Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan Misses Season 2 Premiere Due to COVID-19 Posted: 23 Mar 2022 06:23 AM PDT The pandemic isn’t over. Just as it did in 2020 and 2021, Hollywood’s A-list continues to be affected by COVID-19 in 2022 — but they largely attribute their fast recoveries to vaccines. In January, Late Night With Seth Meyers only returned from holiday break for one show before suddenly having to go on hiatus amid the omicron variant’s prevalence. “The bad news is, I tested positive for COVID (thanks, 2022!) the good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!),” Seth Meyers wrote via Twitter on January 4. “We are canceling the rest of the shows this week, so tune in next Monday to see what cool location we will try and pass off as a studio!!!” Meyers’ fellow NBC late night host Jimmy Fallon revealed a day prior that he’d recently recovered from COVID-19. The Saturday Night Live alum made it clear that he tested negative before returning to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on January 3. “Hey guys, on the first day of our holiday break I tested positive for Covid,” he captioned a photo via Instagram of himself masked in a room marked “reserved for testing use.” The room was decorated with an iconic Diff’rent Strokes quote, which Fallon appreciated. He continued, “I was vaccinated and boostered which made me lucky enough to only have mild symptoms. Thank you to the doctors and nurses who work so hard around the clock to get everyone vaxxed. Thank you to NBC for taking the testing protocols so seriously and doing a great job – and also thanks for putting me in the ‘What 'chu talkin' about Willis?’ isolation room when they told me the news.” In the comments section, Fallon told a fan that he completely recovered, writing, “The positive came back on 12/18. Back at work today and feeling 100%!” The NBC hosts both advocated for vaccination. As of January, the CDC recommended a booster shot for people over age 16 five months after completing the primary series. Meyers and Fallon each had a booster before testing positive. Similarly, Whoopi Goldberg also had a breakthrough case amid the highly contagious variant’s spread. Her View cohost Joy Behar announced the news on January 3 and said the Sister Act star was expected to be fully recovered within a week. “Why am I here instead of Whoopi? Well, Whoopi, unfortunately, tested positive over the break, but she’ll be back probably next week,” Behar explained. “Since she’s vaxxed and boosted, her symptoms have been very, very, mild. But we’re being super cautious here at The View.” The daytime talk show opted to film remotely for the week in the midst of Goldberg’s positive test. “They say there’s no place like home for the holidays and that’s exactly where we are this year,” Behar said. “Happy New Year from all of our living rooms. As you can see, we’re back in boxes and doing the show remotely — hopefully for just a week. I’m praying that it’s just a week, but you never know because this omicron thing is all over the place.” See the stars who have tested positive for COVID-19 in 2022: ![]() The Bridgerton actress revealed via Instagram on March 22 that she was unable to attend the Netflix drama's season 2 premiere after being "struck down with Miss Rona." Miley Cyrus Is 'Safe' After Plane Makes Emergency Landing in 'Major' Storm Posted: 23 Mar 2022 06:22 AM PDT ![]() Turbulent travels. Miley Cyrus is safe and sound after her flight to Paraguay took an unplanned turn. “To my fans and everyone worried after hearing about my flight to Asunción. Our plane was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lighting,” the former Disney Channel star, 29, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, March 22, alongside a video of the weather outside of her plane window. “My crew , band , friends and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing. We were unfortunately unable to fly into Paraguay. Cyrus also uploaded an image of what appeared to be a damaged part of the aircraft’s wing. The official Twitter account for the Asunción music festival later revealed that the first day of the event — which was slated to feature performances by the “We Can’t Stop” singer, Doja Cat, Machine Gun Kelly and more — was canceled due to flooding in the area. ![]() Days before her journey to Paraguay, the Hannah Montana alum took the stage at Lollapalooza Chile. Cyrus was one of the headliners at Parque Bicentenario Cerrillos in Santiago, Chile, where fans requested she play “Hoedown Throwdown” and poked fun at her 2007 split from Nick Jonas. “‘F–k Nick Jonas,'” the Last Song actress said on Saturday, March 19, while reading the handmade signs scattered throughout the audience. “I didn’t say it! I didn’t say it! Just one of the other signs!” The moment quickly went viral, and the Tennessee native seamlessly transitioned into a rendition of her 2008 hit “7 Things,” which she penned after her breakup from the 29-year-old Jonas Brothers member. “I was angry when I wrote ‘7 Things.’ I wanted to punish him, to get back at home for hurting me,” Cyrus recalled in her 2009 memoir, Miles to Go. “It starts with a list of what I ‘hate.’ … My heart knew from the start that it was going to be a love story. Why does he get a love song? Because I don’t hate him. I won’t let myself hate anybody.” The “Lovebug” crooner went on to tie the knot with Priyanka Chopra Jonas in 2018, and the couple revealed earlier this year that they welcomed their first child via surrogate. Cyrus, for her part, was married to Liam Hemsworth for less than one year before the twosome called it quits in August 2019. The exes finalized their divorce in January 2020. After pulling the plug on her marriage, the actress reflected on her hopes for a long-term love. “When I come home, I want to be anchored by someone,” she explained on The Howard Stern Show in December 2020. “I don’t get off on drama or fighting. … You’re attracted to that heat, and me being an intense person and not wanting to sit with it, and not wanting to go, you know, ‘What could be purposeful about this?’ I just clung to what I had left of that house, which was me and him. And I really do and did love him very, very, very much and still do, always will.” Since splitting from Hemsworth, 32, Cyrus has been linked to Kaitlynn Carter and Cody Simpson. Earlier this month, Us Weekly confirmed that the “Malibu” artist is dating drummer Maxx Morando. “It’s a new relationship. They’re still getting to know each other at the moment,” a source exclusively told Us. “They’re having fun and have been spending a lot of time together. |

Vanderpump Rules’ Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz’s Relationship Timeline Posted: 22 Mar 2022 05:00 PM PDT Showing it all. Since Vanderpump Rules debuted on Bravo in 2013, Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz have been candid about their road to marriage. The couple originally met two years before their romance was documented on screen. At the time, Schwartz showed up to a group event with another date instead of Maloney. “He had a girl with him, that was the funny part was that finally I’m meeting this guy that supposedly wants to meet me, that’s so perfect for me, and he’s got a girl with him,” Maloney recalled to The Daily Dish in March 2017. Schwartz noted during the same interview that their initial encounter didn’t make him think they had a future together. “The very first night there was no spark,” he added, “But the second night I was introduced to her and given a little backstory, that’s when it clicked.” After they started dating, Maloney and Schwartz decided to keep their romance "very casual" instead of putting a label on it. The Utah native later explained how she decided to take things to the next level. "I didn't ask you what we were. I was like, 'So, I know I haven't really been wanting a relationship. You haven't really been wanting a relationship. But, we both really like each other and I think we should give this a real shot," she said during a joint interview on her podcast “You’re Gonna Love Me” in August 2020. "I basically asked you to be my boyfriend and you said, 'Well, I don't know if I'll be a very good boyfriend, but I'm down to give it a shot." The former SUR waitress added: "I was like, 'Good enough for me, because I don't know how I'm going to be either.' But then, you know, 10 years later here we are." Three years after they first appeared on Vanderpump Rules, the pair tied the knot in California in 2016. Maloney and Schwartz later revealed that due to lost paperwork, the union wasn’t legal — which led to a second wedding ceremony in 2019. As their romantic woes played out on screen, Maloney addressed the assumption that the duo are always fighting. "I just want to say, I feel like the misconceptions of our relationship is that we are like, Tom's deeply unhappy and I'm a miserable shrew of a wife," she said on a February 2021 episode of her podcast. "I mean, we don't hide our fights. We have, you've seen on the show like pretty intense, horrific fights that, you know, suck. But, we've always been willing and able to like, live our relationship out loud. So you, you do see like the worst of the worst, but that's not like the constant daily for us." Schwartz, for his part, admitted that there were times he wasn’t sure about their future together. "I'm happy we made it for sure," he shared. "There were points in our relationship. Which always kills me to say, which I didn't think we were going to make it, you know?" He continued: "But you know, there were points in the relationship where I was reluctant and unsure about our future as we've talked about many times, but, you know, right now, I'm happier than I've ever been.” However, after sparking split speculation when Maloney ditched her wedding ring in March 2022, the couple officially announced their breakup via Instagram. She filed for divorce one week later, Us Weekly confirmed. Scroll down to relive Schwartz and Maloney’s romance: ![]() The duo started dating after their friend Kristen Doute set them up. I mean, we went to hell and back before we got married, and essentially we'd had to burn our relationship to the ground, and once we had gotten married we'd really recommitted and were on such a good path together that I just would never have expected to hear that.” Mediapunch/Shutterstock ![]() Maloney and Schwartz tied the knot for the second time in 2019. We were stubborn. We put the work in and now I can say, without a doubt, I'm happier than I've ever been. I think we both are.” He added: “There were times early on that I definitely didn't think it was going to last. I think we both had moments early on like various, but man, I'm just so happy we made it.” KCR/Shutterstock ![]() During season 9 of Vanderpump Rules, Maloney and Schwartz opened up about their decision to have an abortion in the past. “I know I wanted to have kids, but I just knew that that was just not the time in my life,” she explained, referring to her pregnancy from their first year of dating. “Everyone, every woman, every person should be able to decide what’s best for them.” Schwartz, for his part, noted that he wasn't in a place to look after a child, saying, “I think we would have broken up [and felt] like, ‘This is too much.’ But we would have been good parents.” The Minnesota native said he felt ready to start a family with his wife. “You’re gonna be such a good mom. I’m gonna be such a good dad,” he told Maloney. “There aren’t a lot of things I’m 100 percent sure about in life, but I’m 100 percent sure I’m gonna be a good dad.” Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() "Goodbye 2021. "There was one thing that was sent to me that was probably one of the worst things I've ever seen. There was speculation that Tom was hooked on heroin. That is just taking it too far. That's just dangerous allegations," Maloney shared about posts discussing her husband's online absence. "Tom has been traveling to see his dad because he's in the hospital and really struggling with his health. They are blaming his absence on heavy drug use." Gregory Pace/Shutterstock ![]() After Maloney was spotted without her wedding ring in early March, they revealed their breakup via their respective Instagram accounts on March 15. “After 12 years on an adventure through life together Tom and I are ending our marriage," Maloney wrote. "This ending is not met with resentment or animosity ... We have deep admiration for one another that will always remain and we cherish our friendship. Although we may be on different paths we will continue to love and support one another’s happiness.” Schwartz echoed the same sentiment in his statement, though he also revealed that his estranged wife was the one who pulled the plug on their marriage. "Fully respect Katie’s decision and we’ve had healthy, productive conversations about it," he shared. "It would be far sadder if she decided to stay with me whilst not happy.” He went on to say that despite the ups and downs that played out on Pump Rules, he and Maloney "had some of the most blissful, romantic, fun times humanely possible over the course of our relationship. I’m talking heaven on earth level joy." Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() Maloney officially filed for divorce from Schwartz one week after they announced their split, Us Weekly confirmed. Bravo Bromance! Southern Charm's Austen and Craig's Friendship Ups and Downs Posted: 22 Mar 2022 04:52 PM PDT Bravo bromance! Southern Charm fans have seen many friendships come and go on the series, but when Austen Kroll joined the cast in season 4, his instant bond with Craig Conover was hard to miss. Conover, who has been part of the reality series since its 2014 start, connected with Kroll in 2016 when he started filming with the Charleston, South Carolina, residents. Unlike most of the original cast who come from Southern aristocracy, both Conover and Kroll are working men. Their struggles to get their careers off the ground — Conover is the founder of Sewing Down South while Kroll is the suds master for Kings Calling Brewing Co. — is only part of what brought them together. After breaking off their respective romances — Conover split from Naomie Olindo in 2017 and Kroll and Madison LeCroy called it quits for good in December 2020 — the pals embraced life without girlfriends. The attorney and the North Carolina native's single status caused a bit of controversy in December 2020 after the pair sparked up a friendship with Kristin Cavallari a few months prior. Following a trip to Nashville, some fans thought Kroll was more than just friends with the True Comfort author. Conover exclusively told Us Weekly at the time that his longtime friend needed to "heal from his trauma" with LeCroy before he would seriously consider dating Cavallari, who split from husband Jay Cutler in April 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. The Delaware native said he would be "fine" with his Southern Charm costar dating Cavallari in the future, noting that fans hadn't seen the last of their new friendship group, which also included Cavallari's BFF Justin Anderson. "I think you saw our chemistry the other night and when Taylor Swift comes on, all of the walls come down and apparently we go live," Conover told Us. "We'll have to see what happens. I don't know. I can't speak for them, but I think you'll see a lot of the four of us in the future." Seven months later, Conover was romantically linked to the Very Cavallari alum himself when rumors surfaced that the Balancing in Heels author was in a love triangle with the two Bravo reality stars. Cavallari denied the allegations in July 2021, but the relationship rumors made headlines again in January 2022 after Conover claimed during a Summer House episode that he had "hooked up with her before." During the episode, which filmed in July 2021, Conover claimed that Kroll was jealous of the romance. However, a source exclusively told Us at the time that Cavallari "never hooked up" with the southern gentleman. Despite their rumored love triangle with Cavallari — and butting heads on Southern Charm on more than one occasion — Conover and Kroll can't help but gush over each other. “There’s a really fun side to his personality. We travel together a lot,” the Charleston School of Law graduate said during an October 2021 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen about Kroll. “There is a side to Austen that’s very lighthearted and fun and funny and fun to be around.” Scroll down to see Conover and Kroll's friendship ups and downs: ![]() The beermaker first appeared on the Bravo series during season 4, which filmed in the summer and fall of 2016. Conover and Kroll later documented their trip to Nashville when they hung out with Cavallari and her BFF Anderson. “She came to town with her friend Justin and the four of us [with Craig] had dinner,” Kroll exclusively told Us about their friendship in October 2020. “We’ve all been in contact ever since. We’re in this, like, big old group chat, and the group chat is active. The person he was referring to was later confirmed by LeCroy as Alex Rodriguez, who at the time was engaged to Jennifer Lopez. The hairstylist, however, denied to Page Six that there was anything “physical” between them.A source close to Rodriguez exclusively told Us at the time that the former athlete “never met” LeCroy. After Kroll opened up about his rocky relationship with the South Carolina native, whom he split from for good in December 2020, Conover had his back. “You’re a terrible person and you’re a trash can,” the lawyer said during the reunion, directing his anger at LeCroy. You’re used to seeing us in suits and dressed up, and in very, like, social settings, but this will be the first time you get to see us really in a day to day.” Kroll agreed, telling Us, “It’ll be a new side of our personality … [but] that also comes with its cons, because you also get to see us in our worst moments too. But I think it should be a healthy balance.” Courtesy Austen Kroll/Instagram ![]() “Minnesota. Peanuts. 4th of July. America. The twosome confirmed their romance in September of that year while attending Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke’s wedding. One month later, Kroll commented on his pal’s relationship. "A thousand percent I see why they get along," he told E! News in October 2021. "It's something that I thought was going to happen in the house, but Craig had a girlfriend. You'll see some different things happen there. I for sure saw this happening." Kroll added: "They vibe with each other well. Like Craig is so more up her alley than other people in the house, I think. And the way the way that they laugh and banter and vibe, that's what I think makes them [work]." Courtesy Craig Conover/Instagram ![]() Conover claimed during a January 2022 episode of Summer House that he and Cavallari had a romantic relationship after previously sparking love triangle rumors involving the Hills alum and Kroll in July 2021. “I’ve hooked up with her before,” Conover told DeSorbo during the episode, which filmed in July 2021. He added that Kroll “hates that I was making out [with Kristin],” seemingly confirming that he and Cavallari were more than just friends at one point. A source close to the Laguna Beach alum exclusively told Us after the episode aired that “they never hooked up,” noting that Cavallari thinks the Bravo personality is “just capitalizing on her name.” During a February 2022 episode of Summer House, DeSorbo revealed more details about Conover’s alleged text messages with Cavallari about the hookup. “I guess she texted him like, ‘You are not going to make me look like an idiot with her.’ And like, ‘If you want her, like, go have her. Just don’t make me look stupid,’” DeSorbo claimed. “And he was like, ‘OK, but you went on Instagram and lied.’ Like, ‘You can’t say you were never going to date either of us. We f—ked.'" ABC/WDTV ![]() Conover exclusively told Us in March 2022 that he stopped talking to Kroll for about two months after he learned of his actions on Summer House season 6. The attorney explained that he had an issue with how the beermaker treated their pal Ciara Miller, who Kroll previously dated on Winter House. “I was just really disappointed,” the Pillow Talk: What's Wrong with My Sewing? author said at the time. “I don't watch the shows, just for my own sanity, but when I found out that he was kissing Lindsay [Hubbard] after kissing Ciara, I was just like, ‘Dude, that's literally everything that Lindsay wanted to happen.’ He just crushed Ciara. … I was just really disappointed in him.” Conover noted that they have since mended fences. “Austen's actually in a really great place now. Since last fall, [Austen] and Paige [and] Ciara [have] been working to better themselves. So I feel bad a little bit that he has to, like, replay [all] of this now eight months later,” he told Us. “Current day we're in a great spot. Him and I are about to go on tour and we've worked through all of our issues. But it wasn't the best showing.” Stewart Cook/Shutterstock |
Officially Over: Katie Maloney Files for Divorce From Tom Schwartz Posted: 22 Mar 2022 04:52 PM PDT ![]() Making it official. Days after announcing their decision to part ways, Katie Maloney filed for divorce from Tom Schwartz on Tuesday, March 22, Us Weekly can confirm.
Schwartz and Maloney’s relationship was explored on Vanderpump Rules since the series debuted in 2013. The pair, who tied the knot twice on screen, took to social media on March 15 to announce their split. "Well this sucks,” the TomTom co-owner, 39, wrote in a lengthy Instagram statement at the time. “I'm not the victim. Not gonna write too sad a song. Fully respect Katie's decision and we've had healthy, productive conversations about it. It would be far sadder if she decided to stay with me whilst not happy." Schwartz noted that his "heart aches" amid his separation from his estranged wife, 35. “How am I supposed to capture 12 years of love in a f–king canned Instagram caption. I’m not quite ready to use the ‘D’ word bc it’s too painful,” he added. “We had some of the most blissful, romantic, fun times humanly possible over the course of our relationship. I’m talking heaven on earth level joy. She taught me so much about love & being a better partner.” Maloney, for her part, opened up about her decision to pull the plug on their relationship after 12 years together. “There wasn’t some crazy fight that resulted in this. It was my decision, which was probably the hardest and most painful decision I’ve ever had to make. But [it was] the best and only way I can describe it is just waking up and having this voice that just became louder and louder,” the “You’re Gonna Love Me” podcast host said in an episode that same month. “[Also] just events in my life and in our relationship coming into focus and feeling the weight of them on me.” The Utah native admitted that she attempted to “deny” the feelings that convinced her to make the major life change. “I wanted to push them out of my head because I love Tom. We have built a life together, he was my person and I wanted to be with him forever. But ultimately, I just wasn’t happy,” she said. “For a long time, I sat with it. I thought about it and I didn’t talk to anyone about it for a long time. I wanted to know, if it was just something else that was making me feel this way [and] that it was coming from a different place.” At the time, Maloney revealed that the former couple were still living together as they figured out their respective next steps. “It’s been the best case scenario I could possibly imagine or hope for,” she shared. “I’m so grateful that we don’t have resentment and animosity. It would be truly heartbreaking. If we got to a point in our marriage, where there was resentment and anger and we spent a lifetime together and ended up hating one another after that I would be truly heartbroken.” A source exclusively told Us Weekly that same month that the breakup wouldn’t affect the duo’s involvement in a potential season 10 of Vanderpump Rules. “Fans will see their divorce play out,” the insider said, adding that no contracts have been signed yet. |
Pete Davidson 'Hasn't Changed' Kim K.'s Friendship With Ariana Grande Posted: 22 Mar 2022 03:50 PM PDT Sisters before misters. Kim Kardashian is dating Ariana Grande‘s ex-fiancé Pete Davidson, but the romance hasn’t changed the way the two women feel about each other. “Kim and Ariana are friends and have been for the past few years,” an insider exclusively tells Us Weekly of the Skims founder, 41, and the “7 Rings” singer, 28. “Whenever they’re at the same event, they make sure to say hi to each other.” The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum has been dating the Saturday Night Live star, also 28, since October 2021. The duo connected earlier that month after the reality star made her SNL hosting debut. The “Break Free” songstress, for her part, got engaged to Davidson in June 2018 after a whirlwind romance. The twosome called it quits four months later. “Just because Kim is now dating Ariana’s ex Pete, it hasn’t changed their friendship,” the source adds. “They adore each other and support each other’s brands.” Earlier this month, Grande made headlines when she sent Kardashian a press package for her new r.e.m. beauty launches. The Selfish author showed off the goodies via Instagram, tagging both the Grammy winner and the brand. ![]() The “Dangerous Woman” singer has a long history with the Kardashian-Jenner family. After her split from Davidson, the Florida native moved on with Dalton Gomez, whom she began dating in January 2020. The couple tied the knot in May 2021 at a private ceremony held at her home in Montecito, California. Grande’s wedded bliss is one reason she has “no ill will” for her ex’s romance with Kim, the insider tells Us. “Ariana has completely moved on from Pete,” the source adds. “What they had was in the past. If anything, Ariana would be cheering on Pete and Kim’s relationship since she ultimately wants Kim to find happiness too.” The KKW Beauty mogul and the comedian made their romance Instagram official on March 11, with a series of photos shared via Kim’s account. The pictures were snapped during the couple’s pre-Valentine’s Day date in February. ![]() "Kim and Pete are very much excited about what the future holds for them as a couple," an insider told Us last month. "She adores Pete [and] they're spending as much time together as they can.” The California native filed for divorce from ex-husband Kanye West in February 2021. The former couple share kids North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2. Earlier this month, a judge declared Kim legally single and restored her maiden name. The rapper, 44, has been linked to Irina Shayk and Julia Fox. More recently, West — who has made his thoughts about Kardashian and Davidson’s relationship well known — has been spotted with Chaney Jones, who some fans believe bears a striking resemblance to Kim. Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder didn’t waste any time taking the next step in their relationship, getting engaged in January 2015 just six months after they started dating. The next step came just as quickly when the pair married in April 2015. "I still have no idea if we're doing it right, but I know we both wake up every day and choose each other," the Twilight actress wrote via Instagram to celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary in April 2019. "We've seen a lot, we've done a lot, we've laughed a lot, we've laughed a lot of it off, and we've continued to be each other's biggest cheerleaders, and truest support system." Us Weekly confirmed the couple were dating in 2014. In the years since, they've welcomed a daughter, Bodhi Soleil, and continue to share their love for each other every chance they get. Before Bodhi was born in July 2017, Somerhalder opened up about his desire to start a family with the Thirteen actress. "Oh, I will one day have amazing children with my beautiful wife. Absolutely, definitely," he told Modern Luxury magazine in October 2016. Since their daughter's birth, the Louisiana native has continued singing Reed's praises. Prince William and Duchess Kate's Royal Caribbean Tour Highlights: Photos Posted: 22 Mar 2022 02:46 PM PDT To mark Queen Elizabeth II's 70th year on the throne, Prince William and Duchess Kate embarked on an overseas trip to tour the Caribbean. "Throughout the tour, The Duke and Duchess will meet a wide variety of people from each country, including children, young people and families, frontline workers, service personnel, leaders from government, business and the charity sector as well as inspiring conservationists, and the early years workforce," the royal family's official Instagram account stated on Sunday, March 20, the second day of their trip. "Their [program] will also touch on a number of themes that are close to Their Royal Highnesses' hearts and a key focus of their work with The Royal Foundation, including The Earthshot Prize, mental health and the importance of early childhood to lifelong outcomes." During their time in Belize, the trip took an unexpected turn when William, 39, and Kate, 40, canceled their first outing at a sustainable cocoa farm in Indian Creek. The decision came amid protests about indigenous rights and colonialism. Ahead of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s arrival, local villagers staged a protest and noted their frustration with the royals’ arrival on their land. At the time, village youth leader Dionisio Shol explained why William and Kate’s helicopter arrival created an issue for the locals. "For us it really hits right at home because of the treatment. The organizer said we had to let them use the football field and that people were coming to our village and it had to look good. But they didn’t want to divulge who,” Shol told the Daily Mail. "That's where the first issue arose. These are high-profile people, we respect them, but they also have to be giving respect to the community leaders. Giving community leaders commands did not sit well with the community." The palace responded to the concerns with their own statement to The Guardian, explaining, "We can confirm that due to sensitive issues involving the community in Indian Creek, the visit has been moved to a different location. Further details will be provided in due course." Following the delay, William and Kate continued with their travels in both Belize and to other countries in the British Commonwealth. “Catherine and I are delighted to be here in Belize at the beginning of our first official visit to the Caribbean. I am honoured to convey the very warmest wishes from my grandmother, The Queen of Belize, on the occasion of her Platinum Jubilee,” the duo’s official Instagram account stated on Monday, March 21. “In our short time here, Catherine and I have been lucky enough to witness some of the extraordinary biodiversity that you so lovingly nurture here in your jungles and your reefs.” The U.K. native concluded: “Alongside this environmental diversity, yesterday we also had a taste of Belize's wonderful cultural diversity – from Mayan chocolate to Garifuna drumming. And yes, you even got us dancing!” William and Kate, who share children Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3, also used their platform to highlight how the government of Belize is attempting to combat climate change. “Belize is home to the second largest barrier reef in the world,” their social media account shared alongside a video of William and Kate diving at South Water Caye on Tuesday, March 22. “While the effects of climate change are evident, the Government of Belize and communities across the country deserve huge recognition for their efforts to restore this incredible marine environment – with a commitment to protect 30% of it by 2030.” Scroll down for highlights from William and Kate’s Caribbean tour: ![]() The twosome coordinated during their arrival by wearing blue hues as a nod to the country’s royal color. Cassie Randolph Details 'Horrible' Way She Learned Ex Colton Came Out Posted: 22 Mar 2022 02:06 PM PDT After Cassie Randolph surprised fans with an appearance on the Bachelor season finale earlier this month, she joined Kaitlyn Bristowe for a candid interview about her reality past — and her off-camera future. “I don’t think I even meant to not do it,” the Bachelor alum, 26, said during the Tuesday, March 22, episode of the “Off the Vine” podcast, explaining why she hasn’t talked much about her time on the ABC series. “I think it just kind of happened that way. … If they ever wanted me to, like, make an appearance like the other night, it was super fun. So, I was like, ‘Of course,’ but it just never really comes up.” Before her appearance on the March 15 finale of Clayton Echard‘s season, Randolph had stayed quiet about her time on the show. Colton Underwood chose her as the winner in season 23, which aired in 2019, and the duo dated until May 2020. The California native later filed a temporary restraining order against the former football player, 30, alleging that he stalked and harassed her. The restraining order was dropped in November 2020, and five months later, Underwood came out as gay. During her interview with Bristowe, 36, Randolph claimed that her ex didn’t give her a heads up about the Good Morning America appearance where he revealed his sexuality. “I found out the same way that everyone else did,” she explained, adding that she saw a video about the news on social media. “It was horrible.” (Underwood announced his engagement to Jordan C. Brown in February.) Randolph’s appearance on the Bachelor finale marked the first time she’d spoken about her time on the show. “I feel like people were so shocked that I was on,” she told Bristowe. “I would love to know why people thought it was such a big deal.” During the episode, the Biola University graduate told host Jesse Palmer that she saw similarities between her time on the show and Susie Evans‘ situation with Echard, 28. The wedding videographer, also 28, decided to leave in the fantasy suites episode after learning that the Missouri native had been intimate with the other two finalists. Randolph similarly left the show before Underwood sent his other two finalists home to win her back. "I definitely was having déjà vu watching this, for sure,” the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire alum said during the finale. “I think the fact that Susie left in the first place just kind of shows, you know, she really stuck with her intuition and was right — as hard as it was, she had to leave.” Randolph added that she hoped Evans didn’t feel any “pressure” to reunite with Echard if he tried to win her back — which he did. The duo revealed during the finale that they got back together after filming ended. “When she initially came on the show, she wanted to find something,” Randolph said. “I just hope that she sticks with her intuition." Keep scrolling for more revelations from Randolph’s appearance on “Off the Vine.” ![]() The reality star explained that she hasn't spoken much about her relationship with Underwood because she's not yet comfortable with sharing too many details. "I haven't talked about it, so it's really hard for me to talk about it at all, or even know the right thing to say when addressing it," she told Bristowe. "I feel so much pressure when asked about it that I would love to be able to be open and candid about things, but I'm just not there yet. I'm sure I will one day want to speak on it because there's just a lot there." Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock ![]() The speech pathologist said she knew viewers would wonder if she felt pressure to take Underwood back because of her comments about Evans potentially feeling the same way about Echard. "I had a feeling that when I was saying that, people were gonna allude to that," she explained, adding that she doesn't actually remember too much about how she felt at the time. "It was so long ago now. ... There was definitely an aspect of pressure, obviously, because you're on this huge national show, and you're like, 'Any decision I make, people are gonna judge.' It's kinda hard to know why I did what I did." She added that she wished she'd had more time to decide whether she really wanted to reunite with Underwood. "It's overwhelming," she said. "There's so much happening. 'But do I want to? Is this the right decision for me? Is it the right decision for him, for the show?' It would have been nice to have a week to think about things. ... Instead, you're sitting there on the spot like, 'What should I do?' [It's] this huge decision." ABC/Ricky Middlesworth ![]() "I think I've really grown into myself the last few years," Randolph said, reflecting on how she's changed since her time on The Bachelor. "I mean, so much has happened. ... I feel a lot more decisive, I guess, in what I want or my opinions on things. [During the show], I think I was just very young. It was so new that now I've kind of gotten used to this new kind of life change, and I can more clearly see things for what they are." CraSH/imageSPACE/Shutterstock ![]() The Young Once alum has been dating Brighton Reinhardt since May 2021. "He's a great person," Randolph said of her beau. "It's very, like, natural. So easy. Which I never understood until this [relationship]. ... I'm never questioning him or us. It's more just we get annoyed at little things." When Bristowe asked if they'd started talking about next steps, Randolph replied, "We've definitely talked about the future. There's no, like, plans on the horizon that I am aware of." Outlander's Sam Heughan Is Writing His Memoir in the Scottish Highlands Posted: 22 Mar 2022 12:58 PM PDT Putting pen to paper! Whether it be a memoir, children’s book or something in between, celebrities — including the Kardashian sisters, Michelle Obama and Mindy Kaling — have all taken their talents outside of the realm of Hollywood by becoming successful authors. The Mindy Project alum made her authorial debut in 2011 when Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) hit shelves, followed by Questions I Ask When I Want to Talk About Myself: 50 Topics to Share With Friends in 2013 and Why Not Me? in 2015. Her 2020 essay collection, Nothing Like I Imagined (Except for Sometimes), explored her identities as an Indian woman, an actress and a single mom. “I think I am so used to labels. The labels have been the center stone of my entire career. And sometimes they’re useful because it separates me from other people,” the Never Have I Ever producer told NPR in October 2020. “But I don’t think I would get far in this business if I had a thin skin about labels because for me — and it’s not just those. It’s, like, not traditionally thin, like, dark-skinned, like, not your Bollywood — so I’ve had these since — pretty much since I had my own show, I was sort of inundated with how other I was and really quickly. I think I’m pretty comfortable with them. And actually as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to embrace them a little bit.” Kaling welcomed her daughter, Katherine, in 2017, and her son, Spencer, made a surprise arrival three years later. Dating as a single mother has been “complicated,” she wrote in her 2020 book. “Sometimes it’s the most liberating and lucky feeling in the world,” she explained. “Sometimes I am just so grateful to be an independent woman doing what I want, when I want, that I could cry with gratitude. … I save a truly staggering amount of time not having to run my parenting decisions by another person. Good or bad, I can just, like, quickly make a decision and move on with my day.” While the Office alum chose to go into detail about her current lifestyle, Obama delved deeper into her upbringing in her 2018 memoir, Becoming, which sold more than 2 million copies in two weeks, breaking the record for the year’s highest-selling book. In 24 chapters, the former first lady describes how her childhood in Chicago led her to where she is now. Obama embarked on a nationwide tour to promote the book, sitting down with an accomplished and diverse group of guests in front of sold-out crowds. In 2020, the Princeton University grad earned the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for her reading of the audiobook and released a Netflix documentary based on her memoir. “So little of who I am happened in those eight years [in the White House],” she said in the film’s trailer. “So much more of who I was happened before. … We can’t afford to wait for the world to be equal to start feeling seen.” Scroll down for a recap of some of the most successful stars-turned-authors: ![]() While marking her 40th birthday in March 2022, the Fresh Off the Boat alum unveiled the cover of her memoir, Making a Scene. John Hersey 'Absolutely' Believed on 'Bachelorette' He'd End Up With Katie Posted: 22 Mar 2022 11:52 AM PDT Even Katie Thurston didn't know what she was promising when she declared her Bachelorette ending was a "first" for the franchise. After appearing on season 25 of The Bachelor, which aired in early 2021, ABC named the Washington native their season 17 star. She subsequently started filming in Palm Springs and met 30 contestants, including bartender John Hersey. She sent the California native home during week two of the competition. Blake Moynes, who originally competed on season 16 of The Bachelorette in 2020, joined the cast when there were 14 men remaining. The Canada native admitted that he reached out to Thurston while Matt James' season was airing and felt like they would have a connection. After two of Thurston's top four quit — Greg Grippo and Michael Allio — she gave Moynes her final rose, sending home Justin Glaze. Thurston and Moynes' proposal aired on the August 2021 finale of The Bachelorette. The twosome told Us Weekly at the time that they weren't in a rush to move in together as they navigated their post-show future. By October, she admitted to Us that the twosome were "winging" things as Moynes traveled to Africa for work. "The short version is we're figuring it out. We don't know. This is very new to us still. I'm just focusing on myself, he's focusing on him, and if we work doing that, great. If not —” Thurston told Us before trailing off backstage at Whitney Cummings' comedy show. Days after the performance, Thurston and Moynes announced their engagement was over. She subsequently told her Instagram followers that the twosome "owe it to each other to step away" from their relationship because it wasn't working. "We were together for six months [and] Blake and I are very level-headed and mature, and we communicate very well on our thoughts," Thurston told fans on October 31, 2021. "And we just both knew if this was how our first six months was as a couple, going forward it was going to not be in our best interest for our happiness to stay together." Moynes, for his part, admitted things haven't "been easy" for him as he returned to social media post-split on November 9, 2021. Later that month, Us broke the news that Thurston was seeing Hersey. Her rep later confirmed the news via a statement: "It's known Katie and John became close friends post-season. John has been there for her through all the major changes in her life, and they are excited to explore this newly found romantic connection." Scroll through for a complete timeline of her relationship with Hersey: ![]() During night one of Thurston’s season, which filmed in March 2021, she admitted that Hersey was her “type” when he walked out of the limo. By week two, however, she sent him packing. ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() In May 2021, Thurston nearly ran into Hersey at a San Diego beach with friends. “John is surfing on this exact beach — very, very randomly, a rose floats by in the water. And he's like, ‘That's incredibly strange.’ … Just a very strange occurrence,” the duo’s mutual friend Stephen Lovegrove later recalled on Us’ “Here for the Right Reasons” podcast in September 2021. “He surfs, he goes home, we take photos, we get ice cream, we go home. And later that afternoon, John sees from Katie's account, all these photos go up and realizes as he was surfing with this random rose floating by, he was literally 100 feet away from the Bachelorette, who he had just filmed this season [with]. It was such a random coincidence that we didn't find out about till a long time later.” During that trip, Thurston was also spotted at Duke’s in La Jolla, where Hersey was a bartender. As her season aired in summer 2021, there was a fan theory that she got back together with Hersey due to the photos from the bar. “Through all of that speculation, at some point, I reached out to John and made a joke about I hope you and Katie are doing so well,” Lovegrove told Us. “And anyway, our friendship was born out of all of that. But yes, the Duke’s trip that threw off every spoiler page by total accident happened in the midst of the now-infamous San Diego trip [that sparked the love triangle with Alana Milne, Chris Conran and Jessenia Cruz on Bachelor in Paradise], as well.” ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() Despite his early departure, Hersey was always team Thurston, defending her after she accused finalist Greg Grippo of gaslighting her during their messy split on an August episode. “I watched [Monday] night's episode and was shocked by some of the behavior I witnessed, namely the words and body language exhibited by Greg,” Hersey wrote via Instagram Stories at the time. "Watching these actions get defended (and therefore normalized) strikes me as extremely unhealthy and a step in the wrong direction.” He added: "An individual can be a good friend to some while simultaneously being harmful to others in another relationship. Friendship cannot be an excuse to blindly defend someone's behavior.” ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() After moving to San Diego, Thurston continued to spend time with Hersey amid her long-distance relationship with Moynes. She previously told Cummings that Moynes was OK with her hanging out with her former suitor. “He’s not intimidated by anything. I’m actually really close friends with John Hersey, which is a week two guy from my season, which I think most men would be like, ‘Well that’s kind of weird,’ but [Blake’s] just like, ‘Do your thing, whatever,’” Thurston said on the September 30 episode of the comedian’s “Good For You” podcast. Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock ![]() After spending the month apart amid his work trip to Africa, Thurston and Moynes reunited and announced their split on October 25, 2021. “It is with mutual love and respect that we have decided to go our separate ways. We are so grateful for the moments we shared together and the entire journey that has unfolded this year, but we ultimately have concluded that we are not compatible as life partners, and it is the most caring choice for both of us to move forward independently,” the twosome wrote via Instagram at the time. “We ask for kindness and privacy as we both navigate this transition. Both of us will forever want the best for one another and ask you to please support us in our decision.” ABC/Craig Sjodin ![]() Social media began to speculate about Thurston’s relationship with Hersey after she shared a picture of the flowers she received following her split from Moynes with a note that read: “These are not romantic flowers. These are happy flowers. Because I do not want you to be… I want you to be happy.” Bachelor Nation was convinced that the note was from Hersey. Three days later, Thurston posted a throwback video on November 7 of “the first time I saw John since filming.” She then hinted that fans weren’t on the right track by sharing Polaroid photos with him, writing, “Y’all getting wild in my DMs." Courtesy Katie Thurston/Instagram ![]() Thurston began her “12 Days of Messy” challenge in mid-November, dedicating Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” to her former fiancé. Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock ![]() The lovebirds packed on the PDA in a TikTok video just hours after Us confirmed their romance on November 23. On the red carpet, Thurston gushed about how she's "the happiest" she's been in a long time. “It’s very easy to just enjoy and live my life — and that’s kind of what we’re doing. Amanda Bynes' Conservatorship Terminated After Nearly 9 Years Posted: 22 Mar 2022 11:33 AM PDT ![]() A new chapter. Amanda Bynes is officially free from her conservatorship. A judge put an end to the 35-year-old actress’ nine-year adult guardianship on Tuesday, March 22, TMZ reports. The decision comes after the star’s mother, Lynn Bynes, submitted a declaration of support for Amanda’s request to terminate her conservatorship earlier this month, according to documents exclusively obtained by Us Weekly on Monday, March 21. The former child star was first placed under a temporary conservatorship in August 2013 amid a series of mental health and substance abuse issues. The decision came shortly after Bynes was hospitalized and placed on a psychiatric hold for setting a fire in a neighbor’s driveway. In August 2014, Lynn was named the conservator of her daughter’s health care and personal matters. Four years later, a judge ruled to extend the conservatorship through August 2020. In August 2021, the conservatorship of her estate was terminated, but her mother still had legal control of her person, meaning she could make medical decisions for her daughter. More recently, however, Lynn made it clear that she understood her daughter was able to make such decisions independently. In the March court docs, Lynne explained that her decision to support Amanda was "in light of and solely based on the capacity declaration" signed by Dr. Kimberly Brown, who works at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The Easy A actress petitioned to end her conservatorship on February 23 and filed a mental capacity declaration stating that she is mentally fit to look after herself. In court documents obtained by Us Weekly at the time, Amanda’s psychiatrist noted that the former Nickelodeon star has "no apparent impairment in alertness and attention, information and processing or ability to modulate mood and affect and suffers no thought disorders." The petition also detailed the All That alum’s 2020 move to a structured facility for women before she transitioned to an "an independent living environment" where she has consistently tested negative for "illicit substances in her system." In her filing, the What a Girl Wants star stated that she "desires to live free of any constraint” in the future. Shortly after filing to end her conservatorship, the She’s the Man actress thanked her fans for their support. "What's up Instagram, Amanda Bynes here," the California native said in an Instagram video posted on March 8. "My court date is coming up in two weeks. I want to thank you all so much for your love and support. Peace out." One day later, the former Amanda Show star revealed that she was having her heart face tattoo removed ahead of her conservatorship hearing. "Tattoo removal progress," she captioned an Instagram video shared on March 9. She first debuted the ink in December 2019 in a photo shared on her since-deleted Instagram account. Amanda’s lawyer, David Esquibias, exclusively told Us last year that the What I Like About You alum had been hoping for her freedom for some time. "She's doing great," the attorney explained in September 2021. "Everyone would love to see Amanda not under a conservatorship. I think that is the goal between myself, her mother, her father and her care providers. Amanda would love to be unconserved. She's expressed it over and over. The timing is not right at the moment, so she's working toward that direction. We all are working toward that direction, and one day we all hope to see it." Days ahead of her conservatorship being terminated, an insider exclusively told Us that the fight to end the legal guardianship has Amanda excited for the future. "She's doing great both physically and mentally," the source said earlier this month. "It's beyond gratifying to know her parents and of course [fiancé Paul] Michael are by her side," the insider continued. "Her folks are very happy for her. They adore Amanda and always prayed and believed there would be an end to those dark and unhappy days when she was struggling. Seeing her display so much courage and heart makes them proud." |
Oscar Isaac’s Brother Helped Him Play Dual Personalities in 'Moon Knight' Posted: 22 Mar 2022 10:58 AM PDT Mixing family with business! Many famous families have several actors in them — and some of those relatives have gone on to share the screen together. Robbie Amell, who worked with his cousin Stephen Amell on projects like The Flash, previously explained how they looked too alike to share scenes with one another. "It's tough, we're pretty similar in look. We're not going to play related," Robbie told Entertainment Weekly in December 2019. "That was part of the reason they wouldn't let [our characters] talk to each other on The Flash, they were like, 'It's too weird. People know you're related, you can't talk to each other.' Robbie and Stephen would later go on to work together on their crowd-funded film, Code 8. “Part of it was we just needed to create something for ourselves. We figured if we weren't willing to take a bet on ourselves, then why should we expect anyone else to?” Robbie explained to EW. “We wanted to give it a shot and make something that we would be proud of, something that people backing us would be proud of." Not all family members want to work on the same projects though, including Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal, who were reluctant to team up. Richard Kelly previously spoke about having to talk Maggie into taking the role in Donnie Darko alongside her brother. “Immediately, she was like, ‘Richard, you’re only offering this to me because I’m Jake’s big sister. You should be finding the best actress for the role,'” the director told Vox in April 2017. “So she was already trying to talk me out of casting her, in a very selfless way. And I was just really impressed by that … So I was really determined to convince her to do it after that.” The film wouldn’t be what it was without the brother-sister dynamic that Maggie and Jake brought to their roles. “Maggie was really an essential piece of the puzzle that makes that family dynamic work in the film,” Kelly added. “I’m grateful that she agreed to do the role.” Dave Franco also went out of his way not to work with his brother James Franco earlier on in his career. “For a while, I made a conscious decision not to work with him, just because I wanted to pave my own path,” Dave said during an interview with Variety in November 2017. “I didn’t want to be referred to as ‘James Franco’s little brother’ for the rest of my life. But we have very similar sensibilities.” Scroll down for more stars who worked with their family on screen: ![]() The writer and director didn't have to look far when it came to casting his new movie, The Bubble, which chronicles a fictional film crew making a movie during the COVID pandemic. ‘Wow’! Joshua Jackson Reacts to Wife Jodie Turner-Smith’s Naked Photo Posted: 22 Mar 2022 09:46 AM PDT ![]() The look of love. Joshua Jackson reacted to wife Jodie Turner-Smith sharing a set of steamy photos taken while the couple got ready for the Critics’ Choice Awards. “The cat that got the cream,” the Queen and Slim star, 35, wrote via Instagram on Monday, March 21, alongside a pic of her standing nude on her balcony, in full hair and makeup. In the picture, the Dawson’s Creek alum, 43, stands behind her — already fully dressed in his tuxedo — and gazes at his wife lovingly. Later in the slideshow, the couple pull goofy faces while gazing into one another’s eyes. “You're talking about me right?” Jackson commented on the post. “I'm the cat that got the cream … because … wow.” The pair, who share 23-month-old daughter Janie, have shared several posts from the March 13 event on their respective Instagram accounts, with Turner-Smith also sharing a snapshot of Jackson checking his phone in the hotel room before the event. “He looked so gorgeous in his tux … but this effortless before-event casual look was also a panty dropper. Just saying,” the Anne Boleyn star wrote on her Instagram Story. The Fringe alum, for his part, gushed about his wife on March 14 while sharing some pictures from the night on his own account. “What a night! Great to be out again with my community and most of all with my gorgeous wife for @criticschoice,” he wrote at the time. Jackson and Turner-Smith were first linked in October 2018, and Us Weekly confirmed in December 2019 that they had quietly tied the knot. “I'm really in love with my husband,” the England native told Net-A-Porter's Porter magazine in December 2020 about her relationship with Jackson. “That might be weird for people, but I'm doing a pretty good job of not shouting that from the rooftops as much as I would like to. He's a really amazing dude.” Adding that things between them have “only gotten better” over time, Turner-Smith continued: “I feel so grateful for that. That's why I share it sometimes, because I love him. I think he's hot, I think he's smart and he's incredibly talented. I feel so lucky to be in a relationship with somebody who feels the same about me, who is not shy about telling me that or uplifting me.” The Dr. Death Star has been equally effusive about his partner, telling Refinery29 in August 2021 that he’s “obsessed” with Turner-Smith. “One, she’s very easy to love out loud and two, she’s phenomenal,” Jackson said. “And I have to say, the love and support that is coming my direction has been a revelation in my life. … I didn’t get married until fairly late in the game. I didn’t have a baby till very late in the game and they’re the two best choices I’ve ever made in my life.” |
Scott Disick’s Feelings About Kourtney and Travis: Everything We Know Posted: 22 Mar 2022 08:40 AM PDT It's safe to say Scott Disick doesn't exactly ship Kravis. Kourtney Kardashian's ex is making headlines for allegedly throwing shade at her romance with Travis Barker. The eldest sibling of the Kardashian-Jenner family dated Disick on and off for a decade until they called it quits during the summer of 2015. The pair share three kids: Mason (born in 2009), Penelope (2012) and Reign (2014). While they went on to date other people, it was a common theme on Keeping Up With the Kardashians that her family hoped the Poosh founder and the Talentless designer would find their way back to each other. However, during the June 2021 KUWTK reunion episode, she revealed that they hadn't been intimate since their split. "People cannot believe that, but we have not," Kardashian told Andy Cohen. "For real." Disick added, “How annoying.” The mother of three went on to explain why she ended their relationship: "The infidelity, I only knew about it at the end, so I think the substance abuse was the dealbreaker." Disick replied at the time: "I don't want to make any excuses for my behavior. I definitely wouldn't have done these things sober, but it was all wrong. I just thought it was normal, to be honest." After KUWTK wrapped in early 2021, Kardashian went public with her relationship with Barker, whom she secretly started seeing in late 2020. Disick, for his part, had been linked to Amelia Gray Hamlin since October 2020 after ending his three-year relationship with Sofia Richie. A source previously told Us Weekly that "things haven't been the same" for Disick and the famous family "since KUWTK stopped filming and Kourtney and Travis began dating." Another insider revealed that the couple's hot and heavy romance shows no signs of slowing down. "Their relationship has gotten more serious over the past two months," the source said in April 2021. "They love each other very much and their chemistry is off the charts." Per a third source, Kardashian is "really happy with Travis and she's gotten a lot of approval on him as well. He gets her and they have fun." But does she have Disick's approval? Scroll through for everything we know about his feelings regarding Kardashian's romance with Barker: ![]() A source told Us in February 2021 that Disick is “OK” with the romance — because he “believes he still has the upper hand being the kids’ father.” The insider added at the time that Disick and Kardashian have “an incredibly special bond that no one can ever come between” with “history … and love for each other can’t be touched by anyone else, and they both know that." Shutterstock (2) ![]() According to an insider, Disick started feeling distance from the Kardashians after wrapping KUWTK in early 2021. “Scott and Kourtney’s relationship is definitely strained,” the source said in May 2021. “They don’t communicate much unless it has to do with their kids.” The source added, “Scott feels not just disconnected from Kourtney, but also all the Kardashians. This was his biggest fear — getting out of touch with his ‘family,’ and now him being on the outskirts with Kourtney is affecting him completely.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() Disick broke his silence on Kardashian’s relationship with Barker during the June 2021 KUWTK reunion, telling Cohen that he wants her to be happy. “I think if you really love somebody, right, you want them to be happy no matter what. So I do give her a blessing to be happy,” he said before throwing shade at Kardashian’s ex Younes Bendjima when the Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen host suggested that Disick gets “really upset when Kourtney is linked to other guys.” Disick responded, “Me? No. I just want to kill them. … Well, the last guy. Let’s all be honest here.” Scott-Disick-Shades-Younes-Bendjima-Reveals-If-Hes-OK-With-Travis-Barker-002 ![]() Barker threw shade at Disick’s lady love after a social media account suggested the musician, the Flip It Like Disick alum, Kardashian and Hamlin had dinner together in May 2021. “It’s so odd to me. Like, what does a 2001 baby have to do [with] these grown ass people? I know that dinner was awkward as hell,” one social media user commented. Days later, Us confirmed the drummer’s official social media account “liked” the comment. Shutterstock (3) ![]() After Kardashian and Barker’s PDA-filled trip to Italy, Disick allegedly messaged Bendjima to throw shade. “Yo is this chick ok!????? Brooo like what is this. In the middle of Italy,” he allegedly DMed the former boxer in August 2021. Bendjima, who shared the alleged exchange via Instagram Stories, replied, “Don’t matter to me as long as she’s happy. PS: i aint your bro.” Shutterstock (3) ![]() “Scott was definitely embarrassed by Younes sharing his DM,” a source told Us in September 2021. “He didn’t realize when he messaged him that that would happen. He DMed him when he was in a heated moment and was just looking for him to react the same way being that they both dated Kourtney.” The source added that Disick is “sick of seeing photos of them splashed everywhere” and he “doesn’t think she should be showing off too much PDA because of their rated-R behavior,” which their kids can easily see online. Shutterstock (2) ![]() According to an insider, Disick and Kardashian are more “strained” than ever as of September 2021. “What’s really got him riled up is the effect Travis and Kourtney’s relationship is having on his relationship with Kourtney,” the source said. “He’s trying to be the best parent he can be for their kids and make it work coparenting, but he’s having problems now with Kourtney.” That same month, another insider told Us that “outside of coparenting, Scott and Kourtney’s relationship is nonexistent." Courtesy of Kourtney Kardashian/Instagram ![]() After news broke in October 2021 that Barker and Kourtney are engaged, a source told Us that Disick is “furious.” “He knew it was possible, but is very jealous of Kourtney and Travis’ relationship,” the source said. “Scott still thinks that they could call things off before the wedding.” MediaPunch/Shutterstock; AFF-USA/Shutterstock ![]() Disick made headlines in late September 2021 for unfollowing Kourtney — and all of her family members — on social media. The following month, however, he scored an invite to watch Kim Kardashian on Saturday Night Live alongside Khloé Kardashian and Kris Jenner. Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() Despite being spotted together at Reign's baseball game in March 2022, a source exclusively told Us that Disick "despises" Barker. The hangout was "a rare occasion," per the insider, and Disick usually "can't stand being around" the musician unless the kids are involved. "It's going to take time for him to fully accept Travis is The One for her," the source said of the Poosh founder, who Disick still views as being "the one that got away." Scott Disick 'Can't Stand Being Around' Travis Ahead of Kourtney Wedding Posted: 22 Mar 2022 08:34 AM PDT Not begging for a bromance. Scott Disick and Travis Barker were recently spotted spending time together, but a source exclusively tells Us Weekly that the outing was “a rare occasion.” The Talentless cofounder, 38, and the drummer, 46, cheered on Disick and Kourtney Kardashian‘s 7-year-old son, Reign, at a baseball game on Sunday, March 20. Along with Reign, Disick and the Poosh creator, 42, share son Mason, 12, and daughter Penelope, 9. Though they both attended the event, the New York native still isn’t the biggest fan of Barker, who proposed to Kardashian in October 2021. “[Scott] can’t stand being around him,” the insider says, claiming that Disick “despises Travis” but is attempting to put the drama aside for his son. “Scott adores his kids and would do anything to make them happy.” The twosome are “not on friendly terms” and usually only hang out “because the kids are around,” per the source. Disick dated Kardashian on and off for nearly 10 years before the duo called it quits for good in 2015. While it hasn’t always been easy, the exes have worked hard to remain cordial coparents — but the insider tells Us Disick “wishes things were different” between him and the reality star. “He feels like Kourtney was the one that got away and [he] still can’t wrap his head around the fact that they’re getting married soon,” the source adds. “He feels like he’s not going to find someone like Kourtney.” Despite the end of their romantic relationship, Disick still has “love for Kourtney,” the insider says. “It’s going to take time for him to fully accept Travis is The One for her.” Us confirmed Kardashian’s romance with the Blink-182 musician in January 2021, but the pair were friends for years before they began dating. After the couple went public, a source told Us that Disick was “OK” with the relationship and still felt that he had “an incredibly special bond [with Kourtney] that no one can ever come between.” However, things took a turn as the Flip It Like Disick alum allegedly dissed the duo’s excessive PDA in Younes Bendjima‘s DMs. “Yo is this chick ok!????? Brooo like what is this. In the middle of Italy,” the businessman wrote in an August 2021 message to the boxer, 28, who replied, “Don’t matter to me as long as she’s happy. PS: i aint your bro.” Shortly after the alleged exchange made headlines, a third source told Us that Kardashian’s relationship with Disick was “nonexistent” apart from coparenting. A fourth insider noted in October 2021 that the businessman was holding out hope that Kardashian and Barker might “call things off before the wedding.” The former E! personality and the Famous Stars and Straps creator, however, have only gotten closer — and they candidly discussed their future plans during a recent glimpse of Hulu’s The Kardashians. In a trailer released earlier this month, the couple attend a doctor’s appointment as the California native says in a voiceover, “Travis and I want to have a baby.” With reporting by Diana Cooper |
Every Former Playmate Who's Spoken Out Against Hugh Hefner Posted: 22 Mar 2022 08:19 AM PDT The truth behind the fantasy. The Playboy Mansion is the stuff of pop culture legend, but former Playmates have been brutally honest about what life was really like there — and how the late Hugh Hefner treated them. Holly Madison was never technically a Playmate, but she did live with Hefner, who died in September 2017 at age 91, at the California estate from 2001 to 2008. She starred in the series The Girls Next Door with Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt, who together made up the founder’s trio of girlfriends. After the Holly’s World alum left the mansion, however, she wasn’t afraid to speak out about what she really experienced in Hef’s orbit. In 2015, she authored Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny, which included tons of details about her time with the infamous publisher. "I learned Hef was the manipulator and that he pitted us against one another," she wrote of her relationship with other women in the house. "I realized I wasn't treated well.” In 2021, she spoke more about her memories during an interview for the A&E docuseries Secrets of Playboy. “I didn't realize that getting into the Playboy world was a dangerous choice," the Oregon native said in a promo for the show. She previously revealed that she’d struggled with body dysmorphia while dating Hefner and working for Playboy. "[I] thought I had gained weight, and thought I hadn't stuck to my diet, and I thought my thighs were huge and I thought, 'I need to lose five pounds at least,’" she said in a TikTok video, recalling how she used to watch old footage of herself. "And that's ridiculous. I look like a stick." The Vegas Diaries: Romance, Rolling the Dice and the Road to Reinvention author also compared life at the mansion to life in a “cult,” with Hefner as the leader. "It’s a very cult-like atmosphere anyway and you’re manipulated to feel that way, but on top of it, my own shame kept me there too. I just couldn’t really imagine a life outside of there," she said during an April 2021 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. "Imagine having sex with somebody in a room full of women who all hate you and you know they’re all talking s—t about you. Like, how horrible? It was gross.” Keep scrolling for a look back at all of the former Playmates and Playboy models who’ve spoken out against Hefner: ![]() In April 2021, the reality star claimed that she had to sleep with Hefner before he would allow her to move in with him, adding that she was relieved she never got pregnant while she was with him. “I knew it was because of him. I was healthy. He was just too old,” she said on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast. “When I had first gotten into that situation and something happened in my mind that first night I had sex, where I felt like, ‘OK, I did that. I, like, breached my own boundaries and I wasn’t comfortable with it. Now I have to make this situation into something.’ I almost locked myself into this box.” Rich Fury/Invision/AP/Shutterstock ![]() Though Wilkinson has spoken highly of Hefner and her time in the mansion, she admitted in her 2011 memoir that she didn't love the more intimate duties of being his girlfriend. "I had to be very drunk or smoke lots of weed to survive those nights — there was no way around it," she wrote in Being Kendra: Cribs, Cocktails, and Getting My Sexy Back. "At about the minute mark, I pulled away and it was done. It was like a job. Clock in, clock out. It's not like I enjoyed having sex with him." F Sadouadmedia/Sipa/Shutterstock ![]() The third Girl Next Door star ran into problems when she decided she wanted to return to the mansion after leaving in 2009. “We kind of lost contact, and I tried to go back to the mansion," she told Australia's The Morning Show of Hefner in 2017. "He told me there was always an open door any time I wanted to go back, but I heard that’s not quite true lately. So, I actually called and tried to go to the mansion earlier this year, and I’m just sort of getting the runaround, so I haven’t heard back yet if I’m allowed up there.” In the 2022 docuseries Secrets of Playboy, Marquardt offered support for some of Madison's claims. "Hef would be pretty abrasive in the way he said things to Holly," she claimed. "I could definitely see that she was getting depressed and sad and her demeanor was starting to change." Mediapunch/Shutterstock ![]() The model, who dated Hefner from 2002 to 2004, said the mansion's infamous grotto wasn't the fantasy it seemed like from the outside. "It’s not all it’s cracked up to be,” she said in 2017. “The heydey of the grotto’s glory days was the ’70s. That’s when I think all the swinging or activities took place in the grotto. ... No one was having fun in the grotto when I was there." In her 2006 book, Bunny Tales: Behind Closed Doors at the Playboy Mansion, St. James detailed one of her least favorite parts of living with the magazine mogul: collecting her $1,000 allowance every Friday night. "We had to go to Hef's room, wait while he picked up all the dog poo off the carpet — and then ask for our allowance," she wrote. "We all hated this process. Hef would always use the occasion to bring up anything he wasn't happy about in the relationship." Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() Shannon, who joined The Girls Next Door in 2009 along with her twin sister, Kristina Shannon, claimed that the duo were kicked out of the mansion for dating younger men. "After a couple of weeks, Hef was getting a little bit upset about the boyfriends, so he wanted us to move out," she told The Sun in 2010. "We were not allowed to have boys in the house. That was the absolute No. 1 rule — no boys allowed. That was one of the main reasons we moved out. But living there and being seen out with other guys, Hugh was tripping." BDG/Shutterstock ![]() In 2015, the model, who lived at the mansion on and off for four years, described life there as "like being in prison," adding that residents had to be home by the 9 p.m. curfew and couldn't invite any guests to visit. “You’re definitely not allowed male visitors," she told The Sun. "If you break the rules, you get banned. Once you’re out, you’re out — you can’t come back." She reiterated similar claims in Secrets of Playboy. “I know for a fact the rules [Holly] had to follow,” she explained. “You’re imprisoned in that Playboy [world]. Like, you can’t do your own thing.” Brett Cove/SOPA Images/Shutterstock ![]() Carla's twin sister had similar grievances about her time with Hefner. “If you do something wrong, you’ll get an email," she told The Sun. "There’s a strict code of conduct. There are even rules about Instagram and Twitter. You’ve got to show everything in a good light and if you’re drunk in a picture you’ll be in trouble.” Nils Jorgensen/Shutterstock ![]() In her 2004 book, Upstairs, the former Playmate claimed that Hefner refused to use protection during sexual encounters and didn't offer STD testing for his girlfriends. "No protection and no testing," she wrote. "He doesn’t care.” Dave Allocca/Starpix/Shutterstock ![]() The California native dated Hefner from 1976 to 1981 and was Playboy's Playmate of the Month in July 1977. "Things were done to shush people up, to get them out of the way," she claimed in Secrets of Playboy. "He had tapes on everybody." She also compared the media mogul to Charles Manson. "There were so many similarities with the way the girls followed everything he said, and we were all one big happy family." A&E/YouTube ![]() The former cover model claimed in Secrets of Playboy that Hefner was unusually controlling of his second wife, Kimberley Conrad. "She was not really allowed out of the mansion," Lewis claimed, alleging that Hefner sent a handler to monitor Conrad when she visited Lewis' house for lunch. "So, she arrived with a bodyguard who was constantly on his telephone to Mr. Hefner: 'She's going up the stairs, she's going to the loo.'" Stephen Coke/Shutterstock ![]() In Secrets of Playboy, Garcia, who was a Playmate and head of promotions from 1973 to 1982, alleged that Hefner sent someone to pay her off when she began work on a book about her time with the company. "It was cult-like," she claimed. "The women had been groomed and led to believe they were part of this family. And he really did believe he owned these women. We had Playmates that overdosed. There were Playmates that committed suicide." A&E/YouTube ![]() In the 2022 docuseries Secrets of Playboy, the former Playmate alleged that Hefner drugged and raped her in 1983 while she was living at the mansion. "I woke up with him on top of me," she claimed. "He was naked and my pants were off, my pajama bottoms were off. I thought that I was having a nightmare because it didn't seem possible." Krabacher claimed that she told former Playboy photo editor Marilyn Grabowski about the alleged incident, hoping to get some advice about what to do. "She said, 'Oh, that's all? Don't let it bother you. It's nothing. It's nothing. He won't even remember it,'" Krabacher alleged of their conversation. "And I'm like, 'But I will never forget it.'" Grabowski called Krabacher's recollection of her comments "untrue" in a statement to A&E. Richard Knapp/A&E |
