Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Ups and Downs Through the Years Posted: 19 Jan 2022 09:53 AM PST Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have experienced both highs and lows in their years-long relationship. Kardashian and West met in the early 2000s when he was recording a song with her pal Brandy, a singer who is also the older sister to Ray J — the KKW Beauty mogul's ex. The duo reconnected years later after her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries ended. At the time, Kardashian visited Paris to attend West's fashion show. "Right before I got married to Kris Humphries, [Kanye and I] were talking and I just went a different direction. I think I had to go through that to figure out what I wanted," she explained on the Keeping Up With the Kardashians 10th anniversary special in 2017. "After my breakup, I was feeling really low and down and he said, 'Just come to Paris and see my fashion show.'" The businesswoman added, "He jokes that he put on this whole fashion show just to get a date with me. So, I went there and I stayed with him, and that’s where we started dating. I swear from the moment I landed, I fell madly in love with him and I thought, 'Oh, my God. Why didn't I do this sooner?' Like, this is what real life is like — love and fun and real support." The twosome began dating in the spring of 2012 and Us Weekly confirmed that December that Kardashian was expecting the pair's first child, North. Four months after welcoming North, the "Gold Digger" rapper proposed to Kardashian. The couple wed in Italy in May 2014. As their marriage progressed, the pair encountered issues when trying to grow their family. Though Kardashian gave birth to son Saint in 2015, she would welcome daughter Chicago in 2018 and son Psalm in 2019 via surrogate. "You get your surrogate attorney, you get your surrogate broker and then the broker recommended that we use a therapist that would communicate with me first and then communicate with her and kind of be our liaison," she explained on Laura Wasser's "All's Fair" podcast in February 2020. "Toward the end, we got close enough where we could communicate really without that." The pair continued to encounter and overcome hardships over the years, including Kardashian being held at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room in 2016. West abruptly ended his New York concert and rushed to his wife's side upon hearing of the scary incident. In July 2020, the Grammy winner announced his run for the U.S. presidency. During his campaign rally in South Carolina, he revealed a very personal tidbit about how he and Kardashian considered aborting their daughter North. He then proceeded to go on a Twitter rant, during which he claimed that Kardashian tried to get a "doctor to lock me up" after his behavior at the South Carolina event. After months of split rumors, Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021. She opened up to Allure in October 2017 about the possibility of carrying her third child, saying: “I would like to, but I’ve had lots and lots of complications. I had preeclampsia. And then I also had something called placenta accreta. We’ve explored surrogacy. We’re thinking about it.” Both Chicago and Psalm arrived via surrogate. Shutterstock ![]() Despite interrupting her 2009 VMAs acceptance speech, West and Swift later appeared to be on good terms. The “Lover” singer even presented him with an award at the 2015 VMAs. However, they encountered issues when West made an offensive statement about Swift in his 2016 track “Famous.” After Swift spoke out against the derogatory remark, Kardashian leaked footage of Swift seemingly giving West permission to use the lyric. Swift would go on to address the feud through songs on her Reputation album in 2017. Cut to June 2019, Swift called out Kardashian in a Tumblr post for having “orchestrated an illegally recorded snippet of a phone call to be leaked.” In the year that followed, full footage from the frenemies’ call was leaked and Swift claimed in her Instagram Stories that she “was telling the truth the whole time.” Meanwhile, Kardashian tweeted in her husband’s defense and alleged that Swift was “actually lying.” Shutterstock (3) ![]() Kardashian flew to France in October 2016 to attend Paris Fashion Week. She was alone in her hotel room one evening when she was robbed at gunpoint by men disguised as police officers. They tied her up and put her in the bathroom before leaving the scene. Upon hearing the news, West abruptly left his set at the Meadows Music & Arts Festival in New York. West told fans at the time, “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Family emergency, I have to stop the show.” Kardashian would later recall the scary experience in a March 2017 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. “I saw two guys holding another guy down in police uniforms, right outside of my bedroom, five feet away,” she explained. “So I slid off my bed and picked up my phone, and I’m like, ‘I don’t know how to call 911 in a different country.’ So I called [my bodyguard] Pascal [Duvier] and then the guy came in, grabbed the phone from me, and threw me on the bed. I was like, ‘This is it.’” Shutterstock (2) ![]() West was hospitalized for extreme exhaustion in November 2016 at the UCLA Medical Center. Just before his hospitalization, West ranted about Jay Z and Beyoncé at a concert in Sacramento, California. He also canceled the remaining dates on his Saint Pablo Tour. A source told Us that his workload, Kardashian’s Paris robbery and the anniversary of his late mother’s death contributed to his breakdown. “He’s been shaken up ever since the robbery in Paris,” the insider said. “It did a number on him as much as Kim. The mere thought that anything could happen to her sent him in a tailspin. He wasn’t sleeping, and he was having nightmares about it.” Shutterstock ![]() West made headlines for his controversial support of President Donald Trump. In April 2018, the rapper even referred to Trump as his “brother” and said that they share “dragon energy.” Though Kardashian claimed that she would not vote for Trump in the 2016 presidential election, she ultimately visited the White House to work alongside the former reality TV star to improve prison reform. Shutterstock ![]() West said on his 2018 album, Ye, that he suffers from bipolar disorder. He later opened up about his mental health struggles on David Letterman’s Netflix show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. “I wouldn’t be able to explain that as much just because, you know, I'm not a doctor,” he said in May 2019. “I can just tell you what I’m feeling at the time, and I feel a heightened connection with the universe when I’m ramping up. It is a health issue.” West added, “This — it’s like a sprained brain, like having a sprained ankle. And if someone has a sprained ankle, you’re not going to push on him more. With us, once our brain gets to a point of spraining, people do everything to make it worse.” Stephen Lovekin/WWD/Shutterstock ![]() The “Stronger” rapper purchased a ranch in Wyoming in November 2019. West congratulated her via Twitter by noting how “proud” he was of her becoming a billionaire. Later that month, he made headlines for a series of outrageous statements he made during a campaign rally in South Carolina. At the political event, he claimed that Harriet Tubman “never actually freed the slaves” and “just had the slaves go work for other white people.” He also stated that he “almost killed” daughter North via abortion. A source told Us that Kardashian was “deeply upset with Kanye for talking about their personal life and for making matters that are very personal to them and their family public.” MEGA ![]() After his South Carolina rally, West took to Twitter to post several rambling tweets. In one post, he claimed that Kardashian tried to get a doctor to “lock” him up after the comments he made at the political event. “She’s tried so hard to help him, but now Kim and her family feel as though he’s really crossed a line by talking negatively about them publicly and sharing private family matters with the public,” a source told Us. “She feels helpless at this point.” Shutterstock (2) ![]() After West made more claims about Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, via Twitter in July 2020, the KKW Beauty CEO released a statement about the musician’s struggles with bipolar disorder. “I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health,” she began via Instagram Stories. “Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor. People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgmental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.” Kardashian went on to call West “brilliant but complicated,” noting he is under a lot of pressure. She added: “Living with bipolar disorder does not diminish or invalidate his dreams and creative ideas, no matter how big or unobtainable they may feel to some. That is part of his genius and as we have all witnessed, many of his big dreams have come true.” After asking for “compassion and empathy,” the reality TV star signed her message, “Kim Kardashian West.” Gregory Pace/Shutterstock ![]() After jetting off to the Dominican Republic together in August 2020, a source told Us that the pair are back on track. “Their vacation definitely helped put things at ease for the time being, but the issues they were dealing with go deeper than that and unfortunately won’t just be solved with a trip,” one source said. “Their marriage definitely faced some hardships and was just hanging on with Kanye not being able to fully be present for their family, but ultimately Kim wants to keep everyone together and work things out for their kids.” According to a second insider, Kardashian and West “agreed” to stop talking about politics while they work on their marriage. MEGA ![]() During a June 2021 episode of KUWTK, Kardashian shed some light on the state of her relationship with West after sister Khloé Kardashian noticed her "struggling privately behind [the] camera." After previously getting cagey about her marriage throughout the season, Kim broke her silence. "I just honestly can't do this anymore," she said. "Why am I still in this place where I'm stuck for years? Like, he goes and moves to a different state every year. I have to be, like, together so I can raise the kids. He's an amazing dad, he's done an amazing job. I just think he deserves someone who will support his every move and go follow him all over the place and move to Wyoming. I can't do that. ... I feel like a f–king failure. It's my third f–king marriage. Yeah, I feel like a f–king loser. But I can't even think about that. I want to be happy." E! ![]() In July 2021, the estranged couple reunited with their kids in San Francisco for a private art showing at the Asian Art Museum. “They came in as a normal family who was there to have fun,” a source exclusively told Us at the time. “They had a really great time with the kids and everyone looked really happy and in a good mood. "As long as he was true to himself, that taught me so much in the best way [about] just being me and living in the moment," she said on the "We Are Supported By" podcast in August 2021. "You don't have to please everyone. As long as I'm myself and as long as I'm doing it the way that I want to, like, you have one life and you're living it for you. Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() When Kardashian made her Saturday Night Live hosting debut in October 2021, she used her monologue to get in a couple of jabs at her ex. "I married the best rapper of all time," she said. "Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America: a talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids. So when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality.” She later poked fun at West's 2020 presidential bid in a joke that also targeted Caitlyn Jenner's gubernatorial run. “Now I know we’re divided as a country, but I’d love America to come together, which is I’m here to announce that I’m running for ... I’m just kidding, guys," she quipped. "I’m not running for president. We can’t have three failed politicians in one family.” Rosalind O'Connor/NBC ![]() In October 2021, Kardashian paid West $23 million for his share of the Hidden Hills, California, home they purchased shortly after their wedding. “She has made her life there and it’s her kids’ main home,” an insider previously told Us of the house. “There was never a question — Kim was going to keep the home.” Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() Amid rumors that the Selfish author had moved on with Pete Davidson, West said that he wanted to get back together with Kardashian. “SNL making my wife say ‘I divorced him’ on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off and I never have seen the papers. I’m taking control of my narrative this year.” He added: “I’m being the best father — the Ye version of a father — and I’m not finna let this happen. ... Chicago, happy birthday. Jana Kramer Initially Thought New BF Ian Schinelli Had a 'Small Penis' Posted: 19 Jan 2022 09:51 AM PST ![]() Pleasantly surprised? Though Jana Kramer's romance with Ian Schinelli has grown stronger since the duo took their relationship public earlier this month, she was initially wary if her new man was too good to be true. "He has a nice body," the "I Got the Boy" songstress, 38, commented about the former Navy SEAL, 36, during a Monday, January 17, episode of her "Whine Down" podcast. "A lot of people call him Captain America, like, his friends." Kramer, who debuted their romance via Instagram on January 11, went on to gush over his physique and personality. "In the very beginning when I met him, I was like, 'OK, he’s handsome. He’s got a body to die for. He's a freaking Navy SEAL. He’s charming. He’s nice. He’s kind. He’s got a daughter. He’s a dad,'” she told her podcast cohosts. “And I’m like, ‘I bet you he has a small penis.’ That’s it. Something has to be wrong with him." The One Tree Hill alum was seemingly mistaken, noting, "I will say that it’s very nice." Kramer and the businessman — he currently works in private equity — initially connected during a party late last year. “I go to the party and I see this guy in an orange shirt and I was like, ‘Oh man, he is cute, but obviously, he’s probably married.’ I don’t really pay much attention to it,” the Soccer Mom Madam star explained of attending the October 2021 event. “But long story short, Andrew [East, who's married to Olympian Shawn Johnson] came over to me and was like, ‘Hey, there’s a guy here I want you to meet.'" She continued: "I’m like, ‘We’re at a 2-year-old kid’s party, like what are you doing? Like, please don’t try and set me up right now.’ And he’s like, ‘No seriously, he’s a really good dude, he's the guy in the orange shirt.’ And I was like, ‘Shut up, I’ve been staring at him this entire time.’ And then we ended up meeting and that’s how we met. The rest is history." Schinelli, for his part, is a good friend of the "Couple Things" podcast cohost, 30, and the two men often workout together. The Holiday Fix Up actress first confirmed her budding romance with the single dad — he has a daughter from a previous relationship — on January 11 after the pair fueled dating speculation. "Sometimes you just have to stop fighting it and listen to your heart," the Lifetime actress wrote via Instagram at the time. "I don't know what the future holds and honestly who does … Everyday [sic] I continue to heal and I know there is still lots of work to do, but damn it feels really nice to find happiness along the way. To find someone who doesn't look at your scars as a challenge or problem but rather helps you hold them and stands there to encourage you with love, strength and empathy along the way." The pair's romance has continued to develop after they first connected that October evening. "We just have a lot of fun together, and he pushes me to just stretch my limits on things,” Kramer added of her beau, calling him a "normal dude" during Monday’s episode. "It just feels really nice. … I was scared to post [their romance] because I don’t want to be embarrassed. I don’t want the same history to repeat itself. From what I see, he’s an honest man." The Michigan native's new romance comes less than a year after her divorce from Mike Caussin was finalized. The exes — who share daughter Jolie, 5, and son Jace, 3 — first announced their split in April 2021. Their divorce was finalized that July. |
Stars Who Played Matchmaker for Their Friends: Taylor Swift, Nicole Richie Posted: 19 Jan 2022 09:46 AM PST Playing Cupid! Over the years, many stars have revealed that they helped sparks fly between their mutual friends. Hailee Steinfeld, for her part, explained the advice that she gave pal Sophie Turner, who was interested in getting to know Joe Jonas more. “I will say, I did get that text from Sophie being like, ‘So tell me about Joe,’ and I was like, ‘Go for it,'” the singer said during a radio interview with Nova 96.9 in 2018. One year later, Steinfeld set the record straight about how much of an impact she actually had on her friends’ growing romance. “I definitely got the, ‘So tell me about Joe Jonas’ call,” the Dickinson star said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in October 2019. “Sophie and I have been friends for years, she’s one of my favorite humans. And Joe, same. Joe and I worked together a couple years ago, and he is also a wonderful person, and it worked! So yeah, I’ll take credit for that, sure!” The Game of Thrones actress and the musician sparked romance rumors in 2016 before going public with their relationship at HBO's Golden Globes afterparty the following year. Two years later, the pair secretly married after attending the 2019 Billboard Music Awards and followed that up with a second wedding in Sarrians, France, that same year. "They are madly in love. She's young but mature and comes from a small English town, so it's not that unusual," a source exclusively told Us Weekly after they got engaged. "They are really good together and his friends and family love her and vice versa." Turner and Jonas welcomed their daughter, Willa Jonas, in 2020 after choosing to keep most of the pregnancy private. Four months after Willa’s arrival, a source told Us that the duo were looking forward to having more children. “They are really excited to expand their family,” the insider shared in December 2020. “Having the baby has made them really close and want to have a large family together." Jesse Tyler Ferguson was another celebrity who proudly took credit for his successful love connection between Modern Family costar Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello. "I've never talked about it, I was waiting for them to say it and then they finally sort of mentioned that I was the one who put them together, so now I will admit that I helped with that," Ferguson admitted on The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2015. Ferguson explained that Vergara and Manganiello met when the actress was still engaged to Nick Loeb, but it didn’t take long after her breakup for the How I Met Your Mother alum to make a move. “When she broke up with her fiancé at the time, Joe – like immediately, the moment it was out in the world – called me and was like, 'I need her number,'" the Montana native shared at the time. "And then I called Sofia and I was, like, 'Can I give Joe your number?' And she was, like, 'Ay, no!’ but, like, wanting me to give the number. So I did the number exchange and he took over from there!" Vergara and Manganiello started dating in July 2014 and were engaged by the end of the year. The couple tied the knot in November 2015 at The Breakers Palm Beach resort in Palm Beach, Florida. Two years later, the Magic Mike actor opened up about how he knew his relationship with the Hot Pursuit actress was meant to be. "We realized very early on that we each had to put the other person’s happiness and well-being ahead of our own," he explained to Hola! USA magazine in 2017. "Once you realize that kind of trust has manifested, you hang on for dear life. Or in my case, you go and buy a ring." Vergara, for her part, also reflected on how their relationship seems to work so well. "He is so funny and ever since we met, that has been really important," she noted at the time. "We even talk to each other all the time in this little voice that we made up, like a couple of dorks. Whoever heard us, would say, 'What's their problem?'" The Parks and Recreation actor, who split from ex-wife Anna Faris the previous year after eight years of marriage, announced that he and Schwarzenegger were engaged in January 2019. Six months later, the couple tied the knot in a ceremony in Montecito, California. The duo announced their daughter Lyla's birth in August 2020. "Brandon Jennings, who is a basketball player and a friend of mine and Malika [Haqq]'s, was like, 'You're such a good girl, I want to introduce you to someone.' I was at the Bel-Air hotel, and [Tristan] came to the dinner. I didn't want to go on a blind date, so Brandon kind of ambushed the blind date. We just connected." During the coronavirus pandemic, Us broke the news that Kardashian and Thompson were back together after isolating together with their little one in August 2020. Less than a year later, the duo decided to go their separate ways for good. "They broke up a few weeks ago," a source detailed to Us in June 2021. Pete Davidson Calls Himself a 'Diamond in the Trash' Amid Kim K. Romance Posted: 19 Jan 2022 09:30 AM PST ![]() Understanding his own appeal. Pete Davidson made a joke about his success with women during a recent comedy show — and he has a theory about why he’s so popular. “There seems to be a curiosity about me, is what my friends tell me,” the Saturday Night Live star, 28, said during his stand-up set at the 9th Annual Patrice O’Neal Comedy Benefit Concert at New York City Center in NYC on Tuesday, January 18. “I was trying to figure out how to explain myself to someone because I was doing an interview.” The King of Staten Island actor went on to explain that he decided to compare himself to the discount DVD bin you might see at 7-Eleven, citing movies including Predator 2, Shrek Forever After and Tropic Thunder as examples of the films that end up there. The New York City native joked that Tropic Thunder was a “classic” that “doesn’t belong in the trash” — and said that description applies to him as well. “I’m Tropic Thunder. I’m the diamond in the trash,” he quipped. “It’s a steal.” Davidson’s appearance at the event — a night of stand-up comedy to honor the memory of comedian O’Neal, who died in 2011 at age 41 — marked his first stand-up appearance in three years. During the show, the Meet Cute star also joked about his New Year’s Eve special with Miley Cyrus, claiming that a producer told him he needed to get a spray tan so he wouldn’t look “so bad on camera.” The Guy Code alum was first linked to Kim Kardashian in October 2021 when they were spotted during a theme park outing with Kourtney Kardashian and her fiancé, Travis Barker. Less than three weeks later, the reality star, 41, and the comedian confirmed their romance when they were photographed holding hands in Palm Springs, California. Earlier this month, the duo jetted off to the Bahamas for a sun-soaked Caribbean getaway. "Kim and Pete wanted to spend this time together because they're both going to be working a lot during the coming months," an insider exclusively told Us Weekly of the trip. "This is the last time they'll be able to spend a lot of quality time together for a few months." As their romance heated up last fall, the Skims founder’s estranged husband, Kanye West, said he wanted another shot at their marriage. The KKW Beauty mogul filed for divorce from the rapper, 44, in February 2021 after seven years of marriage. The Grammy winner has since moved on with Julia Fox, but a recently leaked clip of an upcoming song included a dig at Davidson. Titled “My Life Was Never Easy,” the track featured the line, "God saved me from the crash just so I can beat Pete Davidson's ass.” According to a source, however, the drama hasn’t stopped Kim and her beau from enjoying their time together. "It's not impacting their relationship at all," an insider recently told Us. "If anything, this drama is bringing Kim and Pete closer together because he makes things so easy." Inside Amazing Race’s Will Jardell and James Wallington's Romantic Honeymoon Posted: 19 Jan 2022 09:15 AM PST A tropical getaway! After tying the knot late last year, Will Jardell and James Wallington continued celebrating their love with a special trip to Ecuador for their honeymoon. “The most exciting part about our honeymoon was right as we boarded the dingy to be transported to the cruise ship, we saw a sea lion blue-footed booby, and tons of Galapagos iguanas — and we hadn't even started the actual cruise yet,” Jardell, 31, exclusively told Us Weekly of the romantic getaway. “It made for an exciting seven days as we were able to see so many incredible landscapes and wildlife through the islands.” Wallington, 32, went on to gush about how the Hurtigruten Expeditions cruise allowed the couple to experience the most beautiful parts of the country. “The most exciting part of our honeymoon for me was kickstarting married life together by doing what we love, which is traveling,” he told Us about the adventurous trip. “Over the course of 10 days, we visited Mashpi, a rainforest hotel in the clouds, Ecuador's capital city of Quito, Cotopaxi National Park in the Andean Highlands and flew 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador to the beautiful islands of the Galapagos on our cruise.” The New York native added: “Everything we've been able to do has been spectacular and has felt very much like our time on The Amazing Race because of how active and on-the-go we've been.” The couple met in 2014 during auditions for America’s Next Top Model. Four years later, Wallington and Jardell competed on season 32 of The Amazing Race, coming in first place and winning $1 million. After having to postpone their nuptials several times due to the coronavirus pandemic, the pair got married in December 2021 in New Orleans. Following the major milestone in their relationship, the reality TV couple opened up about getting to enjoy their time as newlyweds. “This trip was the perfect bookend to a fabulous wedding journey,” the Texas native told Us. “We're still on such a high from our wedding and we were able to disconnect and spend quality time together as a married couple.” Wallington, for his part, revealed that the “hardest part” of married life so far has been “introducing Will as my ‘husband’ to people” because the twosome were in the fiancé stage for “so long” leading up to their wedding. Scroll down for a special look at Jardell and Wallington’s romantic honeymoon: ![]() For Jardell, the highlight of their trip was a two-day hike at Mashpi Lodge. "If you don’t have a flashlight, you can't even see six inches in front of your face, which can be terrifying in a forest," he explained. "While we walked around, we were able to see spiders that had bioluminescent properties, glass frogs, huge bugs and even more unique spiders. It was so cool to see everything at night. I've also never been to or seen a volcano in person." Courtesy of Hurtigruten Expeditions ![]() Since competing on their season of The Amazing Race, which aired in 2020, Wallington revealed that his fear of heights has improved — just in time for a one-of-a-kind excursion. "When we were at Mashpi Lodge, we did 'The Dragonfly,' which is an open-air cable car that takes you over and sometimes through the rainforest canopy. The highest point was roughly 200 meters," he detailed to Us. "I was definitely nervous but the view was absolutely worth it!" Courtesy of Hurtigruten Expeditions ![]() Ahead of their honeymoon, the duo became the first LGBTQ+ couple to get engaged on the CBS series. Courtesy of Hurtigruten Expeditions ![]() "The most exciting part was being in the midst of the diverse wildlife. I kept saying to Will, 'We’re no longer watching Planet Earth from the couch, we’re actually living it!'" Wallington recalled to Us. "Then at the Mashpi Lodge, they have a hummingbird garden that left me enchanted as if I were in a fairy tale. The hummingbirds were so gentle — they would land on me to eat from the palm of my hand!" Will Jardell and James Wallington ![]() Shortly after their wedding ceremony, Jardell and Wallington started thinking about their plans to start a family. "We’ve talked about adopting kids ever since we first met and we’re even more so looking forward to the process because of how positive the experience was of reconnecting with James' birth mom in 2017," they shared with Us in December 2021. Courtesy of Hurtigruten Expeditions ![]() As longtime fans of The Amazing Race, Jardell reflected on what his on-air engagement meant to him and his now-husband. “Watching reality TV was our first exposure to LGBTQ people in the real setting that weren’t actors or weren’t portraying some story in a movie or a television show,” he previously told Us in January 2021 after the season 23 finale. “That became our outlet as young people to see real people living out their truth. So for us be able to run the race as a gay couple — for the show to never mention that we’re gay, to just refer to us as a dating couple — was huge. And then to end the season with us winning and then also getting engaged was massive for the show to showcase that.” Courtesy of Hurtigruten Expeditions |
Britney Spears' Ups and Downs With Sister Jamie Lynn Through the Years Posted: 19 Jan 2022 09:02 AM PST A dramatic relationship. Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn Spears have had a bumpy ride through the years — and haven’t always kept that drama under wraps. In June 2021, the pop star spoke out in court for the first time since being put under a conservatorship in 2008. During the explosive hearing, she explained why she should be able to choose her own attorney, adding that she wanted to take legal action against her family. “I just want my life back. It's been 13 years, and it's enough. It's been a long time since I've owned my money,” the “Lucky” singer said at the time. “I would honestly like to sue my family, to be totally honest with you. I also would like to be able to share my story with the world, and what they did to me, instead of it being a hush-hush secret to benefit all of them.” Following the case, the Sweet Magnolias star responded to fans via Instagram who claimed she wasn’t publicly supporting the #FreeBritney movement because she hadn’t posted on social media. "Maybe I didn't support her the way the public would like me to with a hashtag on a public platform, but I can assure you I've supported my sister long before there was a hashtag. And I'll support her long after. Note that,” the actress shared. “I'm so proud of her for using her voice. I'm so proud of her for requesting new counsel like I told her to do many years ago. If ending the conservatorship or flying to Mars or whatever else she wants to do [will make her happy] — I support that, 100 percent. Because I support my sister. I love my sister. Always have, always will. As long as she's happy. Let's keep praying. That's all.” In July, the Grammy winner was granted the right to choose her own legal representative, appointing former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart in charge. At the time, she also accused her father, Jamie Spears, of “conservatorship abuse,” adding, "If this isn't abuse, I don't know what is. … I thought they were trying to kill me." Amid the hearings, Britney and her sister both shared their thoughts via social media. Scroll through the gallery below for a full timeline of the sisters’ drama: ![]() Following a report that claimed that Jamie Lynn is the only member of the Spears family not on Britney's payroll, the Zoey 101 alum responded via her Instagram Story. "Facts….now leave my broke-ass alone,” she wrote on July 6. Shutterstock (2) ![]() On July 16, Britney shared a quote via her Instagram that read, “Never forget who ignored you when you needed them and who helped you before you even had to ask.” In a lengthy caption, she explained what she is going through. "There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support … there’s nothing worse than that," the Crossroads star wrote. "How dare the people you love the most say anything at all. ... If you’re reading this and you know who you are … and you actually have the nerve to say anything about my situation just to save face for yourself publicly !!! If you’re gonna post something …. Please stop with the righteous approach when you’re so far from righteous it’s not even funny." Mediapunch/Shutterstock ![]() The "Toxic" singer shared a second quote the following day that read, “Take me as I am or kiss my ass, eat s–t and step on LEGOs.” After slamming those who make fun of her dancing videos, Britney called out both her father and sister. "I'm not gonna be performing on any stages anytime soon with my dad handling what I wear, say, do, or think I've done that for the past 13 years," she wrote. "I don't like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes!!!!! My so-called support system hurt me deeply." Shutterstock (2) ![]() Jamie Lynn returned to Instagram on July 18, sharing a selfie of herself in the mirror. "May the peace of the Lord be with you, and your spirit," her caption read at first. "May the Lord wrap your mean ass up in joy today," she wrote, seemingly mocking her sister's original caption. "New dance … if you don’t like it ... don’t watch it!!!!!" MEGA ![]() Britney only follows 46 Instagram accounts. While Paris Hilton, Paul McCartney and Beyonce made the cut — Jamie Lynn was notably absent. However, the younger sister still follows the pop star. Shutterstock (2) ![]() Jamie Lynn opened up about her relationship with her older sister during a January 2022 interview with Good Morning America — and Britney was quick to turn the tables. Though the Netflix star claimed that she attempted to provide resources for her older sister to put an end to her conservatorship, Britney argued via Twitter that Jamie Lynn was "never around me much 15 years ago at that time." As the family drama made headlines, Jamie Lynn defended herself in a lengthy social media statement. "I can't help that I was born a Spears too, and that some of my experiences involve my sister. I've worked hard since before I was even a teenager, and I've built my career in spite of just being someone's little sister," she wrote. "There are no sides, and I don't want drama. But I'm speaking my truth to heal my traumas, so I can close this chapter and move forward, and I wish my sister could do the same." She concluded: "No matter what comes, I will always love my big sister and be here for her. It's time to put an end to the unhealthy chaos that has controlled my life for so long." Shutterstock (2) ![]() Jamie Lynn responded to Britney in her Instagram story after the "Bombastic Love" singer walked back a few comments but still maintained that Jamie Lynn was lying. “Britney — Just call me, I have attempted many times to speak to you directly and handle this privately like sisters should, but you still choose to do everything on a public platform,” the former Nickelodeon star shared via her Instagram Story in January 2022. Jamie Lynn continued, writing, “In the meantime, please stop continuing the narrative that I haven’t been there for you or that I’m making things up. I’m happy to share how many times I’ve reached out to you, supported you and tried to help you. This is embarrassing and has to stop. Love you.” Courtesy of Jamie Lynn Spears/Instagram ![]() After Britney implied that her sister was "scum," the Grammy winner walked back some of her jabs. "I said some harsh things because you obviously hurt me by the things you are making up about me,” she wrote via Twitter in January 2022. “All I know is I love you unconditionally!!! So go ahead and say whatever you want … it’s so tacky for a family to fight publicly like this!!! You say you love me … yet your loyalty is still with the people that hurt me most!!!” the engaged singer added. Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock ![]() Following the release of Jamie Lynn's memoir and her appearance on "Call Her Daddy" in January 2022, Britney's lawyer issued a strongly worded cease and desist to the actress, asserting that Britney will "no longer be bullied" by her family. "Although Britney has not read and does not intend to read your book, she and millions of her fans were shocked to see how you have exploited her for monetary gain. She will not tolerate it, nor should she," the letter read. Britney's attorney went on to threaten legal action, writing, "Michelle Obama famously said, 'when they go low, we go high,' and to Britney's great credit, that is exactly what Britney is going to do, for the time being. You recently reportedly stated that the book was 'not about her.' She takes you at your word and we, therefore, demand that you cease and desist from referencing Britney derogatorily during your promotional campaign. If you fail to do so or defame her, Britney will be forced to consider and take all appropriate legal action." Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock; Jim Smeal/Shutterstock |
Britney Spears Tells Jamie Lynn She Won't Be 'Exploited' in Cease and Desist Posted: 19 Jan 2022 08:56 AM PST ![]() Shutting it down. Britney Spears blasted her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, in a strongly worded cease and desist letter after the pair’s recent back and forth on social media. The 40-year-old pop star took aim at the 30-year-old Zoey 101 alum’s memoir, Things I Should Have Said, and recent sit-down interviews in the letter, which was sent through her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, asserting that she will “no longer be bullied” for her family’s benefit. “Dear Ms. Spears: As you know, I represent your sister Britney Spears, and I write at her request concerning the above-referenced matter. We write with some hesitation because the last thing Britney wants is to bring more attention to your ill-timed book and its misleading or outrageous claims about her,” the letter reads. “Although Britney has not read and does not intend to read your book, she and millions of her fans were shocked to see how you have exploited her for monetary gain. She will not tolerate it, nor should she.” The lengthy statement goes on to describe the “abuse and wrongdoing” that Britney experienced throughout her 13-year conservatorship, from which she was freed in November 2021. The singer’s father, Jamie Spears, was largely in control of her finances during the conservatorship, with Jodi Montgomery stepping in as the conservator of Britney’s person in 2019. Addressing Jamie Lynn, the letter continues: “You of all people know the abuse and wrongdoing Britney had to endure during the conservatorship, after initially growing up with a ‘ruinous,’ alcoholic father. In fact, your own book reportedly states that your father ‘spent most of my life in that cycle of ruinous behavior. His bouts of drinking caused me periods of torment and sorrow.’ As I have previously stated, having endured a 13-year conservatorship that stripped her of civil rights and fundamental liberties, Britney will no longer be bullied by her father or anyone else.” Earlier this month, the former Nickelodeon star opened up about her tense relationship with her older sister, telling Good Morning America that she has “only ever loved and supported [Britney] and done what’s right by her.” During the January 12 sit-down, Jamie Lynn went on to claim that she had offered resources to the “Toxic” songstress in order to help end her conservatorship. Following the emotional tell-all, Britney shared her side of the story in a lengthy Twitter thread, alleging that Jamie Lynn “wants to sell a book at my expense” and “never had to work for anything.” The “I Got the Boy” songwriter, however, denied in a statement of her own that Britney’s struggles were the focus of her memoir. Things I Should Have Said hit shelves on Tuesday, January 18, the same day Jamie Lynn shared more details of her family’s ups and downs on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. The interview was initially slated to drop in two parts, but the Wednesday, January 19, episode has yet to be released. The Grammy winner’s cease and desist letter criticizes the Sweet Magnolias actress for “airing false or fantastical grievances” about Britney, who was the Spears family’s “breadwinner” for several years. “Michelle Obama famously said, ‘when they go low, we go high,’ and to Britney’s great credit, that is exactly what Britney is going to do, for the time being,” Rosengart’s letter concludes. “You recently reportedly stated that the book was ‘not about her.’ She takes you at your word and we, therefore, demand that you cease and desist from referencing Britney derogatorily during your promotional campaign. If you fail to do so or defame her, Britney will be forced to consider and take all appropriate legal action.” As the drama between the sisters continues to make headlines, Jamie Lynn urged the “Circus” singer to communicate with her privately and put an end to their “embarrassing” feud. She previously called herself one of her sister’s biggest supporters after fans accused her of staying silent amid Britney’s fight to gain back her freedom. “I’m so proud of her for using her voice. I’m so proud of her for requesting new counsel like I told her to do many years ago,” Jamie Lynn wrote via Instagram after the Glee alum’s June 2021 court hearing. “If ending the conservatorship or flying to Mars or whatever else she wants to do [will make her happy] — I support that, 100 percent. Because I support my sister. I love my sister. Always have, always will. As long as she’s happy. Let’s keep praying. That’s all.” |
'Moon Knight' Star Gaspard Ulliel Dead at 37 After Ski Accident Posted: 19 Jan 2022 08:52 AM PST ![]() A tragic accident. French actor Gaspard Ulliel died on Wednesday, January 19, following a ski accident, according to news agency AFP. He was 37. Ulliel was skiing in the French Alps when he collided with another person on the slopes and suffered a brain injury. The actor, who stars in Marvel’s upcoming series Moon Knight, was then air-lifted to a hospital in Grenoble, France. Local authorities are looking into the accident, per AFP. Ulliel is survived by his girlfriend, Gaelle Petri, and their son Orso, 6. The Saint Laurent star was an acclaimed actor in his native country, earning three Cesar nominations over the course of his career. Ulliel won Most Promising Actor in 2004 for his work in A Very Long Engagement and took home the Best Actor award in 2016 for his performance in It’s Only the End of the World. In the United States, Ulliel was best known for 2007’s Hannibal Rising, in which he played a young Hannibal Lecter, and for playing designer Yves Saint Laurent in 2014. The Chanel model also stars in Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series, Moon Knight, opposite Oscar Isaac. Ulliel plays art thief Anton Mogart, who turns into antagonist Midnight Man after a fight with the titular hero. Though details about his character have been kept under wraps ahead of the series’ release, it’s likely that Isaac, 42, played a role in casting Ulliel as a producer. “Well, I heard about it from Oscar Isaac, who lives like, you know, three blocks down the street from me in Brooklyn,” Ethan Hawke, who is rumored to play Moon Knight’s main villain, revealed during an August appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. “I was at a coffee shop. He came up to me, he's like, … 'Hey, want to be in the Moon Knight with me?' I was like, yeah. So, it happened the right way, you know?” In addition to casting, Isaac had a large role in developing the show and his character alongside Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. “Speaking with Kevin, I told him, 'I'm going to come in with these big ideas, and if you don't like them, that's fair.' And immediately, we saw it all," the Scenes From a Marriage star told Variety while discussing the series in October 2021. “I found so much room to do things that I've never done before and had been curious about and wanting to do,” Isaac continued. “I could not wait to get to set, and it was the biggest workload I've ever had in my career and most challenging; by the sheer amount of stuff we had to do in eight months, and even yet, I couldn't wait to get to set and work.” Story is still developing. |
Tom Schwartz Felt 'Blindsided' by Lala Kent, Randall Emmett's 'Abrupt' Split Posted: 19 Jan 2022 08:17 AM PST Adding in their two cents. The cast of Vanderpump Rules has a few thoughts about costar Lala Kent and Randall Emmett's rumored split — including the timing of it all. Ariana Madix spoke about her castmate during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Tuesday, October 26, noting that Kent's been "up and down" amid the alleged breakup. "I don't want to speak for her too much," the 36-year-old star said at the time, noting it's been a "crazy" time for the "Give Them Lala … With Randall" podcast cohost. James Kennedy, on the other hand, questioned the timing of the rumored split one week prior. "It's perfect timing, isn't it? Tonight's more about me and Raquel [Leviss] and all we are talking about so far is Lala," the 29-year-old reality star said during an appearance on WWHL on October 19, referring to his engagement to Leviss airing on that week's episode of the Bravo show. "I'm just, like, it's perfect. She's got a book signing tomorrow in L.A., right?" The DJ explained that although he couldn't give any real insight into whether Kent and Emmett, 50, are over for good, he said that the Utah native did recently leave him and Leviss, 27, in an awkward situation regarding the film producer. "We have a pickleball tournament with Randall in La Quinta, [California]. She canceled that," Kennedy said. "Well, her participation is canceled, but now what do I do? Do I go play pickleball with Randall? I've got myself in a pickle here." Earlier this month, Kent sparked split speculation when she erased all traces of her fiancé from her social media pages on October 17. The Give Them Lala author also posted a clip of two men walking through the Beverly Hills Hotel with suitcases as they pushed her daughter, Ocean, whom she shares with Emmett. The Instagram Story clip featured Beyoncé's song "Sorry" playing in the background. The same day, Kent hinted that the Florida native may have cheated on her when she "liked" a meme on Instagram about Emmett's alleged actions. "Rumors are swirling that Randall might have had some extracurriculars with a couple of cocktail waitresses," the meme caption read alongside a side-by-side photo of Emmett with Lisa Rinna holding a gun. Kent, who got engaged to the Midnight in the Switchgrass producer in 2018, was then spotted without her engagement ring while out in Los Angeles on October 19. The duo, however, have yet to publicly address the rumors. In November 2021, Us Weekly confirmed that the pair had split and he was trying to win her back. Scroll down to see which Vanderpump Rules stars have commented on the alleged breakup: ![]() "I was going to be part of the wedding and I had my tux and everything. It was so abrupt," Schwartz said during a January 2022 appearance on WWHL. "We were blindsided by that." Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() During an appearance on WWHL on December 7, the TomTom cofounder revealed that he heard rumors about Emmett in the past. "It's not worth saying because I don't know how credible the sources were," Sandoval said before confirming that he did mention the information during the season 9 Vanderpump Rules reunion. "I had heard a couple [of rumors]." Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock ![]() “I think the truth needs to come out. I think somewhere in between each one of their stories is the truth,” the Australia native exclusively told Us on November 12. “And are we going to get to know what that truth is? Probably not. So then it's just kind of like, ‘Look, we gotta be supportive of our friends.’” The personal trainer continued: “The thing about this group is, like, we're still a group of friends, but we really get deeper with the subject matter [on the show]. So, it kind of, like, causes this awkwardness and these issues, but then once we fix them or deal with them, you come back together and it's kind of like [we are all] a little deeper glued.” Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() "I'm not going to speak on that relationship at all. You know, it's a tough position that they're in," Shay said during the November 2 episode of WWHL. "I don't like seeing her go through any of this. I talk to Lala almost every day. I've checked in on her a lot. She's doing good." The “Scheananigans” podcast host exclusively told Us on November 12 that Lala is “a very strong woman and she's going to be just fine” after the breakup. She noted that she wants her pal to “do what’s best for her” and take “some time apart” from Randall. “Of course, you would hope for any family to be back together [eventually], but right now, no, I think she just needs to focus on herself and her baby,” she added. Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() “I have spoken to her. I don't know what's gonna happen in the future. I really don't know, like, what she's planning on doing,” the Fancy AF Cocktails author said during the October 26 episode of Watch What Happens Live. “And certainly, it's been a crazy week, but I have spoken to her and I support whatever decision I she makes.” Stewart Cook/Shutterstock ![]() “Well, look, Randall and I have come a long way and obviously my loyalty stands with Lala, no matter what,” Kennedy told WWHL host Andy Cohen on October 19. “But, honestly I don’t know much. I just wish them the best. I don’t really like to dip deep into their business. You know what I mean? I’m more about me and Raquel these days.” Gregory Pace/Shutterstock ![]() When asked by a fan whether she was worried about her fiancé, Kennedy, now that his former flame Kent is allegedly single, Leviss was quick to respond. “Oh, no! No, no, no. I’m actually not worried at all because he’s shown me how loyal he is to me,” she said on WWHL while sitting next to her man. “I think that we’re an unstoppable force.” MediaPunch/Shutterstock |
Tom Schwartz: James Was a 'Shell' of Himself Amid His Split From Raquel Posted: 19 Jan 2022 08:06 AM PST Offering their support (and sharing their insight). Raquel Leviss and James Kennedy surprised Vanderpump Rules viewers when they announced their split after five years of dating — but fans were not the only ones shocked by the news. Days after the pair filmed the Vanderpump Rules reunion in December, Leviss and Kennedy issued a joint statement on their social media confirming the breakup. “After these 5 wonderful years we had together, we decided we have two different goals and made the decision to call off the engagement,” they wrote in identical Instagram statements on December 5. “We love each other very much, but we aren’t in love anymore. We want nothing but the best for each other so please keep any thoughts positive. Sending Love.” During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on December 7, the longtime host discussed the news with Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval after he revealed that the entire cast found out about the split “for the very first time” during the season 9 reunion, which will air in 2022. Although Madix didn’t expect for her friends to part ways, there were signs that she was concerned about, explaining, “I say this with nothing but love in my heart for James, I think when he stopped drinking and became sober there were other issues that he was not going to — his refusal to go to real therapy honestly is a huge red flag for me.” That same day, the U.K. native addressed his plans for the future after confirming the major life change. “Last day of filming today and what a year it has been (to say the least) today one chapter ends and a new chapter truly begins for me,” Kennedy captioned a photo of himself via Instagram on December 7. “Not sure what I'm going to do but I do know one thing, I will continue my journey without alcohol, I will find my true self and the music never dies. Thank you to all my friends that have reached out I appreciate you all so much. Cheers.” After Leviss and Kennedy decided to go their separate ways, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that they were in a “tumultuous relationship” that lead up to the “hard decision.” “They both want different things,” the insider shared. “They don’t have love anymore in terms of a romantic relationship, but they still have love for each other as friends. … They’re really trying to figure out what their lives look like now that they’ve split. They have a lot of admiration and respect for each other.” At the time, the source noted that although Bravo hasn’t decided whether the reality series will be renewed for season 10, "James does want Raquel to continue with the show." 'My Brother!' Inside Bob Saget and John Stamos' Decades-Long Bond Posted: 19 Jan 2022 08:00 AM PST A lifelong bond. Bob Saget and John Stamos weren’t just family on Full House — they considered each other brothers off screen too. Saget, who died suddenly on January 9, 2022, at the age of 65, remained close with Stamos long after the show ended in 1995. Although the pair played brothers-in-law Danny Tanner and Jesse Katsopolis, respectively, on the beloved sitcom, they always viewed each other as family. In October 2009, Saget reflected on just how rare it is to stay so close to one another after filming wrapped. “When you get to work with someone, when that work ends, whatever it may be, you don’t often see them as much,” he said, while honoring Stamos as the latter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “John has truly become my family. His family is my family … our work family meant a great deal to us.” Through the years, the pair supported each other through their ups and downs, both professionally and personally. After he attended Saget’s November 2018 wedding to Kelly Rizzo, Stamos reflected on their decades-long friendship. “Sometimes in life, the least likely person that you'd think would turn out to be your lifelong friend, someone who is there for you through the ups and downs and sideways’s – a brother and a confidant,” the You alum wrote on Instagram. “Someone to laugh with and cry with, but mostly laugh with, – well Bob turned out to be all that and more.” Saget and Stamos, along with much of the original Full House cast, brought their familial bond back to the small screen in 2019 for the Netflix revival, Fuller House. The revival ended in 2020 after five seasons, but the How I Met Your Mother alum was confident that he would remain tight with his costars for years to come. “We've stayed friends all these years. It's not just a press thing that we say," Saget told Us Weekly in December 2019. He added that he “was more emotional about seeing [the cast] and being with them” than he was when saying goodbye to Danny Tanner. In his tribute to Saget during his show in January 2022, Jimmy Kimmel even touched on the pair’s friendship, describing them as “beyond friends.” The late-night host added, “They were brothers. They are brothers.” Stamos shared a clip of the segment on Twitter, noting that “Bob would have loved this.” Keep scrolling to relive Saget and Stamos’ brotherhood through the years: ![]() Working on Full House brought Saget and Stamos together, but the two didn't exactly have an instant connection. "The first four years we worked together, we weren't besties," Saget told Stamos during an April 2017 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. "You were bringing all the hot women in the world to the show, you had a mullet, you were Uncle Jesse. I was a married guy ... I was trying to write jokes at night." Lorimar/Warner Bros/Kobal/Shutterstock ![]() Throughout the years, Stamos (seen here in a scene from Fuller House alongside Saget and Dave Coulier) was a frequent presence at Saget's "Cool Comedy-Hot Cuisine" events, which raised funds to support the Scleroderma Research Foundation. Bob, we love you dearly." REEL/MEGA ![]() Stamos followed it up with a statement of his own admitting that he wasn't "ready to say goodbye" to his best friend just yet. "I'm not ready to accept that he's gone - I'm not going to say goodbye yet. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe." Lorimar/Warner Bros/Kobal/Shutterstock ![]() In response to Stamos' post, in which he envisioned Saget performing and speaking with his wife and family, Rizzo commented on the lasting bond they shared. "John. My brother. Bob’s brother," she wrote in the comments. "Thank you for this and the fact that we just need to picture him out on the road doing what he loved and what made him so damn happy. MAKING PEOPLE HAPPY. And for sharing his last moments so perfectly. I know that is what happened. I love you and BOB loves you forever." Gregg DeGuire/UPI/Shutterstock |
Tom Sandoval: Randall Emmett Might 'Cut Ties' With Lala's Costars Post-Split Posted: 19 Jan 2022 07:53 AM PST ![]() Causing a rift? Although Randall Emmett grew close to several Vanderpump Rules stars during his romance with Lala Kent, Tom Sandoval hinted that their interactions might look a little different following the pair’s split. “I don’t even know if Randall necessarily — I think at this point he might want to cut ties [with us] and maybe move on,” Sandoval, 38, explained on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Tuesday, January 18, when asked whether he thinks his friendship with Emmett, 50, will last down the line. “I don’t know. I can’t predict the future. I don’t think so, honestly.” Tom Schwartz later weighed in on how the “tough” breakup affected his bond with the director, saying, “On a personal level, I really love Randall, he is a great dude and we have a great relationship. But I understand that it got messy and Lala is my girl, too.” After joining the hit Bravo series in 2014, Kent, 31, surprised her costars and viewers when she chose to keep her love life private. The beauty mogul started dating Emmett ahead of season 5, going public with their relationship in 2018. Two years later, the pair made their onscreen debut. The filmmaker quickly formed connections with several of Kent’s costars, including Schwartz, 39, Sandoval and Jax Taylor. In October 2021, the singer sparked split speculation when she deleted all photos of her then-fiancé from her social media. One month later, Us Weekly confirmed that the twosome had called it quits. Shortly after news of their breakup made headlines, a source told Us that the Midnight in the Switchgrass director was spotted “venting” to Taylor, 42, during a dinner in Los Angeles. "It was just a guys' night and Lala was nowhere in sight,” an eyewitness shared in November 2021, adding that it seemed as though the Florida native needed “some advice or someone to talk to” at the time. Kent, for her part, later revealed that she and Emmett “don’t communicate” much anymore after she saw photos of him with other women in Nashville. “He came home. I had seen the pictures. I kind of knew what I wanted to do. We didn’t have a conversation about it and I packed my stuff and I left. No communication about anything. Even now, it’s through lawyers,” the reality star, who shares 10-month-old daughter Ocean with her ex-fiancé, detailed on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast in December 2021. “I think that’s what is so hard to stomach for me is that even when we weren’t connecting, I was so loyal and faithful.” The Utah native got honest about the work she put into making her relationship work before ending her engagement. “I was not sending inappropriate text messages. I was, like, in it. I went straight to him. If I was ever feeling unhappy, I was willing to do couple’s therapy. I started going to therapy on my own,” she said. “Like, I was doing anything I possibly could to make sure that he and I would stand the test of time. [Now I] feel like I was doing all of that really for nothing. I mean, I look back on these years with him and I can’t remember any of it.” |
Kim Kardashian Has Grown ‘Closer’ to Pete Davidson Amid Kanye West Drama Posted: 19 Jan 2022 06:30 AM PST Leaning on her man! Kim Kardashian is "very happy" with Pete Davidson as she confronts her latest drama with estranged husband Kanye West, a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. The 28-year-old Saturday Night Live star makes the 41-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum “laugh and feel comfortable during this rough time," the insider says, noting that the 44-year-old rapper’s ups and downs with Kardashian don't concern Davidson. "It's not impacting their relationship at all," the source explains. "If anything, this drama is bringing Kim and Pete closer together because he makes things so easy." The Selfish author and West were married for nearly seven years before splitting in February 2021. Eight months after she filed for divorce, the KKW Beauty founder was linked to Davidson. Since confirming her romance with the New York native in November 2021, Kardashian's relationship with her estranged spouse has grown tense. Earlier this month, West dissed Davidson in a leaked verse from a new song, "My Life Was Never Easy." He continued to raise eyebrows when he claimed that he was not invited to his and Kardashian's daughter Chicago's 4th birthday party. During an Instagram Live on Saturday, January 15, the Yeezy designer said the celebration's location was allegedly kept secret from him. The "Jesus Walks" rapper also shares North, 8, Saint, 6, and Psalm, 2, with the Skims founder. He eventually made an appearance at the party, claiming Travis Scott sent him the address and that Kylie Jenner let him in when he was allegedly stopped by security. (The doll-themed event was a joint celebration for Scott and Jenner's daughter, Stormi, 3.) As the drama transpired on Saturday, a source exclusively told Us, "Kim was shocked to learn that he released a video about not being invited to her party — that's not true and as soon as he asked to come he was given the location." The insider added that Kardashian and West "always [had] two parties planned" for their youngest daughter's big day, which was the musician's idea. "Kanye has caused a lot of drama lately with the family [and] they're not happy with what's transpired over the last few days," a separate source exclusively told Us on Monday, January 17, noting that the Grammy winner is "uncontrollable" as he continues to air their "private matters" in public. In the wake of West's party outburst, the third insider said that Kardashian is "ready for that chapter to close for good" as the pair continue to finalize their divorce. In December 2021, the reality star requested to be declared legally single and to restore her last name. While West has been vocal over the past few months about wanting to make things work with his estranged wife — despite his budding romance with model Julia Fox — the mother of four is "hoping the divorce is settled soon," the source told Us on Monday. Inside Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet’s Split: What Went Wrong? Posted: 19 Jan 2022 05:00 AM PST The end of an era. The same thing that made Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet such a great couple is what led to their split, a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. "Jason and Lisa worked because they were so different,” the insider said of the Aquaman star, 42, and the Emmy nominee, 54. “He was jovial, loud and the center of attention, and Lisa was always cool, calm and subdued.” The former couple shocked fans earlier this month when they announced their decision to part ways after 16 years together. "We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times,” they wrote in a joint statement shared on January 12. “And so~ We share our Family news~ That we are parting ways in marriage. We share this not because we think it's newsworthy ~ But so that~ as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty." After nearly two decades together, the source told Us that the differences in their outlooks on life began to cause problems. “That energy really started to cause friction because they wanted to live different lives,” the insider said. “Jason wanted to travel and adventure much more. Lisa, she would rather read, write poetry and cook at home.” The now-estranged duo began dating in 2005 after meeting through mutual friends. They welcomed daughter Lola, 14, in July 2007 and son Nakoa-Wolf, 13, in December 2008. After years of speculation that they were secretly married, the Dune actor and the Cosby Show alum tied the knot in October 2017. Bonet later revealed that the twosome had an instant connection from the beginning. "I can't say it was full-on from the moment we saw each other, but we have been together from the day we met," she told Porter magazine in March 2018. "In that moment, love came and it came big, and he did not run as I think a lot of men do. He basically picked me up and threw me over his shoulder, caveman style!" While their romantic relationship is over, the duo said in their breakup statement that they maintain “devotion” for each other for the sake of their children. “The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived," they continued. "We free each other ~to be who we are learning to become.” For more on Momoa and Bonet’s split, watch the video above and pick up the new issue of Us Weekly, on stands now. |
Watch: Married at First Sight's Michael Barely Has Time For Jasmina Post-Wedding Posted: 18 Jan 2022 05:48 PM PST Making time for love. Married at First Sight viewers were introduced to Michael Morency and Jasmina Outar during season 14 — and their marriage got off to a rocky start as the two butted heads mid-reception. Lifetime’s reality show features relationship experts pairing up strangers who meet at the altar on their wedding day. The reception is the first time the two get to know each other — and Michael and Jasmina's post-ceremony chat is very eye-opening based on Us Weekly's exclusive clip from the Wednesday, January 19, episode. The video starts off sweetly enough with Michael, who the show has nicknamed Training for Love, discussing how dedicated he is to finding love. “Growing up, my family experienced loss, and it affected everything. So it’s been difficult figuring out how to let people in, but I’m looking for love,” the groom tells the cameras in the preview. “I’m looking to have a companion. I knew I had to take a big leap in order to have that come to fruition, and I’m glad I did.” Michael, 28, is a personal trainer who has had bad luck on dating apps and is ready to start a family. His wife Jasmina, 29, is an early childhood education teacher who wants real love after being burned by several cheating exes. The teacher, nicknamed Ms. No Nonsense, might even be his ideal woman. “She’s compassionate. She comes from a big family, so we have that connection,” he says. “She’s into things that I’m not necessarily into, which is exciting because I get to go into her world and learn more about her. So I’m just excited to speak to her a little more and really get to know more about my wife.” The pair start with some small talk during the wedding reception, with Jasmina asking, “So are you a pet lover?” Michael tells her, “Yes, but my schedule is so crazy. I don’t see how I could really care for a dog.” Jasmina proceeds to ask her new husband about his daily routine. The trainer then reveals he gets up at 4 a.m. every morning to head to work, and he gets home after 7 p.m. His 13-hour workdays are Monday through Friday, but he takes some clients on the weekends too. The bride doesn’t look thrilled about her husband’s busy schedule. It sounds like he’s barely home, and that clearly makes Jasmina nervous about how much time he’ll be able to dedicate to building the foundation of their relationship. “In my past relationships, I’ve had a bad habit of being with people that [are] just emotionally unavailable,” Jasmina says during a confessional. “I deserve someone who will put me first and really wants the same thing that I want. Marriage, to me, is definitely not a joke. I take it very seriously.” Can the groom find a way to put his new wife before his job? Right now, Jasmina can only keep her fingers crossed. “I hope that Michael is on the same page as me. We’ll see how it goes,” the newlywed says in the teaser. Season 14 of Married at First Sight airs on Lifetime Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET. |
Britney Spears: Justin Timberlake's Family Was 'All I Knew for Many Years' Posted: 18 Jan 2022 05:33 PM PST ![]() Bringing their mom into the mix! Britney Spears added fuel to her ongoing feud with sister Jamie Lynn Spears and called out their mother, Lynne Spears, for how different the girls were treated growing up. The "Toxic" singer, 40, recalled in a since-deleted post on Tuesday, January 18, how her parents and sister, 30, allegedly treated her after she and Justin Timberlake called off their four-year romance in 2002. "I flew home to Jamie Lynn on the couch watching her TV shows right after Justin and I broke up … I was a ghost there!!!!!’ the Grammy winner recalled in the Instagram caption. "I had worked my whole life and I didn't know how to be served by Mamma [sic]." Britney claimed that the Zoey 101 alum just sat there and was "served the chocolate milkshakes with the perfectly crushed ice with the secret chunky sugar" at the age of 12 by their mom. ![]() "She indulges with the TV for hours then goes to lay out on a raft at the pool," the former Mouseketeer wrote of her younger sibling's alleged actions. The "Womanizer" songstress recalled being "in shock" when she saw how Jamie Lynn was treated while she was away, claiming, “This was never my life." Britney further explained, "Justin's family was all I knew for many years." The pop star met the former 'NSync musician, now 40, in 1992. They began dating six years later, but the duo split in 2002. Timberlake apologized in February 2021 for his inaction and part in Britney's public downfall, which ultimately led to her 13-year conservatorship. (The legal adult guardianship was terminated in November 2021 after her father, Jamie Spears, announced he was stepping back as the conservator of her estate after more than a decade.) In her lengthy Instagram post on Tuesday, however, Britney remembered their parents expecting much more of her than Jamie Lynn. "Things were different now and Jamie Lynn had a Nickelodeon show. All I remember saying was 'DAMN !!! How the hell does a 12-year-old land a Nickelodeon show ????'" the "Work Bitch" singer wrote in the since-deleted message. Britney noted that she "never got my iced chocolate drink" from Lynne, explaining that she was expected to be a "grown up" at a much younger age than her sister. "But then maybe I might need a little support," she wrote in the since-deleted post, adding that she was "scared" when she was sent away and forced to go to rehab for four months. The Crossroads actress then addressed Jamie Lynn's Things I Should Have Said book claims, in which Jamie Lynn wrote that Britney allegedly locked them both in a bedroom while she had a kitchen knife because she was "scared" of something. The All That alum wrote in her 2022 memoir that Britney was "erratic [and] paranoid" when she was put under her conservatorship in 2008. The "I'm a Slave 4 U" singer, however, pointed to her parents' marital issues as part of the reason she was freaking out during that time. "My Mamma was on pain medication and could barely hold a conversation in the house because her and my dad split and she was more messed up than anything," Britney claimed on Tuesday. "I remember her sitting on the floor in a conversation and she never got up." She quipped: "I'm sorry Jamie Lynn, I wasn't strong enough to do what should have been done … slapped you and Mamma right across your f–king faces!!!!!" Amid her book tour, Jamie Lynn has denied that the memoir is about Britney, but that hasn't stopped the sisters from trading jabs on social media all month. Britney, however, appeared to try and appeal to Jamie Lynn's emotional side on Tuesday in a second Instagram post, quoting her sister's tearful "Call Her Daddy" podcast interview. The musician explained that when she was sent away by her father, now 69, for months she constantly asked herself the same questions Jamie Lynn tearfully recalled wondering, "Does anybody care?" and "Do I matter?" The former Las Vegas headliner claimed that she reached out to her younger sibling at the time in hopes that she would have her back. "I would honestly be very interested to see your pretty face in the setting I was forced to be in and asking yourself 'DO I MATTER ???' I didn't get to cry |
How Brian Austin Green Feels About Megan Fox, MGK's Engagement Posted: 18 Jan 2022 04:09 PM PST It’s all good! Brian Austin Green is “nothing but supportive” of Megan Fox following her engagement to Machine Gun Kelly, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “Of course he’s happy for her,” the insider reveals, noting that the exes are “coparenting well” as they attempt to “keep it that way” for their children. “They talk about their kids and that’s it.” Green, 48, who shares Noah, 9, Bodhi, 7, and Journey, 5, with Fox, 35, won’t “ever say anything negative” about his estranged wife’s new romance, the source notes. Last week, the Jennifer’s Body actress revealed that the musician, 31, popped the question. “In July of 2020 we sat under this banyan tree. We asked for magic,” Fox captioned an Instagram video of the proposal on January 12. “We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time. Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma.” She continued: “Somehow a year and a half later, having walked through hell together, and having laughed more than I ever imagined possible, he asked me to marry him. And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes. …and then we drank each other's blood 1.11.22.” The “My Ex’s Best Friend” performer showed off the engagement ring that he chose for Fox in his own post, writing, “‘Yes, in this life and every life. Beneath the same branches we fell in love under, U brought her back to ask her to marry me. I know tradition is one ring, but I designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birth stone) and the diamond (my birth stone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love. 1-11-2022.” The couple originally met on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass in March 2020 when Fox was still married to Green. After the Transformers star was photographed spending time with Kelly two months later, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum confirmed that he and Fox decided to go their separate ways after 10 years of marriage. “Neither one of us did anything to each other,” the Dancing With the Stars alum during his "… With Brian Austin Green" podcast in May 2020. “She’s always been honest with me and I’ve always been honest with her. And I know she will always love me and I know as far as a family, what we have built is really cool and really special. So we decided let’s make sure we don’t lose that. That no matter what we’re always friends with each other and we’re a united front with the kids.” Two months later, Fox and Kelly made headlines when they candidly addressed their growing connection in their first joint interview. “The second that I was in a room with him … I knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame,” the Tennessee native recalled during the July 2020 episode of the “Give Them Lala … With Randall” podcast. “Instead of a soul mate, a twin flame is actually where a soul has ascended into a high enough level that it can be split into two different bodies at the same time. So we’re actually two halves of the same soul, I think. And I said that to him almost immediately because I felt it right away.” Green, for his part, has moved on with DWTS‘ Sharna Burgess. "They've both clearly moved on and are happy in their own relationships,” a second source previously told Us. “They've found soulmates essentially and are focusing on their own personal relationships now." Has Ant Anstead Thought About Marriage Amid Renee Zellweger Romance? Posted: 18 Jan 2022 04:00 PM PST ![]() Taking their time! Ant Anstead couldn’t be happier in his relationship with Renée Zellweger — but the pair haven’t thought about marriage yet. “Oh, absolutely not,” the 42-year-old U.K. native told Us Weekly exclusively on Tuesday, January 18, about whether he’s ready to take the next step. “I mean … what’s the rush?” Anstead confessed that he also hasn’t considered welcoming more kids in the future. He shares Amelie, 18, and Archie, 15, with ex-wife Louise Anstead, to whom he was married from 2005 to 2017, and Hudson, 2, with Christina Haack. Us confirmed in July 2021 that the Wheeler Dealers host and the HGTV star, 38, finalized their divorce following their September 2020 split. The Celebrity IOU: Joyride personality and the Christina on the Coast star called it quits less than two years after tying the knot, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. While Haack moved on with fiancé Joshua Hall, Ant sparked a romance with the 52-year-old Judy actress in June 2021, attending their first event together as a couple two months later. “They each feel like they’ve finally met their soulmate,” a source exclusively told Us of the duo in August 2021, noting that the twosome’s relationship was “headed in a positive direction.” According to the Cops and Robbers author, even his children have noticed how happy Zellweger makes him. “Nobody knows you better than your children. … They're my kids. They’re part of my DNA,” he gushed to Us on Tuesday. “You can’t fake it with your kids.” The For the Love of Cars presenter referred to his eldest children as his “best friends,” telling Us that there was “no topic” he felt uncomfortable discussing with the teens. Despite his busy schedule — and with Amelie and Archie mainly living across the pond — Ant is proud of his ability to be “a present parent” to his kids. “I like being invested in my children,” he explained, adding that he tries to “lean into the positive side” of coparenting with his former spouses. Though a trip down the aisle might not be in the near future, things have definitely heated up between Ant and Zellweger. In October 2021, Us confirmed that the Chicago actress listed her Los Angeles home, sparking rumors that she was planning to move in with her beau. However, a source denied at the time that the couple were settling down together. His blossoming romance isn’t the only thing Ant has to look forward to this year. So we have all the normal startup business problems, and of course, we all have our own lives to deal with as well. … It’s real, it’s about, you know, a group of people that got together and launched a business. And we did it in the middle of a pandemic.” Radford Returns premieres on Discovery+ Saturday, January 22. With reporting by Diana Cooper |
Bachelor Nation’s Des and Chris Celebrate 7 Years of Marriage Posted: 18 Jan 2022 01:31 PM PST It's a love story, baby, just … accept the final rose. Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried are one of Bachelor Nation's rare success stories. Hartsock first competed for Sean Lowe's heart on season 17 of The Bachelor, which aired in 2013. After making it to the hometown dates, the bridal stylist was sent packing. While Lowe ended up marrying winner Catherine Giudici, Hartsock was named the ninth Bachelorette. “I wanted to come back, because I know from first-hand experience the feelings are very real, and you really can form a relationship from it," she declared on the May 2013 premiere episode. “Throughout this season, you'll see I really wanted to make sure I was going to be the right person for them, as well, because I was really aware of that. I made sure if I'm not going to be the right person for you, let me know. It's always a two-way street.” During the season, Hartsock was briefly left heartbroken when Brooks Forester quit the show after making the final three. "I'm not broken," she insisted to host Chris Harrison after breaking down. "My heart might be, but my spirit hasn't been broken … I want to find someone to share my life with. I do, I really do." The designer subsequently accepted a proposal from Siegfried during the August 2013 finale. "I feel like I was blindsided by my feelings for Brooks, that I couldn't see that the one thing I always needed was right in front of me," Hartsock told Siegfried during the final rose ceremony. "You have been by my side from the very beginning … I thank you every day for never giving up. And you mean the absolute world to me. I love you. I love you so much." Siegfried was thrilled by the love declaration. "You make me want to be a better person, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you," he told her before he got down on one knee. "I don't want to make decisions for me anymore; I want to make decisions for you, and us, and our lives together." The twosome will celebrate 5 years of marriage in January 2020. ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Cast’s Dating History Posted: 18 Jan 2022 01:30 PM PST What happens at SUR, does not stay at SUR. When viewers were introduced to staff at Lisa Vanderpump‘s restaurant during Vanderpump Rules‘ 2013 premiere, it was clear everyone was intertwined in one another’s love lives. From Stassi Schroeder‘s rocky relationship with Jax Taylor, which took a turn when he hooked up with her best friend Kristen Doute, to Peter Madrigal’s casual connections to several of the waitresses, including Katie Maloney, nothing was off-limits on screen. Fans were in for a surprise when Lala Kent, who joined the Bravo series in 2014, chose not to share as many details about her love life with the camera. Ahead of filming season 5, the Give Them Lala author started seeing Randall Emmett, but they kept their relationship quiet for two years before going public in 2017. The duo, who have since gotten engaged and welcomed daughter Ocean in March 2021, later opened up about why Kent had to keep their romance private when they first got together. “I begged him first of all, like, ‘Please, people have to see our relationship is real life!'” the singer explained to Entertainment Tonight in February 2020 ahead of the director’s debut on the Bravo series. Emmett, for his part, admitted that he “should have done it a long time ago” when it came to appearing on the show. “For years, she asked and it just got to a point where the things being said about me weren’t that nice, and about our relationship, weren’t that nice, the way things were coming across and we were like, ‘OK, let’s try it out,'” he noted. “I wouldn’t see her all summer, you know, she’d always be gone, so it was nice to hang out and spend time with her and do a little bit of this.” Kent also shared how it felt not being able to say Emmett’s name on the show. “I was so sick of calling him ‘my man,’ and then people started making fun of me for it,” she added. “I was like, ‘You gotta take it up with my man, ’cause he’s the one that chooses to be nameless and faceless.'” The Midnight in the Switchgrass producer, who was previously married to Ambyr Childers, explained that he didn’t think anyone was invested in knowing his identity. “When I started dating Lala, I never thought anybody would have any interest in me. I just thought, ‘OK, I’m dating. I fell in love with her,'” he said at the time. “I didn’t think anybody cared about me. So, as it became this thing, it was worse that I was ‘no name.'” Since going public with their relationship on Vanderpump Rules, the duo made headlines in October 2021 when the reality star erased all traces of her fiancé on social media. As rumors swirled about Emmett possibly cheated on the performer, Kent was spotted multiple times without her engagement ring. Us Weekly later confirmed their split. "Randall did not want to split but it was Lala's decision," a source exclusively told Us in November 2021. "The trust is gone. He's been trying to win her back." Kent first addressed the cheating rumors in a December 2021 episode of her “Give Them Lala” podcast. “I found out about the pictures of his name we shall not mention and the Nashville girls," she told listeners at the time. "[And] I decided on October 20th, the day of my book signing, that I was going to change my tattoo from ['Rand'] to 'bRand new.'" She didn’t get into the specifics of their breakup, but she made it clear that she felt their relationship had to end. "The second that I felt unsafe — I said this in therapy — I said, 'The second I get a pit in my stomach, it’ll be a different conversation,'" she noted. "I got that pit and I got the f–k out. No questions asked. ‘Buh-bye.'” Scroll down for a complete guide to the cast of Vanderpump Rules' relationships: ![]() Season 1 of Vanderpump Rules followed Schroeder's tumultuous romance with fellow SUR employee Taylor. The two bartenders denied that they did anything but share a kiss at the time. They later confirmed during the season 2 reunion in 2014 that they were dating and have been going strong ever since. In 2020, Madix came out as bisexual. “I think that the more you're open and honest about who you are, I feel like it just makes you stronger in the end,” Sandoval told Us in February 2020 of the revelation. “It’s something I’ve known.” The bar owner also opened up about how the twosome approach plans for their future. “Whenever we're busy, whenever we're working out, healthy, being proactive, it just tends to be a positive influence on our relationship. We just want to kind of keep those things going on," he added. "Get the house in order, keep doing this cocktail book tour. I'm stoked. We're very close. We joke around on a regular basis.
