HoYeon Jung Reveals 'Squid Game' Scene That Broke Her Heart

HoYeon Jung got candid in a recent interview and revealed how she really felt about an important scene in Squid Game.

The 27-year-old actress shot to international stardom after her portrayal of Kang Sae-byeok, also known as player 067.

She had several memorable moments in the series but there was one in particular that broke her heart and made her sob.

Squid Game has become Netflix's most watched series, drawing over 111 million viewers after just 17 days.

The show revolves around a brutal contest, where 456 players who are deep in debt are forced to play children's games to survive and win a huge pot of money.

HoYeon's role is a North Korean defector who plays the games in the hopes of winning the money for her family. HoYeon easily captivated the audience with her performance and good looks.

The Scene That Made HoYeon Sob

In an interview with TIME, HoYeon said that she got really emotional when she learned about this one scene. She shared that she was sobbing while reading the script.

The scene she is referring to is the heartbreaking moment when Sae-byeok had to go against her newfound friend Ji-yeong.

"The scene that made me cry was when Ji-yeong and Sae-byeok were talking to each other," HoYeon started.

"I felt that the lines themselves were very well written by the director, and I saw this interview where he said that he envisioned this scene to be one with two people who are the most innocent out of all the contestants."

"When I Read The Script, I Was Sobbing"

HoYeon continued by saying she was excited to meet actress Yoo-mi Lee and felt an instant connection with her.

"When I read the script, I was sobbing. It was one of the big excitements for me to meet Ji-yeong in person – because at that time, I had to imagine Ji-yeong from the script, but when I met [Lee] at the table reading, I just felt that she's the one."

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk said that he was confident that the two actresses would be able to portray their characters well.

From Model To International Star

Thanks to the success of Squid Game, HoYeon catapulted to international stardom, turning from a model to a superstar with an Instagram following of over 22 million.

She has recently graced the cover of Vogue Korea and has been announced as the latest global ambassador of Louis Vuitton.

HoYeon's return for season 2 of the series is unclear, given her ending, but fans are hoping she makes an appearance again.

Seth Curry Rejects Shooting Comparison To Brother Steph

Veteran shooting guard Seth Curry has been one of the biggest revelations in the Philadelphia 76ers' roster. From the time he arrived in the City of Brotherly Love in the summer of 2020, Curry immediately made his presence felt, making the Sixers decide to give him a permanent spot in the starting lineup.

Seth may not be as good as his brother, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, but some fans couldn't help themselves but compare one of the most popular siblings in the league.

Seth Curry Hot Against Thunder

In the Sixers' 115-103 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder last Sunday, Curry had another explosive performance on the court. In 34 minutes of action, the 31-year-old shooting guard finished with 28 points, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal while shooting 60.0 percent from the field and 70 percent from beyond the arc, per ESPN.

The younger Curry got hot early in the first quarter where he shot 8-of-10 from the field and hit six of his seven three-point attempts.

Denies 'Steph-Type Streak'

With how explosive he was at the three-point range in their game against the Thunder, some people found similarities in Seth's shooting performance with his brother Steph. However, Seth strongly denied that he had a "Steph-type streak" in the Sixers' recent victory in Oklahoma City.

"I was getting good shots," Seth Curry said, as quoted by ESPN. "It wasn't like I was 18 dribbles, half-court, 40-footers. It wasn't like I was like on a Steph-type streak. I was finding good shots."

Seth Curry Helped Sixers Take Control

Despite Curry's hot start, the Sixers' victory against the Thunder wasn't easy. Late in the fourth quarter, the Thunder managed to close the gap to at least eight points. Luckily, Curry hit another three-pointer to give the Sixers full control of the game.

"They were on a big run," Curry said. "It got kind of loud in there for a second. ... we needed to kind of stop the run. Once we broke the press, Tobias (Harris) found me in the corner and I just took my time, set my feet and shot it like any other shot."

Seth Needs To Be More Like Steph

As much as he hates to be compared to his brother, Seth would be needing to be more like Steph on the offensive end to keep the Sixers in the winning column in the 2021-22 NBA season. Though he has shown a massive improvement in his game since he joined the Sixers, Curry should be more consistent with his performance every game, especially now that the team is still playing this season without their second-best player, Ben Simmons.

The Sixers' next game will be against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Center Philadelphia.

These Two Personality Traits Are 'Risk Factors' For Alzheimer's

Two common personality traits have been linked to a greater risk of developing Alzheimer's disease and other related dementias, according to a new study.

The research, published last month in the journal Biological Psychiatry, established a correlation between these particular traits and the changes that occur in the brain at a molecular level with the onset of dementia, specifically the buildup of amyloid plaques and tau tangles.

Tau creates tangles within a brain cell, while amyloid creates plaques around the cell, explains The New York Post.

The new findings add to the already existing body of evidence that personality can influence the neuropathology of Alzheimer's.

Big Five Personality Traits

Since all of us hold dozen of personality traits that make us unique, the study authors turned their attention to five general traits that are familiar among mental health experts. Commonly known in scientific literature as the Big Five, these are conscientiousness, agreeableness, neuroticism, openness, and extraversion (or extroversion).

Let's examine each individually.

Conscientiousness describes people who are responsible, careful, and goal- and detail-oriented. They have high impulse control and tend to be organized.

Agreeableness is a trait describing people who are respectful, compassionate, trusting and try to avoid problems. Such people tend to be more cooperative and are helpful.

Neuroticism describes someone who gravitates toward unsettling emotions, such as anxiety and depression. Neurotic people get upset easily.

Openness is the trait associated with people who are open to new experiences and curious about the world. They are creative and happy to talk about abstract ideas.

Extraversion describes someone who seeks excitement and is active and highly sociable. Extroverts are talkative, have a lot of emotional expressiveness, and are energized around others.

Neuroticism And Alzheimer's

Of the five personality traits, neuroticism and conscientiousness were the two found to have a profound impact on Alzheimer's neuropathology. The research showed that neuroticism increases the likelihood of developing amyloid plaques and tau tangles, whereas conscientiousness reduces it.

"We have done studies showing who's at risk of developing dementia, but those other studies were looking at the clinical diagnosis. Here, we are looking at the neuropathology; that is, the lesions in the brain that tell us about the underlying pathological change," explained study lead author Dr. Antonio Terracciano, who is a professor in the Department of Geriatrics at Florida State University.

According to Terracciano, these pathological changes in the brain that signal the onset of Alzheimer's are not connected to a specific level of neuroticism and conscientiousness. In other words, being more neurotic won't exponentially increase the risk of dementia, just like being more conscientious won't exponentially decrease it.

"These associations seem to be linear without a threshold […] and there is no specific level that triggers resistance or susceptibility," he pointed out.

Two Methods Of Investigation

To reach their conclusions, Terracciano's team followed two avenues of investigation. One method was to analyze data from the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging (BLSA), which enrolled over 3,000 people. The participants completed an extensive personality quiz to identify their Big Five traits then, one year later, underwent PET scans to see if any amyloid plaques and tau proteins had formed in their brains.

The second method was to review 12 existing studies that investigated the link between personality traits and the pathology of Alzheimer's. Both methods led to the same result, as the meta-analysis backed up the findings of the BLSA study.

Also of note, the correlation between personality and the risk of Alzheimer's was "strongest in people who were cognitively normal" at the time of either study, Medical News Today is reporting. This suggests that personality type may be a risk factor before the tangles and plaques have a chance to form in the brain.

"Research has looked at other personality traits, such as openness and extraversion, in relationship with dementia, but neuroticism and conscientiousness have the strongest link, according to recent meta-analyses," Dr. Claire Sexton, director of scientific programs and outreach at Alzheimer's Association, who was not involved in the study, told the outlet.

How Does Personality Raise The Risk Of Alzheimer's?

As Dr. Terracciano explained, "there are aspects of neuroticism and conscientiousness that might directly impact the risk of dementia."

"Traits like neuroticism shape our emotional life, the way we cope with stress and deal with our feelings. Conscientiousness is defined by our level of grit, persistence, and planful attitudes," he detailed.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sexton argues that lifestyle and behaviors that trigger inflammation might be responsible for an elevated risk of Alzheimer's.

"For example, highly conscientious individuals have been shown to have healthier lifestyles — in terms of physical activity, smoking, sleep, depression, cognitive stimulation, etc. — than those with lower conscientiousness," she said. "There is a solid body of research connecting lifestyle, dementia risk, and biomarkers."

NBA Rumors: GSW's Andrew Wiggins & James Wiseman For Pacers' Myles Turner & Caris LeVert

Since the 2021 NBA offseason, rumors have been continuously swirling around Andrew Wiggins and his future with the Golden State Warriors. To increase their chances of fully dominating the Western Conference and winning the NBA championship title in the 2021-22 NBA season, most people believe that the Warriors would use Wiggins as a trade chip to improve their roster around Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.

In the past months, Wiggins has already been linked to teams that are expected to be active on the market before the 2022 NBA trade deadline.

Andrew Wiggins To Indiana Pacers

One of the potential trade destinations for Wiggins is the Indiana Pacers. In a recent article, Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report created a list of trades that NBA fans "should already be dreaming about." These include a hypothetical deal that would send Wiggins to the Pacers.

In the proposed trade scenario, the Warriors would be sending a package that includes Wiggins and James Wiseman to the Pacers in exchange for Myles Turner and Caris LeVert. If the trade would push through this season, Buckley believes it would help both the Warriors and the Pacers in filling up the needs to improve on their roster.

Centerpieces Of Pacers' Rebuild

The proposed blockbuster trade would be worth exploring for the Pacers if they finally decide to undergo a rebuilding process. Wiggins, 26, and Wiseman, 20, could become the centerpieces of the next title-contending team that the Pacers would try to build in Indiana.

"They need more blue-chip talent, and James Wiseman would give them exactly that," Buckley wrote. "He's as raw as homegrown produce, but he has physical tools few can match and flashes of skills that shouldn't be possible at his size. Indiana could turn to Andrew Wiggins for perimeter defense and support scoring, and the club might feel more comfortable investing in him than LeVert since the latter is older and has a lengthy injury history."

Myles Turner Upgrades Warriors

Trading Wiseman, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, would be a tough decision for the Warriors, but it's the type of move that they should be willing to make if they are serious about returning to the NBA Finals this season. Turner would be an upgrade over Wiseman at the starting center position, giving them a more experienced big man who is capable of knocking down shots from beyond the arc.

This season, Turner is averaging 13.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks while shooting 54.3 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc, per ESPN.

Return To 'Cheat-Code Days'

With his injury history, swapping Wiggins for LeVert would undeniably be a huge gamble for the Warriors. However, if he could stay away from any major injury, Buckley thinks that pairing LeVert with Curry and Thompson would enable the Warriors to return to their "cheat-code days" in the 2021-22 NBA season.

"Caris LeVert, when healthy, is a proven shot-maker and secondary shot-creator," Buckley wrote. "Having him in the same offense with Curry and Thompson might get Golden State back to its cheat-code days."

'Love Life' Season 2 Release Date, Cast, and Plot - Everything We Know

Anna Kendrick is handing her Love Life torch to William Jackson Harper for season 2 of the HBO Max series.

After making her debut in the Sam Boyd-created romantic comedy as Darby Carter in May 2020, Kendrick will remain on the series but will step back from her lead role as Harper takes over for the second season as Marcus Watkins.

The new episodes of Love Life, which Kendrick not only stars in, but executive produces, was first confirmed by Deadline in June 2020.

When is the Release Date of 'Love Life' Season 2?

Following a September release of the Love Life season 2 trailer shared by HBO Max on YouTube, fans of the anthology series learned new episodes would begin streaming on October 28.

Around the same time, an additional report from Deadline revealed that on October 28, viewers would be getting the first three episodes of the new season.

As for the rest of the season, which consists of 10 episodes in total, the following three episodes would be released on November 4 and the remaining four will be shared on November 11.

Who is in the Cast of 'Love Life' Season 2?

Miley Cyrus' Gucci Scent: Optimism, Hope, And Excitement

Logging in for an online interview with the magazine's Editor in Chief, Mel Ottenberg, Miley -- who prepared her own notes "because I have a very personal connection with the Flora Fantasy, what it means to me" -- said her Gucci perfume embodies optimism, hope, and excitement.

Not afraid to get vulnerable, the "Prisoner" singer confessed those same positive qualities, which she admitted Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele saw in her before she saw them in herself, turned Flora Fantasy into an "escape" for her personally amid a troubled 2020.

"Alessandro saw me in a way that I couldn't at the time, because when we started talking about making this partnership a reality, it was around October of 2020 and that was a very different period for not just me, but for the world," said Miley.

The "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker, who has been busily promoting her "playful" new zine on Instagram, continued: "There was so much darkness and there was so much heaviness and it was right in the middle of the pandemic and the protest and the politics of it all. Not 'The Right Girl' For The Job

While Miley certainly seems like the perfect fit for Gucci's "rebellious" Flora Gorgeous Gardenia Eau Perfume, the artist wasn't convinced she was "the right girl" for the job. The singer, who revealed during the interview that she wore the perfume on a censored body part, confessed she originally felt she was too "dark" to represent the Flora Fantasy.

"Alessandro saw me in this soft, vulnerable, light, whimsical state that I couldn't see," said Miley, disclosing she initially told him he "made a mistake" in choosing her for the campaign.

Luckily, the Gucci creative director didn't share her opinion.

"And he goes, 'Well that's not what I really see and that's not what I feel the public sees. I feel like you are hope and optimism,'" shared Miley.

Gardenias Remind Her Of Her Grandmother

Speaking about what the Flora Fantasy means to her, Miley said the gardenia fragrance reminds her of her late grandmother, "Mammie" Loretta Finley, whom the former Hannah Montana star lost just two months before she came onboard the Gucci campaign.

"Part of her identity to all of us, her grandkids, was floral, because honey, she WORE it. The wallpaper was floral, the couch, everything," Miley told Interview Mag.

"Her house always smelled like flowers and I feel that if you can have an emotional attachment or spiritual attachment to everything, it makes buying something as simple as a perfume into this emotional experience," said the actress and musician, noting that flowers -- a staple at births, birthdays, and funerals -- "are a representation of cycles of life."

"For me personally, when I use the gardenia, it's not on a physical level, it's, like, this overwhelming sense that my grandmother is around," said Miley, hinting that wearing perfume is just as crucial to her identity as being a musician. "It penetrates on a deeper level and that's what I think the Flora Fantasy really represents."

More Than A Morning Ritual

Miley, who leaned emotionally on Flora Fantasy during the pandemic and even incorporated it in her live Instagram talk show, Bright Minded, said she's finally feeling hopeful and optimistic.

"Now, almost a year full-circle later, I resonate with this fantasy so much and the spirit of the gorgeous gardenia because of its cycles of life and its, you know, unity with nature," shared the artist. "Knowing that there's a prime time for your beauty, for you to thrive, and there's a time for you to be more discreet. I just think that I resonate with the Flora Fantasy in a way that I didn't know."

The pop star, who previously said "the Flora Fantasy is about being who you really are," explained that wearing perfume "can be something deeper" than simply adhering to a morning ritual: "You have to be very careful with what you choose because your scent too will leave a mark on other people."

Lala Kent Slams Ariana Madix's 'Disgusting' Behavior Amid Ongoing Feud

Lala Kent and Ariana Madix have been feuding since the premiere episode of Vanderpump Rules at the end of last month and judging by the looks of things in more recent episodes, as well as the drama that has played out on social media, their tension isn't going to subside anytime soon.

According to a report from Page Six, Kent recently went after Madix on the Bravo reality series, telling her longtime cast mate, "The way you acted at Scheana [Shay]'s birthday was disgusting."

As fans will recall, Madix was involved in a loud disagreement at the event.

Lala Kent Pulled Charli Burnett Into Her Drama With Ariana Madix

During the episode one week prior, Kent and Madix butted heads after Kent said on a podcast that she "didn't give a f-ck" about Madix.

Following her comments about Madix's "disgusting" behavior, Kent pulled their Vanderpump Rules cast mate, Charli Burnett, into their dispute because she had previously discussed the ongoing tension between them.

"How in the world is Charli going, 'Oh, she's just hurt'? I'm confused," Kent stated.

Burnett was brought to the cast for season eight after landing a hosting gig at SUR Restaurant, where the series is based.

Lala Kent And Ariana Madix Have Been Feuding For Many Years

After Kent mentioned Burnett, Burnett attempted to defend both herself and Madix against her and ultimately told Kent that she "can't f-cking play" with her.

As Vanderpump Rules fans well know, Kent and Madix have feuded on and off for the past several seasons of the show.

Even after hooking up years ago, things between them remained up and down and in May of this year, Kent admitted to unfollowing her cast mate and former friend on social media while appearing on a podcast.

Lala Kent Claims Ariana Madix Prefers to Befriend Underdogs

During the appearance, Kent said that she stopped being in the good graces of Madix once she got out of her "drowning" place and got happy.

"[Ariana] loves a good underdog. She loves anyone who's drowning, which is great when you're the one drowning because she's definitely going to throw you the life vest. You know, with Ariana, it is what it is," Kent said on the #NoFilter with Zack Peter podcast of Madix, according to a report from Us Weekly.

Because Kent seemed to believe that Madix kicked her to the curb once she no longer needed her, she told host Zack Peter that she was done pretending to be close with her cast mate.

Assailant in Stone Bridge High Sexual Assault Case Found Guilty

A juvenile assailant accused of sexual assault at Stone Bridge High in Virginia was found guilty in Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court this week. The incident occurred on May 28 of this year, and involved an assault in the bathroom of the high school, an assault that included forced sodomy and fellatio reports Loudon Now.

Following the incident, the now-convicted 14-year-old male assailant was transferred to another school at Broad Run High School, where another incident occurred on Oct. 6.

The student will return to court on Nov. 15 for a hearing relating to that second incident.

The Transgender Problem at Stone Bridge High

The charges related to the second assault include sexual battery and abduction. The family of the female victim in the May incident is saying the problem was "predictable and preventable."

The assailant in the May incident was a biological male wearing a skirt in the women's bathroom before the female victim was attacked. The two teens reportedly knew each other prior to seeing each other in the bathroom.

It is unclear if the male is transgender or not, as the authorities have not commented on the convicted teen's gender identity reports the Washington Post. However, it is a point at the center of this case.

What initiated the attack also remains unclear, however the policies on transgender student rights have been a focus of the school board since the incident. The policy known as 8040 allows transgender students to use a bathroom that matches with their gender identity reports New York Post.

That policy did not come into effect until after the incident. At least one parent, separate from the family of the victim's, has accused the school board of covering up the sexual assault in order to push a pro-transgender policy, and has called for the resignation of the superintendent.

A Heated School Board Meeting

A June School Board meeting was held regarding a proposed policy known as Policy 8040 on transgender student rights. At the time, the superintendent of the district, Superintendent Scott Ziegler said no assaults in restrooms had occurred. He later walked that back saying he did not understand the question.

During the board meeting, the father of the victim was present. He was later arrested after an altercation with another attendee at the meeting. The parent was convicted on August 17 of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, and plans to appeal and seek Title IX actions against the county.

The Students Walked Out

This past Tuesday, students in the Loudon County Public School system organized a walkout in solidarity for student safety reports WJLA. Crowds were seen at Stone Bridge High and other Loudon County high schools, including Broad Run High, Lightridge High School, Briar Woods High School, and Loudon County High School.

During the protest, students chanted, "Loudon County protects rapists." Several hundreds of students attended the walkout. Other chants included, "We need change. This is BS. We demand change."

The case is gaining national attention.

The Family of the First Victim

The family of the first victim has undergone incredible duress since the assault on their daughter. The daughter is healing and dealing with trauma from the assaults, but is getting support from students across the district.

In addition to the assaults, the family and others in the district now know that the district knew about the problem and did nothing until the sheriff's county became involved.

Loudon Now reports that the Bill Stanley of The Stanley Group, the attorney for the victim said,

"No one should have to endure what this family has endured, and now their focus is completely on their daughter's health and safety as she progresses forward with her life."

By reporting the incident, the victim has taken a critical step in exposing a school board for ignoring violence and safety against children in Loudon County schools.

Lourdes, who thanked her stylist and the shoot's creative director in her caption, kept it both raunchy and classy - a vibe made iconic by "Music" hit-maker mother Madonna. Lourdes also snagged just under 90,000 views in a day for her video, one shared with comments disabled.

Shereé Whitfield Gets Her Claws Out For Bikini Phonecall

Shereé Whitfield may well be sitting home right now, watching her name spike up Google search trends. The reality star, re-joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta for Season 14, hasn't been on the Bravo franchise since her 2018 departure, but she has been busy on Instagram - and not just getting likened to tennis pro Serena Williams while on horseback.

Earlier this year, and before Hot Girl Summer was over, Shereé posted from her pool, and it was claws out and bikini action.

Bikini Game Strong

Scroll for the photo. Shereé , whose Bravo re-join comes shortly after Porsha Williams and Cynthia Bailey announced their exits, updated back in July and from a luxurious-looking, outdoor pool.

Showing off her sensational swimsuit body, the 51-year-old posed while on the phone and rocking a rusty-red bikini with a low neckline and a chic gold clasp detail at the bust. Half-submerged in water, the star highlighted her cleavage as much as her gym-honed muscles, with one heck of a manicure also on show.

Kandi Burruss Is All For The Return

Back In July, Housewives face Kandi Burruss sat down with Access Hollywood's Housewives Nightcap, where she aired her thoughts on Whitfield returning to the franchise.

"I always love Shereé," she said. "She's always good TV to me. She's had some very explosive moments in some of these past seasons. So, I'm here for it, honestly. If they decide that they want Shereé to come back, I'm here for it."

"I always considered myself to have a good relationship with Shereé," Kandi added, although she did admit the two hadn't always seen "eye to eye."

Sheree Always Had The Door Open

Way before her return was announced, Sheree appeared on Watch What Happens Live, stating:

"I would never say never. You know, we had good times over there. When we're having a good time, it's good. Sometimes it goes low. I'm in a different place right now and I wouldn't say no."

Talk is right now also centering over whether Whitfield is still with beau Tyrone Gilliams - the two are said to be "still together, and he will be on the show," per Variety.
