Anna Kendrick’s Has Been Low-key Dating Bill Hader

When Bill Hader and Anna Kendrick teamed up for Noelle in 2019, no one thought the Disney + movie would breed a real-life romance. According to an anonymous source speaking to PEOPLE mag, the pair became a couple a year after the movie and had been going strong since then. Here's everything we know from the source's mouth.

The Alleged Relationship

Although the actors were friends long before the Disney + Christmas film, they didn't form a relationship until sometime in 2020. The source said, "Anna has been dating Bill quietly for over a year… they're both private people, and with the pandemic, it was easy to keep it quiet."

Although PEOPLE reached out to their representatives for confirmations, they declined to respond. It's no surprise there since the source alleged that they love their privacy – that bit must be true if we haven't heard of this relationship until now.

Former Relationships

A little over a year ago (the alleged length of Anna and Bill's romance), Bill Hader, 43, broke up with his then-girlfriend Rachel Bilson, 40. He and Rachel dated seven years after appearing in the rom-com The To-Do List in 2013. At the time of the movie, Bill and Maggie Carey were still married.

Anna, who's never been married, doesn't believe in the romantic concept of "The One." She once said her film Love Life accurately depicted her romantic life. The Pitch Perfect actress said, "People come into your life and grow, and they change you, and what you learn from them might be really positive, or it might be negative."

How Do They Feel About Each Other?

While doing the press runs for Noelle, Anna and Bill, who played siblings, gushed about each other's performance. "Anna's been amazing. She's a great performer. She's just such a strong performer, and that's always great because it raises your game, you know what I mean," Bill said.

Anna also said, "Bill Hader and I play brother and sister. Santa's out dad, and Nick, played by Bill, is next in line…." She also reminisced on the day Bill's children joined them on set, "that was so magical to see them, like skate everywhere. I was just like, 'this is - it's magic!'"

What Are They Doing Now?

Since the news broke that Anna and Bill were hiding a year-plus-old relationship, the couple has remained quiet. It's not as if they often blabbed to the media anyways, so unless wedding bells toll, we might never confirm the integrity of PEOPLE's source. Even then, there's no guarantee that the couple would let us in on their special day (if it ever comes.) Anyways, fingers crossed.

Vacation In Nanshan

The San Francisco-born Chinese skier can't wait to return to the Chongli, Nanshan for the 2023 Winter Olympics. She spoke fondly of her childhood training in the Ski lodge with legendary Dr. Lu Jian.

Admitting that the picturesque scenery in Nanshan isn't the only draw for her, Eileen said, "the biggest point of difference is the community. Everyone is so supportive. We are such a small niche group." There's only more selling point for the Olympian in Nanshan, and it's the fashion.

Fashion In Beijing

Taking a 45 minutes tube from Nanshan to Beijing, the Chinese-American skier joins the crowd in Sanlihe Park for mini-festivals. She called the park "a place where people dress up." She'd put on her symbolic Tiffany and Co. knot choker and join the fashionistas to dance and parade some of her affiliate brands, including Michael Kors and Chanel.

Eileen's go-to style for a night out in the city is Ski Chic – a cream-colored long-sleeved turtleneck, matching Chanel knee-length boots, and Louis Vuitton Ski glasses.

Connection To Her Mother’s Land

Being born to an American father and a Chinese mother sure has its perks because Eileen represents China in the Olympics. According to the Olympic skier, her intention to "inspire millions of young people where [her] mom was born" and "promote the sport [she] loves" prompted her choice.

The 18-year-old is breaking boundaries at such a young age and doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon. Eileen Gu wears her mixed heritage with pride, so much so she taught her team how to prepare traditional Chinese dumplings.

Artists typically drop teasers and looks to build anticipation for their debut day, and Megan's two-toned bikini sent the message.

While some fans are grateful for new music from the Hot Girl Coach, many music enthusiasts complained about the song and the visuals. Shenseea and Megan blew up because of their lyrically genius freestyling on radio shows, so seeing them water down their talent for TikTok style music upsets many of their supporters.

Despite not having Ben Simmons on the court, the Philadelphia 76ers still continue to make a huge noise in the 2021-22 NBA season, thanks to the face of the franchise, Joel Embiid. Embiid is currently establishing an MVP-caliber performance this season, averaging 28.0 points, 10.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.1 steals while shooting 49.4 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from beyond the arc, per ESPN.

Recently, Embiid dropped a new career-high in points (50) to help the Sixers obtain a 123-110 victory over the Orlando Magic at Wells Fargo Center Philadelphia.

Joel Embiid Compared Himself To GOATs

In a post-game interview, Sixers point guard Tyrese Maxey shared an interesting conversation between him and Embiid before they faced the Magic. Maxey said he was messing with Embiid, asking him if he would be Shaquille O'Neal or Dirk Nowitzki against the Magic. Embiid told Maxey that he was just going to be himself.

Embiid explained his answer to reporters and added that he could be O'Neal and Dirk, and even Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan whenever he wants.

Comparison To Other Legendary Big Men

Aside from the four legendary players that he mentioned, Embiid is also drawing comparisons to other NBA greats. In an interview with reporters, Sixers head coach Doc Rivers likened Embiid to Hakeem Olajuwon and Kevin Garnett.

"He's a little bit Olajuwon and a little bit Garnett - that's a heck of a combination," Rivers said, via Tom Moore of USA Today, via Twitter. "I said it before that I knew he was good when I got here but I didn't know he could do all this."

No Charges Filed In Custody Death Of Cedric Lofton

In September last year, 17-year-old Cedric Lofton was arrested in Wichita, Kansas after "exhibiting erratic and aggressive behavior" toward his foster family.

After arresting Lofton, the police took him to a county juvenile center. However, the teen refused to follow the orders of correctional staff and fought with them.

Staff then placed shackles on Lofton's ankles, handcuffed his wrists behind his back, and rolled him onto his abdomen. The teen calmed down after this, and made "snoring sounds," according to an autopsy report from the Sedgwick County Regional Forensic Science Center.

No Criminal Charges

A few minutes after handcuffing Lofton, staff members checked for his pulse -- they could not find one. The teenager was pronounced dead two days later.

But Sedgwick County District Attorney Marc Bennett announced this week that no criminal charges will be filed in this case, as reported by The New York Times.

The decision shocked the entire community, especially Lofton's biological family, which has vowed to pursue legal action.

But how did Bennett explain his decision not to file charges?

Stand Your Ground Law

Bennet wrote in his report that Kansas' stand your ground law law prevents his office from filing criminal charges over Lofton's death in custody.

The employees of the juvenile detention center Lofton died in, Bennet wrote, "acted in self-defense under Kansas law." The state's law, he argued, makes them "immune from prosecution" in this case.

"This is not a reflection of this office's approval of what happened to Cedric Lofton on September 24, 2021. This should never have happened," the Sedgwick County district attorney concluded in his report.

Homicide

Medical examiner Dr. Timothy S. Gorrill ruled Lofton's death a homicide last month.

"In my opinion, Cedric Lofton died as a result of complications of cardiopulmonary arrest sustained after physical struggle while restrained in the prone position," he wrote.

Nonetheless, according to Bennet, this does not mean criminal charges can be brought.

"Whether or not criminal charges can be brought is a separate, legal determination to be made by the Office of the District Attorney based on the laws of the State of Kansas and the evidence collected by law enforcement," Bennet said.

Family Devastated

Lofton's biological parents and older brother are absolutely devastated, according to lawyer Andrew Stroth who represents them.

According to Stroth, Bennet's arguments are weak being that Lofton was unarmed, weighed just 135 and posed no threat to correctional staff.

"The idea of a stand-your-ground defense or immunity makes absolutely no sense based on the facts in this case," Stroth said.

"Family and the community and stakeholders in the community are going to continue to fight for justice for Cedric. They're going to continue to fight to make sure people are held accountable for this unjustified killing of an unarmed 17-year-old," he added.
