**This article contains spoilers about the first nine episodes of *Love Is Blind* season 9.****

Remember when *Love Is Blind *season 9 couple Anton Yarosh and Ali Lima disagreed over how much money he should have spent on her engagement ring? He said he spent $5,000 on the bling, and she thought he should have bought a $10,000 ring instead. Well, it turns out that he didn't spend any money at all.

Because *Love Is Blind* actually pays for all the engagement rings, and the cast members receive them as a gift from the show.

"We supply them with the rings, and at that point, those rings are theirs," *Love Is Blind* creator Chris Coelen tells **. "They never have to give them back if things don't work out. They're their rings. And if they want to say that they paid for them, then that's up to them. They can say whatever they want."

The showrunner says that all the rings have different prices, but "it's generally in that $3,500 to $5,000 range ... with some variations" — so Ali's dream of a $10,000 ring isn't impossible.

"If they want to upgrade their rings, they're welcome to do that," Coelen adds. "We have nothing to do with that. We give them the rings, they do what they want."

There's been a lot of drama surrounding the engagement rings this season. Before she broke up with him, "Sparkle Megan" Walerius was told by her pod ex Mike Brockway that he picked out a ring with the diamond shape she preferred, which was intended to be a dig at her fiancé Jordan Keltner, who claimed the type of ring she wanted wasn't an option.

Kacie says she wasn't invited to 'Love Is Blind' episode 9 reunion party: 'I actually reached out'

"They are involved with choosing the rings, but we give them a selection, we pay for the rings, and they pick something out that they feel like makes sense for them," Coelen says. "How they decide to talk about that is up to them. There are no rules. We're documenting these people's lives and we want to have them live those lives as authentically as they can because they're making decisions that are very real and life-changing about whether or not they want to get engaged and get married and the love that comes with all of that. How they do that is up to them."

And who ultimately keeps the ring after an engagement ends is also another big source of conflict this season, as Patrick Suzuki and Kacie McIntosh continue to fight via proxy in EW interviews regarding who should keep the ring after their breakup, since Kacie refused to give it to Patrick after he asked for it.

"She didn't even want to give me a phone call," Patrick tells EW of what happened after they got home from filming their confusing non-breakup breakup. "I didn't like the interaction at the cast meetup — [she] was super distant. I thought that was pretty disrespectful."

Patrick says that he only asked Kacie for the ring back "to see where her head was at" after she refused to meet up with him one-on-one to discuss their relationship.

"I didn't want the ring back, it wasn't about the ring," he says. "I just wanted to ask her a simple question. And then she basically said a bunch of stuff about how I told her that she could keep the ring, and she told me that I was making it about the ring, and then I was like, 'I'm not making it about the ring. I just want to be cool.' And then she never texted me back."

Meanwhile, Kacie tells EW that she didn't consider her relationship with Patrick to be over until he asked for the ring back, which is when she "felt really upset."

"Pretty much the second day we were back, he asked for the ring back, and then I started to get a little upset, and then he said he just wanted to be friends," Kacie says. "I really don't know where the disconnect happened in a matter of a couple of days... The moment that it jumped to, 'I want the ring back for memorabilia, and respectfully I want to be friends,' I was just like, 'Okay, I guess we're done then.'"

If they didn't walk away from the show with love and a marriage, it sounds like a few thousand dollars worth of jewelry is the next-best consolation prize.

*Love Is Blind *season 9 releases episodes 10 and 11 on Wednesday, Oct. 15, and the finale on Wednesday, Oct. 22.**
