On Wednesday night's America's Got Talent results show, host Terry Crews shared the news that Mastermind, who combines technology and magic for an unforgettable performance, had withdrawn from the show despite having already been voted into the semifinals on Week 3 of the quarterfinals. The host cited "personal reasons."
Mastermind and AGT have yet to reveal any further information about the reason behind his departure from the show. But if any information comes to light, we will be sure to provide an update.
The masked mentalist's true identity is not known, but he is memorable. During his AGT audition, Mastermind mesmerized the judges and the audience with a stunning series of tricks and illusions. One such bit of magic was unlocking Howie Mandel's password-protected phone without even touching it, lifting Simon Cowell's glasses and using ChatGPT to predict words thought up by the audience.

Mastermind keeps the mystery going by wearing a leather coat, a mask and a voice changer, and despite multiple online searches, his identity has not yet been revealed.
His Instagram post reads, ""I am the result of artificial intelligence creating the perfect modern day magician. I am Mastermind. A.I. WIZARD 🧙🏼♂️ 📱 ON YOUR PHONE & IN YOUR MIND 🧠 ❤️ … I'm basically the love child of Darth Vader and Harry Potter ⚡️living in The Matrix 👾."
Hopefully, now that Terry has revealed his withdrawal from AGT, Mastermind will let America in on the secret of his exit.

Another withdrawal from AGT this season was Astrid Jorgensen, who was initially scheduled to perform on Night 4 of the quarterfinals, but was replaced by Mike Munz with no announcement made.
The most famous AGT withdrawal, of course, was Simon Cowell's Golden Buzzer Nightbirde, whose real name was Jane Marczewski, who auditioned even though, as she told the audience, she only had a 2 percent chance of surviving her cancer. When her cancer later recurred, she had to drop out of the competition to deal with her health. Nightbirde was the first Golden Buzzer act to withdraw from the live shows of America's Got Talent. Nightbirde lost her battle with cancer on Sunday, Feb. 20, making her the first Golden Buzzer winner to die. She was 31.
Also, in 2020, Thomas Day withdrew from the Live Shows due to football commitments at his college, as well as a brief battle with COVID-19 that impacted his ability to participate in the competition.
America's Got Talent will return for the semifinals on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. on NBC. Stream next day on Peacock.
