Bachelor Clayton Slams Critique He 'Said the Same Thing' to His Finalists Posted: 09 Mar 2022 07:03 PM PST ![]() Explaining himself. Clayton Echard is speaking out about the backlash he received after sending Susie Evans home on the Tuesday, March 8, episode of The Bachelor. In an exclusive preview clip obtained by Us Weekly, the Missouri native, 28, spoke to Kaitlyn Bristowe during the Thursday, March 10, episode of her "Off the Vine" podcast about the criticism he's faced from fans — and how exactly he reacted to his own behavior when he watched the episode as it aired. "I compartmentalized, I guess, too well to the point where I was just all in with these women," he told the former Bachelorette, 36, of professing his love to all three finalists: Susie, 28, Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey. "And that was the thing people said … 'He’s saying the same thing to multiple women.'" Clayton countered these claims, alleging he was earnest in telling the three women he loved them. "I'm only one person. I mean, I don’t have a different vocabulary depending on who I’m talking to," he explained. "So I felt these feelings of love and they were genuine — if anything I felt so similar with every one of the connections that that’s why the same things were being said, because I felt that way genuinely." As for the former football player's reaction when Susie became upset after he confessed that he slept with Rachel, 26, and Gabby, 32 — and told them that he was falling in love with them — Clayton explained that too. "All three of the women said, ‘I want you to explore the other relationships fully,’ almost verbatim," he told Bristowe, adding that he "assumed" that everyone would be OK with the arrangement — and soon realized that was a "big mistake." "I looked at it like if these women stick around and watch me kiss other women in front of them — which would never be acceptable in the real world — then these real-world boundaries are kind of set aside and there’s a new playing field in this environment," he shared. "When I was [later] sitting alone in my room, that’s when it hit me. I was like, 'You’re in a deep spot, you’re in a really bad spot. You have told three women now that you’re in love and how do you think this is going to end?'" Clayton also added that he was "embarrassed" about his reaction to Susie, who was deeply upset when she discovered that he had slept with both Rachel and Gabby and confessed his love to them. "You just dropped a bombshell on me, and I don't agree with it at all how you went about it. I think it's BS," the Bachelor told the fitness instructor on Tuesday's episode. "I'm sorry that I even raised my voice. It's because I cared so much, I really did love you. … Anything you say to me at this point doesn't matter to me anymore, so I'm going to walk you out. I don't even know who I'm looking at anymore." Reflecting on that moment, the University of Missouri alum told Bristowe, "I was shocked that I couldn’t see her side." For her part, Bristowe took to Instagram on Tuesday to share her own thoughts on the situation. "I'm just going to speak from personal experience … when you're in that position, you are making a life-altering decision," the season 11 Bachelorette said via Instagram Stories. "You genuinely fall in love with more [than one] person, so why would you not be intimate with more than one person and when you're trying to find the person to spend the rest of your life with? Why do we judge so hard on this?" Clayton Echard's full episode of "Off the Vine" drops on PodcastOne Thursday, March 10. The Bachelor concludes with a two-part finale on ABC Monday, March 14, and Tuesday, March 15, at 8 p.m. ET. |
Duchess Camilla and Charles Have Photos of Harry and Meghan in London Home Posted: 09 Mar 2022 04:57 PM PST Keeping them close. Duchess Camilla gave fans a rare glimpse into her home with Prince Charles, including which photos of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are on display. The Duchess of Cornwall, 74, welcomed rowers Kat Cordiner, Abby Johnston and Charlotte Irving to Clarence House on Tuesday, March 8, to learn about their money-raising initiative to assist cancer charities. Camilla enjoyed tea with the women while listening to their story about their trip across the Atlantic Ocean. The trio broke a world record after rowing 3,000 miles in 42 days to go from the Canaries to Antigua. During the event, she managed to show off parts of her living room, which featured multiple family portraits. In one corner of the room, a snap from Harry and Meghan's 2018 nuptials can be seen. The photograph shows Charles, 73, escorting his new daughter-in-law, 40, down the aisle at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. Another visible photo of Harry, now 37, is a solo shot from the prince's 2014 appearance at the Invictus Games. Prince William's family is represented throughout the space as well. The Prince of Wales can be seen holding his eldest grandson, Prince George, at his 2013 christening in a photo on a table near the doorway. A group shot from Prince Louis' christening in 2018 sits beside it. William, 39, also shares daughter Princess Charlotte with wife Duchess Kate. A black-and-white portrait of Charles' mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and his late father, Prince Philip, is nestled beside what appears to be a jewelry box and a vintage lamp on a separate side table. Chandeliers, a golden clock and paintings of a variety of subjects adorn the living room mantle. More colorful pieces of art hang on the walls amid the treasures of years past. Camilla's rare look at her home life with Charles — and photos of his children and grandchildren — comes two months after the future king gave Harry a shout-out in Newsweek amid their recent ups and downs. Charles and Harry have been at odds since the former military pilot and former Suits star stepped down from their royal duties in January 2020. The twosome then relocated to the U.S. and chose to live outside of the royal family with their two children, Archie, 2, and Lili, 9 months. Despite tensions in the family — which was made worse in March 2021 after Harry and Meghan spoke out against The Firm during a tell-all interview — Charles praised his boys in January for their climate change work. "Charles has made a point of mentioning both his sons. So, I think that's perhaps a peace offering, let's say in the court of public opinion, played out in a magazine, which appears to be the way that Meghan and Harry like to do things," royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti exclusively told Us Weekly at the time. "So in a sense, he's making a peace offering, and he is doing it on their turf. That is, to say, in the public gaze." Elissa Lorenn: Why I Didn’t Report Alleged Matthew Rondeau Attack to Police Posted: 09 Mar 2022 04:14 PM PST ![]() Elissa Lorenn is speaking out after Matthew Rondeau allegedly attacked her during his then-girlfriend Shanna Moakler's appearance on Celebrity Big Brother. The 21-year-old told Us Weekly that Rondeau, 29, called their mutual friend Shayan Siren in early February and claimed that he discovered Moakler, 46, "was cheating on him." (Moakler previously denied other claims about cheating in her relationship.) "[He] asked us to come hang out with him. Like, 'You guys should come over. I don’t want to be alone. You can come in the hot tub,'" Lorenn alleged. "I was like, 'OK, whatever, poor guy. Like, sure, let’s go.'" Lorenn claimed that Rondeau was "drunk" and "hitting his weed pen" when she and Siren arrived at Moakler's home. "We were in the hot tub," she alleged. "It was like you’re joking with him and whatever, it’s fun, we’re laughing, and then there was this switch and his eyes glazed over and you’re like, 'Oh, s–t,' and he’s grabbing my face and making out with me in front of my friend Shayan." ![]() Lorenn alleged that the actor made "sexual advances" toward her when she went inside the house to get a phone charger. "He walked up to me and pushes me against the wall, slaps me, chokes me," she claimed, adding that she called for a car and left once she was able to use her phone again. After the alleged incident, Lorenn decided not to go to the police. "I am a trans woman and we go through stuff, and I guess at the time I was in a little bit of shock over the whole situation," she said. "It took me a minute to really even just wrap [my mind] around things." Siren allegedly did not tell Moakler the story until after Rondeau was arrested later that month. "I literally had scratch marks and bruises, and my face was like I couldn’t even put makeup on the next day because tapping a beauty blender on my face was immense pain. It was so rough to touch," Lorenn claimed. "It’s a lot. Listen, I spent a few hours with him — Shanna has spent however many years with him. I don’t know what their relationship entails, but if she’s going through a larger-scale version of what I went through in one night, that breaks my heart. No one really deserves to go through that. That’s obviously so upsetting." Rondeau was arrested for felony domestic violence in February after an altercation with Moakler. Shortly before he was taken into custody, he went on an expletive-filled Instagram Live rant about her and accused her of cheating on him. A source told Us at the time that his allegations were not true. The model denied that he was violent with the reality star after his arrest. "You know I'd never lay a hand on another woman. My mother is my angel and my best friend. She raised me right," he wrote via his Instagram Story, adding that the "love of [his] life has made [him] out to be the villain." An insider told Us in February that Moakler was "completely done" with Rondeau following the ordeal. She was issued an emergency protective order against him after his arrest. The TV personality told Us earlier this month that the situation was "very difficult," explaining that she "lost the man that I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with and my best friend." Moakler later told People on Thursday, March 3, that she "took a pregnancy test and it [was] positive." She is already the mother of daughter Atiana, 22, with ex-boyfriend Oscar De La Hoya and son Landon, 18, and daughter Alabama, 16, with ex-husband Travis Barker. Us has reached out to Rondeau for comment on Lorenn's accusations. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 for confidential support. With reporting by Diana Cooper |
