Chloe Kim Gets In Olympic-Level Shape With These Exercise Moves

The 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing are fast approaching and Chloe Kim isn't going unprepared. The 21-year-old Korean-American snowboarder won gold at the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang and is making sure she's just as strong for this year's competitions.

If you're wondering what a top athlete does to get in Olympic-level shape, Kim shared some of her workout moves on Instagram and, as expected, they're tough! Strength and conditioning expert Mike Clancy told Self, "These are very advanced movements. The percentage of the population that could actually do these correctly and effectively is small."

One-Legged Pistol Squat

One of Kim's go-to exercise moves is the one-legged pistol squat. Clancy described this as "one of the most complicated movements" and it's done by lowering yourself on one leg, with the other leg stretched out in front of you.

How does this help Kim in her sport? Amy Gan, a snowboard instructor, said that "a strong, stabilized core is key to nailing spins on the halfpipe. You need a strong core in order to bring your feet close to your chest and grab your board as you spin in the air."

Single-Leg Lateral Lunge

Next, the Olympic gold medalist showed us the single-leg lateral lunge, which is a side-to-side movement that "targets the inner and outer thighs, and can help improve your coordination and correct any weaknesses or muscle imbalances you may have," according to Self.

When it comes to snowboarding, Gan said, "Landing wrong in the halfpipe is like falling from a second-story building. Having a strong, well-rounded core and lower-body muscles will help you better handle that [impact] and protect you from injury."

Plank Knee Tuck With A Twist

Kim also posted an Instagram photo of herself doing the plank knee tuck with a twist. According to Clancy, "The twisting motion of the knee [tuck] works both the internal and external obliques [the muscles along the sides of your abdominals] and also contracts your deep spinal muscles that wrap around your core."

How does that help Kim in her sport? Gan said, "You have to really wind yourself up before you pop off the lip [the top edge] of the pipe, and much of that power comes from contracting your upper body and your obliques."

Spinning

In an article on Popsugar, Kim said that her daily training also includes three hours of practice on the halfpipe in the morning, after which she takes a lunch break. In the afternoon, she snowboards some more then hits the gym.

The athlete considers her gym session, which includes "light core, a little cardio" as well as stretching, as "her form of recovery."

"I hop on a bike for about 20 minutes to flush my legs out," she said, noting that spinning sessions benefit her knees, which she injured some years ago.

Euphoria may be a a major hit for HBO but that doesn't mean it has been free from comparisons. In fact, since its premiere in June 2019, the Zendaya-led and Sam Levinson-directed teen drama has frequently been compared to Netflix's 13 Reasons Why, which premiered in March 2017 and released its final episode in June 2020.

Although the shows both have characters in similar stages, and both are based on books, there are also a number of differences. And, depending on what viewers prefer, not everyone will enjoy both series.

Twitter Seems To Think 'Euphoria' Is The Better Of The Two

On the heels of Euphoria's second season premiere, which was released on HBO on Sunday, January 9, Twitter appears to be in an uproar over whether it or 13 Reasons Why is better. And, a lot of people seem to think that Euphoria is the better of the two.

"Euphoria hits the way 13 Reasons Why wished it did," one person on Twitter told their followers.

Another fan agreed with the idea, saying, "Euphoria is what 13 Reasons Why thought it was."

Both Shows Addressed Controversial Topics

In addition to stating their "vote" for the best show between Euphoria and 13 Reasons Why, Twitter users also weighed in on the controversial topics addressed on the series, including drugs and sex.

"Everyone who watches this show and actually enjoys it is mentally deranged. I thought 13 Reasons why was the worst show ever made but Euphoria won [fist] place cause [what the f**k] is this and how are y'all watching this bullsh*t since 3 years?" one person on Twitter asked their followers.

Each Show Has Been Criticized

One Selena Gomez fan page slammed the HBO program for being "worse" than the Netflix show because it glamorized bad things, including drugs and sex, while 13 Reasons Why was based around a teen's suicide.

"Euphoria is worse than 13 Reasons Why because it quite literally 'glamorizes' many many bad things and it should've been a college show period and y'all would realize that if you didn't just pay attention to the aesthetic the music and the hot cast," the fan page wrote on Twitter.

"So people are ok with Euphoria but had a problem with 13 Reasons Why, please make it make sense," another person shared.

Which Show Was Voted Better By Nearly 75 Percent?

Whether or not the shows glamorize dangerous behavior is up for debate. However, when it comes to which show is the better one, there have been polls done online. One poll conducted by Heavy confirmed that Euphoria was the winner with nearly 75 percent of the vote.

There have also been tons of online debates, one of which, from [Tiger Tales], concluded that each show was worth watching because they feature two different plot lines and two different sets of characters.

NBA Rumors: Rockets Need Third Team To 'Generate A Path' To Ben Simmons Trade

Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons is one of the NBA superstars who are highly expected to be moved before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. As of now, the Sixers' top priority is to convince Simmons to stay in Philadelphia for the remainder of the 2021-22 NBA season. However, if they fail to change his mind, they could be forced to find him a new home before the real battle begins in the 2022 NBA Playoffs.

Despite the major flaws in his games, Simmons continues to receive strong interest from aspiring contenders that need additional star power and young teams that want to speed up their rebuilding plans.

Will Rockets Join Ben Simmons Sweepstakes?

In his article titled "Which NBA Buyers Make the Most Sense for a Ben Simmons Trade?" Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report talked about potential landing spots for Simmons. After discussing the seven interested teams - the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, and the Cleveland Cavaliers - that Shams Charania of The Athletic mentioned, Pincus also talked about other possible trade destinations for the Sixers' disgruntled superstar.

Among the young teams that could emerge as a dark-horse suitor for Simmons are the Houston Rockets.

Rockets Should Find A Third Team

Having a plethora of interesting trade assets, the Rockets are indeed in a strong position to engage in a blockbuster deal before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. However, Pincus believes that the Rockets would be needing to find a third team to "generate a path" to a Simmons trade.

"The 76ers don't have interest in John Wall from the Houston Rockets," Pincus wrote. "If Eric Gordon, Christian Wood and some of the team's picks and prospects (but not Jalen Green or Alperen Sengun) aren't enough for Philadelphia, perhaps a third team could help Houston generate a path to a Simmons deal."

Trading For Ben Simmons Makes Sense For Rockets

As of now, it remains unknown if there's an ongoing trade negotiation between Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey and his former team. However, it won't be surprising if the Rockets would be interested in adding Simmons to their roster. At 25, Simmons still fits the Rockets' rebuilding plans.

Simmons may have struggled in the 2021 NBA Playoffs, but his superstar potential is undeniable. Simmons could join forces with Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. and form the core of the next title-contending team that the Rockets are trying to build in Houston in the post-James Harden era.

Ben Simmons Starts New Journey In Space City

Being traded to the Rockets would also benefit Simmons. Unlike in Philadelphia, the Rockets don't need to force Simmons to immediately return to the court since they are currently in the initial phase of the rebuilding process. Playing for the Rockets won't put Simmons closer to winning his first NBA championship title, but having a fresh start in Space City could help him regain his confidence and return to the right path to becoming a legitimate superstar in the NBA.

Also, compared to the Sixers who currently have Embiid, Simmons would have a better chance of being named the face of the franchise in Houston.

Months after the ladies of the Real Housewives franchise flew in a private jet to Turks and Caicos, where they temporarily made themselves at home at a rental property hosted by Richards' realtor husband, Mauricio Umansky, Singer, of The Real Housewives of New York City, posted the group image of the three of them on her social media page.

Melissa Gorga and Her Cast Mates Were Flooded With Backlash

After Singer posted the image on her Instagram page last week, along with the usernames of her two Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip cast mates and two orange heart emoji, she was met with a slew of critical fans who didn't like what they were seeing from her, Gorga, and Richards.

"Oh brother....you women should grow up...disappointed in you Ramona...snap out of it...," one person shared.

A second Instagram user said that the women had "shopped in the preteen baby clothes box" as a third called out Gorga and Singer for looking like they were "wearing their daughters outfits" but applauded Richards for her "nice outfit."

Some Accused Melissa Gorga and Her Co-Stars of Using Photoshop

After another person shaded The Real Housewives of New York City star for hanging out with people who are younger than she is while someone else went super low and said she could never compare to Gorga and Richards.

"You can't compare to these two!" the hater alleged.

Someone else said the women were "photoshopped to death" as another noted "how ridiculous" the ladies' poses were and slammed them as three "narcissists" as they stood beside one another for their sultry mirror selfie.

Melissa Gorga Didn't Always Approve of Ramona Singer's Behavior

Following filming on The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip season one, Gorga spoke to Page Six, admitting that when it came to Singer's behavior against the other women of the show, many of whom she screamed at during filming, there were "no excuses."

"Ramona lives in Ramona's world," Gorga noted.

Singer feuded with Moore on a number of occasions but Moore didn't back down. Instead, she let Singer know her behavior, and the way she spoke to her, wouldn't be tolerated.

"I think [Kenya] made sense with whatever she argued about," Gorga admitted.

Despite Singer's bad behavior, Gorga said she holds the Real Housewives of New York City star "close to [her] heart."

NBA Rumors: Anthony Davis Could Be Traded To Kings For Hield, Barnes, Holmes & Draft Picks

Since the start of the 2021-22 NBA season, rumors have been swirling around All-Star power forward Anthony Davis and his future with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers may not have shown a strong indication that they are planning to move Davis before the 2022 NBA trade deadline but with his struggle earlier this season, some people think that the Purple and Gold are better off using him as the main trade chip to improve their roster around LeBron James.

Anthony Davis To Sacramento Kings

Davis is still under rehabilitation after suffering an injury earlier this season but once he returns to perfect shape, he's expected to receive a strong interest on the trade market. Among his potential suitors before the 2022 NBA trade deadline is the Sacramento Kings. In a recent article, Jack Simone of Fansided's Hoops Habit suggested two Davis-centered blockbuster trade ideas that would help fix the Lakers.

These include a hypothetical deal that would send him to the Kings. In the proposed trade scenario, the Kings would be offering a package that includes Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, Richaun Holmes, a 2022 first-round pick, a 2024 first-round pick, and the rights to swap first-rounders in 2023 and 2025 to the Lakers in exchange for Davis, Kendrick Nunn, and DeAndre Jordan.

Kings Pair De'Aaron Fox With A Legitimate Superstar

Giving up all those assets for Davis would make a lot of sense for the Kings if they still don't have any plan of undergoing a full-scale rebuild. Instead of taking a different route and focusing on the development of their young players, the proposed blockbuster deal with the Lakers would enable the Kings to build a more competitive roster around the face of the franchise, De'Aaron Fox.

Though he has gone through plenty of ups and downs earlier this season, Davis, when he's 100 percent healthy, remains one of the best active players in the league. Pairing him with Fox won't make the Kings an instant title contender, but it would give them a realistic chance of ending their 15-year playoff drought this season.

Kings Add A Solid Two-Way Star

Davis would be a great acquisition for the Kings. His potential arrival in Sacramento would provide them with a massive frontcourt upgrade and bring much-needed improvement to their offense and defense. As of now, the Kings' offensive and defensive efficiencies only rank 24th and 25th, respectively, per ESPN.

In Davis, the Kings would be getting a prolific scorer, a monster rebounder, a great rebounder, and a decent floor-spacer. This season, he's averaging 23.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, and 1.2 steals while shooting 52.1 percent from the field, per ESPN.

Why The Lakers Would Make The Trade

For the Lakers, sending Davis to the Kings would be worth exploring if they no longer think that he could help James win another NBA championship title. By sacrificing Davis, the Lakers would be acquiring an immediate replacement for him at the starting power forward position in Barnes, while adding an elite three-point shooter in Hield, a defensive-minded center in Holmes, and future first-round picks.

Though he's not as good as Davis, Barnes would be an intriguing addition to the Lakers. Aside from having a championship experience, Barnes' stint with the Golden State Warriors has taught him how to efficiently co-exist alongside star players, making him a great fit alongside James.

The leggy beauty, who always kicks the day off with breakfast, also stated: "I'm passionate about breakfast. I wake up hungry, so I always eat a bagel. My family gets a dozen from this deli called Nate 'n Al every weekend."

She then name-dropped her favorite Café Habana dining joint in Malibu, CA, telling the magazine that they have "really good steak tacos and a Cuban-style banana split with caramelized plantains." Gerber, of course, is also known for sharing her sweat sessions to social media.

An Early Night

Beauty sleep is free, but it comes at a cost with a busy schedule. Gerber revealed a 9 p.m. bedtime, stating:

"I'll turn in as early as I can. I don't sleep well when I'm traveling, so there's nothing I like more than getting in my own bed. When I started modeling, my mom always said, "You're gonna dream about getting in bed early." I didn't believe her, but after my first fashion month now I do." Skip the jump for more.

Climbing The Ranks

2021 saw Gerber's profile explode as she continues to snag brand deals. The star, who has been fronting YSL Beauty since her teens, is now also the celebrity face for Marc Jacobs' fragrances, this alongside her #MyCalvins campaigns for Calvin Klein. Gerber further has a contract with luxury French label Celine.
