Non-Union Replacement Responsible For Prop Gun In Alec Baldwin Accidental Set Shooting

New updates have been coming in about the recent Alec Baldwin accidental set shooting and the details on the set are even more disturbing.

Reportedly, the prop master who was in charge of checking and handling the prop gun that Baldwin used had just been "brought in" to the set as a replacement hire.

According to new details, there had already been problems on set because of working conditions. There had also been three gun misfires even before Baldwin's fatal shooting.

Safety Problems On Set

Even before the tragedy unfolded, there had already been numerous problems on set.

Several crew members complained about long hours, long commutes, late paychecks and safety protocols not being followed.

There have also been concerns about gun safety. Someone from the crew was alarmed about the gun misfires on set and sent a text to their unit production manager:

"We've now had 3 accidental discharges. This is super unsafe," according to a copy of the message reviewed by the LAT.

Crew Walked Off The Set

The conditions were so bad that some of the crew members protested and walked off the set hours before the tragedy happened. But, a settlement was quickly reached and those who walked out came back and started setting up their gear.

However, several nonunion workers came in to replace some of the crew. One of the replacement crew was an unidentified prop master, who was responsible for the gun that Baldwin fired.

According to Associated Press, assistant director Dave Halls handed Baldwin the loaded weapon, announcing it was a "cold gun" and safe to use.

Baldwin Didn't Know The Gun Had Live Rounds

Baldwin wasn't aware that the gun handed to him contained live rounds, investigators said.

The revolver was one of three guns that the set's armorer placed on a cart. Assistant director David Halls grabbed one of the guns and handed it to Alec for the scene.

Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was 42, was fatally shot in the chest. Director Joel Souza, 48, who was standing behind Hutchins was also injured. It is unclear how many rounds were shot.

Filming Has Been Shut Down

The film's script supervisor told AP that she was standing next to Hutchins when the gun was fired. She also said that she was the one who called 911.

"This woman is gone at the beginning of her career. She was an extraordinary, rare, very rare woman." Mitchell shared.

Production and filming of Rust have since been halted. The case is currently in the preliminary stages of investigation.

Autopsy for Brian Laundrie Inconclusive, Cause of Death Still Unknown

Autopsy results for Brian Laundrie have been released, with inconclusive results reports the New York Post. It is suspected that the results are inconclusive due to the location of the skeletal remains, and lack of soft tissue due to weather and other elements in the location where 23-year-old Brian Laundrie was found this week.

His bones will now be sent to a forensic anthropologist who will attempt to determine the cause of death. Steve Bertolino, attorney for the Laundrie family, told the New York Post that, "no manner or cause of death was determined."

Twenty-two year-old Gabby Petito has also been sent to a forensic anthropologist for further examination reports the New York Post.

Where Brian Laundrie Was Found

The remains of Brian Laundrie were found in Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park in Florida this week. The park is home to alligators and pigs, and the remains were found underwater.

With the remains were a dry backpack. Inside the backpack was a wet notebook reports CTV News. The FBI confirmed Thursday that the remains were Brian Laundrie. He had been missing for over one month, after Gabby Petito was reported missing by her family on September 11. Gabby was later found strangled, and buried in Wyoming near Grand Teton National Park.

Steven Bertolino Alerts Law Enforcement

Steven Bertolino said Thursday that Chris and Roberta Laundrie, parents of Brian, had asked to go to the Environmental Park on Wednesday. He said, "My understanding was it either open to the public on Tuesday or Wednesday, and Chris and Roberta decided that since it was open…they wanted to go and look for Brian by themselves." Bertolino said that he wanted to let law enforcement know that was happening, "so what we would have no issue."

At the time, Brian Laundrie was wanted on an indictment for using debit cards that were not his. He was also a person of interest in the Gabby Petito murder.

The Laundrie Family

The Laundrie family has been vilified by the public watching this case unfold. Florida law enforcement and the FBI have been looking for Brian Laundrie since Gabby Petito was found.

Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie went on a long-term road trip together that was expected to last several months. They left in June 2021.

Brian Laundrie was wanted on an indictment for debit card use during the last week of August 2021. He returned home from the trip alone on Sept. 1, 2021. Gabby Petito's family reported her missing on September 11.

Brian Laundrie disappeared from his parent's home on September 13, 2021, and has been missing since. Gabby was found on September 18. When the Laundrie family lawyer Steven Bertolino was first asked if Brian had told his family anything about Gabby, Bertolino replied, "Not something I can comment on right now."

The Independent reports that after Brian's disappearance, police had put a camera in a garbage bin to watch the home. There were also cameras reportedly installed in the backyards of neighbors.

North Police in Florida confirmed that surveillance cameras had been installed before and after he was reported missing on September 13.

The Gabby Petito “Incident”

Attorney for the Laundrie family Steven Bertolino has not maintained Brian Laundrie's innocence since his disappearance, however he has stated that the family has cooperated with the FBI "from day one." He also referred to the murder as "the Gabby Petito incident."

He has also said that the family did not help Brian Laundrie evade law enforcement. The New York Post says that he said, "this is tragic for two families. And anybody with a child, and anybody with a sense of humanity can understand the frustration that both families feel on that point."

Rick Stafford, attorney for the Petito-Schmidt family says the family will not be making any statements until they are "emotionally ready."

NBA Rumors: Sixers Could Offer Ben Simmons To Raptors For OG Anunoby & Goran Dragic

Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons has been the subject of trade rumors since the 2021 NBA offseason. After taking most of the blame for their failure to capture the Larry O'Brien Trophy last season, Simmons has distanced himself from the Sixers and been actively finding his way out of the City of Brotherly Love.

The former No. 1 pick may remain an official member of the Sixers' roster in the 2021-22 NBA season, but most people are still expecting him to be moved before the 2022 NBA trade deadline.

Ben Simmons Linked To Toronto Raptors

In the past months, Simmons continues to receive interest from title contenders that need additional star power and rebuilding teams that want to speed up their timeline. One of the dark-horse trade destinations for Simmons is the Toronto Raptors. In a Substack newsletter, NBA insider Marc Stein gave an update regarding the rumors linking the Raptors to Simmons.

The Raptors don't currently have a player of Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal's caliber but if the Sixers give up on acquiring a superstar, Stein believes that Toronto would be in a strong position to land Simmons before the 2022 NBA trade deadline.

Proposed Trade Package To Acquire Ben Simmons

If they finally realize that they couldn't acquire an All-Star for their disgruntled player, Stein thinks that the Sixers could explore trading Simmons to the Raptors in exchange for a package that includes OG Anunoby and Goran Dragic.

"Rather than pursue a swap centered around Pascal Siakam, it is easier to see Philadelphia trying to push to acquire a rising star capable of replicating Simmons' versatility — namely OG Anunoby — who can be packaged with a playoff-tested veteran ballhandler to give the Sixers' backcourt a needed boost (Goran Dragić)," Stein wrote, as quoted by NBC Sports.

Sixers Replace Ben Simmons With Two Solid Contributors

Anunoby and Dragic would be intriguing acquisitions for the Sixers in the potential deal involving Simmons. Though they aren't close to the level of Beal and Lillard, adding Anunoby and Dragic to the Sixers' core of Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, Seth Curry, and Danny Green would make the Sixers a more competitive team in the 2021-22 NBA season.

Anunoby would give the Sixers a three-point threat and a young player with huge superstar potential, while Dragic would provide them with a veteran floor general who has plenty of playoff experience.

Ben Simmons Starts New Journey In Toronto

As of now, it remains unknown if the Raptors are really exploring the possibility of trading Anunoby and Dragic for Simmons before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. However, it isn't surprising that they are interested in bringing Simmons to Toronto.

Simmons may still have major flaws in his game but compared to Pascal Siakam, he has more potential to become the face of the franchise. If they succeed to acquire him, the Raptors could make Simmons the centerpiece of the next-title contending team that they will try to build in Toronto in the post-Kyle Lowry era.

Alex Murdaugh 9-1-1 Calls Released From Alleged Shooting

A series of 911 calls have been released from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) from an alleged Sept. 4 shooting against former South Carolina lawyer Alex Murdaugh. The shooting was alleged by Alex, who called 911 from the side of a road saying he had been shot in the head.

During the call, Murdaugh spoke calmly while seeking help. It has since been alleged that the call was a death-wish or suicide attempt so that his son Buster could secure $10 million in life insurance benefits, reports the New York Post.

Among other counts, Murdaugh is facing charges of insurance fraud.

Recording Number One

The incident comes after a family crisis that occurred this past June, where the wife and son of Alex Murdaugh were killed. Murdaugh was considered a person of interest in the case.

On Sept. 4, Murdaugh called Hampton County 911 alleging that he had been shot on Salkehatchie Road. He said that he was near a church with a red roof. He told the dispatcher, "I stopped, I got a flat tire, and I stopped and somebody stopped to help me….when I turned my back they tried to shoot me."

He also told the dispatcher that he was having problems seeing and that he was bleeding. When asked where he had been shot he said, "I'm not sure, somewhere on my head."

Fifty-three year-old Alex Murdaugh was asked for a description of the person that shot him, and he said it was a man who looked younger than him with short hair. The New York Post reports that Murdaugh's lawyers say that the man Murdaugh identified was 61-year-old Curtis "Fast Eddie" Smith, whose description does not match what Murdaugh said to 911.

Murdaugh's lawyers say that Smith was hired to help kill Murdaugh. Smith is also facing charges on the matter.

Recording Number Two

Murdaugh's initial phone call to 911 was cut short, resulting in a second phone call where he asked for an ambulance. He began to tell the operator a passerby was stopping to take him to the hospital, until an ambulance arrived.

There were passerbys on the road at the time, who made a call to 911 themselves, saying there was a man on the side of the road with "blood all over him." They told the dispatcher, "He looks fine but it kind of looks like a setup, so we didn't stop."

The Hampton County dispatcher responded, "Oh, I don't blame you." This 911 call from Murdaugh has since become one of his many legal challenges. Murdaugh, a former prominent South Carolina lawyer, has been barred from the firm with his name. He is being sued by the firm for stealing funds as part of a "systematic scheme."

Murdaugh’s Suicide Attempt

Following Murdaugh's second 911 call on Sept. 4, he was airlifted to a hospital. One report said there were no visible injuries. His legal team has since requested a change to that report, indicating that he had suffered multiple fractures and bleeding from a gunshot that left a clear entry and exit wound.

Murdaugh's defense on the call is that he wanted to die due to an opioid addiction and trauma stemming from the death of his son and wife. He was charged with insurance fraud, filing a false police report, and conspiracy to commit insurance fraud.

Alex Murdaugh Now

Following those charges, Murdaugh was sent to a rehab facility, that he reportedly left without permission. He has been arrested following the 911 calls on unrelated charges of misappropriating funds, and has been denied bail on that matter reports CNN. Curtis Smith has since been charged with insurance fraud counts as well, but has said that he did not ever shoot Alex Murdaugh.

Murdaugh has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. In addition to these charges, he is suspended from practicing law and faces multiple lawsuits. A lawyer for Murdaugh, Dick Harpootlian, told Good Morning America that Murdaugh has "reconciled to the fact he's going to prison."

Seahawks News: Updates On Russell Wilson's Injury & Potential Return In 2021 NFL Season

The Seattle Seahawks were just in Week 5 of the 2021 NFL season when they lost starting quarterback Russell Wilson to an injury. In the third quarter of the Seahawks' 17-26 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, Wilson suffered a ruptured middle finger tendon in his throwing hand after colliding with Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

The finger injury forced Wilson to stay on the sideline in the remainder of their game against the Rams, and as of now, the 32-year-old quarterback is still undergoing rehabilitation.

Updates On Russell Wilson's Injury

Since he went down with a finger injury earlier this month, most NFL fans have been waiting to know when Wilson will rejoin the Seahawks in the 2021 NFL season. In an appearance on Good Morning Football, which is currently posted on Twitter, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network gave an update on Wilson's status.

Wilson isn't expected to return to the field anytime soon but according to Garafolo, he's "progressing well" and the pin in his finger would be coming out "within the next week."

Russell Wilson's Potential Return

As of now, the Seahawks haven't released an official statement regarding when Wilson will return to the field. However, Garafolo said that the Seahawks starting quarterback could rejoin the team when they face the Green Bay Packers in Week 10 of 2021 NFL season.

"He got two games then the bye week for Seattle, I believe there's shot for the game after that which would be the Packers," Garofolo said. "So that would be four weeks missed which would be ahead of schedule. Right now, some indications that Russ could beat the schedule."

Seahawks Getting QB Reinforcements While Russell Wilson Is Out

Since losing Wilson to a finger injury in Week 5 of the 2021 NFL season, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll had decided to use Geno Smith as their temporary starting quarterback. As of now, the Seahawks are yet to win a game since Smith became their signal-caller. After losing to the Rams, they also suffered a massive defeat at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6.

Though Smith is expected to remain a starter, the Seahawks recently decided to add some help at the quarterback position. According to ESPN, the Seahawks claimed QB Jacob Eason off the waivers after he parted ways with the Indiana Colts.

Seahawks Linked To Cam Newton

Before they decided to bring Eason to Seattle, the Seahawks were heavily linked to former New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton, a former NFL MVP and a three-time Pro Bowl. Newton became an unrestricted agent after he was released by the Patriots before the start of the 2021 NFL season. Carroll had confirmed that they had talked to Newton regarding the possibility of playing in Seattle.

Unfortunately, with their decision to sign Eason, it seems like Newton and the Seahawks failed to reach an agreement about a potential deal.

Kaley Cuoco is a sitcom vet and has worked in numerous hit shows including 8 Simple Rules and Ladies Man.

Her most notable role is, of course, Penny the waitress at The Cheesecake Factory in The Big Bang Theory. The CBS show was a hit, lasting 12 seasons and winning a total of 7 Emmy Awards and 46 nominations.

While the show wrapped in 2019, the cast remain to be good friends until now.

NBA Rumors: Warriors Reveal Why They Traded D'Angelo Russell For Andrew Wiggins

After earning his first All-Star recognition in 2019, D'Angelo Russell found himself being included in a sign-and-trade package that the Brooklyn Nets sent to the Golden State Warriors to acquire Kevin Durant. Though he had the power to control the outcome of the deal, Russell didn't express any opposition to the idea of playing for the Warriors.

During that time, the former No. 2 overall pick believed that joining forces with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green would give him a better chance of winning for his first NBA championship title. Unfortunately, Russell still hadn't finish his first season with the Warriors when they decided to trade him to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Andrew Wiggins.

Why The Warriors Traded D'Angelo Russell For Andrew Wiggins?

A few hours before the 2020 NBA trade deadline, the Warriors sent Russell, together with Omari Spellman and Jacob Evans, to the Timberwolves for Wiggins and two future draft assets. In a recent interview with ClutchPoints, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr revealed one of the main reasons why they decided to swap Russell for Wiggins.

"Honestly, the main reason we brought Wigs here (to the Warriors) was to be a versatile defender because that's what we missed most on the roster," Kerr said.

The Warriors' decision to trade him for Wiggins didn't hurt Russell at all. Though it didn't put him closer to capturing his first Larry O'Brien Trophy, the Warriors-Timberwolves blockbuster trade gave Russell the opportunity to team up with his close pal, Karl-Anthony Towns, in Minnesota.

Even before they were selected as the first and second overall picks in the 2015 NBA Draft, Towns and Russell had been dreaming of playing together in one team. Summit’s Mirrored Floors Inspires Dress Codes in NYC

A new observation deck in Manhattan known as Summit has inspired a dress code suggestion to potential visitors. The dress code comes after an art installation known as "Air" with mirrored floors resulted in some sneaky peekers. Some visitors don't seem to mind the suggestions of tights or leggings, saying it is "worth the risk" reports the New York Post.

Summit is an observation deck that has been described by Good Day as "New York's newest and most spectacular skyscraper." Travel & Leisure says the location "shatters all expectations" according to reviews posted on the Summit website.

The Art Installation

The installation is called an immersive art experience, a description used by the artists at Kenzo Digital for many of their designs. Kenzo Digital told the New York Post that the installation "shares the intoxicating sense of aspiration and inspiration that New York gives."

The creators also called the installation a beacon of possibility and something that pays tribute to all that New York is. The installation with its mirrored floors projects from the floor to reflective surfaces on the ceiling and elsewhere in the glassed-in location.

It was likely not the intent of the designers at Kenzo Digital, who are focusing more on the sense of "Air" ambience created by the glassed-in atmosphere of the installation.

The Creator – Kenzo Digital

The creators of Kenzo Digital are not new to the scenes of New York, or the field of immersive art experiences. The artists typically work incognito but have credits to their portfolio of collections that have been seen all over the world.

They have collaborated with Beyonce on a few performances, most recently for the Billboard Music Awards on ABC. For Beyonce's "Run the World (Girls)" they managed the concept, creative direction, and design. Another performance they have helped Beyonce with was the United Nations Humanitarian Day in New York.

Additionally, their immersive art installation called "Social Galaxy" has been seen in New York, and at the Rio and Seoul Olympics.

The Dress Code

The most recent installation, "Air" inspired the administrators at Summit to install an advisory on their website, recommending pants, tights, or shorts to visitors. A note warned, "Guests who are concerned about any unwanted exposure as a result of the mirrored floors and ceilings are responsible for dressing in a manner to avoid such exposure."

Many attendees reportedly adhere to the guidelines. Summit also offers a free pair of stretch shorts for any visitor that requests them. Tickets for the Summit range between $39 and $73.

The Audience Response

The New York Post visited Summit to test the reaction of the visitors for themselves. One 66-year-old Manhattan resident wore a long dress and said she didn't mind the issue. A 30-year-old L.A. visitor mentioned that she had not seen the suggestion on the Summit website, and wasn't bothered by the mirrored floors.

Another tourist, this visitor from Mexico, said she was there to celebrate her thirty-second birthday and wasn't letting a dress code get in the way of her fun. She preferred a skirt for her special day and noted that her husband did as well.
