Why Miranda Lambert Is Missing the Grammys After Skipping ACM Awards Posted: 02 Apr 2022 06:28 PM PDT ![]() Sitting this one out. Miranda Lambert revealed she will not attend the 2022 Grammy Awards weeks after missing the Academy of Country Music Awards. “I’m not getting to go again,” the “Little Red Wagon” singer, 38, told ABC Audio on Friday, April 1. “I’m slammed this month, with the record coming out and everything.” Lambert is nominated in two categories. “Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)” with Elle King is up for Best Country Duo/Group Performance while “The Marfa Tapes,” her album with Jon Randall and Jack Ingram, is nominated for Best Country Album at the Grammys. However, instead of heading to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for the awards show, Lambert is in pre-production for her The Bandwagon Tour, which she is co-headlining with Little Big Town. She is also gearing up for her new album, Palomino, to debut on April 29. “I got to play on the Grammys last year, and I got to take one home, and I was just so thankful,” she told ABC Audio. “I’m grateful for what I already have.” The “If I Was a Cowboy” songstress also missed out on last month’s ACM Awards. She accepted the coveted Entertainer of the Year award virtually, explaining in a video message that she missed her first Academy of Country Music Awards ever due to a prior commitment overseas. Lambert said she previously attended every ACM Awards show for 17 years straight, but her appearance at the C2C Festival in Europe prevented her from being at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for the March 7 ceremony. "I've been waiting for this for a really, really long time,” she said of the Entertainer of the Year trophy. “I actually never thought it would happen. This one goes out to all the girls out there. We did it!" Though Lambert will not be in attendance at the Grammys, plenty of other stars will be there. Silk Sonic will open Sunday’s show, and other performers include nominees Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, Olivia Rodrigo, Carrie Underwood, John Legend and more. Even the Broadway fans have a good reason to tune in. Rachel Zegler, Leslie Odom Jr., Ben Platt, and Cynthia Erivo are set to perform a tribute the late Stephen Sondheim. The Grammys air on CBS Sunday, April 3, at 8 p.m. ET. |
LOL! Khloe Kardashian Denies 'Funny' Plastic Surgery Rumors Posted: 02 Apr 2022 05:17 PM PDT ![]() Laughing it off. Khloé Kardashian said she thought an online commenter’s plastic surgery accusations were “so funny.” On Friday, April 1, the Kardashian Social Instagram account reposted the Good American cofounder’s workout video. The clip showed Kardashian, 37, folding into downward dog and lifting one leg, giving a clear view of her side profile. The way her glutes moved under her purple leggings had fans talking in the comments section. One viewer wrote, “Omg u can see her implants when stretching. A 2nd layer of her bum on top of her bum.” Kardashian chimed in to correct the commenter. “Lol silly goose,” Kardashian replied. “It's the seam design of the leggings. that's so funny ha! You guys just want to believe anything bad The former Revenge Body host confirmed in June 2021 that she had one major change that required plastic surgery — rhinoplasty. "For me, everyone says, 'Oh my gosh, she's had her third face transplant,’" the Strong Looks Better Naked author explained to host Andy Cohen during part two of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion. "But I've had one nose job — Dr. Raj Kinodia — and everyone gets so upset, like, 'Why don't I talk about it?’" She claimed that while many speculate about the assets she was born with, few are brave enough to ask. "No one's ever asked me," she said of plastic surgery rumors at the time. "You're the first person in an interview that's ever asked me about my nose. I've done, sure, injections — not really Botox. I've responded horribly to Botox." Keeping Up With the Kardashians chronicled the reality star’s struggle with self-confidence. "When the show first started, I was very secure, very secure," she replied. "And then during the first couple seasons, I became insecure because of the public opinions of myself. Then I had, I think, a good run of being secure, and then I think recently I've become now insecure again. So I guess it just goes, you know, up and down." Viewers will see where she is now when her family’s new series, The Kardashians, premieres this spring. The show will allow viewers to catch up with the California native after her split from Tristan Thompson, with whom she shares daughter True, 3. An insider exclusively told Us Weekly last month that Kardashian is ready to find love again if the right man comes along. "[Khloé] is enjoying spending time with her best friends and family," the source explained, adding that the Dose & Co. cofounder is "not actively dating" right now. "If someone special comes into her life, of course she would love to explore a new relationship." The Kardashians premieres on Hulu April 14. |
Shia LaBeouf, Mia Goth's Relationship Timeline: Inside Their Ups and Downs Posted: 02 Apr 2022 03:00 PM PDT A rocky journey. Shia LaBeouf and Mia Goth have gone through their fair share together. The Even Stevens alum — who previously was linked to Karolyn Pho, Megan Fox and Isabel Lucas — began dating Goth in December 2012 after they met on the set of Nymphomaniac: Vol II. In the 2013 film, LaBeouf played Jerôme while Goth played P. "Oh, I’ve been in love with every woman I’ve ever worked with,” the former child star admitted to GQ in April 2008 about his dating history. "But some aren’t available. And then there’s the three-month attention span that actors have, you know, I don’t know if it’s mutual, but I really don’t care. They have to kiss me when 'action’ gets called, anyway, so I’ll get what I want." As LaBeouf's romance with the Survivalist actress continued to heat up, Us Weekly confirmed in March 2016 they were engaged after Goth was photographed wearing a large diamond ring. Several months later, the California native confirmed the pair's nuptials. "The plan was for it to be a private deal," LaBeouf revealed about the twosome's Las Vegas ceremony during an October 2016 appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. "Part of the package, the King Tut package, you get a livestream for free – [it's] part of the deal. And I said, 'Ya know, we don't really need that as a matter of fact. We'll just take our private tape. We got our moms there,' and they said 'no problem.'" The American Honey star continued at the time: "We get back home and it's like, 'Whoa, hey listen, something changed!' I [called the church] up and they said somebody pressed the wrong button that sends the video to TMZ. I said, 'I understood.' I checked with my girl and she said, 'Hey, what are you gonna do?' And ya know, it's love. We're proud of it. It was love. [Our] dads couldn't be there so it was kind of nice to have them there watching in a way." However, it was reported at the time that the duo's ceremony was not legally binding. "Our records show no marriage license for Shia LaBeouf & Mia Goth. A commitment ceremony was performed," Clark County, Nevada's official Twitter page wrote, sharing a photo from the couple's Elvis Presley-themed event. Two years later, the pair went their separate ways and LaBeouf moved on with FKA Twigs. "Shia and Mia have filed for divorce," a rep for the Honey Boy actor told Us in September 2018. "The separation is amicable and all details pertaining to the divorce proceedings will remain private." The couple had seemingly reconciled in March 2020 after they were spotted together in Los Angeles, both wearing wedding rings. Since then, the off-again, on-again pair have remained coy about their romantic status before the London native made headlines in January 2022, seemingly debuting her baby bump while running errands in California. But for the better though!” At the time, LaBeouf was excited about making new memories as a family, telling the outlet, “I'm about to create some new ones. Kanye West Is 'Committed' to Coparenting With Kim Kardashian Posted: 02 Apr 2022 02:58 PM PDT ![]() Still working on it. Kanye West is trying to focus on a ‘healthy relationship’ with estranged wife Kim Kardashian. "At this time, Ye is committed to a healthy coparenting relationship with Kim and is and focused on raising their beautiful children,” West’s representative said in a statement to Us Weekly. The “Power” rapper, 44, and Kardashian, 41, who tied the knot in 2014 share children North, 8, Chicago, 4, Saint, 6, and Psalm, 2. The KKW Beauty founder filed for divorce in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage. The rep’s statement comes after West and Kardashian were spotted at Saint’s March 27 soccer game. The Grammy winner even took to the field to help their little athlete warm up before sitting down with Saint’s mom and siblings to watch the game. An insider exclusively told Us that it was an “amicable” spring family outing after a dramatic winter. The exes’ divorce turned ugly when West started publicly attacking Pete Davidson, Kardashian’s first boyfriend since their split, with lyrics and music videos as well as complaining about their custody arrangements and parenting disagreements. In March, the Yeezy designer shared a photo of a black backpack with three pins on it: an alien, Kardashian and West. "This was on my daughter's backpack when I was 'allowed' to see her last week," the father of four shared via Instagram, referencing North. "This is why I go so hard for my family I am wired to protect my family at all cost[s]. As the priest of my home Don't worry Northy God is still alive." The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum replied to the post, writing: "Please stop with this narrative, you were just here this morning picking up the kids for school." Comments from Kardashian have been few and far in between because, as she told Ellen DeGeneres earlier this month, she tries to take "the high road" amid West’s social media rants. "I think that's just who I am," the makeup mogul explained during the Ellen DeGeneres Show appearance. "I always saw such a good example in my mom [Kris Jenner] and dad [Robert Kardashian's] relationship, so I'm always just hopeful. No matter what goes on, that's the father of my kids. I'll always be protective. I always want my kids to see the best of the best as hard as it can be sometimes." An insider told Us in February that the Skims founder was "deeply hurt" by West's posts and was concerned that North would come across his uploads. "[Kim is] doing her best with the joint custody, but there are certain things that are hard to control," the insider explained earlier this month. "She and Kanye don't see eye to eye on a lot of things which is very unfortunate, but it's what she's dealing with. It's a daily struggle and she hopes they can soon coparent amicably." |
Denzel Washington: I Couldn't Have 'Sat in My Seat' After Will Smith Slap Posted: 02 Apr 2022 02:18 PM PDT Speaking out. After Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the 94th annual Academy Awards, Denzel Washington and other Hollywood friends were quick to console the King Richard star. "There's a saying when the devil ignores you, then you know you're doing something wrong," Washington, 67, said during a panel at the T.D. Jakes Leadership Summit on Saturday, April 2, via The Wrap's livestream. "The devil goes, 'Oh no leave him alone, he's my favorite.' Conversely, when the devil comes at you, maybe it's because he's trying to do something right. And for whatever reason, the devil got a hold of him that night." During the Oscars on Sunday, March 27, the Everybody Hates Chris creator made headlines after joking about Jada Pinkett Smith — who wed the 53-year-old Philadelphia native in 1997 — and her shaved head. Rock, 57, quipped that Pinkett Smith, 50, could star in a potential G.I. Jane sequel. The Maryland native, whose shaved head is the result of her battle with alopecia, rolled her eyes during the broadcast. Smith, for his part, stormed the Dolby Theatre stage and smacked Rock across the face. "Keep my wife's name out your f—king mouth," Smith yelled after returning to his seat. Shortly after the incident, several stars attempted to play peacemaker including Washington, Tyler Perry and Diddy. "No way I could have sat in my seat," the Tragedy of Macbeth star, who was nominated for Best Lead Actor during the awards show, said on Saturday. "That’s just not who I am. … Fortunately, there were people there, not just me but others, [like] Tyler Perry, came immediately right over there with me." ![]() While the Fences star declined to reveal the specific details of the actors' conversation, he noted that they offered Smith prayers.
"Who are we to condemn? I don't know all the ins and outs of this situation, but I know the only solution was prayer, the way I saw it, the way I see it," Washington added. While the Academy made sure to keep Smith and Rock separate for the duration of the ceremony, Smith eventually took home the Best Lead Actor trophy for his role as Richard Williams — the father of Serena Williams and Venus Williams — in King Richard. "Denzel said a few minutes ago, 'At your highest moment, be careful, that's when the devil comes for you,'" Smith recalled of his conversation with Washington while accepting the trophy. "It's like, I want to be a vessel for love. … That's what I want to do. I want to be an ambassador of that kind of love and care and concern." While Us Weekly confirmed that Rock declined to file a police report after the encounter, Smith has publicly apologized for his actions and resigned as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. |
Raquel Leviss: My 1st Date After James Split Was 'Scary But Invigorating' Posted: 02 Apr 2022 01:12 PM PDT ![]() She's ready to move on! Nearly four months after Raquel Leviss and James Kennedy called off their engagement, she has dipped her toe back into the dating pool. “Last night I went out for drinks with Peter [Madrigal], and it was just a fun little time," Leviss, 27, told Vanderpump Rules costar Katie Maloney during a Friday, April 1, appearance on her "You're Gonna Love Me" podcast. "I figured this would be a good opportunity for me to just get back out into the dating world because I haven’t had an official date since the breakup. So, when he asked me to go grab drinks with him, I was like, 'OK, sure.'" The California native added: "Let's not get carried away. It was one friendly date, but no one else has asked me out on a date. So, this is literally the first person who asked me out on a date, and I said, 'Why not?' It’s good practice after 5 years. … It is scary, but it [is] also invigorating." Leviss and the England native, 30, started dating in 2016 before getting engaged in May 2021. The pair announced their split the following December while filming the season 9 reunion of Vanderpump Rules. "After these 5 wonderful years we had together, we decided we have two different goals and made the decision to call off the engagement," Leviss wrote via Instagram at the time. "We love each other very much, but we aren't in love anymore. We want nothing but the best for each other so please keep any thoughts positive. Sending Love." Less than three months after their split, the model moved on with girlfriend Ally Lewber. Leviss, for her part, was focused on her healing before diving back into dating. "Raquel tries to just focus on herself and not what her ex has been up to. She even unfollowed him on Instagram," a source exclusively told Us Weekly in March. "The breakup was very emotional for her so she's truly on the path of recovery and getting back into a healthy state of mind." The reality TV star — who joined the Bravo series in 2016 as her relationship with Kennedy began — opened up to Maloney, 35, about learning her ex-fiancé had a new love. "I am judging you if you have a girlfriend after your engagement has been broken off. Like literally how many months? Like one month? Four weeks after the engagement was broken off, James has a new girlfriend," Leviss told the Utah native, who filed for divorce from Tom Schwartz last month, during Friday's episode. "That’s not news to anybody but I am judging you if you have a girlfriend after your engagement has ended in a one-month period. It is quick. It’s fine, though." She continued: "I am not judging too hard because I was the one who ended things, and we all cope with breakups differently. But I do feel like being single isn’t a bad thing. It is a great time to relearn who you are and heal from your past traumas and to figure out what you really, really like.” |
Red Hot Chili Peppers Honor Taylor Hawkins In Late-Night Performances Posted: 02 Apr 2022 12:10 PM PDT Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has died. He was 50. “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the band wrote in a Twitter statement on Friday, March 25. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.” Hawkins joined the music group — which is also comprised of Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel, Rami Jaffee and Franz Stahl — in 1997 after William Goldsmith‘s departure. Together, the band has released 10 albums with hit songs including “Best of You,” “Love Dies Young” and “This Is a Call.” The group had been on tour in South America and were set to perform at the 2022 Grammy Awards next month. The Texas native is survived by his wife Alison Hawkins — who he wed in 2005 — and their three children: Oliver, Annabelle and Everleigh. “When I was 25, I never thought, 'I’m going to be a suburban dad someday,'” the late songwriter told Billboard in November 2019. “But that’s what I am, so I can’t write about being young and going to clubs, and I’m not very political. It’s all sort of tongue-in-cheek though.” While further details of Taylor’s death have not been revealed, several of music’s biggest names have honored the “Everlong” performer’s legacy. “I don't have the words. Sad to write this or to never see you again,” Travis Barker, the drummer for Blink-182, wrote via Instagram on Friday. “I'll never forget Laguna Beach days when I was a trash man playing in a punk rock band and you were playing with Alanis [Morissette]. You'd come watch me play in dive bars and be like, ‘kid you're a star.’ And I thought you were crazy but you gave me so much hope and determination.” The Barker Wellness founder — who is set to perform at the 2022 Oscars on Sunday, March 27 — added a second tribute via Instagram Story, writing, “This one hurts.” Full House alum John Stamos, for his part, recalled the last messages the pair exchanged. “This was Taylor Hawkins’ last text to me: ‘Ya We've yet to fully have a hang – Got a put that s–t together before we die,'” the Grandfathered alum, 58, tweeted early on Saturday, March 26. “Wise words from my friend – put that s–t together! I’m so f–king sad. Another one gone too soon.” Scroll below to see how the stars mourned the legendary rocker’s death: ![]() The “Bloody Valentine” singer called the late drummer an “amazing musician” with a “great voice,” during an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show on Wednesday, March 30. Kelly went on to describe one of his most memorable days with Hawkins, which took place in Paraguay just two days before his death. After the festival they were both supposed to perform at was canceled, the Foo Fighters invited him and his entourage to come back to their hotel’s rooftop and hangout. "[Taylor] went up to every single one of us and gave us each our moment," the Dirt actor recalled. "Like every single one of us, man, like down to my assistant. He's such a beautiful soul. He gave his heart." The musician continued: “The last thing that he had said to [my drummer was], ‘I’m just so bummed I didn’t get to see you guys play.’ I really want to thank him and let his kids know that he made us feel … so confident in ourselves and loved, and your father [was] a great, great man and we were all lucky to know him.” Action Press/Shutterstock ![]() “Taylor’s sudden death came as a shock to me and the people who knew and loved him,” McCartney wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, March 30. “Not only was he a GREAT drummer but his personality was big and shiny and will be sorely missed by all who were lucky to live and work alongside him.” He continued: “I was asked by the Foo Fighters to play on one of their tracks. It turned out that they wanted me to play drums! — on one of Taylor’s songs. This request came from a group with TWO amazing drummers! It was an incredible session and cemented my relationship with Taylor and the guys. Later they asked if I would induct them into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I sang with them on 'Get Back.' Taylor provided a powerhouse drum part. I’ll never forget that night. All of which made it much more of a desperately sad shock to hear he had died. So thanks Taylor for sharing some glorious minutes with me. You were a true Rock and Roll hero and will always remain in my heart.” Shutterstock ![]() “A rock and roll brother has gone home too soon,” the “Fly Away” crooner tweeted. Because of these pictures my friendship with Taylor will always be at my fingertips,” the “Landslide” songstress wrote via Instagram on Saturday, sharing a throwback photo with Hawkins. “He always came to my shows. We recorded a kick ass version of Gold Dust Woman (live) and at the end of the song I yelled out 'Best Gold Dust Woman ever~’ And I meant it. … He had a huge heart and a glorious smile. Lee Daniels Ends Feud With 'Best Friend' Mo'Nique After Public Falling-Out Posted: 02 Apr 2022 11:58 AM PDT Reconciled. Nearly seven years after Mo'Nique — full name Monique Angela Hicks — alleged that her Precious director, Lee Daniels, had "blackballed" her from the film industry, the pair are on much better terms. "[It took me] a long time to realize [this but] I am so sorry for hurting you in any way that I did," Daniels, 62, told the comedian, 54, at her "Mo'Nique and Friends: April Fools Day with The Queen of Comedy" event on Friday, April 1, per Twitter footage. "Y'all, she was my best friend — my best friend. Y'all think that Precious was just … That was God working through both of us." "And we're gonna f–king do it again," he continued before the pair embraced. "I love you. I love you." ![]() The Grammy nominee brought out Daniels as a special guest during her Staten Island, New York, comedy show. "NO CAPTION NEEDED. I LOVE US 4REAL Mo'Nique previously starred in 2009's Precious — directed and produced by Daniels — as the titular character's mother. The role nnabbed her the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress that year. However, her win was the subject of controversy after Daniels allegedly criticized her for refusing to campaign for it. "First, I would like to thank the Academy for showing that it can be about the performance and not the politics," Mo'Nique noted in her acceptance speech, seemingly shading the Butler director. The Maryland native later alleged that those actions contributed to her getting "blackballed" by the industry on Daniels' behalf. "How did the Oscar change my life? What it did was that it gave me a new reality," Mo'Nique told The Hollywood Reporter in February 2015. "And it let me know that an award wasn’t going to change my life — that I had to be in control of changing my life." She continued: "I thought, once you won the award, that’s the top prize — and so you’re supposed to be treated as if you got the top prize. [But] I got a phone call from Lee Daniels maybe six or seven months ago. And he said to me, 'Mo’Nique, you’ve been blackballed.' And I said, 'I've been blackballed? Why have I been blackballed?' And he said, 'Because you didn’t play the game.' And I said, 'Well, what game is that?' And he gave me no response." Daniels, for his part, continued to assert his innocence in the matter through the years, noting that he always called the Parkers alum a friend. "It breaks my heart that she feels that we blackballed her. No one blackballed her. Mo'Nique blackballed her," the Paperboy filmmaker told TMZ in July 2018. |
Katherine Schwarzenegger Surprises Chris Pratt With Garage Makeover Posted: 02 Apr 2022 11:50 AM PDT Chris Pratt's divorce from Anna Faris broke fans' hearts, but the Parks and Recreation alum found another shot at love with Katherine Schwarzenegger. The couple started dating in 2018, one year after Pratt and Faris confirmed they were going their separate ways after eight years of marriage (the exes welcomed son Jack in 2012). In January 2019, the Take Me Home Tonight actor announced that he and Schwarzenegger were engaged. The couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Montecito, California, just six months later. Shortly after the Guardians of the Galaxy star exchanged vows with his new love, he chalked up their whirlwind romance to a lucky twist of fate. “We met at church,” he explained to Extra in July 2019. “It was a lot of kismet, and a lot of connections, but that was where we met.” Pratt later admitted that he felt “so grateful” to have found a lifelong partner in Schwarzenegger. “Aww, man, I’m lucky,” he told Entertainment Tonight in August 2019. “God is good. I feel really good, really blessed. Everything is great.” As their love continued to blossom, the Rock What You’ve Got author dished on how the pair were able to maintain such a strong connection. “I’m a big communicator,” she told Us Weekly and other reporters during a virtual fireside chat in April 2020. “I got married last June, and just communication constantly is, like, really the most amazing gift you can have, I think, in a partnership and in a relationship. … I don’t like to go to bed angry. And we both are the same way.” Less than one week after spilling her secrets to a successful marriage, news broke that Schwarzenegger and Pratt were expecting their first child together. While paying tribute to her mother, Maria Shriver, in a Mother’s Day Instagram post in May, the “Dog That Changed Me” podcast host admitted she’s wanted to be a mom “for as long as I can remember." Her dream came true in August 2020 when she and Pratt welcomed their little bundle of joy. Miley Cyrus Is ‘Feeling Fine’ After Testing Positive for COVID-19 Posted: 02 Apr 2022 10:45 AM PDT The pandemic isn’t over. Just as it did in 2020 and 2021, Hollywood’s A-list continues to be affected by COVID-19 in 2022 — but they largely attribute their fast recoveries to vaccines. In January, Late Night With Seth Meyers only returned from holiday break for one show before suddenly having to go on hiatus amid the omicron variant’s prevalence. “The bad news is, I tested positive for COVID (thanks, 2022!) the good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!),” Seth Meyers wrote via Twitter on January 4. “We are canceling the rest of the shows this week, so tune in next Monday to see what cool location we will try and pass off as a studio!!!” Meyers’ fellow NBC late night host Jimmy Fallon revealed a day prior that he’d recently recovered from COVID-19. The Saturday Night Live alum made it clear that he tested negative before returning to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on January 3. “Hey guys, on the first day of our holiday break I tested positive for Covid,” he captioned a photo via Instagram of himself masked in a room marked “reserved for testing use.” The room was decorated with an iconic Diff’rent Strokes quote, which Fallon appreciated. He continued, “I was vaccinated and boostered which made me lucky enough to only have mild symptoms. Thank you to the doctors and nurses who work so hard around the clock to get everyone vaxxed. Thank you to NBC for taking the testing protocols so seriously and doing a great job – and also thanks for putting me in the ‘What 'chu talkin' about Willis?’ isolation room when they told me the news.” In the comments section, Fallon told a fan that he completely recovered, writing, “The positive came back on 12/18. Back at work today and feeling 100%!” The NBC hosts both advocated for vaccination. As of January, the CDC recommended a booster shot for people over age 16 five months after completing the primary series. Meyers and Fallon each had a booster before testing positive. Similarly, Whoopi Goldberg also had a breakthrough case amid the highly contagious variant’s spread. Her View cohost Joy Behar announced the news on January 3 and said the Sister Act star was expected to be fully recovered within a week. “Why am I here instead of Whoopi? Well, Whoopi, unfortunately, tested positive over the break, but she’ll be back probably next week,” Behar explained. “Since she’s vaxxed and boosted, her symptoms have been very, very, mild. But we’re being super cautious here at The View.” The daytime talk show opted to film remotely for the week in the midst of Goldberg’s positive test. “They say there’s no place like home for the holidays and that’s exactly where we are this year,” Behar said. “Happy New Year from all of our living rooms. As you can see, we’re back in boxes and doing the show remotely — hopefully for just a week. I’m praying that it’s just a week, but you never know because this omicron thing is all over the place.” See the stars who have tested positive for COVID-19 in 2022: ![]() The No Time to Die actor tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of his April 2 performances of Macbeth on Broadway. Katie Maloney: I Was ‘Going Through Motions’ in Tom Marriage Before Split Posted: 02 Apr 2022 09:06 AM PDT ![]() A new normal. Amid Katie Maloney's ongoing divorce from Tom Schwartz, she opened up about the nature of their split and learning to move on. "As sad and emotional [as the breakup was] I did really feel a sense of relief because I was feeling kind of bogged down. I felt like I was just going through motions," Maloney, 35, said during a Friday, April 1, episode of her "You're Gonna Love Me" podcast. "To feel that I finally said the things that were on my mind and in my heart, to get them finally out there, and to feel like I can finally move on and heal from these things was freeing to me." She continued: "It is the hardest thing I have ever done because I will always love Tom. I am always going to have so much love for him. He has been my family and my best friend and we have shared everything. I wanted to be with him forever but I felt like I was the only one in it. If you are in that position, write a pros and cons list." Maloney and the 39-year-old Bravo personality — who wed in 2016 — announced their split on March 15 after five years of marriage and more than 12 years together. "I never thought I would have to make an announcement like this. But I feel it's important that I'm open about my life with you," the Utah native wrote in an Instagram statement at the time. "After 12 years on an adventure through our life together, Tom and I are ending our marriage. This ending is not met with resentment or animosity, no sides to choose. We have deep admiration for one another that will always remain and cherish our friendship." The TomTom cofounder, who began dating Maloney ahead of the show's 2013 premiere, was equally emotional about the pair's difficult separation. "Well this sucks," Schwartz wrote via Instagram. "I'm not the victim. Not gonna write too sad a song. Fully respect Katie's decision and we've had healthy, productive conversations about it. It would be far sadder if she decided to stay with me whilst not happy." While Maloney filed divorce docs later that month, the estranged pair have remained on good terms. "I know a lot of times when people go through divorces or breakups it is really ugly. I feel really fortunate that [ours] is not," the Pucker & Pout founder told guest Raquel Leviss, who ended her engagement to James Kennedy late last year, during Friday's episode. "I do believe that it will stay this way." The twosome, who purchased a California abode together, have both kept their residency amid their split. "Obviously … this living situation is not going to be forever. We are trying to finish the repairs on our home and then we plan on listing our home, selling it and finding our own places to live," Maloney explained. “But it’s been really nice. Obviously we don’t sleep in the same room — we are kind of like roommates. We are hanging out and our friendship is intact. We have a great friendship so through this transition we can still be loving and peaceful with one another and that’s been really nice." The reality TV star has previously been candid about knowing it was the right moment to end her marriage but is already looking forward to her next chapter. "I am very optimistic and I am feeling very hopeful to see what the future holds for Katie," Maloney said on Friday. “You never know.” |
What Does Will Smith’s Academy Resignation Mean After Oscars Incident? Posted: 02 Apr 2022 08:06 AM PDT Days after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock during the 94th Academy Awards, he announced his resignation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. "I have directly responded to the Academy's disciplinary hearing notice, and I will fully accept any and all consequences for my conduct," the Men in Black star wrote in an April 2022 statement via Variety. "My actions at the 94th Academy Awards presentation were shocking, painful, and inexcusable. The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home. I betrayed the trust of the Academy." He continued: "I deprived other nominees and winners of their opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work. I am heartbroken. I want to put the focus back on those who deserve attention for their achievements and allow the Academy to get back to the incredible work it does to support creativity and artistry in film. So, I am resigning from membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and will accept any further consequences the Board deems appropriate." The Academy is comprised of a body of Hollywood executives and stars who come together to vote on the nominations and winners at the Oscars each year. Smith, for his part, was first eligible for membership in 2002 amid his Lead Actor nomination for Ali. "We have received and accepted Mr. Will Smith's immediate resignation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences," Academy President David Rubin told Us Weekly in an April 2022 statement. "We will continue to move forward with our disciplinary proceedings against Mr. Smith for violations of the Academy's Standards of Conduct, in advance of our next scheduled board meeting on April 18." During the March 2022 ceremony, Rock made headlines after joking about Jada Pinkett Smith — who married Smith in 1997 — and her shaved head, quipping that she'd be perfect for a potential G.I. Jane sequel. (Demi Moore starred in the 1997 film, playing a soldier who notably shaved her head during basic training.) The Maryland native, whose shaved head is a result of her battle with alopecia, rolled her eyes during the broadcast. Her husband, however, shocked viewers and attendees when he strolled on stage and smacked the Everybody Hates Chris creator. "Keep my wife's name out your f—king mouth," Smith yelled after returning to his seat. Smith went on to earn the coveted Best Lead Actor trophy for his role as Richard Williams — Serena Williams and Venus Williams' father — in King Richard. As he celebrated his win, the Academy kept both Smith and Rock separate. Us later confirmed that the Saturday Night Live alum had no plans to press charges. Smith has since apologized for his actions, though a source told Us that he has not spoken to Rock since the encounter. "Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night's Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable," the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum wrote in an Instagram statement days later. "I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness." Scroll below to learn how Smith's formal resignation impacts his career moving forward: ![]() Membership to the Academy is granted to film artists who produce theatrically-released movies, broken down into 17 branches based on crafts. Jay L Clendenin/Los Angeles Times/Shutterstock ![]() According to past precedent, it is likely that Smith could still hold onto his Oscar though he is no longer a member of the Academy. Sophia Bush, Bethany Joy Lenz and Hilarie Burton's Sweetest BFF Moments Posted: 02 Apr 2022 07:00 AM PDT Ravens forever! One Tree Hill may have ended in 2012, but the casts’ friendships have stood the test of time. “We've known each other for almost two decades now. Our friendships have changed immeasurably," Sophia Bush, who played Brooke Davis on the teen drama, told Us Weekly exclusively in December 2020. “We've been through so many stages of life together. But I think something that we really cherish — Hilarie and I were talking about this not too long ago — is just having, interestingly enough, as we've all gotten older, having our friendships deepen even more.” Bush, Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz — who played Peyton Sawyer and Haley James Scott, respectively — appreciate the bond they formed while working on One Tree Hill, especially considering the toxic work environment that show runner Mark Schwahn fostered on the set. “[We’re] actually friends … not fair-weather friends,” Burton said to Refinery29 in January 2017 about how the women’s experience on the show helped them stay close. “I think, underneath, there was an understanding between the two of us, like, we’re in this to win it.” She continued: “I think now, as grown-up women, we can look back, the same way Brooke and Peyton could, and be like, ‘Man, we survived some stuff together, huh?’ And that’s a good feeling. I think when you’re in the trenches with someone, whether you agree with each other at the time or not, once you’re past it, there’s a bond there you can’t deny.” The trio even reconnected to start a One Tree Hill rewatch podcast, “Drama Queens,” in June 2021. “Those girls are my family and we spend so much time together, whether it’s on FaceTime or whether we’re recording episodes of ‘Drama Queens,'” Bush told Insider in March 2022. “We’ve forged such a friendship and been able to, as a unit, reclaim so much of what was good and joyful about our first job together while taking out the respective trash.” The Chicago P.D. alum continued: “We’re just more in love with each other than we’ve ever been.” Lenz echoed those sentiments that same month, telling Variety that the podcast has been healing for them. "Our time on One Tree Hill was so tempestuous; there were so many great times and so many hard times and we were scared to go back and revisit it," the singer explained. “That's why doing the podcast has opened up all these doors inside of ourselves, to explore this new way of working together that's been so healthy and healing.” Keep scrolling to relive some of the trio’s sweetest BFF moments through the years: ![]() In November 2014, the Incredibles 2 star gushed about her years-long friendship with Lenz. "Today I'm #grateful for long lasting friendships that, like fine wine, just get better with time," Bush wrote via Instagram. Courtesy of Sophia Bush/Instagram ![]() The threesome all signed their name to an open letter published by Variety in November 2017 alleging that the show's creator, Schwahn, had sexually harassed them and many other women who worked on the show. In June 2018, Bush opened up about his misconduct during an interview on Andy Cohen's radio show, revealing that "the first time Mark Schwahn grabbed my ass, I hit him in front of six other producers, and I hit him f—cking hard." The next day, Burton retweeted an article featuring her former costar's quotes and praised her for speaking out. "My soul sister. I love you, ya gutsy, no bulls—t broad!" she wrote via twitter, to which Bush responded: "And I you, sister. #BurnItDownSis.” iHeartRadio/Drama Queens ![]() Several of Burton's One Tree Hill costars attended her October 2019 wedding to Jeffrey Dean Morgan and both Bush and Lenz commemorated the occasion on Instagram. "My Missy sister is a Mrs WIFE! It was perfect. Just like them," Bush wrote at the time, while Lenz gushed in a post of her own that she and her costars are "family for life." "I couldn’t be happier," she continued. "My sis got hitched in the BEST WAY. @hilarieburton you were stunning and I wept my way through the night watching you and @jeffreydeanmorgan choose each other forever. Your family & journey is a gift to everyone you meet. CONGRATULATIONS to the coolest brood I’ve ever met. I’m seriously inspired." Courtesy of Sophia Bush/Instagram ![]() "I thought the story line between Peyton and Brooke was the love story of the show. The love stories with all the boys, those were fun, those were important, but Sophia and I had to fight for our own friendship," Burton confessed in May 2020 during an appearance on the "Chicks in the Office" podcast. "A lot of people wanted to pit us against each other. ... She and I now can look back at it and be like, ‘All those bastards. No, no, no. We’re the love story.' The female friendships were important on that show." Dave Allocca/Starpix/Shutterstock ![]() While reflecting on her decades-long bond with her former costars, Bush told Us that they understand each other better than anyone else. “We all got to go through this wild ride together and it’s a thing that’s ours. No one else can really share it with us in the way that we can,” the Love, Victor actress said in December 2020. “It’s such a special thing to leave a journey like that and maintain really deep and trusted connections and we all are able to support each other and inspire each other and it’s something I just really cherish.” Courtesy of Sophia Bush/Instagram ![]() The Good Sam star recruited her two friends to appear on an episode of the medical drama that aired in March 2022. "I think it was probably just me gabbing about the girls so often that led to my wonderful showrunner, Katie Wech, seeing an interview ... where I said, ‘Oh, my God, if the ‘Drama Queens’ came on Good Sam, I would die. It would be the best thing in the world,’” Bush told Variety. “She texted me and said, ‘Hey, you’re going to get the script for 108 and there’s these two sisters in it. Should we get Joy and Hilarie to come do it?'" "We’ve always been like, ‘Leave us alone! Let us do other stuff together,'" the John Tucker Must Die star told Variety. Impractical Jokers' Joe Gatto and Bessy Gatto: The Way They Were Posted: 02 Apr 2022 05:59 AM PDT Joe Gatto shocked his Impractical Jokers‘ viewers when he announced that he was departing the comedy series amid his split from wife Bessy Gatto. Longtime fans of the truTV hit series got to see the couple make several appearances on Impractical Jokers since its debut in 2011. Joe, who formed the Tenderloins comedy troupe alongside James "Murr" Murray, Brian "Q" Quinn and Sal Vulcano, also used social media to highlight his relationship with Bessy. Three years after Bessy relocated from California to New York to live with Joe, the duo tied the knot in 2013. They welcomed their daughter, Milana Francis, in 2015 and their son, Remington James, in 2017. In November 2019, the comedian gushed about his family in a loving tribute inspired by the holiday season. “On a day that's always been about family in my life, I am thankful. These 3 humans make me the happiest guy in the world. From the quirky daughter to snuggly son to the most loving and lovable partner in the universe,” he wrote in a lengthy Instagram post. “I hope all of you out there enjoy your day with your family. And if it's not a happy situation for you this year I hope you stay strong and get through this one and start your journey to a better one next year.” Weeks before Joe and Bessy announced their decision to go their separate ways, the Misery Index alum shared his appreciation for his wife’s love of animals. “This is what rescue looks like at the Gatto house. Each day all the seniors get some serious quality time with the Momma of the pack,” he captioned a photo of Bessy surrounded by their pets via Instagram in December 2021. “Such a big, beautiful heart on this wife of mine.” Later that month, Joe confirmed that his breakup led to him dropping out of Impractical Jokers ahead of season 10. “Sorry in advance for the long and more-serious-than-usual note below, I just wanted to let you all know that I will no longer be involved with Impractical Jokers,” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “Alongside my friends, I've devoted a decade of my life to building this franchise and couldn't be prouder of what has been accomplished. However, due to some issues in my personal life, I have to step away. Bessy and I have decided to amicably part ways, so now I need to focus on being the best father and coparent to our two incredible kids.” In the statement, Joe reflected on his bond with his friends and costars, adding, “Outside of my family, my relationships with Murr, Q and Sal have been the most important in my life. I know they will continue to make the world laugh. And even though the four of us are the ones who you all see, this show is only possible due to the hard work of the talented crew members who work behind the scenes. I am very thankful to have worked with each and every one of them.” Joe concluded his note by thanking his supporters as he prepares to work through “the challenges I am facing,” writing, “They say that laughter is the best medicine, and I hope I've been able to provide some of that over the last decade. Seeing you laugh has been my own medicine, particularly in these weird and difficult times we find ourselves.” Scroll down to relive Joe and Bessy’s relationship: ![]() The duo started dating in 2009. RHOBH’s Garcelle Beauvais: A Day in My Life! Posted: 02 Apr 2022 05:00 AM PDT Garcelle Beauvais is just like Us! The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 55, works hard to balance her professional aspirations with running a healthy household every day. The Real cohost starts off her morning with a little self-care in the form of beauty maintenance. Beauvais wakes up early — at 6 a.m. — to get rid of her under eye puffiness by placing patches on her face. Next up is a home gym session. "I like to jump-start my heart early in the day," Beauvais exclusively says in the new issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now. "It gives me the energy I need to get through my busy day." The Haitian-American model fills the majority of her morning and afternoon with work calls, events or tapings. However, the best part of her day is seeing her twin sons, Jax and Jaid, 14, whom she shares with ex-husband Mike Nilon. (The duo split in 2011 after 10 years of marriage.) "Time for my parental duties!" Beauvais gushes to Us, referring to her 2:30 p.m. pickup time. "My favorite time of day is when I pick up my boys from school." While the NYPD Blue alum likes to stay busy during the day, she tells Us that she enjoys spending time solo toward the end of the night. "I love my 'me' time," she says of relaxing on the couch, noting that she will often "throw in a glass of wine" during her unwinding time. Despite her already packed schedule, Beauvais can't help but add more things to her plate, including her jewelry collaboration with accessories brand Roni Blanshay, which she worked on last year. "Like most women today, I have an extremely hectic lifestyle which calls for a lot of multitasking," the businesswoman exclusively told Us in May 2021 of the venture. "I feel that wearing even the smallest piece of jewelry helps accentuate a woman's style and adds a touch of polish to her overall look. It makes us walk a little taller and smile a little bigger to know that we're wearing something beautiful." The Caught in His Web actress wanted every piece to not only empower women in their day-to-day activities, but also explore "what a woman in power looks like." She told Us at the time, "I'm creating my own reimagined history with a carefully curated collection of jewelry pieces that can give a little sparkle and loads of confidence to any woman, from breakfast to the boardroom." Beauvais' powerful persona is evident in all her work, including her time in front of the camera on RHOBH. Last month, the reality star exclusively teased what fans can expect from season 12 — and from the infamous Aspen, Colorado, vacation the women went on earlier this year. "Aspen was off the chain. That's all I'm saying," she dished during a February appearance on Us' "Getting Real With the Housewives" podcast. "I don't know how we pack so much in[to] three days."
