Camila Cabello Recalls Her Lowest Point With Anxiety: It Was ‘Paralyzing’

Posted: 06 Apr 2022 05:08 PM PDT

Katy Perry, Selena Gomez and more stars have shined a light on what it's really like to deal with mental health issues in the spotlight.

Being in the public eye is part of the job when becoming a star, but it can make it more difficult to navigate one's problems. Many stars, however, have used their platform to normalize mental health problems.

From sharing stories of postpartum depression to opening up about anxiety and suicidal thoughts, many of Hollywood's biggest names have become more vocal over the years about real-life struggles.

Ahead of welcoming her first child with Orlando Bloom, Perry got real about facing bouts of depression and self-doubt in the past during an August 2020 interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe. Following her 2017 breakup and Witness album releases, Perry revealed she became "clinically depressed and had to get on medication for the first time in my life.”

The "Roar" singer said she was "so ashamed of it" when she started taking medication. "I was like, ‘I’m Katy Perry. I wrote ‘Firework.’ I’m on medication. This is f—ed up,'" she recalled. The musician later learned how to "quiet it the f—k down" when it came to public criticism and went on a two year "psychological, spiritual, emotional journey."

In April 2020, Gomez revealed that she has bipolar disorder and explained that by knowing that truth about herself she was able to feel more at ease.

"When I have more information, it actually helps me, it doesn't scare me once I know it," the "Rare" singer said on an episode of Bright Minded: Live With Miley. "When I finally said what I was going to say, I wanted to know everything about it and it took the fear away."

Kristen Bell shared her own mental health journey during an interview on Sunday Today With Willie Geist in November 2019, noting that she felt "incredibly irresponsible" for not speaking out sooner.

"Everyone thinks there's some shame in it," the Frozen star said at the time. "I am someone who takes a medication for her anxiety and depression. I am someone who has to check myself and sometimes — if I'm feeling really low — make a checklist of good and bad things in my life to see if it's my mental state or if we really have a problem. And me talking about that actually came from [my husband, Dax Shepard]."

Demi Lovato, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Jon Hamm have also opted not to hide their issues, instead speaking out about their past demons.

Kendall Jenner
The model has been open about suffering from anxiety and depression. “It’s important to have a space that’s just for you where you can let out your happiness,” she told i-D in February 2022. “Your anger, frustrations, and stress, the things that are freaking you out, the things that are making you happy and even just ideas.” She tries to put her thoughts in a journal once or twice a week. She called reading a “great form of therapy and form of distraction,” so she gets engrossed in novels to take her mind off whatever triggered her panic attacks. It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover was a recent read that stopped her mind from spiraling. Physical activity, whether working out or going for a walk with her dog, helps too. "I think I feel really good mentally when I feel really good physically,” she added. She even meditates and is researching sound healing. Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Oliver Hudson
In February 2022, the actor shared a video from June 2021 detailing his decision to stop taking Lexapro after five and a half years. “It’s been crushing, debilitating, just scary honestly,” he said in the clip. “But in this moment, right now, I feel good. I feel f—ing great and it may be fleeting. In an hour, I might be back to where I was but I'm going to bath in normalcy for a moment." In the caption, Hudson explained, “So this was June 30th of last year. I was in throes of intense anxiety. There were moments, very few, where I felt normal. I was gonna post this then but got nervous that it was too self indulgent and it very well may be but f— k it … I just came upon it and thought I’d share.. #seriousoliver.” Andy Kropa/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Lizzo
“I think the need to understand what self-care means matters more and more now," the “Juice” rapper told Yahoo! Life in February 2022. “It's not just like, 'Oh, I get pedicures every Sunday.’ ... That's great, that's a start. Real self-care is, like, hard work, you know what I mean? Real self-care isn't just treating 'yo self' or pampering myself.” Lizzo noted that she often turns to a high-impact workout when she wants to work off her stresses and anxieties, telling the outlet: “Sometimes, the stress that you're feeling, you've got to match that stress with something that's good for you to get it out of your body. Because I know that's what I deal with way more than anything these days, is stress and anxiety.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock
Katie Thurston
“I started taking antidepressants for the first time before my season aired. I thought I knew what to expect,” the former Bachelorette admitted in a January 2022 Instagram message. “I didn’t. I thought I was strong enough to handle the negativity. I wasn’t. But they say time heals everything. If anything, the sparks I once felt for life were doused with the judgement and criticism of not only strangers, but even ones I worked closely with. I was drowning in my tears, unable to even recognize the girl in the mirror. Was the old me really gone?” She explained how she learned to set better boundaries for herself by unfollowing certain social media accounts and limiting her screen time. With these new developments, she is in a much healthier place. Sara Jaye Weiss/Shutterstock

“Hey everyone feels like someone is sitting on their chest all the time and is filled with crushing anxiety correct,” the I Feel Pretty star asked her Instagram followers in January 2022. “Cool cool just checking.” Courtesy Amy Schumer/Instagram
Sara Bareilles
In January 2022, the "Brave" singer shared photos from a trip to see the Northern Lights via Instagram, and the caption revealed she struggled with depression and anxiety throughout 2021. "It has been a very low year for me with regard to my mental health, and I am also grateful that part of the reason I can touch my joy again is I finally got the help of some medication," she shared in the New Year's post. The Grammy winner continued, "It's been a journey to try and pull up, and I found this year I needed more help. It is helping. I am relieved and feel more like myself- and I will find my way again and now it feels possible. If you're struggling- I see you, and I hope you remember you're not stuck as long as you're willing to change the view. Begin Again." S Meddle/ITV/Shutterstock
Machine Gun Kelly
The “Papercuts” singer got candid with Drew Barrymore during a December 2021 episode of her talk show, in which he admitted he struggled with being vulnerable outside of his music. “I see a lot of pictures of me and there's, like, smiles on them," he said. "It's just weird, though, because I didn't feel good at all that day and I kind of am sick of smiling on days when I don't feel like smiling. And I feel like this odd pressure because I don't want, like, my fans to think that I'm taking something for granted." The Dirt actor continued, "So if, like, I accept an award and I'm like, super smiley but behind the scenes … there was, like, stuff going on, or I didn't feel, I don't know, like, a lot of what I do is for other people and I haven't given myself the time to just accept that it's OK to not be OK." Chase Stokes
The Outer Banks actor was was honored by Glenn Close and her Bring Change to Mind organization for his support of mental health awareness, and he opened up about struggling during his teen years. "I remember being 15 and having my first anxiety attack and not knowing how to process it and not knowing where it came from, and wishing I had an outlet to figure out how to understand those things," he said during his speech via E! Online. "This is not for me. This is for the 15-year-old Chase, who didn't know his place in society. And was not sure who he was." Matt Baron/Shutterstock
Will Poulter
The Dopesick star told E! News in November 2021 that he "really struggled" with his mental health throughout the coronavirus pandemic, thanking his Hulu family for being "very empathetic" as he worked through his ups and downs. "I'm very grateful to them for that," he added. JM Enternational/Shutterstock
Bella Hadid
The model took to Instagram in November 2021 to share a clip of Willow Smith discussing feeling "lost" and "confused" alongside several photos of herself crying. She urged followers to take care of their mental health. "Social media is not real. For anyone struggling, please remember that," she wrote in a lengthy caption at the time. "Sometimes all you’ve gotta hear is that you’re not alone. So from me to you, you’re not alone. I love you, I see you, and I hear you. Self help and mental illness/chemical imbalance is not linear and it is almost like a flowing rollercoaster of obstacles … there is always light at the end of the tunnel." She hinted at her own struggles with depression and anxiety, adding, "It took me a long time to get that in my mind, but I’ve had enough breakdowns and burnouts to know this: if you work hard enough on yourself, spending time alone to understand your traumas, triggers, joys, and routine, you will always be able to understand or learn more about your own pain and how to handle it. Which is all that you can ask of yourself. Anyways. Not sure why but it feels harder and harder to not share my truth on here. Thank you for seeing me and thank you for listening." Kirsten Dunst
The Fargo star recalled hitting a wall with her depression during her 20s. The “anger” led to Dunst entering a rehab facility and ultimately starting medication.  “I feel like most people around 27, the s--t hits the fan. Whatever is working in your brain, you can't live like that anymore mentally. I feel like I was angry,” she told The Sunday Times in November 2021. “All I'll say is that medication is a great thing and can really help you come out of something. I was afraid to take something and so I sat in it for too long.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock
Megan Thee Stallion
The rapper reflected on losing her mother in March 2019 after a battle with brain cancer. “I’ve lost both of my parents,” she said on Peace of Mind With Taraji in October 2021, also referring to her father’s death when she was a teenager. “Now I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, who do I talk to? What do I do?’ I just started learning that it’s OK to ask for help. It’s OK to want to go get therapy.” She continued: “As a Black person, and when you think of therapy, you think of, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m weak,’ you think of medication, and you just think the worst. That’s kind of what you see on TV too; like, therapy wasn’t even presented in the media as something that was good. Now it’s becoming safe to say, ‘All right now, there’s a little too much going on. Somebody help me.’” Michele Eve Sandberg/Shutterstock
JoJo
Although the singer works hard to stay on top of her mental health, she admitted that returning to antidepressants initially wasn't her first choice. "I've just been trying to deal day by day. To be honest with you, one of the things that I did — I judged myself a little bit for this, but I got back on antidepressants," JoJo detailed in an interview with Very Well Mind in September 2021. "I wanted to believe that I could clean up my diet, and get out in the sun, and write in my journal, and meditate and do yoga and just be okay. But I needed a little lift." Looking back on it now, the performer doesn't feel bad about needing "a little help." "I'm not ashamed that I did that. It was an important turning point for me," she added.  ETIENNE LAURENT/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock
Olivia Rodrigo
The “Driver’s License” crooner opened up about prioritizing her mental health amid fame during an interview with Vogue Singapore, published in September 2021. “I’m taking [fame] one step at a time,” the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star told the magazine. “It can be really tough on your mental health, though. I’m grateful for the people who like me for me, and keep me separated from all the noise and tabloids or what people are saying about me on social media. That’s always been a top priority. It’s funny how recognition changes everything and also changes nothing in your life. The problems I was having a year ago are still the problems I’m having now, and things that brought me joy a year ago are still the things that bring me joy now. It’s just another aspect of life that you need to learn how to deal with, but it doesn’t change who you are as a person." Rob Latour/Shutterstock
Candace Cameron Bure
The Full House alum opened up about how she handles her depression in September 2021. She said in addition to the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic, being a working mom and traveling actress can mess with her emotions. “Really another big part why fitness is important for me is it’s so beneficial to my mental health,” Cameron Bure explained in an interview with The Salvation Army. “I not only juggle my family but also work in a lot of different capacities. It can get really difficult. The travel can get strenuous as well. I need to keep my mental health clear. Just sweating that out and all those endorphins really help me a lot. I notice a huge difference when I don’t exercise, how much it can affect me mentally and kind of deal with depression.” Willy Sanjuan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Owen Wilson
In a rare interview, Wilson opened up about how struggles from his childhood went unaddressed. “As a kid, there’s a lot of things that you think about. Death — that kind of landed with me when I was about 11,” the actor explained to Esquire in August 2021. “And I don’t remember ever talking with my parents about it.” Wilson, who attempted suicide in August 2007, said that he tried to speak with his parents at the time. “Although I do remember one time saying to my dad — and I remember exactly where in the house — saying, ‘I worry about dying,’ and seeing my dad turn away and catch himself," he recalled. "And I was surprised to see that reaction. But who knows, maybe that was part of why I said it.” Since then, Wilson shared that he’s in a “lucky place” when it comes to his mental health, "feeling pretty appreciative" now. "I know everything’s kind of up and down, but when you get on one of these waves, you’ve gotta ride it as long as you can,” he noted at the time. “I’ve just felt — yeah. Feeling pretty grateful. Well, grateful’s one of those words that get used all the time. Appreciative. Of, you know, stuff.” Action Press/Shutterstock
Lil Wayne
"When I was told that I couldn't have what I wanted, what I dream of, what I desired, and that was to rap. I was willing to die for it," the Grammy winner recalled during an episode of "Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man" in August 2021, going into detail about attempting suicide when he was 12. "[I] aimed for my heart. How I knew I had mental health problems was I pulled the trigger." Police arrived at the scene, and although the musician was badly injured, he survived. "There is no bar to measure how real. [Mental health is] real," he said. "It's so real that if someone even has the guts, the heart, the bravery, whatever to at least admit that they have something going on up there that they're not sure about, it's so real that we should only react in the realest way possible." Oliver Hudson
In August 2021, Hudson shared a throwback photo of himself with a powerful caption. "Listen kid.. you’re [sic] future’s gonna be good but you’re gonna have to go on antidepressants," he wrote. "Shouldn’t be much of a surprise with that stupid face you’re making.. anyway, good look." Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Bella Hadid
The model admitted that she struggles with "insane social anxiety" that only got worse when she became a public figure. "Partying is not my thing, but I felt enormous pressure to project that image because I assumed that's all people wanted from me," Hadid told Vogue in August 2021. "Now I don't want to live in that box. I definitely feel like I'm allowed to speak." Kathy Hutchins/Shutterstock
Jessica Mulroney
“I’ve struggled with anxiety and social anxiety my whole life. I’ve masked it many times and this year has been heavy for all of us,” the stylist wrote via Instagram in August 2021. “Know there is hope. I’ve found it through sobriety and therapy. My life is happy again. I wish this for you all. Thank you for your love this year.” Broadimage/Shutterstock
Kit Harington
In August 2021, the British actor opened up about how his 2019 stay in rehab was beneficial for his mental health as well as his physical health. “I went through some mental health difficulties after [Game of] Thrones — and during the end of Thrones, to be honest — and I think it was directly to do with the nature of the show and what I’ve been doing for years,” he said during an interview on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show. “I think I took a sort of break after Thrones where I said, ‘I don’t want to work for a year. I want to really kind of concentrate on myself.' I’m really happy I did that.” Later that month, he detailed his "traumatic" struggles in an interview with the Sunday Times, sharing that some of his troubles included alcohol. “You get to a place where you feel like you are a bad person, you feel like you are a shameful person. And you feel that there’s no way out, that’s just who you are. And getting sober is the process of going, ‘No, I can change,'" he said of his state of mind before going to rehab in 2019, admitting that he experienced suicidal thoughts. "I will give you an answer to that question: the answer is yes. Yes of course. I went through periods of real depression where I wanted to do all sorts of things. ... I definitely don’t want to be seen as a martyr or special. I’ve been through something, it’s my stuff. If it helps someone, that’s good." KCS Presse/MEGA
Willow Smith
Smith’s May 2021 performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon triggered memories of an anxiety attack she had before a live performance of “Whip My Hair” when she was younger. "I was doing the Jimmy Fallon performance and I had a flashback of being, like, 10 or 9 and, like, having an anxiety attack on set,” Smith explained on a July 2021 episode of “The Yungblud Podcast” for BBC Sounds. “And basically feeling like everyone around me was just, 'You're just a brat… Why aren't you grateful? You're having an anxiety attack,' but they didn't see it as an anxiety attack. They saw it like a tantrum.” The “Transparent Soul” singer explained that she needed to “take time” to process those feelings after reliving the attack. "I need to go into a little meditation," the “Transparent Soul” singer said. "I need to separate myself from the situation a little bit and kind of tell myself, 'You're not 9. You're a grown ass woman.' … And so I have to retrain my mind. So, my mental health is in a very fragile state, but I think it's a state where it's about to grow in a really awesome way.” Janet Mayer/Startraksphoto.com
Olivia Munn
The Newsroom alum had a powerful conversation about depression and overcoming suicidal thoughts during a July 2021 appearance on The Demi Lovato Show. "For people who deal with depression, like you and me, and who can have suicidal thoughts, anytime you get to that place and it seems like things are too tough and you just can't take it anymore, just ask yourself if you can hold on another day," Munn told Lovato. The Oklahoma native noted that if someone takes their own life then it’s “game over” and you’ll never see what could happen in the future. "The pain is really tough. I know, you know. We've been there,” she continued. “But if I had ended my life when I wanted to, there is so much I would have missed. And that's what's worth staying for.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock
Simone Biles
The gymnastics champion withdrew from both the team and all-around finals during the Tokyo Olympics in July 2021. “After further medical evaluation, Simone Biles has withdrawn from the final individual all-around competition at the Tokyo Olympic Games, in order to focus on her mental health,” USA Gymnastics said in a statement at the time. “Simone will continue to be evaluated daily to determine whether or not to participate in next week’s individual event finals.” After her exit, Team USA went on to earn the silver medal during the team finals, which Biles claimed they might not have earned had she not withdrawn from the competition. “After that vault, I was like: ‘I’m not in the right headspace, I’m not going to lose a medal for this country and for these girls’ because they worked way too hard for me to go out there and have them lose a medal,” the Dancing With the Stars alum said in a press conference at the time. Holly Madison
The model opened up about her body dysmorphia struggles while she lived at the Playboy Mansion in a candid July 2021 TikTok video. "So for a recent post, I was looking for pictures of myself in a bunny costume and I came across one. It reminded me of a moment in my life where I was watching a playback of myself in a fashion show and I thought, 'Oh, my God, I need to lose weight,'" Madison explained in the video, alongside a photo of her from 2005. "[I] thought I had gained weight, and thought I hadn't stuck to my diet, and I thought my thighs were huge and I thought, 'I need to lose five pounds at least,’ and that's ridiculous. I look like a stick." In the video, Madison hoped by sharing her story that others can realize the “off the charts” effects of body dysmorphia. “It's not worth it,” she continued. “It’s not worth feeling bad about yourself. Like, there are things we all want to improve about ourselves, but it's not even worth taking the time to be miserable.” Mediapunch/Shutterstock
Naomi Osaka
The tennis star opened up for the first time in July 2021 after mental health issues caused her to drop out of the French Open two months prior. In an essay published by Time, she wrote that she “felt pressure” to disclose her symptoms at the time and worried that people “did not believe [her].” Osaka also mentioned that she thinks every athlete deserves "the right to take a mental break from media scrutiny on a rare occasion without being subject to strict sanctions." After saying she wouldn’t do press for the French Open in May 2021, she received a $15,000 fine. "In any other line of work, you would be forgiven for taking a personal day here and there, so long as it's not habitual. You wouldn't have to divulge your most personal symptoms to your employer; there would likely be HR measures protecting at least some level of privacy," she wrote. "I feel uncomfortable being the spokesperson or face of athlete mental health as it’s still so new to me and I don’t have all the answers. I do hope that people can relate and understand it’s OK to not be OK, and it’s OK to talk about it. There are people who can help, and there is usually light at the end of any tunnel." Ben Higgins
"I am back in Indiana right now because of a breakdown, again, in my life where I don't know what's happening," the season 20 Bachelor admitted to Trista Sutter during a July 2021 episode of her "Better Etc." podcast. "I don't know what this next season of life looks like for me. I'm farther and farther removed from the show, and at the same time, I need to figure out what my life is going to look like and what my legacy is going to be." The reality star explained that fame altered his mental health over time, but that he was looking forward to a new chapter in his life even if it came with fear. "It's also really hard," he said. "I'm at a low place, I don't see myself as this thriving figure right now. I'm kind of lamenting and separating myself from a lot of things that I held close." ABC/Craig Sjodin
Annie Murphy
The Kevin Can F--k Himself star opened up to The Zoe Report in June 2021 about her struggle with depression. At the height of the coronavirus pandemic, Annie Murphy flew home to Canada right as lockdown orders were set in place. She revealed, “My mom was like, ‘You're crying 12 times a day hysterically, to the point where your teeth are chattering. That's not normal.’” From there, she met with a therapist who diagnosed her with depression. “I was like, ‘Damn it, I'm depressed.” With the help of regular therapy and antidepressants, the Emmy Award winner revealed she doesn’t cry every day and can focus on other things in her life. She added, “You don't have to be on drugs for the whole time, but they truly, truly saved my life in the sense that I was not a functional human being and I was able to be a functional human being.” Nina Westervelt/Shutterstock
T-Pain
The "Buy U a Drank" rapper revealed in June 2021 that some harsh criticism from Usher caused his mental health to take a negative turn. "Usher was my friend," the Florida native recalled of the 2013 conversation during Netflix's This Is Pop. "I really respect Usher. And he said, 'I'm gonna tell you something, man. You kinda f--ked up music.' ... I chuckled a little bit, it was a nervous chuckle. I didn't understand, you know?" The comment left a big impression on T-Pain. "That is the very moment, and I don't even think I realized this for a long time," he shared. "But that's the very moment that started a four-year depression for me." Lana Condor
The To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star got real about her battle with anxiety in June 2021. “Some days my anxiety really gets me and I need to lay in bed & be alone until the trembling stops. And that is absolutely OK!” she tweeted at the time. “I charge [very] introverted so that I can expel extroverted energy at my job. And that’s also OK. Take care of yourself and please be kind to yourself.” Broadimage/Shutterstock
Ryan Reynolds
The Deadpool star opened up about his ongoing battle with anxiety as a part of Mental Health Awareness month in May 2021. “One of the reasons I’m posting this so late is I over schedule myself and important things slip. And one of the reasons I over schedule myself is my lifelong pal, anxiety,” Reynolds wrote via Instagram just days before the month ended. “I know I’m not alone and more important, to all those like me who over schedule, overthink, overwork, over-worry and over-everything, please know you’re not alone.” The Proposal actor concluded: “We don’t talk enough about mental health and don’t do enough to destigmatize talking about it. But, as with this post, better late than never, I hope …” Gregory Pace/Shutterstock
Goldie Hawn
In a May 2021 interview with Good Morning Britain, the Oscar winner spoke about struggling with depression when she was in her early 20s. "I was 21 and I was rising to success," she recalled. "I know it sounds terrible, but it's a very, very difficult thing — I didn't necessarily want that. Now in doing so, I was very depressed. And I had a lot of these issues where I couldn't even go outside in public. This is something I worked through. I went to a doctor. I went to a psychologist." The Private Benjamin star added that she hadn't really planned to become famous — she originally moved to Hollywood to become a dancer — and was surprised when she became a household name. "Unfortunately, I didn't want to be a big deal," she shared. "I wanted to go home." Dave Allocca/Starpix/Shutterstock
Dan Levy
The Schitt's Creek cocreator and star opened up about his lifelong battle with anxiety during a December 2020 interview with Bustle, revealing that his mental health struggles came with a few physical side effects. "I think that came from a deep-rooted fear of knowing that I was gay and not being able to be free," Levy said at the time. "By the time I got to high school, when your brain is starting to catch up to your physical impulses, it led to a very confusing time. Because on the one hand, you are now being introduced to things like self-awareness and anxiety. At the same time, you’re becoming more and more savvy when it comes to hiding it."   While social situations caused a serious amount of stress, Levy found an escape in school plays. "I was starting to develop a sense of confidence by way of being able to entertain people," he explained. "It was like a decoy version of myself that I was putting out there to not have to live with the reality that when the bullying was happening ... they were speaking the truth." Hannah Brown
The Bachelorette alum posted three photos showing her dancing as she marked World Mental Health Day in October 2020. The former beauty queen recalled the time she went to see a doctor before going into her junior year of college, when the physician asked her a simple question: "Are you happy, Hannah?" "I will never forget that seemingly simple question that came with a heavy answer," she wrote. "I'm the girl that is always wearing a smile! How dare he ask?! But oh, thank God he did." "'No…. I'm not. I don't even remember the last time I felt happy. And I don't know why. I have reason to be happy, but I just can't really feel it,' I said through broken words passing through the lumps of emotions that had felt indefinitely lodged in my throat," the Dancing With the Stars champ admitted. "I couldn't keep up the act anymore. For years, I silently struggled internally as I was externally championed as the one who always seemed happy. I honestly think that day in the doctor's office was the first time someone asked me if I was indeed, happy." "Admitting I wasn't okay, and acknowledging my silent, hostage struggle with anxiety and depression through my crocodile tears was a pivotal day for me," she continued. "I have made big leaps of progress in healing and understanding 'its okay not to be okay', with important tools and support to help manage the thoughts and feelings that take over and store within me. But several times in my progress, I have had setbacks; many being the overflow of not observing, in private, the gradual buildup of the hurtful, impactful emotions which consequently spewed into some, more public, relapses of destructive behavior. " Brown added that it's important to remember that "progress in mental health is a journey with hills and valleys. Our whole world has been through a valley of fear and hurt this year. Be gentle with yourself. Be humble during the process. You aren't going to always get it right and you will make mistakes, but you—just as you are, are enough. You matter. Ask for help. You are worthy of being able to answer the 'are you happy?' question and to say yes, regardless of the circumstances that would usually take your mind and soul captive. You got this. We've got this. You aren't alone." Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Aly Raisman
The Olympic gold medalist spoke out publicly for the first time in October 2020 about her struggles with OCD during an episode of the “Armchair Expert” podcast. "I always thought OCD was I have to touch this x amount of times or I have to do this x amount of times before I leave the room, but I've also learned that OCD is classified with ruminating thoughts or obsessive thoughts or catastrophic thinking," she explained to host Dax Shepard. "I have that and I'm really trying to work on that right now because sometimes our minds go to our worst-case scenario. " The gymnast revealed that it’s not as easy as simply telling yourself to have a positive mindset. "I feel like for people who don't understand it, they're like, ‘Just don't think about it.' It does not work like that!" she said. "It's so hard because I've been trying to really educate myself on how our minds work just so I can help myself but also just so I can better talk about it and better understand it on a personal level with my family or my friends but also on a public level as well." The Fierce author has continually tried to educate herself on OCD and chose to discuss her personal struggles in hopes of helping others who suffer from the same thing. "So much of the time, our minds don't really realize what's made up and what's real and that's what I struggle with so much is that fight or flight response where it can be something so small and my body is reacting as if a tiger is trying to eat me," she explained. "In my opinion, it relates to trauma and PTSD. Unless you're getting to the root of the problem of why you are not feeling safe or out of control, you're going to keep having OCD and it's going to manifest into other ways of your life." Noah Cyrus
Cyrus celebrated the two-year anniversary of her first EP, “Good Cry” in September 2020, and revealed all of the ups and downs she’s experienced since its release. “I’ve been through so much since then. Putting this ep out and going on tour during one of the most depressive times in my life was so hard,” the musician explained via Instagram. “Every day felt like lifting 100lb weights just to get out of bed. The ache in my chest from the pain felt unbearable. At 18 I didn’t think I was going to be here for a 20th birthday soon to be 21. They felt 1000 years away.” The “Again” singer revealed that she was “so sad, so hurt and so scared” during that time before thanking those who were by her side “during all of my progression and the times where I felt like I was regressing.” Cyrus continued: “Every day is work when it comes to your mental health and personal battles. Not every day is going to be hell and not every day is going to be perfect. I’m still figuring that out. Thank you Cyrens for being patient.”  The “July” artist thanked her fans for “understanding” how “hard” it was for Cyrus to grow up in the public eye, before going into more detail about how important the EP is to her. “I always have written nothing but the truth and this ep was exactly that. I still stand with needing a good f--kin cry every once in awhile. I know that pain is something we HAVE to feel and experience,” she continued. “I owe this album so much. It tought [sic] me so much about myself... and looking back at myself then to show I am now I just want to run back in time and give that Noah a huge ass hug.. as she was breaking ever so slowly. I’m so happy that I was able to create something that everyone relates to... I turned the pain into something beautiful that others can sing, cry, or smile to and nothing makes me feel more purposeful than that. I love you all thank you so much for everything.” Steve Meddle/Shutterstock
Millie Bobby Brown
The Emmy nominee opened up about her struggle with anxiety during a candid interview with Glamour UK in August 2020, noting that staying creative helps change her mood. "When I'm having a bad day or I’m feeling very anxious, some things like when people say, 'Oh, you looked bad at this award show because you looked like this or you looked like that,' those things make me a little bit more anxious and that hinders me a little bit more," she said. "I have learned to manage it in ways that a lot of people learn to manage things like breathing exercises or distracting your mind and my hobbies help distract me from being anxious. ... I have to give myself love because that’s important. Everyone has to empower themselves." David Fisher/Shutterstock
Katy Perry
The “Roar” singer revealed during an August 2020 interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe that during her 30s she hit a wall when she was no longer able to fix her bouts of depression by writing songs about her pain. "I broke up with my boyfriend. My expectations weren't met and the world didn't want to hear from me anymore at that moment," she said looking back at the years in her life that “everything changed” for her. "They were like, 'That's enough. Thank you very much. You've given us something and we're good.' And I just couldn't get out of bed for weeks and became clinically depressed and had to get on medication for the first time in my life." Perry explained that once she was on medication she was “so ashamed of it. I was like, 'I'm Katy Perry. I wrote 'Firework.' I'm on medication. This is f---ed up.'" The singer’s upcoming Smile album gave her the professional and personal comeback she needed. "The last two-and-a-half years have been a psychological, spiritual, emotional journey of just pulling the petrified poison out of my body and rewiring my neural pathways and that negative thought ticker that keeps coming says, 'You're just lucky. You're just cute. You're not really good. You're not very talented. You're lucky. You're just lucky,' or, 'You're not worth it. You're not good enough. You're getting old. You're fat,' all that s--t," she recalled. "I figured out how to quiet it the f---k down.” imageSPACE/Shutterstock
Tallulah Willis
In July 2020, the daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis shared her battle with depression and suicidal thoughts. “A lethal combination of untreated severe chemical imbalance/depression, harmful coping mechanisms and certain debilitating traumas has me questioning if I wanted to continue this life,” she wrote via Instagram. “To have suicidal ideation to me, is to feel there is an unpredictable and unstoppable threat living within your body. In far too often moments, I felt the pain was too overwhelming to keep going. I begged to be saved from my own mind. I am unfathomably lucky that by some unseen force I did not take action on these thoughts.” Tallulah urged those who are “hurting or questioning harming themselves” to call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. After moving in with her grandmother after her dad's death in 2009, the model/musician turned down a dark path. "I gained a lot of weight and food became an addiction," Jackson revealed during an episode of her Unfiltered: Paris Jackson & Gabriel Glenn series in June 2020. "And then a cousin called me fat and I was like, 'OK, I can't do that anymore.' And that's how I fell into self-harm." Jackson explained that she would physical hurt herself as a "distraction from emotional pain" and that she tried to take her own life "many times." While she continues to take "baby steps" on her journey to self-love, she admitted that she wants to be an advocate for "self-acceptance and courage and being comfortable in your own skin." The Oscar winner shared in July 2020 that she suffered from anxiety. “For me, my baseline has been I’m an introvert with asthma. Like, that’s been my story for myself. I’m introverted, I’m scared, I have social anxiety,” she explained in a YouTube video on her channel. “And through, in particular, playing Captain Marvel, that like kind of wiped clean those titles I had for myself and made me go, ‘Whoa, I’m not really that anymore.’” Shutterstock
Kelly Clarkson
“I suffer from depression,” the American Idol alum told Demi Lovato on The Kelly Clarkson Show in June 2020 in the midst of her divorce from Brandon Blackstock. “I think a lot of people, especially in the creative world, or just from childhood, you’ve been kind of trained to, like, just keep going and you can handle it. Especially as a woman, it’s like, ‘Don’t let ‘em see you sweat.’ ... I think that’s a daily thing that you work at and a daily thing that I work at.” YouTube
Selena Gomez
The “Rare” singer has been vocal about her struggles with depression and her mental health in the past, but she revealed in April 2020 that she has bipolar disorder. “Recently, I went to one of the best mental hospitals in the world … And I discussed that after years of going through a lot of different things I realized that I was bipolar,” Gomez admitted on Bright Minded: Live With Miley. “When I have more information, it actually helps me, it doesn’t scare me once I know it … When I finally said what I was going to say, I wanted to know everything about it and it took the fear away.”  The Disney Channel alum added, “When I was younger, I was scared of thunderstorms and my mom bought me all these books on thunderstorms and she was like, ‘The more you educate yourself on this, the more that you’re not going to be afraid.’ It completely worked. That’s something that helps me big time.” Willy Sanjuan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Taraji P. Henson
“I suffer from depression,” the Empire star said in an April 2019 interview with Variety. “My anxiety is kicking up even more every day, and I’ve never really dealt with anxiety like that. It’s something new.” Henson also revealed that she talks to a therapist regularly: “Their job is to make sure you’re mentally sound, whatever that is, and telling you the truth, which might hurt. Sometimes your friends don’t want to hurt your feelings. If I’m going to change for the better, I need honesty, and sometimes your friends and family don’t have it in them to be brutally honest.” In a December 2019 interview with SELF, Henson elaborated on the telltale signs that she needed help: “I noticed the mood swings — like, one day I’d be up, and the next day I’d be down, feeling like I don’t want to go out in public. Almost agoraphobic, like, ‘Ugh, too much to deal with.’ Feeling really awkward in my skin, feeling out of sorts, and just down, like Debbie Downer, like a dark cloud. And then there would be days where my brain wouldn’t stop racing. I would think of the worst scenarios in the world, which would heighten my anxiety.” Michael Loccisano/Getty Images
Kaitlyn Bristowe

Kristen Bell
During a revealing interview on Sunday Today With Willie Geist in November 2019, the Frozen 2 star opened up about feeling "incredibly irresponsible" for not being more honest about her mental health struggles in the past. “Everyone thinks there’s some shame in it ... I am someone who takes a medication for her anxiety and depression. I am someone who has to check myself and sometimes — if I’m feeling really low — make a checklist of good and bad things in my life to see if it’s my mental state or if we really have a problem. And me talking about that actually came from [my husband, Dax Shepard] — ugh, I hate to give him credit for everything, it’s so annoying that he’s so right about everything.” Rob Latour/Shutterstock

“I didn’t want to admit it,” the actress told Romper of her postpartum depression in November 2019. “It was that shame.” But after she opened up to her sister, husband and friends, they became her “support system.” She explained, “When I was sad or going through my emotions, I would talk about it. I knew it was an issue but didn’t know there was this extra whole other thing that was hindering my ability to have any peace in my life and my ability to deal with people.” imageSPACE for the Mill Valley Film Festival/Shutterstock

“Sadly, I separated from my lovely first husband [Tony Walton]. And separations were always inevitable and the marriage was over and my head was so full of clutter and garbage. Believe it or not, it was [director] Mike Nichols who really tipped me into wanting to go to therapy,” the Sound of Music star recalled on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in October 2019. “He had been, and he was, so sane and funny and clear. He had a clarity that I admired so much. I wanted that for myself. And I didn’t feel I had it, so I went and got into it, and it saved my life, in a way.” Jim Smeal/Shutterstock

“I deleted this post earlier, because honestly I’m personally struggling with my mental health right now, and the words I wrote fell flat when I read them,” the Bachelor alum captioned an October 2019 Instagram post. “How could I say these things to others when I didn’t/don’t believe them about myself? I deleted the post, walked to the room down the hall, opened the door, and told Tanner, ‘I’m not OK.’ Lean on those you love, ask for help. You are not a burden.” Roper went on to tell Us exclusively, “As much as there is so much joy [in motherhood], there’s so much extra that’s sometimes overwhelming. Talk to your loved ones. Let them know what you’re going through because there is help and there is hope.” Courtesy of Jade Roper/Instagram

Alanis Morissette
Two months after her son Winter’s August 2019 birth, the Grammy winner opened up about her third experience with postpartum depression. “PPD is still a sneaky monkey with a machete working its way through my psyche and body and days and thoughts and bloodwork levels,” Morissette wrote in a blog post. "[I've] been here before. ... The other side is greater than my PPD-riddled-temporarily-adjusted-brain could have ever imagined: as a mom, as an artist, as a wife, as a friend, as a collaborator, as a leader, as a boss, as an activist. I saw how things got richer after I came through it the last two times. I have my eye on that prize again even as I drag my ass through the molasses.” Courtesy of Alanis Morissette/Instagram

I could just be,” the Bless This Mess star said on "The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet" podcast in September 2019. “It was rational. I needed to just be Lake and I felt, finally like, I could breathe the air that Lake breaths, not like some other person that I don’t recognize.” Shutterstock
Delilah Belle Hamlin
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed to fans in an Instagram Story in June 2019 that she's been to rehab twice for depression. “I started attracting negative people into my life because my thoughts were so negative,” she wrote in the post. “I got trapped in a severely unhealthy relationship that pushed me over the edge. I couldn’t get out of the relationship because I thought I was deserving of it.” After asking mom Lisa Rinna for help, Hamlin said that she was able to get the care she needed at a facility: “I worked through traumas, and self love [sic],” she recalled. “But most importantly I learned what self respect [sic] meant.” Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic
James Middleton
Duchess Kate and Pippa Middleton’s younger brother, James, opened up about his depression to Tatler magazine in June 2019, explaining that his struggles were in part due to pressures to live up to his famous siblings. "Suddenly, and very publicly, I was being judged about whether I was a success or a failure,” he said. The entrepreneur, who had previously discussed his struggles with the Daily Mail in January, added of his depression, “It’s what keeps you in bed, while anxiety makes you feel guilty for being there. I thought, ‘What do I have to be depressed about?’ I’ve been so lucky with my upbringing, I had all the things I wanted. It’s not that I wanted more, but there was something that wasn’t always there ... And the more I ignored it, the more it was taking over.’” James said that after undergoing therapy and stepping back from his position at his company Boomf to spend time on brother-in-law James Matthews’ Scottish estate in Glen Affric, he is doing better: “I am happy – I feel like James Middleton again. I feel like I was when I was 13, excited about life. I feel like myself again and I couldn’t ask for more." Sebastian Reuter/Getty Images for GQ Germany
Halsey
In a July 2019 cover story in Rolling Stone, the “Without Me” singer, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, confessed that she’s been committed twice since taking on her alter ego of Halsey. “It’s been my choice,” she told the magazine. “I’ve said to [my manager], ‘Hey, I’m not going to do anything bad right now, but I’m getting to the point where I’m scared that I might, so I need to go figure this out.’ It’s still happening in my body. I just know when to get in front of it.” Halsey also revealed that her next album is the first one she’s ever written while experiencing mania due to her bipolar disorder, which she was diagnosed with at the age of 17. Sad af today. But this too shall pass." The next day, the Big Grrrl Small World artist posted a tear-filled video. "I used sadness so constructively in the last two years. ... I've used sadness as a tool for gratitude," she explained during her statement. The rapper continued her thoughts in the caption: "I learned in the last 24hrs that being emotionally honest can save your life. Life will be easier. All the woes will be away, all the problems. Then I wouldn't have to fail or succeed, right? Then all this surmounting pressure would go away,” she said. It doesn’t,” she says in the ad. “It doesn’t make you weak to ask for a friend to go to a therapist. It shouldn’t make you feel weak to ask anyone for help. And you should be able to ask anyone for help, everyone has to help someone if they need it.” Rich Fury/Getty Images for Coachella
Maisie Williams
The Game of Thrones star opened about her struggle with mental illness on the “Happy Place” podcast in May 2019. “Last year, in my own personal life, I think I just went through a lot of real revelations where I was like I'm not very happy doing this and pretending everything was fine,” Williams explained. “And so, that wasn't a public thing, but after going through that, now I've sort of tried to be a lot more genuine and it just becomes a lot more relaxing after that, I think. You just drop it all and that's when you can really have fun." Although the British actress has made strides in her mental health journey, she sometimes struggles. ”I still lay in bed at like eleven o'clock at night telling myself all the things I hate about myself,” she noted. “There's still a journey, I think. But at least dropping the act and just being who you truly are, I think that's definitely a first step; not trying to be who you want me to be right now in this moment.”  Charles McQuillan/Getty Images

I wasn’t feeling like myself and I couldn’t figure out why,” Sean said in a series of Instagram posts at the time. “I stepped back from everything I was doing, from everything I had going on because somewhere in the middle of it, I just felt lost. I started therapy. I got a good therapist. I was blessed enough to talk to some super spiritual people and they made me realize one thing that I was missing in my life. And one thing I was missing was clarity. In an interview with Playboy in 2008, the Fall Out Boy musician said his battle with depression had brought him close to death — on more than one occasion. "The list of drugs I've been prescribed would read like a grocery list," he explained of his mental health struggles. Once, he noted, he "took a handful of Ativan," though he insists he wasn't thinking of killing himself. "I've never really called it a suicide attempt," he said. The action star opened up about his bipolar disorder on the 2011 British reality show Behind Closed Doors, explaining his diagnosis 13 years earlier. "Sometimes you're gonna like me, and sometimes you're gonna hate me. But what can I do? I'm not perfect," he said. "I'm an extreme bipolar, and I'm taking medication for this...When I was young, I was suffering those swing moods. Ron Howard's actress daughter has been open about her struggle with postpartum depression following the February 2007 birth of her son, Theodore. "It went untreated for 18 months, because I was just so ashamed and frightened," she told Us Weekly in 2013 of that time in her life. "I didn't know what it meant and didn't know what happened to me...You can't raise kids alone, you can't heal alone — you really need a community." Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images

The Mad Men star had a lot of dark days after losing his father at age 20. "I was...unmoored by that," he told The Observer in 2010 of his dad's death. "I struggled with chronic depression. I was in bad shape." Therapy and antidepressants helped to pull him out and give him "another perspective." "You can change your brain chemistry enough to think, 'I want to get up in the morning, I don't want to sleep until four in the afternoon,'" he explained. Judd wrote about her struggle with depression in the autobiography All That Is Bitter & Sweet, which also details her abusive childhood. She sought help for her troubles in 2006 by checking into the Shades of Hope Treatment Center in Texas. "I was sick and tired of being sick and tired, and I just didn't know what was wrong with me," she said on the TODAY show. The actress told Parade magazine in 2007 that she had tried to commit suicide after her 1997 split from baseball player David Justice. "I was sitting in my car, and I knew the gas was coming when I had an image of my mother finding me," she said. That image saved her life. "She sacrificed so much for her children, and to end my life would be an incredibly selfish thing to do...My sense of worth was so low. I promised myself I would never be a coward again." “It’s something very close to my heart. I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression since I was 10 or 11 years old. So, I think it’s a huge topic,” the “Make Me Cry” singer said on The Late Late Show with James Corden in October 2019. “One of the things that I’ve always wanted to use this platform [for] was to talk about my mental health and help young adults all around America and everywhere in the world know that they’re not alone.” She added that she wasn’t going to let her mental illness “take over my life like it has been for all of these years. I want to be able to talk about it, raise awareness and let kids all around the world know they’re not alone.” Broadimage/Shutterstock

Everything Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello Have Said About Their Split

Posted: 06 Apr 2022 04:28 PM PDT

Working through it. Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have slowly opened up about their split after calling it quits in the fall of 2021.

The "Stitches" crooner and the former Fifth Harmony singer started out as friends in 2014 after they both opened up for Austin Mahone's tour. They collaborated on 2017's "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and later sparked romance speculation when they released their 2019 duet, "Señorita."

The pair seemingly confirmed that they were more than just friends in July 2019 after they were spotted making out in the ocean in Miami.

More than one year later, the twosome adopted a puppy while living together during the coronavirus pandemic. However, things fizzled out between the pair the following year.

The longtime friends announced their split in November 2021 via a joint statement, in which they explained that their "love for one another as humans is stronger than ever."

A source exclusively told Us Weekly later that month that the musicians "still have a ton of love and respect for each other" after parting ways.

"At this point they've decided they need a break from each other to evaluate where each of them are at. They're not saying never, just not now," the insider said at the time. "It does hurt, but they're both certain this is for the best."

The source noted that the attention "became overwhelming" for the duo, especially when they were "getting grilled on how serious they were and whether or not they were going to get engaged."

The "Summer of Love" crooner and the former X Factor contestant each released songs that appeared to address the split in the months that followed. It wasn't until March 2022, however, that either artist directly spoke out about the breakup.

"I honestly don't care," Mendes told Billboard in an interview published on March 14 when asked about his feelings regarding the intense scrutiny he and Cabello faced during their two-year romance.

He later admitted during a studio session that it took him a while before the breakup really hit him. "It's like, 'Oh, I'm on my own now,'" Mendes said via a Twitter video posted on March 18 when explaining the inspiration behind his new music. "You don't realize all the s–t that comes after [the initial split]."

A United Front
“Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever,” the pair wrote via a joint statement shared to their respective Instagram Stories in November 2021. “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward. Camila and Shawn.” Gustavo Caballero/South Beach Photo/Shutterstock
'It'll Be Okay'
Mendes seemingly commented on his recent split in his first single post-breakup, “It’ll Be Okay,” which he released in December 2021. “Are we gonna make it? / Is this gonna hurt?” he asked in the melancholy track. “We can try to sedate it / but that never works.” The Grammy nominee continued, “If you tell me you’re leaving / I’ll make it easy / It’ll be okay / If we can’t stop the bleeding / We don’t have to fix it / We don’t have to stay / I will love you either way.” Mendes added that “the future [they] dreamed of is fading to black,” and there was “nothing more painful.” David Fisher/Shutterstock
Nothing But Love
“As I get older, the priorities shift,” the “Havana” songstress said during a March 2022 interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “And I feel like that was that way for both of us. Because we both started so young too, it’s like we’re really learning how to be healthy adults.” She continued: “My priorities have fluctuated and my focus has changed throughout my life. Those years that we were dating … even while I was writing this album, [Familia], and even still now, I guess my focus is really on, ‘How can I be a well-rounded person?'” Cabello added, “For me, I love Shawn and I feel like there is literally nothing but love for him.” John Angelillo/UPI/Shutterstock
'Bam Bam'
Cabello released her own fresh track in March 2022 called “Bam Bam.” When speaking about her Ed Sheeran collaboration, the Cuban singer seemed to confirm that the song was about her past with Mendes. “This song is mostly just about like, ‘OK, how do I make a song that shows the cycles of love and life and … hopefully this can make you kinda be like, ‘It is that way now, but things are always taking, you know, crazy turns,’” she told Apple Music host Lowe that month. Broadimage/Shutterstock
Things You Don't Realize
“A lot of the thing[s] that [are] also resonating in the lyric for me is like, ‘Oh f–k,’ you don’t realize … When you’re, like, breaking up with someone and you think it’s the right thing. You don’t realize all the s--t that comes after it,” Mendes said in March 2022 via a social media clip from his studio sessions, referring to the new music he penned after his split from Cabello. The Canadian crooner continued: “Which is like, ‘Who do I call when I’m in a panic attack? Who do I call when I’m f–king on the edge?’ And I think that’s the reality that kind of hit. It’s like, ‘Oh, I’m on my own now.’ Now I feel like, finally, I’m actually on my own and I hate that, you know? That’s my reality.” Jason Merritt/Radarpics/Shutterstock
The Inspiration
"I wrote this song about a month after Camila and I broke up," Mendes told Extra of his single "When You're Gone," which dropped in April 2022. "A month later, you kind of start having all the memories of things that happened, and all the memories of so many amazing things. ... And I was writing about that." Mendes said he wanted to be as "open and candid" as possible with his fans. "I'm really glad I did," he added. "Because I think that's the only way that you get to you get to connect with people. There's only one way you can connect with actual people in a real way. And that's by being truthful and being vulnerable. ... If you can kind of reel people in with the sonic of the song, then they'll be listening on their own time, maybe. And then the lyrics will maybe head a little deeper." Cabello even got a heads-up about the track. "Camila and I have always been writers for as long as we've known each other, so we understand what that means," Mendes said. "And we respect what that means. And there'll always be transparency between us." Shutterstock (2)
Giving Grace
In April 2022, the Canadian singer spoke about giving himself "grace" as he copes with his breakup. "I think a big one for me was realizing that there's so many people in my life that I can rely on," he said on Sirius XM's The Morning Mash Up, adding that he doesn't want to be "too hard" on himself post-split. "I don't just have to put all of my, you know, hardship onto one person." Mendes also confessed that meditation has been a big help for him, noting, "I think the thing that I don't touch on enough is how extreme my anxiety was at one point in my life and my anxiety was completely controlling my life. ... Truly the one thing that changed my life and changed the trajectory of my life was meditation." Stephen Lovekin/Shutterstock
The Future
During an interview in April 2022, Mendes noted that he wouldn't rule out appearing in a future performance with his ex-girlfriend. "I wouldn't be surprised. I wouldn't put it past us," he told Ryan Seacrest about the former couple's plans to make cameos during each other's sets at iHeartRadio's upcoming Wango Tango concert. "I've loved Camila for so many years, and that's never going to change." Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock
So in Love for ‘So Many Years’
"I loved Camila first for so many years and that’s never gonna change," Mendes told Ryan Seacrest in April 2022, noting that he and the "Havana" singer are still "so friendly." Sara Jaye Weiss/Shutterstock
‘Cathartic’ Breakup Songs
The "Mercy" singer also old Seacrest that his new track, "When You're Gone," has helped him heal from his breakup with Cabello. “I think it’s really just the processing and ... the complexities of knowing something is better and still wanting to hold on and all the reasons why,” he explained. “I’m really glad to be able to just be real and authentic with my music because it’s cathartic for me too, to be able to write about these things.”For her part, the "Crying in the Club" singer made similar comments about how songwriting is healing for her, telling Entertainment Tonight: "For me, my process is really cathartic. It’s me kind of singing anything that I think about and feel into a microphone ... I do that for like 25 minutes, and then me and my collaborators talk about it. ... We brainstorm, we fill it in and then that becomes a song.” Shutterstock (2)
Advice From Mom
"I started writing ['Bam Bam'] with my collaborators a few months back and we had this chorus idea about what it's been like in my late teens and early 20s falling in and out of love and ups and downs of that,” Cabello told ET in April 2022. “Also reminding myself, as my mom has told me many times, 'That's life.’ You're on the ground crying on the bathroom floor and then you'll have feelings for another person again, and you'll be crying on the bathroom floor again. And that is the cycle of change. Things just change, you never know what's around the corner." Gustavo Caballero/South Beach Photo/Shutterstock

"They’re definitely together," a source exclusively tells Us of the model, 30, and the What Do You Meme? founder, noting they were recently spotted at LAX airport “canoodling” earlier this month. "They were hand-in-hand the whole time. His arm was on the small of her back. She seemed super happy."

The insider adds that the twosome's romance is still “relatively new."

While the duo have not publicly addressed their budding connection, Kaplan is a successful businessman in his own right, launching the popular card game, What Do You Meme?, in 2016.

"We kind of all have our role in the company, which I think makes us really efficient," Kaplan told ABC News in September 2016. "So all content decisions Elliot [Tebele] takes care of and anything that involves being really smart Ellie [Ballas] takes care of. He graduated from Stanford with a major in symbolic systems, which is like the hardest major in the world, and then all the easy stuff I do, so together we each have our role."

The Denmark native's relationship with Kaplan comes less than five months after she and Christie Brinkley's son, 26, went their separate ways.

Us previously confirmed that Agdal and the Rove founder, who she had been dating since 2017, had split in November 2021 after four years together.

"Everything is good," the Agdal Method founder previously told Us in September 2019 of their romance. "Oh, my God, well, we're not perfect. No relationship is perfect, but I think we just have a really sincere love for each other, and we support each other, we respect each other and we just love you each other!"

Agdal and Brinkley Cook first sparked dating speculation in July 2017 amid her split from Leonardo DiCaprio. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and the Oscar winner, 47, dated for nearly one year until calling it quits in May 2017.

While Agdal has remained relatively coy about her love life, she knows exactly what she is looking for in a potential partner.

"If we have the same humor, we're definitely going to get along and you will have a sweet spot in my heart," she told magazine in November 2016. "[Because] I love people that can laugh in good situations, bad situations and I just love weirdness. I'm all about embracing that!"

She continued: "I think it all comes down to a solid, good-hearted, smart, funny and happy man because if you have all of that, that's all I want. So, I think you would be on the same page. [It's] pretty simple."

RHONY's Leah McSweeney: I Was 'Struggling' With Depression Last Season

Posted: 06 Apr 2022 03:59 PM PDT

What viewers didn't see. Real Housewives of New York star Leah McSweeney exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about how being on a new medication for depression affected her during season 13 — and why she wishes fans would have known.

"Season 13 wasn’t the easiest," the Chaos Theory author, 39, tells Us. "I was dealing with my grandmother’s death. I was dealing with COVID, you know, depression, just like a lot of other people were."

While the Married to the Mob designer doesn't "have any regrets" about the season, which ended in August 2021 and was filmed during the pandemic, she would have liked for her "struggle" to find the right depression medication to air as part of her story line.

"I was … struggling with the medication that I was on, and I was put on a different medication for my depression," she explains to Us. "I talked about it, but like, it didn’t get picked up to follow the story of it."

McSweeney added that it might have been "better to just be like, 'This is what’s going on with me. And I feel like crap right now, and I’m trying some different antidepressants.'"

The reality star also noted that the subject matter would have been relatable to viewers, as everyone was dealing with the tragedy of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly amid quarantine.

"I think a lot of people could have related to it because like, who wasn’t [having a difficult time]?" she asked. "We were living in like, a ghost land in the city. And it was such a weird thing to go out outside and [see that] the streets are empty. Like, it just does something to your soul."

The fashion designer was "distraught over it," she said of the ongoing pandemic. "And at the same time, trying to film the show and … this is supposed to be funny and entertaining, but I’m not really feeling funny or feeling like entertaining people."

McSweeney, who has been sober from alcohol for two years, revealed that all of these hardships made her "want to drink" — but she abstained.

The fashion designer has starred on RHONY since joining the cast in 2020 for season 12. In her two short seasons on the show, fans have seen the drama play out when it comes to her (past) drinking, her feud with Ramona Singer and her relationship with her mother.

When discussing the idea of RHONY being split into two different shows, McSweeney — who shares 14-year-old daughter Kier with ex-partner Rob Cristofaro — initially hesitated at the notion of being on one of them.

"I think it would depend which one and who’s on it and you know, all that," she told Us, though she quickly confirmed that she would join if asked.

Mixing family with business! Many famous families have several actors in them — and some of those relatives have gone on to share the screen together.

Robbie Amell, who worked with his cousin Stephen Amell on projects like The Flash, previously explained how they looked too alike to share scenes with one another.

"It's tough, we're pretty similar in look. We're not going to play related," Robbie told Entertainment Weekly in December 2019. "That was part of the reason they wouldn't let [our characters] talk to each other on The Flash, they were like, 'It's too weird. People know you're related, you can't talk to each other.'

Robbie and Stephen would later go on to work together on their crowd-funded film, Code 8.

“Part of it was we just needed to create something for ourselves. We figured if we weren't willing to take a bet on ourselves, then why should we expect anyone else to?” Robbie explained to EW. “We wanted to give it a shot and make something that we would be proud of, something that people backing us would be proud of."

Not all family members want to work on the same projects though, including Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal, who were reluctant to team up. Richard Kelly previously spoke about having to talk Maggie into taking the role in Donnie Darko alongside her brother.

“Immediately, she was like, ‘Richard, you’re only offering this to me because I’m Jake’s big sister. You should be finding the best actress for the role,'” the director told Vox in April 2017. “So she was already trying to talk me out of casting her, in a very selfless way. And I was just really impressed by that … So I was really determined to convince her to do it after that.”

The film wouldn’t be what it was without the brother-sister dynamic that Maggie and Jake brought to their roles.

“Maggie was really an essential piece of the puzzle that makes that family dynamic work in the film,” Kelly added. “I’m grateful that she agreed to do the role.”

Dave Franco also went out of his way not to work with his brother James Franco earlier on in his career.

“For a while, I made a conscious decision not to work with him, just because I wanted to pave my own path,” Dave said during an interview with Variety in November 2017. “I didn’t want to be referred to as ‘James Franco’s little brother’ for the rest of my life. But we have very similar sensibilities.”

'Some Like It Hot’ and 'Yentl' Star Nehemiah Persoff Dead at 102

Posted: 06 Apr 2022 02:44 PM PDT

Always in our hearts. Hollywood mourned the loss of icons such as Betty White and John Madden in the final days of 2021 — and unfortunately, 2022 also came with celebrity deaths that have fans reeling.

The sports world lost a football great in Dan Reeves who passed away on January 1. The 77-year-old Georgia native appeared in nine Super Bowls during his career — winning once as a player and once as an assistant coach.

As one of the winningest coaches in the league's history, his loss was felt near and far. "The football world lost a heckuva coach and man today in Dan Reeves," former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway said in a statement on January 1. "Dan was a winner and I owe a lot to him. My heart goes out to Pam and the entire Reeves family."

One day later, the Christian music industry lost a beloved musician Jay Weaver. His former Big Daddy Weave bandmate and brother, Mike Weaver, confirmed his passing following COVID-19 complications. Jay was 42.

"Thank you so much for all your prayers for my brother," Mike said in a statement on January 2, after Jay was hospitalized with the virus a few days prior. "You have walked with him through a huge fight, and I'm so sorry to bring this news but I'm also excited to celebrate where he is right now. My brother Jay went to be with Jesus just a couple hours ago due to complications due to COVID-19 on top of everything else that he already had going on."

He continued: “The Lord used [Jay] in such a might way out on the road for so many years … I believe even though COVID may have taken his last breath, Jesus was right there to catch him. My heart’s broke for my family, but we all just really wanted to thank you for walking with us through so much for so long.”

On January 5, the Korean film world mourned the death of a young star in Kim Mi-soo, who passed away at age 29.

"Kim suddenly left us on January 5," the late performer's agency, Landscape Entertainment, said in a statement translated by the publication Korea JoongAng Daily. "The bereaved are deep in their sorrow at the sudden sadness. Please refrain from reporting false rumors or speculation so that the family can mourn in peace."

The Seinfeld alum and Toy Story voice actress died of natural causes at age 93. “It is with the greatest remorse and sadness to announce that Estelle Harris has passed on this evening at 6:25 p.m.,” her son Glen Harris told Deadline in a statement on April 2. “Her kindness, passion, sensitivity, humor, empathy and love were practically unrivaled, and she will be terribly missed by all those who knew her. Her passion was her work and her work was her passion.” Tony DiMaio/Startraks
Paul Herman
The actor, known for his work on The Sopranos and in Martin Scorsese's The Irishman, died on March 29. It was his 76th birthday. Soccer Star Hope Solo and Jerramy Stevens' Relationship Ups and Downs

Posted: 06 Apr 2022 01:49 PM PDT

All is fair in love and sports! Hope Solo and Jerramy Stevens have weathered many storms during their romance — including multiple arrests between them — but they're still going strong.

The former Team USA goalkeeper and the retired NFL player first crossed paths while they were both student athletes at the University of Washington. Their romantic relationship, however, didn't blossom until they were well established in their careers — Solo was a soccer star while Stevens played for the Seattle Seahawks.

The duo's whirlwind romance surprised some as they decided to tie the knot two months after reconnecting in fall 2012. What drew even more eyes, however, was their headline-making fight the night before their wedding.

"We thought everyone could just be happy for us," Solo told Elle in 2019, reflecting on the couple's run-in with the cops before their nuptials. "It was dumb."

The three-time Olympian explained that police were called to her home at 4 a.m. after her and Stevens’ "asshole brothers" got into an argument. When the cops arrived on scene, Solo was bleeding, so her then-fiancé was arrested for alleged domestic violence.

Following the misunderstanding, Stevens was released from jail without being charged, and the pair moved forward with the ceremony. "It was the most triumphant day," Solo recalled to Elle.

Unfortunately, the stigma surrounding the couple didn't subside as quickly. In the years that followed, Solo and Stevens both had their own setbacks when it came to the law and sports.

The Washington native was suspended from the U.S. Women's national soccer team in 2015 shortly after her husband was arrested for a DUI in Los Angeles. Stevens was sentenced to 30 days in jail, four years of probation and required to enroll in an alcohol program after pleading no contest to the misdemeanor DUI charges.

The following year, Solo's athletic career came to a halt after she said the Swedish Olympic team played like "a bunch of cowards" during the 2016 Rio Games quarterfinals in which Team USA lost. Her remarks led to the U.S. Soccer Federation terminating her contract.

After hanging up her cleats, Solo and Stevens faced more heartbreak in 2018 when she suffered a miscarriage of twins. Two years later, the couple's luck appeared to turn around when they welcomed twins, one boy and one girl.

"We're so grateful for all the love and support from family, friends, nurses and doctors even when our babies are more familiar with masks and Zoom calls than we are!" Solo captioned an Instagram tribute in March 2021 in honor of her little one's first birthday. "We feel the love, they feel the love, and every day has been as exhausting as it was rewarding."

One year later, the family was back in the limelight but for a very different reason. Solo was arrested in March 2022 for a DWI while her kids were in the car. The case is ongoing.

Solo later released a statement to Us via her attorney, claiming that she would never harm her children. “She wants everyone to know that her kids are her life, that she was released immediately and is now at home with her family, that the story is more sympathetic than the initial charges suggest, and that she looks forward to her opportunity to defend these charges,” the lawyer said at the time. The former U.S. soccer player, 40, was caught allegedly driving under the influence on Thursday, March 31, in North Carolina. According to a report from the Winston-Salem Police Department, exclusively obtained by Us Weekly, a passerby noticed Solo had been “passed out behind [the] wheel for over [one] hour” before her arrest. The engine was reportedly running. When authorities woke her up, they allegedly noticed the scent of alcohol on her breath and that her eyes were red.

Solo refused to participate in field sobriety tests after attempting to contact a third party, and a search warrant was issued to obtain blood samples within 48 hours of her arrest. Us previously confirmed that the Dancing With the Stars alum was charged with impaired driving and resisting arrest. Because her 2-year-old twins, Lozen and Vittorio, were in the vehicle, she was also booked on misdemeanor child abuse.

The Solo: A Memoir of Hope author shares the infants with husband Jerramy Stevens. After she was released from police custody, the retired athlete broke her silence on her arrest via Instagram.

“For those who have reached out showing love and support, thank you. Our family is strong and surrounded with love,” she wrote on Sunday, April 3. “Our kids are strong, intelligent, happy and vibrant, and we are present everyday giving them the best life possible. We will be able to share the facts in due time.”

The Washington native continued: “In the meantime, our kids are enjoying the NC sun, eating popsicles and playing on our property. Life can be tough, but these are truly the moments that matter. I feel blessed to have this kind of love in my life.”

Her attorney, Rich Nichols, previously told Us in a statement: “On the advice of counsel, Hope can’t speak about this situation. But she wants everyone to know that her kids are her life, that she was released immediately and is now at home with her family, that the story is more sympathetic than the initial charges suggest, and that she looks forward to her opportunity to defend these charges.” (Us reached out for comment on the additional claims in the police report.)

A hearing has been scheduled for June 28. Per the police report, the Olympic gold medalist‘s release was contingent on there being “a sober and responsible adult who will take responsibility for the defendant until 11:00am on Friday, April 1, 2022 and upon executing a written promise to appear in court.”

Solo played for the U.S. National Women’s Soccer Team from 2000 to 2016. Three years after her contract was terminated, the former goalkeeper told AP that she had no regrets about her career.

“I will tell you that I am really happy where I am in life, that I fulfilled everything that I wanted to fulfill on the field,” she said in May 2019. “If I would have retired without a World Cup trophy, I think I never would have been able to settle into my new lifestyle. But luckily we won that 2015 World Cup and I was able to win a couple of Golden Gloves, which was a personal goal of mine, and a couple of gold medals. I hold almost every goalkeeping record. I am not sure there is much more that I could have done.”

From ‘Full House’ to Hallmark! Candace Cameron Bure Through the Years

Posted: 06 Apr 2022 12:44 PM PDT

A '90s icon turned timeless treasure! Candace Cameron Bure has conquered the optimum work-life balance, from raising three kids with husband Valeri Bure to taking on a TV revival and a slew of feel-good movies.

The actress obviously has the momentum to keep multiple plates in the air. After all, she has been in the public eye since she was a child.

Following her starring turn as D.J. Tanner on Full House, Candace took a break from the spotlight to focus on her personal life. She married Valeri in 1996 and later welcomed daughter Natasha, and sons Lev and Maksim.

The California native returned in full force with her first Hallmark Channel Christmas movie in 2008. She would soon become a staple in the network's romantic comedies.

Candace did not stop there either. She went on to appear on Dancing With the Stars, cohost The View and write several books.

The Some Kind of Wonderful star earned the chance of a lifetime in 2016 when she reprised her role as D.J. alongside Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner), Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler), Scott Weinger (Steve Hale), Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), John Stamos (Jesse Katsopolis), Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone) and Lori Loughlin (Becky Katsopolis) in Netflix's Full House revival, Fuller House.

Candace knew not to take the job for granted. "We just love one another and the show is so fun," she told Us Weekly exclusively in November 2019. "I think that aside from the love and the friendships that we've had for 30 years, the show is fun. I laugh and I'm like, 'This is my job. I get to sing and dance and be goofy and silly and put on costumes and entertain families,' and I love it. It's been a great legacy to be a part of it and I'm very proud of it."

As her career remained as vital as ever, the former child star ended up with an empty nest after her children left home. "We stay very connected by phone and by FaceTime and then meet up when we can," she explained to Us in September 2019. "We work it out. I think the hardest balance is just for me not to over work [with them gone], which can be my tendency, and just make sure that even though not everyone is at home, we're still making time for one another."

Daniel Radcliffe: My Celeb Crushes Are Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore

Posted: 06 Apr 2022 12:40 PM PDT

Hollywood heartthrobs! Celebrities are just like Us — they get crushes on famous folks and can become starstruck when they see certain stars.

Amy Adams admitted in November 2020 that after watching old movies starring Robert De Niro, including The Godfather and The Deer Hunter, she got a "retroactive crush" on the actor.

"Meaning, like, I have a crush on him in the ’70s,” the American Hustle actress told Jimmy Kimmel at the time. “I mean, not that I wouldn’t have a crush on him now, but you know, I’m married.”

Before finding love with Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner revealed she tried to pick up Friends alum Matthew Perry. The Game of Thrones alum opened up about the experience in June 2019, saying that after she spotted Perry rehearsing for a play next to her house in 2016, she began frequenting the local grocery store nearby to get a glimpse of him and make her move.

"I would walk around the corner every day and I would see Matthew Perry smoking a cigarette," she recalled during a "#BehindTheTweets" interview with Twitter. "And I bought a lighter from Budgens [store] so that I could walk up to him and offer to light his cigarette. [Unfortunately] it was already lit, so, that was just embarrassing."

Olympian Simone Biles, on the other hand, fell hard for Zac Efron well before she won a gold medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

Biles gushed to Us Weekly in August of that year about her crush on the High School Musical star before meeting him in Rio weeks later while doing an interview on the Today show.

"On cloud 9 @zacefron," the athlete captioned a GIF of herself kissing the actor on the cheek after their surprise meeting. Biles then tweeted a series of photos with the Baywatch star, writing, "He kissed me on the cheek just letting y'all know."

Crushes are not limited to loving someone from afar. Emma Watson, who played Hermione in the Harry Potter franchise, revealed that she was smitten with her costar Tom Felton (who played Draco Malfoy) early on in their friendship.

"For the first two movies, I had a huge crush on Tom Felton. He was my first crush," the Beauty and the Beast star told Seventeen in June 2011. "He totally knows. We talked about it — we still laugh about it. We are really good friends now, and that's cool."

Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon
The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actor admitted during a December 2021 appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show that his childhood celeb crush was his Sing 2 costar Reese Witherspoon. “I had a bit of a crush on the young lady sitting to the left of me,” he said of the Big Little Lies alum, who joined him for the interview. “[Reese] was one of my early, early crushes and if you’ve seen [1991’s The Man on the Moon] it’s inevitable. What’s not to have a crush on?” Shutterstock (2)
Dax Shepard and Daniel Ricciardo
The host of the “Armchair Expert” podcast revealed in a November 2021 interview with Ellen DeGeneres that after years of crushing on Brad Pitt, he had a new man in his life: Australian Formula One driver, Daniel Ricciardo. After Ricciardo appeared on an episode of “Armchair Expert,” he said the two of them "kind of hit it off." Shepard joked that he “pushed hard, got a phone number” and now they’re inseparable. “We've just really been building this thing that's culminated in us seeing the world together, really,” The Ranch alum said. His wife, Kristen Bell, was very much on board. "They're really cute. I fully support this," she told DeGeneres. Shutterstock (2)
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard
The Frozen star admitted that she only has eyes for one celeb: her husband, Dax Shepard. "Isn't he a hunk? Look at this guy!" Bell gushed about Shepard’s muscular frame during a November 2021 episode of the Ellen DeGeneres Show. "Now he's a big boy. I've got no complaints!" Shepard quickly returned the compliment. "I don't want to objectify you, but we are married,” he told Bell. “Look at the buns! This outfit, I couldn't get my eyes off. Look at the buns!" Shutterstock (2)
Cardi B and Robert Pattinson
The “WAP” rapper bumped into the Twilight star at a November 2021 event in Beverly Hills — and couldn’t control herself. "Look who I met the other day!" she wrote via Twitter. "I felt like a teen!" The proof of Cardi's fangirling is in the video she shared, which shows her introducing Pattinson as “her friend” before she starts screaming. All he could do was smile. Shutterstock (2)
Selena Gomez and Chris Evans
The Rare Beauty founder shared her crush on the Captain America: The Winter Soldier star during a 2015 interview on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “I kind of have a crush on Chris Evans. Isn't he cute? He's very cute," Gomez noted during the late-night appearance when she was asked about her love life. After Cohen noted that Evans' brother bartended on WWHL one week earlier, she excitedly added, “Really? Last week? Maybe it’s meant to be.” The Disney Channel alum and the MCU star later sparked romance speculation in October 2021 after social media fans noticed the pair were spotted at the same Los Angeles locations around the same time. Dolly Parton and Jimmy Fallon
The “Jolene” singer told W Magazine in October 2021 that she’s “always had good luck with late-night guys,” which might explain her crush on the host of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.  "Well, I have a crush on Jimmy Fallon, but I'm big now, I can't excuse myself on that!" the 9 to 5 actress joked, adding, "I think he is precious. He's so funny. We get along so good." That closeness she shares with the Saturday Night Live alum might have something to do with the hours he keeps. "I guess there's something about those late-night people that kinda hits my fancy and I hit theirs somehow,” the country music icon explained. “I guess it's 'cause you feel like you can be more free late at night. You don't have to worry about what you say." Gregory Pace/Shutterstock; Photo Image Press/Shutterstock
Elizabeth Olsen and Frank Sinatra
The Wandavision star told W magazine in August 2021 about her childhood crush on the famed musician. “I loved classic musicals, and I was in love with Frank Sinatra,” Olsen told the outlet. “I would do scenes with him in my bathroom, which then turned into scenes with George Clooney as I got older and I realized Frank Sinatra was an old man. I was like, ‘Well, maybe if I get older, I can at least work with George Clooney, as his daughter’s friend or something, and then we have a thing.’” Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock; Snap/Shutterstock
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly
In a July 2021 GQ profile, Machine Gun Kelly (real name Colson Baker) dished about all of his dreams coming true — and not just because of the musical accolades he's earned, but because of the lucky lady on his arm during all the red carpets.  The GQ writer, Wesley Lowery, attended high school with the “Bloody Valentine” rapper and reminisced that his old friend long admired the New Girl alum, explaining that Baker was “the teenager who got the Decepticons logo from Transformers tattooed on his arm and hung a poster of Megan Fox in his bedroom.” Baker confirmed that the aforementioned poster was from a GQ shoot that Fox had done at the time, calling this interview “some full-circle s--t.” ABC/Shutterstock; Broadimage/Shutterstock
Emma Stone and Leonardo DiCaprio
Stone's favorite memory of winning best actress at the 2017 Academy Awards was receiving the trophy from her childhood crush. "That was what was going through my mind ‘cause it was him. ... I'd seen Titanic seven and a half times in theaters. He was the love of my life," she said during an interview on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show in May 2021. "I had a picture of him in my bedroom that was signed, that I had gotten for my birthday when I was like 12 years old. I was walking to Leo and I was like, 'This is officially the most surreal moment of my life.' I could not believe it." She added: "I think he probably thinks I'm like a little weird, ‘cause whenever I see him, I'm kind of like, 'Hey, how's it going?' You know, just in little moments, either at the same event or something. He's very sweet though. But that was truly — that was what was the craziest experience was the fact that it was him." Amy Adams and Robert De Niro
The Sharp Objects alum revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in November 2020 that she got a “retroactive crush” on De Niro after watching his older films for the first time, including The Godfather and The Godfather Part II. “I have a crush on him in the '70s," she said. "I mean, not that I wouldn't have a crush on him now, but you know, I'm married." After Kimmel joked that having a crush on the actor “in the ‘70s” and not on him “in his 70s,” Adams noted that she hasn’t ruled De Niro out based on age just yet. "I mean, I'm open to having a crush on him in his 70s. I think that could happen,” she added. Shutterstock (2)
Chelsea Handler and Andrew Cuomo
The comedian joked that she wanted the New York governor to "govern" her in a June 2020 Instagram comment. Four months later, she called him a "big, Italian hunk" on The View and revealed that she had asked him on a date. "He did say yes. And then I never heard from him," she claimed. Sam Smith and Shia LeBeouf
The “Dancing With a Stranger” singer has their eyes set on the Transformers star! Smith revealed their celebrity crush on LeBeouf during an interview with SiriusXM’s Hits 1 in December 2019. “Do you know who came up on my phone last night? Shia LaBeouf,” the British musician said. “He’s so fit. He turns me on.” The “How Do You Sleep?” singer revealed the one reason the actor will probably stay their crush and not a real romance, noting, “I don’t think he’s gay. But I’ll be happy to be his first.” Shutterstock (2)
Noah Schnapp and Zendaya
Stranger things have happened! The Netflix star has taken a shining to Spider-Man: Far From Home’s Zendaya. In July 2019, he bluntly told Wired magazine, “I like Zendaya.” This wasn’t his first public admission either. He shouted her out from the podium during his acceptance speech at the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards when he won for Most Frightened Performance. “Hi, Zendaya!” he beamed in June 2018. The actor finally met Zendaya for the first time at the 2019 People’s Choice Awards in October 2019. "I just … I remember seeing her in the corner of my eye and walking up to her," he recalled on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in March 2020. "And I was really, really nervous and I was like, ‘Oh, my God. It's actually her. This is the first time I'm meeting her.' And she smelled great. And she was so … she was so cute and she was, like, towered over me and she, like, bent down and she was like, ‘Hi, Noah,' with her little squeaky voice. Yeah, I remember everything." achel Murray/Getty Images for Netflix; Kristy Sparow/Getty Images for Lancome
Sophie Turner and Matthew Perry
Turner revealed in a Twitter Movie in June 2019 that she once tried to pick up the Friends alum by offering him a light while he was rehearsing a play near her home. "Every day... I would see Matthew Perry smoking a cigarette. And I bought a lighter from Budgens so that I could walk up to him and offer to light his cigarette. And it was already lit, so, that was just embarrassing,” she confessed in the clip. The Dark Phoenix star said she later tweeted about her run-in with the actor, but to little avail. “I thought he might see this tweet and then, I don’t know, reach out to me, and ask me on a date or something, but he didn’t," she said. Jennifer Lawrence and Timothée Chalamet
The Hunger Games star, 27 at the time, made her love for the then 22-year-old actor — who she called “so, so talented and hot” — known in February 2018. “Timothée, I’m waiting for him to get a little bit older, you know?” she admitted to Entertainment Tonight. “[I’m] buttering him up like a pig for slaughter, and then I’m going to swing right in there as soon as he’s, like, 30. He’s old enough to say that, right? He’s over 18? What if I was like, ‘He’s hot!’ and he’s 15?” aylor Hill/FilmMagic;Kevin Mazur/Wireimage
Meryl Streep and Will Ferrell
Forget Ryan Gosling! The three-time Oscar winner revealed that she prefers Will Ferrell. “The movie that makes me cry is Anchorman,” Streep told W in January 2015. “I have the biggest crush on Will Ferrell. I love him in every film he does. I mean, Ryan Gosling could be my child. I’m not going to have a crush on a child. Will Ferrell is a man.” Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic;Mike Marsland/WireImage
Matthew McConaughey and Susan Sarandon
Step aside, men! McConaughey had his eyes on Sarandon in June 2013. “Susan Sarandon is still to this day one of the sexiest women,” he told W at the time. “You know what it is? Susan’s got those pores. [They] are large. Like, woman comes out of her and honesty comes out of her. I just find her sort of very crushable.” Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images; Chance Yeh/Getty Images
Emma Watson and Tom Felton
Hermione and … Draco?! Turns out, Watson was smitten with Felton early in filming for the Harry Potter franchise. “For the first two movies, I had a huge crush on Tom Felton. He was my first crush,” the actress admitted to Seventeen in June 2011. “He totally knows. We talked about it — we still laugh about it. We are really good friends now, and that’s cool.” Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images; Frazer Harrison/Getty Images
Adam Rippon and Shawn Mendes
The Olympian shared his affection for the singer during a March 2018 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I used to have a really big crush on Harry Styles, but here’s the thing: I was sleeping on Shawn Mendes,” the figure skater said. “Not literally, but I didn’t realize how cute he was … I know Harry will be upset, but … love is a funny thing.” The athlete met Mendes days later at an Oscars afterparty. Helen Mirren and Vin Diesel
Mirren publicly declared her love for Diesel long before the two costarred in 2017’s The Fate of the Furious. “I’m a huge fan of Vin Diesel,” the Oscar winner admitted during an April 2015 appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. “It came from me watching him make a speech once at some ceremony. He was just so smart and so funny and so cool, and I just sort of fell a little bit in love with him right there and then. Vin, I love you. I love you, Vin. You don’t know who I am, but I still love you.” John Shearer/Getty Images; Kevin Mazur/Getty Images
Nicole Kidman and Jimmy Fallon
The comedian didn’t know about Kidman’s crush on him until years later when she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for the first time. “I just remember I liked you. … And you didn’t talk at all,” the Oscar winner said in January 2015 of their set-up. “So after about an hour and a half, I thought, ‘He has no interest. This is so embarrassing.’ So I left and went, ‘OK, no chemistry. Maybe he’s gay!’” Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images; Gerardo Mora/FilmMagic
Cole Sprouse and Jennifer Aniston
The Riverdale actor has spoken frequently about his childhood crush on his Friends costar. “I had a really, really hard time working with Aniston because I was so in love with her,” Sprouse told the New York Post in an interview published in March 2017. “I was infatuated. I was speechless — I’d get all bubbly and forget my lines and completely blank. It was so difficult.” Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic; razer Harrison/Getty Images
Simone Biles and Zac Efron
Efron is a popular celebrity crush. In fact, Biles told Us Weekly in August 2016, “I have such a crush on Zac Efron.” Weeks later, a dream came true when the High School Musical star traveled to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to surprise the athlete. Bella Thorne and Kristen Stewart

Diane Keaton and Channing Tatum
Keaton revealed during a May 2015 sit-down on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she would like to tie the knot with Tatum, who at the time was married to Jenna Dewan. “Channing Tatum is actually married to someone else … not me?” the First Wives Club actress exclaimed. Dylan O'Brien and Chloë Grace Moretz
The Maze Runner star first gushed over Moretz in June 2011. “I wanna give a special shout-out to Chloë Moretz because she is the most badass little chick that I’ve ever seen,” he told Hollywire. “What she did in Kick-Ass was amazing, and I have a crush on her.” O’Brien took his statements back when he realized she was 14 and he was 19 at the time. Everything Nick, Vanessa Lachey Have Said About His Jessica Simpson Divorce

Posted: 06 Apr 2022 12:25 PM PDT

All in the past. Vanessa and Nick Lachey have been married for over a decade, but they’re not afraid to reminisce about the beginning of their relationship — which began shortly after Nick’s divorce from Jessica Simpson.

The NCIS: Hawai’i star and the 98 Degrees singer bumped into each other several times while they both had shows on MTV, but their first real connection happened after Nick split from the “With You” singer in November 2005.

"Nick and I knew each other in passing because we both worked at MTV," Vanessa explained during a February 2020 interview with Tamron Hall. "He would come on the show to promote his album or anything he was doing at the time, and I was there working on TRL. We would just catch up and we would just talk and hang out. And then when he was single and I was single … he asked me to be in his music video."

The Dancing With the Stars alum appeared in clips for Nick’s song “What’s Left of Me,” which debuted in April 2006. Before they met up to film the video, however, the duo spent “hours a day” talking on the phone. When they reunited in person on set, Vanessa said she got “butterflies” from seeing him again.

In her memoir, Open Book, Simpson admitted that she was hurt when her ex-husband moved on so quickly after their breakup. When Nick’s romance with Vanessa began, his divorce from the Texas native was still not finalized.

“So, Nick, you’re with another already? Seems that you forgot the love you spoke to me,” the fashion designer wrote in diary entries included in the paperback edition of the book, released in March 2021. “I’m saddened beyond belief. Alone in the dark, with no one to call my own.”

Though Simpson was disappointed at the time, she later said she was happy to see that her ex had moved on and started a family. The Masked Singer winner and his wife, who tied the knot in July 2011, share three kids: Camden (born in September 2012), Brooklyn (born in January 2015) and Phoenix (born in December 2016).

“I’m happy for him now,” Simpson told Entertainment Tonight in February 2020. “He’s married with three beautiful children and you know, that was his purpose, and he took heartbreak and made it into something beautiful, and that’s what I did as well. But you know, it took me longer to get there.”

The Blonde Ambition actress wed Eric Johnson in July 2014, three years after her ex-husband exchanged vows with Vanessa. Simpson and the former NFL player share daughters Maxwell (born in May 2012) and Birdie (born in March 2019) and son Ace (born in June 2013).

Keep scrolling to see everything the Lacheys have said about Nick’s split from Simpson.

The 1st Response
“It breaks my heart that I couldn’t make Jessica happy. I wanted to be everything to my wife,” Nick told Rolling Stone in April 2006, two months before his divorce was finalized. “I wanted her to look at me with love in her eyes, the way she did at the beginning, and have her feel like I was the most wonderful, awe-inspiring man on the planet. And when that stopped, it was the worst feeling in the world.” In the same interview, the boybander admitted that he would "marry her all over again" given the chance. “I still love her,” he added. “It would be a lot easier to walk away if I didn’t.” Matt Baron/BEI/Shutterstock
No Regrets
Eight years later, Nick had changed his tune, saying that he was happy he and his ex-wife never had children together. “In our situation, that was probably the best thing that could have ever happened that we didn’t have kids,” he told Jenny McCarthy during a November 2014 chat on her SiriusXM show. “And look, you’re always going to love your kids no matter how you feel about their other parent, but all things being equal, it was the best thing probably for both of us that we went on with our lives. She’s obviously happily married with two and I’m happily married and about to have two so it all worked out the way it was kind of meant to work out." Jim Smeal/BEI/Shutterstock
It Wasn’t Them
In February 2020, Hoda Kotb claimed that Simpson told her the Lacheys sent her baby gift after she welcomed her first child. Vanessa, however, claimed that this wasn't true. "I feel bad, I’m sorry, you said somebody sent her [something]," the former Miss Teen USA said during her own interview with the Today show host. "It wasn’t us, but thank you, whoever sent it." Broadimage/Shutterstock (2)
Not Petty
After social media users accused Vanessa of being "petty" for saying she and Nick didn't send the gift, the Life From Scratch author defended her comments in a series of tweets. "Ohhh shade! That would be fun and scandalous! No shade though, haha," she wrote in February 2020. "Just wanting to clear the incorrect statement up. That’s all." In a second tweet, she added: "Should I have pretended to give it? Dang. Can we get a do over and I will tell them it was big beautiful basket. ;-). Kidding, sorry you think that, just wanted to be truthful. That’s all. But the gift sounds lovely!" Simpson, for her part, later claimed that she didn't say the Lacheys sent her a gift. "Well, I don’t really know that I got a gift pe se,” she said during a February 2020 interview with Andy Cohen. “I didn’t get a gift. ... I don’t know where that came from.” Ser Baffo/Netflix
He Lived It
In November 2021, Nick said that he still hadn't read Open Book, which debuted in February 2020 — and he had no plans to do so in the future. "Obviously, I knew the book was coming out, but I lived the book," he said during an interview with Cohen. "I know what the truth is, so I don't need to read it — read someone's version of it in a story." He added: "That was 20 years ago. It's honestly the last thing on my mind these days except when someone brings it up. ... I understand why people want to ask, but it's just so not a part of my life anymore that it's not even on my radar. She is doing her thing and I am doing mine, and that's the way it should be." ‘Very Hard’
During an April 2022 episode of The Ultimatum, Vanessa opened up about what it was like to date Nick so soon after his split from Simpson. “He was literally in a very public marriage and a very public divorce, and I had to go through all that s–t very publicly and it was very hard for us,” she explained. “It wasn’t until the moment that he was like, ‘I’m gonna let it go,’ and I said, ‘I’m gonna let it go,’ and we truly committed to each other. We literally fell deeper and harder than we ever could.” Ilana Panich-Linsman/Netflix

The Bachelor's 'Queen' Victoria: I Truly 'Hate' the Producers

Posted: 06 Apr 2022 12:04 PM PDT

Relinquishing her Bachelor Nation crown? After Victoria Larson appeared on both The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise, she gained notoriety as a villain who likened herself to a "queen," and later, a "goddess." Now, she's opening up about what filming was like.

'Bachelor' and 'Bachelorette' Villains: Where Are They Now?

"Doing the show was probably the worst experience of my life and I hate the producers truly,” the ABC personality, 29, captioned a Tuesday, April 5, Instagram Story post after a fan asked about her experience on the show.

She added: "However, I try and look with greater perspective. There are way more significant issues in the world and mine are minuscule in comparison. Focus on my blessings always. … One of my favorite things is when people recognize me and are purposefully rude to me [because] they think I'm an awful person. It's almost as great as the online trolls.”

Victoria first competed on season 25 of The Bachelor, which was led by Matt James. The Florida resident arrived wearing a tiara and called herself "the queen" throughout the first night, even proclaiming that she hoped the 30-year-old Dancing With the Stars alum was her future king. Victoria was portrayed as a bully throughout the season, consistently mocking the other women. She even snatched Catalina Morales Gómez's crown off her head amid the Puerto Rico native's late arrival.

"It was so fun being called queen on set and then after [it] had such negative connotations," she continued via her Tuesday Story. "But f—k it, who doesn't love being called queen?"

In a separate slide, she doubled down on her stance of the show's production team, noting that she "hates" them.

"[Because] they're manipulative and pick and choose 'story lines,'" Victoria claimed.

Following her tenure on the ABC franchise, the real estate agent has made it clear that she does not regret her actions.

"Honestly, it was all in good fun," Victoria told Good Morning America in January 2021. "If my words or actions hurt anyone, like, I sincerely apologize and I'll do better and hold myself accountable. I'm not a bully. I'm really not. … [The other contestants] knew me and knew my heart and knew that I really never have ill intent, so I think they viewed it differently just because they know me."

She added at the time: "I anticipated being well-received, so to get, like, the bullying messages and the hate mail and the death threats, [I] wasn't really prepared for that at all. 100 percent, it was shocking. I don't think my kindness really got to show through and I really do have a good heart. I actually became friends with one of the new girls."

The California native went on to appear on season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise, rebranding herself as a "goddess." She was eventually sent home early on after failing to make a romantic connection.

The ABC series, which is currently filming season 19 of The Bachelorette with Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia, has not publicly addressed Victoria's recent allegations though previously defended her initial casting.

"Before, we've had 'shades of grey' villains [on the show], where you understand them more and there is maybe more sympathy for why they would do certain things. This is more black-and-white in that people just absolutely hated her. I totally get why that could be a turn-off to some people," executive producer Robert Mills told Variety in January 2021. "I'm not saying the show is made purely to stir up drama, but certainly a strong personality like [Victoria] is good. And look, Matt has said that is something that he is attracted to — a woman who is her own woman and who is strong-willed — so you can't argue that Victoria is not that."

Hannah Brown Weighs In on Peter Weber, Tyler Cameron's Reactions to Her Book

As she gears up for the release of God Bless This Messy Journal, the follow-up to her best-selling memoir, Hannah Brown is reflecting on the response to God Bless This Mess.

"I was super grateful for all the support that I was given for the book. I was really proud of just the response that I got from the people who it really helped. There was a lot of talk about the book, and I knew there would but, overall, I feel like if people actually read the book, it was about my experience," the 27-year-old author said exclusively on Us Weekly's "Here for the Right Reasons" podcast. "And I think when people can pull little excerpts out of a book, it can be taken the wrong way. I never meant to hurt anybody in writing the book. It was really about my experience and taking ownership for how I played a role in every relationship, every opportunity, every obstacle that was in my way. I had a lot to learn and a lot to grow from. And what I’ve loved about the response is that there’s so many people that are able to go on their own journey through the similarities of my life experiences and others."

The November 2021 release documented Brown’s life, including her stint as the season 15 Bachelorette — and her overnight date with Peter Weber. She also revealed that the twosome secretly hooked up when his season of the show was airing months later.

"I did not [talk to her after the book came out]. I reached out to her, I received no comment [back] and, you know, it is what is. I personally, I wouldn't have done something like that," the season 24 Bachelor said on "Here for the Right Reasons" earlier this year. "If two people have a private situation and talk and they say that they're gonna keep it private, I just keep it private. I don't know — she now has done that to me on two occasions where she said she's not gonna say anything. And then she says something."

Brown also addressed the end of her relationship with runner-up Tyler Cameron, who she claimed texted her "If you rock with me, you rock with me" as their final exchange. "I've got receipts, too," the model said on "The Bellas Podcast" podcast when the book came out.

"I honestly can’t remember what their reactions were. It's been so long," Brown told Us of her exes. "I don’t think either one of them probably read my book. I think it’s hard when it’s just taking little excerpts out or, like, the big moments that I’m sure if they haven’t read the book would, maybe, be upsetting, but it really wasn’t about that at all. It was about the journey of me processing everything that happened and my role in it and how I can be better moving forward. It was not intended to be personal or hurtful at all. I respect how they’ve all moved forward and I’m gonna continue doing that too."

One of the ways the Alabama native was able to move forward was through journaling, something she hopes her fans will take up with her April 12 release.

"I think that’s one of the things that intimidates people about journaling. They think they have to write in it every day, but I think it’s a tool for you to use on those days that you really need to journal," she told Us. "The way that I’ve even formatted this journal for the user [is] to help them learn how to journal. There’s no right way, but the mistake you can make is not [being] honest with yourself. And sometimes learning to be honest with yourself is something that you need your handheld to do. That’s kind of what I did with the two parts of the journal is I wanted to show people how you can use your journal as a tool to kind of get through those hard moments."

Brown also enlisted her therapist to help her with writing the journal.

"I wanted to bring my therapist along to help me make sure that I was crafting prompts that would help an individual during times where they needed to learn the correct way from a professional — those prompts that will allow them to get down to what’s actually going on," she said. "What are the emotions that are actually there vs. sometimes when we stay very surface level. I think we all tend to do that when there’s layers that are a little bit painful underneath. So having a therapist be able to help me make sure that I was putting prompts in here that would be actually helpful to move through the pain or even celebrate the joys and great times in life. Just the best way to really be able to help a person write and grow."

The board originally planned to discuss the consequences of the King Richard star's outburst on April 18, but after Smith, 53, announced his resignation from the Academy on Friday, April 1, they've changed course. According to a letter obtained by Variety on Wednesday, April 6, the team is now meeting on Friday, April 8.

"The April 18 date was set in accordance with California law and our Standards of Conduct because our agenda included possible suspension or expulsion of Mr. Smith from membership," Academy president David Rubin wrote in the letter.

The initial timetable was agreed upon because the Academy was "required to provide Mr. Smith notice 15 days prior to the board meeting at which such action might be taken, and also give him the opportunity to provide the board a written statement no less than five days prior to that meeting."

Rubin explained that following Smith's resignation of his Academy membership "suspension or expulsion are no longer a possibility, and the legally prescribed timetable no longer applies."

He concluded that it is "in the best interest of all involved for this to be handled in a timely fashion," which is why the governors will now assemble on Friday. The meeting will take place via Zoom, and attendees will discuss Smith's altercation with Rock, 57, in depth.

The Academy previously announced a formal review of what transpired at the Oscars on March 27, after Smith made headlines for slapping presenter Rock on stage.

The Saturday Night Live alum was caught off guard during the awards show when Smith told him to "keep my wife's name out your f—king mouth," after Rock made a G.I. Jane joke, referring to Jada Pinkett Smith's bald head. (Pinkett Smith, for her part, has been vocal about suffering from alopecia.)

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum apologized to the Academy and his fellow actors while accepting the best actor award later that evening. He didn't, however, directly address Rock.

Smith issued a public apology on March 28, noting that he was "out of line and wrong" for how he responded to the comedian. A source exclusively told Us Weekly that the Men in Black star had not personally reached out to Rock following the drama.

Rock, for his part, broke his silence over the scandal during his comedy tour in Boston on March 30, saying, "I'm still processing what happened."

Two days later, Smith resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences amid the organization's notice of a disciplinary hearing. In his statement, the Wild, Wild, West actor called his actions at the Oscars "shocking, painful, and inexcusable."

He again apologized to Rock and his loved ones, confessing, "The list of those I have hurt is long. … I betrayed the trust of the Academy." In addition to resigning from the Academy, Smith made it clear that he "will accept any further consequences the Board deems appropriate."

In the days that followed, a source exclusively told Us that Smith "feels terrible" about what transpired and is nervous about what will happen next. "His biggest fear is that he's in the process of being fully canceled," the insider said on Wednesday. "And there's nothing he can really do about it except sit back, suck up his punishment like a man and try to atone however he can."

Jason Tartick: 'Calculated' Colton Underwood Unfollowed Me and Kaitlyn

In Bachelor Nation, the drama doesn’t stay solely on screen. Jason Tartick is opening up about where he and Kaitlyn Bristowe stand with Colton Underwood — and revealed that things aren’t so rosy between them.

The investment banker, 33, discussed his experience on the ABC dating series during the Monday, April 4, episode of his “Trading Secrets” podcast, confessing that “there’s no way” he would have been a more successful Bachelor than Underwood, 30, who was the season 23 lead in 2019.

“One of the big reasons is because I’m boring. I’m vanilla,” Tartick said. “They know I wouldn’t have been manipulated, I wouldn’t have done crazy s–t. He was exactly right. He nailed it.”

When guest David Arduin asked whether Tartick still keeps in touch with the First Time author, the podcaster was quick to say no. “[I] don’t talk to him. Ironically enough, just found out he recently unfollowed Kaitlyn and I,” the New York native continued. “Not sure why. We returned the favor.”

The Restart Roadmap author called Underwood “very calculated” while reflecting on the “timeline” of their social media fallout. “He had asked me several times to interview to be on one of the Netflix shows for him. This was before his [show] Coming Out Colton,” Tartick alleged. “He was gonna have a show with Cassie [Randolph], then he was gonna have a show by himself with his friends. He was working every angle to get a Netflix show. And I commend him, you know, he knows what he wants and he goes for it. It’s just interesting. I was like, ‘Dude, whatever you need, however I can help. If you need Kaitlyn, I’ll get Kaitlyn to interview. Whatever we can do to help you.'”

Tartick conceded that he “didn’t know much” about the specifics of Underwood’s projects, but he was still willing to help out a friend. (Both men competed on Becca Kufrin‘s season 14 of The Bachelorette and landed in the final four.)

“I interviewed for two or three things for Colton with Netflix and then he came to Nashville in the summer, hung out with Kaitlyn and I. [He] was a little distant, I think that was when his whole thing was happening,” the entrepreneur continued. “He was still him. He was a little aloof with where he said he would be and why. And then all this s–t happened. I remember he FaceTimed Cassie a couple of times, which was interesting, and like, he would [hold] it up with Kaitlyn and I.”

Underwood and Randolph, 26, began their romance on season 23 of The Bachelor and dated until May 2020. After they called it quits, the California native requested a temporary restraining order against her ex, alleging that he was stalking and harassing her. The filing was dropped in November 2020, and the former football player publicly came out as gay the following April.

“I think that was sort of a huge wake-up call. I’m sad that it even got to that point to where that had to be my wake-up call and me affecting other people in my life was sort of the moment that I realized I had to come out,” Underwood exclusively told Us Weekly in December 2021, crediting the legal drama with helping him embrace his identity. “Obviously, I wish I would have had the courage to come out without having to be pushed.”

Tartick, for his part, got engaged to Bristowe in May 2021 after more than two years of dating. When asked where he currently stands with Underwood, the University of Rochester grad said, “There’s just so many open questions. … We were so close.”

While Tartick admitted that he hasn’t seen Coming Out Colton, which debuted on Netflix last year, he was glad to see his former costar “living his happy life” with fiancé Jordan C. Brown. However, he appeared to put his support behind Randolph, who they spent time with at the season 26 Bachelor finale. The speech pathology student later appeared on Bristowe’s “Off the Vine” podcast.

“I’ve heard through the show he takes a lot of ownership for what happened to Cassie. … I feel so sad and sorry for what she went through,” Tartick added. “But I’m also happy that Colton, it seems like, has acknowledged that, moved on and found happiness. … And that’s where the cookie crumbles with the whole Colton situation.”

Scott Disick Holds Hands With Model Rebecca Donaldson: 5 Things to Know

Posted: 06 Apr 2022 10:10 AM PDT

Does the Lord have a new lady? Scott Disick was spotted holding hands with Rebecca Donaldson following ex Kourtney Kardashian‘s surprise wedding ceremony in Las Vegas.

The Talentless founder, 39, was photographed grabbing lunch with the U.K.-based model, 27, in Malibu on Tuesday, April 5. The pair were spotted together later that night at Los Angeles hotspot Catch, before heading to a party at On The Rox, hand-in-hand.

Two women that Disick had previously been spotted with — Holly Scarfone and Hana Cross — were also in attendance at the event, although it’s unclear whether or not they interacted with the Flip It Like Disick star and Donaldson.

Since his split from Amelia Gray Hamlin in September 2021, Disick has been enjoying the single life and has been spotted out and about with multiple women. “Don't be fooled — if he's spotted with a new girl, it isn't someone he's serious about,” a source told Us Weekly in November 2021. “[He] isn't in a rush to settle down with anyone special any time soon,” the insider added, revealing that Disick told friends he wanted “to have some fun” after his breakup.

“His friends describe him as a loner. He's disconnected from a lot of friends and only has a few close friends in his inner circle,’ the source continued. “He's mainly been spending a lot of time with his kids.” Disick shares Mason, 12, Penelope, 9, and Reign, 7, with ex-girlfriend Kardashian, 42.

Back in December 2021, Disick was photographed on vacation in St. Barts with 25-year-old model Bella Banos. The pair had previously traveled to Costa Rica together in 2017, and appeared to rekindle their relationship in October 2020, when they were seen having dinner together. In January, however, he was spotted at Nobu in Malibu with English model Cross, 24. One month later, Disick was photographed outside of that same restaurant with Too Hot to Handle alum Scarfone, 23.

Kardashian, for her part, has moved on with Travis Barker and the couple got engaged in October 2021. In the early hours of Monday, April 4, the couple exchanged vows during a wedding ceremony in Las Vegas following the Blink-182 drummer’s performance at the Grammy Awards. She later confirmed the news on social media.

“Once upon a time in a land far, far away (Las Vegas) at 2am, after an epic night and a little tequila, a queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married (with no license),” the Poosh founder wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, April 6. “Practice makes perfect.” Barker, 46, added bride and groom emojis in the comment section.

Donaldson was discovered after winning a local beauty pageant at age 17. "My mum entered me and I was really surprised when I found out," she told the U.K.'s Daily Record in December 2011. She Founded Her Own Activewear Line
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Instagram influencer fulfilled her dream of starting a clothing line by founding MUSE Activewear. "I was spending many days and hours during lockdown feeling a little purposeless," Donaldson told Vestd.com in May 2021. "I knew I wanted to create something that not only I would wear and be proud of putting my name against, but also something that was missing from the market — affordable, good quality products that are also very wearable day-to-day, as I found I struggled to find items that covered all these aspects." She Runs Her Company By Herself
In the year since MUSE was founded, Donaldson has been the company's sole employee. "I currently work alone and freelance out any help I need," she told Vestd.com. "However, that being said, I work with manufacturers, designers, photographers so to keep the chain of communication most efficient, it is so important to ensure you're readily available whenever anyone messages." She Loves to Paint
When she's not modeling or working on MUSE, the entrepreneur likes to unwind by painting. "It's one of these things that take a long time to do, but I can sit for hours and hours and hours," Donaldson confessed during an April 2021 interview with Caroline Milne. Posted: 06 Apr 2022 10:06 AM PDT

Congratulations are in order! Kourtney Kardashian's inner circle members sweetly reacted to her and Travis Barker's wedding ceremony news.

After the Poosh creator, 42, and the Blink-182 member, 46, exchanged vows in Las Vegas on Monday, April 4, following the Grammy Awards, Kardashian clarified the purpose of the Sin City ceremony.

"Once upon a time in a land far, far away (Las Vegas) at 2am, after an epic night and a little tequila, a queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married (with no license)," she wrote alongside a series of snaps. "Practice makes perfect."

When the duo got engaged in October 2021, Keeping Up With the Kardashians alums shared their support via Instagram. "Congratulations to the most beautiful, adorable, affectionate, fabulous, made for each other couple in the world!" Kris Jenner gushed at the time. "Love you guys!!!!!”

Kim Kardashian, for her part, commented on Kourtney's social media upload with ring and heart emojis, and Khloé Kardashian did the same. As for Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner, the sisters both posted photos of the University of Arizona grad kissing the drummer with her engagement ring on display.

The Meet the Barkers alum was previously married to Shanna Moakler from 2004 to 2006, and the former couple share son Landon, 18, and daughter Alabama, 16. Kourtney is the mother of son Mason, 12, daughter Penelope, 9, and son Reign, 7, with ex Scott Disick.

The Talentless creator planned to "stay far away from witnessing" Kourtney's wedding, a source exclusively told Us Weekly in March. "It would definitely be awkward if Scott was at the wedding," the insider added. "If it's filmed for sure, then he might there.”

Another source told Us last month that it will "take time" for the Flip It Like Disick star "to fully accept Travis is The One" for the Los Angeles native, calling her "the one that got away."

The Grammy nominee is "cordial" around Disick, a third insider told Us after they both attended Reign's March baseball game, noting, "He doesn't go around trash-talking him and would never be caught publicly dissing him because of his relationship with the kids."

The musician has been bonding with Kourtney's family members, however, including a dinner date with Kim, 41, Khloé, 37, and Rob Kardashian in October 2021.

Barker will be featured on the famous family's upcoming Hulu show. The series' first trailer in March showed Barker attending a doctor appointment with Kourtney as she said in a voiceover: "Travis and I want to have a baby."

Kendall Jenner Subtly Celebrates The Weeknd Replacing Kanye at Coachella

After the “Blinding Lights” singer, 32, confirmed the news via Instagram on Wednesday, April 6, the supermodel, 26, reacted in the comments section with a high-five emoji (also known as the praying hands emoji). The Grammy winner had posted a screenshot of the updated Coachella poster with his name in the slot where “Ye” used to be.

The Yeezy designer, 44, dropped out of the California music festival on Monday, April 4, after skipping the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. West was scheduled to headline the closing night of the three-day event on April 17 and April 24.

The “Famous” rapper’s appearance was itself a replacement for a scheduled performance by Travis Scott, who was originally tapped to headline the 2020 edition of the festival. After the 2020 and 2021 events were canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic, organizers announced the “Sicko Mode” artist, 30, as one of the 2022 headliners. Scott was removed from the lineup in December 2021 following the Astroworld concert tragedy, and West was confirmed as his replacement the following month.

Some Coachella attendees, however, were not happy about the addition of the “Heartless” singer, who has made controversial statements about his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend, Pete Davidson. Last month, West released a music video for his song “Eazy” that showed him kidnapping and decapitating the Saturday Night Live star, 28.

Before the Chicago native dropped out of Coachella, nearly 50,000 people signed a Change.org petition to have him removed from the event. "We have watched Kanye harass, manipulate, and hurt Kim, Pete, and others for over a year now,” the petition read. "This is ridiculous that he is allowed to freely do this. Coachella (along with other brand names that are still working with him) should be ashamed of themselves and should not be giving him any more of a platform."

The Skims founder, 41, filed for divorce from West in February 2021. The former couple are still hammering out the details of their split, but last month, a judge declared Kardashian legally single and restored her maiden name.

The beauty mogul was first linked to Davidson in October 2021 after she made her SNL hosting debut that same month. In March, the duo made their relationship Instagram official when the reality star shared photos of herself and the comedian from their Valentine’s Day date.

"I am a relationship kind of girl, for sure, and I wouldn't be with someone if I didn't plan on spending a lot of my time with them," the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum told Robin Roberts in a new interview set to air on Wednesday. "Obviously, I want to take my time, but I'm very happy and very content. And it's such a good feeling just to be at peace."
