"I’ve been blacklisted,” the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 54, claimed in a statement to TMZ on Monday, May 2. “If you haven’t worked in more than three years when all of a sudden you’re working and sought after, then suddenly you’re not working, it’s being blacklisted. I haven’t caused any problems on any sets. Everybody I’ve ever worked with, I’ve had a good work relationship with except for this group of people.”

Leakes initially joined the cast of Real Housewives in 2008 before announcing her departure in season 7. She returned to the franchise for seasons 10, 11 and 12 before permanently leaving the reality show in September 2020.

“I have made the hard and very difficult decision to not be ap art of Real Housewives of Atlanta season 13,” the fashion designer said via her YouTube channel at the time. “It wasn’t an easy decision for me. … There has been a lot of emotion flying on both sides. I’m just so happy that I can that I was a part of a genre that opened doors for Black ensemble reality shows.”

The TV network, in a statement to Us Weekly at the time, wished Leakes "all the best in her future endeavors.” They added, "She's been instrumental since the start and will truly be missed, and maybe one day she'll hold the peach again."

When asked if she was looking for compensation from the lawsuit, The New Normal alum told TMZ said she "couldn't speak on that," but the claims she was aiming for a new. show of her own on the network was "so ridiculous."

The TV personality added: “We’re talking about discrimination, we’re not talking about a show,” she told the outlet. “It has nothing to do with having a temper tantrum and wanting a show. I never wanted my own show. I mean, I had many opportunities to have one — that’s not it. It’s discrimination, that’s what it is.”

The Glee alum's statement comes on the heels of her lawsuit against NBCUniversal, Bravo, production companies True Entertainment and Truly Original and executive producer Andy Cohen.

Leakes filed the claim in Atlanta Georgia in April 2022, according to documents obtained by Us.

"NBC, Bravo and True Original foster a corporate and workplace culture in which racially-insensitive and inappropriate behavior is tolerated — if not, encouraged,” the former Bravo personality alleged in the legal papers.

At the time of the filing, the Chicago star stated to TMZ that "the goals are to stop discrimination against Black women," noting that "nobody wants to go to work every day as a Black woman with blonde hair and the head of the corporation call you a white woman. So, stop discrimination.”

The New York native also accused former costar Kim Zolciak-Biermann of racist remarks that went unaddressed. After Leakes joined the Real Housewives, Zolciak-Biermann, 43, allegedly "perpetuated an offensive stereotype about African-Americans,” the court document says.

The comedian also claimed her concerns were ignored at the time, despite being vocal about the issue to executives at the network.

"From the day the series began filming, NeNe was the target of systemic racism from co-star Kim Zolciak-Biermann, which was tolerated by Bravo executive producer Andy Cohen and other executives," Leakes' lawyer David deRubertis said in a statement in April 2022.

Sharing Their Stories: Stars Who Survived Abuse

Posted: 04 May 2022 04:49 PM PDT

Over the years, many Hollywood stars have bravely come forward with their experiences of abuse — whether they be survivors of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, child abuse or another form of torment.

"It would start with tickling my back and then go into things that were extremely uncomfortable," Jessica Simpson detailed being sexually abused as a child in her 2020 memoir, Open Book"I wanted to tell my parents. I was the victim but somehow I felt in the wrong."

She added: "We never stayed at my parents' friends’ house again but we also didn't talk about what I had said."

Simpson later confronted her alleged attacker, revealing that she eventually forgave them.

"I would say about eight years ago I confronted her," the Newlyweds alum said during a July 2020 appearance on the "Gift of Forgiveness" podcast. "I went to her and I just said, 'I know you know what was going on and I know that you were being abused,' 'cause she was being abused by an older guy. And basically, and he was always there at the house as well — he never touched me, but he would abuse her and then she would come to me and do the stuff to me — and so in so many ways I felt bad for her and I was allowing the abuse to happen."

Former Bachelorette Clare Crawley has also been candid about surviving abuse.

"I grew up going to a Catholic school and I was the victim of a predator," the California-based hairstylist revealed during a September 2021 appearance on Red Table Talk: The Estefans. "My parents looked at Catholic priests as — they held them on a pedestal."

Crawley, who briefly served as the season 16 lead of The Bachelorette, added: "My parents did the best they could and reached out for the resources they could at the time and sent me to this priest. I don't think there was any counseling that was done. It was a one-on-one time to be a predator."

“Self love is the act of giving a voice to your truth. … As a child of sexual abuse, my young adult years were spent in unhealthy relationships feeling unworthy of the good ones,” the Bachelor Winter Games alum wrote via Instagram in July 2021. “It was a vicious cycle, because the more I chose the wrong men who treated me poorly, the more I believed I wasn’t good enough.” ABC/Craig Sjodin

The singer revealed in her 2020 memoir, Open Book, that she was sexually abused at the age of 6 at a family friend’s house. “I wanted to tell my parents. The former View host claimed in the book Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of The View that her father, Edward O’Donnell, sexually abused her when she was a child. “It started very young,” the SMILF actress told author Ramin Setoodeh. “And then when my mother died, it sort of ended in a weird way, because then he was with these five children to take care of. On the whole, it’s not something I like to talk about. Of course, it changes everyone. The Westworld actress detailed a past abusive relationship in March 2019 as she shared portraits from a photo shoot. “The day of this photoshoot, I was so weakened by an abusive relationship,” she wrote in the caption of the Instagram post. “I was emaciated, severely depressed, and could barely stand. I fell into a pool of tears and was sent home for the day.” In a follow-up post, she shared a pic of scratch marks on her forearm. “2 years into my abusive relationship I resorted to self harm,” she wrote in that caption, not naming her abuser. “When my abuser would threaten or attack me, I cut my wrist as a way to disarm him. It only made the abuse stop temporarily. At that point I was desperate to stop the relentless abuse and I was too terrified to leave.” Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images

Amber Heard Claims Johnny Depp Hit Her for 1st Time Over His 'Wino' Tattoo, More Explosive Details From Her Trial Testimony

Taking the stand. Amber Heard spoke out for the first time on Wednesday, May 4, amid her ongoing defamation case involving her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.

The Aquaman actress, 36, shared details about her marriage to Depp, 58 — which lasted from 2015 to 2017 — with the Virginia court on Wednesday, alleging that the Pirates of the Caribbean star had a history of violence during their relationship.

Heard claimed that the first time Depp hit her was while the duo were drinking near a "jar of cocaine" and the Texas native asked the Lone Ranger star what the tattoo on his arm said. The Magic Mike XXL actress recalled laughing when Depp responded, "Wino Forever," which allegedly got a rise out of the actor.

“He slapped me across the face and I laughed,” Heard said during her testimony. “I laughed because I didn’t know what else to do. I thought this must be a joke because I didn’t know what was going on. I just stared at him thinking that he was going to start laughing too.”

The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory star, however, allegedly didn't crack a smile, instead yelling at Heard, "You think it's so funny? You think it's funny, bitch? You think you're a funny bitch?"

The Drive Angry actress, who met Depp while filming 2011's The Rum Diary, recalled her ex-husband allegedly sobbing after he realized what he'd done and then apologizing over and over.

“As a woman, I had never been hit like that," Heard told the jury on Wednesday, noting that the alleged incident is something she "will never forget."

Depp is suing Heard for defamation over a 2018 op-ed piece she wrote for The Washington Post in which she detailed her alleged survival as an abused woman. While the Danish Girl star didn't name Depp in the piece, his attorneys have argued that based on her prior allegations of abuse at the hands of the actor, it isn't hard for people to associate him with the slanderous op-ed.

“I struggle to find the words on how painful this is. This is horrible for me to sit here for weeks and relive everything here with people that I knew — some well, some not," Heard said on Wednesday. “This is the most painful and difficult thing I’ve ever gone through for sure.”

The same day, the Justice League actress claimed that Depp's alleged abusive actions didn't stop after the tattoo incident. She recalled multiple occasions in which her ex-spouse allegedly harmed her, including a time in 2013 where Depp left a large bruise on her arm, which Heard showed to the court via a photo exhibit.

Heard recalled allegedly getting into a shouting match with Depp at the time he slapped her. She claimed to have thrown a vase at the Kentucky native in order to escape him, but Depp allegedly grabbed her by the arm, held her on the floor and screamed at her, which according to Heard left marks.

Depp, for his part, emphatically denied Heard's allegations of abuse during his testimony last month.

"Never did I myself reach the point of striking Ms. Heard in any way, nor have I ever struck any woman in my life," the Edward Scissorhands actor said in his April 19 testimony. "It's been six years of trying times. It's pretty strange when one day you're Cinderella, so to speak, then 0.6 seconds you're Quasimodo. I didn't deserve that, nor did my children, nor did the people who have believed in me for all these years."

"I must say, having Tarek and Taylor and Brayden there for moral support was everything," the reality star, 34, exclusively tells Us Weekly, explaining that she wants to “involve [the kids] throughout the whole process.” She adds: "They'd sing with me and hold my hand and stand in the bathroom with me."

El Moussa, 40, — who shares daughter Taylor, 11, and son Brayden, 6, with ex-wife Christina Hall (née Haack) — "would just hug me and say, 'It'll be over soon,'" Young recalls to Us. She notes that her husband would comfort her on the days she "didn't even wanna get out of bed" by saying, "It's not you. It's just the hormones."

"If I didn't have him, I don't know how I would have gotten through it," the Netflix star shares.

She elaborates: "Because if I was on my own — there’s a lot of ups and downs and it’s emotional and the hormones and pricking yourself every single day with shots and going in for blood work," noting she's "already scared to get my blood taken" to begin with.

Young calls herself "lucky" to receive the "moral support" from El Moussa and Taylor and Brayden, who she lovingly refers to as "my kids."

The couple have been candid about their back-and-forth decisions on trying for a third child. The realtor, who tells Us she has "low fertility," opened up about wanting to freeze embryos in November 2021, one month after she and the Tarek's Flip Side alum tied the knot. She has proceeded to document her IVF journey via Instagram and revealed last month that she was "pausing" the treatments for now.

"We were planning on implanting this summer, and it is already May and the summer is around the corner," she explains to Us, adding that a series of "health issues" — Young recently underwent vocal cord surgery and broke her foot — made her take a beat.

"I just didn’t feel like I wanted to put my body through anything else, and so we decided to push it off a few months," she adds. In an interview with E! News' Daily Pop in April, she revealed that she intends to get pregnant "sometime this year, maybe in [the] fall."

The pair currently have four frozen embryos that are awaiting "further testing," Young explains to Us, due to El Moussa's Lynch syndrome. The genetic predisposition, which they want to ensure the embryos don't have, gives one a higher chance of getting various types of cancer. (The HGTV alum has survived both testicular cancer and thyroid cancer.)

Though Young and El Moussa discussed the possibility of having twins "last night," she reveals, "I think we decided as a couple that we're gonna do one and be done."

'The Vampire Diaries' Cast: Who the Stars Have Dated in Real Life

Posted: 04 May 2022 02:16 PM PDT

Keeping love alive! The Vampires Diaries, which aired from 2009 to 2017, focused on the inhabitants in the fictional town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. Fans quickly found themselves invested not only in the romantic relationships explored on the show, but also the ones in real life.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, who portrayed Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore, respectively, sparked a romance in 2010 and continued to date for three years. One year after their split, Somerhalder moved on with Nikki Reed, but there were no hard feelings between the exes.

In January 2019, Dobrev admitted that she didn’t find it “weird” that she was friends with Somerhalder and Reed despite her history with the Smallville alum.

"I don't think that's weird at all," the Flatliners star responded during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen at the time. "I think that's great. Why can't everyone be friends?"

Dobrev, for her part, found love with Shaun White in 2020. One year later, the athlete opened up about watching his girlfriend in her memorable role on the CW series.

“As we were getting to know each other, I was like, ‘Oh, I should check this show out,'” the X Games gold medalist exclusively told Us Weekly in June 2021. “There’s a lot of episodes. Not that I was mad about it, but I didn’t realize, like, how deep I was going to go. Because seasons now are, like, oh, 10 episodes. These are, like, 23 episodes a season. And I was in it!”

Although White was committed to exploring Dobrev’s past filmography, he admitted that he had no idea about the spinoffs that came from the sci-fi series, including the Originals and Legacies.

“So that’s why that keeps popping up on my suggested [shows],” he joked about the first spinoff show. “Who is The Originals? Who are these copycats?”

At the time, White also revealed how the couple managed to celebrate their anniversary during the coronavirus pandemic.

“I wanted to recreate our first date, but everything was closed,” he detailed. “I managed to sweet talk the owner of the place to open up for us. It was actually pretty fun to have a place all to ourselves.”

As for Dobrev’s former costar, Somerhalder tied the knot with Reed in 2015. The Twilight actress later shared her secret to making their marriage work, which included being invested in each other’s goals.

"I've always had many things that I feel incredibly passionate about, as does Ian," the Thirteen star told Us in 2019. "We're both really passionate people and we both have a lot going on all the time, so I think that being supportive of the other person's dreams and aspirations and passions is important and it's something that we practice."

Two years later, the Lost alum weighed in on the key to having a successful relationship.

"Communication, taking time for yourself, for yourselves together,” he said on SiriusXM's Radio Andy in February 2021. “She's the first one that says, 'Go, go on a bike ride, go socially distance walk with your buddies, go have a bourbon at the bar,' you know, like, just go."

Off the Market! The Vampire Diaries’ Kat Graham Is Engaged to Darren Genet

Posted: 04 May 2022 02:08 PM PDT

Ready to walk down the aisle! Several celebrity couples took their love to the next level in 2022 by getting engaged.

Josh Duhamel popped the question to Audra Mari in January after two years of dating. The actor was previously married to Fergie from 2009 to 2019, and the exes share son Axl, whom they welcomed in August 2013.

"They are both really good people and committed to their son, but they are too different to make it work," a source told Us Weekly in September 2017 shortly after the duo confirmed their split.

Fergie opened up in October 2017 about calling it quits with Duhamel. "It wasn't my plan," she said on The Wendy Williams Show at the time. "I wanted to stay married forever."

A year later, the Las Vegas alum hinted at his desire to remarry. "I want to have more kids in the next few years. So it's more about finding someone young enough to have kids," he explained on the "Armchair Expert" podcast in December 2018. "It's not as if I'm out there just trying to f–k anything. That's really not who I am. I'm trying to find a girl that I can be with and have a family with, you know?"

Duhamel also reflected on his failed romance with Fergie at the time. "Ferg and I had a great relationship. I love that girl and I always will. Unfortunately, we didn't work, but I will always have her back and she is the mother of my baby," he shared. "She's awesome. So I'm just trying to find somebody. That's kind of what I'm looking for."

After the Transformers star posted on social media about his betrothal to Mari, the former Black Eyed Peas member wished her ex-husband well. "Congrats!!!" she commented via Instagram, adding six green heart emojis.

Jeremiah Duggar, meanwhile, announced his engagement to Hannah Wissmann in January. The news came three months after the pair revealed their courtship.

"Never been so happy. Never felt so blessed!!" the 19 Kids and Counting alum gushed via Instagram in October 2021. "Getting to know each other has been one of the greatest joys of our lives! We are excited to start sharing our story with all of you and to see what God has in store for our future. #mygirlfriend."

Duggar's famous family congratulated him and his fiancée on their engagement via social media. "Good lookin' couple right there," Jessa Duggar replied.

A source of support. Sophie Turner revealed that she once had a “live-in therapist” to help her through recovery from an eating disorder while speaking the effects of negative social media comments.

“I have a love-hate relationship with social media. I wish I'd never got myself involved with it in the first place,” the Game of Thrones alum, 26, told Elle for their June cover story, which was published on Wednesday, May 4. “I look at the comments on Instagram and think, ‘Oh, f–k. Everyone thinks this about me.’ It would completely consume me.”

Turner then noted that the best advice she ever got about dealing with negative comments came from a mental health professional.

“For a long time, I was quite sick with an eating disorder and I had a companion. I don't know if you know what a companion is? It's a live-in therapist, who would ensure I wasn't doing anything unhealthy with my eating habits,” she explained. “One night, I was playing over and over in my mind a comment I'd seen on Instagram. I was like, ‘I'm so fat, I'm so undesirable,’ and spinning out.'”

The England native continued: ‘She said to me, ‘You know, no one actually cares. I know you think this, but nobody else is thinking it. You're not that important.’ … That was the best thing anyone could have told me.”

Turner previously opened up about the way social media affected her mental health, explaining during an April 2019 appearance on the “Phil in the Blanks” podcast that she began to suffer from depression when she was on Game of Thrones. “The character that I play on my show is called Sansa, and people used to say, ‘Damn, Sansa gained 10 lbs’ or ‘Damn, Sansa needs to lose 10 lbs’ or ‘Sansa got fat.’ … I used to get a lot of comments about my skin and my weight and how I wasn't a good actress," she recalled. "I would just believe it. I would say, 'Yeah, I am spotty. I am fat. I am a bad actress.' I would just believe it. I would get [the costume department] to tighten my corset a lot. I just got very, very self-conscious."

The Staircase actress credits therapy and her now-husband Joe Jonas with helping her heal. “I [sometimes] don't think I love myself at all, but I'm now with someone that makes me realize I do have some redeeming qualities, I suppose," Turner said at the time. “And when someone tells you they love you every day, it makes you really think about why that is and I think that makes you love yourself a bit more. So yeah, I love myself.”

While speaking with Elle, the X-Men: Dark Phoenix star touched on some of the other methods she uses to look after her mental health. “I have noticed that social media makes me incredibly anxious and it's something I try to distance myself. Having it off my phone has been so helpful,” she explained. “Now, if I do have to go on it, it's for a few minutes once or twice a week, rather than hours every day. It's made such a difference.”

She continued: “I still have to do [therapy] every week. … I still have days when I feel depressed or anxious [but] it's manageable now – I have the tools. I know what's good for me and what's not good for me. I know what I have to do to get myself in a good headspace. It's not debilitating – I know how to get myself out of it.”

Selena Gomez Struggles With Being 'Unkind' to Herself, Is Learning Patience

Posted: 04 May 2022 01:45 PM PDT

Starting a dialogue. Selena Gomez has spoken candidly about her struggles with mental health over the years.

The singer first sought treatment in 2014 after she was diagnosed with lupus. She has since attended various voluntary programs to manage anxiety, panic attacks and depression. Nine months after she completed treatment in January 2018, Us Weekly confirmed she was seeking "opened-ended" mental health treatment.

In April 2020, the Getaway star revealed that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. “It doesn’t scare me once I know it,” she told Miley Cyrus in an episode of the latter’s “Bright Minded” Instagram series. “I think people get scared of that, right?”

The Rare Beauty founder has also used her platform to raise awareness about mental health, both by hosting conversations with experts and shedding light on various issues through her projects.

From 2017 to 2020, she served as an executive producer on the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, which sparked many discussions about the struggles contemporary teens and young adults face.

"This is happening every day," Gomez said during an Elvis Duran and the Morning Show interview in 2017, referring to the show’s serious themes. "Whether or not you wanted to see it, that's what's happening. The content is complicated. It's dark and it has moments that are honestly very hard to swallow, and I understood that we were doing something that is difficult.”

During the coronavirus pandemic, which brought mental health to the forefront for people all over the world, the “Bad Liar” songstress continued to speak out about the importance of checking in with your emotions. In October 2020, she hosted an Instagram Live with Dr. Vivek Murthy, President Joe Biden’s surgeon general, to discuss the feelings of loneliness she was experiencing while in lockdown.

"In the beginning I couldn't deal with it that well," she said, discussing the early months of quarantine. "But then I started going into a place where I as writing and being active; it forced me to have that time. I've been able to spend time with those quality people a lot more than I ever have, and I'm spending a lot more time with my family."

Murthy explained that Gomez’s story was a great example of why it’s important to share how you’re feeling. "If you recognize that [almost everyone is struggling in some way], you'll recognize that there's many ways to reach out," he said. "When we serve other people, we shift the focus from ourselves to them in the context of a positive interaction … and we reaffirm to ourselves that we have value to bring to the world."

Trying Her Best
A rep for Gomez confirmed she sought treatment in February 2014. Shortly after, she thanked fans for their support on Instagram: “I’ve done everything I could to the best of my ability. Thank you for the unconditional love and cyber hugs. You inspire me." Allen Berezovsky/WireImage/Getty Images
Giving Into Pressure
The Disney alum gave an inspiring speech at the We Day conference in March 2014. "I'm surrounded by people who are supposed to guide me, and some of them have, and others haven't. They pressure me. There's so much pressure. You gotta be sexy, you gotta be cute, you gotta be nice. You gotta be all these things,” she told the crowd. "They tell me what to wear, how to look, what I should say, how I should be. Until recently, I had given into that pressure. I lost sight of who I was. I listened to opinions of people, and I tried to change who I am because I thought that others would accept me for it." C Flanigan/FilmMagic/Getty Images
Being a Light
After Gomez sent a struggling fan words of encouragement on Instagram, she screenshotted her message and shared it with her millions of followers. "By me following you is not me saying it's ok to think these thoughts. It's not me saying 'hey you said sad things, so I'm going to follow you to make you feel better'. God puts us in situations that are so unexplainably difficult for a reason. There is someone in the world feeling so much, just like you,” she wrote in February 2015. "People everyday feel so many emotions they wish they could turn it off. But that's not why we are here. We are here for relationships, for people just like us who feel worthless. Your purpose is to share, help, encourage. Remember that. Please. Before you think of taking your life, think of all the [lives] you could save. I love you. More importantly there is a God that will love more than I ever could." Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic/Getty Images
Taking Time
In April 2016, the “Same Old Love” songstress explained her decision to go to rehab years earlier. "I got diagnosed with lupus. My mom had a very public miscarriage. So I had to cancel my tour. I needed time to just be OK,” she told GQ. ”It’s really frustrating, because I am 100 percent allowed to have that, but I think people just want to have some sort of — I understand what you’re asking. But I’m just saying, I don’t think it really matters. My past seems to be way more fascinating for people than my future, which bums me out … Why do you care?" Angela Weiss/Getty Images
Feeling the Side Effects
Gomez revealed she was taking a step back from the public eye in August 2016 to cope with the side effects from Lupus. “As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have Lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways. I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of Lupus, which can present their own challenges,” she said in a statement to Us Weekly. “I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off. Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best. I know I am not alone and by sharing this, I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues.” Emma McIntyre/Getty Images
Returning to the Stage
The “Hands to Myself” crooner made her first post-rehab appearance at the American Music Awards in November 2016. “In 2014 this stage was actually the first time I was authentically 100 percent honest with all of you,” a teary Gomez told the audience. “I think it’s safe to say most of you know a lot of my life whether I liked it or not. I had to stop because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside and I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down.” “I don’t want to see your bodies on Instagram. I want to see what’s in here,” Gomez continued while pointing to her heart. “I’m so grateful to be able to share what I love with people that I love. You guys are so damn loyal but if you are broken you do not have to stay broken.”  Barcroft Images/Barcroft Media/Getty Images
Staying Thankful
Gomez shared an emotional message with fans on Thanksgiving Day in 2016, admitting it was her “hardest” but “most rewarding” year yet. “I’ve finally fought the fight of not 'being enough.' I have only wanted to reflect the love you guys have given me for years and show how important it is to take care of YOU,” she wrote. “By grace through faith. Kindness always wins. I love you guys. God bless.”  Kevin Winter/Getty Images
Still Relatable
While promoting season 1 of 13 Reasons Why, Gomez, who served as an executive producer on the series, revealed she related to the story. “I went away for 90 days and I actually met tons of kids in this place [and] we are talking about a lot of the issues that these characters are experiencing, [so] I would say yes,” Gomez said during a panel in February 2017. “I had to deal with it on a different scale. Whether it was kids or just growing up in the biggest high school in the world which was the Disney Channel, it was also adults that had the audacity to kind of tell me how I should live my life. It was very confusing for me. … I had no idea who I was gonna be, what I'm still going to become. It definitely hit home.” She added: “I think this is what they need to see. We are not gonna post things, like, ‘Hey be empowered,' because that's not what they wanna see. Kids don't care. They have to see something that's gonna shake something. I want them to understand it. I would do anything to have a good influence on this generation. It's hard, but I definitely relate to everything going on.” JB Lacroix/WireImage/Getty Images
Life on the Road
Gomez admitted to Vogue in March 2017 that she feels “really lonely” on tour. “My self-esteem was shot. I was depressed, anxious. I started to have panic attacks right before getting on stage, or right after leaving the stage. Basically I felt I wasn’t good enough, wasn’t capable,” she revealed. “I felt I wasn’t giving my fans anything, and they could see it—which, I think, was a complete distortion. I was so used to performing for kids.”  “At concerts I used to make the entire crowd raise up their pinkies and make a pinky promise never to allow anybody to make them feel that they weren’t good enough. Suddenly I have kids smoking and drinking at my shows, people in their 20s, 30s, and I’m looking into their eyes, and I don’t know what to say. I couldn’t say, ‘Everybody, let’s pinky-promise that you’re beautiful!’” Gomez continued. “It doesn’t work that way, and I know it because I’m dealing with the same shit they’re dealing with. What I wanted to say is that life is so stressful, and I get the desire to just escape it. But I wasn’t figuring my own stuff out, so I felt I had no wisdom to share. And so maybe I thought everybody out there was thinking, This is a waste of time.” Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images
Mental Health Exercises
When Gomez moderated a movie screening for Heaven Knows What in August 2017, she revealed she “really like the mental aspect” of the film. “The beginning of the movie struck with me… that’s not really a secret, but, I for sure have talked about that and have done a lot of those exercises.”  Jeff Spicer/Getty Images
An Ongoing Struggle
“Anyone who knows me knows I will always start with my health and my well-being,” she began in her March 2018 Harper’s Bazaar cover story. “I’ve had a lot of issues with depression and anxiety, and I’ve been very vocal about it, but it’s not something I feel I’ll ever overcome. There won’t be a day when I’m like, ‘Here I am in a pretty dress — I won!’ I think it’s a battle I’m gonna have to face for the rest of my life, and I’m OK with that because I know that I’m choosing myself over anything else.” Samir Hussein /WireImage/Getty Images
Taking Care of Herself
“The beauty myth- an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfill society’s impossible definition of flawless beauty,” Gomez wrote on Instagram in March 2018. “I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone. Wind in her sails.” Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images
Proud of Her Progress
After Gomez completed another stint in treatment in December 2018, she broke her silence via Instagram the following January. “It’s been awhile since you have heard from me, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and to thank you for your love and support,” she wrote. “Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth. It’s always those challenges which show you who you are and what you are capable of overcoming. Trust me, it’s not easy, but I am proud of the person I am becoming and look forward to the year ahead. Love you all.” George Pimentel/Getty Images for Sundance Film Festival
Singing Through It
Gomez sang about her mental health battle in a song with Julia Michaels titled “Anxiety,” released in January 2019. “But all my friends they don't know, what it's like, what it's like / They don't understand why, I can't sleep through the night,” she sings. “And I thought that I could take something to fix it / Damn I wish it, I wish it was that simple, ah, ah.” Emma McIntyre/AMA2017/Getty Images for dcp
Coping With Anxiety Attacks
“I feel great, yeah,” she told NPR in January 2020. “I'm on the proper medication that I need to be on, even as far as my mental health. I fully believe in just making sure you check in with your doctors or therapist. [Taking care of mental health — ] that's forever. That's something I will have to continue to work on. Yes, I don't think I just magically feel better. I have days where it is hard for me to get out of bed, or I have major anxiety attacks. All of that still happens.” Global Citizen/Shutterstock
The Right Medication
The “Lose You to Love Me” singer opened up about seeking professional help and treatment during an interview with WSJ. Magazine in January 2020. "I found out I do suffer from mental health issues. And, honestly, that was such a relief," she said. "I realized that there was a way to get help and to find people that you trust. I got on the right medication, and my life has been completely changed.” Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Coming to Terms
In April 2020, Gomez revealed she was bipolar during an appearance on Miley Cyrus’ Instagram Live series, Bright Minded: Live With Miley. “Recently I went to one of the best mental hospitals in the world … And I discussed that after years of going through a lot of different things I realized that I was bipolar,” she explained.  “When I have more information, it actually helps me, it doesn’t scare me once I know it,” the former child actress continued. “When I finally said what I was going to say, I wanted to know everything about it and it took the fear away.” Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Living With Bipolar Disorder During Lockdown
During a virtual WarnerMedia Television Critics Association press tour in August 2020, Gomez spoke about her diagnosis and coping amid the coronavirus pandemic. "It's not easy for anyone to be walking through what we're walking through. It's not normal, and it's affecting people, specifically with mental health, and people who could have never thought about things they're thinking about now. And it's really confusing.” Willy Sanjuan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Finding The Right Help
In March 2021, the 13 Reasons Why producer spoke about when she knew she needed help. “I knew I couldn’t go on unless I learned to listen to my body and mind when I really needed help,” she told Vogue. “And then I start thinking about my personal life, and I’m like, ‘What am I doing with my life?’ and it becomes this spiral.” Matt Baron/Shutterstock
Encouraging Others
In April 2021, the "Lose You to Love Me" songstress announced a new campaign with her Rare Beauty brand "to help support mental health education, empower our community and encourage financial support for more mental health services in educational settings." In an Instagram post about the new initiative, called Mental Health 101, Gomez opened up about her own past struggles with depression, explaining that she wants her experience to remind others coping with mental health issues that they are not alone. "I know firsthand how scary and lonely it can feel to face anxiety and depression by yourself at a young age," she wrote. "If I had learned about my mental health earlier on — been taught about my condition in school that way I was taught about other subjects — my journey could have looked very different. The world needs to know that mental health matters. It's just as important as your physical health, and I wish we could all acknowledge that, not just in words but through our actions." Shutterstock
She's Studied DBT
Gomez candidly spoke about her treatment via a Vogue Australia interview in June 2021. “I’ve studied DBT, which is Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I’ve been to four treatment centers,” she explained. “I think in mental health, I never understood the stigma until I went to my first treatment center because that was years ago. But then there was a photograph that got out, and it’s wild to see how mean they were. It was like: ‘She’s the next this person, she’s the childhood star,’ whatever. And: ‘She’s doing drugs.’ They’re saying all this stuff about me. I’m watching all of that change, slowly but surely, because now, if any media outlet made fun of me, they’re the ones that look like the asshole because we don’t tolerate that anymore. It’s actually crazy that I’m watching it happen, even though I know we have so much more to do. And I have goals. I want to put this as a curriculum into schools. I feel like I practice [DBT] every day … And then I also love being in the studio. Because the first hour I’m in a studio, I just talk. It’s like therapy. You just go in and you share your heart.” Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock
Beauty Standards Took a Toll on Her Wellbeing
In June 2021, the beauty founder spoke with Stellar magazine about how “impossible beauty standards” took a toll on her mental health, which inspired her to launch her own makeup brand. “Society constantly tells us that we’re not enough, so I wanted to start a brand to challenge and eliminate that pressure – to change the conversation,” she said. "My goal with Rare Beauty is to break down these unrealistic standards of beauty. I saw from personal experience how these impossible beauty standards were having such an effect on my mental health and I know a lot of people who felt the same way.” Richard Shotwell/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Pushing Through for Others
“My lupus, my kidney transplant, chemotherapy, having a mental illness, going through very public heartbreaks — these were all things that honestly should have taken me down,” Gomez said in Elle’s first LatinX issue, published in August 2021. “Every time I went through something, I was like, ‘What else? What else am I going to have to deal with?’” The former Disney Channel star explained that she looked inward to get the strength to move forward. “You’re going to help people,” she recalled telling herself. “That’s really what kept me going. There could have been a time when I wasn’t strong enough and would have done something to hurt myself.” Inez & Vinoodh
Tackling the ‘Pressure’
In October 2021, the former child star recalled feeling "an immense amount of pressure" to set a good example for her fans early on in her career. "It was really confusing growing up, and once people created this narrative of my life, I realized I can't be quiet anymore," she told Beauty Inc. of the "unrealistic" expectations she was held to as a young actress and singer. "I have to just address what needs to be addressed, and that's me reclaiming my story, which is, 'OK, yeah, I was definitely going through a hard time, and this is why, and this is what I deal with.'" Launching Official Wondermind
In a November 2021 interview with Entrepreneur magazine, Gomez revealed she teamed up with her mom, Mandy Teefy, and Daniella Pierson to launch the Official Wondermind, a mental fitness company. Teefey struggles with ADHD and anxiety, while Pierson has OCD.  "[The conversation between the three of us] is one of the moments I felt closest to my mom — us coming together to talk about something we each have experienced in our own manner. It was wonderful," Gomez said. "And then to be understood by Daniella was even better." Shutterstock
Learning to Cope
“Sometimes I’m not good at [taking care of my mind], like, it just happened where I’ll wake up and I struggle maybe sometimes just getting out of bed,” Gomez admitted via a December 2021 Instagram video via the official Wondermind page. “What helps me, first and foremost, just picking up the phone and calling someone. But I constantly try to fill myself with knowledge of what it is that I’m feeling and triggers that happen to me.” She added in her message: “I think what really helps me understand myself a bit more is that I can take a step back and think of all the tools that I’ve learned and try to implement them in my everyday life. Also, I suggest working out. I hate working out, it is not fun, but I’ve been doing intense boxing classes recently and it has really helped me get a lot of frustration [and] energy out.” LRNYC/MEGA
Coming A Long Way
“I became aware that my little world is complicated, but the picture is much bigger than the stuff I deal with. I have problems with depression and anxiety, and I found it difficult for me to be me,” Gomez told InStyle in January 2022. “The older I got, the more I evolved and realized that I needed to take control of what I was feeling. I wanted to be able to look in the mirror and feel confident to be who I am. Taking a break from social media was the best decision that I've ever made for my mental health.” She continued at the time: “I'm a big believer in therapy, and I always feel so confident when I'm taking care of myself. If I'm not in the best headspace and my friends invite me out, I won't go. I've lost my sense of FOMO, which I'm proud of. Sometimes I push myself too much, and it catches up to me. But I try to balance out everything as best as I can.” Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock
Advocating for Therapy
“I’m a big advocate for therapy,” Gomez told Glamour UK in February 2022. “I also love to keep sticky notes around my house with positive affirmations. I have a lot of various ones, but ‘I am enough’ is a favorite of mine – I call them ‘Rare Reminders.’ And taking a scrolling break from social media helps!” The “Selfish Love” songstress added: “From the time I can remember, I’ve always felt like I had to be perfect or look a certain way. It took me a long time to realize that I only wanted to be myself – that what made me unique was also what made me beautiful.” GHOST/Shutterstock
Feeling Free
After years of struggling with her mental health, Gomez revealed in April 2022 that she was relieved once she was able to get the treatment she needed. “It was really freeing to have the information [of being diagnosed with bipolar disorder]," she said during an appearance on Good Morning America. "It made me really happy because I started to have a relationship with myself, and I think that’s the best part. Like, I’ve probably been the happiest I’ve ever been." Being able to figure out what she needed in order to take care of herself and her mental health has allowed Gomez to help others. "I can’t believe I am where I am mentally, just because of how I took the necessary steps in order to kind of remove myself from that because it’s just not normal," she continued. "I really want people to be understood and seen and heard. It’s OK to not be OK." Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock
Patience Is a Virtue
The singer kicked off her platform Wondermind's Thanks for Sharing campaign by revealing some of her own struggles in the hopes that more people will speak openly about their mental health. "One thing I'm dealing with right now is being patient with myself," Gomez admitted in a May 2022 video via Twitter. "I tend to be a little unkind to myself, and I gotta work on that. That's something that I do find frustrating and I just need to allow myself to feel my feelings and then let them go." YouTube

Everything Chris Rock Has Said About the Will Smith Oscars Slap Drama

Posted: 04 May 2022 11:00 AM PDT

Offering his thoughts on the matter. After Will Smith made headlines for slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, the comedian has found his own way to address the drama.

During the 94th annual Academy Awards, Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith‘s shaved head when he suggested she should be cast in G.I. Jane 2. After Pinkett Smith, who has alopecia, rolled her eyes at the comment, her husband approached the stage and slapped the Saturday Night Live alum.

"Will Smith just smacked the s—t out of me," Rock said in uncensored footage that later circulated online. As he returned to his seat, the King Richard star yelled back at the South Carolina native to "keep my wife's name out your f—king mouth.”

At the time, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Rock and Smith did not interact privately after the incident. "Chris is focusing on his tour," the insider said in late March. "He's moving on and is looking forward to his upcoming gigs."

During a comedy show that same month, Rock confirmed that he hasn’t heard from Smith. "I haven't talked to anyone despite what you may have heard," the Grown Ups actor told the audience, according to multiple outlets.

The Hitch actor, for his part, issued a public apology for his “unacceptable and inexcusable” actions one day after the awards show. “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness,” he wrote via Instagram.

Smith added: “I would also like to apologize to The Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.”

Pinkett Smith, for her part, seemingly responded to the drama when she shared an Instagram quote, which read, “This is a season for healing and I’m here for it.”

Amid the controversy, Smith announced his decision to resign from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. “My actions at the 94th Academy Awards presentation were shocking, painful, and inexcusable,” he said in a statement in April, according to Variety. “The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home. I betrayed the trust of the Academy.”

The organization conducted their own investigation into the altercation which concluded with them banning Smith from all Oscars events for 10 years as punishment.

“The 94th Oscars were meant to be a celebration of the many individuals in our community who did incredible work this past year; however, those moments were overshadowed by the unacceptable and harmful behavior we saw Mr. Smith exhibit on stage," Academy President David Rubin and CEO Dawn Hudson stated in a letter after the board’s meeting. "During our telecast, we did not adequately address the situation in the room. For this, we are sorry. This was an opportunity for us to set an example for our guests, viewers and our Academy family around the world, and we fell short — unprepared for the unprecedented.”

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum reacted to the news, telling Page Six, "I accept and respect the Academy's decision.”

Finding Humor in the Situation
According to a source, Rock sarcastically said that "he's had an interesting week" during an appearance in Atlantic City, New Jersey on April 2. “Everyone laughed because they knew what he was referring to, of course," the insider shared with Us, noting that the performer said he was “still processing” recent events. “He made a joke about how Atlantic City is too close to Philly for him to get into it. The general vibe of the comment was that Atlantic City could be hostile territory because it's so close to Philly. It was said in a casual joking way and everyone laughed.” Chris Pizzello/Invision/AP/Shutterstock
Updating His Material
During a surprise appearance at a New York comedy club, Rock addressed the situation after the audience brought the topic up. "He got on stage and said, ‘Lower your expectations. I’m not going to address that s–t,'” an eyewitness told Page Six about the April 6 show, noting that the crowd "was going wild" for the comedian. Paul Bergen/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock
Choosing His Words Wisely
On April 10, Rock reflected on his state of mind following the drama. “Life is good. I got my hearing back," he joked at a comedy show in Palm Springs, California, according to the Desert Sun newspaper. “I'm OK, I have a whole show and I'm not talking about that until I get paid." Ray J Shares Kim's Alleged DMs About Sex Tape, 'Kardashians' Story Line

Posted: 04 May 2022 10:55 AM PDT

Sharing evidence? Ray J claimed that Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner orchestrated the release of the sex tape, and he shared the alleged direct messages that show him confronting the KKW Beauty founder after The Kardashians resurfaced the drama.

Kardashian-Jenner Family's Biggest Controversies and Scandals

The Love & Hip Hop Hollywood alum, 41, felt that the Kardashian-Jenner family’s new reality show was portraying him as a villain. The Hulu series covered the threat of a second sex tape, so he came forward with what he says is the truth.

“I have never leaked a sex tape in my life. It's always been a deal and a partnership between Kris Jenner and Kim and me and we've always been partners since the beginning of this thing,” he told the Daily Mail in an interview published Wednesday, May 4.

Ray J, who dated the Selfish author from 2003 to 2006, further alleged that Kardashian, 41, was always in possession of the footage — and he once jokingly suggested they release their sex tape. "That's how it all came about,” he claimed. “Once I pitched the idea to her, just playing around a little bit, that's when she jumped on the idea, talked to her mom and it was out of my hands from there."

In screenshots of alleged Instagram direct messages between himself and the Skims founder, the performer said he has “been nothing but a team player” and that there was “an agreement,” but he couldn’t support the way The Kardashians was handling the new sex tape storyline.

In September 2021, Ray J's former manager Wack 100 claimed that he had more footage in his possession but would be willing to hand it over to Ray J or Kanye West — and the April 2022 episodes showed Kardashian panicking about a potential new release after one of her children saw ad on Roblox supposedly advertising unseen clips.

“Now I realize this is another promo stunt for you — unless you reach out to me soon I’m gonna take it to the level where it shows all of what we did,” Ray J wrote, per the screenshots. “All of the meetings and convos about the plan — date and times of our meetings and the whole lie you and Kris planned this since the beginning.

“This is not a threat — You’ve taken this this too far — You know what we did!” he continued. “Your mom controlled this whole sex tape deal with [redacted] and [redacted] — it was her idea to put out the [tape].”

The “Sexy Can I” singer added: “I know how promo goes and I get it 100% — but it’s got out of control with this new story and my team is on my head thinking it’s true.”

Ray J particularly took issue with Kardashian jokingly saying she wasn’t sure what else could be on a second tape and joking that perhaps a new tape was made while she was sleeping. “Me sticking a dildo in your [censored] while you sleep is pretty out of control! Lol — wouldn’t you wake up if you felt that in your butt?” he asked. “But seriously it makes me look like a rapist and dirty perv and I’m catching a lot of slack from it.”

He explained that he was reaching out because he doesn’t want his children to think poorly of him. Ray J shares daughter Melody, 3, and son Epik, 2, with Princess Love. “Please help me stay in a positive light and I want my kids to be proud of me. They are 3 and 2 years old. They are innocent,” he said. “Please don’t make their dad look like a loser when u know me more.”

According to the images of his alleged exchange with Kardashian, the Skims founder doesn’t deny any of his claims that they planned the sex tape leak. She simply says in the purported DMs that The Kardashians showed her real reaction to the threat from the record executive. She added that her comment about a sex toy “was clearly a sarcastic joke and I was laughing when I said it.”

She also allegedly claimed that her “burn them to the ground comment” was actually “a generalization to anyone threatening to hold this over my head 20 years later.”

The reality TV star — who shares children North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4 and Psalm, 2, with West, 44 — agreed that they both want to “move on” from the sex tape.

“I completely understand — and I appreciate hearing this from you,” she appears to have written. “I want you to know that I wish nothing but the best for you. This has hurt us both in so many ways and I know we are aligned in wanting to move forward in our lives and not continue to be defined by something we did 20 years ago. Thank you for reaching out and my hope is that after next week when everyone sees that the computer was given back to Kanye that this story will be dead and done with.”

She allegedly added, “I’m sorry to hear how this has affected you — it wasn’t my intention.”

Us Weekly has reached out to reps for Kardashian and Jenner for comment.

Kaley Cuoco’s Dating History: Johnny Galecki, Karl Cook and More

Posted: 04 May 2022 10:51 AM PDT

Looking for The One. From her costar romance with Johnny Galecki to her marriages to Ryan Sweeting and Karl Cook, Kaley Cuoco's love life has been making headlines for years.

The actress walked down the aisle for the first time in 2013, when she wed Sweeting. After 21 months of marriage, however, Cuoco announced their split in 2015.

"I honestly thought I wouldn't get married again. My ex ruined that word for me," she candidly told Cosmopolitan in 2018. "I married someone the first time who completely changed. The person I ended up with was not the person I originally met. And that wasn't my fault — that was his."

Following her whirlwind marriage and divorce (and a brief romance with Henry Cavill), the Big Bang Theory star started seeing Cook, a fellow horse lover and equestrian.

"I couldn't be happier. I feel very, very lucky that I found someone like him," the 8 Simple Rules alum gushed exclusively to Us Weekly in 2017. "I like to torture him and he doesn't get mad at me. He just let's me do it! I'm just constantly trying to rib him. He's got such a great sense of humor. I like it when I'm bugging him, bugging him and then I finally get that laugh which just kills me. He's just … I don't know.”

She added: “He's a real person and I think the big deal was knowing how much he loves dogs and horses — that's always on my checklist. 'Must love dogs' is number one and he checked that off quite quickly and I fell very hard."

Cuoco revealed at the time that the duo bonded in the kitchen. "We really like cooking. I love to cook. My boyfriends cooks too and he's an amazing, amazing cook, so we love to go to the grocery store," she told Us. "I'm one of those weirdos that actually likes to buy my own ingredients. I like to go to the store, I like to pick it out, so I think cooking is probably one of my favorites."

After he popped the question in December 2017, Cuoco and Cook exchanged vows in June 2018. While they were man and wife, the pair revealed they didn't live together as of 2019.

"We are building our dream house. We are eventually going to be under the same roof forever," she told E! News at the time. "We have a very unconventional marriage, you know, we have different locations that we are at a lot. We are not together every single day, and I think personally, it's important. It works well for us."

The following year, the coronavirus pandemic "forced" the twosome to move in together, Cuoco told Jimmy Kimmel in 2020. "It's been great for our relationship. We like each other, we've realized, which is even better," she said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! at the time.

Three years into their marriage, however, the couple called it quits.

"Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions," the Flight Attendant star and Cook said in a joint statement in September 2021. "We have both shared so much of our journey publicly so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together. There is no anger or animosity, quite the contrary."

Comparing experiences? After Dave Chappelle was attacked on stage during a stand-up set at the Hollywood Bowl, fellow comedian Chris Rock tried to lighten the mood with some personal humor.

“Was that Will Smith?” Rock, 57, joked in a TikTok clip from the Netflix Is a Joke festival in Los Angeles on Tuesday, May 2. Although the event was considered a “phone-free experience,” some footage surfaced online after Chappelle, 48, was tackled by a person during his performance.

Rock was referring to an incident at the 2022 Oscars when Smith, 53, slapped him amid the live awards show. During the 94th annual Academy Awards, the Madagascar actor made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith‘s shaved head when he suggested she should be cast in G.I. Jane 2. After Pinkett Smith, 50, who has alopecia, rolled her eyes at the comment, her husband shocked the audience with his response.

"Will Smith just smacked the s—t out of me," the South Carolina native said in uncensored footage that later circulated online in March. As he returned to his seat, the King Richard star yelled back at Rock to "keep my wife's name out your f—king mouth.”

At the time, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Rock and Smith did not interact off stage after the altercation. "Chris is focusing on his tour," the insider shared. "He's moving on and is looking forward to his upcoming gigs."

That same month, Rock confirmed that he didn’t have any contact with the Philadelphia native. "I haven't talked to anyone despite what you may have heard," the Grown Ups actor told the audience at a stand-up show, according to multiple outlets.

One day after the Oscars, Smith issued a public apology to Rock for his “unacceptable and inexcusable” actions. “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. The Hitch actor added: “I would also like to apologize to The Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences later confirmed that Smith would be banned from all Oscars events for 10 years following his resignation. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum responded to his punishment, saying in a statement to Page Six in April, “I accept and respect the Academy's decision.”

Pinkett Smith recently hinted that the topic will be addressed during season 5 of her Facebook series. “Considering all that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family has been focusing on deep healing. Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls,” a statement from the Red Table Talk host read late last month.

The message continued: “Until then… the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring and healing testimonies like that of our incredibly impressive first guest. Thanks for joining us, Jada.”

The comedy scene continued to make headlines when Chappelle was knocked to the ground before attendees including Rock and Jamie Foxx stepped in to stop the man. Authorities later identified the suspect as Isaiah Lee, who was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on $30,000 bail. Lee, 23, who was armed with a replica gun during the incident, was detained and later taken to a nearby hospital to treat “superficial injuries.”

Who Is Kaley Cuoco's BF Tom Pelphrey? What to Know About the 'Ozark' Star

Posted: 04 May 2022 10:48 AM PDT

New love! Less than one year after Kaley Cuoco and estranged husband Karl Cook announced their split, she moved on with fellow actor Tom Pelphrey.

"Life lately," the Flight Attendant star, 36, captioned an Instagram gallery on Tuesday, May 3, including multiple selfies with the Ozark actor, 39. "The sun breaks through the clouds, rays of gold slipping into my eyes and heart, rays of yellow to break the grey."

Pelphrey, for his part, acknowledged his budding connection with the Big Bang Theory alum via an Instagram tribute of his own. He wrote, in part, on Tuesday, "Nothing can save you. And you stand in the moonlight and a sweetness comes off the top of the trees, and the fence around the yard seals you off from the dark and you can't breathe. It is all so familiar and possible. It is too simple that there is this much good in the world and you don't know how to have it."

The New Jersey native concluded his post: "And it makes you wonder when it was you lost your place. Then you catch a breeze, so warm and ripe, it makes you hope that someone will come who also cannot save you, but who will think you are worth saving."

Pelphrey, who was previously linked to Jaimie Alexander, is also a successful actor in his own right. The Broadway alum, who notably plays Wendy's brother Ben Davis on Ozarkhas landed roles in the likes of Mank, Outer Range, Iron Fist and Banshee.

"Everybody was extremely, extremely kind and welcoming, and within a few weeks, I felt like I had been there with them from the beginning," he told Collider in April 2020 of joining the show, which aired its fourth and final season earlier this month. "That set, the Ozark set, is a very special place, and I think that was curated on purpose by Jason Bateman and Chris Mundy and certainly Laura Linney. The energy on that set is very calm, very respectful, extremely supportive of everyone, and all of the crew feels very equal and safe."

He added: "So to be a new person walking into what could’ve been an intimidating environment never felt like that. It very much felt like home. Everyone was very welcoming, including the crew, and I’ve been in situations where it did not feel like that. But with Ozark, it was very welcoming, which goes a long way towards freeing you up to do your best work."

Cuoco's relationship with the former soap star marks her first romance since her split from the 31-year-old equestrian. (The California native filed for divorce in September 2021 after three years of marriage.)

"I believe in love because I've had incredible relationships. I know that they're out there. I like being someone's partner and having that companionship," the 8 Simple Rules alum told Glamour last month, admitting she would not get married for a third time after her previous nuptials and divorces with both Cook and Ryan Sweeting. "We've all been there where you think, 'Oh, my God, I'm never going to meet someone else.' And you do. There are great people that come into your life and they leave your life. And there are reasons for all of it."

“My feeling is some people never get anything even close to that," Pelphrey told Esquire earlier this month of his New York Giants fandom. “It's like, you can't complain. For the rest of your life, you can't complain. I can bitch about the Giants. But most people never get better.” Stephen Greathouse/Shutterstock
3. High School Drama Inspired His Acting Career
“It was really having a very special man who was my teacher in high school [that got me into acting],” he told Collider in April 2020. “Growing up, I played sports and I was terrible at all of them. I wanted to try football but I had to wait for high school, and I did that for a few weeks and then I got hurt, so someone said I should audition for the play, which I did, but I didn't think I could do well. And anyway, I got a little role and I met this amazing man named Steve Kazakoff.” The Iron Fist alum continued: “He was an incredible man, he was disciplined, he was scarier than the football coaches, he was very strict, and it made it feel important, what we were doing, something that perhaps, in different circumstances, maybe I wouldn't have taken it seriously, He made it very serious and I think I really responded to that, and I responded to the discipline, and I think having him as a teacher kind of shaped the rest of my life.” Stephen Lovekin/Shutterstock

Bachelorette's Becca Kufrin: Thomas Jacobs ‘Knows’ My Proposal Conditions

Posted: 04 May 2022 10:45 AM PDT

Third time’s a charm! Becca Kufrin found love with Thomas Jacobs after deciding to give romance on reality TV another shot.

The former Bachelorette, who was previously engaged to Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Garrett Yrigoyen, returned to Bachelor Nation during season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise, which premiered in August 2021.

Despite being a little gun shy at the thought of falling in love on a reality show following two failed engagements, Kufrin arrived on the beach five days into filming. While it wasn't love at first sight, she eventually fell for Jacobs, who fans met during season 17 of The Bachelorette earlier that year.

"We talked for maybe five minutes and at the end of the conversation he said something along the lines of … he called me a declined credit card," the Bourdon founder recalled during an October 2021 appearance on the "Talking It Out With Bachelor Nation" podcast of meeting Jacobs for the first time. "He was, like, trying to flirt and be kind of smooth and funny and it just came out wrong."

The pair were able to overcome their awkward first encounter and form a strong relationship while filming in Mexico. After a brief breakup during the show's finale, the two made up off camera and started dating outside of the spotlight.

"We came back [home] and had to explore that on our own away from the cameras but in that moment [on the beach during the finale], I think that was game-changing for me," Kufrin explained. "Because I have really never had somebody fight, I would say, like, tooth and nail to want to keep a relationship with me."

The "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast cohost later revealed that she called her mom shortly after connecting with the California native and told her how hard she fell for Jacobs.

"I was like, 'Mom, I think I want to marry this guy,'" she told listeners during her joint podcast interview in October 2021. "It's the first time I've ever actually said that out loud."

Jacobs, for his part, said he has asked Kufrin in "multiple text messages" about the type of ring she would want when he proposes. "It's something we’ve talked about," he said at the time. "I mean, I don’t want to spend my life with anybody else."

The lovebirds didn't give an exact date as to when they rekindled their romance after leaving Mexico, but both stars confirmed they were back on after the show's October 2021 finale aired.

"I feel safe with you. As if nothing could ever go terribly wrong," the real estate broker wrote via Instagram. "Thank you for being someone who I can put my trust in, someone who would never hurt me, someone who would never push 'us' away."

Fans met Kufrin on season 22 of The Bachelor. During the season finale, Luyendyk Jr. proposed to the former public relations specialist, but later called off the engagement and moved on with runner-up Lauren Burnham. The race car driver married Burnham in 2019 and they have since welcomed daughter Alessi and twins Senna and Lux. Kufrin, for her part, became the Bachelorette on season 14, which premiered in May 2018. She got engaged to Yrigoyen during the finale but confirmed in September 2020 that they split. Jacobs joined Bachelor Nation during season 17 of The Bachelorette. He was painted as a villain by the men in the house and cut by Katie Thurston for allegedly being there for “the wrong reasons.” Kufrin, however, didn’t know much about the San Diego, California, resident before meeting him on Bachelor in Paradise. “I had only seen, I think, the first two episodes of Katie’s season — it was before things got really bad for him,” she explained during an October 2021 appearance on the “Talking It Out With Bachelor Nation” podcast. “It was kind of like this weird mind [f—k] if you will because I was getting to know him for him on that beach and seeing how he interacted with everyone and seeing how everyone got along really well. And then when I would watch the show, I’d be like, ‘This isn't what I'm seeing, what's going on here?’ It was really, it was, like, this weird warp in my mind.” ABC/Craig Sjodin

The former college athlete popped up during the second episode of Bachelor in Paradise season 7, which premiered in August 2021, but filmed earlier in the summer. Despite having serious chemistry during BiP, Kufrin broke up with her love during the show’s finale, which aired in October. At the time, Kufrin told Jacobs that she had doubts about his sincerity. “I feel like you’re so good at being supportive and positive and surprising me in all of the best ways, but I feel like sometimes it’s too good to be true and that scares me,” she said. “I’ve been here twice now before, and I couldn’t leave here and feel OK about leaving with somebody that I don’t 100 percent fully know.” Jacobs tried to reassure her that he was all in, saying, “Everything inside of me screams that I’m falling in love with you,” to which Kufrin replied, “But I haven’t seen any of that.” After showing their breakup on TV, ABC announced that the twosome had since gotten back together. “They are happy and in love,” the title card read at the end of the episode. “We chatted until, like, three or four in the morning some nights and just talked about any and everything,” Kufrin said during an October 2021 appearance on the “Talking It Out With Bachelor Nation” podcast of the couple’s off-camera reunion. “The second I saw him — because I flew back to L.A. and then drove down to San Diego — I think right away he picked me up and kissed me and then we just had unlimited time to explore what this could be.” ABC/Craig Sjodin

“You know what they say … Third time’s a charm,” the B the Label designer captioned a video montage of her sweetest moments with Jacobs, confirming they are still dating after briefly calling it quits on the BiP finale. “I’m sorry for breaking up with you on national television, but I’ll take every day to make it up to you, Tommy. After confessing that she wants to "spend my life with" Thomas during a May 2022 episode of "Bachelor Happy Hour," Becca revealed that she has given her boyfriend some conditions about a potential proposal. "He knows this, he needs to ask for my mother's blessing. He can't get down on knee until that happens," she told cohost Michelle Young. "I've already done two very public engagements. I do not like that and I do not want that again, [and] he's very well aware [of that]. For me, I've been there done that." She continued: "I'm at the point where ... I want to be with him, I don't need anything big, extravagant, public in any way. I just want it to be us. He knows that. I honestly didn't need to tell him that, he just knew from everything we've talked about, which is really nice." Courtesy of Becca Kufrin/Instagram

Michael B. Jordan Honors Lori Harvey’s Met Gala Debut: You ‘Manifested’ It

Posted: 04 May 2022 10:41 AM PDT

Feeling the love. Ever since Michael B. Jordan and Lori Harvey confirmed their relationship via Instagram, the pair has consistently professed their love for one another.

The model confirmed her relationship with the Black Panther actor in January 2021 with a pair of tagged photos on Instagram. At the time, the Friday Night Lights alum posted dark and grainy photos with Harvey that looked as if they were about to kiss. The Tennessee native also posted snaps of her new boyfriend at the same location with an emoji heart caption.

The couple first sparked romance rumors after they were spotted at the Atlanta and Salt Lake City airports together in late 2020.

Since becoming an official couple, Jordan and Harvey have continued to post romantic and steamy snaps together yet they do prefer keeping the majority of their personal lives private.

"I think we're both very private people naturally. So we just decide, if we take a picture or whatever it is, do you want to post this? Do we not?" the beauty entrepreneur told Bustle in June 2021. "We know there are people that love and support us and want to see us. So [we want to] give just enough, but keep the majority of it just for us. We're trying to find a balance."

Harvey dished in the interview that she met her current boyfriend a "few years ago" through mutual friends. "I think we met out, just in passing,” she added, noting that she remembered thinking he was "cute" and "super humble.”

The model is the adopted stepdaughter of Steve Harvey, and her famous family approves of the Creed II star as a boyfriend. "First of all, let's be clear about something," the Family Feud host told Jimmy Kimmel in February 2021. "He is a nice guy. I like him, I'm pulling for him. He's a great guy. I met his father and everything, but that was a lot."

Before the couple got together, the former competitive horseback rider was previously linked to Sean "Diddy" Combs and his son Justin, race car driver Lewis Hamilton, rapper Trey Songz and musician Future. Meanwhile, the Parenthood alum has previously been linked to model Cindy Bruna, actress Kiki Layne and YouTuber Catherine Paiz. Rumors also swirled that he dated his Black Panther costar Lupita Nyong'o in 2018, but he revealed they were just friends.

Harvey highlighted how her boyfriend was "so sweet, very attentive" when it comes to making her happy. "He listens to me and the things that I say that I want and he really makes an effort. Valentine's Day, birthdays, all that, but it's the little things, the everyday things that I think really is what makes him special, like he just listens to me when I talk," she noted. "Even the other day, I just been saying I really just wanted to go to a farmer's market, so he called me one Sunday morning and was like, 'What are you doing, I'm going to come pick you up' and he took me an hour away to this really cute farmer's market and we had the best day. "And he's — I mean, like, it threw me off at first, because he was so kind. You know, I figure, 'OK, this is the game right?' I wanted to take that away and give this the best chance it had, in this weird world that we live in, to be somewhat normal,” he told the outlet. “I think it’s just the timing of everything. "I'm slowly dragging my husband back [to England]," the 26-year-old actress told Elle UK in an interview published on Tuesday, May 3. "I really love living in America but, for my mental health, I have to be around my friends and my family."

The Game of Thrones alum — who shares 21-month-old daughter Willa with the 32-year-old Jonas Brothers singer — noted that she would "love" her little one to "get the education and school life that I was so lucky to have" back in Chesterton, Warwickshire, England.

"I miss England so much. The people, the attitude, everything," the Dark Phoenix star, who is pregnant with her second child, confessed. “England would ideally be the final destination, but [Joe] might take quite a bit of convincing!"

For now, Turner has focused on bringing her hometown into her daily life in Miami by stocking her house with delicacies from the U.K.

"I buy stuff from the British Marketplace. In the States, the chocolate ain't good, the crisps ain't good," she said. "It's not the same. I need my Bisto gravy — all the good s–t!"

The Survive actress married the boy bander in Las Vegas in May 2019. The pair had a second wedding one month later in Paris with more friends and family. Since welcoming their daughter in July 2020, the couple have kept a lot of their personal life private, which according to Turner was the plan.

“I’m very protective of the life we’ve built,” she said of her and Jonas' life in Miami. "We're very lucky to live in Miami. We have good weather and live by the water. We try to keep it as chill as possible and just cherish those times, because we don't get them very often."

Us confirmed in March that the twosome are expecting baby No. 2, with a source saying the little one is due "in the middle of summer."

Despite being pregnant and working on her newest project, The Staircase, Turner has managed to keep up a work-life balance — including recently picking up her family and moving to Atlanta for nine months to film.

"It's difficult because I'm someone who doesn't like change. I like consistency and, with the job I have, it's not attainable," Turner explained. "So, I move everything — my daughter, my entire house! There is no more staying in hotel rooms. We get a house and commit to it."

The Barely Lethal actress added: "I couldn't not go home to my daughter at the end of the day. Joe's job is bouncing around from city to city every night. I have a longer amount of time in one place, so it makes sense for me to have her with me."

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner: A Timeline of Their Romance

Posted: 04 May 2022 10:35 AM PDT

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner secretly married on May 1, 2019, after attending the 2019 Billboard Music Awards together!

The bride and groom walked down the aisle at a Las Vegas wedding chapel while country duo Dan + Shay performed their song "Speechless." Diplo documented the nuptials on Instagram Live while Joe's brothers Kevin and Nick Jonas stood near the altar, where an Elvis Presley impersonator officiated the ceremony.

The Jonas Brothers member and the Game of Thrones alum held a second wedding in Sarrians, France, in June 2019. The ceremony was attended by Maisie Williams, Wilmer Valderrama and more.

Jonas proposed to Turner in October 2017. She posted a photo on Instagram at the time showing off her pear-shaped diamond engagement ring, writing, "I said yes." He shared the same image, echoing, "She said yes."

"They are madly in love. She's young but mature and comes from a small English town, so it's not that unusual," a source exclusively told Us Weekly. "They are really good together and his friends and family love her and vice versa."

As Us previously reported, the couple’s relationship began to heat up around the 2016 holiday season, when a source said the actress and DNCE frontman would be "spending part of Thanksgiving weekend together." A second insider told Us at the time, "Joe really likes her. She’s definitely different than the other girls he has dated." (Jonas previously dated Demi Lovato, Camilla Belle, Ashley Greene, Taylor Swift and Gigi Hadid, while Turner had been linked to James McVey, Tye Sheridan and Thomas Mann.)

The couple's relationship quickly heated up. They were seen together at a Kings of Leon concert in the Netherlands in November 2016 before being spotted leaving a NYC hotel.

They confirmed their relationship on Instagram in early 2017 and made their debut at HBO's Golden Globes afterparty that January, where they were spotted making out.

Turner actress revealed in July 2017 that she is "very happy" with Jonas, but expressed her frustration that there was a downside to their relationship: a lack of privacy. “You do feel like you’re living in a fishbowl," she told Marie Claire in an interview.

In February 2020, Us confirmed that the lovebirds were expecting their first child together. Turner gave birth to their daughter, Willa, five months later.

Dave Chappelle Attacker Identified, Bail Set for $30K: Everything to Know

Posted: 04 May 2022 10:29 AM PDT

After Dave Chappelle was knocked to the ground during his Netflix Is a Joke festival set, his attacker has since been identified and arrested.

Us Weekly confirmed on Wednesday, May 4, that Isaiah Lee was taken into the custody of the Los Angeles Police Department hours earlier on an assault with a deadly weapon charge after he lunged at the comedian the night before. Lee, 23, is being held on a $30,000 bail.

The Chappelle's Show alum, 48, was performing at the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday, May 3, when Lee ran from his spot in the crowd up on the stage. According to social media footage from the event, Chappelle appeared to have been pushed onto the ground. While Lee attempted to flee the stage several moments later, he was detained by security guards and the You've Got Mail actor's team.

Chappelle was tapped to headline a "Dave Chappelle and Friends" special earlier this month as part of the Netflix Is a Joke festival. Per a description on the event website, it was meant to be a "phone-free experience." While guests remained in possession of their smartphones, devices were to be secured in individual, sealed pouches provided by the venue for the duration of the show.

The A Star Is Born actor's set comes nearly one year after he caught flak for making controversial jokes in his The Closer special for Netflix. Many believed his remarks were transphobic, which lead several employees of the streaming platform to stage a walkout in October 2021.

"When we think about this challenge we have to entertain the world," Netflix's CEO Ted Sarandos told The Hollywood Reporter at the time, defending the decision to air the special. "Part of that challenge means that you've got audiences with various taste, various sensibilities, various beliefs. You really can't please everybody or the content would be pretty dull."

During his Tuesday set, Chappelle allegedly referred to Lee as a "trans man," according to multiple reports, shortly after Lee was removed from the venue. The Hollywood Bowl performance also included several famous faces in the audience. Both Jamie Foxx and Chris Rock — the latter of whom made headlines two months prior when he was slapped by Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars — were spotted at the show.

The South Carolina native, 57, took the stage shortly after the incident and joked, "Was that Will Smith?" (While Rock presented the Best Documentary Feature trophy at the Academy Awards in March, he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith. As a result, the King Richard star walked on stage and slapped him before apologizing one day later.)

Both Rock and the Ray star, 54, shared their support for Chappelle during the show.

"I thought that was part of the show, I didn't know what the f–k [happened]," Foxx said during the curtain call according to Twitter footage. "Listen, I just want to say, this man is an absolute genius. We've got to make sure we protect him at all times. For every comedian who comes out here, this means everything. You're a genius. You're a legend, I enjoyed myself thoroughly, and we're not going to let nothing happen to you."

Gomez, 29, joked about her relationship status in a TikTok video uploaded on Monday, May 2. "No I'm fine," the "Bad Liar" singer says to the camera. "I'm totally fine being single. It's a real thing. It's fine."

As the clip continues, the camera pans over to her group of friends who are paired off and cuddling. The Wizards of Waverly Place alum zooms in on the couples and then puts the camera back on herself. She stares off into the distance looking not so "fine" as her friends giggle in the background.

The Only Murders in the Building actress previously dated Justin Bieber on and off from 2010 to 2018 and sparked a romance with The Weeknd for several months in 2017. More recently, rumors have swirled that the "Lose You to Love Me" singer might be in a relationship with Captain America star Chris Evans. The pair were spotted leaving the same studio in October 2021 and were photographed at the same restaurant a week later.

Gomez has been candid about her dating woes over the years. In 2017, the Spring Breakers actress opened up to Billboard about her split from the 32-year-old "Blinding Lights" artist.

"Something that I'm really proud of is that there's such a true friendship [between us]," she said at the time. "I truly have never experienced anything like that in my life. We ended it as best friends and it was genuinely about encouraging and caring [for each other] and that was pretty remarkable for me."

By contrast, in a 2020 NPR interview, Gomez alleged that she experienced emotional abuse during her relationship with Bieber, 28, who wed Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin) the same year he and Gomez called it quits for good. "It's dangerous to stay in a victim mentality," she told the outlet. "And I'm not being disrespectful, I do feel I was a victim to certain abuse."

Gomez may not be smitten by a new suitor as of yet, but she's been keeping busy. Her HBO Max cooking show, SELENA + CHEF, has been renewed for a fourth season 2 of HULU's Only Murders in the Building will premiere this summer.
