‘Rust’ Star Jensen Ackles Pays Tribute to Halyna Hutchins After Fatal Set Shooting Posted: 24 Oct 2021 04:38 PM PDT ![]() Paying tribute. Jensen Ackles honored the late Halyna Hutchins days after she was shot and killed on the set of the Western movie Rust. 'Rust' Shooting: Everything to Know So Far Read article"I'm not even sure where to start," the actor, 43, wrote on Sunday, October 24. "This has been a tragedy of epic proportions that we are all still processing." Hutchins was killed on Thursday, October 22, when Alec Baldwin shot a gun that was declared "cold" — meaning unloaded — for a scene filmed at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The gun turned out to be loaded, and ammunition went through director Joel Souza and hit Hutchins. Souza was wounded but survived while the director of photography died at University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque. She was 42. The official investigation is ongoing. The Supernatural alum, who was announced as part of the Rust cast earlier this month, shared several photos of Hutchins via Instagram on Sunday alongside his tribute. "Earlier last week I felt compelled to tell Halyna just how awesome I thought she was," Ackles revealed. "I told her how incredible I thought her camera shots were and just how exciting it was to watch her and her team work. Truly. She laughed and said thank you and gave me a hug. I'll forever be thankful we had that moment. She had a spunk and passion that infected the entire crew from the top down. She was an inspiration." Alec Baldwin's 'Rust' Tragedy: Debra Messing and More Stars React Read articleThe Smallville alum — who shares daughter J.J., 8, and twins Arrow and Zeppelin, 4, with wife Danneel Ackles (neé Harris) — sent his thoughts to Hutchins' loved ones. "My heart and prayers go out to Halyna's husband, son and the rest of her family. There just aren't enough words to express what an immense loss this is," the Texas native added. "She will be incredibly missed by all of us who knew and admired her." The Family Business Beer Company cofounder announced that he and his spouse made two donations in tribute to Hutchins. "Danneel and I have donated to the AFI scholarship fund in her name and to the Go Fund Me," he revealed, encouraging fans to do the same if they're able. ![]() Ahead of the fatal accident, Ackles had discussed the use of guns on set. "I've got a 6 a.m. call tomorrow to have a big shootout," the actor told fans at a Supernatural convention held in Denver from October 15 to 17. The question made Supernatural fans laugh since he spent 15 seasons shooting guns as Dean Winchester on the CW drama. He continued, "I was like, 'A little.' And she's like, 'OK, well, this is how you load it, this is how we check it and make sure it's safe.'" Celebrity Deaths in 2021: Stars We've Lost Read articleThe armorer explained that she was "going to put some blanks" in the gun and instructed him to "fire off a couple rounds" at the landscape in the distance, which he did easily due to his years of experience. The clip made the rounds in the wake of Hutchins' death as questions remain unanswered about how Baldwin, 63, was given an armed weapon. For his part, the 30 Rock alum released a statement on Friday. "There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours. I'm fully cooperating with the police investigation," Baldwin shared via Twitter. The star, who is also a producer on the film, continued, "I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna." |

Kravitz, for her part, opted for a cream-colored turtleneck, oversized black jacket, wide-legged jeans and a gray beanie. After fueling dating rumors during earlier NYC outings and Tatum seemingly following Kravitz-themed fan accounts, Us confirmed the pair were officially a couple in August. Channing Tatum and Zoe Kravitz Caught Leaving the Met Gala Together Read article"Channing and Zoe are dating," a source exclusively told Us, noting the stars first connected while working on the upcoming film Pussy Island. "They both thought the other was cool, fun and attractive, but never acted on it because they were never single." The insider added that things "turned romantic fast" between the two costars. ![]() "They both have a lot in common, they're both very active and love outdoor sports and being in the outdoors," the source continued at the time. "They both work in Hollywood, but like being off the grid too, that's why the [recent] upstate getaway was so great for them." Weeks later, the pair both attended the 2021 Met Gala though kept their distance on the red carpet, posing separately. However, they were spotted leaving the Metropolitan Museum of Art together before the Sparkella author reposted a snap of them together at Alicia Key's afterparty. "This night!" Tatum captioned his Instagram Story post, sharing the 40-year-old's singer photo of Tatum, Kravitz, Keys and Moses Sumney. "No body [sic] wanted to trifle with us on the dance floor music and vibe was next level. Thank you @aliciakeys." The "I Belong to You" artist saw this conversation as a chance to hit up Tatum for a future acting gig, writing back, "Dude, I'm just trying to get in the next Magic Mike. Any connections?" Lenny's note about "connections" seemingly referred to the Divergent actress, his daughter whom he shares with ex Lisa Bonet. Before the Magic Mike XXL star and Zoë were linked, he was previously married to Jenna Dewan — with whom he shares 8-year-old daughter Everly — from 2009 to 2019 before dating Jessie J on and off between 2018 and 2020. ‘Friends’ Alum James Michael Tyler Dead at 59 After Cancer Battle Posted: 24 Oct 2021 02:26 PM PDT ![]() Rest in peace. James Michael Tyler, best known for his role as Gunther on Friends died on Sunday, October 24, after battling stage 4 prostate cancer. He was 59. The actor died in the comfort of his home on Sunday morning, his rep confirmed to TMZ. Celebrity Health Scares Through The Years Read articleNews of Tyler's death comes after the actor spoke about his condition during a June 2021 episode of Today. "I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, which had spread to my bones," he said. "I've been dealing with that diagnosis for almost the past three years. … It's stage 4 [now]. Late-stage cancer. So eventually, you know, it's gonna probably get me." The Friends fan favorite revealed he received a screening for a "prostate-specific antigen" during a routine checkup in September 2018. "That came back at an extraordinarily high number," he explained. "So I knew immediately when I went online and I saw the results of my blood test and blood work that there was obviously something quite wrong there. Nearly immediately, my doctor called me and said, 'Hey, I need you to come in tomorrow because I suspect that you may have quite a serious problem with your prostate.'" After additional testing, Tyler was diagnosed and referred to a specialist at UCLA. He soon began hormone therapy, which "worked amazingly for about a year" and allowed him to "go about life regularly," he revealed at the time. Stars Who Beat Cancer Read articleHis early treatment was relatively successful until the cancer spread during the height of the coronavirus pandemic. He learned the disease had spread to his bones, which causes paralysis in the lower half of his body. "I missed going in for a test, which was not a good thing," Tyler added. "So the cancer decided to mutate at the time of the pandemic, and so it's progressed. … Next time you go in for just a basic exam or your yearly checkup, please ask your doctor for a PSA test. It's easily detectable. … If it spreads beyond the prostate to the bones, which is most prevalent in my form, it can be a lot more difficult to deal with." The former Scrubs guest star started chemotherapy to "aggressively" fight the disease after it spread. Due to his treatment, Tyler was unable to attend the taping of the HBO Max Friends reunion, which debuted in May 2021, in person. Instead, he appeared via Zoom and called the experience "bittersweet." Secret Huddle, Selfies and More! 'Friends' Cast Share BTS Reunion Pics Read article"I wanted to be a part of that, and initially I was going to be on the stage, at least, with them, and be able to take part in all the festivities," he told the Today hosts in June. "I was very happy to be included. It was my decision not to be a part of that physically and make an appearance on Zoom, basically, because I didn't wanna bring a downer on it, you know? … I didn't want to be like, 'Oh, and by the way, Gunther has cancer.'" The Missouri native was widely known for playing Central Perk manager Gunther on the popular sitcom. According to an April 2018 interview with Insider, Gunther was created because Tyler was the only extra on set who knew how to work the espresso machine prop. His character went from being an unnamed barista in the background to the beloved snarky coffee shop manager, who had a massive crush on Rachel (played by Jennifer Aniston). "I learned so much just by being around them and our crew and cast – everyone was absolutely a master of the game," Tyler told Insider about his experience on the New York-based sitcom. "I was just observing how great TV is made." He also appeared in episodes of Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Scrubs, Episodes and Modern Music. |

She's Back! Everything to Know About the 3rd 'Wonder Woman' Movie Posted: 24 Oct 2021 12:30 PM PDT Third time's the charm! Wonder Woman 3 officially has the green light — and Warner Bros. has already revealed some juicy details about the superhero film. The studio initially announced the third movie in December 2020, just days after Wonder Woman 1984 started streaming on HBO Max. Gal Gadot, who plays the iconic Diana Prince, will collaborate with director Patty Jenkins for the third time. "We are excited to be able to continue [Wonder Woman's] story with our real-life Wonder Women – Gal and Patty – who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy," WB chairman Toby Emmerich said in a statement at the time. It isn't clear whether this is the final film for Gadot's Wonder Woman, but the third solo outing will likely tie up any remaining loose ends. "I want to see a third movie, too, to have 'a nice closure,'" Gadot told the "Just for Variety" podcast with Marc Malkin the same month. Jenkins, who is set to write and direct the third Wonder Woman film, has been toying with a concept for a while. However, the Emmy nominee revealed that she wasn't ready to commit to the story until the team gets closer to filming. "I've really hit the pause button. Because the truth is, where that plotline was coming from was our state of being six months ago," she told Total Film in June 2020. "And so I want to make sure that I'm totally absorbing whatever the result of this [coronavirus] pandemic is." The first Wonder Woman was released in June 2017 and took place in 1918 at the height of World War I as the superhero learned about the human world and discovered her gifts. In 2020, the debut of Wonder Woman 1984 revealed that Diana still had much to learn about her powers, including her ability to fly. The third movie, however, is unlikely to take place in the distant past. "I'm not planning to put it in the past again, because where are you going to go? You have to go forward," Jenkins told The Hollywood Reporter in January 2019. "It's definitely a contemporary story. That's all I can say." DC Comics fans know that Diana Prince's superhero alter ego is completely unknown by the public when the events of 2016's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice happen, so the upcoming flick might explain why Wonder Woman seemingly put down her golden lasso. WARNER BROS/Moviestore/Shutterstock![]() Gadot teased her excitement to return to the role during an October 2021 interview with Entertainment Tonight. That's not really my thing,'" the Bad Trip actress said during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in July 2020. Although Common wasn't up for it at first, he became interested in the process and the pair eventually did 18 takes for the short clip. "I'm like, 'For somebody who didn't want to do this, you now want to do another take and another take, come on bro,'" she joked. "But we had a good time. We were laughing." Soon after, the Like a Boss star confirmed her romance with the rapper while detailing how they moved out of the friend zone. "I met Common when I was filming my movie The Kitchen, he was in it. He was, I guess, kind of like my love interest," Haddish explained during an interview on the "Wild Ride! With Steve-O" podcast in July 2020. "I made out with him in the movie and we became friends but it wasn't anything sexual … because my eyes were set on something else." Working together on the Bumble campaign helped the twosome grow closer — and the Night School star found herself falling for the Chicago native. "I've lost 20 pounds since I've been in this relationship. I feel more confident in me and it's not him that's doing it," Haddish noted at the time. "I'm just way happier and it's, like, knowing I got somebody that cares about me, that really has my back. It seems like he does anyways, and I love it. I love him." As their romance got more serious, the California native revealed that she had "taken the precaution to protect" herself against an unplanned pregnancy with her boyfriend. "Let me tell you, if I get pregnant, that is all God — tearing down all walls, all barriers," the Grammy winner joked during an appearance on E!'s Daily Pop in May 2021. "Now, if that did happen, we're gonna hire some help, then we're gonna cry a lot. … And I'm not gonna be 'baby mama,' I'm gonna be 'wife.'" Did Harry and Meghan Markle Turn Down Title for Archie Over 'Mockery' Fear? Posted: 24 Oct 2021 07:00 AM PDT To receive a title or not to receive one? While there was plenty of speculation if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children would receive titles from Queen Elizabeth II upon their births, the royal couple made it clear that they were not interested in one specific honorary title. Archie's Photo Album: Prince Harry, Meghan Markle's Royal Baby Read article"[Archie] could have taken the title [of] the Earl of Dumbarton, which is an honorary title, but [Harry and Meghan] decided against that because they felt that the word 'dumb' in the word 'Dumbarton' would have been used as mockery when Archie went to school," royal biographer Andrew Morton exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting the re-release of his Meghan and the Unmasking of the Monarchy: A Hollywood Princess book, noting the sensitivity of the military veteran, 36, and the Suits alum, 40. "And again, it shows you their sensitivity to image," Morton, 68, added. "Which is something, you know, somebody was saying to me [that] the other day that they contacted team Sussex and the first question [the Sussexes] asked was 'What pictures are you using?' And that person thought, 'That's everything you need to know about the Sussexes.'" The Diana: Her True Story in Her Own Words author further noted that the California residents made it "perfectly clear" that they didn't want Archie, 2, to have a title, instead hoping he would be able to decide if he wanted one when he was older. Everything Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Have Said About Raising Archie Read article"Then we get into the whole business of whether or not a member of the Royal family talked about the color of the skin of Archie, whether that was graduated, the darker the skin, the less the protection and the less likely of getting a title," Morton said. "There was, as they both were well aware of, no chance of getting a title until Prince Charles takes over because they're only given the title of prince or princess [as] the son or grandson of the reigning sovereign and Archie was a great-grandson of the reigning sovereign." After Harry and the Dater's Handbook actress welcomed Archie in May 2019, he was not given a title, which Buckingham Palace believed was keeping in line with royal tradition. "The palace says it's nothing to do with race," a source exclusively told Us in March. "Under royal protocol established by King George V, only those in the direct line of succession to the throne get the titles [of] prince or princess." During the couple's tell-all CBS interview later that month, the Northwestern University alum clarified her comments about not giving Archie a title nor the personal protection officers that typically come with a title. ![]() "They didn't want him to be a prince or a princess, which would be different from protocol," Markle claimed at the time, noting that meant their little one would also not be given security. "It was really hard. … This went on for the last few months of our pregnancy where I'm going, 'Hold on a second. How does that work? If he's not gonna be a prince, he needs to be safe.'" A Breakdown of the Royal Line of Succession Read articleDuring the interview, the California native explained that she and the BetterUp Chief Impact Officer were given "no explanation" for the decision, adding, "I heard a lot of it through Harry and other parts through conversations with family members. It was a decision they felt was appropriate." Morton's Meghan and the Unmasking of the Monarchy: A Hollywood Princess biography was re-released on Tuesday, October 19, and he noted what readers can expect from the new edition. "I mean, when you do a paperback based on a hardback, you [usually add an expansion of] about 500 words and then that's it, this was [an additional] 30,000 words because when you look at everything that's happened, [it] has happened just about since the wedding," Morton said of his book additions. "So I left her poised to walk down the aisle, and then I picked up the story with her walking down the aisle without her father [and] with Prince Charles. So, in a way, it's taken the narrative of her life from before she married Prince Harry to today in a palace in Montecito, California." He added, "I have to say it's been an astonishing journey and I don't think anybody would have predicted the outcome of what's happened over the last three years." Justin Baldoni: Inside a Day in My Life Posted: 24 Oct 2021 06:00 AM PDT A very busy dad. Justin Baldoni stopped steaming up our screens as Rafael on Jane the Virgin in 2019, but he hasn't slowed down one bit. The actor, 37, has only expanded his horizons. His podcast, "Man Enough," which he launched in June, tackles toxic masculinity with celeb guests such as Matthew McConaughey, Shawn Mendes and Glennon Doyle. He's been directing emotional dramas such as Five Feet Apart, starring Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson, and Clouds, starring Sabrina Carpenter. When he isn't creating thoughtful content that might make fans reach for the Kleenex, Baldoni is raising his two children with wife Emily Baldoni, who he married in 2013. They share daughter Maiya, 6, and son Maxwell, 5. With both his kids in school, the working dad decided to team up with HP Instant Ink, which gives money to PTA programs across the country. HP will match up to $3 million in PTA donations as part of the program #HPPaysYourPTA, and Baldoni got to have fun creating a lip-sync video to "Back to School, Alright" — a parody of the Backstreet Boys classic, "Everybody." He encourages other parents to lip-sync the song and create their own Instagram Reels. The author, who released his book Man Enough: Undefining My Masculinity earlier this year, took Us Weekly through a typical day in his life, which starts with waffles and ends with a little bit of "mommy and daddy time." Scroll down to see a day in Baldoni's life: ![]() "We make the kids a gourmet breakfast before one of us takes them to school every day. And by gourmet breakfast, I mean waffles with syrup and butter on the side. God help us if it touches the waffle," Baldoni quipped. "Also, Maiya wanted to cheers. Here's to making it through week one of school!" Courtesy of Justin Baldoni ![]() "Writing time. I'm currently finishing the middle-grade adaption of Man Enough for 9 to 13 year old boys called Boys Will Be Boys Human," the California native revealed to Us. "Writing is fun. Writing is fun. Writing is fun." Courtesy of Justin Baldoni![]() "Still doing press and promoting the book, and because we are under construction, we turned our tiny house from Modern Tiny living into our podcast /work studio!" Baldoni explained. "And yes, I had an outfit change." Courtesy of Justin Baldoni![]() He likes being the goofy dad. Baldoni knows how silly the HP Pays Your PTA video for "Back to School, Alright" looks, and he hopes it gives everyone a laugh. "Yes, I look ridiculous, and yes, it was worth it," Baldoni admitted. "After what felt like 25 COVID tests, it feels amazing to be back on set with some of my best friends to shoot with HP in support of its new HP Pays Your PTA program. Also, I can't get this darn very auto-tuned song out of my head. I'm sorry in advance." Michael Simon/Startraks![]() "Made it back for the post-dinner workout!" the fit father shared. "One of the best parts about living in nature is that when things get stressful we can go outside, take off our shoes and ground ourselves. Since I didn't get to work out today, we let the kids go for a ride on our backs. Today's challenge was to keep our knees off the ground. Emily lost." Courtesy of Justin Baldoni![]() Bedtime doesn't come easy for Baldoni, though. "Our bedtime routine with the kids is lengthy, as I'm sure all parents can relate to," he said. "Snack time, bath time, story time, prayer time and cuddle time. And begging-them-to-go-the-*%#$-to-sleep time." Courtesy of Justin Baldoni![]() "Adulting is hard. Can we just be kids again? Emily and I will spend the next hour catching up on some work, and then it's mommy and daddy time," Baldoni teased. "Which means that this is the last photo because the rest is none of your business." Courtesy of Justin Baldoni |
