NFL Rumors: Potential Trade Destinations For Derek Carr

Posted: 19 Jan 2022 08:18 AM PST

The Las Vegas Raiders were the most resilient team in the NFL this season, overcoming several major issues off the field to clinch a playoff berth against all odds.

A lot of that credit should go to Derek Carr, who's been deemed the MVP by his Raiders teammates and has earned a reputation of being a strong, fair leader in the locker room.

But as it usually happens in this business, no one's ever safe in the NFL, and Carr isn't the exception to that rule.

Carr May Request A Trade

Now, at the end of the season, the Raiders may be left with more questions than answers, as they have yet to make a decision on their new HC.

Moreover, Ian Rapoport recently claimed that Carr could request a trade if Ray Bisaccia doesn't get the job:

"My understanding is that [Carr's] future is uncertain in Las Vegas. As it is explained to me, the Raiders and Derek Carr have a mutual decision to make this offseason." Rapoport said, per Sportscasting. "And the choice of head coach will, I'm told, be a factor. Derek Carr has said very publically and several times that his preference is to stay with the Raiders."

3. Carolina Panthers

There are a lot of unanswered questions in Carolina and some believe that Matt Rhule wasn't the right choice for the Panthers.

But if the team decides to run it back and hires a competent offensive coordinator, then Carr might as well be the QB they've been looking for over the past couple of years.

The Panthers are already paying Cam Newton, Cam Newton's replacement, and Cam Newton replacement's replacement, so the setting may not be ideal.

Then again, they could be in the mix for a playoff spot if Christian McCaffrey manages to stay healthy.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers

Moving on from a Hall of Famer quarterback isn't an easy task, and the Pittsburgh Steelers will be in for a long season unless they make an aggressive move.

They might take a QB in the Draft but their defense is ready to compete right away and there's no point in wasting another year.

Carr would have some decent weapons at his disposal and one of the league's up-and-coming RBs in Najee Harris.

If the Steelers' line gave what was left of Ben Roethlisberger some time to operate, then Carr should excel as his replacement.

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts tried their luck with Carson Wentz and we all saw how that went.

The Colts had a stout defense and one of the best running games in the league, yet their QB miserably failed to deliver over and over.

Wentz isn't likely to be a starter in the league anymore unless a desperate team falls in that trap again.

Carr would give the Colts a strong presence in the locker room while also being a massive upgrade over in nearly every aspect of the game in comparison to Wentz.

Willem Dafoe To Host 'Saturday Night Live' With Katy Perry As Musical Guest

Posted: 19 Jan 2022 08:12 AM PST

Willem Dafoe is set to make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut on January 29 and he will be joined by Katy Perry as the musical guest.

The 66-year-old actor, who is a four-time Oscar nominee, has never hosted SNL before. His reprisal of Green Goblin in _Spider-Man: No Way Home_has put him back in the spotlight, making it the perfect time to kick-off his SNL appearance.

Scroll down for more this story.

Doing His Own Stunts

Dafoe first played the Green Goblin role in Sam Raimi's 2002 Spider-Man, where he played opposite Tobey Maguire.

His impressive portrayal of the villain made the role so iconic. While the Goblin dies after his stand-off with Maguire's Spider-Man, the multiverse made it possible for the character to come back.

According to Dafoe, he agreed to return as long as he can do his own stunts in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

"It's really impossible to just add any integrity or any fun to the character if you don't participate in these things. All that action stuff informs your relationship to the characters in the story. And also makes you earn your right to play the character," he said in an interview.

Keeping His Identity Secret

Reprising his role proved to be a big challenge, as Dafoe had to keep his identity a secret during filming.

"When I'd go to set, they put me in a black cloak and always had me in a car with dark windows. And they didn't want me hanging out anyplace because they didn't want anyone to know I was in town making a movie," he shared in The Tonight Show.

"And I didn't think it would work, but actually, it did," Dafoe said. "Only just before the movie was released they started kind of hinting things in the trailers. So it was cool."

Tom Holland On First Meeting Dafoe

Apparently, Marvel was so secretive that even Tom Holland didn't know about the Goblin's return.

"There was actually a funny story about when I met Willem for the first time, because obviously at that time, all of the villains in the film, it was a huge secret that they were in the film, so they would walk around set with these cloaks on," Tom shared.

"And I just sort of bumped into this guy in a cloak and was like, "Watch out, mate." And he took his hood off and I almost, like, got really scared. I was like "oh sh*t, the Goblin's here!"

Katy Perry Will Perform On SNL

Aside from Dafoe's hosting and possible Spider-Man and Green Goblin references in the upcoming episode, we can also look forward to Katy Perry performing on the stage of SNL.

This will be her fourth appearance in the show. The American Idol judge has hosted back in 2011 and has been a musical guest three times.

Texans GM Says Deshaun Watson Won't Play For Them Again, Discusses Possible Trades

Posted: 19 Jan 2022 08:06 AM PST

It was a tough season for the Houston Texans. They didn't have Deshaun Watson under center, coach David Culley struggled to make adjustments, and they finished with the worst record in the NFL.

To make things even worst, they don't even have a Head Coach anymore and the future of their franchise QB is murky at best.

The Texans are likely to go through a major rebuild and it will take some time before they're competitive again, but GM Nick Caseiro is confident in the future of the franchise.

Watson Won't Play For Texans Again, Says GM

In a recent interview with SportsRadio 610, Caserio admitted that the franchise has come to peace with the fact that Watson isn't likely to play another snap for them ever again:

"There's been some commentary that more than likely would not be the case," Caserio said, as quoted by NFL.com. "I think we just have to be open-minded and just take the information and process it, then ultimately make the decision we feel makes the most sense for everybody involved, whatever that looks like."

There's League-Wide Interest In Watson

The Clemson product is currently facing up to 22 civil lawsuits for sexual misconduct but hasn't been criminally charged, thus the NFL didn't actually suspend him.

There's growing optimism around the league that his legal turmoil will be settled sooner rather than later, and several QB-needy teams will line up to make a run at him.

Watson was eager to veto his no-trade clause to play for Brian Flores and the Miami Dolphins, but now that they've fired him, they're not likely to have a shot at him, per Pro Football Rumors.

Now, the New York Giants, Denver Broncos, Carolina Panthers, Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cleveland Browns all emerge as potential destinations.

Texans Will Listen To Offers For The Third-Overall Pick

The Texans will have the third-overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, which is stacked with potential franchise-changing players.

Nonetheless, they're more than willing to listen to offers and move that pick at the right price:

"Absolutely. Always open for business. You never want to limit yourself," Caserio admitted. "I've always been open-minded when it comes to the draft. ... Every team and every individual has a different philosophy. 'We're not gonna trade, we're always going to pick, we're not going to move.' I think we're a little bit more open-minded, progressive thinking, move up and down. And it's not just move to move."

Caserio Says They're Open For Business

The GM said that the team will be open for business and willing to engage in talks with every other team for a potential move:

"Trades, specific to the draft, are always driven by A) player availability, B) where are you moving, what are you moving away from, and then C) what are you getting in return in terms of assets that can potentially fill out the rest of your team. So we're rolling up our sleeves right now, going through that draft process," Caserio explained. "There's a number of a good players that will be available. Again, we're open for business on anything."

It'll take a lot to lead the Texans back to contention, so they better make the most of the valuable assets they have right now.

Dak Prescott Issues Apology Over Comments On NFL Referees

Posted: 19 Jan 2022 07:45 AM PST

The Dallas Cowboys' season came to an early end, as they couldn't keep up with the San Francisco 49ers at AT&T Stadium.

Mike McCarthy's team had a shot at tying the game and even winning, but he called a QB Draw with no timeouts left.

The Cowboys tried to line up quickly and blocked the official from touching the football as the rules state. The game was over and fans were far from satisfied with the referees, throwing thrash at them from the stands.

Prescott Thought Fans Threw Debris At The Players

When asked about the situation, Dak Prescott thought the fans were throwing debris at the players. He called them out and claimed that no one wants to win more than them:

"No, I didn't see that. It's sad. You're talking about a team, you're talking about men coming out each and every day of their lives and give everything to this sport, give everything to this game of football," Dak said after the game, as quoted by FanSided.

"Nobody wants to succeed more than we want to succeed," Prescott added. "I understand fans and the word 'fan' for fanatic, I get that. But to know everything that we put into this, day in and day out, try our hardest, nobody comes into the game wanting or expecting to lose, and for people to react that way when you're supposed to be a supporter and be with us through thick and thin, that's tough."

Dak Was Glad The Fans Threw Thrash At Officials

But when someone clarified that the fans were throwing trash at the referees, not the players, Prescott had a somewhat shocking response:

"Credit to them then. Credit to them," the QB said."

Some in attendance were in disbelief of Prescott's words, so they asked him thoughts on the situation again. Instead of backpedaling, the gunslinger doubled down on his controversial take:

"If the fans felt the same way as us and that's what they were doing it for, yeah, I'm guessing that's why the refs took off and got out of there so fast," Dak added. "Yeah, I think everybody is upset with the way that this thing played out. I'm sure a fan would feel the same way that we do."

Prescott Changes Stance, Apologizes For His Comments

Needless to say, Prescott's comments drew plenty of criticism around social media and the sports community, which is why he had no choice but to change his stance and issue an apology on Twitter:

"I deeply regret the comments I made regarding the officials after the game on Sunday," Prescott wrote. "I was caught up in the emotion of a disappointing loss and my words were uncalled for and unfair."

"I hold the NFL Officials in the highest regard and have always respected their professionalism and the difficulty of their jobs," he added on a follow-up tweet. "The safety of everyone who attends a game or participates on the field of a sporting event is a very serious matter. That was a mistake on my behalf, and I am sorry."

NBA Referees Call Out Dak Prescott

The NFL has yet to make a statement regarding Prescott's comments but he's likely to be fined.

The NBA Referees Association, however, did call him out for inciting violence:

"The NBRA condemns the comments by Dak Prescott condoning violence against game officials," they wrote in a statement. "As an NFL leader, he should know better. We encourage the NFL to take action to discourage this deplorable behavior in the future."

Dak should've known better than this. Nobody likes to lose, but there's no place for violence in sports.

Seahawks Looking To Hire New DC Amid Russell Wilson's Uncertain Future

Posted: 19 Jan 2022 07:41 AM PST

Not so long ago, the Seattle Seahawks boasted one of the greatest, most dominant defenses in NFL history.

Those days are far behind them, and the Legion of Boom is nothing but a distant memory of a team that's far behind the rest of their division.

That's why, in an attempt to go back to their winning ways, they let go of both defensive passing game coordinator Andre Curtis and Defensive Coordinator Ken Norton Jr.

Unfortunately, that may not be enough to keep up with the rest of the NFC West.

Seahawks Fire DC Ken Norton Jr.

The Seahawks' pass defense allowed countless big plays and they weren't much better against the run, either:

"Defensively, we didn't start fast enough in this season again," HC Pete Carroll said, as quoted by Sports Illustrated. "That's two times in a row we didn't start fast enough, and we found ourselves and put up some good numbers that indicate how you're playing. Just all of that just didn't happen soon enough."

Now, they're eyeing Denver Broncos DC Ed Donatell as the guy who could solve their season-long woes.

Pete Carroll Says The Seahawks Need To Get Better In All Phases

It was a down season overall for the once-feared Seahawks.

But even though some point the finger at their defense and others to Russell Wilson's regression, HC Pete Carroll looked at the whole picture:

"We've got to be better in all phases. It's the first thing. And it's not just one guy," Carroll told the media, per ProFootballTalk. "But I know that it took Russ time to get back after the time off and it wasn't quite the same. He could still play and do well and do lots of things but he just had to work his way through it. I think it's a little bit of everything. You know, we got to get to be better in all ways. I think it's been a challenge in that regard, physically."

Wilson's Future Is Still Up In The Air

All this is happening while the Seahawks don't even know who'll start at QB next season.

Some people claim Russell Wilson and the front office aren't on the same page, and truth be told, the team is due for a rebuild:

"I know for me personally, I hope it's not my last game. But at the same time, I know it won't be my last game in the NFL," Wilson told ProFootballTalk. "I'm just focused on today and getting better today. That's my goal. I love this city and I love this moment. I love these guys and we gotta make sure we get better today. That's all that matters.

There's A Lot Of Interest In Russell Wilson

Wilson is coming off his worst season since entering the league. He threw for 3,113 yards with 25 touchdowns against 6 picks, and wasn't exactly explosive on the ground either.

Even so, he's still one of the all-time great dual-threat quarterbacks and there are several teams craving an upgrade at that position.

According to rumors, the Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers, and even Minnesota Vikings would consider making a move at him, should the Seahawks make him available as expected.

Browns' DT Malik McDowell Arrested In Florida After Beating A Police Officer

Posted: 19 Jan 2022 07:36 AM PST

It seems like every other week, another NFL player makes the news for all the wrong reasons.

This time, it was Cleveland Browns' defensive tackle, Malik McDowell, the one to steal all the headlines for nothing related to football.

According to USA Today, the former Seattle Seahawks player was arrested in South Florida after exposing himself near a children's learning center, resisting arrest, and even beating down a police officer.

Moreover, this isn't his first run-in with law enforcement throughout his career.

McDowell Exposed Himself Near A School And Assaulted A Police Officer

The Browns DT was arrested on Monday by the Broward Sheriff's Office and charged with indecent exposure in public, resisting arrest, and aggravated battery on a law enforcement official.

Apparently, he was disoriented and completely naked when he entered a learning center:

"An officer whose name was redacted from the arrest report stated he responded Monday to a call about a naked man walking near a school, which, according to the Sun Sentinel, Assistant State Attorney Eric Linder told Francois was actually a learning center for children that was in session when McDowell went onto the property," USA Today reported.

His Attorney Says Someone Drugged Him

McDowell's attorney, Adam Swickle, claims his client was drugged without his consent or knowledge:

"Apparently somebody may have slipped him something or given [McDowell] something that he was unaware of, which explains some of this bizarre behavior," Swickle said.

"We're investigating the totality of the circumstances. You never know where that's necessarily going to lead," he added. "We're obviously exploring all issues related to his arrest."

While there's no evidence of someone slipping someone on his drink, that would explain the erratic behavior that led to the arrest.

He's Got A Long History With Off-Field Issues

Nonetheless, it's not like this is the first time that McDowell has been involved in this kind of situation.

Following a head injury suffered shortly after entering the league, McDowell has also missed plenty of time due to multiple suspensions.

He's been charged with a DUI and disorderly conduct, assault, resisting arrest, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Also, he was sentenced to 11 months in jail in 2019 after an altercation with the police.

Seattle released McDowell in March of 2019, and the league suspended him for two games. Later in 2019, McDowell was sentenced t

Browns Release A Statement On McDowell's Situation

McDowell was on a "prove it" one-year deal after all his off-field issues. And, even though he fared pretty well throughout the season, he's unlikely to stay with the team after this incident:

"We are aware of the very concerning incident and arrest involving Malik McDowell and are in the process of gathering more information," the Browns said in a statement, per NFL.com.. "We understand the severity of this matter and our thoughts are for the well-being of all involved. We will have no further comment at this time."

The Michigan State product had 33 tackles (seven for a loss), five QB hits, one fumble recovery, and three sacks across 15 games (14 starts) this season. Unfortunately, he may not play another snap in the NFL.

NBA Rumors: Sixers Could Trade Ben Simmons, Tyrese Maxey & Matisse Thybulle For Damian Lillard

Posted: 19 Jan 2022 07:27 AM PST

Less than a month before the 2022 NBA trade deadline, Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons remains one of the hottest commodities on the trade market. Though the Sixers are still making efforts to convince him to stay and rejoin them in the 2021-22 NBA season, Simmons looked determined to leave the City of Brotherly Love.

As of now, the Sixers continue to receive trade offers for their disgruntled superstar. However, since the 2021 NBA offseason, Sixers president of basketball operations has been insisting that they would only accept a trade package that includes an All-Star caliber player.

Sixers Fans' Dream Trade Scenario

In a recent article, Lee Tran of Fadeaway World discussed a hypothetical blockbuster trade that Sixers' fans "would love to see" happen before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. The suggested deal would involve one of the Sixers' dream trade targets - Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard.

In the proposed trade scenario, the Sixers would be sending a trade package that includes Simmons, Tyrese Maxey, and Matisse Thybulle to the Trail Blazers in exchange for Lillard. If the trade becomes a reality, Tran believes it would help the Sixers and the Trail Blazers in filling up the needs to improve on their roster.

Sixers Take A Risk On Damian Lillard

Though he's among their top trade targets in the deal involving Simmons, the proposed blockbuster trade comes with a huge risk for the Sixers since Lillard is currently out with an injury. According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the Trail Blazers superstar recently underwent an abdominal surgery that is expected to put him on the sideline for at least six to eight weeks.

However, Lillard would undeniably be a worthy gamble for the Sixers, especially if he could fully recover before the real battle begins in the 2022 NBA Playoffs.

Damian Lillard Boosts Sixers' Offense

Lillard would be an incredible addition to the Sixers. His potential arrival in the City of Brotherly Love would help the Sixers improve their offensive efficiency that currently ranks No. 11 in the league, scoring 108.4 points per 100 possessions, per ESPN. He would give them a prolific scorer, a great playmaker, and an elite three-point shooter.

This season, Lillard is averaging 24.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 7.3 assists while shooting 40.2 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from beyond the arc, per ESPN. Adding Lillard to the core of Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, Seth Curry, and Danny Green would give the Sixers a realistic chance of beating Eastern Conference powerhouse teams like the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls, and the Miami Heat in a best-of-seven series.

Trail Blazers Rebuild Team Around Ben Simmons

Meanwhile, the proposed blockbuster trade with the Sixers would help the Trail Blazers face the inevitable. Like Simmons and the Sixers, the relationship between Lillard and the Trail Blazers doesn't seem to be destined to last. Instead of being stuck in mediocrity with Lillard as their main guy, trading him to the Sixers would give them the assets that they need to undergo a full-scale rebuild.

Simmons would become the new centerpiece of the Trail Blazers' roster, while Maxey and Thybulle would give them two very promising players with huge superstar potential.

Summer House’s Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s Relationship Highs and Lows

Posted: 17 Jan 2022 01:54 PM PST

Not just a summer romance! Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula have weathered reality TV drama, cheating scandals and wedding delays throughout their relationship — and they're still going strong.

The Summer House stars' romance has played out on the Bravo series since season 1, which premiered in January 2017.

Cooke, who met Batula during the summer of 2015, signed on for the reality show first. After inviting his love to spend time with him at the Hamptons house in July 2016, however, the New Jersey native was featured in several season 1 episodes. She officially joined him on the TV adventure for season 2.

"We have watched every episode together, the good ones and the bad," the Loverboy founder wrote via Instagram in March 2019, while looking back at the first time Batula filmed with him. "It's not easy reliving the tough and challenging parts of our relationship every year, ever episode, 8 months after it happened, but here we are. Happily engaged, and about to watch the premiere of Season 3. Thank you to everyone for your love and support! ❤."

One year prior, Batula gave fans a glimpse at her relationship with Cooke, including why they work so well together.

"I'm very picky when it comes to the guys I date. I can count on one hand the number of long-term relationships I've been in and have only told 3 of those people that I loved them because I don't want to give a piece of my heart to just anyone," she wrote via Instagram in April 2018.

The Loverboy creative director explained that she let Cooke in because she "trusted" him and saw "how big and kind" his heart was when they first met.

"I admired you because I saw how you were the life of the party and how so many of [your] friends … had nothing but nice things to say about you. I enjoyed dating you because of the weird things we'd get into as essentially complete strangers, our accidental blackout date nights, and at times, your drunken shenanigans that made me laugh and were endless entertainment," she continued. "I chose you because you chose me too & the only place I'm ever running is straight into your arms (committed to trying to nail that dirty dancing move so keep hitting the gym😜)."

The twosome, who got engaged in September 2018, however, have had their fair share of ups and downs. Their biggest roadblock came when Cooke cheated on Batula, which he later spoke about publicly following the season 3 premiere in March 2019, explaining during the episode that the infidelity took place one year prior.

“Honestly, it’s gonna sound cliché, we went through a lot together, and I’ve always been 99 percent sure,” the Maryland native said during a March 2019 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen when asked why he fought for Batula after the cheating drama. “But when you go through some of those massive hurdles and speed bumps and you keep it together as a couple, you’re like, ‘Holy crap, life is difficult and she’s the one I want to be with.'”

Batula, for her part, said she had moved on from the betrayal and was focused on her future with Cooke. “I have the ring, I know that he loves me, the world has changed now that he’s serious about me, and I think that’s all that matters," she said at the time.

The duo tied the knot two years later, with Cooke exclusively telling Us Weekly in October 2021 that he got "goosebumps" ahead of the ceremony.

"I was like a ball of nerves, but in that moment, everything was perfect. It's exactly how you want it to feel," he said of the September 2021 nuptials. "And I was certainly teary-eyed, several times during the ceremony, but I managed to pull through."

Scroll down to relive Summer House's Cooke and Batula's relationship highs and lows:

Sara Evans and Jay Barker's Relationship and Divorce Timeline

Posted: 17 Jan 2022 01:51 PM PST

It seems things between Sara Evans and Harry "Jay" Barker are starting to get ugly.

The country singer married the former football player in 2008, one year after she finalized her divorce from Craig Schelske. Evans and Schelske's relationship made headlines in 2006 when she abruptly left Dancing With the Stars as her marriage crumbled amid allegations of cheating from both Evans and Schelske. The former couple, who wed in 1993, share three kids.

While navigating her divorce, the "A Little Bit Stronger" singer was introduced to Barker, who was going through a split of his own, by her marital counselor.

“He told us he’d never known two people more alike,” Evans told Birmingham magazine in 2015. “He felt we could at least be supportive friends.”

The pair connected via emails and text before hopping on the phone.

"We would get together with our kids as ‘just friends,'" the University of Alabama alum added. "Before long, they told us we should be dating.”

Barker shares four kids with his ex-wife, Amy DiGiovanna.

"She's my biggest fan and I'm hers," Barker gushed about Evans at the time. "As great as she is at music, she's even better at being a mom and wife."

The duo moved their brood to Alabama after exchanging vows.

"We are truly a family. We don't think of it as 'blended'; they are just our kids," Barker told People in 2011. "But we also understand our roles. If I'm around when Sara's kids' father is around, I give him his place as their dad."

Evans added, "The kids really love each other. It just works. We're so fortunate."

After nearly 14 years of marriage, the twosome made headlines when Barker was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The booking stemmed from an alleged January 2022 incident in Nashville after he allegedly tried to hit Evans with his vehicle.

While the arrest drew attention to Evans' August 2021 divorce petition, there were signs of trouble in the pair's marriage. Scroll through for a timeline of their relationship:

"I've always liked Alabama," Evans recalled to Birmingham magazine in 2015 of relocating from Tennessee. "When I lived in Nashville and went to the beach, I loved driving through Alabama. Where we live feels like a small town. People are so friendly here. I have four or five girlfriends who are really close. Our kids all play sports, our families get together and have fun. People think I'm always touring but I'm usually here. I used to take my kids with me on tours — now that they're older, I can't do that.” Evan Agostini/AP/Shutterstock

January 2022 – Arrest
According to the affidavit from the alleged January 15 domestic violence incident, Evans was in the passenger seat of her friend’s car when she allegedly saw Barker “backing up his vehicle at a high rate of speed attempting to hit them but missed.” Following a 12-hold, Barker was released on a $10,000 bond. He subsequently shared a statement via his radio show’s Instagram page. “I am humbled beyond words by the support I have received from friends, supporters and so many in the Alabama family,” he wrote. “To all of you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We all confront challenges in life and my family, and I are facing one now. Unfortunately, headlines and quick-to-publish news stories do not adequately capture the full context and complex fabric of our lives. I love my family dearly and at this difficult time, I respectfully ask for privacy for the sake of my family and especially our kids. In gratitude, Jay Barker. Garfield, 38, revealed that Stone, 33, frequently reached out to him about the rumors he would return as Spider-Man in the most recent installment. “Emma kept on texting me. She was like, ‘Are you in this new Spider-Man film?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about,'” Garfield told “Happy Sad Confused” podcast host Josh Horowitz in the Monday, January 17 episode.

“She was like, ‘Shut up. Just tell me.’ I’m like, ‘I honestly don’t know,'” the Oscar nominee continued, adding that he “kept [the ruse] going,” even with Stone, who starred alongside him as love interest Gwen Stacy in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man and its 2014 sequel. “And then she saw it. She was like, ‘You’re a jerk.'”

No Way Home, which introduced the multiverse into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, featured appearances from Garfield and Tobey Maguire (who starred in 3 Spider-Man films from 2002 to 2007). The two shared the big screen with the current Peter Parker, Tom Holland, in the blockbuster.

Though there are rumors that Garfield might even play the Marvel superhero, he claimed that he hasn’t heard anything official. “I can’t speak for anything but myself. [The producers] might be doing something, but I [haven’t heard],” Garfield said, emphasizing that he “did not get a call” about another superhero project.

Regardless of what comes next for Peter Parker, the Tick, Tick… Boom! star has nothing but fond memories of his time as the webslinger. “It was only beautiful,” Garfield reflected during an interview with Variety in September 2021. “I got to meet Emma [Stone] and work with her and Sally Field.”

After meeting on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man in 2011, Garfield and Stone became a couple both on and off the screen. They dated for four years before calling it quits in 2015.

Despite the split, Garfield has described himself as Stone’s “biggest fan,” adding that they still support one another, both personally and professionally. “We care about each other so much, and that's a given, that's kind of this unconditional thing," Garfield said on Vanity Fair's "Little Gold Men" podcast in January 2017. "There's so much love between us and so much respect. … I'm her biggest fan as an artist. So for me, it's been bliss to be able to watch her success and watch her bloom into the actress that she is. And it's been wonderful to have that kind of support for each other.”

Stone secretly married director Dave McCrary in the fall of 2021. The couple welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Louise in March. Garfield, meanwhile, has been dating model Christine Gabel since 2019.

Not cool. Kim Kardashian's family is over Kanye West's actions after he claimed he was not invited to their daughter Chicago's birthday party over the weekend.

“Kanye has caused a lot of drama lately with the family [and] they’re not happy with what’s transpired over the last few days," a source exclusively told Us Weekly on Monday, January 17, noting the Yeezy designer 44, is "uncontrollable" as he continues to air their "private matters."

The "Jesus Walks" rapper raised eyebrows on Saturday, January 15, when he alleged that his estranged wife, 41, wouldn't tell him where his 4-year-old daughter Chicago's celebration was taking place.

"I did call Kim, texted nannies. I got on the phone with Tristan [Thompson, Khloé Kardashian's ex], he asked Khloé [and] won't nobody give me the address to my daughter's birthday party right now," West claimed at the time. "That's gonna imprint in her mind that I wasn't there for her."

The Grammy winner, who also shares North, 8, Saint, 6, and Psalm, 2, with the KKW Beauty founder, later made an appearance at the bash, which was a joint party for Chicago and Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott's daughter, Stormi.

A source exclusively told Us at the time that Kim was caught off guard by West's allegations as there were "always two parties planned" for the estranged couple's youngest daughter.

The "Runaway" rapper was set to celebrate the little one at 4 p.m. PT on Saturday, according to the insider, who added, "Kim was shocked to learn that he released a video about not being invited to her party — that's not true and as soon as he asked to come he was given the location."

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum, who filed for divorce from West in February 2021 after six years of marriage, has continued to make all her decisions with her "kids' best interest in mind," the source explained on Monday.

Despite their personal ups and downs, Kim "wouldn't deny him access to the kids," the insider told Us, noting that the mother of four "just wants more boundaries and structure, a set parenting plan."

Amid their divorce, West has been vocal about wanting to get back together with Kim even though she has moved on with Pete Davidson. The reality star and the comedian, 28, were first linked in October 2021 after sharing a kiss in a sketch during her Saturday Night Live hosting debut.

The "Off the Grid" musician turned heads two months later when he bought a house across the street from his and Kim's family home in Hidden Hills, California. He claimed during a Hollywood Unlocked interview earlier this month that the big purchase was all in the names of better serving his and Kim's kids.

"My solace comes from seeing my kids and getting a solid schedule," West, who has recently been linked to model Julia Fox, told host Jason Lee on Monday’s episode. "That's why I even got the house."

He added: "There's nothing with my career, whether it's rap [or designing], none of that is going to keep me from my children. Don't play with me and don't play with my children. Ain't no security going to get between me and my children."

The musician revealed how he feels about Kim's new romance in a snippet of the track, "My Life Was Never Easy." In the song, which was leaked via Twitter on Friday, January 14, West raps, “God saved me from the crash just so I can beat Pete Davidson's ass."

Kim, for her part, is "hoping the divorce is settled soon," the source told Us on Monday, adding that she's "ready for that chapter to close for good" even though West will always be a part of her and the kids' lives.

The King of Queens alum, 51, posted a throwback photo of herself via Twitter on Sunday, January 16, and shared some memories of her life at 16, the age she was in the picture. “I was ready to take on the world,” she wrote. “But by this point, I had been living the life of an adult for years even though I was a kid.”

The Troublemaker author went on to claim that she received no “formal education for years” before the photo was taken. “Instead, I had been working for years so that I could support myself and my family,” she continued. “For the last 38 years of my life, I have been living and working with an 8th grade education.”

Instead of going to school, Remini worked at an insurance company and later began pursuing an acting career. “I saw a successful acting career as a salvation,” she tweeted on Sunday. “It would help me get my family out of poverty and give me a higher standing in Scientology which I truly believed was helping to save mankind.”

After years of struggle, the Second Act star became a successful actress — though she had to work on softening her thick Brooklyn accent. “Had you told me then that I would be a student at NYU at age 51, I wouldn't have believed it,” she added. “I had big dreams back then but when I look back they were rooted in my desire to survive … I couldn’t have imagined a world in which I would be a university student at my age.”

The Kevin Can Wait veteran announced last year that she had been accepted to New York University for an associate’s program in liberal arts.

“For someone like me, a person who desperately wanted a higher education and options in my life, coming from a cult and a family who didn't value an education, this is a very big day for me,” she wrote via Instagram in May 2021 alongside a photo of her admissions letter. “This didn't come easy. This is one of the last chunks of my life that I am taking back for myself from Scientology.”

The New York City native has remained outspoken about the controversial religion since quitting the church in 2013. After publishing her memoir in 2015, she cohosted and coproduced the Emmy-winning A&E docuseries Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, in which she interviewed former members of the church about how it affected their lives.

Last year, the Old School actress said that she didn’t “respect” the way Laura Prepon handled her exit from the church.

"For those of us who were in the public eye and who were speaking on behalf of Scientology, getting people into Scientology, I feel that we have a responsibility to do the work when we find out that none of those things we were doing was not only [not] helpful, but damaging and very harmful to people's lives,” Remini said in September 2021. "Some people, like Laura, feel they don't have a responsibility to speak out.”

One month prior, the That ’70s Show alum revealed that she hadn’t practiced Scientology for nearly five years. "These are tough times for the church," a source told Us Weekly at the time. "Years ago, it almost unheard of for a Hollywood star to openly walk away. But the tidal wave of backlash generated by the likes of Leah and other whistleblowers has changed that."

Us has reached out to the Church of Scientology for comment.

“I got to spend a few amazing days with some of my favorite people, sorely missed those who couldn’t make it, emotions were processed, plans were made, ideas were created,” she concluded on Sunday. “51 isn’t a bad thing at all. Watch out 2022, I’m comin’ for you!! 🎉🎉🎉.”

The Becoming Sister Wives coauthor wed Kody, 53, in 1990. More than 20 years later, the pair legally divorced in order to make it possible for the Wyoming native to legally marry Robyn Brown and adopt her three children from a previous relationship. Kody and Meri remain in a spiritual union — but things have been rocky between them in recent years.

“Meri and I have been in a very dark place for a very long time,” the salesman exclusively told Us Weekly in February 2021. “It’s been more about trying to get ourselves out of this hole that we dug ourselves into. … I hope that some communication heals things. It’s been a long time and it’s been very difficult.”

At the time, Kody noted that he would never force any of his wives to stay in their plural family if they wanted to leave. Along with Meri and Robyn, 43, Kody is in a spiritual marriage with Janelle Brown. In November 2021, Christine Brown announced that she and Kody had separated.

“After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” Christine, 49, wrote via Instagram last fall. “We will continue to be a strong presence in each other's lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family.”

Kody shares six of his 18 children with Christine: Asypen, 26, Mykelti, 25, Paedon, 23, Gwendlyn, 20, Ysabel, 18, and Truely, 11.

News of the pair’s split caused Meri, Robyn and Janelle, 52, to “reevaluate their position” within the polygamous family, a source exclusively told Us in November 2021. A second insider noted at the time that Meri “has become very independent” after 30 years with Kody.

“They’re together for TV, essentially,” the second source told Us, claiming that the longtime couple “have zero relationship.”

The actor, 47, admitted that it was a “big deal” for him to film his first nude scene in Guillermo del Toro‘s next project. “I remember reading in the script and thinking, ‘He's a pickled punk in that bathtub and it's to story. You have to do it,'” Cooper recalled while with the KCRW show The Business in an episode released on Monday, January 17.

The Oscar nominee added that there was “nothing gratuitous” about the scene, which helped him agree to film it. “Because the content of what the movie is, what we were exploring, in order to do it in a real way, it demanded that we'd be naked emotionally and soulfully,” Cooper explained.

A remake of the 1940s noir of the same name, Nightmare Alley centers on Cooper’s character, Stanton Carlisle, a former carnival worker who uses his skills to present himself as a mentalist. The psychological thriller required Cooper to strip down and sit in a bathtub during a steamy scene opposite Toni Collette.

Though he was OK with the nudity in theory, Cooper revealed that it was difficult to actually shed his clothes in front of Collette, 49. “I can still remember that day just to be naked in front of the crew for six hours, and it was Toni Collette's first day," he said. “It was just like, 'Whoa.' It was pretty heavy.”

Filming on Nightmare Alley was interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, which forced the cast and crew to take a six-month break in the middle of production. “We have been making Nightmare Alley for the last two and a half years,” Cooper said at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2021. “It was a unique experience, going through the pandemic, taking six months off and revisiting it.”

In the meantime, the Star is Born actor spent much of quarantine looking after his mother, Gloria Campano, and his daughter, Lea, whom he shares with ex Irina Shayk.

I'm with my daughter [Lea De Seine] and my mother and my two dogs, and we have not left the house,” the actor recalled during an August 2020 conversation for Interview magazine. “My mother is going to be 80, and she has a colostomy bag, so I can't let anybody in the house. And I can't leave the house, because if she gets it, it's over.”

Nightmare Alley is in theaters now.
