Royal Rumba! Prince William, Duchess Kate Dance in Belize on Caribbean Tour Posted: 20 Mar 2022 06:54 PM PDT Dancing king and queen — well, one day. Prince William and Duchess Kate continued their royal tour of the Caribbean on Sunday, March 20, and they turned heads as they cut a rug in Hopkins, Belize. After landing on Saturday, March 19, the Duchess of Cambridge, 40, traded in her structured blue Jenny Packham blazer and skirt for a looser Tory Burch dress in a similar shade. The short-sleeve dress looked perfect for staying cool, which was necessary since she and the Duke of Cambridge, 39, worked up a sweat while dancing with the locals. The pair were spending time in Hopkins to experience Garifuna (also called Garinagu) culture in Hopkins. The Afro-indigenous community showed the royal couple a good time, according to videos on social media. Several clips on Twitter show the future King of England shaking his hips, apparently having a blast with his new acquaintances. Duchess Kate seemed to enjoy herself as well. A shorter clip was included on their official Instagram, which showed the Cambridges dancing with their hosts, including many young children in bright green outfits. “It was a privilege to spend time with the Garifuna community and experience some of their traditions, here in Hopkins,” the caption explained. “Thank you Mama G for hosting such a special event!” The video highlighted traditional food and music and showed a brief glimpse of Will and Kate’s interactions with the citizens. A little girl excitedly showed Duchess Kate her doll and William seemed very focused on conversations with community leaders. The royal tour is in honor of Queen Elizabeth II's milestone Platinum Jubilee. The couple are visiting on behalf of the long-reigning monarch, 95, and their visit is intended to highlight a handful of countries in the British Commonwealth. Before heading to Hopkins, the England natives visited a cacao producer to learn more about Belize's world-famous Maya chocolate making. A set of photos on their social media profiles showed them meeting with the chocolatiers. “This is Julio, a master in chocolate making with his family and he's just given us a tour of their cocoa plantation farm here in southern Belize,” the caption of the carousel, shared via Instagram on Sunday, read. “It was an incredible experience to see first hand how this world famous chocolate was made – using all organic products, all grown on their land or nearby. We can see why this is loved all around the world!” William and Kate — who share children Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3 — got off to a rocky start, though. Their first outing at a sustainable cocoa farm in Indian Creek was canceled amid local protests about colonialism. "We can confirm that due to sensitive issues involving the community in Indian Creek, the visit has been moved to a different location," the palace told The Guardian in a statement on Saturday. "Further details will be provided in due course." Scroll down for photos from their time dancing in Belize: ![]() The Duke and Duchess were all smiles in Belize. Trevor Noah Says He Didn't Want to 'Cancel' Kanye West After Grammys Ban Posted: 20 Mar 2022 05:01 PM PDT ![]() UPDATE: Sunday, March 20, 8 p.m. ET — Trevor Noah indicated that he didn’t support the Grammys banning West from performing at the upcoming ceremony. “I said counsel Kanye not cancel Kanye,” he shared via Twitter on Sunday. Original story: Kanye West will not perform at the 2022 Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy has banned the rapper from taking the stage for a song, a source confirms to Us Weekly. The insider says the decision to ban the 44-year-old from the Grammys was based off of his recent Instagram activity, which included slinging racial slurs at Trevor Noah. The Blast was first to report the news. Us has reached out to both West’s representatives and the Recording Academy for comment. The 64th annual Grammy Awards were set for January 31, but the ceremony was delayed amid the COVID-19 pandemic. They were rescheduled for Sunday, April 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Noah, 38, will return as host for the second year in a row. The “Heartless” artist is up for several Grammys. His August 2021 LP, Donda, is nominated for Best Rap Album and Album of the Year. West is also nominated for Album of the Year with Lil Nas X‘s Montero, on which he is credited as a songwriter. Meanwhile, his song “Jail” is up for Best Rap Song, and “Hurricane” is nominated in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category. The Daily Show host and West have had some tense exchanges recently. The “Power” rapper has taken to social media to air his grievances with estrange wife Kim Kardashian amid their divorce, which she filed for in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage. He has claimed that he doesn’t get a fair say in his children’s lives, slammed the KKW Beauty founder, 41, for allowing their daughter North, 8, on TikTok and claimed his children — North, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2 — were being kept away from him. Additionally, he has launched several attacks on Pete Davidson, Kardashian’s new boyfriend. West has included disses in songs, said he would never let the SNL performer meet his children and killed a Claymation effigy of Davidson in the music video for “Eazy.” Noah led a nearly 10-minute segment on West’s treatment of Kardashian in the Tuesday, March 15, episode of The Daily Show. The South Africa native explained that this isn’t just entertaining drama but a reminder to look for the warning signs of an abusive relationship. “It touches on something that is more sensitive and more serious than people would like to admit. I know everyone thinks it’s a big marketing stunt,” Noah said on the Comedy Central show. “Two things can be true: Kim likes publicity. Kim is also being harassed. Those things can be happening at the same time. ‘Cause I’ll be honest with you, what I see from this situation — I see a woman who wants to live her life without being harassed by an ex-boyfriend or an ex-husband or an ex-anything.” The comic continued, “What she’s going through is terrifying to watch, and it shines a spotlight on what so many women go through when they choose to leave.” Noah recalled growing up with an abusive stepfather who eventually shot his mother in the head, which she miraculously survived. The host stated he wasn’t implying that West was capable of doing the same, but he remembers how people ignored his mother’s abuse claims. He’d rather look silly for shining a light on it than ignore what he sees as signs of abuse. “The point is that Kim Kardashian and countless other women, they find themselves in a terrible position, you know? Because asking Kanye to stop clearly isn’t helping,” the Born a Crime author said. He continued, adding, “What we’re seeing though is one of the most powerful, richest women in the world, unable to get her ex to stop texting her, to stop chasing after her, to stop harassing her. Just think about that for a moment. Think about how powerful Kim Kardashian is, and she can’t get that to happen. … If she cannot escape this, then what chance do normal women have?” The “Donda” performer was not happy with the segment. West shared a screenshot of an Internet search for Noah on Wednesday, March 16, via Instagram with caption that used a racial slur several times. West’s words got him banned from Instagram for 24 hours. Prior to his account being pulled, Noah reportedly responded in the comments section. “There are few artists who have had more of an impact on me than you Ye. You took samples and turned them into symphonies,” the lengthy comment read, in part, via TheWrap. “You're an indelible part of my life Ye. Which is why it breaks my heart to see you like this. I don't care if you support Trump and I don't care if you roast Pete. I do however care when I see you on a path that's dangerously close to peril and pain.” He also addressed West’s use of the slur, adding, “Don't ever forget, the biggest trick racists ever played on black people was teaching us to strip each other of our blackness whenever we disagree. Tricking us into dividing ourselves up into splinters so that we would never unite into a powerful rod. |
Celebrity Weddings of 2022: See Which Stars Got Married Posted: 20 Mar 2022 01:40 PM PDT They do! Whether they went with a secret, private wedding ceremony or an all-out extravaganza, these celebrity couples all have one thing in common — they’re married. Bachelor in Paradise star Derek Peth kicked off the new year by tying the knot on January 14. He and British model Saffron Vadher got engaged in November 2020. “Mr. & Mrs. Peth !!! “I love our life together,” Peth commented. Vadher replied to her new husband, “I love you moreeee.” The banker was previously engaged to Taylor Nolan after getting popping the question on BiP season 4. The two split in June 2018. Peth and Vadher went public with their relationship in March 2020. They were isolating together amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and the model shared a number of TikTok videos with him in the months that followed. She even announced their wedding on January 15 with a TikTok video. The clip showed their hands with their rings before the video showed the model grabbing her new husband’s face. “Officially Mrs. Peth!!!” the excited newlywed captioned the clip. Peth wasn’t the only BiP alum to tie the knot in January. One day later, Jordan Kimball, who appeared in the third season of the tropical reality show, married Christina Creedon in a Houston, Texas, ceremony. The couple, who announced their relationship on social media in November 2019, shared photos from their big day on social media. The elementary school teacher wore a long-sleeved gown and Kimball looked happy while filling the champagne tower. The bride and groom’s first dance was to “When You Say Nothing At All” by Alison Krauss. The ceremony included traditional vows, with the pair exchanging letters an hour before they walked down the aisle. "I chuckled, I cried, I smirked," Kimball exclusively told Us Weekly of his now-wife's note. Creedon agreed: "It was so hard not to cry the entire time, just from pure joy." The groom revealed he was overcome with emotion when he saw her walking down the aisle. "Seeing her for the first time — we didn't do a first look — and seeing her in her dress, [I started crying]," the Bachelorette alum told Us, adding that he "for sure" expected to keep his emotions in check. "Ever since that moment, I’ve realized how important she is to me. I mean, to cry in front of lifelong friends and family and everything — I’ve never loved her as much as I do today." The pair had been engaged for more than a year. Kimball proposed on Christmas Eve in 2020 while they were at the church she grew up attending. Her love planned the whole event, making sure cameras were there to document the day and her family was nearby to witness the happy moment. "Even when we were sitting in church [after the proposal], I just randomly started crying, like, pure joy," she told Us exclusively at the time. "I watch [the video] like every 30 minutes." The actress made their relationship Instagram official in May 2020 when she shared a photo of herself holding a pair of scissors while the athlete jokingly looked afraid. You just make it work." He added at the time: "I think that's the goal of it all and the key to it all is just making the time. [Nina’s] super organized and on top of it, so I give it to her. LOL! Miley Cyrus Calls Out ‘F--k Nick Jonas’ Sign During Chile Concert Posted: 20 Mar 2022 01:05 PM PDT ![]() Taking sides? While attending Miley Cyrus' Lollapalooza Chile set, one fan made it crystal clear which side of the Miley Cyrus-Nick Jonas breakup they supported. "'F–k Nick Jonas,'" the "Wrecking Ball" songstress, 29, read during the Saturday, March 19, concert. "I didn't say it! I didn't say it! Just one of the other signs!" Cyrus headlined Lollapalooza Chile 2022 at Parque Bicentenario Cerrillos in Santiago, Chile, on Saturday, singing some of her massive hits. She donned a metallic turquoise jumpsuit, leather boots, gloves and a set of mirrored sunglasses as she read off audience signs, which also included requests for her to sing "Hoedown Throwdown" and punch someone in the face for their 21st birthday (she declined). Though she made it clear that the Jonas sign wasn't her words, it made a great segue into her 2008 single "7 Things." ![]() The Hannah Montana alum notably was linked to the Jonas Brothers crooner, 29, between 2006 and 2007. Amid their whirlwind romance, Jonas and his brothers Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas served as the opening act for her Best of Both Worlds tour in 2007. "We got to be on the Hannah Montana episode on the Disney Channel," Kevin, 34, recalled during the brothers' Chasing Happiness documentary in June 2019. "That changed girls for Nick forever. When he met Miley, I think that kid's head exploded." In the Amazon Prime film, the Scream Queens alum admitted that once he met Cyrus, he "actually knew what it felt like" to be in love and started writing more love songs. The Last Song star — who later married Liam Hemsworth in December 2018 before their August 2019 split — has been equally candid about their young love since their December 2007 split. "Nick and I loved each other," the "We Can't Stop" performer told Seventeen in 2008. "We still do, but we were in love with each other. For two years he was basically my 24/7. But it was really hard to keep it from people. We were arguing a lot, and it really wasn't fun." Following their split, Cyrus made headlines when she seemingly crooned about him in her "7 Things" song, wearing a dog tag like he had in the video. "I was angry when I wrote '7 Things.' I wanted to punish him, to get back at home for hurting me," she wrote in her 2009 Miles to Go memoir. "It starts with a list of what I 'hate.' But I'm not a heart. My heart knew from the start that it was going to be a love story. Why does he get a love song? Because I don't hate him. I won't let myself hate anybody." The twosome have been on much better terms through the years, even keeping up with one another's lives via social media. "I've been following Nick Jonas on Instagram," Cyrus previously said during a Zach Sang Show interview in August 2020. "Have you ever gone and looked and seen that all the sudden that you've been unfollowed or you've unfollowed someone and, like, didn't mean to? … My thing unfollows people sometimes. People hit me up and say, 'Why did you unfollow me?' And I didn't unfollow them. I think, like, a little saboteur, like, goes into my phone and, like, unfollows and follows people for drama." Nick eventually moved on with wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who he married in December 2018. The couple announced that they welcomed a daughter via surrogate in January. Cyrus, for her part, has been getting closer to drummer Maxx Morando. "It's a new relationship. They're still getting to know each other at the moment," a source exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month of the Bolt voice actress and the Lilly musician, 23. "They're having fun and have been spending a lot of time together." |
‘Harry Potter’ Cast’s Dating Histories: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, More Posted: 20 Mar 2022 12:10 PM PDT Whip up a love potion! Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and more Harry Potter stars grew up during the course of the eight-film series, meaning they began dating — and, in some cases, settled down — with the world's eyes on them. Radcliffe was 11 when he started filming the first movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, in 2000. Watson, for her part, was 10, while Grint was the eldest of the trio at 12. Although Watson and Grint's characters, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively, connected on screen, the actress developed feelings for another costar: Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy. "Between the ages of 10 and 12, I had a really terrible crush on Tom Felton," she explained on The Jonathan Ross Show in 2012. "We love a bad guy, and he was a few years older and he had a skateboard, and that just did it really," Watson continued. "He used to do tricks on it. He was so cool. He totally knew [I had a crush]. And the thing is, he'd turn and go, 'Oh, I see her in a younger, sisterly way.' And it just broke my heart, still does." Grint confirmed the bond between the Beauty and the Beast star and Felton in November 2019. "There was always something," he told Entertainment Tonight. "There was a little bit of a spark." The Servant actor added: "We were kids. It was like any kind of playground romance. … I didn't have any sparks. I was spark-free." Despite what could have been an awkward situation for the duo, Felton and Watson remained friends after they wrapped filming on the final movie in the franchise, 2011's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. "Lovely Emma. We do see each other quite a lot actually. We just don't always post pictures about it," the Flash alum exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2018. "Everyone loves the reunion of it. We're reuniting all the time. We just don't always post it on Instagram." Felton even taught Watson some of his skateboarding skills that she admired when they were kids. "She was in my neighborhood and I hadn't seen her for a few months. And I decided to take her for a skateboarding lesson, which she was very good at," he revealed. "She's quite hard on herself. But she's actually very good at it. So yeah, that was fun. I always enjoy spending time with her." Evanna Lynch, meanwhile, shared a behind-the-scenes account of the timeline surrounding Watson and Felton's attraction. "Oh, it was so disappointing for me because I joined on the fifth one. I was on Order of the Phoenix and there was this sense that exciting things had happened in the last movie, and I just missed it," she exclusively told Us in June 2021. "[I joined when] everyone had kind of grown out of their crushes and they were moving on to, like, people in the outside world. And I felt that like, damn, I missed all the drama! It was so fun the last film, according to some stories. But no, by the time I got there, they were all mature and those hormones were calming down." Accio Husband! 'Harry Potter' Alum Bonnie Wright Is Married Posted: 20 Mar 2022 12:02 PM PDT ![]() Accio husband! Bonnie Wright revealed she married boyfriend Andrew Lococo. “Yesterday was the best day of my life Wright stepped into the spotlight at age 11 when she starred in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone as Ginny Weasley, a role she played throughout the eight films. Fellow Hogwarts alum Scarlet Hefner (née Byrne) was among the first to send best wishes to the bride. “Congratulations to you both! @thisisbwright ![]() Previously, the Go Gently author was engaged to Harry Potter costar Jamie Campbell Bower from 2011 to 2012. She was later linked to Glee actor Jacob Artist and entrepreneur Simon Hammerstein. Wright started sharing glimpses of her relationship with Lococo, 38, via Instagram in September 2020. The Greenpeace ambassador revealed in a February YouTube vlog that she and her love had moved in together, and she left Los Angeles to live in San Diego with him. “Andrew and I had been going back and forth between these two cities for a long time, so we were ready to live in the same place,” she told followers. “This is Andrew’s house, which is now our house. He has lived here for 10 years [and] has a beautiful garden. He’s looked after it very well.” The eco-friendly couple compost and garden at their humble abode, which they share with dog Billy and cats Frank and Hugo. “One person who is so happy about being here is Billy,” the environmental activist revealed in her vlog about moving to San Diego. “He is obsessed with Andrew, and every time he comes home from work, he’s still, like, as excited to greet him as though he hasn’t seen him in months and years. So, he can’t quite believe his luck that he gets to be by his two favorite people.” While Wright’s love story with her husband is largely kept private, fans know all about her character Ginny’s romantic arc with Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe). The actress, who appeared in January’s Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special on HBO Max, told Us Weekly exclusively that she wishes there could’ve been more time to let that relationship blossom on screen. "In terms of what was left out, I mean, I think everyone would have loved every part of their character in the book in the film," the London native told Us of the film franchise in November. "But I think for me, what I would have loved is just kind of the nuances of the relationship building. I think just having a bit more of that onscreen, I think to see the kind of chemistry and our dynamic develop, I think would have been really helpful and key to their sort of love story and why they end up together.” |
Getting 'Wild'! Pete Davidson Hangs Out With Scott Disick Amid Kim K. Romance Posted: 20 Mar 2022 12:02 PM PDT ![]() Boys' night in! As Pete Davidson's romance with Kim Kardashian has continued heating up, he spent the evening getting to know some of her famous family members. "Boyz night was wild While Saturday night was just for the boys, Davidson's girlfriend was out of town, celebrating the Skims Swim launch with her sister Khloé Kardashian. ![]() "We've hit the beach!! Our @skims swim pop-up is now open in the Miami Design District," the KKW Beauty mogul, 41, wrote via Instagram Story on Saturday. The Selfish author was first linked to the comedian in October 2021 after she hosted SNL earlier that month, where they shared a brief stage kiss. The pair's romance continued developing as she visited his native Staten Island and he spent more time in California. They later made their Instagram debut as a couple on March 12. "I have the cutest pictures of us and I want to be like, 'Oh, we're so cute!’" Kim gushed during a Wednesday, March 16, appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, noting her beau got several tattoos and a branding in her honor. "I don't know what the right thing to do is. I haven't dated since before Instagram existed. I don't know what the rules are [when it comes to posting a new relationship]." The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum — who shares children North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2, with Kanye West, whom she filed for divorce from in February 2021 — is set to open up about the pair's budding connection on her family's forthcoming series, The Kardashians. "I have not filmed with [Pete]," she told Variety in a March 9 profile, promoting the show's April premiere. "And I'm not opposed to it. It's just not what he does. But if there was an event happening and he was there, he wouldn't tell the cameras to get away. I think I might film something really exciting coming, but it wouldn't be for this season." While the King of Staten Island star has yet to film any scenes for the reality TV series, his blossoming romance with Kim has already been highlighted in the trailer. In one scene, matriarch Kris Jenner proclaims that their connection was one that no one “saw coming." Many of Kim's family members have been supportive of her connection with Davidson, including the 39-year-old Talentless founder. "The town," Disick — who shares children Mason, 12, Penelope, 9, and Reign, 7, with Kim's sister Kourtney Kardashian — commented on the Dancing With the Stars alum's first photos with her beau in honor of her The Town-inspired caption. (Kim initially wrote "Whose car we gonna take?!" alongside the couple snaps in honor of Ben Affleck's dialogue.) |
A Complete Timeline of Laurie Hernandez and Charlotte Drury’s Relationship Posted: 20 Mar 2022 11:00 AM PDT A winning pair! Olympians Laurie Hernandez and Charlotte Drury have won plenty of medals — and they’ve also won each other’s heart. Hernandez and Drury, who have both been members of the U.S. National Gymnastics team and competed at the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, respectively, quietly began dating in December 2020. Though they’ve dropped hints about their relationship status on social media, the duo didn’t confirm their romance until the following year, as they celebrated their first anniversary. “Cheesin! Happy year!!!!!!!!!!” Hernandez wrote via Instagram in December 2021, sharing a photo of Drury kissing her on the cheek. The New Jersey native was part of the iconic Final Five gymnastics team at the Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she won a silver medal on the balance beam and a gold medal as part of the team event. “I didn’t realize [how passionate I was about gymnastics] until after Rio,” Hernandez told NBC News in October 2020, before reflecting on how her parents have supported her throughout her career. “We had all sat down away from cameras and talked about it. And they were like, ‘We really questioned if we were being good parents by letting you stay in it because you’re getting hurt over and over again,’ which is part of the sport,” she continued. “But after getting surgery in 2014, they saw how determined I was and they were like, ‘OK, we can’t pull that away from her.'” Drury is also passionate about gymnastics and almost competed alongside Hernandez at the 2016 Olympics but was forced to pull out after suffering a foot injury. The California native — who has been a member of the USA National Trampoline and Tumbling National Team since 2011 — got a second chance at Olympic glory in 2021 and attended the Tokyo Games as an alternate. In addition to gymnastics, Drury is also an advocate for Type 1 Diabetes, having been diagnosed ahead of Olympic trials. “A month before the first Olympic trial of 2021 I knew something was wrong. I spent the last year, busting my ass, and pushing through the hardest trainings of my life to show up at national team camp in March and watch the other girls out jump me by miles,” she wrote via Instagram in July 2021. “[The diagnosis] felt insurmountable and terrifying and there was just no way I could figure out how to manage a life changing diagnosis and get into Olympic shape in time for the first trial in 3 weeks.” However, with the help of her coach, family and loved ones, Drury was able to manage her condition and earned a spot on the Olympic team. “Words can't describe how hard this year has been … but through all the adversity I'm most proud of myself for not giving up. I found out that I'm tougher than I think I am,” she added. Hernandez has supported Drury both on the mat and with her advocacy work. “[I’m] so, so proud,” the former wrote in July 2021 in the comments of one of Drury’s Instagram posts. Not Looking Back! HSMTMTS’ Joshua Bassett Calls Coming Out ‘Liberating’ Posted: 20 Mar 2022 10:20 AM PDT Sharing with pride! Celebrities like Raven-Symoné, Dan Levy and more have become important figures within the LGBTQ community as they've championed equality both on and offscreen. The That's So Raven alum's personal life became the subject of headlines in August 2013 when she tweeted her reaction to the legalization of same-sex marriage. "I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you," she wrote at the time. Three years later, she spoke about her journey to self-acceptance and admitted that she "never thought" she would publicly come out. "Being on television sets from age 3 till age 30, I'm more comfortable there," she said in a May 2016 video for the Lexus L/Studio docuseries It Got Better. "I know what lines I'm supposed to say. Somebody else picks my clothes for me. I have makeup done. I have hair done. And you create a family with these people that sometimes are closer to you than your own family." The Disney alum felt like she couldn't be honest about her sexuality because she had been "branded at such a young age" to fit the network's image. "I never thought I would come out because my personal life didn't matter," she said at the time. "It was only what was supposed to be sold as the Raven-Symoné brand." Though she'd known she was attracted to women from a young age, the former The View cohost took her time when approaching her sexuality in public. Levy, for his part, came out to his parents when he was 18 — but once feared that he would always have to hide his identity from the rest of the world. "I legitimately thought that I would have to live with this secret — my being gay — for the rest of my life because I didn't have the security of seeing a lot of people like myself being celebrated in popular culture," the Schitt's Creek creator and star said in September 2019 at the GLAAD Gala in San Francisco. "Had I not had the love to give me a sense of security, I don't know if I would have found my way out of the closet, let alone create the opportunity for myself to tell stories on television that have effected some kind of positive change in the world." For more hot celebrity news, listen to Us Weekly editors dish on top topics & trends with these clips from the Hot Hollywood Podcast! The Emmy winner portrayed queer romance with positivity across the six seasons of Pop TV's Schitt's Creek, which came to an end in early 2020. Though the Rose family is no more, Levy vowed to keep telling honest stories for his communities. "Support, encouragement and love: three relatively simple acts of kindness that can change the course of a person's life," he said at the time. "I promise to continue to do my part in celebrating this radiant community in all the work that I do, big and small." "Since I have not publicly said this in a post, I wanted say that I am Bisexual 😊 When I was younger I thought I was straight, because I was more attracted to women, and I didn’t know there were more options besides Gay and Straight," the singer-songwriter explained. "So I just assumed I was Straight 🤷🏼♂️ I am privileged and have never been discriminated against for my sexuality or ashamed of it. I’m truly sorry for any of you who have been, and I hope it gets better 💙 I’ll probably lose some fans over this post, but that’s fine with me." David Richard/AP/Shutterstock ![]() The Bravo host recalled coming out to his mom during a November 2021 appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. "Great quote from my mom when I came out to her,” Cohen explained while discussing her notable lines in his Glitter Every Day: 365 Quotes From Women I Love book. “Her response was, 'I probably would have hated your wife anyway.' And you know what, she probably would have!” Scott Kowalchyk/CBS ![]() The Designated Survivor alum opened up about his sexuality his November 2021 book, You Can't Be Serious. Penn revealed he has been in a relationship with his partner, Josh, for 11 years, and they are engaged. "I mean, you know, Josh and I've been together for 11 years," Penn told CBS' Sunday Morning in October 2021 while promoting his memoir. "We had our 11th anniversary in October. So, for me and writing about it, I think the tricky thing was, you're right, it's very matter-of-fact in our lives, and when you're the son of Indian immigrants who says that you want to be an actor, the chaos that that creates in your family and your community, will trump anything else, always." MediaPunch/Shutterstock ![]() During an October 2021 episode of Teen Mom OG, Amber revealed that writing her second memoir inspired her to come out as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. "People are going to be a bit shocked that I am bisexual," the reality star told producers at the time. "That I have had a relationship with a woman for 8 months before." Even though the 16 and Pregnant alum wasn't sure that everyone in her life would be open to her news, she explained that she was coming out because of her children. "[They] are a really big factor of why," Amber — who shares daughter Leah with ex Gary Shirley and son James with ex Andrew Glennon — said at the time. "I don't want them to ever think it's bad. I don't want them to look at other people who are like this and think it's bad. Who am I to sit here and hide forever? Which is actually what I was planning on doing anyways. I was going to go to the grave with this." AMI/MEGA ![]() The Mistress of the Dark, a.k.a. Cassandra Peterson, publicly came out in her 2021 memoir, reflecting on being friends with her longtime girlfriend, Teresa Wierson, for six years before things turned romantic. "After coming home from a movie, I told her goodnight and suddenly felt compelled to kiss her — on the mouth. As shocked as she was, I think I was even more surprised. What the hell was I doing?" Elvira wrote in Yours Cruelly, Elvira: Memoirs of the Mistress of the Dark. "I'd never been interested in women as anything other than friends. I felt so confused." Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() The Never Have I Ever star reflected on her own coming out journey, months after her Netflix character did the same. Her character, Fabiola, identifies as a lesbian while Rodriguez came out as queer in October 2020. “It is ultimately my choice to share,” she wrote in a Cosmopolitan essay published in August 2021. “I could have kept it to myself, and I would have been just fine. But I feel like people were assuming based on my past dating history, which I didn’t appreciate. I asked, ‘Why are people assuming my sexuality?’ I kind of felt pressured, in a way, to share that part of me. I knew it was going to be a thing when taking on the role of Fabiola and I was prepared for that because it’s not okay for straight actors to take queer roles. I personally would not have taken the role if I wasn’t.” She added, “When people kept asking me [about her identity], I felt like maybe I didn’t look like a queer person. But you shouldn’t have to explain your queerness. You don't owe anyone an explanation for your queerness or proof that you're a valid queer person.” MediaPunch/Shutterstock ![]() During a September 2021 podcast with Demi Lovato, Hampshire revealed that people began asking if she was gay after she began dating Teddy Geiger, who had come out as transgender in 2017. "I said to [my Schitt's Creek costar] Dan [Levy], 'This is so weird. What am I?' Because I truly just fell in love with a person, and where they were on the gender spectrum did not matter to me. And since then, it really doesn’t matter to me. I have to like the person. I'm really attracted to a person's vibe," she shared. Levy then recalled the fan-favorite scene in which David and Stevie talk about their broader tastes in wine. "He was like, 'You're pansexual. Don't you watch our show?'" Shutterstock ![]() The RuPaul’s Drag Race alum came out as trans-nonbinary in August 2021. "Almost eight months ago, in January, right at the beginning of the year, I decided to begin the process of hormone replacement therapy,” the model said in an Instagram video. “Which is the process of taking estrogen and testosterone blockers, differing on the person, as a means of bringing in the woman and pushing out the man.” The reality star then confirmed that she identifies as "a trans-nonbinary person" who uses she/her pronouns. She also revealed that she’s in the process of legally changing her name to Gigi. "I knew when I started, I wanted this to be a journey I was going on by myself, on my own, without any input from the outside world," Goode concluded, insisting she kept her story private until she had time to process everything on her own. "The only people that really knew that I was going through this were me and my mom and my close friends living across the street, which is exactly the way that I wanted it, up until this point." Lev Radin/Pacific Press/Shutterstock ![]() The Good Girls actress came out as pansexual in August 2021. “I know ppl might be unfamiliar with what pansexual means; for me it means I know I can fall in love with people of all genders,” she tweeted. “This is the word that fits me best and I’m proud+happy to be part of the Bi+ community :,).” Broadimage/Shutterstock ![]() The Crown star publicly came out as queer in August 2021, after previously posting photos wearing a chest binder. At the time, the England native shared an ITV News interview clip about their sexuality via Instagram, captioning it, “First time addressing my queerness and my journey on TV was scary! But visibility is key!” In the video, the Golden Globes winner said, "My journey has been a long one and has still got a long way to go. I think we are so used to defining ourselves. That's the way society works within these binaries and it's taken me a long time to realize that I exist somewhere in between and I'm still not sure where that is yet." Magnus Sundholm/Shutterstock ![]() The Below Deck Mediterranean star came out as sexually fluid to his coworkers in an August 2021 episode of the Bravo show. "I was absolutely not planning on opening up about that whatsoever. It was purely an in-the-moment thing, the level of comfort and security I felt around [my team], and the topics of conversation that had previously been discussed that evening was certainly a big factor in that," the reality star told E! News about deciding to share his truth on television. In the episode, the deckhand labeled himself as "90 percent straight," which he noted wasn't actually right. "Yeah the 90 percent straight thing was my realization that I said it on television and kind of trying to stop it from spiraling to a full confessional of my entire life, but if I were to put it in a statement of such, I completely believe in like a fluid spectrum and as any part of my life, I might move on that spectrum up or down," he added at the time. Laurent Basset/Bravo ![]() The 13 Reasons Why star publicly disclosed her transgender identity during a conversation with Time magazine in July 2021, noting that she'd been "privately identifying and living as a woman" for an entire year. "It's funny to think about coming out because I haven't gone anywhere," she said, calling her transition a "liberating and clarifying" experience. "I view today as a reintroduction to me as a woman, having made a transition medically. Coming out is always viewed as this grand reveal, but I was never not out. Today is about clarity: I am a trans woman. My pronouns are she/her. My name is Tommy. ... Personally, it's wild to be 29 and going through puberty again. Some days I feel like I'm 14." Courtesy of Tommy Dorfman/Instagram ![]() Family Karma star Amrit Kapai recalled the emotional moment he first came out to his grandmother on television during an interview with Entertainment Tonight in July 2021. “I'm not going to lie to you, I was very overwhelmed when I was re-watching it and re-experiencing it all over again. But I thought the final product was so tasteful," Kapai said in the interview. "I mean, with a moment like that, there isn't any editing that's necessary because the words, the conversation, the expressions, everything speaks for itself and everything speaks volumes. Putting aside that, it was a little bit of a somber moment, and there were some happy, there were some sad, but overall, I was very satisfied with how the finished product came out.” The reality star added that the Bravo series aired about “90 percent” of the conversation as it happened. “There was no sugarcoating any of it,” he continued. “There was no beating around the bush. That's how I remember it. I know I said I blacked it out, not because I was under the influence, but because it's one of those moments in life where you just... It's a very intense moment, and we block those out of our memory for better or for worse. It was a lot to re-watch over again and experience it all over again.” Tommy Garcia/Bravo ![]() The Teen Wolf star revealed how his girlfriend, musician Phem, helped him embrace his sexuality. “[Phem] helped me realize that I fit under the queer umbrella and that I’m sexually fluid, I guess,” Posey told NME magazine in July 2021. “No, not ‘I guess,’ I don’t want anyone to take this [interview] and be like: ‘Well, he was kind of wishy-washy about it.'” Matt Baron/Shutterstock ![]() After being asked by a fan during an Instagram Live if he identified as gay, the Shazam actor responded, “I’m bi.” Rob Latour/Shutterstock ![]() "I just wanted to take a quick moment to say that I'm gay. Nassib, who is the first active NFL player to be publicly out, shared that he would also be donating $100,000 to The Trevor Project in an attempt to help raise awareness. "I just think that representation and visibility are so important," the Las Vegas Raiders defense end continued. "I actually hope that one day videos like this and the whole coming out process are just not necessary. But until then, I'm going to do my best and do my part to cultivate a culture that's accepting, that's compassionate." Uncredited/AP/Shutterstock ![]() American Idol season 7 runner-up revealed in June 2021 that he hadn’t figured out a label, but he knows he is part of the LGBTQ community. "I’ve been open to myself and my close family for some years now that I am not sure about my own sexuality," Archuleta wrote via Instagram. "I came out in 2014 as gay to my family. But then I had similar feelings for both genders so maybe a spectrum of bisexual. Then I also have learned I don’t have too much sexual desires and urges as most people 💀which works I guess because I have a commitment to save myself until marriage 🤣. Which people call asexual when they don’t experience sexual urges." The devout Mormon also called on his fellow Christians to be more accepting of those who aren’t heteronormative and shared a message of encouragement for LGBTQ Christians who are struggling. “I don’t feel comfortable sharing it, but felt I needed to bring more awareness to people in my same situation and let you know you’re not alone. Celibate Celebs: Stars Who Have Been Open About Abstaining From Sex Posted: 20 Mar 2022 10:00 AM PDT Over the years, many celebrities have opened up about their personal choice to abstain from sex, whether it’s for a few months or until marriage. In October 2021, Nick Cannon made headlines when he announced his decision to stay celibate after welcoming his seventh child earlier that year. "I'm going to see if I could make it to 2022,” the Wild 'N Out host said during a "Drinks Champs" interview at the time. The MTV personality previously welcomed twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey in 2011. One year after the pair finalized their divorce in 2016, Cannon welcomed son Golden with Brittany Bell. In December 2020, Bell gave birth to their daughter Powerful Queen. In June 2021, Abby De La Rosa gave birth to twins Zion and Zillion with the Masked Singer host. The California native also welcomed son Zen with Alyssa Scott that same month. Tragically, the infant died from a brain tumor in December 2021. The rapper later told Extra that he was "trying to be responsible" by abstaining from sex, saying, "I’m trying to lead by example because I am a father of many. I gotta show self-preservation, self-control, discipline. It’s those aspects. I’ve done it before. I think the longest I’ve ever gone is probably a year and a half. I was in church every day!" In January 2022, Cannon confirmed that he was expecting a child with Bre Tiesi. He admitted that he "didn't know what to do" when he realized that he was going to be a father of eight. "I felt like I was out of control and honestly, celibacy did help me through the journey of getting one with myself and being able to deal with this," he explained on The Nick Cannon Show that same month, adding that he was no longer committed to the vow. Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have also been candid about briefly taking a break from sexual activity. "Oh, my God, it was crazy," the reality star told Bustle in March 2022 about the couple’s past sex fast. "But it actually made everything better." Inside Demi Moore and Bruce Willis' Amicable Post-Split Relationship Posted: 20 Mar 2022 09:45 AM PDT Keeping it cordial! Demi Moore and Bruce Willis have managed to stay close after ending their marriage in 2000 — and their friendly relationship is the definition of coparenting goals. The Die Hard star and Moore tied the knot in 1987 after meeting at the premiere for the buddy cop film Stakeout, which starred Moore’s then-fiancé Emilio Estevez. The Ghost star was previously married to singer Freddy Moore from 1981 to 1985. After their wedding, Willis and Demi welcomed three daughters: Rumer in 1988, Scout in 1991, and Tallulah in 1994. The former couple announced their separation in June 1998 and filed for divorce two years later. When they submitted their paperwork in October 2000, their divorce was finalized the same day. Later that year, Willis admitted that he didn’t know exactly what went wrong in their marriage. “I still love Demi. We’re very close,” the Unbreakable actor explained to Rolling Stone. “We have three children whom we will continue to raise together, and we're probably as close now as we ever were. 'All Good'! Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney Hang Out After Separation Posted: 20 Mar 2022 08:37 AM PDT Staying friendly! Amid Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney's divorce, the pair have stayed on good terms. Schwartz, 39, shared a snap of his estranged wife, 35, via Instagram Story on Saturday, March 19, days after confirming their separation. In the pic, the Utah native donned a pair of sunglasses as she sipped on a cocktail with her Vanderpump Rules costar. Maloney, for her part, reshared the photo onto her Story, captioning it, "Its [sic] all good." ![]() The Bravo stars — who tied the knot in 2016 — announced their split on Tuesday, March 15, after five years of marriage and more than 12 years together. "I never thought I would have to make an announcement like this. But I feel it's important that I'm open about my life with you," Maloney wrote via Instagram at the time. "After 12 years on an adventure through our life together, Tom and I are ending our marriage. This ending is not met with resentment or animosity, no sides to choose. We have deep admiration for one another that will always remain and cherish our friendship." The TomTom cofounder shared his own statement on Tuesday, calling the process difficult. "Well this sucks," Schwartz wrote in his social media upload. "I'm not the victim. Not gonna write too sad a song. Fully respect Katie's decision and we've had healthy, productive conversations about it. It would be far sadder if she decided to stay with me whilst not happy." The twosome began dating before the 2013 premiere of Vanderpump Rules, getting engaged in 2015. Bravo fans saw their relationship ups and downs play out throughout the show's tenure. "They tried for a long time to make it work but the truth is they've been struggling as a couple these past few months," a source exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this week, noting that they "got into a lot of arguments." Maloney has been candid about realizing it was time to go their separate ways since the pair's breakup made headlines. "I realized that I had to really start prioritizing myself and my happiness as well. It just needed to happen," the "You're Going to Love Me" podcast host said on the Friday, March 18, episode, noting that they still live together after splitting last month. "That's just what everything inside of me was saying, I thought it got to a point where I just felt like I was going to burst. For months, it was building up. I felt just disconnected. I felt like I was drifting further and further away." She continued: "The transition so far is going really well. We're just trying to navigate these steps together and really work on becoming friends in that sense. … I feel very strongly that I'm doing the right thing. But it doesn't make it easier. It's really hard not to think about all of the best times and your wedding and everything that's going on. But when everything else inside of you, the burning inside of you, is telling you that you deserve more, then you have to listen to that." The former model has also been reflective while trying to process his new normal. "Of course I'm sad, but, you know, we still love each other very much," Schwartz told photographers on Wednesday, March 16. "I wish I had a scapegoat, but that's all on me. … It's complicated, obviously. But nothing in particular. You know, life, you know. It's complicated." |
Caribbean Trip! Prince William and Duchess Kate Arrive in Belize Posted: 20 Mar 2022 07:50 AM PDT Back to work! In honor of Queen Elizabeth II's milestone Platinum Jubilee, Prince William and Duchess Kate embarked on a Caribbean tour to experience other countries in the British Commonwealth. "Arriving in Belize, the first stop of our Caribbean tour! The married couple — who wed in 2011 — stepped off their private plane where they were treated to a military welcome. Kate, for her part, wore a blue Jenny Packham blazer and skirt with matching heels. William sported a coordinating blue suit as they stepped off the tarmac. The blue hues were nods to the country's royal color. The pair's arrival in Belize marks their first destination on their Caribbean tour, which also includes visits to Jamaica and the Bahamas. After their warm welcome on Saturday, the twosome have a packed scheduled to see the sights on Sunday, March 20. After visiting a cacao producer to learn more about the country's famed Maya chocolate making, they will spend time with the Garifuna culture in Hopkins, per an Instagram Story post via their official account. They will also learn about Belize's marine conservation efforts. "Throughout the tour, The Duke and Duchess will meet a wide variety of people from each country, including children, young people and families, frontline workers, service personnel, leaders from government, business and the charity sector as well as inspiring conservationists, and the early years workforce," a Sunday post on the royal family's official Instagram account read. "Their [program] will also touch on a number of themes that are close to Their Royal Highnesses' hearts and a key focus of their work with The Royal Foundation, including The Earthshot Prize, mental health and the importance of early childhood to lifelong outcomes." The couple — who share children Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3 — are visiting the Caribbean countries on behalf of the long-reigning monarch, 95, to celebrate her 70th year on the throne. The visit marks their first joint overseas appearance since the start of the coronavirus pandemic two years earlier. William and Kate's arrival in Belize comes on the heels of controversy after they had to rearrange their plans amid colonialism protests. Their first outing at a sustainable cocoa farm in Indian Creek was scrapped amid local protests about indigenous rights. "We can confirm that due to sensitive issues involving the community in Indian Creek, the visit has been moved to a different location," the palace told The Guardian in a statement earlier on Saturday. "Further details will be provided in due course." Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinart, Camila Mendes and Vanessa Morgan are among the Riverdale stars whose offscreen relationships have made headlines over the years. Reinhart and Sprouse won over fans as lovebirds Betty and Jughead on the CW drama, which premiered in January 2017. So viewers were ecstatic to discover the duo were a real-life couple when they were first linked in July 2017. After dating on and off for more than two years, the costars called it quits in 2020. All I'll say about it, anything else you hear doesn't matter." As for the Chemical Hearts star, she revealed that she felt like she was "dying" during the aftermath of the split. "It was f—king rough, and there's no other way through it than just through it," she told Refinery29 that same month. "I've seen a lot of people when it comes to heartache and grief and breakups, and they try to get that void filled with sex, with coke, with food, with drinking, [but] the void is still there. I took the road less traveled and just dealt with my s—t. I had to face my own pain head-on." Sprouse and Reinhart were not the only Riverdale stars to pair up off screen. Mendes also dated Charles Melton from 2018 to 2019. "I write letters to my girlfriend," the Sun Is Also a Star actor exclusively told Us Weekly in 2019.
