Country singer Drake White and his wife Alex, have confirmed that their "precious" daughter, Della Elizabeth, was born at 29 weeks, passed away shortly after birth on Aug. 31
They shared an Instagram post on Sunday, Sept. 7, saying that Della "went peacefully to be with Jesus," adding that they were "so thankful for the holy moments God gave us with her"

Country singer Drake White and his wife Alex, are mourning the death of their baby daughter.
On Sunday, Aug. 7, Alex revealed that their baby, whom they named Della Elizabeth White, had died minutes after being born at 29 weeks, seven days ago.
"On Sunday, August 31st our precious daughter, Della Elizabeth White, went peacefully to be with Jesus. We are so thankful for the holy moments God gave us with her," Alex captioned an Instagram post, sharing an image of the couple cradling their baby girl.

Alex continued, "The Lord has been so near and close to us during this difficult time. He has held us up and sustained us through it all."
"We are heartbroken and soul tired, but we know we will get through this difficult time with the strength, peace, and joy that only our Heavenly Father can provide. May Della be held in the arms of Jesus until we see her again someday," she added, before sharing two Psalms — 34:18 and 31:10, 14-15.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. -Psalm 34:18," Alex wrote.
"I am dying from my grief; my years are shortened by sadness. Misery has drained my strength; I am wasting away from within. But I am trusting you, O Lord, saying, 'You are my God!' My future is in your hands. -Psalm 31:10, 14-15," she shared.
Alex confirmed their daughter had been born at 8:52 a.m. local time on Aug. 31, before she "peacefully" died at 9:12 a.m. She weighed 3 lbs, 3.5 oz, and was 13.5 inches when she was born.
Drake and Alex, whose rep confirmed to PEOPLE in May that they were expecting their second child together, are also parents to 2-year-old son William Hawk.

Alex previously told PEOPLE while confirming their pregnancy, "We were able to conceive through IVF and had our frozen embryo transfer in March. We found out we were pregnant 10 days later and are due in November."

Before welcoming William, the couple endured a six-year-long road to parenthood that included health issues for each of them in addition to their fertility struggles.
"We've been through so much," Drake told PEOPLE of the experience in September 2022. "We've been through so much, from my having a stroke on stage to Alex being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and having an autoimmune disorder. And then this was just something else that tested our faith and tested our strength."
The musician said at the time that he hoped to "encourage married couples, individuals in general, to lean on your community and others that are going through it by sharing his story.
