Every Time Kanye West Dissed Pete Davidson After Kim K. Romance Began Posted: 02 Mar 2022 04:45 PM PST Continuing the feud. As Kim Kardashian's romance with Pete Davidson has continued to heat up, her estranged husband, Kanye West, has attacked his ex's new man on social media and in song. The Yeezy designer made headlines in February 2022, claiming his Donda 2 partnership with Kid Cudi had been terminated over the Ohio native's friendship with the Saturday Night Live star. "Just so everyone knows Cudi will not be on Donda because he's friends with you know who," West wrote on lined paper, which he then shared via Instagram in a now-deleted post. "We all speak in Billie [Eilish] language now." Cudi, for his part, replied: "Too bad I don't wanna be on ur album u f—in dinosaur hahaha. Everyone knows I've been the best thing about ur albums since I met u. Ima pray for u brother." West later doubled down on the pair's beef when he shared a series of lengthy Instagram disses one day later, even alleging that Davidson — who began dating the Skims mogul in late 2021 — is unable to meet his four children with Kardashian: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. "NO YOU WILL NEVER MEET MY CHILDREN," the Illinois native wrote via Instagram one day after his post slamming Kid Cudi, sharing what appeared to be a text message exchange with the Guy Code alum. Davidson allegedly wrote via text: "As a man, I'd never get [in the] way of your children. That's a promise. How you guys [go about] raising your kids is your [business] and not mine. I do hope [one] day I can meet them and we [can] all be friends." While neither Davidson nor Kardashian immediately addressed the record producer's claims, West alleged his account had not been "hacked" nor did anyone else post the recent allegations on his feed. "MY ACCOUNT IS NOT HACKED," West wrote via Instagram shortly after sharing the text message screenshot, alongside a snap of himself holding up a piece of paper with the date. "I WILL BE AT SUNDAY SERVICE AT NOON AND WILL [be] TAKING NORTH AND SAINT TO THE SUPERBOWL SHORTLY AFTER. [Michael Che] I'LL DOUBLE WHATEVER THEY PAYING YOU JUST SO YOU DONT HAVE TO LOOK AT THAT PAWN EVER AGAIN BIG LOVE." The Big Time Adolescence star and the Selfish author were first linked in October 2021, weeks after connecting on the set of SNL. "Kim and Pete are getting serious. Things have definitely escalated quickly but in a healthy, fun way," an insider exclusively told Us Weekly in December 2021. "Right now, they are just enjoying their time together and seeing where things go." Ahead of Kardashian's new romance, she filed for divorce from West in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage. Though she’s moved on, Kardashian hoped the pair could amicably coparent their four children, even referring to herself as West's "biggest cheerleader" in Vogue's March 2022 cover story. "You could be so hurt or angry at your ex, but I think in front of the kids, it always has to be 'Your dad's the best.' … No matter what you're personally going through," the KKW Beauty entrepreneur said at the time. "For so long, I did what made other people happy and I think in the last two years I decided, I'm going to make myself happy. And that feels really good. … I think it's important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy. I've chosen myself. I think it's OK to choose you." The "Heartless" performer — who has since been linked to Julia Fox — has continued to allege that he wanted his family back together. Scroll below to see what West has said about the comedian: ![]() West called out Davidson by name in his “My Life Was Never Eazy” single with The Game. “God saved me from the crash just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass,” the rapper crooned in the song, which debuted in January 2022. "HOLD YOUR SPOUSE CLOSE MAKE SURE THEY KNOW HOW MUCH YOU LOVE AND APPRECIATE THEM BECAUSE THERES A SKETE LURKING IN EVERY DIRTY ASS ALLEY WAITING TO HELP DESTROY YOUR FAMILY AND WALK AROUND IN CALVIN KLEINS AROUND YOUR CHILDREN," he wrote in part. He continued, adding, "I WISH MY WIFE WAS WITH ME AND OUR CHILDREN SITTING AT THE 50 YARD LINE @kimkardashian ALWAYS REMEMBER WEST WAS YOUR BIGGEST W." The rapper captioned the Instagram post, "UPON MY WIFE'S REQUEST PLEASE NOBODY DO ANYTHING PHYSICAL TO SKETE IM GOING TO HANDLE THE SITUATION MYSELF." He also posted another screenshot of him seemingly responding to his estranged wife, writing, "I will always do everything to protect you and our family forever. And I listened to you and told everyone to make sure nothing physical happens to Skete." Later that night, West shared another screenshot of a text allegedly sent by his ex. "Why can't you keep any of our conversations private???" she asked. West responded, "Because I got a text from my favorite person in the world," adding that he is her "number one fan." He continued, asking, "Why wouldn't I tell everyone!!!!!" Shutterstock (3) |
'Having Fun'! Inside Miley Cyrus's 'New' Relationship With Maxx Morando Posted: 02 Mar 2022 04:18 PM PST Her heart beats for love! Nearly two years after Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson called it quits on their whirlwind romance, she has moved on with Maxx Morando. "It’s a new relationship. They’re still getting to know each other at the moment," a source exclusively tells Us Weekly of the Hannah Montana alum, 29, and the drummer, 23. "They're having fun and have been spending a lot of time together." The insider adds that the twosome are "very compatible with each other" and have a lot in common in terms of music and their careers. "They’re exploring things and seeing where it goes," the source continues. The "Wrecking Ball" songstress and the Lilly musician were first spotted together in Miami on New Year's Eve while she was filming NBC’s Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party alongside Saturday Night Live‘s Pete Davidson. While the newly dating pair have yet to publicly address their burgeoning romance, Cyrus was last linked to Simpson, 25. After nearly one year together, Us confirmed in August 2020 that they called it quits. "Today it came out that me and my boyfriend have broken up," the Disney Channel alum explained during an Instagram Live session at the time. "For right now, two halves can't make a whole, and we're individually just working on ourselves, becoming the people that we want to be. Like everybody else at this age, we're just deciding who we want to be with our lives, what we want to do with our lives. And so, don't make it some drama story if next week we hang out and we're getting pizza. We've been friends for 10 years, and we're going to continue to be friends. Just don't make it something that it is not." The Australia native later opened up about their breakup, noting that they remained on good terms. "Everything ended fairly amicably. It was just one of those phases I guess you go through and you learn a lot from it," the "Pretty Brown Eyes" crooner said during a 60 Minutes Australia interview in May 2021. "I'd known her for a long time at that point. She'd kind of acted almost as, like — not as a mentor, but she was always a heightened creative person. We went from kind of being good friends and just having a lot of the same friends to being together for a while." The Last Song star was previously married to former costar Liam Hemsworth before they separated in August 2019. The divorce was finalized in January 2020. "When I come home, I want to be anchored by someone," Cyrus said during a December 2020 appearance on The Howard Stern Show, noting there was "too much conflict" in their marriage. "I don't get off on drama or fighting. … You're attracted to that heat, and me being an intense person and not wanting to sit with it, and not wanting to go, you know, 'What could be purposeful about this?' I just clung to what I had left of that house, which was me and him. And I really do and did love him very, very, very much and still do, always will." With reporting by Diana Cooper |
Teddi Mellencamp Hasn’t Spoken to Todrick Hall Since ‘Big Brother' Backlash Posted: 02 Mar 2022 02:47 PM PST Radio silence. Teddi Mellencamp hasn’t spoken to fellow Celebrity Big Brother alum Todrick Hall since the show ended — and she’s OK with that. “I made it very clear where I stand,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 40, exclusively told Us Weekly on Wednesday, March 2, while promoting her “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast. “I was never fake to him. I was always straightforward.” The Indiana native clashed with the choreographer, 36, early on in season 3 of Celebrity Big Brother, which aired last month. Mellencamp initially formed an alliance with Hall, Carson Kressley, Mirai Nagasu, Cynthia Bailey and Shanna Moakler, but it fell apart after tension with the American Idol alum. “A lot of people that didn’t watch the live feeds are a little bit confused on what went down, but he went past playing the game,” the former Bravo personality told Us. “I understand it’s a game, and you should play it with your full heart and do what you gotta do, and there’s gonna be alliance switches and all of that. But it’s the things he said about a lot of us personally that weren’t necessary. It was taking it too far.” The wellness coach also hinted that viewers missed out on clashes that happened before the live feeds started. “There was a lot of drama in the house prior to us going live, and he just really fed into it in a very toxic way,” she claimed. After becoming the first houseguest evicted from the game, Mellencamp told Us that Hall had never really wanted to work with her. “I didn't realize, but I guess our relationship was never actually real because from the very get-go, even when we formed our alliance, he had already been telling people in my alliance that he didn't want me in there," she explained in February. During the season finale last week, Mellencamp pointedly didn’t acknowledge Hall’s second-place finish after winner Miesha Tate was crowned. “I didn’t even go over because I can’t be fake like that,” the All In by Teddi founder told Us on Wednesday. “That’s not who I am. So, I was like, ‘I’ll just make it clear that I drew my line in the sand right here.'” Though she wasn’t pleased with her costar’s behavior on the show, she’s not particularly interested in hearing from him now. “I’m gonna give him the benefit of the doubt that hopefully he is gonna see some of the things and realize he made some mistakes,” she told Us. “I don’t care about him personally apologizing to me. There [are] people that he said way worse things about. I think they’re a priority.” For now, Mellencamp is focusing on her podcast, which she cohosts with fellow Real Housewives alum Tamra Judge. The California native, 54, was a cast member on The Real Housewives of Orange County from seasons 3 through 14. “We have so much fun,” Mellencamp told Us of the podcast, which often features interviews with other Housewives and plenty of commentary on the franchise. “We have very similar views on certain things. … We are like two girls chatting at coffee.” With reporting by Christina Garibaldi |
Bill and Melinda Gates’ Love Story Revisited: A Timeline Posted: 02 Mar 2022 02:30 PM PST Bill Gates and Melinda Gates announced their plans to divorce in May 2021, which came as a shock to many after they shared 27 years of marriage. "After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage," they shared in a statement on May 3. "Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives. We continue to share a believer in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives." The couple met in 1987 when Melinda started working at Microsoft, the company Bill founded. "She had other boyfriends, and I had Microsoft," Bill said in the 2019 Netflix miniseries Inside Bill's Brain. "We were like, 'Hey we are not really serious about each other, are we? We are not going to demand each other's time.'" Eventually, after the romance got serious, Bill made a pro/con list for whether he should propose (really), and they decided to embark on a life together. Bill and Melinda married in 1994 at a Hawaiian destination wedding. The two welcomed their first child, daughter Jennifer in 1996. Son Rory arrived in 1999 and daughter Phoebe followed in 2002. Though the mother of three eventually stepped back from her job at Microsoft after nine years, she continued working with her husband. They launched the earliest version of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 1994, and the philanthropic organization — which focuses on global health, education, access to digital information via public libraries, and support for at-risk families — is still thriving. “Working together as well as raising a family together, there's a certain intensity to that. But we're very lucky because we mostly see things the same way, the goals are very much the same,” Bill said in a 2019 Facebook Live. The Texas native praised the Microsoft founder for sharing the workload with her, whether that meant dropping kids off at school or doing dishes. "I think people have a certain view of Bill, because he was a high-charging CEO running Microsoft," the author told USA Today while promoting her book, The Moment of Lift: How Empowering Women Changes the World in 2019. "I think people must think, 'Oh well, Melinda must not really have equality with Bill.’ Actually, I have total equality with Bill. But it took a while for us to get there." Daughter Jennifer, a second-year medical student at Stanford, acknowledged her parents' split in a statement on Instagram. "It's been a challenging stretch of time for our whole family," she wrote in an Instagram Story at the time. "I'm still learning how to best support my own process and emotions as well as family members at this time, and am grateful for the space to do so. I won't personally comment further on anything around the separation, but please know that your kind words and support mean the world to me." According to documents obtained by Us Weekly, the court found that the "marriage is irretrievably broken." The judge ordered both parties to comply with the terms of their separation contract but did not award any financial judgment or spousal support. The court also found that the division of property and personal property that the former couple agreed upon is "fair (just and equitable)." No child supported was ordered, either, as the pair's three children are all legal adults. There just came a point in time where there was enough there that I realized it just wasn’t healthy and I couldn’t trust what we had.”Melinda also acknowledged how “painful” the pair’s split was, adding that being “angry” was “part of the grieving process.” However, she “started on this journey of healing” and felt like she was finally “turning a page in the chapter.” Blondet Eliot/ABACA/INSTAR; RONALD WITTEK/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock |
Shanna Moakler: It’s Been ‘Difficult’ Since Ex Matthew Rondeau’s Arrest Posted: 02 Mar 2022 02:22 PM PST Trying to heal. Shanna Moakler is understandably still dealing with the aftermath of the domestic violence arrest of her on-and-off boyfriend Matthew Rondeau. "It’s very difficult because it's, like, I just lost the man that I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with and my best friend," the former beauty queen, 46, exclusively tells Us Weekly, noting that they had been seriously talking about marriage. "I had a plan for my life. … Now I don’t know where I’m at in my world, so I’m trying to get the help that I need to get myself back on track and in a good headspace so I can move forward." Rondeau, 29, whom the Rhode Island native had been dating on and off since 2020, was arrested on Thursday, February 24, for felony domestic violence after an altercation in which, according to the police report obtained by Us, he grabbed her by her hair, threw a chair at her and urinated on her, leaving visible injuries. He spent six hours in jail. "Today was one of the most heartbreaking days of my life," Rondeau wrote after his release. "To my family and friends, I just want you to know I love you so so much. You know I'd never lay a hand on another woman. My mother is my angel and my best friend. She raised me right." Moakler obtained an emergency protective order against her former partner, which she tells Us she plans on extending. She also confirms that she has not spoken to Rondeau since the incident. The morning of his arrest, Rondeau had taken Moakler's phone and streamed live from her Instagram account, yelling obscenities in an alarming rant about how she was allegedly unfaithful to him, among other things. "I definitely was not having an affair with my neighbor," Moakler tells Us. "I think those were things that were being said in a heated emotional state. He was obviously confused. He was obviously upset. He obviously was acting like a crazy person but … I think he deals with highs and lows and he was just having a low and that doesn’t make his behavior acceptable, and I hope he can see that because this isn’t someone I can just turn my feelings off. I was just engaged to this man a week ago. I do understand I need to take care of myself, and I need to go get the help that I need to work through this because I never experienced anything like that myself." She adds that she's "highly concerned" by the death threats his family has received: "He’s not a monster. He’s a good person who’s going through a difficult time, and I’m not condoning the video or any actions, but I think attacking someone’s family with small children is not the way to heal this, or even to bring awareness to these types of situations. I do hope that we are able to both get the support we both need to get healthy. And I don’t even mean together, I’m just saying as individuals." The night prior to the domestic violence dispute, the couple were "fine," according to Moakler, while attending a Celebrity Big Brother afterparty. In fact, he had told her in their hotel room, "Let’s do this. Let’s get married." But things later escalated. She explains, "I get why people are feeling the way they’re feeling, and I understand why that may have triggered people, but I don’t think these are just black and white sort of situations." Rondeau, a model, has since been dropped by his talent agents. "Thank you everyone who called and harassed all my wonderful Agents everyday to the point that they had to let me go. I hope you feel really good about yourself when you ALL find out I'm NOT guilty and f–king pray that Karma doesn't crawl right up your ass. Lol," he wrote via Instagram Story on Tuesday, March 1, after returning home from a weekend in Las Vegas. "It's difficult because I was just getting engaged to this man," Moakler tells Us, adding, "His family is people that I absolutely love and respect. They’re wonderful people. They have small children. I’m asking to please stop harassing this family. The only parties that need to take responsibility are Matthew and I, and that’s what I’m hoping he’s doing, and that’s definitely what I’m going to be doing." She concludes, "I know the video that he posted has triggered a lot of emotion for a lot of people, and understandably, but I think when someone’s at a low – and I think Matthew is somebody that has highs and lows – and needs to get help for that, I don’t think abusing them as well and destroying them is the medicine he needs at this moment." If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 for confidential support. With reporting by Diana Cooper |
Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney is Engaged! Posted: 02 Mar 2022 02:19 PM PST ![]() Updated 3/2/22 5:15 p.m. ET: Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney is engaged to Jonathan Davino, Us Weekly can confirm. Original story below: A major milestone? Although Sydney Sweeney was spotted showing off a surprising hairstyle change, it was the massive diamond ring that had people talking. The Euphoria star, 24, was photographed on Monday, February 28, with red hair and a large sparkler on her left ring finger, according to photos obtained by Page Six. The sighting quickly sparked speculation that Sweeney was engaged to restaurateur Jonathan Davino, four years after the duo were first linked. The pair were recently spotted spending time together with friends in Los Angeles last month. Davino, 37, is the co-owner of a restaurant called Mista Pizza with his father. The Chicago native is also the sole heir to the Pompeii pizza company. Sweeney has previously been candid about the ups and downs that she faced when starting to date. "There was a period there where my parents tried to shield me as much as possible from the pain and the financial stress. They didn’t explain things to me, and that made me angry," the Everything Sucks! alum recalled during an interview with C Magazine in November 2021. “So I acted out, but not in the way you would think. I was a straight A student in all AP classes. I was valedictorian. I never went to a high school party. I’ve never done drugs, to this day. The acting out Syd tried to find love through boys. I got myself into sometimes really unfortunate and even dangerous relationships.” The Washington native noted that she got to a better place when she learned to prioritize herself, adding, "Being able to love yourself before allowing anyone else to love you — that’s where true happiness and healthiness comes from. It’s a part of my own life that I wish I could go back to." The Handmaid’s Tale alum later revealed that not dating “people in the spotlight” was a big dealbreaker for her. "I don’t date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it’s easiest," she detailed to Cosmopolitan in February 2022. "I have a great support system. I have people who will battle for me and allow me to be on the pedestal and shine without making me feel like, ‘Oh no, I’m shining too bright and I need to step back.'” She added: “I look for a best friend. I need to be able to be with someone who I can literally hang out with 24/7 and never get sick of and we laugh every single day.” As Sweeney’s off screen dating life continues to be a topic of conversation, so does her character Cassie Howard’s on Euphoria. During season 2, Cassie found herself wrapped up in a relationship with her friend Maddy’s (Alexa Demie) ex-boyfriend Nate (Jacob Elordi). As the shocking love triangle played out, Sweeney’s scene partner gushed about getting to work with her on bringing the story to life. “Every time I was in, I was in with her, and vice versa. And she’s so, so good at what she does that it was just such a treat the entire time working with her. She brings it every single take, every single scene,” Elordi, 24, shared with Entertainment Weekly in January. “And they’re always intense scenes with her as well, but we had so much fun. We got to play all kinds of different dynamics from that first meeting, and so it was such a treat working with her.” |
Love Is Blind’s Jarrette Jones and Iyanna McNeely's Relationship Timeline Posted: 02 Mar 2022 02:17 PM PST Love really is blind! After Jarrette Jones and Iyanna McNeely connected in the Love Is Blind season 2 pods, their romance has continued to flourish. "I feel so understood with you," Iyanna tearfully began in her wedding vows during the Love Is Blind finale, which started streaming in February 2022. "I feel so loved by you and that has never happened. I just feel like I'm supposed to be with you. You were made for me and I was made for you." The Chicago residents initially connected in the pods, quickly forging a strong bond after sharing their vulnerabilities. However, Jarrette also had strong feelings for fellow contestant Mallory Zapata. "Earlier this week, I was going back and forth between Mallory and Iyanna but other the past couple days, I've gained clarity," the health care consultant opened up in a confessional interview via the third episode. "I can definitely see myself proposing and having a life with Iyanna, but I want to propose to Mallory and it's gonna feel crazy, you know. I'm gonna feel a whirlwind of emotions." Mallory eventually turned Jarrette down, later accepting a proposal from Salvador "Sal" Perez. (The pair broke off their engagement during the finale.) Following his rejection from Mallory, Jarrette went back to Iyanna, citing her consistent love and support before he popped the question. "Some things are better left unsaid…But seeing her for the first time truly left me speechless…," Jarette gushed via Instagram in February 2022, sharing footage from their first in-person meeting. Since their final decision, the twosome have continued to work on their marriage and exclusively opened up about where things stand with Us Weekly. "My logic was telling me, 'I don’t know this man and I don’t know if I can trust him when he says that he’s gonna make me the priority,'" the program coordinator recalled to Us of her relationship. "But right after Mexico, it was no longer an issue for us. We were kind of just focused on us." Iyanna continued at the time: "And then, thankfully, with the ex-girlfriend thing, we were able to come to a conclusion and he heard me out. He heard my concerns and he ultimately showed me that I was a priority. So by the time we got to wedding day, I was really just in the feels. I was just really excited and really just ready to get it done." Kanye's Lawyer Attempts to Clarify 'Mistruths' After Kim K. Divorce Hearing Posted: 02 Mar 2022 01:45 PM PST Not over yet? Kim Kardashian was officially granted single status more than one year after filing for divorce from Kanye West — and now his lawyer is speaking out. Samantha Spector, the fourth attorney to represent the 44-year-old rapper, issued a statement to Us Weekly on behalf of her client following a virtual court hearing on Wednesday, March 2, as an attempt “to dispel a few mistruths” regarding the outcome. “Kanye’s paperwork has always indicated that his problems with the divorce [were] only procedural,” the statement claimed, noting that an “official” comment from West would not be released at this time. “Moreover, he was always in support of the divorce only if Kim satisfied the procedural requirements to protect rights under the [California] law — the same rights afforded to any litigant going through a divorce.” The lawyer continued: “Today it was determined and addressed in court that Kim initially did not have the proper paperwork to get the bifurcation of the marital status. As mentioned in our statement yesterday, Ye is focusing his entire attention to their children.” Us confirmed on Wednesday that Kardashian, 41, was granted a name change during the hearing after previously requesting to drop her married name. The Yeezy designer was not in attendance, but his lawyer did not object to the judge declaring Kardashian single. West previously outlined a series of conditions he wanted met before moving forward with the divorce proceedings, including the right to be reimbursed funds that will be divided between the exes in case either party dies. A judge signed off on the request on Wednesday, per TMZ. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum and the Grammy winner were married for nearly seven years before their February 2021 split. The twosome share daughters North, 8, and Chicago, 4, and sons Saint, 6, and Psalm, 2. Last month, the California native claimed in court docs obtained by Us that her focus was on “peacefully coparenting” with West despite his recent social media rants. “I very much desire to be divorced,” the Skims CEO argued in the February filing. “I have asked Kanye to keep our divorce private, but he has not done so. Kanye has been putting a lot of misinformation regarding our private family matters and coparenting on social media which has created emotional distress.” West previously made headlines for his comments about Kardashian’s boyfriend, Pete Davidson, who she began dating in October 2021. Though the musician was briefly linked to Julia Fox earlier this year — and has been spotted with multiple women who bear a striking resemblance to his former spouse, including Chaney Jones — he’s made it clear that he wants to keep his family together. The reality star, for her part, is leaning on the Saturday Night Live star, 28, amid the drama. “Kim and Pete are very much excited about what the future holds for them as a couple,” a source exclusively told Us in February. “They’re refusing to let it derail or distract them as a couple.” |
Who Is Luke Grimes? 5 Things to Know About the ‘Yellowstone’ Star Posted: 02 Mar 2022 01:33 PM PST Living the dream! Luke Grimes flew under the radar at the start of his acting career, but that all changed when he landed the role of Kayce Dutton on Yellowstone. The Ohio native, 38, has wowed fans of the cowboy drama as the youngest son of John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) on the Paramount series since its 2018 premiere. The network renewed Yellowstone for season 5 in February, and Grimes knew it was special from the start. "Kayce Dutton, in Yellowstone is a dream. I couldn't have imagined it better myself than if I sat down and asked, 'What would be the perfect character to play?'" he told As If Magazine in the fall of 2018. "I'm literally playing it." The Magnificent Seven actor gushed about the role once again in January, telling Entertainment Tonight, "When you're a little boy and you want to be an actor, what are some things you want to play? A cowboy, a soldier." He added: "It’s kind of all of the dream roles wrapped into one. He's just an emotionally complex guy but also a badass. It's all good stuff." While Grimes has always wanted to act, his passion for music is a close second when it comes to his career goals. "Acting was the first thing I knew I wanted to do artistically, and I had a lot of ambition," the Happiness for Beginners star previously told As If. "Music came from a place of not being able to satisfy the need to act, so I started playing music in church when I was really young. … Music is very important to me, but I'm not ambitious about it. I've played in bands in L.A., but the moment the band picked up momentum I backed off to not lose sight of acting." That focus paid off with Grimes and his Yellowstone costars earning a 2022 SAG Awards nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. The show lost to Succession at the February awards show. The El Camino Christmas actor reflected on his life during an interview with ET in January, saying, "I'm happy with my life, you know. I wake up every day and feel so lucky. … I get to live where I live and be married to my wife. So yeah, sure, I'm proud of myself." Scroll down to learn more about Grimes: ![]() After graduating from Dayton Christian High School in Dayton, Ohio, in 2002, Grimes moved to New York City to pursue acting. He attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts with the support of his parents. “My initial plan was to move to L.A., but once my family understood how serious I was about acting, they did what they could to send me to acting school in New York. My parents sacrificed a lot to send me there, and I think that changed my trajectory,” the Midwest native told As If magazine during an interview for its Fall/Winter 2018 issue. “My training provided me with a good sense of the kind of actor I wanted to be, and the kind of projects I wanted to do.” Richard Shotwell/Shutterstock ![]() Grimes landed his first movie role in 2006 as Jake in All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. His introduction to TV was playing Ryan Lafferty on Brothers & Sisters from 2009 to 2010. Some of his bigger film credits include American Sniper and portraying Elliott Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise. James Minchin/Paramount/Kobal/Shutterstock ![]() Before finding success on Yellowstone, Grimes was a drummer in a country band out of Los Angeles. He has plans to take up country music again in the near future, planning a trip to Nashville to work on his songwriting, according to Rolling Stone. "I hate this word, but the 'secular' music that I was allowed to listen to as a kid was Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash,” Grimes told the outlet in January of his musical influences after growing up as a pastor’s son. "That’s the stuff my dad grew up on in the Appalachian Mountains. When he didn’t have to be a pastor, he was playing that sort of folk and country-rock." He teased his future in music later that month, telling Entertainment Tonight, “I think it would be weird if [my Yellowstone character] Kayce started singing. But here pretty soon, you’ll see Luke singing." Mediapunch/Shutterstock ![]() The Into the Ashes actor wed Brazilian model Bianca Rodrigues in November 2018. What's Really Going on Between Kanye West and New 'Muse' Chaney Jones Posted: 02 Mar 2022 01:17 PM PST Keeping it casual. Kanye West has been spotted with Chaney Jones several times since his split from Julia Fox, but they’re not getting serious — yet. “They’re not exclusive,” an insider exclusively tells Us Weekly of the rapper, 44, and the model, 24. “She’s his muse and hangs out with his posse.” The Grammy winner first sparked dating speculation with Jones last month when he invited her to a Donda 2 listening party in Los Angeles. At the time, the “Famous” artist was still dating Fox, 32, whom he met on New Year’s Eve 2021. West seemingly confirmed his romance with Jones on Tuesday, March 1, when he shared a screenshot of an article about himself and the University of Delaware graduate. The Instagram post included a photo from The Shade Room that showed the duo out together with the caption, "It appears #Ye and his new boo #ChaneyJones are going strong." Fans have noticed that the social media star bears a striking resemblance to the Yeezy designer’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. According to the first insider, their similarities are one reason for West’s interest in Jones. “She’s a beautiful model and looks like Kim,” the source explains. “So, obviously, he’s attracted to her.” The Skims founder, 41, filed for divorce from the producer in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage. The former couple share children North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2. Us confirmed that a judge declared the reality star legally single and restored her maiden name during a court hearing on Wednesday, March 2. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum has been dating Pete Davidson since October 2021. West, for his part, is “enjoying the single dating life,” but he’s not interested in settling down again at the moment. “He would pick Kim over anyone but since they’re no longer dating, he’s doing the next best thing — creating another Kim Kardashian,” the insider tells Us. “Chaney is going along with it and is loving his fashion suggestions. They’re enjoying spending time together.” The Chicago native seemingly made Fox his muse during their relationship as well, dressing her in looks very similar to those favored by Kardashian. The Uncut Gems star and the “Heartless” singer called it quits in February, but Fox claimed she has no hard feelings about the breakup. “It kind of brought a spark back into my life that I had kind of forgotten about,” she told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday, adding that the short-lived romance was like “hitting a reset button.” With reporting by Diana Cooper |
Love Is Blind's Shake Has No Regrets About Deepti Comments: 'I'm Not Sorry' Posted: 02 Mar 2022 01:05 PM PST Two sides to the story. After Deepti Vempati and Abhishek "Shake" Chatterjee found love inside the Love Is Blind pods during season 2, the pair went their separate ways before the season was over. "I knew what I had to do," Deepti exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of the Netflix series' finale in February 2022. "No one should have doubts about me [on our wedding day] and I deserve the best. So it's, like, if you're not gonna be able to offer it for me, then there's no chance I'm staying." While the information data analyst walked away from Shake in the middle of their planned nuptials, he previously admitted that he did not have a physical connection to his then-fiancée, even referring to her as an "aunt" during one episode. "There's a lot of things that he said that he didn't say to my face and [things] I've heard from other cast members," Deepti told Us about her decision to end their engagement. "I just don't have room for anybody in my life that doesn't see me in the best way. And who could even think those types of thoughts, I guess." Shortly after the finale, the pair — and their respective loved ones — have continually weighed in about the nature of the twosome's breakup. "I've mentioned earlier that there are certainly things I want to work on for myself and get better at but one thing I don't feel inclined to do is pretend I'm sad or sorry about certain things that were out of my control, certain things that I can't necessarily even speak about," the veterinarian claimed in an Instagram video in March 2022. "I'm not sorry. I think I handled the situation as best as anybody in my situation could." While Shake continued to assert his honesty, Deepti's siblings took to social media in her defense. “We've witnessed you grow into such an incredible and beautiful woman, you've inspired so many people to realize their self worth and demand what they deserve and settle for nothing less," her brother, Sunny Vempati, and his partner, Hina, wrote via a joint Instagram statement after the finale aired. “We wish you didn't pick that [clown emoji] but despite his childishness, you carried yourself with grace and continued to see the good in people." The statement continued: "Now normally I don't get involved in drama but I'mma defend my sister here: 'Shake', bruh, you're a loser. You minimized my sister's life by making some awful and cringeworthy comments about her. You made these statements knowing your own mom would one day watch it; my parents and my entire family had to sit through you talking behind my sister's back about insecurities she fought her entire life. Despite your comments on and off camera about her body, she continued to only ever be supportive of you, despite our best efforts to convince her to see through your BS. THAT'S the person she is." While Shake did not directly address Sunny's pointed remarks, Deepti reshared the message via Instagram Story, adding a heart emoji as she gushed about the "love and support" from her family. The only regret that I have is I wish I was a little more vulnerable and more emotional outward instead of inward.” Adrian S. Burrows Sr./Netflix ![]() “At the end of the day, I’m going to live my best life going forward,” Shake noted in a March 2022 Instagram video, refusing to apologize for his reality TV actions. “And you don’t have to like me, only I have to like me. Good luck with the rest of your life.” Courtesy of Sunny Vempati/Instagram ![]() “I’m not perfect but I’m real,” Shake wrote via a cryptic Instagram post that February. Netflix ![]() While it seemed that Shake seldom addressed his lack of chemistry with his former fiancée to her face on camera, Deepti admitted that she did discuss those issues with him. “Shake and I had conversations about how physical intimacy and that chemistry was lacking between us,” she told BuzzFeed that February. “It was kind of disappointing and hard to watch [back as the show aired], especially because my parents were so impacted by it. We welcomed him into our home.” Netflix ![]() “The one you hate the most is the one that is lying the least. Probably why you don’t like them,” Shake captioned a series of March 2022 Instagram Story slides. “All these perfect apologies are publicity stunts from people who care enough about their appearances to flat out lie. I’m not gonna play that game. Ever.” Netflix ![]() After costar Kyle Abrams teased the March 4, 2022, reunion special, Shake weighed in about his involvement. “I felt like [the] villain so I played one,” he wrote via Instagram Story that February. “Low key was kinda fun at times but yeah be warned LMAOOOO.” Ser Baffo/Netflix |
It's Over! See Which Celebrity Couples Have Split in 2022 Posted: 02 Mar 2022 12:44 PM PST Calling it quits. It happens all the time, but the world never gets used to seeing celebrity couples break up. Chanel Iman and Sterling Shepard were among the stars who made headlines for their splits in 2022. Us Weekly exclusively revealed in January that the model and the NFL star were "getting divorced," though they were "going to try and remain civil and friendly towards each other." Divorce documents obtained by Us claimed that the pair were having marital issues as far back as December 2020. "The parties have experienced irreconcilable differences [and the] differences have caused a break down in the marital relationship," the papers, which were filed in June 2021, read. "Said irreconcilable differences have existed for at least six months prior to the filing [of] this Complaint and there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation." After Iman and Shepard welcomed daughter Cali in August 2018, he got real about balancing their parenting responsibilities and their relationship. (The duo also share daughter Cassie, whom they welcomed in December 2019.) "It's honestly tough whenever you put a baby into the situation because you've got to still try to find time for each other and a lot of the focus goes onto the baby," he told Us in August 2019. "So that's the main thing is just me trying to carve out a little time in my schedule and her trying to carve out time in her schedule because we're both pretty busy. That's the toughest thing about it, but we find a way to get through it." Another split that made news in 2022 was Joe and Bessy Gatto's, though they technically announced it in December 2021. The comedian revealed the separation in an Instagram post that also explained his exit from Impractical Jokers. "Alongside my friends, I've devoted a decade of my life to building this franchise and couldn't be prouder of what has been accomplished," he wrote on New Year’s Eve in 2021. "However, due to some issues in my personal life, I have to step away. Bessy and I have decided to amicably part ways, so now I need to focus on being the best father and co-parent to our two incredible kids." Bessy, for her part, addressed the breakup in her own Instagram post. "With love and respect, we have decided to separate. Although we will no longer be a couple, we will always be a family to our beautiful kids and we look forward to co-parenting together," she noted. "We ask that you please respect our privacy as we navigate this new chapter together. Kim Kardashian Shared Ariana Grande’s ‘Pete Davidson’ Lyrics Before Romance Posted: 02 Mar 2022 12:41 PM PST ![]() Manifesting her future? Kim Kardashian may currently be dating Pete Davidson — but it seems like the comedian was on her mind years before they were official. In September 2018, Kardashian, 41, captioned an Instagram photo of herself from behind, writing, “Universe must have my back The New York native and Grande, 28, originally met in March 2016 during the singer’s appearance on Saturday Night Live. They started dating two years later and made their relationship Instagram official in May 2018. Us Weekly broke the news in June 2018 that Davidson and Grande were engaged after a few weeks of dating. At the time, the Nickelodeon alum dedicated a song to her then-fiancé on her album Sweetener. "I thought you into my life, look at my mind / No better place or a time, look how they align / Universe must have my back, fell from the sky into my lap / And I know you know that you’re my soulmate and all that," the track’s lyrics read. After an Instagram fan questioned whether it was too soon to create music about her new romance, Grande replied, "He's my fiance. This is my album. I'm an honest and emotional artist and human being and if my openness in my work isn't for you, that's OK; I won't be offended. Still wishing y'all all the love in the world.” Davidson, for his part, poked fun at their whirlwind romance when he joked about a potential breakup two weeks before they called off their engagement. "God forbid we split up, she takes half my sneakers. I'm totally comfortable being with a successful woman. I live a her place. She pays, like, 60 grand for rent and all I have to do is stock the fridge,” the Guy Code alum said during an episode of SNL in October 2018. “Last night, I switched her birth control with Tic Tacs. I believe in us and all, but you know, I just want to make sure that she can't go anywhere." He added: "You know, I don't even get royalties for that 'Pete Davidson' song? Like, if we break up, and we won't — we will — but we won't. I'm kidding. But like in ten years, if God forbid that ever happened, there will be a song called 'Pete Davidson' like playing in speakers at K-Mart and I'll be working there." Later that month, Us confirmed that the duo went their separate ways, with a source telling Us, "They realized it happened too quick and too early.” Grande moved on with Mikey Foster before she sparked romance rumors with Dalton Gomez in February 2020. The couple tied the knot in May 2021. Davidson, for his part, dated Kate Beckinsale and Phoebe Dynevor. In November 2021, the King of Staten Island actor was spotted spending time with Kardashian after she hosted SNL one month prior. That same month, Davidson and Kardashian confirmed their relationship when they were photographed holding hands in Palm Springs. A second source revealed to Us that the twosome “are getting serious” about each other, adding, “Things have definitely escalated quickly but in a healthy, fun way. Right now, they are just enjoying their time together and seeing where things go.” The Skims founder shared another quote from Grande’s music late last month when she captioned several photos of herself, “just like magic The California native, who shares North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2, with Kanye West, filed for divorce from the rapper, 44, in February 2021 after six years of marriage. Love Is Blind’s Shaina Has a Boyfriend, Clarifies ‘I’m Not a Homewrecker’ Posted: 02 Mar 2022 12:38 PM PST ![]() Off the market — and clearing the air. While opening up about her time on Love Is Blind, Shaina Hurley revealed that she now has a boyfriend. "I’m actually in a relationship. It’s pretty serious," the Netflix star said on the "Viall Files" podcast on Wednesday, March 2, noting that her new man has been "nothing but a support" as the reality show makes headlines. "He's been great throughout the whole situation. I’m happy.” Shaina got engaged to Kyle Abrams in the pods on season 2 of Love Is Blind — something she told Nick Viall she regrets. ![]() "I should have just said no to Kyle and followed my gut, and I didn't," she said. "Because even before he proposed, I was like, 'I don’t know how it’s gonna work.' … I was trying to be open-minded because this is an experiment. This was, like, 10 days — people are acting like this was years. … During the reveal, I had intention, I'm like, 'You know what? I don’t know if we should be doing this.' And when I saw him, it was like, 'Oh, my God, this is real.'" The twosome subsequently joined the other couples for a trip to Mexico, but Shaina left early. While it seemed like she ditched Kyle with no warning, she told the former Bachelor that wasn't the case. "I would not just leave him in Mexico. Unfortunately, why I left wasn’t on film, so they weren’t able to show that," she explained. "I was very honest with Kyle and I had told them like, 'I can’t do this.' I broke up with him for a reason. And I had explained that to him in Mexico, and I wanted to go home. I was kind of over it at that point. And I just needed to see my family again, like, we weren’t able to see them for about three weeks, so I had no outside influence." One relationship issue between Shaina and Kyle was religion as she is a devout Christian, and he doesn’t believe in God. Shaina's other connection, Shayne Jansen, also wasn't religious, which confused fans. "When we were in the pods, I had said, 'What is your view on it?' And [Shayne] goes, 'I believe in God.' He goes, 'I go to church, probably what, four times a year? But I’m not a very religious person.' He told me, 'If my wife is, like, a person of faith, I’m going to support her.' So Shayne had put that upfront right away. Kyle was — it didn’t show it — he just was not going to budge on that. And so it wasn’t necessarily, like, I need a religious, crazy Christian.” Shaina also claimed that Kyle has "character flaws" that the Netflix series didn't air. When Nick pushed for details, she played coy, but added, "There [should be] a mutual respect there and Kyle did not respect me at the end of the day." When it comes to her romance with Shayne, who proposed to Natalie Lee in the pods, Shaina claimed it wasn't portrayed accurately either. "The biggest disconnect would definitely be the fact that I was a homewrecker trying to ruin Shayne and Natalie’s relationship," she said. "And that wasn’t the case at all. Like, because there was so much [that happened] off film — the whole beach scene, the ship with Shayne had sailed way back, weeks prior in the pods. Because everything wasn’t able to be put into the episodes, no one got to see the true story. It definitely appeared that I was, like, trying to break them up, [but] it’s not the case at all." The Love Is Blind season 2 reunion starts streaming on Netflix Friday, March 4. |

"They are really good together and his friends and family love her and vice versa." As Us previously reported, the couple’s relationship began to heat up around the 2016 holiday season, when a source said the actress and DNCE frontman would be "spending part of Thanksgiving weekend together." A second insider told Us at the time, "Joe really likes her. She’s definitely different than the other girls he has dated." (Jonas previously dated Demi Lovato, Camilla Belle, Ashley Greene, Taylor Swift and Gigi Hadid, while Turner had been linked to James McVey, Tye Sheridan and Thomas Mann.) The couple's relationship quickly heated up. They were seen together at a Kings of Leon concert in the Netherlands in November 2016 before being spotted leaving a NYC hotel. They confirmed their relationship on Instagram in early 2017 and made their debut at HBO's Golden Globes afterparty that January, where they were spotted making out. Turner actress revealed in July 2017 that she is "very happy" with Jonas, but expressed her frustration that there was a downside to their relationship: a lack of privacy. “You do feel like you’re living in a fishbowl," she told Marie Claire in an interview. In February 2020, Us confirmed that the lovebirds were expecting their first child together. Turner gave birth to their daughter, Willa, five months later. Britney Spears Claims Mom Lynne Feared Jamie 'My Whole Life' Posted: 02 Mar 2022 11:58 AM PST Britney Spears' legal drama with her father, Jamie Spears, has continued to make headlines amid her indefinite work hiatus, but their ups and downs date back to her childhood. "Me and my daughter's relationship has always been strained," Jamie testified during a June 2019 court hearing. Growing up, Britney and her mother, Lynne Spears, were thick as thieves, with the matriarch taking her eldest daughter to out-of-state auditions and performances in their native Louisiana while Jamie bounced from job to job and struggled with alcoholism. Lynne considered leaving her husband several times after their July 1975 wedding (and even filed for divorce in December 1979 before withdrawing her petition), but breaking up their family was the last thing she wanted to do. "When I look back, I guess I could have ended it a lot sooner and maybe saved myself and my son [Bryan] some heartache. But I wouldn't have my girls, Britney and Jamie Lynn," the former schoolteacher wrote in her 2008 memoir, Through the Storm. "Plus, it's almost impossible to say I should have done this or that. At the time, divorcing Jamie did not seem like the right thing to do." After Britney's career took off in 1998, however, her parents' marriage took a turn for the worse. They divorced in May 2002, and the Grammy winner later called it "the best thing that's ever happened to my family." Jamie remained in Britney's life after his split from Lynne and was tasked with playing a pivotal role beginning in February 2008, when a Los Angeles court gave him control of his famous daughter's personal affairs and estate amid her much-publicized breakdown. Although he originally petitioned for the conservatorship to be temporary, it was made permanent that October. The legal arrangement has been in place ever since, despite Britney eventually making a professional comeback, releasing new albums, touring the world, judging a season of The X Factor and raking in nearly $140 million during a four-year Las Vegas residency. As Britney's longest-serving conservator — others, like attorney Andrew Wallet and licensed fiduciary Jodi Montgomery, have come and gone over time — Jamie has been credited with essentially saving Britney's life when she was at her lowest point. "This is a story of a close family but not a perfect one," Jamie's attorney Leon Gladstone said in court in October 2012. "It's a story of a man who actually wanted nothing more for his daughter than to live and be well. It's a story of a father who has had to step up and take action that he never thought he would have to take." And yet, the Crossroads actress and many people in her inner circle feel that ending the conservatorship is long overdue. "Britney's family is at war with each other and it's all because of the conservatorship," a source exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2020, noting that Lynne, who briefly reconciled with Jamie in late 2010 but never remarried him, "wants a care plan established that would transition Britney's personal life out of the conservatorship." The #FreeBritney movement was victorious in November 2021, with Britney’s conservatorship officially ending. Scroll down to revisit Britney and Jamie's ups and downs over the years: ![]() Lynne wrote in Through the Storm that Jamie “always enjoyed a beer here and there, but he didn’t start drinking heavily until after Bryan was born” in April 1977. “With every alcohol-soaked episode, our perfect little life began to unstitch, and the knot we had tied with our vows and our love started to work loose, thread by painful thread,” she continued. Jamie eventually went to rehab in 2004 after Britney urged him to seek help. Courtesy of Britney Spears/Instagram ![]() Lynne and her longtime friend Felicia Culotta took turns traveling with Britney in the late ‘90s after the teen signed a deal with Jive Records. Britney’s agent at the time, Nancy Carson, recalled seeing Jamie around much less, saying in the “Framing Britney Spears” episode of The New York Times Presents in February 2021, “Jamie visited from time to time and was anxious to see this time be worthwhile so that he could justify the money that it was costing to do this.” Former Jive executive Kim Kaiman, meanwhile, said in the documentary, “Her mother would do whatever it took, personally and for the family’s sake, for Britney to be a star. I never talked to her father. The only thing Jamie ever said to me was, ‘My daughter is going to be so rich she’s going to buy me a boat.’” Courtesy of Britney Spears/Instagram ![]() Jamie was at Britney’s side throughout her 2008 MTV documentary, Britney: For the Record, as she prepared for her comeback after months of personal setbacks. In one particularly memorable scene, the patriarch whipped up his daughter’s favorite comfort food, telling the camera, “Grits is an old Southern tradition. She’s been eating them since she was born. … Everybody else has Wheaties, but Southern girls’ breakfast of champions is cheese grits.” MTV ![]() In the summer of 2014, the former gym owner bought a video of Britney’s then-boyfriend, David Lucado, kissing and dancing with another woman so that it would not leak online and embarrass his daughter. Britney broke up with Lucado soon after. Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() Jamie attended several of the pop star’s concerts during her Las Vegas residency, Britney: Piece of Me, which ran from December 2013 to December 2017. Courtesy of Britney Spears/Instagram ![]() The former Mouseketeer canceled her planned second Vegas residency, Britney: Domination, in January 2019 after her dad was hospitalized for a ruptured colon. “We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. Mediapunch/Shutterstock ![]() Multiple sources exclusively told Us in September 2019 that police responded to Jamie’s California condo the month prior after he got into an argument with his grandson Sean Preston and “shook” the then-13-year-old. Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline subsequently obtained a restraining order against Jamie that prohibited his former father-in-law from coming near Preston or the former couple’s youngest son, Jayden. While the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office declined to file child abuse charges against Jamie, the incident drove a wedge between Britney and her dad and led Federline to alter his ex-wife’s custodial time. “The incident with Jamie and Preston changed everything,” a source exclusively told Us in December 2020. Courtesy of Britney Spears/Instagram ![]() Us exclusively reported in April 2020 that Britney “went back home to Louisiana to visit her mom, dad, sister and her nieces” amid the COVID-19 pandemic after initially quarantining in California with her boyfriend, Sam Asghari. The family celebrated Jamie Lynn’s 29th birthday while Britney was in town and also enjoyed “fun, relaxing downtime,” according to a source. Jamie’s attorney Vivian Thoreen confirmed the news 10 months later, saying on Good Morning America, “Early on in the pandemic, they spent two weeks with other family members, hunkered down in Louisiana, and they spent a lot of time together. Britney and Jamie went on long drives together. They played and worked in the family garden. And every night, Jamie cooked Southern comfort food that the family ate and enjoyed together.” Courtesy Jamie Lynn Spears/Instagram; Shutterstock (inset) ![]() During her time out of the spotlight, Britney became more involved in her conservatorship. In August 2020, she filed court documents stating that she was “strongly opposed” to Jamie being the conservator of her person and of her estate. She requested that Montgomery, who temporarily replaced Jamie after his November 2019 health scare, permanently oversee Britney’s personal affairs. She also asked that a “qualified corporate fiduciary” take control of her money. Despite his daughter’s requests, Jamie has continued to fight to stay on the case. Matt Baron/Shutterstock; Shutterstock ![]() The entertainer’s attorney said during a November 2020 court hearing that Britney had informed him that “she is afraid of her father” and that “she will not perform as long as her father is in charge of her career.” Jamie’s lawyer denied the claim. At the end of the hearing, the judge decided not to suspend Jamie as conservator but approved Bessemer Trust to handle Britney’s estate alongside him. Jim Smeal/Shutterstock; Nick Ut/AP/Shutterstock ![]() The former building contractor told CNN in December 2020 that he had not been on “good terms” with Britney since that August, the same month she said she was “opposed” to his role. “I love my daughter and I miss her very much,” he told the outlet. “When a family member needs special care and protection, families need to step up, as I have done for the last 12-plus years, to safeguard, protect and continue to love Britney unconditionally. I have and will continue to provide unwavering love and fierce protection against those with self-serving interests and those who seek to harm her or my family.” Ken McKay/ITV/Shutterstock; Shutterstock ![]() Asghari, who has been dating the “Lucky” singer since late 2016, slammed Jamie in February 2021, writing via his Instagram Stories, “I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way. In my opinion Jamie is a total dick.” The personal trainer later told TMZ that “once [Jamie] starts treating his daughter right, then we can be on good terms.” Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() The Grammy winner shared her side of the story regarding her father’s role in her conservatorship battle for the first time during a June 2021 court hearing. “It’s my wish and my dream for this to end,” Britney told the judge presiding over the hearing, which she attended virtually. “I’ve lied and told the whole world I’m OK and I’m happy. If I said that enough, maybe I’d become happy. … I’m in shock. I’m traumatized. … I’m so angry it’s insane.”Britney called her conservatorship “abusive” and admitted she felt “enslaved” by her father during his reign as her conservator. “He loved the control he had over me, one hundred percent,” the singer claimed. She continued: “I just want my life back. It’s been 13 years and it’s enough. It’s enough and it makes no sense at all … I’m done. I want to sue my family, to be totally honest with you. … Ma’am, I’m not here to be anyone’s slave.” Jim Smeal/Shutterstock ![]() In July 2021, Us confirmed that Britney and her new lawyer, Matt Rosengart, had submitted paperwork to have Jamie permanently removed from her conservatorship team. Britney's mom, Lynne, seemingly supported the move in a fiery declaration, calling out Jamie's "entirely inappropriate" actions toward their daughter. "Since this conservatorship has been in place, the relationship between the conservatee and Mr. Spears has dwindled to nothing but fear and hatred of Mr. Spears by the conservatee due to Mr. Spears' behavior, including his complete control over her, his mistrust of her, his coercion of her, his 'bartering' with her over what she can and cannot do for whatever reward or punishment he is willing to mete out, his constant threats, and his decision-making over all aspects of her life," Lynne claimed at the time. Shutterstock(3) ![]() In August 2021, two months after Britney's bombshell court hearing, Jamie filed court documents agreeing to step down as the conservator of her estate. "Regardless of his formal title, Mr. Spears will always be Ms. Spears' father, he will always love her unconditionally, and he will always look out for her best interests," the docs stated. At the time, the pop star's lawyer noted in a statement, "We are pleased but not necessarily surprised that Mr. Spears and his lawyer finally recognize that he must be removed. We are disappointed, however, by their ongoing shameful and reprehensible attacks on Ms. Spears and others." Shutterstock (2) ![]() Britney's attorney filed a supplemental petition on August 30 in response to Jamie agreeing to step down after "a resolution of matters." According to Rosengart, Jamie is requesting more money, specifically $1,356,293 for his attorney fees and a $500,000 payment to Tri-Star Sports & Entertainment Group in order to leave his role. "The status quo is no longer tolerable, and Britney Spears will not be extorted," Rosengart wrote in the legal docs. "Mr. Spears’s blatant attempt to barter suspension and removal in exchange for approximately $2 million in payments, on top of the millions already reaped from Ms. Spears’s estate by Mr. Spears and his associates, is a non-starter." Shutterstock(2) ![]() Jamie was suspended as conservator of his daughter’s estate during a September 2021 hearing, effective immediately. John Zabel was appointed Britney’s temporary conservator until December 31, 2021. The judge also said both legal teams would have to return to court within 30 to 45 days to discuss whether to terminate the conservatorship in its entirety. Shutterstock ![]() After her father was officially suspended as her conservator, Britney took to Instagram to share her thoughts about the situation. "Although there is change and things to celebrate in my life, I still have a lot of healing to do 🌳 !!!" she wrote in October 2021. "Thankfully I have a good support system and am taking time to understand it’s ok to slow down and breathe 🧘♀️!!!!! Only through self love I can pray … love … and support others in return !!!!" MEGA; Shutterstock ![]() A judge ruled to end Britney’s conservatorship in November 2021 during a court hearing. “The record is clear, the time is clear,” her attorney said. “The time has come today to end the conservatorship.”The lawyer added that while his team had “disputes with Mr. Spears’ counsel,” they agreed with an October 2021 report that suggested it is time “to terminate the conservatorship immediately.” Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock ![]() An insider exclusively told Us in December 2021 that “Britney can’t wait to get married and truly start her life,” but her wedding plans don’t currently include her family. “As of now, there will be none of her family who is invited to wedding,” the source added. Xavier Collin/Image Press Agency / MEGA ![]() Though she was freed from her conservatorship in late 2021, Britney's legal drama with her father didn't end. Jamie's lawyer sent an email to the singer's attorney in January 2022 requesting "a mutually agreeable date" for Britney to sit for a deposition regarding the claims she made about her conservatorship. "Ideally, we would agree to conduct these depositions in early March, with them either occurring on consecutive days or at least the same week," the note read, asking that Jamie be deposed first. "Additionally, so as to avoid any issues or problems, we propose that we formalize the schedule through a stipulation and Court order so that we are all under a Court order to appear for the depositions as noticed." Salute Your Shorts' Kirk Baily Dies at 59 After Cancer Battle Posted: 02 Mar 2022 11:22 AM PST Kirk Baily, who played Kevin "Ug" Lee in Salute Your Shorts, died following a battle with lung cancer. He was 59. The actor passed away on Monday, February 28, six months after he was diagnosed with the disease, according to TMZ. Baily’s most notable role was in the Nickelodeon sitcom, which focused on young campers at the fictional Camp Anawanna. The TV series, which ran from 1991 to 1992, was based on creator Steve Slavkin‘s 1986 book Salute Your Shorts: Life at Summer Camp. It also starred Megan Berwick, Michael Bower, Danny Cooksey, Venus DeMilo, Tim Eyster, Heidi Lucas, Erik MacArthur and Blake Soper. Since Salute Your Shorts ended, the cast and crew have reunited multiple times to celebrate the impact that the show had over the years. Their last event, which included Baily, was a trivia night at Nickelodeon’s Good Burger pop-up restaurant in Los Angeles in August 2019. Two years later, Cooksey, 46, reflected on filming his favorite episode from Salute Your Shorts alongside Baily. “We also filmed really, really strangely. We would do four [episodes] and then come back and do two. But I think it was a capture the flag episode with a bunch of water balloons. My character really never got his [comeuppance]. Unlike Kirk, who played the counselor — every week, the poor guy was a target,” he shared during an interview with The Ringer. “In that particular episode, [there was] the Platoon death scene, where I'm just getting smashed with water balloons. I remember walking to set and every crew member on the planet had multiple water balloons. They were like, ‘All right, your turn, smarta–.'” ![]() Baily later transitioned into voice acting where he offered his talents to projects including Cowboy Bebop, Metropolis, Hotel Transylvania, Frozen, Big Hero 6 and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run. His prolific career also extended to video games, with Baily voicing characters in Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force, Dead Space: Downfall, Shadow Hearts: Covenant and Condemned 2: Bloodshot. The New York native continued to guest star onscreen in Felicity, Judging Amy, NYPD Blue, Melrose Place and Star Trek: Voyager. Baily’s final credits are in Night of the Animated Dead, Missing Link and Bumblebee. |
Melinda Gates Breaks Her Silence on Bill Gates’ Affair After Divorce Posted: 02 Mar 2022 11:15 AM PST Something they couldn't get past. Melinda Gates spoke out for the first time about the ramifications of her ex-husband Bill Gates' affair during their marriage. "I certainly believe in forgiveness, so I thought we had worked through some of that," the philanthropist, 57, said in a sneak peek of her Thursday, March 3, interview on CBS Mornings. "It wasn't one moment or one specific thing that happened. There just came a point in time where there was enough there that I realized it just wasn't healthy and I couldn't trust what we had." Shortly after Melinda announced her split from Bill, 66, in May 2021, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Microsoft cofounder had a years-long affair with one of the company's engineers that began in 2000. A rep subsequently confirmed in a statement that "there was an affair almost 20 years ago which ended amicably." In the CBS Mornings preview, the Moment of Lift author reflected on the emotions surrounding her divorce. "I think it's really important to say, look, I had a lot of tears for many days," she revealed. "I mean, [I had] days where I'm literally laying on the floor and the carpet, you know, this close to me, thinking, 'How can this be? How can I get up? How am I gonna move forward?' And days I certainly was angry. That's part of the grieving process. You're grieving a loss of something you thought you had and thought you had for your lifetime. I mean, this is painful stuff." However, nearly one year later, Melinda recognizes the growth she has achieved amid the ordeal. "At the end of the day, though, I started on this journey of healing, and I feel like I'm starting to get to the other side. And I do feel like I'm turning a page in the chapter now," she noted. "I mean, it's 2022, and I'm actually really excited about what's to come and life ahead for me." Bill and Melinda tied the knot in January 1994 and went on to welcome daughter Jennifer, 25, son Rory, 22, and daughter Phoebe, 19. The businesswoman confirmed the split in a statement shared via Twitter in May 2021. "After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage," she wrote. "Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives. We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives." ![]() The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation cofounders finalized their divorce in August 2021. The Washington native opened up about the split days after his marriage officially ended. "[It's] definitely a very sad milestone … and Melinda's a great person and that partnership that we had coming to an end is a source of great personal sadness," Bill said during a CNN interview. "We are communicating and working at the foundation and so that partnership we're going to try and continue." |
Kanye West, Tristan Thompson Have Dinner Together in Miami Beach: Details Posted: 02 Mar 2022 11:14 AM PST ![]() Boys’ night out. Kanye West and Tristan Thompson had dinner together — and they weren’t by themselves. The rapper, 44, and the NBA star, 30, were spotted hanging out at the Setai hotel in Miami Beach on Tuesday, March 1, along with two female friends. “Kanye and Tristan were laughing and having a great time,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly of the duo’s evening. “They stayed at dinner for about an hour and a half and looked to be enjoying each other's company.” The Chicago Bulls player was in Florida for his team’s Monday, February 28, matchup against the Miami Heat. At one point during the game, the crowd attempted to distract the Canada native with chants of ex Khloé Kardashian‘s name. The athlete and the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum, 37, split in June 2021 after nearly five years of dating off and on. The duo share daughter True, 3. Thompson’s relationship with the Good American founder made headlines again last year when news broke that the basketball player fathered a child with Maralee Nichols while he was still dating the reality star. Nichols, 37, welcomed son Theo in December 2021. The power forward initially denied conceiving the child, but he confirmed his paternity earlier this year. "I take full responsibility for my actions," the former Cleveland Cavaliers player wrote via Instagram Stories in January. "Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son. I sincerely apologize to everyone I've hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately." Thompson also publicly apologized to Kardashian, writing, "Khloé, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years.” West, for his part, is still in the midst of a messy divorce battle with Kim Kardashian. The Skims founder, 41, filed for divorce from the Grammy winner in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage. ![]() Us confirmed that a judge declared the beauty mogul legally single on Wednesday, March 2, and restored Kim’s maiden name. The “Stronger” artist previously made multiple public statements about wanting his ex back, but on Tuesday, he said he told his lawyers to “expedite” the divorce process. “I've asked my team to expedite the dissolution of my marriage to Kim so I can put my entire attention into our beautiful children,” the Chicago native told Hollywood Unlocked in a statement. The Selfish author and West share four children: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2. In court documents filed last month, Kim said that she hoped her ex could “accept” that their “marital relationship” was over. "I very much desire to be divorced," the KKW Beauty founder, who is currently dating Pete Davidson, stated in the paperwork. "I have asked Kanye to keep our divorce private, but he has not done so. Kanye has been putting a lot of misinformation regarding our private family matters and coparenting on social media which has created emotional distress." With reporting by Travis Cronin |
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Relationship Timeline Posted: 02 Mar 2022 11:14 AM PST Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may not have started dating until 2012, but the pair have a rich history. “I met him I think in 2002 or 2003,” Kardashian told Ryan Seacrest during Keeping Up With the Kardashians 10th anniversary special, which aired in 2017. “He was recording a song with Brandy, and I was her friend. I vividly remember hanging out with him, and then they did a video together, so I'd see him a few times. He was asking his friends: ‘Who is this Kim Kardajan?’ He didn't know what my name was.” While both Kardashian and West dated different people throughout the '00s, they remained friends and even appeared onscreen together for the first time in 2008. The KKW Beauty creator shared throwback pics in 2015 from a pilot they filmed called Alligator Boots. “In honor of Star Wars: The Force Awakens being released today, I wanted to share these old pics of Kanye and me from years ago!” Kardashian wrote at the time. “We worked together on a pilot for a show called Alligator Boots back in 2008 and I played Princess Leia. We had met before this project (back in 2003), but I would say this is when we first really connected." Three years later, Kardashian married Kris Humphries in August 2011. After only 72 days of marriage, however, the reality TV personality announced she and the NBA pro were calling it quits. Kardashian later revealed that her divorce from Humphries helped her discover her feelings for West. "Right before I got married to Kris Humphries, [Kanye and I] were talking, and I just went a different direction,” she recalled on the aforementioned KUWTK anniversary special. "I think I had to go through that to figure out what I wanted. After my breakup, I was feeling really low and down and he said, ‘Just come to Paris and see my fashion show.’ He jokes that he put on this whole fashion show just to get a date with me. So I went there and I stayed with him, and that's where we started dating. I swear from the moment I landed, I fell madly in love with him and I thought, ‘Oh, my God, why didn't I do this sooner?’ Like, this is what real life is like — love and fun and real support." After facing a challenging year in their relationship in 2020, Us confirmed in January 2021 that Kardashian is "done" with their marriage and that the longtime pair had "been living separate lives for many months now." A second source revealed that they "had a big fight" in December 2020 that caused the reality star to become "really upset" after the rapper "blew up" at her. Kardashian secured high-powered attorney Laura Wasser to aid in her divorce settlement before formally filing, a third insider told Us. Wasser "has been on retainer and actively working for Kim since last summer," the source said. The source added that Kardashian "wants the divorce settlement finalized" before she files against West.
