Zendaya Advises The Next Generation Of Young Women For Lancôme 'Write Her Future' Program

Last month during International Women's Day, Zendaya and some other women ambassadors of French beauty house Lancôme joined its Write Her Future Campaign. They announced the new WHF Scholarship Fund channeled towards sponsoring women through school,

"granting them access to functional literacy, higher education scholarships, & mentorship since 2017."

Lancôme partnered with Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) to sponsor 40 women of color in College for the 2022/2023 Academic Session via $10,000 Grants. Teen Vogue reported that ACT-SO would also offer the top students courses while Lancôme USA provides mentorship and internship opportunities.

Finding Happiness As An Actress

The 26-year-old started her passionate speech by saying she's proud of being a woman. Zendaya spoke about happiness and credited her job as the primary source of her joy. That's why Cowboys legend Michael Irving thinks both star wideouts made a mistake. Per him, leaving two of the best QBs in the league was a no-go, regardless of the financial situation:

Joe Rogan Says Members Of Congress Routinely Engage In Insider Trading

UFC commentator Joe Rogan, the host of the mega-popular The Joe Rogan Experience, has never shied away from expressing his views on various issues.

In a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan discussed the fact that members of the United States Congress are allowed to trade stocks and invest in companies they are supposed to regulate.

Here's What Rogan Said

Speaking with comedian Greg Fitzsimmons, Rogan argued that what lawmakers are doing amounts to insider trading, which is illegal.

Per Mediaite, Rogan lamented about "the amount of stock trading that’s done by members of Congress... the amount of money that they make when they know decisions that are going to be signed and passed."

Members of Congress aren't barred from trading stocks while in office, and many do so, along with their immediate family members.

Rogan On Nancy Pelosi

Rogan pointed out that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's husband bought Tesla stock before Congress passed a bill benefiting electric vehicle companies.

"Like there was one recently, they were talking about Nancy Pelosi and the amount of money she invested in Tesla right before Biden signed this EV bill. Electric vehicle bill, Rogan said.

"Well, insider trading is against the law. How is that not insider trading?" he asked.

Insider Trading

Rogan argued that it is absurd this practice is not outlawed, stressing that members of Congress have a huge advantage when it comes to trading stocks and often get rich because of it.

“If you know that someone’s going to sign a bill and that bill is going to be a massive boost to the electrical vehicle industry, just as an example. And you know that bill is going to be signed so right before that bill is signed, you buy a f*ck load of stock in electrical vehicles. And then the next day or whenever it was, bill gets passed and then that stock goes up and you make a sh*t ton of money."

"How is that not illegal?" he asked once again.

Stock Trading Ban

According to OpenSecrets, several bills that would ban members of Congress from trading stock have been introduced, but not a single one was passed.

That may soon change since more than 125 lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have sponsored legislation that would outlaw the practice.

However, lawmakers are still divided on key issues since some believe members of their families should be allowed to purchase stocks.

The American people overwhelmingly support the ban. A recent poll found that just five percent of Americans believe members of Congress should be allowed to trade while in office.

Only Biden Could Beat Donald Trump In 2024, Liberal Pollster Says

Former President Donald Trump has made it clear he intends to run for the White House once again in 2024, and if polls are any indication, he will win the Republican presidential primary easily.

But what about the general election? Research suggests that Trump would be a formidable candidate, as he remains by far the most popular Republican politician in the nation.

According to a top Democratic pollster, there's only one Democrat who could beat Donald Trump: current President Joe Biden.

2024 Election

Speaking with Politico, pollster John Anzalone said there is "no indication" Biden, 79, won't run for reelection.

According to Anzalone, this is good news for Democrats because Biden is the only person who could beat Trump in 2024.

Anzalone said, "a lot of us feel that if Trump runs, there’s no one else that could beat Trump [other] than Joe Biden."

"You go head-to-head, and Joe Biden’s always ahead of him. Not by a lot -- one or two points… Even at his lowest approval rating, he still beats Donald Trump," he explained.

2022 Midterms

Polling suggests Republicans have a good chance of sweeping the 2022 midterm elections and knocking Democrats out of power in both chambers of Congress.

According to Anzalone, Biden and his allies must pass at least a "skinny" Built Back Better bill "or whatever on health insurance costs, prescription drug costs" to be competitive.

But even if Democrats get obliterated in the midterms, the pollster says, that would not necessarily be a bad sign for Biden.

He noted that "Reagan went through this. Clinton went through this. Obama went through this. And they all got re-elected."

What Polls Say

A recent CAPS-Harris poll suggests that Trump would be favored to win against both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who is widely seen as the next in line if the president decides against seeking reelection.

According to The Hill, 47 percent of respondents in the poll said they would vote for Trump, while 41 percent said they would support Biden.

Harris performed a little worse, with 38 percent of respondents in the survey saying they would back her over Trump.

Other polls suggest the same.

The latest Morning Consult survey showed that Trump's popularity in key battleground states has only increased since he left the White House.

The former president's popularity will also be tested in the upcoming midterms, being that he has endorsed a slew of MAGA candidates in Republican primary races across the nation.
