truly over between them.

"My intentions with this podcast are not to bash James in any way," the 27-year-old Bravo personality told Vanderpump Rules costar Scheana Shay on the Friday episode of her "Scheananigans" podcast. "I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings."

The SUR employee, who announced her split from Kennedy, 29, in December 2021, noted that she's currently in therapy and has been working on herself since the pair called it quits.

Leviss and Kennedy got engaged in May 2021 after five years of dating. While the pair didn't officially break up until the night before they filmed the season 9 reunion special for Vanderpump Rules on December 3, she was having second thoughts about the relationship earlier in the year.

In fact, the model explained that after the British TV personality had a strange reaction to a comment her dad made over Thanksgiving in November 2021, she really started to pull away.

"The future of Thanksgivings and Christmases and holidays was looking like it was going to be either James or my family. Especially like if we had a baby, James would make my parents out as like the not good grandparents and kind of put that in their heads," Leviss said on Friday. "Foreseeing this future and what it was all coming down to [I realized] I don't want that."

She added that the thought of separating herself from her mom, who she described as a true "mama bear," amid her then-fiancé's issues with her parents was too much. "It just kind of broke my heart," the West Coast native explained on the podcast.

When it came to the breakup itself, Leviss said she was pleasantly surprised by Kennedy's reaction.

"He was calm. He was listening to me. I was preparing for the worst, and it was the best possible outcome, I guess, that it could have been," she recalled. "Because he really did listen to me and was understanding of where I was coming from. He respected my decision. He was like, 'If your heart isn't in it anymore then I understand. we need to go our separate ways.'"

Scroll down for more podcast revelations from Leviss following her and Kennedy's split:

Breakup Teaser
“When I heard Randall [Emmett] and Lala [Kent] broke up, I was surprised but then also a little relieved for her,” Leviss told Shay, explaining that Kent calling off her own engagement in the fall of 2021 gave her some clarity. “Then I felt this feeling, not of jealousy, but envy knowing that she’s going to be OK. She’s going to be perfectly fine without Randall.” Just a few days later, Leviss said she got a call from another friend telling her that she was getting a divorce. The news, which Kennedy somewhat overheard, was another sign for the former pageant queen — and made her then-fiancé a little nervous about their own fate. After she got off the phone, Leviss remembered Kennedy saying, “Why do I feel like we’re next?” Jim Ruymen/UPI/Shutterstock
Exit Plan
“It was kind of at Thanksgiving where I realized that I didn’t want to be in this relationship anymore,” Leviss revealed. “Because James does have a history of acting out and being angry, my mom and I were both concerned that he wasn’t going to have a good reaction when I told him. So I wasn’t planning on saying anything until he went out of town. He doesn’t even know this. My mom advised me to pretend like everything is fine.” Willy Sanjuan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
When She Knew It Was Over
“There wasn’t one thing exactly [that led to the split],” she explained. “James has always felt like my parents haven’t embraced him into the family the way that he wanted to be. I found myself making excuses for him [after an argument he had with my dad]. It was getting to the point where my family and him were not meshing well.” Leviss recalled keeping up appearances the week of Thanksgiving when the pair went to Disneyland with pals Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval. “I felt like I had to put on an act for that, just to make sure that I was safe,” the TV personality continued. “Disneyland just isn’t as fun when you aren’t in love with the person that you’re with anymore, so it wasn’t my favorite experience. I’m so happy that Ariana and Tom came.” Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock
The Actual Breakup
The former Miss Sonoma County pointed to a moment when the duo were watching episodes of Vanderpump Rules ahead of filming the season 9 reunion as a catalyst for the split. “[We watched] the scene where Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz were having their breakup and James laughs and he’s like, ‘Why couldn’t I have a funny story line?’ And I was like ‘Seriously, you could have if you wanted to,’” she recalled. “He’s like, ‘What the hell does that mean? … Tell me what you mean by that.’ I told him, ‘Well, you have control over your actions and you decided that you were going to make whatever story line about, not that it was about me, but it wasn’t supporting me emotionally the way that I needed to be supported.” After explaining herself, she remembered Kennedy admitting that he didn’t know she felt that way, but Leviss proceeded to call off their relationship. “The conversation just kept going and it was like word vomit,” she continued, noting that she told him that she couldn’t keep it in any longer. “So I just told him, ‘My heart isn’t in it anymore. I don’t appreciate the way that you treat other people. it’s not how I treat other people. And a piece of me dies inside each time you mistreat somebody.’” Although the DJ asked if there was anything he could do to change her mind, and asked for a second chance, it was too late. She told him, “I gave you another chance. And that led us here,” to which Kennedy replied, “OK, I see it in your eyes. It’s over.” Rob Latour/Shutterstock
The Reunion Reflection
The Sonoma State University alum remembered panicking and having anxiety about the Vanderpump Rules reunion coming up that week since the split was so fresh. “[It was] gut-wrenching because I was so horrified that I might say something — speak my mind, where it wasn’t going to put James in a good light,” she remembered. “I was like, I need to be honest with him before this happens because the last thing I want to do is blindside somebody.” Leviss revealed that the former couple had second thoughts about talking about the split on TV, but ultimately, they chose to speak their truths. “We weren’t even sure that we were going to address it at the reunion, because we're, like, ‘Maybe it’s best to just pretend everything is fine,’” she said on the podcast. “But once we pulled up in the car, we were like we need to tell Bill [Langworthy], the producer], we need to tell production what’s going on.” Gregory Pace/Shutterstock
Where They Stand
“We are still speaking occasionally. We are still friendly with one another. We still follow each other on Instagram and like each others’ posts,” the California native said. “My goal would be to maintain a friendship with him because he was my best friend for so long and it’s really difficult to just cut that off and pretend it never happen. Because it did happen.” She added: “We spent so much time with each other and he was the love of my life at one point, but more than that he was my best friend and we shared everything together. We are going to try our best to be friends.” KCR/Shutterstock
What Her Dream Guy Looks Like
“I do want somebody who treats someone with kindness and respect. I also want someone with a good sense of humor. Someone who gets along with my family. Someone who can provide for me emotionally,” Leviss said, noting she’s not ready to date just yet. “Someone who is confident in my relationship and doesn’t get jealous. Jealousy is such an ugly personality trait because it stems from insecurity. I want someone in my life who aspires to do better and be better.” AFF-USA/Shutterstock

Gucci Mane Gifted His Wife $1 Million in Cash During Her Birthday Celebration

Posted: 07 Jan 2022 12:57 PM PST

What makes a great gift? It all depends on who you ask. For stars such as Kylie Jenner and Kanye West, more is definitely more.

Money is no object for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum and the rap mogul, who shower their friends and family members with extravagant goods.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder has given everything from a Ferrari to Louis Vuitton handbags to those in her inner circle. The Yeezy designer, for his part, has donated $1 million to his then-wife Kim Kardashian's favorite charity in honor of her birthday and also had a one-of-a-kind Hermès Birkin bag hand-painted for her.

The KKW Beauty founder's 40th birthday celebration in October 2020, proved that Kardashian is also a great gift giver. The Skims founder flew her closest friends and family to a private island for a week of festivities and fun activities, including dancing, bike riding, movies on the beach and big dinner.

"I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now," she wrote via Instagram, referencing the coronavirus pandemic quarantine restrictions at the time. "So in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40."

Others, such as Once Upon a Time alum Josh Dallas and musician Stevie Nicks, have shown their love and admiration for their nearest and dearest with inexpensive-yet-personal presents straight from the heart.

"I have this incredible book that Stevie Nicks gave me in 2013 when my boyfriend [Cory Monteith] died," Lea Michele told Billboard in January 2017. "She gave me this art book of hers that she put notes in over the years and song lyrics, and then she rewrote personal notes for me that say things like, 'Keep singing, and have faith.'"

Taylor Swift has also become a gifting guru, sending special presents to her new mom friends over the years.

The "Lover" singer hand-embroidered a blanket for Katy Perry's first child, daughter Daisy Dove in September 2020. "Hope it's one she drags around for years till it becomes an unrecognizable shred that she keeps in her pocket as a teenager," Perry captioned a photo of the sweet gift.

I like to give them stuff that [is] more meaningful now in the financial world — and in the investment world — so I probably will give them some cool NFTs this Christmas and get them into the art world,” the rapper told Page Six in December 2021. “I want to get my kids into the NFT space. I think I want to do that for them this Christmas [because] it’s cool and different. It is an investment, stuff that they can have to watch and grow with them as they are getting older because it’s gonna be a great investment.” Charles Sykes/Invision/AP/Shutterstock

The guitarist set a very high bar after giving his wife, Heidi Klum, a piece of the Berlin Wall for her 47th birthday. "It's the German wall! It's the Berlin German Wall," the model gushed about the present during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in May 2021. "My husband was actually born in East Berlin, and I've been there many, many times. Obviously, I love Germany. This is where I'm from, even though I've been [in the United States] longer than I've been in Germany. So he gave this to me for my birthday." Klum said the gift now sits in her garden, adding, "I loved it. It's beautiful. I mean, it's beautiful that it's broken and it's not standing there anymore doing what they intended it to do, so I love it as an art piece in the garden." Shutterstock
Kim Kardashian
The KKW Beauty founder jetted off to a private island in October 2020 for her 40th birthday and brought her best friends and family along for the ride. “For my birthday this year, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it than with some of the people who have helped shaped me into the woman I am today,” she wrote via Instagram at the time, adding that she surprised her “inner circle” with the trip. The reality star added: “We danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more.” Courtesy of Kim Kardashian/Instagram

The Grammy winner sent Katy Perry’s daughter Daisy Dove a hand-embroidered blankie after her arrival in August 2020. "I got amazing gifts from my whole family and Kanye for me the most amazing bags," she wrote via Twitter in October 2019. "But he also donated $1 million to my favorite charities that work so hard on prison reform on my behalf from him and the kids. This makes my heart so happy!" Dallas knows that the best gifts come from the heart. His wife, Ginnifer Goodwin, told Us Weekly and other reporters at the Tamara Mellon Palisades Village Opening Party at Blue Ribbon Sushi in Los Angeles in December 2018 that her husband often sends her sweet gifts while on the road — including fruit preserves. “He sends a lot of flowers, or jam because I like jam.”  Getty Images
Kylie Jenner
The TV personality has a long history of bestowing her loved ones with high-priced goods. For mom Kris Jenner’s 63rd birthday in November 2018, Kylie gifted her with a $250,000 red 488 Gran Turismo Berlinetta Ferrari. The Life of Kylie alum also presented her former best friend Jordyn Woods with a new Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 63 Coupe in September 2017. The former motocross competitor ditched the usual diamonds many new moms are gifted as a push present when wife Pink gave birth to the couple’s second child, Jameson, in December 2016, opting for something a little more rugged. “Thanks @hartluck for the push present,” Pink wrote on Instagram in May 2017. “I give you babies and you build me motorcycles. Some girls like diamonds, I like heavy metal and carbon-fiber and chrome.” Courtesy of P!nk/Instagram

The momager proved mother really does know best in December 2016, when she got the perfect thing for daughter Khloé Kardashian: two original photographs of Marilyn Monroe shot by legendary artists Bert Stern and Richard C. Miller. “If anyone knows me, they know I have a true obsession with Marilyn Monroe and my mom gave me for Christmas two … original photographs from Marilyn Monroe,” the Good American designer told fans in an Instagram video on Christmas Eve that year. “I mean, can you not die? They’re signed by the photographers.” Getty Images

The “All of Me” crooner got his wife, Chrissy Teigen, the perfect something-something for Christmas 2015: a giant cheese wheel. “John got me my lifetime dream for Christmas!” the cookbook author wrote on Instagram of the thoughtful surprise. “A cheese wheel to dump pasta and risotto in for years to come! My tableside serving game is bout to be liiiiiit!" Courtesy of Chrissy Teigen/Instagram
Stevie Nicks
Nicks gave pal Lea Michele something extremely personal after her boyfriend, Cory Monteith, passed away. “I have this incredible book that Stevie Nicks gave me in 2013 when my boyfriend died,” the Glee alum told Billboard in January 2017. She gave me this art book of hers that she put notes in over the years and song lyrics, and then she rewrote personal notes for me that say things like, ‘Keep singing, and have faith.’” Getty Images

The “Ultralight Beam” rapper tends to go all out, particularly when it comes to Kardashian. In 2012, the Yeezy designer gave his then-spouse a Cartier bracelet worth $35,000 for her birthday. One year later, she received a one-of-a-kind Hermès Birkin bag handpainted with nude artwork by renowned artist George Condo. Shepard went to great lengths to make wife Kristen Bell’s 31st birthday special in 2011: The Without a Paddle actor rented a sloth! “At that time, it was nearly impossible to procure a sloth,” he later told Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April 2014. “They’re not on every corner like they are today. There were like two guys in the country that had access to a sloth and they’re very particular about what type of home owner’s insurance you have.” Getty Images

The Mother, May I Sleep With Danger star reportedly did the same for her own children with husband Dean McDermott one year later.  Getty Images
JAY-Z
There’s no shortage of the luxe riches the Grammy winner has bestowed upon his wife, Beyoncé, and his children, Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir, but the gift he reportedly gave to Bey for her 29th birthday in 2000 takes the cake: According to Hello! magazine, the “Empire State of Mind” rapper dropped $4 million on a private island in the Bahamas so the family could enjoy more time together.  Getty Images

Jenner shared a snap of her TV while watching the United States Men's Basketball championship — in which the point guard played 22 minutes and scored two free throws — in August 2021. She added a gold medal emoji to her Instagram Story post.

Upon his victorious journey home, the Phoenix Suns athlete celebrated his championship with his love on the lake. Booker shared an Instagram gallery at the time, captioning it "LAKE BOi." In the pics, the Kendall + Kylie designer lounged on the back of a boat wearing a green bikini, matching hat and his gold medal around her neck.

One month prior, the reality TV personality got emotional while watching his performance during the NBA Finals.

Kendall Jenner's Quotes About Relationships Through the Years

The pair has kept their romance relatively private save for a few Instagram appearances. After nearly one year of dating, a source previously told Us Weekly that they have "gotten stronger as a couple."

"They spend a lot of time together, which might not always be shown publicly," the insider added in June 2021. "They're a private couple and only really their families and close friends have gotten to witness them as a couple. They're happy together and they still have a lot of learning to do about each other, but right now they're in a really good place."

Kendall Jenner and Devin Booker’s Relationship Timeline

Has Kendall Jenner found The One? The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is loving life with beau Devin Booker, but the twosome's relationship got off to a messy start.

Jenner and Booker were first spotted on a double date — with other people — in May 2018. While the model was seeing Ben Simmons at the time, Booker was linked to Kylie Jenner's then-best friend Jordyn Woods.

Us Weekly confirmed in February 2019 that Booker and Woods' relationship quietly fizzled out before she was caught kissing Khloé Kardashian's on-again, off-again boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, at a party. The scandal, which prompted Kardashian and Thompson to split, also resulted in the end of Woods and Kylie's friendship. (Kardashian and Thompson got back together in August 2020.)

Kendall and Simmons, meanwhile, continued to date on and off.

"I'm very young and right now I feel like relationships aren't always super-certain and I don't want to bring too much attention to something if you don't really know long term [what it's going to be],” she told Vogue in May 2019. “A relationship is only meant to be between two people, and the second you make it the world's business is when it starts messing with the two people mentally. Like once everyone is let in, you're letting all these opinions into your relationships, and I don't think that's fair."

Kendall and Simmons were last spotted together in February 2020.

"A lot of the relationships have taught me more about myself, which is the most valuable," she said during a behind-the-scenes video for a Calvin Klein campaign at the time. "And like, what I want from a person or from a relationship."

That April, the E! personality was spotted out with Booker. Woods was subsequently accused of throwing shade via Twitter.

"Haha good morning," the influencer wrote alongside three trash can emojis in a since-deleted tweet.

Kendall, for her part, never acknowledged Woods' alleged shade. She did, however, fire back at social media users who accused her of "passing around" NBA players after she was seen with the Phoenix Suns player.

"They act like I'm not in full control of where I throw this cooch," Kendall, who has also been linked to Blake Griffin, tweeted in April 2020.

Pink and Carey Hart's Relationship Timeline

Posted: 07 Jan 2022 10:56 AM PST

Pink's found her true love in her husband, Carey Hart! The long-term Hollywood couple seem to have found the secret to making their relationship work, no matter the circumstance.

The twosome met in 2001 at the Summer X Games in Philadelphia. After reconciling following a brief split in 2003, Pink proposed to Hart in 2005 while the motocross racer competed during the Pro 250 class finals in Mammoth, California. They tied the knot in Costa Rica in 2006.

The "Just Give Me a Reason" singer revealed in 2008 that the pair had called it quits after two years of marriage. Their separation inspired her tracks "So What," "Mean," "I Don’t Believe You" and "Please Don't Leave Me," all of which appeared on her Funhouse album that same year.

The duo ultimately found their way back to each other, as Pink confirmed their reconciliation in February 2010. Nearly eight years later, she brought up their rocky past while commemorating their 12th anniversary via Instagram. "12 years married today. 16 if ya count the 4 years we spent deciding if we were going to live together forever or kill each other," she captioned a collection of pictures of the couple from over the years in January 2018. "It's been a nice mix of that ever since. Get em' young and train em' ladies. I still have a crush on you @hartluck."

Pink and Hart are now the parents of daughter Willow, born in 2011, and son Jameson, born in 2016.

The Grammy winner previously opened up about how becoming a parent alongside Hart has "completely changed" her for the better. "I'm much more open. I'm much more accepting of myself. I'm much more thoughtful," she told Carson Daly on Today in 2019. "I plan more. I have to. I have to figure out the balance."

She added, "I think about the world more and what we're leaving for these kids and the direction we're headed in so I guess it changes your music, but I'm not writing songs to my children because I feel like the best ones have already been written."

The pair separated two years after their wedding. Pink shared the news on her website at the time, writing: "The most important thing for you all to know is that Carey and I love each other so so much. This breakup is not about cheating, anger, or fighting. I know it sounds like cliché bulls--t, but we are best friends, and we will continue to be." Charley Gallay/Getty Images

During their 2008 split, the pair even went as far as drawing up divorce papers before they reconciled. “We’ve had two breaks,” Pink explained on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2016. “The first one was about a year. And the second one was 11 months.” Paul Aussenard/WireImage

The songstress called her 2008 single “So What” a “vomiting of truths” because she mentioned losing her husband in the lyrics. She also credits the song’s music video as the reason why they reunited, since they got back together after she called to ask him to appear in the clip. Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic

The Pennsylvania native confirmed that the duo reconciled after seeking marriage counseling. “It’s the only reason that we’re still together,” she said 10 years later during an Instagram  Live in June 2020. “I think partners, after a long time — I can't say it’s a man and woman thing, I think it’s a partner thing, a spouse thing — you just speak two different languages.” Shutterstock

The “Beautiful Trauma” singer spoke about her turbulent relationship with the motocross racer in an interview with The Guardian in October 2017. “There are moments where I look at [Hart] and he is the most thoughtful, logical, constant … he’s like a rock. He’s a good man. He’s a good dad. He’s just the kind of dad I thought he’d be and then some,” she said. “And then I’ll look at him and go: I’ve never liked you. There’s nothing I like about you. We have nothing in common. I don’t like any of the s--t you like. I don’t ever wanna see you again.” “Then two weeks later I’m like, things are going so good, you guys. Then you’ll go through times when you haven’t had sex in a year. Is this bed death? Is this the end of it? Do I want him? Does he want me?” she continued before adding, “Monogamy is work! But you do the work and it’s good again.” Jeff Kravitz/Filmmagic

The “What About Us” singer came to her husband’s defense after a troll took issue with his parenting skills. “I love your music, your kids are beautiful,” a commenter wrote on a photo of the couple’s son, Jameson, covered in chocolate. “But your husband, I’m sorry, lacks the responsibility your kids need in his care.” Pink clapped back with some criticism of her own, replying, “You sound well informed on the performance of my husband as a father. Answer me this: how often have you spent time with my husband? How often have you watched him parent? Do you know my children? Are you aware of their development? Even better: what are your credentials in Parenting expertise?” Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Hart took to social media to give thanks for his partner on their 13th wedding anniversary. “Who would have thought two misfits like us could pull it off!!!” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m very grateful for you, baby. The athlete penned a touching 40th birthday tribute to his wife via Instagram in September 2019. “Welcome to 40 baby. I’ve celebrated 18 birthdays with you, and I can say it’s amazing growing up with you,” he wrote. “The person you have grown into is inspiring. You have become a successful business woman, superstar, dedicated mother, Philanthropist, supportive wife, wine maker, motorcycle mama, and amazing friend to all around you. I’m so proud of the woman you have become, and you are more beautiful than ever. You truly are like wine. You just keep getting better, and I’m so lucky to be along on this crazy ride with you. I love you baby. Looking forward many many more birthdays with you. I can’t wait to see how nuts you and I are in our 80’s. Enjoy your day.” Broadimage/Shutterstock

After taking home the People's Choice Champion Award on November 10 with her family by her side, the three-time Grammy winner stepped out for a performance with Chris Stapleton at the 2019 Country Music Association Awards a few days later. On the red carpet in Nashville, Pink took a moment to announce that she will be taking a break from music to spend more time with her biggest fans: her husband and their two children. "We did two-and-a-half years [recording and on tour] and Willow is back in school now and Jameson's gonna start preschool soon, so it's kind of the year of the family," the singer told Entertainment Tonight. Her decision to briefly step away from the spotlight was also made with her husband at the front of her mind. "He is super supportive. He follows me around the world, and now it's his turn." The happy couple makes sure to keep their relationship both fun and light — including their annual dress-up party that takes place every December. In 2019, the lovebirds dressed as two of the “What About Us” singer’s heroes, Billie Jean King and John McEnroe. “I appreciate heart and determination in every facet of ones life. Serena is my modern day, of course. Booking tennis lessons as we speak,” the singer captioned the pair’s costume snap. The Pennsylvania native and her main man celebrated 14 years of marriage on January 7 and took to social media to commemorate the occasion. “So many years, So many hairstyles @hartluck…We’ve been at this thing a long time, babe. It isn’t perfect, but I’m grateful it’s ours,” Pink wrote via Instagram. “I love our family. Thank you for walking in front of me, beside me, and right behind me at times. ‘You’re a real man, carey hart.’ #agreetodisagree #fightnice #wehatethesamepeople #myrock #noonemakesmeangrierthanyou #butyouresuperhot.” “14 years married to this amazing woman. I’m so proud of the life that we have built together,” Hart posted to his Instagram. “Both of us came from broken homes, yet we made the choice to work hard at our relationship. And look at us now! Two misfits when we met, we have grown together and now have an amazing family. Thank you for being my best friend (I know you don’t like that), and amazing mother to our wild kids. I love you so much.” Courtesy of Carey Hart/Instagram

The couple went through a scary time when the singer and Jameson both battled coronavirus amid the global pandemic. “Battling COVID-19 along with my 3-year-old son was the most physically and emotionally challenging experience I have gone through as a mother,” she wrote in a Mother’s Day op-ed for NBC News in May. “Weeks after receiving our test results, my son was still ill and feverish. It was a terrifying time, not knowing what might come next.” One month earlier, Hart also said their battles were “intense” during an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Jason Ellis Show. “They both got extremely sick. My son probably got the worst of the two of them and it debunks the whole theory that this only hits old people. She has asthma and it totally attacked her lungs and her chest. She was having a hard time breathing.” Shutterstock

Pink opened up about their couples counseling during a candid conversation with Vanessa Inn via Instagram Live in June. “I got a lot of sh-t for telling people that Carey and I have been in couples counseling with Vanessa [Inn],” the songstress said while speaking to Inn about mental health. “So I talk to Vanessa on my own and I also talk to Vanessa with Carey and for Carey and I. It’s the only reason that we’re still together because you know, I think partners after a long time, we just speak — I can’t say it’s a man and woman thing, I think it’s a partner thing, a spouse thing — that you just speak two different languages.” She continued: “You need someone to hear both of you and then translate it for you, and without Vanessa translating for me for the last 18 years, I mean we would not be together. We just wouldn’t because we are not taught as kids how to have relationships, how to get along with people." Shutterstock

Pink paid tribute to her husband on his 45th birthday on July 18. "Happy birthday @hartluck I still remember your 27th birthday. You're so much cooler now," she captioned a black-and-white photo of the pair by the ocean. "I hope this year is your happiest. #youdeservethebest your kids worship you and I am grateful for you every single day almost." Courtesy Pink/Instagram

“Happy birthday to my MUCH better half, @pink,” the Seal Beach, California native wrote via Instagram on Pink’s 41st birthday on September 8 alongside five photos. “I’ve been w/ you for almost half of your life! It’s been so amazing to watch you grow from a young hell raiser, to the best mom to ever do it, role model, philanthropist, icon, and wife. Enjoy your birthday baby. Willz, jamo, and myself love you 😘.” Courtesy Carey Hart/Instagram

The “Raise Your Glass” singer got real about marriage and her dynamic with Hart in September 2020. “He’s still my favorite sweet little dirtball. He and I have been at this a long time, and it is our relentless and stubborn idealism that keeps us together,” she wrote via Instagram. “Marriage is awful, wonderful, comfort and rage. It is boring, terrifying, and a total nail biter. It is loving another fallible creature while trying to love yourself.”   She continued: “It is a lifetime of coming back to the table. People laugh at us because we’re either fighting or laughing. They roll their eyes when we talk about therapy. But I’ll tell you what. It’s worth it. All of it. Even when it isn’t. I love you babe. I’m grateful we made it to this photo @hartluck.” Courtesy of Pink/Instagram

The “Raise Your Glass” singer commemorated the pair’s 15-year anniversary via Instagram in January 2021. “15 years. Proud of us babe,” she captioned several pics of the duo over the years. “See, sometimes being stubborn pays off. What a wild ride it’s been, once we learned how to stay in our race line. Here’s to at least the next 15 months hahahah. I love you and I love our family.  .” Courtesy of Pink/Instagram

Pink opened up about feeling "completely grateful" for the care she received following hip surgery. "It was a brutal first week full of tears and pain med depression, ulcers from meds and constant fevers, but my @hartluck brought me through," she captioned a selfie via Instagram in November 2021. "(No one recovers from surgery like he does, he’s not real.) He brought me coffee in the shower, lugged around my 100 pound CPM contraptions every where I went, dried my tears, cooked me oatmeal, kept track of my meds, got me my phone charger, plugged in my compression machines, took my temp, made the bed, and talked me off the ledge." “I’m happy for him," the 56-year-old Bravo star told Page Six on Friday, January 7. "I’m happy we both moved on."

The Real Housewives of New York City star — who married D'Agostino, 55, on New Year's Eve in 2016 — has no hard feelings toward her ex and his new fiancée.

"I’ve moved on from that time in my life and I truly only wish him the best," de Lesseps explained. "That’s the feeling. It’s all good.”

Rollins announced on Saturday, January 1, that D’Agostino popped the question one day prior at a party celebrating his birthday, which takes place on New Year’s Eve.

"Woke up like this," the interior designer wrote via Instagram, sharing a photo of her engagement ring following the Palm Beach, Florida, bash.

The proposal took place five years after D'Agostino married de Lesseps on the same date in 2016. He got down on one knee in the same city where he and the "Money Can't Buy You Class" singer tied the knot.

However, the Connecticut native’s marriage to D'Agostino was short-lived, with the former couple announcing their separation just seven months after walking down the aisle.

"It's with great sadness that Tom & I agreed to divorce," the former countess wrote via Twitter in August 2017. "We care for each other very much [and] hope you respect our privacy during this sad time!"

D'Agostino moved on with Rollins not long after his split from the TV personality, with his December 2021 proposal marking their fourth New Year's Eve as a couple.

"Thank you for all the wonderful well wishes & heartfelt congratulations celebrating our engagement," Rollins wrote via Instagram on Monday, January 3, alongside a photo from the magical moment. "I still feel like I am still walking on sunshine! My feet haven't hit the ground! It's a wonderful life."

The cabaret entertainer, for her part, previously told Us Weekly that she didn't regret marrying D'Agostino — even though it didn't last.

"I'm a hopeless romantic. I'm not afraid to love. And I married and I don't regret anything," de Lesseps exclusively told Us in May 2018. "It was something I had to do and I loved [D'Agostino]. I did love him. It just didn't work out. It happens."

Before D'Agostino, the "What Do I Want for Christmas?" was married to Alexandre de Lesseps from 1993 to 2009. While Luann hasn't walked down the aisle since splitting from D'Agostino, she has found love on multiple occasions, dating trainer Garth Wakeford and retired athlete Radamez Rubio Gaytan after her second divorce.

Amy Schumer Gets Real About Experiencing ‘Crushing Anxiety’

Posted: 07 Jan 2022 10:26 AM PST

Katy Perry, Selena Gomez and more stars have shined a light on what it's really like to deal with mental health issues in the spotlight.

Being in the public eye is part of the job when becoming a star, but it can make it more difficult to navigate one's problems. Many stars, however, have used their platform to normalize mental health problems.

From sharing stories of postpartum depression to opening up about anxiety and suicidal thoughts, many of Hollywood's biggest names have become more vocal over the years about real-life struggles.

Ahead of welcoming her first child with Orlando Bloom, Perry got real about facing bouts of depression and self-doubt in the past during an August 2020 interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe. Following her 2017 breakup and Witness album releases, Perry revealed she became "clinically depressed and had to get on medication for the first time in my life.”

The "Roar" singer said she was "so ashamed of it" when she started taking medication. "I was like, ‘I’m Katy Perry. I wrote ‘Firework.’ I’m on medication. This is f—ed up,'" she recalled. The musician later learned how to "quiet it the f—k down" when it came to public criticism and went on a two year "psychological, spiritual, emotional journey."

In April 2020, Gomez revealed that she has bipolar disorder and explained that by knowing that truth about herself she was able to feel more at ease.

"When I have more information, it actually helps me, it doesn't scare me once I know it," the "Rare" singer said on an episode of Bright Minded: Live With Miley. "When I finally said what I was going to say, I wanted to know everything about it and it took the fear away."

Kristen Bell shared her own mental health journey during an interview on Sunday Today With Willie Geist in November 2019, noting that she felt "incredibly irresponsible" for not speaking out sooner.

"Everyone thinks there's some shame in it," the Frozen star said at the time. "I am someone who takes a medication for her anxiety and depression. I am someone who has to check myself and sometimes — if I'm feeling really low — make a checklist of good and bad things in my life to see if it's my mental state or if we really have a problem. And me talking about that actually came from [my husband, Dax Shepard]."

Demi Lovato, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Jon Hamm have also opted not to hide their issues, instead speaking out about their past demons.

Sara Bareilles
In January 2022, the "Brave" singer shared photos from a trip to see the Northern Lights via Instagram, and the caption revealed she struggled with depression and anxiety throughout 2021. "It has been a very low year for me with regard to my mental health, and I am also grateful that part of the reason I can touch my joy again is I finally got the help of some medication," she shared in the New Year's post. The Grammy winner continued, "It's been a journey to try and pull up, and I found this year I needed more help. It is helping. I am relieved and feel more like myself- and I will find my way again and now it feels possible. If you're struggling- I see you, and I hope you remember you're not stuck as long as you're willing to change the view. Begin Again." S Meddle/ITV/Shutterstock
Machine Gun Kelly
The “Papercuts” singer got candid with Drew Barrymore during a December 2021 episode of her talk show, in which he admitted he struggled with being vulnerable outside of his music. “I see a lot of pictures of me and there's, like, smiles on them," he said. "It's just weird, though, because I didn't feel good at all that day and I kind of am sick of smiling on days when I don't feel like smiling. And I feel like this odd pressure because I don't want, like, my fans to think that I'm taking something for granted." The Dirt actor continued, "So if, like, I accept an award and I'm like, super smiley but behind the scenes … there was, like, stuff going on, or I didn't feel, I don't know, like, a lot of what I do is for other people and I haven't given myself the time to just accept that it's OK to not be OK." Chase Stokes
The Outer Banks actor was was honored by Glenn Close and her Bring Change to Mind organization for his support of mental health awareness, and he opened up about struggling during his teen years. "I remember being 15 and having my first anxiety attack and not knowing how to process it and not knowing where it came from, and wishing I had an outlet to figure out how to understand those things," he said during his speech via E! Online. "This is not for me. This is for the 15-year-old Chase, who didn't know his place in society. And was not sure who he was." Matt Baron/Shutterstock

The Dopesick star told E! News in November 2021 that he "really struggled" with his mental health throughout the coronavirus pandemic, thanking his Hulu family for being "very empathetic" as he worked through his ups and downs. Bella Hadid
The model took to Instagram in November 2021 to share a clip of Willow Smith discussing feeling "lost" and "confused" alongside several photos of herself crying. She urged followers to take care of their mental health. "Social media is not real. For anyone struggling, please remember that," she wrote in a lengthy caption at the time. "Sometimes all you’ve gotta hear is that you’re not alone. So from me to you, you’re not alone. I love you, I see you, and I hear you. Self help and mental illness/chemical imbalance is not linear and it is almost like a flowing rollercoaster of obstacles … there is always light at the end of the tunnel." She hinted at her own struggles with depression and anxiety, adding, "It took me a long time to get that in my mind, but I’ve had enough breakdowns and burnouts to know this: if you work hard enough on yourself, spending time alone to understand your traumas, triggers, joys, and routine, you will always be able to understand or learn more about your own pain and how to handle it. Which is all that you can ask of yourself. Anyways. Not sure why but it feels harder and harder to not share my truth on here. Thank you for seeing me and thank you for listening." Kirsten Dunst
The Fargo star recalled hitting a wall with her depression during her 20s. The “anger” led to Dunst entering a rehab facility and ultimately starting medication.  “I feel like most people around 27, the s--t hits the fan. Whatever is working in your brain, you can't live like that anymore mentally. I feel like I was angry,” she told The Sunday Times in November 2021. “All I'll say is that medication is a great thing and can really help you come out of something. I was afraid to take something and so I sat in it for too long.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock
Megan Thee Stallion
The rapper reflected on losing her mother in March 2019 after a battle with brain cancer. “I’ve lost both of my parents,” she said on Peace of Mind With Taraji in October 2021, also referring to her father’s death when she was a teenager. “Now I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, who do I talk to? What do I do?’ I just started learning that it’s OK to ask for help. It’s OK to want to go get therapy.” She continued: “As a Black person, and when you think of therapy, you think of, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m weak,’ you think of medication, and you just think the worst. That’s kind of what you see on TV too; like, therapy wasn’t even presented in the media as something that was good. Now it’s becoming safe to say, ‘All right now, there’s a little too much going on. Somebody help me.’” Michele Eve Sandberg/Shutterstock
JoJo
Although the singer works hard to stay on top of her mental health, she admitted that returning to antidepressants initially wasn't her first choice. "I've just been trying to deal day by day. To be honest with you, one of the things that I did — I judged myself a little bit for this, but I got back on antidepressants," JoJo detailed in an interview with Very Well Mind in September 2021. "I wanted to believe that I could clean up my diet, and get out in the sun, and write in my journal, and meditate and do yoga and just be okay. But I needed a little lift." Looking back on it now, the performer doesn't feel bad about needing "a little help." "I'm not ashamed that I did that. It was an important turning point for me," she added.  ETIENNE LAURENT/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock
Olivia Rodrigo
The “Driver’s License” crooner opened up about prioritizing her mental health amid fame during an interview with Vogue Singapore, published in September 2021. “I’m taking [fame] one step at a time,” the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star told the magazine. “It can be really tough on your mental health, though. I’m grateful for the people who like me for me, and keep me separated from all the noise and tabloids or what people are saying about me on social media. That’s always been a top priority. It’s funny how recognition changes everything and also changes nothing in your life. The problems I was having a year ago are still the problems I’m having now, and things that brought me joy a year ago are still the things that bring me joy now. It’s just another aspect of life that you need to learn how to deal with, but it doesn’t change who you are as a person." Rob Latour/Shutterstock
Candace Cameron Bure
The Full House alum opened up about how she handles her depression in September 2021. She said in addition to the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic, being a working mom and traveling actress can mess with her emotions. “Really another big part why fitness is important for me is it’s so beneficial to my mental health,” Cameron Bure explained in an interview with The Salvation Army. “I not only juggle my family but also work in a lot of different capacities. It can get really difficult. The travel can get strenuous as well. I need to keep my mental health clear. Just sweating that out and all those endorphins really help me a lot. I notice a huge difference when I don’t exercise, how much it can affect me mentally and kind of deal with depression.” Willy Sanjuan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Owen Wilson
In a rare interview, Wilson opened up about how struggles from his childhood went unaddressed. “As a kid, there’s a lot of things that you think about. Death — that kind of landed with me when I was about 11,” the actor explained to Esquire in August 2021. “And I don’t remember ever talking with my parents about it.” Wilson, who attempted suicide in August 2007, said that he tried to speak with his parents at the time. “Although I do remember one time saying to my dad — and I remember exactly where in the house — saying, ‘I worry about dying,’ and seeing my dad turn away and catch himself," he recalled. "And I was surprised to see that reaction. But who knows, maybe that was part of why I said it.” Since then, Wilson shared that he’s in a “lucky place” when it comes to his mental health, "feeling pretty appreciative" now. "I know everything’s kind of up and down, but when you get on one of these waves, you’ve gotta ride it as long as you can,” he noted at the time. “I’ve just felt — yeah. Feeling pretty grateful. Well, grateful’s one of those words that get used all the time. Appreciative. Of, you know, stuff.” Action Press/Shutterstock
Lil Wayne
"When I was told that I couldn't have what I wanted, what I dream of, what I desired, and that was to rap. I was willing to die for it," the Grammy winner recalled during an episode of "Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man" in August 2021, going into detail about attempting suicide when he was 12. "[I] aimed for my heart. How I knew I had mental health problems was I pulled the trigger." Police arrived at the scene, and although the musician was badly injured, he survived. "There is no bar to measure how real. [Mental health is] real," he said. "It's so real that if someone even has the guts, the heart, the bravery, whatever to at least admit that they have something going on up there that they're not sure about, it's so real that we should only react in the realest way possible." Oliver Hudson
In August 2021, Hudson shared a throwback photo of himself with a powerful caption. "Listen kid.. you’re [sic] future’s gonna be good but you’re gonna have to go on antidepressants," he wrote. "Shouldn’t be much of a surprise with that stupid face you’re making.. anyway, good look." Skip Bolen/Fox
Bella Hadid
The model admitted that she struggles with "insane social anxiety" that only got worse when she became a public figure. "Partying is not my thing, but I felt enormous pressure to project that image because I assumed that's all people wanted from me," Hadid told Vogue in August 2021. "Now I don't want to live in that box. I definitely feel like I'm allowed to speak." Kathy Hutchins/Shutterstock
Jessica Mulroney
“I’ve struggled with anxiety and social anxiety my whole life. I’ve masked it many times and this year has been heavy for all of us,” the stylist wrote via Instagram in August 2021. “Know there is hope. I’ve found it through sobriety and therapy. My life is happy again. I wish this for you all. Thank you for your love this year.” Broadimage/Shutterstock
Kit Harington
In August 2021, the British actor opened up about how his 2019 stay in rehab was beneficial for his mental health as well as his physical health. “I went through some mental health difficulties after [Game of] Thrones — and during the end of Thrones, to be honest — and I think it was directly to do with the nature of the show and what I’ve been doing for years,” he said during an interview on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show. “I think I took a sort of break after Thrones where I said, ‘I don’t want to work for a year. I want to really kind of concentrate on myself.' I’m really happy I did that.” Later that month, he detailed his "traumatic" struggles in an interview with the Sunday Times, sharing that some of his troubles included alcohol. “You get to a place where you feel like you are a bad person, you feel like you are a shameful person. And you feel that there’s no way out, that’s just who you are. And getting sober is the process of going, ‘No, I can change,'" he said of his state of mind before going to rehab in 2019, admitting that he experienced suicidal thoughts. "I will give you an answer to that question: the answer is yes. Yes of course. I went through periods of real depression where I wanted to do all sorts of things. ... I definitely don’t want to be seen as a martyr or special. I’ve been through something, it’s my stuff. If it helps someone, that’s good." KCS Presse/MEGA
Willow Smith
Smith’s May 2021 performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon triggered memories of an anxiety attack she had before a live performance of “Whip My Hair” when she was younger. "I was doing the Jimmy Fallon performance and I had a flashback of being, like, 10 or 9 and, like, having an anxiety attack on set,” Smith explained on a July 2021 episode of “The Yungblud Podcast” for BBC Sounds. “And basically feeling like everyone around me was just, 'You're just a brat… Why aren't you grateful? You're having an anxiety attack,' but they didn't see it as an anxiety attack. They saw it like a tantrum.” The “Transparent Soul” singer explained that she needed to “take time” to process those feelings after reliving the attack. "I need to go into a little meditation," the “Transparent Soul” singer said. "I need to separate myself from the situation a little bit and kind of tell myself, 'You're not 9. You're a grown ass woman.' … And so I have to retrain my mind. So, my mental health is in a very fragile state, but I think it's a state where it's about to grow in a really awesome way.” Janet Mayer/Startraksphoto.com
Olivia Munn
The Newsroom alum had a powerful conversation about depression and overcoming suicidal thoughts during a July 2021 appearance on The Demi Lovato Show. "For people who deal with depression, like you and me, and who can have suicidal thoughts, anytime you get to that place and it seems like things are too tough and you just can't take it anymore, just ask yourself if you can hold on another day," Munn told Lovato. The Oklahoma native noted that if someone takes their own life then it’s “game over” and you’ll never see what could happen in the future. "The pain is really tough. I know, you know. We've been there,” she continued. “But if I had ended my life when I wanted to, there is so much I would have missed. And that's what's worth staying for.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock
Simone Biles
The gymnastics champion withdrew from both the team and all-around finals during the Tokyo Olympics in July 2021. “After further medical evaluation, Simone Biles has withdrawn from the final individual all-around competition at the Tokyo Olympic Games, in order to focus on her mental health,” USA Gymnastics said in a statement at the time. “Simone will continue to be evaluated daily to determine whether or not to participate in next week’s individual event finals.” After her exit, Team USA went on to earn the silver medal during the team finals, which Biles claimed they might not have earned had she not withdrawn from the competition. “After that vault, I was like: ‘I’m not in the right headspace, I’m not going to lose a medal for this country and for these girls’ because they worked way too hard for me to go out there and have them lose a medal,” the Dancing With the Stars alum said in a press conference at the time. Holly Madison
The model opened up about her body dysmorphia struggles while she lived at the Playboy Mansion in a candid July 2021 TikTok video. "So for a recent post, I was looking for pictures of myself in a bunny costume and I came across one. It reminded me of a moment in my life where I was watching a playback of myself in a fashion show and I thought, 'Oh, my God, I need to lose weight,'" Madison explained in the video, alongside a photo of her from 2005. "[I] thought I had gained weight, and thought I hadn't stuck to my diet, and I thought my thighs were huge and I thought, 'I need to lose five pounds at least,’ and that's ridiculous. I look like a stick." In the video, Madison hoped by sharing her story that others can realize the “off the charts” effects of body dysmorphia. “It's not worth it,” she continued. “It’s not worth feeling bad about yourself. Like, there are things we all want to improve about ourselves, but it's not even worth taking the time to be miserable.” Mediapunch/Shutterstock
Naomi Osaka
The tennis star opened up for the first time in July 2021 after mental health issues caused her to drop out of the French Open two months prior. In an essay published by Time, she wrote that she “felt pressure” to disclose her symptoms at the time and worried that people “did not believe [her].” Osaka also mentioned that she thinks every athlete deserves "the right to take a mental break from media scrutiny on a rare occasion without being subject to strict sanctions." After saying she wouldn’t do press for the French Open in May 2021, she received a $15,000 fine. "In any other line of work, you would be forgiven for taking a personal day here and there, so long as it's not habitual. You wouldn't have to divulge your most personal symptoms to your employer; there would likely be HR measures protecting at least some level of privacy," she wrote. "I feel uncomfortable being the spokesperson or face of athlete mental health as it’s still so new to me and I don’t have all the answers. I do hope that people can relate and understand it’s OK to not be OK, and it’s OK to talk about it. There are people who can help, and there is usually light at the end of any tunnel." Ben Higgins
"I am back in Indiana right now because of a breakdown, again, in my life where I don't know what's happening," the season 20 Bachelor admitted to Trista Sutter during a July 2021 episode of her "Better Etc." podcast. "I don't know what this next season of life looks like for me. I'm farther and farther removed from the show, and at the same time, I need to figure out what my life is going to look like and what my legacy is going to be." The reality star explained that fame altered his mental health over time, but that he was looking forward to a new chapter in his life even if it came with fear. "It's also really hard," he said. "I'm at a low place, I don't see myself as this thriving figure right now. I'm kind of lamenting and separating myself from a lot of things that I held close." ABC/Craig Sjodin
Annie Murphy
The Kevin Can F--k Himself star opened up to The Zoe Report in June 2021 about her struggle with depression. At the height of the coronavirus pandemic, Annie Murphy flew home to Canada right as lockdown orders were set in place. She revealed, “My mom was like, ‘You're crying 12 times a day hysterically, to the point where your teeth are chattering. That's not normal.’” From there, she met with a therapist who diagnosed her with depression. “I was like, ‘Damn it, I'm depressed.” With the help of regular therapy and antidepressants, the Emmy Award winner revealed she doesn’t cry every day and can focus on other things in her life. She added, “You don't have to be on drugs for the whole time, but they truly, truly saved my life in the sense that I was not a functional human being and I was able to be a functional human being.” Nina Westervelt/Shutterstock
T-Pain
The "Buy U a Drank" rapper revealed in June 2021 that some harsh criticism from Usher caused his mental health to take a negative turn. "Usher was my friend," the Florida native recalled of the 2013 conversation during Netflix's This Is Pop. "I really respect Usher. And he said, 'I'm gonna tell you something, man. You kinda f--ked up music.' ... I chuckled a little bit, it was a nervous chuckle. I didn't understand, you know?" The comment left a big impression on T-Pain. "That is the very moment, and I don't even think I realized this for a long time," he shared. "But that's the very moment that started a four-year depression for me." Lana Condor
The To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star got real about her battle with anxiety in June 2021. “Some days my anxiety really gets me and I need to lay in bed & be alone until the trembling stops. And that is absolutely OK!” she tweeted at the time. “I charge [very] introverted so that I can expel extroverted energy at my job. And that’s also OK. Take care of yourself and please be kind to yourself.” Broadimage/Shutterstock
Ryan Reynolds
The Deadpool star opened up about his ongoing battle with anxiety as a part of Mental Health Awareness month in May 2021. “One of the reasons I’m posting this so late is I over schedule myself and important things slip. And one of the reasons I over schedule myself is my lifelong pal, anxiety,” Reynolds wrote via Instagram just days before the month ended. “I know I’m not alone and more important, to all those like me who over schedule, overthink, overwork, over-worry and over-everything, please know you’re not alone.” The Proposal actor concluded: “We don’t talk enough about mental health and don’t do enough to destigmatize talking about it. But, as with this post, better late than never, I hope …” Gregory Pace/Shutterstock
Goldie Hawn
In a May 2021 interview with Good Morning Britain, the Oscar winner spoke about struggling with depression when she was in her early 20s. "I was 21 and I was rising to success," she recalled. "I know it sounds terrible, but it's a very, very difficult thing — I didn't necessarily want that. Now in doing so, I was very depressed. And I had a lot of these issues where I couldn't even go outside in public. This is something I worked through. I went to a doctor. I went to a psychologist." The Private Benjamin star added that she hadn't really planned to become famous — she originally moved to Hollywood to become a dancer — and was surprised when she became a household name. "Unfortunately, I didn't want to be a big deal," she shared. "I wanted to go home." Dave Allocca/Starpix/Shutterstock
Dan Levy
The Schitt's Creek cocreator and star opened up about his lifelong battle with anxiety during a December 2020 interview with Bustle, revealing that his mental health struggles came with a few physical side effects. "I think that came from a deep-rooted fear of knowing that I was gay and not being able to be free," Levy said at the time. "By the time I got to high school, when your brain is starting to catch up to your physical impulses, it led to a very confusing time. Because on the one hand, you are now being introduced to things like self-awareness and anxiety. At the same time, you’re becoming more and more savvy when it comes to hiding it."   While social situations caused a serious amount of stress, Levy found an escape in school plays. "I was starting to develop a sense of confidence by way of being able to entertain people," he explained. "It was like a decoy version of myself that I was putting out there to not have to live with the reality that when the bullying was happening ... they were speaking the truth." Hannah Brown
The Bachelorette alum posted three photos showing her dancing as she marked World Mental Health Day in October 2020. The former beauty queen recalled the time she went to see a doctor before going into her junior year of college, when the physician asked her a simple question: "Are you happy, Hannah?" "I will never forget that seemingly simple question that came with a heavy answer," she wrote. "I'm the girl that is always wearing a smile! How dare he ask?! But oh, thank God he did." "'No…. I'm not. I don't even remember the last time I felt happy. And I don't know why. I have reason to be happy, but I just can't really feel it,' I said through broken words passing through the lumps of emotions that had felt indefinitely lodged in my throat," the Dancing With the Stars champ admitted. "I couldn't keep up the act anymore. For years, I silently struggled internally as I was externally championed as the one who always seemed happy. I honestly think that day in the doctor's office was the first time someone asked me if I was indeed, happy." "Admitting I wasn't okay, and acknowledging my silent, hostage struggle with anxiety and depression through my crocodile tears was a pivotal day for me," she continued. "I have made big leaps of progress in healing and understanding 'its okay not to be okay', with important tools and support to help manage the thoughts and feelings that take over and store within me. But several times in my progress, I have had setbacks; many being the overflow of not observing, in private, the gradual buildup of the hurtful, impactful emotions which consequently spewed into some, more public, relapses of destructive behavior. " Brown added that it's important to remember that "progress in mental health is a journey with hills and valleys. Our whole world has been through a valley of fear and hurt this year. Be gentle with yourself. Be humble during the process. You aren't going to always get it right and you will make mistakes, but you—just as you are, are enough. You matter. Ask for help. You are worthy of being able to answer the 'are you happy?' question and to say yes, regardless of the circumstances that would usually take your mind and soul captive. You got this. We've got this. You aren't alone." Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Aly Raisman
The Olympic gold medalist spoke out publicly for the first time in October 2020 about her struggles with OCD during an episode of the “Armchair Expert” podcast. "I always thought OCD was I have to touch this x amount of times or I have to do this x amount of times before I leave the room, but I've also learned that OCD is classified with ruminating thoughts or obsessive thoughts or catastrophic thinking," she explained to host Dax Shepard. "I have that and I'm really trying to work on that right now because sometimes our minds go to our worst-case scenario. " The gymnast revealed that it’s not as easy as simply telling yourself to have a positive mindset. "I feel like for people who don't understand it, they're like, ‘Just don't think about it.' It does not work like that!" she said. "It's so hard because I've been trying to really educate myself on how our minds work just so I can help myself but also just so I can better talk about it and better understand it on a personal level with my family or my friends but also on a public level as well." The Fierce author has continually tried to educate herself on OCD and chose to discuss her personal struggles in hopes of helping others who suffer from the same thing. "So much of the time, our minds don't really realize what's made up and what's real and that's what I struggle with so much is that fight or flight response where it can be something so small and my body is reacting as if a tiger is trying to eat me," she explained. "In my opinion, it relates to trauma and PTSD. Unless you're getting to the root of the problem of why you are not feeling safe or out of control, you're going to keep having OCD and it's going to manifest into other ways of your life." Noah Cyrus
Cyrus celebrated the two-year anniversary of her first EP, “Good Cry” in September 2020, and revealed all of the ups and downs she’s experienced since its release. “I’ve been through so much since then. Putting this ep out and going on tour during one of the most depressive times in my life was so hard,” the musician explained via Instagram. “Every day felt like lifting 100lb weights just to get out of bed. The ache in my chest from the pain felt unbearable. At 18 I didn’t think I was going to be here for a 20th birthday soon to be 21. They felt 1000 years away.” The “Again” singer revealed that she was “so sad, so hurt and so scared” during that time before thanking those who were by her side “during all of my progression and the times where I felt like I was regressing.” Cyrus continued: “Every day is work when it comes to your mental health and personal battles. Not every day is going to be hell and not every day is going to be perfect. I’m still figuring that out. Thank you Cyrens for being patient.”  The “July” artist thanked her fans for “understanding” how “hard” it was for Cyrus to grow up in the public eye, before going into more detail about how important the EP is to her. “I always have written nothing but the truth and this ep was exactly that. I still stand with needing a good f--kin cry every once in awhile. I know that pain is something we HAVE to feel and experience,” she continued. “I owe this album so much. It tought [sic] me so much about myself... and looking back at myself then to show I am now I just want to run back in time and give that Noah a huge ass hug.. as she was breaking ever so slowly. I’m so happy that I was able to create something that everyone relates to... I turned the pain into something beautiful that others can sing, cry, or smile to and nothing makes me feel more purposeful than that. I love you all thank you so much for everything.” Steve Meddle/Shutterstock
Millie Bobby Brown
The Emmy nominee opened up about her struggle with anxiety during a candid interview with Glamour UK in August 2020, noting that staying creative helps change her mood. "When I'm having a bad day or I’m feeling very anxious, some things like when people say, 'Oh, you looked bad at this award show because you looked like this or you looked like that,' those things make me a little bit more anxious and that hinders me a little bit more," she said. "I have learned to manage it in ways that a lot of people learn to manage things like breathing exercises or distracting your mind and my hobbies help distract me from being anxious. ... I have to give myself love because that’s important. Everyone has to empower themselves." David Fisher/Shutterstock
Katy Perry
The “Roar” singer revealed during an August 2020 interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe that during her 30s she hit a wall when she was no longer able to fix her bouts of depression by writing songs about her pain. "I broke up with my boyfriend. My expectations weren't met and the world didn't want to hear from me anymore at that moment," she said looking back at the years in her life that “everything changed” for her. "They were like, 'That's enough. Thank you very much. You've given us something and we're good.' And I just couldn't get out of bed for weeks and became clinically depressed and had to get on medication for the first time in my life." Perry explained that once she was on medication she was “so ashamed of it. I was like, 'I'm Katy Perry. I wrote 'Firework.' I'm on medication. This is f---ed up.'" The singer’s upcoming Smile album gave her the professional and personal comeback she needed. "The last two-and-a-half years have been a psychological, spiritual, emotional journey of just pulling the petrified poison out of my body and rewiring my neural pathways and that negative thought ticker that keeps coming says, 'You're just lucky. You're just cute. You're not really good. You're not very talented. You're lucky. You're just lucky,' or, 'You're not worth it. You're not good enough. You're getting old. You're fat,' all that s--t," she recalled. "I figured out how to quiet it the f---k down.” imageSPACE/Shutterstock
Tallulah Willis
In July 2020, the daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis shared her battle with depression and suicidal thoughts. “A lethal combination of untreated severe chemical imbalance/depression, harmful coping mechanisms and certain debilitating traumas has me questioning if I wanted to continue this life,” she wrote via Instagram. “To have suicidal ideation to me, is to feel there is an unpredictable and unstoppable threat living within your body. In far too often moments, I felt the pain was too overwhelming to keep going. I begged to be saved from my own mind. I am unfathomably lucky that by some unseen force I did not take action on these thoughts.” Tallulah urged those who are “hurting or questioning harming themselves” to call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. Paris Jackson
After moving in with her grandmother after her dad's death in 2009, the model/musician turned down a dark path. "I gained a lot of weight and food became an addiction," Jackson revealed during an episode of her Unfiltered: Paris Jackson & Gabriel Glenn series in June 2020. "And then a cousin called me fat and I was like, 'OK, I can't do that anymore.' And that's how I fell into self-harm." Jackson explained that she would physical hurt herself as a "distraction from emotional pain" and that she tried to take her own life "many times." While she continues to take "baby steps" on her journey to self-love, she admitted that she wants to be an advocate for "self-acceptance and courage and being comfortable in your own skin." Brie Larson
The Oscar winner shared in July 2020 that she suffered from anxiety. “For me, my baseline has been I’m an introvert with asthma. Like, that’s been my story for myself. I’m introverted, I’m scared, I have social anxiety,” she explained in a YouTube video on her channel. “And through, in particular, playing Captain Marvel, that like kind of wiped clean those titles I had for myself and made me go, ‘Whoa, I’m not really that anymore.’” Shutterstock
Kelly Clarkson
“I suffer from depression,” the American Idol alum told Demi Lovato on The Kelly Clarkson Show in June 2020 in the midst of her divorce from Brandon Blackstock. “I think a lot of people, especially in the creative world, or just from childhood, you’ve been kind of trained to, like, just keep going and you can handle it. Especially as a woman, it’s like, ‘Don’t let ‘em see you sweat.’ ... I think that’s a daily thing that you work at and a daily thing that I work at.” YouTube
Selena Gomez
The “Rare” singer has been vocal about her struggles with depression and her mental health in the past, but she revealed in April 2020 that she has bipolar disorder. “Recently, I went to one of the best mental hospitals in the world … And I discussed that after years of going through a lot of different things I realized that I was bipolar,” Gomez admitted on Bright Minded: Live With Miley. “When I have more information, it actually helps me, it doesn’t scare me once I know it … When I finally said what I was going to say, I wanted to know everything about it and it took the fear away.”  The Disney Channel alum added, “When I was younger, I was scared of thunderstorms and my mom bought me all these books on thunderstorms and she was like, ‘The more you educate yourself on this, the more that you’re not going to be afraid.’ It completely worked. That’s something that helps me big time.” Willy Sanjuan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Taraji P. Henson
“I suffer from depression,” the Empire star said in an April 2019 interview with Variety. “My anxiety is kicking up even more every day, and I’ve never really dealt with anxiety like that. It’s something new.” Henson also revealed that she talks to a therapist regularly: “Their job is to make sure you’re mentally sound, whatever that is, and telling you the truth, which might hurt. Sometimes your friends don’t want to hurt your feelings. If I’m going to change for the better, I need honesty, and sometimes your friends and family don’t have it in them to be brutally honest.” In a December 2019 interview with SELF, Henson elaborated on the telltale signs that she needed help: “I noticed the mood swings — like, one day I’d be up, and the next day I’d be down, feeling like I don’t want to go out in public. Almost agoraphobic, like, ‘Ugh, too much to deal with.’ Feeling really awkward in my skin, feeling out of sorts, and just down, like Debbie Downer, like a dark cloud. And then there would be days where my brain wouldn’t stop racing. I would think of the worst scenarios in the world, which would heighten my anxiety.” Michael Loccisano/Getty Images
Kaitlyn Bristowe
The former Bachelorette star opened up on her “Off the Vine” podcast in November 2019 about how she often suffers from debilitating anxiety and revealed that her dog has helped her cope. “[My anxiety] left me laying on the floor this one night in my house, not wanting to even talk to Jason until it passed,” she said, referencing her boyfriend Jason Tartick. “I felt my anxiety coming on — immediately went looking for my dog, Ramen, who is really the only one that keeps me calm when I experience being close to a panic attack and when I feel that pain or heat in my chest.” imageSPACE/Shutterstock
Kristen Bell
During a revealing interview on Sunday Today With Willie Geist in November 2019, the Frozen 2 star opened up about feeling "incredibly irresponsible" for not being more honest about her mental health struggles in the past. “Everyone thinks there’s some shame in it ... I am someone who takes a medication for her anxiety and depression. I am someone who has to check myself and sometimes — if I’m feeling really low — make a checklist of good and bad things in my life to see if it’s my mental state or if we really have a problem. And me talking about that actually came from [my husband, Dax Shepard] — ugh, I hate to give him credit for everything, it’s so annoying that he’s so right about everything.” Rob Latour/Shutterstock
Tia Mowry
“I didn’t want to admit it,” the actress told Romper of her postpartum depression in November 2019. “It was that shame.” But after she opened up to her sister, husband and friends, they became her “support system.” She explained, “When I was sad or going through my emotions, I would talk about it. I didn’t suppress them. I think that helped.” Media Punch/INSTARimages.com
Shia LaBeouf
Speaking with the Hollywood Reporter’s “Awards Chatter” podcast in October 2019, the actor opened up about how his years as a Disney Channel star contributed to his mental health issues. “It was the first time I’d been told I had PSTD,” he said, recalling his experience in rehab after his 2017 arrest. “I just thought I was an alcoholic, like, a true-blue drunk and I needed to deal with that. I knew it was an issue but didn’t know there was this extra whole other thing that was hindering my ability to have any peace in my life and my ability to deal with people.” imageSPACE for the Mill Valley Film Festival/Shutterstock

“Sadly, I separated from my lovely first husband [Tony Walton]. And separations were always inevitable and the marriage was over and my head was so full of clutter and garbage. Believe it or not, it was [director] Mike Nichols who really tipped me into wanting to go to therapy,” the Sound of Music star recalled on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in October 2019. “He had been, and he was, so sane and funny and clear. He had a clarity that I admired so much. I wanted that for myself. And I didn’t feel I had it, so I went and got into it, and it saved my life, in a way.” Jim Smeal/Shutterstock

“I deleted this post earlier, because honestly I’m personally struggling with my mental health right now, and the words I wrote fell flat when I read them,” the Bachelor alum captioned an October 2019 Instagram post. “How could I say these things to others when I didn’t/don’t believe them about myself? I deleted the post, walked to the room down the hall, opened the door, and told Tanner, ‘I’m not OK.’ Lean on those you love, ask for help. You are not a burden.” Roper went on to tell Us exclusively, “As much as there is so much joy [in motherhood], there’s so much extra that’s sometimes overwhelming. Talk to your loved ones. Let them know what you’re going through because there is help and there is hope.” Courtesy of Jade Roper/Instagram
Jonathan Van Ness
The Queer Eye star opened up about his mental health struggles in his memoir, Over the Top. The hairstylist, who came out as HIV positive in his book, told The New York Times in September 2019 that he suffered from “compounded trauma.” The next month, he exclusively told Us Weekly that he’s an advocate for therapy and has a “great therapist.” He also shared that, sometimes, saying no to socializing can positively impact mental health. The grooming guru said: “I think learning to like your own company and making time to be quiet and spend time with yourself, even if that’s like a morning here or a night there, just having that time to be quiet with yourself, I think is really important.” Janet Mayer/Startraksphoto.com
Alanis Morissette
Two months after her son Winter’s August 2019 birth, the Grammy winner opened up about her third experience with postpartum depression. “PPD is still a sneaky monkey with a machete working its way through my psyche and body and days and thoughts and bloodwork levels,” Morissette wrote in a blog post. "[I've] been here before. ... The other side is greater than my PPD-riddled-temporarily-adjusted-brain could have ever imagined: as a mom, as an artist, as a wife, as a friend, as a collaborator, as a leader, as a boss, as an activist. I saw how things got richer after I came through it the last two times. I have my eye on that prize again even as I drag my ass through the molasses.” Courtesy of Alanis Morissette/Instagram

After her son Ozgood's traumatic home birth in 2017, the actress was prescribed a low does of Zoloft to battle her depression. “It took me to a place where I could be. I could just be,” the Bless This Mess star said on "The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet" podcast in September 2019. “It was rational. I needed to just be Lake and I felt, finally like, I could breathe the air that Lake breaths, not like some other person that I don’t recognize.” Shutterstock
Delilah Belle Hamlin
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed to fans in an Instagram Story in June 2019 that she's been to rehab twice for depression. “I started attracting negative people into my life because my thoughts were so negative,” she wrote in the post. “I got trapped in a severely unhealthy relationship that pushed me over the edge. I couldn’t get out of the relationship because I thought I was deserving of it.” After asking mom Lisa Rinna for help, Hamlin said that she was able to get the care she needed at a facility: “I worked through traumas, and self love [sic],” she recalled. “But most importantly I learned what self respect [sic] meant.” Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic
James Middleton
Duchess Kate and Pippa Middleton’s younger brother, James, opened up about his depression to Tatler magazine in June 2019, explaining that his struggles were in part due to pressures to live up to his famous siblings. "Suddenly, and very publicly, I was being judged about whether I was a success or a failure,” he said. The entrepreneur, who had previously discussed his struggles with the Daily Mail in January, added of his depression, “It’s what keeps you in bed, while anxiety makes you feel guilty for being there. I thought, ‘What do I have to be depressed about?’ I’ve been so lucky with my upbringing, I had all the things I wanted. It’s not that I wanted more, but there was something that wasn’t always there ... And the more I ignored it, the more it was taking over.’” James said that after undergoing therapy and stepping back from his position at his company Boomf to spend time on brother-in-law James Matthews’ Scottish estate in Glen Affric, he is doing better: “I am happy – I feel like James Middleton again. I feel like I was when I was 13, excited about life. I feel like myself again and I couldn’t ask for more." Sebastian Reuter/Getty Images for GQ Germany
Halsey
In a July 2019 cover story in Rolling Stone, the “Without Me” singer, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, confessed that she’s been committed twice since taking on her alter ego of Halsey. “It’s been my choice,” she told the magazine. “I’ve said to [my manager], ‘Hey, I’m not going to do anything bad right now, but I’m getting to the point where I’m scared that I might, so I need to go figure this out.’ It’s still happening in my body. I just know when to get in front of it.” Halsey also revealed that her next album is the first one she’s ever written while experiencing mania due to her bipolar disorder, which she was diagnosed with at the age of 17. “I'm depressed and there’s no one I can talk to because there’s nothing anyone can do about it,” the singer wrote in an Instagram video on June 2019. “Life hurts.” She shared in the caption, "I self-love so hard because everything feels like rejection... it feel like the whole world be ghostin [sic] me sometimes. Sad af today. But this too shall pass." The next day, the Big Grrrl Small World artist posted a tear-filled video. "I used sadness so constructively in the last two years. ... I've used sadness as a tool for gratitude," she explained during her statement. The rapper continued her thoughts in the caption: "I learned in the last 24hrs that being emotionally honest can save your life. Gina Rodriguez

Life will be easier. All the woes will be away, all the problems. Then I wouldn't have to fail or succeed, right? Then all this surmounting pressure would go away,” she said. The singer appears in a PSA for Seize the Awkward, which was released in May 2019. In the video, she encourages fans to prioritize their mental health. “It doesn’t make you weak to ask for help. It doesn’t,” she says in the ad. “It doesn’t make you weak to ask for a friend to go to a therapist. It shouldn’t make you feel weak to ask anyone for help. And you should be able to ask anyone for help, everyone has to help someone if they need it.” Rich Fury/Getty Images for Coachella
Maisie Williams
The Game of Thrones star opened about her struggle with mental illness on the “Happy Place” podcast in May 2019. “Last year, in my own personal life, I think I just went through a lot of real revelations where I was like I'm not very happy doing this and pretending everything was fine,” Williams explained. “And so, that wasn't a public thing, but after going through that, now I've sort of tried to be a lot more genuine and it just becomes a lot more relaxing after that, I think. You just drop it all and that's when you can really have fun." Although the British actress has made strides in her mental health journey, she sometimes struggles. ”I still lay in bed at like eleven o'clock at night telling myself all the things I hate about myself,” she noted. “There's still a journey, I think. But at least dropping the act and just being who you truly are, I think that's definitely a first step; not trying to be who you want me to be right now in this moment.”  Charles McQuillan/Getty Images

The “Bounce Back” rapper spoke candidly about his struggles in March 2019 ahead of his 31st birthday. “Around this time last year, around my birthday, it was good for me, but it was wild for me too because I felt like something wasn’t all the way connecting with my energy. I wasn’t feeling like myself and I couldn’t figure out why,” Sean said in a series of Instagram posts at the time. “I stepped back from everything I was doing, from everything I had going on because somewhere in the middle of it, I just felt lost. I started therapy. I got a good therapist. I was blessed enough to talk to some super spiritual people and they made me realize one thing that I was missing in my life. And one thing I was missing was clarity. Everything Cheryl Burke Has Said About Her Sobriety Journey

Posted: 07 Jan 2022 10:05 AM PST

The long and winding road. Cheryl Burke has been vocal about her highs and lows while dealing with her sobriety, beginning in 2018 when she quit drinking.

The Dancing With the Stars pro revealed she was two years sober in September 2020, pointing to big life changes, including her engagement to Matthew Lawrence and her father's death as the catalyst for change.

The same year, Burke was partnered with AJ McLean, whose own journey to sobriety has lasted nearly 20 years, on Dancing With the Stars. The Backstreet Boys musician opened up about his partner's approach to getting clean in an exclusive blog for Us Weekly in October 2020.

"She is a very, very interesting human being. She has been through a lot in her life and has come out the other side gleaming," he wrote. "Her sobriety is amazing to me, especially in this business that we're both in, it's difficult. It's difficult to get sober, No. 1. It's even more difficult to stay sober and hats off to her for staying sober for now over two years. I see her staying sober, hopefully, for the rest of her life. It's a one day at a time thing, or as she says, one step at a time."

Eight months later, Burke got real about her struggle with staying sober during an episode of her and McLean's "Pretty Messed Up" podcast. She explained during the June 2021 episode that she's felt like drinking "a lot lately." The former Dancing With the Stars: Junior mentor told her cohost and their friend Rene Elizondo Jr. that she's become "codependent" on the men and their openness.

"I look forward to these conversations of sobriety, of AJ talking about your ups and downs in life, if it's been rough at times, and you Rene, being that voice of God," she said. "For some reason, I was thinking, 'What if this was all over one day?' And I had so much anxiety."

Burke noted that her "only real sober friends that are in [an AA] program," admitting that she "starts to question" her commitment to sobriety when she's not around them. She eventually asked Elizondo Jr. to be her sponsor, taking another step toward staying accountable for her actions. The dancer also explained why she chose to talk about her fears of relapsing on air, revealing, "I have to say it, otherwise I will drink."

Scroll down to see everything Burke has said about her sobriety journey:

2 Years Sober
The professional dancer revealed in September 2020 that she is “two years” sober, cutting out alcohol in 2018 after getting engaged to the Boy Meets World alum. “It was just a decision that I made for myself,” she said on the “Lady Gang” podcast. “And it was when Matt and I got engaged and it was during that engagement party that we were just like — or that I was like, he didn’t even know — I was just like, I was done.” Shutterstock
Family Trait
“My father passed away — and then my dad was an alcoholic — so either I was gonna crash and burn and check myself into rehab or I was gonna just quit cold turkey,” Burke told the “Lady Gang” cohosts in September 2020. “That’s just my personality. It’s either black or white.” Jim Smeal/Shutterstock
Someone to Lean On
The Dance Moms alum credited her husband, therapy and daily meditation as keys to her successfully staying sober over the years. “He is just my rock. I don’t know where I would be without him,” she said on Good Morning America in October 2020 of Lawrence. “When you make a decision, a big decision, a life-altering decision, your friends will change. And, you know, some people will support it. Some people won’t. And at the end of the day, you have to be OK with this.” Shutterstock
Drinking on the Job
The Dancing With the Stars pro reflected on a season 10 incident in 2010 as one of the bigger turning points for her addiction. “One season I danced with Chad ‘OchoCinco’ [Johnson]. There was something in my head and I had never experienced it before,” she recalled during an October 2020 episode of her “Pretty Messed Up” podcast. “I wasn’t drunk, I wasn’t hungover, but it was still when I was drinking. I remember messing up on my choreography. It was this crazy voice in my head saying, ‘Go the other way, go the other way.’ I butchered my routine when I’m supposed to be there for the celebrity.” Following that “traumatic” experience, Burke revealed that she “drank way more” because she was “scared of that voice” in her head. “I was self-sabotaging and from then on, I felt like my career plummeted down,” she explained. “I would have to drink before I saw anybody. I would never start [drinking] with everybody — I would start by myself at home.” ABC/Eric McCandless
Dancing With Addiction
The California native has spoken about her Dancing With the Stars partnership with McLean on multiple occasions, including how their bond has helped her through her sober journey. “We’re definitely both addicts and just trying to be the best version of ourselves we can be,” she admitted during a November 2020 show package, turning to the boy bander. Two months prior, Burke exclusively told Us that the pair’s rehearsals often turn into “therapy talks” in the ballroom. “I always believe that people come into your lives because it’s either a reflection of who you are or who you want to be or who you’re trying not to be,” she said at the time. “But there’s always this reason. There’s a reason for this energy and energy coming together. … AJ is just a reflection of who I am at times, which is someone who tries to control the situation. I’m seeing him and I’m like, ‘Oh, my gosh, this is what I do!'” ABC/Kelsey McNeal
Social Drinking
“I don’t think I ever drank socially,” Burke told her “Pretty Messed Up” podcast cohosts during a December 2020 episode. “I drank for a reaction, which was to numb myself and to be more social. It was never just to have one cocktail. I don’t think I’ve ever had that. It was every day for me. When people drink waters, that was my vodka sodas, actually.” Shutterstock
Vacation Temptation
The dance teacher opened up in June 2021 about a recent shake in her confidence when it came to staying sober, telling her podcast listeners that while on vacation with Lawrence in Hawaii she almost drank. She explained that room service sent a bottle of champagne up to the couple’s room because they didn’t know she didn’t drink and after her husband took a few sips, she admitted, “never have I ever been triggered in the last two and a half years until that day.” Burke revealed that the “same thing” happened when she went to friend’s birthday. She noted that she even told her sister at the time, “I’m two seconds away [from drinking].” The DWTS pro explained that she “can’t just have one” drink and “might as well just go into this rabbit hole for a couple of weeks,” where no one will find her. She added: “I have a lot of personal stuff going on right now at the moment, and so it’s been very … I feel like I’m walking on a really tight rope at the moment. Therapy’s not working right now.” Courtesy of Cheryl Burke/Instagram
Help From Her Friends
Burke revealed in July 2021 that she had attended her first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting after consulting with her podcast cohosts, McLean and Elizondo Jr. "The thought of having to be with a new group of strangers in a way really ate me alive," she said during an interview with Good Morning America. "I deal with a lot of social anxiety, but I realized that I needed to be able to hear other people's stories, other people who struggle with alcoholism and addiction." She also admitted that she previously drank before interviews and red carpet appearances, but has since turned to meditation practice to help her get ready for public events. "Normally I would drink before any major red carpet event or anything to do with any type of public speaking or appearances," she said. "I would drink before an interview like this." Asked what she did before her GMA interview, Burke replied, "Just put more makeup on my face. Played with my hair. I meditated actually right before as well. I just have to breathe and know that everything's gonna be OK." Shutterstock (2)
Dancing Fears
Burke revealed how her sobriety tied to her season 30 DWTS nerves during an Instagram video in September 2021. “Of course, I’m nervous. Of course, I have my thoughts getting the best of me. I am nervous. I am feeling insecure, and I am scared. I want you to know, since being sober this has been really scary for me,” she said. “This whole process — I am so clear headed. I am really, honestly grateful for this opportunity. But to say that I don’t have these insecurities, [or] my body dysmorphia [or] my feeling of wanting to throw up or finding the nearest exit [that] is definitely a lie.” Stewart Cook/Shutterstock
Support System
After marking three years of sobriety, Burke wrote an essay exclusively for Us, explaining how "being public about my struggle made me hold myself accountable." She noted in September 2021, "It's been really powerful – when I started sharing more, the [COVID-19] pandemic was in full force, and a lot of people were falling down that dark hole. ... The response from fans and people who have come across our podcast and my YouTube channel has been uplifting. It makes me want to read comments, which I've usually avoided. I love hearing other people's stories. The best way to learn is by listening to other people's stories, and realizing you are not alone." Broadimage/Shutterstock
Facing Fears
Burke admitted that sharing her journey has been "scary," especially as DWTS prepared to kick off its 30th season. "It's been interesting for me to actually feel the feelings that are happening," she told Entertainment Tonight of performing while sober. "It's almost been a whole new experience, in a good way." Courtesy of Cheryl Burke/Instagram
How Bad It Got
"I made promises to myself I would never drink alone, then that started to go away," Burke said during an October 2021 interview with Elizabeth Vargas. "Or I wouldn't drink before 5 p.m., no drinking on weekdays. It just never stopped. It became so that my tolerance was just nothing got me drunk. I was a functioning drunk for sure." She also further detailed the feelings she was experiencing earlier in the year that made her feel like drinking again. "[It's] that question mark of just, 'How long can I live as a dancer?'" she said, noting that her 37th birthday had been a trigger. "Let's be real here, a lot of women in their early 30s retire. This is not a sport that you could last forever, and especially as a woman. And nor do I want to be that person who looks old grandma over here barely kicking her leg up." ABC/Eric McCandless
Too Clear-Headed
Following a November 2021 episode of DWTS, Burke told Us and other reporters that she feels more insecure while sober. "My journey of sobriety has really opened my eyes up and I am now clear-headed almost to a fault because now my thoughts are louder than ever," she shared at the time. "That's honestly the reason why I used to drink. So now ... it's kind of like I'm reliving the same experience but in a different way. I'm very present. I think that has brought up a lot of insecurities and having to deal with those issues — whether it be for the choreography or maybe it's something that has triggered something from the past, who knows?" 3 Years Sober
During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Burke reflected on the lessons she learned about herself since getting sober. "When I was drinking, I kind of used that as a numbing device," she explained in January 2022. "For me, dancing was my way of expressing my emotion without talking. So when I stopped drinking, I realized that I have social anxiety. It was just this whole thing of numbing my feelings and not wanting to really go out there in the world like that." Burke continued: "Like I love doing my art but then having to talk or whatever, it was really nerve-racking. I used drinking as something for me to be more outgoing and I thought it would maybe give me confidence. But it just did the opposite." Weiss Eubanks/NBCUniversal

Colton Underwood and Jordan C. Brown’s Relationship Timeline

Posted: 07 Jan 2022 08:48 AM PST

Happiness achieved. Colton Underwood was once scared to be his true self, but he found love with boyfriend Jordan C. Brown after embracing his identity.

Bachelor Nation first met the former NFL player when he competed on Becca Kufrin's season 14 of The Bachelorette in 2018. After failing to form a lasting connection with the Minnesota native, Underwood moved on to season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise but again left the show single. He ultimately got his opportunity to hand out the roses when he starred as the Bachelor during season 23, which aired in 2019.

Underwood fell for Cassie Randolph on the show, and the two decided to date after the season wrapped instead of getting engaged. However, they announced their split in May 2020. Although they vowed to remain friends, things quickly turned messy.

Randolph was granted a restraining order against the Indiana native in September 2020 after she accused him of "stalking and harassing her." He told Us Weekly in a November 2020 statement that his ex filed to dismiss the order after they reached "a private agreement to address any of Cassie's concerns."

Months after the drama, Underwood came out as gay in an April 2021 Good Morning America interview. "I've ran from myself for a long time, I've hated myself for a long time," he said. "I'm gay. I came to terms with that earlier this year, and the next step in all of this was sort of letting people know. … I'm the happiest and healthiest I've ever been in my life. That means the world to me."

The Coming Out Colton star hoped to form an "emotional connection" with a man in the future. "I've never allowed myself to," he shared. "It's never been, sort of, in my cards to let myself get there and I want to more than anything. … I'm looking for someone who can push me and challenge me in all the great ways."

Us confirmed in September 2021 that Underwood is dating Brown. Three months later, the TV personality explained why his show Coming Out Colton did not include his relationship.

"I have been through that. I have done that," he told Us of documenting his dating life. "Even going into the show, that was one of the conversations with the production company. … I'm not in a space right now to really, like, put myself out there like that. I had a lot of self-discovery to do."

Underwood has not ruled out documenting his romance with Brown on a reality show, though. "I don't want to speak in definitives right now because as I learned, I'm growing and I want to give myself space to really explore new things at the moment. I've definitely drawn boundaries on that. Having a public relationship, for me, was not healthy," he said. "I just think right now I'm really sort of protecting and guarding what I have."

Sidney Poitier Dead: 1st Black Best Actor Oscar Winner Dies at 94

Posted: 07 Jan 2022 08:45 AM PST

Legendary and boundary-breaking actor Sidney Poitier has died at the age of 94.

Two politicians from the Bahamas, the native country of the Separate but Equal star’s family, announced the news on Friday, January 7. Poitier’s cause of death has not been made public.

Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper told Us Weekly in a statement that he felt “conflicted with great sadness and a sense of celebration” after learning of the Hollywood star’s passing. “Sadness that he would no longer be here to tell him how much he means to us, but celebration that he did so much to show the world that those from the humblest beginnings can change the world and that we gave him his flowers while he was with us,” he noted.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Fred Mitchell told ABC News on Friday, “We’ve lost a great Bahamian and I’ve lost a personal friend.”

Poitier was known for his work in Porgy and Bess, A Raisin in the Sun, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, In the Heat of the Night and To Sir, With Love. He became the first Black man to win the Oscar for best actor for his performance in 1963’s Lilies of the Field and later received an honorary Academy Award in 2002 to celebrate his lifelong contribution to the arts.

When Denzel Washington took home his best actor Oscar that same year — becoming only the second Black man in history to do so — he paid his respects to Poitier on stage.

“I’ll always be chasing you, Sidney,” the Training Day star said during his acceptance speech. “I’ll always be following in your footsteps. There’s nothing I would rather do, sir.”

Poitier retired from performing in 1997 and went on to serve as the non-resident Bahamian ambassador to Japan until 2007. Two years later, he was presented with a Presidential Medal of Freedom by then-President Barack Obama.

Throughout his impressive career, the Defiant Ones star was nominated for 10 Golden Globes, two of which he won. He also received the awards shows’ prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award in 1981. Poitier was a two-time Grammy nominee, winning Best Spoken Word Album for The Measure of a Man in 2001, and a two-time Emmy nominee.

In 1974, the activist was dubbed Honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II. His other accolades include the 2000 SAG Life Achievement Award and a Kennedy Center Honor, which he received in 1995.

Poitier is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joanna Shimkus, and their two daughters: Anika and Sydney Tamii. He also shared daughters Beverly, Pamela, Sherri and Gina with ex-wife Juanita Hardy. His family tree continues with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mendes, 23, and Cabello, 24, were spotted out with their dog, Tarzan, in Miami on Thursday, January 6, according to a video obtained by TMZ. In the clip, the exes appeared on friendly terms while spending some quality time with their golden retriever.

The “Havana” singer and the Canada native initially went public with their relationship in 2019 after five years of friendship. They shocked fans when they announced their split in November 2021.

"Hey guys, we've decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever,” they wrote in a joint Instagram statement at the time. “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward. Camila and Shawn."

Shortly after the news made headlines, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the Cuba native and the “Stitches” performer have been “staying in touch” after the breakup, adding, “It wouldn't surprise anyone if they just take a breather, enjoy the holidays then look to get back together down the line.”

The insider noted that the twosome’s loved ones saw the end of their romance coming, saying, “Their friends are all pretty much of the opinion that it was a classic case of too much, too soon. The attention became overwhelming, and it did irritate them, Shawn in particular, to keep getting grilled on how serious they were and whether or not they were going to get engaged.”

Ahead of their split, the Cinderella star discussed how therapy played an important role in strengthening their relationship.

"For better, for worse, we're very transparent with each other. I think that's why we can trust each other so much, because it's a very 3D human relationship," she told Glamour in her October 2021 cover story. "I'll be venting or ranting about something, and he'll be like, 'Have you talked to X about it?' And I'll be like, 'No. I've got to do a session.' And he'll do the same thing to me. I think even just the language of being like, 'Hey, I'm sorry that I've been distant with you or snappy with you. I'm just struggling and I'm feeling kind of anxious.' That level of transparency really helps a lot."

Mendes, for his part, shared how they gave each other an “extreme amount of patience and understanding” when handling tough issues.

"I think the truth is that when you're struggling with mental health, it turns you sometimes into the version of yourself that you don't like to be — and kind of loving and accepting your person through that, and being there for them through that, is life-changing. We give each other so much space and understanding and patience," he detailed to Glamour.

"I love animals, but he has reptiles,” Burke, 37, revealed during a Wednesday, January 5, interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, joking that their relationship works because "opposites attract."

The Dance Moms alum further explained, "He has 45-50 reptiles that live beneath us. No snakes: That was the deal, no snakes. But when we dated a little over a decade ago, I knew I would be marrying a guy who loves reptiles."

The Brotherly Love alum, 41, has frequently introduced fans to his reptiles via a series of Instagram Live videos, titled, "Mr. Reptile Man: Backyard Confessions."

"I was born with this in me to love reptiles and amphibians," Lawrence previously explained during an October 2020 appearance on his wife's "Pretty Messed Up" podcast. "I don't have any other explanation other than my earliest memories are the feelings of a lizard or a salamander squirming through my hands or tree frogs. [I love] nature in general."

He continued at the time: "[My love of reptiles] was reinforced by three or four. I was [working for Disney] and not a normal kid. I further put my emphasis on my relationships with the animals in my life versus the people because that was a real respect and a real true love."

Burke told host Kelly Clarkson earlier this week that her husband has iguanas that "look like alligators" in addition to a French bulldog that they share, who the professional dancer refers to as her "baby."

"I’m like, ‘Stay far away!'” Burke, who frequently posts snaps of the dog via her Instagram, jokingly added. "She's an indoorsy-type dog, likes to go on walks, but stays away from the cages."

The couple, who wed in May 2019, welcomed their puppy amid the coronavirus pandemic to help prepare them for eventual parenthood.

"This is a perfect test with our little dog," Burke told Us Weekly in August 2020. "At least with kids, we can put a diaper on him, but these dogs, they just squat and that's it. Screwed. Totally."

Before welcoming their Frenchie into their brood, the Boy Meets World alum made their California residence a haven for their four-legged friends.

"Matt's moved in now, but now he's moving in his animals because he has a lot of animals, so he's been busy," the ballroom dancer exclusively told Us in September 2018 about her then-fiancé. "He's building a zoo in my house for the animals. The tortoises just came over and the baby tortoises. The 25-foot-long iguana's on its way. He's building, like, a gated, cage. I come home sometimes at midnight, and he's down there working … I'm marrying his iguana and his tortoises!"
