Nicole Kidman: Keith Urban Is the ‘Best Thing That’s Ever Happened to Me’ Posted: 28 Jan 2022 10:10 AM PST Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are both natives of the land down under, but the couple met and fell in love on the other side of the world. The Big Little Lies star and Urban first crossed paths at the G’Day USA Gala — an event honoring Australians in Los Angeles — in 2005. Kidman was immediately smitten with the country singer, but Urban took a little longer to come around. “I remember thinking, I had such a crush on him, and he wasn’t interested in me,” Kidman told Ellen DeGeneres in 2017. “It’s true! He didn’t call me for four months.” However, the “God Whispered Your Name” singer didn’t immediately contact the actress because he wasn’t in the right mindset for a relationship at the time. “Somebody had given me her number and I had it in my pocket for a while. I kept looking at it thinking, ‘If I call this number, she’s going to answer. I don’t know what [to] say,'” Urban recalled on the Australian talk show Interview in 2018. “I wasn't in a very healthy place in my life.” He added, “I’d never have thought she'd see anything in a guy like me. But, at some point, I plucked up the courage to call those numbers and she answered, and we started talking and we talked and talked and talked and talked and it was effortless.” The couple later tied the knot in June 2006 in a romantic ceremony in Manly, Australia. Kidman and Urban’s wedded bliss was short-lived as the “Wasted Time” crooner entered rehab in October 2006 after the Bombshell star staged an intervention. “I caused the implosion of my fresh marriage,” Urban told Rolling Stone in 2016. "It survived, but it's a miracle it did. I was spiritually awoken with her. I use the expression 'I was born into her,' and that's how I feel. And for the first time in my life, I could shake off the shackles of addiction." Kidman gave birth to their first child, daughter Sunday Rose, in July 2008. Urban and the Moulin Rouge star welcomed their second daughter, Faith Margaret, via surrogate in December 2011. The Oscar winner is also the mother of daughter Isabella and son Conner, whom she adopted with her ex-husband Tom Cruise. The Lion star told Harper’s Bazaar in 2018 that her marriage has been successful because the couple always make time for each other. “Obviously I work hard, but when I'm off, I'm off," she explained. "Keith and I are very good at immediately clicking off because we have a really good life in Nashville that's very simple, quiet and nourishing because we've made it like that." Emma Roberts Says Life Has ‘Changed More’ Amid Garrett Hedlund Split News Posted: 28 Jan 2022 09:54 AM PST ![]() Changing and growing. Emma Roberts opened up about finding herself amid news of her split from Garrett Hedlund in a new interview. “I'm at a place where I can say, ‘I may not have got everything right but I like who I am more than I ever have,'” the American Horror Story actor, 30, told Tatler in a new cover story published on Friday, January 28, after declining to comment on her relationship with Hedlund, 37. “My life has changed more in the past two years than it did in the 28 years beforehand and I love where I'm standing now at the age of 30.” Instead, Roberts is focused on son Rhodes, who she shares with the Country Strong star, and enjoying motherhood. “I definitely think about how I can help him be the utmost gentleman,” the Scream Queens alum explained. She continued: “I want him to be respectful and intelligent at school but also in life. What it means to be a man is being rewritten right now and I hope my contribution to the world can be raising an amazing boy who turns into an amazing man. I want him to feel that there's nothing he couldn't ask or tell me.” Us Weekly confirmed earlier this month that Roberts and Hedlund called it quits after nearly three years of dating. While the Unfabulous alum hasn’t publicly commented on the breakup, she did hint about moving forward in an Instagram post on Thursday, January 27. “[I had] he most beautiful reset possible in my new favorite place,” she wrote, sharing photos from her relaxing Costa Rican getaway. The Belletrist cofounder has previously expressed her desire to keep her relationships — and breakups — out of the limelight. “I never want to talk about relationships I'm in or that are ending or have ended. It's hard enough to be with someone by yourself, let alone with an audience,” Roberts told Cosmopolitan in May 2019. Explaining that growing up as a celebrity has made it “hard to have a private moment,” Roberts noted that “because of Twitter and Instagram, there's a whole other element where everybody can comment on what you're doing and no one knows the real story.” Ultimately, the Holidate star is OK with keeping her love life under wraps. “I think I know what's true, and I know what happened in my own life and so do the people who love me and who I love,” she said at the time. Like Roberts, Hedlund has not yet openly commented on the split. Hours before Us confirmed the breakup, the TRON: Legacy star released his debut single “The Road,” which seemingly chronicled a tumultuous relationship. “4000 miles to just be still / Was it worth it / I said goodbye and I love you as well / I know you heard it," Hedlund sings in the ballad, which was released on Friday, January 21. "But the road has ways / Of taking away things that you know / The road has ways / Of saying you'll stay, but you don't / The road has ways of making mistakes.” The Modern Love alum was later arrested for public intoxication on Saturday, January 23. Us confirmed that Hedlund was was taken into custody in Franklin County, Tennessee, and was released the following day. His next court date is set for March 28. |
Emma Roberts and Garrett Hedlund: The Way They Were Posted: 28 Jan 2022 09:30 AM PST From rebound to real romance? Emma Roberts and Garrett Hedlund kept a relatively low profile before their split made headlines in January 2022, but they shared a few inside glimpses of their relationship throughout their three years together. Us Weekly broke the news in March 2019 that the Scream Queens alum and the Country Strong star were dating following her split from on-again, off-again fiancé Evan Peters. "Garrett and Emma have been friends, but this is new, casual and just a couple of weeks old," a source told Us at the time. Relationship speculation began when the pair was spotted out for a stroll in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles. Hedlund "had his arm around [her] for a bit and then they were holding hands," according to an eyewitness. As for Roberts and Peters, the American Horror Story costars "were heading for a split" before she moved on. "[They] now are just friends," an insider said. "Evan has moved out. It wasn't a bad breakup." The Nancy Drew star and the X-Men: Days of Future Past actor were less under the radar during their years-long relationship. They began dating in 2012. She made headlines in 2013 when she was arrested following a fight with Peters that left him with a bloody nose. Their reps told Us at the time that the altercation was an "unfortunate incident and misunderstanding" and she "was released after questioning" and "working together [with Peters] to move past it." The duo got engaged in 2013 but split briefly in 2015 before reconciling the following year. Their struggles were not over, though. Us confirmed in October 2017 that Roberts was involved in Rachel Bilson's breakup from Hayden Christensen earlier that year. A source revealed at the time that the Hart of Dixie alum found text messages that made her believe the Star Wars actor was having an inappropriate relationship with the Unfabulous alum. In November 2017, a source told Us she was "still very much together" with Peters despite the allegations. Hedlund, for his part, previously dated Kirsten Dunst from 2011 to 2016. While Hedlund and Roberts were together, they shared a California home and welcomed their first son, Rhodes, in December 2020. The Minnesota native later gushed about bonding with their son while Roberts returned to work. "The best part is we were just in Boston, my gal, was working so it was every day all day with mister young man,” he told Extra in July 2021. “My favorite part of every day was the bedtime stories [with] me telling him stories of his grandfathers, which was wonderful for me and hopefully him. It was just a really sweet, connecting dad moment." Us Weekly confirmed that the two split in January 2022. In Touch first broke the news. Emma Roberts Was 'Obsessed' With the Royal Family While Filming 'Wild Child' Posted: 28 Jan 2022 09:24 AM PST Stars, they're just like Us — they get invested in the royal family as much as we do! Celebrities don't shy away from singing the praises of the royals. Whether it's gushing over the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, or excitedly anticipating the wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prior to their big day, stars have royal fangirl moments too. Many high-profile stars, including the Beckhams, Elton John, Lady Gaga, and Reese Witherspoon have been lucky enough to meet or perform with members of the British monarchy over the years. Some count the royal family as great friends and others freak out over their encounters. Years before Emma Corrin was tapped to play Princess Diana on Netflix's The Crown, they attended the royal wedding of Prince William and Duchess Kate in 2011, which began their royals' fever. The My Policeman star recalled the events during a June 2021 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Corrin told the late-night host at the time that they weren't always a "massive royal family person," but things changed after attending the wedding. "I remember 10 years ago, I was 15, I was with my friend Katherine and we got very, very swept up in the royal wedding fever, I think probably because we were both very bored and very single," the actor continued. "So we decided to go." In preparation for the big event at London's Westminster Abbey, the two friends studied the royal couple's love story by watching a "made for television" movie about the duo. While they weren't on the guest list to step foot in the church, Corrin and their friend were just "so excited" to stand in the crowd and watch this special occasion from afar. Television host James Corden has also been open about his friendship with the royals, and Prince Harry, in particular. The Peter Rabbit star was one of the celebrities that landed a coveted invite to the Invictus Games founder's wedding to Meghan Markle in May 2018. Reliving the event on his late-night CBS talk show, Corden called the event "a picture-perfect day. Windsor Castle, 600 guests, 30,000 flowers — or as Elton John calls it, a Thursday." During the Late Late Show With James Corden segment, Corden further reflected on his friendship with Archie and Lili's dad. "I've known Prince Harry about seven years now, and it was wonderful," he said at the time. "It was one of the most beautiful ceremonies I've ever been to … It was happy, and it was joyous, it was uplifting . . . Elton was there; he performed some songs in the afternoon." In fact, according to a story via Cleo Rocos’ 2013 memoir, the actress once went partying with Freddie, the Princess of Wales and Kenny Everett and it soon became a “wild night out.” The group had spent the afternoon drinking and watching Golden Girls before going clubbing at the gay cabaret bar, the Royal Vauxhall Tavern in South London. In “mischief mode,” Diana dressed as a “rather eccentrically dressed gay male model” to go incognito, Rocos recalled. Justin Hartley and Chrishell Stause: The Way They Were Posted: 28 Jan 2022 09:06 AM PST This is now. Justin Hartley and Chrishell Stause called it quits in 2019 after two years of marriage. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the This Is Us star submitted the papers on November 22, 2019. While he claimed in his docs that the twosome split the previous July, Stause listed their date of separation as the same day he filed for divorce. "I found out because he text[ed] me that we were filed. Forty-five minutes later, the world knew," the real estate agent claimed during season 3 of the Netflix series Selling Sunset. “I talked to him right after [he filed] because I thought that must be a joke. That was kind of the end of the communication. What am I supposed to say? What do you say after that? Like now I have to find a place to live, now I have to scramble and figure this out.” Stause added that she was going through a "roller-coaster" of emotions at the time. "It takes a toll on your soul, where you just feel like … the anger!" she said. "Like how could you do it this way? And the sadness, like, I love him so much. This was my best friend." While Hartley stayed mum on the split, a source told Us at the time that he wasn't thrilled with his ex talking about their divorce on Selling Sunset. "Justin has not watched the episodes but has been alerted to what is said," the insider said in August 2020. "He's irritated that she's airing their private information publicly and knows there is more to the story than is being told. His close friends and family know what really happened, as does Chrishell, so ultimately it's her choice of what is put out there." Hartley and Stause married in October 2017 after dating for four years. Not long before they split, the actress opened up to Us about waiting to expand their family. "We don't know [when] yet," she said in May 2019. "I have a stepdaughter (Justin has a daughter), so we've got our hands full with high school." While Hartley and Stause never expanded their family, it took them more than one year to finalize their divorce. Us exclusively revealed in January 2021 that a judge signed off on the paperwork. "Both parties entered into a confidential settlement as to terms of the divorce, including spousal support," a source told Us, confirming that the twosome did not sign a prenup. They first met when Chrishell was working with Justin’s ex-wife, Lindsay Hartley, on the set of All My Children. The two began dating years later. Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() Hartley popped the question in July 2016 after dating Stause for two years. Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() In March, Hartley told Us about his go-to daily activity that he loves to do for his wife. “I’m an early riser, so when I hear her coming down the stairs in the morning, I turn on the coffee maker for her and get espresso going,” he said. “She really loves that I do that.” Shutterstock ![]() The 38-year-old actress admitted in March that her man knows the way to her heart … through cheese. After filming a movie in New Orleans, Stause flew to meet Hartley in New York and when she arrived he had a cheese board waiting in their room. “If you know me, that is like my love language. … That’s the sixth on the love languages, if you didn’t know,” she told Us at the time. “So he had a cheese board waiting for me and a bottle of wine. And it was just so sweet and so nice, and just like one of those things.” Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() She told Us in May that her husband is nothing like his This Is Us character … thank goodness. “Thank God because he wouldn’t be a very good husband,” she said. “There’s parts of Kevin that are good, but I don’t think I’d want to be married to him, you know? So luckily, Kevin gets all of his charm, but I get both. I also get the good husband’s side. So, I win!” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() On their one-year anniversary, he couldn’t help but gush about his wife. “The best day, the best friends and family, the best wife! Mike Nelson/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock ![]() “Well #ThisIsUs didn’t take home the trophy but I am taking him home so looks like I am the big winner tonight!” she captioned a sweet photo with her man at the 2019 Emmys in September. “I now also win the cheesy caption award if there is an award for that-double winner! 😜😜 (Sorry guys, they serve alcohol here) 🤪😆🙌🏽💗." Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() On November 22, 2019, Us confirmed that Hartley had filed for divorce from Stause after two years of marriage. The NBC star cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and listed July as their date of separation. Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() Stause shared a cryptic quote on Instagram in November 2019, days after her split from Hartley made headlines. “It’s hard to watch people change right in front of you. But it’s even harder remembering who they used to be,” the message read. She also updated her Twitter and Instagram bios with positive quotes. John Salangsang/Shutterstock ![]() While the Bad Moms Christmas actor listed their date of separation as July 8, 2019, the Selling Sunset star cited the date that Justin filed for divorce as their date of separation: November 22, 2019. According to the paperwork, Stause is seeking spousal support from and asking her estranged husband to pay for her attorney’s fees, but Justin does not believe he owes his wife of two years any money. Dan Steinberg/Invision/AP/Shutterstock; Willy Sanjuan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Hartley opened up about appreciating life following the split while attending the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in January 2020. “We have hectic lives and everyone’s busy and rushing all over the place and trying to occupy space and time and get to the next thing and you have to slow down every once in a while and just kind of realize where you are, appreciate what you’ve done and reflect a little bit and be like, what’s going on here? And make sure you’re OK,” he told reporters. “Surround yourself with good people. That’s a good thing to do as well.” Four months later, Stause exclusively told Us Weekly that she is trying to “focus on the positive side of things.” While promoting her new season of Selling Sunset, she told Us: “Transitions are hard … thankfully there is a lot to focus on right now.” Shutterstock ![]() Stause, however, got emotional on season 2 of her Netflix show. In a teaser, the Kentucky native could be shown crying over her split from the actor. She also got choked up while promoting the show in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in May 2020. "Where the show picks up, that was my life and unfortunately you are going to follow the journey of that — the good and the bad. When it gets to the bad, I am going to go under a rock and I am going to go off the grid.” She added: "I obviously really, truly love him and it's unfortunate the way that everything happened and the timing of everything. I still had a month to plot shooting the show when this all went down. Hopefully we can get to a place where one day we will look back at this and laugh. I don't know, hopefully. It's very unfortunate and relationships are hard." Netflix ![]() During season 3 of Selling Sunset, which dropped on Netflix in August 2020, Stause claimed that she found out Hartley filed for divorce via a text he sent. Within 45 minutes, their split was in the news. During the new episodes, she said she was confused by the way he filed without speaking to her first. "When I think of marriage, I think you work on things with people. They’re not perfect, no one is. You work on it. You talk about it," Stause said in a confessional. "You don’t go out looking for greener grass. Sometimes you have to water the grass that you have, and that’s what marriage is." Courtesy of Chrishell Stause/Instagram ![]() After season 3 of Selling Sunset premiered on Netflix in August 2020, a source told Us exclusively that Hartley wasn't pleased with the way his estranged wife discussed their split on the show. "Justin has not watched the episodes but has been alerted to what is said," the insider added. "He's irritated that she's airing their private information publicly and knows there is more to the story than is being told. His close friends and family know what really happened, as does Chrishell, so ultimately it's her choice of what is put out there." In an August interview with the Los Angeles Times, however, Stause defended her choice to share her personal story on TV. "It does give a little bit of purpose to the pain," she said. Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() Following the premiere of Selling Sunset, Stause raised eyebrows when she was caught "liking" tweets alleging that Hartley may have cheated on her before filing for divorce. Despite speculation, a source close to the actor told Us that any rumors were "absolutely false" and that the former couple was having problems before their November 2019 split. Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() The Smallville alum's ex-wife Lindsay Korman-Hartley spoke out in his defense after the cheating allegations, noting that she's "thankful" for everything her ex does for her and their daughter, Isabella. The teenager later shared her mom's post to her Instagram Story. "Today, I appreciate my ex-husband Justin for not only being [an] exemplification of a solid man but for being my dear friend and devoted father to our daughter," Korman-Hartley wrote on Instagram in August. "Simply put; for being family. We derive our own opinion of people by experiencing life and time together, and we do our best to hold dear the ones that maintain consistent kindness, love and generosity. ... No matter what conflicts Justin and I had in the past, I appreciate what we have today and I am thankful for the family we have built." Stause seemingly responded, sharing a quote on her own Instagram Story shortly after Korman-Hartley’s post. "Be the woman who fixes another woman’s crown without telling the world it was crooked,” the quote read. Below it, she added, “Women who build each other up are my tribe." Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() Hartley’s friends are happy that his ex “is no longer in his life and he can move on,” a source shared with Us exclusively in August. “He is doing well right now, and while it’s been disappointing that he is being dragged into story lines on reality TV, he knew that he should expect this.” Additionally, the insider noted that Stause was “very jealous” of the women he interacted with, even if they were “strict work relationships.” Rob Latour/Shutterstock; Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock ![]() Us broke the news in January 2021 that Hartley and Stause’s marriage was officially over. The former couple’s agreement — including the details of their prenup — are confidential. “Chrishell has moved on with her life,” a source told Us at the time, adding that she “is looking forward to new beginnings” with boyfriend Keo Motsepe. Hartley, for his part, has been seeing Sofia Pernas since May 2020. Christy Radecic/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Hartly quietly married Sofia Pernas in May 2021 and gushed several months later that "everything is easier" with the actress by his side."It's incredible when you're not forcing things. It doesn't have to be that hard," he told Haute Living in December 2021, seemingly hinting at his past romance with Stause. "You just meet the right person and you just go, 'Oh, this is amazing. It's just so wonderful!' You're so attracted and so attached to this person. You just love this person so much. ... I want to rise to the occasion because she's so great. She does make me want to be a better person, and [this kind of love] certainly does complete me." Casey Flanigan/Shutterstock ![]() Stause opened up about the pair's marriage and divorce in her 2022 memoir, Under Construction, acknowledging that "there were definitely signs that things were far from perfect" before the twosome called it quits."The last thing I want to do is rehash old wounds but being so far away from it now I can see that what happened was a gift. Now I understand much more clearly how I deserve to be treated," she wrote. "When someone is in love, it's hard to convince that person that the relationship isn't right. Even if he's waving red flags like a bullfighter to everyone around you, you're the girl striding right up to him, oblivious to any impending danger. You're too distracted and in your own world to listen. ... If you're a naturally optimistic person like I am, it's hard to look for warning signs when you're falling in love. You're hopeful, and no one's perfect, and everything in you wants it to work."The former actress also noted that "nothing was exaggerated" when the split played out on Selling Sunset season 3. "I was terrified to put all that on camera. ... It was horrible, and because it happened while I was in the middle of filming a reality show, it's forever out there for the world to see," she recalled. Shutterstock(3) |
Already Over! Chrishell Stause and Keo Motsepe’s Romance: A Timeline Posted: 28 Jan 2022 09:05 AM PST Finding love on the dance floor — or behind-the-scenes? Chrishell Stause met pro dancer Keo Motsepe in September 2020 after being cast on season 29 of Dancing With the Stars. During the season, the duo — who were paired with Anne Heche and Gleb Savchenko, respectively, didn’t spend any time together onscreen. In fact, many thought that Stause was romantically involved Savchenko after he announced he had split from wife Elena Samodanova days after being sent home from the ABC reality show. Both the Russian dancer and the realtor shot down the claims. "Our friendship during our season on DWTS was not the reason for our split," he said in a statement in November 2020. "Elena and I have had longstanding issues in our marriage. This has been an ongoing situation between Elena and I paired with poor timing." Later that month, the Selling Sunset star added that while she understands that fans saw chemistry on Dancing With the Stars, it was just dancing. "I feel like it really is annoying because it's one of those things where, you know, unfortunately, the timing of what he's going through personally, people want to make it into something it's not. We’re just friends," the former actress said on November 24. “I get it. I've been on soaps. You have to have that kind of stuff sometimes when you're on the dance floor. People misinterpret that.” Just one week later, fans were shocked when Stause and Meotsepe revealed they were dating via Instagram. Savchenko, who is one of Motsepe’s best friends, commented, "Love you guys” on the post. During an Instagram Live chat with Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick the next day, Stause revealed that she told her friends about the relationship at Keo’s birthday party. “I think that was the night where we were like, 'I don't know how much [longer] we can hide this for,'” the All My Children alum, who is eight years older than Motsepe, said at the time. “I had a little bit of a hang-up at first because I was worried because he's younger. But, a lot of guys my age and older still don't want what I am looking for.” She later said on Nick Viall‘s “Viall Files” podcast that she was also hesitant to share the romance after going through a very public split from Justin Hartley in November 2019. “He pursued [me],” she said of Motsepe on December 7. “Soon after we made it official, we went ahead and shared it. … It's already hard enough as it is when something is promising. I don't want to add any more pressure.” Three months into their romance, however, Us confirmed that Stause and Motsepe had called it quits. Merry Christmas everyone from mine to yours!!! Sending you all so much love," she captioned the photos before responding to those who brought up the concern of the large crowd amid COVID-19. "I normally always try to be socially responsible with my posts because I am naturally a compassionate person. I can see how this does not show that to some. I understand you won’t agree, but at least so you can see where I am coming from- This is my immediate family and we all are able to test before and after," she added. "This is the first Christmas without our mom we felt important to be there for each other in a tough year. Keo brought such welcomed happiness and selfishly I posted in a very happy moment. "He was a tall dancer, and he started off as this amazing, positive, generous guy," she wrote. "I took him home for Christmas to meet my family. After the honeymoon phase, though, things took a turn. This time, instead of making excuses for his behavior, I actually opened my eyes, pushed past the smoke and mirrors, and saw the truth. ... Before him, after a breakup I usually couldn't eat or sleep, but this time was much different. I took care of myself, I kept busy, and I felt strong knowing that I'd done the right thing for me. Instead of feeling sorry for myself after we broke up, I felt empowered." Shutterstock(3) |
Idina Menzel Still Isn't Over John Travolta's Oscars Flub: 'Not My Name' Posted: 28 Jan 2022 08:41 AM PST ![]() An unforgettable moment! Idina Menzel went back in time to reflect on some of her favorite roles through the years — and included one name that even she still doesn’t recognize. “My name is Idina, but they call me …#notmyname,” Menzel, 50, captioned a TikTok video on Thursday, January 27, while participating in the viral “Not My Name” challenge. In the clip, the song “That’s Not My Name” played in the background as images of the the actress in character flashed on the screen. The post started off with her time on Broadway as Elphaba in Wicked, her portrayal of Maureen in Rent and her role as Lea Michele‘s mom on Glee. The video continued with scenes of her as Nancy in Enchanted, Elsa in Disney’s Frozen, Vivian in Camila Cabello‘s rendition of Cinderella and Dinah in Uncut Gems. ![]() The social media upload ended with a brief clip from her performer at the 86th Academy Awards in 2014, which was introduced by John Travolta. Menzel captioned the moment “??????” as she poked fun at Travolta, 67, calling her Adele Dazeem before she began singing “Let It Go” from Frozen. When the flub occurred, it instantly went viral. At the time, the Carrie actor issued an apology for his mistake. “I’ve been beating myself up all day,” he said in a statement to Us Weekly in March 2014. “Then I thought … What would Idina Menzel say? She’d say, ‘Let it go, let it go!’ Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars [on] Sunday night!” The singer, for her part, admitted that the experience “threw” her off before she took the stage. “But then I just got back on track and reminded myself of where I was, and what a beautiful moment it was,” the Beaches actress explained to Billboard that same month, noting that Travolta reached out to her privately to apologize. “He was really gracious and sent this gorgeous email, and we’re buddies and it’s all cool. Please. I mean, I’ve only benefited from it!” The New York native later referred to the snafu as “the best mistake” that ever happened to her, telling Redbook in November 2014, “Just having the kind of success where people might know my name — my real name! It took me a long time to stop chasing it and just embrace it.” During the 2015 Academy Awards, Menzel joined in on the fun by referring to Travolta as “Glom Gazingo” when they presented the Oscar for Best Original Song together. |
Evangeline Lilly's Costar Seemingly Calls Her Out After Anti-Vax Protest Posted: 28 Jan 2022 08:36 AM PST ![]() Sharing her opinion. After Evangeline Lilly made headlines over her attendance at an anti-vaccine protest in Washington, D.C., the MCU actress is sharing her thoughts on why she went. "I was in DC this weekend to support bodily sovereignty while Canadian truckers were rallying for their cross-country, peaceful convoy in support of the same thing," the Ant-Man and the Wasp star, 42, shared via Instagram on Thursday, January 27. "I believe nobody should ever be forced to inject their body with anything, against their will, under threat of violent attack, arrest or detention without trial, loss of employment, homelessness, starvation, loss of education, alienation from loved ones, ex-communication from society [sic] … under any threat whatsoever." The Canada native shared footage from the march, including protestors holding signs that read, "Vaxxed Democrat for Medical Freedom," "Nurses for Vaxx-Choice" and "Feds for Medical Freedom." The Lost alum continued in her social media upload: "This is not the way. This is not safe. This is not healthy. This is not love. I understand the world is in fear, but I don't believe that answering fear with force will fix our problems. I was pro choice before COVID and I am still pro choice today." She also added an assortment of hashtags in her post, including "medical choice," "medical freedom," "bodily autonomy," "bodily sovereignty," "defeat the mandates DC" and "I am with you." ![]() Her Ant-Man costar David Dastmalchian seemingly called out her beliefs hours later on Thursday, tweeting, “It's so unfortunate when people with a large platform use that platform to share irresponsible things." While Dastmalchian, 46, who plays Kurt in the 2015 superhero movie, has not further explained his social media message, Lilly's protest attendance is hardly the first time she's been outspoken about her controversial opinions about the coronavirus pandemic. "Where we are right now feels a lot too close to Marshall [sic] Law for my comfort already, all in the name of a respiratory flu," she wrote via an Instagram comment in March 2020, dismissing the severity of COVID-19. "It's unnerving. … Let's be vigilant right now. And kind. Watchful and gracious — keeping a close eye on our leaders, making sure they don't abuse this moment to steal away more freedoms and grab more power. There's 'something' every election year." At the time, Lilly's comments soon sparked a debate among her social media followers. The actress — who shares two children with partner Norman Kali — refused to self-quarantine in a separate message, further alleging, "I think we all need to slow down, take a breath and look at the facts we are being presented with." Chrishell Stause Compares 'Red Flags' in Exes Justin Hartley, Keo Motsepe Posted: 28 Jan 2022 08:18 AM PST Not holding back! Chrishell Stause is spilling all the tea about her past relationships in her new memoir, Under Construction, dishing on what went wrong with ex-husband Justin Hartley and ex-boyfriend Keo Motsepe. Stause, 40, recalled being “pretty much inseparable from day one” after meeting Hartley, 44, in an excerpt shared by E! News ahead of the book’s February release. “I fell hard and fast and thought that he hung the moon,” the Selling Sunset star wrote. “I didn’t mind my love life being public because it was something I was so proud of. I always wanted to have a family, and at the time I thought I was with the love of my life. However, I never could have predicted how it all came crashing down so forcefully.” Us Weekly confirmed in November 2019 that the This Is Us actor filed for divorce from Stause after two years of marriage. Their dramatic split played out on season 3 of the Netflix reality show, with the Kentucky native claiming that Hartley told her via text that he was filing. Us broke the news in January 2021 that the duo’s divorce was finalized. “Although there were definitely signs that things were far from perfect, ending things in such a finite way, without talking it through, was a complete shock,” she wrote, noting that she no longer sees Hartley’s 17-year-old daughter, Isabella, whom he shares with ex-wife Lindsay Korman. “The last thing I want to do is rehash old wounds but being so far away from it now I can see that what happened was a gift. Now I understand much more clearly how I deserve to be treated.” The former soap opera actress confessed that sometimes even the healthiest relationship can “turn toxic over time” because “it simply wasn’t meant to be.” In other cases, the signs can be easy for people to spot. “When someone is in love, it’s hard to convince that person that the relationship isn’t right,” she continued. “Even if he’s waving red flags like a bullfighter to everyone around you, you’re the girl striding right up to him, oblivious to any impending danger. You’re too distracted and in your own world to listen.” Stause noted that going through a divorce — especially a public one — can be “humiliating” and “make you feel like a failure as a person.” After the end of her marriage, she “contemplated quitting” Selling Sunset. However, she was reminded that “the show was not looking to exploit my pain, but instead would allow me to share my story on my own terms.” The Dancing With the Stars alum “was terrified” of having that part of her personal life filmed for the reality TV series — but she assured fans that “nothing was exaggerated” for the cameras. Eventually, she gave herself “some distance” from her relationship with Hartley and sparked a romance with Motsepe, 32, whom she met while competing on season 29 of the ABC ballroom dance show. “I did fall for another love bomber not long after my divorce, and we were quickly heading toward real commitment,” Stause wrote. “He was a tall dancer, and he started off as this amazing, positive, generous guy. I took him home for Christmas to meet my family. After the honeymoon phase, though, things took a turn. This time, instead of making excuses for his behavior, I actually opened my eyes, pushed past the smoke and mirrors, and saw the truth.” The twosome called it quits in February 2021 after three months of dating. At the time, a source exclusively told Us that Motsepe was “caught in a web of lies,” adding, “He genuinely loved her but made a big mistake.” Stause later accused the South Africa native of “playing the victim” amid their breakup in a lengthy Instagram Story post. In her book, the Days of Our Lives alum emphasized that she was the one who decided to end the whirlwind romance — and she felt “empowered” after doing so. “I made choices where I continued to date the same ‘type’ [after Justin], even though those types tended to not be a good fit for me,” Stause wrote. “I let things slide when I shouldn’t have and didn’t pay close enough attention to early warning signs. … [After Keo], I took care of myself, I kept busy, and I felt strong knowing that I’d done the right thing for me.” Stause went on to date her boss Jason Oppenheim before splitting in December 2021. Chris Brown Sued for Allegedly Drugging and Raping Woman on Yacht Posted: 28 Jan 2022 07:06 AM PST Chris Brown is being sued by a woman claiming he drugged and raped her at a December 2020 yacht party in Miami, according to TMZ. The singer, 32, allegedly invited the professional choreographer, dancer, model and musical artist — going by Jane Doe — to the boat parked at Diddy's Star Island home via FaceTime, according to documents obtained by the outlet on Thursday, January 27. The then-med student claimed she felt "disoriented, physically unstable, and started to fall in and out of sleep" after accepting two drinks from the Grammy winner. She went on to allege that the Virginia native led her to a bedroom where he raped her, requesting via text the following day that she take a Plan B. The woman, who is represented by attorneys Ariel Mitchell and George Vrabeck, is allegedly suing the dancer for $20 million in damages for severe emotional distress. Brown responded to the claims via Instagram Stories on Friday, January 28, writing, “I HOPE Y’ALL SEE THIS PATTERN OF whenever I’m releasing music or projects ‘THEY’ try to pull some real bulls–t.” The songwriter was previously accused of rape and detained in Paris in January 2019. When the "Take You Down" singer was released from custody, French authorities told TMZ that "the investigations, which are not closed at this stage, will continue under the authority of the Paris prosecutor's office." In a since-deleted Instagram post about the accusations, Brown called the claims "false" and "disrespectful." ![]() The actor has made headlines for his legal troubles numerous times over the years. In February 2009, Brown physically assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna. The “Run It” singer pleaded guilty to the felony and served five years of probation, as well as doing community service and attending domestic violence counseling. "I’m pretty sure we can always be friends," Brown told Larry King in his first interview about the incident in September 2009. "I don’t know about our relationship, but I just know definitely that we ended as friends." The on-again, off-again couple briefly reconciled in 2012. In November 2018, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the duo are "in frequent contact" and "supportive of each other's projects." Rihanna, 33, told Vanity Fair in 2015 that she “was very protective” of her ex, explaining, “I felt that people didn't understand him. But you know, you realize after a while that in that situation you're the enemy. You want the best for them, but if you remind them of their failures, or if you remind them of bad moments in their life, or even if you say, 'I'm willing to put up with something,' they think less of you — because they know you don't deserve what they're going to give." Brown was also arrested in West Palm Beach, Florida, in 2017 for an outstanding warrant one year after he was accused of punching a photographer. Brown posted $2,000 in bail at the time and was released from jail, pleading not guilty in July 2018. ![]() Most recently, the American Music Award winner was under investigation in Los Angeles due to accusations he struck a woman. The alleged altercation took place at his home, with LAPD spokeswomen officer Lizeth Lomeli telling Us, "The female victim advised she and the suspect argued and the suspect struck her. A crime report for battery was completed." Chris Brown did not immediately respond to Us Weekly‘s request for comment. |
Ariel Winter Through the Years: ‘Modern Family’ and More Posted: 28 Jan 2022 06:45 AM PST Young Hollywood royalty! Ariel Winter rose to fame on ABC’s beloved sitcom Modern Family, but her role as Alex Dunphy was hardly her first go-round. By the time the Virginia native landed the role of Phil (Ty Burrell) and Julie Dunphy’s (Julie Bowen) middle child, she had already appeared in shows including ER, Bones, Nip/Tuck and Monk. In 2009, however, she landed the role that made her a household name. Modern Family ran from September of that year to April 2020, with the cast winning the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series four times before the finale. Winter was only 11 years old when she was cast as Alex, so when the show ended, she’d spent nearly half her life playing the same character. While the Criminal Minds alum’s career was flourishing, however, her personal life was falling apart. In 2014, Winter was placed in the custody of her adult sister, Shanelle Workman, after years of accusations that their mother, Chrisoula “Crystal” Workman, had abused Ariel physically and emotionally. The actress later claimed that her mom sexualized her from a very young age, dressing her in “the smallest miniskirts” and “low-cut things” from the time she was 7. “People thought I was 24 when I was 12,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in September 2017. “If there was going to be a nude scene when I was that age, my mother would have a thousand percent said yes." Chrisoula has always denied her daughter’s allegations, but the two never reconciled. "I went through a really rough period, a really bad chapter,” Winter said in the same interview. The former Phineas and Ferb voice actress has also been open about how much she’s struggled with body image over the years. During a December 2021 interview on Red Table Talk: The Estefans, the SAG Award winner remembered how tough it was to grow up in the public eye while starring on Modern Family. “I got called a fat slut when I was 13,” she recalled. “That was rough. Because I gained weight and my body changed, I had to wear different outfits.” While many of the show’s fans were supportive, she remembered that others were upset that she “didn’t look like Alex” in real life. Her struggles continued after she started medication that made her gain weight and social media trolls flooded her accounts with comments about her appearance. With help from a therapist, she eventually learned how to quiet the voices telling her she wasn’t good enough, but she noted that self-love isn’t a one-and-done task. “I’m definitely still on a journey,” she explained in December 2021. Her previous breast size was causing her severe back pain, but it was also affecting her career. "I couldn't play younger roles anymore. So why would they hire me when they could hire someone that was 18 or 19?" Picture Perfect/Shutterstock ![]() Winter made headlines when she wore a dress to the SAG Awards that didn't hide the scars from her surgery. Bob Saget's Daughter Lara Praises His 'Unconditional Love': Touching Tribute Posted: 28 Jan 2022 05:45 AM PST Words of wisdom. Bob Saget's daughter Lara reflected on what her dad taught her in a Thursday, January 27, Instagram post honoring the late comedian. "To anyone afraid to love, Unconditional love is the greatest of gifts," the curator, 32, captioned a throwback photo of herself with the Full House alum, who died on January 9 at age 65. "My dad loved with everything he had. He had so many reasons to be scared to love. So many loved ones kept dropping the body. Instead of being scared, he loved more." Lara called herself "beyond grateful to receive" her father's love and will continue to "give that" back to others, concluding, “Love completely and be kind. Of all the lessons he taught me, these feel the biggest." Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, reposted the social media upload to her Instagram Stories, adding that the actor's "love for his girls is otherworldly and unmatched." ![]() After news broke that the Pennsylvania native died in his Orlando, Florida, hotel room amid his comedy tour, Saget's eldest daughter, Aubrey, shared the last text she got from him via Instagram. "Thank u. Love u," the screenshot read. "Showtime!" Saget is also survived by daughter Jennifer, whom he shares with ex-wife Sherri Kramer, as well as Rizzo, 42. The Eat Travel Rock blogger fought back tears on January 20 while remembering their last conversation during a Today show appearance. "I think I said, 'I love you dearly.' And he said, 'I love you endlessly,'" the Chicago native recalled. "And then I said, 'I can’t wait to see you tomorrow.' … It was just all love." The former realtor said that there was "nothing left unsaid" between herself and the Dirty Daddy author, whom she wed in October 2018. "I know that every second that we had together was just maximized to the fullest and we absolutely — there was … nothing left on the table," Rizzo explained. "So those are things that I’m just trying to hold onto. … What was always so special is every time he would be out of town, he would always try to. He loved to sleep in, but when he was away … he would go to bed at 2 a.m. and then wake up at 4 a.m. so he could be on the 6 a.m. flight so he could come home and just so we could spend time together. We valued every single second that we had together. That’s why, you know, this is so heartbreaking." |
Brad Pitt Is 'Not Dating' Lykke Li — But She's a Big Angelina Jolie Fan Posted: 27 Jan 2022 04:39 PM PST An interesting development? Brad Pitt and Lykke Li recently had fans convinced they were more than just friends — but multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly that the pair are strictly platonic. The 35-year-old "I Follow Rivers" artist — who shares 6-year-old son Dion with ex Jeff Bhasker — and the 58-year-old Oklahoma native sparked dating rumors earlier this month when they were reportedly spotted together at a restaurant in Hollywood but the Golden Globe winner isn't off the market yet. "They are not dating, they are friendly neighbors, but nothing romantic is going on," a source exclusively tells Us. Pitt's new pal, however, has previously made it known that she's a major fan of his ex Angelina Jolie. "You used to love, you used to love, even the bad, my crazy yeah," the "Little Bit" singer captioned a throwback snap of the Eternals actress, 46, via Instagram in November 2018. The Sweden native's pro-Jolie post wasn't the only time she referenced the actress. "Nu trotsar vi vädret göteborg #sosadsosexy," the performer captioned an August 2018 pic of the Salt star. (The caption translates to "Now we defy the weather, Gothenburg.") Pitt exchanged vows with the Oscar winner in 2014 after 10 years together, but Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016. The pair — who share kids Maddox, 20, Pax, 18, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 13 — were declared legally single in 2019 but have since been locked in a heated custody battle. Amid his divorce, Pitt briefly dated Nicole Poturalski in 2020, but he's still searching for his perfect match. "[He wants to] find that special someone to be with long-term," an insider previously told Us in December 2021. "The trouble is that he hates the process and how he can't even step out for a friendly coffee without it being gossiped about." Before he was linked to the "Sadness is a Blessing" performer, Pitt was rumored to be dating his friend Alia Shawkat in November 2019 — but she's continued to deny a romance was brewing. "It was so weird. Now it's like a weird dream, where I'm like, 'Did that happen?' … [Brad] had no awareness of it at all. Which is so funny. Because he doesn't read that s–t," the Search Party actress, 32, recalled in a New Yorker profile earlier this month. "I was like, 'You know everyone thinks we're dating? And there's this whole thing, and I'm being followed.' And he was like, 'I'm sorry. It happens. If you hang out with me, it happens.' He had no awareness of it at all." More recently, the Fight Club star was linked to Andra Day, who also shot down the claims. "We're not dating. We don't even know each other. It is hilarious. It was thin air. Somebody was bored that day," the "Rise Up" songstress, 37, told Entertainment Tonight in June 2021. "Oh, my gosh, child … we've never met. He's great, though. Super talented. Wonderful." Prince Andrew Demands 'Trial by Jury,' Denies Sexual Assault Allegations Posted: 27 Jan 2022 03:52 PM PST The rebel prince. Prince Andrew has a history of shocking the royal family and the public with his choices — including his decision to marry Sarah Ferguson after dating less than one year. The Duke of York is the second son of Queen Elizabeth II and the late Prince Philip. Unlike his brother, Prince Charles, Andrew has had a little more flexibility with his role in the Monarchy over the years. For example, after reconnecting with his childhood pal Ferguson in the summer of 1985, Andrew proposed to the redhead in February 1986 — before he was technically allowed to pop the question. "Just before midnight Andrew went down on both knees and asked Sarah Ferguson to be his wife. Sarah was caught off-guard and, to cover her confusion, tried to make light of it," royal biographer Ingrid Seward wrote in her 1991 book, Sarah: HRH The Duchess of York, of the proposal. "She told the prince: 'If you wake up tomorrow morning, you can tell me it's all a huge joke." According to Seward, the prince asked for Ferguson's hand in marriage again in the morning, at which time she said yes. The pair had to keep the news a secret, however, because Andrew had proposed without getting permission from the queen. When Her Majesty returned to town from her tour to Australia, Andrew obtained her consent to marry Ferguson and the twosome publicly announced their engagement. The whirlwind romance didn't stop there with the duo tying the knot just five months later. Andrew again made headlines when and Ferguson announced they were separating in 1992. While many royals have since gotten divorced, including Charles and the late Princess Diana, Andrew's split in the early '90s was still somewhat taboo. The exes continued chummy relationship led many fans to think that someday the former couple could again become romantically linked. “Although we are not a couple, we really believe in each other. The Yorks are a united family. We've shown it," Ferguson, who shares Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, with Andrew, told the Daily Mail in November 2018. "You saw it at the wedding. My duty is to him. I am so proud of him. I stand by him and always will. The way we are is our fairytale.” Ferguson continued: “So many people have asked me [if we'll get back together], but we're so happy with the way we are right now. We enjoy each other's company; we allow each other to blossom. I know it sounds like a fairytale but that's the way we are.” The close bond that Andrew and his ex-wife have hasn't wavered over the years, even after the prince made headlines for his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in the fall of 2019 — and was accused of sexual assault. "Eugenie and Beatrice are really upset. They believe their dad made a huge mistake in judgment ever being associated to Jeffrey Epstein," a source exclusively told Us Weekly in December 2019, after Andrew stepped back from his royal duties amid the controversy. "The girls are leaning on each other and are being really supportive of their dad." Ferguson, for her part, wished her ex-husband a happy birthday in February 2020. Three months later, she shared a family photo in honor of International Family Day. "I am so proud of our united loving family," the duchess wrote via Instagram in May 2020. She previously claimed to BBC that she was trafficked by Epstein when she was underage and forced to have sex with his friends, one of which was Andrew. "Prince Andrew committed sexual assault and battery upon Plaintiff when she was 17 years old. As such, Prince Andrew is responsible for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress pursuant to New York common law,” the lawsuit states. “The damage to Plaintiff has been severe and lasting.” Andrew’s Los Angeles attorney Andrew Brettler argued during an August 2021 court hearing that the claims are “baseless, nonviable and potentially unlawful.” The prince must file his responses to the lawsuit’s claims by October 29, 2021. Steve Parsons/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Buckingham Palace released a statement on January 13 regarding the Duke of York's upcoming sexual assault trial, stating that with the queen’s “approval and agreement” his “military affiliations and royal patronages have been returned to the queen.” The statement concluded: “The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and defending this case as a private citizen.” News from the palace came one day after the Associated Press reported that a judge dismissed Andrew’s request to turn over the lawsuit filed by Giuffre in the U.S. His lawyers previously argued that the allegations made against their client lacked credibility, claiming that the case should be thrown out due to a settlement Giuffre reached with the late Epstein in 2009. Drew Barrymore: I Had an ‘Open Relationship’ With Luke Wilson in the ‘90s Posted: 27 Jan 2022 03:45 PM PST ![]() To be young and in love! Drew Barrymore recently reminisced about her past relationships, including a casual romance with Luke Wilson in the ’90s. “When we first met, we were young and wild,” Barrymore, 46, told longtime friend Kate Hudson during the Thursday, January 27, episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actress, 42, recalled meeting the Fever Pitch star at a restaurant called Chez Jay's in Santa Monica, California, while they were all there with Wilson, now 50. ![]() “I was dating him, but I think he was also dating other people," Barrymore remembered, adding that Hudson was filming Alex and Emma with the actor at the time. “It was an open relationship. We were young." The Almost Famous actress laughed, chiming in, "I've been there with a Wilson too!" Barrymore was first linked to the Old School actor after working on the 1997 film Best Men. They later reunited on screen for 1998’s Home Fries, but their offscreen romance soon fizzled out. Hudson, for her part, dated Luke's older brother, Owen Wilson, on and off after they worked together on 2006's You, Me and Dupree. The duo broke up in 2007 but briefly rekindled their romance in 2008 before calling it quits for good. The Never Been Kissed actress looked back fondly at those days, calling it "so fun" to date when you're young because "it's low stakes." She added: “We’re just young, we’re having fun, we’re all playing, acting, hanging out. You’re not taking it all so seriously, and it was fun and we had the best time." Barrymore and Hudson both went on to date more high-profile men following their respective splits from the Wilson brothers. The Wedding Singer star was briefly married to Tom Green from 2001 to 2002 before settling down with Will Kopelman in 2012. The pair split in 2016 after welcoming their daughters Olive and Frankie in 2012 and 2014, respectively. Earlier this month, Barrymore told guest Bobby Berk on her CBS show that she would "never" get married again, noting that she doesn't know how to date with kids. The Bride Wars actress, for her part, was married to Chris Robinson before she romanced Owen, 53. Hudson and Robinson, 55, welcomed son Ryder in 2004 after being married four years. They split in 2006. She later welcomed son Bingham in 2011 with then-fiancé Matthew Bellamy. The duo called it quits in December 2014. Hudson got engaged to longtime friend Danny Fujikawa in September 2021 after five years of dating. The couple share daughter Rani, who was born in October 2018. |
Feud Alert? RHOBH's Erika Jayne Reacts as Garcelle Seemingly Unfollows Her Posted: 27 Jan 2022 02:51 PM PST ![]() Is the drama heating up? As filming continues for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Garcelle Beauvais and Sutton Stracke seemingly made it clear that they aren’t on good terms with Erika Jayne. After a Bravo fan account on Instagram posted that Beauvais, 55, unfollowed Jayne, 52, on the social media platform, the “Pretty Mess” singer replied in the comments section on Thursday, January 27, writing, “Well [let] me unfollow her back.” The Real host, for her part, also acknowledged the social media shakeup when a follower tweeted that she "better eat [Jayne's] ass up." Beauvais replied, "Lol." The Haiti native’s unfollow comes shortly after eagle-eyed fans noticed that Stracke, 50, also stopped keeping up with Jayne on Instagram. The coworkers previously had a tumultuous friendship during season 11 as details emerged about the performer’s legal issues. While the RHOBH stars filmed in November 2020, the “Painkillr” singer filed for divorce from Tom Girardi after 20 years of marriage. One month later, the estranged couple were accused of stealing settlement funds intended for the families of victims killed in a 2018 plane crash. Jayne has continued to claim that she had no knowledge of her estranged husband’s supposed legal misdeeds. Girardi , 82, was later diagnosed with Alzheimer's and was placed under a temporary conservatorship, with his license to practice law also being revoked. His brother, Robert Girardi, was named the effective conservator of Thomas’ person and estate in July 2021. During an August 2021 episode of the Bravo series, Stracke and Jayne found themselves at odds after the socialite voiced concerns about potentially being implicated in her costar’s legal woes. After Jayne was informed about her cast member’s comments, she called her out on screen. “How small town of her. The ‘I don’t want to be associated with you because of what the neighbors may think’ [thing] — to me — is cowardice. ‘I can’t be around you because of my good name.’ It’s like, girl, come on, ‘my reputation’? Like, what are we, in small town Georgia?” Jayne said at the time. Three months later, Stracke revealed during the season 11 reunion that she hired security because of the comments Jayne made on the show, saying, “I don’t know what she’s gonna do. You said you were gonna come after me and my family.” The Broadway performer, who noted that she was "keeping score" about who supported her, clarified that Stracke had no reason to be concerned about her proximity to the case. "There’s nothing here that legally ties you all to me other than being mentioned in articles," Jayne said. "You can’t be fearful of that because you know the truth. If anyone tried to drag any of you in here, you know straight up it’s bulls—t. … There is no reason that any of these women should ever think that I would withhold something from them." |
Rachel Lindsay and Raven Gates: A Timeline of Their Friendship, Falling Out Posted: 27 Jan 2022 02:18 PM PST From friends to foes. Rachel Lindsay and Raven Gates are not the first Bachelor alums to become friends while filming the show, but their subsequent feud has been one of the biggest mysteries in the franchise's history. The attorney and the Grey Suede boutique owner met during Nick Viall's season 21 of The Bachelor, which filmed in late 2016 and aired from January 2017 to March 2017. Lindsay finished in third place, while Gates was the runner-up. (Vanessa Grimaldi got engaged to the leading man, but they called it quits in August 2017.) Although Lindsay and Gates did not find love on the ABC reality show, their tight bond with one another was evident when the Miss Me With That author was named the season 13 Bachelorette. "My day one, my soul friend, my person!! Not only is she making history by being the first African American female to have a bachelor/ette lead BUT she is MORE than that!!" Gates wrote via Instagram in 2017. "To list all of her attributes and qualities that I love would be too long to type. America will soon find out that She IS laughter. She IS friendship. And she IS LOVE. I am ALWAYS in your corner Rach! I love you so much!! Now go show America what they've been missing!!!! & bring home the Love of your Life!!!!!!" Despite their once close relationship, fans noticed that the Bachelor in Paradise alum was not present for Lindsay's August 2019 wedding to Bryan Abasolo, prompting questions about where the former pals stood. The Extra correspondent confirmed in September 2019 that she and Gates had a falling out. The following month, Viall weighed in on the feud while appearing on Lindsay's "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast. "I quite like Raven. This is not about me criticizing Raven because I don't like her; I think she's great. I think she's great in person," the former Bachelor said in October 2019. "I think sometimes the characters she portrays herself to be on the TV show and on Instagram is totally full of s–t and lying and bulls–t, and I think she talks s–t about people all the time, and I think that's totally fine. I don't like when people sometimes pretend to be a certain way." Viall added that Gates "had a bit of a dark side to her" and "could be manipulative and all those things and the whole picture of Raven that was charming." It was me, Astrid, Raven, Danielle, Jasmine. We all got in trouble.” Gates downplayed the situation days later. “Big Rach was not mad at me,” she insisted during an appearance on the podcast. “Big Rach was not mad at Kristina. Big Rach was mad at everybody else. … Someone was invited to the party that wasn’t supposed to be there. … Everyone was drunk. It was just, like, one of those things. Miscommunication.” That same month, the businesswoman posted her final Instagram photo with Lindsay. “Big laughs with Big Rach,” she captioned a pic of the pair laughing on a float in Bermuda. The following month, Gates was a no-show at Lindsay’s wedding to Abasolo. Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() Gates broke her silence on the drama, claiming that she was “just as shocked as everybody else” about her feud with Lindsay. “I wish I had answers, but I don’t and I don’t know if I ever will,” she said on the “Off the Vine” podcast. “I have been really saddened by the whole thing just because I really loved her. I guess I just have to put it to rest and it is what it is.” Gates also alleged that she was not to blame for the falling out. “I’m not going to say anything bad about her because that’s not in my heart or in my spirit,” she continued. “I wish her nothing but the best but I have loved her, I will always love her. … I also want it to be very clear that I have never done her wrong.” Courtesy Raven Gates/Instagram ![]() Gates confirmed in January 2020 that Lindsay was not invited to her wedding to Adam Gottschalk, whom she fell for during season 4 of Bachelor in Paradise in 2017. “She doesn’t like me,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I don’t want people at my wedding that don’t like me. That’s all I know.” The entrepreneur also reiterated at the time that she did not “know exactly” what happened between the two to cause their beef, adding: “I tried to reach out to her to either squash it or figure out what the problem was to fix it. She didn’t want to talk to me.” After the public back and forth, Lindsay was not present when Gottschalk — who was, coincidentally, a contestant on Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette — and Gates tied the knot in April 2021. Courtesy Adam Gottschalk/Instagram ![]() Lindsay touched on her relationship with Gates in her 2022 book, Miss Me With That. She revealed that the duo exchanged notes through producers after the Texas native was sent home on The Bachelor, but the author still refused to share the reason for their feud. “Other than to say I found myself in a situation where I felt the need to protect and remove myself, these are the only details I’m going to provide,” she wrote. Elsewhere in the book, Lindsay claimed that while filming The Bachelor, Gates read aloud from a journal what her first impressions of her fellow contestants were. “’Rachel — she has Black skin.’ What the f--k? Who says that s--t? Not only do you think it, but you actually say it out loud for people to hear? ‘And she seems nice,’” she recalled, noting that she gave Gates the benefit of the doubt because she is from Arkansas. Winter House’s Craig and Paige Enjoy an ‘Awesome’ Broadway Show in NYC Posted: 27 Jan 2022 02:15 PM PST Two Bravolebrities walked into a Winter House? Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover were friends for years before their relationship took a romantic turn. The Southern Charm star and the Summer House personality crossed paths while starring on their respective Bravo shows. "I met Craig, actually, three years ago and he was single. I had a boyfriend and I absolutely respected that I was in a relationship," DeSorbo told Us Weekly in October 2021, referring to ex Perry Rahbar. While they initially struck up a friendship, DeSorbo and Conover spent more time together in 2021 when they filmed Winter House. The Sewing Down South founder was dating Natalie Hegnauer at the time. "When we got to Vermont, I didn't know he had a girlfriend. So, I was a little bummed when I first got there. But, of course, he was absolutely respectful to his girlfriend," DeSorbo told Us. "And I'm so happy now looking back that he had a girlfriend because we built just a very platonic friendship, which is, like, the base of our relationship now. Everything really does happen for a reason." After wrapping the crossover series, Conover and Hegnauer called it quits. He confirmed he was single in May 2021. Things between him and the fashionista were on by the summer, per insiders, and by the fall, the twosome were officially dating. "We actually love long-distance. We're two people that are very independent and have so much going on during the week," DeSorbo told Us in October 2021, noting she's likely to pop up on Southern Charm, which was currently in production on season 8 in South Carolina. "When we get, like, Monday through Friday to get all of our things done and then I hop on a plane Friday morning, it's fun. I feel like we're more present with each other when we are together. We're not on our phones and we plan and do fun things." Conover, for his part, admitted that the twosome were crushing on each other ever since he filmed an episode of Summer House for Kyle Cooke's birthday in 2019. “We are pretty happy now,” he said in October 2021. “I don’t think either of us has ever dated someone else in the industry. We get each other, it’s nice. We really are each other’s biggest fans, which is something that I’ve always looked for.” Scroll through for a complete timeline of their relationship: ![]() The twosome were joined by Cooke, Amanda Batula, Lindsay Hubbard, Luke Gulbranson, Ciara Miller, Austen Kroll, Andrea Denver, Julia McGuire, Gabrielle Kniery and Jason Cameron to film season 1 of Winter House for 17 days in February 2021. PGA TOUR ![]() The duo confirmed their relationship at Batula and Cooke’s September nuptials. “We did get a little drunk at the wedding and threw a Story up there from the photo booth,” DeSorbo told Us one month later. “[But] I’m just waiting [for] the right scenery to happen to snap [an official] pic.” Paige DeSorbo / Instagram ![]() While promoting season 1 of Winter House, DeSorbo gushed about Conover during an exclusive interview with Us. “You’ll just have to see how it kind of plays out toward the end of our vacation. It sounds so cliché, but Craig just gets me,” she said. “There’s a lot of things I don’t have to explain to him because we look at things very similarly. It just fits, like, it just is very natural and it’s a lot of fun.” Paige DeSorbo / Instagram ![]() During an interview with E!'s Daily Pop, DeSorbo shared that the pair celebrated Thanksgiving together with Conover's family in Delaware and her family in New York. When asked about a possible engagement in the future, she quipped, "I mean, we have only been dating for a couple of months. But if I can trick him into a diamond ring, I'm going to do it!" Courtesy of Paige DeSorbo/Instagram ![]() The couple became Instagram official after attending the season 8 Southern Charm wrap party in Charleston. “Sew in love,” DeSorbo captioned the snap, giving her boyfriend’s sewing skills and company, Sewing Down South, a shout-out. Courtesy Paige DeSorbo/Instagram ![]() DeSorbo and Conover’s love story will play out on the season 4 of Summer House, but their romance actually started a few months before filming in the summer of 2021. The New York native explained to Entertainment Tonight that she and Conover first kissed in April 2021 but were just “casually dating” in the months that followed — which viewers will see on the Bravo series.DeSorbo was also keeping things casual with her Winter House flame, Andrea Denver, after the Vermont spinoff filmed in March 2021. She explained in January 2022 that she was single when the Summer House cameras started rolling in July 2021 — but she did find herself in a bit of a love triangle when Conover came to visit the Hamptons house and Denver was staying there too.“Craig was not the reason I stopped hanging out with Andrea,” she told ET. "I was no one's girlfriend, so I was very much in the mentality of, I don't really owe any of these guys any explanation on my decisions because I'm not their girlfriend. So I definitely was playing the field all spring and certainly all summer." Shutterstock (2) ![]() "I can't pinpoint a certain thing that he did or said, it was kind of just realizing how I felt about myself when I was with him," DeSorbo told Entertainment Tonight as to why she started seriously dating Conover. "And it was just kind of undeniable. Little things that I would get excited — if I had a text message from him on my phone — and it didn't even compare to when other guys would text me. So I knew that I was very into him a lot more than any other suitors that were around." She added: "We've had such a great six months already. We've talked about big things, just to see if we're aligned the way we feel about certain things — and we definitely are — but we're not even a year into our relationship. So, have we talked about a marriage and engagement, it's a normal conversation, but there's nothing very serious happening. We're only six months in." Shutterstock (2) |
Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson’s Official Relationship Timeline Posted: 27 Jan 2022 01:38 PM PST An unexpected romance. Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson's relationship may have shocked fans in 2021, but the pair haven't slowed down in 2022. The Keeping Up With the Kardashian alum was first linked to the Saturday Night Live star in October 2021, eight months after she filed for divorce from Kanye West. (The former couple, who wed in 2014, share daughters North and Chicago and sons Saint and Psalm.) While Kardashian and Davidson were friendly over the years — he even called Kimye the "cutest couple" after attending Kid Cudi's birthday dinner with the spouses in 2019 — the KKW Beauty mogul bonded with the Set It Up actor when she hosted SNL. "He was a true professional the whole time they rehearsed and in between takes, but afterward things got flirty," a source told Us Weekly at the time. "They exchanged numbers and Pete asked if Kim would like to hang out sometime, which she agreed to straight away." Following a group Halloween outing, Kardashian and Davidson were spotted on a series of dinner dates. By mid-November 2021, an insider told Us that she was "falling for" him. "Everything flows well [when they're together]," the source said. As the duo heated up, West, meanwhile, made a series of public pleas to try to win Kardashian back. The rapper also alleged that he wasn't served with divorce papers. The Selfish author subsequently filed paperwork to be declared legally single amid divorce proceedings. "Pete is not worried about Kanye trying to get back with Kim," a source told Us in December 2021. "He's very laid-back and understanding. They're super smitten with each other." West, for his part, "absolutely despises Kim dating Pete," the source said. "He is so jealous." The Grammy winner has since been linked to Julia Fox. Scroll through for a timeline of Kardashian and Davidson's relationship: ![]() Kardashian and Davidson kissed in an Aladdin-themed sketch when she hosted SNL on October 9, 2021. YouTube ![]() Less than a month after the reality star’s debut on the sketch comedy show, Kardashian was spotted with Davidson at Knott's Scary Farm in California with Kourtney Kardashian and fiancé Travis Barker and more pals. While sources said their relationship was platonic at the time, the duo were photographed holding hands on a roller-coaster, sparking romance rumors. Shutterstock (2) ![]() Kardashian and Davidson were seen in his native Staten Island in early November, dining at the restaurant Campania. The following day, they dined with friends at Zero Bond in Manhattan. Things proved to be heating up between the twosome when Kardashian helped Davidson celebrate his 28th birthday with her mom, Kris Jenner, and Flavor Flav. “The whole night, I was so honored to be in their presence,” the rapper told Entertainment Tonight about the get-together. One thing that I could say is Pete Davidson loves himself some Flavor Flav. Everything he does is, ‘Flavor Flav this, Flavor Flav that, Flavor Flav this, Flavor Flav that.’ So Kim said, ‘OK, well, for your birthday, you are going to have Flavor Flav.’ She sent for me and that’s how I ended up there. I was the birthday gift.” Courtesy of Flavor Flav/Instagram ![]() The couple continued to make headlines for various outings on the East Coast and West Coast through the remainder of 2021, turning heads when they went to the movies on Staten Island. “They're clearly not hiding their romance,” a source told Us at the time. “It seems like they want to just be able to do things any normal couple would do and have fun together." MediaPunch/Shutterstock ![]() The pair kicked off the new year with a whirlwind trip to the Bahamas. The vacation came days after a source told Us that things were “getting serious” between Kardashian and Davidson. “Things have definitely escalated quickly but in a healthy, fun way,” the source said. “Right now, they are just enjoying their time together and seeing where things go.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() After the duo attended a dinner party at the home of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, an insider told Us that Davidson was considering investing in some West Coast real estate. “Pete’s been spending more time in L.A. to be close to Kim, and he’s looking to find a place there,” the source explained. “They’ve definitely gotten serious.” Shutterstock (2) |
