Relive Jason Momoa's Close Bond With Lenny Kravitz Through the Years

Posted: 14 Jan 2022 04:00 PM PST

A lasting brotherhood! Throughout his nearly 20-year relationship with Lisa Bonet, Jason Momoa grew closer to her ex Lenny Kravitz, frequently gushing over their blended "ohana."

The "American Woman" crooner was married to the Cosby Show alum, with whom he shares daughter Zoë Kravitz, from 1987 to 1993. "People can't believe how tight Jason and I are, or how tight I still am with Zoë's mom, how we all relate," he told Men's Health in November 2020. "We just do it because that's what you do. You let love rule, right? I mean, obviously, after a breakup, it's work — it takes some work and time, healing and reflection."

In fact, the New York native recalled thinking, "Oh, yeah. I love this dude," as soon as he met the Aquaman star.

To celebrate their close-knit bond, Momoa and Lenny even sport a pair of matching rings.

"I'm a huge fan of the artists I meet on Instagram love spreading the aloha. I got @lennykravitz a present made by @leroyswoodentattoos amazing bone skull ring," the Game of Thrones alum wrote via Instagram in December 2018. "Mahalo lenny for coming to support me on @nbcsnl aloha j."

Despite their split, the "Fly Away" musician and Bonet remained close as coparents.

"There's no explanation for it. We experienced a very deep love that still carries on to this day, just in a different way," the musician told Entertainment Tonight in October 2020 about raising the Big Little Lies alum with his ex. "My life with Lisa helped to open the portal that I needed opened. Everything I’d lived up to that point was stored inside of me, but because of the love we had, the friends we had and the whole scene around us that we created, I was able to open up and let everything I had experienced in my life come out onto that first album, Let Love Rule."

The Ray Donovan actress began dating the Justice League star in 2005. Bonet and Momoa — who share daughter Lola and son Nakoa-Wolf — eventually wed in October 2017, remaining cordial with her first husband.

"We all love each other and we all support each other," the Grammy winner further explained to ET. "[Jason's] a big teddy bear. He’s a kid at heart and that’s why I love him. We really love each other. We're not only family, but friends."

After four years of marriage, the Hawaii native and the A Different World alum announced their split in January 2022.

"We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times … A revolution is unfolding ~and our family is of no exception … feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring," the estranged couple shared in a joint Instagram statement. "And so~ We share our Family news~ That we are parting ways in marriage. We share this not because we think it's newsworthy ~ But so that~ as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty."

Police took the actress, 42, into custody in Georgia in the early hours of Friday, January 14. Authorities responded to a call about a driver who was asleep at the wheel and had a description of Haddish's vehicle.

The comedian was released on Friday after posting $1,666 bond, according to TMZ.

Haddish previously made headlines in November 2021 for her split from boyfriend Common after one year of dating. Prior to their breakup, she gushed about the Oscar winner's positive impact on her life.

"I've lost 20 pounds since I've been in this relationship. I feel more confident in me, and it's not him that's doing it," she said during a July 2020 episode of the "Wild Ride! With Steve-O" podcast. "I'm just way happier and it's, like, knowing I got somebody that cares about me, that really has my back. It seems like he does anyways. And I love it. I love him."

The 49-year-old star, for his part, caught heat after he claimed in December 2021 that he and Haddish "came to an understanding" about putting their careers first.

"Neither one of us is gonna stop," Common explained on Hollywood Unlocked With Jason Lee: Uncensored at the time. "We both care about our crafts and what we do. We care about love too and partnership, but I think the energy that has been put into our careers and continuing to want to do the things that we do for ourselves and for the people, it was hard for me to balance all of that and keep the relationship fed."

Later that month, Haddish confessed during a Hollywood Unlocked interview that she was "disappointed" by the rapper’s reasoning, adding, "I was like, 'Oh, OK. 'Cause that's not what you told me, but OK.'"

The Girls Trip star has also been open about her desire to adopt a child but exclusively told Us in November 2021 that her plans were on hold. "I had to put a pause on that [adoption] process because my business has picked up, and I feel when you take a child [in], you really need to be able to focus on them," she revealed at the time.

Haddish elaborated that adoption was not off the table entirely. "I want to raise the child. I want to give the child my knowledge and my love," she explained to Us. "So I want to finish up a few more things, so that I can really focus. It's one thing to have a dog and a garden and take care of that. But to have another human being that needs me and that I'm responsible for. I want to be present. I want to be all the way present. I don't want somebody else doing that work."

The love of family. Kanye West would do anything for his kids — even if that means buying a house next to his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, to keep them closer.

“My solace comes from seeing my kids and getting a solid schedule," the 44-year-old rapper told Jason Lee in a teaser for the Monday, January 17, episode of Hollywood Unlocked. "That’s why I even got the house."

The Yeezy designer claimed in the clip, released on Friday, January 14, that the media "flipped [it] into [saying that] there was something wrong with me getting a house next to my kids.”

In December 2021, West — who split from 41-year-old Kardashian 10 months prior after six years of marriage — purchased a house across the street from his and the Skims founder's family home. The estranged couple share four kids: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2.

The "Jesus Walks" rapper revealed during his Hollywood Unlocked interview that he knows what it feels like to live apart from one of his parents.

"When my mom took me from Atlanta to Chicago, my dad didn't come to the coldest and most-dangerous city in the world to be next to me," West explained, noting that his dad chose to stay back in Atlanta for his career. "There's nothing with my career, whether it's rap [or designing], none of that is going to keep me from my children."

The "Off the Grid" musician further insisted that he wanted "everyone to know" how important his four children are to him.

"Don't play with me and don't play with my children," he concluded. "Ain't no security going to get between me and my children."

West raised eyebrows last month when he secured a property in the same neighborhood as Kardashian and his kids for $4.5 million. Us Weekly reported at the time that the Grammy winner paid $421,000 more than the original asking price to be on the same Hidden Hills, California, street as his loved ones.

Two months prior, the KKW Beauty founder paid West $23 million for his share of the Hidden Hills home they bought together in 2014 amid their divorce. "[Kim] wants Kanye to be a big part of the kids' lives," an insider exclusively told Us in December 2021. "[He] will be invited to all holidays and family celebrations."

West, for his part, has been vocal about wanting to keep Kardashian as his wife after she started dating Pete Davidson. The reality star and the Saturday Night Live star, 28, were first linked in October 2021 after the two shared a kiss during an SNL sketch earlier that month amid her hosting gig.

"My kids want their parents to stay together," the "Stronger" rapper said during an appearance on the "Drink Champs" podcast in November 2021. "I want their parents — I want us to be together."

A second source exclusively told Us in December 2021 that the Selfish author was "surprised" by West's comments, noting that Kardashian does think her estranged husband is a "good person" whom she "respects."

Amid the duo's ongoing divorce proceedings, West has started a new romance of his own. He was first spotted with model Julia Fox on January 1 after meeting on New Year's Eve in Miami.

"It was an instant connection. His energy is so fun to be around," the 31-year-old actress told Interview magazine on January 6. "He had me and my friends laughing, dancing and smiling all night."

The Making the Cut host, 48, released her new song, “Chai Tea With Heidi,” with Snoop Dogg and WeddingCake on Friday, January 14. The track will serve as the theme song for the upcoming season of her TV show Germany’s Next Topmodel.

The former Project Runway presenter has known the rapper, 50, for years, but she still had to gather her “courage” to ask him about collaborating.

“I called him and he’s like, ‘What’s up?'” the supermodel exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of the song’s release. “And I was like, ‘Oh, my God, you’ll never believe what I’m wanting to do with you.'”

The Grammy winner was on board, so the duo quickly got to work. They ran into a snag, however, when it came time to clear a sample of Rod Stewart‘s 1983 hit “Baby Jane.” After asking everyone she knew for his contact info, she finally tracked down his email address, but she started to get alarmed when she didn’t receive a response.

Though Klum has hit a lot of milestones in her career, “Chai Tea With Heidi” is the one that really stands out for her kids. The Germany native shares Leni, 17, Henry, 16, Johan, 15, and Lou, 12, with ex-husband Seal.

The Emmy winner previously recorded the song “Wonderland” in 2016 for a German TV ad, but “Chai Tea With Heidi” was “a dream of dream” for her because of Snoop’s involvement. “Top of my bucket list,” she added, noting that she kept pinching herself during their recording session. “I’m like, ‘Am I Heidi? Is this Snoop Dogg? Are we doing a song together? I can’t believe this is happening.'”

Britney Denies Jamie Lynn’s ‘Crazy Lies’ About Alleged Knife Incident

Posted: 14 Jan 2022 01:29 PM PST

The back and forth continues. Britney Spears fired back at sister Jamie Lynn Spears after she claimed the "Toxic" singer once locked them in a room while holding a knife.

"Jamie Lynn … congrats babe! You've stooped to a whole new level of LOW," Britney, 40, wrote via Twitter on Friday, January 14. "I've never been around you ever with a knife or would I ever even think to do such!!!"

The Grammy winner appeared to be referring to Jamie Lynn's Things I Should Have Said book claims, in which she alleged that there was an incident between the sisters in which Britney became "scared" and took a knife and locked them both in a room.

The Zoey 101 alum, 30, discussed the alleged encounter during a Wednesday, January 12, appearance on Nightline while she was promoting her new memoir. Jamie Lynn claimed that Britney "didn't feel safe" at the time, which is why she escaped into a locked room with her little sister.

"First off, I think experiencing my own panic attacks and how sometimes we can feel in those moments is important. It's important to remember that I was a kid in that moment. I was scared," the Sweet Magnolias star said on Wednesday. "That was an experience I had, but I also was fearful to, like, really say anything because I didn't want to upset anybody but also was so upset that she didn't feel safe."

Britney, however, denied that the incident ever took place, tweeting on Friday, "The only knife I ever saw you with at home was cutting the biggest pieces of squash I ever saw in my life and it was way too big for me to cut."

The Crossroads actress then asked her sister to "please stop with these crazy lies for the Hollywood books," before calling Jamie Lynn out for her recent comments.

"NOW and only NOW do I know only a scum person would make up such things about someone … I'm actually very confused about you making that up because it's honestly not like you at all!!" Britney continued.

The former Mouseketeer also addressed Jamie Lynn's claims that she allegedly "got in [her] face" one time when the All That alum was holding daughter Ivey, now 3.

"Around the kids??? Jamie Lynn, seriously??? Come on!!!" Britney responded on Friday, seemingly claiming that the event never occurred.

The "Gimme More" songstress quipped: "Congrats on introducing your older sister to the concept of getting LOW … LOWER … LOWEST … because you win at that one, babe!!!"

Britney's tweet is the latest in a string of comments she's released in response to Jamie Lynn's book tour claims over the past week.

On Wednesday, Jamie Lynn claimed during a Good Morning America interview that the "love is still there" between her and Britney despite their family's ups and downs.

The Nickelodeon alum was also asked about Britney's shade of Jamie Lynn's 2017 Radio Disney Awards tribute performance.

Britney fired back with a lengthy statement on Thursday, January 13, tweeting in part, "I know it may sound like a silly thing to most people, but I wrote a lot of my songs, and my sister was the baby. She never had to work for anything. Everything was always given to her!!!"

Jamie Lynn reacted to her sister's remarks via Instagram, writing, "I hate to burst my sister's bubble, but my book is not about her. I can't help that I was born a Spears too, and that some of my experiences involve my sister. I've worked hard since before I was even a teenager, and I've built my career in spite of just being someone's little sister."

In the book, Jamie Lynn also wrote that Britney was "erratic, paranoid [and] spiraling" ahead of her 2008 conservatorship starting. Britney’s 13-year conservatorship was terminated in November 2021 after years of her father, Jamie Spears, and other controlling her physical, financial and career decisions.

Bachelor Nation is mourning Clint Arlis after the Bachelorette season 11 contestant died at the age of 34.

The high school wrestling coach at Arlis' alma mater announced the news on Thursday, January 14, via Twitter.

"It is with a heavy heart and a sense of profound loss that we announce the death of one of the Batavia Wrestling Program's All-Time greats, 2005 graduate, Clint Arlis," Coach Bayer began. "Clint was the beloved son of Coach Tom Arlis and his wife, Jamie, protective, loving older brother of his sister, Taylor, and the boyhood idol and best friend of his kid brother, Coach Logan Arlis."

He added: "His legacies as a fierce competitor, tireless worker, a caring influence to younger Batavia wrestlers, a devoted friend and a loving son and brother will resonate far beyond his days in our presence. On behalf of all of us in the Batavia Wrestling Family, we send our deepest and most sincere condolences to the Arlis Family during this period [of] unimaginable heartbreak and grief. To the Arlis Family, we loved Clint. We love you."

Arlis' sister Taylor also confirmed the news via Facebook.

"It is with great sadness, to tell you that my family has lost my best friend and older brother Clint on the morning of January 11th," she wrote. "Please respect our family's privacy as we try to cope with this great loss. Details on the service will follow. Thank You."

Arlis appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of The Bachelorette in 2015 and was eliminated during the third week of the competition. He was known for his bromance with fellow contestant JJ Lane.

The Matrix Resurrections star and his husband, David Burtka, share twins Harper and Gideon, both 11. Their growing family has three dogs: Spike, Gidget and Ella. Burtka, 46, even paid tribute to the canine companions while picking out his spouse's Christmas present late last year.

"Awesome gift this year: replica stuffed versions of our dogs," Harris shared snaps of the three stuffed animals via Instagram in December 2021. "Bravo @cuddleclones for nailing Gidget, Spike and Ella's likenesses. Swipe to see their actual visages. Swipe quickly back and forth for a chuckle… (thanks @dbelicious for being so gift smart!)"

While Spike and Gidget have been members of the Burtka-Harris brood for several years, Ella was the latest pup to join the family amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"Oh Santa, what have you done?? On Christmas morning, @dbelicious and I watched Gideon and Harper open a box filled with… a golden retriever puppy. Her name is Ella, and she has pretty much taken over our lives," the former child star announced the dog's arrival via a December 2020 Instagram post. “She's curious, clumsy, and sublime. Except for when she's peeing everywhere. Or gnawing on everything. Which is always. Methinks we need some training. But first, I must go cuddle. Thanks, Santa. You rule."

With all three of the New York-based family's dogs, they deliberately chose names with special meanings.

"Ella is short for Eleanor which is David’s grandmother’s name," Harris told PureWow in February 2021. "We tried to come up with a name that would be easy for the dogs to understand. We already have a Gidget, which is a lot of tongue action. We have a Spike which is a strong single syllable and we wanted to come up with a feminine name that was easy to understand for them. So, Eleanor became Ella and it’s good — it’s easy to say."

The Gone Girl star further gushed about the puppy’s training at the time: "David said this, and I kind of agree, having three dogs is almost easier than two because when they're being rambunctious they usually have an additional playmate. I don’t envy the corners of our furniture because they are slowly getting chewed down to nonexistence but we are slowly pivoting to a chew toy. We’re also stocking up on floor cleaner because that dog will pee right in front of you. You'll take this girl outside and she'll go and then five minutes later she'll do it again right in front of you. I don't know if she's learned that yet but she's so cute I can't admonish her. Can’t get mad at this cute little angel dog."

“We are not dating. We hang out all the time,” Bia, 25, explained during an episode of the “BFFs with Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards” podcast on Thursday, January 13, when asked if he and Cline, 24, are more than friends.

The New York native clarified that the pair were having fun keeping things casual.

“I think as someone like herself who is extremely busy and is going to start traveling — she’s on set five months out of the year — she has such a busy schedule and I think I have such a busy schedule. It is one of those things where we really enjoy hanging out and enjoy going to dinner,” he added. “But we never officially started dating and probably will never officially stop because we are just hanging out. We are enjoying it and not even thinking about what it is.”

Cline and Bia were linked in December 2021 after they were spotted together at basketball games and out to dinner in Los Angeles. After the twosome raised eyebrows, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the Outer Banks star was “playing coy” about her relationship with Bia.

"They might seem like an odd match, but she’s someone who can get along with anybody because of how kind she is," the insider said at the time. "They’re cute together."

One month before Cline’s outings with Bia, Us confirmed her split from her costar Chase Stokes after more than one year of dating. Fans started to question whether the duo were still dating as they made fewer appearances together on social media.

They’ve been trying to work it out for quite some time but decided going their separate ways was best,” a source told Us in November 2021. “They both have busy schedules, which made it hard for them to spend a lot of time together. They have no bad feelings toward each other and remain friends.”

Stokes, 29, and Cline met while playing love interests John B. and Sarah on Outer Banks, but they didn’t pursue a real-life romance right away. They made their relationship Instagram official in June 2020, and the Stranger Things alum later opened up about when things began to turn less platonic.

“At that point in time, we were so anxious about the show and so nervous about constantly screwing up. I think we were all under this sort of strange umbrella of, like, ‘Dear God, we got an opportunity. Let’s not screw it up!’ So, it was just always work-oriented — really until the day we wrapped,” Stokes exclusively told Us in February 2021. “It wasn’t until after that, until we started to kind of get into the [coronavirus] lockdown where we were like, ‘Is there something here or am I crazy?’ That’s sort of where it bloomed from there. I think we were just so invested in the work.”

Ahead of their breakup, Cline was proud of how she and her now-ex didn’t let their relationship clash with their work.

“Whenever there’s any sort of personal issue, especially between the two of us, we don’t bring it to work. Because it’s distracting,” the South Carolina native told Elle magazine in August 2020. “It’s not fun to feel like that time on set is tainted by anything else. So I think we’ve navigated it really well. In the first season, we all started out as friends, and we established this from a working relationship. And then in season two, we came back to it as a couple.”

The Dancing With the Stars winner added that she didn’t know what happened, but she wanted to send her condolences to his friends and family. “It's such a huge loss and I am honestly just beside myself at this news,” she continued. “So if there's anything I can do, I don't know what I can do, but anything at all, please let me know."

Ben Zorn, who competed alongside Clint on The Bachelorette, exclusively told Us that hearing the news was “devastating” both because he was a friend and because he was so young. “[It] really makes you self-reflect on things going on in your own life," the fitness trainer, 32, added. "My condolences go out to his family, friends and everyone he coached. He will be missed.”

Nick Viall, who was the runner-up on Bristowe’s season, remembered Clint via social media. "I got a chance to get know Clint a little after our time on Kaitlyns season and I always enjoy our time and conversations,” he tweeted. “A very kind, unique, and talented person who was taken from this world far too soon. “It was really funny," an eyewitness exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday, January 14, of Joe's show, which was held one day prior. "He was very upbeat. He never stopped smiling."

The Impractical Jokers alum, 45, who announced on New Year's Eve that he was leaving the TruTV series after 10 years, "didn't seem nervous at all," the source added.

Joe took the stage at Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center in Davenport, Iowa, on Thursday, January 13. The tour stop came just weeks after the comedian also confirmed on December 31 that he and his wife of eight years decided to part ways.

During the show, Joe didn't get into detail about his Impractical Jokers departure or his split, according to the eyewitness, but he did joke about his current situation after a fan asked, "How's life going?" mid-performance.

"He was like, ‘Pretty f–king fantastic,’" the insider recalled, noting it was "one of the better jokes" and one of very few that appeared to address his marital status. “He didn’t really get into his personal life," the source added. "He made a couple jokes about it, and he moved on to the next. He never stayed on one topic for too long.”

The 45-minute set was mainly focused on his dogs. Joe and Bessy, 39, share 17 pups, many of which they foster.

"One of the questions was like, ‘[Name] your favorite dog versus your favorite kid,’ and that’s as much he talked about his kids," the eyewitness told Us, explaining that Joe had a "good attitude" about his personal circumstances throughout the show.

Earlier this week, the former Tenderloins troupe member, who shares daughter Milana, 6, and son Remington, 4, with Bessy, announced his comedy tour in the wake of his split.

"When I committed to my upcoming series of shows starting in the Midwest this week, I obviously had no idea what life would look like at this moment," Joe captioned an Instagram post on Monday, January 10. "Regardless, we can all use some laughter and kindness right now, and I'll therefore be keeping all of my dates."

The following day, Joe stepped out for the first time since his reveal that he was stepping back from the show he created with longtime friends, James "Murr" Murray, Brian "Q" Quinn and Sal Vulcano.

Joe was photographed heading to the airport on Tuesday, January 11. The same day, Bessy was seen without her wedding ring while at a gas station in Long Beach, New York.

The feud is heating up! Kanye West has kept his feelings about estranged wife Kim Kardashian's boyfriend, Pete Davidson, close to the vest, but now he is using his music to take aim at the reality star's new man.

A clip of West's upcoming song with The Game, titled "My Life Was Never Eazy," was leaked via Twitter on Friday, January 14. "God saved me from the crash just so I can beat Pete Davidson's ass," the Grammy winner, 44, raps in the snippet.

A source confirms to Us Weekly that West plans on releasing the leaked track.

Kardashian, 41, filed for divorce from the Yeezy designer — with whom she shares daughter North, 8, son Saint, 6, daughter Chicago, 3, and son Psalm, 2 — in February 2021 after six years of marriage. She moved on with Davidson, 28, in October 2021 after connecting with him when she hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time earlier that month.

Amid headlines about the Skims founder's new romance, West began making public pleas for another shot at their marriage. "SNL making my wife say 'I divorced him' on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off and I never have seen the papers. We're not even divorced," he claimed during an appearance on Revolt's "Drink Champs" in November 2021. "So how we — because [it's] no joke to me, my kids want their parents to stay together. I want their parents — I want us to be together."

Despite the musician's advances, a source told Us in December 2021 that Davidson was "not worried about Kanye trying to get back with Kim," noting, "He's very laid-back and understanding."

As for the Saturday Night Live star's relationship with Kardashian, an insider revealed last month that the pair are "getting serious."

"Things have definitely escalated quickly but in a healthy, fun way," the source added at the time. "Right now, they are just enjoying their time together and seeing where things go."

West, for his part, has been linked to Julia Fox since the two were spotted on a dinner date on January 1. Earlier this week, the actress, 31, denied that their relationship is a "PR stunt."

"There's always people that think every single celebrity scandal is a setup. I personally don't," Fox — who coincidentally appeared in a 2019 photo shoot with Davidson — explained during the Thursday, January 13, episode of the "Forbidden Fruits" podcast. "Listen, for right now, I'm just living in the moment and I don't have any expectations — there's no labels, none of that. It's just people that make each other feel better."

The former Miss Universe, 29, was on her way to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with her boyfriend, Christian McCaffrey, and her sister Aurora Culpo on Thursday, January 13, when she was asked to change clothes.

“Look at her outfit. She looks cute. She looks appropriate,” Aurora said in an Instagram Story she shared on Thursday. “They call her up to the desk and tell her that she needs to put a blouse on, otherwise she can’t get on the plane. Tell me is that not so f–ked up.”

The I Feel Pretty actress was wearing a black sports bra and bike shorts set with a long black cardigan. To comply with the airline’s demand, she borrowed a gray hoodie from her beau, 25.

After the group successfully boarded the flight, Aurora shared a photo of the NFL player sitting with his arms tucked inside his T-shirt. “When you freeze bc your lady dress inappropriate AF,” she joked in a caption. “Exactly how Jack from the Titanic died.”

Olivia, for her part, remained calm, befriending another woman at the gate who was dressed in a similar outfit that revealed part of her midriff. “Leave it to Aurora to cause a scene,” she joked via Instagram, reposting her sister’s video. “Hide me.”

When the group touched down in Mexico, however, Aurora changed her tune about her sister’s clothing because of a unique sleepwear choice. The former Miss USA wore a ruffled miniskirt and matching crop top for bed rather than a simple nightshirt or pajama set.

“Just want to say that I am officially on American Airlines’ side and I will no longer support my sister in any of her wardrobe endeavors,” Aurora said in another Instagram Story. “Because she has proven to me to be completely incapable of putting together an outfit that is appropriate for any situation.”

The siblings were joined on the trip by their other sister, Sophia Culpo, and her boyfriend, Braxton Berrios. In 2020, the Culpo women teamed up to design the Culpos x INC clothing collection for Macy’s — their first collaboration as a family.

When they were growing up, however, they often shared clothes. "For my prom I never bought anything. My mom always made me wear my older sister's stuff," Olivia told Us Weekly in November 2020. "I always just had to wear what Aurora wore."

The sharing worked out in Sophia’s favor later on when she got to borrow Olivia’s Miss Universe dress for her own prom. “So extra!” the Venus as a Boy star joked to Us. “The youngest always gets so spoiled.”

In early January, the 24-year-old's profile officially became the third most followed Instagram account, with a total of 300 million followers. (The two most followed accounts belong to Instagram and Cristiano Ronaldo, with 460 million and 388 million fans, respectively.) The reality star also became the first woman to reach the milestone.

Despite her new achievement, Kylie, who is expecting her second child with boyfriend Travis Scott later this year, has taken a step back from social media in recent months. In October 2021, a source told Us Weekly exclusively that the Life of Kylie star is instead focusing on spending as much time with daughter Stormi, 3, ahead of the baby's arrival.

Kylie is "giving Stormi as much attention as possible" for the time being, the insider told Us, adding that she is "focusing on her health and her baby's health at the moment and finishing setting up the nursery."

The expectant mother is also getting plenty of support from Scott, 30, ahead of their second child's birth. "Kylie has never felt more prepared for something in her entire life," a source told Us in December 2021, adding that the couple have grown closer during her pregnancy. "Kylie and Travis are so elated to be on this journey again together."

In the meantime, Kylie is looking forward to becoming a mother of two any day now: “She feels incredibly confident and is so overjoyed about expanding her family and becoming a new mom again,” the source continued. “She can't wait for Stormi to have a sibling.”

While Higgins, 32, found love with Jessica Clarke — whom he wed in November 2021 — his former fiancée sparked a romance with musician Chris Lane. The couple wed in October 2019 before welcoming son Dutton in June 2021.

“I always go back to that day when I had to say bye to Katie. It’s not something I wanted to do but as a parent, [it was an] easy decision. I would do it a million times again, just like I did there without thinking twice,” he told Us Weekly exclusively of his emotional goodbye ahead of the Men Tell All taping in July 2021. “I knew when I had to make that decision, that I was leaving an opportunity to pursue an amazing life with someone that I care about and finding that person is really difficult. And I think that’s kind of the conundrum parents and single parents always have [is] to balance time with someone that you love, like, your child and then you as an individual. Michael welcomed his little boy with his late wife, Laura. Despite his early exit from the reality show, the businessman told Us that he felt “an insanely strong connection” with Katie. A private funeral service for friends and family is taking place on Friday, January 14, multiple sources exclusively confirm to Us Weekly.

Saget’s former costar John Stamos hinted at preparing for the memorial via Twitter on Friday, writing, “Today will be the hardest day of my life. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”

The Full House alum was found dead in his Orlando, Florida, hotel room on Sunday, January 9, one day after he performed a show in Jacksonville, Florida. While the cause of his death has yet to be confirmed, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office tweeted that “detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.”

Saget is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and his three daughters — Aubrey, 34, Lara, 32, and Jennifer, 29 — whom he shared with ex-wife Sherri Kramer. One day after the comedian’s passing, the Eat Travel Rock blogger, 42, broke her silence in a statement to Us.

“My whole heart. Bob was my absolute everything,” Rizzo shared. “I am so completely shattered and in disbelief. I am so deeply touched by the outpouring of love and tribute from our friends, family, his fans and his peers.”

The Illinois native noted that she would tell the world more about her late husband “when the time is right and when this news is not as raw,” hoping to one day share “how much he meant to me, all of those around him, and how much all of his fans and friends meant to him as well.”

Following the shocking loss, tributes from Saget’s family, fans and former costars flooded social media. The news of his death “hit Bob’s loved ones like a ton of bricks,” a source exclusively told Us.

“Right now, they’re trying to get to the bottom of exactly what happened, and then they’ll try to process what life will be like without him,” the insider added earlier this month.

As friends continued to remember Saget’s legacy, Candace Cameron Bure mourned her Full House father in a touching Instagram post. The actress, 45, played D.J. Tanner, the eldest daughter of Saget’s Danny Tanner, on both the original show and its sequel series, Fuller House.

“Oh, Bob. Why’d you have to leave us so soon? We are all family, but you were the glue. The sticky, messy, squishy, sweet, lovable glue,” the Hallmark star wrote on Tuesday, January 11. “My childhood is wrapped up in you, my formative teenaged years and the rest of adulthood. You taught me to feel deeply at such a young age. You were never afraid or ashamed to share your emotions, to cry, to love, to laugh and say it out loud. We’ve always been so deeply connected since the day we met when I was 10 years old.”

Cameron Bure said she wished she could have “one more hug” from Saget, concluding, “I’m not saying goodbye because you'll never leave my heart. Even with this gigantic tear in it 💔.”

Along with Cameron Bure, Stamos, 58, paid tribute to his Full House costar, noting in a lengthy Instagram post that he wasn’t “ready to say goodbye just yet.”

Stamos continued: “I’m not ready to accept that he’s gone. … I’m going to imagine him out there, still on the road, doing what he loves with all his heart and humor. He’s standing on stage, killing! Another two-hour set in front of a couple hundred of the luckiest people on the planet. They’re laughing so hard, they weep.”

In the comments, Rizzo replied: “John. My brother. Bob’s brother. Thank you for this and the fact that we just need to picture him out on the road doing what he loved and what made him so damn happy. MAKING PEOPLE HAPPY. And for sharing his last moments so perfectly. I know that is what happened. I love you and BOB loves you forever.”

Update on January 14, 2021:

Australian authorities revoked Novak Djokovic‘s visa on Friday, January 14, after the athlete admitted that there were “mistakes” on his travel declaration form. Djokovic’s lawyers said they would appeal the decision immediately, with the tennis star’s ability to play in the Australian Open now in jeopardy. The tournament is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 17.

Original story below:

Not mincing words. Howard Stern had a strong message for tennis star Novak Djokovic after the drama surrounding his coronavirus vaccination status.

“I call him the Joker," the DJ, 68, said during the Tuesday, January 11, episode of his SiriusXM radio show. "What a f–king a–hole."

The Serbian athlete, 34, made headlines last week when he was barred from entering Australia because of the country’s COVID-19 vaccine requirements. Djokovic claimed he had been granted a “medical exemption” to play in the Australian Open without a vaccine, a requirement for entering the country, but he was detained at the airport on January 5 after officials said he “failed to provide appropriate evidence” of his exemption.

An Australian judge ruled that the Olympic medalist could stay in the country on Monday, January 10, but one day later, Djokovic admitted that he had submitted a false travel declaration when he arrived in Melbourne last week. He claimed he hadn’t traveled for two weeks before coming to Australia, but photos seemingly showed him in both Serbia and Spain shortly before his arrival.

"The first I've heard of this guy is that he doesn't want to get his vaccine and he's running around,” Stern said on Tuesday in response to the scandal. “They should throw him right the f–k out of tennis."

In a statement on Tuesday, Djokovic claimed that the mistake in his travel declaration was the result of “human error” and “certainly not deliberate” on his part.

“[The declaration] was submitted by my support team on my behalf — as I told immigration officials on my arrival — and my agent sincerely apologizes for the administrative mistake in ticking the incorrect box about my previous travel before coming to Australia,” he wrote via Instagram. “We are living in challenging times in a global pandemic and sometimes these mistakes can occur.”

It is not clear whether Djokovic’s latest admission will result in his deportation from the country. Australia’s immigration minister, Alex Hawke, said he was still considering revoking the athlete’s visa. According to the Australian Department of Home Affairs website, the penalty for submitting a false travel declaration carries a maximum penalty of 12 months in prison.

Stern, who previously called people who won’t get vaccinated “idiots,” slammed Djokovic for saying his decision to get vaccinated should be personal rather than mandated by the government.

"That's like saying smoking is a private decision. Well, that's true," the New York native said. "But don't smoke in my face, f–knut. What a dummy. Just a big, dumb tennis player."

Celebrity Group Chats: Cast Text Chains With Other Stars

Posted: 14 Jan 2022 09:26 AM PST

Forget FaceTime and Zoom — the celebrity group chat is where it's at. Whether it's Taylor Swift's squad or the cast of the Avengers, these are the famous text chains every fan wishes they could be a part of.

Luckily, Hollywood's biggest stars often give fans a bit of insight at what it's like inside these never-ending conversations with their close pals and costars. Riverdale star Madelaine Petsch described her cast's group chat as "lit," while the Dawson's Creek WhatsApp is more exclusive than you might imagine — just ask Busy Philipps.

The Cougar Town alum exclusively told Us Weekly she was surprised to hear that her former costars — Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson and James Van Der Beek — were constantly keeping in touch without her. "I was like, 'Oh, wow. OK, well, that's cool,'" Philipps said in 2018, before joking, "I have everyone's number individually. Should I just text them all together, like, 'Hey, guys. Want to include me in?'"

Not every famous person agrees that more text threads are a good thing. One reason Philipps wasn't that upset about being left off the Dawson's Creek phone tree is because she has "enough group texts that drive me insane."

The Freaks and Geeks alum told Us, "I truly cannot stand a group text. Because when people get going, and if you're in a meeting or you're doing something and then you get to your phone and you have like 40 missed texts, and you have to weed through."

Fans might be willing to overlook the large number of notifications if they can get in on the Dune, Bridgerton or the Big Little Lies cast's star-studded text chains. In 2019, Nicole Kidman revealed that the HBO show's message group was no boys allowed — and very light on emojis.

Some TV show casts even have multiple conversations going at the same time such as One Tree Hill, which has a chat just for the dads. As sweet as that may sound, Sophia Bush swears that the girl's online hangout is where you want to be — it includes every former female cast member from the show, including Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz.

Candace Cameron-Bure revealed to Us that there are two different threads for Full House and Fuller House — but only a handful of cast members have access to both. No surprise, she's one of the lucky ones.

Kardashian-Jenner Family
In 2018, Kendall Jenner revealed that her family didn’t have just one text thread, but multiple ones — which made her nervous. “I was on a group chat with Khloé [Kardashian] and Kourtney [Kardashian] the other day and we were talking about something — I don't even think we were talking bad about one of our other family members — but I had this realization,” the model said during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I was like, ‘Oh my god, do you have a group chat about me?! Do you talk about me in other group chats?’ They were like, ‘Kendall, you literally don't do anything wrong. We don't talk about you.’”   Miller Mobley/E! Entertainment
Taylor Swift's Squad
The “Cardigan” singer’s besties, including Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss and Selena Gomez, stay in touch through WhatsApp, according to Hailee Steinfeld. “We try to [speak a lot],” the Hawkeye actress said in 2016. “It’s so crazy being all over the world at the same time and rarely being in the same place at the same time. But it’s so much fun to stay in contact and find each other along the way and all get caught up.”   Shutterstock (2)
Dawson’s Creek
Meredith Monroe, who played Andie McPhee on the WB series, doesn’t have to wait until the next reunion to catch up with her costars. “James, Josh, Katie, we’re all in a group text,” she told Entertainment Tonight in 2018. “We reconnected [after the 20th anniversary] and now we have a group text going again, so that’s been nice.” However, this was news to Philipps, who told Us that she and Michelle Williams weren’t asked to join the ongoing conversation. “I don’t know why we’re not on it, but we’re not,” she said that same year. “Maybe they figure that we’re fine.” Frank Ockenfels/Warner Bros Tv/Kobal/Shutterstock
The Avengers
The MCU heroes like to stay connected via text — but Chris Hemsworth is often hard to reach. The Thor: Ragnarok star told BBC Radio 1 that he has two numbers: an Australian one and an American one. The problem is the group chat goes to his U.S. number and he spends most of his time Down Under. “So when I fly into America, I'm like, 'Cool, 40 days of messages to catch up with,’” he explained in 2019. While the Extraction actor is the slowest to respond, he noted that Robert Downey Jr. is “pretty active” in the chat and Jeremy Renner shares the most NSFW messages. "The guy's a sicko," Hemsworth joked. Marvel Enterprises/Kobal/Shutterstock
One Tree Hill
It’s girls vs. boys when it comes to the beloved CW show’s online correspondence — and Bush said that the women of the teen drama, which ran from 2003 to 2012, are winning the chat wars. “Our group texts are lit. If people could see them, I’m like, ‘Oh man, this would be something,’” the Chicago P.D. alum told Bustle in 2018. “We literally have a group text with every girl who’s ever been on the show and it’s off the chain.” Not to be outdone, the men of the teen series have their own “One Tree Hill dad chat,” which Tyler Hilton joined after having his first child with wife Megan Park in February 2020. “It was the cutest thing,” the singer gushed in an interview with Today that fall. “I was thinking, ‘Dude, if any of us thought we'd one day be on a Father's Day chat together, we would’ve been like: What?’ It was wild.” Dave Allocca/Starpix/Shutterstock
Bridgerton
Lady Whistledown might want to look over those receipts. Unfortunately, Regé-Jean Page will no longer be able to spill the tea with his former costars on WhatsApp. In September 2021, the former Duke of Hastings admitted he “respectfully exited” the chat after leaving the Netflix series. “I didn’t want to put them in an awkward situation where they had to kick me out,” the English actor told GQ at the time, adding that the show’s “universe has expanded” enough that his presence in the text group won’t be missed too much.   LIAM DANIEL/NETFLIX
Full House and Fuller House
Yes, both the original series and its Netflix revival have their own group chats — though Cameron Bure told Us that there is some crossover. “The Full House group chat is, like, it’s the OGs: John [Stamos], Bob [Saget], Dave [Coulier]. … The only one that’s on both is Scott Weinger — oh, and Jodie [Sweetin] and Andrea [Barber], of course,” she explained in April 2021. The Fuller House thread “includes, like, all the kids, even their parents and then Juan Pablo [Di Pace] and John Brotherton,” the actress best known as DJ Tanner continued. “It’s fun, but the OG stays in the OG!” Robert Trachtenberg/Netflix
Big Little Lies
Kidman told Vanity Fair in 2019 that the cast of the HBO series — which includes Reese Witherspoon, Zoë Kravitz and Shailene Woodley — had a group chat that was women only. “There are no men in our equation,” she said. “I mean, there are, but they’re not on the group chat, let’s put it that way.” When Meryl Streep joined the show in season 2, she got an invite to the thread, “and she’s very funny,” the Undoing alum revealed in the same interview. The Practical Magic star would later admit that she was “the only one who sends emojis,” while Witherspoon prefers to send gifs. HBO/Kobal/Shutterstock
Dune
Timothée Chalamet gave fans a taste of the sci-fi film’s group chat when he shared a screengrab via his Instagram Story in 2021 of his costar Oscar Isaac joking that they looked like a “REALLY sh---y boy band” in a recent photo shoot. Fellow Dune star Josh Brolin’s reaction? “We ARE a sh---y boy band.”   Anthony Harvey/Shutterstock
Riverdale
Not even a pandemic could hinder the online chemistry of the CW teen drama’s cast. “[Our] group chat is always lit up,” Petsch told Us in July 2020. “It’s never not lit.” Camila Mendes agreed with her costar. “Our group text is active,” she told Us in April 2021. “There’s a lot of TikToks being sent back and forth. We’re always texting each other when personal things happen. We very much lean on each other.”   Katie Yu/The CW
The Spider-Men
If your Spidey sense is tingling it might be because Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire have a WhatsApp group. The Impossible star told BBC Radio One in December 2021 that he and the former Spider-Man stars have a bond thanks to Peter Parker. “We share something that only us three could possibly imagine,” he said. “Maybe a few stunt doubles, [but] it’s different actually being the guy.” Holland admitted that he was the one who got the chat set up initially — and it might not be the most active of the Hollywood threads. “I think I’m the only one who’s ever spoken in it,” he joked. The New Scream Cast
David Arquette, who reprised his role as Dewey in the new Scream film, revealed to Us that a group chat exists between the newcomers. "The younger guys on the new film had the whole text chain text chain going, but I bow[ed] out at some point just because I just felt like the old guy," he shared in January 2022. Celebrities Who Took a Break From Social Media

Posted: 14 Jan 2022 09:12 AM PST

Seeking solace, ASAP! For some celebrities, the best way to find peace is to take a hiatus from cyberspace, where total chaos reigns.

Stars including Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian and Sarah Hyland have taken breaks from social media in order to refresh their minds, their mentions and their search history.

The “Bad Liar” songstress, who at one point was the most followed person on Instagram, is a huge fan of stepping away from the internet when trolls get her down.

"I have not, personally, in two years had any social media on my phone,” she said during an Instagram Live in October 2020. "I use the platform, I make sure I approve and write things I want to write, but I don't look at it and it's not on my phone.”

Though the former Disney star had plenty of fans following her, she also had her fair share of haters, who made it difficult for her to enjoy the apps.

"I just felt like every day I woke up and I was like, 'Why am I doing this?'" she explained. “These words hurt and they add nothing to my life and the truth is they're lies. So, that is how I handled it, by saying, 'You know what? I'm going to step out of this because I don't think it's helping me at all.'”

Even Kardashian, a veritable Instagram queen, has taken brief breaks from the app. After she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris in October 2016, she didn’t return to her accounts for three months.

Since then, the Skims founder has changed how she posts and no longer adds Instagram Stories in real time.

“I learned from a bad experience I had when I was robbed that people really knew my every move,” she explained during a New York Times conference in November 2019. “They knew what I had, they knew where I was, what I was doing and that, to me, really changed the things that I post.”

Now, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star waits a beat before sharing her life with her fans. “I still want people to feel like they’re on that journey with me,” she said. “But I might video something, then post it 30 minutes later when I’ve left the location, more for privacy.”

Nick Jonas

Ariana Grande
The pop star went dark on Christmas Eve in 2021, deleting her Twitter account. Before she officially signed offline for the holidays, Grande took to Instagram. “Merry :),” she wrote via Instagram Stories. “Be safe. I love you.” Broadimage/Shutterstock
Shawn Mendes
The “Treat You Better” singer said he loves his apps a little too much — and that’s why he had to leave TikTok in October 2021. Luckily, he’s just on a little hiatus. “TikTok is great. I have extreme social media addiction, so I have to really balance myself out,” he explained to Audacy at the time. “I have to delete those apps every now and again.” The Canadian confirmed that he is “on a TikTok break right now.” He continued, “But when I have it, it’s everything … I am a child of Vine. They’re different, TikTok is much more advanced.” In December 2021, Mendes told his Instagram followers that he was "having a little bit of a hard time" with social media "at the moment," but he appreciated the love he received for his "I'll Be Okay" single. "I see a lot of TikToks about people crying and getting emotional and stuff, and I hope that's because there's some truth in the song," he said in a video. "I just feel so proud of that song and I feel so grateful that you guys are connecting with it."  David Fisher/Shutterstock
Jennifer Love Hewitt
Following the birth of her third child, the Party of Five alum took to Instagram in October 2021 to announce she was taking a social media breather. Hewitt said she needed “at least a week, maybe two away” so that she could transition from “scrolling time” to “active time” with her family. The 9-1-1 star explained that being on the apps made her feel “bad” about her postpartum body. “Like I’m not enough. Doing enough. Getting my body back fast enough. Giving enough. All of it,” she wrote via her Instagram Story. Courtesy of Jennifer Love Hewitt/Instagram
Hayley Williams
The Paramore crooner wrote a lengthy statement via Instagram, announcing her social media pause. “I’ve been on the internet and more specifically, social media, since I was 15. Maybe even younger. It started with the blog sites … then Myspace. Then Paramore became a thing and social media wasn’t even just for my own personal use anymore but it was part of the job,” she wrote in the post. “It has been a useful and mostly beautiful part of the job. I crave connection and the internet is a pretty good tool for that when it’s not tearing us apart.” She continued, “As for my own personal experience with social media, I just don’t want it anymore. I’ve carefully considered this decision for almost a year now.  Now I know for sure that my desire to move away from personal accounts (yes, even my finsta) is based on nothing more than my interest in keeping a boundary between a public and a private life and wanting to spend more time looking up and out, rather than down.” Williams added that professional updates moving forward can be found via the band’s account. Lana Del Rey
The "Video Games" songstress deactivated her social media accounts in September 2021 after sharing a video with fans about why she needed a break from the internet. "Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know that tomorrow, we are going to be deactivating our social media accounts, my social media accounts," Del Rey said in the clip. "And that is simply because I have so many other interests and other jobs I'm doing that require privacy and transparency." She noted that she was still on track to release her eighth studio album, Blue Banisters, in October 2021. "I'm still present and I love what I do," she explained. "And I'm absolutely here for the music, and I'm also just going on some different endeavors. And I want to say thank you so much for all the support, and I do hope you like the record. It's a compilation of older songs and a few newer songs, some written by family and friends and mostly old collaborators, and there will probably always be more to come." Matt Baron/Shutterstock
Lorde
"I got rid of Twitter, I got rid of Instagram, I blocked YouTube, that was a big one," the "Solar Power" singer told James Corden in August 2021. "But now my social network is the New York Times cooking app. ... That's become a source of community for me." One month later, the New Zealand native went into more detail about her reason for stepping back from social media in Vogue’s October 2021 cover story. “I think I was known for having my finger on the pulse, so it was actually a huge decision philosophically for me to step back from that. But I started to see the phone as a portal,” Lorde explained. “I can’t keep going through that portal, in the same way that I wouldn’t just take mushrooms all these moments of a day. It’s too deep a tunnel.” She added: “I could sense that it would be very bad for the work and for me if I stayed online. I don’t think I’ve met too many people for whom social media is a net positive. It’s producing crazy chemicals, forming crazy neural pathways that are not rooted in positivity. … But I think we’ve got to be upfront about the things that are making us sick as a society.” PA Images/INSTAR
Delilah Belle Hamlin
In August 2021, the model told her followers that she needed some time away from her apps to focus on herself and her health. "On social media, we see what people want us to see. I want you to see that I'm not perfect," she wrote via Instagram. "For a long time, for many reasons, I didn't take my physical and mental health seriously. ... Right now I must prioritize my physical and mental health although I do feel weirdly guilty doing so. It's starting to get a bit scary so if I'm not as present on social media, if I don't meet deadlines, if I don't respond to messages, this is why. I'm sorry to everyone, but for me, I need to take this break to save my energy and use it to heal." Jason Mendez/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Scooter Braun

Lindsey Shaw
After receiving backlash for a TikTok in which she questioned a dance popularized by Black choreographers, the Ned’s Declassified alum revealed she was taking a break from social media in a teary Instagram Story video. "I just have to say right now that the hate in my inbox is not OK," she said in July 2021. "I did not mean anything in any kind of way. I am learning every day, as I think everybody is. And this kind of hate just needs to evaporate from the planet, no matter who it's directed towards. Crocodile tears? No, dude — this is like my soul out there. If you know anything about what I stand for or what I believe in, you know that it's not this." The actress continued, “For my own mental health, I needed to take a step back from social media anyway. But I'm not here to offend or belittle anybody. ... The intention wasn't that serious. I gotta just go off here for a little while. But I appreciate you, I love you and I'll be back. And I hope that I know more, and I hope we all have a little more compassion and understanding." Brie Larson
While commemorating the one-year anniversary of her YouTube channel in July 2021, the Captain Marvel star announced that she decided to put her social media project on hold for the moment. “So I did not think that I would hit the one-year mark on this, to be quite honest," she said in a video message to her followers. "I didn’t know how I’d feel putting myself out there weekly in this way. I think some of you know that I started this channel, I started thinking about it before the pandemic, and it was because I needed to just, like, I needed to shake it up. I needed to feel like I could just be silly and normal.” The Oscar winner explained that because film production had resumed more regularly after the coronavirus lockdowns of 2020, she would have less time to spend on her vlog. "I can’t keep up on doing videos weekly," she added. "I’ve got to go back to my job. My first job. My acting job.” YouTube
Bindi Irwin
The Crikey! It's the Irwins star announced she’d be taking a month-long break from the apps in June 2021, almost three months after giving birth to her daughter, Grace Warrior. “I feel tremendously grateful to share our life and conservation work with you but I need some time to focus on the happiness that is my family (both human and animal). You can keep up with our adventures by following my family and Australia Zoo on social media. 💙,” she wrote via Instagram. “Recently, I’ve had many people reaching out to share their own stories of working hard to protect their mental health. Thank you for sharing and speaking your truth. To my friends who are dealing with depression, anxiety and other battles every day — I see you. These issues are very real and deserve to be discussed and addressed. Surround yourself with the light of people who genuinely care about you and will support you during the good times and the hard times. Remember there are helplines available. Mental health deserves more understanding and support instead of being dismissed or patronised. You are absolutely worthy of love and kindness.” John Salangsang/Shutterstock
Margot Robbie
The Harley Quinn actress hadn’t been on Instagram for six weeks when she announced that she was officially taking a break in June 2021. “Jumping off social media for the time being - check out @luckychapentertainment if you’re interested in what we’re up to, otherwise ciao for now!” the Aussie revealed via Instagram. Along with the statement, she posted a picture of herself and some colleagues from Lucky Chap, her production company, celebrating their latest hit film, Promising Young Woman.  Richard Shotwell/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Eboni K. Williams
In June 2021, the Real Housewives of New York City star announced that she would be stepping away from social media for "about two weeks" because of difficult RHONY episodes that were about to air. "Tonight’s episode and next week’s episode are really intense and really important … and I want you to lean into them and I want you to watch them," she said in an Instagram video. "It's different this season. You're right. We're in a pandemic, we're in the middle of the most dynamic call to action around racial reconciliation, certainly in our generation, and we're in the heartbeat of it all in New York City. So we're doing a heavy lift here." Sophy Holland/Bravo
Rebel Wilson
After frequently showcasing her slimmer figure online throughout her "year of health" in 2020, the Pitch Perfect actress decided to take a step back to focus on her career. "I'm going to sign off for a bit because I'm filming a movie here in the U.K. that needs my full attention," she said in a March 2021 Instagram video. "It's a very different type of role for me, so I've really got to immerse myself in it. ... It's time for me to work my ass off, once again." Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Hailey Baldwin
"I don't even have a Twitter anymore because there was never really a time where I would go on there and it didn't feel like it was a very toxic environment," the model explained during a March 2021 YouTube video featuring psychiatrist Jessica Clemons. "The thought of even opening the app gives me such bad anxiety that I feel like I'm gonna throw up. ... I want everyone to like me, it's like, my downfall at times and I'm working through it. I think one thing I've had to come to the conclusion of is trying not to feel like I owe everybody an explanation or owe anybody anything, and really just try to correct what I need to correct personally behind closed doors." Baldwin also made some changes to her Instagram feed, restricting comments in order to create a more "encouraging and uplifting" environment. Matt Baron/Shutterstock
Kerry Washington
The Scandal alum announced in a Twitter video in March 2021 that she was “going to be gone for a few weeks” because she needed a break from social media. “I love you guys. … Miss you already,” she captioned the post. Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Evan Rachel Wood
The actress opened up about her decision to quit Twitter in September 2020, explaining that anytime she'd tweet her feelings, it would become a headline. "It would be, like, ‘Evan Rachel Wood goes on a rant!’ or ‘Evan Rachel Wood attacks this person!’” she told Variety. “Honestly, I think [deactivating my account is] one of the best decisions I ever made! Really." Photo by Bad Robot/HBO/Kobal/Shutterstock
Ant Anstead
The TV presenter announced his plans to take a break from social media in August 2020. “The world is crazy right now. And for all the good things social media has it also carries a toxic element,” he wrote via Instagram. “I have blocked over 100 people in the last few days. Humans are lashing out. And it saddens me! So I am going to take a little break! Use the time to pamper the wife, annoy the kids, eat a vast about of carbs and watch movies that were made in the 1980’s!  Be kind to each other and seeya. Cole Sprouse
The Riverdale star took a break from all platforms in June 2020 after being accused of sexual assault by an anonymous Twitter user. He denied the allegation before returning to Instagram the following month, writing, “Know I’ve been off of social media for a while. Decided to take a much needed mental health break. I’ve never been the most active user of social media, but even the minor amount I had been engaging during quarantine had become a bit too taxing.” John Salangsang/Shutterstock
Jenna Marbles
The YouTuber announced in June 2020 that she would be taking a step back from her channel after apologizing for past racist videos. “I’m not sure that I want to continue doing stuff on this channel,” she told her followers, after saying sorry for the use of blackface and more offensive sketches in her catalogue. “I don’t want to put anything out in the world that’s gonna hurt anybody. I need to be done with this channel for now or forever, I don’t know.” Eric Charbonneau/Shutterstock
Drew Barrymore
The actress returned to social media in March 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic. “So, I’ve been on a social media break for a while,” Barrymore wrote at the time alongside a series of memes. “I just haven’t known what to say... But here are some things my friends sent me that made me laugh this week, helping me remember the inventive comedy that lives in the wild world of social media ❤️” Charles Sykes/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Tom Holland
Though his account is still up and running, the Marvel star revealed to E! News in February 2020 that he had to delete the Instagram app from his phone entirely. "It was taking over my life, and I was becoming obsessed by it," he explained. "Like, 'How many likes did I get?' and 'What did people say about my picture?' and who's doing this and who's doing that. I found myself focusing more on my Instagram life than I was on my real life ... Now that I've taken a step back and I've started to focus on Tom and the future of what Tom is gonna be. I’m just working on myself, and I feel really great for it." Shutterstock
Lizzo
The “Juice” singer started off the new year with a bang — and a break from Twitter. On January 5, 2020, the “Good as Hell” artist told her followers that she is done with social media — for now. “Yeah I can’t do this Twitter shit no more … too many trolls,” she tweeted at the time. “I’ll be back when I feel like it.” When it comes to Instagram, however, the musician is still active. Ed Sheeran
The "Beautiful People" singer revealed his New Year's resolution a little early in December 2019. "The Divide era and tour changed my life in so many ways, but now it's all over it's time to go out and see some more of the world," the British songwriter wrote in an Instagram statement. "I've been a bit nonstop since 2017 so I'm just gonna take a breather to travel, write and read ... I promise to be back with some new music when the time is right." When the Magic Mike star announced his break from social media in August 2019, he said that he wanted to leave “for a minute” to focus on his creativity. In an Instagram statement, the actor wrote: “To be honest, I don’t really feel, or at least I haven’t felt very creative on social in the last couple years now. I’m gonna go and be just in the real world for a while and off my phone.” Erik Pendzich/Shutterstock
Demi Lovato
The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer paused her social media activity for several months following her July 2018 drug overdose. After seeking treatment in a rehab facility for three months, Lovato returned to Instagram for a good cause in November — to encourage people to get out and vote on Election Day. “I am so grateful to be home in time to vote!” she wrote alongside a shot of her at the booth. Lovato said goodbye to Twitter again in February 2019 after she was slammed for saying her "favorite part" of Super Bowl LIII was looking at memes about 21 Savage, who was arrested by U.S. immigration officials the morning of the big game and faces deportation. The Disney Channel alum clarified that she would never joke about "anyone getting deported," but still deactivated her social media account. She later wrote on her Instagram Story: "This break couldn't last long enough tbh." Lovato announced another Instagram break in July 2019 after showing support for her manager, Scooter Braun, amid his feud with Taylor Swift over his purchase of the "Shake It Off" singer's master recordings. "Taking a break for a while," Lovato wrote on her Instagram Story. "Be kind." INSTAR Images
Kunal Nayyar
The Big Bang Theory star announced he was “taking a break from social media for a while” in June 2019, nearly one month after the series finale aired. “Before I go, I wanted to leave you with this: I used to think that the opposite of fear was courage. But I realized that the opposite of fear is actually love. Love is the opposite of fear,” he wrote on Instagram. “So if you’re feeling anxious, or panicky, or fearful- just focus on being the most loving, compassionate, and empathetic human that lives inside of you. Today when you are out and about- smile at a stranger, hold open the door for someone, help a friend or a loved one in need. Because when you become the epitome of love, when you truly become love itself, fear can no longer exist. I promise you this. With all my heart... good bye for now. #namaste.” Stefanie Keenan/Getty Images
Iggy Azalea

Lil Xan
Saying he was “sad, mad, confused,” the rapper announced his social media hiatus in April 2018, shortly after revealing in an interview that he was “50/50” about whether fiancée Annie Smith had faked her pregnancy and miscarriage. “I Love you guys no matter what tho and to all the haters feel free to use me as a punching bag for your own insecurities,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “Going mia for awhile, need to get away from the devil (social media) but if you see me on the street say wassup.” Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Billboard
Aidy Bryant
The SNL star explained why she quit Twitter during a SXSW Q&A for her movie Shrill, "It's a bad space," she explained, "I think the thing that shocked me about it — and it’s really the reason I got off Twitter — was every time I played Sarah Huckabee Sanders … every time I did it, I would get a ton of tweets and 50 percent of them would be conservative people who would be like, ‘You are a fat disgusting pig who should not play this strong, independent woman.’ And the other 50 percent were like, ‘Aidy is too beautiful to play this fat, disgusting liar.’” Mike Jordan/Getty Images for SXSW
Cardi B
The “Money” rapper left social media in February 2019 after she faced backlash for winning the Best Rap Album Grammy over the late Mac Miller. Shortly before she deactivated her Instagram account, she posted a cryptic message that read, “I used to want this s—t foreva. Ya can have it back!” Cardi was only off Instagram for two days before she came “back from retirement” to promote her latest collaboration with Bruno Mars.  Amy Sussman/FilmMagic
Will Poulter
The Black Mirror: Bandersnatch star chose to “take a step back” from Twitter in January 2019 following the release of the interactive Netflix film. “As we all know there is a balance to be struck in our engagements with social media. There are positives to enjoy and inevitable negatives that are best avoided. It’s a balance I have struggled with for a while now and in the interest of my mental health I feel the time has come to change my relationship with social media,” the actor wrote on Twitter at the time, noting that he would continue to post on behalf of organizations with which he partners. “I am privileged to have this platform. I hope that this shift to reduce my personal expression and increase the focus on issues that matter will result in a better outcome for everyone. This is not the end. Consider it an alternative path.” Netflix
Jessie J
The singer announced in January 2019 that she was taking a step back from social media. “Starting my new year with some unexpected heavy personal stuff has only made me want to be more present in my life. Spending more real time with people I love and some time with myself. When sadness hits it’s important we embrace it, so it doesn’t define us and it’s for sure surfaced some emotions and things i need to work on with all my attention and love. I have to practice on myself what I talk about [on] stage and in my music too. In a good way :),” she penned via Instagram. “So I am taking a break from all social media for a while. Not forever, but for a while.”  She concluded: “For now, anything posted will be work related by my team. Want to live in the moment as much as I can, and not through my phone. I love you all. Need some time to focus on work and family. Can’t  thank you all enough for the love and support. Much love to you all.” Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic
Lili Reinhart
The Riverdale actress was sick of getting hate from "online trolls," so she kissed Twitter goodbye. Reinhart announced the departure in a series of pointed messages posted to her Instagram Story in December 2018. “Do people on twitter ever get tired of being so negative and disrespectful to literally everyone and everything? Are they really that miserable? There’s hate everywhere. But especially twitter," she wrote at the time. "it’s like a cesspool for evil 15 year olds who don’t know what the hell they’re talking about and have nothing better to do. Taking a break from that toxic site and the people on it who feel the need to constantly attack me, my cast mates, my relationship, and Riverdale. Hate to break it to you online trolls: Spreading your hate and overall negativity online won’t make you any less miserable.” Emma McIntyre/Getty Images
Selena Gomez
The "Wolves" singer took a hiatus from social media in September 2018 after her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, married Hailey Baldwin at a New York City courthouse. “As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given,” Gomez wrote alongside a photo of herself on Instagram. “Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings.” That wasn't her first time stepping away from the social media spotlight: The Disney Channel alum did the same in 2016 as well.  Frederick M. Pete Davidson
The Saturday Night Live star has a love-hate relationship with the internet. During his whirlwind romance with Ariana Grande during the summer of 2018, he deleted his page, explaining he didn’t “want to be on Instagram anymore. or on any social media platform.” He returned to Instagram in September to promote the upcoming premiere of Saturday Night Live, noting, “f–k the internet tho….” Davidson once again wiped his account clean in October after news broke that he and the “God Is a Woman” singer had ended their engagement. He later returned and, while keeping his posts to a bare minimum, the comedian did advise haters in December, “No mater how hard the internet or anyone tries to make me kill myself. I won’t.”  NBC

In October 2018, West deleted his pages after he made headlines for his pro-Donald Trump rant on Saturday Night Live and calling to abolish the 13th amendment on Twitter. He later returned to social media while on vacation in Uganda that same month but continued to keep a low profile. A year earlier, West shut down his Instagram account with a source explaining to Us, “It wasn’t a healthy outlet for him.”  Roy Rochlin/Getty Images
